So the two of you spent days going to the fabric store and ordering materials to build props in your spare time..blerd!ony, who was turning heads the entire time when he revealed that Adonis like figure that had been hiding underneath that company polo everyday..you were nervous and even a little embarrassed walking beside someone so fine. but blerd!ony couldn’t keep his eyes off of you or hands..holding your left one, keeping you close and grasping the small of your back as he guided you through the crowds. That Time I Hooked Up With A Tumblr Mutual

Ok. Let me start by saying this is not a callout post, and this should be read as a humorous story, with some takeaway lessons at the end. Please enjoy my story of my weird ass encounter with a Tumblr mutual.

Part 1: The Backstory

Alight so boom. I had just returned home from a trip where I met a different Tumblr mutual. That trip was great but didn't end up going to plan, so long story short, ya girl was horny. I had never really had a one-night-stand or sought out a solely sexual hookup, so I started thinking maybe I could try it out, see how I like it. And through the sheer power of manifestation, that opportunity presented itself.

I was scrolling Tumblr and one of my mutuals posted asking if anyone was in (my area) and wanted to hang out. Mind you, I have never spoken to this mutual before. No DMs, maybe like 1 or 2 comments through tags and that's it. But, most of my moots are far as fuck, so when I saw she was near me I was like oh ayo, I'm free! Why not, I had nothing else going on! So I reply, and she DMs me.

So she introduces herself, we'll call her Chicle for reasons I'll get to later in the story lmao. Anyway, she gushes a little bit, saying she's been too shy to DM me and that I'm a really cool tattoo artist mutual, I say she's cute and seems cool, and she asks if I've ever been to this particular mall. I say I have and if she wants to cruise the mall with me. She says yeah I'd love to cruise the mall and "if I like her vibe, then maybe we can do something more fun." I say I'm down, she gives me her number.

So here is what I'm envisioning. We'll meet up at the mall, walk around and talk, get to know each other, have some laughs, get a snack, it was a Friday so maybe we could go out to like a bar or go dancing, and then maybe after that, possibly make-out or even have sex! I am not opposed to having sex after a first date if I'm really vibing with the person and if we've been talking for a bit before. Girls, this is not what happened.

Part 2: The Meeting

I get ready, and I drive to the mall. I park, we text on where to meetup and I head over to the Gamestop. I see her at the counter, go up and I'm like "are you buying Pokemon cards?" She starts laughing, she says "I didn't want you to see this!" I'm laughing, I told her it's cute, she finishes paying and we walk around. Cute start and thennnn it all starts to go downhill from here.

Afterwards, we go to walk around more and I start trying to ask her questions so I can get to know her more. It becomes very apparent that she is not interested in getting to know each other lmao. I ask what she does for work, and what she's interested in, and she tells me she's interested in getting into (something animation related) and i'm like "oh ayo, that aligns with what I do" and start trying to get more info cause i'm curious, annd I get just the shortest fucking answers. Ok.

She ends up making a comment about how I'm probably more experienced than her, and I'm like "oh really? Well how many people have you been with?" and Chicle asks "are we counting online?" Now, there is nothing necessarily wrong with this...but it does become more clear on just how "online" this person is. Anyway, she has only been with a few people, never had a partner. It becomes very clear as to why she may have never had a partner.

Part 3: Inappropriate Behavior

We are walking around the mall, stopping in a few stores to look at stuff. Chicle is walking next to me and I am still trying to invoke conversation. But Chicle is not interested in conversation, because instead, she is deliberately and blatantly staring directly at my tits. What I mean is, mid-walking, she is at my side, craning her head to the side to make it incredibly clear that that is what she is doing. Chicle again says "do you wanna get out of here and go back to my room" and I'm questioning what exactly she means, because the phrasing is a little weird. And again this is not a callout post, she is not a bad person, and everything that ultimately happened, I did consent to. But I will not sugarcoat the fact that this behavior was definitely inappropriate harassment, and there was absolutely some pressuring with the continuous asking. But as I mulled it over, there were 2 reasons I ultimately decided to agree and meet her at that motel.

I had never done something like this before so..fuck it, let's do it for the plot.

And so, she gave me the address, we got in our respective cars, and we met at the motel.

Part 4: The Motel

We go to the room, put our stuff down, and I go to use the restroom. I'm thinking "oh shit, this is weird but alright, let's see what happens"

She's interested in getting into the animation industry, which I'm currently also working on getting into as well. We could have talked about that and really had a cool discussion on what kind of projects she wants to do and what style she works in. She likes video games, we could have talked more about what games we like. She got this tattoo book because she knows I'm a tattoo artist, and I think that's really fucking cute. There's so many non-sexual aspects that could have made this a real fucking date where I got to know this person, and feel comfortable, and then we could have had really great sex because straight up, the girl was good. She may have learned it from Tumblr, and some of it was weird, but for the most part? She was damn good, especially for only having limited experience. This could have turned into something real! But NO. Chicle, instead, wanted to grope my tits in front of families an hour into meeting me, and made no effort to really let me get to know her in any capacity whatsoever! And it's not like she wanted this to be just a one-night-stand, because she had told me she was looking for a gf and asked me what I was looking for!

It just could have been so much better than this weird ass situation. And after the fact, she texted me and I answered a couple times, but when the following morning she said something to the effect of "it felt so good having you on my lap" I just never answered. Because prior to this, there was absolutely no established relationship, friendship or otherwise. And I could not see anything moving forward, because we couldn't backtrack into the aforementioned "could have been". I considered communicating how I didn't actually feel super comfortable with how things went, but I ultimately just decided to not reply. Shitty on my part, but again, there was no prior anything. And we just never spoke again, we remained mutuals, and so I never talked about this because uh, obviously she would see it. But since she blocked me, heyho now you all get the story!

Part 6: Epilogue

Now, the reason I decided to call her Chicle (Spanish for Gum)

You guys probably go in-depth about the director's choices on each actor/actresses' positions onstage and some of the stage-lighting directions too. The two of you stay up all night talking about these kinds of things too.

I can imagine the two of you reciting lines when passing by each other in the hallways too haha. It's sort of like inside jokes for the two of you.

Unsurprisingly, Idia's hobby is pc gaming, and if you happen to show even the slightest interest in joining him, he'll be over the moon about it. Watch him gush about which games you guys can play together haha.

You both play online together a lot. I'm sure if you stream or have any online friends/fans, people speculate if the two of players "Gloomurai" and "(insert username here)" are dating haha.

You guys are probably a power couple when in the same team, no matter what kind of a game it is (be it a first-person shooter type or a mmorpg). But sometimes, you guys like to watch each other play individually.

I'm sure Idia loves gaming with you so much and being able to geek out a bit. But because of this, the two of you barely get any sleep. Crewel might point this out if you guys show up to class with heavy dark circles for a month haha.

Malleus

Malleus likes exploring ruins, which is an interesting hobby and one where the two of you guys can spend a lot of time together. He's super happy when you tell him you want to accompany him on a trip one day.

He'll lead the way on most occasions, mainly because he chooses which area to explore but also because he wants to protect you if anything jumps out and potentially harms you.

Expect a lot of calm vibes while you guys are together. I can see the two of you sitting on top of a high broken pillar, watching the sunset. You're resting your head on his shoulder and he has an arm around you. It's really wholesome!

Overall, he's super happy he doesn't have to be alone when doing his hobby anymore! He'll offer you to accompany him every single time from then on.

Hi! So while normally I don't indulge in anti... I can't help it, it's fun XD People are so sensitive about some things, but anyway... I'm on board with you since I realized later in life that yeah, Sakura is absolutely brilliant and Hinata is... SO not. I can't say I enjoy her character one bit anymore after she's done nothing but disappoint me. BUT! What I wanted to let you know was something else that kinda pisses me off.

Now we know that it's obvious that Studio Bones and the animators have this insane and somewhat misogynistic favoritism towards Hinata (because's quiet, submissive and kind), given how much to flanderize Sakura's temper to make her look like that's all she is.

Well I think even whoever made the video games favor Hinata too. I used to play this old-ass game called Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2. Very old lol but there were some joke/unique versions of characters.

Example: "Sealed Orochimaru" in reference to how he couldn't use any jutsu thanks to 3rd Hokage's Seal. And "Nine Tailed Naruto" with Naruto as the Nine Tailed Fox.

And then there's "Byakugan Hinata" I'm not kidding you, they have this... badass version of Hinata who is a competent fighter, has a strong disposition and seems to actually care about her status as a Hyuga. Even though in canon there hasn't been a single moment where Hinata's shown to be competent in fighting (she hasn't won a single battle in combat), strong (any bold moment was just so she could look cool in front of Naruto) or given a damn about her clan or her status given that she spends every moment on panels or screen gushing and thinking about Naruto.

Now here I am thinking... how pathetic is that?

That the creators of this game made up such a farfetched and dare I say fanfic-ed version of Hinata that you can find in any badly written fiction where Hinata is suddenly a badass when she's shown repeatedly in canon that she is NOT.

Hinata is no badass. She just isn't. I thought she had potential once upon a time, and then the fillers (which aren't canon) go out of their way to make her look badass when in canon, she isn't.

So it's not just the anime, the games were guilty of this too.

Okay I'm so sorry this got long lol, but I just thought it'd be neat to tell you this because it's a game many have forgotten because it IS pretty old lol. But... looking back on it, it disappoints me.

Sakura is the true badass female of Naruto. That's a fact.

And I tried to like Hinata too, I even talked about it here, so i understand, but she's such an awfull character to be shown to younger audience that it's painful.

She's selfish and rude, her whole life revolves around a boy, her whole ambition is to be with Naruto and to cook and clean for him.

And now to the games, I had to Google it, because I haven't played it, but:

This is another injustice towards her, because it hypes her character out to be strong and hype her potential just to leave her weak and without accomplishing a thing.

And don't get me wrong, I know that games are supposed to allow the player to decide who wins and who loses based on players skills, but...

That game came out in 2004, by then the manga was at the end of OG Naruto, so looking at how the games are trying to portray her, we (as viewers or players) can assume that she will be strong someday, and yet she never was.

We were led to believe that her father will see her as strong and with "great potential", but Hanabi is still the one that will be the head of Hyuga clan, and Neji was the one who is the strongest (and we know it, it was stated).

"Surpassing the main branch" and "For the brilliant blood of the Hyuga to be flowing within a child who cannot become an heir what natural talent".

And then, Hiashi that had pure hatred (or at least the thought about them as a less than/slaves to main family) towards the branch PREFERRED TO TRAIN NEJI AND HINATA WAS THERE TO BRING THE TEA.

It's pure embarrassment. 🤷‍♀️

Vox looks so unimpressed/uninterested. I know it supposed to be him confused, but like his face expression reads uninterested/unimpressed.

I found a song that gives heavy Radio Guard Vox vibes (pre Radio Guard canon too actually owo).

The song is called Look At Me by Jann. The lyrics of the song gen just scream how Vox fell into his own greed and obsession for power, falling into Valentino's clutches at the start of the song, and when the more sombra tone/melody comes in, it sounds like Vox trying to bargain with himself while he remembers the times him and Alastor shared, which I believe is through the 2nd verse to the very end. And the 2nd verse lyrics just scream a Vox, Valentino and Alastor interaction pre Radio Guard stuff. Like Alastor is talking to them at a overlord party, trying to polite, maybe even teasing Vox a little bit, nothing serious or rude, he's trying to be playful by saying "If I were you I would make sure that he keeps both his feet on the ground" like a tongue and cheek way to say sometimes Vox's ambitions get the best of him before Vox snaps at him with "Nobody asked. Please shut your mouth" which catches both completely off guard.

Cue the rest of the 2nd part of the song being Vox bargain with himself that he likes this lifestyle before the 2nd post chorus comes in like he is remembering a time when him and Alastor were close and Alastor let him on his radio show. The two laughing and goofing around live on air.

Before the bridge of the song comes in, it being Valentino, demanding Vox to look at him and him alone at Vox not being able to breath in this scernio and trying to escape Valentino's firm grasp on his face maybe. And like the finally chorus of the song being more in the present of the show, like maybe a bit before the pilot of Hazbin, and like, if this were like an animation, flashes of different scenes, of everything crashing on Vox, the guilt finally breaking through, him outside heaving or being sick, him locking himself away in his room, trying to escape both Valentino and Velvet. Until the final end of the song plays and its when Vox and Alastor reunite, Vox over the moon and Alastor processing it all, before Vox looks taken aback and Alastor is hissing in rage.

Something that doesn't make sense but compels me.

- Me and @bunnwich where talking about that troupe where characters get turned into lil kids and interact and I was like hmm. I imagine it's due to some alchemy class potion mishap!

In my mind Yume is 9ish here and Idia is 10.

Anyways on to my random thoughts: (warning long)

Younger Idia Headcanons:

Idia’s age would still be post losing Ortho and since it took him about 2 years to make Ortho, this would be an Idia that had been living with robot Ortho for only 1 year.

Because of that I think he wouldn’t be surprised to see Ortho, but I think he would be amazed at how fair his design has come since he first invented him. Since it is a good 9 years later. I imagine Ortho has been through a lot of updates in the past 11 years.

I think he’d really just want to ignore everyone and spend time with Ortho.

Speaking of others he IS SO ANXIOUS AND AWKWARD AND AFRAID. (the big 3 a’s). He’s hiding behind Ortho whenever he can. I don’t imagine at this age Idia had any friends, let alone friends his own age. And he probably had never even left the Isle of Lament yet.

His only interactions with people I imagine were online. So everything here at NRC is new and overwhelming.

Hides his hair because he KNOWS everyone will think its freaky. He wears his hood whenever he can, until he realizes everyone knows about it and someone tells him that it looks pretty.

But when he’s not shy and anxious you know he’s being a shithead. I imagine being raised on the internet for two years as an impressionable kid probably made him a real troll. And why I don’t think he would be rude to adults, people around the same age as him better be prepared to be roasted if they push him or try and get him to do something he doesn't want to. (Ortho excluded.)

Despite that I think some people would say (when he's not gushing about his hobbies) that he acts mature for his age. He definitely strikes me as a kid who had to grow up fast in some regards. And that playing with Ortho was his only outlet to actually being a kid. And when Ortho was gone he fell hard into using games/anime as an escapism to try and capture that feeling once again, but never quite could.

He probably finds it a little weird that Ortho acts a bit older, since he’s supposed to be the older brother. But I think he would be too happy to see Ortho to really care.

Strikes me as a low maintenance kid that’s used to taking care of himself. Just give him a corner and a computer/console and he’s good.

Idia's hair is at a weird phase where there's a lot of it but it's not long so he pins it back otherwise it will get in his face.

Doesn’t understand why Ortho is trying to get him to spend time with others, especially the few kids around here that are his age…?

Younger Yume headcanons:

Yume turning younger is an interesting concept, as they don’t have any real memories of their past. In a strange way this would carry over even when they are younger. Like they know they had parents but can’t recall where they live? Everything feels fuzzy and it kinda scares them that they can’t remember. If anything this would just be a glimpse into their past, but not the full picture.

Yume is a very shy kid. Like Idia they are hiding behind (younger) Yuuta

While I imagine Idia finds it easier to talk to adults, Yume is the opposite. They much rather talk to kids around their age and they get intimidated easily by adults.

Too young to have their glasses at this point in time.

That kid that carries a stuffed animal everywhere. They get very distressed when they first turn until Sam offers them a free toy on the house.

Mostly an okay kid, but if you try to give them medicine they will kick and scream and cry like their life is on the line.

Doesn’t like rough housing and doesn’t know how to hold back so they will kick you as hard as they can if someone takes it too far.

Picky eater to the max.

Hates being yelled at and will take everything personally and cry.

They get a little scared by Grim at first, but once he tones down the “minion stuff” a little bit. Yume warms up to him fast. They think he’s a stuffed animal.

Scared of the ghosts at first until they tone down the silly scares.

Tries to be a very independent kid who doesn’t like asking for help, but is frankly too small to do a lot of things.

Curious about a lot of things and can get distracted easily. So you have to watch them bc if you are not careful they will wander off to go explore.

Asks questions about EVERYTHING.

Holds on to peoples shirts instead of their hands. When asked why they just shrug and say “it's what they were told to do”.

When there is no were for them to sit, your lap is not safe, it is free real estate

Hates sudden loud noises. Terrified of heights, but loves piggy back rides and being carried.

Scared of the dark, hates being in complete darkness (if only they had a nightlight hmm...)

Thinks Vil is a real life barbie.

Tries to get Jamil to hold some bugs.

Is impressed by Ace’s magic tricks.

No beastman is safe, Yume wants to touch their ears, pretty please?

Hates Crowely and thinks he is a monster bc of his get up.

Both the lil nerds:

I imagine Yume would be a little intimidated by Idia bc he acts more mature then he is sometimes, but they hear him talk about video games and their eyes light up and suddenly they follow him around like a little duckling everywhere.

Idia hates it at first. And wants nothing to do with them. They make him really nervous. So he kind of just tries to ditch them all the time. But then eventually realizes that’s is very similar to how Ortho would follow him around when they were younger and is surprised that he doesn’t mind it. Yume is pretty cool to talk to and likes to listen to him talk about his favorite games and shows. They don’t look at him like he’s weird or annoying, they actually look...really happy when he starts rambling. And when they look very cute and get excited with him it makes him feel like the coolest person in the world.

He doesn’t know how to feel about that, so he tries not to think about it.

Think Idia also kinda has that older brother's instinct when he sees lil Yume trip or fall over or try to do something they're too small to do bc Yume is too stubborn.

I have a headcanon that straight up Idia can’t tie his shoes so he wears slip ons and velcro. So he got super embarrassed when his shoe came untied and he had to admit that he didn’t know how to tie them. And even more embarrassed when Yume made him sit down and easily tied them for him.

Yume is light up Skechers while Idia is velcro Skechers solidarity

When Yume finds out that Idia's hair is blue and lights up they think its the most amazing and pretty thing ever and gush about how they once had shoes that glowed in the dark too!

HEY, WELCOME BACK! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! I wanted to request a trans! reader, (ftm) and he's a new student at saiki's school lmao 😭 but anyways, he's like, a himbo. And the only thing that's going on in his mind is the song 'hot in here's by Nelly LOL, I want saiki to be like "wtf" and he's just super weirded out and tries to stay away from the reader as much as possible, but he's gets dragged around by his friends and they invite the reader to a park or something. And the rest is up to you!

A/N: Sorry this took so long and it's a bit shorter than I wanted it to be, I love writing for Saiki and trans readers but I guess I was a little stumped on what to write for this one

Saiki x Trans guy!Reader

Warnings: I had to add some angst s o a little bit of misgendering.

I had been at my new school for about a week and I was already bored. My notebooks that were supposed to be for notes were proof enough of this because they were full to the brim of doodles and little drawings of random people I had imagined. I hadn't talked to many people yet but that was fine with me! They were all nice, some being a little annoying to be around, but I didn't want to make a fool of myself, which I was pretty good at.

The last bell rang and I raced up, almost tripping as I grabbed my notebook as I made my way to the door. I had planned a little movie marathon for myself and I was so excited to get it started. It'd be nice to have someone to watch it with but I wouldn't let that start me from watching my favorite feel-good movies.

"Hey [Y/n]!"

I turn full circle as one of my classmates with who I shared a couple of classes, ran up to me, almost knocking me over with how quickly he approached.

"My buddies and I were going to hang out, did you want to come with?"

I had seen his friends before, Kaido, Aren, and Saiki. Often Teruhashi and Yumehara would join them because it was apparent to me that at least Teruhashi had a crush on one of them. I had talked to all of them at one point, not for long because I didn't want to come off as weird for trying to befriend them anyway, but I had never talked to Saiki.

Saiki seemed pretty cool, even though I hadn't ever heard him say more than one or two words at a time, I felt like there was something about him, and with how his friends would always swarm around him, I probably wasn't wrong. Though anytime I tried to say hi or ask him about his day or even introduce myself, he was suddenly busy or in a conversation with Kaido or Nendou. I didn't mind though, he seemed busy enough.

"Sure Nendou! I didn't really have any plans." I said, grinning at him. Sure I'd have to push back my movie marathon but that could wait, I wouldn't mind.

Nendou lead me to where his friends were, talking the entire way about how there was some sort of event going on and how he had asked if I could come and all his friends were pretty excited about the idea.

"It was weird, Saiki didn't seemed to thrilled." Nendou shrugged, "Though my buddies not the most talkative person ever so I'm not worried about it."

"Well I'm sure we'll have a good time." I say as we exit school, and I see 4 out of the 5 of Nendou's friends, Saiki the only one not there. It was a little strange how he wasn't there but I was sure he probably was already making his way to the park.

On the walk there the five of them make small talk with me, and I tell them about the previous school I went to, and my pets, even showing them pictures of said furry animals. They were all pretty fun to be around and even gushed over my pets, not that they wouldn't.

"There's a whole bunch of vendors and games in the main square." Aren said, as we finally made it into the park, "Though I swear Saiki would be here already."

We all look around quickly, but there was no Saiki.

"I'm sure he's probably in the square by now," Kaidou said, breaking the silence.

"I'll catch up with you guys, I'm going to run quickly to the restroom, there should be one around here somewhere." I muse to myself before I look around and spot the smaller building that I was sure would be the restroom. "I'll be right back!"

I quickly beelined my way to the building, humming under my breath as I got to the restroom, quickly running in to do my business.

After I was done, I opened the door outside and saw a flash of pink turn the corner, and my eyes widened, that was probably Saiki. I rush after whoever I saw and after a good minute of me playing catchup, they had stopped.

"Hey Saiki," I panted, catching my breath as I was not the best at running with my stupid binder on.

He turned, and for a second I thought he looked suprised to see me.

"Your friends are here by the way." I hum, finally standing back up, "They're pretty cool y'know, they were also looking for you earlier."

I swear I saw him roll his eyes and I had to hold back a snort, "I don't have to go, Nendou invited me but if it's going to make you not want to go I don't have to go."

Before he could reply, someone tapped me on the shoulder and I spun around, face to face with the older man who had come into the restroom after me.

"You dropped this ma'am... You know there's also a woman's restroom here right? It was just around the corner from the men's room." The man pressed my phone into my hand which must have fallen out when I rushed after Saiki.

I took my phone back and dumbfoundedly watched as the man turned and left. Not only did I get misgendered when I felt like I had passed so well for once, and felt good to be outside, but it happened in front of Saiki who was already the last person I wanted anything weird to happen in front of.

"Nevermind," I sigh, slipping my phone into my back pocket as I turn around, my eyes on the ground, "Just tell them I had to run home."

"That dude's an asshole."

I looked up and saw Saiki's expression. It was the first actual expression I had seen from him, and he didn't look very happy about what just happened.

"It was my fault for going in there." I shrugged, "It's fine. I'll forget about it in a little bit."

"To pee? Not your fault at all." Saiki stared at me for a second. "Did you still want to go hang out with my friends? They're pretty good at cheering people up."

"Really? You'd come with?" I let out a little laugh as he stares at me, "What? I feel like I'm the last person you'd want to hang out with."

"No, that's not true." He says, "I'm not good at talking to people."

"I get that." I hum, "But I'm not either, did you want to go be bad at talking to people together? Aren said there's a bunch of different vendors and stuff, we can see if there's any good stuff. I just hope they got some sweet stuff."

He snorts at that, "Alright, let's go then, we don't want to keep them waiting."

"I can see what your friends seen in you now." I say as we start walking to the middle of the park. "Oh. That sounded weird, I promise I didn't mean it like that. I just meant you're comforting to be around."

"Thanks. You're not the first person to say that." He says, and I grin at him.

We continue the rest of the walk in peace, and I keep my eyes on the ground. I didn't really want to be here, but I didn't want to leave, as long as I got to be around Saiki, I was pretty sure I'd be fine.

"Thanks. For what you said back there."

He didn't respond, just nodded, and that felt good enough for me.

- much as I adore the spooky and the strange, any film that veers into remotely scary territory, or horror in general, that shit scars me down to the cellular level.

- Power to everyone who can disengage/absorb that stuff healthily because I sure as fuck don't and doubt I ever will. Anyway.

- mum buys me the black cauldron and thinks nothing of it. It's Disney, right?

- anyway yeah uh suffice to say boy golly gee I'd never seen *that* many skeletons animated before. Think my little brother started crying at some point.

- but honestly, something about the films mad dichotomy of attempted cutesy fantasy with grim dark backdrop and off kilter humour enamoured me. And I found myself wanting *more* of the dark parts of the film.

- (still early the full cauldron born scenes were cut. So goddamn salty)

- the Horned King became a lynchpin of fascination, something about his eerie voice, his apathetic yet menacing mannerisms and his degraded appearance really drew me in. Esp his summoning and death scenes.

- I think I started drawing skeletons soon after and they're still the easiest thing for me to draw.

- over decade later when I was depressed as all fuck, I rewatched the film and found myself only really enjoying his scenes, in part because he was the only relatable villain to me at the time. (Eternally tired, quietly dramatic, quick to anger and dismissal. A smorgasbord of things to distract myself from feeling like I was actively decomposing too at the time. Brains are wild.)

- now I like to imagine quietly helping him get to a better place same as I've managed to do :) who needs therapy when you have imaginary lich time.

As for self insert funky times:

- rather than imagining myself in the dark ages, mostly because despite living in the UK my knowledge of that time period is just awful, I imagine a modern setting

- crucially tho the events of the film still happened exactly as shown.

- in this setting my s/I has moved to Wales and accidentally rediscovered the -broken- cauldron, and the remains of the castle. Time itself rusted the old thing and it cracked, letting HK's disheveled soul slip free.

- my S/I is an amateur ecologist, with interest in geology and paleontology and history. (So just me. Straight up me. I can't even pretend here) Once she figures out she's effectively haunted, HK's presence is akin to a field day.

- will she attempt to resurrect him properly? Eh who knows. Maybe. I'm a real fucking sucker for ghosts, esp partial possession or soul bonds.

- magic exists still in this setting, it's just mostly forgotten and thus dismissed. Of course my s/I has latent magic because of course, and I love the idea of HK teaching her as a pseudo bonding activity.

- love just watching HK be bamboozled and overwhelmed by the modern world too. Show this lich a toaster someone-

- very low stakes very chill, just two lonely fools trying to rebuild their 'lives' together. Probably the most weirdly cottage core of my selfships if I'm honest. With more dead things.

even though i always talk about punching them exploding them whatever (its deserved) theyre both soooo so precious to me and ive loved them for ages now ^_^ i’m super excited for our anniversaries, esp mine with childe since its upcoming in a momth!! i love him so so so much (fine i’ll admit it) and he’s just super important to me... a huge comfort, he’s helped me a lot in the past 2.7? years i’ve known him — i love everything about him his lore his weird ass model his gameplay his animations his voice his quests and events and his art blah blah blah GOD i am so in love with my husband, even calling him that is enough to like fuck me up lool

if you don’t know about them (good) one is a 6,000+ year old god and the other is errr some top ranking member of an organization trying to. steal thingies from said gods... childe has tried to flood zl’s city but its okay i forgive him on zl’s behalf. um... theres a lot to get into, whatever, other than that they’re both very normal and very silly!!

ok so fuck. i know i said i had thoughts but ah to put them into words FUCK

disclaimer: i’ve read the manga and seen 1998 trigun so i know whats up.

The Tesla scene. god. they made it much more gruesome and i loved it. KEEPING HER ALIVE ooooh that hurts. but i wish they had a whole episode to explain tesla, what the humans did to her and how this drastically changed the twins’ POV of humanity and their place in the world. bc god that scene was only like less than 2 mins long and i dont think they did her much justice. maybe they will dive into it more but i doubt it since they have to deal with A GIANT PLANT MONSTER

that thing is gorgeous btw. the animation style is so good, that doesnt need to be said but god the studio is using the medium so well. im sure some botany fanatic is gushing about the flora symbolism. and i’ve no clue how July will perish now. anyway, vash is gonna feel SO guilty after this. oh goodness.

Wolfwood wasn’t in a hurry to leave. he didnt want to get involved but he wasn’t rushing to the exit to move on with his life. he was hanging around just in case. of what? idk. this tristamp WW is a bit more mysterious for me and i like it. He didnt make Meryl leave either. didnt bother to stop her. that says so much about him.

oh and poor meryl. for a sec i saw the vines unleash in the room and thought it was gonna be like that volume where she sees what Vash’s feels/sees bc she touches his feathers. i got so scared. bc damn it. every moment in the manga has its impact and trying to shuffle them around to fit this new story hurts me personally /sarcasm. again, i LOVE this new show. im thankful for this new cake but sometimes i see remnants of the manga and i miss the original story. anyway, i cant wait to see what will happen to July, WW and Meryl.

also wtf happy birthday twins i fucking guess. idk if it was hinted before but what a jumpscare. but not a terrible jumpscare as the fucking plants being impregnated by Vash or Knives of the fucking core or whatever the fuck. like yeah. i know the metaphors of motherhood and shit but fucking. i didnt need that imagery personally. and i dont wanna think about it anymore. yall can have it. whatever. it just makes me uncomfy, nothing serious lol

it seems like they keep touching, briefly, on plot points from the manga but not exploring them fully. and i get it. its hard to explain anything from og trimax in 22 minutes, much less 12 episodes. and also i cant blame them so much. maybe watching this live is skewing my view of the entirety of the show. i am definitely re watching this when its finished. i fucking love trigun. and so i won’t comment much on the event order or whatever. i should just let it go. Its a new show with remnants of the manga and its so cool.

.anyway last episode is the day before my birthday so yipee! bday gift for me lol

Sometimes Labels Shift (Mini Fic Series 43)

Fandom: Sanders Sides

Relationships: Virgil & Logan, Virgil & Patton, Logan/Patton

Characters: Virgil, Logan, Patton

Summary: Logan enjoyed Virgil’s graduation ceremony. Everyone else enjoys the after party.

“Ugh,” said Virgil when they entered the mall. “Air conditioning. Finally.”

Patton glanced over and smiled at him. He himself was relieved to be in the air conditioning after having sat in the heat for over 2 hours and then taking pictures outside the school. The drive from the graduation ceremony to the mall had been too short for the car’s air condition to manage to cool it down, so coming inside was the first relief they’d had.

Virgil had removed his cap and gown after taking pictures. Between the cap and his sweat, his purple tinged hair was sticking to his head a bit, not that he seemed to care at this point.

“I’m going to eat so much pizza,” Virgil continued.

“He doesn’t get to choose the type of pizza we’re getting, right?” Remy stage whispered to Patton.

“Oh, Logan’s buying me whatever pizza I want today because he made me sit through that.”

“You will be glad you went to your graduation ceremony later in your life,” Logan insisted. Patton wasn’t sure if that was true for Virgil, but Patton had gotten to get a lot of cute pictures of him in his gown, so he was content with having sat in a stuffy auditorium for a couple of hours.

“I will not,” Virgil argued back. “Which is why I’m getting shrimp and olive pizza today.”

“We’re buying our own pizza,” Remy said to Emile.

Patton smiled as Remy, Virgil, and Logan started arguing about what pizza was going to be ordered once they got to the restaurant.

They were about halfway to the restaurant which was on the other side of the mall when Patton’s eyes landed on a sign.

“Oh!” Patton said, stopping in front of the Build-a-Bear. “Virgil, do you remember when we first came here to buy you stuff.”

“I do, Pat,” Virgil said, glancing at the storefront. “Shadow’s on my desk right now.”

Patton smiled.

“Patton no,” Logan said as Patton grabbed Virgil’s arm. “We-” Patton pulled Virgil into the store to the boy’s amusement.

“They have little graduation caps!” Patton said, enthused.

“Yes, I can see that,” Virgil said with a wide smile.

“We have to get you one!”

“Patton please…” Logan said.

“We have to get him one, Logan,” Patton insisted. “Or two. Or three!”

“One,” Logan said.

“Or three!”

“Patton…”

Patton paid him no mind, linking his arm with Virgil’s who was grinning widely. “Take it as payback for the two hours I sat in that auditorium,” Virgil said.

“I thought that was the pizza…”

“The pizza’s worth, like, 20 minutes max of that,” Virgil said, sticking out his tongue.

“Come on, let’s pick some out,” Patton said.

They walked through the aisles looking at all of the choices. Remy and Emile joined them, but then wandered off to whisper to each other amongst the shelves.

In the end, Patton did make them get three (sort of four), though they were part of a special set. The set was a plush bird’s nest, and you got to pick three birds to go in it. The demonstrative pictures mostly had birds of all the same type in each nest, but Patton asked an employee if they could pick out their own birds and they said yes.

After much debate, Patton and Virgil picked out three birds for the nest. Easy enough to choose, they picked out a bluebird first and dressed it up in a little vest and glasses. Then, they chose a dove and put it in a doctor’s coat and last, they picked out a slightly smaller crow which they dressed up in the graduation outfit Patton had pointed out before.

“It’s perfect!” Patton gushed. “I love them.”

Despite his headshake, Logan smiled as he paid for the stuffed animals.

“Anyway,” Virgil said once the new stuffed animals were paid for. “Shrimp pizza?”

Logan sighed.

Emile and Remy were already waiting outside for them with their own bag.

“What did you two get?” Patton asked curiously.

“It’s actually a present for you,” Remy said with a huge smile. Emile was looking away, clearly trying (and failing) to pretend to not be a part of this.

“For me?” Patton asked, confused as he took the offered bag.

“Well, really it’s going to be a present for all of us, I’m sure,” Remy said with a wink.

Patton frowned and reached into the bag. He immediately laughed. “Aw!” he said. “A Bluebird teddy bear!”

“I hate you,” Logan immediately said to Remy.

“I’ll love it forever and ever!” Patton declared.

Virgil laughed. Logan sighed.

Silver Talks AniManga (07/05/23)

jump is finally back baby let's go!!! next week marks the last week of this serialization round but very much looking forward to the tall girl

ended up not watching more anime like I said I would last week, there were still 4 more I wanted to check out, but currently watching 5 airing which I think is pretty good considering I hadn't watched anything in almost 4 years, plus all those other shows I wanted to check out are all manga adaptations so I'm putting no hope in them being fully adapted so I don't feel as bad putting them aside

I want to catch up on another manga next but, after that, I want to go through my "watching" list and clean it up of stuff that's been left hanging there for these years, and then make my way through stuff I wanted to see from seasons I missed in that time ANYWAY

Uma Musume - Road to the Top Ep4 (Finale)

what can I say that I haven't already. I love it obviously. I rate things on my mal for personal enjoyment but I usually have a "real" rating for it (like I did for jigokuraku not that long ago), but I can't do it in this case, horses just got too much power over me. I think I teared up in all 4 episodes (maybe not 1 but). it's good, period. the art is good, the animation isn't that special most of the time, but it has a lot of little character acting moments that hit really good, and let's not forget that maenami cut I was gushing about. the music isn't memorable but it served it's purpose, and the voice acting was really good ofc, I especially loved tokui sora's performance as opera, it's nice to see her getting to flex her range instead of always being yazawa nico, but ofc ayabe and topro were really good too. anyway really good, left me really hungry for S3 coming later this year tho I still have to go and watch S2 and even finish S1 tehe

honestly this ep felt a lot like a finale, tho there's still 7 more left anyway the explosion scene was pretty cool also megumin x yunyun is quite good, good to see they'll keep feeding me since they'll be goofing around together for a bit longer

good episode (ofc), was wondering where they'd take it with risa being such a daddy's girl but she surprised me also the insert song was beyond the starlight (deresute's 1st anni song) so I was losing my gourd as soond as I heard the first couple notes god bless

Mashle Ep5

decent episode, dot's explosion magic looked decent enough, tho speaking of him I didn't expect him to sound like this at ALL, I thought it was gonna be something more high pitched like bakugou. also they teased the lang baddies, which is when this starts shifting more into an action series with a sprinkle of comedy instead of the opposite, which is nice, even if they're all over the op lol

nice little ep, the roy scene before this pic was cute. next ep should be more exciting, including the appearance of a brand new mon, like riko's pendant turtle from before

Jigokuraku Ep6

good episode, was really nice to finally see sagiri's first time to shine, and now they're finally at the village, I forgot about the rokurouta fight so I thought they were getting here earlier tehe. it also ended on the gay sex scene so that was very nice I figured the village was gonna be the cliffhanger but that's a really good one too, they really went IN on animating the tongue-fu, anyway curious to see who'll voice mei, she's very cute

that line in the pic below is the title of the one shot for this btw anyway. nice first chapter, the art is really striking with it's thick outlines which makes sense since the author was an assistant to matsui too. it's also a period piece which would be funny if it was cause of matsui too. good solid first chap, no complaints for me, did it's job of setting up the story, the main character and his motivations without getting too distracted with other things. we haven't had a sports manga in a while (I don't count blue box as one) so we'll see how long it'll stay around, or how sportsy it'll be in the first place lol

THANK Y'ALL FOR THE ASKS! hope both of your weekends are going good!!! NOW. RAYMAN. let me take you on a JOURNEY through the years, powered by my autism.

let's start off by asking ourselves a question like we're french philosophers. who is rayman?

rayman is the creation of a man named michel ancel. ancel had always loved videogames, and he had spent much of his life doodling little characters and coming up with ideas for them. around 1992, ancel created his favourite character: rayman!

rayman ended up being left with no arms or legs in order to be easier to animate due to, y'know, several technical limitations at the time. this ended up being a fantastic decision, because not only was it unique and creative, but it opened up for so many more possibilities than normal in regards to his moveset! ah, but i'm getting ahead of myself.

around that same time, development began on a game starring ancel's new character. at first it was planned to be released on the super nintendo, but this was scrapped and it got reworked into an atari jaguar game instead. and such, in 1995, the world was introduced to our platforming limbless wonder ❤

following the release of the first rayman game, it was quickly realized how much potential this series had for its future. tons of edutainment games were created, the game got ported to a whole bunch of different platforms, and eventually, a sequel was developed for the n64 and pc in 1999. i present to you, rayman 2: the great escape!

i would insert a joke here about "Rayman had a rough transition into 3d" but that couldn't be further from the truth. rayman's transition into 3d got nothing but praise! this game has been included in multiple lists for the greatest games of all time. suffice to say, this is a common favourite among rayman fans, and for good reason!

a fun fact about this game is that it has been ported to basically every console imaginable. it's like the doom of platforming. you could probably play rayman 2 on your calculator. rayman 2 microwave speedrun when?

anyways, during this time, a tv show was also in production! it unfortunately only got four episodes in before it was cancelled, but it's still great fun. billy west voices rayman, it's hilarious, i recommend giving it a watch. it sort of follows the scrapped plot that the original rayman 2 had.

before we get to my BELOVED rayman 3, i want to point out one port of rayman 2 in particular that's interesting: rayman revolution, released in 2000!

rayman revolution is the ps2 port of rayman 2, and let me tell you, it's got, like, hours worth of more content than the original game did. it SLAPS. in my opinion, it's my favourite version of rayman 2, but some people feel it's a bit over-bloated with all the new added content. i think it's awesome though. it's got an openworld hub world and everything!

anyways, moving on from rayman 2, we get to my FAVOURITE game in the entire franchise. i love this game so much, i could gush about it for HOURS. RAYMAN 3: HOODLUM HAVOC.

I LOVE RAYMAN 3 SO MUCH, Y'ALL. IT'S INSANE. i literally have practically the entire game memorized in my head.

so for this game, michel ancel actually wasn't directly involved with a lot of it. he did, however, help out with a new redesign of our titular main character! this was 2003, everything had to have that early 2000's edge, and rayman was no exception. so he donned a hoodie, got some sick new kicks, and got a fresh sharp new haircut. and he looks SO GOOD Y'ALL but i'm not going to go into how handsome i think he is because i'm gay enough already. BUT SERIOUSLY, COME ON, JUST LOOK AT HIM, HE'S SO BADASS.

although rayman 3 didn't do as well as rayman 2 did, it wasn't considered a BAD game or anything (i will fight anyone who thinks this is a bad game 😤😤😤), and so the franchise continued... and we got, uh. rayman raving rabbids, in 2006.

i'm using an older ps2 cover here purely because i think it looks cooler but the game was primarily developed with the wii in mind seeing as it ended up being a party game. initially, it was developed as rayman 4, and it was supposed to be a platformer like the others (i could rant about the scrapped prototype for a WHILE) but they tossed that concept aside because they wanted to incorporate the wii playstyle into it.

i am not a huge fan of the rabbids. they're like the minions before the minions existed. i actually didn't even know they were in the same franchise as rayman until i got into the rayman franchise, because they ended up branching off and ubisoft favoured rabbids games over rayman... so he sort of got abandoned for a while. in the period between 2006 to 2011 we got some rabbids games. i'm not going to go over them because 100% honestly i do not care for them a whole lot HAHA.

well, 2011 rolls around, and our boy rayman is back in the spotlight with RAYMAN ORIGINS!

despite its title, it's a direct sequel to rayman 3, not a prequel (though it was originally supposed to be, and it was gonna detail rayman's past and how he grew into the hero that he was, but that idea was put aside last minute).

rayman's returned to his 2d platformer roots and he's here to just go through goofy shenanigans and kick some ass and i can respect that!

in 2013, we got a sequel to rayman origins, rayman legends! another great game. i played this one with two of my friends and i had so much fun.

both really good games!

anyways for the next near-decade we just got a bunch of mobile runner games that recycled origins and legends assets. they're fine, nothing noteworthy.

nowadays, ubisoft hasn't paid much mind to rayman anymore, despite him being the mascot that got them where they are today, and they still seem to favour the rabbids, considering that they got in a game with MARIO before rayman did. but it seems like ubisoft hasn't completely forgotten about their old friend... :D

let me tell you. 2023 cannot come fast enough.
