Birds vs Sirens

This is a concept for a Birds of Prey film in the DCU. This film will be apart of phase five. This film will pick up from the events of the Gotham City Sirens films.

Synopsis:Barbara Gordon forms a female team with of superheroes to fight against villains and corruption.

Rating: PG-13

Runtime: 2 Hour 14 minutes

Plot:

Catwoman break into S.T.A.R. Labs and take data and a prototype for a mutant plant species.

Black Canary meets Batgirl in the Clock Tower and the two go over the Sirens moves from the last three nights. Batgirl tells her they’ll need help, since the Sirens are stealing more data and advance plant samples.

The two find the Huntress in Gotham’s Little Italy picking off mobster. Batgirl tells her if they work on this she cannot kill anyone. Huntress rejects the offer and Black Canary uses information on the man who killed her family, she knows where the leader is but she won’t tell Huntress until she helps.

Huntress after losing a surprise attack on Black Canary reluctantly agrees.

The Sirens make base in the old Gotham Zoo and decide to make their plan know. Ivy sends advances plant mutants to kill city officials, and without them each Siren can claim a territory of power,police, city hall, and power over the people (Wayne Enterprises) .

The Clocktower sends distress signals, for GCPD,City Hall and Wayne Enterprises. Black Canary tells them they have to work together to stop the sirens. Canary goes after Ivy at WE, Huntress goes after Selina at city hall and Batgirl goes after Harley at GCPD.

The Birds regroup at the Clock Tower to plant their next move with the Sirens still on the loose. Barbara has to convince Canary and Huntress why it’s important they work together.

Spoiler provides intel for the Birds and Barbara ask her to help stop the Sirens.

The Birds and the Sirens have a final battle at the water plant before Ivy’s spores can corrupt the water supply.

Ivy is sent to Arkham, Selina is sent Blackgate and Harley was going to be sent to Arkham before Amanda Waller arrives and takes her back to Belle Reve. And tells her she has a mission for her if she wants to survive her sentence.

Batgirl and the birds form a more permanent team. Now know has the Birds of Prey.

Spoiler-free Birds of Prey movie review

I just watched the Harley Quinn movie, and it was GOOD!

Every single one of my mutuals complained about it, so I waited three years to see it.

IT WAS AWESOME!

Usually, comic accuracy is what I judge superhero movies on the most, but the good writing and very detail-oriented fight choreography made up for it.

My ONLY complaint is that they should have replaced "Cassandra Cain" with Stephanie Brown. Same actress, same personality, just the changed name.

If you’re into the whole natural aging that’s fine. I agree that no one should have to spend their whole life constantly preening and covering themselves up in 10lbs of makeup. If they don’t want to. You’re allowed to grow your hair heart long and snarled and gray, you’re allowed to free the titties — seriously, I do that a lot. No bras or binders if I’m at home.

You could even go live in a dirt hut in the middle of the Smokey Mountains and have a mud bath.

But here’s the thing some people enjoy makeup. That doesn’t mean they wear it every day or reconstruct their face like a mask with contouring. As far as I’m concerned, those people are extremists. With probably very bad self-esteem issues.

So maybe you oughta work on building people up a bit instead of dictating their appearance, yeah?

Some people enjoy being sexualized and that includes men, women, and enbies.

And ffs do not turn this into a conversation about how problematic the character Harley Quinn is. Because she isn’t. Saying otherwise only goes to show that

You missed the entire point of Birds Of Prey and her origin story. BoP has a stronger feminist message than Captain Marvel. That message is that women should build each other up in order to take down the patriarchy. Which is why it has a reputation as “misandrist trash” among the incels.

You haven’t picked up a comic book or tuned into a Batman animated film in about 10 years. Harley is an ANTIHERO with her own set of ethically grey morals. She has been problematic in the past but she has also —

-Owned an animal shelter

-Worked as a psychiatrist while working to overcome her own mental illness

-Placed her daughter, Lucy, in her sister’s care so that the Joker would have no access to her

-Stopped the Joker from blowing up a fucking orphanage

She’s even an honorary member of the Batfam because she has helped them solve crimes. And annoyed the shit outta them in the process.

Why, because Bruce Wayne — a man who has gotten two of his children killed and doesn’t believe in therapy — has a better sense of empathy, and a better understanding of the psychological ramifications of domestic abuse, manipulation tactics, and cult brainwashing headgames than anyone

Who guilt trips people for wearing the clothing & makeup that they want to wear

And I am not intentionally sexualizing mental illness in anyone. My point is only that

The character Harley Quinn enjoys being sexualized.

Yeah, I know Margot Robbie did not enjoy it as much and that is why she was an executive producer on Birds Of Prey, and if you watch the movie you will see that Harley is a lot more covered up in BoP than in Suicide Squad 2016. In fact, one of the complaints mostly commonly mentioned in the hateful reviews for the film is that “Harley wasn’t hot enough anymore.” My own step-father said that when we walked out of the cinema, and I had to stop myself from smacking him.

Sadly, dressing in uncomfortable outfits often comes hand-in-hand with acting gigs and I think that all actors should have more say over their character wardrobes. Hollywood, however, tends disagree.

And if anyone has any objections to Pinhead’s presence, I seriously suggest you pick up a copy of Clive Barker’s Hellbound Heart.

Seriously, though, why do you think poledancing classes exist?

Do you think there are no strippers or models anywhere on this earth that don’t enjoy their work? Seriously?

Like I said, you can be into the natural aging thing.

But the second you start shaming people who aren’t into it, you become an asshole👌🏻

Sorry about the monster long essay about Harley Quinn — absolutely not the point of this post. But the second I list her as a feminist role model, my inbox gets fucking flooded with TERFy radfem bullshit.

I like the headcanon that the Birds Of Prey movie makers used the "wrong" batgirl by mistake coz they just randomly google searched batgirl character, read about Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown, and then unintentionally mixed up both these characters to give us the movie character named Cassandra that feels like she should be Stephanie Brown because they thought of Stephanie but remembered Cassie's name LOL

NB: I know that's not the case in reality. I just like to think this way coz it makes me giggle hehe

This headcanon is taken from Panda Redd videos. Check out his channel on YouTube. He makes amazing comic related content and the funniest skits! Even Panda felt that the character should be named Stephanie, and I feel like a lot of fans felt that way too, including even me with my very limited knowledge of batman related comic lore.

Either way, once you get over the fact that this Birds of Prey film is not really about Birds of Prey, you do enjoy the ride. All the characters are fun to watch, especially, Harley Quinn's chaotic ass LOL

I still feel like they should have just named the film as Harley Quinn or just remove BoP part and just kept The Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn. I get they wanted to keep BoP for maybe to...idk "justify" the presence of Black Canary, Hunter and Cassie but tbh, the fact that a film is set in Gotham City is enough reason for me. They could have given a Solomon Grundy cameo I would not even question it.
