Anyways, so Danny is actually kinda a literal star (this may be because his obsession is space or his the Ancient of Space). After millions of years, he is finally close to his (final) death and tries to find a nice place to do a version of a supernova. He has been helping people and exploring space for almost the entirety of his life, and he is ready to rest. That was until he found a small boy who had recently died wrong and ended up in the Infinite Realms as a halfa. The way too young boy, or Robin as the kid remembers, reminds Danny a lot of him when he first started out as a halfa (which at this point he is either a full on ghost or his human side is immortal). He knows he shouldn't be around him being so close to death, but he can't help but take in the little bird, helping him much like he wished he was helped when he was young.
They become very close, Jason Robin finally getting the parent figure he always longed for. Danny told himself he couldn't shouldn't get attached, but he ends up loving his little star much more than he's ever loved anybody (familial wise of course), and he's helped a lot of kids/people in those millions of years.
Eventually, though, Danny's time has come, and he doesn't know how to tell his starlight that he has to go. So when the young bird begins to be pulled back into his universe, the living realm calling for Robin once more, Danny lets him go even when the boy begs to stay. It's hard, but Danny knows it's for the best.
Jason returns to his universe as the much older version of himself, having grown since he'd died. He doesn't remember anything from his time in the Infinite Realms, but he can feel something missing, something he was longing for. The feeling drives him absolutely nuts, and he becomes more enraged than he has ever felt, and he doesn't know why. He blames it on coming back wrong, on the failure that was supposed to be his father (Bruce), of how he died so young because of how naive he was.
Though he'll never truly know that it's his ghost half grieving for somebody he no longer remembers. Somebody who he loved and who loved him back. The man he called father and spent all his time with, learning the mystifying ways of being a half ghost. The man who rambled about space, making him beg to go see it so he could see the beauty himself.
The star who shone so bright that the darkness he felt vanished, bringing a new galaxy of happiness he's never felt.
But now that the star was gone, the darkness had returned, its grim shadows bringing the worst in Jason as he unknowingly grieved.

I would love to see if reader had a crush on someone, like she was madly in love and yandere Jason Todd, Yandere Damian Wayne, and Yandere Tim Drake found out. (Maybe yandere dicks reaction as an extra)
I'm going to assume this is in the young adult reader verse. So platonic (though since you said she I will use fem pronouns), if you wish for a romantic yandere separate from that verse let me know.
Note to readers this is a side story to the young adult reader story. It is not directly canon due to the use of gender.
Warning: Fem reader, yandere, murder mentions, obsession, over protective,
Jason knew his Sparky had a lot of love to give, and he figured eventually you'd end up in love. Granted, he'd figured since you never were outside of the manor without someone at your side that you wouldn't get a chance to. Oh boy, was he wrong.
The person in question was some rich kid who attended almost every gala or party due to their parent's part in the various charities Bruce ran. He knew because he'd tried to get Bruce to stop inviting them just so this blooming romance would fade. Yes, he was a romantic at heart, but he couldn't agree to *you* being the one involved in romance. You were too young and naive.
Since he couldn't get them uninvited and his siblings were failing as your guards and keepers, it looked like he'd have to step in. Jason had learned that despite Bruce's moral high ground of no murder that whenever the Wayne princess was involved murder was sanctioned. It was the only exception Bruce made. Usually he'd be pissed someone was more worthy of being killed for by Bruce, hadn't Jason been worthy of vengeance? But his baby sister was someone he saw as worth killing for too so Bruce got a pass...this time.
If he were a more patient man, he'd have dragged Tim in on this; but he wanted this budding romance gone. So he took care of it. You'd mourn, probably have a few breakdowns, but you didn't need to know it was him. Gotham *was* dangerous. After all, it could have been anyone who shot them.
Damian was somehow the most protective of the brothers; which said a lot since the entire family was willing to kill for you. But Damian was the one willing to torture for you. But for his devotion, he expected you to give him attention. Ideally, he'd be the focus of your attention, but he realized he had to share with his family.
That being said, anyone outside of the family he absolutely refused to let you give them even an ounce of your attention. Exceptions were people like doctors or therapists. As your brother, he wanted you to be healthy after all. Still when your attention wavered from the family to some budding socialite from the Galas he was enraged.
Not at you, he realized as a human on so sheltered his darling sister would naturally crave bonds with others. Romantic ones were inevitable; and maybe some day when you were older and it was someone he could approve of he would have let it continue. This was not that. This was an unknown; one who would put you in more danger.
He debated what to do about this problem. Clearly he had to keep you both apart. Tripling his hovering in galas and the rare occasions you left the manor. But that wasn't enough for him. Damian knew a proper threat and maybe some light torture would scare them away from you, the only question was did he do it in his old league uniform or as Robin.
The league of shadows garb would ensure the continued positive image of the vigilantes, but the Robin costume would make people second guess the socialite and their sanity. Well he'd hoped so, then again he *was* known as the stabby Robin. League gear it was.
No matter your feelings for this person, Damian knew you'd get over them. You had him. You didn't truly need anyone else.
Tim was all for giving you online freedom. Or an illusion of it anyway. Everything you did was monitored, and any attempt to lash out and try and call for help was prevented by your device's new program. But you hadn't even tried that in months; he'd figured you'd finally stopped trying to rebel, but that wouldn't gain you any extra freedom.
Your emotional attachment to the new person was worrisome. The socialite had approached you and charmed you at an event when Dick was supposed to be watching you. From there, a small romance began budding online. A fact that was loathed by Tim. As your big brother he had to protect your honor.
He was saving physical retaliation for a last ditch option. Instead, he'd planned a mind game. Hacked phones and social media leaking the socialite's secrets. Bank accounts being flagged. Even forging a few criminal charges. Every bit of their life was going to suffer.
Some would say that was more cruel than simply physically handling them, but Tim knew those kind of things were far longer lasting. You would see the worst in them, and if that didn't keep you apart, then the way their life would burn would keep them too busy for you.
If all of that failed, Tim had no problem making them disappear.

hi hello it’s dc anon (again) <3 what u said about miyuki sort of being like damian kinda made me want to claw my eyes out because lord u are so right and u should be jailed for it.
and omg steph as the robin betta sounds like something she would definitely like, i also feel like the batkids would make fun of bruce for being the snail lmao i think u made the correct choice by making bruce the snail cuz it feels sooooo right (for some reason it reminded me of bruce and terry in batman beyond 😭😭) ohhhhh btw ur so right for counting duke as a robin i’m sick of people sidelining him and steph it sucks and is so stupid
now i just had a thought so please walk with me on this one…. miyuki and tee as damian and jon in supersons. that’s it. i’m pretty sure tee said in one chapter (maybe a few ??? i can’t remember correctly) that she has a wonderfam poster and i don’t think she’s mentioned supes but please just hear me out. the fact that tee feels like people think she’s naive and miyuki is (for a lack of better words) a bit of an ass sometimes is what i’m basing this on, what do we think ???
i can’t believe this got long AGAIN i’m so sorry for dumping all of this on u 😭😭😭
ps: i listened to the dgfh playlist and my god i’m so obsessed with real love song i can’t stop listening to it (not that i’m complaining tho). cant wait for the next update i’m so excited to see how things play out in the last chapter !!!
HAHAHAHAHA i try ^_^ honestly i hadn’t even realized that comparison until you mentioned miyuki might like damian the most out of all the robins and i think it makes a lot of sense!!!! they’re both… difficult difficult boys… LOLLLLL although i do think if we had canon teen miyuki and damian as he is now (like 14 or something right? in current canon?) damian would find him soooooo annoying LMFOWKKDKWKDJ and miyuki would be so unbearable. ah…. Them <3
under the cut once more since this also got long but i’ll say it again further down but i don’t mind the length of the asks at all!! i’m having a lot of fun with it so ^_^ don’t worry <333
ok good im glad! mostly im like… bruce is just so old now. like. if we wanted to be realistic with how the others are aging. he’s old as hell. ancient. decrepit one might say. so he’s the snail and robin is the betta. so there is that. and i must regretfully say i have not watched batman beyond but i am aware of it.. by proxy… like i know some of the details but. never seen it. so i trust u when u say that 🫡 and so glad to have another robin duke and robin steph truther among us!!!! so real!!!!
once again anon you are expanding my brain. so yes she did mention her wonderfam poster in hmm i believe. part 2. NO wait i’m lying. part 3. yes yes yes part 3. as for references to the supes… in previous parts no, however we do get one in the final part, part 6 ^_^ it isn’t about damian and jon and i’ll get to it in a sec but. this is food for thought.. i should also be so real and tell u i haven’t read supersons but i do have fairly secondhand knowledge about it and about damian and jon, both as friends and separately and. I LIKE IT. i genuinely… no yeah. Absolutely. especially as being part of those families like damian with bruce and the bats and jon and the other supers and lois… i’m fairly certain damian is as suspicious (or not SUSPICIOUS but like You know. like bruce is with clark sometimes) about kryptonians as bruce and i feel like That would be miyuki too. just like. Yeah. like he fits in with a gotham type scene and then tee with metropolis. and like you say. she would also be in that position of being seen as naive but i think that’s how clark is in general, just very hopeful and a big believer in humanity so EXACTLY i GET it i GET it… it would be such a fun dynamic for them too i think. Getting up to shenanigans….
actually ok i was gonna tell you about the reference in part 6 but it’s a tiny spoiler for dgfh and i don’t know how you feel about it. i mean. i might’ve already given it away BUT STILL i don’t want to assume so if you would like to wait until part 6 is released and i can tell you about it — and i’m sure you’ll know what i’m talking about when you read it — we can absolutely do that. just let me know hehe i don’t mind either way, just don’t want to spoil anything for you ^_^
(i mean it is here on my blog Somewhere BUT. you know. The Principle. plus it’s fairly buried bc i. Post a lot. KSJFNNE)
anyway anon don’t even worry about the length of the asks i seriously don’t mind!!! i’m having a lot of fun with this and talking with you, so it is absolutely not an issue!!!! and i’m always happy to hear any theories or connections you’re making with the story and dc stuff like genuinely this is perfect for me LOL like the combo of dc and daiya… just so fun!!!! so don’t worry <333
AH thank you so much i am so proud of that playlist. and UGHHH i KNOW real love song is probably my favorite on the entire thing, i think it’s soooo fitting for miyuki and tee. especially that um. the bridge. this part
Tumblr media
bc it’s like. tee plays it on the station. but it’s kind of a mirror of miyuki. sort of. idk if that makes sense but either way it’s just SO good anyway thank you thank you <3333

All Men Have Limits - VIII
Character: Dick Grayson x Reader x Bruce Wayne
Summary: A certain bat believes that Y/N is in way over her head, that she’s too naive to act in her best interest. So, whether she wants it or not, the vigilante family is going to help and protect her before she gets herself killed.
Word Count: 3,600+
Warning: Mention of sexual assault
Previously on…
Tumblr media
“Going along with this plan seems rather unlike you,” Tim finally pointed out to Bruce.
It was the two younger boys and Bruce sitting in the cave.
“Without her help, we would have never been able to get the evidence we need to take down The Court of Owls,” Bruce sighed as he looked up at the screens.
“Yeah, but like you said before, we never use our own as bait,” Tim countered.
“Y/N knows what she’s doing.”
Tim and Damian shared a look.
“Are you certain things have not gone too personal, father?” Damian finally asked.
The personal question finally forced Bruce to tear his eyes away from the screens and look at his son.
His gaze shifted between Tim and Damian. From their looks alone, Bruce realized that his feelings towards Y/N were not as subtle and secret as he wanted.
But Bruce knew better than to answer Damian.
The boy had never been invested in his father’s personal relationships before. Why did he have to start now? And with Y/N?
“What happens if things go south?” Tim challenged.
But Damian answered for his father. “You know he has a plan B and C, Drake. He always does, even if he doesn’t share it.”
Bruce was not about to have a conversation about his love and sex life with his two youngest sons. So, he thought of something to escape and he thought of it fast.
He stood up quickly and faced them. “Mandatory family dinner. Tonight.”
“What!?” Damian screamed in outrage.
“I don’t want to,” Tim whined like a baby, even though he was very much a young man standing at the ripe age of 19.
“Mandatory,” Bruce repeated solidly before leaving the cave.
Damian and Tim shared a look.
“This is your fault,” Tim accused.
“How is it my fault?”
“You couldn’t keep your mouth shut about the sexual tension we’re all choking on in this damn mansion!”
“But you don’t disagree. You’ve noticed it as well.”
“I was a little late to the game, but yes,” Tim admitted.
“She’s not like the other ones,” Damian muttered so quietly that Tim almost missed it.
“No, she’s not,” Tim confirmed.
——————
Bruce was slightly surprised to find Y/N sitting at the outdoor pool, reading a book.
She wasn’t in a bathing suit – just shorts and a t-shirt.
Bruce walked over with his hands in the pocket of his slacks.
“If I didn’t know better, I would think that you’re starting to like it here.”
She looked up from her book with a smirk. “For the record, I still think we should ‘eat the rich.’”
Bruce smirked. “Right. Of course.”
Y/N eyed him. “Did you need something?”
“Are you sure about this?”
Of course he was coming to try and talk her out of the plan once again.
“Bruce, I’m not changing my mind.”
“Figured you would say that.”
Y/N could see his mind racing. It was obvious he hadn’t stopped thinking about everything that could wrong with. Bruce needed control. And even if he was going into an inevitably dangerous situation, he always had multiple plans to get out alive. Y/N’s involvement made it harder for him to do that.
“Careful,” she warned him playfully, “It’s starting to look like you’re worried about me.”
“I am,” he retorted.
Her amusement vanished. “I didn’t think you worried. Or got scared.”
He quirked an eyebrow. “I thought you had realized by now that both of those things happen when you’re involved.”
She didn’t know how to respond that. She really didn’t.
“I also came out here to tell you we’re having a family dinner tonight.” Yes, Dick and Tim were basically living at the manor while they handled this specific case. But it was rare that the whole family ate together. All the boys would come back from patrol at different times. Alfred usually made something and put each of their meals in the oven or fridge for when they got back.
But Bruce made a habit of having mandatory family dinners. They weren’t frequent. And the boys often viewed them as some sort of punishment. But Bruce saw it as a way to remind them all that they were a family. A chaotic and a strange one, but they were still a family.
“It would be nice if you could join us,” Bruce added politely.
Y/N smiled at how obvious it was that he was choosing his words carefully. “It was really hard for you to not me tell what to do, wasn’t it?”
He narrowed his gaze at her from being caught.
She never seemed to miss an opportunity to tease him.
“Yes. I’ll join you.”
Bruce nodded, clearly pleased with her answer.
“Will you miss it?” Bruce surprised her by asking as he looked around at the exterior of the manor, looking almost lost in thought.
“It’s a home,” Y/N sighed. “And even with all the secrets and dark pasts, it’s still filled with happy memories, too. And a family.”
Then she smirked. “Even if it’s a highly dysfunctional one,” she added teasingly.
“Not sure all the boys would agree with you on that.”
“Are you sure about that?” Y/N challenged.
———————
Y/N walked out of her bedroom right as Dick was dragging Damian down the hallway.
“Come on. It’s never as bad as you think it’s gonna be,” Dick tried to tell the boy.
“Why did Todd come? He never comes to family dinner. He doesn’t even see us as his family.”
Dick smirked. “You and I both know that’s not true, no matter how many times he tries to convince everyone – even himself.”
Then both of them noticed Y/N’s presence in the hallway.
“You look pretty,” Dick complimented.
Y/N looked down at her outfit and shrugged. “Figured I could make a bit more of an effort.”
“Let’s get this over with,” Damian huffed before leaving the two of them behind.
Y/N and Dick both laughed lightly at his attitude.
“I’ve never told you how good you are with him,” she thought aloud.
“I don’t know about that…”
Y/N turned to him with an insistent look. “You are. Sometimes I think he listens to you more than Bruce. He looks up to you. I think it’s because…” her words die out.
“What? What you were going to say?”
Y/N still hesitated, but told him anyway. “I think it’s because you’re more available to him…emotionally, I mean.”
“Sometimes I feel like I have to talk to him the same way I do with Bruce. He’s a younger carbon copy of the guy. Just brattier.” Dick sighed. “Deep down, Damian has a good heart and he cares deeply about the people in his life. He’ll just never admit it.”
Y/N nodded.
It did sound like Bruce.
But Y/N never considered Dick would have a similar impact on Bruce that he also had with Damian. She wondered what Bruce would be like today if he had never taken in an orphaned Richard Grayson.
Sometimes Y/N believed Bruce would be completely devoid of any and all emotions if it hadn’t been for an adolescent Dick. His needs and wants as a child had prevented Bruce from turning completely into a callous vigilante with nothing tying him to his own humanity and life.
Y/N was about to continue her walk to the dining room, but Dick softly grabbed her arm.
“Hey, before we walking into the chaos…” Dick cleared his throat. “I just wanted to make sure we’re okay after the other night.” He shifted his weight and looked at the ground. “If I was too forward or I misread something or–”
“Dick?” Y/N interrupted with a smug look.
His head shot up to look at her. “Yeah?”
She had a wicked gleam in her eyes.
Then she moved into Dick’s space, closing the distance between their bodies and did not stop until they could feel each other’s body heat.
Y/N tipped her head as if she was about to kiss him.
But her lips stopped just a centimeter or two from his.
Dick’s eyes turned menacing once he realized she was messing with him.
“Yes,” Y/N whispered seductively, “we’re okay.”
Then she slipped away quickly and started walking away without him.
“That was cruel!” Dick called after her.
But her only response was her laugher from down the hall.
Dick shook his head, but couldn’t stop his smiling.
Maybe it was avoidance or a distraction from the reality of their relationship. But Y/N couldn’t deny that it was also fun.
Dinner was in the formal dining room of the manor. This was the first time Y/N had even stepped foot in the room. The fireplace was even lit. Even when Wayne Manor was hardly trying, it reminded Y/N how out of place she was.  “If I have to sit through this bullshit, you’re sitting next to me,” Jason said from behind Y/N, making her jump.
To her horror, Jason pulled out a seat at the head of the table. Two at each end and then two chairs in the middle on both sides.
“Oh, I don’t think–” Y/N stuttered out in panic.
“You’re the guest,” Jason cut her off and gently pushed in the chair when he finally got her to sit.
Damian was already sitting to the right, closer to the other head of the table– probably to be closer to his father.
Jason sat down to the left of Y/N. And when Dick finally caught up to her, he didn’t question Y/N sitting at the head and sat to the right of her.
“Perfect. You’re like our future step mom,” Jason declared.
Damian snickered, despite hating to laugh at Jason’s joke.
But Y/N looked horrified. She was about to jump up and take the remaining middle seat on the other side of Jason. But Tim’s timing was absolutely horrendous.
“Please switch spots with me,” Y/N leaned forward and hissed at Dick.
He smirked. “Absolutely not.”
When he saw her obvious panic, he leaned forward as well and whispered, “That’s payback for earlier.”
Y/N glared at him and huffed.
“Oh, I’m so glad I came,” Jason sighed.
Bruce walked into the room with his head held high. “Tim, no phones. You know better.”
Tim sighed in annoyance but slipped his phone into his back pocket.
Dick leaned to Y/N. “Bruce has a strict ‘no electronics’ rule for family dinners. Phones are forbidden.”
Y/N nodded, even though she would never be so rude as to bring a phone to dinner, especially when she was a guest and this was a literal “manor.”
Somehow Jason had pulled a bottle of red wine from nowhere. Or maybe it had been sitting on the table and Y/N had just missed it.
And Jason had already grabbed Y/N’s glass and gave her a heavy pour. “But drinking is highly encouraged,” he added with a crooked smile.
Y/N barely let him finish pouring before she grabbed the wine and chugged.
When she put the glass back down, Bruce was watching her carefully. She at least had enough shame to sink lower in her chair and give him an apologetic look.
But Bruce was amused more than anything.
He’d never brought a woman to a family dinner like this. And though the situation was not that straightforward, it was still causing him a weird amount of anxiety.
“How are your lessons going, Damian?” Bruce broke the tension with the question.
Damian muttered off what sounded like rehearsed and generic statements about his personal studies.
“I didn’t even know he went to school,” Y/N muttered to Dick as Damian and Bruce talked.
“He doesn’t. He’s technically homeschooled,” Jason answered first. “Which is total bullshit seeing as all of us were forced to go to Gotham Academy with all the spoiled brats of the city.”
“As if it mattered, you died before you were forced to graduate from the stupid establishment,” Damian commented darkly.
Jason beamed and laughed lightly at the comment.
But Dick, Tim, and Y/N all froze and looked to Bruce.
They all knew it was a sensitive topic.
Bruce was clearly trying his hardest not to scold them all night. So he just took in a deep, shaky breath.
“Why get your GED or drop out of high school when you can just get murdered?” Jason offered with enthusiasm.
“Jason,” Y/N warned lowly when she saw the pained look on Bruce’s face that he was trying so hard to hide.
Jason’s death still haunted Bruce and riddled him with guilt – despite the miracle of him being resurrected. Y/N probably knew that more than any of the boys. Maybe only Dick really shared that understanding.
“You’re right,” Jason agreed. “Tonight’s not about me. You’re the guest, Y/N. Why don’t you tell us about yourself?”
Y/N opened her mouth to protest, but the words got caught in her throat when she felt everyone’s eyes on her.
This was not how she imagined tonight going.
But Alfred – her savior – interrupted with the first course of soup and salad.
Everyone was momentarily distracted with the food.
Y/N hoped it stayed that way.
“Who taught you how to hack?” Damian piped up.
Y/N relaxed at that particular question. “No one. I taught myself.”
“Where’s your family?” Tim asked innocently.
Y/N flipped through all the possible lies she could tell, deciding to go with the one that would lead to the least amount of follow-up questions. And it wasn’t a lie at all.
“We’re estranged,” Y/N mumbled without looking up from her food.
“Parents are overrated,” Jason commented with a smirk.
Dick and Bruce glared at him.
However, Y/N couldn’t help but laugh along with Jason.
Little did she know that Jason could relate to her upbringing far more than anyone else at the table. Their childhood’s were parallel. Ones neither of them deserved.
Tim instantly felt guilty for asking an uncomfortable question without realizing it.
“Y/N is not here to be interrogated,” Bruce warned the table.
“Well, why don’t you tell us about her, B?” Jason answered. “How exactly did you two meet again?”
Bruce narrowed his gaze. He knew what game this was. The more emotion and reaction he showed, the more it would encourage Jason to continue with such antics. “We worked on a case together a couple years ago,” was all Bruce supplied.
“More like she threatened you into working with her,” Dick mumbled as he tried to hide his smirk by licking his lips.
Y/N kicked him under the table.
“So, Y/N, have you always had a thing for older men?” Jason asked.
She gave him a death glare.
“Jason, come on.” Dick cautioned.
“I mean, you of all people should be curious, Dickie.”
Everyone went quiet.
Jason rolled his eyes and looked around the table. “Oh. Are we all pretending there’s not a weird love triangle going on?”
“I didn’t realize my sex life was up for discussion tonight,” Y/N mumbled.
But it wasn’t just sex was it?
“Why don’t we all go around the table and share!?” Jason suggested loudly. “Dick, you first. What’s your number?”
“Jason that is enough.” Bruce grunted.
But Y/N had it with Jason’s pot stirring and she wasn’t going to let Bruce fight her battles for her.
She snapped her head in Jason’s direction. “I hope you don’t have a sex tape laying around, because I will sell that shit to PornHub faster than you can jerk off,” she threatened.
The words slipped out of Y/N’s mouth so quickly that she had momentarily forgotten that a literal child was also sitting at the dinner table.
Her hand slammed over her mouth and her eyes widened in shock.
Jason threw his head back with laughter. This was exactly the chaos he was trying to start.
Her eyes whipped to Damian with horror as she blurted out, “I am so sorry!"
“Please, I know what fornication is,” Damian rolled his eyes. “I’m not so innocent. After all, I was conceived from my mother drugging my father and forcing coitus onto him.”
“I also slept with said mother,” Jason chimed in.
Tim made a disgusted gag noise.
Dick rubbed his face in exhaustion. Y/N’s jaw dropped at this new information.
But when she looked to Bruce, he wouldn’t meet her stare, only further proving it was all true.
This was no laughing matter.
Yet the whole family seemed desensitized by the subject.
Y/N was processing that Bruce had gone through such an assault – and by the mother of his only biological son, nonetheless. “Can Jonathan come over soon for a sleepover, father?” Damian suddenly asked.
The subject change was like whiplash on the entire table.
Y/N couldn’t keep up. She couldn’t just move past what she found out like that.
“I don’t see why not,” Bruce answered.
Clearly he was grateful for his son’s short attention span and his inability to read the room and realize he’d said something entirely inappropriate for the situation.
But Y/N could also see the subtle happiness in Bruce’s eyes from his son asking him such a question. And for that split second, this felt like a normal family.
“Who’s Jonathan?” Y/N asked Dick quietly.
She was trying to follow Bruce’s lead and move on.
“Superman’s son,” Dick provided.
“And literally Damian’s only friend,” Jason added.
“I heard that!” Damian shouted.
“I meant you to!”
“Put that knife down, Damian.” Bruce warned. “What have I told you?”
Damian lowered his head in shame. “The knives at the dinner table are for eating, and are not to be used as weapons under any circumstance.”
The table suddenly erupted into various conversations. Tim started talking Wayne Enterprises business with Bruce. Damian and Jason were shooting insults at each other. Alfred brought in another course.
Dick and Y/N shared a moment.
She sighed, realizing that the worst of it was probably over now.
‘Sorry,’ Dick mouthed to her.
‘It’s OK,’ she mouthed back.
The dinner continue with filet mignon, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, mushroom bordelaise, and – thankfully – more wine.
Maybe Jason had helped them all in a way by airing out all their dirty laundry immediately and getting it over with so they could move on.
But as Y/N looked around the table, listening to the boys and Bruce talk, she realized that maybe – just maybe – she didn’t want to leave.
Alfred put all the boys to work cleaning the dishes after dinner.
But he refused to allow Y/N to help. Once a guest always a guest.
Alfred handed Y/N a fresh glass of wine and told her to wait in the drawing room and that he’d bring dessert within the hour.
Y/N knew better than to argue with him and did as she was told.
There was a roaring fire in the room, pulling her to it.
“Please don’t take anything Jason said personally,” Bruce said from behind her.
Y/N let out a breathy laugh and shook her head. “He loves to start drama. That’s for fucking sure.”
“He’s constantly trying to get back at me. You weren’t his target. I was. But I apologize that you were caught in the crossfire.”
She turned away from the fireplace to face him.
Her eyes were heartbroken and worried.
“You never told me about…” she hesitated, “about Damian’s mother. I-I had no idea.”
“I try not to speak of it. No matter what happened in the past, Talia is still Damian’s mother.”
“But she still–”
“I’m fine,” Bruce cut her off. “Really, Y/N. I came to terms with it long ago.”
He was irritated, but too preoccupied with comforting Y/N to face the dark truth of how Damian was conceived.
“Well, if you need to ta–”
“I know, Y/N. Thank you.”
Their moment was interrupted by the boys trampling in the drawing room.
Dick had Damian thrown over his shoulder as the boy screamed insults at both Tim and Jason. Clearly Dick was preventing a full-on brawl from errupting.
The bickering and teasing continued but wasn’t anywhere near as awkward or stressful as it was at dinner. Perhaps all the glasses of wine Y/N had were helping with that. She decided to simply sit back and watch the Wayne family.
Eventually it hit Damian’s bed time. Bruce insisted on tucking his son into bed.
Jason took their leave as his cue to leave the manor.
Tim went up to his own room. Except they all knew it wasn’t to sleep, but to get back to work and not stop until he was utterly exhausted.
The drawing room turned relaxing as Dick and Y/N were the only two who remained.
“You survived,” Dick pointed out with a chuckle.
“I did,” Y/N answered with a light laugh.
Dick let a moment pass before he asked,  “Why didn’t you ever tell me about your parents?”
She sighed, knowing Dick was going to bring this up at some point.
“Because I don’t tell anyone about them.”
“You told Bruce,” he countered.
Her brow furrowed. “And how do you know that?”
Dick at least looked guilty for answering, “He told me.”
She glared at him. “So is that what you two do now? You talk about me with each other? Swap notes?”
“Course not. But don’t you think it’s a little hypocritical getting mad about it?”
“Hypocritical?” She shot back.
“Yeah, hypocritical. You did a background check on every single member of this family. You know my entire past. You know every woman I’ve been connected to in my life. But the moment I know something about you, it’s not OK?”
“As if you wouldn’t offer that info freely if I asked…”
“That’s exactly my point, Y/N.” Dick sounded exasperated. “I’m trying to get to know you. I’m really trying. But now I know you’ve done it before. So I’m asking you to trust me enough to do it again.”
“It’s not that simple,” Y/N mumbled before walking out of the room.
Dick let out a groan of frustration and rubbed his face.
That definitely could’ve gone better.
But Y/N’s night wasn’t free of the Wayne men yet.
Just before reaching her bedroom door, Bruce crossed her path.
“Hey!” She snapped at him. “My past isn’t something for you to announce to whoever the fuck you want.”
“Y/N, that’s–”
“Save it,” Y/N snapped before he could get a word in. “Whatever broody and cryptic bullshit you’re about to spew…just…save it, k?”
And with that, Y/N slammed her bedroom door shut.

Part 9
A/N: I know a lot of people really hate the Talia/Bruce sexual assualt storyline. But that was the version of Damian’s conception that I was most familiar with. I didn’t want to make light of it, because we all know male victims of sexual assault are not taken seriously – and that’s fucked up. But I also didn’t want to linger on it too long since it’s such a disliked plot point
Let me know what you thought of this chapter!!! Pretty, pretty please. 😔

For @trekkies-unite! In no order and there's loads I can add to this, but these are the ones in my brain right now:
1) He was a bit of an arrogant prick before the accident. Not like a complete bastard but just a little too sure of himself and certain. This comes back now and again ("How many PHDs does Banner have? Seven.") but he checks himself because of guilt.
2) He absolutely wants to be touchy with people all the time. Like, just constantly interacting and being physical. He got really handsy with Thor on Sakaar because he had been Hulk for so long who has no such inhibitions and honestly? Thor is pretty.
3) After a Hulk-out, it takes him a while to get used to his body again. He thinks he still has these massive limbs and that he's going to reach out and punch a table across a room. Hence why in AOU he was ducking underneath a lamp that was too tall for him to walk into.
4) He is fiercely independent to a complete fault. Like, he will go out and buy a stepladder before he simply asks someone to grab something from up high. He slowly begins to unlearn that with the Avengers who just want him to know they're there for him.
5) His PTSD manifests in nightmares that make him jump out of bed and just start running. He's been found three floors down, hiding in a corner more times than he'd admit, and JARVIS/FRIDAY know to speak calmly with him until he knows he's safe and can go back to bed.
6) When he falls in love he falls HARD. Like with Betty he was doing so many nice things for her she got suspicious, like nobody is that considerate. Now with Thor he was worried he was going overboard at first but Thor loves affection and is just bowled over by all the kind things Bruce does for him.
7) He can throw together a meal from leftovers and he can McGyver things like cars and computers to get them working in a pinch. But just don't ask him to bake. He takes it as seriously as a science experiment and can be in the kitchen for days just working on one cupcake.
8) So there is mention of Rick Jones in TIH film but he's not included in Bruce's origin. So my idea is that Rick signed up for the human trial (because he needed the $200). Bruce realised something was off about the test but not what exactly, but Ross threw his weight around and threatened to fire Bruce if he didn't go ahead. So Bruce paid Rick from his own pocket and put himself forward for the trial, not wanting this kid to get hurt if his bad feeling was correct, but also still naive and proud enough to assume it would go fine.
9) He will make and join in with jokes about himself to no ends. But mention his parents or his upbringing and he will get as angry as it's possible to be without turning green. (I also think nobody knows what happened to him, as he spent a long time wiping that information from his files. If people find out it's by finding the court case information by chance, but other than that, it will take a while before he will open up. I imagine one day he just spills it all out in one long run-along sentence in front of the whole team who gape in shock.)
10) He doesn't drink but he does smoke weed, but not to the extent people think. It's usually when his brain is wired and Hulk is on edge too. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but he usually gets giggly and watches shit action films and it's a great distraction.
11) He tries to keep a vegan diet, but if he's had a long time in the backseat of his brain, he needs protein and FAST and he's not with the avengers, he may forgive himself a cheat day.
12) He hates press conferences or any interviews that aren't about his scientific work, so if pressed he gets Hulk to do them. They are always beyond hysterical and go viral every time, either because Hulk will punch a tank or throw something into space or his answers to questions are amazing. Bruce loves them because not only is Hulk funny but it's a joy to see how far he's come in terms of interacting with others.
13) Bruce still wants kids, he just won't talk about it. Him being a mentor for Kamala brought all those feelings back and now he volunteers to help out the younger supers like it's a chore but it makes him so happy to do so.

Rednight Revamp:
Anja and Tim both have red laptops, Tim’s is Wayne Tech and Anja’s is Stark Industries so you would think they would notice and not accidentally switch but they do all the time
Tim always comes in through her window, she doesn’t get why cause Juliette could care less about her daughters boyfriends being over and Kurt is too naive to care, but he still insists on randomly jumping through her window and yes she has hit him with a chair before cause she thought he was a stranger-
Anja annoys Bruce to absolutely no end and it’s perfect. She plays dumb pranks on him and teleports away so he can’t get her and all the batkids enjoy her coming over cause everyone likes to see Bruce suffer
Her and Chrissy are also back to being friends and Cyber City heroes together, so Chrissy will tease Tim about Anja all the time but he’s unphased and just sighs “Christina, you’re just jealous cause I have a cute fluffy girlfriend and you don’t.” And Chrissy would argue but he’s got a point
Anja will also just teleport into the Batcave or Wayne Manor, and Tim’s like sitting in his bed in the dark working on his laptop, and he sees two glowing cat like eyes in his room and he’s just casually all “Oh hey, babe. Wanna help with this murder case?” “Do I?” “This dude got sliced in half.” “OOOOOOH YESSSSS-“
They’ll literally stay in Anja’s room for days watching serial killer docs while working on cases for Bruce and missing mutant cases for the X-Mansion. Bruno will come in to bring them their takeout they ordered and their morning coffee, but like other than that they just have zero human interaction for days. Then Anja finally comes out of her room to cause some drama and scare her sister as she grabs snacks from the kitchen, then go right back up
Bruce will also show up at the doorstep with Anja hissing and scratching at him like a cat, and he just hands her to Juliette without saying a word and leaves-

The Legend of the Blue Sea:
I FINALLY GET TO SEE THIS!!
I’ve heard so much about this series, but no one had it available, until now, on Viki. I love Lee Min-Ho! I’m watching episode 0 (?) which is a synopsis (?) of the series. I think that is what it is. Hopefully it won’t ruin the story for me.
05/12/2021: OK, this series is starting out much different than I expected. 15 min into the first episode, I am in love with Min-Ho’s character. And to my surprise, Lee Hee-Joon and Sung Dong-Il are in it. AND Min-Ho speaks ENGLISH!! ENGLISH!! He sounds soooooo cute🥰 and he speaks English very well. (Why am I so surprised?? He does everything well!) I loved the homage to Bruce Lee (🙏 Thank you) - this actress, Jun Ji-Hyun, is too cute herself 🥰. ***I am forcing myself to turn off this program so I can work in 4 hrs. - it’s 2:30 in the morning. I’m loving this series so much it’s hard to let go… 💤👋
🥱 05/13/2021: I literally laugh out loud at Min-Ho’s cocky ass character. The characters I’ve seen him play have been serious, responsible, manly man roles (swords; hand to hand battles), but this character is just.....fun. Other than the swindling, I feel that this is probably Min-Ho’s true nature - no acting necessary. I am truly enjoying seeing him in a different light. Now I totally know why people vote this series as their #1 favorite Min-Ho series!!
05/13/2021: Awesome! Kudos for the homage to “The Grudge” (episode 5)- now I have the heebie jeebies!
05/29/2021: The youngest of the swindling trio is played by Shin Won-Ho who is absolutely adorable. I love the angry looks he gives MinHo’s character when MinHo makes comments about being with the mermaid - WonHo is so cute, he looks like an angry kitten, totally harmless. Earlier in the series MinHo’s character thought the mermaid was liking and seeing another guy, so he was putting this guy down - he’s a loser and a user and he lies and he’s cheap, etc., but she, of course, was talking about the things he had done for her. In this episode (11) he just figured it out and was, at first, angry and embarrassed, but he quickly realized she liked him, no one else. The story is really starting to take shape. Joon-Jae is having dreams of a previous life and he has begun to hear Shim Cheong’s true, inner voice. He’s also beginning to remember the memories she had taken away. And He’s had just mere misses of seeing his mother who works in the home of the girl that’s chasing after him. We also just found out his stepmother is a “Black Widow” (she kills her husbands and Joon-Jae’s dad is next.) It’s getting interesting!
LATER SAME DAY: episode 11 is really funny. Now that Joon-Jae can hear her thoughts, it’s making him batty...lol. She is very naive and questions every thing in her thoughts, coming up with some funny ideas and explanations. He totally hears it all and on several occasions he almost gives it away that he was hearing her (hearing her means he has fallen in love with her).
Updated 06/04/2021: So with all of the action and faster paced series I’ve been watching, I kinda lost sight of this series. Well tonight I am back. And since Joon-Jae can hear Shim Cheong’s inner thoughts, it’s becoming super funny. The scene I just saw was Joon-Jae telling Cheong ‘not to think about anything, get lots of rest…. I’m begging 🙏 you’! (He can’t sleep 😴 for hearing her and she worries all night. 😂) Joon-Jae got hypnotised and discovered how he and Cheong dies in their past lives. They were murdered by Ma Dae-Young. Ma Dae-Young has been causing havoc because he, too, is dreaming of his past life. Knowing mermaids are real, he has actually kidnapped Cheong, but before he could get her in water, she frightened him away. She told him “if you know mermaids are real, then you must know what happens when a human touches a mermaid “.
LATER: I am on episode 18 and it is a tearjerker 😭. Joon-Jae was a little too late, so his father died. The “Black Widow” gave her husband a tea made with the purple petals of the “Stepmother’s Curse” flowers. Once it’s ingested, the victim has a heart attack, so it is deemed a death by natural causes. And the murderer goes on his or her merry way. MinHo did an exceptional job of showing how devastated he was…..I cried with him 😭.
06/05/2021 UPDATE: Well, the story has come to an end, and it ended really, really well. The stepmother and her son was finally proven to be guilty of the murder of Joon-Jae’s father. but as the arrests were being done, the stepbrother was able to get an officer’s gun and he shot at Joon-Jae, but Cheong jumped in the way and was hit in the back by the bullet. Given her extraordinary powers of healing she was able to get over the surgery very quickly. But her heart was starting to hurt and she knew she had to go back to the sea. She wiped the memories of everybody that she was associated with and for three years was gone, but she finally returned and to her shock Joon-Jae remembered her. During their time together he was writing a journal of events of the days and to not forget her he was reading the journal which was helping him keep the memories.
The three con artists actually begin to work legitimate jobs. Joon-Jae becomes a prosecutor. He buys a house next to the sea and requests that he be assigned the job in that area. He and Cheong are together and at the end it even shows her pregnant. It was the perfect ending 👏.

Let's talk about Tony Stark
Now, this is a matter of my opinion, and I I'm not saying you have to love Tony, but I think he should afford more respect than is given to him by some people.
So the most common thing I hear from antis is "Well he sold weapons", "He was a warmonger" , etc.
First of all that's from the FIRST movie, why are you still on that bullshit? But let's talk about it anyway.
"He made that choice he could have stopped" "He just wanted to profit off of it he only cares about himself!"
May I remind you, that Tony inherited head of the Stark Industries company at a very young age, an age young enough where, honestly, I couldn't even dream of running a multibillion dollar compsny. I'm nearly 22 and can barely feed myself. So let's think about that, how stressful that would be for him, on top of dealing with loss and grief over his parents. Now, let's add in another key factor that people seem to forget about. Obadiah Stane. Think for a moment here, who was REALLY running things? Who was REALLY profiteering off of the war? Was it Tony? A kid who just wanted to pursue his science career and grow and learn and grieve for his parents ? Or was it this man, who he looked up to as a second father, who he TRUSTED to help him and make all of the big decisions for him? How do we even know that Tony was aware of what was going on behind the scenes? When you trust someone like that, you don't check in on them 24-7 to make sure they're doing things the right way, hell especially if you're young and naive.
People like to forget that it wasn't really all just Tony doing these things. They forget that he was a puppet on Obadiahs strings. A man he loved and trusted and was betrayed and backstabbed by.
Now let's move past that point for now. Let's go to "Oh he's arrogant" "He's a Playboy" etc.
Let me remind you again of some things. Let me remind you that he was young. That he was grieving, and let me also remind you who he had as a father 😒
I'll also lend you some information from personal experience, that kids with parents who often neglect to give them the attention they need, are always going to try to fill that void in some other way. There's a very very good possibility that Tony is such a "Playboy" because he is still looking for all of that love and affection he missed out on as a kid. Think about how much he grew as a person once he finally started to get it.
Now, moving on. "Oh he makes so many mistakes!" "He fucks up all the time!!"
Don't we all?
We all make mistakes, we all fuck up sometimes, just because his mistakes may be bigger or more public than ours sometimes, doesn't make him an awful horrible person! Everyone makes mistakes!! Including the other Avengers.
However we elect to ignore and forgive everyone else's mistakes, yet crucify Tony for his. That just isn't fair.
I'll also remind you that every "big mistake" Tony has made, had good intentions. All of Tony's mishaps have come from him trying too hard to help and protect his friends, loved ones, and the entire world. All of these things he's done "sO" wrong, were him trying so hard to fix what he had previously messed up. He doesn't always go about things in the best ways but he's trying his fucking best to protect people. To help people. And I don't think anyone ever stops to think about this.
Tony is a very passionate and emotional man, and yes sometimes that blows up in his face, but Steve is equally as passionate and emotional, yet we put him up on this godly pedestal of "can do no wrong". If we're going to bitch about people's mistakes, bitch about everyone's. Not just one man's.
Now I've also heard people complain about Tony being a "typical heterosexual white male"
Is... Steve not.. also this? Clint? Thor? Bruce? No you just choose to dislike Tony because he has what? The most money? Because he *looks* like the men we fear in today's society? Because he has emotions? Because he gets cranky sometimes?? I don't get it. I don't get why we choose to complain about one man and ignore everyone else. Complain equally, or not at all. Don't crucify one man for his wrong doings and ignore everyone else's.
And yes, these things have lessened up quite a bit since the release of Endgame. However, I am saddened that it took Tony giving up his LIFE in order to protect his friends, family, loved ones, and all of humanity, for people to realize that he is, in fact, a good man.
We can also talk about "oh well he was mean to Peter." As I do recall, Tony was harsh on Peter in that ONE scene in homecoming, because he wanted Peter to be BETTER than him, he wanted Peter to be SMARTER than him. He wanted to keep Peter from making the same mistakes as he did and he wanted to be there for Peter in a way that Howard never was for him.
Now we can talk about "oh well he tried to kill Bucky"
Oooh boy. Okay listen, Bucky Barnes is my absolute favorite character in the MCU. I adore him and would kiss the ground he walks on. However, I'm not going to give Tony shit for reacting the way he did.
Here Tony is, trying to help his friends again, trying to right his wrongs, fix his mistakes, etc. And he finds out that this man, this man that his best friend has become a criminal to protect, is the one responsible for his parents deaths.
Now yes, Bucky was brainwashed by HYDRA, and no, it was not Bucky's fault for doing what he did. And given proper time to grieve and reflect, Tony would have known that too. However, Tony did not receive any time to grieve, reflect, and come to terms with what was going on. All he knew in that moment was 'this strange man in front of me is the one responsible for my life of hurt and pain and the loss of people I love dearly, and my lack of childhood'
Don't come here and tell me you would not have also panicked and lashed out in that moment. Stop berating human beings with emotions for reacting to harmful situations like you're a perfect angel and would never react that way under duress. You're lying if you say you wouldn't have at least been angry.
So when it boils down to it. I'm not saying the man is perfect, I'm not saying he's never made dumb decisions or stupid mistakes. But what I am saying is that he deserves a lot more respect than some people give him.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. Asks and inbox are open for further discussion if you wish to communicate respectfully.

Best of DC: Week of October 30th, 2019
Best of this Week: Tales from the Dark Multiverse - The Death of Superman - Jeff Loveness, Brad Walker, Drew Hennessey, Norm Rapmund, John Kalisz and Clayton Cowles
Tumblr media
We all know the story of the Death of Superman.
It was one of the few times that Superman fought a threat that pushed him to his limits, ultimately meeting his “end” before a triumphant return after he had been presumed dead. However, what would have happened had Superman not come back as soon as he did? What if someone wanted revenge for his death and saw his passing as a failure on the part of his friends and allies? What if that person were Lois Lane, fueled by the anger of losing her loving husband, enraged enough to become the change the world needed without its greatest hero?
The book begins with Tempus Fuginaut questioning why the darkness keeps returning, why it seems to keep attempting to poison the rest of the multiverse and he is at a loss. He breaks when he mentions worlds that are already dark because of tragedy and get darker still. We then cut to Superman’s battle with Doomsday and his eventual death right up to Lois cradling his body. Where the original story sees her crying and appreciating all that the rest of the heroes were doing while the fight was going on, this book sees her turn to them in fury. She asks why none of them were there for him, why none of them helped him fight.
Tumblr media
Brad Walker does an excellent job of conveying Lois’ emotions. Here, she is shown to be far more angry, her eyes showing a pain that honestly, I don’t think we’ve ever seen from her character. Her tears are well detailed, dripping down her cheeks with maybe some bit of mascara mixed in for effect. Her brow furrows and she lashes out at Batman in particular once he tries to comfort her.
What’s most interesting about this take is the idea that those closest to Clark had been shunted to the side in favor of the League who Lois saw as attention seekers with no regard for his real family. In the original story, Lois and the Kents were in the forefront and were absolutely devastated at the funeral. In this story, Lois is barely able to see the proceedings as the crowd blocks her and some members of the League stop for photos (maybe, Hal Jordan stops and waves at someone). Lois is further disgusted as Lex Luthor (with luxurious long, red hair) unveils a golden statue of the Man of Steel and promises to “live up to the hope” of what Superman believed humanity was capable of. Lois feels that Clark would have found it all s disgusting.
Time goes by and the world turns back into the cesspool that it was before Superman even lit the sky up with hope. There are headlines that crime has skyrocketed and Lois can do nothing but look at it all with despair. Lois Lane had always been a giant beacon of hope, even before she met Clark, but something about his death and the way that world handled it just broke her. Her body language at her desk and later, Superman’s grave give off heavy feelings of sadness and depression. She can’t even have a good night's rest without thinking about him and the shoddy state of the world after his passing. Superman gave so much to humanity and they’ve all just pissed it away from her point of view.
Tumblr media
She visits Ma Kent and comforts her as the Kents couldn’t even go to their son’s funeral to say their goodbyes. As they embrace, Martha tells Lois that Jonathan fell into a coma after a heart attack and you can feel her brokenness as she laments that “her boys are gone.” It rips at the heart to see, a testament to Brad Walker’s emotional art and Loveness’ amazing script. She stays with Ma Kent for an unstated period of time before making her way to the Fortress of Solitude to deliver Superman’s cape back to his Kryptonian home.
She puts herself in a fetal position before the statues of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van and suddenly the form of Eradicator appears before her. John Kalisz is given a ton of space to shine as this is one of the most visually dynamic sequence of pages in the book. Eradicator shimmers with a bright and vibrant shade of red accentuated by a white form. Energy surges around him in the form of circular marks, like bubbles as one exhales while swimming underwater. Even without a mouth, his eyes emote for him. Showing his own anger and lament after failing to save Superman in time.
Lois, with tears in her eyes, offers her body as a vessel for his power as he cannot sustain it in his current form. He is reluctant at first, thinking that her body wouldn’t be able to take it, but upon seeing her resolve and want to finish Superman’s mission, he allows her to take his power. She is then showered in his energy in a bright blast as he dissipates into her. The Fortress of Solitude is destroyed with the red of the explosion contrasted by the blues and whites of the ice. Things simmer down for a moment before another single beam of light shoots out from the ice, revealing Lois in her Super-form.
Tumblr media
Her costume is amazing. Mirroring the bloody logo that made the Death of Superman story feel so visceral, she already feels like a different “hero” altogether, choosing to forego bright colors in favor of a black bodysuit and Superman’s torn cape. She vows to make the world better, to make it a world that deserved Superman. The way that she goes about it very similar to Injustice Superman’s approach, but instead of raising an army, she is the army. She takes down predatory banks, ends wars, feeds the hungry, kills the corrupt and does so without a hint of remorse. She begins to wonder why Clark never used his power in that way. The questions swirl around her mind as she wonders if Clark was truly naive or if he was just afraid of truly Saving humanity for whatever reason.
Many have asked similar questions over the years with the only real answer being that Superman wants humanity to advance on their own with him being a guiding hand, but not a firm one. Lois, only fueled by revenge, doesn’t have the same restraint. Eventually she finds Lex Luthor, knowing that he’s been the cause of all of the world’s troubles since Superman’s death. He doesn’t bat an eye as he admits to his heinous crimes; funding wars and conflicts, struck down climate regulations, created child soldier and even murdering his secretary just because he could. He expects Lois to bring him to justice, claiming that he owns far more judges than she could stop.
In a terrifying moment, she bursts through the glass window separating them and grabs him by the throat. Luthor is unable to speak, unable to stop her at all and the motif of tears continues as she tells him that Superman was Clark Kent. Luthor’s face, abject terror mixed with the loss of breath is both horrifying to see and absolutely gratifying considering his actions. She flies him past Earth’s atmosphere as quickly as she can, burning him to ash and bone in her hands before continuing her mission.
Tumblr media
These are my favorite pages in the book. Loveness wrote it in such a way that all of the emotion is able to be carried by with little dialogue and the few words that are spoken were powerful. Walker made sure to draw these pages with an amazing amount of depth to them. Lois’ boiling anger is painted on her face through her tears, her body language indicates that she feels her actions are righteous and the ease that she’s able to keep hold of Luthor as she destroys him shows a level of control over her new powers and it is amazing. Kalisz makes no bones about showing how Lois’ inner darkness has taken over, showing her shrouded in fire and feeling nothing about what she has done.
The training wheels are taken off by this point as Lois has seemingly gone on a tear through the rogues gallery of almost everyone; burning Intergang, Cadmus, Ra’s al Ghul, Ares, Black Adam, Deathstroke and finally the Joker which draws the ire of Batman. He confronts her about what she’s done, leading to them having a fight. Batman does his best, but she tells him how much Clark actually held back against him, even going so far as to say that Clark pitied him and wished that he would stop being Batman. Bruce looks at her with a seething rage, saying that “he doesn’t stop” to which Lois says that she knows. While we don’t see the aftermath of their conflict up close, we do see her heat vision make a huge blast before she flies away.
This stuck out to me because, unlike Injustice that went out of its way to show all of the brutality that Superman inflicted upon the heroes of the world, we can interpret similar actions from how she was able to easily kill Batman alone. We don’t need to see what happened to know that it was heinous and that she likely had cut a swath through the other “glory hounds” as well. As she looks out to the vast emptiness of space, she sees her own truth. Humanity can’t be saved because they don’t want to be. Batman was the pinnacle of that and now that he’s gone, she’s finally realized it. Batman was one of the greatest humans to exist, but he was too wrapped up in his own emotion and damn anyone that tried to stop him.
Tumblr media
What would a Death of Superman retelling be without the “pretenders?” Granted, I think this bit of the story took some liberties, but it was still horrific to see. She goes after Cyborg Superman and immediately sees through his ruse. They have a tussle and as it appears that she’s about to lose, Steel and Superboy show up only to be crushed and heat visioned to death. I suppose Superboy’s clone DNA doesn’t make him as invincible as Superman, but I don’t think Cyborg Superman has the power to control metal at will to crush Steel either. Lois proceeds to fight Cyborg Superman for God knows how long, not caring about property damage or the amount of people killed.
She looks around, seeing all of the damage and suddenly, in a black suit, Clark returns. He apologizes for how long it took and sees that she’s been fighting Cyborg Superman, then he takes a look at the crowd of people and sees that they’re afraid of her and he questioned why. Unfortunately, this leaves him distracted enough for Cyborg Superman to blast the pair with a ray of Kryptonite Energy, killing him and leaving his face frozen with terror at Lois. She kills Cyborg Superman and cradles his body again, this time knowing that she’s the one that kills him.
I loved this book because it was absolutely masterful. Lois Lane is such a great character that rarely gets stories of her own these days, aside from her current ongoing series by Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins. She is always portrayed as a strong character and seeing her succumb to a weakness like rage is refreshing in a dark way. One criticism I could draw is that this story focused very little on her journalism, but in contrast, how often do we get a super powered Lois Lane?
Tumblr media
Brad Walker, Drew Hennessey, Norm Rapmund and John Kalisz absolutely killed it in the art department. It was brutal without blood and the motif of tears and fire was a nice addition. Waller has such a distinctive and sharp style that is accentuated by Hennessey and Rapmund's inks and elevated by Kalisz' colors. This book was high quality and beautiful.
High recommend!

I live-blogged watching BvS and Justice League on FB earlier; here are my unedited thoughts. :P
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I'm watching Batman V. Superman (because bad movie night I guess idk), and during the opening scene rehashing the Waynes' deaths (for what feels like the millionth time in cinematic history--seriously, y'all, we can be done with that for a while and definitely don't need a 5 minute slow-motion scene about it), when Thomas says Martha's name as they're dying, I burst out laughing because (i) I didn't remember that he said her name during this scene and (ii) is this supposed to be some kind of foreshadowing for the really dumb crux of the movie where Batman and Superman stop fighting because omg their moms have the same name? I literally can't stop laughing. This movie is such a joke. 🤣
Having the Robin costume in this film with absolutely no context is just stupidly pointless fanboy pandering. Anyone who actually gives a crap about Batman lore should realistically hate that.
Lex Luthor, one of the richest and most powerful men in the world, bitching about not having power is definitely on brand, but I am just super *not* a fan of the quirky, kind-of-nerdy-and-awkward Lex Luthor this film decided to go with. The hardcore businessman Lex Luthor from the 90s and 00s will always be the Lithor I like best. Y'know, the one based at least in part on Donald Trump. That one.
This Jesse Eisenberg version is way too much of a Mary Sue. Businessman *and* scientist *and* awkward nerd? Yeah, Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Zuckerberg, but I'm not sure Lex Luthor should be Mark Zuckerberg.
Ugh, I totally forgot about the Darkseid-foreshadowing dream that's never going to go anywhere because, let's be real, DC is never going to do a live-action film with Darkseid (and it would be awful even if they did). Also, Batman using guns in that dream is a thing I'll never be cool with. I don't care what kind of world he thinks he's living in in that dream; Batman has established principles and pretty much only goes against them in alternate universes.
Jesus, I forgot about the whole Flash-from-the-future scene, too. DC wrote a lot of checks we're never going to be able to cash in this film. Promising an Injustice-esque Superman-is-evil kind of storyline that they're never going to do anything with...why would they do that?
So in the dream, Darkseid-related stuff is going on (which, in Justice League, does sort of happen with Steppenwolf) and Superman says "she was everything to me, and you took her away from me." Then future-Flash says that "Lois is the key". Are they implying Batman has premonitions? Are they giving him a superpower? 🤣
Oh, that's right, they blew up the U.S. Capitol in this movie. 🤣 These scenes that are supposed to be really serious and filled with tension just keep making me laugh.
Why did they decide Batman needed to make a kryptonite spear? I mean, other than plot reasons so they could use it later against Doomsday. Batman uses projectiles and his fists; he rarely uses swords or spears or whatever.
Why did they decide Doomsday had to be created using a mixture of Kryptonian and Luthor's DNA? In the comics, Doomsday is an experimental clone based on ancient Kryptonian DNA. Why (in my opinion) make Doomsday so much more pathetic by adding human DNA into the mix? Freaking weird decision.
"Mm." What a weird quirk to add to Luthor's character. "Mm" every other sentence. What's that all about?
Luthor manipulating Batman into fighting Superman is...so unbelievable. Luthor manipulating Superman to hate Batman, waaaaay more believable. But no, that's not what they went with. They went with Luthor manipulating Batman for two years into wanting to fight Superman. Superman just randomly came to hate Batman on his own and only got manipulated into fighting him at the end. They could have just gone with hey, Batman's suspicious of everyone and would naturally be suspicious of a superpowered alien, especially with the whole setup they did at the beginning that coincided with stuff from Man of Steel. But nope. Nope, they went with the dumber plot.
Doesn't Luthor have way too much info about all these heroes' secret identities? Are we just pretending secret identities don't matter anymore? That's too 90s or something?
Why does the kryptonite spear make an "omg I'm a glowy thing" sound? 🤣
And now we're at the stupid Martha part that makes no sense because if you were about to die, you wouldn't say "save [mom's name]"; you would just say "save my mom!" 🤣
Batman would totally save Superman's mom even if their moms didn't have the same name. It's just such a stupid, stupid plot point and lends itself to endless mockery. 🤣
I *do* like this fight scene where Batman is making his way through the goons to get to Martha. The choreography is really good. Reminds me a lot of the Arkham video games.
Man, this Doomsday just...doesn't really work on a fundamental level. What makes comic Doomsday so powerful and terrifying is (i) it's not just a mindless monster, but is actually intelligent and can plan and strategize; (ii) iwas created through such extreme experimentation that it was repeatedly destroyed and then remade again over and over and over to give it endurance and formidably; (iii) and it's pretty much unstoppable from all that experimentation and uncontrollable because of its intelligence.
Also, what's with this explody thing Doomsday does in this film? A monster can be terrifying without being able to blow up a bunch of stuff. I'm not sure what the point of explody Doomsday is other than lazy writing.
The military hit it once and came to the conclusion that not only does it get more powerful "every time we hit it," but also that it's unkillable? Okay. More lazy writing.
And we're back to one of my biggest issues with Man of Steel: Superman just not giving a shit about collateral damage. Even if the island they're on is uninhabited, that doesn't exactly mean he should just be fine with blowing a bunch of shit up in the course of this fight. Sheesh.
How did Lois know they needed the spear again? She had no reason to go underwater to try to get it. This whole "let's make Lois useless time and again so Superman can save her" thing is really annoying.
Superman's "death" scene carries so little weight if you know (like pretty much everyone should have known, let's be real) that he's not really dead. Like, sure, for the characters it means something because they don't know he'll be back, but for the audience? At least for me, it doesn't make me feel a whole lot.
So all the soldiers at Superman's funeral--do they know they're carrying an empty casket? Just curious.
The dirt rising off the casket at the end for a split second is soooooo dumb. For anyone naive enough to think he *is* really dead, just let them think it. Just let that be a thing. Come on. (Also considering that he doesn’t just come back on his own; it takes a charge from a Mother Box in Justice League for him to come back. That makes this end scene a lie, too.)
Ok, BvS is done. Need another drink and a snack, then I'll move on to Justice League. 😅
Justice League:
Haha, obvious Superman facial CGI right off the bat, omg, I forgot how horribly obvious it is. 🤣
Also forgot that we're starting off with parademons right away. Sheesh.
Do all of Snyder's films have to have gratuitous slow-motion scenes at the beginning? Ugh, dude.
Everyone just throwing Bruce Wayne's name around in relation to Batman all the time. Secret identities are dead, y'all. No superhero can have a real life, I guess.
Ugh, I forgot this film pushes Batman/Wonder Woman pretty hard. 🙄
"It's cool if I show a bunch of Amazons with their midriffs showing as long as they have visible ab muscles, right?" Idk, Snyder, is that how armor realistically works? 🙄 Also, is it necessary for them to have lipstick on? That doesn't even exist on Themyscira, ffs.
The multiple (as I remember; only one so far) innuendo-based jokes really bring this film down, imo. "Clark said you were the thirstier woman he'd ever met." Really? Ugh. 🙄
The plot of this film is so LOTR. Amazons, Atlanteans, and Men all get Mother Boxes, sort of like the various rings of power. There's plenty you can pull from comics, y'all. You don't need to pull from other stuff.
Flash as comic relief I'm okay with. I'm not sure how I feel about *this* Flash's comic relief. I'm not a huge fan of the writing.
Break time because Je'von wants to go out on the balcony lol. 😅
And we're back. So can Steppenwolf breathe underwater? Is that a thing?
I guess it's supposed to be super funny that everyone disappears except the fastest one of them? Sigh. The writing in this film is just so awful.
Cyborg's CGI also isn't great. I really wanted more for Cyborg because he's awesome. Sigh.
Snyder must have loved being able to do stuff with Flash. All the slo-mo he could want.
I'm not a fan of neurotic Flash, afraid of pretty much everything. He can be funny in so many better ways, but instead let's just have him be afraid of everything and make sexual jokes every now and then. 🙄
"Let's keep having Cyborg wear sweatpants and a hoodie so we don't have to spend so much on CGI. It totally won't look ridiculous." 🤣
Batman making the argument to use technology he doesn't understand to try to bring Superman back from the dead is just so out of character it's not even funny. First of all, Superman didn't need technology to come back in the comics (whether or not his "resurrection" was silly is irrelevant). Secondly, Batman literally has an enemy (Ra's al Ghul) who resurrects himself on the regular, and Batman (i) knows it's a bad idea because it messes with Ra's's sanity and (b) would never consider using the Lazarus Pit even though he has a relative understanding of how it works. This film just literally disregards established character traits in favor of it's stupid-as-hell plot. Ugh.
Superman is vulnerable to magic, idiot writers. He shouldn't be able to fight Wonder Woman's lasso. Uuughhh. Have any of the writers of this movie ever actually read any Justice League comics? 🤦‍♀️
Well, those cops definitely know Superman's name now. Since you all keep saying it in front of them.
Superman hasn't even been gone for that long (seemingly; I mean, it's hard to tell, but S.T.A.R. Labs is still doing research on the Kryptonian ship in the same genersl area as in BvS, so idk), so all this talk about what he does or doesn't remember seems...weird.
Why not wait until you defeat Steppenwolf to let your mom know you're back, Superman? For all you know, you could die again. Wouldn't that just be harder on her after seeing you back?
Why was the lasso just sitting on the Batmobile instead of with Wonder Woman? Plot so that Aquaman could say some *super funny things*. 🙄 That's not even how the lasso works, you dumb writers. Someone has to direct another bound by it to speak the truth. Seriously, do some research. Ugh. It's not that hard.
"So your plan is dying? You really are out of your mind." "I'm not the one who brought a pitchfork." See, the writers prove that they can be actually funny if they try. *If* they try.
The "everyone trying their best to hold off the big bad until Goku gets there" vibe is super strong in this movie. 😑
Part of the reason the Justice League is a thing is because no one hero can do it alone. That means it all shouldn't be riding on Superman's shoulders. If you actually know how to write the Justice League, that is.
Don't know how I feel about everyone getting perks due to nepotism now that they know Bruce Wayne...must be nice to be buddies with the richest man in the world. 😒
The Flash vs Superman race at the end is more pandering. Ugh. It would be better if Flash was less pathetic as a character in this film. Super awkward is just not very funny, y'all. Write actual jokes instead.
Okay, that's over. What a trip. Both those movies are still pretty much garbage. 🤣 The question is, will I ever watch Man of Steel again? Probably not; I hated Man of Steel more than both those movies, actually. Wrote a 3-page rant about how awful it was after seeing it in theaters originally. $3 was still way too much money to spend on that crap. 😅
Oh, side note for the after credits scene: will they ever actually go anywhere with that? They might do an okay job with a Justice League vs. Legion of Doom (or Injustice Society or whatever villain team incarnation they would decide to go with) film. That might not suck.

I am glad you are enjoying the Superbat questions. I am too. :) Bringing in some angst. What was their worst fight about? How long did it last? How did they make up? Who apologized first?
I am always up for some fictional angst! :) This was a hard one because I hate them fighting. It’s good to step out of the fluffy zone now and then, however.
After much consideration I am going with my first gut reaction when I read this. Clark didn’t like the way Bruce handled something. It wasn’t BvS level Batman going too far, but it was enough for him to wade in and stop it, and remind Bruce that they’re supposed to be the good guys. Bruce told him to stay out of it, to mind his own business (only in much more blunt language), because what Clark didn’t know--because Bruce hadn’t told him--was that one of the kids was in danger. They were being held hostage by the Joker, and Bruce believed him when Joker said he’d know if Batman brought any of his super friends in to help.
A desperate Bruce does get there in time. Just barely. It’s not a repeat of what happened to Jason, but still enough to give Bruce nightmares, and to go over and over what might have happened. For him it all comes down to Clark getting in the way. Not even Alfred can get him to budge on that.
When Clark comes to him, Bruce refuses to see him. Alfred explains what happened. Clark refuses to be turned away now and tracks Bruce down in the Cave. His intentions might be good but it’s the wrong time. Bruce starts with, “What part of you’re not wanted here don’t you understand?” and it only gets worse.
They both go too far, say too much, words that can’t be taken back, that--to Bruce especially--starkly spell out why they should not be together; why they should have never tried.
“We’re through,” Bruce says, nothing but ice in his voice, in his eyes.
His heart breaking, desperate to fix this but not knowing how, Clark can only agree, and hope that maybe someday they can work it out.
The stalemate lasts a long time. Weeks turn into months, and although Dick drops by now and then to encourage him not to give up, Clark can feel those faint embers of hope growing cold. He’s started to wonder if Bruce may have been right. Maybe they weren’t meant to be together. They’re so different. As Bruce pointed out so brutally, Clark’s not even human...
Meanwhile over in Gotham, Bruce is nursing regrets. He knows he went too far. He knows Clark only wanted to help. Worse, he knows that Clark could have--if Bruce had only told him what was going on. But it’s too late. What’s been said cannot be unsaid. Bridges burned and all that. He does his best to convince himself it really is better this way.
And then one night, chasing down Scarecrow, he’s hit by a blast of fear toxin. Overriding every other image, even more powerful than reliving the murder of his parents, is a vision of Clark dying, of Luthor and Metallo and Doomsday all ganging up on him, and it’s Bruce’s fault. If he’d been there, if Clark hadn’t had to face them alone...
Next day at the Daily Planet, Clark receives a text  from Dick: Have intel Intergang’s up to hijinks. Meet me at the waterfront tonight at 9.
He gives a specific address which puzzles Clark, because that’s a fairly ritzy part of the waterfront. Not where he’d expect to find Bruno Mannheim. Still, he goes along at the specified time. There’s no sign of Dick or Nightwing. There is a table for two set up--and a yacht. He recognizes the yacht. He also recognizes the man seated at the table, although he doesn’t know what to make of this development and proceeds with caution.
“No Intergang hijinks, I take it?”
“No,” says Bruce, also awkward and cautious.
Long, uncomfortable pause, then Clark asks, “What’s supposed to happen now?”
Bruce shrugs, with every outward appearance of not caring in the least. This, in fact, is the first thing that makes Clark start to relax. “You sit down. We eat. Alfred fixed your favorites.”
A long-suffering, British sigh somewhere in the background.
Clark sits. They eat. The tension starts to ebb. Now what? they’re both wondering.
It takes another nudge from Alfred, but Bruce starts to talk, tells Clark the bare bones version of what happened. “I...had to be sure you were all right.”
“And now you have?”
Another nudge. “You want an apology?” Bruce says, all gruff and grumbly.
“I want you,” Clark says, just like that.
“Still?”
“Always.”
Bruce doesn’t know what to do with that. “You make this too easy.”
Clark shrugs. “I love you.”
Bruce absolutely does not know what to do with that. He gets up, paces away. Clark really doesn’t know what’s happening now. Starts to get up. Alfred puts a hand on his shoulder, gives him a look: Wait.
He waits. Bruce comes back. Starts in, “I wasn’t wrong. You are a Boy Scout with a naive sense of right and wrong. But you weren’t wrong, either,” he plows on before Clark can interrupt. “I can go too far without someone to call me on it. That’s one of the reasons we do work.”
Clark, not at all sure where this is going ventures, “We’re better together than we are apart?”
Bruce shrugs, not at all sure of himself or comfortable with being this exposed. “If you want to put it that way.”
Clark stands now, faces him. “Do you want to put it that way?”
Bruce wants to run away, preferably with Clark, but knows they have to get past this first. He struggles with it, but gets it out. “Yes. Yes, I do. Now can this be over?”
And because he does know how hard this is for Bruce, Clark says yes.
Then, “So what’s the yacht for?”
It was a whim, Bruce says, trying to make light of it.
Really? Not because Bruce remembered this was the anniversary of that other cruise, the one where they had to share a cramped cabin, the one that started it all?
Well, Bruce allows, that might have crossed his mind...

Back to You
Damian x reader based off of Back To You by Selena Gomez
Love was a touchy subject for you. When you were a young naive teenager you didn’t believe in love at first sight. You actually thought that love was a pointless human creation. Why would you want to fall in love? Just why?
Then you meet Damian Wayne. Your opinion didn’t change you just developed a crush on him. After getting to know him better you did start to fall in love. And you did change your mind about love. Little did you know he shared those same feelings for you. He would’ve asked you to be his but he knew about your opinion about love. But he didn’t let that get in the way between you two.
As days, weeks, and months passed, the both of you started acting more like a couple than a pair of friends. It was silently affecting your social life. People actually thought you two were dating. Even the Batfamily.
But now, you and Damian are in your mid-twenties. He has his life figured out while you still had no clue what to do with it. He’s getting married and you’re in your living room with several bottles of wine by your side.
You glanced at the wedding invitation in your hand and put it down. Even after the both of you cut off your friendship he had invited you. Guess there’s still something left.
You got up and dragged yourself to the bathroom. Once there you studied your reflection in the mirror. Your eyes were red and puffy from all the crying. The bags under your eyes were getting darker as the days passed.
As quickly as you could, you washed your face and returned to living to pick up the invitation. You opened it and looked at the date and time. The wedding was taking place later that evening. No point in going now. And assuming that the entire Batfam was going to be there, then that would mean Gotham would be vulnerable. Lucky for them you were available and in need to punch something.
Damian was nervous. Today was the day. The day be would marry his beloved. His entire family, friends, and people he didn’t even know were going to be there. His wedding was apparently a big deal being the son of Bruce Wayne.
But something didn’t seem quite right in his heart and mind. Part of him was regretting sending that invite to you, the other part was hoping you would show. He was just as confused as he was nervous. His feelings for you were still alive and that saddened him. He had lost you and now he was never going to get back to you. Not that you two were dating before he met Kylie.
You had run out of the Manor in anger after an argument with Damian. Bruce had sent you and Damian out to investigate some weird activity involving fires. Which you later found out to be Firefly.
When you found Firefly you two didn’t have a plan to apprehend him. You couldn’t call for backup cause everyone was busy fighting their own villains and Damian didn’t like calling for backup anyway. So it was just Damian and you against a bug with a flamethrower. What could go wrong?
Everything. Absolutely everything went wrong. Somehow Firefly got a weapons upgrade that Batman didn’t know about and now his flamethrower is more… powerful.
You and Damian managed to take down Firefly but not before you were injured. You tried hiding the fact that you were injured on the way to the cave. But Damian I-was-raised-by-assassins Wayne noticed.
Once you arrived at the cave, he dragged you to the med bay and berated you for being reckless. Which caused a shouting match.
“Me reckless? Damian, you threw yourself in the line of fire!” you shouted.
“At least I didn’t get hurt!” He countered. You rolled your eyes and started walking to the cave’s elevator. “Where do you think you’re going?!?!”
“Somewhere where I don’t have to see your face!” Damian followed you and before you could get on the elevator he pulled you towards him.
“You need to rest stay here,” he said. The rest of the family were by the computer looking at you two. Deciding whether or not to interrupt.
“Damian what do you care if I’m hurt or not?!?! You certainly didn’t care when we first met!”
“Because I….”
“Because you what, Wayne?!?” Damian sighed and just stood there, avoiding your stare. You scoffed and stormed to the elevator.
That was one of the many fights that had happened. Each getting worse. In the end, he did admit his feelings for you but you had “already” moved on. In reality, you haven’t moved on. You just decided to live in denial. And Damian… Damian did move on.
After the last fight, he had met Kylie and they started dating a week later. It surprised everyone, even you. Kylie and Damian were complete opposites.
A knock interrupted Damian’s thoughts. He turned towards the door and immediately his eyes widen. “Beloved, what are you doing here?”
Kylie walked into the room and closed the door. She leaned on the door and sighed. The wedding was supposed to start in ten minutes and she was not dressed. Her hair was up in a messy bun. she was wearing one of Damian’s t-shirts and some sweats. She didn’t look like she was getting married.
“Dami… Are you sure about this?” she asked.
Damian walked to her and gently cupped her face. “Of course I’m sure I want to marry you. Why wouldn’t I?”
Kylie pulled away from his touch and crossed her arms. “I know you have feelings for y/n.”
Damian opened his mouth to protest but she raised her hand to cut him off. “Please don’t deny it. Every time one of your brother’s brings her up your eye’s light up like a little kid’s on Christmas. Whenever she’s around you’re either happier than usual or sad and you tend to avoid her if you can,“ Kylie said. “What happened? Why aren’t you with her?”
Damian backed away from Kylie and rubbed the back of his neck. “I… After a fight I confessed and… and we just stopped talking… so I just assumed she didn’t share those feelings.”
Kylie took off her engagement ring and gave it to Damian, who took it back in shock. “My first guess is that she didn’t know how to deal with you randomly telling her how you feel. My second guess is that she felt the same for you and probably still does.”
“What am I supposed to do?” Damian said.
Kylie took Damian’s hands in her’s and said, “Go after her. I’ll cancel the wedding.”
“But I can’t do that to you!” Damian exclaimed. Kylie rolled her eyes and smiled.
“Damian I can’t be happy knowing you aren’t. You have sacrificed so much being Robin you deserve at least a happy ending with the girl you truly love.”
Damian and sighed and kissed Kylie on the cheek. “What are you going to tell the guests?”
“I’ll leave that to Jason. Now go!” She said pushing Damian out of the room. Damian ran out of the room pushing past his brothers, father, and best friend. They all looked at him confused but when they saw r/g/f smiling they understood.
You observed the city from on top of Wayne Enterprises. The city was buzzing life. You continued observing until your eyes landed on one of Gotham’s churches. You looked away and walked to the other side of the building. In a couple of hours, Damian and Kylie would be married and it would be all over the news. One of the many cons of dating or being a Wayne.
You sat down on the edge of the building and closed your eyes. It was a miracle security hasn’t caught you, but then again it isn’t. You slowly opened your eyes when you heard footsteps approaching you.
Once the footsteps stopped behind you, someone cleared their throat. You slowly backed away from the ledge and stood up. “Can I help you?” you asked the person. Not turning to face them.
“Actually you can, y/n.”
You turned around and you looked at Damian in surprise. “What… What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be getting married?”
“About that…. Kylie canceled the wedding….”
You tilted your head in confusion. “Why?”
“Uh, she… she told me to… y/n I can’t marry her knowing that I still have feelings for you.”
“Yes, you can.”
Damian sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “That’s not what I meant. y/n I love you not Kylie.”
You stood there in shock. This was the second time he told you he loved you. Except for this time, it was a bit more convincing.
“Can you say something? Please?”
“I…Seriously?!?! You could be happy with Kylie!”
“I don’t think you heard what I said did you?”
You scoffed and looked at Damian. He was being honest. “Damian… I love you too, but…”
“But?”
“I’m not starting a relationship with you until we clear this up with everyone.”
“Deal.”

People don’t like season 2, and here’s what they have to say :
tl;dr: I answer the web’s most vehement complaints about season 2 of American Gods. If you happen to recognize yourself in one of those, then I suggest thinking about it really really hard and, perhaps, giving the show another chance. If you recognize yourself in several of those, please drop the show. It’s not worth wasting your time and especially not ours. (I put a list of helpful cast and production related facts at the end.)
Hi, Nelle here, I’m but a humble fan who wishes to have fun seeing gods bicker and argue among mortals, complete with the craziest of situations, stellar cast and great visuals. And yet I can’t help but hear things when I start browsing this hellsite in quest of juicy fanworks.
Although I’m no Joan Of Arc, I hear voices from above and here’s what I have to shout back (lest I get burned at the stake)  :
“The pacing is all over the place ! It’s too slow !”
Is it tho ? Pacing has been “all over the place” (really meaning: different from what we avid show-viewers are accustomed to) since season 1, we’ve never gotten straight answers out of anything unless we started listening and paying attention to details.
The book (you know, the source material) has four parts, the fourth serving as an epilogue to the whole story, season 2 is most definitely meant to close part 1 which, allegedly, had the slowest of pace to begin with. And it doesn’t even have half the new narratives the show has been creating. So no, it’s not slow. I promise you things are happening.
“It needs to follow the actual book more !!”
What’s a good adaptation ? Is it something that is 100% truthful to the source, down to every word ? Is it something that should offer something for people who don’t know the source ? Or, on the contrary, be something inseparable from it ?
American Gods as a TV show offers new things for people who have read the book and for those who haven’t, while keeping the beloved moments and aspects from the original material.
Why add or change stuff ? Well because, if you’re a book reader, you get welcomed into the state of existential dread that comes with not knowing what happen next, I promise it’s part of the fun. But also because author Neil Gaiman believes that he can do more, do better, with something that was written 20 years ago and needed the changes in a lot of places. He’s aware that he has, in fact, a show to make, and not a carbon copy of the book, as well as a fanbase that deserves to be challenged and entertained.
“Why taking the focus off Shadow ? He’s barely the protagonist anymore !”
Because there are..... characters ? who are also part of the story ? Like, actual stories need characters ? But alright, I know it can get confusing when you have a lot of those, here’s how you can still tell Shadow is the protagonist : months of advertising and the entirety of season 1 which was spent following Shadow with only minor breaks allowing other characters to breathe. Trust me they need the development too, or then we’ll really have reasons to complain.
You want a narrative focusing solely on staying in Shadow’s head ? Alright. Try the book. But here’s my take on its narrating choice, as a graduate in english literature : it’s boring. To the point where Neil Gaiman himself got sad that he couldn’t follow other characters.
“They’re not giving the POCs enough space ! Where are the coming to america segments ? At least they gave actual insights.”
Out of every piece of fiction, I truly don’t think you want to get angry at American Gods for how much room it’s giving POCs... (a 20% white cast ensemble, POCs and especially WOCs writers and directors on production, ethnically accurate casting and writing, diversity positive messages, etc) Really I’m sure there are many other places in the fictional industry were the question of diversity is more than legitimate. American Gods has yet to be one of them, by far.
As for the Coming To America stuff, well, there’s not that many in the book to begin with. There are a whole bunch for sure, but we’ve got over quite a few of them in season 1. If there’s more believers you want, we’re served with the latest episode 4, with humans worshiping both Old and New, and interacting with gods. I’m sure we can review that point again once the season is over.
“Those white directors don’t even know how to read or write POC characters !”
*cough*
here’s a list of the POC directors and writers on episodes 2 to 5 of season 2 only :
Deborah Chow (director)
Aditi Kapil (writer)
Salli Richardson (director)
Rodney Barnes (writer)
Orlando Jones (writer)
That’s half the entire director-writer team for these episodes, with Neil Gaiman being involved. You’ll have to point out to me exactly what you mean by “not writing right”.
“New Media ? 1. she’s a bitch, 2. her actress is just plain bad, 3. she’s a hurtful stereotype.”
And here comes perhaps the trickiest one of all... I’m gonna have to bear with you, as much as you’re gonna have to bear with me :
1. Yes. 2. No. 3. Yes, and it’s a problem, but not for the reasons you think.
First of all, and let’s get it out of the way : actor =/= character nor writing. You think the writing is bad and/or that the character is annoying ? Well, it’s certainly not on the actor. You wanna know the actual level of Kahyun Kim’s acting ? Starring in an Alan Cummings play alongside him. We’ve got a lot to discuss but please keep her out of this.
Second, New Media is an absolute bitch of a character. She’s mocking, manipulative, and too ambitious for anyone’s good. A lot of people seem to love her tho and to that I say good ??? I mean, great if you like her, because she’s got as much potential as the rest of these crazy characters, I’m not here to tell you who you should hate and who you should love.
But there’s a problem you shouldn’t ignore, and that its so far she’s not well written. It’s a terrible thing to say in such a show but she’s really not : because we barely see her talking, because we barely got any scene with her (remember what I said about letting character breathe ?), and because what we’ve seen of her so far is the stereotype of the hypersexualized naive asian girl. Complete with tentacle porn scene. (Whether you felt weirded out, amused or utterly disgusted by this is your own valid opinion.)
The character has been officially described as “the goddess of global content”, “a cyberspace chameleon” and “a master of manipulation.” In recent addition to that, actor Bruce Langley (Technical Boy) has said : “New Media’s willing to be perceived as naive because if she’s being underestimated, when she does make her move, you’d never see it coming, but she knows way more than she lets on.” He then goes on to compare her to Gillian Anderson’s Media.
This proves that the way New Media comes off isn’t a problem of intent (the naive part is calculated and they want the character to be duplicitous, falsely seductive), but of handling, and it’s just as bad. Sure, Gillian’s Media also knew more than she let on for about as much screen time -I’m sure New Media will get to her four scenes in one season-, but she had been grounded in the narrative as her own character, she’s had her exposition speech and time. (See her meeting with Shadow in S01E02) We’ve yet to see that much of Kahyun’s New Media.
Because they do not give her what she needs to be more than a two dimensional character, we find ourselves with a shallow character who doesn’t give too many signs of the thought process everyone seemed to have put into crafting her beforehand, including Kahyun’s acting. This is a serious issue that needs to be handled before the season ends, or she will just stand out like a nasty spot in an overall incredible piece of fiction. Hell even Laura (another very unlikable character) manages to be a great addition to the narrative. Come on people.
You can of course argue that they could have gone for another type or personality for her, other than naive and sex-oriented, for a korean actress to play. You’re right, there’s a lot of aspect of social media that could have been put to work, but not only are we gonna need more than two scenes (at least the tentacles aren’t a regular occurrence so far), but it’s just like they could have not made the Technical Boy hang Shadow.
The New Gods appear as the ‘general bad idea’ we promote through and associate with their element. Mr. World is gonna be the creepy looking government dude, Tech is gonna be the lanky rude geek, they’re gonna be cold, insensitive and selfish. They’re gonna be the things we don’t like. Throughout season 1, Tech Boy was in the same place we find ourselves in with New Media : he was the loud white racist teenager hating on anon on the net, he was unlikable from start to finish, and it’s only once we got inputs from his actor, the writers, and then now that they’re showing more of his story and personality well after season 1 that we see him as the fully complex and interesting character he is.
Let’s all keep our wits about us, not engulf ourselves in blind hate or love, and encourage the writers to prove us all that this character is worth the while like her actress says.
(I still won’t forgive the bitch, but at least she won’t stick out like a sore thumb.)
(if you want Kahyun’s input on her character and experience, here’s a lengthy interview)
"They don't even know how to write their own character, period !"
By all means, tell me your basis of characterization to declare that characters who didn’t even have enough screentime to have much substance in season 1 (except Shadow, but strangely no one complains about him) aren’t written right when their creator is literally hovering over the writers and actors shoulders, because he wants them to be developed and written right.
It’s not Harry Potter, Neil isn’t making up facts about them to make himself look better, maybe accept that the vision you had in your mind wasn’t entirely accurate to the truth of the characters and that’s okay ? You can still write them yourself however you want, tell the stories you want to tell, Neil has made it very clear that he doesn’t consider fan ideas less valuable than his.
“Bryan has such as specific, unique vision ! They’re just trying to copy it and they’re failing.”
Definitely. No really, you’re right, I’m a big fan of Bryan’s work, I lost my mind like everyone else when he said he wasn’t giving up on Hannibal season 4.
But you know who else has a unique vision ? The seven directors who took over (four of those are women) and the show-runner who had already worked with him beforehand. They’re not trying to copy his style, they’re trying to make a smooth transition so fans like you don’t have a hard time mourning the terrible loss of Bryan and Michael. And for every person who noticed the changes, there were just as many who haven’t even paid attention to it.
Concept : some people may watch shows/movies for the story and the characters, not just for who’s behind the camera. (As far as I’m concerned, I actually like the image better. Everything was killer in season 1, and I think it’s even nicer in season 2.)
“Bryan gave us Salim and the Jinn, and now they’re just gonna be cast aside because those directors lack the LGBT+ sensibility Bryan has !”
Alright, yup, sure. As a member of the community myself, I totally recognize that someone who’s also part of it will know firsthand of the subtleties and details to give the best representation possible on screen. The example of Salim and the Jinn is perfectly fine, since the entire segment was indeed beautifully made. But if we cannot allow people from outside to ponder and think about our lives through writing (which is probably the best way for them to start understanding and broadening their mindset), how can we expect wide representation to improve in any meaningful way ? Especially considering that the show has been casting LGBT+ actors, in an environment where the cast is listened to and solicited on their opinions.
And especially when Bryan was not the one who gave you Salim and the Jinn. (Because I’ve seen people genuinely believe it.) Neil Gaiman did. He wrote a gay muslim couple in his book 20 years ago, way before it was considered a political statement. He’s also the one who gave strict and specific directions as to how these very characters should be handled. Because if he expanded Salim and his fire boyfriend Jinn’s story from a one-shot to a full story integrated into his entire narration, then it’s certainly not to pull a “bury your gays” or make them miserable. No need to be LGBT+ to be a decent writer and human being.
“Production was a mess anyway, I knew it’d turn out like this. It sucks without Bryan.”
Define “mess”. Because all the incendiary reports we got throughout early production had been utter bullshit.
Showrunners being “fired” ? Bullshit. “Disastrous” organization ? Bullshit. “Screaming matches” between directors and actors ? Bullshit. Actors “refusing” to come back ? Bullshit.
Every report that wasn’t made through direct input of the cast or production team was not only wildly exaggerated, but also fake ? But please, hear it from Neil himself :
It was weirder for me to read some of the stuff online that said, “Oh, my god, American Gods, behind the scenes, is all falling apart.” I was going, “But they just shot four episodes, and everything is fine. They’re doing some re-shoots, but they’re doing less re-shoots than they did in Season 1.” [...]
I was reading Steven Bochco’s biography on the tube, going into work on Good Omens, every morning, and learning about what went down on Hill Street Blues, and then on NYPD Blue. That was worse, by a factor of thousands, than anything that happened on American Gods. A showrunner came, and a showrunner left. That’s not even an unusual thing. [...] The weirdest thing for me was putting out a thing on Twitter on Season 2, and having a bunch of people go, “We thought this was canceled.” No, it’s not canceled. In its own mad way, it’s on schedule.
(Source)
The show was never in any danger, much less in jeopardy. It's overreactions to false rumors and dramatic assumptions that can kill a show faster than a showrunner leaving. You want to be critical of a production ? Go ahead, and check your sources and facts. Please. I promise most of the time it’s not worth the worry, much less losing all hope.
“Bryan cared, they’re just ruining what he’s built.”
I dare you to watch any cast interview and tell me these people don’t care about the show, and that they do not value the work everyone else (from hair department to makeup artists, producers, writers, directors and costume team) puts into it as well.
I’ve watched my fair share of shows, I’m curious about production and behind-the-scenes material in general, and I’ve never seen a group of people being so genuinely happy and passionate about what they do and create together.
Neil took time out of preparing Good Omens (which he was showrunning himself) to be more active because he knew things would be different between season 1 and 2. Ricky Whittle (Shadow) had his contract reviewed to better accommodate shooting and planning. Orlando Jones (Nancy) contributed to writing episodes (especially regarding Black history and representation) and brought inputs on characterization. Ian Mcshane (Mr. Wednesday) participated in directing when he explicitly said during season 1 that he wasn’t interested in working as a director on this kind of show.
And that’s for the well-known names only. Go on the American Gods hashtag on instagram, you’ll find all the various artists who participated in crafting all the details found in new episodes. They’re out there talking about how excited they were to work on it all, how they did it, the love they have for the show and crew. They’re active and positive in every way you can be, please tell me how much they don’t care.
Production made the choice of taking its time making this season rather than rushing it when it’s been very clear that delaying can cause massive loss of viewers, because they care more about how the show comes out than what people actually think. They took in stride whatever problem a show of this magnitude could naturally encounter (again guys, no disaster happened) and worked to solve it the best way they could because they were perfectly aware that we fans care. And somehow that’s what made some of yall disappointed ??
If you seriously think Bryan (and Michael, some people forget about him smh) cared more about American Gods than these people -when he, in fact, cared just as much-, then by all means, leave right with him.
(Also uhm, idk if you noticed, but they’re both still credited in the fucking opening. Because, you know, they’re going by the bases they’ve settled.)
Some (hopefully) helpful facts :
+ Bryan and Michael weren’t fired, they walked out of the show after mutual understanding with the rest of the production that they weren’t agreeing on budget and realization. They concluded that pushing it would just be harmful to the show.
+ Likewise, Jesse Alexander (second showrunner) wasn’t evicted but stepped out once disagreements rose as to how to handle the end of the season. Again, they found a solution fairly quickly.
+ Gillian Anderson had only signed for season 1. Whether her character will ever be seen again (probably in flashbacks) is entirely up in the air. No promises, no impossibilities.
+ Both Kristin Chenoweth (Ostara) and Chris Obi (Anubis) have not been able to contribute to season 2 due to conflicts in their schedules.
+ Neil Gaiman has been much more involved in the production of season 2 as he had finished shooting Good Omens, something which took up most of his time when season 1 was produced.
+ Taking time producing a show =/= production being a disaster.
+ Always go for the reports/articles involving interviews and/or inputs of the persons actually working on the project (cast members, producers, writers, directors). Those are the most reliable sources you can fight. (Just remember that there’s always a possibility for fake news/drama online !)

I have a Rick and Morty crossover theory about the Joker’s past, because why wouldn’t I?
So what exactly WAS in the toxic chemicals that the man who became the Joker fell into? What, exactly, makes up the fluid in Rick Sanchez’s portal gun? What if somebody who worked at Axis Chemicals -- possibly a Rick? -- stumbled upon the recipe for interdimensional travel goo, and it somehow ended up in that vat?
What would it be like to fall into interdimensional chemicals? Absolutely submerged, like the Joker was?
Well, here’s my theory: all at once, you’d experience every timeline that led to your submersion into said chemicals. You’d remember everything about being a sadistic career criminal that leads the Red Hood gang. You’d remember everything about being a naive former engineer and failed comedian, manipulated into playing the fall guy during the heist, all while numb with grief from losing your pregnant wife. You’d live every single permutation of what brought you to Batman, to the chemicals.
Then you crawl out, disoriented and confused by every life you just lived, and look at your reflection in the water. You see this:
Tumblr media
Kind of understandable that the mind would snap, you’d forget which timeline is yours, and you’d come up with an entirely different, maniacal identity. Bits and pieces make their way into every version of the Joker: the Joker from the sadistic gangster timeline (TAS,’89 Burton film) has the engineer’s lab knowledge to create Smilex and Laughing Gas; meanwhile, the engineer-comedian (Killing Joke/Hush series version, who I’ll refer to as “KJ Joker”) inherits the sadism and criminal connections from his gangster counterpart ( “TAS Joker”).
In fact, I’d argue the KJ Joker is ironically more disturbed and sadistic than TAS Joker, because he is in fact living in the Killing Joke universe where his wife’s death is so near to him. This raw grief combined with these new memories of being a powerful and violent criminal create something monstrous enough to do what he did to the Gordons.
It’s difficult to say what made TAS Joker evil from the beginning, and not KJ. I suppose you could say Nurture over Nature wins in this case: maybe TAS Joker’s father or mother suffered a head injury that made them violent and abusive, and maybe in the Killing Joke timeline there was never an injury and they treated little Jack just fine. Or maybe TAS Joker received the head injury as a child.
I mean, personally, I believe in both Nature and Nurture. I think someone with a naturally disturbed disposition can learn to control themselves if they have a healthy background and if they really want to be a better person -- but that means they have to have some goodness in them, because Dennis Rader had a healthy upbringing, and still was a demon from the start. Conversely, someone who is naturally level-headed and good can go through horrifying ordeals and emerge with their morality intact.
I remember watching a documentary about this researcher who discovered he was a distant descendant of Lizzie Borden’s family. He spoke to his family and co-workers, and was a bit nonplussed to find they...weren’t that surprised. “Oh, yeah. Well...you do seem a little emotionally detached at times. A little short on empathy.” Yet they still loved and respected him. Why? Well, he’d had a very happy, loving upbringing and was able to marry and have a happy family life grown up, as well.
He very freely admits he might have gone down a much darker path if he didn’t have that background growing up.
So that’s basically my conception of the KJ Joker. A maybe not totally good man who is able to function in society because he grew up in a normal family and met a wonderful woman who became his soulmate.
Yet when that’s taken away very violently and suddenly, and he suddenly sees all the darker versions of himself that led to his transformation into a demon clown? Well, we see what happens. It probably wouldn’t have happened to Bruce Wayne or Jim Gordon, because at their core, they’re better people than the Joker in any timeline.
Which brings me to the character of Jeannie, and the possibility for some great fanfic au’s I might write someday.
What if in the gangster timeline, she’s alive? She never met him before his transformation, because he was hard and evil from the start, and she was off doing her Jeannie thing elsewhere.
Yet just as KJ remembers all the life experiences of TAS Joker, so TAS Joker remembers the happy marriage that ended tragically for the engineer-comedian. TAS Joker isn’t as close to that past, but it’s definitely part of the rotation of Multiple Choice Pasts he remembers occasionally. He probably thinks he’s making her up: there are numerous references throughout TAS and Burton’s movie that he’s usually aware he has mob connections, and there was no way he had a wife stashed away somewhere or that he was doing standup comedy on the side.
So what happens if he runs into Jeannie in this timeline?
Maybe she gets a job as custodian at Arkham. Maybe he runs into her while escaping Batman down Gotham streets. Just as there are countless timelines that led him to the chemicals, there are countless timelines after.
What does seeing Jeannie alive do to him in these various timelines?
We know KJ Joker reveres her memory, as we see him reaching out for her solemnly in Killing Joke after his first flashback, and in the Hush series we see him mournfully looking at her pictures. But would TAS Joker be this sentimental about her? After all, if KJ Joker inherited the unrestrained sadism of TAS Joker, would it make sense that TAS Joker inherit some of the sincere sentiment from the grieving widower?
Or would this new entity, the Joker, simply not care? Would he find her just another cosmic punchline? Would he hurt her, lash out at her? Try to destroy this living embodiment of his dead humanity?
You see, Jeannie in this timeline would have no clue why Joker would recognize her. She was never dunked in interdimensional chemicals, so all she knows is the timeline she’s currently in. She never met Jack Napier or the Joker before. She’s just an average lady with a slightly sick sense of humor and a good heart. Once upon a different timeline, this person infatuated a more well-balanced Jack Napier, but what would the Joker make of her now?
Anyway, this is the weird stuff that keeps me up at night. I’d love any thoughts.

hey, don’t they look an awful lot like JESSICA CHASTAIN? but according to our files, they are PAMELA ISLEY, otherwise known as POISON IVY, from DC. our records tell us they are a THIRTY year old CISFEMALE using SHE/HER pronouns. i’ve heard they can be INTELLIGENT, but also MOODY and that they are an ANTI-HERO. they PERISHED at the hands of thanos.
tw: abuse, murder, drugs, death, ptsd
HOW LONG HAS YOUR MUSE BEEN IN MERAVIGLIA? pamela has been on mera for a year.
DID YOUR MUSE ‘DIE’ WHEN THANOS SNAPPED HIS FINGERS? yes, she did. she was laying in bed with her wife at the time. in one hand she had a book, and with the other she was running her fingers through harley’s hair. one minute she’s reading, and the next, she was gone.
IF YES, HOW DID THEY REACT TO THEIR ‘DEATH’? angry, mostly. angry because she knows harley very well and knows harley’s reaction to pamela disappearing before her very eyes would be a violent one. it’d be bad and pamela wouldn’t be there to stop it. to help her wife calm down.
IF THEY ‘DIED’ IN THE SNAP, WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN UP TO IN THE PAST YEAR ON MERAVIGLIA? learning about plants and taking care of them. she doesn’t always go and talk to people, as she doesn’t always want to, but she did get a botany shop. she’s pleased with it, as it gives her more space to care for plants, and she’s very very fascinated by all the new kinds of flora. if she were to speak honestly, she would say that she didn’t hate it here. everyday she misses her wife, but she doesn’t mind this new planet at all.
HOW HAVE THEY HANDLED INTERACTING WITH THE LOCALS? she doesn’t mind them. if anything, she feels like she almost fits in. her markings aren’t identical to theirs, but she takes pride in them, and comfort in knowing she’s no longer the only one with said markings.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR MUSE?
backstory
born with an aversion to sunlight, pamela isley was locked away from the world by her (abusive) father. despite having a prescription for a lotion that would protect her skin, pamela was forbidden from going outside entirely
one day, her mother allowed her to play outside, which ended in her father punching her mother and giving her a black eye
as if nothing had happened, pamela’s mother went outside and began gardening, and then explained to pamela that she liked gardening because the flowers listen to her, and sometimes, if she were very quiet, they would speak back to her
the abuse continued, despite her mother always telling her it was nothing to worry about. everytime her father would hit her mother, he would buy her forgiveness with flowers, and the garden would grow
this is how pamela learned that flowers could manipulate people
however, she also learned about human cruelty when her father murdered her mother in cold blood, and she witnessed the whole thing
he then buried her mother under her own garden before he was ultimately arrested and later sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of domestic violence and murder
college days
while in college, pamela created designer drugs, dealing pheromone pills in order to study their effects
when the university learned of her activites, she was expelled and put in jail, though she had already used her pills to get the dean under her thumb, so the charges were dropped
after graduating, pamela visited her father in prison for the first time since the murder of her mother. he sat in silence, staring at her, waiting for her to make the first move. after a time, she proceeded to to get out of her seat and kiss him on the lips
by the morning, he was dead, and the toxin used to kill him was untraceable
the dean secured pamela an internship at wayne enterprises straight out of college, and she helped develop pharmaceuticals and cosmetic applications, but she always had greater aspirations
becoming poison ivy
pamela used her pheromones to get a meeting with bruce wayne, where she pitched  a business project that would cut his advertising division by 100%
using the pheromones to get the meeting was her proof that wayne enterprises could use pheromones to target clients & modify their behaviour to the company’s benefit
however, wayne refused her pitch because it amounted to brainwashing, and removed free choice. ethically opposed, wayne fired her on the spot and warned her that his company owned any research she had done, so she would not be ale to pitch her idea elsewhere
angry, she ran past security to steal whatever she could of her work. specifically, the plant serum she had made from her knowedge in botanical research, which she alone knew how to make.
in the process, she was doused with her own chemicals, which changed her – made her immune to poisons and viruses, and gave her command over all plant life and connecting her inexorably to the green, and gave her control over pheromones
she became an eco-terrorist, using her abilities to strike back at those who struck out at the green
facts & personality
pamela is married to harley quinn
head over heels in love with her. would do anything for her. they are soft
dog mom to nathan the dachshund (along with harley ofc)
generally pamela cares more for the green over people, but harley and their animals are the exceptions to this
absolutely despises the joker, has most likely threatened his life on multiple occasions in an attempt to get it through his thick skull that he needs to stay away from her wife
frequently has mood swings. one minute she’s sugar & spice & everything nice, and the next she can be the complete opposite
she honestly would want nothing more than to just live in solitude with harley and their pets, but if people fuck with her plants she’s gotta go Fight
absolutely will have a garden eventually here, she can’t live somewhere without having a garden tbh
she genuinely thinks very little of humanity tbh, like thinks they ain’t shit
but despite that she has a love for children, which probably stems from the abuse she endured during her own childhood
can be very cold at times, especially if it’s something she decides she doesn’t really care about
very smart
has loose morals
always running in heels. literally what are other shoes? flats, sneakers, etc? forget about em. heels only
used to be super naive, now she’s very cynical
rarely ever works well with others, let alone with a team. she has her own agenda and follows it very closely
