This is a Ghost Story: Part VII

We do a lot of research on ghosts, Ghost and I. Their abilities, the lore. Because it doesn’t seem like becoming one came with any sort of a rule book. Life, I find, generally doesn’t, and evidently that is the case with death as well. There are a few big things that come up again and again, and one of them is the desire to pass on. the idea that there is some task keeping them here, an injustice to put right, some resentment to be avenged.

«Do you want that?» I ask, «to pass on?»

There is a long pause, long enough that I begin to doubt whether they are there at all. But then, where would they have gone?

S-c-a-r-e-d-w-h-a-t-i-f-h-e-l-l

«Is that something you believe in? Or did when you were alive?»

The whole room seems to shiver, curtains rustling, loose paper fluttering, cabinet doors shifting half open.

N-e-i-t-h-e-r-w-e-r-e-g-h-o-s-t-s

«That’s fair. Not that I want you to go, you’re the best flatmate I’ve had, despite your failure to pitch in with the rent. It just seems to be a culturally pervasive idea. But then, so is ghosts being needlessly aggressive and destructive. Which, I mean, now that I’ve largely switched to plastic and bamboo kitchenware is less of an issue than it was. And now that you’ve agreed to remove the blood messages on your own.»

I give the approximate place I assume them to be a sad smile. I still can’t see them while talking. It has to be pretty dark for me to see the dark shape with the reflecting eyes, too dark for me to also read the spirit board. So I picture them across from me, on the other side of the coffee table. I even moved the one armchair to that spot, although I doubt spectral people need furniture. It felt rude not to give them the option, though.

«Yeah. I get that. I mean, you’ve been dead longer than you were alive now, right, more or less? That’s weird to think about. That you’d be like my parents’ age or something if you were still alive. Makes it feel weirdly real somehow.»

«No, I know. Sorry.»

«Not sure anyone does, really. Most people still feel like a lost twenty something who just got really good at pretending, I think. You only feel old when you’re young.»

«Yeah. Sometimes. I’m older than you were when you died, you know. I mean, not by much, but- yeah. A little.»

I lean back into the sofa for a moment, sipping my glass of wine. It feels right for what is technically a seance. Most of the conversations I have in my home these days are seances. I keep a lot of candles around, though they aren’t really necessary for ghost. It’s mostly me who feels they add to the atmosphere. Make it feel right somehow. Like the cheap cards for scrying I got. I haven’t looked into a crystal ball yet, but that’s mainly because they’re expensive and heavy and the shipping on them is a nightmare. Besides, getting things sent in from outside the city is a slow process at the best of times. No one day delivery here. Whatever it is that makes this place as fucked up as it is applies to the postal system at least as much as everything else. Which begs the question-

«Do you know why this city is so weird? Can your, uh, ghostly eyes see what’s wrong with it? I mean, I don’t know about any other place that’s uh, that’s quite as weird.»

N-o-c-l-u-e-w-e-i-r-d-f-o-r-g-h-o-s-t-s-t-o-o

«Yeah, that tracks, honestly. I’m getting closer to saving up for that spirit box, by the way. It would be nice to hear you speak, if it works.»

«Well, no, but this refurbished one I got for nearly nothing is… fine. Besides, anyone can have a computer. I’d rather have the chance to talk to you. Also, to be fair, a spirit box is cheaper than a laptop.»

B-u-t-l-e-s-s-e-n-t-e-r-t-a-i-n-i-n-g

Ghost figured out recently, before the break in of course, that with a lot of effort they can use my computer. It’s slow and laborious and as I understand it quite exhausting, but they are very excited about the internet, the existence of which they had heard of but not really been able to access before. It helps, they say, talking. Makes them feel more connected to life not only emotionally but also helps them interact with the physical world more easily. Which is quite cool, although their poltergeisting was already quite impressive, I thought. But apparently that’s easier. The spooky stuff comes more naturally, and the being a little more considerate takes more effort.

«Do you think you could possess someone?»

D-o-n-t-k-n-o-w

«Not tried?»

«Could be fun. You said you missed, you know, sensory experiences. Which I get. I mean, sometimes ghosts can do that, right, and not just demons?»

W-h-a-t-w-o-u-l-d-i-p-o-s-s-e-s-s

I shrug.

«Me? Be easier with a person who understands and consents, I imagine.»

There is a long silence, and after a while I go over to the kitchenette and fill up my wine glass again. As soon as I sit back down the planchette begins to move. In the beginning i kept writing it down, but by now I find the reading and deciphering where the breaks would og pretty easy and fluent. I guess you get used to most kinds of communication after a while.

Y-o-u-w-o-u-l-d-l-e-t-m-e

«Sure, why not? You seem- well, given your manner of death maybe responsible isn’t the best word, but trustworthy? You scared away robbers for me. You make me get to work on time. You have somewhat questionable taste in TV, but then again so do I, probably, just in a different way. I don’t know. I guess you could make me commit suicide, but then you would have to find a new body. Or you might never give mine back, I suppose that’s a worry. But I don’t thionk you seem like the kind of person who would do that. We don’t even know if that would let you leave your little zone of existence.»

They seem to need a little time to think about that, so I take the opportunity to google a bit about ghost possessions. Usually they seem to be bad things, but usually these accounts are from fiction. Most people’s experiences seem to run more toward having ghosts touch them. We already know they can do that, though. Although it doesn’t feel quite like a human hand. Some people report being certain something was another person until they turned around and realised they were alone, whilst others claim the touch felt cold and unearthly. Ghost leans more towards the latter genre. I don’t know why. I worry whether it would be rude to ask whether it is because by the time they died the skin had more or less melted off their fingers, leaving only a sort of bony claw situation. That might be it. I don’t know what that would feel like, and I can’t imagine asking.

«Oh, no worries. Do you want me to do some more reasearch into how it works? I know we probably won’t find any very concrete instructions, at least not ones that are real, but hey, it’s worth a try, yeah?»

A/N: Making gender neutral Haruhi Fujioka content because she’s criminally underrated in fic

Word Count: 1996

A: Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Haruhi shows her affection by helping you and spending time with you. She’s actually quite affectionate. She’s pretty private with it, especially when the twins are around, but she likes to be held by you, preferring to scoot closer to you to lean her head on your shoulder.

B: Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

As a best friend, Haruhi is really good at giving you logical/calm advice . Like she’s very blunt and to the point and it might hurt your feelings a little but she never does it out of ill will. Also Haruhi is the best for doing random hobbies or going to random places because she’s just like oh ok and she won’t make fun of you or anything. Overall a good best friend to vibe with that’s also hella responsible.

C: Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Haruhi isn’t really big on cuddling. She doesn’t mind it and she’ll cuddle if you want but she’s not one to initiate. The one exception is during storms, Haruhi won’t even say anything to you, she’ll just walk up to you and let you hold her while she’s shaking until she falls asleep.

D: Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Haruhi is literally the spokesperson of domesticity across the world. Ms. girl has a whole recipe book don’t even play. However, while cooking and cleaning were things she picked up out of necessity, she loves you all the more because you do this for her without her even needing to ask.

E: Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

If Haruhi had to break up with you, she’s very solemn about it. It’s almost formulaic like she practiced it 1000x (spoiler alert: she did). She cherishes every moment you both spent together, but she feels it’s best if you remained friends.

F: Fiance(e) (How would they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Haruhi really doesn’t care either way about marriage. She’s not super traditional in the sense that marriage is a deal breaker, but if you do have a wedding, she’d like it to be simple, with your closest friends and family. Do be warned that Ranka will be slightly butt-hurt if you don’t get married, however the fight between her and Tamaki on who gets to walk Haruhi down the aisle is probably worth getting married.

G: Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Physically and emotionally, Haruhi is very gentle and attentive. Physically, she’s very gentle, mainly because she’s unsure of what you’re okay with and the both of you are just getting a feeling for what you want. However, later on in your relationship, she’s still gentle but she gives her affection a lot more openly in a way that’s still secretive, like placing a kiss on your cheek and walking away like nothing happened. Emotionally, Haruhi is very attentive to the emotions of those around her, even if that person is very private or generally good at hiding their emotions.

H: Hugs( Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?

Haruhi is fine with hugs, she doesn’t really initiate them but she’ll just stand there and let you hug her if you need to. The only time she doesn’t like hugs is when they lead to her being the center of attention and getting hugs from behind. Please don’t hug her from behind, it reminds her of when she got thrown in the ocean during the beach episode and she’s also afraid you might pick her up.

I: I love you (How fast do they say the L-word)

It takes Haruhi quite some time to confess her love to you because admittedly she’s a little dense when it comes to her own feelings. Once she realizes it, it’s all a matter of the perfect time.

J: Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous)

Haruhi’s jealousy is kinda deadpan. Like when she gets jealous, her face just goes blank and she just looks like ‘-_-’ the whole time. She’s silent and won’t make a fuss about it, even if the two of you are alone, but the whole time, she’s making that face until the person she’s jealous of goes away.

K: Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Haruhi’s kisses are polite in a way. She kisses like she’s grateful for the opportunity, she does get a little needy when pulling away. She’s always going on and on about how she could kiss you forever.

L: Little ones (How are they around children)

Around kids, Haruhi is honestly like the best. She’s very practical,, responsible, and pretty good at tuning out things that annoy her (read, the entire Ouran Highschool Host Club minus Mori) so she makes for a good babysitter and an even better parent. She’s also very attentive when it comes to kids, she doesn’t quite have the intuition for it but she has a determination and a willingness to learn.

M: Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Mornings with Haruhi are very sweet. Haruhi and you will get up and make a meal together, even if it’s something simple like toast, Haruhi loves spending time with you, and what better way to do it than a slow morning.

N: Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights with Haruhi are nice, they’re sweet and slow. Haruhi will brew you both a thing of peppermint or chamomile tea and then you’ll be out like a light before you even know it. That’s when the real battle starts. Haruhi can and will snatch the covers from you and she’s surprisingly strong for someone unconscious. Good luck on recovering that blanket friend.

O: Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Haruhi is pretty open already. She is a natural after all, any vulnerabilities she has have been shared and any concerns have been brought up to you as her s/o

P: Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Haruhi’s patience is going to get a 76% rating. She does mind her business and make an effort not to be involved in certain things, but drama and mess always seem to just find her. Haruhi does not like messiness or any form of foolishness or buffoonery at all, she doesn’t care for it and is quick to anger when she comes across it.

Q: Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Haruhi remembers things about you in order of like responsibility. So she’s like memorizing your allergies, your emergency contacts, clothes and shoe size, etc. like she’s almost like a parent in that regard. She does it almost unconsciously too like one day you’ll be out at some street fair and she’s like “oh no Y/N that’ll trigger your allergies” without even missing a beat like it’s almost terrifying sometimes.

R: Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Her favorite moment in your relationship is when you got tickets for you both to go to a butterfly garden and you proceeded to spend about 20 minutes hyping Haruhi up on her outfit before you even left for the sanctuary. Once you both got there, you took so many pictures of Haruhi surrounded by flowers and butterflies, and honestly she looked ethereal. But that day with you she smiled and laughed so much that her face was a little sore when she got home.

S: Security (How protective are they? How would they like to be protected?)

Please protect this girl, she’s so sweet. Haruhi protects you by just sort of checking on your needs. The way she needs/ deserves to be protected is the real focus. Of course the general looking out for each other, but if you protect Haruhi like emotionally and she’s yours for life. A a kid, despite her dad’s best efforts, Haruhi wasn’t exactly protected, she had to do a lot of fending for herself and her dad, and she doesn’t resent him for that, but it does affect the way she thinks. So if you can prove that you’re a constant source of support for her,,,

T: Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

In terms of her gifts, and any anniversaries, Haruhi is extremely thoughtful. Even if she doesn’t have much money she still plans meticulously to make sure you have the best day. Her gifts tend to lean on the more practical side as opposed to the fanciful side but if she’s able to, she’ll still try to get you something like a charm bracelet. In terms of dates, Haruhi is still meticulous but most of your dates are you two doing some task but together. She tries very hard though to make time in her day for you even if you both only get to spend an hour or 2 together.

U: Ugly (What are some bad habits of theirs? (I’m gonna add arguments here because they aren’t on the prompt list I found))

A bad habit Haruhi has is that she tends to downplay serious issues. She tends to downplay her own issues but on occasion she does tend to downplay your feelings. Not intentionally of course, but you’ll be upset and she’ll just go “Y/N, that seems really small to be so upset about” in that deadpan tone. She does work on it though, but her tendency to downplay issues does cause arguments between you two.

V: Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Haruhi puts in enough effort to impress you. She’s not big on being ‘vain’ but she does like to look nice for you.

W: Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Not at all, in fact, one of Haruhi’s favorite parts of your relationship is that fact that you can both spend time apart and still want to come back home to each other. As much as she loves you, she still has other things in life that she wants outside of you. It fills her with the greatest sense of joy to know that you both have each other’s back and are there for each other after everything.

X: (E)xes (Any previous relationship experience. How does that factor into your current relationship?)

Haruhi canonically has 0 relationship experience and it’s completely her fault. She’s just very goal-oriented and a little oblivious romantically so she can’t really tell when someone likes her unless they tell her at which point she informs them that she’s got shit to do.

Y: Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner)

In general, it takes a lot for Haruhi to genuinely dislike someone as a person. She’s pretty level headed so it takes a lot for her emotions to override her ,mind like that. She tends to have character traits that are more of a no than people that she doesn’t like, a few things get her mad though, are inconsiderateness, thinking the world revolves around you, and of course, rich people.

Z: Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

You got Haruhi a sleeping mask with her initials on them and she sleeps with it pretty much every night. Like she has a schedule, it’s part of her night time routine there’s no going back now, even if she’s going on vacation, she’ll triple-check to make sure she’s grabbed it.

I don’t know if he ever runs out of stamina. I mean, he’s been training to be a hero since he could walk, and when he’s older, his vigorous training doesn’t stop. And given the amount of rounds he puts you through before he even thinks about himself mean you’re unlikely to find the end of his stamina

T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them on a partner or themselves?)

Shōto does a lot of research into toys that will increase your pleasure, he’s just initially worried about bringing those ideas up to you in case you don’t like them

U = Unfair (how much do they tease?)

He’s unlikely to tease you to begin with, unless you ask him. If he’s teasing you, it’ll be when one of you brings up the idea of edging you, although it’s not really teasing. DATING SUPER JUNIOR HEADCANON A⇴Z ⇴ Park Jeongsu

A ⇴ AFFECTION

Jeongsu is very affectionate with you, always with tinted cheeks as he gets so shy. He’s very cuddly, especially late at night when he’s tired. He loves to make sure that you feel loved and taken care of whether that means pulling you into a tight hug or simply holding your hand.

B ⇴ BEFORE DATING

He talks to anyone, and you were no different, so it didn’t take long before the two of you got to know each other. You weren’t sure if he was just being friendly, as he was to everyone, or if he really did like you, but he was more than sure. The boys couldn’t shut him up from the moment he started to tell them all about you, from then, they knew you were the one for him.

C ⇴ CONFESSION

Surprisingly, he became very shy when it came to confessing to you. He tried to avoid the topic a few times by making himself busy with work, but eventually he realised that this wasn’t something he could put off forever. He was surprised to see how relieved you were when he confessed to you, all your worries about whether the feeling was mutual finally disappeared. As soon as you confessed your feelings too, he pulled you into the tightest hug to hide his red cheeks.

Your dates typically ended up at his apartment to give you both plenty of privacy, not to mention how much Jeongsu loved to cook for you. People of all generations know exactly who he is which makes dates in public quite a challenge, so if you do go out for dates, he’ll tend to take you to a restaurant where you can sit somewhere secluded and out of the way. Luckily for him, your favourite dates were at his house too, just the two of you with a good meal, and then cuddling up on the sofa at the end of the night. They never stayed the two of you for long however, Koongie was well known to interrupt you both at the worst moments.

At his age, it’s only natural that Jeongsu has been on a few dates and had a couple of short relationships, but never anything long term. He’d never found someone that was able to work alongside his career, until he met you. As the leader, he felt a duty to conduct himself in the right way as an idol should, but he wasn’t getting any younger and he was desperate to find love. Finding someone like you, he couldn’t bring himself to let you go, unlike any other girl he had dated he was determined to make it work with you so that he could look more to the future.

F ⇴ FIGHTING

There are very few arguments between you both, usually you’ll end up squabbling like children and then quickly making up, he’d had enough arguments with his members over the years to add you to the list. Sometimes he tends to keep his feelings bottled up to try and protect you, but they end up blowing up and he’ll eventually shout at you, but quickly apologise. No arguments ever blew up like the Incheon Battle, he’d matured a lot since those times, and the two of you were much more similar than he and Heechul were. If the two of you did ever argue, he’d tend to walk away from the situation, using time as a healer for you both.

G ⇴ GETTING TO KNOW HIS FAMILY

The issues his family has had over the years have been well publicised, so Jeongsu will be desperate for you to get on with his family. You could never fill the hole his family had left but you tried hard to impress them all. Seeing how happy you made Jeongsu though after a lot of pain, they loved you and soon warmed to you and welcomed you into the family.

H ⇴ HOME

It didn’t take long before the idea of moving you into his home came to Jeongsu. He was quite keen on having someone around to listen to him rather than walking around and talking to himself. Whilst he knew that for most people his mysophobia would be difficult to deal with, he was more than willing to try and find a compromise in order to make you happy at his home. Only a few months into your relationship he was ready to hand over a key.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

Jeongsu was the first to say, ‘I love you,’ when you surprised him at a taping one day. He’d had the day from hell, but seeing your face just made everything better. As soon as the take was over, he was straight over to you and pulling you into a giant hug, whispering the words into your ear, still making the effort to hide his face so that you couldn’t see his blush.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

He didn’t tend to get jealous too often, even if he did struggle with his insecurities at times. He likes attention, which everyone knows, so if he doesn’t have your attention then he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure he has it. He tries hard to mask his jealousy, but everyone can tell whenever he’s feeling envious just by the look on his face. Out of the two of you, you tend to get more jealous. Seeing how social he is and how loved he is can be a little hard on you at times, any event that the two of you go to people want to speak to him, but you try hard to be a supportive girlfriend, and Jeongsu will always make you feel better when you’re alone again.

K ⇴ KIDS

All of the boys have expressed a desire to have children, but none of them are more desperate than Jeongsu. Most nights he’ll find himself dreaming of what the house will be like with children running around and what they’d look like. He’s very open with you that he wants children, and he’s more than willing to wait a year or too, but after that, he’ll be desperate to start a family with you and finally become a father.

L ⇴ LAUGHTER

He tends to make you laugh when he least realises he is doing out. You’ll always tune into him talking away to himself around the house which makes you smile, shaking your head in disbelief at him. When he does want to make you laugh, he knows exactly what to do, he’s well known for his dad jokes and wordplay, and he knows it works on you too. Your laughter really can brighten up his days, coming home and hearing your giggles solves everything, even just for a few moments. He knows exactly how to cheer you up, as you do with him.

M ⇴ MISSING

Jeongsu is used to putting on a brave face whenever the group is away from home, but that all changed when he met you. Video calls and texts just weren’t the same for him, he liked to have the physical contact with you. You’d try and contact him as much as you can, but time zones never worked in your favours. If you took too long to reply or answer he tended to get quite agitated and worried, and that would definitely show onstage. His members, especially Siwon, tried hard to comfort him, but when he was really missing you it was hard for anyone to know exactly how to make him feel better, especially when you still weren’t around.

N ⇴ NICKNAMES

You always remembered on your second date how Jeongsu told you how he liked to be called, ‘bub,’ which stuck throughout your relationship. He was very traditional with his nicknames for you, more often than not he’d refer to you as, ‘bub.’

O ⇴ OBSESSION

He was obsessed with your smile; it was his favourite sight in the world. He loved seeing you happy, especially when he was the reason for it. He’d spend all day making you smile if he had to, he just loved to see it.

P ⇴ PDA

Whilst he’s very protective and private of your relationship, that doesn’t stop Jeongsu from being affectionate with you in public. His hand can usually be found holding onto yours to make sure that you’re close to him, or if he has a small break he’ll try and cuddle up to you for a while to keep himself calm. He’ll try to private in interviews too, but as everyone knows, once you get him talking, he doesn’t stop.

Q ⇴ QUESTIONS

Being so talkative, he’ll ask you a question about literally anything. Sometimes it will just be to make sure you’ve eaten, other times he’ll ask your opinion on flat earth theory or something just to initiate a conversation.

R ⇴ RANDOM FACTS

One thing he’s learnt to love recently is his YouTube channel, and so for any special occasions in your relationship, he’ll always upload a little video of videos he’s taken of you, without you even knowing. It’s the only real time the fans get to see any part of your relationship too, but he also loves to look back on all your memories whilst also showing off how good his editing skills are getting too.

S ⇴ SEX

He likes to dominate during sex and show off his tones body to you. He’s very protective and loving and will tend to hold you in his arms to keep you close to him. He’s a busy guy, but he’ll always make time for you. Sex is never rushed with Jeongsu, he likes to take his time with you, and also make sure he can absorb as much of your attention as he possibly can for a while. He takes great care of you and will only ever do what you’re comfortable doing.

Everything good in his life felt like it came from you. Over the years he’d began to feel quite lonely and disconnected, but you brought him back into the real world and picked him up every time he felt himself experiencing a low point.

V ⇴ VACATION

Jeongsu very rarely had time to go on vacations, so when he went overseas with the band or an individual, he tried hard to make sure that you could go to. Whenever he had free time, he’d find something for the two of you to do or explore. If he did have time to take you on holiday, he’d make sure to pull out of all of the stops as a thank you for putting up with him and his incredibly busy schedule.

W ⇴ WHINING

Again, if he doesn’t have your attention, he’ll definitely whine. He won’t stop at anything to make sure that he has your attention and you’re listening to him.

X ⇴ XXXXX

He absolutely loves to kiss you when he’s got you close to him, but as with any affection, it always makes him shy around you. He’s very loving with his kisses, always lingering for a little longer than he needs to, to make sure that the emotion is felt in his kiss. When he wants a little more from you too, he’ll always make sure to tell you with a kiss.

You were his best friend, the light that he needed to really feel like Jeongsu.

A Pre-Spray Eccomiah SFW Alphabet!

After seeing that SFW Alphabets exist, I decided to delve deeper into Jeremiah and Ecco’s relationship during the Pre-Spray days. All of these answers are based on personal headcanons. (If you’re curious in seeing an expanded version of my headcanons, feel free to check out ‘Jeremiah and His Echo’ on Wattpad and AO3. Without further ado, let’s get started! (An FYI: I will not be doing any NSFW Alphabets due to the fact that they make me uncomfortable. 👍🏻)

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Both Jeremiah and Ecco are generally affectionate towards one another. This being said, it’s not to the point where it’s overbearing. As any usual couple would, they kiss, compliment one another, hug, and aren’t afraid to surprise each other with gifts and kind gestures.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Their friendship started at St. Ignatius after Ecco beat up some peers that were hurting Jeremiah. They didn’t know each other at this point, but coincidentally met again when Jeremiah decided to eat lunch in the library (where she was). Over time, they began to open up to one another and became very close. They hang out practically every day from the time they met to working in the bunker. Ecco only opens up and is her true self around Jeremiah, as when she is around other people she’s extremely guarded. Since the foundation of their relationship is their friendship, they are very caring towards one another and love to joke around. At the point they’re at, they can basically communicate without words.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

They do! Usually, Ecco lies her head on Jeremiah’s chest while he holds her close.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

I would say that their relationship is 95% domestic in itself. They are pretty much settled down at this point even though they work together. They love hanging out and playing board games during their down time. Ecco willingly cleans and cooks (she gets paid to do it) when she isn’t assigned to do anything in the moment, but if Jeremiah has the time he will join her. Ecco is a great chef whereas Jeremiah’s skills in that department are average.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

They wouldn’t. Jeremiah and Ecco know how careful they have to be in their relationship due to the fact that she works for him and they’re each other’s only friends. It would be disastrous for both of them if they split, so they are very cautious about not screwing anything up. The good thing is that their love runs deeply, so a breakup isn’t even a thought that they have about their future together.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

They are both very committed to one another. Heck, Ecco devoted her life to him! As for marriage, I’d say that whenever the time feels right for them. Maybe after a couple of years of dating and being together in a relationship they’d decide to tie the knot. I’d even argue that if it weren’t for the Insanity Gas, Jeremiah would’ve proposed to Ecco a month or two later than the events that ended up happening.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Both Jeremiah and Ecco are gentle physically and emotionally towards one another. They would never want to hurt one another in any way, shape or form. However, they do spar for a part of Jeremiah’s training.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

They do like to hug one another! I’d say they probably hug at least once a day, usually when Ecco arrives at the bunker or when she leaves. Or whenever they feel like it, lol. Their hugs are warm, very comfortable, and last longer than they should sometimes, lol. 😂

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Due to the fact that they’ve known each other since their days at St. Ignatius, their development of feelings towards one another has evolved naturally and over the course of some time. After first confessing their love to each other, they began dating secretly.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

When it comes to jealousy, Jeremiah has a harder time controlling it than Ecco does. When Ecco is jealous, she keeps a straight face and is judgmental in her head, whereas Jeremiah might narrow his eyes at the person in question and be more possessive of her (but not in a toxic way!!!). However, jealousy is rarely an issue because of the nature of their relationship.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Pretty basic answer here, but the both of them like being kissed on the lips or the cheek. However, there are some instances where they do kiss each other’s neck, buuuuuuut that’s none of my business. 😂 Usually, their kisses are warm and sweet, but there have been times when they were more passionate than usual.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Ecco is kind around children and treats them extra well due to the fact that her childhood was pretty much stripped away from her. Jeremiah doesn’t really come into contact with children due to his status in the bunker, but if he were to he’d be friendly and a little bit awkward.

M = Morning (How are their mornings spent?)

Their mornings vary, but most of the time Ecco comes from her apartment and begins work as soon as she arrives. Jeremiah works out after breakfast and showers afterwards. However, after nights that she sleeps over, they usually cook breakfast and get ready for the day together.

N = Night (How are their nights spent?)

If Ecco decides to sleep over, usually her and Jeremiah watch a movie or some TV before dozing off. However, if a moment becomes romantic, they occasionally do a different type of activity. 👀😂 They always eat dinner together and occasionally play a board game afterwards. Sometimes Jeremiah resumes his work if he’s preoccupied with an idea.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Over the course of their friendship/relationship, Jeremiah and Ecco have been revealing some details about themselves that are more sensitive. For example, after Jerome killed Lila Valeska, Jeremiah revealed his real name to Ecco. Ecco detailed her time at GRU to him during their senior prom at St. Ignatius. There are a lot more instances of this, but when they do open up they usually do tend to reveal everything at once.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

They are both generally patient individuals. Jeremiah is more easily angered than Ecco, but his temper during his Pre-Spray days is MUCH more controlled than after the Insanity Gas.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about each other? Do they remember every little detail mentioned in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Due to the fact that they’ve known each other so long and have a very tight knit bond, they do tend to remember a great deal of information about each other. Even if it’s a throw away detail that shouldn’t necessarily remembered, they both have instances where they have mentioned something small and surprised each other because of it.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in their relationship?)

I’d say the moment that Ecco stated that she wanted to devote her life to Jeremiah. The scene that I’ve headcanoned is much more detailed, but it’s very intimate in terms of interpersonal connection and how a stolen glance at something that shouldn’t have been seen plays out. (See Devotion in ‘Jeremiah and His Echo’ if you’re curious!)

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect each other? How would they like to be protected?)

Due to the fact that she’s his body guard, Ecco is very protective of Jeremiah in a physical and emotional sense. Jeremiah’s type of protection is different, as he sometimes underestimates Ecco’s skill level and isn’t always on board with her doing things that are on the riskier side, but after talking it out he eventually agrees with her.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Dates, anniversaries, and gifts are always done in a way that is sweet and sentimental towards each other. Jeremiah has a tendency to go big (but not too over the top) due to his large salary (for example, the headcanon Birthday Gift) whereas Ecco surprises Jeremiah with kind gestures and presents.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Jeremiah drinks alcohol more often than he should and talks to himself while working. If Ecco is in the office and hears this, she occasionally makes a joke at what he’s saying. Ecco on the other hand tends to fall asleep very easily. If she’s leaning on a desk, she can sometimes be prone to dozing off.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks? Do their looks bother each other?)

Jeremiah and Ecco both value their appearance and dress very neatly/professionally. They are not vain people until after the Insanity Gas, where this aspect is taken way out of proportion. Their looks don’t bother each other in the slightest.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without each other?)

10000000000000000000%. Not only in a professional way, but also in their relationship. They’re basically each other’s only friends, so they need each other to survive.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Once during their workout sessions, Ecco made Jeremiah try aerobics. He was embarrassed, causing her to laugh the whole time.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Jeremiah doesn’t like being late or behind schedule. Ecco isn’t a fan of non-direct answers during conversations and tends to get impatient if this is the case. She also does not like it if someone insults Jeremiah’s work.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs? Does it change around a partner?)

Their sleep habits are pretty normal and stay the same around each other.

So, happy eggs benedict day to those who watch dsmp. I’m sure you’ll have fun today! I know I will when you all read this chapter and freak out at the end! also gonna apologize for the formatting. I wasn’t sure how to replicate what I did while writing it, so I’m doing that instead.

“Hey Tommy?” Phil took the teen over to the side, wanting to speak with him. “Since Grian is still talking with his admin-”

“He’s my admin too. You saw that the other me was in their world.”

“Right, fine. While he’s talking to your admin, I’ve got a question.”

“Alright, shoot.”

“When you were talking with that other you… D-Did Kristen show up?”

“Mumza? Uh, no. Why d’ya ask?”

“Well, I guess you wouldn’t know. She wasn’t really around when you were growing up. But she’s sort of… a goddess of death.”

Tommy’s eyes widened. “She’s what?”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah, no. Mumza didn’t show up. You did. Or the other version of you. I guess you’re the death god there instead of her.”

“Right. Well, anything else happen, mate?”

“After the other you showed up, the other me got taken away by him and told me the thing to say to Xannes.”

“Alright. Thanks for telling me Tommy.”

“Theseus. Theeeeeeeseus. Theseus! Wake up!”

“Ugh… where am I?”

“Prison. Specifically Base Iridium.”

Theseus shook his head to wake himself up more. “Wait where the fuck am I?!”

“I just said you’re-”

“No what the fuck is this?!” Theseus shouted and tried moving around, only making the sound of chains jingling.

“Ohhhh, enchanted bedrock casket to make sure you can’t move. But hey, At least we get face holes. Aaaand you’re hyperventilating.”

“How do I get out?! Let me out!”

“If I knew how to get out, I would have aaaaaages ago and gone to see Sense!”

“W-Wait, S-Sense like the e-evil r-redstone guy?”

“Yes! With a wonderful mustache and sexy suit of his~”

“Oh eww gross. You’re just as bad as him.” Theseus cringed.

“How’s he doing?”

“Half starved to death and had his vocal cords ripped out.”

“He. What.”

“The new emperor of Helscraft or whatever did it. Kicked him off the throne and trapped him in whatever was there instead of the nether.”

“No! Now I need to get out!” Chain rattling filled the air.

“Uh hey, what’s your name by the way?”

There was a pause from the rattling. “Oh you heard I changed it? It’s Grifter now.”

“Uh, didn’t know you started with anything else.”

“Hiii Puffy! I’m baaack! Did you an’ Grum talk about stuff?” Jrum walked into Puffy’s home holding a lot of quartz in his arms. He knew he could just put it in his inventory, but this was more fun.

“Yes we did, though… well it was a little rough for him, so he’s... out building a place for you to stay near your charger until you can get home, alright?”

Jrum nodded, accepting the answer without question before setting his haul down on a table and picking up a piece quartz to chew on. “I made a new friend! His name is Michael!”

“Oh, that sounds nice.”

“Yeah! And then I went exploring and I found a big cave!”

“In the nether?” Puffy asked, only half paying attention right now while hoping Jrum would get distracted talking. She knew the bot’s brother wasn’t really out building after his panic attack, but duckling Dream had been kind and offered to help the child.

“It looked kinda like it, but no. It kinda looked like something Uncle Scar would make. It was pretty. He once built a humongous drill to get to the nether. A-And then some of the nether started climbing out, but the hole was waaaaay too big so it didn’t have any chance!”

“That sounds creative.”

“Yeah! He also made a magic village with a big magic crystal, and apparently it helps connect to the hels dimension, so I made a friend there!”

“What’s that?” Puffy asked with a tilt of her head.

“Oh, the hels dimension is a place parallel to this dimension, but it’s not like another dimension like the overworld and the nether are different dimensions to themselves, hels is like… us, but through a mirror! A funhouse mirror! Like my daddy is really good at redstone like me, and he can get frazzled at times, but he’s really nice. But then there’s the hels version of him who’s like a big mean evil scientist!”

“Oh really. And I suppose you made friends with your hels version?” Puffy asked with a small smile, but Jrum frowned and found his antenna to tug on, squeezing the little blue ball at the end.

“Uh, no. Grum and I were built by our dads, but in hels, they got separated and so they couldn’t build us. So… we don’t have our own hels versions.”

Puffy frowned sadly. “Do you want to talk about that?

“Yeah. I’ve tried telling my dads, but they just sort of reassure me without really listening.”

Puffy got a chair set up for Jrum, ready for an impromptu therapy session which she hoped wouldn’t end as bad as the last one. “Now, what’s bothering you most?”

“Well, the fact that we don’t have our other versions kinda hurts because it sort of makes me feel like we’re less real. I know my dads say that we’re of course real, but it doesn’t hurt less because they just sort of say it and not give reasons. In fact, they sort of give us less reasons because they were really protective about us respawning since they didn’t know how that would work. I mean, I guess they had a reason to worry since Grum and me are here now, but the fact they couldn’t trust us with that kinda hurts.

“And then we need to be charged up as well as eat, but we don’t need to worry about phantoms. I guess it’s a trade off, but no one else has to deal with that! It feels weird! From what Xisuma said, he needed to mess with some files to get us read properly by all his admin stuff, and he didn’t need to do that for others sort of like us, so why are we different?!”

Puffy hugged Jrum to comfort the now crying robot. The small whispers of reassurance helped a little, telling him he really was a person and that he would be safe. Jrum was glad for them he didn’t like the mess he was in, and the fact that it came from not really being a person made it sting even worse. So he was very happy to find someone who would listen and understand.

System hard drive crash. Attempting recovery. Recovering… Recovering… 92% of data recovered. Rebooting… Rebooting… Essential data missing. Please insert external drive for troubleshooting.

Grumbot sat up with a start. He was pretty sure if he wasn’t a robot, he’d be breathing heavily. He put a hand to his head before looking around. It looked like he had been put in a room with a bed, but he didn’t recognize it, and no one else was there.

Grum tried to remember what happened. Had he run out of battery? Or had he gotten damaged. No, he had been trying to [: )] and it didn’t work out. He had also been with Puffy, so perhaps this was another room in her house. It wasn’t one he had seen before, but he also hadn’t really gone exploring.

Getting up from the bed and stretching, Grum decided to do just a little bit of looking around the room to make sure this really was Puffy’s place. He didn’t want to end up in someone else’s place and get in trouble. Though perhaps it was a similar situation to [: )] when they showed up on [: )].

That was another thing he almost forgot. Jrum. Was he okay? He didn’t know how long they had been separated and if it were long enough, he could have gotten in trouble. He had always taken after their [: )] and if the people here weren’t the happiest about stuff like that, it might not end well.

Well, as he looked around, the place seemed safe, and after carefully breaking a piece of the wall before putting it back, he was still at Puffy’s home. He attempted to contact Jrum, but it seemed that function wasn’t working. Possibly because they were no longer in [: )] and it was something there that allowed a direct connection between the two of them.

Grum’s eyes landed on a piece of paper he hadn’t noticed before. It seemed to be a note of sorts, so he read it. It seemed to be from the admin. He wrote how Puffy said Grum passed out and she went to check on Jrum to make sure the same didn’t happen to him. That if he would like, the admin could check him over and make sure everything was fine and there were no programming issues.

The robot rolled his eyes. He wouldn’t have any issues. [: )] and [: )] had built him just fine, Plus Jrum had gotten the two of them updates from [: )] so they were even better. There was no reason to see the admin, especially because…

Because…

Because why? This person was the admin, so he would just be making sure the server ran as smoothly as possible. He likely was just worried. That was all. What admin wouldn’t? And they hadn’t done anything to make Grum think otherwise. If they did, then maybe he would need to be wary. But so far, nothing.

Puffy suggested they get a treat for Jrumbot to help him cheer up and Jrum wiped away his virtual tears before following her. As they left, neither of them noticed the small red plant wrapping around the antenna and connecting to the now red ball on the end of it.

“Ah ha. Nice joke Theseu- wait a second.” There was silence. “You’re not my brother.”
