i walk the line.
You had joked with Ghost before about getting married, never with a tone serious enough for it to be taken into account, even if it was something you dreamed about whenever you were alone with your thoughts. What you hadn’t expected was the question to come up at such an inopportune time.
Pairing: Simon "Ghost" Riley x Sergeant Reader
rbs greatly appreciated!
WC: 2.1 K
a/n: i hate giving my fics titles so just assume the song in the title is the vibe i want the fic to have lmao. also this is unedited and not beta read so beware of typos and shit
warnings: estabilished relationship, profanity, whump, description of wound, mentions of death, badly timed marriage proposal, medical inaccuracies, fluff, happy ending
It’s cold.
No, scratch that. It’s fucking freezing.
God, you hate the cold. Considering how much you despise it, it amuses you to think you might have been a desert creature in another life. A lizard, maybe. The types to scurry really fast and eat small insects all day. What a life.
You’re lost in your musings but you think there are a few very faint voices calling for you. Where are they coming from? Above? Seems like it. First, you hear their voices getting clearer, and recognize a word. It’s your codename, meaning, it’s your teammates voices. But why do they sound so agitated? Next, you feel pain. Quickly rising, scorching hot pain in your abdomen.
Oh, that’s right. You were shot.
A scream echoes out wherever you are and only later you’d recognize it as your own, in the same moment you recognize Ghost’s own booming voice frantically calling out for you, and the heavy weight of Soap’s large hands holding you down so you wouldn’t trash as much. It had been ironic, really, how much the mission went smoothly, 99% of it being completed without a hitch, but right as you were about to celebrate success, some fucker neither of you had seen before had decided to put a bullet in you - any of you - blindly, and it so happened it would hit you. The offender was long gone, a throw knife lodged in his skull as quick as a blink of an eye in the split second after the gunshot was heard, but the damage was already done. A few seconds before it happened, you had groaned how much you couldn’t wait for evac to come so you could take a hot shower and sleep, since your bones were aching, and Gaz had laughed and called you old-spirited. So much for that shower, you think as you take in the surroundings of what you could see of the abandoned safe house from your position on the blood stained table. It was painful to think about if that same table was used in the past for a family reunion or to gather folks around for good news, before hell broke loose and war tore apart the people, so you didn’t think about it. Ghost called your codename again and you cast your eyes downwards to look at him, the fear in his eyes sending a chill down your spine.
“Hey! Talk to me, don’t you dare close your eyes!”
You had screamed as he was removing the projectile from your flesh, you realized. Was not your first rodeo, a thought that made you want to laugh bitterly, but just the idea of laughing made you wince in pain. His hands were currently trying to stop the bleeding, and after taking one look at the wound, you suddenly felt at peace.
It was pretty shitty you were going to die in an equally shitty safehouse, but that’s the life you chose. So, against your better judgment, you chuckle lowly and decide to follow your superior’s orders.
“Keep talking, eh? Alright.” You groaned once more when he applied more pressure to your gaping wound. “L.t, do you- do you remember when i told you…I wanted to retire early and - fuck - get to the countryside and get a big ass dog?”
He looked up at you briefly, glad you were talking but clearly wondering where you were going with this. You knew he hated when you spoke of the future as if you were going to die - which, right now, you were pretty sure it was really happening this time - but you couldn’t help yourself. Of course he remembers that conversation, it was in the beginning of your secret-not-so-secret relationship. You had asked him what he would do if he wasn’t a soldier, and he had given you a very cryptic and vague answer that resembled a lot like nothing. In turn, you told him your wishes half heartedly, as if thinking of living for 10 more years was a very distant dream.
The relationship between the 141’s Lieutenant and one of its Sargeants was a sort of urban legend going around. People knew it was happening, but didn’t dare speak of it, and no one had ever really seen any proof of it, so, it was best to avoid prying into Ghost’s private matters as to not risk being at the receiving end of his annoyance, and, in turn, you both found solace in having something that only the two of you knew about. It never hindered your professionalism and it had been going on for a few good years now, so it became somewhat naturalized between the folks coexisting in the same space as you and Simon after a while. However, that never stopped the natural curiosity to flourish in a few people - namely, your comrades, who always knew there was something going on given the fact you’d literally look at your superior with hearts in your eyes - so you had to ignore Gaz and Soap’s expectant eyes on you as you spoke so tenderly, the intensity of witnessing the start of what seemed like a very intimate talk momentarily sharing space with the worry they were feeling over you.
“...Yes. I remember.”
He never forgets the things you say, even if you think it’s not important at the time. You hummed, ignoring the pain that came with it.
“Big dogs were never really my thing. I just-” A cough ripped out of you, and you didn’t need to look to know there was blood in it. “ I just thought it was the kind of thing you’d want. Big dogs fit you. It felt less scary to think about retiring once I added you in the equation.”
You were slurring your words and you knew it. As you regained your breath, you briefly saw a very wide-eyed and angry looking Price curse into his comm asking where the fuck was the goddamn chopper. Your codename being barked alongside the word “WIA” to a poor fellow soldier on the other side of the line left you with a bad taste in your mouth. You hate how scared Ghost looked, your big, scary, stoic Ghost, and you can’t help but feel selfish for leaving him, even if being shot was not your fault and wasn’t really in your plans when you left the base that morning.
“Stop talking like you’re fucking d-”
“We could have done it, you know?” Your laugh is, once again, bitter, and you’re acutely aware of the tears streaming down your face. Death has never scared you, but now that you got a reason to stay, you’re terrified. “Could’ve gotten hitched somewhere nice. Can’t really imagine you in a suit, though.”
The pain doesn’t stop, but it gets duller as you feel your consciousness slipping away, and you never fought so much to stay awake in your entire life. Simon yells something to Soap among the lines of getting something from somewhere so he can continue trying to save you, but you don’t register his words. His tone softens once his eyes are back on you.
“I’d wear a suit if you asked me to, sweetheart.”
“I know. I wouldn’t ask, though.”
Not caring there are other people in the room, you smile at him, well aware it must be uncanny to see Ghost be so tender towards another person, but again, you were the lucky one who got to see it every time it was just the two of you, so you got used to it with time.
Your vision starts spinning more and more, and your eyes start to close the moment you hear the familiar, faint sound of a helicopter getting closer, Simon’s big hands suddenly on your face to try to keep you grounded, and he sounds even more exasperated than before. He calls your name - not your codename, for once.
“Stay alive, do you hear me?! You gotta stay the fuck alive so i can take you to the bloody countryside and get bloody hitched-”
“You askin’ me to marry ya’ in my deathbed, sir?” You manage to slur out, your smile growing despite the panic you don’t have the energy to express settling in your bones, and Simon’s eyes widen even more behind the mask.
“Yes, I am, so stay with me, that’s a fucking order-”
You chuckle, closing your eyes as the frantic sounds around you all blur into a garbled mess. Faintly you feel your body being moved around, a strong wind on your blood and dirt caked hair, hear some more shouting, but then,
Silence.
——————————
Feels like the thousandth time you have woken up, and the feeling of coming in and out of consciousness is unbearable at best.
The first time - or the second, you don’t remember - there was a strong light above you, but you had no energy to open your eyes, so it lasted a measly second before you were out again. Later, you heard an unfamiliar voice saying something about an induced coma for a few days for a better recovery. You wondered if they were talking about you (they probably were). This happens a few more times before you actually feel your consciousness coming back for good, and, before you open your eyes, the first thing you notice is how warm it is, and, if you could, you’d smile. The spring air smells good, and you think you catch a whiff of cleaning products while you inhale, suddenly aware of how empty your lungs felt. The third thing you notice is the weight on your hand, and once you open your eyes, you find a familiar set of skeleton gloved hands on top of your own. A few years back you had told him with a laugh the print was very 2000’s, and he had just brushed you off with a scowl, but you’ve never been so glad to see the tacky thing. His thumb caresses your skin as he patiently waits for you to become more aware of your surroundings, and you instantly smile when you finally meet his gaze, which looks extremely relieved.
“Hi.” Your throat feels parched, voice straining as if you’d swallowed a kilo of sand, but Simon thinks your voice never sounded so sweet to his ears.
“Hi.”
It hurts to move, but you do so anyway, slowly sitting up despite Simon’s protests just so you can see him more clearly and grasp his hand a little better. While you are busy cringing at the dull pain in your stomach from the stitches, he extends a glass of water for you, to which you grab and gulp down immediately, quenching your thirst and looking over at your partner with such gratitude an onlooker would have thought he was a literal godsend.
“How bad is it?” Your voice still felt rough from disuse, but at least it sounded a bit more familiar to your ears.
“Pretty bad.” He doesn’t bother you with details; he knows you were never a fan of hearing about your wounds descriptively. “But you’ve always been tough.”
You flash him a grin that has him silently flabbergasted both with how beautiful you are and how quickly you seem to bounce back from a near fatal injury. Suddenly, you remember your last words before you blacked out, and your smile turns shy as you cast your gaze down to where your hands meet.
“...Did you mean it?”
Simon has always been extremely observant and smart, he knows what you are talking about immediately, and you like to think he is smiling under the mask as he goes back to gingerly caressing the top of your smaller hand with his thumb.
“I did, sweetheart.” His voice is low, and every time he calls you a pet name it has your heart doing somersaults. “I’m sorry I don't have a ring yet and I don't know when we would have some time off to have a ceremony, but I want to marry ya’. If you’ll have me, that is.”
Feeling like your smile would grow so big it would rip your face, you beamed at him, acutely aware of how you must have been looking like a mess with a - hospital - bed head and tired eyes, but you’d hoped he could notice the hearts in your eyes as obviously as you felt them. Things always seemed to fall in place with Ghost; no need for extravagance or huge acts, and the fact that your marriage proposal was exactly that, made you fall even more in love with him. You watched lovingly as he raised your hand to press a mask covered kiss on the top of it, and shook your head, laughing gently.
“Of course i’ll marry you, Simon.”

It was by common knowledge that you and Tomioka have been together for some time already. Things weren't moving too slow nor too fast which was a steady and suitable pace for the both of you. Truly, you didn't want to rush Giyu for you knew he was a very distant and busy person in general; not to mention the fact that he wasn't even used to this type of treatment from the early stages of his life. But it is true, you loved him with all of your being.
He was sent on a mission for a few days. As much as it hurt you deeply to watch the love of your life leave you and possibly not return was heart-wrenching, however, Tomioka was a fighter, he was stronger than most, you knew he would return safe and sound. You didn't cry, you were the polar opposite. Instead of having the icy hands of fear consuming your every move, you chose to look at it in a positive aspect of it. (Name) knew her partner more than she knew herself, after all, he was hers and she was his, she loved him and she swore it to be true.
Days upon days she awaited his arrival, waiting ever so patiently and rather enthusiastically for her partner's return. Waves of pure excitement flooded her innocent mind as she waited and pined for him to come back to her once more. His breath-taking face was solely engrained in her mind for it was him all she thought about during this time. Elation was practically flowing through her veins as she waited like a good little puppy dog for it's owner; how sweet was she?
Then the day came, he returned back to his beloved (Name).
"Giyu! Giyu!" exclaimed a teary-eyed (Name) as she darted across their shared estate to hug her beloved who looked like he hadn't attained at least one single scratch. Capturing him within her warm, tight and of course comforting embrace, Tomioka relaxed his once tense shoulders and a soft sigh of relief escaped from underneath his pale lips. With little to no expression plastered along his face, he hugged his beautiful beloved (Name) back tightly, almost too tight.
Nuzzling his face into (Name's) shoulder a bit, he kept it there and snuggled up to her a tad bit further than before, cherishing this short moment sincerely. "I missed you, dear," Tomioka uttered as he wished he could stay in your loving embrace for all eternity. It made him develop a sense of comfort.
Peace. Love. For him to finally be at ease.
You watched how Giyu was clearly stressed from his duties, it was evident just by his expressions alone and by his touch; he was stiff and tense. A sudden idea popped into your mind which was straying away from all innocence at this point in time.
Soft glistens of mischief were seen captured within your eyes as you brought one of your hands closer to his face, cupping his soft cheek gently before leaning in to whisper, "Mmm- Darling, you know, I could help you relax, I can tell you're pretty tense. Would having some 'fun' change that?" you coaxed teasingly into his ear, playfulness lacing your voice as you nibbled on his earlobe slightly. You were taking a risk, you surely didn't know if he wasn't ready or not, but you took a shot at it.
His azure-blue eyes widened just at how bold your words were and was taken aback by it all. After all, you two haven't done anything since getting together, but there's a first time for everything. An uneasy silence loomed through the air aimlessly before he spoke up quietly, "I could use a snack about now," as if he completely ignored your words.
Confused and a bit embarrassed, you questioned him, "What do you mean? Like some Mochi?" in an attempt to cover up all trace of your shame. Amused, he replied back to your comment, "No, how about I show you what I mean, darling." He removed his face from the crook of your neck and got himself out of your embrace. You raised an eyebrow, curious about what he is implying but before you even think, he has picked you up bridal style, being very careful with you. As if you were a piece of fragile glass or porcelain.
He carried you to your shared bedroom in the estate, plopping your body carefully onto the once-lonely bed after closing the door behind you two, with a simple swift nudge of it. He licks his lips a bit; leaning down close to your ear, he speaks softly almost like a whisper, "You said let's have some 'fun', I'll show you my definition of 'fun'." At this point in time, a cherry-red blush has now crept itself onto your cheeks, tinting them with the rosy colour just from his words meeting your ears. Causing you to melt inside almost instantly.
Gradually, he leaned down and placed his soft, tender touch on to your waistline, running his fingertips playfully around the delicate fabric of the bow of your yukata ever so gently, before untying the fabric. Allowing him to peel away the other parts of fabric hiding your wonderful figure. Now, Tomioka was certainly not expecting this, his eyes widened and his own red blush tinted his face deeply, the colour was very much visible. As he trailed his eyes along your dazzling physique.
Soaking up every inch of your body with just a few looks. However, he did wish for those pesky undergarments of yours to not be in the way of this. They simply had no use for what he had planned.
"Now, let me get my snack," he spoke up coldly, hints of playfulness still looming through his words. He took his hands and slowly stripped away your underwear, letting it rest neatly on the floor beneath you both. Now, your bare cunt was exposed for him to see, and it was his sight alone. How exciting was that for him? Carefully, he leaned down and took off his haori, letting it fall to the floor to accompany your items of clothing.
Giyu placed a firm hand on your inner thighs, stroking them ever so slowly, light yet lingering touches remaining there as he leaned in. Glancing up towards your angelic face; his gaze softens as he looks at you for confirmation. You nod, you wanted this, after all, you needed to feel him. Know what it's like to be one with him. To please him. To know how it feels to have your first time with the love of your life.
He nods his head back in response to you, his baby blues skimming long your red cheeks, a slight grin cracking on his face as he does so. Shifting his attention back down, he takes in the sight of your raw pussy wholly. Knowing that it is for sure his. He couldn't be happier. As his face eventually met your entrance, oh boy, he was on cloud nine.
Taking his middle and index finger, and slowly rubbed your clit teasingly, watching as your slimy, runny pre-cum gathered and clustered on his fingers as he does so, practically making you wet and tremble from under his very touch. Licking his fingers proudly of every singular ounce of your rich, sweet, gooey pre-cum, he looked down at your lewd face and exposed body. "Now that's a tasty snack, I would like more though," he said, how greedy to say the least.
Without uttering another word, he placed his hands gently on your plush thighs and held your legs up slowly yet tenderly, taking his time to gaze upon your beautiful figure sprawled out messily beneath him, he leaned down. Tomioka licked his lips once more, saliva thinly covering his lips. In doing that, he brought you to heaven on earth. His moist, hungry tongue worked magic and created miracles as it worked every individual spot in your tight, narrow entrance. Even managing to force itself within the slimy walls of your cunt at times. You being a completely drenched, gooey mess made it easier for him to slip in and toy with.
Sucking a bit and trailing his tongue along your sensitive area repeatedly. Rapidly. Eagerly. There was just too much overwhelmingly sweet goodness stored within you; how could he resist? His tongue was ecstatic with your flavor, it was nearly sickening that you could taste so delightful - better than any fruit, beverage, or candy. A one-of-a-kind taste he had all to himself.
He cherished this flavor and this wasn't even the best part, his mind was absolutely racing with the thought of you releasing your warm juices in his mouth. He only imagined how that by itself could taste. It was as if he could imagine it dancing happily on his tastebuds; with a refreshing flavor that he could never grow weary of.
Giyu's mind was completely far from innocence now but he couldn't help it. His tongue began growing more impatient by the passing moment; his slimy friend briskly moved along your flaps and overlapped them. Sweet, soft cries of pleasure and pleased, quiet hums emanated from underneath your filthy lips, heavy, sharp breaths soon to follow after.
That's what he wanted, those adorable sounds to come from you. He craved hearing those sounds like an utter animal, however, he wasn't yet done with you. As he knows, self-control and patience are key, and why not have some fun while doing it?
Tomioka gradually removed his face from your gooey hole, even if it hurt him to get away from that flavor for only a moment. He looked at your naked body in awe while a small smile unnoticeably crept along his face. "This is such a sweet treat, never knew it was cherry-flavored," he said under his breath.
You were confused, 'Cherry?' you thought yet you remained quiet. That same blush never dying on your face, that explained it.
He gripped your thighs further, only earning a whine from you as he nudged his face back in, this time going for your thighs. Starting with which was once small kitten licks turned into ravenous sucking and nibbling of your plush flesh. You weren't complaining, it felt absolutely amazing, as he nibbled and took in the inviting taste of you. He nearly got more occupied with his current task.
At least, he decorated your legs nicely with various dark hickeys and love bites. Several small bruises make their appearance on your figure as well.
He grinned broadly, satisfied with his work before getting back to work with your gooey hole. His greedy little tongue had its way with your folds, lapping and rubbing itself within every crevice it could muster. Wanting for your taste so, so badly. You just had to give it to him. So why not help? You took your left hand and applied pressure to the top of his raven black locks, allowing for his tongue to go deeper within your pussy from this bold action.
He liked this.
He continued with what he was doing, his slimy tongue buried deep within your warm insides was like heaven. As you gripped the delicate sheets beneath both of you, you bucked your hips upwards. The fabric you were holding onto helped you do so as you repeated this process - your hand still firmly gripping his hair. Letting him truly have a good taste of what you really are.
The lewd yet melodic, pleasureful moans and cries flowed into Giyu's ears. Sounds of satisfaction and contentment. And he caused all of this. He alone made you this moaning mess that couldn've barely contained yourself. Truly, he was proud.
For what felt like very few minutes, it was an utter pleasure. Time truly goes by when you're caught up in such fun. You finally came within him, and the substance was even better than he imagined. It flowed along his tongue ever so nicely as he had himself a field day drinking away every single drop until there was nothing left but his saliva thinly coating your entire clit.
As he was busy with that you were attempting to catch your breath. Getting even the slightest bit of air within you was crucial. You can't help but not recall what just happened. You took away your hand from his head and loosened your grip on the sheets as he licked away the last drop and looked proudly at his work.
That was the end, right? But did you know he was suppressing his needs all this time? Maybe you two should switch roles.

Hello may i req a neuvillette x reader! Fluff please :)) love your writing style btw!!🫶🏻
OF COURSE !! 🩵
Neuvillette barely has time to talk to you, but you always leave a couple of heart shaped chocolate and a bouquet of flowers in his office. He always puts them somewhere safe. And if he has the time, he will buy a couple of gifts for you and tell one of the melusines to bring them to your house.
Knock, knock..
You open the door and look down to see a melusine struggling to hold all the gifts in her hand.
”Hello there! These gifts are- ah!“ The Melusine couldn‘t finish her sentence before all the gifts almost fall on the ground, but you quickly catch a couple of them, putting them all to the side inside your house.
The Melusine lets out a cough. ”Ah..ahem, thank you! Anyways, the gifts are from monsieur neuvillette. He wants to see you in his office tomorrow at 8 PM sharp!“ she said with a confident voice, helping you to put the other gifts inside your house.
”Ah..i..thank you. I‘ll make sure to be there.“ you smile back at the Melusine who waves you a goodbye before she starts walking away to do her job. The chief justice wants to see you in his office? Did you do something wrong or did he just want to spend time with you?
You smile at the thoughts before opening a couple of the gifts he sent you. You see: a necklace, a couple of dresses, heart shaped chocolate and much more..
Red appears on your cheeks as you look all at the luxurious and expensive items. Why did he send you so much? You put all the items on the desk in your bedroom before you change into your night glown and fall asleep for tomorrow.
Next day, you wake up early. You wanted to buy a couple of gifts to give Neuvillette once you arrive at his office later, so you put on the new dress he had gifted you, the new necklace and then take one of the heart shaped chocolates into your mouth. They taste delicious!
Outside is already bright enough. The sun is shining and its a perfect day to go shopping. You walk towards the plush shop to look for a big one that you think Neuvillette would like. There are Furina, sea otters, teddy bears, dogs, cats, etc. But you saw one that got your attention: a big Melusine plush. Perfect!
You take the melusine plush and one of the sea otter ones to the cashier, where you pay for all of them before putting them in a bag. Since it isnt 8 PM yet, you decided to walk around Fontaine.
Hours and hours later, it reaches 7:50 PM. 10 minutes before the meeting. You smile at the thoughts of meeting him.
A couple of minutes and walking later, you arrive at the Palais Mermonia, where his office is. A melusine stops you from going in.
”Halt! Oh..wait, it‘s you! I did not recognize you for a second, I am terribly sorry. You‘re monsieur Neuvillette’s friend, right? Then please, go right in. The Iudex has been waiting for your appearance.“
A small chuckle almost escaped your mouth, but you nod with a smile before knocking on the office door. You wait, before hearing a muffled voice.
”Please come in.“
With the gifts in your hand, you open the door happily and drop the bags in your hand, running up to him and giving Neuvillette a big hug.
”Neuvi, I missed you!“ Ah, yes, Neuvi. The nickname you had given him a long time ago, and he still does not mind it.
“..Mm. I certainly did too.“ He cracks a slight smile at the dress you put on and wraps his arms around you, hugging you back. He is pretty warm and comfortable, you can just stay and sleep in his arms for hours.
As you both let go of each other, you take the bags you dropped and put them all on his office table. “Open! I think you would like it.“ You giggle as he looks inside the bag and takes both of the plushes out. You notice that the tip of his pointed ears became red..is he blushing?
“..Ahem..I definitely did, thank you. I will make sure that they will stay safe in my room.“
He answers with a deep voice, looking at the sea otter and Melusine plushes with a smile that you can‘t see. You walk to the side next to him, only to see him blushing. ”Huh? Neuvi, are you blushing?“
Your voice got him out of his thoughts of you, his blush disappears quickly. ”Oh, was I? I am sorry, it is just a expression of happiness.
You smile at his silliness and stand on your tip toes to get close to his face, giving the Iudex a quick kiss on his cheek. His eyes widen from the sudden touch and he gets slightly flustered again, like before.
Silence fills the room as you both look at each other.
While quiet, he slowly walks towards you, and you stand a little back. But Neuvillette gently pins you to the wall behind you and looks right into your eyes. His hand creeps up to your cheek to caress it, and your lips form into a sweet smile. ”Does our Chief Justice have a little crush on someone?“ you smirk, teasing the man a little.
”…! Ahem, no— I am simply just showing affection to a friend.” He closes his eyes, his flush still noticeable. Caressing his horns to tease him more, he lets out a small noise before pulling your hands away from his blue horns. He clearly does not like that very much, but does not mind.
“Hah, don‘t worry. I love you too, you know?“
The answer leaves him in shock, but happiness. He takes your face onto his hands and you stand on your tip toes so your faces are close to each other. ”..May I..kiss you, my lov— ahem, dear friend?“
“Yes, you may. My lovely Iudex. Also, you may call me love now.“
”..Of course, my love.“

me, you, our kid and a dog
the dog fic is finally here! fluff, getting together, first kiss, reluctant dog dad Eddie, all three of them being adorable lol ❤
words: 4.7k
[read on Ao3]
“You’re getting a dog?” Hen asks, piecing together the few sentences she’s heard. “As in… together? “Yeah.” Buck grins, opening his own locker as well “We’re not getting a dog. “But Eddie!” Buck almost whines, and, god, Eddie would give him anything he asked for, but he’s also stubborn, and he decided something already, he can’t just go back. Besides, does he really want to be stuck taking care of a pet on a rare occasion Buck’s at his loft? “Uh, you don’t even live together.” Hen notices, confused, a frown on her face. “Or have we missed something?” she and Chim exchange a look that Eddie doesn’t wanna look into. He’s already pretty sure he’s wearing his heart on his sleeve, and everyone knows how he feels, he doesn’t need confirmation. “No, but it just makes sense.”
______
It starts as a random remark on a sunny Sunday afternoon when the three of them are at the park. They’re just taking a walk, with the goal of getting ice-cream from the best ice-cream place in the city, according to both Buck and Chris – which is just an ice-cream stand in the middle of the park.
There’s a lot of people around, strolling and talking just like them, or having picnics, or walking their dogs… and that last thing is what starts a conversation.
Because a big dog runs up to Buck – Eddie’s not even surprised at how every single breathing creature, human or otherwise, is just enamored with Buck, he’s used to it – and he stops to pet it with the brightest smile. Meanwhile, the owner, a young girl probably in her early twenties, catches up and apologizes profusely, saying that the dog tugged the leash out of her hand, and assures that it’s friendly and it’s safe to pet her – which is what Buck’s already doing, anyway.
“Hey, pretty.” he coos, crouching down, both hands petting the dog’s head, while it pants happily, tongue out.
“Can I pet her, too?” Christopher asks, giving Eddie the most adorable pleading expression, and Eddie just can’t say no.
“Of course. Just be careful.” Eddie says and watches as Chris walks closer to Buck, who holds one of his crutches to prevent it from falling, when Christopher hurries to pet the dog with the brightest smile. This close, the dog is almost at his height, and Eddie gets a little anxious, but doesn’t let his overprotectiveness take over. Buck’s right there, there’s nothing to worry about.
“She’s so soft.” Chris comments, and the dog licks his face, making him giggle.
They stand there for a long minute, before Eddie apologizes to the girl for keeping her there, and she laughs and says it’s okay. Chris tells the dog it was nice to meet her, and gazes after her wistfully, when the girl finally walks away.
“You really shouldn’t pet strangers’ dogs.” Eddie mutters to Buck once the girl is out of earshot.
“She said it’s fine.” Buck whispers back.
“Not before you already pet it.” Eddie gives him a look. “Just saying, you should be more careful.”
“Next time I will.” he rolls his eyes, as they start walking towards the ice-cream stand again, conversation picking up where they left off.
“I wish we had a dog.” Christopher says suddenly, interrupting Buck mid-sentence, and it surprises Eddie a bit. He’s never mentioned it before, and Eddie’s never thought about a pet, and he doesn’t know how to discourage him from that, or how to say no without breaking his son’s heart. Because there’s no way they’re getting a dog.
“Man, I always wanted a dog growing up.” Buck says wistfully, and, well, now Eddie’s screwed. “My parents never agreed, though.”
“We should get a dog together.” Christopher says, looking at Buck with a wide smile, and Eddie has to step in before they start planning and saying no will become even more heartbreaking.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Dad! Why?” Chris pouts and stops to look at Eddie with those eyes that make any ‘no’ almost impossible to pass his lips.
“Yeah, dad, why?” Buck joins in, and his pout is almost equally irresistible. Eddie is not in the strongest position here. If he wasn’t absolutely convinced of his decision already, he’d fold immediately. And he feels like if they keep talking about this, they might just change his mind. He won’t have this.
“I promise I’ll walk him and feed him, and Buck will help!” Chris says, now stopping and turning towards Eddie.
“Eddie, come on.” Buck shoves his arm lightly.
“You guys are serious? You actually want a dog?” Eddie looks between them, and they nod, matching pouts on their faces. Shit, he’s not gonna fall for it. “No.”
“But-”
“No.” he repeats firmly, his heart breaking a little at his son’s defeated expression. “We all know that you will take care of it for a minute, and then it’ll fall on me, at least when Buck’s not home.” he adds quietly, not missing how he accidentally made it sound like Buck’s living with them, realizing that he’d love that more than anything, but choosing to ignore this for now, because he doesn’t have time for an am-I-in-love-with-my-best-friend freak out again (they happen more frequently than he’d like to admit lately, and he thinks he has the answer already anyway). “Or probably on Carla when we’re at work.” he continues. “And she’s not getting paid to take care of a dog.”
“There’s dog sitters.” Buck murmurs, and Eddie shoots him a look. They’re not made of money, for god’s sake. But then he sees tears in Chris’ eyes, and almost relents. Almost.
“Listen, it’s a no for right now, alright? But let’s revisit this conversation when you’re a little older?” Eddie asks, and Chris immediately lights up.
“How old?” he asks, and Eddie shares a look with Buck. Then, he looks back at his ten-year-old, and answers:
“Thirteen.” because it seems like a reasonable age where he’ll be able to actually take care of a pet, and also, a lot can happen in three years, maybe he’d want a different, more low-maintenance pet. Eddie could do a goldfish, for example.
“Fine.” Christopher relents, and looks at Buck. “We can wait three years.”
“Yeah.” Buck responds, a soft and surprised smile on his face. Like he still doesn’t believe they want him in their lives permanently, and he’s not expecting them to make such long-term plans involving him. “We sure can.”
“Just, we’re clear that we’ll have the conversation then, right? Not that we’re actually getting a dog?” Eddie adds, not wanting them to get too excited. He knows Buck could just get a dog on his own, it’s not like he lives with them (sadly), though as far as Eddie remembers, pets aren’t allowed in his building. But even if he could, Eddie’s pretty sure they’d still make this decision together. He doesn’t know exactly when it happened, but their lives became so intertwined it should be scary. It’s not, though. Buck is his partner, at and outside of work. In almost all the ways Eddie wants him to be.
“Sure.” Buck says dismissively, with a chuckle, like he knows they already won. Eddie really doesn’t like when they team up against him, because that’s usually how it ends, with them winning. They’re his two biggest weaknesses, they have an advantage separately, and together? Eddie’s surprised he managed to say no right now.
Then they continue their walk, Chris a little bit in front of them, starting a new topic, now wondering what ice-cream flavor he should get, while Buck throws his arm around Eddie’s shoulder, and Eddie feels like his whole body is burning. To anyone else they must look like a family, a couple and their kid. Eddie hates how comfortable he is with that, and how much he’d actually want that to be true. Maybe he’s coming to terms with his feelings for Buck, because now, thinking about wanting to hold his hand and kiss him, and spend the rest of their lives arguing about getting a dog while living together – it doesn’t make him freak out or panic. He feels settled. He’s smiling, and he’s content, and he wants countless more afternoons like this with his boys.
But for now, the dog conversation is over, for at least three years.
Or so Eddie thinks. And, boy, is he wrong.
Because from then on, the topic of dogs and pets is being brought up constantly over the next couple of weeks.
Mostly small mentions, Buck and Christopher talking about the kind of dog they want – a breed wasn’t specified yet, but definitely a big one, which prompts Eddie to wonder how Chris wants to walk it without the dog pulling on the leash and tripping him. Not that there’s gonna be any dog, that’s not happening.
And then, after a few days, the conversation extends to outside of home, when Buck drives them to work – because he stayed over, like he does pretty frequently, sharing the bed with Eddie because he’s not gonna sleep on the couch – they’re best friends, it’s normal. Or so Eddie’s trying to convince himself to avoid freaking out.
The whole drive over, Buck’s trying to convince Eddie to change his mind, and is still talking about it as they’re walking into the locker room, where Hen and Chimney already are.
“-and you have a backyard, which is just perfect-” Buck continues, not even bothering to say hi to their friends.
“It’s not big.” Eddie points out, opening his locker.
“But it’s enough! And we can build a doghouse together, that’d be so much fun!” he says excitedly, and when Eddie looks at him and sees his sparkling eyes and that smile, he almost gives in. “And I’ll take care of it all the time, too, you know I will.”
“Buck.” Eddie tries to be stern and wants to shut it down for now. They’re at work.
“You’re getting a dog?” Hen asks, piecing together the few sentences she’s heard. “As in… together?”
“Yeah.” Buck grins, opening his own locker as well.
“We’re not getting a dog.”
“No, but it just makes sense.” Buck shrugs, taking off his t-shirt in one smooth motion, and Eddie pointedly does not look (he sees him out of the corner of his eye anyway, he can’t help it, peripheral vision exists, okay?). He doesn’t look until Buck puts his LAFD shirt on, and he’s safe to turn to him without the danger of blushing or his eyes lingering where they shouldn’t. He kind of hates realizing he’s attracted to his best friend, because it’s making things weird, at least in his head.
“How does it make sense exactly?” Chimney asks, something smug in his voice.
“It just does.” Buck says dismissively, and Eddie wonders if he’s as confused as Eddie as to what has been happening lately between them. “And Christopher wants nothing more than to get a dog. He said he doesn’t want any presents for his birthday or for Christmas, just a dog.” he adds, and Eddie’s heart breaks a little. Has he said that? Not to Eddie. But if he did… They’re so gonna break Eddie sooner or later. But, again, he’s stubborn (which is probably where Chris gets it from, honestly).
“We’re not getting a dog.” he repeats for what feels like a thousandth time. It’s like a new catchphrase, and he doesn’t like it.
“But Eddie.” Buck pouts, and Eddie tries, really tries, but is aware he’s doing a poor job at that, to conceal a fond smile. Buck is just so adorable, and Eddie is- well, he’s maybe-possibly-probably in love with him. But they’re at work, and their friends are listening, and he doesn’t need the input, and doesn’t need them to know how much closer he and Buck are than they realize – though it might be too late for that, to be honest.
“Let’s talk at home?” he finally sighs, and Buck grins triumphantly. And Eddie knows he’s gonna give in sooner or later.
Especially since, once he gets home, Chris and Buck join forces once again, and Eddie can only hold out on his own for so long. With even his partner against him, there’s not much he can do. His son has websites of some local shelters open on his laptop, as well as a whole PowerPoint presentation about why it’s a great idea to get a dog. Eddie doesn’t know when Buck and Chris made it, but they did, and now they sit Eddie down in the living room and make their case.
And, well, obviously, Eddie’s heart is not made of stone. He sees the two most important people in his life be so passionate and excited about this, they already set their hearts on getting a dog, and Eddie’s been refusing long enough.
Once the presentation is over, he stands up from the couch, while his boys look at him expectantly and with so much hope, if he didn’t change his mind already, he would now.
“So? Can we get a dog?” Chris asks quietly. Eddie takes a deep breath.
“We need to set some rules first.” Eddie says, and cheers erupt. Before he can say anything more, he finds himself in a tight embrace by Buck and Chris, whom Buck lifted up into his arms, so they can both hug Eddie. They thank him, and are so happy, and Eddie knows he’s made a good decision.
He’s even more sure a minute later, when Buck, in all his joy and excitement, apparently forgets himself and kisses Eddie straight on the lips, just a sweet, chaste brush of lips, and when he realizes what he’s done, they both freeze. Meanwhile, Chris, still in Buck’s arms, has his arms around Eddie’s neck, and doesn't look at them.
There’s fear in Buck’s eyes, and Eddie gets it, the fear over the possibility of ruining everything, he feels it every time he has the urge to do something dumb like kiss Buck. Which, well, happened. And Buck initiated it. So maybe nothing’s ruined, if Buck feels the same. Because why else would he kiss Eddie?
So, Eddie smiles, which quickly turns into a grin, and Buck looks relieved, and then he beams, when Eddie leans back in, capturing Buck’s lips in a short, soft, tender kiss. It feels like coming home, like everything is where it’s supposed to be. Somehow, Eddie thinks they’re on the same page, and they both know they’re on the same page. They will need to talk later, but for now, the silent communication and understanding they’ve always had is enough.
“Ew.” they hear Chris groan, and they break the kiss with a laugh, both blushing. “At least put me down if you’re gonna make out.” he adds, and Eddie feels his cheeks get even warmer. He sees that Chris is smiling, though, and Eddie’s a little surprised, because it seems like he’s cool with him and Buck being… whatever they are now. Hopefully dating.
“Uh, here you go.” Buck mumbles, putting him back down, his face bright red. “So, a dog?” he asks, shyly looking at Eddie.
“When?” Chris immediately adds.
“Why don’t we drive down to the shelter tomorrow and have a look?” Eddie suggests. “But first, some rules.” he says sternly, not letting even Buck kissing him distract him, not completely, anyway. He can keep it together for a minute. “Every morning one of you walks it and feeds it. No dogs on the furniture, including the couch. It’ll get a bed in your room-” he points at Chris, who beams at him, “and that’s where it’ll sleep. It’s your responsibility.” he looks from Chris to Buck, they both nod. He’s also aware that most of any rules will get broken anyway, and that he’ll end up taking care of it, too, obviously, they all live under the same roof anyway. Well, not all… not yet.
“Are we building a doghouse in the backyard?” Buck asks tentatively.
“Dad, can we?”
“Yes, of course we can.” Eddie smiles, because he already said yes, and he’s not sure he’d be able to say no to anything they both ask him right now. “But let’s get a dog first, and then we’ll worry about everything else, alright? We’ll get toys and bowls and all that tomorrow, too.” he adds, knowing that it’s another question from his son. And it’s just hitting him now that it’s happening. They’re getting a dog. What is he getting himself into… But first, there are more pressing issues. “Hey, why don’t you go call Carla and tell her, to prepare her for what she’ll have to deal with when she’s here next time, and I’ll just talk to Buck real quick?” Eddie adds, and Chris just nods, gives them both a knowing look, as if he was sure what it is they wanna talk about, and goes to his room.
Once they’re alone, Eddie looks at Buck, who’s looking everywhere but at Eddie. He’s nervous, as if he didn’t get enough confirmation already. Eddie grabs his hand and intertwines their fingers, and Buck’s wide eyes land on him.
“Relax.” Eddie chuckles. “I just felt like maybe we need to talk at least a little bit.”
“Yeah, uh, so that was-” he stops, as if not sure what to say next.
“Unexpected.” Eddie finishes for him, still smiling. “But very, very welcome.” he says just to reassure Buck that he’s not reading anything wrong (Eddie’s not sure how he could but, well, it’s Buck), and tugs at Buck’s hand to bring him closer.
“Yeah?” his face lights up, and his eyes shine when they look into Eddie’s.
“Yeah.” Eddie gets even closer, their faces inches apart, both their smiles widening, as Eddie links their lips again. But then he pulls away, because he did want to talk. Nothing goes according to plan today, but he’s not complaining. “I’m happy you kissed me, because I was starting to think I’d never be brave enough.” Eddie admits. “I was worried I’d ruin things if you didn’t feel the same.”
“Which is?” Buck raises an eyebrow, his smile turns teasing, and hopeful, and of course he already knows, but Eddie will gladly spell it out for him.
“I’m in love with you.” Eddie responds, looking into Buck’s eyes, and he feels so much lighter now that he said it. He’s been denying it, wondering, freaking out over it for so long, but now it comes as easy as breathing, and it just feels so right. “I think I have been for a long time. We’re a family already, but I want us to be a family in this sense, too.” he squeezes Buck’s hand, where he’s still holding it. “I love you so much, Buck.”
“I love you, too.” Buck’s smile is blinding. And Eddie can’t resist leaning in to kiss it. “I didn’t even think, it was so-”
“Normal?” Eddie finishes for him with a laugh. “Yeah. Like we’ve always done it.” Because that’s what it feels like when he kisses Buck right now. It’s amazing, yes, but there’s nothing really groundbreaking, it doesn’t feel new, even though it is, it’s the most natural thing in the world, kissing Buck, like Eddie’s been meant to do it. “And if you want, I’d love to do this for the rest of our lives.”
“Wow, that’s fast.” Buck jokes, kissing Eddie again. “We just kissed for the first time, slow down.”
“Uh, we’re getting a dog together.” Eddie pulls away further to give him a look, eyebrows raised. “And we’re co-parenting a kid together, have been for longer than either of us probably realize.” he adds, and sees Buck’s face melt at that. “We’re pretty far ahead already.”
“That’s true.” Buck chuckles. “I can’t believe this is happening.” he whispers, bringing his free hand up to Eddie’s cheek. “I love you.”
“I love you.” Eddie can’t resist a smile. He gets to say it now. He gets to kiss Buck, and hold his hand, and be with him. And maybe they started it a little backwards, but they’re them. They’ve been partners and co-parents for so long, and they know each other better than anyone else. So, Eddie doesn’t think anything would be too fast. Hell, they could get married tomorrow and he’s pretty sure no one would even bat an eye, it’d seem like the most natural thing. But maybe not just yet. Not that, at least, he’ll work up to it one day. However… “And, you know, parenting a kid together plus taking care of a dog together will be just so hard while living apart.” he adds teasingly, and sees Buck’s eyes widen.
“Yeah?” he breathes out.
“Yeah. Might make it much easier if you, I don’t know, maybe move in soon?” he asks, trying to act as nonchalantly as he can, but not quite succeeding, because he’s excited. He hasn’t been this giddy in a long time. And, to be honest, Buck’s already kind of living with them, it’d just make so much sense. More than getting a dog together while living apart, that’s for sure.
“You want me to move in?” Buck tries to smirk, but awe and surprise overtake his expression.
“If you do, yeah.” Eddie says decisively, because now that it’s happening, now that he knows for sure that he and Buck feel the same, everything slots into place, and he knows exactly what he wants. He wants Buck in his life, in his home, forever. “That not too fast for you?” he slowly leans in again, not able to resist those gorgeous lips a second longer, now that he got a taste.
“Actually, no. Seems perfect.” Buck responds, meeting Eddie’s lips halfway.
When they go to the shelter the next morning, Chris is excitedly talking about dog names, and everything they need to buy, and all the research he and Buck have been doing on training dogs to pee outside, and teach them tricks – it’s adorable how excited he is, and now Eddie has no idea why he was ever opposed. Buck and Eddie walk right next to him, holding hands, smiling at each other, as they listen to their son.
______________
It takes maybe two weeks for the puppy to have Eddie wrapped around her little paw, any rules he made be damned. He’ll never admit it out loud, because he was the one refusing to get a dog in the first place, but she won him over completely. Buck and Chris tease him about it, and he pretends he has no idea what they’re talking about, which apparently they find really funny.
“Hey, I thought you said no dogs on the couch?” Buck asks, running his fingers through Eddie’s hair, as he walks around the couch to sit next to Eddie. Well, Eddie and their little puppy, Luna, who’s curled up next to him, her head on Eddie’s lap, and she’s soundly snoring as he absentmindedly pets her. Buck sits down on his other side, and puts an arm around Eddie.
“Did I?” Eddie mutters, looking down at the adorable dog, and wondering what he could have been thinking then. “I don’t recall.” he adds, and Buck laughs. Eddie immediately shushes him. “She’s asleep, shut up.”
“Wow.” Buck whispers and rolls his eyes. “And you didn’t even want her.”
“Shh.”
“You guys are inseparable now. This was supposed to be Christopher’s dog.” Buck notices with amusement, and he’s only half right. It is Chris’ dog. But she really likes Eddie, and what can he do about it? But they’re not inseparable. Eddie and Buck might be even more now, but not Eddie and the dog.
“She is. Yours and Chris’. She just sat next to me.” Eddie says, looking back at the TV that’s so quiet it’s barely audible. Buck and Chris have been obsessed with the dog since the moment they saw her, and she loves to play with them both, but for some reason, whenever Chris is not there, she ends up hanging out with Eddie more. Buck always jokes that she could sense who was skeptical towards her and made it her mission to change his mind. Maybe there’s something to it.
“And you woke up at four to walk her this morning. And two days ago.” Buck points out, having way too much fun with this. So maybe Eddie’s willingly walking her now after claiming that he won’t, because he’s not the one who wants a dog, so what? He’s allowed to change his mind… again. “And didn’t she sleep in our bed last night?”
“That’s irrelevant.” Eddie responds, not able to resist a smile. He still can’t believe it’s our bed, and our home, and our son, and our life… and our dog – as much as Eddie wants to deny it, she stole his heart, just like she did Buck’s and Chris’. He won’t say that, though. “Someone has to walk her when you two can’t, and she already woke me up.” he shrugs.
“Oh, of course.” Buck laughs and kisses his cheek. “So you guys are not best friends yet?”
“No.” Eddie responds immediately, but his hand is still petting the dog, and he involuntarily smiles when she blinks her eyes open. “Hi, look who finally woke up.” he says softly, and ignores Buck chuckling – or tries to, but it’s Buck, and his laugh is one of his favorite sounds. Luna turns over, demanding belly rubs, and Eddie obliges.
“I love you so much.” Buck says, and when Eddie looks up at him, he immediately meets his eyes, filled with so much affection, it still takes Eddie by surprise.
“I love you, too.” Eddie responds, and just the fact that he can say it now is still making him grin like an idiot.
“More than the dog?” Buck teases, and Eddie rolls his eyes, while Buck laughs once again. “I’m not hearing a no.”
“You’re insufferable.” Eddie leans over and kisses Buck, just to shut him up. He laughs into the kiss, and Eddie can’t believe how much he loves him, his heart is overflowing with it. One of them deepens the kiss, and Eddie’s just about to suggest they make the best out of Chris still being at school, while they have a day off, but then a few insistent barks interrupt them, and Eddie realizes he stopped petting the dog when he and Buck started kissing. He pulls away, and smirks. “Look, she’s just as clingy as you.”
“And apparently she wants all your attention, like me.” he looks at Luna. “You know he’s mine, right?” he gets another bark in response, before she apparently gets bored of not getting attention, and jumps off the couch, going to the kitchen, where she has her bowls and some of her toys, and they installed a dog door on the back door, so she can go to the backyard, where Eddie, Buck and Chris build a doghouse and fenced off a little area for her. It’s been a fun project, Buck was right. “Ha! Now I have you all to myself.” Buck grins, and leans in again.
Much later that night, they all watch a movie together, Christopher sits in between them, the puppy on his lap, Buck and Eddie’s hands intertwined on the back of the couch, because now that they’re allowed to, they never stop touching for longer than necessary. Maybe they’re both a little clingy. Eddie kind of loves it.
He looks at his family, his wonderful son, and his incredible partner, who’s holding his hand and smiles softly at him over their son’s head, and the dog that, there’s no denying, brought them together. Maybe it’d happen one day anyway, it probably would, but they got here quicker because Christopher and Buck really wanted a dog. And now they live together, they have a family and a life, and a future together. Eddie thinks that giving in to all the pleading and getting a dog was the best decision he could’ve made, and he’s so grateful for it.
He brings Buck’s hand closer and kisses his knuckles, just because. He’s just overwhelmed with how happy he is right now. He doesn’t think he’s ever been more content in his life. And when Chris groans and complains that they’re being gross and constantly making out (which they’re not… at least not with Chris present), they just laugh, and look at each other, and it’s perfect. Their family is perfect. Eddie wouldn’t change it for the world.

Hi! Can I request chuuya, Poe and tecchou night routines with their s/o? :)
Yess! ^^ thank you for the request, I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: none
Night routines with GN! S/o with chuuya, Poe, and tecchou from bsd
Chuuya
I think he stays up pretty late. Be enjoys a good wine and often stays up drinking. so more often than not you had to drag his drunken self off to bed. But on the nights he does decide to go to bed he wouldn't exactly tell you that he wanted to lay down with you. Instead he would only hint at it and get a little annoyed if you didn't take his hint. Yes a little embarresed and has no clue how to ask you. Once you realize what he wants you two go lay down. He defiantly clings to you while he sleeps. He likes breathing in your scent just so he knows your his he finds great comfort in this. Oh and he expects a goodnight kiss every night so you better remember.
"Hey don't you think it's getting late" you hear his voice as he entered the room leaning against the door frame. He looked at you expectantly. "Hm is it? I don't think it's that late" you say looking up from whatever you were doing. "Nope i think it's pretty late, I think you should get your rest...i could join you...i guess" he said a little akward. Then you finally realize what he was aiming for. You smile amused and nod "oh i think you're right! I would love for you to join me" you say with a smile getting up as you lay down on the bed. He holds an arm around you back as you start to feel sleepy. He's looking at You very intensively. You remember to lean over and give him a kiss, he's satisfied and soon fast asleep. Once hes asleep he clings his arms around you like a koala, laying his head on your chest he mutters "love ya"
Poe
I think he often forgets to take care of himself. He often stays up late working on his mystery novels so his sleep scedule is terrible. You'll have to remind him to go to bed when it gets late, because he won't even notice the sun has set outside. When he does realize that he actually is exausted and needs sleep, then he will allow you to lead him back to your shared bedroom. I feel like he would fall asleep very fast cuddling next to you and Karl sleeping on the end of the bed. I also think he would really enjoy if you read some if his novels before bed, Like a little bedtime story when he had trouble with his racing thoughts. All together you really help him out, without you he would stay up all night and probably fall asleep on his desk. So he is very greatful.
"Poe, my love, its 11 pm you've been working all day lets get some rest" you say calmly as you grab his shoulder. He was very focused on his writing so he jumped abit from the sudden contact. He looked over at the clock "oh it seems your right dear...silly me" he said a little embarrassed he got lost in his work again. You smile grabbing his hand you walk to bed, Karl was already fast asleep at the end of the bed. You two lie down he holds you close he was barely awake now as all of todays work came crashing down on him. He mutters in a sleepy tone "thank you my dear, you're always taking care of me... I appreciate it more than you know. Goodnight my love"
Tecchou
I feel like he has a pretty strict scedule he holds himself too as a hunting dog. He knows its very important to have his sleep, so he defiantly has a bedtime. 8:00 pm sharp. He tends to wake up early to go to work. As his s/o don't worry has not unreasonable. He won't force you to follow his scedule. You can stay up later if you like, he won't be upset. If say you can crawl into bed with him at any time and he would wrap his arms around you still fast asleep. He loves it when you stroke his hair as he falls asleep if you do decide to fall asleep at the same time as him. He also likes to listen to your heartbeat and hold you close just so he's sure you're safe and no one can hurt you while your in his arms.
It was about 11 pm when you finally felt tored enough to fall asleep. You quietly enter the room where tecchou was already fast asleep. You climb into the bed and under the covers, once your settled you feel a pair of earls wrap around your waist he rest his head against your shoulder holding you close to his chest. You smile snuggling closer to him "night" you hear him mutter. You were not sure if he was awake or not but you smile giving him a kiss on his forehead before you drift off to sleep.

Hehehe static shock brainrot go brrrr. I have waaay more thpughts about this than i thought, so this'll be part one! Most of it it setup, I'll star ☆ where the fluffy headcanons start! Also, trigger warning for the discussion of death.
Tumblr media
Virgil regresses first because. You know. trauma.
I think he's been inclined to regress his whole life but it started to happen involuntarily after his mom passed away, especially late at night after he had dreams about her.
He didn't really know what it was until his dad brought it up in relation to one of the teens he was working with. He mentioned o Virgil they needed to be handled with care because they regress involuntarily due to trauma, and Virgil was like Whoops I Do That
He still didn't tell his dad, at first he felt really embarrassed about it. He tried as hard as he could to repress and avoid it, but it would come back stronger
After spending more time around the kid, he got used to it and decided maybe it wasn't so bad.
So he at least didn't try to fight it any more, now that he knew what it was. He wasn't super active about it though. It only happened at night, so the most he'd do about it was sleep with his favorite beanie baby dog, Pluto, or maybe ask to sleep in his dad's room if he felt really bad.
The first time it happened during the day was at the beginning of high school, when Francis started to bully him. Francis was a really intense bully, and Virgil had never been beat up before. He had a went back home and just couldn't stop crying, he felt so scared.
That's when Richie came in
It wasn't out of the ordinary for Richie to just go up to Virgil's room whenever he felt like it, they were just like that. It was especially expected when Virgil didn't meet up with him after school as usually.
When he got in Virgil was curled up around his dog plush, crying a lot. He had been beat up pretty bad and everything hurt.
Richie rushed to help him, getting him first aid and ice packs and trying to calm him down. It did work a little, though he was still crying, he felt a little better with Richie there
Until he realized... Richie was there
This was not something he intended to share with anyone, not even Richie. What would he think? That he's a total weirdo? Who would wanna hang around a teenager who still acts like a toddler? Counterintuitively, the thought only made him cry more.
Richie didn't notice anything weird, not the crying, not even Pluto, I mean, who wouldn't want to curl up and cry after getting roughed up?
After Virgil calmed down enough, Richie went to go tell Mr. Hawkins. Virgil wasn't opposed, his dad always made him feel safe.
After Mr. Hawkins helped Virgil, he pulled Richie aside to explain why Virgil was so scared.
Virgil tried to interject, that this wasn't Richie's problem, but Richie wanted to know. All he wanted to do was help his best friend, he didn't care what the circumstance was. Plus, Mr. Hawkins insisted it was a trauma response, nothing to be ashamed of.
Richie took the news really well. He reassured Virgil he didn't think any less of him and they were best friends no matter what.
Richie was actually the one who brought up they may be able to turn it into a fun thing. If you feel like a kid, why not act like a kid? There's tons of fun stuff they got 'too old for' to dig up.
☆ Rich really stepped up to help Virgil feel better about regression. He took him to the arcade, the museum, the aquarium - anything to make Virgil smile.
Virgil goes from 3-8 age wise
He looooves video games. He's usually pretty good at them, but he gets a little clumsy when regressed. Richie let's him win on purpose and helps him with all the tough levels
Virgil also loves tinkering! Any kind of building toys, he's all over it - especially legos. He can build so much cool stuff with legos, he's one of those guys who has shelves dedicated to his Lego creations.
Just generally, the Hawkins have a treasure trove of 90s/early 2000s nostalgia. Nerf guns, bayblades, whatever pogs are, they even have an easy bake oven.
Virgil’s dad is very supportive, and very happy Richie is so keen to take care of him. He always makes time for Virgil when he needs him.
Virgil loves to watch cartoons, Richie loves them too. They go crazy for Spongebob
Sharon doesn't fully understand what's going on with Virgil, but she doesn't mind going big sister mode sometimes. He's always her baby brother, after all.
They call him little vee or vee-vee :]

Heartslabyul
The Crimson Tyrant and Rose Maze
Intro | Lion's Den | Witch's Lakehouse | Desert Manor | Poison Palace | Death’s Mansion | Dragon’s Castle
Tumblr media
This chapter is pretty similar to how it opens in Twisted Wonderland only difference is Yuu wakes up in a jail cell awaiting beheadment literally. They sit there for a while to see if anyone was coming before testing the gate to find that it was unlocked allowing them to escape into the Rose Garden/Maze. Now this is where the mechanics and tutorial come into play.
The first character Yuu encounters isn’t Ace nor Deuce but Cater as he is the Caretaker of the roses, which means he is mainly in the garden, the maze, or the greenhouse tending and painting the roses, under the Queen’s orders. Cater, and to an extent, Trey would both have unique mechanics to their “stalker” chase and gameplay in general. Since Heartslabyul has a strict schedule that everyone must follow, Cater and Trey, won’t bother Yuu even if Yuu just stands in the same room as them during the work hours, unless Yuu decides to fuck around and find out, when they were doing their work. Going back to Cater and Yuu’s encounter with him. They quite literally run into him. He turns to them and smiles, not fully realizing who they are until he takes a closer look at them. He then tries to deceive them, which doesn’t work and initiates a chase.Cater chases Yuu until the clock chimes to tell him it’s time to work.
Yuu meets Ace and Deuce after being chased. Deuce wanted to sound the alarm to warn Riddle and the other higher ups that they found Yuu, but Ace stopped him and helped Yuu get around and even hide from Trey and Cater. Both act as a safe room, like the ones from Resident Evil or Silent Hill, but good things never last, but we’ll get to that later.
You might be wondering, “Where does Grim play into all this?” Well my friend, Grim is the helpful animal companion that Yuu gets. He collects Items and helps defend Yuu from being chased, basically the dog from Haunting Grounds. So he has similar mechanics. Treat Grim well (Feed, praise, pet, etc) and he’ll do everything without too much of a fuss, but Mistreat him (Kick, scold, don’t feed, etc) and he’ll flat out ignore your commands, and even be the cause of Yuu’s pain.
Speaking of Trey, I mention in the first post that he’s the Ruler’s Caretaker, specifically. He tends to Riddle and actually wouldn’t be seen alot in this chapter, until his part of the story, but that’s not to say you can’t find him in early parts of the story. If he isn’t tending to Riddle, he’s in the kitchen baking.
Now Riddle is one of three special cases of Final Bosses. Yuu literally doesn’t even get to see him until his boss battle, which is similar to his Overblot, which Ace causes once again. Riddle is only really mentioned by every other character that Yuu encounters, which makes him sound like an actual demon, but when they finally meet him, they don’t understand what the others spoke about.

Chapter 4: Something New in the New
Summary: Casey gets threatened with death, but gets to leave with Crowley, so it's fine.
Tags: teen!oc, gn!oc, superpowered!oc, Winchesters being assholes, Castiel being the voice of reason, Dean pissing himself, demon dogs, crying
Tumblr media
Sam told me to sit down on the couch and not move. Of course, I didn’t move. He was shoving a fucking angel blade in my face. He looked so angry, and his anger didn’t simmer when he saw my scared shitless face. It didn’t even simmer when Dean and Castiel came into the room.
“They're a monster, Dean,” Sam told his brother right as he entered the room. Dean didn’t look angry. He just looked disappointed.
The older brother sighed, “Guess I really do have to kill them.”
“No!” Castiel and Crowley yelled out.
I would have protested too, but I was so fucking scared. It’s no fun being on the bad side of the Winchesters. For the first time since this whole thing started, I really just wanted to go home. The only thing that was scary back at home was grades. No one was trying to kill me there.
“What do you mean no?” Sam’s head snapped to Castiel, “This is what we agreed on.”
“You can’t kill them,” Castiel moved so his body was blocking mine, “I won’t let you.”
“Neither will I, by the way,” Crowley stepped up next to Cas, “They’re special. They're not just some low-level demon that I’ll allow you to kill off.”
“So, they’re a demon?” Dean asked.
“I don’t know,” Crowly responded honestly.
Well, that was really reassuring. The fucking King of Hell couldn’t figure out what I was, the Winchester brothers wanted to kill me, and I was freaking out. It was too fucking early for the shit.
“They are not a demon,” Castiel finally decided to say something, “They are not a monster. They are, however, something very powerful-”
“More of a reason to kill them!”
“Do not interrupt me, Dean,” Dean looked taken aback, but stayed quiet, “They may be powerful, but they don’t know how to use this power. They are as harmful as a paper cut. They are also a child. You will not kill someone that is innocent just because they have powers that they weren’t aware of.”
“You’re telling me they didn’t know!” It was Sam this time that yelled.
Castiel stayed calm, “No, they didn’t know. Look how scared they are.”
The angel moved over slightly so the brothers could get a good look at me. I don’t remember when it happened, but tears were now on my face. I was trying to make myself as small as possible as if that would keep me safe, and, again, I had no idea what was going on. They could probably see it in my eyes.
Castiel was now fully back in front of me and I was grateful. Not to sound like a broken record, but I was so fucking scared. I looked over to Crowley and saw he was already looking at me. If I wasn’t hallucinating, it looked like the demon felt bad.
“...so we’re not going to kill them,” Castiel was still talking, “We can take them somewhere else, but we’re not killing them.”
I heard huffs of agreement before Castiel moved from in front of me. I saw Sam and it looked like he felt pretty guilty for almost shanking me. He couldn’t meet my eyes. Dean just stared at me like he was expecting me to do something bad any second.
Crowley didn’t move from his spot in front of me. I didn’t mind, but I think others had something to say about it.
“Why are you still standing there?” Dean asked. His eyes were accusatory.
“The dog is in front of me,” Crowley stated casually.
“What dog? There’s no dog, Crowley.”
“Oh, squirrel,” the demon smirked, “It’s a demon dog,” Dean took a huge step back and almost tripped on his own feet, “You of all people should know that they’re invisible.”
“Why…” Dean's face looked as white as a sheet, “Why is there a demon dog in the bunker?”
“Casey asked.”
Dean’s eyes snapped to me. Really? Did Crowley really have to throw me under the bus like that? Right after they agreed not to kill me? Dean looked too scared to be mad, but he still tried.
“I was curious,” I mumbled.
“J-just get it out of here!” Dean squeaked.
I frowned. One of those big frowns that looks cartoonish.
“Crowley?” I started.
“Yes, child?”
“Could you please make Steven leave?”
“Steven?” Crowley lifted his eyebrow in amusement.
“Yes, Steven. Steven the demon dog. The right-hand man of the King of Hell himself,” I snorted and then started laughing hysterically. I started laughing so hard that more tears ran down my cheeks. Not because of fear this time, but because I named a fucking real-life demon dog Steven.
“Casey is in shock,” Castiel stated.
“Yeah…” Sam muttered guiltily.
Crowley took out his whistle after staring at me like I was crazy and blew. I felt fur brush across my ankles before the demon said that the demon dog was gone.
“Now,” Crowley said, “I think it would be best if I took them.”
Sam and Dean looked like they were about to protest, but Crowley gave them the ‘talk to the hand’.
“From what I saw, you can’t keep them safe. If anything, you two idiots would be the ones to kill them, and I will not let that happen. So,” Crowley wiped nonexistent lint from his suit jacket, “They should come with me.”
“Cas?” the old brother asked the angel.
“For now,” Castiel took a breath, “I agree with Crowley.”
“Great! Now go get your stuff, child.” Crowley waved his hand in the general direction of the bedrooms. The thing is, I’d never been to my room before. Remember? I slept on the fucking couch.
“I, um, don’t know where my room is,” I twiddled my thumbs.
“Right, these pigs made you sleep on the couch,” the King of Hell sneered.
“We didn’t-”
“I found them asleep on the couch. You made them sleep on the couch,” Crowley snapped.
“I will lead you to your room. You can get your clothes,” Castiel offered.
There was no chance in hell that I was gonna get more clothes like the ones I had on. I would rather sever my fingers with a plastic knife before wearing these rags. Seriously, who picked these abominations?
“If clothes are all I need to get from there… I think I’m good,” the angel tilted his head in confusion, “The clothes probably look like shit or they’re flannel. I’m not wearing either of those. I have pride.”
Sam and Dean looked offended, but I didn’t really care.
“Crowley can get me clothes that don’t make me wanna wash my eyes with bleach,” I turned to the demon in question, “Right?”
He sighed, “I can.”
“Great! Then, I’m ready to go!”
“Alright, child. Out the door then.”
“You drove?” I was surprised. I thought he was gonna teleport me out of here or I was gonna find out that he had wings. Plus, I had cars in my own world. Riding in one now is so fucking lame when there’s supernatural shit that can help you travel.
Crowley scoffed, “Of course not.”
Crowley and I were at the top of the stairs when I decided to acknowledge the men - and angel - I was leaving behind. I wasn’t very fond of Sam or Dean right now, but Castiel probably saved my ass today. He saw something in me that made him want to spare me. Something that he didn’t see in whoever occupied this body before.
I turned and smiled, “Thanks, Castiel. Hope to see you soon.”
The last thing I saw before the door closed was Dean and Sam looking like guilty little fuckers. They were enough dumb to think that after voting to kill me that they were gonna get a goodbye.
AN: We're getting to the good part.

So I had a new idea for one of those too-ambitious-to-ever-actually-write fics.
I had the thought today that Simon is the only really good father figure in the entire series. Even Jake, who tries his best, kind of sucks at being a dad, and it's only because the pups are so self-sufficient that they all turn out okay. Likewise, the writing is, imo, too forgiving to Joshua for some of the tough love crap he pulled on Finn. Obviously he's nowhere near as bad a father as Martin or Hunson, but the bar is so low it's on the ground.
So it's a shame Simon, who obviously very much wants to be a dad, and who has proven to be pretty good at it even if he's made his own share of mistakes, only returns to sanity when Finn is practically an adult. They're good friends, but the window was basically already closed on him being any kind of significant parental influence in Finn's life.
Then I thought, wait. There's no rules in fanfic. I can imagine whatever what-if scenario I want!!!!!
AU where Simon is Finn's adopted dad:
In this AU, Simon is cured (or perhaps only partially cured?) not long before Finn arrives in Ooo. The HOW may or may not be relevant to the story, but he's back to himself or at least as sane as he was when he was traveling with little Marcy.
When Margaret and Joshua find baby Finn, they do a bit of investigating and find out that there's another human who lives nearby, and they go to confront him in case he was the one who abandoned the baby. Simon is of course stricken at the accusation, but the misunderstanding is cleared up and, of course, eventually it's decided that he'll take care of Finn. (I picture the dogs being reluctant to part with him at first, but then Simon overhears that they're demon hunters and is like OH ACTUALLY I'D BE GLAD TO TAKE HIM IN, IN FACT I INSIST! I HAVE A LOVELY--and safe!--HOME HAHA... MAYBE YOU AND THE TWINS CAN VISIT HIM SOMETIMES THOUGH. WON'T THAT BE NICE)
Anyway I don't know exactly where it'd go from there but there's so much you could do with this AU
Obviously Finn and Jake are still best friends even though they're not actual brothers, because they're, like, literally canonically soulmates. And being around the dog family would be more than enough for Finn to pick up his same old reckless adventurer tendencies as before, despite Simon's best efforts to keep him out of trouble. This would be one of the biggest sources of conflict between them.
Marceline would of course be Finn's cool older sister figure. Getting Simon back early would have some serious effects on Marcy's character development, though exactly how that would play out would probably depend on the circumstances of his cure (and also how involved Bonnie is in the whole situation).
(I have a scene in my head where a really young Finn asks Simon why Marcy calls him by name instead of "Dad", and Simon needs to take a Moment to process the ensuing emotions.)
Maybe the fic could explore right after Finn is adopted, when Simon and the dogs are still trying to figure out where he came from. (They all become friends in the process, which facilitates more playdates for their kids later on.) Considering Finn appeared to be abandoned, the dogs would be fairly happy to move on and let his presumably awful birth parents just get bent and rot. Simon, although surprised other humans still exist somewhere, can't deny he feels similarly. But, the bear hat sparks something in Simon's memory, and when he brings it up to Marceline she remembers the ship she'd saved all those years ago. They make the connection and realize humans must have settled somewhere across the sea. Depending on what kind of fic you want it to be, they may or may not act on this epiphany right away.
Even if they save the islands for later, I think Simon--an anthropologist at heart--would recognize the importance of keeping something as culturally important as Finn's hat, if only to remind him of his heritage later. But even if he stored it somewhere, little toddler Finn would repeatedly dig it out of the closet and insist on wearing it, until Simon acquiesced that it was just going to be Finn's thing. Like Hambo and a security blanket all wrapped in one. With another human around to model himself on, though, I think Finn would eventually stop wearing it as an actual hat all the time and instead maybe just drape it over his shoulders like a hood or capelet.
I imagine Simon would insist on some sort of homeschooling for Finn, at least part of the time, because I just can't picture Candy Kingdom schools being up to his standards, let alone anywhere else in Ooo, lmao. Plus this way he'd be able to teach Finn about human history and culture without worrying about the truth getting mixed up or lost to time. For the most part, though, Finn would haaaaate formal education, which Simon would find baffling, as a lifelong nerd academic who surrounded himself with fellow nerds academics.
So yeah, as Finn grows and it becomes clear he's not cut out for academia like his old man, Simon has to accept that the world they live in is not the same as the one he was raised in himself, and that it might actually be prudent for Finn to learn to use a sword, if only to protect himself. He reluctantly eases up on the curfews and restrictions and gradually allows Finn more freedom to go on adventures with Jake, though he's a nervous wreck every time.
(Maybe Finn convinces him to come along sometimes to prove that it's safe, and Simon actually develops some dungeoneering skills too, in this AU? 👀 As a bonus, we get more scenes like that "I was quite the outdoorsman in my day!" moment in F&C where Simon gets to show off that he WAS a little bit of an adventurer back before the War. Optionally add Marceline on these adventures, too!)
As for The Betty Situation, it could range from "she simply died a thousand years ago and Simon has no choice but to grieve and move on for his new family's sake" to "the way he's cured in this AU plays out similarly to the episode 'Betty' except something goes wrong and now she's on Mars/trapped in a time bubble/whatever and Simon has been lowkey desperately searching for her in all his spare time when not actively taking care of Finn."
.........God.
I WISH I had the discipline to write this into a proper fic. I WISH I wasn't so chronically indecisive and that I could at least pick a direction for it to go in, lmAO. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day today, ugh, I had to at least toss it out into the ether and share the concept. Please feel free to steal any or all of it and also to send me asks rambling about this show and these characters please god I'm going to lose my mind before the finale on Thursday

Some things to know that happened in 4th Year of nynn
Harry gets a scratching 'I think I heard that name before' the first time Bertha Jorkins is involved
Harry and Cedric walk together around the woords searching for the Portkey while talking about Quidditch, they dance together at the World Cup Celebrations
Harry freezes solid when she sees the Dark Mark
Harry feels like she is being watched by Moody during his entrance (she is)
Harry has tea with Moody after the Unforgivables class, he gives her the book Seeker Tactics that's fifty galleons, told to be gifted to him by an 'old friend'
Harry cheers Cedric on when he gets chosen as Champion (her clapping is the loudest on the Gryffindor table)
this silly writer still hasn't decided whether to have Ron & Harry argue as in the books because their dynamic is different, might make a poll
Skeeter is nosy and asks Harry about her soulmate. Harry tells her to piss off. Voldemort reads the newspaper of that article with a bit of amusement
Triwizard Champions get their outfits tailored especially for them to keep them safe and all are equal in quality; it is paid by the Department of Magical Sports
Voldemort listens to the wizarding radio that covers the triwizard tournament during the First Task, Sirius sneaks into a wizarding pub in his dog form to watch it across wizarding television (it isn't exactly a television, more like a big prophecy ball projecting in the air)
upon hearing Harry doesn't know how to dance Professor McGonagall organizes the dance lesson for the entire House and other Heads follow this, too
Harry helps Ron finally pluck up the courage to ask Hermione to the Yule Ball
Harry gets asked by a Beauxbatons boy and a Durmstrang boy who are perfect gentlemen and politely accept when Harry declines them. Harry decides to go with the twins if she doesn't find anyone
Harry and Cedric practice dancing in the kitchens while the elves encourage them (the elves have a betting pool)
after dancing a few dances with Cedric (more than three) Harry dances with the Beaxbatons boy and later the Durmstrang boy who both asked her for the Yule Ball prior. Harry also dances with Hermione (Hermione leads), Hermione dances with Krum, Harry dances with the twins
Hermione is the thing Harry will miss most, Ron doesn't get taken
The lake is 2°C in February, they wear insulated long-sleeved swimsuits magicked with layers of warming charms. The fabric itself has runes stitched on them.
the champions take the boats to the center of the lake and Moody pushes Harry in
Harry & Cedric go on a date in Hogsmeade on Valentine's Day
Harry freezes again when a seemingly crazy Mr Crouch mentions the Dark Lord
Barty gets too many heart attacks for his own good, somebody help the poor man
The Cave Trip with Sirius is interesting, Sirius is dangerously close to figuring it out
Addition, I can’t believe I forgot to mention this because it's pretty important for Harry/Cedric
after the World Cup, Cedric visits the Weasleys asking Harry if she wants to go flying with him. He and Harry go flying (they fly low and race) to the top of Stoatshead Hill where they sit together under a tree (I have yet to decide what tree) with a great view on the horizon. They start doing this every day until the end of summer, spending the early morning together, watching the sun rise. Mrs Weasley starts packing Harry sandwiches — they have big picnics under that tree. This is a pretty important thing because it builds their friendship. Also, the food I think I went for are strawberries.

For all those loved and lost - chapter 3 - I think I like when it rains.
Jackson – October 2024
You didn’t see Joel much after that night - when he was gripping onto the pole so hard, he might bend it. He’s probably just settling into his new life at Jackson just like you did 5 years ago.
You continue your patrols and helping around Jackson. Maria is starting to show a little now and people are getting suspicious. You ignore the whispers around Jackson. But no one dares to ask you because they know you won’t tell a soul of any of Tommy’s secrets, especially with his big brother still in the dark about it.
You’re up early this morning around 4:30am, and you decide enough is enough of moping around the house - like you have been doing all night, sleep yet again betraying you. So, you grab your boots and decide to go and see who you are on patrol with this morning.
Town is usually pretty quiet this early in the morning - just the stable hands and the barn keepers are awake at this time.
You wave a quick hello and continue walking.
You decide to go the long route past Tommy’s place and you see the lights are all turned on. You’re a little confused because Tommy usually goes to bed pretty early, and that’s when you spot Joel in the window, shouting coming from the small house.
Oh shit.
It looks like there’s an argument going on.
You stand for a moment, frozen in place, trying to hear what they could possibly be arguing about at 4:30am and suddenly the door flies open and Joel storms out.
“You ignored me for 5 years to build a life in some new place! You get married and get her pregnant and you don’t think to contact me one time on the goddamn radio, Tommy!” Joel shouts in an angry tone.
“What the hell was I supposed to say, Joel? Oh, hey big bro, I know I abandoned you to join the Fireflies, but I’m in this new settlement now, why don’t you pop over for a whiskey and a round of fucking poker?!”
You’re taken aback a little because you’ve never heard Tommy speak in such a frustrated tone. Before, he’s always been soft and gentle when it comes to you or Maria, but it looks like this time Joel has really pissed him off.
“No Tommy! You remember what you said to me that day you left? Huh? I don’t ever want to see your goddamn face again!”
Joel is seething with anger now and you have to really hold yourself back – you can’t get in the middle of the brothers fighting, like rabid dogs in the street.
Tommy sighs and rubs his eyes with his fingers, and you can sense the defeat in him. He doesn’t want to argue with his brother, he just wanted to tell him that he’s finally found a life for himself away from all the shit on the other side of those giant wooden gates that keep this whole town safe.
Finally, Tommy speaks again.
“Joel, you know goddamn well enough that I can’t just announce over a radio channel what we have here! Raiders would be here within days and then we’d all be fucked. The people in this town are not fighters, apart from me and JJ!”
“You mean your guard dog?”
Um…what?!
Oh, so now he’s turned on insulting you and you see red; you storm over to where the boys are arguing and push him out of Tommy’s face.
Tommy’s face is a look of surprise, as he didn’t even see you stood there for God knows how long.
You get in Joel’s face and begin to shout and push him out of Tommy’s front lawn.
“No! You know what, you are not doing this, Joel!” you scream, “you are not coming for Tommy when you spent 5 years avoiding the man! You know what we did in those 5 years, huh?! We hunted and we killed for a cause that doesn’t mean shit! You do not get to storm into our town, which we have built from nothing, and demand shit from the brother you do not deserve! Who do you think you are?”
Joel stiffens his jaw and looks past you to Tommy as if to say if you don’t tell her to calm down, I will put her down.
Joel says nothing so you continue.
“And you know what, Joel, Tommy has spent the last five years doing nothing but defend you and speaks so highly of you to me and Maria! I will not allow you to come into this town and ruin his life just like you did after the end of the fucking world!”
Joel looks at you with a seething look in his eyes - you’ve pissed him off big time now and he’s ready for a fight.
“You don’t know shit about our situation! I did what I had to do to survive and keep my brother safe! You don’t even know us, you’re just a silly girl he picked up on the road to the Fireflies!” he spits.
And that was it.
Something inside you snapped and you stomped up to him and punched him in the face.
The sharp sound of your fist making contact with Joel’s face echoes in your ears.
Your knuckles begin to burn with pain.
You regretted it instantly, and then you felt Tommy’s arms go around your waist and hold you back. He tells Joel to just leave and he does - he storms away with a furious look on his face. If you were in a cartoon, you swear you’d see smoke coming out of his ears.
Tommy turns you around to face him and he’s angry now - angrier than you’ve ever seen him.
So, you decide to speak first.
“Look I’m sorry I punched your brother in the face, but he deserved it!”
You’re not actually sorry for punching Joel in the face; he definitely deserved it, after the venom that just came from his mouth.  Words laced with pure spite, because Joel knows exactly how to damage his brother and make that damage permanent.
“He might have deserved it, JJ, but I don’t need you constantly defending my honour! I had it under control, we’re not in the Fireflies anymore. I don’t need you as backup. I can defend myself.” Tommy sighs.
“Certainly, didn’t look like it from where I was stood…” you said, a little spitefully.
“Why were you even stood there anyway? It’s 5am,” he shakes his head, “You know what it doesn’t matter why you were stood there, just… go home.”
“Are you kidding me right now, Tommy?” you say through a scoff.
“JJ,” he says with a warning “Go home! I’m tired and if you don’t mind, I’d like to go and spend time with my wife!”
You spin on your heels and storm off back to your home.
What an asshole!
You just defended him from his asshole brother, and you can’t even get a simple thank you? Was it really that hard? Was he really that proud after all the years of knowing each other that he can’t even give you a simple thank you for protecting him when he needed it?
You’re so angry and a little hurt, and you continue storming to your front door when you stop just in front of your house, and notice Joel slowly walking to a house just down the street from yours, number 303? you think anyway.
You decide to ignore it and head inside.
You enter your home and quickly go off to your bathroom and wash the blood off your knuckles.
You didn’t even notice you were bleeding until there was a hot rush of pain shooting across your knuckles, and you wince slightly from the cold water. It’s extra cold at the minute because it’s winter, so the water is like icicles stabbing you repeatedly in your already painful hand.
You settle back into the living room sitting on the couch, what the hell did you just do? Did you seriously just punch your best friend’s brother?
Shit… what have I done?
Regret starts to sink in, and you realise quickly that you have made a mistake and all you can think is how disappointed Tommy must be in you. But you were protecting your friend? Protecting him from his asshole brother who was insulting him for making a life for himself; insulting him for creating a new life; insulting him for marrying someone and finally settling down with Maria and building a community, where people who have survived this shitty shell of a world you used to live in.
You sigh and rub your eyes with your fingers and flop onto the hard cushions of your couch, staring at your ceiling and you sigh heavily.
Were you defending Tommy?
You think to yourself, or were you just mad at Joel for being an asshole when you were trying to help?
When you were trying to finally relate to him and get to know your best friend’s big brother?
The questions begin to spiral around and around in your head and there’s no way you can get to sleep now, not when you have patrol in an hour and a half.
You quickly sit up and stand from the couch and get your boots back on and leave your house.
You remember the door number for the house Joel had entered – 303, the house just up the street.
You stand at the gate for a considerable amount of time, still debating with yourself on whether or not you want to do this… do you want to do this? What are you doing?
You sigh again and begin to ascend the steps. You suck in a breath and you knock on the door, regret slowly beginning to rise deep in your chest, making you turn to leave when the door opens and Joel answers.
He spots you and goes to shut the door in your face, but you stop him with a wait.
“Wait! Please! I... um, I just wanted to come here and say I’m sorry for punching you. I shouldn’t have done that and uh yeah, I’m sorry.”
Shit this is awkward.
“You think Tommy needs you to defend him?” he asks raised eyebrows. You’re still trying to pinpoint that accent of his… Texas maybe? But still even with the accent, it doesn’t stop his condescending nature.
“What? No, I don’t think Tommy needs me to defend his battles for him, but he is my friend, and you were out of line.” you say, sticking your chin out in defiance.
“He is a grown ass man; he can defend himself,” he says, with that usual stiffening of his jaw and the will you just go away already look in his eyes.
“Look. I didn’t come here to argue. I just came here to say I’m sorry for punching you,” you say and turn on your heels to leave, not even giving him time to answer, and Joel doesn’t stop you.
So, you leave his porch and quickly walk back to your house.
You quickly enter and walk into the living room, feeling the breath catch in your throat now, it really is settling in now, the panic and you can’t breathe, the room is spinning and you grab onto the door frame to stabilise yourself, trying to remember what Tommy always tells you, in through your nose and out through your mouth, and you begin counting to ten. 1…2…3…
Breaths are getting slower now, your chest feels like it’s opening up and it becomes easier to breathe.
Why the fuck am I having a panic attack over Joel Miller? Maybe it was all the confrontation and the adrenaline from punching him and now the guilt is settling in, yes that’s what it is, the guilt. The guilt of punching him in the face and now you. How on earth are you supposed to show your face in town ever again? Punching the brother of the man who runs this town.
You manage to gain control of your panic - which you’re pretty proud of yourself for, because usually you need either a stiff drink, or Tommy by your side with his hands on your shoulders, telling you not to worry and that everything will be alright.
Tommy was always good during the worst years of your life. He always knew when you were really stressed, by the crinkles on your forehead. You told him the story of how Jake used to tell you that if you kept doing the crinkling of your eyebrows it’ll stay that way.
It made Tommy laugh, which was nice, but you couldn’t help the sadness form in your throat when you think of Jake. Even almost 15 years after his death, you still feel immense guilt and that you are the reason he was bit in the first place, protecting you. You always make the conscious effort to remember Jake - the sweet man who saved your life on countless different occasions, his olive brown skin, his crazy hair that he always said was his mop top. You smile when you think of him but also feel the wave of grief that will never die.
You glance over to the clock and see that it’s almost 6am and you need to head over to the stables for patrol briefings.
You straighten your back and take in a deep breath, ready to wipe away the memories of last night.
You lace up your boots and leave your house.
Walking into the blistering cold of the early morning, you head straight to the mess hall to grab some breakfast ahead of the patrol.
You spot Joel on the other side of the hall and don’t even look at him.
“Hi, Seth, could I possibly get a sandwich to go please?” you smile as you approach the bar.
“That’s not a very hearty breakfast, now, is it, JJ?” and he tilts his chin down at you.
“Ah yes, because we can get a 3-course meal at the end of the world.” you say sarcastically.
“Hey, you never know, I could have a Michelin-star chef back there!” he points towards the kitchen and you chuckle in response.
He heads into the kitchen to grab your sandwich for the morning.
Your eyes are subconsciously drifting in Joel’s direction - he’s eating breakfast alone, you can see the ruby mark on his cheek from where you punched him just 2 hours earlier. You can’t help but notice the long distance look in his eyes that is softening his features, his beautiful brown eyes and menacing stare into the distance. He notices you looking at him now and you quickly turn your head to look away. Shit.
As if on cue, Jessie walks into the bar and you greet him quickly, he gives you a ‘you look exhausted’ look. You scoff and turn back to face the bar.
“Okay, I’ll say it… you look like shit,” he says with a big grin on his face.
“Wow, thanks for all the compliments there! Tell me you have better pick up lines than that?”
He chuckles, “you don’t want to know my pickup lines, JJ, once you know them, I’ll become completely irresistible to you and then you’ll never leave me alone,”
You look at him with a fake look of shock, “I can assure you, Jessie, you’re not my type. Plus, you’re way too young to keep up with an old goat like me,” you whisper the last part just as Seth comes out of the kitchen with your sandwich.
You give him thanks and nudge Jessie’s shoulder to get a move on.
You both exit the mess hall and head over to the briefing room for today’s update on patrols.
You walk over to the notice board and check who you’re on patrol with. As you read down the list, you see that Jessie is patrolling with Eugene today.
You furrow your brows and keep going down the list.
You find your name and look at the name next to it, Joel Miller.
You’re furious and confused.
Why the hell would Tommy approve for you to go on a patrol with the man you punched 2 hours previous?!
Tommy walks into the briefing room and you pull him aside and give him a look of pure, furious rage.
“What the hell were you thinking putting me with Joel?” you say a little meaner than expected.
“I approved that patrol way before you and Joel decided to swing your weight around.”
“Well, can you change it? Please!” you beg.
“No, JJ, you know I can’t. Just grit your teeth and bare it. You never know, you might have a good patrol? He’s a good shot and you’re a good shot, you’ll both have each other’s backs.”
You whisper back to him, “Tommy… please.” you’re pleading with him now, begging him to change this shift.
“JJ, my answer is no. Now, suck it up and do your shift, it’ll be over before you know it.”
He gives you a quick pat on the shoulder and walks to the front of the room to prepare his speech for the morning. He tells the group that you and Joel are taking the creek trails and all you can think is great(!).
You hate the idea of going on patrol with Joel, despise it, but Tommy has already told you no so the answer is no… fuck this is going to be awkward.
The man you literally punched in the face, you are now expected to keep an eye on his six and ensure he doesn’t die, ensure that one more life isn’t added to the long list of names you have already collected. You head over to the stables to grab Shadow and you see Joel grabs his horse.
You can do this, JJ, it’s just one little patrol with Joel. The creek trails are easy, you’ve done this route 1000’s of times with Eugene and Jessie.
You head to the armoury and grab your shotgun, glancing a quick look at Joel, who has a look of brutality on his face, ready for the uncomfortable few hours ahead of you.
You leave the armoury and mount your horse, give Tommy a nod and begin on your route.
The ride out to the creek trails was silent, Joel not saying a single word to you.
Should I make conversation? Should I talk to him and ask how his face is? Should I ask him what he and Ellie got up to that made her lose the light behind her eyes?
But instead, you opt for a “So… where are you from?” you ask awkwardly.
“Texas.”
You knew it, the Texan accent was so strong in Joel. Tommy, not so much, he had little hints of it, and he also never really spoke about life pre-outbreak.
“And Ellie?” you look at him.
“She was born in a FEDRA school” he says shortly.
“Ah… shit then.”
He huffs at that, and you finally reach the outpost. You tie the horses to a pole and head into the big room.
This outpost was a radio tower pre-outbreak.
You head upstairs to the logbook and head straight for it, without noticing the runner in the room behind you and within seconds, it’s howling screams make all the hairs on the back of your neck stand on edge. Within the blink of an eye, he’s on top of you, trying everything within its power to turn you into one of them.
Your shotgun has been flung across the room during the tackle, completely out of reach and all you can do is scream, “Joel!” and with a blink of your eyes, the runner has a gaping hole in his head and collapses as dead weight on top of you.
You push the runner away and to your surprise, Joel holds his hand out to help you up. You take it, heaving yourself from the ground. He quickly whips his hand back away from you and you whisper your thanks to him in a barely audible tone.
“Watch what you’re doing, next time.”
And he’s back to being an asshole.
“Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Sherlock.” you roll your eyes and sigh.
“Who?” he looks at you confused.
You look at him confused, “Sherlock? Sherlock Holmes?”
He continues his confused look, “the master detective? From England? He solved loads of crimes with his sidekick, John Watson?”
He’s still confused, and he looks baffled.
“I haven’t got a damn clue what you’re going on about.” he says as he continues to look around and check there aren’t any more infected in the room, and you roll your eyes.
“Do you not read books?”
“You think I have time to read books at the end of the world?” he looks at you and you smile.
“I do.”
You both continue to check the outpost and you look around a little confused. He’s checking all the spots that are hidden and you sign the book, letting the next patrol know that you had an infected inside the tower.
“How the hell did that thing get in here?”you say to Joel, and he just shrugs - continuing his search for the opening where he could have got in. They are sneaky, the infected, they will literally crawl through anything and tear their skin off in the process. Joel points to a hole in the floor in the bathroom with drips of blood trailing from the hole, makes sense.
“Do you want me to hop down there and check there aren’t anymo-?” and before you can even finish your sentence, he’s already jumped down the hole to look.
You stand in place waiting for him to call out or hear the gun shots but nothing, radio silence. Joel reappears in the spot, and you kneel and hold your hand out. He takes it and grunts as you help him back up and out of the hole. His face is blushed pink, sweat beading slightly across his hairline. His hand is soft and warm in yours. You can feel his calloused fingers against your palm.
You finish up in the radio tower and head back out to the horses.
You give Joel a quick glance and say, “Thanks. For saving me up there.”  You mumble.
He nods, and you click at your horse to get him to begin his slow trot back. The ride back to Jackson was slow and quiet - no more signs of infected and no word from Joel.
When you arrive at the big wooden gates, they open quickly and Shadow trots inside the gates. You dismount Shadow and hold your hand out for Joel to give you Vegas’ reins, to which he complies and heads off home. You take Shadow and Vegas into the stables, and give them both an apple, and hand them over to the stable hand.
You walk back home but your stomach makes its presence known and screams that it’s hungry, so you walk into the mess hall. You spot Ellie, who is eating alone, which makes you a little bit sad that she hasn’t made any friends yet. You sigh and grab a plate to go and sit with her.
“Hey kid,” she drags her eyes away from her food to look at you and smiles.
“Hey… uh…” you can tell she’s forgotten your name so, to save her the embarrassment, you reiterate your name to her, “right yeah, JJ… sorry it’s been a long morning.”
You smile at her innocence and take a seat next to her, “Oh yeah? How so?”
“Oh, you know, trying to convince Maria that I can be more use to the town out on patrol rather than working in the shitty greenhouse.” she sighs. You chuckle slightly and smile at her.
“You know, I was exactly the same as you when I first arrived here, desperate to get out on patrol and prove my worth.” Her eyes begin to light up a little, so you decide to let her down gently. “But you have to prove you’re going to be smart out there first, before you can ever even think about heading out on patrol. It’s not just about keeping yourself safe, but also it’s keeping your patrolling partner safe too.”
She sighs and you shoot her a sympathetic smile and she says, “Yeah… I get that, but for weeks of travelling with Joel, I saved his life on more than one occasion, you know, and learnt so much from him. He’s a good teacher, you know.”
“I know,”
I don’t
“But that was out there, and you always had Joel as backup. Things are a little different in here. We have rules for a reason; rules that keep the people inside these walls safe and that then keep you safe on the outside.”
She nods, “How long? How long before I can go out?”
“As soon as you turn 18. Same rules apply for all the kids around here.”
She shoots you a harsh glance.
“I’m not a kid.”
You take a breath and give her a look of are you sure?
“You’re not a kid in your head, but on the outside, you are still only 15.”
She rolls her eyes at you and begins to stand up.
“Anyway, I’ve got to go now, because if you’re back that means Joel is too, and he gets nervous when he can’t see or hear me. Bye, JJ.” she says quickly, clearing her plate away and exits the hall.
You’re a little disappointed she left so soon because you were hoping to get to know her a little more, she seems like an interesting kid. Maybe she has hobbies and stories she could tell you about her life. Maybe she likes to read books, hopefully she does. You don’t know much about her thus far, but she seems like an interesting person that you’d be happy to get to know.
You’re pretty close with most the teenagers around Jackson, You and Jessie patrol frequently and Dina is a sweet girl, who likes to stop by your house at random times of the day to either moan about Jessie or working in the greenhouse with Kyle. Dina frequently expresses how much she hates working in the greenhouse so it’s no surprise that Ellie doesn’t like it either.
You continue eating and clear your plate and leave, heading straight home.
You hop in the shower as quickly as possible to soothe the ache in your knees and back.
You step out and look in the mirror and suddenly notice the ruby claw marks down your neck from the runner earlier on in the day and decide quickly you’re going to be taking a nap.
*              *              *
You’re woken up from your nap to a knock on the door.
You sigh and stand up a little too quick for your head to handle and drag your feet to the door. You open it slightly and peek your eyes through it. It’s Ellie.
“Hey kid?” you mumble, sleep still evident in your voice.
She’s shuffling awkwardly on your porch so you open your door fully, “can I come inside?” she squeaks.
You step aside, “Yeah, yeah of course,” and she walks into your house.
She stands in your living room, noticing how bare it is. It’s not very homely in here - just four walls and a couch. There aren’t any photos or art on the walls; neither are there any trinkets. You’ve found a few on your patrols that you liked but never really chose them to put in your home, because your home isn’t really a home to you. It’s just a place you shower and sleep.
“Are you alright?” you ask.
She shuffles in her place, and you can tell she really doesn’t know why she’s here. You wait for a moment and then say her name seemingly snapping out of her trance.
“Ellie?”
“Hmm? Oh yeah. I’m okay. I just… wanted to ask you a few questions,”
You look at her in confusion and begin to feel uncomfortable, but you press on, “okay… shoot.”
She sits on your couch, so you sit next to her, “Were you ever sold the lie? The lie that they wanted to save the world with a cure?”
Ah… okay we’re going there.
“Uh, yeah, I guess I was,” you sigh, “When I joined the Fireflies, they fed us all this lie that they had doctors working on a miracle cure, which when you’ve lived as long as I have, you become sceptical for a cure because you have heard it many of times over the years,” she nods along with you.
“But I continued on anyway because I was following Tommy and I wanted to remain at his side. I didn’t want to be alone”.
She blinks at you as you speak and then says, “when did you find out? That it was all shit?”
“Uhm, I guess a few months into the crusade. We were bombing QZs, and I was… doing stuff that I regret still to this day, and I realised in the end, that it was in for a cause I didn’t even believe in.”
“So why did you stay?”
You suck in a deep breath, “For Tommy. I couldn’t ruin it for him. He had friends there and he felt like he was finally doing some good in the world and I couldn’t ruin that for him, so I stayed.”
“Did you want too?... stay, I mean?”
“No. If I’m being honest with you and myself, I didn’t…I didn’t want to keep hurting people in the name of a cause I didn’t believe in. It wasn’t fair on them or me, why do you ask?”
She looks at you now, like she really wants to tell you something, but something is holding her back - something is screaming inside her head not to tell the truth.
“No reason… I just followed a cause I had my heart set on for a long time, like my life finally had a purpose. A purpose that Marlene promised me and then took away within seconds.”
You wince at the name. Marlene. She was the reason you have so much trauma. This nightmare of a life is all because of her - she ruined you mentally and physically in the name of the Fireflies and you let her.  She is the reason you can’t sleep at night. You hear her voice echoing in your mind on repeat: if you don’t get the information I need, I’ll leave you out there for the clickers, so you did as you were told.
“Well, I hate to break it to you, kid, but Marlene? Was a bit of a bitch.” she laughs at that and an idea pops into your head.
“Do you like to read?”
“Uh, comics I do. There’s this one called Savage Starlight and its’ my favourite. My friend I met while out there taught me how to sign the quote from it - endure and survive.”
Ellie proceeds to show you how to sign the phrase and her eyes beam with pride. You tell her how good she was and then show her that you can know ASL too, hello my name is JJ and it’s nice to meet you, Ellie.
She looks at you in awe and you teach her how to sign her name, she catches on pretty quickly and you see a little flame ignite in her mind like she’s finally regaining a small gift of her childhood back.
“Follow me,” you say standing up. You hold your hand out and she takes it.
She follows you up the stairs and you take her into the library of your home, the spare bedroom in fact. She’s surprised by how many books you have and asks how you got so many. You explain that when patrol find new books, they always bring them back for you - whether you’ve read them, or you haven’t. She notices the books are all just stacked in neat piles on the floor.
“Yeah, I need a bookcase for them but unfortunately they aren’t that easy to carry on horseback.”
She chuckles at that.
“Hey, Joel likes to make things out of wood, why don’t you ask him to make you one?” she says in passing. You don’t think she is aware of the events of last night.
“Uh, yeah, maybe one day, kid. If we ever get along.” you say sheepishly.
“I know he’s really hard to get along with at first, trust me I am fully aware of that. But he does warm up to you eventually… he did me anyway.”
“Yeah, maybe one day, kid.” you say and give her a weak smile.
You secretly hope for Tommy’s sake that you and Joel can at least learn to be civil with one another, even if were able to sit in the same room as each other, that would be enough.
You feel like you and Joel made a little progress on your patrol today - he saved your ass, which was a little annoying to you because the one person you never wanted to be in debt to is Joel-fucking-Miller.
You kneel under the desk, ignoring the creaking in your knees and pull a box out which is full of Savage Starlight editions. You found them on patrol over the years and saved them for if you ever felt like re-living your childhood, but you still never had the chance to read them.
“Holy shit! I can’t believe you have all these editions!” she looks at you and grins, the biggest toothy smile you’ve seen dances its way across the young girl’s face.
“They’re yours… if you want them that is.” you smile at her.
“No fucking way, dude, that’s too much! I can’t take these!” she says. You can tell she really wants to take them but doesn’t want to seem rude.
“Trust me, kid, I will never get the chance to read them. Take them and enjoy them please, I insist!” you hand her the box, and she thanks you again, jumping on the spot.
In the few weeks since you met Ellie, you haven’t seen her look so happy, so you feel a small sense of pride that you are the reason for that newly found smile. She very quickly makes her exit from your home, desperate to go home and read the comics you had just given her; you wave her goodbye and close your front door. You cannot help but smile once she’s gone. You just made that kids’ week and that brings a warm feeling in your chest, one that hasn’t been there in a very long time.
You head upstairs and grab your quilt and pillows and set up camp on your couch.
Making sure you have your rifle in reach and your knife under your pillow, you stare at your ceiling for a while but sleep washes over you quickly and you smile to yourself knowing that you’ve probably made that kids’ whole year.
When you open your eyes, you’re in a small room, filled with chairs and the faces of the many men, women, and children you have killed over the years.
You walk through the room, panic burrowing its’ way deep into your chest. As you’re walking through the room, the faces begin to turn towards you - their jaws are no longer attached to their faces. You continue walking through the room until there is a door.
You open the door and step inside.
The room is pitch black and you can’t see a thing, when suddenly, a lamp turns on at the other end of the room. You check your back to see if you have your pack, but you have nothing but the clothes you were wearing to sleep in, nothing to protect yourself, not even a fucking torch. Sucking in a deep breath, you continue to step carefully through this room that never ends.
Your leg bumps into something close to the lamp and you blindly feel around to try and make sense of what is happening. You feel something that resembles two shoulders and arms, but you can’t be sure, it’s so dark in here. You hear an ear-piercing scream, and all the lights suddenly flash on, and it takes you a second to adjust.
Looking down at the thing you were feeling, fear smacks you in the face when you see it’s one of the FEDRA soldiers you tortured and killed for information, Officer 3227.
He speaks now in a low menacing tone, “you did this to me” and all you can whisper is no… please I’m sorry.
“I had a family. Children, I needed to raise, and you took that away from me.”
“I had no choice… I had to. My mission was information. I was just following orders.”
“My daughter was raped. And killed. By raiders because of you.”
“I’m sorry…. Please I’m so sorry.” You can’t help the flow of hot tears streaming down your face now.
“You killed me… Mockingjay.”
The soldier begins to screech Mockingjay repeatedly and you back away, but hit a wall behind you, so you sink into the wall, placing your hands over your ears and you begin to scream.
Your eyes fly open, and you sit up quickly, still screaming and struggling to regain control of your breath.
Eventually you manage to stop screaming when you realise you’re safe in your own home.
Wiping the sweat from your brow, you swing your legs off the sofa to plant your feet on the hardwood floor. The coldness of the floor sends shivers through your spine. The cool shock of the floor seems to ground you a little more and you wipe the sleep from your eyes.
Looking over at your clock, you see it’s only 2am, so you stand up and walk over to your kitchen to grab a glass of water.
Thud thud thud.
A knock at the door distracts from that task; you sigh heavily and head to your front door.
It’s Tommy.
“Uh, hi, Miller, come in.” you look at him confused and step aside to let him inside your home. He walks in and takes a seat on the couch, and you sit next to him.
“JJ, are you alright?” he turns to you with his brows knitted together.
“Yeah, yeah I’m good.” Liar.
“JJ, I heard your screaming. That’s why I knocked! Did you have a nightmare again? I thought they stopped when we came here.”
He knows you’re lying, Tommy has always been able to tell when you are lying, he can read you like a book.
“No, Tommy, they never stopped. Who told you they did?” you ask confused.
“No one. I just assumed they did, because you didn’t speak about them anymore.”
“Speaking about them doesn’t make them go away, it just makes them real.” you say, obviously uncomfortable with this conversation.
“JJ… we’ve spoke about this, you can tell me anything, you know that right?”
“Yeah, I know.” you whisper.
“Well… as long as you’re okay,” Tommy begins to shuffle in place, sensing your uncomfortableness.
“I am fine, Tommy. Honestly. Anyway, what are you doing awake?”
“Oh, I just popped over to see how Joel and Ellie were settling in and it turned into an hours long session of Ellie sitting with me and showing me all the comics she’d recently acquired… from you,” he says with a smile on his face.
“Yeah, I had them tucked under my desk, in the spare room and they were collecting dust. Until Ellie popped round earlier and we had a long chat, so I decided to give her a little pick me up.” you say smiling, reliving the memory of her sweet little face when you handed her the comics.
“Ellie popped in?” he asks confused.
“Yeah, we spoke in the mess hall this morning about patrols,”
He chuckles.
“And then a few hours later, she’s knocking at my door, wanting to speak about the Fireflies.”
Tommy stiffens when you mention the Fireflies and you look at him confused.
“What?” you asked confused.
“What did she say about them? The Fireflies?” he asks stiffening his jaw slightly, just like Joel does.
You can see it now - how similar the brothers really are, they both have big brown eyes, long curly brown hair and stiffen their jaws when they nervous or angry. Tommy is a lot softer than Joel, he’s kinder and gentler when he speaks to you. Joel is rough, his face shows that he’s suffered a lot more loss in his life than Tommy has.
You look at him now, really confused as to where he’s going with this conversation.
“She asked me if I knew when I joined that they were a crusade of liars, she asked about Marlene too. If I knew who she was from the beginning or if she sold me a bunch of lies, just as much as they did you and why I stayed so long if I knew they were liars. She was very vague and didn’t want to tell me the real reason why she was asking me all these questions.”
“And what did you tell her?”
Why? What does Tommy know that I don’t? you ask yourself.
“I told her the truth. I stayed for you and that Marlene was a bitch.” He chuckles at you.
“That’s fair,” he laughs, “Right, I better get going, it’s pretty late and Maria’s probably worried about where I’ve got too.” He smacks his knees and begins to stand up. You walk him to the front door, and he steps outside.
“Okay well, goodnight, Tommy.”
He spins to face you, “Hey… you know you can talk to me whenever you want, right?”
“Yeah, I know.” you whisper.
“Goodnight, JJ.”
He nods his head once and leaves your porch, you watch him as he leaves the limp in his right leg from the mission that went wrong a few years back.
*              *              *
You were both scheduled to head out to a checkpoint when you were attacked by raiders on the way, you were both hit pretty bad by a trap mine that was set just ten clicks from where you needed to get too. You remember waking up from being knocked unconscious. You roll over and see Tommy is also out cold, but his leg is bleeding, shit. You crawl over to him as quickly as you can and try to shake him awake, begging him not to die on you.
You look down at your hands and see his blood.
You start to scan Tommy’s body for injury until you get to his leg and see shrapnel, from the vehicle you were in, dug deep into his leg, shit.
“Tommy!” you shake his shoulders, “Tommy, you have got to wake up! Come on, I’m not losing you, not today like this!” your breathing quickens, and you continue to shake him and beg him to wake up.
He sucks in a deep breath and begins to open his eyes. Thank God.
“Hey! You’re okay! We’ve been hit, your legs got some shrapnel in it, but I’m sure it’s nothing the doctors back at camp can’t fix.” He just nods at you, in too much pain to speak.
You manage to get him to sit up slowly, wrapping his arm over your shoulder you hoist him up and begin limping, looking for a place to hide. Scanning the terrain you’re trapped in, you manage to spot an old gas station and you - as quickly as Tommy will let you - haul his ass over there.
You drop your shotgun on the ground and carefully place Tommy behind the cash register.
“Just leave me…” he says through exasperated breaths.
You kneel in front of him and shake your head, “JJ, please. Leave me… I can’t let you die because of me…”
“And I can just let you die because of me?! You listen to me, Miller. We. Are. Getting out of this.” you say, looking around you making sure no one followed.
You’re clear for now.
“JJ, you’re way more important to the Fireflies than me.”
“No Tommy, don’t you dare go there! You’re way too important to me to just leave you here to die, not happening not on my watch. I mean it!” you say in a warning tone.
He looks at you again defeated; he knows you won’t back down from this.
You hear, from in front of you, just behind the cars, shit.
You need to think of an escape plan and quick.
There are two ways this can go - you can either do it with stealth, or just shoot and hope you don’t run out of bullets before they run out of guys.
You opt for the sneaking option, safer for you and Tommy if you ever want to make it out of this mess.
You tell Tommy the plan and he insist on helping, but you point-blank refuse. In his state, he will just get you killed and then he’s definitely screwed, we’re both going home today.
You slowly sneak out from behind the desk and hide behind a car, counting how many there are in your head. Three guys, average build, so should be pretty easy to take down. They have also decided to split up, which was a dumb move, because now it’s even easier for you to pick them off one by one.
You manage to snake through the cars easily, without a sound. You quickly sneak up behind one the guys and wait for the other one to look away and that is when you pounce, like a leopard in the wild. You drag him down to the ground and plant your knife into his throat. He chokes on his own blood for a few seconds, and you see the life drain out of his eyes. One down two to go.
You use the same method for the other guy; wait for him to look away, pounce, and kill. Silent and as easy as that.
The final guy proved to be a challenge - he must be the leader of the group because he is checking his six and looking around all at the same time. He’s also got a different build to the other two, a little more muscular so he may prove to be a challenge. Eventually you manage to get right behind him but in the last second, the ground betrays you. You hear a crunch of glass under your feet, fuck.
He wastes no time in lunging at you and you both topple to the ground, he drops his knife in the process and so do you.
So, all you have to fight with is your bare fists, great.
He’s a lot heavier than he looks and he bares all his weight down on your chest, you’re fighting with his arms ensuring he cannot get his hands on your throat. Throwing your whole weight into it. In between the fumbling around, he lands a few punches in, but so do you, so the odds are even right now.
You place your arm down on the ground, letting him get a few punches in while you feel around for your knife and that’s when he sees his moment and grabs it by the balls.
With both hands, he grabs your throat and begins to choke you.
All you can do now is use your fists to punch his hands to get them off you, but it does’t work, and he presses on your windpipe harder. You can feel yourself getting weaker as all the spare oxygen you had left is depleting and you begin seeing stars. Your vision is getting dark, and breathing is now completely impossible.
But just before you black out, you hear the familiar sound of a shot gun and the grip on your windpipe loosens. The guy falls to the ground with a thud, and you roll over choking and gasping, trying to grab as much oxygen as you possibly can just in case it runs out again.
You recognise the boots in front of you. Tommy is swaying over you and as you are about to stand up, he falls on his ass.
“Thank you… for saving my ass.” You choke out, voice hoarse, your throat feels like you’ve swallowed glass.
“S’alright, now can we please get back to base before I pass out?” Tommy asks and you chuckle standing up holding out your hand to help him back up from his seated position.
*              *              *
You snap back into the present day and realise you’re still stood on your doorstep.
You close the door and sit back on the couch with a heavy sigh.
That was the first of many times that Tommy had saved your life, or vice versa. Which is what quickly made you realise you worked well together, and you were sent out on missions together from there on in; apart from the information gathering ones. Tommy was not particularly good at the idea of torture, he preferred to feel like he was the hero of the story. You, on the other hand, knew you were the villain whose story never ends well; you figure that’s the reason why you aren’t scared of dying. Not anymore. You haven’t been for a very long time. You haven’t got anything to live for - Jake died years ago, and yes, you have tommy, but he has his own family now. He has something to fight for everyday - he returns home to warm bed and a woman to love him. You, on the other hand, come home to a cold bed and sleep that’s full of nightmares, which get worse during the dark. Which at the moment is constantly.
You can’t help but feel like you live your life in overdrive, running on an empty gas tank. Every day is the same; it’s like you live the same day repeatedly. Wake up, patrol, come home, eat, and sleep. Rinse and repeat every day.
So, you ask yourself, what do you even fight for anymore?

Gellow! I want to participate in your game :)
Send a minimum 4-picture moodboard / aesthetic / collage that resonates with you at the moment the most:
Tumblr media
State your astrological sign: Libra Sun 🌞 , Pisces ♓️ Moon 🌙, and Scorpio ♏️ rising.
State your name or nickname: Laura is okay :)
All your tarot decks are so pretty, though (likeThe Seed & Sickle Oracle Deck ) 😍 but any you feel like it would be great, I'm kinda curious abour a career one but tbh anything would be cool.
Thanks a lot 💜
To remember: Give feedback after receiving the reading!
Hello, Laura!
Thank you for participating in my little tarot game. And I must say that your collage is pretty impressive.
A little secret for you - when I ask for the moodboards, it’s to get some additional clues to work together with the cards. My approach to cartomancy is more psycho-analytical than magical so when people send me the pics, I can already deduct something from their choice.
I can already tell you are most likely a pretty organised and neat person with a love for symmetry and clean lines. 😂 Feel free to correct me. I can be wrong. Nobody’s perfect. 🙂
Okay! Sorry for the detour, let’s do your reading! I always include the cards pulled so if there’s any hidden message in them which is meant only for you to decipher, you will receive it.
Cards: 7. Cherry, 33. Dandelion (Seed & Sickle Oracle), 10 of Earth - Horsetail, Hija of Fira - California Poppy, Curandera of Water - Seaweed, Madre of Water - Oats (The Herbcrafter’s Tarot)
Tumblr media
Others might be still lazy and trapped in routine but it’s time for you to become productive and abundant. Start early and get ahead of others just like the cherry trees which bloom early and their fruits ripen before many others. You might be standing in front of an important choice. One path will keep you grounded and safe, one takes you up to the sky and maybe into directions you could never predict. It’s important for you to make the decision with both a conscious mind and your intuition and heart. You certainly have deep roots in your community and you are well cherished by them. On the other hand, you understand what self-love and self-care mean. Sometimes we are not meant to continue the legacy from the past rather start a new one ourselves and it’s important to decide this. You probably feel excited and full of eagerness now which is a good start. New ideas come to us for a reason but make sure to ground your dreams in reality so you can truly achieve your goals. Don’t try to bottle your feelings up as you are perfectly able to feel them through and process them. Before making important decisions, sit down, calm down and think what it is you want over a cup of tea or any beverage you like.
Thank you so much for requesting the reading!
I'm always grateful for any feedback.

Sunny Disposition: Deleted Scene
In the first draft, there was more back and forth between Finn and Naomi after he finally confessed to being her mod. They had a little fight but eventually made up and talked through the night which resulted in the accidental sleep over you’ll see below. This scene also mentions Picard who was Finn’s dog before I cut him from the story (which I kinda regret tbh because the dog’s interactions with Finn was pretty cute lol)
I’d been dreading this day all year, so I never expected I wake up with a smile.
Finn’s arms were still around me from when we first drifted off to sleep. His head rested in the crook of my neck. My arm was numb under his weight. I hadn’t felt this happy in a long time.
“Morning,” he murmured when I tried to slightly adjust myself without disturbing him.
“Morning,” I whispered back. “Did I wake you?”
Finn pulled away, flipping onto his back as he said, “No. I’ve been up for a few minutes.”
And he’d still been cuddling me? I covered my smile with the back of my hand, not wanting him to get too self-conscious over the matter.
Finn ran his fingers through his hair. His thick, dark locks stood wild in each direction. I propped myself up on my elbow to watch.
He looked up at me. “What?”
“Nothing.” I shook my head. “I just never thought I’d be in your bed.”
When I wiggled my brows, Finn chuckled. He reached for my hand and I froze under his warm touch. He pressed the back of it to his lips.
“You’re not in my bed,” he said between kisses. I gulped at how deep his voice sounded when it was muffled.
“Then what is this?” I whispered, gesturing to the tangled bedsheets.
“Well…my bed.” His cheeks burned when I laughed. “But you made it sound like we did something… eventful.”
I touched my chest, exaggerating my tone as I said, “You don’t think having a heart-to-heart eventful? Bore my soul to you, Finn Howard.”
“No, no, of course.” Finn pushed himself up on his elbow too. He looked so saddened by my pretend hurt feelings that I decided to give up the ruse in an instant.
“It was a joke,” I promised. “A bad one, I guess. I think we’re going to have to work together on finding a middle ground of humor. Something that doesn’t leave you panicked with the fear you've offended me."
“I wasn’t panicked,” Finn said even though the tension in his jaw visibly relaxed.
I laughed. “If you say so.”
“What are you doing today?” Finn still held onto my hand, holding it close to his chest now.
I studied how my fingers entwined with his. Like long legs, we had long fingers. We could line our hands perfectly. It was a tiny detail that sent butterflies through my stomach. I loved that we were the same size. Loved that I still felt safe in his arms while also keeping him safe in mine.
“Today is my mom’s birthday,” I murmured. “I usually go visit her.”
Finn’s expression softened. “I see…You haven’t brought her up in a while.”
I took a breath. It was going to take a minute for me to get used to the fact that Finn was MidQuest. He knew more of my secrets than anyone who walked the planet. When he looked at me, I felt like I might as well be naked. He’d seen so much of me and I was just now getting used to being next to him in the flesh.
Finn’s confession, still fresh in my brain, now felt so much more real. Some part of me wished it was him because if it hadn’t been, I would have had to choose between the two.
“I would like to go with you,” he said. “If you feel like having company, that is.”
“You’d voluntarily go to a cemetery?”
His fingers squeezed mine. “For you. Yes.”
“I might be emotional,” I warned.
“That’s fine.”
“This is kind of heavy. Especially this early in our…” Our what? Relationship? Friendship?
“I don’t care,” he said. “I like being around you, no matter the day.”
My heart swelled. I couldn’t say anything more than, “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me.” He shook his head. “Just tell me what time you need me to be ready.”
I wanted to wait until the sun got higher in the sky. The weather felt nasty cold as of late, so I’d wait for the maximum level of warmth.
We spent the majority of time waiting in his room with Picard. Finn left only once to get breakfast. When he did, I hurried to the bathroom to splash water on my face and gargle mouthwash.
My complexion looked warmer than usual. I pressed my hands to my cheeks, taking in the sight of me in Finn’s oversized t-shirt. It fit me nicely. I turned around, admiring how round my butt looked in his clothes, and then, felt a little sheepish for wondering if he thought the same.
The fantasy of us being together wasn’t so much of a fantasy anymore. A small part of me urged myself to not get too excited. He’d left me once, so I had to stay prepared in case that happened again.
That wasn’t entirely his fault, though, I willed myself to believe.
Finn’s accident and his memory changed things. I wanted to be there for him just like he seemed determined to support me. Hope burrowed in my chest, making my cheeks burn. I would let myself enjoy it. Even for a moment. A day. Because this feeling was comforting. I wasn’t alone anymore.
By the time I made it out of the bathroom, the house was coming back to life. I heard something sizzling in the frying pan downstairs and soft voices conversating in the kitchen. Henrik almost bumped into me in the hallway when he slipped out of his room.
“Sorry.” He smiled and pulled out one of his earbuds. His black hair was covered with a beanie. He wore a black athletic turtleneck and baggy sweats. He respectfully kept his eyes locked on mine as he said, “Good morning.”
“Morning.” I smiled, trying to not look like I was embarrassed about being pant-less.
“All good?” he asked, though his smile told me he knew the answer.
“Yeah, you?”
“Can't complain.” He winked and started down the hall. “Take care of our boy. He’s hard on the outside but all soft mush on the inside.”

Moon vs Wolf
Yandere Moon and Roxanne idea-
Android or original, doesn't matter in this
You're nothing special, just a janitor left for 11pm to 7am to clean messes others didn't have time for, or the S.T.A.F.F bots can't get to. Such as cleaning the pizza sauce off the ceiling that a kid somehow tossed hard enough to hit it in a tantrum. Or somehow having the patience to thoroughly clean Sun/Moon whenever working since everyone else was too creeped out by Moon or got too pissed off at Sun's nonstop energy to finish. The amount of dried types of glue and even sometimes boogers found on him is horrifying and sickeningly gross.
Moon's been getting more insistent on being around you throughout the nights. Like a dog, even starts to follow you everywhere when the lights go out. How he's able to find you everytime is quite strange.
He even starts leaning way too close whenever he's the one you're cleaning.
Sun KNOWS what Moon’s feeling, and what he’s doing. He knows it’s not normal, and wants to keep his new janitor friend safe!
You still have no idea why whenever it’s Sun, he’s being even more adamant on keeping the lights on, trying to get you to leave the daycare before the lights temporarily cut, how he’s even willing to help clean up with the chemicals though he’s not supposed to even touch them.
Moon eventually still takes over and has enough of Sun’s meddling, and ends up pinning you to hug you too tightly. He starts doing it so often it’s affecting your work. Now you see why Sun’s so adamant, and try to temporarily hide whenever Moon’s out. It doesn’t always work, and even when it does, it still takes time out of what you need to do.
Roxanne notices and Isn’t happy at all with whatever is taking you longer to come fix her hair whenever you’re working. You usually spend at least half an hour slowly getting stuff out of her hair to keep it full and pretty. Some kids find it funny to stick gum in it, or that kid who tripped and their cup of soda opened, spilling it all over her back and hair. That sticky mess felt like it took ages to fix. You even sneak in some conditioner and water in a spray bottle to keep it more smooth and shiny than ever before. The higher-ups have noticed though. But hey, it’s not really affecting their sales. If anything, it might be rising them, and it’s not coming out of their pockets, so they honestly don’t really care. Roxanne though, she does. She fucking loves it. And hates to admit it, but you as well for it. By far her favorite human, and sometimes won’t even let other human staff try to clean her when it isn’t you.
Though the higher-ups like that you keep the place pretty clean and it surprisingly helps the sales a lot, they’ve noticed the lacking as of lately, and have informed you they may have to fire you if it keeps up. It was especially close for you being fired last time when you couldn’t clean out whatever Chica got into, and people smelled the next day.  It wasn’t kept a secret either as a human staff member heard ad told a lot of the others. They were actually kind of worried since you do a lot of the stuff no one else wanted to do.
This night you decided to change things up and have Sun/Moon be the very last thing to do. You’re near Roxanne’s room when you hear the familiar sound of Moon in the distance. You quickly enter Roxanne’s room with the cleaning supplies and the spray bottle.
“You’re here early.” She pipes up, but definitely doesn’t seem angry about it.
You sigh heavily. “Yeah, I wanted to try a different schedule to throw off Moon. He’s becoming a major pain, and if he stops me from finishing everything I need to do again, I most likely will be fired.”
“What?” she snaps in a really dark tone. You ignore it and start scanning over her. Luckily, this week seems to have been pretty easy, or she let another human clean her. Doubtful though.
“I don’t know what his deal is, but he’s the reason I kept ending up late here. Thought switching it around would help, but he’s already out searching for me. Sun knows and tries his best, but the lights are a massive problem.” You bring out the spray bottle and she passes me her brush. Carefully running hands through to find any possible gum first, there isn’t any. You spray and carefully start going from the bottom and the tips up.
“Really starting to wish he wasn’t a security part. You think with guards working that wouldn’t be a thing. Wishing they were locked in the daycare at this point, because he seems too focused on me to search for threats.”
“Ugh, that little... If he ever makes you late again, I’m going to hunt him down and destroy him myself!”
There was one pretty stubborn knot you stumble into. Placing the brush down on the dressing table, You try to work it out with my fingers. Your body freezes as a thump on glass is heard from behind. You peak over Roxanne’s shoulder to see Moon’s creepy glowing face planted against the glass, peering into the room.
You take my hand out and grab the spray bottle again. maybe a bit more would help ease this darn knot out. “Ugh, damn it Moon. can’t you leave me alone ONCE?”
Her head whips around as fast as lightning and she glares at him with a snarl. She gets out of the chair and starts heading for the door, which is still unlocked because she never tried to leave before.
Shit, this is going to go badly...

The ‘fun’ of Haunted Houses
Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo go through some haunted houses but Tubbo leaves still a lil bit shaken so Tommy and the Ranman help him calm down and enjoy the rest of the night together.
TW: Tubbo have a panic attack, people screaming and yelling. If you are uncomfortable with any of this don’t read it! You can just continue scrolling. Gets very soft after!
Also sorry if this eh cus this is the first fic I’ve every written, but I enjoyed writing it.
….
Ranboo was sitting on the sofa looking through some theme parks so Bench trio could have some fun this Spooky month.
“Hey Tommy! Tubbo! C’mere I wanna show you guys something!”
The two boys walk in, “what is it Boo?”
“Would you guys like to go to a theme park and check out some rides and haunted houses with me?”
Tommy and Tubbo stare at each other having a silent conversation before agreeing to go.
“Awesome! Ok we can leave in an hour or so if you guys want?” “Yea, that’s fine.”
An hour or so later, they arrived at the theme park. The trio decided to look around first since they had gotten there a bit early before performers were released. They looked through some gift shops, getting stuff for eachother and their other friends some souvenirs.
Once all of them were done looking they decided to go on a few rides and then maybe get a bite to eat.
The first few roller coasters were awesome! They went on a roller coaster with big drops, some had loop-de-loops, it was great! Except for a certain coaster that turns you upside down, Ranboo noped out on that one.
Once the clock hit 7 PM, the performers were let out.
This is where Tubbo started to panic.
Tubbo wasn’t too fond of scariness. So this wasn’t the best experience for him.
People were walking around with really detailed gore makeup, people who were zombies, creepy looking doll people, everything! And all of them were giving him a bad feeling.
While the three were walking back from a gift shop, a performer popped out of nowhere in front of Tubbo causing him to yell.
“AHH!!” He screamed, jumping back into Ranboo and Tommy. “Fucking hell man! Where the fuck did he come from?!”
“Are you ok Tubbo? You reacted pretty violent?”
“Yea Tubs, we can go back home if you’d like?” The two tall teens responded.
“Uhm, yeah, I wanna go back home” “Ok. Come on Tubs, let’s go home.”
His breathing picked up while they walked and felt two hands on his back soothing him. Tubbo hugged himself onto Tommy and Ranboo and they happily accepted the hug back, using themselves as shields for their Bee Boy.
Once they got home safely, after the many failed attempts at trying to scare Tubbo while leaving the theme park, Tommy sat Tubbo down on the sofa after giving him a piggyback ride half way on the way home.
“Stay here, I’ll go make us some Hot Chocolate, ok?” And he walks away into the kitchen while Ranboo is gathering all the blankets and pillows they could find to create a pillow fort on their sofa and Tubbo can choose what movie they were going to watch for that night.
Ranboo started creating a sort of canopy that was looking pretty well and Tubbo was putting on “Oliver and Company”. Tommy walks in a few minutes later with three mugs of Hot Chocolate, Tubbo’s having extra marshmallows, as he hands them out.
“So what did you choose Tubs?” “Oliver and Company” “Oh alright, I wanna see Billy Joel sing as a dog”
About almost half away through the movie, Tubbo was still a little uneasy and didn’t go unseen by both his best friends.
“Hey Tubbo?” “Yea bossman?” “Well, you still seem a little uneasy and we were wondering if you’d like a distraction?”
Tubbo froze and his face turned a light pink.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want it! We were just wanting to make you feel better after today.” The tall blonde quickly reassured.
“Umm, no it’s fine Toms, I don’t mind it”
The two tall teenagers sat on both sides of Tubbo and got in a position where all three of them were cuddling each other.
The movie continued playing in the background when he starts feeling a soft motion on his sides.
“This ok Tubs?” “Y-yeah, i-ihihits ahalrihihight”
The movie is slowly drowned out by Tubbo’s quite giggling. Ranboo calmly raises his hand onto Tubbo’s tummy and starts to lightly trace and pinch.
“R-rahanbohohoo! th-thahahat tihihihckles!” “Sorry bud, gotta make sure all the scariness is gone”
Tommy took this as an invitation to tuck his face into the older’s neck, letting his soft hair flutter while blowing small raspberries.
“HehehEY! Tohohohoms! quihihihiht ihihit!“ “but-you’re-so-adorable!” The blonde responds, blowing a raspberry after every word.
Tubbo all of a sudden shrieks causing Tommy to stop for a second before realizing what happened. “NOHOHOOHOHOHO! RAHAHAHANBOHOHOHO NOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHERE!” Ranboo had leaned down to lightly nibble on bee boys tummy.
“Alright Boo, slow down a bit there. We don’t want to deal with a dead bee boi on our hands” Both Ranboo and Tommy slow down to stop, seeing as Tubbo’s laughter was becoming slightly strained.
After Tubbo’s giggle fit, he starts to sleepily cling to both his bestfriends and relished in their comfort.
“Do you want us to continue Tubs? Or do you just wanna cuddle?” Tubbo was to tired and comfy to think but shyly hid his face in his blanket and responds. “C-can wehe do both?” “Of course!” The dirty blond happily responds.
The three readjust themselves, making sure they are all comfortable, as Tommy grabs Tubbo’s hands and starts tracing shapes while Ranboo does the same to his tummy.
“Goodnight Toby, we love you” is the last thing he hears as he drifted off into sleep, wondering where he would be with these two knuckleheads.
The next morning, he awakens to the sun shining in his face, blinding him slightly but once he looks to his left and right, a smile is brought back to his face as he sees Tommy and Ranboo cuddled up on his sides snoring quietly.
