Here’s a series of board games I’ve made recently.

Astro Asterid’s Quick Shuttle Repair

Derelict ships in space need to be fixed quickly, so they call on Astro Asterid to repair them! Carry resources through the halls of various ships to repair systems that have crashed. The more resources you carry, the slower you move, and the more likely more systems will go offline! Move quickly but strategically to repair all the systems before time runs out!

Treasure by Torchlight

A single player dungeon crawling role playing game featuring cute little mammal characters in a fantasy setting. Journey through dungeons collecting treasure and defeating monsters to level up your character so you can take on the final boss! But be careful, with every step you take your torchlight grows dimmer. Keep that torch lit as you explore randomly generated dungeons!

Treasure by Torchlight: Bite Size

This is a mint-tin version of the same game. This “bite size” version contains everything the full size game does. An enormous game in a tiny package!

Noah’s Ark

A very simple mint-tin game for young players. Move down the landscape collecting animals and bringing them one by one back to the ark. But hurry up! The flood waters are rising! Count up points at the end of the game and see if you got a high score!

The Longest Week

In the middle of a zombie apocalypse you manage to find shelter and call for help. However, help won’t arrive for 7 days. During the day scavenge for weapons, farm for food, or gather resources to strengthen your gate because when night falls the zombie horde attacks! As the days progress the horde outside grows larger and stronger. Can you survive the week and be rescued?

Treasure saga

Retro role-playing game about to walk in dungeons. With simple automatic level up. And a big part of storytelling, in a form of text screens between levels. Become a searcher for adventures. And collect all useful items as gold, sapphires, and all other valuable stuff from dungeons. And also receive lots of experience.

You are suggested to choose who will you be. Two classes at your choice. Warrior or magician. Warrior is good with sword. And magician is good with spells. Everyone will find lots of interesting for him in this dungeon. New spells and a new sword. It is very good to go for every adventurer.

Classes are playable equal way.

In dungeon you can find lots of treasures. Such as gold, sapphires. And, in some way, it is a game about scores. For all useful steps you are acquiring scores. Collect gold. You receive gold and scores. Destroy monster and gain scores. And aim in being in dungeon – as a rule for adventurer – it is gold and all other sapphires and gems. There are lots of them. So, walk by dungeon and collect all of them.

As soon as game field has a treasure. It will be automatically added to you in a counter of collected.

Also, a valuable part of the game – it is plot, story. Story is in a text screens. Text is made in fantasy direction. Here as ideas it was taken idea of fairytale fantasy, fantasy. It can be something like Dungeons and Dragons. Once again, games like Might And Magic, Eye of the Beholder, Bards Tale. Something like that. But all the story mainly goes to describe floors of dungeon. Every floor of the dungeon – it is just like a standalone world. With its own theme. And it is fantasy, by the way. Whole pages with text. Somewhere it is about two pages for a level. Somewhere it is page or one page of text. 10 floors of labyrinth. Plus introduction and game final. It is about even more text there.

Sword or fireball?

You will have a meet with fantasy creatures. And another adventurers. It is about to fight with them. As a part of idea of a classical dungeon explore.

It is rat, big rat, zombie, evil gnome, gnome hunter, lord vampire, skeleton, ghost, dark lord, nosferatu, dead knight, mad eye, moon lord, gremlin, ogre master, Pegasus, rust warlord, giant viking, dragon, bird of prey.

4 types of useful items for search. They are gold, sapphires, crystals, gems.

And also, it is going score counter. For items you find and battles with monsters.

You are making updates though levels. You are upgrading your character with each new level dungeon. Floors of dungeons are full of useful items. And you are as a adventurer should be very interesting into it.

It is labyrinth made random way. Every labyrinth has exit. At every labyrinth you will find a new weapon. As for warrior, as for magician.

You will find a sword, axe of fire, energetical morning star, sword of barbarians kings, mythical claymore for undead.

You will gain powerful meteor, deadly spell, ice stone, tongue of fire, energy lighting.

Weapons and spells. All of these you are for sure will find in a floor of dungeon.

Basic Pascal pack - whole pack of games and programes, written with basic and pascal. It is retro. With each game and program there is a page at author`s website. There are aditional information, descriptions, pictures, arts.

I really enjoy making games, but the biggest problem I keep encountering is price. It is VERY hard to keep the price down for your own games. Sometimes just adding a box will increase the price of your game by $10! When you’re trying to keep the price down for the customer that extra $10 can be a dealbreaker.

This is why I like Mint-Tins. They’re small. They’re portable. And they force you to think outside the box and come up with creative ways to tell your story with a fixed number of components and pieces.

The trade off, however, comes at the cost of clarity in the playing field. Playfields are important in board game design because they take your abstract concepts and give them shape and meaning. They create order for your rules and help facilitate the ease of your gameplay experience.

Take my Treasure by Torchlight game for example. I decided to try and make a cheaper alternative to the full game by condensing it all into a mint-tin. And look what happened to the playfield in the process. I had to break it up into multiple cards that not only take up space in the mint-tin, but can sometimes result in the pieces of the playfield not being very orderly.

That’s why I’ve been trying to find alternative ways to fit a larger playfield into a mint-tin. I noticed that The Game Crafter has a variety of folding mats which are relatively cheap components to print and cut up. But unfortunately they didn’t have any that folded up to fit in a mint-tin.

But they DO allow you to make your own custom cut cardstock mats!

So I made my own!

I made a variety of mint-tin card sized mats that all fold on perforated edges. My largest mat is 9.5x6 inches large! For a game that fits in such a compact container, every inch of space is invaluable!

I experimented with the card shaped one for my Zombie game and I think it worked out really well! So now I’m working on making a game that takes advantage of the even larger mat. I hope to have details about it in a little bit, but for now here’s a little preview of what it looks like!

I love how much constrained restrictions force you to think outside the box! I never would have thought to make these custom cut mats if it weren’t for my attempt to try and fit my large game into a Mint-Tin!

(Incidentally I sell the cut files on my page for anyone to use in their own games! Go nuts!)

Acedia's suits!!!

if Acedia was in a video game, you'd have quite a decent selection to choose from for a new cosmetic to play with!

Some suits have a bonus feature/ability that can aid in battles, while the rest are merely aesthetic. A few may even be beneficial during story moments.

small descriptions of all of them:

Default: Amazing Fantasy #15: The Cryptid Crawler 1962. A beautiful 2 piece suit that Acedia and Doc Ock designed and crafted together as a thank you to her for saving his life.

50% Matcha: Symbiote/"Black" suit. When Matcha was born, it grew attached to and bonded with Acedia without her knowledge, causing her to act out without her usual anxiety, becoming a little more bubbly and bouncy. Her suit got visual overhaul when Matcha made itself known. It was only when Matcha finally detached from her that Acedia was hit with a wave of realization, embarrassment and regret to the things she did. (Boosts attack and speed)

"Big Time": Who doesn't love a nice black with neon suit? It almost gives off a futuristic vibe. (cosmetic)

Homemade: Before she became 'Acedia' she lurked around in her beloved sloth onesie and matching slippers to stop a few petty crimes despite her better judgement. (cosmetic)

2099: In the far off distant future, the Daily Bugle is torn between calling the Cryptid Crawler the 'New York Jersey Devil' or 'New York's very own El Chupacabra'. After so many years, they still aren't very bright on creature identification, as noted by 'The Lizard' being an Axolotl. (Boosted stealth & speed)

"Web-Man": Bizarro Acedia?? Something is off about this Sloth-Woman. Yet JJJ still thinks it's Acedia, albeit with a new change of clothes.. that are just a color swap. (cosmetic)

Cryptic Mystic (Mysty Dreamer + Bubble Sloth): A little gift from her beloved Mysterio made in his image. When couples wear matching clothes. (Boosts Stealth + releases smoke from palms of claws) (other 2 are souvenirs from hopping the multiverse to her friend's worlds)

Insulated: When getting shocked one too many times, Acedia got this suit made to help protect herself against Electra the next time they fought so she could help to deescalate things more safely. (stores charges of electricity from Electra's attacks and is able to release small bursts to temporarily stun enemies + boosted attack & defense)

Doc Ock: A suit devised by Otto to aid Acedia in getting closer to him safer to help stop him when his inhibitor is damaged and he is sent into a frenzy. The two actuators that hang behind her can are fully functional. (boosted stealth & attack)

Zombie: What if..? Mysterio had been scratched during an unforeseen attack by a zombie, keeping it a secret from Acedia so she wouldn't worry as they found a place to hide. It was only a matter of time before the infection kicked in and his bit her, causing her to change alongside him. (cosmetic)

Negative: A special suit crafted to counter Miss Negative's energy powers and be able to take her out. (effective only against Miss Negative, otherwise cosmetic)

Harvest: Perhaps in another life Acedia was more on brand to the whole 'Spider' thing. (boosted speed)

Captain Universe: Temporarily Acedia was chosen by the Enigma Force while the current holder at the time was unable to perform their duties, being taken out of commission by some outside greater power. (boosted attack)

Mysteria: In the future of The Fantastic Spider-Man, Mysterio has a brand new partner in crime. Mysteria was a loyal and dedicated fan who idolized Mysterio so much she became deluded, seeing Spider-Man as the villain and Mysterio as the hero. She now works by his side and often faces and fumbles against Spider-Girl as Spider-Man enters retirement. (can create an illusory duplicate to distract foes for a quick getaway, duplicate fades after a short bit of time)

Love Bug: A lovely little albino sloth here to spread love and joy to everyone and be your friend! :) (cosmetic)

Friends Forever: A suit made from friends across the multiverse coming together to show their everlasting bond with one another through the shared hardships they've all faced together. Wearing this feels like a group hug. (boosted defense)

•Terrified. Undoubtedly. Terrified. But! Would do remarkably well! He’d dig a hole somewhere and call it home.

•he’s a big man so food is an issue. But he manages.

•would have constant adrenaline if he has a s/o. He wants to protect you and keep you safe. If you die, especially if it’s because of him, he’ll…. He’ll walk unarmed into a swarm of zombies and fight them with his bare hands. Once he is inevitably turned, his body will wreak havoc while his mind is finally put to rest.

Michael Og

•lil man would be fine. He’d pick a house to make a base in and board it up.

•if the zombies are drawn to noise he’ll be totally okay. Dude doesn’t speak and is so quiet walking around. There’s no way he’d gain their attention…. Unless his unbathed stench brought them…

•I think he’d kill a bunch of zombies…. and eat them. Therefore turning into one. Unlike someone else on this list, he wasn’t trying to fuck around, he just needed food and went nom nom.

Jason

•Now this one’s interesting! Are we talking about zombie Jason? Or living?

•Zombie Jason is a fucking unit and would turn the most people. The only drawback is he kills extremely violently, he rips his victims apart, aka he makes a lot of crawlers or immobile zombinos.

•Living Jason I think would get very overwhelmed. He’d use his machete and or some sort of long ranged weapon that isn’t a gun.

•He’d do well for a long time, but Pamela would call to him from the other side, but only if he was alone or if y/n had been infected/died. He’d cradle his mom's head and possibly his s/o or a belonging of theirs and bury himself in the earth.

Hewitt Family

•Thomas goes into sheer panic. But less panic when he remembers how far from civilization they live.

•Thomas, Hoyt, and Monty if it’s before that even cut Thomas gave him will work together to make huge scrap metal and wood walls on the perimeter of their property.

•Luda Mae goes up into the attic to find scraps of cloth, old guns, and other helpful stuff. She’ll be handling the house and cooking as she normally does, while Thomas, Hoyt and again, maybe Monty, will patrol the perimeter.

•The tea lady moves into the Hewitt estate, and Henrietta brings her trailer into the encased property.

•they’re very stressed about how they’ll be able to provide food for everyone. They’ll turn one or more of the fields into crop land. Luda Mae, Thomas, Monty, and Henrietta will work the fields as well. Not Hoyt. Never Hoyt. I think he’s worried about breaking a nail.

•Long story short, I think they’ll do very well for themselves.

Sawyer Family (-choptop)

•Almost a complete disaster. Nubbins has a zombie chained up outside, he’s been calling it his gross dog. Drayton and Bubba tried to build a wall around the house, but couldn't do it by themselves. Bubbas panicking because they’ll have to eat his pet chicken. Drayton is taking his stress out on everyone. Grandpa is god knows where, no one’s remembered to check on him.

•Yeah they don’t make it.

Freddy

•he would either do amazing or instantly get turned, no in between.

•I think he’d bite a zombie- “how ya like that bitch” and then turn…. Like an idiot.

•Undead Freddy is far more nightmarish than living Freddy. Yuck!

•or on the other hand would kick some undead ass.

•his powers wouldn’t really help him? If my memory serves me well, the more people fear him, the more power he has. Zombies can’t feel fear, there’s only one thing they think about nom nom. Hence he’d have to use his claws or another weapon.

Yautja

•100% fine. Out of all of the boys, he’s good. Like- he’s going to be completely fine. Bruh doesn’t even live on this planet.

•He’ll make sure there’s not a scratch on his s/o, and gods forbid you get infected he can easily cure you with yautja technology.

•they can’t infect him, cus he’s, ya know, a fucking alien. So even if they do bite him, he’ll just be more pissed off then anything.

•He’s not worried about it, he can hop in his ship and just leave. Depending on your mate, he might let you bring family or close friends with you both. He’s not going to be happy about it. But he’ll allow it. Will also allow pets…..hesitantly….
