Deep in my mind
Even my inner critic is still a mystic
You're unrefined
Raw and uncut like the prisms
Bending time to time
Mirrors break
They multiply
Fuck what they say
These feelings don't subside
Obsessions fade
Over time
But what remains
Love is whatever we make it tonight
Did they mention the pride before the fall?
'Cause I would risk it all for you
What they say 'bout the writings on the wall?
No clue, baby, I adore you
An adult male gelada, also called the gelada baboon or the "bleeding-heart" monkey, poses along a ridge in the Simien Mountains National Park, Ethiopia. Researchers are studying how this species has adapted to the high-altitude – between 6,000 and 14,000-plus feet above sea level – where they live.

Here is a Gelada - also known as the Bleeding-heart Monkey - as requested by @prototypelq ^^
These guys have fabulous hair - like the mane of a lion - and long fur that practically forms a cape on their shoulders. They look super cool and I'm extra happy when I get to draw an animal that doesn't appear a lot in art or isn't well known. :D
It's a mini-ref of my fursona...! I'm still unhappy with it cause I want to include details like showing his lip-flip and him in his apron and spacesuit but... but im lazy af idgaf this is all the energy my depressed brain can muster dsbdfbfbf
hello! I love your blog and it’s become especially relevant to me as I’m about to start research on social behaviors of geladas and their hormones. I’ll just be working in the lab with fecal samples, but I was wondering if you had any fun facts about geladas or any experience working with them? From the little I know already they seem very interesting!
Very cool! I think my favourite thing about geladas is how they are the only surviving member of their genus! Theropithecus once included many primates that are now extinct, leaving geladas in a league of their own.
An unexpected feature of the gelada is that they have the most opposable fingers and thumbs of the primates! Their short, stubby, dexterous fingers are perfect for digging and picking throught blades of grass for the best snacks of the ground.
Cool Facts- The gelada is a cousin to the baboon but significantly bigger. Living at high elevations, grasses make up 90 percent of their diet. Males are known for their red skin on their throat and chest that is used to attract females. Geladas live in tightly knit groups of hundreds of members. Females have extremely close relationships with other females and their offspring, often grooming and sleeping together. The more aggressive males will fight for the right to mate with a group of females. Females will often grow attached to certain males and will help him fight off any rivals.
