Game Continue! The Seven Lords: Rashōmon

Anonymous asked: Oh my god, I LOVED how you wrote an MC with Atsushis ability and was wondering if you could do an Akutagawa like MC? Or maybe a Dazai MC as I've always wondered how they'd handle someone like either of them considering there depth as characters and they were my absolute favorites. Aku deserved better-

The Mafia's Hellhound. (Part 2) (Obey Me! Younger Brothers x Akutagawa Ryūnosuke(BSD)-like! Gn! Mc/Reader)

Content Warnings: Since this character is from the same series as Atsushi Nakajima, I'm gonna put the same first bit of warning here. Bungou Stray Dogs is a series that contains characters based on real life authors, with each individual character having an ability based on a book by their namesake author. There is also a character in the series who is Sui///cidal and it is somewhat treated more light-hearted than how it is usually treated in media, and though it is explained later as to why I don't recommend anyone who is put off or upset by that type of content to watch it. Akutagawa is not this character, but this character does have a heavy impact on him. To those who are interested in the original concept as a whole, I'd definitely recommend watching up to Episode 3 first since that is the first appearance of Aku in the anime. This will have light spoilers for Seasons 1-3 as well throughout, so if you do end up really liking the anime and don't want the slightest bit of spoilers you should finish it first. The majority of spoilers lie in Aku's overall personality, but if you've seen Bungou Stray Dogs: Wan! it is not too dissimilar. There will be mentions of blood, injury, and general violence, as well as spoilers for Chapter 16-20 of Obey Me. Don't blame me, blame Belphie. And again, there will be angst. Not just because angst is my chicken soup for the soul, but that this character is very angsty.

(Takes place in between the Cannibalism Arc and Kamui Revelation Arc, which I assume Wan! is also set in. I went with this specific version of Aku because it's where the anime has left off at, and I personally believe anime watchers are more widespread than manga readers most of the time. I'll be doing my best not to accidentally water down his personality though, as even at that point in the story Aku still has quite the inferiority complex, violent tendencies, and other such issues.)

Satan:

How peculiar you are for a human... You say you know nothing of magic and yet you possess the ability to create what seems to be a shadow beast of dark matter. An Ability? Hmm... Humans have become quite the intriguing specimens nowadays, such unique adaptations certainly have peaked his interest. Fancy talk and wannabe novelist dialogue from Satan out of the way, the only real interest the Avatar of Wrath takes in you is your ability and its properties. Unless he's busy with his own academic pursuits or setting up pranks to pull on Lucifer, before you form a pact with him it may be in your best interest to avoid him or not be caught alone without one of the brothers you do have a pact with there. 'Lest you become a sort of test subject. Of course you're welcome to fight against this position to your heart's content, but the more you avoid it the more he becomes interested in studying you. Seeing as the demon brothers are much stronger than you and your ability, it leaves you with little choice other than stealthily avoiding certain confrontations or begrudgingly submitting and going along with their plans.

Momentarily he reminds you of your mentor in the days that he does catch you in a position to pull you away for an hour or two. Not exactly for the way he treats you, since he hadn't outright attacked or beat you verbally or physically, but rather in his demands to push your limits for his own interests. Satan is much more preoccupied in analyzing just how strong in offense and defense your Ability is, either not noticing or just not caring when choking coughs rack your lungs and scarlet droplets coat your palm. Prior to a bit before the formation of the pact between you two, the Avatar of Wrath cares very little for you or your wellbeing. So, should you live or die, it didn't use to matter to him. All he desired before then was to satisfy his curiosities.

And now... the same demon who could really care less about you was tightly wrapped around your little finger. Oh well, that just makes for all the more teasing that his brothers can inflict on him when they're feeling particularly rowdy. Worried about them overusing Rashōmon and wearing themselves out, Satan? Didn't you just say last week that you couldn't care less about them and how you would never be so deeply involved with a human like the rest of us? Haha gottem!... Oh shit run run run

Rather than being mostly interested by your ability now, Satan finds a new interest in your life in the Human World instead. Sure, some of the questions do revolve around what you know about other individuals you've worked with or fought against and their own abilities,, but most of them are about your own personal experiences. He listens intently when you're finally comfortable enough with to speak about your childhood with him and your own version of hell that came from growing up in the Slums and becoming a high ranking member of the Port Mafia. You're about halfway through your explanation of your old mentor's effects on you when you notice he's been writing down all of this, hey wait a minute. Why does this paper say "Information Regarding Trauma for Therapist".... where are you running off to now Satan, I thought we were going to talk?

At times Satan has tried to encourage you to branch out a bit more in your fashion style, cause you look a bit too much like Luci, but one comment on his own fashion sense and he's lost the argument. Once you did decide to humor him somewhat and tried on a pair of his clothes, but he didn't exactly get the point you were trying to make an let you keep that set of clothing. He has enough green sweaters, weird belts, black undershirts, and unique blue jackets to share at least one full set with you. At most you might just wear the sweater under your overcoat or the blue jacket over a dress shirt, but he feels a fuzzy feeling whenever he see's you out and about wearing a piece of his clothes. Should one of the brothers see you in his apparel, especially if you're wearing the jacket in the same way Satan does all the time, at the end of the day you'll likely end up with a whole new wardrobe formed completely out of borrowed clothing from the brothers. Thank goodness Rashōmon isn't confined solely to your jacket and can be created out of any clothing item you're wearing.

Something about you that Satan can't help but relate to is your short temper and somewhat hot-headed nature despite being such a serious person. In the beginning your short fits of rage and pessimistic ideals are just a minor inconvenience and annoyance, but now that he's found respect and care for you he has a strong desire to help you manage your issues, similar to how his brothers had helped him control his sin. Satan's help alone isn't truly enough to truly begin to heal the wounds that have been so deeply engraved into your very being, that's what the therapist is for, but you find yourself growing more and more calm as the days go by now. Though you can still get angry or aggressive at times, there is a noticeable reduction in your more violent tendencies. Mammon does get a little grouchy with Satan for this, but it's more in the tsundere way. He's just jealous since Mams had been the one gradually helping you with your anger issues, so don't take his complaints too seriously.

Out of all the brothers, Satan is your best bet in terms of being your tutor. It takes a bit for him to properly adjust the speed of his teaching methods, but once he's gotten into the swing of things it's only up from there. In the beginning he can get a little easily frustrated by your lack of understanding in some subjects, but over time he does grow more patient with you. While you may frustrate him sometimes, he ensures that he doesn't take it out on you and opts instead to take a calming walk before returning back to the subject when it becomes too much for the both of you. Satan can also sense when you're getting upset or angry over time through the pact, so he'll make sure that you get optimal breaks in general and while studying.

When his brothers had proposed their little scheme to get you and Lucifer to bond a little with each other, it was the same day that the two of you were going to go out for dinner and attend a late night show at the Devil Planetarium as a reward for scoring quite high on one of your worst subjects. He had begrudgingly accepted, since the plan would be done soon enough and give you enough time to do everything the two of you had set up prior. Yet, as he and his brothers stumbled upon your body in a crumpled heap at the bottom of the stairs, Satan couldn't help but wish that he had said "no". Though he wanted nothing more to cast a healing spell that would seal up your wounds, one light brush against your frigid skin told him you were beyond saving. A broiling rage slowly began to fill his body upon watching your arm that he had once carefully cradled in his palms drop limply to the floor, one of such a heated intensity that it was about to boil over right before your corpse had suddenly dissipated and a second version of yourself appeared at the top of the stairs. Angry tears stung the corners of his eyes until he wiped them away, a sudden sense of relief dulling the wrath the had infested his brain. Truthfully he had mostly tuned out your speech regarding Lilith, favoring to let you speak your peace and pulling you away for one of your calming walks together. In the garden behind HOL is where he lets his emotions finally come flooding out, hot tears flowing behind the arm he raised to hide them as he apologized for not being there to protect you from harm. He cannot help but meld into your arms when you lift his arm away from his face, nestling himself into the crook of your neck and holding onto you like your body would once again evaporate into thin air should he let go even a little. Your responding sobs only made him hold on tighter.

Though Satan still wants you to feel independent and like you're not being smothered, he's noticeably more touchy-feely than usual, even more so in the presence of Belphie. He loves the youngest of his twin brothers dearly, but he's still somewhat hesitant to leave you alone with him for very long. Satan also starts inviting you to tag along with him whenever he goes out a lot more than he used to, so the two of you can spend more time together in general. Going to go see a movie? Hey Mc, I heard you liked this one so I bought an extra ticket. Going to the library? Mc, there's a few books that I want to recommend to you, so you should tag along. Just going on a normal shopping trip? Mc, I need some help finding the best deals over at Devil's Value, care to tag along?

When it's finally time for you to head back to the Human World, Satan is very torn. As much as he'd like to join team "If Mc goes, so do I", he also recognizes and respects your own abilities. You may not be the strongest out of all the ability users out there, but from what he's seen you're one of the strongest people in the three realms even without factoring your ability. Still, the fact that there is ability users out there in the world that likely could harm you a thousand times more than you had been during the Attic incident set him on edge a little bit.

Asmodeus:

Wow! While Asmodeus had met quite a few magic users and cast a good bit of his own spells, never before had he seen someone create tendrils out of their own clothing that seemed like the could stretch and strike without too much limitations. He's a bit disappointed that he can't charm you into using them for his own ambitions and purposes, but that factor just makes you all the more of an enticing target. Honestly, Asmo would pursue you at least a bit more, if not for a good chunk of his other priorities taking up those spots of time. Brand deals, fan meet-ups, VIP parties; you name it and Asmo's got about 20 or so of each to attend to that month. You'll need a few additional tie ins before you have the Avatar of Lust wrapped around your finger, so for now the most he pursues you is a few flirtatious comments here and there. Perhaps a little bit of teasing touches on your arms or shoulders, unless you should shy away and scramble out of his touch.

Most of your interactions with Asmodeus prior to your pact together boil down to his brief and usually one-sided advances, as previously stated. Once or twice you've been involved in the same discussions with his brothers being the ones to pull you into the conversation somehow, and on the rare occasion he'll chat you up on his own whenever he just so happens to be seated beside you at the dinner table. Though you are aware of his exact intentions and the meanings behind a majority of his words, over time you grow used to it and brush it off fairly easily. Your usual tactic of scaring people off didn't even seem to work on him anyway, and there's only so many times you can listen to Asmo call your offers to curb-stomp him "cute" or "hot" before you just give up.

The pact between the two of you is finally sealed after you first wield Solomon's borrowed powers in a way far stronger than the wizard ever had before. Damn, this Human has a neat ability, is part of some strange ability user filled mafia, AND has incredibly strong untapped magic potential? Step aside Solomon, Asmodeus has a new favorite Master.

Asmodeus will be the second of his brothers to admit to you that he's more interested in you as a person rather than your ability (The title of first goes to Beel). While his brothers overtime outweigh their interest in you or their interest in what you could do, Asmodeus is far more intrigued on going straight for the heart of the operation and getting to know you inside and out(emotionally I mean, you horny fool). In the beginning he's somewhat subtle about asking about your past and your current living circumstances as a member of the mafia, but over time Asmo just starts outright asking you whatever comes to mind once he's gotten a feel for what topics to not bring up in order to avoid making you upset or uncomfortable. With how much effort he puts in to earn your trust overtime, if you haven't already opened up at least some of your heart to one of his brothers, it's likely that Asmodeus will end up being the first to chip away at your chilly exterior. He just goes out of his way to make himself warm and inviting whilst actively caring about your wellbeing, so it's honestly hard not to.

Back on the topic of the mafia, Asmodeus honestly has probably had one or two run in with your weaker, ability-less subordinates in the past. The name Port Mafia isn't something he recognizes off the top of his head, considering how many mafias there are or have been in the Human World on ports and other seaside locations, but eventually he does connect the dots after a few additional details. Most of his memories regarding your subordinates involve them either seeking out power so that their boss would give them a higher ranking position and acknowledge them, or just them looking for a way to wind down and come undone after all the stressful and strenuous duties they had been tasked with. He had once teasingly asked if he could meet this all powerful boss they had spoken of, but seeing your eyes begin to panickily shift and face drain of color was all it took to drop it. Asmo still might visit this "Mori" fellow in the future, not exactly for pleasant reasons but also nothing you'd need to worry about.

Sometimes Asmodeus will indulge himself just a little in his occasional curiosity of your ability, but he doesn't press you if you feel uncomfortable with any of his requests. Most of the time he asks to see what Rashōmon can do in the form of a trade. Like, if you show him how much piercing damage one of your tendrils can do, he'll show off any of his demonic powers that you happen to be interested in. You're aware that he'd likely still show you any of his abilities if you asked anyway, but you too enjoy indulging him in his curiosities from time-to-time. So far what he's found most interesting is just how malleable Rashōmon can be without causing any damage to your clothing, and that Rashōmon can be formed through any clothes on your body. (Does that mean you're defenseless when you're- Yes Asmo, and that is the reason why you have a hefty lock on your bedroom door.) Asmo also picks up very easily when you're starting to feel the negative effects of over using your ability, and is quick to stop you and whisk you away for a pampering session. No matter how many times you explain to him that you can handle a little bit of wear and tear or that it's just a little coughing fit, he'll always insist on not allowing you to overdo it. He may not be able to help you all that much with homework, but he'll be damned(again) if he doesn't get you to practice some self-care routines.

Initially he was a bit nervous to go along with Satan's idea to get you and Lucifer to hit it off, but went along with it anyway. He did trust the both of you quite a bit, and though some of his eldest brother's past interactions with you had made him a bit nervous, ultimately Asmo knew that Lucifer was slowly warming up to you. As it just so happened to turn out, he had no need to worry about Lucifer causing any harm to you, since the one who actually ended up killing you was his younger brother that had been trapped in the Attic up until now. Seeing as he had been near the back of the pack when the brothers had all come scrambling to find the reasoning behind your sudden disappearance and a random cacophony of noise, Asmodeus hadn't seen your body at first. Mammon and Satan had surrounded you before he could catch sight of your familiar pitch black coat-tails, and seeing Belphegor suddenly back in the Devildom was enough of a shock to draw his eyes away momentarily. Only after hearing your voice fall off his brothers' lips in such a sad way did he look back and finally see your corpse. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes as he looked into your own, and the way they seemed so glassy and dull nearly made him fall to his knees and sob. Calling out to his brothers for help only made it harder to hold back, seeing as you were already gone by the time they all had gotten there. None of the brothers were even quite sure how Asmo would've responded had it not been for your sudden revival, but if one were to ask him the only response he'd give would be that it wouldn't have been pretty.

After everything regarding the Attic incident has calmed down and he can comfortably hold you in his arms once more, he suddenly develops a rather strange and very noticeable habit. And what is this habit? Stealing your coat whenever he gets the chance too. Asmodeus doesn't do it maliciously, and most of the time he just does it so he can be comforted by your scent. It's simply an added bonus that the coat he took is the one you wear all the time and you'll more often than not come to him in order to retrieve it. Somedays you do just let him have it for an hour or so, but during the Devildom's winter you don't let him keep it at all, no matter how much he offers to warm you up instead.

Count another one into team "If Mc goes, I'm going". Asmo cares for you to the moon and so much further, and going back to the Human World at this point sounds like you'll be ending up with either a death or prison sentence(or both). He's aware how strong you are to have survived on your own this far, but the thought of you dying again and him not doing anything to stop it AGAIN haunts him. Plus, prison isn't good for his darling Mc's skin! If you do end up staying in the Devildom though, Asmo is overjoyed at the idea of you bringing your younger sister along. Especially after all the stories he's heard about her from you!

Beelzebub:

Oh. Hm. Anyway so when's... Yeah, Beel's not exactly impressed or really interested when he sees you come out of the portal and the fact that you surrounded yourself with this strange cage of tendrils still somehow manages to not really catch his eye. He's got a lot of other priorities Mc, he can't get hung up on why the human he's not allowed to eat has a weird superpower when Beelzebub is far more concerned on if Lucifer is going to punish him when they get home because he ate all the food in the fridge before they left for RAD that morning. The thing he finds most interesting is more so the fact that Mammon was your appointed caretaker, but that moment of curiosity is ever so fleeting. Beel really just wants the Student Council meeting to be over and done with, preferring not to stare at the empty chair beside him.

As expected, you don't really interact with Beelzebub all that much prior to the formation of the pact between the two of you. Unless Mammon or Leviathan need help with something or get him to help you with something, he doesn't find himself in your general area too often. Your somewhat cold and standoffish personality doesn't help on that front too much either, as even with a bit of warming up a-la the Great Mammon and Lord of Shadows, you're still not the easiest person to approach and strike up a conversation with. Occasionally he does ask the brothers you're close to about how they're getting along with you, but it's more for their sake than yours.

After the whole Custard fiasco takes place and you're forced to share a room with him, he starts taking at least a little bit more interest in you. You're still somewhat aloof, but you manage to make a decent amount of small talk with him. What catches his attention the most is when you bring up your younger sister, whom you care for dearly. The first night the topic is brought up the two of you almost stay up all night, trading stories about your respective siblings. You can't help but sympathize with Beel as well, since you know the inner turmoil you'd go through if something were to happen to your sister. Beelzebub can also sympathize with your own current plight of being trapped in the Devildom and away from your only other living family in the Human World. Honestly if he hadn't formed a pact with you after everything that happened in the Underground Tomb, he likely would've done it at some other point.

Unless you can or are willing to use your ability in a way that would help you in working out with him, Beel doesn't often ask you to bring out Rashōmon aside from helping him carry some stuff that didn't fit in his arms. He'd much rather help you train your physical body than watch you wear yourself down by using your ability anyway. Of course the two of you make a workout routine that suits you the best, but Beel can also recognize when you're pushing yourself too far and will stop you and probably just head home for the day after. Most likely you do end up using your ability for other purposes around him at some point, and he's quick to pick up on the effects that over usage has on your body just as fast as he notices you overextending yourself in the gym. Should you be a bit defiant with him and try to keep going despite your current state, Beel with simply pick you up and gently toss you over his shoulder. You're well aware that kicking or screaming won't get you out of this, so you just have to settle for being carried home like a sack of potatoes or at least until he puts you back down.

Bringing up the topic of the Port Mafia with Beel yields somewhat interesting results. He'd rather not hear about some of the more brutish methods they use or a good majority of the schemes they commit, but he is oddly intrigued by the sense of camaraderie that you seem to share with some of your superiors and the leaders of Black Lizard. It reminds him somewhat of the bond he shares with his Fangol teammates, minus the fact that his teammates aren't actively committing crimes as far as he's aware. Rather than subtly convincing you, Beel would much prefer to just outright tell you that he doesn't like that you're a part of such a dangerous side of humanity and urges you to stay in the Devildom with them after the Exchange Program is over. And once everything involving the Attic is over and done with, he's only further cemented in the idea of you making your stay in the Devildom permanent. But of course before we get there, we gotta talk about the Attic incident.

Similar to Asmodeus, he'd been at the rear end of the group when the brothers had been searching for you as well as the source of the noise. But unlike Asmo, Beelzebub's height advantage allowed him to not only see Belphegor somehow standing there cackling, as well as your crumpled body in Mammon's arms. As much as Beel had desperately been awaiting the day of his twin's return and wished to pull him into an embrace, it was incredibly clear that his oh-so beloved twin brother had literally just murdered you in cold blood. He didn't even need to ask the motive either, knowing full well just how much Belphegor had sworn vengeance against humanity ever since the Fall. Yet even so, Beel felt that you didn't deserve this, to take the full front of his brother's wrath just for your species. Unable to make a move towards or away from either of you, he remained rooted in place and just stared, occasionally glancing back at Lucifer for guidance. A sudden gnawing hunger fills his stomach and gradually builds up as the tension in the air grows thicker, the unnatural sort of hunger that only your living presence could truly fill. Thankfully it seemed at least one of his hungers would be solved that day, as you suddenly reappeared at the top of the stairs alive, but slightly bruised and batter. Alongside Lucifer, he held Belphie back to prevent him from attacking you again, letting you get out what needed to be said about Lilith that you had learned from the other timeline's version of Lucifer.

Beelzebub hangs back for quite a bit after your revival, allowing his brothers to hug and hold onto you as they tell you how happy they are you're alive before approaching you. Mostly he just wanted to allow his brothers to get your full attention before he asked for any, but a small part of him felt that he didn't deserve to embrace you in such a way after failing to protect you like he had promised. By the end of the night he still does embrace you, but not too long afterwards is when the guilt-ridden nightmares set in. Not only does he now dream of failing to protect Lilith, but your death now plagues his mind as well. After the first set of sleepless nights caused by these new nightmares, Beelzebub asks if he can sleep in your room for the night. Following then you often find yourself sleeping with Beel, as your presence seems to ward off nightmares like a sort of dreamcatcher.

Yet another member of team "If Mc goes, I go" for very obvious reasons. He's your sworn protector and if you're going back to a part of the Human World where you're incredibly likely to end up getting yourself killed, he's coming along with you. Also he really wants to meet your younger sister!

Belphegor:

Woe is him! Such a poor, unfortunate human locked up in the Attic of the treacherous demon brothers! What ever shall he do, trapped up here until his bones begin to crumble and skin turns to dust? Fellow human, won't you listen to his plea? Won't you help him escape the confines set in place by the wicked Avatar of Pride, Lucifer himself? "No"? What do you mean "no"?! Hey! HEY! Where the fuck are you going?! And did you just shrug and call him weak as you walked off???!!! Get back here!

Yeaahh, unfortunately for Belphie he's gonna have to wait until you get annoyed by his constant complaining in the dead of night or warm up to Beel and learn about him before you come back. At the point in time that you had made your way up the stairs to discover the mysterious voice that had been calling out to you, you certainly were not in a state that you would've jumped to save this random "human" from their imprisonment at the hands of Lucifer. Once you do finally return you're somewhat upset that Belphegor had attempted to lie to you about his origins, but you set aside those reservations in favor of focusing on how to get him back with Beelzebub. You couldn't deny that if you had been in his position, you might've lied in order to get back to your younger sister yourself.

Luckily for Belphie, besides his initial lie of being a human, you don't pick up on any of his other manipulated truths and forced words of kindness. Outside of the occasional update whenever you would get a new pact with one of the brothers or just going up and making sure he's still healthy, the two of you don't interact much during his stay in the Attic. Near the end of his time up there you did start coming up more frequently, under the guise of making sure he was eating and drinking properly. You may have tried to be as subtle as possible about your true motives, but he had begun to pick up on how much his brothers had worn down that harsh outer shell of yours that he'd seen in your first meeting. He'd even caught you smiling at one point when you had thought he wasn't looking, and act that made him scowl and growl to himself about after you had left for the night. He hated putting on that fake smiley attitude with you to gain your trust, but what he hated even more was that you yourself had begun to make him feel strangely warm and tingly inside. Just how was he supposed to go about his plans of killing you if he's getting distracted by these sudden complex feelings? With no clear alternative answer, Belphie settled for just pushing them deep down inside instead.

As with any other day sent in the Attic, he had been sleeping during his brothers' plans to get you and Lucifer to bond closer together. Most of the time he just slept until you rhythmically tapped on the bars of the door, so he didn't budge at all when the door had suddenly opened at your touch and you stepped inside. The feeling of someone's hand on his shoulder shaking him was enough to snap him awake, locking eyes with you as you now stood beside him in what had been his own personal prison for months now. Still going along with his plan, Belphegor is quick to express his deepest "graditudes" and holds his arms out to you for a hug. Hesitantly, you slowly ease into his embrace, making it clear that physical affections weren't you strong suit. With how much you had hesitated in the beginning, Belphie almost felt bad for what he was about to do to you. Almost. His hands suddenly wrapped around your throat, squeezing tighter and tighter with a gleeful expression on his face as you violently thrash and struggle. Rashōmon attacks blindly in his direction in an attempt to protect you, but the most you manage to get out of it is a momentary distraction to wriggle out of his grasp before he's attacking you once again. It is at this point Lilith's spirit whisks you away, trading you with the alternate timeline version of yourself and saying her peace to you.

The alternate timeline version of you puts up just as much of a fight as you would have, but ultimately falls by the hands of the Avatar of Sloth. Most of the damage you deal against Belphie is minor cuts and bruising, but that's still more then any other weaker creature that had gone against him had done. If he had to admit one thing, it would be that he was somewhat surprised by your tenacity. He would have enjoyed it far more if he could've beaten you into submission and watched you slowly pass on, but you continued to put up a fight until your dying breath. By the time his brothers had arrived onto the scene, your past self's body was already growing cold and your blood had begun to dye the white spots of the rug a deep red. The betrayal in the air was thick, yet he still cackled and mocked not only the human he had just killed but his brothers as well, for caring so much for such a weak being. He had honestly expected at least one of them to turn against him and go after him, but any of those thoughts were quickly silenced by the disappearance of your body and re-emergence at the top of the stairwell.

Coping with the fact that Lilith had been reincarnated as a human and lived a happy life with her lover was far easier the what he was now coming to terms with. Not only had he killed you for what he perceived as the wrong-doings of your entire species, but he had betrayed your trust that he had spent months building up. You still didn't even fully trust him at the time of his release either, too nervous to hug him right away when he'd offered. Somehow though, you eventually found it in yourself to slowly forgive him and begin building up trust in him again. It was a slow and steady process with a few set backs along the way, but as his pact mark now lay emblazed upon your skin Belphie could sleep comfortably on your lap.

Seeing as you didn't have much of a reason to show him your ability before, Belphie had only really seen you use it when you were trying to fight for your life against him. Since he'd rather not have that in mind when thinking about your ability, he started to occasionally request that you show it off for him whenever you feel like it. Mostly he enjoys just watching the tendrils perform mundane tasks like carrying groceries or folding laundry, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't secretly scheming some pranks with Satan that you would be a big help in. But his favorite use of Rashōmon is when you pick him up after he's fallen asleep and carry him to a more comfortable location. Rashōmon's tendrils are somewhat prickly, but Belphie has thick enough clothing that if you grab onto the right parts you can use your ability to lift and pull him about with ease. Secretly, he's often awake whenever you do end up carrying him somewhere, but he just enjoys being along for the ride. The second you start coughing or showing any negative side effects though, he's strangely and suddenly woken up and is sleepily asking to be put down, which usually just ends with him pulling you down with him to the floor for an impromptu nap.

During his stay in the Attic Belphie had helped you a little with your subjects at RAD, but now that he's out and has a massive backlog or homework and assignments to get through you'll actually end up helping him more than he helps you. Belphegor isn't stupid by any means and does finish up everything within a month and a half, but it's nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of and study with. Once he's all caught up though, he's more than happy to help you with your own classwork, even if he does tease you every time you ask for his help.

Yeah so, team "If Mc goes, I go" is honestly all of the brothers beside Satan and Lucifer. It's not that they aren't confident in your own abilities, it's just that they're all incredibly aware just how fragile even the strongest of humans are. And no one is more aware of that than Belphegor. Not to mention they're quite literally sending you back to hell on earth, where your superiors are very likely to be pissed off about your sudden and very long absence. Plus, either way he'll get to spend more time with you and probably meet your younger sister. Hopefully someone steps in for or against you Mc, otherwise you better hope that your salary can account for all of these brand new roommates you and Gin just received.

(*drinks my "I love making Chapter 16 more angsty and emotional than it canonically is" juice* Drifted a bit outta canon for this one, as a treat. Also if y'all have noticed, I did have to nerf Aku!Mc a bit so the demon brothers are an actual threat. I don't believe Mc would be too scared of the demon brothers if they didn't at least have some resistance to Rashomon's incredible consumption of matter and space.

Okay let me say some bad news... my laptop won't come soon (or forever) so BSD Wan! translation will hiatus for a while but of course Prosekai still continue as those material are direct from mine~

Winter 2021 Anime Opinions

As always its that time of the year I pretend to be an anime connoisseur and leave my review on this seasons anime so take it with a grain of salt asdfgh from the one I enjoyed the least to the most.

Wave!!: Surfing Yappe!! (TV)

You are seeing currently the only probably best thing about Wave asdfghj Tanaka bby I am SO sorry you got stuck here,,,,, Its bad because I had so many expectations for Wave but it just...... isn’t very good? The characters feel 2 dimensional, animation is veeeery average and the plot is all over the place? Dont even get me started on the Shou situation plot device that they just brushed over and went on with and,,,,,big sigh

Urasekai Picnic

To be honest is not very fair to compare this one to the rest as ive only watched the first 2 eps but ill catch up eventually asdfghj its not bad just that the plot didnt capture me as much as I hoped but the two main characters cutiess the plot just confuses me asdfgh but I don't have much to say about it

Yakusoku no Neverland 2nd Season

So uh anyways Chile I don't wanna talk about it the only reason this is not dead last is because RayEmma cute moments but yeah don't watch this clown show go read the manga for self care ✨

Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun

The only reason this is here is because she. The main girl I cant remember the name of sucks and main dude is very normal asdfgh the plot is basically “Want people to like you? change everything about yourself and become a normie robot!!!” ASDFGHJ Like its so over the top and cringe at times it becomes very confusing but hey I am not caught up either so I may change opinions (x doubt tho)

2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu

From this point onwards I basically like everything. 2.43 Started suuuuper strong for me, definitely thought it would be one of my favs this season but as the eps went by I just.... kinda lost interest asdfgh? Like its not bad, but its a sort of mix between Stars Align and Haikyuu where I would have loved a more character based story with dark subplots like Stars Align but got the parts I always criticize about Haikyuu were there was a point I didn't really knew any of the characters? ASDFGH like the enemy team is super cool and Love their designs but if you ask me to tell you anything about them I already forgot rip. Its still cute and the animation is cool but yeah it kind of disappointed me in the end a bit ;w;

Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season

AOT Is so sexci because it keeps on hurting me and I come back every-time for it ASDFGHJ Not much to say that hasn't been said, characters are super interesting, plot is a bit confusing at times for me to follow but amazing and I just :))) could go on about certain characters :))))) but I wont :))))

Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder egg priority is very talked about right now so I wont get too much into it other than definitely give it a watch if you like the more philosophical and “makes you reflect on your life choices” sort of anime ASDFGHJ the visuals are stunning and the characters very well build, although I am very confused at times I am still enjoying it tons ^^ Trigger warning however for some heavy topics I recommend checking the warnings before watching it <3

Kemono Jihen

I LOVE THEM OKaY? asdfghjk Kemono Jihen gives me the found family topes and I eat them all right up, I love the characters , their designs, the plot, everything. To be fair tho, I did enjoy the manga more than the anime but maybe its a pacing thing? idk but I definitely recommend 100% taking on the manga and maybe after watch the anime but I am enjoying it tons!!

Kai Byoui Ramune

This one may come as a surprise lol?? Like I haven't seen a single soul talk about Ramune but like??? I am actually enjoying it a lot?? and look forward every week for the ep? asdfghj Like yes I will be the first to admit the animation isn't really the beeeeest out there but the plot is funny while also being serious, the characters are quirky and interesting to keep the flow going and I am liking the undertone heavy messages? the soundtrack also slaps imo and yeah I would definitely say to watch the first ep and if you like that sort of dynamic take it up on the rest!

I★Chu: Halfway Through the Idol

Okay I will be the first one to admit this is just me being trash for the idol shows but like?? its my list so I get to decide which found family I am screaming about next ASDFGHJ. As an avid A3 stan this gave me serious vibes of my boys (plus they were made form the same company so like not very surprised there loll) and like I think the characters are cute with adorable relationships and cute songs and its just a lighthearted show I sit down every Wednesday and smile through the 25 minutes so yes I Chu deserves a high spot and yes I recommend it even if it has like a 6.3 on myanimelist sksksks

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars

Look at Gen!!!! enough reasons to watch dr stone!!!! ASDFGH but in all seriousness I....... love them okAy? The plot is amazing and the characters are super entertaining (hiiii Ukyo Gen Senku and Chrome muak) and although it may seem a bit slower paced than first season the arc is gonna get better and better and the finale is gonna be great if they stick to the manga. Only sad that I dont get to see my pirate fuckboy but we better be getting a third season

Bungou Stray Dogs Wan!

when I say this is the happiness of all my Tuesdays I ain’t even exaggerating ASDFGHJ Does this have an important plot? no. Is it transcending to animation? not really. Is it BSD content I've been starving for? absolutely!!! Tbh I see my favorite anime characters in chibi version and I go feral, go watch BSD pogg!!

Horimiya

Me?? searching for that one gif of the side ship scene am obsessed over?? more likely than you think ASDFGH Horimiya holds a special place in my heart because it was the first manga I ever read and the nostalgia is stroNG,,,,,, The plot isn't anything really transcending but the way the characters are captured the feelings just,,,,,, stan!! Also Yuki x Tooru supremacy !

Skate-Leading☆Stars

Okaaaaay this is also me being a bitch for sports anime but like, again, are we surprised?? ASDFGHJ It may be my love for Hayato speaking but ive absolutely loves Skate Leading Stars, I love the group, the main characters, the ships, the routines and its so pretty and they are in love and like the competition and asdfgh its gOoD OKaY??? Watch it if anything for Hayato 👉🏻 👈🏻 My bastard bitch I love the gremlin.

Beastars 2nd Season

I think we are all sleeping on Beastars brushing it off as a furry show. I don’t speak enough about it and I am not one to go about poetic cinemaness on main but beastars is a very poetic cinema show and yall sleeping on it. Coming from someone who was uncomfortable at first with the whole animal relationships part at first, just know beastars is so much more than that, it has a complicated plot with critics about the society within the show with amazing characters, great soundtrack and animation plus banger plot. Pina, Jack, Juno and Legoshi best characters and every week I look forward for the next eps so I hope yall go give it some love.

SK8 The Infinity

If it wasnt clear from my spam every Saturday that I am absolutely in love with this show I dont know what to tell you ASDFGHJ. Sk8 has an amazing range of characters I find fascinating, specially Reki, very much so everything Reki asdfgh but yeah!! Its super entertaining with an interesting plot and its definetely becoming one of my favorite animes because the amount of times ive rewatched the episodes to cope is kind of embarrassing lmaooo, definetely give it a try although I understand its not for everyone but like,,,,, do it for Reki? 🤧👉🏻👈🏻

note: before i start, i would like to clear out that these are just some things which happen in my house and may differ from your culture. this is just how i would imagine the jjk characters to behave during ramzan. hope you enjoy!

1. Nobara Kugisaki

very excited to fast because it reduces weight!

the kind of person who sleeps through the fast and only wakes up for namaz.

eats most of the fruits during iftar

doesn't want to miss any fasts because she had a bet going with itadori to see who could keep the most number of fasts. (being a girl, nobara knew she would lose but she's not the type to back down from a fast either.)

she regularly gets scolded for not helping at all with the making of the iftar.

"HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO WORK WHEN I'M SLEEPING?!"

"IT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE CONSIDERED A FAST IF YOU COMPLETELY SLEEP THROUGH IT" (dadi™)

she's very excited for eid to come because... who isn't? new clothes, eidi (money) and good food? i think yes.

the type to stay awake till sehri so that she doesn't accidentally miss it.

i think she keeps most of her fasts, leave for her periods or a few days where she threw up because of the long day or something.

2. Itadori Yuji ft. Sukuna

alright hear me out, he's the type of person who blocks Jennifer Lawrence, Kylie Jenner etc on ramzan chaand raat and unblocks them on eid chaand raat. (did that make sense?)

has a bet going with nobara to see who can keep more fasts. doesn't matter if he's absolutely dying, he wont miss a fast. (that's good tho?)

accidentally saw one of his bikini posters and chanted "Astaghfirullah" for the rest of the day.

he was teasing nobara for not fasting and got a pillow straight to his face

he starts taraweeh in hopes of praying next to his crush's father but dips midway

like nobara, he's very excited for eid. the type to put his eidi pictures on snapchat

almost swore at sukuna in his head but he held himself back

sukuna keeps talking about food in his head. like dazai in that bsd wan scene where he kept whispering 'curry, curry' in ango's ear.

the type who complains about not enough iftar being made though he barely eats any.

"iftar bohot kam bana hai."

"tum itna toh kha k dikhao"

"there's barely enough iftar" "try to finish this much first"

(the english translation isnt funny at all pls-)

3. Megumi Fushiguro

perfect boy

keeps all his fasts

wakes up on time for sehri. sometimes also goes out to get the yoghurt.

opts for a whole 27 day taraweeh

prefers wearing full sleeve shirts/tshirts and fully covered trousers if he's not wearing a kurta pajama or something like that.

BLACK KURTA WITH ROLLED UP SLEEVES (SCRREEEEAAAAAAMMMMSSSSS)

sometimes helps out his mom with iftar

cooks for his sister when she's not fasting

it was very hard for him but he completely stopped hitting itadori during the month. he was back to normal from eid.

speaking of eid, he isnt overly excited about it but he's looking forward to the sheer qorma.

megumi (to me) is someone who always needs something playing in his ears. its his way of concentrating and stimulating his brain and it really eases his stress (am i talking about myself? absolutely.) during ramzan, he decided to switch to random podcasts or recitations and stuff.

if he's tired or feeling a bit sick, he sometimes sleeps during his fast.

MAJOR HEADACHES™

i dont know what i can write about this boy, he's absolutely perfect in my eyes and i dont know what he could do wrong except hit itadori.

4. Gojo Satoru

the ultimate cause of megumi's headaches

totally sleeps through sehri

he might be fasting but his energy level never goes down like HOW?! others are almost dead but he just keeps jumping around like he's hinata shoyo or something

halal pick up lines which make you swear

"I want your feet to be my kid's jannah."

"I want my feet to straight up meet your nose."

fr if you spoke to him during your fast, keep muttering "la haula wala quwaita illa billah hil ali al azeem"

always looking for excuses to skip his fasts but nanami keeps him in check

has to be constantly nagged to pray. never does it in time. often his namaz gets qaza-ed. (what's that even supposed to mean?)

he once tried to make iftar for the children. everyone ate iftar about 2 hours after sunset. (pain)

he too, is the type to pray taraweeh next to his crush's father.

speaking of taraweeh, he's just lying there after his iftar feeling like he's missing something when he suddenly remembered that he didn't turn up to taraweeh that day.

complains a lot about how he's thirsty while he's fasting and get's a scolding from nanami everytime.

shoko tried to tell him the positive effects of fasting but he just ended up telling her that "girls use their periods as an excuse to skip fasting." shoko didn't let him eat iftar that day.

weird food combinations even during iftar. cucumber with ketchup? rooh afza on watermelon? you bet he does that daily.

(both of these are very tasty, you can try it out if you want to.)

starts counting down to eid the day ramzan starts.

his RICH GUY EID FLEX PLS. he got his new nike shoes stolen from the mosque and it served him right.

gives everyone lots of eidi on eid because he's RICH™

just finished watching bungo stray dogs (including the ova; movie; & wan) & ITS SOOO GOOD, MAN 😭 (i gush more under this cut)

so far, i think s3 is the best one imo.. (s2 a very close second) character wise, my faves are; ✨ ranpo, chuuya, dazai, kunikida, akutagawa, fitzgerald, & kenji ✨ i'm probably biased with ranpo bc i watched (& rlly enjoyed) saiki k. & they have the same seiyuu (hiroshi kamiya) so i often picture saiki in his shoes. other than that ranpo is so cool??? like he has no ability power whatsoever & he's just plain ass smart af 😵 chuuya? another badass character. dazai—i mean who doesn't like dazai? i was actually surprised to find out that dazai & tsukiyama (tokyo ghoul) has the same seiyuu, his voice is very familiar so finding this out was very surprising. kunikida,, a character we should look up to tbh 🧎 akutagawa, another cool as character & i actually like him more than atsushi 🤐 fitzgerald is arguably my favorite leader.. (i rlly like fukuzawa & mori but fitzgerald hits different..) like dude,, he has money as his ability. thats cool,, & also fitzgerald dilf. and kenji,, he's just a cute as character w a wicked ability 😌

i do have some iffy things/things i really dislike about the series. 1.) dazai attempting to suicide is one of the things i find "iffy" about it. ik he's not glorifying it/encouraging others/viewers to do it but i find it off-putting. though he has turned down the attempts as the story progressed so that's good ig. not really bothered by it that much, i kinda think it adds more character to him? but srsly we shouldn't take suicide as a laughing matter. 2.) the pedophilia. i was really bothered with mori & elise's relationship & throughout the series i continuously convince myself that they have a "father-daughter relationship". but for some reason mori is still a really likeable character & i'm baffled by the fact that i like a pedo character- 😭 3.) lastly the incest or at least the implied incest. i tried.. i really tried to like the two tanizakis but they're just SO weird. it's so... awkward & whenever they're on the scene doing whatever the hell they're doing i just cringe so much. i have a brother (two of them actually) & i'm NEVER this touchy/clingy with them. junichiro has a cool ability - not gonna lie about that but bc of his peculiar r.ship w his sister i just cant.. now, naomi... she literally has no personality whatsoever & a very "distinct trait" about her so far is that she loves her brother. & don't tell me it's just a platonic relationship w them being clingy, in one of the bsd wan episode; when dazai & atsushi were cleaning the lockers, they opened naomi's locker and lo and behold pictures of her brother. just that. again, its like her only trait. & when yosano lost her scalpel & she searched junichiro; naomi was jealous..? Like c'mon.. I don't think I'll ever wrap my head around them & say that i like them,, i just can't. sorry not sorry.

overall, I'd give it 7.5/10 (prob 8 tbh). please don't cancel me or fight me in the comments, this is just my opinion. & if you want to share yours feel free to do! including correcting me; maybe you can help me have a change of mind w the things i don't like ab bsd. or if you want to just gush over them,, go ahead! i really appreciate you for taking your time to read all this garbage i wrote 😅 i hope you have a splendid day!! stay safe n healthy~

Alright, I finally read Reincarnation no Kaben

AFTER MONTHS (it’s probably been a month? My mind doesn’t keep track of the days) I FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO RNK. Ty to Okita anon for the recommendation (*￣3￣)╭💕💕💕 I absolutely loved it.

After this I’ll start on the other recommendation you gave me. I kept a bit of a log of my reading journey under the read more tag.

Major spoilers for literally everything in RNK up to ch 53 “Withdrawal”.

Oh, and I’ll finish answering all my leftover asks and I SHOULD have a fic done by tomorrow. I was so ready to write and then I got up. Now I’m back to bed.

I’m just gonna write this as a log since I read super super slow and I’m only on ch 7 at the start of writing this but I’m really liking it already. Though to be fair. I love everything okita anon recommends haha. I remember you saying you were simping over Kouu and I haven’t gotten to the part where he appears but I wanted to quickly google what he looked like to prepare myself and I see this:

I was actually kinda surprised by how many western figures were in the manga since I know there are only like 7? Around 7 western figures that pop up in any anime/manga but seeing people like Albert Fish was kinda surprising but I really liked it. Also, at the end of certain chapters they write little bio’s on them so you get to know more about them was such a nice touch. I also love that the tradition of making males -> females still stays strong even outside the fate universe hehe.

Literally, the next chapter I see him. AHHHHHHHHH. Well maybe not him but his eyeballs.

This guy lowkey reminds me of the MC’s brother but it’s 99% because he has the same long ponytail. I wouldn’t be surprised if the brother was apart of the the Greats. Honestly, Ein reminds me of those really hard headed girls that are actually really kind on the inside but aren’t good at expressing themselves (maybe because that’s pretty much her character). I also like that Ein doesn’t like males but she’s hiding behind this guy. At least, I’m..99% sure this is Ein.

I FUCKING KNEW IT. AS SOON AS I SAW HE GOT A THEIF TALENT I COULD FEEL THE SOLO LEVELING VIBES IN ME. HE CAN STEAL TALENTS I FUCKING KNEW IT!!! I’m surprised that Neumann didn’t say anything and Haito seems to be aware of it.

Edit: Ah okay, I understand a bit now but it almost seems like Haito is the only one aware of Toya’s second talent.

Edit 2: Okay, as much as I love power hungry MC’s I’m really glad they didn’t make Toya into that. I am such a softie for sympathetic and kind MC’s like these even though it’s been done so many times. I’m really glad this didn’t feel like a rehash. I mean, some points some of the stuff Toya says it does but it’s fine, I don’t mind that. I actually gave a crap about him since I usually prefer the side characters (I UNDERSTAND ANON, I CARE ABOUT KOUU SO MUCH AHHHHH) but HAITO?? AHHHHH.

I like that Izo always has the same hat in every adaptation he’s in lol. Istg, cats are always op. Schrodinger seems so strong and the parallel universes are my absolute shit. Sometimes I think, in one universe I did this and in this universe I’m not. Would I rather stay in this universe or be in the one where I am actually productive. Usually I pick the productive universe and actually work but sometimes I’m a bit of a slacker haha. I think this is my approach to a lot of things in life. But I digress, I don’t wanna get too deep into my life.

I can sorta sympathize with the sinners. At least the ripper guy to say the least. I love love love unhinged characters that just want to basically destroy the world or at least have fun. But then you find out- wait they are actually sympathetic oh no. That’s how I felt about Djoser in “im the great priest imhotep” (please...i beg...someone read this...I’m so starved).

As much as character development and rooting for the hero is cool and all, I just want to simp for the crazy “let’s burn the world to the ground” kinda character. I’m also so glad Toya doesn’t automatically become evil and try and steal everyone’s talents because he does seem like a good person and I really don’t see him suddenly switching fields so when he saved (I don’t remember names I’m sorry), the undead solider it was really nice. Proves that he still has his humanity and isn’t strictly relying on the branch of sin.

It makes sense that he wants to steal talents since he never had one (and it was kinda out of left field when he killed Vlad and we just never addressed that ever again haha) but to see him actually consider his actions and if he actually want’s to steal his teammates talents feels right to me. Poor guy doesn’t seem to have a lot of friends so this is the first time he’s ever seemed to have companionship, aside from Haito, so I really hope he doesn’t attempt to steal their talents. I think I’m thinking of the slime? That time I got reincarnated as a slime manga/anime. Where he’s the pokemon catcher of skills. I thought that was where it was going.

But I do kinda like how selfish Haito and Toya’s talent stealing relationship is (I mean, later it develops but my first draft of writing this I wasn’t there yet). I’m not sure if selfish or like self-gratitude/pride is the right word but it’s kind of a breath of fresh air. Rather than Haito trying to contain or “help” Toya’s inferiority she’s actually encouraging it and using her own talent for her own...acknowledgement? Er, yeah let’s go with that.

This. This interaction. I love this. Like, genuinely love this. We need more of this. Two people from opposite sides finding some common ground and their fight to the death is less about morals or whose on whose side but for themselves. I love that. This is actually some wholesome stuff.

As much as I hate that Hitler is getting drawn as a small child I really like this. I know the whole, oh I killed your friends but I’m letting you go because you express humanity but I’m gonna finish my death with a sympathetic line, can be annoying to people but idk I really liked this.

Honestly this and the undead soldiers death hit me hard ngl. This manga might not have my favourite art style during some points compared to like main stream manga but it has some really beautiful scenes.

He looks so cute lol. I like that Seiya has the talent of being talented in everything while Toya has the talent to steal other talents. Seiya can probably only cap his power by his own physical/mental abilities with Toya can pull a solo leveling and go further beyond. Thinking of it like jack of trades vs master of none type deals. Though, I might be thinking too hard on this. I like that this man is actually humble but I really wish there was a tiny bit more to him since we only get this one interaction/backstory but the manga isn’t completed yet. I really hope we get to know about Seiya more;; like how he became da vinci or etc.

Everytime I see Neumann I look at that comic sans type and it kills me on the inside. But I love that her eyes are 01 just, mwah perfection. These little details that aren’t that big but it’s soooo nice. I also ahem, unhinged character heart be still. It’s really nice reading manga in bursts because you can see the art progression and damn does she look good.

I didn’t get into it but OKITA ANON I GET IT. KOUU??? AHHHH. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE??? As much as his whole “war” was a bit questionable in the beginning and tbh I still don’t really get it I like that he knows he’s not the same as the other Greats but still tries to help the other “sinners” in a way only he knows. That’s why Seiya was so important;; I get that he wanted them to have a fun death and to be understood but idk, the whole war idea and having them kill each other (especially the Hitler fights because I understand the others since they reached some kind of acknowledgement) but nonetheless, what a great guy.

Nightingale gives me mad masaki vibes from chainsawman. I hate them and I can’t wait for you to fail, but the inner part of my is cheering for you because unhinged characters are my shit. I feel really bad for Neumann, I had suspicions she wasn’t actually like that since it’s sooo out of left field but I’m really glad the manga seems to know what it’s doing. I really wish we got more Kouu interactions with everyone tho.

In conclusion, and I should probably re-read what the characters say and not go off on memory because I’m about to get really deep. I really like how they phrased why they wanted to stop the branch of sin. That there are people just like Toya and Haito who, if they never found the branch of sin, could still probably lead respectable and okay lives. That there was a “them” in another universe that didn’t go down that road and that they want to be in the same universe as “them”. I know this sounds really confusing if you haven’t read the manga but going back to what I said about the parallel universe stuff.

There was a universe where Toya and Haito didn’t rely on the branch of sin, that even without their talents from becoming a returner, they could still live a happy life given their own personalities and attitudes. It was kinda moving since in the beginning, Toya wanted a talent so badly and now that he has one. He’s realizing that wait, I don’t need a past life talent in order to live. Honestly, I hard relate to that because I totally agree with him. If you have a talent you can probably live a very happy and comfortable life that other factors wouldn’t matter if you just have that incredible talent. Thinking of it as a painter or artist, if you had actual god-given talent you wouldn’t need to worry about other factors since people would naturally seek that talent. So you end up comparing yourself to others and setting that limit on yourself.

But that’s okay, it’s completely natural and I’m not saying it’s horrible if you do this. Fuck, I do this all the time. I’m not saying the manga is changing my life but it’s kind of refreshing that it get’s talked about since other adaptations of this just make the character super OP. I understand wanting to have that incredible talent, fuck who doesn’t? but you don’t need it in order to live earnestly in the bigger picture sense. Not everything you do has to be productive and honestly, learning to be okay with having fun is nice. Just being okay with who you are right now, even if it isn’t perfect in your eyes, you still have time to build upon yourself and your own talents but doing it for yourself.

But I probably missed the point and I’m going way to deep haha. But I really enjoyed reading this and thank you once again to okita anon for the recommendation^^ I always love everything you send me and I’ll start reading the next one. If anyone else has any recommendations let me know!

uhm hi im kinda new to the fandom so I'm not really sure with almost everything that's happening but all i know is i love love love the series so far. To make this short in order to save time, I just wanted to ask in what order should i read/watch bsd? I'm on chapter 45 in the manga and I'm not sure what to do exactly after finishing it someday. Can you give/suggest me an order or list? Thank you very much!

Hello Anon-san! First of all, welcome to bsd hell!

The manga is a very nice start. In bsd there’s many things apart from the anime and manga so I am gonna explain shortly what each is together with my recommended order of reading/watching. So...

BSD Universe Guide

1) Manga (79 chapters so far, updating at the start of every month)

2) Anime ( Season 1, Season 2, OVA(Hitori Ayumu), Movie (Dead Apple), Season 3)

3) Novels (Only the first 2 novels are released in english. Some of the others might be translated online or there might be reviews. I’m gonna list them here together with alternative ways to learn the gist of their stories)

a) Dazai’s Entrance Exam (This one has been added in the first season of the anime, just with another timeline. It’s the Blue King/Messenger story. In the novel, the events happen 2 years before the anime timeline so Atsushi isn’t there and Dazai is a newbie fufu if you can get your hands on it though, then do so, it’s funny)

b) Dark Era (This one is depicted in the first 4 episodes of season 2. Some details have been changed and obviously the novel is better but you can understand the story just from the anime.)

c) Planning of Atsushi’s Entrance Exam + Founding of the Agency (This has not been shown anywhere. There should be translations/reviews online though. You can ask me for help finding them ^^)

d) 55 minutes (A completely new story in the current timeline. It’s fun and all but you don’t miss on the story so much even if you don’t read it. Again, if you can find it either online or when/if it’s released in english, do read it! It’s nice!

e)Dead Apple (Now this is just the scenario of the movie in novel form. You don’t have to read it to understand the story or anything.)

f) BEAST (This is an alternative story where Atsushi is in the Mafia and Aku is in the ADA, it doesn’t have anything to do with the original plot. But if you are curious, here’s a summary of it I had written while reading it.)

g) Fifteen (Dazai and Chuuya’s meeting story. It has been animated in the first 3 episodes of season 3 but there’s many parts that were cut and/or changed. You can read my summary/review of it here.)

4)BSD wan! (manga) Idk if anyone’s still translating it currently but there are many translated chapters and it’s hella funny and if you enjoy some comedy then you should totally read it!

5) Dead Apple Manga (It’s updating online in japanese currently. Idk if anyone’s translating it but it follows the events of the movie mostly so there’s no urgency to read it. But there are some extra scenes that are based off of an originals story for the game)

6) Bungou Tales of the lost (Mobile game, there’s also an english version. It has most of the stories and some few original scenarios like the one I mentioned above.)

7) BSD Gaiden (A completely side story featuring completely other characters but in the same universe. Ango appears in it. Tsujimura, who appears in the movie, first appeared here. And actually also meets Chuuya in it.) Now this has both a novel and a manga. If you are interested, you can find part of the manga translated online.

Okay I think that’s all. Just the manga and novels are enough to enter the BSD world but if you wanna get in deeper there’s many things you can do. If reading is to your liking then take the time to read some of the books the original authors had written. No Longer Human is awesome for example XD

No problem! I am always happy to receive asks. This one was a little delayed because I napped during the middle of asking it. This is gonna get a little bit long (the other ones were long, but I never put a line whoops). This one gets into both anime (Dead Apple and otherwise) and manga spoiler territory. You have been warned!

First impression

I’ll be honest, I almost dropped this series a few times because of Dazai. I found the way that they introduced him was very… nonsensical and almost insensitive. It was definitely not what we would qualify as “politically correct” by today’s standards, and his appearance certainly was off-putting as well with the bandages flapping in the wind. He came off as a good-for-nothing scoundrel who was a little distasteful.

Current Impression

Well, he’s certainly changed! He went from being an irresponsible reckless fool to an irresponsible reckless fool with impeccable (and overpowered) intelligence and a purpose!

Favourite moment

Odasaku’s death scene and really any moments with Odasaku (pre and post-death). I know that those scenes were much more of a highlight for Odasaku, but it was also a pivotal moment for Dazai’s character.

Idea for a story

I was just talking about this idea today! It was in response to my BSD Questionnaire (which I’m having a lot of fun reading the answers for)

@dreaming-of-butterflies actually brought it up again (hehe)

I’m about to go on a bit of a tangent. Forgive my awful writing. The last fanfiction I wrote was for Peppa Pig meeting Dazai. I wish I was kidding, but yeah, my last fanfic was Peppa Pig facing off against Dazai.

It was early on a Saturday afternoon with the exhausted sun shining over Yokohama just before the curtain call which would call it a day. The Detective Agency was slow but still running when a man knocked on the door. He opened it apprehensively.

“Is there anything we can help you with, sir?” Atsushi asked.

The man stumbled back slightly. His voice croaked and trembled, “My name is Eliot… Thomas Stearns Eliot.” He glanced over at Atsushi as if there was something right next to him.

“Is something wrong?” Atsushi asked. He looked over to his side. There was no one there.

“It’s just that…” he slowly pointed, “there is a man there.”

“Pardon–”

“He is there. He is a tall stern man in a white coat. He keeps mouthing over and over again, ‘You cannot forgive me.’”

Atsushi staggered and lost his balance. His hands were trembling. Why? What was this man saying? The man from the orphanage, the headmaster, was there? He was dead! He was ecstatic about it. Words couldn’t form from his mouth.

“Atsushi? What’s wrong?” Tanizaki asked.

“I knew he was dead. He’s dead.” Atsushi mumbled under his breath.

The man was frazzled, “My ability… it’s called Until Human Voices Wake Us. It requires me to pass on messages from people who are dead. I must say these things or else something within me will vanish. If I ignore a spirit’s request to make contact, I lose a memory from my past. I want to know how to remove it! That’s why I came here! I want this ability gone! It has ruined too many people. I can’t take it anymore.”

“You!” he pointed to Kyouka who was on the opposite side of the room. “You have two people standing by your side. They look just like you.” He paused, “Your parents… they truly loved you. They are so happy for you. They say they are sorry for not being able to stay by your side. They wanted to protect you… they really wanted to protect you.” The man was now crying a little. “They said that they love you more than anything in the world and that they wish that they could’ve done something different than to spare you the pain of witnessing their deaths. ‘Please forgive us Kyouka. We promise to never leave your side. We will always love you.’”

Dazai walked into the room. The man flinched. The man opened his mouth, “There is a man with reddish brown hair next to you.” Dazai’s eyes opened wide. He had eavesdropped on the conversation, but he didn’t know that Odasaku would be at his side, not at a time like this.

“The man standing next to you… he has five kids, four boys and a girl. He’s smiling. He’s saying, ‘I’m proud of you.’” He was about to say more when Dazai placed his hand on the man’s shoulder nullifying his ability. Dazai looked like he had tears in his eye but not a single one was shed.

Unpopular opinion

I wish Ranpo got more of a spotlight than Dazai for his intelligence and capabilities. Ranpo is the smartest, but they always rely on Dazai to compete and solve all these problems. He’s always the one facing off with Fyodor and giving the exposition on “how we solved this”. I want to see Ranpo doing it because we don’t always get enough of it, and Ranpo is more than an ongoing side plot that plays into the main story. We need our crime-solving sleuth back! Dazai can be smart and he can solve things, but let’s not lose focus on the true #1 detective!

Favourite relationship

I can go on about Dazai and Atsushi, but I think that ones really clear on why their dynamic is so great. This time, I’m going to focus on the Dark Era Trio and Odazai!

I’m going to be copying and pasting a lot of my previous post’s points. [Source] (also, sorry for OP because looking back on it, I completely hijacked their post and I’m really sorry for that)

Dazai still lives in the same body and soul that he did when he was in the Mafia. Despite moving from the Port Mafia to the ADA, he couldn’t pull the complete 180 on himself. He still lives in a shadow of his previous actions, and that’s why he truly doesn’t believe he’s a good person.

Odasaku saw that good in Dazai even during his darkest moments. If he didn’t believe in Dazai, he wouldn’t have told him to be on the side that saves people. Odasaku saw Dazai beyond his depression, suicidal urges, and the suffering he’s been through. He trusted him to carry on the legacy he left behind.

Dazai still can’t completely get over the death of his best friend. Look at the first set of screenshots.

Dazai: “Does it look like I’m visiting a grave to you?”Atsushi: “It does. [Why?]”

That look on his face is shock. He is still shaken. He still hangs and loiters by Odasaku’s grave as if he’s still alive. It’s not like he’s expecting him to get up, but he acts like he’s still existing.

Dazai, to me, is one of those people that would buy a crab and a plate of curry. He would place the curry on the gravestone of Odasaku. He eats some of the crab he brought for himself. He brings some alcohol. He talks to him all night and says all that has happened. He talks about the agency, Atsushi, Kunikida, and he talks about how he misses the trio. He admits he didn’t know what Ango has been up to.

Ango himself isn’t over the death either. Ango is the one who covered for the both of them so that Dazai would be able to leave the Mafia.

“I made use of it only once. Four years ago… so that Dazai-kun could live outside the Mafia. I erased his past sins.”“Why did you get your hands dirty only once?”“For a friend who is no longer here. To repent, at least minimally, for my sins to him.”

Favourite headcanon

As previously mentioned, Dazai sits by Oda’s grave and has a meal.

Another mini-excursion because I feel like it. Again, forgive my awful writing because I really can’t write (probably because I don’t read).

“Yo Odasaku!” Dazai leaned against the grave of Sakunosuke Oda. He placed a plate of curry on the opposite side of the grave. Dazai tore open the shell of a crab and began eating it. Two glasses of alcohol were placed.

“Be on the side that saves people,” Dazai mumbled. “You know, the Detective Agency is a lot better than the Mafia! There are all kinds of fun people, and best of all, I don’t have to deal with that asshat Chuuya! You know, I got to blow up his car before I left. Thank goodness for Ango.” He paused and took a bite and a swig. “Speaking of Ango, I still really miss us. Lupin just isn’t the same without you. I haven’t talked to Ango in ages either… the guy works for the government now too.” He sighed then smiled, “But yeah, the Detective Agency is great! Chuuya isn’t there, Ranpo is the world’s greatest detective, I get to mess with Kunikida, Shachou is so cool, Yosano used to be in the Mafia but managed to escape, and Atsushi… you would love Atsushi! He’s so naive and difficult, he cries so often, but his heart… it reminds me of yours.”
