guys im too obsessed with diluc... its 6am...
anyway archer diluc where he's actually not a good shot as a kid because his eyes are a lil blurry so crepus just makes the target a bit bigger
archer diluc where he gets bruises on his arms because the string would hit it when he releases (totally not projecting here sorry)
archer diluc where he feels better about his skills after he takes out a hilichurl with a headshot because his sword wasn't available to him at that time
archer diluc who, as his teen years kick in, treats archery as a hobby than a weapon he'd actually use because he liked close combat more. he would have very accurate aim and the bow wasn't heavy in his hands anymore (claymores are waaay heavier)
archer diluc who hasn't picked up a bow in a really long while as he rose in the ranks of favonius. he only picks it up a few times in snezhnaya as warning for the fatui
archer diluc treating his bow like an old friend, using it as a form of focus, release, and clarity. after all, he wouldn't dare lose his target.
bonus under the cut
archer diluc teaching you how to shoot for the first time and while you're not flimsy with it, he puts you against his chest and holds the bow with you. you can feel his breathing against you
archer diluc who kisses your forehead (or pats your head for platonic diluc likers) whenever you hit on or near the bullseye
archer diluc who's happy and eager to teach you one of his first combat trainings. and if you're better than him, he just admires you more

-first off, we all love putting venti through more trauma, dont we? If you dont like that sort of thing, this is your cue to keep scrolling-
Read the tags for trigger warnings.
Albedo and diluc have been caught by treasure hoarders. And it's up to traveler and venti to save them. So they went to the place they were being held. Naturally, a fight breaks out, venti and traveler against a room filled to the brim with treasure hoarders. The leader of those is standing on a slightly elevated platform, with 2-3 archers.
Venti and Traveler have the upper hand. So the leader of the treasure hoarders orders the archers to fire, diluc tries to talk them out of it, bad idea, you don't want venti angry.
"Hah! What's he gonna do, catch the arrow himself?"
From his perspective, venti is slightly behind and to the left of traveler. And the archers fire. Now venti turns to them and can see, in extreme slow motion because of the panic, two arrows flying towards the traveler.
And the traveler turns towards the leader, by now, the arrows are too close to dodge, and venti thinks "doesn't that scene seem... familiar."
Now venti is seeing a live repeat of his best friends death. And the arrows are so close to hit the traveler in the chest, except- they don't.
In front of the traveler, slightly to the right from their point of view, stands Barbatos. Floats Barbatos in all his archon glory, with two arrows held in his hands.
He breaks them. They fall to the floor. Diluc tells the leader "i told y-" before he stops because he heard a very sickening crunch.
Seems like arrows aren't the only thing Barbatos is willing to break.
Then he flies back to the traveler, hugs them, holds their face in his hands and asks "are you okay, friend-"
Upon which he breaks down crying because he realised, that's not his friend. And it will never be. And what happened can't be undone.
So he cries and cries, falls to his knees and cries more, because that's not a wisp, or an archon or a bard.
That's just a man who's thoroughly broken.

hiii other jrwi and genshin fan & i fucking loove jrwi genshin here r my thoughts :)
jay - anemo bow - self explanatory, gets a gun in burst
chip- pyro sword - can use dual swords, just have one be different than other. burst probably shoots a canon or smthn
gillion - electro claymore - burst reliant character that focuses on shielding other characters at cost of health
dakota- pyro catalyst - very hard to get out from the heizou vibe but there r so many types of martial arts so i feel like it can b different enough
vyncent - hydro polearm?? - changes between stances like childe - man i do not know his weapon but polearm seems fun
william - cryo catalyst - similar life suck mechanic to hu tao or xiao
AWESOME AWESOMEAWESOME i was also thinling anemo for jay!! i wasnt sure if i was on the right track there since i dont know much abt the lore implications of anemo but im glad u agree. i think shed be a charged shot fiend like ganyu to match the sureshot title ^_^ has a marking mechanic similar to childe that gives her bonus dmg on her ult (my version of hunters mark) and her ult is similar to dilucs in that it is a massive fucking bird like her zephyr strike. noo clue what her skill would be though
chip gave me sooo much trouble i think.god. riptide spoilers ahead i guess but his skill could turn his single sword to dual blades where one is entirely pyro similar to the blades he gets from rufus? i cant fully remember how they work though. mechanically its either be a set duration like xingqius rainswords or it could be a stance change like childe.burst i have absolutely nothing but i thought also about giving him a skill similar to rosarias that lets him teleport behind opponents since a) kaeya has teleportation bc of his abyss connections, chip has connections to the black sea, kinda similar there i think it would be a neat parallel, b) chip goes behind people fucking CONSTANTLY a large ampunt of his attacks are him attacking from the front then flipping over them to get their back too and c) literally in the mnm oneshot his power was teleportation. though i suppose that could just be in his na string like kaeya and still be cool
gillion electro IS SO COOL... i had him hydro since like its His Thing but i cant remember anythingg about the reasonings for electro visions so i wasnt sure if i could go for it. thank you also for reminding me the word claymore i can never remember it either. i had his skill down as similar to shinobus too (with elements of barbaras so it reduces incoming dmg too) but with a burst more like .. raidens skill? provides a damage buff to the active character along with dealing damage maybe and his healing would scale off attack
dakota i have said enough about but i really do think pyro catalyst maryial artist could be cool if i like. knew enough about heizous kit to make them different enough
vyncent i am at a LOSS for. most of my vision knowledge is about cryo and i know he isnt that. i had him as sword just because its the shortest range and the closest to a dagger?? stance change to archer is a must but i do also wanthim to be able to change to claymore? and even catalyst? but i cant mechanically come up with ANYTHING. maybe he just has unlimited stance changes with like. a 5 sec cooldown between shifts? that deals some dmg every time he shifts just automatically. i would like his ranger/archer form to have an infusion to make them similar to yoimiya because i think that would be cool but such is life. his burst would be different dependimg on what stance hes in when he casts it, sometimes its healimg sometimes its a buff field sometimes its pure dmg, etc
william cryo catalyst FOR REAL. a lifesteal mechanic is so fucking sick i didnt think of that before. i thought about him a lot i def think his wisp form would be his ult. his skill would be some sort of construct (ie ghostshaping) similar to something like albedo or zhomglis that deals damage and debuffs enemies while hes off field and then comes out for his burst. i think a life drain like xiaos would be coolest, he def does a lot of charged atks during his ult so incread atk speed is in there too + resistence to interruption and maybe even a shield?? like yanfeis c4

Genshin College AU: Part 3
Tumblr media
Author's Note: This is my depiction on what I think Genshin characters would be like in present day college.
⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄⑄
🐶 Gorou:
Tumblr media
The bubbly freshman is always looking for a way to improve himself. With the help of Beidou and Itto, he works hard on coming up with new strategies for his next game. In his downtime, you can spot him in the outdoor classroom with his bow in hand. Sometimes, He’ll have a friendly competition with his fellow archer, Yoimiya. No matter if he wins or not, he is happy to hang out with someone with the same interest.
From time to time, Gorou will get roped into tactic planning with Kokomi as she comes up with a new speech for her fellow orchestration team. He doesn’t mind it though; he likes to see what is coming up for the school and how he can help. During the afternoons, Kazuha will usually bring him some tea after basketball practice and they’ll chat at the picnic tables outside. On rare occasions, Junior Ayaka will join them, bringing along a bag of lemon cookies that Thoma helped her make.
As friendly as Gorou is with everyone, he can also get very flustered when put on the spot. One time, when helping the Poet’s Society collaborate with the drama club, one of the monolouger’s got sick. As a volunteer from the book team, Yae Miko recommended the role to Gorou. As much as he wanted to say no, Venti’s constant begging got him to cave. As soon as the spotlight landed on him on the dimmed out stage, he passed out right on the spot. After an hour of him remaining unconscious, the directors collectively decided to take the monologue out of the final performance.
Gorou is one of those friends that is easy to hang out with. No matter if it's shopping for a whole day or staying indoors eating packaged ramen, he's just content with being with you. If you ever need assistance on something, he'll try his best to help!
❄️ Kaeya:
Tumblr media
Kaeya is one of those students everyone wants to be friends with. As one of the main influencers in the school, and as the captain of the tennis team, the senior male prioritizes his time on the younger levels. He feels it’s his responsibility to motivate and push the efforts of those below him, as if it was his final stance for the university. Much to the dismay of senior Diluc, many of the freshmen look up to his eccentric brother. On the off chance that he is not involved with the gym, Kaeya uses his smarts when called to the strategy planning meetings put on by Jean.
Although he was selected as one of the leading officers on tactic blueprints for upcoming programs, he tends to procrastinate and mess around with Childe and Ayato. Kaeya is clever, fortunately, and knows his way around stressful situations he puts himself in. Bennett likes to mention often that Kaeya helps him with this problem too. Sadly, Kaeya doesn’t really use his witty nature when he really needs to, especially when it comes to being Albedo’s guinea pig.
“What’s the worst that can happen? I get sick?” He jokes when someone voices their concern about the upcoming biochemist, “If that does happen, I’ll use it to my advantage.”
As affable as Kaeya is, you can understand why many are confused when he brings up the asocial Rosaria into conversation. Most nights, they can be spotted hitting the town to grab a few drinks with some buddies. Honestly, maybe it’s not that surprising as you get to know them a little more…
Many students don’t question Kaeya’s words considering his great relationships with some of the council members. The senior uses the gullibility of the undergraduates in his favor, using that sultry voice of his to get what he wants. Kaeya is manipulative with his following, but it’s all light fun! It’s not like he would use the special born gift to be malicious, unless you’ve wronged him in any way… The only person who can catch on to Keaya’s lies is Albedo, but it’s not like he’ll do anything on the matter.
If you're looking for a good time, Kaeya is a good candidate! He knows many cool hang out areas that can distract you from the stresses of life. Hopefully you don’t mind him tagging along, he gets rather bored by himself.
⚖️ Keqing:
Tumblr media
Keqing is the justice junior, making sure that everyone has equal chances when it comes to curriculum. She’s always on the move, whether it be traveling with the volleyball team or getting prepared for the next discussion put on by the debate team. It’s not surprising that the youthful girl went into civil law; she’s always finding ways to block up any wrongdoings that are going on around the school, even if one of the other student council members already looked into the situation multiple times.
You can find Keqing hanging out with Ganyu in the auditorium during the morning hours. She calls it a study session, but anyone can tell that’s the only time she has to spend with her close friend. As one of the board members sponsored by the school, she normally has to sit with the student council. During those times, she finds herself chit-chatting with Nigguang or Jean as the band blasts their introduction for the pep rally.
As caring as Keqing is for the student body, she can get a bit carried away when it comes to her duties. Once, when investigating a matter where someone was taking props from the theater closet for their own interest, she found Itto’s posse goofing around in the enclosed area. Though it wasn’t a huge matter, up to that point Keqing had a hard time finding the perpetrators. In her frustration, she took a few handcuffs featured in one of the performance bins and barred them to the shelving that was screwed to the cemented floor. She left them there until a teacher could officially reprimand them.
Whenever there is a problem, Keqing is one the best people to go to. Though she can’t deal with everything personally, she’ll do what she can before handing the situation to someone trusting, like Yelan or Yanfei.

The Darknight Hero
Ship: Diluc x April | Word Count: 1291 | Warnings/Tags: Canon-Typical Violence (AKA Hilichurls) like that’s it
A/N: Here’s another fic since I need get these things posted. This is April’s first encounter with the mysterious Darknight Hero. I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
April sighs softly as she stares out over Cider Lake. She doesn't often get to come sit and watch the water like this, but it's a lovely evening and she had the time, so why not?
The lateness of the hour does mean she'll likely have to sleep in in the morning, but she's already made peace with that. (Not that she views it as much of a hardship - taking commissions at the Adventurer's guild offers much more flexibility than a regular job after all).
The only thing that would make this more enjoyable is if Diluc were by her side. However, he's always busy and it's late, so she's hoping he's getting some sleep instead of spending the whole night working again.
Now that she's thought of him once, her thoughts won't stray far from Diluc, and a small smile spreads across her face as she thinks about her boyfriend. Being able to call him that, even in her own mind, makes her giggle softly.
Caught in her thoughts as she is, she brushes off the sound of footsteps a couple feet behind her as being one of the knights. Their patrol doesn't normally come out this far, but that has to be what it is, right?
The next sound causes her to freeze for a split second before scrambling forward. Her movements are sluggish as she hadn't expected to be attacked by a hilichurl this close to the city.
April whirls around in time to throw her hands up in a protective stance in front of her. The hilichurl's attack hits her arm and she winces. It could be worse than a simple scratch on her arm, though, so she's grateful for her reflexes.
She turns on her heel and races off, trying to buy time so that she can summon her catalyst and fight back. However, there's a gentle whoosh along with a burst of heat followed by the hilichurl screaming.
When she turns, a dark-clad figure is taking out a few other hilichurls that she hadn't noticed. A few are archers and she's grateful none of them had decided to shoot while her back was turned.
This must be the infamous Darknight Hero of Mondstadt. She's heard the townspeople talking about him before, but brushed their words off as rumors since she's never seen him herself. But here he is. And he saved her.
Once the hilichurls have all been defeated, the hero comes to stand in front of her. This confuses April a little. From the others' words, the Darknight Hero always leaves the scene as quickly as possible once everything's over. Why would he approach her?
She gets the oddest bit of familiarity as he looks her over, his eyes landing on the injury on her arm. He frowns and reaches for her arm, the softness of the grip reminding of her of how delicately Diluc touches her.
In fact, the Darknight Hero reminds her way too much of Diluc. It's almost uncanny. Flaming red hair, red eyes, a pyro vision… Unless there's someone else in Mondstadt that fits this description, April thinks she knows the true identity of the Darknight Hero. No one else makes sense.
His fingers wrap gently around her wrist and tugs until she falls into step behind him. A small smile spreads across her face at the idea he doesn't want to talk so he doesn't give away his voice.
Not that she needs any other hints as to who he is.
He walks her back to her house and she almost expects him to disappear when she opens the door. "You can come in." She murmurs softly and he nods. He does follow her inside and she laughs when he has her sit down while he searches for the first aid kit.
How quickly he finds it is another confirmation that this man is her boyfriend. It's not like she keeps the kit hidden, but he heads straight to its location without even looking around.
Is he trying to be subtle at this point? Or is he so worried about her that it's slipping his mind to be cautious in giving away his identity?
The latter thought warms April's heart and brings a smile to her face. He returns to her once he has the kit and sits down beside her, waiting until she offers her arm up to start taking care of the wound.
"I know it's you, Diluc." April says quietly after a few moments. He immediately fumbles and drops what's in his hand and she giggles. "You really think I wouldn't know my boyfriend, mask or not?"
Diluc huffs softly, the sound almost a snort. "I should have known better, yes. Still, you're the only one that's figured it out." Aside from Kaeya, he doesn't say, but that scenario is something different.
April giggles more. "Really? Come on, you're the only one in Mondstadt with that vibrant red hair and people can't tell??"
Diluc chuckles softly. "I think they like the mystery." He says quietly. "It doesn't matter. It makes my job easier."
"I bet." April says, leaning back as she watches him bandage the cut. "Still, I won't tell anyone. I promise."
"Thank you." Diluc murmurs softly, brushing his fingers over the bandage. If only he had gotten there faster… maybe she wouldn't be hurt.
Another time he wasn't able to protect the person he loves.
"Hey." Her voice breaks him out of his thoughts. Her expression is warm and it makes the guilt sting a little less. "There you are."
"Sorry." He mutters softly, blinking when she reaches up with her good arm to cup his face.
"You don't have to be. Everyone gets lost in thought occasionally." She says and there's something to her expression that lets him know she gets exactly where his thoughts had gone. "But I wanted you to promise something. Not in exchange for me keeping your secret, I'll do that regardless, but it'll make me feel better about this whole thing."
"What is it?" He asks. Anything. He'll do anything for her. And if it'll bring her comfort, then it's of utmost importance to him.
"If you're ever injured while protecting Mondstadt or if you're out late enough that you can't safely return to the winery, I want you to come here. Please." His heart nearly breaks at how worried she sounds on that please.
She just wants him safe essentially. She doesn't want him to stop his duties, not that he really would've anyway, but she wants to offer a safe haven to him. The thought is enough to make his eyes prick with tears under the mask.
"Of course. If you're sure it won't be a bother." He says and her resulting expression is so indignant, it nearly makes him laugh.
"It won't be." April says, her voice full of conviction. "Besides, I know if I were out late near the winery, you'd want me to do the same and it wouldn't be a bother to you, so trust that it won't bother me in the slightest."
"Alright. Well, I still have things I need to take care of tonight." He says and she nods. "We still on for tomorrow night?"
April's smile makes his heart flutter. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." She says and he chuckles softly, brushing a kiss to the top of her head.
"Get some sleep." He says and she nods.
"Be safe out there."
"I will."
With that, they head their separate ways. April heads into her bedroom and Diluc leaves her house to return to his protection of Mondstadt.
Somehow, both are aware of how important this night's events were. It feels like it's brought them closer.

couldn't ask just one oops
It’s ok 👍 thank you for the questions, this was fun to think about ^^
Favorite party?
Ufff, that’s hard,
I have 3 teams
1. Diluc, Kaeya, Shogun, Bennett
2. Xiao, Zhongli, Sayu and Albedo
3. Childe, Kazuha, Zhongli and Bennett.
Tho right now I’m using, Tignari, shogun, kazuha and Kokomi as main Sumeru team
The character you don’t have but you so so want?
Jean or Ganyu. I love archers and I got her bow but also want them both for their name cards. They’re so pretty.
Least favorite Character?
Dori. I can’t like her design and when I saw her gameplay I got excited, but honestly she was just not a character I could like. Her overall design even gameplay wise is bad to me.
Least favorite nation?
Mondstat..? Honestly all nations have their own thing, but I feel like Mond is incomplete right now. It’s not like I hate it, but is like…a puzzle that lacks one piece to be finished. So I wanna see it complete.
Favorite enemy?
Childe. He’s so fun to play. He is hard enough and he’s easy enough and the patterns of his attacks can be broken sometimes. He’s amazingly designed, he is a lot of fun.
Least favorite enemy?
Right now it must be Shogun. She’s quite hard but is super rewarding when you do beat her. Character wise I adore shogun but I would like to see a Scara confrontation and an Ei that’s scorned.
What do you think of paimon?
Emergency food.
No, actually I’m doing an experiment. I have 2 accounts and in one of them I make a lot of jokes about paimon whenever the opportunity arises and/or choose the option that shows suspicion about her, while in the other Im relentlessly defending of her. Im doing all this because I believe it could be something that leads to a different ending.
I started getting the idea when I saw you could see the record of missions in the archive. And I thought it was really useless to have such a feature, because it’s not like we can go back and change what we say, so what’s the point of knowing which option we chose?
Unless it is important and we don’t know it.
I’m suspicious of her, if I’m honest with you. Why does she keep floating around when time stops? Or why does she know so much, but so little about this world, at the same time? What is she?
I have my theories, whether she is Istaroth that has lost all her believers, a device created by the other twin to look after traveler, the nameless deity, celestia’s key or khaenriah’s god or even it’s enemy, I think all this things are connected with how we interact with her throughout the game and the conclusion is slightly influenced by our choices about our connection to her.
I wish Hoyo stopped putting fillers in their quests and got new options to start investigating on her and more about the abyss order instead of making us waste chances to find information because of plot armor.

Still can't believe I got Kazuha on pity 44 ajdhjad hhh. Now I'll save until there's a banner with a 5* I really want (Zhongli, Klee, Ganyu, Xiao, Hu Tao or Eula, maybe Albedo, Childe or Venti). I really, really need a good main DPS lmao (my current main DPS are Fischl and Razor lmao, I actually have Keqing but apparently she's better at C4 which honestly I'll never have lol), so I should prioritise Ganyu, Hu Tao, Eula or Xiao, though I really want Zhongli. Not sure if any of the new characters are gonna be main DPS, plus honestly none of them have caught my attention (maybe Ayaka though, I need moar Cryo units).
I also finally got C1 Bennet (right after getting Kazuha) so I feel accomplished. (?) Now I only need to get Diona and more constellations for my Sucrose (currently C1 so not bad) and Xingqiu and I'll be set. Other Cryo sub-DPS or supports would be nice too (though I already have Rosaria...), I surprisingly enough don't have the infamous Qiqi lmao, I got Keqing when I lost my first 50/50.

Hello! May i please ask for ‘leaning or moving closer to the person for protection’ for diluc’s birthday event? Thank you so much and please have a lovely weekend <3
diluc’s birthday event | diluc x gn reader | warning: sfw, slight angst
Tumblr media
The room was damp, musky, and smelled like rotting plants. This alone would have been enough to turn back; it made sense why no one wanted to explore this domains. It reeked.
“I’m going to have to wash my clothes.” You complained as you sniffed your jacket and made a face. “Ugh.”
“It should be this way.” Diluc’s voice echoed in the large space, the light from his flame illuminating the dreary walls just enough for you not to trip on anything. It would be a good day when you could breathe fresh air again.
It’s better if you breathe through your nose. Eventually, you’ll grow adjusted to  any scent. Albedo’s voice rang in your head and you thought long and hard about bottling up the air and letting him take a big whiff. The things you did for the adventurers guild.
When you caught up with Diluc, he was inspecting a rather large door. Every domain had a different method of opening, altering, or shifting the layout and sometimes it was the most difficult thing about them. “Do you think it’s that?” You asked, nose pinched with one hand while the other pointed at a large blue stone placed in the wall.
“Ah.” He made his way toward it but made sure to wave you out of the way should something happen. When he touched it, there was a distant rumbling sound but after a few seconds the door slipped into the floor. You waited until he debris settled before walking through the threshold.
“Stay behind me.” You told him with a smirk. It was a little game you liked to play with him. Did it rattle his nerves? Oh absolutely, but did it make you laugh, oh yeah.
“Perhaps I should take point.”
“Come on.” You grumbled, and spun to face him as you walked backwards down the hallway. “We haven’t fought a single thing since we’ve been here. Not even a bug. I’m pretty sure this domain is void of all scary things.”
“Still, we could be a bit more cautious.”
“Look, I’ll make you a deal. If I’m wrong and something does attack us, I’ll do whatever you want. If I’m right and we walk out of here without a single issue, you gotta do whatever I want. Deal?” You stuck out your hand and he rolled his eyes.
“I don’t -”
“Mmmmm.” You shook your hand, tempting him to take it. He reluctantly agreed and you felt so proud of yourself for getting him to cave. “See, easy. Now, what will I ask the ever capable Ragnvindr to do?” Spinning on the ball of your foot, you faced forward and began to list off several wonderful choices when you entered another large room which, just like before, was empty. “Oh I think I’ll cho-WOAH!”
Suddenly, something exploded but you couldn’t catch what it was before a pair of strong arms yanked you backward. The domain wall hit your back but Diluc protected your head from slamming against it as he shielded you with his body.
“What in th-”
“Treasure hoarders.” Diluc’s voice was cold, his frame towering as he pushed you further down and into the safety of the hallway. You watched him summon his claymore while you readied your own.
“What’s the plan.”
“I’ll handle the big ones, can you take out the archers?”
“On it.” Like a pair of expert fighters, you separated and dashed toward your targets. It didn’t take very long for the treasure hoards to scramble and curse their way down the hallway. “Well ... wonder what they were doing down here?” You wondered, peering through the dark hallway until they disappeared completely.
“Probably the same reason we are.” You turned and saw Diluc pull something out of an ornate chest. It was in fact, the reason you were commissioned in the first place. Another score for you.
“Sweet, let’s get it back to Albedo and pick up the rewards.” Diluc nodded at your comment, carefully slipping the items in his bag. “Ah. I’m ready to kick back and relax after that.” You expressed when he made it to your side, hands on your hips as you watched him adjust the bag around his body.
“Don’t forget out deal.”
“W-What deal?” Your brows furrowed, brain tumbled as it tried to figure out what he was saying.
Slowly, and with dangerous precision, Diluc leaned toward you and pressed a kiss to the edge of your lips. It sent a shiver through you but not as much as the expression he had when he pulled away. “You have to do whatever I want, or did you forget?” He whispered, eyes heavy and serious while a proud smirk pulled at his lips and you thought maybe, just maybe, you’d made a terrible deal.

he accidentally hurts you while sparring
Tumblr media
DILUC, KAEYA, XIAO, CHILDE — gn!reader
warnings/genre: kinda hurt/comfort? idk it’s mostly fluffy, mentions of blood and (very) minor injuries, swearing in childe’s
notes: rbs are v much appreciated, please and ty !! also pls ignore that i got carried away w xiao’s </3
Tumblr media
━━ diluc;
you’ll have to be insistent if you even want him to spar with you; he knows you’re fully capable of standing your ground but... he’s worried
he’ll act like he doesn’t, but it’s obvious that he keeps close by whenever you’re sparring with someone
but if you wear him down enough or you’re good with your words, you can convince him to be your sparring partner
lmao just tell him you’ll get kaeya to do it 💀
Tumblr media
“don’t- don’t hold your sword like that.” he said, his tone was flat but you’d known him long enough to be able to find the concern in it.
“i know how to hold a sword, diluc,” you responded. “i asked for a partner, not a teacher, remember?”
red eyes flashed towards you and something like a smile appeared on your lover’s lips. you mirrored it, letting your lips curl into a grin.
“of course,” he said, smallest hint of a playful tone in his voice.
but he was quick, and you may have underestimated just how well trained he was. normally, you could have blocked him. this time, however, you weren’t expecting it and you’d already began to drop your dominant hand to your side.
he noticed that, but he was just a little too late. diluc was used to the momentum of his weapon, but it wasn’t often that he had to stop it. he tried to step back before he hurt you, your name falling from his lips, desperation and worry coating his voice.
and then, just as soon as he’s processed it, his claymore was on the ground and he was watching you crouch and hold your upper arm. your seethe of pain sent guilt rushing through him.
it took him a moment to decide whether or not to go over to you; he wanted to, he really wanted to, but a part of him feared that you didn’t want him near you.
he couldn’t help it though.
“y/n?” diluc’s tone was almost a command, loud but desperate, wanting you to look at him and tell him that you were perfectly fine — wanting that to be the truth.
tears pricked in the corners of your eyes but you looked at him nonetheless. he hated that look in your eyes. seeing you in pain was one thing, but the knowledge that he was the cause of it twisted his heart in unbearable ways.
“i’m ok, diluc,” you said, quieter than you normally would. “just a little scratch, see?”
you moved your hand from where it was holding onto your arm. blood coated your fingers and the clothing surrounding the new wound, but it was clear that the cut wasn’t deep.
he didn’t say anything. his lips were pressed into a thin line as he kneeled beside you. eyebrows pinned in worry and concentration evident in his eyes, he started ripping at your sleeve to get a better look.
“diluc.” you said. your voice was more commanding this time as you moved away from him. why couldn’t he see it really wasn’t so bad?
“i didn’t mean to hurt you.” this time you could see clearly just how distressed he was.
he looked like he was about to cry and he wasn’t the one that’d been hurt. not physically, anyway; you had no idea how his chest hurt, how he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
you stared at him for a little longer. “i said i’m fine. but if it will help you sleep at night, you can come help me clean it, deal?”
“of course, dove.”
━━ kaeya;
he actually likes sparring with you
he doesn’t often get the chance, but whenever both of you are able to, he sees it as time he gets to spend with you
and any time spent with you is never time wasted in his eyes
plus he gets to do the sword under your chin thing and tease you </3
Tumblr media
“dead.” you said proudly, standing over your lover, your sword under his chin.
a playful grin spread across his lips as he let you enjoy your win. you backed away and allowed him to stand up, dust himself off. a stretch of his arms, and then he was picking up his sword to go again.
“ready?” kaeya asked, smirk stretching his lips.
“yeah,” you said, smiling back. your gloved hand tightened around your sword’s hilt; the gloves were making your hands sweaty, your grip loosening. “actually, w-”
“y/n!”
the next thing you realized was a stinging at you side. your hand immediately came to the cut, taking an instinctive step back. the sound of kaeya’s sword hitting the ground met your ears, his hands were on your arms a second later.
“hey, hey, you’re okay.” he tried to sound calm but if was a bad attempt. he crouched down onto the ground, guiding you to sit in front of him. cautious hands grabbed the hem of your shirt, kaeya looking up at you. “can I look, love?”
“yeah, but I’m fine.” you said, though your face was twisted in pain.
his eyes were full of pity when he looked at you, jaw clenching before he lifted your shirt enough to see the wound. on first appearance, it looked worse than it really was.
“see?” you spoke again. “all good.”
he didn’t say anything at first. he just pulled you closer to him, chin hooked over your shoulder, though he was careful not to agitate your cut.
“not really. but it’s okay, we’re gonna get you all better, yeah?”
“kaeya, seriously, i’m fine. you don’t need-”
“y/n.” his voice was still sweet and concerned, but more stern when he spoke this time. “let me take care of you.”
“...fine.”
━━ xiao;
good luck getting him to spar with you in the first place
it doesn’t matter how much you tell him you want to, he’ll keep turning you down
needless to say, you’ll have to play your cards right to get him to agree to it
“what if i hurt you, y/n?”
“i’ll be under-trained and get hurt if you don’t help me.”
“you know i’ll always be there if you call for me.”
“and if you can’t come?”
“...”
Tumblr media
“I don’t think this is a good idea.” he stated simply, eyes narrowing at you. you only threw him a smile.
“what’s the worst that can happen? you won’t even use your real pole arm, you have a stick. you can’t stab me with it, xiao.”
“I would rather not think about ‘stabbing’ you in the first place.” he huffed. “but... you need to be safe, in case one day I can’t keep you safe myself.”
a smile crossed your face as you gripped your weapon, ready for him to start.
you may have miscalculated the power and ability of an adeptus though. you quickly found yourself tired and overwhelmed, just blocking and dodging was almost too much. he could sense your fatigue already, and he was listening for you to call him to stop. xiao was ready to stop on a dime, but he knew that you were stubborn and insistent.
his “pole arm” came close to your side, and he really thought you would dodge this one. you’d done it before. but he felt the wood hit you, you falling to the ground, holding your side soon after.
his make-shift weapon was long forgotten now. he was kneeling beside you in seconds, gentle fingers running along what he was sure was a broken rib. he didn’t find one, but the guilt was already eating him and that knowledge did nothing to stop it.
“ow! that hurts, don’t touch me.” you said, seething in pain and making a pitiful attempt to move away from him.
xiao did not cry.
he didn’t, it just wasn’t something he was accustomed to, and quite honestly he wasn’t sure if adepti could cry. but the idea of you being scared of him started tears to fill his eyes; his chest was tight, and he had this uncomfortable lump in his throat.
“no, no,” you started, propping yourself on your elbows and then sitting all the way up.
you tried to reach and hold his face, to wipe the tears off, but he turned away from you; he kept kneeling, but shifted to a position a little farther away from you. the adeptus made a noise something like a squeak, and it seemed to surprise him. he didn’t wait for you to finish talking, he turned away and looked anywhere except you.
“xiao, baby, that’s not what I meant. you can- I just meant don’t put your hands directly where I got hurt... xiao? can you look at me?”
it took him a few more moments before he turned his head back to you. you knew he wasn’t always the most emotional, but you didn’t think you’d seen him like this before. he hummed, not trusting his voice. still, he wouldn’t look you in the eyes.
“I’m fine, you didn’t hurt me. its just a little bruise, there’s not even blood... I’m not scared of you, xiao, it’s not your fault.”
he stared at you for another moment before he cleared his throat and stood up. “can we at least have someone make sure you’re okay?”
“yeah.”
“...and you won’t ask me to do that again?”
“of course not.”
━━ childe;
he has mixed feelings about sparring with you
of course, it’s an odd form of quality time, but he likes it
plus that means he won’t have to watch you spar with anyone else
but there’s always the risk that you could get hurt
he’s an archer though, so he only “attacks” you with his melee — he thought he was being a lot more careful
Tumblr media
“ready?” childe smiled, twirling one of his weapons around his finger.
“as always.” you said, gripping your own weapon.
“mhm, sweetheart, I’m sure you’re ‘always ready’,” childe said dropped his hands to his sides and stepping closer to you.
you knew what he was trying to do — he attempted to pull this off every time you sparred with him, and you never failed to catch him. seem relaxed, and whenever you thought he wouldn’t, he’d attempt to get the better of you.
this time, however, you were not as quick as you usually were. childe knew that you always saw through this; not once had you’d failed to block him, so maybe he put his trust in his weapons more than he should have.
he stopped when both of you look at the clean, but bloody, cut he’d made. his eyes widened as it sinked in, coming to the realization that he’d hurt you
“y/n- shit, I’m sorry,” he said, panic clear in his voice, though he tried to hide it. his hand was on your shoulder, guiding you to sit on the ground. “are you- you’re okay, it’s not that deep. we’re gonna get that healed and you’ll be fine, yeah?”
for words so reassuring, his panicked tone was saying something along the lines of ‘shit shit fuck dammit, i accidentally hurt my own partner, what the fuck-’
“yeah, it’s no biggie,” you said, smiling a little at him. “it’s just a little cut, I get worse on commissions.”
you knew that later he would claim he was totally calm. in reality, he was trying his best to clean the wound with his vision, and he’d get better help whenever he could get to bubu pharmacy.
“you owe me kisses though, y’know,” you teased.
‘good,’ he thought. ‘they aren’t mad at me.’
“whatever ya want, love.”
“oh? maybe I’ll take cuddles too.”

MASTERLIST
now, childe as a general streamer,,, he’s a whale in every sense of the word
poggers—
so childe as a streamer in general would be one word ;
✨chaotic✨
he would definitely be a variety streamer, but more so for games !!
especially pvp and/or pve games
competitive meta mf—
probably plays LoL, overwatch, apex legends, valorant and minecraft
don’t question the minecraft
he likes mining but has a personal vendetta against the creepers bc once they blew up his mansion
yes, a mansion
ask any of his community and they’ll tell u he spent a full-blown month and a half playing just minecraft to build it, only for it to go down just like that ;-;
his chat loved it tho <//3
he’s played honkai too !! mainly for the pve and grinding bc he’s a whale but uh,,, shhh
his community,,, his community are just a bunch of trolls at this point i cant even lie
they just KEKW, SADGE & COPIUM spam everything and the newer viewers get intimidated until they realise he deserves them all HJGKJHF
especially when he starts getting annoyed by the game,,, his reactions are too good to pass up on gn
typically when he does mario kart streams 👩‍🦯 that shit’s wild when it happens oh my
when he falls in rainbow road 🤡
and especially bc he has his webcam on, his viewers just see him internally dying or wanting to scream
also gets passive aggressive
shit talks everything and everyone when in that mood <//3
for what’s left of his dignity i won’t disclose what happens
definitely gets jebaited a lot too <//3 unfortunately he’s too easy for his chat ;-;
another mf with a massive community except he has a lot of friends (sorry not sorry albedo)
ppl have a love-hate relationship with him tbh; u either love him or hate him
no inbetween
unless u show ur love through bullying him then go off ig
his discord server, twt + yt are also really big too !! also verified on insta
also !!
he has lots of plushies :(( esp whale plushies from his community bc he’s the biggest whale they know <//3
but if u look at his setup, there’s a mini whale plushie on the top of his main monitor (he has 3), one big one (like,,, up to his chin) behind him, a smol on the top of his chair so u can see it above his head, and just more off screen HKJSDHL
they asked for a room tour once and half of it was just whale plushies
the rest were LED lights + shelves of merch & gifts from his community !!
he even has some fanmail (actual wholesome ones that aren’t cursed) pinned on a board too 🥺
also has an ensuite—
when he was eating on stream one time, his chat was sent into an absolute outrage
u know why?
bc he was eating noodles with a fork
bby ;-;
so sometimes he’ll get sent those beginner chopsticks with the finger guides to help him 👩‍🦯
he’s actually made sure to eat with them on stream tho bc he was sent one with a narwhal on top and he thinks it’s cute JHGJKH
nOW ONTO THIS MAN BEING WHIPPED FOR U AS A GENSHIN STREAMER !!!!
herkekle
now, his (also) AR56 ass has been playing since genshin first came out
an og if u will
this man,,, he’s been in love with u even before the game’s official release 🐥
not only were u in the promotional art and trailers, but he was also one of the beta testers so he got to try out ur character first hand in the early stages !!
and when i say he fell hard for u,
i mean it
when the game wasn’t released publicly yet, he wasn’t allowed to disclose any information and ngl, it killed him that he couldn’t talk abt u :((
so all he could do was say this upcoming was really nice so far and subtly brag abt u to everyone JHGKJSDFHLK
when the official ads & promotional art were finally released 🥺🥺 when i tell u he immediately went live talking abt the game and u HKGJHFDK
he didn’t care that he streamed at an ungodly hour bc he’s been waiting for the reveal for so long he needs to let everyone know </3
he retweeted everything from their official twt straightaway, made a yt video based off his spontaneous stream promoting the game + pinged his entire server abt it
yes
his nearly 200k server all got pinged abt this one game bc he’s in love with a character from it
and he has no regrets abt it <33
the day the game was available for download, he stREAMED THE ENTIRE DOWNLOAD PROCESS
while he and his chat were waiting, they decided to watch the trailers and character showcases to get a feel for the game, and played some mario kart to pass the time !!
as soon as the game loaded, he threw mario kart behind him and went on 🐥
he typed his name (ajax) for the when he chose aether and literally everyone was appreciating the aesthetics HKJFS
but childe,,, he was waiting for it to be over so he could see u ;-;
he appreciated the aesthetics, fighting mechanics & voice acting a lot tho !!
now he had gotten through all the tutorials, got all the chests he could he was finally in mond
and there u were 🥺 after the dvalin encounter u arrived before kaeya did
and boy did he show u off sm to his viewers HKJHKLF
they knew he was down bad before but now?? they know it’s hopeless to save him and if he ever falls out of love that’s when the world ends
luckily that’ll never happen tho <33
but he took !! so many !! screenshots !!
oh, and did i mention he changed his wallpapers to u? and his twt + discord pfps are also some very aesthetic screenshots of u from that first scene ;-;
he just appreciates u sm okay 🥺
he even clutched his chest where his heart is and sunk down his chair when he heard u speak 😩
his chat just spammed his downbad + y/nlove + SHRIMP emotes and he accepted them all with grace <33
now when he unlocks the wishing feature,,, u already know he’s wishing for u as soon as possible
ur in the standard banner so ur always there which he appreciates but he would’ve wanted u to be limited so he can rub it in ppl’s faces ;-;
and since it was the first release rewards, he had tons of wishes right off the bat !!
he was gonna roll for venti after he gets u bc,,, well does he need a reason??
also he doesn’t do well with archer characters in general ;;; but if ur an archer then ur obv an exception sooo
bUT he got a 5 star in his first 20 pulls !!
tho it was diluc 👩‍🦯
while he was happy bc he got an incredibly meta character right off the bat,
he wasn’t interested in diluc,,, (even now his diluc is barely looked after, and only used for spiral abyss, *sweats*)
the next 5 star he got was around the 60 mark, and he got a weapon,,,
i mean,,, he got the weapon that was most suited for u so that’s smth at least (ˉ▽ˉ;)
after he used all his remaining primos and fates, he finally got u 🥺
he just went “fuck the storyline” and immediately put u in his party and just
admired u as a whole
went through all the voice lines available, ur character story, ur idle animations (he had a heart attack from u and his chat clipped it) and took many, many screenshots
his favourite voice lines would have to be the night + about us + (y/n)’s hobbies
and then he equipped u with ur weapon and damnnn did u look so good with it 😩
he changed u to be his avatar, with his signature as :
“(y/n)’s whale <3”
and now the whaling process begins 👩‍🦯
after at least £2k, he got u to c6, along with at least 1 copy of all the standard 5 stars,,
then he went for venti’s banner—
his chat were just too focused on how he’s gonna play u to even think of anything else tbh HKJAH
with ur kit, u were honestly seen to be a dps or even a sub dps if ppl don’t want u on the field all the time
so definitely a perfect character for mr meta strimmer tartaglia (his twitch name btw ;;; childe is just smth he prefers his community to call him as but they also call him ajax too HKJSD) here
so he went through the archon quests with u as his carry and i won’t lie, ur name card is smth he has printed and framed behind him after he got it 🥺
he later finds out ur part of the fatui in the liyue archon quest tho and has to fight u with,,,
well, u ;;;
he finds it hot tho so it’s okay—
i won’t lie tho, his zhongli after he got him is his second strongest after u
he just builds all his characters in the most broken way he can so he can show his viewers that everyone can be a dps in their own right, not just the ones meant to be since there’s no right or wrong in this game !!
but now ur weapon is r5, ur lvl 90 and u have lvl 20 5 star artifacts that make u the most broken (y/n) seen
ppl who co op with him are honestly baffled,,, especially when the feature of them being able to view other players’ character stats become available,,,
u with ur nearly 3k atk,,,
he’s hit over 600k with u tho and he’ll always flex that
no one can top him as a (y/n) main and that’s honestly just a fact at this point 😩
when he saw that the dating sim hangouts was official, his immediate and iconic response was simply ;
“so when will (y/n) become a dateable, huh 🤨”
to this day he’s still waiting to be able to date u in-game <//3

Heey saw requests were open so I couldn't help but come check out and ask! Will you be okay if you do a Xiao, Zhongli, Diluc and Childe with a S/O who tries to took a hit for them from getting killed by an enemy?
Xiao, Zhongli, Diluc, and Childe with an S/O who Shields Them From an Attack
☁️ Xiao ☁️
You dragged him along so that he could get some fresh air and help you with your commissions. Xiao would rather stay inside, but you seemed to want to spend time with him so it’s hard to object.
Xiao definitely tried to avoid going with you, but you had kissed his cheek and said it’s more fun if he accompanies you. His weak heart agreed right away.
So not only is he there to provide moral support and company, he’s also there to make sure you’re not going to do anything foolish.
He’s already defeated multiple enemies while you looked through crates for extra materials. If he were mortal, your carelessness probably would’ve shaved a few years off of his life.
He keeps telling you to pay attention and you say you are, but then you turn away and next thing you know an arrow comes whizzing past you.
Xiao’s picking up a damaged mask from the grassy ground, wiping the grime from it, when your shout alerts him. And before he knows it you’re tackling him to the ground.
He’s surprised and a little angry, snapping at you to be more careful. Your grip on his shirt tightens and he wonders what’s gotten into you.
When Xiao places his hand upon your back and finds the arrow sticking out of it, he freezes. You just...shielded him from an attack. And in the process you ended up getting hurt.
Warm blood coats his fingers and you’re doing all that you can to avoid bursting into tears in front of the stern adeptus. He sits up with you, wasting no time in swiftly defeating the archer hilichurl. His anger can be felt in the way he attacks mercilessly, showing no sign of letting up until the hilichurl has fallen to the ground.
Xiao can’t believe you, a mortal, would shield him, an immortal, from an arrow. He knows you love him, but to so readily take a hit for him—it’s surprising.
“You...” He wants to call you stupid, but you were only thinking of his safety. Instead he chooses to pacify you rather than berating you for something that has already happened. “You’re going to be okay. It doesn’t look that bad.
He tends to your injuries to the best of his ability and then will bring you back to Wangshu for further inspection. Once the arrow is pulled out and your injury is cleaned and bandaged, tears finally spring from your eyes. It really, really hurts and you feel bad for making Xiao worry on your behalf.
He’s just relieved you’ll heal normally. But in the future he doesn’t want you to endanger yourself for his sake. After all, he’ll be perfectly fine if he takes a hit that would be fatal to most.
“I just don’t want to see you hurt,” you admit, placing your hand on his shoulder. “I know you’re an adeptus, but it would’ve hurt me more if I’d just let you get hit.”
Xiao sighs, taking your hand in his. “I guess it’s fine... Just don’t do it again, okay?” Deep inside, he’s truly touched that you would throw yourself in front of danger just to protect him, but he doesn’t want this to become a recurring thing for you.
🔶 Zhongli 🔶
You had taken Zhongli out to find some Cor Lapis and other ores you were in desperate need of. He suggested buying them from the locals, but he didn’t bring any Mora and you knew of a few abandoned mines where you could get them for free.
With that logic cemented into place, you and Zhongli headed off for the areas you had marked on your map.
It wasn’t a difficult trip; the two of you worked diligently in clearing any enemies that got in your way and eventually you had made it to the first cave.
Zhongli was reciting the history of Liyue caves and their monetary benefits while you climbed over rubble and debris from past accidents. You’d almost tripped once, but he had caught you out of reflex, seemingly unbothered with your clumsiness.
All was going well. You’d mined a lot of ores with Zhongli’s help and the two of you were about to move onto the next cave when the ground above seemed to shake. Briefly, you glanced up, wondering what could be causing such a disturbance.
“We should be careful. There might be a Ruin Hunter around,” you told him as you navigated through the winding tunnel. Zhongli nodded in agreement with that, easily stepping over fallen stones.
Before you knew what was happening, the entire cave was shaking as another loud explosion resonated from above. Debris from above trickled down like snow and you cowered for a moment, expecting a cave-in.
It was silent for a few minutes and you figured the threat must’ve passed. Zhongli waited for a moment as he listened to the silent, musty air.
Just as you breathed your sigh of relief, the ground shook ten times harder than before, and stones larger than the ores you had mined were raining down at once.
The initial shock was more than enough to have you running for the entrance, pulling a very confused Zhongli along. A stone larger than your foot comes falling, and it’s about to hit Zhongli on the head.
To avoid an accident, you shove him to the front and the rock hits you instead of him. Luckily, it wasn’t on the head, but it did hit your ankle hard.
You’re worried you’ve sprained it after you fall to the ground, more stones pelting you. The next thing you know, Zhongli picks you up in his arms and carries you out of the cave before it can collapse entirely on the both of you.
Concerned for your safety, Zhongli observes your injuries. You’re bruised and your ankle does look sprained. He asks if you can stand and when you try he frowns. It looks like you’re going to need to rest up for a few days.
Zhongli will help you the rest of the way back, occasionally stopping so you can give your legs a rest. He expresses his gratitude and is rather surprised that you would go out of your way to take the hits of many stones and rocks.
Despite being thankful, Zhongli hopes you won’t do this again because he doesn’t like to see you in pain. If you’re hurt, he feels hurt and that’s the last thing he wants.
🔥 Diluc 🔥
A group of slimes were hanging around the winery again and so Diluc went off to deal with the problem. He didn’t expect there to be so many, though.
You had tagged along just in case something like this were to happen. And even though Diluc is strong enough to handle so many enemies, these slimes just kept coming.
It was difficult to deal with all sorts of different slimes: Electro, Anemo, and even Cryo. Despite the fact that he didn’t want you to endanger yourself—he insisted he could handle it—you still did what you could to help.
Once you were certain all the slimes were defeated, Diluc sighed, leaning against his weapon to relax after so much fighting. His back was turned and he didn’t notice the large slime creeping up on him.
You jumped in just in time to prevent the slime from hurting him. It had been a quick reaction, one that you hadn’t thought through entirely.
The Cryo slime is freezing to the touch and as soon as it hits you an icy cold envelops you. You try to look strong in front of Diluc, but it’s just too much and you fall to your knees, shivering while the slime looms over you.
Diluc witnessed the entire thing when he first noticed you jump into action and he’s very surprised to find that last slime. He defeats it at once before dropping down to check your injuries.
You aren’t exactly wounded, but you are very cold. He’s ashamed at himself for not paying closer attention to his surroundings.
While Diluc is grateful that you protected him, he’s disappointed that you’d put yourself in harm’s way. You should’ve just let the slime hit him.
He sheds his coat and drapes it over you, using his own Pyro element to start a fire that’ll have you warm in no time.
“You didn’t have to do that. But...thank you. Next time don’t do anything reckless. You’ll hurt yourself,” he says while checking your body temperature.
“But I wanted to keep you safe, Diluc! You already defeated so many slimes. That last one could’ve done some serious damage.”
He’s touched that you’d worry about him, but he doesn’t want you to do something like that again. It’s upsetting that you got harmed as a result of him and he wants to make sure you’re truly okay.
You drag Diluc under his coat so that his body heat can warm you up faster. And even though he tries to get out of it, he doesn’t complain too much.
It’s hard to be upset at the person he loves so much, especially if they were the one who protected him.
💧 Childe 💧
You and Childe were picking through some ruins, searching for chests and other valuable materials. You were careful to avoid any enemies, as the last thing you wanted to do was fight a bunch of slimes and hilichurls.
Childe fought them in your place, eagerly defeating them while you remained on the sidelines.
Everything was going well until the two of you stumbled upon a Ruin Guard that was slumped over, docile and not yet awake. Childe looked over at you and then at the Ruin Guard and then back at you, grinning madly the entire time.
You could only face palm and shake your head, grabbing his arm and gesturing in another direction. You’d encountered enough monsters today; you definitely didn’t want to waste your energy on a rust bucket. But Childe, who had only been fighting small enemies up until this point, was itching for a bigger opponent.
So he rushed ahead despite your quiet protests. And you were stuck having to watch as he sparred with the Ruin Guard.
You would’ve left it up to him if you hadn’t noticed the second Ruin Guard awakening from its slumber, having been disturbed by the commotion.
One Ruin Guard was already an issue, but now you’ve got to deal with two. You can only sigh as you run in to defeat the second one, hoping it won’t take up too much of your time.
Missiles are everywhere; they’ve nearly destroyed the ground and have cracked the already eroded stone pathways. You’ve nearly fallen victim to them a few times now and if it weren’t for Childe’s quick thinking you would’ve been crushed by their mechanical feet.
The first Ruin Guard falls before the two of you in a heap of exhausted, overheated gears and Childe twirls his bow, a glint of madness of his gaze.
You would’ve called it a day if it weren’t for the other Guard aiming for him, missiles completely locked onto his form.
Without thinking, you jump into action, pushing Childe away before he can be hit. In the process, the missiles slam into the rock formation above you and it comes tumbling down in a dusty rumble.
Now it’s Childe’s turn to save you and he’s quick on his feet, pulling you away before you can be buried under heavy stone. The two of you tumble and you scrape your arms and legs in the fall, doing all that you can to shield your boyfriend before he seriously injures himself.
A particular sharp piece of rubble slices the length of your arm and while Childe recovers to finish off the Ruin Guard you clutch your injured arm to stop the blood flow.
Once the Ruin Guard is defeated, Childe goes over to you, bending down to get a look at your arm. “It’s definitely going to need some work,” he jokes, hoping to put a smile on your face. “Don’t worry. I’ll have it patched up in no time. You can count on it.”
And while he wraps it up, he thanks you for your help. Without it, he would’ve been the one with more injuries than you. And even though he doesn’t mind getting hurt in a battle he doesn’t want you to injure yourself as well. So next time you want to protect him, make sure you won’t hurt yourself in the process!

Windblume Memories [Genshin Impact]
Tumblr media
Synopsis: “The annual Windblume festival held in the name of romance and freedom! Why not celebrate it with your lover?”
Characters: Kaeya, Diluc
(A/N): A self-indulgent headcanon because Mihoyo has yet to give us more moments with our husbandos. Just imagining them having fun and enjoying, mah heart~~ And no Mihoyo, if you bother giving us their quotes why can’t you just give us a hangout already (cri cri)
------------------------------------------------------
{Diluc}
“I do know how to play music. Is it so strange?"
• As the most eligible (former)bachelor of Mondstadt, it wouldn't be a surprise if he actually knew the ways of an instrument. But here you were, comepletely awestruck while looking expectantly at your fiance.
• "Diluc you're so perfect I love you!" -you probably
• Back in the days when he took his etiquette lessons, Diluc also learned how to play the violin as well as the piano but the lyre was a traditional instrument of Mondstadt so he focused on that the most.
• His repitoire would lean more to the soft and solemn pieces. (Like his soundtracks HA)
• Diluc is quite shy when you ask him to give you a performance but the way you just plead, he can't say no
• If you don't know how to play an instrument, he'll be more than glad to help you. He's an excellent teacher due to the vast amount of patience he has (thought can't really say the same for other people) and could spend hours elaborating on the same place you've been stuck at.
"Why is this song so slooooow?"
"You're being too hasty, love."
• You're worried if he's bored but Diluc reassures that he isn't. Seldom does he have the opportunity to spend time with you like this so he makes sure to treasure every moment (Even when you're about to break the goddam lyre out of frustration).
• But when you do manage to make it to the end after several attempts, albeit still terrible, there would be the stupidest fat grin on your face while chanting, "I did it! I did it!"
• And he'd praise you as a soft expression graces his features, "You certainly did."
• Soft man I cri
"It takes a long period of training to become a battle-ready archer. These games are only enough to pass the time."
• "No Diluc, I brought you here to have fun not to have this as a training session."
• This man can do pretty much ANYTHING and literally win you any prize. You want that stuffed toy? Consider it taken.
• Perhaps the activities weren't challenging enough. Whether it'd be wind gliding or the peculiar wonderland house, he's got the reflexes for it all.
• Since Diluc is so battle oriented, he treats the games as such. You call him a worry wart after falling into the pit just because you steped on the wrong stone: "Diluc I’m fine. Its just a game." He’ll grab you out of pure instinct and apologize shortly after when you pout at him
• Eventually Diluc learns to loosen up while still keeping an eye at your stance. You figured it would probably be best if you two stuck with something more light and carefree. In a nutshell, anything but the peculiar wonderland house.
• At the end of the day, the two of you are exhausted from all that workout. While closing up Angel's Share after a long night, Diluc catches you falling asleep at the front bar and gently drapes his coat over your shoulders.
• His initial plan was to wake you up since the ideal place to sleep would be the Dawn Winery but Diluc didn't have the heart to wake you up. He simply sits on the stool beside you while leaning down to memorize your serene look, thankful to have been able to experience what it's like to live in a city of freedom again.
{Kaeya}
"Oh dear, is this what they call a height advantage? I suppose I can go a little easy on you all to make things a bit more exciting."
• You gave him that look where you weren't quite sure if he was lying or telling the truth. Could the Cavalry Captain be afraid of heights? You'll never know.
• So regardless, you guys decided to fly together which at first was meant to be a competition of who can collect the most flowers. You managed to land safely with the highest score while your boyfriend was still behind, trying to avoid the dusty balloons.
"Seems like I went a little too easy on you," he jests. You roll your eyes.
"Alright, let's go for another round then."
• This time you had a different idea. Just a few seconds before the game started, you took him by the hand and jumped straight off the platform. The whole time as the two of you were soaring through the air, you held him tight.
• "Now it shouldn't be so scary anymore!"
• The surprised expression he had lasted for a moment before melting into a smile, "How very cunning of you, darling."
• Your security gave him the chance to admire the scenery from the skies, it was a breathtaking view. How your hair whips beautifully against the wind and your pink-tainted cheeks from the cold, breathtaking.
• Though, holding the other meant you had to collect the flowers with one hand and one arm which proved to be very unproductive. Even once the both of you landed within the garland of windwheel asters, Kaeya was still holding your hand.
• Kaeya often treats fearful situations as thrilling experiences but the outcome in the end turned out to be more favourable than he had initially planned it to be. Though if you’re a novice windglider beware, this man will let you go at random times just so he can see your reactions.
"What an interesting diversion. Since everyone's in high spirits, it would truly be a shame if I didn't pitch in a little!"
• You were extremely curious of Kaeya's musical skills since his nature tends to lean towards the frivolous side. Unexpectedly, his tunes and playing style sounded melancholic as well. Most likely due to the fact of growing up in the Ragnvindr household.
• Since he hangs out at the bars during late nights quite often, Kaeya would know how to play a few tunes he picked up along the way. He would love to give you a full on performance! Anything for his sweetheart~ Though keep staring and you might find him teasing you about it after.
• Honestly Kaeya also makes an excellent teacher. His way of wording makes everything so easy to understand which is helpful to avoid silly mistakes. He teaches you very simple lyre pieces, brushing his fingers over yours every once in a while to help you adjust the right position.
• You think he's doing this on purpose to get you bothered but Kaeya simply feigns ignorance.
• But if you do know how to play a lyre, it would be a session where both of you share your songs. Out of all of them, there was one song that stuck out the most:
You felt a sense of longing in the tune Kaeya played. Far too slow to match the upbeat atmosphere of Mondstadt during the day and not as romantic as it would be during the night. Instead, it seemed to reflect the emotion of sadness, like hands reaching to a far away land which turned out to be nothing but a mirage.
"Where did you learn that piece? I never heard it before," you comment shortly after he finished.
Kaeya hums playfully while shooting a grin to match, "I composed it myself."
"Is that so?" You learned to not take everything at face value when talking to your lover, "Then where did you draw your inspiration from. It doesn't seem like you'd create it on a whim when your expertise lies in swordsmanship."
"Aha just when did you become so keen sweetheart?"
"Since I started dating you."
"Touche."
There would be a momentary pause and during times like these, it was easy to tell that the subject was related to his homeland. Kaeya always found it hard to bring up the topic, even before he met Crepus, music was one of the very last traces that tied his life to the scarce warms days of Khaenriah.
"What's the song called?"
Thankful that you changed the subject, Kaeya answers, "Frozen Dreams. At least, that is what I can remember."
"Frozen Dreams?" You pondered quietly, "I wonder what that title means."
"Do you like it that much?"
"Of course, that piece must be very important to you right? I would like to learn it," You pump your fists determinedly, I would like to learn about you as much as I can.
He looks at you, lips slightly parted at your genuine declaration. Although you may be tenacious when it came to his secrets, Kaeya did not doubt that it was also one of the quirks he loved about you most. With a small chuckle, he complies your request, “It would be my pleasure.”
Sometimes its best to leave the words unspoken. Perhaps another day when Kaeya feels ready to tell you everything, for now he will revel in the present where the intagible feelings of music and emotion do the speaking.

okay so i know Zero things about it, but: genshin impact blorbos?
THANK YOU because this is absolutely my hyperfixation right now (also I will simply use your not-knowing as an excuse to yell more/link pictures >>)
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
Jean Gunnhildr, Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, a kind-but-strong blonde knight with a strong sense of duty and honor, and also, between her powerset (healer/hitter) and background lore (the Knights of Favonius are the military branch of a religious org), technically a paladin! It's as if miHoYo designed this character explicitly for me. I love her. She works way too hard and badly needs so many naps.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
Razor, an abandoned child adopted by an ancient wolf-spirit and raised by wolves, with some later contributions by Jean's boss and her girlfriend the Favonius Librarian. Classic 'feral child does not speak good and has simple wisdom' but he actually has so much tragedy in his backstory and I love him a lot.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
Amber, an incredibly sweet and energetic young archer who has the misfortune to be the weakest of your free starter characters and also your first tutorial explainer, but who is a very good kid and was one of the starring characters of the manga, which is how I was lured into the game in the first place, so a lot of people go "annoying starter character" but when I first met her in game I was like "a friend! a friend has appeared! :D"
...cutting below this because there are spoilers and also I got rambly
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
...aside from, uh, also Amber? Several, really, especially as the plot moves away from the Knights of Favonius which are my always faves (you know me. give me a religious-oriented knightly order and I am stuck there), but probably Cloud Retainer, who has gotten more plot-relevant recently but is still an NPC. She is a powerful bird-spirit who thinks of herself as a machinist/inventor (actual results are... mixed... *stares at the cooking pot thing*) and also adopts children at the drop of a hat.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
Dottore, currently only mentioned in-game and only appearing in the manga, who runs terrible experiments on children, among many other evil deeds. He's one of the bad-guy group and absolutely the one I am most excited to see in-game, please give him to me miHoYo, I love him and I want to wreck his shit so bad.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
either Childe (another of the bad-guy group but also a friendly guy who happened to stab you in the back, loves fighting and in fact game-mechanics-wise you noncanonically fight him weekly which the fandom has a LOT of fun with) or Diluc (a rich dude who plays Batman on the regular, is your ally but also tortures enemies in front of you what the hell, honestly i think he's fascinating but also he attempted to murder his baby brother who's a second-level blorbo for me so I kind of want to dangle him over the plinko fire until he sorts out his many, many issues and admits that torture is wrong)
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
Ei, a.k.a. Baal, a.k.a. the Raiden Shogun (but that also appears to be how they refer to the magic robot she made to imitate her and store her consciousness while she meditates on the astral plane after having dissolved her body, and I very badly want to free the magic robot). Honestly her whole character + arc was done bad by the writers and most of my issues with her can be laid at their door, but from a Watsonian perspective, she decided to steal everyone in her nation's magic (which are supposedly solidified hopes and dreams) and sat in her mindpalace not giving a fuck while her decisions catapulted her nation into disastrous civil war.
I literally do not care how much trauma led up to that set of decisions, I cannot abide leaders who let their own bullshit fuck up their people and do not, like, at least look at the situation and acknowledge they did wrong? The narrative (again, victim of the writing, but she exists within this narrative) never even has her acknowledge she fucked up in any way. Jean Gunnhildr would not allow her own trauma to shatter the nation she cares for, and she's not even a god!

Bad Timing | Genshin Impact
During Windblume festival, Diluc ends up hosting in an event in a venue that’s suitably decorated. Unfortunately, he just happens to be allergic to the flowers.
(This might be the most self-indulgent allergy fic I’ve ever written, haha. DIluc snzfic + pollen allergies + company from someone... unexpected.)
It starts as a miscommunication.
It’s harmless enough. Donna, whom Diluc vaguely remembers seeing outside of the flower shop just adjacent to Angels Share, makes an arrangement with Charles to decorate the Dawn Winery. An act of gratitude, or something along those lines—just in time for Windblume Festival.
At least, that’s how Charles tells him about it, just as Diluc is about to leave from his shift the night before the party.
“Decorations?” he asks. “I see. I will have to give her my thanks. Did she speak to Adelinde about it?”
Charles ponders this, taking his place behind the counter. “I’m not sure,” he says. “She says she hopes it’s to your liking, though.”
It’s all Diluc can do to nod. Decorations for Windblume usually mean one thing, but there’s a reason why the tavern is scarcely decorated, and it’s not that he doesn’t have the means to decorate. The tavern’s current undecorated state—with the exception of pressed-dry flowers or flowerless vines strung around the second floor railings—is meant to accommodate… well.
He doubt Donna knows, because he’s never had a reason to bring it up in conversation. As far as truths go, it’s somewhat embarrassing. For now, he can only hope that her act of kindness isn’t as extensive as he thinks.
—
It’s an oversight, for sure, but it’s not until he steps foot into the main hall of the winery, two hours before the event’s inception that he realizes the extent of it.
The winery is crowded with flowers. There are snapdragons and cecilias strung up around the balconies, windwheel asters in neatly arranged bouquets on every available table, dandelions and wolfhooks cresting the fireplace. Vines of ivy and windwheel aster blossoms are woven around the staircase railings.
Instinctively, he raises a hand to cover his nose and mouth, as if to shield himself from it all. There’s a telltale itch already settling in his nose.
It’s a beautiful sight. But Diluc is very, very allergic.
He flings every window open—surely the air from outside must be an improvement—and bolts out of the building as soon as he can. Just from a few minutes of occupying the winery, he’s already congested, and his eyes are brimming with allergic tears.
The event—a celebration of the anniversary of the Dawn Winery’s founding, that happens to align closely with Windblume every year—is going to last for five hours. Moreover, there will be esteemed guests present, with which he’ll have to discuss business matters, which means that he has to be present.
Diluc shuts his eyes. Seasonal allergies are not anything that will cause him lasting harm, he’s sure… except, perhaps, to his professionalism. The winery has been in a financially good place these past few years, which means there’s barely any pressure on him to prove his own competence. His presence is more for show than for anything else. This should be fine. A five hour celebration, and then he’ll be out of here. He can ask the maids to deal with taking down the decorations later.
He arrives early, stands as far from the floral decorations as he can—it’s difficult; they’re everywhere—to make sure everything is in place. Despite his efforts, the winery is practically a flower garden, thanks to Donna’s well-intentioned arrangements. It’s not long before he’s sniffling again.
His eyes are starting to water, too. He wipes them gingerly on the cuff of his sleeve, sniffles, and nods his acknowledgement to the guests that are starting to file in.
“Sir Ragnvindr,” someone he recognizes as a business associate says to him, holding a flute of champagne. “How are you on this fine evening?”
How does he look? Diluc sniffles again. “I’m well,” he says, rather curtly.
“Mondstadt’s Windblume Festival is certainly a sight,” the associate is saying. “I’m glad I stopped by town at such an opportune moment.”
Diluc can’t think of anything he’d want to do less, right now, than entertain someone’s small talk. “It is one of Mondstadt’s most… hiIh!— most esteemed annual traditions… hiih-!” Damn it. Not now.
The itch in his nose is back. Luckily, the associate either doesn’t notice his predicament or doesn’t find it worth commenting on.
“Is that so? Tell me more about it.”
Diluc sniffles again. Anything to keep his nose from openly running. “I’m... sure… hiIIH-!” Barbatos, he needs to sneeze. He doesn’t want to be having this conversation right now. “...There are many people here more qualified to recount Mondstadt’s hiIhh-!… history… snf!… than I am.”
The associate raises an eyebrow, cocking his head. “Have you not lived here all your life? The previous owner of the Winery was Crepus Ragnvindr. I was under the impression that he was—”
“My father,” Diluc confirms, before he’s ducking away to stifle a sneeze, almost perfectly contained, into his wrist.
“hiIH’NGxt!” He gasps, sniffling, and presses his wrist closer to his face for the second. “hh…. hiiIH’NDGxt!”
It’s two sneezes, but they’re barely relieving. He raises his head, blinking. “Excuse me. Your assumptions are correct, though I…” he makes the mistake of rubbing his nose—something about the gesture just makes him need to sneeze. “hiIH… it’s been awhile since I’ve, snf, had the chance to properly celebrate, and longer still since… hIIh-!... since I’ve heard the history.”
“That’s strange,” the associate says. “You have lived in Mondstadt your whole life, yet you don’t know it’s history? Then again, I heard that you left for a few years, so maybe you feel no attachment to it.” It’s a thinly-veiled insult, but Diluc is too distracted to address it. He wants nothing more than to sneeze freely, but he’s sure that it would be loud, and it’d draw more attention than he wants right now. For now, he settles for raising a hand to—
“hiIH’DGXxt!” God, his eyes are watering, and the sneeze—though stifled—is forceful enough to jerk him forward, his shoulders shuddering.
The associate cringes. “It is a shame that you are spending the festival unwell.”
“I’m fine,” Diluc says, “Just… snf, just… hih!… HIih’GGKXt-shiu! ngh...” He needs to get out of here. Stifling offers virtually no relief at all, and he’s not going to stop sneezing anytime soon, from the looks of it.
He sighs, rubs his nose on the back of his hand, tells himself he can handle a few extra decorations. “Sorry. Did you, snf, have business matters to discuss?”
The associate’s expression hardens. “As you know, we have been ordering from the winery for a couple months now. I regret to inform you that there have been a few—”
Diluc blinks quickly. He can already feel his breath wavering—the start of another long, embarrassingly desperate buildup, probably.
“—troublesome incidents, specifically regarding the delivery of the wine. The delivery vehicles have been delayed on a handful of occasions—”
“hiIH! snf… hIIiih…”
His nose is tickling with such ferocity it’s almost torturous. He needs to get outside. His allergies are tolerable out in town in the open air, as long as he walks quickly enough and avoids all of the more festive installments. But here, in an enclosed space so thoroughly decorated, in a living room with mediocre circulation at best, surrounded by more flowers than he’s ever seen in his life…
“—just last week, the delivery cart was stopped by an assembly of hilichurl archers that destroyed nearly half the stock. Three weeks before that, the carriage caught the notice of one of Liyue’s Ruin Guards. I expect you are aware of these incidents?”
Diluc clears his throat. “I am. An excess of wine was sent back—hiiH! … in both cases, snf!- as soon as word of these setbacks… hIIH... reached the winery, snf.” The congestion is starting to settle in his voice, dulling his consonants. “You yourself… HIIh-! verified that the shipments m-made… hIIH-! it back to you… HIIIh!”
Sevens above. He doesn’t want to sneeze again, in front of someone who’s looking at him with a combination of disgust and condescension. But he knows, by now, that the most he can do is delay the inevitable.
“Ah,” the man waves a hand dismissively. “We did get the wine eventually. But it was still delayed, you see. Quite—”
—Diluc gasps sharply. “HIIIih-!”
“—an unprofessional experience, to say the least.”
His shoulders tense, as he jerks forward again, catching a barely restrained sneeze between the pinch of his fingers. “hihH'GXNt...! snf, hIIH… HIIH’NGDTtsh!” His body shudders with the release; he can feel the pressure of the sneeze settle behind his eyes, along with a dull ache—he’s going to give himself a headache if he keeps this up. “hiih-!... hiihHH…” This would be less humiliating if he could just sneeze and be done with it. Instead he finds himself caught in buildups that go nowhere, with a tickle in his nose that refuses to abate. “HIIIH… hIH’GZSchhh! snf… hhH-!”
Barely a breath in, his breath is already hitching again. He ducks into his sleeve, cringing, just in time for—
“hh… hiiH!... hh... HIIH’GXnT—shEw!!” The failed attempt at stifling is strangely relieving, all things considered, and he exhales shakily, wiping his nose on the back of his hand.
“Sir Ragnvindr,” The associate says pointedly. “I’m sure you can see where the problem lies. Delays are not exactly conducive to business.”
Diluc bites back an irritated retort. Delivery to Liyue from Mondstadt is bound to have its complications, given the concentration of enemies outside of the two cities; he’s sure this associate is aware of that, too. He has no control over whether the deliveries get interrupted, and he’s pretty sure it’s the associate’s fault for not putting the orders in in advance.
“What… snf… would you suggest, then?”
The associate smiles. “Given our longstanding role as customers, I believe monetary compensation would only be fair.”
Diluc sighs, scrubs at his eyes with one hand. “You can bring it up with Elzer. He is usually the one to handle these sorts of things,” Diluc says. “In the future, though, to save both of us the trouble, it would be best if you would... snf!... take care to place your orders in advance.”
The man stares back at him, his lip curling. “I beg your pardon?”
“The roads between here and Liyue are dangerous. I cannot always guarantee a safe delivery,” The tickle in his nose is back, relentless. If he’s going to sneeze again, the last thing he wants is to do it in front of this associate. Instead, he turns on his heels, sniffling. “Excuse me.”
He just about bolts from the room, past the floral decorations and up the staircase. The second floor is darker, lit only by the ceiling chandelier. He all but slumps against the wall. His nose is still itching, and he raises a gloved hand as his vision goes watery and indistinct—
“hiIIH’IISCH’iiuu! Hh… hDDt’TTZCSh’u!”
He doesn’t have time to wonder if anyone’s heard. Suddenly he’s gasping again, fumbling for a handkerchief, pulling up one sleeve so he can wipe his nose on the back of his wrist when he doesn’t find one. “Hiih… hiIIIH… snf-!”
The tickle falters just as suddenly, leaving him on the precipice of a sneeze, suspended in ticklish wait. He rubs his nose again, in hopes that the pressure on the bridge of his nose will be just irritating enough to coax out a sneeze, but...
It leaves him panting, his eyes still shut as he stands there, his breath still shaky with anticipation.
“hiIIH…! snf…” Nothing, still. “HIIIh...”
He rubs his nose again, hard, on the back of his wrist. Maybe if he could just sneeze—give his body relief in the fit it so clearly wants—it will solve his predicament for the next fifteen minutes, at least.
He just has to find somewhere quiet.
He rounds the corner on the second floor, stumbles through the door at the end of the hall out onto the balcony. The fresh air is immediately relieving, and he sucks in a long breath, leaning forward on the balcony railing. With the exception of some of the Dawn Winery staff, no one’s outside, and he doubts any of the guests will have reasons to spend enough time on the second floor to find the door that leads here. He figures it’s as good a place as he’ll find, for the time being.
The itch in his nose still burns, almost intense enough to make him shiver. Cecilias are wound around one of the balcony’s wooden rungs—he wonders, momentarily, if it’d be worth it to—
The door behind him swings open. He startles.
“Oh,” someone says from behind him. “...sir Diluc.”
It’s Rosaria, from the church. He doesn’t know much about her—he can probably count the number of words they’ve exchanged on one hand. She’s at the Angel’s Share every Thursday with Kaeya, downing drinks faster he thinks could possibly be healthy—though she must know her limits, given that she never seems to get as drunk as some of the knights do. Now, she eyes him warily.
There’s a windwheel aster clipped to the lapel of her shirt.
“Didn’t expect you to see you here,” she says, raising an eyebrow. “Aren’t you like, the most important person here?”
“Something like that,” he says.
“Then I suspect there’s a reason why you’re hiding out here.”
He doesn’t answer. How can he? “Ah, well, it’s fine,” she says, sounding unbothered. “Whatever reason you have, it doesn’t really matter to me. Hope you don’t mind if I smoke.”
He sniffles, turning away to wipe his nose on his wrist. “I… don’t.”
“Okay. I figured you’d be happier if I did it outside, anyways.” She steps into place next to him, digs through her pockets for a cigarette. “Think you could light it?”
He lowers his hand and turns to face her. Before he has a chance to light it, though, something about the proximity of the flower on her shirt is just enough to set him off — the next breath he takes leaves him gasping, his eyes watering immediately as he ducks violently into his elbow.
“hiIH… nGKTt!”
He’s not even close to done. “hiIH… hiiihH…. HH-!! snf-! hHiih’NDGXtT!”
“Bless you,” she says. “Are you sick?”
“Your… shirt…” is all he manages to gasp out, before he’s pressing his elbow tighter to his face, muffling another sneeze into the fabric of his sleeve—
“hiIH’IIIGXTtt… HIIiH-! Hiih… HIIH’IISsch’iu! Excuse me... HIih’GGKXt!!...”
“Oh,” she says, sounding like he’s just let him in on a secret. “You’re allergic.”
“Unfortunately,” he admits, feeling his face grow hot.
“You should’ve said.” She unclips the windwheel aster from her shirt, gives it half a look, and flicks it over the edge of the balcony.
“Wait,” Diluc says, his eyebrows furrowing. “I didn’t mean to… hiIIh-! snf... imply you should get rid of it.”
Rosaria smiles unreadably. “I wasn’t wearing it by choice. A friend coerced me to. Is it just windwheel asters that set you off?”
“It’s… hiiiiH… it’s just about everything… hiIH’ITTSChh! hiIH… NGKTT-shiiu!” It’s getting harder and harder to stifle, but it’s already embarrassing enough to sneeze in front of her in the first place.
“Everything, huh? Sounds awfully inconvenient.”
He lights her cigarette with his vision. “Thanks,” she says, and immediately pulls it in to take an appreciative drag. “Kind of suffocating to be inside with so many businessmen for so long, if you ask me.”
He sniffles harder, rubbing his nose on the cup of his sleeve.“I… snf…! I’m not going to be stopping anytime soon. You should probably… hiih... find somewhere else to smoke… hiiH... hiih’GKTT-!”
“You know,” Rosaria says, after a beat. “You’d be done sneezing sooner if you didn’t hold them back like that.”
If Diluc wasn’t blushing before, he’s sure he must be blushing now. It’s embarrassing to hear her address his sneezing in such a straightforward manner—he’s starting to see why she gets on so well with Kaeya.
“I’m fine, thanks… hiih… hiiH’NGXT’Sshh! HIIH’GKTT-! ugh...” Maybe she has a point—the stifling is starting to make his head hurt, and he hunches forward, still sniffling, to lean more heavily on the railing.
She shrugs. “Okay. I’m just saying, I wouldn’t mind. Why’d you decorate the winery like that, anyway? It seems awfully… masochistic.”
“A misunderstanding. Donna’s doing, though… hiiiH!... it would have been ungrateful if I had taken the decorations down... hiiih... hiIH’GkkT!!” — caught neatly in the palm of his hand. “hIih… hiIIH… nGSSCHh! snf…”
“Sevens, Diluc. Drop the formalities and let yourself sneeze. I’m getting a headache just listening to you.”
He frowns, lifts his hand from his face, only to clamp it back on when he realizes what a mess he’s made out of himself, his skin prickling with embarrassment. “If you’re certain...”
She scoffs, taking another drag of the cigarette. “Trust me. I couldn’t care less.” Usually, smoke doesn’t bother him—his pyro vision would be significantly more inconvenient if it did—but now, with his nose so sensitive, it’s exactly the last push he needs to send him over the edge.
“hIIH.. HIIH…” He blinks through teary eyes, his grip tightening against the railing. “HiiH… iHH'GZCHh-iiu! Hihh… hhD’TTschH’iu! snf.. hiIH... HIHH'iischHiew!”
The relief from letting himself sneeze is immediate and almost dizzying. He gasps again, taking a step back from the balcony. The next sneeze snaps him forward at the waist.
“hiIH’ISCHhiuu! hiIih… GKKTT-’SHiuu!” Rosaria disappears back into the manor, so quietly he almost doesn’t hear her leave, but he’s too out of it to properly react. “Hiih… hiIh… HIIH’ISCCHh’yuu!” He sniffles against his wrist, his shoulders just about slumping with the relief, before they’re tensing again just a few seconds later. “hiih… hiiih.. hiiIH’NGTTT-SHIu! Hiih… HiiH’IIIISCCHh’iuu!”
He groans, sniffling, resisting the urge to bury his head in his hands—it seems like an appealing enough option, if not for the fact that he’s been covering with one of them. The door behind him opens again.
“Thought you might need this,” Rosaria says, and hands him a handkerchief. He takes it gratefully. It’s only after he’s blown his nose into it—quietly—that he trusts himself to speak.
“Thank you,” he says. “I’ll find a time to give it back when it’s clean... snf.”
She blinks at him, her eyebrows furrowing as she looks him over. “Geez, you look awful. I’ll ask Kaeya to stop by later so he and I can take down the decorations for you.”
It’s surprisingly sweet. “You don’t have to,” Diluc says, wincing at the congestion in his voice. “I can get it... dealt with… hiih’IISSSH’iuu!”
“Your maids can, you mean. Still, it will be faster if we help out... your bedroom’s on the second floor, isn’t it?”
When he nods, she shrugs, leaning back casually against the doorframe. “Even more reason to get it cleaned up faster, then. Would it kill you to accept some help for once in your life?”
Diluc sniffles, folding the handkerchief neatly. “I suppose not. I... appreciate it, then.”
She smiles at him. “It’s the least I can do. I’ve been leeching off your free alcohol this whole afternoon, so we can call it even.”
