Here is my list of my Favourite Episodes in DS9 (in whichever order I remember them):
House of Quark: it has everything I need. No humans. Cultural differences. Excellent comedy timing. Klingons. Quark. 10/10 would use it to cheer me up on a bad day. I think of it often. Indescribable.
Tribunal: It corresponds with the mandatory episode of O'Brien Must Suffer but we have a good insight in Cardassian culture and the lawyer gives me life. About to retire, caring the bare minimum to see if he can retire, exasperated at the lack of communication with his client... And Cardassians about to kill somebody because these aliens keep interrupting them. The comic reliefs are gold in this episode.
Captive Pursuit: I love the character design for the Tosk, and it is a story of a first contact done quite well. There is the slight cultural shock. The alien is very alien-like, with gestures that are not the same as everyone else's. And the arc itself is very interesting. I wish they had more time to tell us about them or that they would have appeared in another episode.
The assignment: Finally an episode with Keiko but it's not Keiko. We see what we miss because they didn't know what to do with this magnificent actress but the tension is constant from minute one. It's horrifying, you can't stop watching, you can't find a solution, you feel as trapped as Miles and they just keep adding to it.
In the cards: The same we had a O'Brien Must Suffer, we should have been given a Nog and Jake Have An Idea per season. I like how this one kind of mirrors the one where it's Nog who wants to make profit selling self-sealing stem bolts and Jake helps him and he happens to know better than Nog how to do it. This time, it's Nog putting to use his Ferengi skills, we get to learn about an extra piece of lore in Ferengi culture and it's overall a very fun episode after some dramatic episodes. And when it couldn't be sillier, they have to fucking negotiate with Weyoun.
Valiant: Another episode where you can't stop looking, you feel like Jake trying to shake them and see if they wake up, but at the same time, what the fuck is wrong with Starfleet as a whole? In a series that is constantly questioning Federation policies, where they introduced the Jem'Hadar and all they entail, they bring us human child soldiers. Excellent acting, excellent story. Very poignant.
Chimera: This would have been a wonderful episode for season 3. They could have made a very interesting arc from the idea of "what about the other hundred? Won't you look for them?". I like how it mirrors Jadzia and her ex-wife meeting again and how they use the link metaphor to give us a gay love story mine de rien. Again, if this episode happened sooner, Odo could have explored many of the points Laas makes (which are very good points, even if he is a bit of an asshole) but it is still fascinating that they managed to make this episode with all those points and left it there. Also, kudoz for mentioning Martok while the actor playing Martok is there being someone else.
And not episodes but two of the best moments of the series are:
When Kira is about to leave and one by one they come to say bye and it ends up being like a Marx Brother's sketch.
When Keiko is pregnant again and they come to Quark's to give the news. The dialogue between Bashir, Miles, Quark and when it couldn't be better, Worf.
Special medal goes to: the comic relief in Far Beyond The Stars being us recognising actors out of make up. Shout out to the unexpected suave of Worf.
They had a golden team in this series to do what they wanted and they did.

❗❗HELP A HOMELESS ARTIST FEED AND HOUSE HIS FAMILY ❗❗
emergency commissions open!!
Reblogs are greatly appreciated!
Remaking this post since times have gotten tougher than normal and we need the extra help. Hi, my name is Link and my family and I (younger sibling and father) have been homeless since November 2021. It's a long story but a very shortened version is that my father used to do freight hauling work across the country and would sometimes take me and my sibling along (I lived at a friend's home and my sibling lived with a family member). In the middle of a job, my father fell into a diabetic coma and ended up losing his job in the process. Due to no family support and my sibling having to leave the place they were staying, they were both homeless. At the same time, I was having to leave soon myself since my friend's grandmother fell very ill and things looked bad; they had a lot of things to take care of and I was told I had to find somewhere else.
So, my friend I was living with drove us to the lowest cost motel they could find after I opened my commissions for the first time and we were on our own(none of us could work since my dad lost his liscenese during all the chaos, we also dont have our documents or ids and trying to get something now is impossible without a car and we never have room to just save money since we need to both have somewhere to stay and something to eat). We've been doing so ever since.
We already struggle alot with paying for the room daily (most of the time we're having to stay up all night/morning just to have the room paid that day) and nowadays we can barely afford food to last us a week, let alone a couple days. My father also recently dealt with bad tremor episodes due to his blood sugar going high, causing the left side of his body to turn numb and he couldn't control it. We were able to get most of his medications except for insulin (which turned out to be over 400$) and he's recently run out, so if something happens then there's not alot we can do. We've been trying to save up for it but it's been difficult to have a place to live or eat this week, let alone make even a bit of the cost for the insulin. It's alot of things to try and take care of for someone who has little to no resources/family or friend support 🥲
So, I'm opening my commissions to hopefully get us something to pay for at least today with since we dont even have enough to be good for right now and we also need some food for tonight since that's our immediate need. If you're interested in getting a commission, you can look at my prices below and email me ([email protected]) or pm me here. Or if you have questions about my services, you can also ask me those! I'll be happy to answer them for you :)
If you can't support financially (please don't feel bad if you can't btw, I understand completely) reblogging would help us out immensely since itd open up new opportunities for us to feed ourselves or house ourselves another day. Thank you for your help if you do, it really means the most to us and makes a big happy difference in our lives, thank you for brightening it :)) 💚

something that has been on my mind recently. So Eugene is taken from the dark kingdom as a baby but he grows up in Corona. So how the heck did he get all the way from the dark kingdom and why did the maid/wet nurse decide on corona. Like I wish we had more insight into baby Eugene.
wellll ok. so. timeline,
A horse-drawn wagon can travel approximately 10-30 miles per day, depending on terrain. We’ll split the difference and assume that team corona averages 20 miles per day. They’re also following the roads, so all distances estimated here are by-road, and distances as the crow flies will be shorter.
They leave Corona at the end of S1. For discussion purposes we’ll keep track of both total days and traveling days, so: this is Day 0, and Traveling Day 0.
Beyond the Corona Walls establishes that Vardaros is one week from corona by wagon. So, they arrive in Vardaros on Day 7 and Traveling Day 7, they have traveled about 140 miles.
The events of BTCW last two days (7-8). Return of Quaid takes place over the course of the next four (9-12), and Goodbye and Goodwill the two following that (13-14). When they leave Vardaros, they’re headed east with the sun behind them, indicating that it’s the evening after the gopher grab—so, evening of Day 14, Traveling Day 8.
There’s no hard time references in Forest of No Return to give us an idea of how long it’s been since they left Vardaros, but it doesn’t seem to have been especially long, and thanks to KOTS/RTTS we know that 1. the Forest of No Return is somewhere in between Corona and the Spire, and 2. the Spire is about half a day’s journey from Corona by powered balloon, which I would guess has an average ground speed of maybe 30mph. So, assuming a six-hour flight in RTTS, we can estimate that the Spire is around 180 miles from Corona as the crow flies. The terrain in that region is pretty gnarly, so we’ll double that and round up and say the distance by road from Corona to the Spire is about 400 miles. That puts Vardaros about one third of the way to the Spire, making the distance from Vardaros to the Spire about 260 miles and the Forest of No Return somewhere in the middle of that.
Let’s assume the Forest is at the southeastern tip of Kresten Loch, as is vaguely implied by the map in RTTS. That would put it closer to the Spire than to Vardaros, so we’ll say the Forest is roughly two-thirds of the way there and put it at 160 miles from Vardaros by road. That would make the beginning of FONR Day 22 and Travel Day 15.
FONR begins on D22/TD15. They lose the caravan that same day and camp in the woods for the night, make it out of the forest in the evening of D23/TD16. They lose quite a bit of time in the forest on account of the shifting geography and basically cross the thing twice on foot, so we’ll call it 10 miles total. End of D23/TD16, they’ve traveled about 310 miles from Corona.
We’ll skip over Freebird and Vigor the Visionary; both of them occur between the Forest and the Spire, which we’ve estimated to be a distance of about 90 miles by road, and both episodes make a point of noting that Team Corona is not traveling at an especially rigorous pace; so let’s assume that they’re averaging about 10 miles per day during this leg of the trip, and say they get to the base of the Spire nine days after escaping the Forest.
That puts the beginning of Keeper of the Spire at D32/TD25, about one month and four hundred miles after their departure from Corona. Keeper of the Spire lasts from the afternoon of D32 to the night of D33.
The map in Rapunzel’s Return is definitely not to scale, but it implies that the distance from the Spire to the Coast is about half the distance from the Spire to the Forest. Assuming that map was sketched by someone in the caravan, I think we can take the relative distances of things as more of an indication of travel time than actual distance, and therefore conclude that they reached the coast in about half the time it took them to get from the Forest to the Spire. If they resumed their normal pace of 20 miles per day after leaving the Spire, that would make the approximate distance to the coast about 90 miles. Let’s round that up to 100 for a nice even five days of travel.
So, they reach the coast on D38, TD 30. They’re approximately 500 miles away from Corona by road, less as the crow flies. They spend an unknown amount of time converting the caravan into a boat—let’s say a week, so they set sail D45/TD31. Let’s be very generous and assume the caravan-boat can sail at a speed of about 3 knots, just a little under 4 miles per hour, for an average of about 80 miles per day.
When King Pascal begins, they’re far enough out to sea for the entire horizon to be water but have not been sailing long enough for their terrible caravan-boat to get its ass kicked yet. I figure they set sail in the morning of D45/TD31 and KP begins at noon (the shadow of the flying seagull at the beginning is directly below) of the same day. Thus, they’re about 24 miles from the coast when the storm hits.
They wash up on the shore of Terapi Island, which is close enough to the mainland for that coast to be visible from the beach—about 4-5 miles assuming the curvature of the planet is similar to that of the earth. It’s noted that they’ll be stranded on Terapi until the next new moon, and Happiness Is takes place during the full moon. It’s strongly implied that they missed the ferry that arrived after Happiness is and had to wait for the next one—Lance states that they’ve been on the island for six weeks at the beginning of Peril on the High Seas.
So, PotHS begins at dusk. The sun is setting to the west, in in what appears to be the direction of the bit of visible coastline that can be seen from Terapi. This suggests that the storm in King Pascal blew them backwards, and Terapi is within four or five miles off the east coast of Corona’s continent. This is congruous with the relative distances shown in the Rapunzel’s Return map.
That puts them about 505 miles away from Corona when they leave the island on D87, TD32. PotHS takes place that night, and they appear to continue sailing through that night and all of the following day (at least): when they arrive on the eastern coast, the sun is on the horizon to the west again. We’ll assume that we only skipped one day, which puts the end of PotHS in the evening of D88, TD33. A regular sailing ship will travel at about 4-5 knots which’d make this twenty-four hour journey approximately 200 miles in length. They are 705 miles from Corona now.
The next episode is Curses!, which revolves around Lombard’s Pass. In the Rapunzel’s Return map, Lombard’s Pass is drawn immediately on the coast, but the terrain shown in the episode is emphatically not coastal. Applying the same standard we used to guess the approximate distance from the Spire to the coast based on this map, let’s assume that Lombard’s Pass was a journey of three days from the coast and that they rushed a bit to try to make up for lost time, averaging the maximum possible 30 miles per day. That makes Curses begin on D90/TD35, 795 miles from Corona.
Curses is another two-day episode, ending late in the afternoon on D91/D36.
Eye of Pincosta picks up apparently quite some ways from Lombard’s Pass: they’ve passed through at least one town (Zulberg) and traveled far enough from there to be running low on supplies again, so there was probably a bit of a time skip here. This section of the story seems to take place in a relatively populous region, with a lot of towns and roadside inns; I think we can assume that they’re not stopping to resupply in every single town they come through, so their need to stop in Pincosta isn’t necessarily suggestive of there being a huge distance between it and Zulberg. We’ll call it a month, at their usual pace of 20 miles per day. That’s about 600 miles, and puts EOP’s beginning at D120/TD65, 1,395 miles from Corona.
EOP lasts for three days; they leave Pincosta on D123, TD66.
Rapunzel and the Great Tree gives us an approximate temporal reference of “after being cramped in that caravan for the last few months.” I think—given the relatively dense population in the Pincosta region and the likelihood of the Great Tree itself being very remote—we can take this to mean the last few months since the end of Peril on the High Seas, NOT since they left Corona. If we interpret “a few” to mean three, which seems reasonable, then it has been about two months since they left Pincosta. We’ll round up to get a nice number and say RATGT begins on D185, TD128; and again, using their usual 20 miles per day pace, that’s 1,240 miles from Pincosta and 2,635 from Corona.
They camp in the Great Tree on D186. RATGT ends at dawn on D187, TD130, and from there they travel on foot for the next few episodes. At this point they have minimal supplies and will need to scavenge for food, are in unfamiliar wilderness, and one of them is seriously injured, so they’re not going to be making especially good time. Let’s use 8 miles per day as our average.
It’s unclear how much time elapses between RATGT and Brothers Hook, but 1. it’s long enough for all of them to be sick of each other, and 2. for squabbling over their scant supplies to have become commonplace, but 3. not long enough for the unspoken tension between Cass and Rapunzel to boil to the surface. Let’s say the episode picks up a week after RATGT, so they’ve walked 56 miles, and it’s D194/TD137.
West Ipsil is stated to be three days from their current location on foot at their usual pace. At Rapunzel’s behest, they walk at “twice their usual pace”, without stopping to eat, drink, or sleep, and manage to arrive in West Ipsil by the evening of the following day. Using 8 miles per day as our estimated average, that would mean they walked for 24 miles with minimal breaks—which would be completely exhausting, but IS physically plausible. (For the sake of comparison, a marathon is 26.2 miles.)
So, they make it to West Ipsil in the evening of D195/TD138, where they meet up with Hook Hand. The following morning they depart West Ipsil in Hook Hand’s wagon, heading for Trevor Jr.’s wedding. [SIDEBAR: while it’s true that TTS geography is…malleable, the people who complain about the nebulous geography by pointing to Brothers Hook are WRONG Trevor Jr.’s wedding is EXPLICITLY STATED to be a destination wedding. Brothers Hook DOES NOT TAKE PLACE IN EQUIS]. It’s a big wagon, so it’s probably slower than the Team Corona wagon; plus it’s unlikely that Hook would’ve played a concert too far away from the wedding venue, so let’s estimate that they travel 10 miles with him. The wedding occurs on D196/TD139, and they presumably continue their journey on foot the next day, D197/TD140. They’ve traveled 90 miles since leaving the Great Tree, and a total of 2,725 miles from Corona.
Again, Rapunzel: Day One lacks any temporal references that would tell us how long they’ve been traveling since TBH. It’s long enough that Cassandra has begun to retrain her injured hand, and for Rapunzel to have become frustrated with Cass’s attitude. They’ve also, I think, gotten down to the foothills of the mountains where the Tree was and found the caravan washed up on the river bank. 2-3 weeks since TBH seems reasonable to me—let’s be generous and say two. That puts the beginning of RDO at D211/TD154, 2,837 miles from Corona.
RDO lasts for about three days, during which they repair the caravan. Thus the episode ends on D214, TD154.
At this point they resume the caravan pace of 20 miles per day. It’s not clear how many days pass between the end of RDO and Mirror Mirror, but I don’t think it would be much more than a few days: at the end of RDO they’d just gotten out of the mountains, and the HOYT seems to still be in the foothills. Let’s say three days, 60 miles. So, the HOYT arc begins D217/TD157, 2,897 miles from Corona.
Mirror Mirror lasts for one night. You’re Kidding Me begins the following morning (D218) and is over by that afternoon. Rapunzeltopia occurs at night, possibly the night of D218, and is over by dawn (D219/TD158).
Lost and Found opens with Team Corona a single day’s travel from the border of the Dark Kingdom; they’ve also been on the road long enough for Eugene to fall for the birthday prank for a second. I generally put this one about 8 months after departure from Corona, and if we go with that that puts LAF about 20 days after they escape the HOYT, so D239/TD178 and another 400 miles, for a total of 3,297 miles from Corona.
Destinies Collide begins the following day (D240/TD179), at border of the Dark Kingdom itself. They’re traveling fast when the episode begins, so let’s say they’ve been going for about 10 miles—putting the exact border of the DK approximately 3,307 miles from Corona.
From that point, the dark fortress is clearly visible at the horizon. Depending on the relative altitude of the bordering cliffs vs the fortress, it’s probably somewhere between 5 and 10 miles from the border.
The caravan rolls off a cliff at the border and they proceed on foot, arriving at the fortress around nightfall, so I figure it’s closer to 5 than 10. Let’s say 6ish. That makes the capital of the Dark Kingdom approximately 3,312 miles, by road, from the capital of Corona. It took Team Corona a total of eight months to get there, or about six if we exclude delays from being stranded or otherwise not traveling. Most of that was in a heavy horse-drawn wagon, though they spent about a month altogether traveling on foot and there is an approximately two hundred mile wide sea between the Coronan and Dark Kingdom continents (so the overland part of the journey is only 3,112-ish miles).
To put that into perspective, the continental United States are about 2,800 miles across from easternmost to westernmost point as the crow flies, but a journey of about 3,550 miles by road. And, as a point of comparison, the Oregon Trail was about 2,200 miles and generally took about 6-7 months, so even with their significant delays Team Corona made pretty decent time, overall averaging—according to my estimates—about 14 miles traveled per day.
Their return journey, by unpowered balloon, is much faster. How fast is a little unclear. However, the record speed for a hot air balloon is 245 miles per hour, and while the Coronan balloon wouldn’t have gotten anywhere close to that—they’re far too heavy—if they had favorable winds they could’ve gone at a pretty fair clip. They also have the advantage of traveling as the crow flies, which I’d estimate could knock as many as 1000 miles off the journey given that they traveled through not one but two mountain ranges en route to the DK. So, let’s say their return flight is about 2,312 miles.
Rapunzel’s Return appears to end at or near Rapunzel’s birthday, if the lanterns are any indication, which would put the return journey around three months and their daily average about 25 miles traveled per day, which seems very reasonable for a heavy westward-traveling balloon.
Edmund arrives in Corona, having traveled alone on horseback from the Dark Kingdom, in the next episode. There’s not a hard temporal reference here, but Corona has been fully repaired from the damage done during the Separatist regime and Rapunzel has settled into her role as acting Queen, so some amount of time has certainly past.
At a DRIVING PACE, a well-conditioned horse can travel at a rate of 50 miles per day, but this is very grueling and not sustainable over very long periods of time. It’s likely that Edmund would have been traveling somewhere closer to 30 or so miles per day. Assuming he caught a boat across the sea, he had 3,112 miles to cover on horseback. It’s likely that he left for Corona within a few days of Team Corona’s departure, so he would have been traveling while they did. Traveling at 30 miles per day on horseback, Edmund’s journey from the Dark Kingdom to Corona would have lasted approximately three and a half months, putting his arrival at the beginning of Return of the King somewhere between two and three weeks after the end of Rapunzel’s Return.
That seems like a reasonable amount of time for all the trash and grime that built up during the Separatist regime to get cleaned up and for Rapunzel to hit her stride as acting queen, and the math all works out pretty logically without requiring any ludicrous fast traveling. Loosely, these numbers also square with the Captain being able to make it all the way to the Demanitus Labyrinth and then back to Terapi Island on (presumably) horseback based on the very rough timeline we have of Events in Corona:
If we assume that Ulf’s journey to the Dark Kingdom, by balloon, also took about three months, then that puts the Saporian coup loosely between EOP and RATGT. The Captain would have left around the same time to search for Rapunzel, slowly retracing the caravan’s path. We know that Cassandra continues to hang around the Labyrinth region for quite some time while she struggles to regain control of the moonstone’s power, and that the events of Be Very Afraid evidently convince her (or Zhan Tiri) that she needs extra help in the form of the incantations in the Great Tree. It’s not clear exactly when the Captain’s flashback in Islands Apart occurs in relation to BVA and Cassandra’s arrival at the Great Tree in IA, but my thinking is that the flashback actually happens AFTER Beginnings but BEFORE Be Very Afraid—in Beginnings, Cassandra is still east of the Labyrinth, kicking around the ruined caravan. Assuming she’s been gradually drifting westward since getting the moonstone, she would have been within a day’s walk of the labyrinth at that point, and the IA flashback confrontation would give fuel to her wavering conviction and anxiety at the beginning of BVA.
So, all of that gives the Captain somewhere around 6-7 months to make it to the Labyrinth, where he comes face to face with Cassandra and is briefly trapped—super plausible for a man on horseback searching for someone whose location he doesn’t know. From there, he would have to travel about 2,592 miles to get back to the coast, whereupon he could hop a ferry and be on Terapi in a day. Riding fast—at a rate of 40 miles per day—he could cover that distance in a little over two months. He spends an unknown number of days digging for the wishing well’s coin, then makes his wish eight days before Rapunzel and Eugene arrive on the island. (By powered balloon, using previous estimate of 30 mph, they could have traveled the 250-or-so miles as the crow flies to Terapi from Corona in about eight hours. This tracks with their midday departure and arrival late in the night.)
All of this would put Island Apart ROUGHLY eight or nine months after the Saporian takeover, five or six months after Destinies Collide, and two or three months after the end of Rapunzel’s Return; and Cassandra’s Return would have to be—if we assume that after Islands Apart Cass booked it to Corona by walking at the very brisk pace of 20 miles per day and again hopped a boat across the sea—another four or so months later. Making the entire first half of S3, from the time of Rapunzel’s arrival in Corona to the midseason, about six or seven months.
…ANYWAY I’M DRIFTING AWAY FROM THE ACTUAL POINT OF ALL THIS WHICH IS TO SAY:
it’s not actually that far from the DK to corona. a significant distance for sure, but one that can be traveled on horseback in 3-4 months with relative ease if you’ve got the money for supplies. weather does not seem to be a problem and given chameleons live in corona we’re probably looking at a fairly low latitude, without much seasonal variation, and the dark kingdom seems to be only a little further north. so bad winters are clearly not a significant issue when making this journey.
it makes sense to me to assume that the residents of the dark kingdom would have wanted to get the fuck away from the black rocks, hence going as far as they possibly could from the dark kingdom, hence a lot of them likely ultimately ended up on the west coast—either in the lombard region, or for the ones who really wanted to get away, sailing across that sea to settle on the west coast in the corona/equis region.
i’ll bet that eugene’s wet nurse was acting on orders from edmund to get his infant son AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE, because ultimately what edmund wanted was to save his son from being trapped as the moonstone’s guardian. assuming there’s not another continent somewhere far to the west of corona (or at least, none discovered), corona is quite literally as far as it’s possible to get from the dark kingdom, and thus the last possible stop for anyone fleeing the dark kingdom.
personally, though? i figure she didn’t quite make it. eugene didn’t grow up in corona—he grew up in vardaros, just 140 or so miles from corona. (the series is a bit murky on this but recall that eugene in the film is clearly familiar with but not from corona, and that eugene in the series was a teenager when he was engaged to stalyan in vardaros, hence likely grew up there.) and… well, while the journey from the dark kingdom is certainly doable for anyone with a horse and enough money for supplies, and the wet nurse of a prince would certainly have had both of those things, there’s still a lot of things that can go wrong when you’re fleeing across a whole continent and i think the most logical explanation for how eugene ended up in an orphanage in vardaros with a different name from the one his parents gave him is that the woman who was tasked with taking care of him died. (or, given that it happened in or near vardaros, got murdered lmao). and then he just became a foundling child and taken to an orphanage.
( not in bitter snow, though. basically with bitter snow eugene the plan was for him to be raised by the three most trusted knights of the brotherhood—quirin, adira, hector—and that uh. WENT AWRY. because they had a very nasty falling out and parted ways, and the baby prince ended up in care of adira "i cannot take care of this toddler i need to find the sundrop" sólyom, who promptly changed his name and dumped her two year old prince in an orphanage like Good Luck Kiddo ghskdfhg )
( has adira made the eugene fitzherbert = prince liron connection yet no because she's the WORST at names, doesn't know eugene's name, and has forgotten what fake name she gave the baby. )

Fixed some outdated panels that no longer lined up with the rewritten pages
Re-did the drafted episodes to be one strip per episode. they’ll be a lot shorter this way, but it also means i’ll have more time to work on updates while they’re being put out!
Worked on some rough sketches for new pages but didn’t do anything significant
otherwise, took it easy today! i need to look for more page inspiration since the only ideas i have for this one section are pretty boring 🥲

My friend just needed someone to talk to and I’m always happy to help in any way I can but I did a bad job trying to comfort her, even if she only needed someone to listen. I’m also a little scatterbrained today or just vacant so I wish I could have been more help. I literally couldn’t think of anything good to say. I guess I’m most worried about coming off as indifferent or uncaring because I care a LOT. She probably knows that though.
2:53 PM
I feel things and think things but I don’t want to write about things or think about them. Mostly because I feel mentally tired right now. Im not in the best shape to be making progress but I have learned that progress must still be made regardless. I can’t always wait for the right moment. I guess there also isn’t anything pressing me right now so I can take a smol break.
In general I know I’m having a hard time feeling like myself right now and instead am following what I’d describe as a sort of natural code. Im doing things without thinking about them. There is little exploration and creativity going on in my head right now, I’m just existing. My capacity for true deep empathy is lowered because of this. I’m not really here in a sense, or not at the capacity I want to be. I know this must be normal though, I can’t be on top of this kind of thing all the time. I’m sure this kind of thing happens to everyone. I’m just trying to get to know it better so I can accurately appraise myself whenever I get like this.
I also had a very small incident with an onion. Its the kind of thing that harks back to the peak of my anxiety surrounding food and my stomach. I chopped an onion in half so I could use one half in my lunch and the other half went in the fridge. I still have some iffyness about eating anything “raw” even if it’s safe to do so. I hinged a lot of my sense of food security on making sure everything I ate was fully cooked no matter what it was (except for some obvious exceptions like chips, crackers, canned stuff, etc.). So I still found it to be a little exercise to take a slice of that onion and use it on my chicken burger uncooked. It’s an important little exercise though and I’m proud I did it, even if it wasn’t a very big deal.
10:56 PM
I want to get on bed this time so this has to be brief hopefully.
For breakfast I had left over rice a roni from yesterday. I watched one of the newer episodes of Craig of the Creek before streaming.
Stream went okay, I only did half commission work again since I’m doing it for the paying double guy. I had to stop the stream halfway through to call and listen to my friend but I started it back up for a little bit afterwards. I completed a little colored sketch in a way that I liked so hopefully I can keep doing that to get more of my ideas out.
I cleaned up some and did my mini workout for the first time. Im really starting to feel it in my legs again so it must be working. During my shower I watched a new video from Lemino about the JFK assassination, it was interesting. Im surprised and also not surprised at how stupid people can be when giving testimony.
Lunch was a chicken burger and a granola bar, very good.
During today’s drawing request I edited one of my coloring brushes to be easier to blend with and I really liked the result. It offered more flexibility per stroke. After that I worked on this cute drawing of mine and my friend’s sonas again, it’s REALLY coming out well. When work was done I spent some time working on my horse avatar again, it’s also looking good and I’m so excited to be horsies with my bestie.
I hung out with her while I worked on it and we chilled for a bit while she showed some things. I didn’t know what to do with myself, I just wanted to chill so I wasn’t very lively. My eyes also hurt all evening. After she moved upstairs we played Zelda for a bit, it was nice.
I wish I could have been less out of it, I’ve definitely been in a funk today and yesterday. I could probably figure out some straightforward exercises to turn to that could help me realize that I’m a living, thinking person when I’m struggling to perceive myself.

Goddess of the Void, Hollow Marshmallow Willow (Sketches)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi again, I know I said I was going on hiatus, but I wanted to share some sketches of a character I made named Hollow Marshmallow Willow, Goddess of the Void. I made the first sketch at midnight Friday, and then drew her some more while watching/listening to a drawing stream, and early this morning I made this close up.
Additionally my plans for SvS, and my follow up comic using that ttrpg system I’ve been creating with the comic I’m calling Monsters of Hope or MoH for short; executing on this I’m using the strategy of trying to build up a queue of uploads over the next few weeks so that there’s a backlog to post on a weekly basis again. I’m sorta thinking of it like health points or Energy but with the number of uploads I have prepared and queued up; so like, if I have 5 prepared is like having 5 Energy or 5 HP, which means I’d have 5 weeks worth of uploads for that project. In my head I’m thinking having at least 5 at any moment is the minimum I should have because either going through a dungeon or fighting a boos you’ll need those resources to give yourself leniency and flexibility and like a safety net to allow yourself to fail sometimes.
Probably ideally having something like 10 uploads queued per project, though means it’ll be a while to share what I’ve made when once uploaded was made something like 10 weeks ago, but I think that’s the approach I’d want to go with so that to increase my consistency. Which I’m thinking with SvS once I have 5 queued up then I’ll start uploading again weekly aiming for July 8th, meanwhile for MoH I’d wait until I have 10 queued up, and with that project I want to improve my writing and drawing capabilities; where SvS is more about the rules and mechanics to how the game works and functions, MoH will, ideally, fuse mechanics with narrative and illustration to create sequential “game” art. Once I have finished 10 episodes then I’ll announce with a calendar update for when I’ll start uploading that project on a weekly basis, and I’m thinking on Wednesdays for that one. Where SvS is on Saturdays as usual.

Nevertheless - 5/10
I feel like I deserve an award for making it through this show. Like it was only 10 episodes but it felt like 20 and honestly should have been a 2 hour movie instead of a 10 hour drama series.
Because... nothing happens? It's basically 10 meandering hours about the love lives of a bunch of art majors, lmao. And in spite of spending 10 episodes with these characters, most of them remain vague sketches of characters with unclear motivations for their actions rather than fully formed people? Like goddamn, I still could not tell you why the male lead is the way that he is.
Tumblr media
HOWEVER, I quickly got emotionally invested in the wlw romance subplot and subsequently forced myself to finish the show even though that couple got like maybe 5 mins of screen time per episode. lmao. The sound track was also good, so there's that.
Quick run down of the plot: Na-bi is a sculpture student and her boyfriend is awful to her and so she eventually dumps him. The night she breaks up with her boyfriend she meets a cute and charismatic guy named Jae-eon who turns out to be a fellow art student at her university. He doesn't do real relationship so they have a secret FWB relationship for a while, but it's not what Na-bi want, so she ends it. And then they spend like 6 episodes dancing around each other while a perfectly nice guy from Na-bi's hometown named Do-hyeok pines after Na-bi and makes her laugh and feel comfortable and happy but she decides that she'd rather pursue a relationship with Jae-eon for... some reason? End of show.
The writing overall was just SLOPPY. It seems kind of like they were trying to do some kind of metaphor with butterflies and setting them free, but uh, it's very unclear what the actual metaphor was. And characters kind of flit in and out of the show without any real purpose. WHY was Jae-eon's ex-girlfriend around? What was her relationship with him? What was going on with her brother? Where was she going when she left Korea? Like... ANYTHING about her and her relationship with Jae-eon would have been appreciated. Instead she's just kinda there to stir the pot for the main couple and push them apart or together. And then there's like an oblique reference to Jae-eon's mom being a dancer and we get one (1) scene with her later and it seems like MAYBE the reason he's closed off to relationships is because his mom was always off traveling and performing? But that is never explored. Like, at all.
It's nice that the show was attempting to be a more 'mature' take on modern relationships which is maybe missing from the k-drama world. But it was just poorly written with paper thin characters.

AEW Poster info dump
Okay, so, if you're reading this you've probably seen my AEW poster that I'm working on. This post is to sort of explain everything about who's in it and stuff like that.
Tumblr media
The poster as of 3\10\21, roughly 45% complete
What is this?
It's a poster with 563 people (well, 560 people, 2 drones, and 1 dog) that have appeared on AEW in the first two years or so of it's existence.
Who is on here?
I have a Google doc of 563 people that can be found here: Spreadsheet
How did you get 563 people?
I took everyone that wrestled on an AEW pay-per-view, Dynamite, Dark, or Dark Elevation, as well as commentators, referees, notable guest appearances, and so on.
How long has this taken you?
I didn't write down which day I actually started (since I didn't realize how big the project was going to end up) but my best guess is that I started it in August of 2020 (at least, that's the earliest digital file I have saved. I know there were initially older files though.) Also, there have been breaks while I work on other things.
That must be a really big canvas you're working on.
It is, but since I'm working digitally, I've broken it down into multiple smaller files so my computer doesn't explode when I need to open it. I would make a new canvas, draw several wrestlers on it, then copy the finished inks to the full sized one. That way I can move people around, resize them if need be, and make changes relatively easily. The final piece will be 24 inches by 36 inches.
How do you keep track of all of this?
Well, I've got a spreadsheet that I linked to above. It tells me which wrestlers I need to draw, and breaks that down into inks, flat colors, and shading. It also tells me if I've placed them on the final canvas, which file the original lineart is in, and even when they first appeared for AEW.
Do you draw this or trace it?
Okay, this is difficult to explain: I use a ton of reference. In order to get the likeness right, I'll do a quick sketch over the reference to place where the eyes and nose go. Then I'll move the reference pic to the side and draw the rest. I'll draw guidelines to show where various parts of the body should be. If I'm done and it still looks wonky, I'll put the lineart over the reference and adjust lines where needed. Usually it's the eyes are crooked. Anyway, here's an example of my process:
Tumblr media
Where's [wrestler] or [wrestler?]
When this is all done, I'll have a key to show who's who and where they are.
Why isn't [wrestler] in here?
When I started this project, I was going to draw the roster, plus the indie wrestlers they started bringing in for Dark when Covid hit. So every few weeks I'd add more people to the list. And more. And more. Until finally I decided that the limits of this drawing would be drawing anyone between AEW Double of Nothing 2019 (the first official AEW pay-per-view) and the episode of Dynamite on October 6, 2021 (the two year anniversary of Dynamite.) If they debuted after, they're not in there. Which sucks because that includes Danhausen, one of my absolute favorites.
Why is [wrestler] in here? Aren't they a horrible person?
So yeah, right when I was starting this, the Speaking Out stuff started coming out, and I was torn between leaving people out of a project who's entire point was to get "everyone," and adding known creeps to the piece. I tried to compromise by having them getting kicked in the face and\or making them quite small and obscured. It's why I know a bunch of people are going to ask why I drew one of the "four pillars of AEW" so small. It's 'cuz he's a creep.
Hey, some wrestlers change between process shots, what gives?
Since I've been working on this for two years, I'll look back at some of the older art and realized I could do it better. And sometimes gimmicks change. And sometimes the guy dead center of your original draft leaves the company and sometimes the guy you put off to the side because you didn't really care about him at the start goes on to become one of your favorites and AEW Champion. So in short, I'll redraw stuff if I think the original drawing doesn't work.
Anything else you want to say about this?
Uh . . . it's well over 1500 layers in Clip Studio as of this writing. The file is almost an entire gigabyte. That's insane.
Oh yeah, meant to ask . . . WHY are you doing this? It's insane.
Well, I like to draw large group shots. One of my favorite artists growing up was George Perez, and he drew every single Avenger on the cover of Avengers #1 in 1998 and it made an impact on me. As a kid, I would take large rolls of paper (my dad worked at a printer at the time, would bring home leftover paper rolls) and draw these ten foot tall super posters with all my favorite characters. Then as I got older, I started tabling at conventions. I didn't feel like my art stood out very much, so I drew a print with a dozen or so characters. Then one with twenty. Then fifty. Then the next thing you know, I'm drawing a "Where's Waldo?" picture where you have to find John Cena among 300 wrestlers. (The joke is, he's not actually there.) It sort of became my "thing." I may not be the best artist, but I'm certainly going to be the most artist.
Tumblr media
The "Can U C Me?" Where's Waldo print, the biggest thing I had drawn until this AEW project.
Got any process pictures?
Of course. I can't go two years on a project and not periodically post something to try and get that sweet, sweet validation.
Tumblr media
Drawing wrestlers in smaller chunks before copying them over to the main canvas.
Tumblr media
Placing them together to figure out the best layout.
Tumblr media
The first draft of the large canvas. The blue background is just so I can tell where I've got space.
Tumblr media
I quickly started running out of room.
Tumblr media
Around this point I realized I needed to move people around so I decided to scrap this layout and move people around. Also, Cody left so I decided to redraw the EVPs.
Tumblr media
Redrew the EVPs and started the new layout.
Tumblr media
The most up-to-date version as of 3\15\21. Started keeping track of percentages complete on the spreadsheet, started adding them to process shots.

A Jikook Guide to Run! BTS: 1-20
Tumblr media
Hi all! Welcome to part one of my overview of all jikook moments in Run! BTS and Run BEHIND.
My biggest takeaway from these early episodes is that BH didn't quite know how to make a good variety show yet. Some of the set-ups are awkward and the guys are clearly still getting used to being on camera in this format. The jikook moments aren’t as frequent or obvious. As we go on, expect less “they look at each other in a maybe meaningful way” and more “then he sat down in his lap...” That said, this set of episodes includes both the priest skit and the cops skit, so if you’re into role-play, this was your era of Run!
Episode Guide under the cut, to avoid both spoilers and taking up half your dash...
UPDATED PER THE SUGGESTIONS OF SOME LOVELY COMMENTERS. THANK YOU ALL! New content in bold.
FYI: When you don’t see “BEHIND” descriptions or photos, it means there were no notable jikook moments. I’ve given each ep a general rating and a special Jikook-ery rating, both out of 5. YMMV!
Ep 1  (n/a)
The one that’s just a commercial for the V app
Ep 2 “The Greatest Man” (Ep: 3 / KM: 1)
The one with the most homoerotic series of challenges I’ve ever seen to prove who’s the “best” man
6:28 - Jimin TWICE randomly announces during musical chairs that JK will win
Not ikook-specific, but FYI, Jungkook REALLY likes being tickled. If you want a vague idea of what the beginnings of an OT7 orgy might look like, the scene at 2:09 is for you! And if you’re curious what each member looks like putting on lipstick and holding their mouths open, check out 4:24.
Ep 3  “Theme Park” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one at Six Flags that’s not worth watching unless you enjoy shaky camera footage of people screaming on roller coasters
5:44 - When Jimin is proud of himself for having ridden a coaster, JK goes to say something to him but keeps glancing at the camera self-consciously.
6:19 - With the camera further away, JK and JM talk with each other while waiting on line
7:06 - JK fast-walks to get to JM and then leans on JM’s shoulder to check the post-ride pictures
Ep 4  “30 Second Gate” (Ep: 1 / KM: 0.5)
The one where they do fairly boring challenges in a pool
5:26 - There’s a super brief instant of JK looking over at Jimin while shyly tugging on his shirt collar. Prob not even worth being noted as a moment, but JK looks so adorable that I’m including it anyway
Ep 5  “100 Seconds Sports Day” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one with a rather repetitive relay game
5:56 - JM playfully throws a milk carton at JK when JK fails to complete his task
7:53 - JK does some “teleporting” where he goes from being behind Suga in one shot to next to JM in the following one. He stays next to JM the whole rest of the time they’re mixing the drink.
Ep 6 “Sketch: Confession” (Ep: 2 / KM: 4)
The priest sketch that launched a thousand AUs...
3:30 - Jungkook comes in to “confess his sins” to Jimin, who is playing a priest and calls him “darling.” JK confesses to using Jin’s razor while also claiming to be the eldest in BTS. Jimin tells him that he’s so handsome, it must be that he’s blessed by God and can be forgiven for most things. Jimin tells JK to give him a hug to get forgiveness for his sins. As they hug, both are smiling and the onscreen text tells us how happy Jimin is and puts a little heart next to his face during the hug. Jimin strokes JK’s cheek after and it seems to make JK a little shy. Jimin calls out “bye, darling” as he leaves, then calls him “cutie” for the camera.  For comparison’s sake, Jimin hits V on the forehead and makes J-Hope do 50 push-ups to earn forgiveness. He hugs J-Hope at the end of it and the difference between how that hug feels versus the one with JK is clear as day.
Ep 6pt2 “Sketch: Confession” (Ep: 2 / KM: 0 )
None (neither appear in this episode)
Ep 7 “Paintball” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one that reminds you paintball is more fun to play than to watch
I’ll be honest, guys, between the masked helmets they’re wearing and the constant cutting around, I cannot follow the paintball games in this episode at all. I’m going to go out on a limb and say nothing particularly shippy happens during them.
9:54 - JK picks up Jimin from behind and bounces him around for a while (we don’t know how long because the camera cuts before he’s done). It will be revealed in ep. 10 that this is part of JK’s secret mission, which is to get Jimin to say “please stop.” However, despite Jimin not looking thrilled at all the bouncing around, he doesn’t tell JK to stop.
Ep 8 “Treasure Hunt” (Ep: 2 / KM: 2)
The one where they run or ride ATVs to find flags in the woods
1:15 - Jimin says out of nowhere that he thinks JK is going to be running and tells him to be careful not to bump into anyone (I think - the subs are a little weird on this one).
13:09 - JK tries to take one of JM’s meal ticket flags. JM refuses and claims JK called him “trash.” JK (kind of?) denies this and throws his one flag on the ground in frustration. J-Hope grabs it and JK sulks a bit because he’s left with nothing.
13:33 - Jimin reverses course and gives JK one of his flags. JK is delighted. RM asks why (apparently he, Jimin, and V had a deal to share their flags?) and Jimin just responds that Jungkook is very cute (which the on-screen texts puts a heart next to).  Jimin ends up giving a flag to V, too, but he makes him beg like a dog first.
14:16 - Jimin calls JK over and gives him a brief hug / pat on the back
Ep 9 “Bungee Jump” (Ep: 1 / KM: 0.5)
The one where it is what it says on the tin
11:25 - Some jikookers have reported hearing JK say an un-captioned “pretty” here (sounds like yebbeo or yeebeun in Korean). I’ll be totally honest that I can’t really make it out, but I will put this note here in case others with better ears than mine want to check it out!
13:59 - JM has his arm around JK at the start of the shot here
Ep 10 “Spy for Silmido Island” (Ep: 2 / KM: 2)
The one where everyone eats a meal as they learn how JK has been doing secret missions the last three episodes
6:16 - JK explains that he failed his mission to get Jimin to say, “please stop.” We see flashbacks of JK trying - in addition to the above picking JM up, JK also pulled on his hair and gave him a shoulder rub (there is no explanation for why he thought that would be something JM would tell him to stop), and spraying him with a water bottle.  The main jikook takeaway from this and the confession episode seems to be that JM will let JK get away with anything because he think he’s cute.
7:00 - We see that JM inadvertently made JK fail his mission to feed the camera man because, when JK held out food, JM got JK to feed him instead
Ep 11 "Back to School" (Ep: 3 / KM: 1)
The one where Suga dresses as a girl and gets hit on by the rest of the band
21:28 - Despite Jimin doing nothing but smiling in the sketch, JK says he's the day's MVP and is weirdly sincere about it
24:05 - YMMV on jeon-lous, but he does indeed do the tongue thing here when JM is flirting with girl-Yoongi
Ep 12 "Cops" (Ep: 4 / KM: 4)
The police sketch that launched ten thousand AUs...
6:46 - "Detective" Jungkook pulls "criminal" Jimin away by his collar 8:41 - After Jimin acts cute and says he's bored, JK comes over and slaps his upper thigh before throwing Jimin over his shoulder and slapping his butt. When JK puts him down, Jimin just looks at him with a dazed smile for a moment before they continue on with the sketch.
9:30 - Jimin tries to flirt his way out of of JK’s interrogation, which JK says is for “setting fire to ARMY’s hearts with his smiling eyes.”
10:25 - After a brief interuption by “Captain” Suga, the interrogation starts having flirty vibes again, with JK smirking and making eye contact while Jimin acts bashful and speaks in a whispery voice.
11:00 - JK holds a fake gun on JM as he starts his “Lie” dance, during which he directs finger hearts towards JK. The camera focuses on JM and, by the time it shows JK again, he’s lowered the gun and put his other hand over his heart. The on-screen text says “Detective Jeon’s heart is attacked.”
12:55 - JM and JK switch roles so JM is the detective. He hits JK over the head with a book. JK has basically no visible reaction, but JM has clearly flustered himself.
Note: To explain my reasoning for these originally not being here - if you look at the other skits in this ep, they are all accusing each other of doing things to ARMY’s hearts and being weirdly flirty with each other. Like, this police station has some serious sexual harassment issues all around! That said, the vibes are unique with jikook and, upon rewatch, I came to agree with y’all that the above should’ve been included. 19:30 - Alternate version of the sketch where Jimin and JK have a dance battle that ends in both of them being put in the jail cell and told to dance.
BEHIND  0:58 - Jimin flirt-ily calls out "I'm bored; play with me, Detective" (presumably to JK since they're scene partners).  Note: Adults saying they "played" with each other is a common way to describe hanging out in Korean and doesn't necessarily have the sexual connotations it does in English.
4:08 - Jimin stares at JK as he does squats
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ep 13 "The Spy Who Returned Part 1" (Ep: 4 / KM: 2)
The ones where they play games at an indoor water park
1:00 - Jimin does an exaggerated running motion and JK slaps him to make him stop, which JM finds funny
1:43 - JM has his arm around JK
6:00 - JK jokingly(?) tells JM his wet hair looks cool
11:12 - JM calls JK their team's ace and they whisper about who he should call out from the other team
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ep 14 "The Spy Who Returned Part 2" (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
16:04 - JM jokingly hits JK for getting the answer super wrong and then they go down the waterslide together. (Note: I've seen some jikook-ers claim JK messed up on purpose so the game wouldn't end and he'd get to ride with Jimin, but I'm not sure there's actual evidence to support that theory.)
The moment that led to the picture below isn’t in the ep or the BEHIND, but I raised the episode’s KM score a full point for it
Tumblr media
Ep 15 "The Spy Who Returned Part 3" (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
TW for this ep: 5:14 - during the confessions game, Jin tells Jimin that whenever Jimin asks if he put on weight, Jin wants to say he looks like a pig. Jimin claims to not be upset after, but looks like he's going to cry and seems off for a while. Then, at 10:45, Jin reiterates that Jimin "got fat." Everyone laughs except JK, who widens his eyes and then starts chewing on his finger.
6:37 - Despite being on the same team as JK, Jimin joins J-Hope's complaints about JK coming to their room uninvited, saying that JK often brushes his teeth in their room. He accuses JK of buying the exact same toothbrush as Jimin’s and complains that they can’t tell them a part. JK says it wasn't him and then there's a weird cut to sometime later when Jimin is sitting back down again...  Just prior to this, Jimin is looking unhappy as Hobi tells a story about JK seeing him naked, but it’s hard to tell if he’s reacting to that or feeling upset about Jin’s weight comments from the previous round.
16:02 - Jimin defends Jungkook against accusations that he's the spy
BEHIND 4:30 - Jimin sits on Jungkook's lap and, when he leans over to try to get Jin to give him food, JK puts his hand on JM's hip to steady him
Ep 16 "Snowpark Winter Olympics" (Ep: 4 / KM: 1)
The one where everyone plays winter games
4:35 - When JM and JK are the finalists for the sledding round, JM thanks the viewers for their support. JK asks "what does that make me?" and yells/sings badly, which makes JM laugh. I don’t quite get it, tbh, but they seem to be enjoying themselves
14:50 - JK helps JM get his sled in place
BEHIND 3:02 - JK smiles as he gets pushed towards JM on the ice
Ep 17 "Arcade Olympics Part 1" (Ep: 2 / JK: 2)
The ones where we are reminded that playing arcade games is more fun than watching people play them
All of this and next episode, whenever they all reshuffle positions, Jimin and Jungkook end up standing next to each other. This happens pretty frequently in Run BTS generally, but it was particularly noticeable in this ep since it's not like they're on the same team or anything...
4:16 - When Jimin does a dramatic DDR finish, JK calls attention to it. JM turns to him and they lock eyes for a second
15:00 - JK cheers Jimin's name when it looks like he's going to win the basketball game
BEHIND
3:36 - JK & JM play a 4D game together Also, JK has an interesting mark on his neck on his right side that does not appear to be there in the episode itself...
Tumblr media
Ep 18 "Arcade Olympics Part 2" (Ep: 2 / JK: 1)
3:30 - JK tries (unsuccessfully) to coach Jimin on the driving game
3:45 - JK stands up for Jimin and says he's getting the hang of the game
14:36 - JM & JK laugh together at RM's failure
19:58 - It's not super clear, but it sounds like JK calls JM "Jiminie" at the end of his sentence
Tumblr media
Ep 19 "Strike" (Ep: 2 / JK: 1)
The one where BTS go bowling together and end up bowing down to JK
4:47 - JK shares that he and Jimin used to bowl together
---
If there’s anything I’ve missed or that anyone has different interpretations of, I’d love to hear it.
More episodes coming soon!

Good Morning it’s ... what year/month is this again?
Hello, hello dear new/old friend! It’s been so long since I’ve written here. Since march last year time has been so strange. It feels like eternity passed and yet none at all. Hearing others feel the same help me from thinking I’ve gone mad. :D;;
This will be obligatory life update that no one is required to read! Please feel free to skip!
My god, where do I even begin... I’ve been home office once again since November and while nice at first it began to slowly but surely chip away at my brain. Bless friends online I could talk to @_@ and I wasn’t exactly the most outgoing person in the first place but the repetitive - get up, go to the computer, work for 8 hours and go back to bed and repeat, began to really drain my brain.
Little things that used to make me happy started to slowly fade - like posting on tumblr and doing these little life updates, sharing whatever doodles I made, working on my comic project ... ... which I’m still absolutely dragging my feet with that chapter next chapter or logging and playing FF14, doing silly memes. It’s like my motivation for everything began to fade. Most of the time my brain just goes “eh why bother...” or I feel too tired and end up sleeping for 10 hours or so.
And with that I started to feel progressively less happy, more petty, more grumpy as if the world is at fault I’m not feeling like my usual bouncy ball of sunshine. I feel upset at circumstances that are way outside my control and it bleeds into all the little things I used to enjoy. I’ve stopped journaling, I’ve stopped taking DnD notes, stopped my lil goal of at least 1 sketch per day, I stopped my gratitude log, heck I started biting my nails again >.< No!! Little things started to annoy me or set me off, which a year ago I’d have wave my hand at and laugh at. And the worst part is, all this felt so, so familiar.
I’m not any special snowflake, everyone had dealt with depression or still deals with it. I had my bleak episode in my 20s where I had a period of, by my own choice, I didn’t go out of my home for months. Now it feels like my brain looks at the lockdown and goes “Oh hey I know this! We’ve been through it before! It goes like this, you lose interest in everything and stare at the wall most of the day and everything that breathes annoys you!” and honestly brain, this is the worst time to try and push this mode onto me!
I feel like I find it so hard to admit I’m regressing and by an extension, type it down cause I was so, so proud that I climbed out of that pit. I was proud I felt like I was loving the world once again! And now I feel like I’m just floating in existence every day - I’m here but not really. (Bless my patient online friends for being understanding beans in these trying times.)
But hey admitting you’ve got a problem is first step towards taking care of the problem so here I am, typing this down and soon to hit submit so no way to back away now! >u>
Yes, yes I know we can’t all be sunshine and rainbows every day and I get that. I’m not trying to force positivity into myself or the people around me. But when I begin to paint things that normally make me happy in negative colors then something is wrong cause that’s not me.
With that said...  What should I do?
I’m picking Ring Fit Adventure again (I slacked for a month OTL;; ) to kick some activity into this potato body. Sure I can’t walk outside and my country is in front of second full lock down but I can pretend I save the world from a buff dragon through power squats and jog on the way!
I think to take some art requests sometime soon cause seeing people happy sparks joy and I really miss that! Maybe I can make like Friday Night Art Request thing?
Maybe I need social media break at some point. I really want to finish a sketchbook I started and maybe make another flip through video! But youtube is distracting lol :D;;
Maybe push myself to do weekly posts here? Sort of like a journal... and well, to sort of start communicating again with everyone.
And this post got long and intimidating to hit submit! But going to try my best to climb the pit before it gets too deep. ^o^9 If you have any suggestions or, tips don’t hesitate to drop me a message! Thank you for reading this my old/new friend! I hope your day goes well and you find a spark on the way!

Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 - Review
Finally finished watching all 6 episodes of the Frozen 2 Documentary! My consensus is drum roll please... it was not very good.
Things I liked first: I loved watching the team get emotional when they saw their projects coming together (finishing Into The Unknown, etc).
Watching random guys rub rocks together for sound design was funny.
I loved looking at the Disney offices and all the merch, posters, art, etc.
The actors/workers were very charismatic and believable. They seemed to legit enjoy their work and were happy to help.
- -
Criticism:
The documentary promised to be a look into all the hard work, collaboration, blood, sweat and tears, it took to make Frozen 2, but it came off more as a look into the very final stages of Show Yourself and a few unfinished animation clips. So little of the actual movie making process was shown and it was extremely misleading and frustrating.
-
Songs:
Songs and the songwriting process were definitely the aspect of F2 Disney was most comfortable showing, but that’s saving very little because the attention per song was extremely restricted and lopsided. About 50% of the entire docu-series focuses on just Show Yourself while every other song gets about 20 to 1 minute(s) of screentime (in order from most to least discussion, it goes: Next Right Thing, Into The Unknown, Lost In The Woods, Some Things Never Change, When I’m Older, All Is Found, and Vuile isn’t even mentioned by name). And even when they did discuss these songs, they only showed the lyrics that got into the movie, no cut lyrics or alternatives were shown at all. So it was just long extended scenes of Jenn and the Lopez’ trying to decide whether they should or should not add parts to the song which we, as the viewer, already know were added. And again, they showed no alternatives, so it wasn’t a choice of A or B, it was A or maybe rewrite the middle-ish but no specifics.
They didn't even discuss the public outtakes / deleted scenes they've already released / planned to release like "Get This Right", "Seek The Truth", "Unmeltable Me", etc (they did mention “See They Sky” but nothing else).
The last thing I’d like to mention for this category is that they did discuss the intended emotions / themes of the songs they kept in. They talk about how Show Yourself was supposed to make you feel empowered and satisfyingly wrap up the story, how Next Right Thing was supposed to make you feel just as emotionally raw as Anna, etc. So I can give them credit for that. But again, these explanations became few and far between once they got into the “lesser” songs. Nor do they explain why certain songs were added to the story; for example When I’m Older’s entire existence was justified with “kids really liked it”. “Lost In The Woods” was an 80’s rock ballad because they kinda just wanted to make a 80’s song, etc.
-
Animation:
Again, just like the songs, Disney was very comfortable showing off the animation process, but only unfinished clips, models, skeletons, etc of shots that were actually used in the film and nothing else. But, I did have fun watching animators physically act out character movements, record them, and then animate them (ex: that poor girl who recorded like 5 shots of her own face singing, all super imposed on bobbing reindeer shaped bubbles for the Lost In The Woods scene lol).
The most new/deleted content they showed were storyboards and sketches of Show Yourself  where we got to see alt. backgrounds of Ahtohallan and young Iduna and and See the Sky which was a dance-off type thing between the Northuldra / Arendelle soldiers.
-
Story:
This, and every consecutive category, is where this documentary was severely lacking. They showed no alternative scenes or storylines like “Hard Nokks” or the secret library. Nor did they go into the intended messages/significance of the story elements they did use, like why they chose to trap the Enchanted Forest in mist, why they spared Arendelle, why Elsa left Arendelle, why they chose a dam for the physical boundary they needed to destroy (even though apparently it was loosely based on an IRL dam that hurt the IRL Sami people; I got this from outside resources), etc.
They also don’t dive into any character motivations (outside of the context of Elsa in Show Yourself/Into The Unknown, Anna in Next Right Thing, and Kristoff in Lost In The Woods).
They very explicitly refused to discuss any changes they made to the script. In episode 5 they spend a lot of time emphasizing the importance of audience feedback but refuse to show any actual feedback (they even talk about how they gave out questionnaires but don’t even show us a blank one). This was very blatant and annoying because they spent a lot of time looking DIRECTLY at the camera going on about how important feedback was, how being willing to change was important, how they DID change things, and how change impacted a lot of the movie (ex: cutting songs and simplifying things for children), but refused to show anything. The one (1) change they did show was the prologue, so we see young Anna and Elsa playing before we see Agnarr's flashback, but that was pretty much it.
-
Design / Environments:
Character design and dress design was not discussed at all. They do show us a few seconds of fabric physics for Elsa’s spirit dress and show us how they designed Olaf when he was pretending to be Grand Pabbie (using his snowball feet as ears and ferns as a cape), but nothing else. You’d think that since Elsa and Anna both had like 5 costume changes each, they’d want to discuss that, but no. Nor do they even mention Iduna’s shawl / the unity snowflake which had a ton of significance in the movie. They also don’t discuss the designs of the spirits or their symbols (or even water animation for the Nokk’s body which would’ve been perfect in the animation portions).
-
Research:
The only research we see them doing is visiting IRL glaciers for Ahtohallan in episode 3. This was neat and all, but also very bittersweet because they really emphasized how spectacular and breathtaking Ahtohallan was going to be, but it was literally just an empty cave made of ice; and not even shiny ice (like Elsa’s castle) just dark, flat, and blue. Like I know creating environments is hard but Ahtohallan is very literally empty besides a few extremely narrow hallways and dark colorless abysses. Like it may have been hard to build in a computer but it was NOT creative nor something to boast about (especially compared to the concept art they showed). But this is all my opinion...
They do show a black sand beach which greatly inspired the black sea, but otherwise they don’t show the research it took to properly replicate the Enchanted Forest (like plant life and ecology) nor any of the locations Elsa and the gang briefly passed through on the way to the forest.
Most egregiously of all they completely omit the Sami community and their contributions to the film. They don’t address them by name or even acknowledge the Northuldra are based on them. Nor do they mention the apparent collaboration they did with the Sami community to accurately replicate their culture. The closest they get to acknowledging them or their hand in the creation of F2 was that the subtitles described Vuilie was a "yoik". Which does not count, since no one even says it out loud. You could dismiss all my other complaints about the lack of content and deleted scenes, but this is just flat out disrespectful.
-
Ending Note:
To me, I just don't see the point of this. If this entire documentary was condensed into an hour long YouTube video and explicitly only about the songs/animation I would've been perfectly happy and would've given this an A! Maybe even more because the little parts about the sound design and interviews with the cast would've been little bonuses. But I can't because this is a 6 episode Disney+ only "documentary" on all of F2.
Tl;Dr - I expected a lot more, but was severely disappointed. I wanted an inside sneak peak on the making of one of Disney’s most iconic and my personal favorite IP, but instead I got 240 minutes of Jennifer Lee and the Lopez’ trying to feel the vibe of Show Yourself and crying. Surely they could’ve cut some of that out to talk about literally anything else. Watching this just felt pointless and I was never engaged nor were my curiosities satisfied.
-
Extra Note:
For about 10 minutes at the end of one episode (which may seem short but that’s like ¼ of an episode), the documentary takes a detour to talk about Ryder Buck. Ryder Buck was Chris Buck’s (one of the director) son who died shortly after F1 was released, and I mean no disrespect but the sequence dedicated to him had nothing to do with the film or documentary. One of the F2 character’s was named after Ryder, but that was the only connection (they don’t even mention if Ryder in Frozen was based personality-wise on IRL Ryder, just that they shared a name). The whole 10 minute sequence was literally just a charity event in Ryder’s name and Chris and his wife sitting on a mountain talking about how they miss him. Again, no disrespect and I’m sorry Ryder Buck died so young, but a documentary on Frozen 2 wasn’t an appropriate place or time to talk about him.
Crossing out this section because some people took this as an opportunity to attack Chris Buck and his son, which is completely unacceptable and disgusting.

❗ HELP A HOMELESS ARTIST - EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS OPEN❗
Please reblog this if you can - we need all the help we could get.
My name is Link and me and my family have been homeless for quite some time now (a year) and we've been motel hopping since then. I opened up commissions to pay for our daily rent and food, which we are really struggling with. We currently don't have food in the fridge and we barely have enough to have somewhere to live each day. And as if things weren't hard enough, recently my father has been hospitalized due to his diabetes and blood sugar issues that's caused him to go into several chills episodes and caused the left side of his body to lose control and seize with really bad tremors, he can't even use his hands.
I don't know how his condition is going to go from here and with things being so dire, I want to be sure that I can provide and help my family no matter what happens. Especially when he comes back, he's going to need monitors and needles, which is going to be hard for us to pay for even though he needs it.
I'll put my prices and examples below. If you're interested in a commission, you can either pm me here or email me at ([email protected]). If you can't help financially, reblogging and boosting this post would mean a lot since it opens new possible opportunities for me to provide us a semi stable way of life. Thank you so much in advance.

New Year’s Goals
September
I DID IT BETTER :) I wanted to do 90% this month and I did! I had to make a small list on the last week to remember me the topics I was procrastinating and I finished everything on time :))))
1 Try 2 new foods every month (food, beverage, recipe) + no meat for 2 days)
I didn't ate meat for 2 days
1 rice without meat
2 radish
2 Be fluent in esperanto and active in the community
I've been doing stuff on BEJO, translating stuff, calling people to speak, etc.
3 Practice having conversations via audio and video
I practiced a couple times.
-Bonus: Write a 10k fiction in french and publish it on Wattpad
I wrote this on the beginning of the year, and I didn't wrote a single page since then. My problem is not the french part, but the creative part. I have an idea of a romantic sapphic love story, but that's it, also I tried to write this month and I wrote 209 words and that's it, I have no ideas.
And I also don't feel the need to write a third fiction at the same time, so after explaining myself, this topic will continue here, but as a bonus.
4 Try to study russian again and focus on the basic
I revised the alphabet and sing along with songs as a way to better learn the alphabet.
5 Watch a movie every week and put them on doesthedogdie/ (at least the less popular movies)
1. Gemini (Japan, 1999)
2 Scary Movie 4 (USA, 2006)
3 Upside Down 3 (Brazil, 2019)
4 Moving (Japan, 1993)
5 Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (USA, 2014)
6 Read 5 books (I want to finish a book in october)
I read many chapters of Crime and Punishment, I finally passed the middle.
I read half of a book in Esperanto called "Island, Men and Love", it's a short gay book.
And I finally started reading The Communist Manifesto from Marx and Engels (people lied to me, it's not extra easy as I expected lol, but maybe is easier than the others political and economical books, but this won't stop me)
7 Finalize 1 art every month (it doesn’t have to be good, just finished)
I started a lot, but didn't finish a lot, but I finished a couple, so yeah.
8 Doing some exercise every week
YEAH, I've been walking on my garden for like 40-100 minutes almost every day and I glad I started, I feel relieved, I love walking.
9 Try to make listening podcasts an habit
Yeah! It's not an habit, but I did it.
-Bonus: Learn toki pona
Nope.
10 Write a fiction in esperanto
I did and I finally have a clear idea of the plot.
11 Try 1 new thing per month
I painted some stuff on my walls.
12 Interact on virtual groups (telegram, tumblr, whatever)
I did.
13 Be more proactice and publish my stuff somewhere online (draw, fiction, whatever)
Sadly I just published stuff on instagram, but it's enough.
14 Sketch every week
I did :)
15 Study spanish, focusing on write, listen and speak
I watched the last 8 episodes (1 hour each) of La Usurpadora with spanish subtitles.
16 Study french, focusing on write and listen and speak
I want to rewrite the french and spanish topic too.
I just want to study french, read news from francophones countries, watch youtube videos etc, that's enough for me. I'm not talkative and I don't plan to travel to Europe in the near future, so I don't really need to focus on that.
Whatever, I didn't studied anyways lol :c I need to study, for real
17 Study whatever theories (such as astronomy, lingustics, ecology, whatever)
I studied marxism (besides the manifesto, I also listened 2 podcasts about it), primitivism (a couple texts my primitivis friend send me) and Cowspiracy is a documentary about veganism, climate change and ecology (it's on netflix).
18 Study for vestibular (mathematics, physics, geography, philosophy, sociology, biology, chemistry, history, english, portuguese, brazilian literature and essay). For october: math, write 2 essays and practice (observation and from imagination) drawing
Not enough, but yeah.
17/18 = 94%
I'm glad I did all of this and I want to this again in october, I want to do 80% now and do everything with more intensity, because I have no routine, so I procrastinate A LOT.

Martin Lawrence
Tumblr media
Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence (born April 16, 1965) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, talk show host, writer, and former Golden Gloves boxer. Lawrence came to fame during the 1990s, establishing a Hollywood career as a leading actor, most notably in the Fox television sitcom Martin and the films House Party, Boomerang, Bad Boys, Wild Hogs, Nothing to Lose, Blue Streak, Life, Big Momma's House, and A Thin Line Between Love and Hate.
Early life
The fourth of six children, Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence was born on April 16, 1965, in Frankfurt, West Germany, to American parents. His father, John Lawrence, was serving in the U.S. military at the time. Lawrence was named after civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and U.S. President John F. Kennedy. When Lawrence was seven, his father left the military, and the family moved from Germany back to the United States, settling in Landover, Maryland, in the Washington, D.C., area. After his parents divorced in 1973, Lawrence rarely saw his father, who was a police officer. His mother, Chlora (née Bailey), worked several jobs, including as a sales representative and cashier at various department stores to support her family.
During his teen years, Lawrence excelled at boxing.
While living in Maryland, Lawrence attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School and Friendly High School, and he lived in Apple Grove, becoming a Mid-Atlantic Golden Gloves boxing contender.
Career
In his early days, Lawrence did comedy shows in the Washington, D.C., area and supported himself through odd jobs. Comedian, Ritch Snyder saw his act and suggested Lawrence make connections in New York. Lawrence ended up moving to New York City and found his way to the legendary The Improv. Shortly after appearing at The Improv, Lawrence won a performance spot on Star Search. He did well on the show and made it to the final round, but did not win. However, executives at Columbia Pictures Television saw Martin's performance and offered him the role of Maurice Warfield in What's Happening Now!!; this was his first acting job. Upon cancellation of that show, Lawrence found bit parts in various films and television series. His breakthrough role was as Cee in Do the Right Thing. Other roles followed in films such as the House Party series, Talkin' Dirty After Dark, and the Eddie Murphy vehicle Boomerang. During this period, entertainment mogul Russell Simmons selected him to host the groundbreaking series Def Comedy Jam on HBO. Def Comedy Jam gave many comedians (including Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle, Mike Epps, Bernie Mac and Cedric the Entertainer) mainstream exposure.
During his stint with Def Comedy Jam, Lawrence appeared in his own hit series, Martin, which aired on Fox. The show ran from 1992 to 1997 and was an enormous success. Martin was the flagship of Fox's Thursday-night line-up, which drew millions of viewers away from NBC's "Must See TV" line-up. He hosted Saturday Night Live on February 19, 1994, where he made crude remarks about women's genitalia and personal hygiene; the monologue was completely edited out of NBC reruns and syndicated versions, and Lawrence was banned from the show for life. Martin's ratings continued to skyrocket so much that Fox became more of a contender against NBC and came closer to being considered among the top television networks.
After Martin ended its run in 1997, Lawrence found work in comedy films. He often starred as the second lead opposite actors including Eddie Murphy, Danny DeVito, and Tim Robbins. Many of his films were blockbusters at the box office, including Nothing to Lose, Life, Blue Streak, and Big Momma's House. He also starred in critical- and box-office failures, including Black Knight and National Security. Regardless, his salary steadily increased to over $10 million per film role. He continues to work in film, with such films as Big Momma's House 2, which opened at No. 1 at North American box office and grossed almost $28 million its first weekend, and Wild Hogs (2007), in which he played a bored suburbanite seeking adventure on the open road in a biker comedy alongside John Travolta, Tim Allen and William H. Macy.
In 2006, Lawrence appeared on Inside the Actors Studio, during which Lawrence briefly brought back to life some of the characters he had portrayed on Martin. He also appeared in Open Season as Boog, one of the main characters of the film. The movie also starred Ashton Kutcher, Debra Messing, and Gary Sinise.
In 2008, Lawrence starred in Disney's College Road Trip co-starring with Raven-Symoné. It was his first G-rated film, but not his first appearance in a children's film: he supplied a voice for Open Season (2006) opposite Ashton Kutcher.
At the 2009 BET Awards he appeared in a spoof movie trailer with Jamie Foxx for a fictional movie, The Skank Robbers, that featured their respective television characters Sheneneh Jenkins and Ugly Wanda. In 2010, Fox announced that it was producing a film based on the sketch, featuring Foxx, Lawrence, and actress Halle Berry.
In 2011, Lawrence reprised his role as FBI agent Malcolm Turner in Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, the third film in the Big Momma series.
In January 2013, it was announced that Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer were considering pairing up to star in a comedy for Lionsgate TV. Partners, paired the two actors as Chicago lawyers from "vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court on the worst day of their lives." The show premiered August 4, 2014, but was cancelled after one season after receiving poor reviews.
In 2020, Lawrence reprised his role as Detective Marcus Burnett in the third installment of the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life, again alongside Will Smith. The film was considered a financial success, grossing $112 million in its first four days of release.
Personal life
Relationships and family
Lawrence was engaged to actress Lark Voorhies in 1993. He married Miss Virginia USA, Patricia Southall, in 1995. Lawrence and Southall have a daughter, Jasmine Page (born January 15, 1996). They divorced in 1997. In 1997, Lawrence began a relationship with Shamicka Gibbs. They married on July 10, 2010, at Lawrence's Beverly Hills home. Actors Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington were among the 120 wedding guests; Lawrence and Gibbs have two daughters, Iyanna Faith (born November 9, 2000) and Amara Trinity (born August 20, 2002). Lawrence filed for divorce from Gibbs on April 25, 2012, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for joint legal and physical custody of the children.
Lawrence owns a farm near Purcellville, Virginia. For several years, he owned a large mansion in the Beverly Park community in Beverly Hills, where he wedded Gibbs. However, following their divorce, the property was available for lease at $200,000 per month in June 2012. In 2013, the property was up for sale for $26.5 million, and eventually he sold it for $17.2 million to Bruce Makowsky, buying an Encino, Los Angeles property for $6.63 million.
Arrests, lawsuits and health problems
In July 1995, while on the set filming A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Lawrence lashed out in a violent rage and was then hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
On May 8, 1996, he became increasingly erratic and was arrested after he brandished a pistol in the middle of an intersection on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, screaming, "They're trying to kill me!" He was again hospitalized, with his public-relations agent citing exhaustion and dehydration as the reasons for this episode.
In January 1997, Lawrence's Martin co-star Tisha Campbell-Martin filed a lawsuit against him, alleging sexual harassment and abuse both on and off set. By April 1997, Campbell had settled the lawsuit, and returned to appear in the last two episodes of the series.
In March 1997, Lawrence was arrested after punching a man in a Hollywood nightclub.
During August 1999, Lawrence slipped into a three-day coma after collapsing from heat exhaustion while jogging in 100 °F (38 °C) heat in preparation for Big Momma's House while wearing heavy clothing and a "plastic suit." He recovered in the hospital after nearly dying due to a body temperature of 107 °F (42 °C), his breathing assisted by a ventilator.
