Breaking up with them -Jean and Keqing
Characters: Jean Gunnhildr & Keqing
Genre: Angst
A/N: GN reader in Jean's, Male reader in Keqing's, a passing mention of sex, no comfort. Keqing is quite mean in this one.
Tumblr media
Jean Gunnhildr
You knew what you signed up for when you accepted Jean's proposal. Long hours at the office limited the time you two could spend together, and you were okay with it. At first. After three months of seeing her working herself down to the bone, you started taking interest in what she was *actually* busying herself with. You asked the other closest person to her, Lisa. And what you found was... You had conflicted feelings about it. On one side, imagining Jean climbing the rooftops in search of signposts blown away by the wind was quite funny, albeit frustrating. On the other hand, it broke your heart. This was what she was doing instead of taking care of herself? Instead of eating regularly, sleeping, spending time with you?
Tumblr media
Another date idea, another promise. Another disappointment. You agreed on hanging out at 9PM on Star Snatch Cliff. You figured it would be late enough for Jean to have finished her work, but not too late to be tired. And Jean, despite having agreed to it, didn't show up. You waited for about two hours before heading back to the town. All of the candles, the bottle of dandelion wine, crackers and cheese you've prepared, splayed out on the blanket, looked like they were mocking you. How stupid you've been, they say, to think that she would come. You were even thinking that yourself. You took a sizable book with you to keep yourself from getting bored. It became a habit of yours when the streak of missed dates reached three.
Before you left for the city, the candles landed in the sea.
The first person you saw in the headquarters was Otto. You inquired about Jean's location, and heard the expected answer. It turned out that she passed out on her desk. Normally, you would scoop her up into your arms and carry her home, jokingly scolding the woman for her behavior. Maybe you would have done that two months ago. Now, you just shaked her gently.
As soon as her eyes met yours, she jolted upright. Her gaze quickly turned towards the grandfather clock in her room. It was well past midnight. She opened her mouth to speak, but you cut her off.
"What was it this time, Acting Grandmaster? Fighting some Hilichurls a boy with a sword could handle for a few thousand Mora? Or delivering fowls and berries to the Good Hunter?" You asked, a bit more harshly than you wanted.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, I really am. I just got all of these papers to fill, and I really had to complete them, I swear, and one hour turned into two and... and... it came out as it did." A slurry of words came out of her mouth in response. You could tell the tone was apologetic, but it meant nothing. It sounded like she cared, but nothing could be further from the truth. If she really was, she would have at least tried to change.
"Sure, sure. Let me see what the fuss is about." Jean raised her hand to stop you, but you snatched a handful of files from the top of her little pile of shame.
"Favonius kitchen spendings." You flipped to another page. "Break room damage review. Maid work orders. What is this, and why do you have to waste your time on it?"
Jean stayed silent. She lowered her gaze, feeling a pool of shame in her stomach. There was no answer, really. She had a habit of taking all the bureaucracy she was offered. Jean knows this is bad, you've told her countless times. She promised to change, but it always went back to the starting point. She knew this was her fault.
Seeing her dejected expression, you almost felt sorry for fighting Jean right now, at this hour. Almost.
You still pulled out the wine bottle, and headed for her cupboard. Upon seeing your reflection in the clean glass, however, you halted yourself. Was this really healthy? Are you really going to try again? Isn't this madness, trying something you know won't get the expected results over and over again, hoping to see a change?
Yes, this was indeed wrong.
You went back towards the door, turning to the large flower pot in the corner. It housed a healthy bush of blooming dandelions. It was a gift from you for her twenty-third birthday. Getting these to grow in a pot was a struggle, even for Albedo whose help you enlisted. But after a few months you managed it, and you couldn't have felt more proud of it. It all seemed so stupid now.
In a burst of frustration, or sadness - at this point you weren't sure - you removed the cork (you've already unsealed the bottle to sip a little of the alcohol in order to help you cope with the cold and loneliness hours before) and tilted the bottle over the decoration. Jean watched in horror as the wine poured down to the soil, staining it red. Tears formed in her eyes. There was nothing she could say, nothing she could do. For the last year you showed her immense patience and understanding, helped her everywhere you could, comforted her when in need and she couldn't eve find a few hours in her day for you.
"Find me when you finally come to your senses, Jean."
She heard the door click close, leaving her in silence. Holding her emotions in became impossible as the realization dawned on her. She buried her face in her hands, and laid down on her desk.
It was all her fault.

Keqing
Loving Keqing was hard, to say the least. Being the Yuheng came with a lot of responsibilities, meaning little free time usually remained for you two to enjoy. Unfortunately, that 'free time' of hers would often turn into voluntary overtime, leaving you to spend your time alone. It was bearable at first. You met in the morning for breakfast before she scurried off to her tasks, and late in the night to rest together. She made a lot of promises to 'free up her schedule', and occasionally she really did. But the time you spent together slowly grew more awkward as her workload increased. Less and less interactions took place between you. It came down to a few 'good mornings' and 'how was your days', maybe some 'good nights' as well. The long debates about the future, friendly arguments about values, shopping and hiking, were gone. The spark in her eyes when you finally had free time was gone, replaced with a distant expression and a dull voice. Most nights you would just stare at the ceiling, holding your hand on the empty side of the bed to feel any connection to your girlfriend. Sometimes this loneliness would last for weeks. But it was your second month of isolation, and you were reaching a breaking point.
Tumblr media
You pick at the food on your plate. On the opposite side of the table sits Keqing, practically inhaling the Golden Shrimp Balls you made her. It was late afternoon, and she had much more things to do. In a rare moment of realization, she took a fifteen minute break to visit you and have a meal together. In her eyes you could see all the thoughts rushing through her brain. None of the considerations were about you, however. Not a thought, even a passing one. She didn't try to spark a conversation at any point. Actually, scratch that. Having a meal together is saying too much. You were just eating at the same table.
Keqing pushes the empty plate towards you, and moves to get up.
"Thank you fo-"
You stand up and grab her forearm, preventing her from running off again.
"No, Keqing. We need to talk." You say firmly, not letting go.
She rolls her eyes, a gesture which makes your blood run faster.
"Y/N, is it really that important? I have places to go. Can't we put this off for later?" She asks, politely, but in a rushed fashion.
"Put off, you say? Put off for when, exactly?"
"For when I have free time, obviously. But that's not now, Y/N. I'm really busy with the Qixing because of the Lant-"
"The Qixing." You cut her off again, much to her frustration. "The Qixing. It's all there is to you, isn't it?"
Keqing relaxes her tug on your arm, seemingly caught off-guard by your statement.
"Come again?" She asks.
"I rarely see you do anything other than sign papers and run errands for Ningguang. You work six hours of overtime every day. On your own demand." You point out.
"Yes, and what about it?" She sounds annoyed now.
"What about it? Well, I get the feeling you prioritize them over me."
She opens her mouth to bite back, but closes it shortly. She tries again.
"That's not true. I do not prefer my job over you."
"Oh really? When was the last time we did something together?"
"We... We made love a few times recently, have we not? Isn't it enough for you?"
What.
She was right. You did. But the sex didn't make up for her negligent behavior, especially that it was so obviously forced. There was no passion, no excitement from either of you, like with your first few times. There was no chemistry between you. She didn't arrange any romantic meeting like you always did. She just randomly came up to you one night and asked, practically demanded it. You fulfilled her wish, obviously, but she didn't look very satisfied. Her mind was clearly somewhere else. As soon as you were done, she went for the bathroom and back to sleep in a span of ten minutes. She needed to get to work in six hours, so she wanted to get any sleep she could. All of this made it feel not like quality time, but like scraps of attention thrown your way.
And she thinks it's all you need from her? You voiced your concerns.
"You think so low of me?"
"Low?"
"Do you think it's all I need from you? Do you think a few kisses will suddenly make up for all of those times you've left me hanging, alone in the cold, because something came up?"
She huffs.
"Building a strong and prosperous Liyue is my dream, and I'm willing to sacrifice my personal things for it."
You laugh at just how selfish she is.
"You don't consider me a party in this scenario? You call me a thing? Oh, and wasn't starting a family one of your dreams, too? You said it a few months back, when we went on a trip around the coast. Have you forgotten already?"
Keqing furrows her brows, but the frown of annoyance doesn't leave her features.
"I want to make this country safe before we do that. These are the basic conditions, you know."
"A basic condition is also having a loving husband who wants the same, is it not?
"You don't love me?" It's the first question she asks, almost instinctively. It's the easiest thing to inquire about, and may give her some time to think of a response.
"I don't think that's the case anymore, Keqing."
Your answer throws her off guard.
"What do you mean?" She asks, now much less dismissive of your entire exchange.
"You feel... like a stranger to me. You rarely spend time with me nowadays. When was the last time you had a free day, during which we could just rest and do something fun? Go shopping, or to the mountains? Where are the long, meaningful talks we used to have?"
She is pensive. Combing through her memory yields no results of any recent rest days.
"I know it's been stale between us, I've been snowed under work, but I promise it's going to get better soon." Her voice is not so firm anymore.
"I'm sorry, but it's been two months. For sixty days you have neglected me. You showed me that strangers are more important than me. What was that hangout with the Traveler about? You can find time for him, but not for me?"
She remembers now. Indeed, she entertained Aether for a few hours, at first for job-related reasons. But it was simply fun being around him and Paimon, even up to the point when she agreed to go have a meal with the two. It ended up taking an entire day.
Her eyes widen as, slowly, the realization dawns on her. She forgot. Forgot about you.
"S-surely you don't want to...?" She asks, hoping to get a comforting response.
"Yes, Keqing. I think it's best we split up here. "
No.
No no no.
"B-but... what about o-our dream? About our family, our wedding, our future?"
"It's not your dream. If it was, we wouldn't be talking about it right now. But looks like you treated this more like a distraction. You treated me as a distraction."
Her heart cracks more and more with every word.
"That's n-not true!"
You let go of her hand and turn to leave.
"So I won't distract you any further. You have a country to run, after all."
Keqing grabs your forearm weakly, hoping, praying to make you stay.
"Don't g-go. Please."
You yank your arm away, and move away from the table.
"Goodbye, Lady Yuheng. Good luck with your work."
You've left the restaurant, and the woman is alone, safe for a few people in the corner. Her title falling from your lips hurt. It felt so cold and spiteful, despite being said so emotionlessly. Her mind raced, attempting to cover everything that would change from now on. Her plan was left in splinters. Since you were now gone, she couldn't propose on top of mt. Tianheng, like she envisioned it. You couldn't get married in the Jade Chamber. You couldn't plan and build your own house from the ground up. And you couldn't have children. You couldn't travel to Inazuma, couldn't have a beach day, couldn't start a garden, couldn't adopt a pet.
All of her dreams involving you just burnt to the ground in a span of merely ten minutes.
Her knuckles are white from how powerful her grip is on her purple dress. Keqing's fingers wrinkle the material as soft tears flow over her cheeks. She stiffles a sob.
Gone.
Everything is gone.

Waiting out the Storm (Keqing Oneshot)
a/n: hello lovely people, i'm back with a little piece of writing i've been working on for a couple of days :) it's been a while since i've actually written something but..... here i am. also thanks so much to @/ducky-is-dead-inside for giving this a test read
archive link here
word count: 854
summary: It was a rainy night in Liyue, and you were about to put on a nice movie and relax on your couch when suddenly, you hear a few timid knocks at your door. You open it to see Keqing crying at your doorstep
The last thing you expected to see when you opened your front door late at night was Keqing, fighting back her tears and losing horribly.
She was trembling, her hair hanging in her face and her normally pristine clothes wrinkled and messy. You thought you heard a small sniffle, but you weren’t sure.
The scene presented before you made no sense. Keqing was the collected one. Even though she was often stressed and sleep deprived, she always took her job as the Yuheng very seriously and handled everything with grace. Your brain couldn't connect the sniffling girl you saw in front of you to the powerful one you saw every day. Until now.
“Keqing?” you spoke softly. You felt almost as if being too loud would cause her to completely break down.
“Can I come in?” she whispered, her voice thick with tears.
You shifted ever so slightly, giving her the space to squeeze past you into the house. Once you saw that she had made it inside, you quickly shut the door. The last thing she would want was the people of Liyue seeing her so distressed. She quietly slipped off her shoes and set herself on your messy couch.
“Keqing?” you repeated, as you had nothing else to say. You were still stunned and staring at her like an idiot which, in hindsight, probably wasn't the best move. It was just so weird seeing her in such distress. She rarely showed emotion in the first place, much less any type of sadness.
You walked towards her, your footsteps silent. You couldn’t really explain your need to be so quiet around her at this moment. She just felt so fragile, like a glass ornament. Everything needed to be slow and deliberate. You sat down, trying not to shift your weight too much.
That was when she started really crying. At first, you didn’t even notice as you sat next to her. But, soon enough, silvery tears started flowing down her cheeks. She was so quiet about it, you could tell she had spent many nights silently sobbing in her room. But soon enough, her cries became louder, the sound echoing into your very core as she softly pressed her body against yours.
You wrapped her arms around her and squeezed her tightly.
Suddenly, she withdrew from you and sat back up, wiping her tears with the heel of her palm.
“Keqing, what’s wrong?” you hesitated, looking at her.
She wasn’t one to share anything about her private life, and even in a situation like this she wasn’t likely to. So you were understandably taken aback when she started to speak.
“I don’t know.” she finally spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.
“What do you mean, you don’t know?” you barked. You didn’t mean to sound so harsh, but you could definitely tell she was lying. “Sorry, I didn’t mean for it to-“ you started.
“It’s okay.” she sniffed.
“Can you please tell me what’s going on with you?” you said, trying a softer approach.
“I’ve been feeling awful lately. I haven’t slept in a week, thinking about festivals and zoning and complaints about who knows what. But, I can’t bring myself to do them all. I just sit in my office all day, watching the papers pile and pile. I can’t force myself to get up and just start.”
Keqing started to sniffle again as more tears started to leak from her eyes.
“I shouldn’t be Yuheng if I can’t handle the job. I thought I had everything under control, but I suppose I don’t anymore.”
“Keqing..”
She smiled bitterly. “I was warned that serving as one of the Qixing would be taxing, and if I can’t handle it anymore, I’m no longer suited for the position.”
“Keqing, you won’t be branded as a failure for taking a break once in a while.” you sighed.
“I have been told that much too often, but what about all I’ve fought for? For the past few months, I’ve been trying to prove that we humans can take charge of our futures and be responsible for Liyue. Having someone else do my job alongside me would go against everything I’ve said.” she said, wiping a tear away with the back of her hand quite aggressively.
“ Keqing, being independent doesn’t mean you need to refuse all help. You’re overworked, and even though your job carries many responsibilities, it shouldn’t be taking this much out of you. You need to rest.”
“I-” she started to cry again, “I can’t fail.”
“You won’t. But to make sure of that, you need a break. Hire an assistant or two, just someone to help you deal with all of this work you need to do.”
“If I do, we will never speak of this again. Agreed?” she said, rather sharply for someone who was still crying.
“Deal. But I want you to know you can always come to me if you need anything.” you said.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you for your kindness, y/n, it means a lot to me.” she smiled briefly.
“No problem.”
Take care.

Keqing was in favor of technology, of progress, and being able to avance further without being restrain by tradition, without discarding them. She understand that they are important to people but that shouldn't stop the progress.
The creator was one of them. Far than being just a tradition, it held back the nation of Liyue for a long time, and even today. That is why Keqing was reluctant as seing the creator being reborn. Of course, meeting the creator in place of the seven Qixing and representing Liyue was a honor. She would have been truly foolish to let pass such an occasion. With Rex Lapis stepping down dead at the rite of ascension, it was up to the Qixing to show up at the meeting between Liyue and the creator.
She was chosen as the one that would go there, as she has bright ideas for the futur that the Creator might be please to hear. Her bold suggestion might show to the creator a new view on Liyue.
Anxiety was eating her whole, making her repeat her speech a hundred time, the fear was controlling her, making her move like it intended to, forcing her to feel inconfortable even in her own clothes. Her own stomach betraying her by letting bile go to her mouth before forcing it back to her stomach.
Fear of disappointing this high status person. Someone she isn't allow to annoy. She won't messed up. She didn't do all that just to fail.
On the day of the meeting, it wasn't fear that she felt. It was pure horror. While entering the room, she wasn't overwhelmed by pure, divine power. No shine in the eyes of the creator. No nothing. Fear take her instead of devotion.
The only thing the Qixing couldn't foreseen was the possibility of the creator being a fake. And that by having less faith, by not being blinded by it, she would pass for a heretic, if it was known.
From this day on, she would have no one to talk to anymore.

・❥・When they find out you're lacking motivation
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ Synopsis-- You we're struggling to even get out of bed in the mornings. You were rapidly losing motivation and didn't know what to do. That's when these characters heard what was happening and came to see if you were okay.
╰┈➤ Gender neutral reader
╰┈➤ Venti , Albedo , Kazuha , Ayaka , Keqing , Diluc , Heizou , Kokomi , Yae , Ei
╰┈➤ Warnings -- being depressed , lacking motivation.
: ̗̀➛ Venti was very quick to catch on. Cmon, He's the anemo archon. He's been alive for a while and he knows what it means when somebody won't leave their home for a prolonged amount of time.
: ̗̀➛ He immediately thinks to go to your home to check in on you. He brings some food because he suspects all you've eaten was junk for the past week or two. He gets your favorite dish from Great Hunter and then goes to see you.
: ̗̀➛ When he gets there, he sits you up in your bed and gives you your dish and asks what's wrong.
: ̗̀➛ "Oh, my dearest friend, what's wrong? You can tell me anything and I promise I'll help as much as I can. Believe me!"
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Albedo notices how whenever he hung out with you at your home, you seemed sluggish and didn't really speak as much.
: ̗̀➛ Believe it or not, He's really good at psychology and reading people. He didn't have to be a genius to know something was up, but he couldn't just ask infront of everyone. He didn't want you to feel embarrassed.
: ̗̀➛ He invites you to a secluded area with pretty scenery. When you both get there, he starts asking questions such as "Are you okay?" and "Do you need to talk?"
: ̗̀➛ Though he can't understand others emotions well, it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to cheer someone up. He lets you lean on his shoulder and talk about how you feel and responds with an occasional nod, not wanting to interrupt.
: ̗̀➛ "I see.. I'm glad you came out here. It must've been difficult. I promise to invite you on these kinds of trips more often so you have a reason to get out of bed. How does that sound?"
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Kazuha was staying in your home with you for a short break in his traveling. He wanted not only to avoid the bad weather and pain of camping outdoors, but also to see you.
: ̗̀➛ He noticed how you were not really up to do the things he suggested you both did and got concerned, especially when you said you weren't feeling well enough to go on a date with him at the fanciest restaurant that you had loved.
: ̗̀➛ Like the gentleman he his, he brought you flowers and a card and left it on your bed when you were getting food, and when you returned to your bed, he hugged you tightly.
: ̗̀➛ "If there's anything I could do for you, please let me know. I don't want you in low spirits" he had spoken softly, even softer than usual. He didn't want to catch you off guard. On the contrary, he wanted to gladden you.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Ayaka is extremely familiar with the feeling of being unmotivated. She had dealt with the feeling herself, especially after her parents passing. Ayato had taught her coping skills, and she was able to visit your estate and help teach you what she was taught years before.
: ̗̀➛ She would go to your home everyday and sit and talk to you. She'd teach you how to cope in a healthy way and she'd slowly start getting you out of bed and help you clean around your home and supported you taking breaks every so often
: ̗̀➛ If you ever had some sort of setback, she'd remind you that setbacks are normal and not to get angry at yourself for it. On the more tough days, she'd bring you some snacks prepared by Thoma and sing you to sleep.
: ̗̀➛ "I am so proud of you. Even if you don't get out of bed for a few days. I'm here for you and so many others are too! Please don't beat yourself up over this."
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Though it may seem Keqing is always swamped with work, she could never forget about you or not notice when something is up.
: ̗̀➛ She would most likely be the first to notice if you didn't leave the house for a day. She would find out by asking citizens if they've seen you. After hearing they haven't seen you in a while, she rushes to your house.
: ̗̀➛ When she finds you, she gets pretty angry. Not at you, but at herself. She wishes she could've seen the signs and maybe that if she wasn't always working she could've prevented this.
: ̗̀➛ She goes to your kitchen and makes some homemade soup for you and got you some water and then sat down with you and let you talk about how you felt whenever you were ready.
: ̗̀➛ "It's okay if you need to talk, but also okay if you're not ready to just yet. I miss you and I hope to see you tomorrow if that'd be alright. If you don't feel up for it, i'll come back everyday for you."
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Diluc had been thinking of you all day. He wished to get out of the Angel's Share sooner, but he was stuck there because of a drunk bard who hadn't paid just yet.
: ̗̀➛ As soon as he gets off work, he heads straight to your home with your favorite drink, just as a greeting gift.
: ̗̀➛ When he walked in, he noticed how you hadn't done laundry in weeks and you were still in bed, even though it was far past noon.
: ̗̀➛ He doesn't really know the best way to approach the situation, so he just goes off his gut.
: ̗̀➛ "I got a bottle of your favorite drink, but it seems you are upset. Allow me to listen to what's wrong and i'll get you a glass."
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Heizou's intuition immediately told him something was up the second you felt your motivation go down the drain. His intuition said to go check on you. Though he may have been in the middle of investigating a case, he left it all to see you.
: ̗̀➛ He had no idea what he would walk in on, but he did notice how you'd been a bit under the weather lately and he starting assuming the worst.
: ̗̀➛ Heizou burst through your door and ran up to your room, just to find you in the fetal position on your bed, crying.
: ̗̀➛ When he saw you, his body physically jolted. He was glad you were alive, but he didn't know what to do. His adrenaline was through the roof.
: ̗̀➛ He rushed by your side and hugged you and allowed you to cry on his shoulder, not caring if it got his shirt wet. All he cared about in that moment was you and nothing else. He would never admit it, but he shed a tear or two in that moment. Seeing somebody so vulnerable made him so upset, especially since it was you.
: ̗̀➛ "Please. Allow me to help. I can't have you go through this. I can't even begin to imagine how painful it's been and i'm sorry I haven't been there for you as much as I could've. I'm so sorry." He basically muttered that into your ear and he started crying with you.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Kokomi had a really long day that she never really signed up for. She had so much to do that she was free to go to her own home past 10 PM, but she went to see you first to say goodnight, but also to check on you. She usually sees you during her day, but she didnt, which she thought was odd.
: ̗̀➛ When she saw your expression, she knew exactly what you were thinking. She invited herself into your room and sat down gently on your bed.
: ̗̀➛ She offered to do anything and offered for you to talk to her about what you had been going through and overthinking.
: ̗̀➛ After letting you speak what was on your mind, she offered to you to write down your thoughts, just like how she does. She said how it makes her feel calmer and get out her emotions and that you should try it sometime.
: ̗̀➛ "Even if I'm busy at work, please come see me sometime. I'd love to see you anytime."
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Yae pretty much knew all along what you were feeling and thinking, she was just waiting for you to speak up to her and say what was on your mind.
: ̗̀➛ When she realized you'd never do that, she caved and went to your home, knowing exactly where in your house you'd be.
: ̗̀➛ She picked up some light novels for you to read and some tea to drink that'd give you some energy and hopefully snap you out of your current state.
: ̗̀➛ "Ah, my beautiful mortal friend. Human lives are too short to be thinking about this kind of stuff. You should be out there exploring the world and making memories along the way. There's so much stuff I can think of that you'd love. If you never leave home, you may never find that out. Cmon, when you're done with the tea, follow me to Narukami Shrine. I promise a short visit will be worthwhile."
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
: ̗̀➛ Ei never really understood why humans felt such a way, but when she realized that's how you felt, she read dozens of books on the topic to find out what she should do.
: ̗̀➛ Once she was well read on the topic, she went to go visit your home. She couldn't admit it but she was incredibly nervous. She brought some sweets with her that she got from some local food stands in Inazuma to give to you.
: ̗̀➛ When she arrived, she got incredibly upset seeing how bad it had gotten. She gave you the desserts and sat down beside you, not saying a word. She wanted you to speak whenever you were ready for her to know.
: ̗̀➛ She gently rubbed your back the entire time and didn't leave until around midnight. She came to see you for multiple hours a day just to make sure you're getting better. Each time, she'd bring something new for you to try and she'd try to convince you to come out into the world so she can try all of it with you.
: ̗̀➛ "Take your time, but I would love to take you to a restaurant and order all your favorites. You need to be reminded how much life is worth, especially for a mortal human like you. You barely live 100 years so you need to get outside and do all the things you enjoy. I believe in you."

She begged on her knees to her boss to give her two weeks off from work just to spend time with you..and of course, to plan your funeral.
The doctors said you had about a week left so that broke Keqing's heart even more, though the doctors did let you go out for the remaining time.
You both had fun like you used to before you were diagnosed. It felt like the normal days when you were completely healthy.
Though, fun times must have an end right? So you were now unable to walk on your last day so you both just talked for hours in the hospital, you were tired then fell asleep.
You gave up fighting your illness while sleeping in the middle of the night. Keqing couldn't sleep for the whole night but seeing you not breathe anymore broke her heart in many pieces.
"I won't forget you until the day I meet you in heaven, I love you Y/N."
Tumblr media
Kamisato Ayaka
As the eldest daughter of the Kamisato clan, she of course has a very busy schedule everyday, though her kind brother knows just how much she cares and loves you so he took care of the majority of her work.
The less work she has, the more time she could spend time with you at the hospital.
She would bring fruits and flowers most of the time and sometimes your favourite treats too!
After a few weeks of this routine of visiting you, you were suddenly told that your illness was non longer curable and that you only had a week left.
Ayaka was in denial, she broke down saying "There must be a way, please please just cure them, there must be a way.. I'd do anything! I don't care what the cost is, I just want Y/N healthy."
After the doctor said you can be discharged to spend time with your loved ones right before a week ends, she brought you home.
You had tea time with Ayaka, chatted for hours, went on strolls around Inazuma, hung out with Thoma and her brother Ayato, she even requested for some fireworks from Yoimiya just for you, you both also cuddled for hours on end either reading books together or talking and laughing.
It of course had to come to and end. You were brought to the hospital not even being able to do anything.
You just slept on your bed until you passed in your sleep.
Ayaka was of course in deep denial, but luckily her brother and Thoma stayed the night at the hospital too to comfort her.
"Y/N..I'll never move on from you, you'll be on my mind every second, just wait for me in heaven, love."
Tumblr media
Raiden Ei
Her role as the leader of Inazuma is very crucial, though she leaves all the work to the general, Kujou Sara and the maiden, Yae Miko.
She has devoted all her time and care for you ever since you were diagnosed.
The hospital was practically just her first home and her actual home was her 2nd.
She'd always follow your requests, from buying your favourite flowers to buying your favourite figurines and even more.
When the doctor said you only had 1 more week left as your illness was far worst to cure, it hit her.
"Dr, there must be a way. I payed a lot and you can't cure them? You must be lying. YOU CAN AND YOU MUST HEAL THEM."
She had to be stopped by the guards before she went even more furious.
She calmed down and started accepting it and you were said that you could go out right until before a week ends.
You were brought to her home. You spent time in Inazuma strolling around, eating all the food you loved, spending time with everybody, and of course Ei too.
You both cuddled for hours, almost without an end. She knew without you, the world meant nothing to her so she spent all the time with you, to the point where she just didn't sleep those few days, just admiring you.
One night, you were rushed to the E.R. Your pulse was gone while you were sleeping, it was not in fact a week too.
Ei just couldn't even think straight anymore. Right after your death, she shut herself in the plane of euthymia again.
"Why was it you that had to go too."
Tumblr media
Jean Gunnhildr
The KOF was very kind enough for taking care of each and every one of Jean's work ever since they were told that you were diagnosed with an illness.
She spent all the time she had with you, bringing in your favourite books from the library, your favourite food, and flowers too.
She was sad enough that you were told to stay in a hospital until you get better, but the news of your illness not being curable and you only had a week left, just left her mind blank.
She didn't know what to do without the love of her life, you.
Until a week ends, you were told that you could stay out of the hospital to spend time with loved ones.
You got to have tea with Jean and Lisa at the library while reading books, hanging out at the tavern with Jean, Rosaria, Diluc and Kaeya and you even got to go flower picking with Jean!
Soon you were brought back to the hospital, passing away in your sleep.
Jean took a month to accept your death and go back to work, getting comforted from time to time by her co-workers.
"You'll be remembered by everybody here and me too. You've impacted a lot on many people Y/N. I'll love you until the day I die."

Ganyu was awaiting your arrival. As she sat on the picnic mat. She scanned her surroundings, which was filled with all the food she had recently cooked and brought out. In her hand was a qingxin, as she fiddled with the freshly picked flower in her hand.
Ganyu had been sitting in her office more often than usual. Every time you would want to visit her, she wouldn't allow you in. The Yuheng had noticed Ganyu's unusual behavior and decided to ask her about it.
Keqing came into Ganyu's office holding files. Seeing her co-worker resting her head on the table. She knocked on the desk lightly. "Ganyu, I have noticed you are working more than usual and ignoring (y/n). Did something happen to you both?" Keqing asked as she placed the files on Ganyu's table.
Ganyu's desk was not looking well too. From being super organised to really messy. There were sheets of paper scattered around and the finished work was stacked onto each other in a messy pile.
The soft knocking of Ganyu's desk awoken her. She blinked groggily before rubbing her eyes. "H-huh? No.. Nothing happened between us.." Ganyu looked at keqing with a daze look. Before turning her attention to the files Keqing had brought in.
As Ganyu was about to take a file, keqing's hand slammed onto the file preventing her to take it. Her slam was loud enough to startle ganyu from her daze state. Her attention was now back at Keqing again.
"Why did yo-" "Ganyu! Why are you ignoring (y/n)? Weren't you guys best friends?" Upon hearing that she quickly replied "W-what?! Of course not! I just uhm.." Ganyu then heard Keqing sighed. "You like (y/n) don't you? Why not just confess?"
Ganyu's face turned red. 'Was it that obvious?' Ganyu questioned herself. Keqing then saw her reaction, confirming her theory about Ganyu liking (y/n).
Keqing then took a chair that was at the corner of Ganyu's office. She dusted off the dust on the chair and proceeded to sit down. She then suggested ideas to Ganyu. While Ganyu told her what (y/n) likes so that Keqing could suggested ideas to Ganyu to help her find a suitable idea and way to confess her love.
Ganyu who was staring at the qingxin in her hand. Shifted her gaze to the sky. The sky was a pretty color of red and oranges.
'Please, please love me.' She then heard faint footsteps coming from behind her. Ganyu then turned around to see you.
[Angst Ending] - Optional to read.
You slowly strolled to her. Seeing the picnic mat with various favourite food she had whip up for you. You then saw Ganyu smiled at you, patting the mat beside her with a pink face. You then took a sit beside Ganyu. Not knowing what to say as it had been such a long time since you had seen her.
"Ganyu I-"
"Y/n I-"
As you both opened your mouth at the same time to speak. "You can go first." You said looking at the scenery around you. You could feel her looking at you, so you now turned to look at her. You heard Ganyu sigh before speaking.
"Y-y/n.. I.. I like you" she said as she lifted up the qingxin flower up to you. Only to receive no corresponding action to take the flower. She then looked up at your face.
"You looked really beautiful today Ganyu." When Ganyu heard a compliment for you she turned red even more and gave out a loud sigh for holding her breath, waiting for your response. Only to be crushed by what you had said next.
"Sadly.. This relationship of us won't be beautiful in that way.." As you got up and walked away. Ganyu who was still sitting down, started to shake. The flower in her hand, was now drenched in rain.
[Fluff Ending] - Optional to read
Happy to receive an invitation from ganyu to finally hang out after months of her inside her office and not coming out to see you.
Ganyu saw you trudging in, as you were covered in sweat from running to meet up with her earlier. Only to be surprised that Ganyu was earlier than you. You then jumped onto Ganyu and tightly hugged her from behind.
"Ganyu!! It's so good to see you again!" You proceeded to hug her tighter. Only to release her from the hug after you were satisfied with the duration of the hug.
Ganyu then pat onto the mat to give you a signal to sit beside her. Now that you were on the mat too, you inspected your surroundings, seeing a lot of food being prepared for both you and Ganyu. You were so overjoyed with what Ganyu has done for you that you didn't notice how red Ganyu's face was.
Ganyu then cleared her throat to bring your attention back to her. As you turned to look at her, you saw her hand bring up a flower to your face. You happily took it in your hand and admire it. "I-it's for you.." You then raise a brow at her, trying to figure out why she gave you a flower.
She then sweatdropped when you didn't get the hint on what she was implying. "I l-like you y/n.." She quickly stated. Now you were the one who was blushing when she said that. "I like you too Ganyu!" You smiled at her, only for Ganyu to heaved a sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
Keqing was sitting at Liuli Pavilion. In front of her was an empty seat, indicating that she was waiting for someone.
Keqing kept looking at the clock as she was eager to meet your arrival. She had planned everything out to ensure that this confession of her's would be perfect. She had even rehearsed lines, so that she could said it without stuttering.
"Y/n, I like you- wait no that's too straightforward.." Keqing who was now in front of the mirror. As she took out her notebook to cross out that line and wrote 'too straightforward' beside it. Only 33 more lines to go.
As she then looked at the next line. 'My love for you is blazing hot, when we get together we will be ignited-' Keqing then started to blushed a lot. Who puts these in the 'Top 50 confessions' book?!
As she then faced the mirror before sighing. 'Y/n.. Look at what you did to me..' As she then crossed out that sentence too. 'Too dramatic.' She then laid down on her bed and shut her eyes for a while.
'Think the only thing that will be burning would be my cheeks if I ever said that line to y/n..' She then proceeded to get up again to try out the other lines.
'Nope... Huh? That's the last line?!' As keqing now stared at the book in horror as she had crossed out every line. Either too embarrassed to say it, or it was just flat out bad.
'And they said top 50 confessions..' As she heavily sighed. She needs to make her own line now since none of those fitted her description.
She then turned to the mirror saying her own made up line. Once she rehearsed to her hearts content and happy that she stopped blushing and stuttering while saying it.
Her attention was then brought back to the voice of somebody. She then turned to see a familiar person, talking to someone and getting led to her table.
"Please love me too.." As she mummbled to herself softly, not allowing the other party to hear what she said. As the seat in front of her was now occupied.
[Angst Ending] - Optional to read
"Hey Keqing! Nice to meet you again!" As you waved at her. Keqing then nodded, as she proceeded to hand you a menu so you guys could start ordering.
On the table there were golden shrimp balls along universal pdace that was ordered by Keqing and {favourite food and side dish} that was ordered by you.
After you guys had finished eating, keqing invited you for a stroll near the docks of Liyue Harbour. You decided to go with her as there was nothing urgent for you to do.
The stroll was quite enjoyable as you saw many fishes and fishermen around. Along with merchants trying to sell up their goods. Now you and Keqing stopped near a balcony that had the view of the open sea.
You guys were enjoying the scene in peace until Keqing spoke up. "Hey.. Y/n can I tell you something?" You then stopped looking at the view and looked at Keqing now. Who avoided eye contact with you.
"Yeah! What's up Keqing?" You replied. You then saw Keqing turned to face you, the two wrists on the railing turned into one.
"Y/n.. Whenever you are with me I feel like the world stops just for me and you. So please, would you like to be with me too?" Keqing then tilt her head downwards. 'I couldn't even say the line I rehearsed.. And even worse I'm blushing..' She thought.
Only to receive no respond from y/n, she then looked up to see you frowning. As she widened her eyes, you.. Didn't felt the same way.
"I.. Understand, sorry to waste your time, forget I said anything." As keqing then looked at the scenery, only this time.. It was awkward.
[Fluff Ending] - Optional to read.
You happily chatted with Keqing. While awaiting for the food to arrive.
You guys sat in silence, absorbing one another's comfort. You then saw the waitress arrived with the dishes that you both had ordered. You then thank her and gave her the bill. Only to be stopped by Keqing.
"H-hey! Y/n I thought we agreed that I'll pay?!" You then laughed and signalled her to faster move before the argument would really escalated fast. As you turn back to face Keqing, she was mad at you. "Don't be so somber. Here I have a gift for you." You then took out a box and handed it to Keqing.
The box was white in color, decorated in gold flakes and golden designs. Keqing proceeded to look at you. You nodded to assure her it was fine opening it now. Now the box unlidded, revealing a necklace that fitted her.
She looked up to you, about to say thank you only for you to interrupt her. "'My love for you is blazing hot, when we get together we will be ignited" As you smiled.
Keqing then blushed hard, only to regain her composure. "I like you too y/n." She said hastily. Only to realised you used the 'Top 50 confessions' book too.

Yoimiya was bringing a lot of boxes into her home. Most of the materials were for fireworks making. The amount of materials she brought in was enough to make a few dozens of firework.
Yoimiya then quickly began to make the firework as fast as she could, as they were for a very important person. Her movements were swift and delicated to ensure no damage on the newly arrived materials.
Although yoimiya was great at making fireworks. It certainly wasn't easy working fast and precise together. She wanted the firework to be the best and biggest and most memorable firework she ever lit up into the sky.
She then wiped her sweat trickling down her forehead as she had finally finished setting them up in order.
She quickly essembled them together and placed them into a big brown box. She then went to the seashore. Taking the batch of huge fireworks inside the box with her.
She arrived to the destination rather quick as her house, naganohara fireworks, was near a beach. Where she invited y/n to watch the recently made fireworks with her.
As she was looking at the sea, she got a surprised hug by someone. She then laughed, "Y/n! You finally came!" You then lightly hit her shoulder. "It has only been 5 minutes!" Which caused her to burst into laughter for a good 5 seconds before getting serious.
She then turned to the box of fireworks and began bringing them out and setting them up leaving you confused. She looked at you for a split second before continuing setting up.
"Don't worry you'll see later!" She then gave you a thumbs up and proceeded back to setting up the firework. You counted there was 3 of them although they looked bigger than usual. As you got a light pat on your shoulder.
"It's ready y/n!" Yoimiya exclaimed. Although she was calm on the outside, she was manifesting inside.
'Please love me y/n!' As the fireworks setted off.
[Angst Ending] - Optional to read
Your eyes lit up awaiting of what type of lighting would be in the sky. The fireworks then exploded into bits.
"I LIKE YOU Y/N! PLEASE BE MINE?" Was what you read. Yoimiya then lightly blushed and looked at you awaiting your response. Only to be disappointed afterwards.
"I'm sorry Yoimiya.. Apparently my love didn't explode for you.. But for someone else.." As you quickly left the scene and a heartbroken Yoimiya behind.

Kokomi was in her private area. Where only traveller, gorou and you knows where the location is. Her neat and tidy room turned into a messy one. With all scattered crushed papers surrounded her.
Kokomi then sighed and opened her diary. There were many things inside to keep her energy going, she then picked up her pen to write '-2 energy, writing a confession is hard' she then shut the book and tried to continue writing.
She then heard a knock outside, though the person who arrived was not the person she wanted to see. '-1 energy' she thought as the brown hair with white tips fox ear male came closer to her.
"Your Excellency! Here are the documents- Oh archons! What happened here?!" Gorou then looked around the room to see paper everywhere. Kokomi then looked up and gave him a small wave.
Gorou then proceeded to help pick up the crushed papers on the ground and placed it into the trash bin.
"Your Excellency, is there something bothering you? You're normally not this messy and tired." Gorou questioned.
Kokomi was uncertain whether to tell gorou about her so called crush. She then shook her head which made gorou gave her the puppy eyes to tell him what's going on.
In the end, gorou manage to get Intel from kokomi's love life. Gorou then proceeded to help her out by writing some words that kokomi described you as, and how she feels.
After that was done. She folded her noted and told gorou to pass it to you. Gorou then bowed and left the room. Leaving the nervous kokomi by herself.
"Y/n.. Please.. I hope you love me back.." As kokomi now fidgetting her fingers.
[Fluff Ending] - Optional to read
Kokomi was reading her favourite novel while awaiting for gorou's message. Only to not need to wait anymore as gorou came into her private room wagging his tail and his ears held high.
"Your Excellency! Y/n feels the same way too!" He yelled the news to her. Only to leave the room afterwards. Kokomi was then shocked. To see you standing outside with a blushing face.
Kokomi then turned red. Now you guys stared at each other for quite some time. Until kokomi invited you to read her favourite novel with her.
'+99 energy, y/n feels the same way!'

If it's possible and wouldn't make you uncomfortable, I'd like to make an Angst Request! Raiden Ei, Ayaka, Yelan, Keqing and Jean break up with their S/O due to some circumstances that you can choose or just leave it a mystery. After a couple of month they learn that their S/O become quite skilled fighter because they've been throwing off themselves into dangerous fights and somehow get things done. Also they doesn't care if they get gravely wounded. When our girls find their S/O to get them back they see that their S/O is already injured heavily. They find a shelter themselves and our girls tries to patch them up as they make things better! It may have a bad or good ending up to your choice. I'm sorry if this request is too detailed, this cliché request has been on my mind for a while now and I wanted to send this to you. (Also if you don't mind, I can be your angst anon with an 🔥emoji)
oo, no worries! thank you for the compliment and i hope you enjoy! (also yes you can be my angst 🔥 anon!)

Ayaka, Jean, Keqing, Ei, Yelan x gender neutral!reader
ex s/o who now gets into fights a lot/injured a lot angst, hurt with comfort (Ayaka, Jean, Yelan)(?), hurt no comfort (Ei, Keqing), mentions of injuries/blood/etc, reader uses a sword, mild language (Jean, Yelan), reader having a vision mentioned (Ei), reader is a pyro vision user (Yelan)
Tumblr media
The both of you were going through a rough patch in your relationship. She was busy with work and isn't able to spend as much time with you. It hurts when she mentions breaking up. You know its necessary since you both are becoming distant but, it doesn't hurt any less. All you can leave her with is a simple.
" I'm sorry. Please take care. "
Tumblr media
Sharpening your sword skills was difficult enough. Finding opponents that didn't go easy on you was harder. What was easy though was finding the Nobushi in Inazuma.
Ever since you and Ayaka had parted your separate ways and continued to live your lives without each other, you had been practicing your sword skills as an adventurer. Your most recent battle with the Nobushi wounded you severely.
As you limped along the beach, the scarlet red liquid dripping down from your abdomen onto the sand below you as you walked. Konda Village was in coming into your blurry sight, the blood loss making you dizzy.
As you slowly made your way onto the grass, your blurry vision caught that white hair you missed seeing oh so much. Giving the girl a weak smile as she ran up to you was the last thing you could remember doing before your vision went black.
-~-
You faded in and out of consciousness, you don't know how long you were actually out but before you knew it, you were comfortably laid in a bed, someone hunched over you. Your ears were ringing painfully, leaving you unable to hear the words that were being said around you.
" They'll be alright, right? "
" Hopefully. Here's the... "
You weren't in the right mindset to identify the voices or even hear them at that point. Everything was so painful as you tried to lift your arm. Pain shooting through your body as you freeze. When had an injury had been this painful? Your mind was foggy as you laid there but soon lessened when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
" (name), I'm going to need you to take this medicine.. " The sweet voice that you couldn't remember when you heard last. " You were terribly injured, you know.. "
" Wai- " Your voice was hoarse as you tried to lift yourself up, blinking your eyes and searching for some sort of hydration. Ayaka gently lifted the water cup up to you for you to drink from. The cool water tasted so good in that moment. " Wait- I need to.. " Your voice trailed off again. What did you need to do? Was it just an excuse?
" What you need is to rest, (name)! If a villager from Konda hadn't alerted Thoma and I, who knows what would have happened to you! " Ayaka worriedly said, kneeling beside you. " I'm sorry if this is.. because of what happened a while back.. but please rest, (name).. "
You sighed and reached for the medicine she had beside her. Perhaps you could listen to her a little more, even if it is for just a few days. Or weeks. You knew you couldn't burden her with such a trivial thing for any longer than you have already.
Tumblr media
You could never leave the Knights of Favonious even after what happened between you and the Acting Grandmaster. Both of you being so busy with work wasn't good for your relationship and you both ended up well, cutting it off.
Jean always had tried to make it as not awkward as possible between the both of you when you both did have to interact but it was always slightly tense on your part if if was just you two.
The Abyss Order was getting tougher and tougher, always calling in reinforcements. It was lucky for anyone to get out of a fight with them with only some cuts and burns.
Today was particularly bad for you. A new abyss mage had shown up. You had never seen one before and now you were thinking that you never wanted to see one again.
The burns it left made it feel like your skin was on fire, it hurt like hell honestly. The walk back to the city felt more like a hike to you. You were exhausted but at this point, you didn't really care. The city was more important.
Seeing the large tree on Windrise was a big relief. The city was near but a break seemed pretty nice at that moment. Your sword had long been repurposed as a makeshift cane to help you walk better.
The smooth bark of the massive tree's trunk that led up to the branches above that shaded you from the sun above was inviting you to sit under the canopy. As you slide down to sitting on the soft grass, you turned to check the burned skin.
" (name)! What are you doing here?! " The voice was filled with concern as footsteps got closer. " Amber had told me you weren't back yet so I was worried.. "
You turned your head towards the blonde approaching you. " Heh, yeah. They got me good.. At least the city is safe, right? "
" I guess so.. but (name), you can't do these dangerous things by yourself all the time! Let me get you back to see a healer. " You shrugged, not caring about the injuries now as she helped you up.
" I can walk, Jean. I'll be fine. You don't have to worry about me anymore, I can fight. " You walked along as normally as you could beside her, not wanting to stress her out more.
" ...You're right. Sorry, (name). You can tell me what happened when we get back. "
Tumblr media
Work. That's all you had known ever since you joined the Liyue Qixing. It wasn't the place for you. Overworking yourself everyday to get everything done. Your ex-girlfriend had it down better than you did. You could say that it was a reason for you both to break up.
Keqing was always a workaholic for as long as you could remember. Thats what drove you apart. She couldn't take a break. You had started helping out the Adventurers Guild more, seeing as you could choose when and what work you do.
Taking on that Lawachurl was a mistake. It had apparently been causing trouble and needed a skilled fighter to take care of it so of course, you took the job.
You didn't heed the warning you were given as you took the commission, already waving as you left to head towards the location. The terrain was rockier than usual but you had already seen the Lawachurl ahead and started to make your way over to it.
It seemed to be irritated, throwing the Geo slimes every which way as you approached. Getting your vision ready, you approached it, sword drawn to attack. Your vision suddenly went black as the Lawachurl turned to you, letting you wake up only a few moments later from a voice.
" No escape! "
Your head was aching and you had scratches from what you were assuming the rocks around you. " ...Keqing? " You called out to the purple figure, vision blurry from the impact on your head.
" You're part of the Liyue Qixing, (name). Get up and uphold the name. " She spoke harshly towards you, helping you up by offering you her hand.
" Got it.. " You sighed as she walked away.
" Don't let it happen again. " Your head was pounding and it almost made you want to call out for her to help you but you knew she wouldn't. You slowly but surely, made your way back to the Harbor, being sure to avoid Qiqi and Baizhu since you didn't think you should bother them with such simple injuries that you had let yourself get.
Tumblr media
The Tenryou Commission was a busy place. Being apart of it was even busier. The battles with the Resistance always were terrible. The injuries and consequences were terrible.
The rare times the Shogun came to visit was always stressful. Even if it wasn't Ei, you still felt your heart ache for the purple haired woman. You had missed her so much yet, no matter how much you yearned to be with her again, you couldn't.
The Nazuchi Beach battle against the Resistance didn't go particularly well for the Tenryou Commission. It was painful knowing that it was so difficult to win against those soldiers. Kujou Sara never let up on the training before the battle either. You body had ached even when waiting for the order to charge.
You weren't prepared to win this. You knew that. You knew that even as you lied on the ground after the defeat, the less wounded soldiers retreating to get a healer or help for the more wounded. It hurt.
As you slowly lifted yourself up, your vision at your hip glowed faintly. You rubbed your eyes, careful not to get any sand in them to irritate them more than they already were. The familiar shoes that walked towards you made you look up at her.
" This is the outcome? " She surveyed the battlegrounds before looking back to you.
" Y-Yes. " You lowered your head.
" I see... (name), leave the Tenryou Commission. You're not well suited for this. " She spoke calmly, her eyes staring at you before she walked off, soon disappearing before you could see where she went.
Although, you had no clue if it was the Shogun or Ei appearing before you and speaking to you, the words stung and left a terrible feeling in you.
Tumblr media
You watched the Fatui from behind the crates. You knew you shouldn't have followed them but after telling your friend to get backup to help, you had to follow the Fatui into the Domain.
Secretly you had hoped they would go to the Liyue Qixing or even the Adventurers Guild, in hope of not seeing Yelan again but alas, you had to take what you could get.
Spotting pyro slimes in the explosive barrels around the room gave you an idea. Although risky, you didn't care. You focused your pyro vision into making a spark on the closest barrel to you. If you were lucky you could make it out with just some burns and scrapes but you knew it wouldn't play out like that.
" Just a.. little more- " You whispered out to yourself, seeing the fire from the pyro slime spark at the wood around the barrel. You plugged one ear with your finger, scared of the explosive boom that would soon ring throughout the room.
Soon, the barrel exploded in a display of orange and yellow flames, hitting the others around the room causing the stone walls to rattle around you before the explosions had hit you. " Shit! " You cursed as you stood against the wall, in attempt to get away from the explosion.
-~-
As fast as you had felt the heat on your face was as fast as you felt the cool breeze hit.
" Glad you're alright. Big explosion you created, (name). " Your vision cleared to see the hydro woman, that you were hoping you didn't have to see today, in front of you with her hand on her hip.
" Whatever.. It got the job done, didn't it? " You looked around, spotting the Fatui already being dealt with by the Millelith.
" It did, but that doesn't excuse you from the explosion you created. You can't go around doing stuff like that. " She scolded, although it felt more like she was just telling you it. " Let's get back to Liyue, yeah? Baizhu can fix up your burns when we get back. "
" ...Yeah. Thanks, I guess, though these burns aren't a big deal. " She just shook her head at you and started walking away, assuming you would follow close behind. " Stupid Yelan.. "

I love you. But I don't.
Tumblr media
Summary:
A hero falling inlove with a villian? Sounds like bullshit. No it's not. It happened to you. But it only broke your heart more..
Tumblr media
You were a part of the Qixing, Which meant you had to work full time not catching a break. Luckily your friend Keqing was there to accompany you on your journey.
Unfortunately you came across the 6th Fatui Harbinger otherwise known as Scaramouche. But you didn't really expect to fall inlove with someone like him.
His business in Liyue? Only to look after this so called harbinger Childe. So troublesome, That's why her Majesty Tsaritsa asked him to keep an eye on him. Never ever did he think he'll "fall inlove" with you.
Otherwise you ran away. You were not strong enough to actually defeat him. As you run back to Liyue you ran into Keqing. "What's wrong? Why are you in a hurry?" She said "I saw the 6th fatui harbinger lurking near Liyue! Inform Lady Ningguang and the other Qixing." you said in a worried tone. "Oh my.. I'll inform them immediately. I'll tell the Milileth to keep an eye" you smiled and nodded as you ran behind her.
Tumblr media
Scaramouche's POV.
"That girl. I know she's a part the Qixing based on what their wearing.. Shit. We've been caught. I know she'll be informing the Milileth, even worse Ningguang." he said in his mind thinking what he should do. "We've been caught by the Qixing higher your ground and don't get caught." He said to the Fatui. "Yes my Lord" they said as they ran off.
Tumblr media
Something was off about you.. You tried to sleep but you couldn't. You just could not stop thinking about him. The way he looked at you just gave you... butterflies? No that can't be possible he's a Fatui Harbinger. It's wrong to fall inlove with him. 'Stop Stop Stop go to sleep." running through your mind. Eventually you fell asleep.
Tumblr media
The next day, you tried to work and keep him out your mind but you just couldn't. Why? Why are you feeling like this. This isn't right. saying in your mind. "Helloooo? Earth to Y/N!!!" You snap out of your trance "Oh uhm yes?" you said. "Did you even hear what I said?" Keqing said "uhmmmm no..?" you said with an awkward smile. "What's on your mind? You're not yourself today" Keqing said worried. "Oh it's nothing! I'm just worried about the 6th Harbinger. That's all" you said with a smile still feeling wrong. "Well okay.. Come talk to me whenever you need" Keqing smiled tapping your shoulder twice as she went back to work. You smiled at her too.
You felt bad. This was wrong it was starting to hurt you inside. Feeling like you betrayed yourself and the Qixing. You tried to brush it off and continued to work. Hours passed as you ran into Ganyu. "Oh hey Ganyu, How's work?" You said with a smile. "Oh hey Y/N! Oh work is fine but can you do me a favor? Can you grab some Qingxin flowers I need them for a gift!" She said smiling "Sure Ganyu! I'll be back in a few hours"
Tumblr media
You reached Qingyun Peak. As you picked some flowers lo and behold it's him, your heart dropped as you stood up dropping the fresh Qingxin flowers. "W-What do you want!" Holding your weapon, knowing that you won't be able to actually defeat him. "Gee calm down. I'm not here to do anything." he said looking unbothered but it still felt wrong. You unweilded your weapon choosing to trust him which is a big risk knowing how strong he is. You sighed picking up the Qingxin flowers again. "Anyways what are you even doing here?" You said uneasy "What am I not allowed to be here?" He said annoyed. "Well I mean yes but no..! I mean you are a Fatui Harbinger.." You said looking to your side. "Tch. Whatever" he said even more annoyed. Oh no there it is again. Blushing and butterflies in your stomach. You covered your face looking to your back. No no you're not supposed to feel like this. your inner self saying but you just couldn't help your feelings. "He notices that. What are you doing? Are you laughing at me!?" He said angry walking towards you. Oh no you were blushing even more you can't even help it. He uncovers you face seeing your red tomato face. He blushes a little. "Uhmm I'm sorry.. I can't control it I don't know what's happening." He grabbed your hand walking towards the wall. "Hey what are you doing! Let go of me!" He pinned you against the wall. Now you were blushing even more. "Uhmm what..?" you looked at the ground, you were so flustered even your ears are blushing. "Listen I have no intentions with you so why are you even blushing? Do you think I would actually fall for your ugly ass? In your dreams silly girl." He said smirking. That actually broke your heart. But why? It was wrong anyway. "Listen I'm sorry I-" you felt something in your lips. He kissed you, You looked at him shocked. But your body did something you would never thought of. You kissed him back as you closed your eyes. It felt so passionate, your heart was beating so fast it felt like it was going to jump out. He broke the kiss. You felt like you were gonna cry but from happiness. "I-I'm sorry I don't know why I did that." Scaramouche apologizing? You wouldn't believe that until you saw it with your own eyes. "Uhmm you don't need to feel sorry I-" he only ran away leaving you behind. Now you were alone again. You sighed picking up the Qingxin flowers.
Tumblr media
"Hey Ganyu I'm back! Here's your Qingxin flowers!" You smiled. "Oh thank you Y/N! I appreciate you helping me" she said smiling. "It's getting dark we should head home." Ganyu said. "Okay be safe!" You said smiled heading back to your home.
Tumblr media
There it is you can't sleep again. You can't stop thinking about the thing that happened in Qingyun Peak. The kiss scene kept replaying in your mind keeping you from sleeping. It was messing with your head. You wanted to become his lover, but it's "wrong" but it is actually wrong? Things running through your mind driving you crazy. Eventually you fell asleep from the tiredness of overthinking.
N҈I҈G҈H҈T҈M҈A҈R҈E҈.
You woke up looking at the time, Oh it was only 9am. You get ready and went out and you saw Keqing. You decided to say hello "hey Keqing how are you?" You smiled. "You. I know what you did." She said angrily. "Huh? What do you mean?" You said looking shocked. "Oh don't act all innocent I know you kissed the 6th Fatui Harbinger. You betrayed us. I can't believe I trusted you. You are fired. Get out of my sight." she said even more angrier. "But I have an explanation you see-" you said almost crying. "NO. I said get out of my sight! Never ever show yourself to me ever again!" She said so angry. You could only cry and run away.
E҈N҈D҈ O҈F҈ N҈I҈G҈H҈T҈M҈A҈R҈E҈
You woke up terrified. Out of breath. You looked at the time 9am.. The same time as your nightmare. This is bad, but you dressed up and went out and tried not to go to Keqing but the universe was pulling you into your nightmare. Everywhere you turn all you see is Keqing. Keqing. Keqing. You're heart beating fast like a ticking time bomb ready to explode and kill everyone your way.
You tried to get away but Keqing approached you. You felt Deja Vu coming your way. "You thought you could get away from me? I know what you did. I know you kissed him. I can't believe you would betray us like that! I thought we were friends!" But instead of her being angry she's actually crying. "W-Why are you crying? It's all my fault okay? Please don't cry I'm really sorry please forgive me!" You tried to hug her but she pushed you. "Don't touch me! I can't even look at you right now or EVER!" She said crying even more. "Why would you do this to us? You're fired please just go away!" you looked at her shocked but you understand why she was feeling like that. "Okay.. I understand goodbye."
You ran out of Liyue Harbor and ran into the forest crying not caring if you ran into monsters. But you were the monster. You knew it was wrong but you did it anyway. Unfortunately you ran into a hillichurl camp you were too tired to fight so you decided this would be your faith, the reason why you are living in the first place. But someone saved you at the last minute. But it was the last person you would even think. Him. He killed all of them in a whole second. "What are you doing? Are you trying to kill yourself?" you could only cry and you ran to hug him. Why? You don't know. He didn't stop you he only patted your head comforting you saying it's alright and let it out. You finally calmed down, you had to say it. Say it now. "Listen, I have something to tell you." he looked to confused but curious. "Yes what is it?" looking at you. "I- I like you! No, I love you! Ever since we met I can't stop thinking about you. You were on my mind 24/7 I couldn't even sleep without you on my mind! I love you okay? I love you!" you could only say closing your eyes blushing. He only looked at you shocked from what you said. "Well I don't." He looked at you with no emotion it almost looked eerie. You could only look at him shocked. Almost going to cry again. "Then why would you kiss me the other day!? What was it for fun?! " you screamed at him furiously. "Heh. You actually think I loved you after one measly kiss? Tch. You're embarrassing yourself. It almost makes me feel bad for you. Heh Almost." You could only look at him furious with tears threatening to come out. You only walked past him. How could you embarrass yourself over someone who doesn't love you? I'm so stupid. I wish I never met you. That word echoing through your mind. You could only cry behind a tree. You ruined your life over someone who would never love you.
Scramouche's POV:
He looked to the ground putting his hands on his pocket. "I actually did love you. But I can't. Tsarita's orders." he whispered as he smiled tears threatening to come out. Turns out he wasn't there to look after Childe. He was there to defeat you. Why? We can only ask the Tsarita. Her Majesty's second rule was to not fall inlove with you.

Parenting Headcannons with Keqing and Eula? :D
Parent Headcanons - Eula Lawrence and Keqing
A/N: Hi Anon! I'm sorry you had to wait. This one... well, it turned out quite a bit more serious than I expected. Especially with Keqing - it turned into (basically) angst. I'm sorry if you don't like it. I would be really grateful if you shared your opinion in the comments.
Male reader.
Tumblr media
Eula Lawrence
Eula’s parents were… not great, to say the least. They kept pushing her towards being a traditional figure, dictated by the Lawrence clan’s long legacy. That involved plenty of indoctrination, gaslighting and putting down her own needs and dreams.
She realized this was not normal in her late teens, and she made her escape to the Knights. Even though most citizens of Mondstadt grew to dislike her, Eula found a few close friends to help her through her darkest years. You were one of them.
The desire to be better than one’s parents is natural and ever present, as role models are quite rare in reality. This need was especially strong in her. It was the image of having kids that kept her from leaving this world behind, and when you met all those years ago, the images reappeared in her happiest moments.
Eula made plans long before you met, imagining what rules she would put in place, what values she should instill, she read books about motherhood and parenting. Yet she never told you, until one warm night.
She grabbed your hand, and told you about her dream while looking into your eyes. She said how she wants to be the mother her mother never was, and you to be the father hers never managed to be. She told you about her dream of building a home together, a safe place for both you and your children.
And how could you refuse her?
Eula will want to wait for marriage before anything else.
When she speaks that one, simple word, Eula will just burst into tears. Just like that, the weight and past sins of her last name will be finally left behind, and she could fully become a new, better person.
A few days will pass until she’s ready. Eula just wants to wait until everything calms down, really. And it will be a surprise too. You’ll just wake up one lazy morning, cuddled together, and she will whisper a simple ‘It’s time’ into your ear.
Eula is going to drop field work entirely from the moment you are sure she’s carrying an heir. When Varka comes back from his travels, he will most likely provide Eula with a comfy desk job. She’s done a lot for Mondstadt, hasn’t she? Eula deserves it.
No drinks will be had for the entire duration of her pregnancy, which will be quite long.
Because Eula always wanted to have two children, preferably a son and a daughter. As soon as her body will recover after giving birth Eula will want to go again, to keep the age gap as small as possible. If she’ll give birth to two kids at the same time there won’t be a need to, of course.
Eula always insisted on doing all the menial housework, which bamboozled you at first. She just wanted to get lots of practice in cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and so on, as her royal upbringing never gave her the chance to. The woman is well aware of the reality of parenthood, and wishes to get used to the routine.
It’s hard for sure, but she is willing to endure the difficulty. This is one investment worth every second, every drop of sweat and blood in her opinion.
Seeing Eula with dark bags under her eyes and a tired smile on her lips will be common during the early years.
The knight will pester you about your job a lot if it involves danger. She quit hers, and would love you to do so as well. If combat is your calling… Well, she understands. Doesn’t mean that you won’t get an earful and a half every time you get back with fresh injuries. She will have her vengeance for every single scratch you get on yourself!
Ever since her work hours shortened dramatically, Eula gets to be home a lot more. She will gladly welcome you home after work with a warm meal and lots of cuddles.
Don’t think you will be neglected because of the kids. Your wife will make sure to give attention to you as well.
Oh, and about attention. Eula is a good mother, maybe even too good. See, she’ll hog most of the quality time with your kids, at least when they will be young. It’s usually a competition between you two over who gets to go out with the little ones.
Who would expect a bottomless supply of patience from her? She’ll spend 16 hours a day with her offspring and she will love it.
Eula is a very caring mom, but she sometimes struggles with correcting bad behaviors and administering punishment. So yeah. You’ll get to do the unpleasant work.
She will ingrain only universal qualities and morals into her kids, making sure to teach them that the sins of those who came before don’t cross out the person of today.
Will not influence the careers her kids will pursue, but will help wherever she can.
Just… be by her side when they grow up and leave to chase their own ambitions. She will feel very lonely if you don’t.
10/10, no doubt. Always wanted to have kids, and prepared accordingly. She will raise some great individuals with your help.

Keqing
Keqing has three goals in life. First - and foremost - to build a strong, independent and prosperous Liyue Harbor. Second - to find a partner, and third - to start a family.
Well, she had three. Now, only the first one remains. The young Keqing is not the same woman as the Keqing of today. She had grown immensely, but in a troublesome direction.
You see, Keqing’s dreams are… not actually hers. They never were. It all comes down to her upbringing.
Keqing is a part of Liyue nobility, who have strict values and goals. From her earliest days, those objectives and desires were imprinted on her mind. Everything she did was centered around the execution of them, not leaving much space for her own aspirations. Well, no time was left for it either - she was constantly snowed under assignments, tests, meetings and internships. She always had to prove herself, prove that she is indeed worthy of her family name.
And so, her dream of having a family faded and faded, until nothing of the motivation was left. Like with every childhood dream she had.
All of that pressure also resulted in her problems with interpersonal relations. Focused around achieving her ‘own’ goals, she saw (and still sees) others as elements of the background, coworkers or useful tools and assets in reaching her objectives. Keqing has become selfish. Self-centered. Egoistic.
For example: People say Ganyu’s mindset is hard to understand, but that’s a nifty little lie to hide the severe lack of compassion and basic empathy for her among others in Liyue. Keqing may have had a hand in propagating this statement. Independent of what Ganyu sees Keqing as, the former will never see the secretary as anything else than an inferior at whom she can throw more and more assignments.
You may have reawakened her dream from ancient times, when she still used to play with dolls. But Keqing has adopted a specific mindset throughout her life, and that will make pregnancy and child upbringing only another box on her checklist.
She won’t give up her work, or even limit it for that matter. Her job is more important than family and you, so she’ll agree to a single child at most. And that will be also on the condition you will take care of them.
She’s the mother that’s never home for sure. Also, a scary one at that.
Will reprimand her kid, whatever the sex may be, for bad grades.
Keqing will not understand many struggles someone not like herself may have, such as depression or lack of motivation. It all makes sense in her head - why don’t they work harder? They see how they can end up, right on the streets and outside of Liyue Harbor. Treasure Hoarders, Fatui, beggars and bums. She thinks her child will become just that if they don’t ace all the classes.
She speaks about this kind of thing often. Why? Because her parents told her the same when she was this age. Many of the awful parenting techniques she was subjected to will creep their way into her own methods.
Literally the asian parent. She has lots and lots of cash on hand thanks to her job, and she puts an adequate amount of this into the education of her young. Piano lessons, private tutors and martial arts - everything will be covered in this investement. What a shame she doesn’t put an equal amount of effort into this deal.
She will help the kid with school work, but that’s about it.
Ningguang will surely notice what’s going on between you two, and will mercilessly point it out to Keqing. Maybe with your combined efforts, the woman will be able to change for the better.
But that chance is quite low.
2/10. Keqing isn’t meant to be a mother. Keqing doesn’t want to be a mother. Not anymore, at least. She is too busy chasing somebody's dream for motherhood.

LET YOU BREAK MY HEART AGAIN.
Tumblr media
Midnight thoughts scrabble all about you
Your precious That sweet voice
The cold breeze silking thru your hair
Your cold voice.
Your colder than the midnight my darling
This unrequited love is hurting me dearly yet i still love you ,those harsh words of rejection still haunt me at night
The way your eyes pierced my skull
Can’t i take simple rejection? Especially from you?
My love i was the first to enter those hard brick walls you’ve built surrounding that cruel heart of yours
My mind still lingers
Dreaming that your eyes will look at me one last time
Without hatred or surprise
Your eyes glowing in the moonlight so beautifully
I can only dream
Yet i will
Of Course ill let you break my heart again
Just not this day
ONE DAY I WILL STOP FALLING INLOVE WITH YOU . . .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🔹🔹🔹~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chrysanthemums; a very beautiful flower. Its silky petals and bright colors brought you happiness.
Whenever you received a chrysanthemum, a smile would come to your face. The townspeople of Liyue knew you loved them.
Xiao knew you loved them too.
It’s a funny story how you met the Adeptus. He had caught you walking around in the late hours of the night.
You had been walking with a flower crown on your head, you hummed as your hands skillfully weaved flowers together to make a new one.
The Adeptus saw you were toying with something. Though not knowing what it was, he assumed it was something dangerous.
You continued walking before stopping when you heard something land behind you.
“What do you have in your hand.” A harsh voice said.
“Hmm?” You turned around, hands pausing from weaving, “Oh, it’s a flower crown.” You said, not even fazed a polearm was pointed at your throat.
“What is a human doing out this late?” He narrowed his eyes at you.
“I couldn’t sleep.” You simply answered.
Xiao withdrew his weapon, “Where are you going?”
“To a flower field outside of town.” You smiled.
He raised an eyebrow, “It’s dangerous to go out alone at night.”
“Hilichurls sleep at night.”
“You could get hurt.”
“I’ll be alright, thank you.” You slightly bowed before starting to walk away.
The Adeptus made a confused face. You talked as if there wasn’t a danger in the world. Not to mention, you talked so casually to him. Did you know who he was? Did you know you could die? Were you stupid?
He quickly caught up to you, walking beside you. No humans ever really caught his interest. But you, you were different.
“Don’t you have patrolling to do?” You looked at him, curious on why he was following you.
“There are other Adepti who are also on patrol. They can protect Liyue if anything happens.” He answered.
“And why are you following me?”
“I can’t have you getting killed by something because you were being stupid.” He bluntly said.
You hummed. The both of you walked in quiet before you got to a little field. When you saw it, a happy smile made its way to your face. You started running towards it.
Xiao, unsure of what you were doing, quickly scanned the perimeter, looking for anything that could attack. His eyes went back to you, the moon shined on your figure as you sat in a field of chrysanthemums.
He walked to you, “This is where you were going?” He asked. He saw nothing special about this place.
“Yes!” You got up and placed the completed flower crown on his head.
“You could’ve come during the day with someone.” He took the flower crown off his head, holding it in his hand.
“But they aren’t as pretty during the day.” You pouted. “When it’s night, the moon gives them some sort of glow. They look brighter when the moon hits them than when the sun does.”
“They’re flowers.” He said, very unimpressed.
“Okay okay, come here.” You patted the ground next to you, “I’ll show you what I mean.”
He walked to you and sat down right beside you.
You picked a flower, “Look.” You held it in front of him.
He looked at it, eyes slightly widening as he realized what you meant. The flower did seem to glow a bit when the moon hit them.
And that’s how you and Xiao first met. Xiao would always join you when you went to the flower field at night. He said he was there because he didn’t want you to die a stupid death. Even though he said that, it wasn’t fully true. He had actually grown to like you.
He often asked himself why he would like a human. But you were so interesting. You weren’t the average person.
You could look at something and see the detail that really brought out the object. What looked like a normal beautiful plate would turn into something more than just a pretty plate when you looked at it.
As soon as you noticed the small detail that made it something else, you were able to point it out. Putting the specialty into perfect words.
Xiao loved spending time with you, though he would never admit it. He liked watching you craft and draw. Your drawings were very good. He liked how the most messy sketch or the most simplistic line could be turned into something so beautiful.
“(Y/N).” He looked at you.
The both of you were sitting in a grassy field. You had decided to go watch the stars as you heard there would be a meteor shower.
“What?” You looked from the stars to Xiao.
“Close your eyes.” He quietly said.
“What? Why? I’ll miss the shooting stars.” You looked at him, confused.
“There’ll be more. Just close your eyes for a few seconds.” He looked at you, unimpressed.
You sighed, “Fine.” You closed your eyes.
Xiao reached into his pocket and pulled out a little cloth. He took it out and tied it around your head, covering your eyes.
“What are you doing?” You reached your hand up to take the blindfold off.
The Adeptus quickly grabbed your hand, preventing you from reaching the blindfold.
“Xiao what are you doing?” You tried pulling your hand out of his grip.
“Just calm down. I’m not gonna do anything bad.”
You bit your bottom lip, a bit unsure. Slowly, you set your hand down on the grass. You heard some shuffling, turning your head towards the noise you felt something lightly press against your lips.
You let out a little shocked noise. Surprised to feel another pair of lips on yours. After a few seconds, they left.
Quickly taking the blindfold off, you looked at him. “Did you just..?”
He looked away from you, a small blush appearing on his face.
Your face also started heating up, you gently placed your fingers on your lips.
Xiao pressed his lips into a thin line, still not looking at you. You weren’t saying anything or doing anything. You were just staring.
Did he do something wrong? Was that not how to handle the situation? Did you not like him back? Did he read your emotions wrong? From what he knew, humans could like someone after knowing them for awhile. Did he do this too soon? Did he not observe humans and pick up on their behaviors as much as he thought he did?
Questioned circled his mind before they were all stopped when he felt you turn his face towards you and press your lips on his.
He stared at you, eyes wide.
You broke the kiss when you started laughing. Your head went to his chest, “I like you too.”
He wrapped his arms around you. A happy and peaceful feeling in him.
-
For a few years, you and Xiao spent your days together. Most of the time, Xiao spent the night patrolling around Liyue. But some nights he would spend time with you.
Every night he spent with you, he cherished. You brought a happy feeling in his chest.
Until the night he lost you.
It started when the two of you went out to spend some time with each other. Everything seemed normal. It was just one of your normal outings.
You two had travelled to the Guyun Stone Forest to look for Starconches. He had only taken his eyes off you for a second. When he looked back, you were gone.
He looked around, “(Y/N)?” He called out. His heart started racing as he started to run around the small islands, looking for you.
He quickly turned his head when he heard the sound of shouting. Making his way towards the noise, he saw you trying to get away from some treasure hoarders.
The necklace you were wearing had caught their attention. And they wanted it.
“No! Get away from me!” You shouted, hand holding onto your necklace.
Your necklace belonged to someone important to you. They gave it to you before they set off on a journey. Only, they never returned.
The treasure hoarders continued grabbing you, trying to get your necklace. They were trying to check your pockets too for anything valuable.
One grabbed you from behind and held you against themself.
You jumped up, leaning against their chest, you kicked your legs in the air, “Get off me you crazy!” You yelled.
“Hold still!” A treasure hoarder yelled. He was getting annoyed with your struggling. When you didn’t listen, he finally snapped. Taking a small dagger, he dug it into your stomach, twisting it.
Xiao’s eyes widened as he saw you get stabbed. The scream you let out pierced his ears, shaking him to the core.
He summoned his polearm as he lunged at the hoarders.
They dropped you to the ground, focusing on the newcomer.
In just a few minutes, each of the treasure hoarders were beaten. The Adeptus made sure they would never breathe again.
Xiao threw his weapon to the ground. He quickly went next to you and cradled you in his arms. His hand went into his pocket and grabbed a cloth. Pressing it against your stab wound, he desperately tried to stop the bleeding.
“Shit shit shit shit.” He quietly said. He applied more pressure to the cloth.
You winced, grabbing his hand.
A few tears fell from his eyes, “I shouldn’t have let my guard down. I shouldn’t have! If I had only stayed aware we wouldn’t be in this situation and you wouldn’t be in pain!” He yelled through is tears. He tied the cloth around your stomach, making sure it was tight. He then picked you up and started to run back to Liyue for help.
Tears started slipping down your face, “Xiao,” You gently said, “I’m not going to make it.”
“Shut up, don’t say anything like that!” He kept running. For the first time, the Adeptus felt out of breath. His lungs ached and burned as he continued to run.
You looked up at him, a sad smile on your face, “Xiao, let’s go home.” You started to cry, “I want to see the flowers again.”
“Shit stay awake! We’re almost there!” He looked down at you. He watched in horror as he saw your eyes slowly shut. When they did, he collapsed to the ground, letting out a painful sob. He wiped his tears, trying to get them to stop but they wouldn’t.
He stared silently at you. Brushing his hand against your cheek, you were getting cold. He cried silently, hitting the ground in frustration and pain.
The one mortal who meant something to him, he lost. It was his fault. He couldn’t save you. He didn’t protect you. He failed you. He let you die.
He killed you.
What felt like hours of crying and mourning were only minutes. You had passed just a few minutes ago, and yet it felt like you had been gone for hours.
When Xiao got back to Liyue, he buried you where you loved the most.
The chrysanthemum field.
A beautifully painted stone sat where you were laid to rest.
-
It had been a few years since you passed.
Xiao placed some chrysanthemums on your stone. “Happy anniversary, (Y/N).” He felt a pit form in his throat.
Every year on your anniversary, he would place three chrysanthemum flowers on your stone.
A red one; meaning love and deep passion.
A white one; meaning loyalty and honesty.
And a yellow one; meaning deep sorrow.
Xiao kept a white chrysanthemum charm on him at all times now. Even with you gone, he would remain loyal to you and you alone.
Many a time, his mind would wonder to a certain conversation the two of you had. He closed his eyes, remembering it.
“Xiao.” You poked his shoulder.
“What?” He looked at you.
“What’s your opinion of reincarnation?”
He shrugged, “I don’t have a strong opinion on it. Though, I sometimes believe it’s real.” He looked up at the night sky, “After living for so long, I sometimes see a person who closely resembles another person who has already passed. They aren’t exactly the same, but they’re very similar.”
You hummed, “When I die, I promise I’ll come back to find you when I’m reborn.” You smiled at him.
His breath caught in his throat. He almost forgot you were still a mortal. Destined to pass when time decided to collect you. He shook those thoughts away, giving you his reply, “I’ll wait for you, then.”
The Adeptus looked up at the sky, “(Y/N), six years have passed. It’s lonely without you,” He paused, “Sometimes I wonder if I should just give up,” he grit his teeth, feeling tears prick at his eyes, “But, I won’t. I will continue to wait for you.”
Often, Xiao would walk the beaches alone. One night, he had an empty bottle and some paper.
Sitting down on the beach, he took out a pencil and started to write;
‘Today, I walked alone on the beaches of the Guyun Stone Forest and picked up several Starconches along the way.
I heard that they contained secrets and can be used to send messages. But when I put them to my ear, I heard no voices, just the hollow sound of the wind.
No matter.
The wraths of evil spirits, the omens of calamity… and your voice. That’s all I need to hear.
When you’re free, come talk to me about what you heard from the Starconches.’
Rolling up the paper, he stuffed it into the empty bottle and put the cork back on. He stood up and threw the bottle into the water, watching it as the current carried it away.
Maybe one day, you would meet again.
Canon Verse Angst “Drabble” - Safely Under Your Wings
Xiao had rescued her.
Actually, that wasn’t really accurate.
It was Alatus.
Yes, this time it was not Xiao, but the Golden Winged King, Alatus.
Two pairs of wings; large, golden, and powerful, flapped through the air as if controlling nature itself. He was navigating through the sky diligently, but on high alert.
Keqing, wrapping her arms tightly around the Yaksha’s neck, was being carried firmly in his arms.
The two were in the middle of Cuijue Slope, avoiding a Ruin Hunter in high pursuit. The Millelith had been dispatched to dispose of it, but the automaton was much more aggressive than usual. Thus, the Conqueror of Demons and Yuheng, who’d been patrolling the area, took matters into their own hands.
Their relationship was still a secret in Liyue, but the matter was too urgent for any of the officers to question why the Vigilant Yaksha was conveniently tagging along with Lady Keqing. As soon as they caught wind of the situation, they began to close in, attempting to lead the Ruin Hunter further into the valleys where it could be defeated.
Unfortunately, whatever Abyss magic was at play here was stronger than what either Keqing, or even Xiao, were used to. The pair found themselves losing the upper hand quickly. The Ruin Hunter began to launch attacks toward them, far too quickly for them to anticipate. While Xiao was able to adapt, Keqing could only move so nimbly in such an uneven space.
When she could dodge attacks no longer, Xiao immediately came to her rescue. Summoning his golden wings, those which he had rarely used, he scooped Keqing into his arms, while the Ruin Hunter gave chase.
Now, as Keqing was calculating their next plan of action, she caught a glimpse of the Yaksha’s face. His eyes were focused ahead of them. Narrow and determined. To complete their mission, yes. That much was certain. But also, she knew he was more worried about her safety. And despite the urgency of the situation and the fact that her heart was admittedly racing at how quickly things had turned on them, she steeled herself to remain calm.
And despite his own lack of confidence in dealing with such a powerful foe, Xiao’s grip never loosened.
If anything, it grew tighter, pulling Keqing closer to him.
She knew she was safe.
She always felt safe with him.
Nevertheless, Keqing knew that Xiao couldn’t continue like this. He was just barely avoiding the slashes of the machine when he summoned as much additional power as he could muster, teleporting the pair a considerable distance away, setting Keqing on part of the cliff that extended outward and formed a small crevice.
“You’re unhurt?” He asked.
“I’m fine.” She replied.
Keqing could see the doubt in Xiao’s eyes. She had sustained a few cuts and bruises from a missile that had been fired at them when they initially approached the rouge Ruin Hunter. While she was able to avoid it, she’d still been caught by some of the debris.
“I’ll be fine.” Keqing assured him. Xiao could tell by her tone that the “as long as you’re here” did not need to be voiced.
“It’s becoming too dangerous.” Xiao said, rising to his feet. His shirt was falling off him, barely hanging on after his wings had torn through it. “I’ll have to lead the automaton away from here before trying to challenge it. It has too much of an advantage now. You’ll have to stay here.”
“But Xiao-”
“You’ll be hurt if I continue like this. It knows that. That’s why its targeting you.” Xiao said, firmly, before his tone became softer. “Wait here, okay? Just hide. Don’t let it see you and don’t move from this area until I come back.”
The concern for her in his voice was evident. As much as she hated it, Keqing knew this was no time to be stubborn. She refused to be a burden, even if it meant having to take to the sidelines.
“Okay. Just hurry back.”
The Yaksha nodded, pressing a kiss onto her forehead before suddenly darting off, as the Ruin Hunter whizzed after him. Had he remained a second longer, the creature would have potentially slammed itself into the cliffside, eliminating all three of them.
Keqing’s heart raced as she realized how close she’d come to death. Despite having selfishly wished she could have had Xiao’s lips remain on her forehead for another moment, she inwardly praised his ability to sense that he was in no position to do so.
The Ruin Hunter gave chase, but Xiao wasn’t making it an easy feat. While it was not particularly the time to be admiring him, Keqing couldn’t help herself. It was magnificent, seeing him fly. It was only recently that Xiao confessed to her that he hadn’t used his wings in centuries. Ever since his return from the Chasm, he’d felt compelled to show them to her; to reveal a part of himself to her that he’d previously kept hidden away. Only his former comrades and Rex Lapis had seen them.
Immediately, Keqing had fallen in love with them. And it only deepened her love for the one who controlled them. His wings were beautiful, and Keqing had been honored that she had been the first one to see them in hundreds of years.
He’d been getting accustomed to using them again, and Keqing was always eager to see them summoned. Whether the Adeptus was training, doing surveillance, or simply…taking her on a ride to see Liyue…it was a breathtaking sight, seeing the Demon Conqueror control the skies. Thinking about those moments allowed her to push aside any feelings of helplessness that were threatening to overtake her.
It had taken Xiao a lot to put aside his pride and allow her to take care of them for him after a hard day’s work. She would wash them, comb through them, and then finish with a relaxing brushing. It was a soothing pastime the two were growing to enjoy. As Keqing’s eyes remained on the Yaksha, she kept her mind focused on how many hours it was going to take her to get them back in shape once they finished the mission.
Not that she minded. She could stay cozied up beneath his wings for hours. There was something intimate about it that made her feel safe.
Xiao’s flight wasn’t as good as it usually was. Keqing could tell. He’d taken a few hits while he’d been carrying her, putting him at a disadvantage. Still, Xiao tried to keep the Ruin Hunter’s attention enough to lead it out of Cuijue Slope, but at a distance to avoid taking any more serious damage.
He had almost made his way out of the valley when the automaton suddenly seemed to be moving faster. As if it had been capable of doing so the entire time and had been holding back. Its body glowed; something in the area was making it stronger. Keqing looked around for some sort of Leyline disorder, her eyes darting along the ground, but unable to notice anything unusual. As her eyes were zipping, something caught her attention, bringing them back forward.
The Ruin Hunter, assuming a tremendous amount of speed, pulled its drill-like arm backwards, before piercing it into Xiao’s left wing.
Keqing flinched, squeezing her eyes shut and willing herself not to call out to Xiao, lest she attract the beast’s attention. It was a serious injury, she knew. And painful. But as painful of an injury as she could tell it was, she knew it was something the Conqueror of Demons could quickly free himself from.
At least, that was what she thought.
Until she heard the strained scream echoing through the ravine.
Immediately, her eyes shot open, and it was only then that Keqing noticed that Xiao had not only had one wing pieced, but both wings on his left-hand side. The nerves had been torn apart and neither could be controlled.
“XIAO!” Keqing screamed. “Get out of there!”
The Ruin Hunter ripped the drill from Xiao’s wings, sending the Yaksha hurtling downwards as he desperately tried to keep himself air bound. He was trying to hide it, but it was clear Xiao wasn’t going to be able to carry his own weight with only his right wings to work with. The Ruin Hunter began to close in on Xiao’s weakened state.
Instinctively, Keqing lunged forward, a move that would have certainly sent her flying off the edge of the cliffside to her death. She had no idea why she moved or no inkling of what she intended to achieve by doing so, as she and the Conqueror of Demons were hundreds of feet apart. She just felt the urge to do something. In an instant, she was surrounded by a field of Anemo energy, encasing her where she sat. Despite how weak he was, Keqing was unable to break through the field Xiao had just cast.
Keqing continued to scream helplessly as she watched Xiao continue downward. He was facing the Ruin Hunter now, his Jade Spear in hand. He eyed the machine for what felt like minutes before it lunged at him once again. This time, Xiao managed to twist his body to avoid the attack and land on top of the creature’s body.
It flew around recklessly, waving its mechanical arm in the air and puncturing through one of Xiao’s remaining good wings. He gritted his teeth, fighting against the pain as he drove his spear through the eye of the machine.
It flailed wildly, trying to regain control. But Xiao, concentrating all his energy into the Jade Spear, pulled it from the eye and, with one final strike, blew the Ruin Hunter into pieces that went hurtling toward the ground.
With no more strength and his wings barely usable, the Yaksha, too, plummeted toward the ground below.
The "NO" Keqing screamed echoed through the canyon until Xiao’s body was no longer in sight.
A second later, the Anemo field disappeared. And with it, Keqing’s heart sank.
She was immediately on her feet, scaling her way to the bottom of the canyon. Her heart was racing; it felt as though her entire body was shaking with every move she made. She was hardly stable on her feet and relied mostly on her Vision to blink to the spot where a cloud of dust was starting to clear.
She heard sounds of footsteps, quickly looking up with a rush of relief, but was disappointed to see it was only a few Geovishap Hatchlings and Hilichurls feeling from the area.
Slightly behind them, she caught sight of what looked like a large lump of golden feathers.
Keqing swallowed as she made her way closer to it, carefully avoiding any feathers on the ground, lest stepping on them somehow hurt the Adeptus a few feet away from her.
She approached Xiao slowly. Carefully. Forcing herself to remain calm.
He’s fine. He’s always fine.
“Hey…Xiao…” she said, quietly.
He promised me he’d always be fine.
“That was…a really hard fall, wasn’t it?”
Keqing moved closer, expecting he’d have gotten up by now. Her heart pounded in her ears as she steeled herself with each additional step that the Adeptus lay motionless in front of her.
“Mm…b-but…you’ve survived far harsher falls than this one. I’ve…I’ve seen it.”
Keqing kneeled beside Xiao, his body unmoving. He’d landed on his side, the impact evident by a deep indent around him. His wings seemed to have broken much of the fall, but a red pool under his body was threatening to coat Keqing’s heels.
“Xiao…come on. You’re…losing a lot of blood.” Keqing said, finally bringing herself to touch the Yaksha. She gently shook him, blinking dust out of her eyes.
He didn’t move or flinch when she touched him.
“Xiao…Xiao…get up.” Her voice was shaky, growing louder as she continued rustling him.
“Xiao…we have to hurry. I can’t carry you that far by myself.” Keqing said, grabbing one of his arms and attempting to pull him up.
His body was heavy. Far heavier than it had ever felt before.
The grim reality began to sink in as Keqing forced herself to examine the Adeptus. His expression never changed. He didn’t show any signs of pain. His fingers failed to curl around hers. Blood continued to spill from his body and wings.
And he wasn’t breathing.
Keqing looked around, fighting a desire to scream. She wanted to call for help but knew it would be useless, even if the Millelith happened to hear her. She wanted to release her anguish and curse every Abyssal name she could think of to blame for this. She wanted to cry.
She wanted to punch Xiao and tell him he was an idiot. She wanted to tell him how stupid he was and that he could have been killed being so reckless. She wanted him to say, “I know”, and pull her into his embrace, and tell her, “But I’m still here, aren’t I?” like he always did.
But she could do nothing at this point but weep.
Silently, softly, her tears kept flowing.
She crawled beside him, under one of his tattered wings. Still beautiful and warm, despite their mangled state. She took his arm and draped it over her body, as she curled up as close to him as possible.
There she lay.
Under his wings.
Where she felt safe. ~~~
In another universe.
Mistakes were made, forces drove you two apart. But every night, where their greatest desires come alive, they would wish desperately you were still with them.
ft angst w various characters
part 2 here
Tumblr media
In that universe, they weren't afraid to love loudly.
They were hurt by those who they loved, being behind nothing but the ashes of their past selves.
Once hot and passionate with love, their flame was now burned to a crisp, no trace of affection left.
But you came with that spark, the one chance for their heart to reignite with love and affection.
They cursed themselves fools for not realising the warmth and brightness. you brought into their lives.
And by the time they realised it. You were already gone, your flame burning in the distance, where they could never feel your warmth again.
Tumblr media
Xiao, Diluc, Sara, Rosaria,
Tumblr media
In that universe, they would have done anything to protect you.
You don't understand what you meant to them. You never did. Your laugh, your smile, your eyes. Everything about you, they worshipped, even more than their own beliefs, their own values, their own Archons and Gods.
You weren't just a friend to them. You were a lover, a safe space, a protector, a healer, a fighter, and more to them.
You were everything.
How were they supposed to move on when everything was robbed, snatched away from them like a thief who stole? Robbers who plundered everything good from you, and left you an empty shell?
How could they forget everything that they went through with you? You were always with them, they couldn't bear the grief.
If the power of Hydro was to take any shape, then please, take the shape of you, so that they could pretend.
Or perhaps, take them. Take them with you. They can't feel anything if you weren't there.
Tumblr media
Lyney, Lynette, Freminet, Yae Miko, Kokomi.
Tumblr media
In that universe, they were free to love you.
No judgement from society, parents, peers. None of that. In that world, everyone would be supportive of your ties with them. Everyone would have loved the both of you together.
There's no restrictions from loving you. No responsibilities, no barriers, no obstacles to your love.
You two couldn't be separated. Never.
So why? Why is someone else beside them in the bed where you should be? Why is someone else taking up all the space that was rightfully yours?
Why weren't you beside them?
Where were you?
When did you go?
Who drove you away?
What happened?
Those questions would haunt them for the rest of their nights.
Tumblr media
Jean, Lisa, Venti, Kaeya
Tumblr media
In that universe, your beliefs would have aligned.
Don't get them wrong. They do love you dearly. So much, oh so much.
But one of the few things you can't change of them is their own personality. It's what makes them who they are.
There are simply some things they cannot give up, even with you on the line.
And they have let you go for it.
Somewhere along the line, when they see you happy with someone, someone who's not them. They regret.
They spend nights trying to remember the taste of your lips. The warmth of your embrace. The peasant feeling in their chest when you whisper 'I love you'.
Such is the price to pay for keeping their own beliefs.
Even though they wish you were the right one.
This is the price of going against the flow.
Tumblr media
Ei, Keqing, Itto, Heizou,
Tumblr media
In that universe, their dreams and desire for knowledge you accepted.
when they were young, they had simple hopes and desires
You laughed and thought of it foolish.
They despaired as you mocked their ambitions and dreams.
Now, you regret.
Regret putting down the innocent dreams and hopes of the ones you loved.
Now, it is your turn to dream. Dream, an endless dream where you could redo everything, correct your mistakes, set your path to the right path that still had them in your lives.
You will not be rewarded. They have made their dreams into reality.
Yours remains a dream, never fulfilled.
Tumblr media
Tighnari, Amber, Xiangling, Nilou
Tumblr media
In that universe, that answer was always you.
No second guessing, no other obligations, no need to choose between two. You were the only option, the only one that mattered.
Do I stay with you in temporary bliss, or should I choose to never be near you, lest I hurt you?
Do I kill you, or do I let you live?
Do I wish you all the best, or do I wish it never works out?
Do I approach you, or do I not?
Their minds consumed with the thought of making the right choice, they never thought of what made them happy.
You.
Life was too short to second guess too long.
Tumblr media
Ganyu, Sucrose, Shenhe,
Tumblr media
In that universe, they had no responsibilities.
No chains to tie them down. No contracts to hold them down. Nothing weighing down on them.
The both of you could love each other, without worrying about responsibilities, And even if there were any, so what? They won't clash, they won't affect your relationship with each other.
The both of you won't be on opposite sides, duty-bound to the faction that you were in.
The both of you didn't had to sneak about to keep the love alive, to keep the affections hidden.
One party didn't had to choose their duty over you, because you were their greatest duty.
In that universe, there was no responsibilities, other than loving each other.
Tumblr media
Zhongli, Childe, Ningguang, Neuvillette,
Tumblr media
In that sweet universe, the both of you existed at the same time. The stars aligned. The both of you drawn to each other like 2 magnets, perfectly fitted each other like a lock and a key, and always sticked together like bacons and eggs.
In another universe.
Tumblr media
thought of it randomly. I did my best to fit the characters into each category.
Cheers, J
〉MASTERLIST〈
Tumblr media
i keep the letters that you wrote in a secret place.
when you two were still together, you always bought things that reminded each of you of each other. plush toys, jewelry, matching outfits, and other items. letters are also included—she loves to exchange letters with you, especially when you’re away from each other.
but now, all the things you bought for her are all meaningless. without you by her side anymore, what does these things even mean to her? these things now had no value. the urge to break them and get those things out of her sight is just… too intense. yet, she can’t. she knew your last wish for her was to take care of the things you had bought for her. she hides them in a secret place, sometimes would look at them and gradually think about how these things used to make her smile like a fool. oh, how she missed this feeling— how she missed you.
YOIMIYA, FOCALORS, amber, xiangling, ganyu, KIRARA, LISA, NINGGUANG, keqing.
yeah, i got bitter when you got cold, and could you really blame me though?
you were a sweetheart in her eyes. someone so sweet, soft, kind, gentle. someone who impossibly can do a crime, someone who wouldn’t and won’t break her heart—someone as perfect as an angel.
at least, that’s what she thought before certain things happened between you and her.
here she is—looking at you like someone she utterly despises, despite the fact that she used to swear to the archons that she’ll cherish you and protect you forever. you got bitter from time to time, and she got cold and hurt as a result. well, things changed, right? and she still couldn’t help to miss your subtle smile that always made her forget about the weights around her shoulders.
ARLECCHINO, yelan, RAIDEN EI, shenhe, candice, DEHYA, KUKI SHINOBU.
you know this song is about you, who else could it be?
she wrote a poem about you, about how perfect you are. she sang for you, about how she couldn’t get enough of your love. she takes loads of photos of you, admiring how gorgeous you look from every angle. she would do anything for you. you are the love of her life after all.
but you left her alone. you left her side. words couldn’t express how much this hurt her internally. she couldn’t stop re-reading the poem she wrote about you, she couldn’t stop humming your favorite songs, she couldn’t stop looking at your angelic photos. she couldn’t let you go.
XINGYAN, CHARLOTTE, ayaka, nilou, yun jin, BARBARA.
you were the first to make me feel like i was me.
she never felt any feelings like this when she’s with you. it feels… weird. in a good way. how her eyes softened when she saw you, how her face would heat up, how her heart rate increased, how the mingling and odd ticklish feelings filled her stomach and how the overwhelming feelings slowly destroyed her in the most heavenly way. she can be herself around you, and that’s the only thing she wished to feel once in her life.
but that was the first and last time she would ever have that feeling. she couldn’t feel the same way anymore. she couldn’t love another person in the same way that she loves you. and this was the first and the last time that she would be able to feel love and pain in such a way.
CLORINDE, sucrose, LYNETTE, ROSARIA, eula, mona, KOKOMI, KUJOU SARA, collei, noelle.
i made you my whole world.
she imagined a lovely future for your relationship. she imagined how she’ll wake up right next to you in your shared bed, how she’ll start a lazy morning with you—spending the rest of her life with you by her side.
but fate said otherwise. and it was being really, really cruel. archons above, why would they take you apart from other people? she just can’t imagine a life without you. it’s impossible—it feels like she is losing the sun of her life—the hope of her life. she just wanted you and only you. oh what is she supposed to do without you?
yanfei, LUMINE, faruzan, mona, LAYLA, fischl.
always in the back of my mind, you’ll be my girl.
the combination of all the parts—she did everything and anything for you.
she keeps the things that remind her of you, she wrote poems about how perfect you were for her. you were the first who made her feel like herself—she made you her whole world. you were her everything, her other half… she just couldn’t let you go. she cherishes you dearly, even if death could separate you from her—she would gladly die with you.
NAVIA, YAE MIKO, la signora, jean, BEIDOU, HU TAO.
