It's funny how lily accuses County of changing their story and adding worse and worse stuff when that's what she does as well.

The first time she ever talked about Courtney it was a story about how they were a brat who they beat up for scratching her. But now she's been heavily implying Courtney sexually abused her in some way, months after playing up her sister as nothing but a run of mill asshole.

It's just ironic that lily deflects Courtney's a claims by saying "but her story changes and gets more and more outrageous so it has to be lies", while also doing the exact same thing. Like idk if we go by her own logic, she's just as unbelievable.

there's a difference between a story changing and more details being added. Courtney always said that the molestation started when she was 6 and LO 7. now he's saying that it started in LO's room. Courtney always claimed that LO would sneak into their room to molest her. now Courtney is saying that she specifically started doing that at 11. Courtney has always claimed that LO must have done something to him during their sleep, when he was unsconscious so he wouldn't know for sure what it was and could only see the consequences of it the next morning. now it's that he is realizing that the SA probably escalated considering everything in retrospective, just like only now in retrospective she can aknowledge that LO was more than likely SA as a kid. most of the things LO accuses Courtney of being are things we have proof LO has done. i don't mean the allegations specifically, but the putting minors in danger (by grooming them and exposing them to NSFW content, both in her channel and tumblr), the being a violently abusive person (LO bragging about stabbing some guy on the streets with a pocket knife), the being transphobic (and unlike Courtney, LO never apologized for misgendering other trans people) and constantly actually changing her story to whatever it suit her at whichever moment. originally LO would say that Lizzy never did anything physical to her. but the moment Lizzy came out talking about how LO would coerce her into doing NSFW she was never comfortable with, emotionally manipulating her into it until she could literally not take it anymore. now it turns out that she did physically abused, and not only that! she totally raped her! do you see the difference there? if Courtney had said "LO was a creep and i didn't like her, but she never did anything to harm me physically" from the start and only later said "actually she molested me/abused me sexually" then we can talk about changing stories, but he never did. his story has always been the same. unlike LO who constantly switches from "i beat her up a thousands times" and "she was beat up by me" to "she actually abused me all along, don't ask me how or in what way, just know she did that to me" (after months of she accusing me, but that's a coincidence) from "Courtney is the violently abusive one" to "grab the heaviest object that you can grab and smash it against the head of your bullies" as an advice to give to children at school. you can dislike Courtney all you like. you might even doubt her story. but it's no way that in good faith someone can see everything we have in LO, all the archives, all the videos, all the receipts, and come out thinking that is a innocent well adjusted person who has "never done a damn thing wrong" her entire life. LO is the one who has a history of coercing people into doing sexual things for her against their own boundaries, not Courtney. LO is the one with a long history of sexualizing and romanticizing incest, even to this day, not Courtney. LO is the one who has flip flopped all over the place when talking about Courtney, not him. LO is the one who is desperate to deny that Courtney ever went through any kind of abuse, even the one that had nothing to do with her, just to save face herself, not Courtney. LO is the one who wants to sell you this image of her being the perpetual victim who never harmed anyone and never did anything wrong she needed to change, not Courtney.

Quinni was rather young when she realized she was a lesbian.

Maybe it was because she was unapologetically Autistic and therefore didn't have as much care for social norms. Maybe it was because she had two dads who were sure to try and keep their daughter informed. Maybe it was just because girls were really hot and she couldn't ignore that.

Regardless, one day she came home from school and excitedly told her dads about this pretty girl who had just moved to her school named Sasha and how she was so cool and smart even though they were all in 4th grade.

Her dads just exchanged a knowing smile before asking for all the details about their kid's first crush.

Dustin was in 6th grade when he fully had the thought of oh, I am NOT straight.

He figured it was puberty making his attraction to others harder to ignore because, in hindsight, he'd always found boys and girls equally as attractive.

"Hey, dad" he said one day after he came home from school.

"Hey, kid" his father replied. He seemed a little distracted, but Dustin didn't care. He was too excited about his realization to care. "How was school?"

"I like boys"

"Oh" his dad said. A tense moment passed and then he smiled. "Thanks for letting me know"

"Girls too" Dustin amended. "But yeah. I like boys"

"That's nice... How was school?"

"Boring"

"Right..."

The first person Amerie came out to was Harper.

They were in 7th grade. It wasn't a situation where Amerie just suddenly realized then that she was bi- She'd always known she found boys and girls attractive- But that was when she first spoke it into existence.

"I'm bi" she said bluntly one night while Harper was staying over because her house was 'haunted' again. The platinum blonde looked over and smiled at her.

"That's sort of random"

"I just realized I hadn't told anyone that yet" Amerie shrugged. "Like, out loud. So why not tell you first?"

"I'm honored"

"Okay, smart ass" Amerie playfully shoved her and the two broke down into a fit of giggles.

After Amerie became more open about being bi in 7th grade, that gave Sasha the confidence to start being loud and proud about who she was.

She put "she/they" in the bios of all her social media accounts, much to her family's confusion. They sent their family a few articles about what nonbinary was and they weren't the most receptive but she didn't care. She was gonna be herself whether everyone accepted it or not.

They also became the school lesbian- Sure, Quinni had been out for a while but Quinni was weird and didn't have any friends aside from Darren and her dads. Sasha, on the other hand, was sort of popular.

She quickly went all the way into environmental and queer rights activism, much to some of the boys' amusement.

They were out, and they would never try to hide it again.

Darren had to come out to their parents twice.

The first time was rather uneventful. After Quinni had come out to her parents in 4th grade, Darren was inspired to tell their parents that they were gay.

Both of their parents took it... Fine. They weren't over the moon by any means but they weren't surprised, and they still loved them at the end of the day.

It was the summer before 11th grade, the year where the Incest Map would be discovered and change everything, when they decided to tell their parents that they were nonbinary.

This... Didn't go quite as well.

They figured it could've gone worse, for sure. They could've been kicked out or beaten or blatantly told that they just weren't, but they weren't given a pool of acceptance either.

Their mom was just annoyed because it was just another thing that would make her kid ostracized. "Wouldn't it be easier if you just kept being a gay boy?" she asked. Darren rolled their eyes. "I mean aren't gay boys respected now"

"But I'm not a boy, mom" they insisted.

Their dad's reaction was slightly better, but they could tell he didn't fully get it either. Neither of their parents got it, and tensions only rised from there, especially since their parents kept misgendering them and didn't seem super invested in trying, especially their mom.

Whatever, they thought. At least I have Quinni

Anthony wasn't given a choice when it came to coming out because the Incest Map was found and suddenly everyone knew that Darren- Who most people still just read as an effeminate boy- Had given him a handjob.

When his family got the call from the school, it was so bad that he wound up sneaking out of his window after the noise stopped and booked it to Spencer's.

Spencer's own parents didn't really care when they found out their kid wasn't straight- Then again, it probably sounded better since it came from him in response to the Incest Map rather than the map itself. There were no boys or Darrens linked to him on the Incest Map.

His parents were pretty absent in his life, so it literally didn't affect them, which he supposed was better than what happened to Anthony, who showed up at his doorstep at one in the morning, sobbing.

"Come in" Spencer said earnestly. "My parents went out for some sort of trip, so you won't have to worry about them" he continued. He barely had time to even tell his parents Hey, you probably heard about the sex map. Just so you know, it's not on the map, but I've definitely fucked around with boys before. Yes, including Ant. Please don't stop him from coming around we've never done it in this house, I promise before they left.

"My parents are really upset"

"About the Map?"

"About me getting a wristy from... Darren"

"Ah" Spencer nodded. Anthony's family had always been super religious. He should've seen this coming. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really"

"Okay" Spencer replied. He'd never been great at comforting people but he always found himself caring a little more when it came to Anthony. "Anything else I can do to help?"

It was while Malakai was out camping with Jai that he opened up about what had happened with Harper and Dustin.

"After the thing with the cop, Dusty and Harper found me and we went back to... I think Dusty's house" he explained. "And we were all high and we ended up... Having a threesome"

Harper's dad was stable and medicated for the first time in her life and she finally knew she would be safe enough to open up to him about the little crush she'd been developing over the years.

"I think I have a crush on Amerie" she said halfheartedly from the other side of the living room, focusing her line of sight on her lighter, which she flicked on and off repeatedly. Justin chuckled.

"That makes sense"

"What?"

"I mean, you've never shut up about how cool she is" he teased. She went slightly red. "I'd have been surprised if there weren't some other feelings there" he continued. "She's a nice girl"

"I don't know if she likes me back the same way" Harper told him. "I mean, I don't know either way, but I think our friendship is more important, y'know?" she asked, looking over at him. He nodded. "Just thought I'd tell you"

"I'm glad you can talk to me about this stuff now, ducky"

"Yeah" Harper smiled slightly. "Me too"

It was a week or so after Ca$h got out of jail when he came out to his Nan.

He'd done some research as soon as he was out, determined to find a label to fit what was wrong with him, and he did find one. Asexual.

He was asexual and there were a lot of asexual people and he wasn't alone.

"Hey, Nan" he said as he exited his room. "Can I talk to you about something?"

"Of course, dear" she smiled up at him, glad he was opening up for once. He was always so tense. "What is it?"

"Well, I found a label that... Fits my sexuality" he explained. "I mean, you know I like Darren and Darren isn't a girl, right?" he asked. She nodded. "But, um, I've never wanted... Sex, with them or with anyone else, um..." he cleared his throat. "I was looking it up to try and figure out why that was and apparently it's called asexual. So, I guess I'm... Asexual"

"Okay" Nan smiled. "Well, I'm glad you've figured that out. It was sort of excruciating to sit by and watch you struggle"

"Also, me and Darren are dating now"

"I would expect nothing less" she chuckled. "You're a catch, Dougie"

"No, they're the catch"

Being from the 1940’s, Bucky didn’t have much education in the world of smartphones and social media. When he came out of cryo in Wakanda, Shuri wasted no time showing him the ways of the iPhone. Honestly, he was stunned because there were so many things you could do with it. So much information was available at the touch of his fingers.

Shuri taught him the ins and outs of the phone. He had gotten pretty good at it, if he did say so himself. She had just begun to teach Bucky about social media when Steve pulled him back to the Big Apple. When he returned to New York, he was able to easily contact Steve, who was not as proficient as Bucky was. So when he met the fantastical group of four friends, they began to teach him. This was one of those things that they were incredibly excited to teach Bucky about.

“So you don’t have an account on anything?” Freddie held his hand out for Bucky’s phone.

“No, I have one on something. I think Instant Graham? My friend set it up for me, but she never taught me how to use it.” Freddie smiled and shook his head, dark curls bouncing back and forth.

“It’s Instagram, bubs and that’s a good jumping off point.” He opened the black iPhone and swiped through the pages on the homescreen. Coming across the sunset colored icon, he hovered his finger over it. The screen changed, opening to a white screen with the words, WELCOME to INSTAGRAM, whitewolf. Bucky smiled at the name displayed and Freddie scrunched his brows.

“What is a White Wolf?”

“I’m the White Wolf. It’s Wakandan. We can change it if we need to.” Freddie looked over at Bucky and saw the happiness on his face at the name.

“No, it’s good we can leave it.” He clicked on the profile button in the bottom right corner of the screen. “Okay, so this is your personal profile.” In the top left corner whitewolf was written with a little arrow next to it facing downward. Freddie opened the edit profile section.

“Do you have a favorite picture of yourself? You have to set a profile picture so people know that it’s you.” Bucky nodded in understanding, and then took his phone back to scroll through his pictures. He didn’t have many, just the ones that he took recently. There was hardly any of just him, but he eventually found one he deemed good enough.

“Alright, now what do you want to put in your bio?” Shrugging his shoulders, Bucky leaned back into Cassie’s plush couch.

“What does yours say?” Freddie pulled his own phone out of his pocket. The pale lilac color seemed to shine through the clear case that it wore. Opening his own Instagram, Freddie leaned the phone towards Bucky.

“What does ‘he slash they’ mean?”

“Oh, those are my pronouns.” Freddie received a head tilt from Bucky, so he decided to elaborate. “So, I identify as a non-binary who is comfortable with you using he/him pronouns or they/them pronouns. If you’re talking about me to someone else, you can say ‘he is at the store,’ or ‘they are at the store.’” Bucky nodded, still a bit confused on the subject.

“When do you use each one? Like is there a certain time that you say he and him and another time for they and them?” Bucky was trying to get some clarification on the topic.

“Not necessarily. Usually, when you’re first talking to someone, it’s common practice nowadays to use they/them pronouns so as to not misgender anyone. I know it probably sounds a bit excessive and a small bit over sensitive to you, but to a queer or non-binary person it makes a whole hell of a lot of difference when someone tries to be inclusive.”

“Okay, so like if I just meet someone on the street, I should use the they/them pronouns until told otherwise?”

“Yeah, absolutely. Do you want to include your pronouns in your bio?” Bucky smiled and nodded, happy with himself that he was able to understand that so well.

“So, what does it mean to be non-binary and still use the he/him pronouns? Don’t those two contradict each other?”

“Not really. Gender is a spectrum, as is sexuality, but for someone to identify as non-binary and use he/they pronouns, means that I feel that not everything about manhood accurately describes my truth. On that same hand, I still do identify as a male.”

“Right, right.” Throughout Freddie’s lesson about gender identity, he was able to finish Bucky’s profile and begin to follow the three girls. After clicking the blue follow button on all three of the girls profiles, the group chat between them started blowing up, that was a new phrase Bucky learned last week.

Evie: um, i just got the weirdest insta notif

Penny: me too???

Cassie: I did too.

Cassie: Wait, who is Bucky with right now?

Evie: DANG IT FREDERICK I WANTED TO HELP HIM SET IT UP

Incoming Call from Evie

“What do you want, spaz?” Freddie answered on speakerphone. An indignant scoff  came from the other end.

“I thought we were all going to help him with that, Frederick.”

“Um, I don’t remember us talking about that.” He laughed as the door to Cassie’s apartment opened, allowing Penny to walk in and smile at the two men on the couch. “Also, when were we going to have time to do that with you being at school and all?”

“We were going to wait until the weekend!”

“Eves, you’ve been saying that for the past like three weeks.”

“Oh my gosh, fine.” Her end of the phone got real quiet, “I’ll be home in like ten minutes. I call dibs on helping him set up a TikTok.” Three beeps signalled to the room that Evie had hung up the phone. Bucky turned to Penny and began to ask about her day.

“Ya know, the usual. Rude customers, bratty co-workers, life’s a dream at the bank.” She slipped out of her nude heels and made her way to the sofa. “What have you boys been up to?”

“We have been setting Buck up with some social media and learning about gender identity and respecting pronouns.” Freddie said proudly as he handed Bucky his phone back.

“Sick! Which ones did you do?”

“All the classics, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook just for PR though because hardly anyone uses it anymore.”

“Right, and can’t do TikTok until Evie gets here. Um, did you set up a Spotify for him?” Bucky recognized the name and the memories of Shuri helping him floated in his head.

“Oh, I have one of those. That was actually the first thing that Shuri helped me set up whenever I got this thing.” He opened the app quickly to prove what he was saying. Penny smiled and gave a small thumbs up. “I do have one question.” The two of them gave Bucky their undivided attention. “What is a TikTok?”

“Right, so it’s just short videos. It’s really pretty cool and a really good way to waste time.” Freddie answered while pulling up his own page on the app.

“Yeah, and the thing that shows you videos is curated to your tastes because it’s based on your likes and people you follow.”

“I’m almost positive that Evie is going to teach you a dance and do a TikTok with you, if you agree to it.” Penny laughed at the thought of Bucky doing one of the dances that she saw on her For You page. The door to the apartment swung open a second time, revealing a winded Evie.

She dropped her school bag on the floor, hunching over while gripping the side of the granite countertop. Evie held a finger up and the group on the couch waited for her to speak.

“I ran--” deep inhale, “I ran from the subway.” Another deep breath as she lifted her upper half, stretching out her back with her hands on the back of her hips. “You haven’t done TikTok yet right?”

“No, your Highness, we haven’t done TikTok.” She smiled big and then plopped herself on Bucky’s left side. She thrust her hand toward him, wiggling her fingers. Bucky cautiously placed his phone in the center of her palm.

“This is going to be good. Okay so since your name on Instagram is whitewolf, we can’t use that for TikTok. It’s gotta be something snappy.”

“I don’t know, I think you can use the same one for both, Eve.” Penny remarked as Evie downloaded TikTok onto Bucky’s phone.

“Well, of course you can, but we’re not going to.” She giggled as the app opened. She looked over at Bucky with wrinkled brows. “Do you have any nicknames?”

“Um, Bucky is my nickname.” He said in a duh tone.

“Well, obviously, but do you have any other ones? Like, what do your friends call you?”

“Bucky or Buck, I don’t really have nicknames.” Evie groaned and threw her head back.

“Okay, well let’s think. You’re a Sergeant. Your real name is James Buchanan Barnes. Superhero name is Winter Soldier or White Wolf. You have a metal arm.”

“You’re literally just stating facts, Evie.” Freddie said from the other side of Bucky, who was nodding along in confirmation to Evie’s statements.

“I know! I’m processing. What about vibraniumjames?”

“That’s disgusting.” “Mm, yeah that’s a no from me.” Penny and Freddie talked at the same time.

“metallicsergeant? jamesbby? Any of those tickle our fancy?”

“The first one isn’t terrible, but it’s not great. Why don’t you just use whitewolf like his Instagram? Or you could do iambuckybarnes.”

“Yeah, I’m with Freddie. I like whitewolf or iambuckybarnes, it’s simple. And I am the White Wolf, so yeah.” Bucky said to a disgruntled Evie.

“Oh my gosh, fine. We can always change it later, but this is fine for now.” She set up his profile, making it match the other ones that Freddie had made. Once she was finished with her work, she turned to Bucky and smiled big again. “Now, I can teach you a dance and if you’re cool with it we can post it on your profile.” Bucky shook his head and pulled himself off of the comfy couch beneath him.

“If we’re going to do this, we need to do it right, so don’t hold back on me.” He smiled as Evie squealed in excitement.

“You know, my school friends were just dying to see the day that you got social media.” This statement confused Bucky.

“And why would that be?” Evie laughed as she scrolled through her TikTok feed, searching for the right dance to do with Bucky.

“Well, for one, they think you’re hot and they’re thirsty hoes.” She clicked on the original dance video, showing the screen to Bucky. “And, for two, they love you. Everyone does.” Bucky shook his head at that. He did too many bad things for everyone to love him.

“Hey, remember what we talked about?” Penny said from across the room. “We don’t downgrade our progress. Most of the general public is more forgiving than we give them credit for.” Bucky nodded then focused his attention on the video.

“This is Cardi B’s song Up. People on TikTok have made a challenge of doing this dance to the song. I think it originated with a girl named Mya Nicole. Anyway! We’re going to do this one, if you’re up for it.” Bucky looked at Evie with one brow quirked. There was so much shaking in this. Nonetheless, he shrugged his shoulders., it clearly was making Evie happy so he wasn’t going to take that away.

“Sickening! Okay, let’s start learning it.” It took a good hour and a half to help Bucky move his body in the way that the dance required. By the time they were ready to start filming the actual video, Cassie had walked in.

“What is happening here?” A large smile spread across her face as she watched Bucky and Evie practice one last time. A breathless Evie turned to Cassie.

“Bucky agreed to do the Cardi B Up dance with me.” She then turned to Bucky, “You ready to do this for real?” The tall man beside her shook his head while laughing.

“Yeah, let’s do it.” From the safety of the couch, Freddie, Penny and Cassie were watching the scene before them unfold. Both Bucky and Evie jumped into frame, with their legs spread wide. Throwing their fists in front of them and then behind their legs in time with the music. Bringing their hands above their head to clap and then jumping again, throwing just one hand up at a time.

Shifting to the side, the pair brought the leg closest to the camera up to their waist while hitting it back down with their fist. They both remained facing sideways as they shook the leg they just hit and ran their hands down their torso. The pair did another vertical jump, bringing their knees up to their fists. Once their feet hit the floor, they folded at the waist, slamming their palms flat on the ground.

Smiles were plastered on both their faces as they finished out the dance, knees bent, bouncing their legs back and forth while tossing their hands above their heads. Loud laughter rang out from the three friends in the living room as Bucky and Evie dropped to their butts. The video ended with Bucky and Evie yelling at the other three in the room.

“You’re definitely going to go viral with that one, Buck!”

“Like an infection?” He asked with wide eyes of concern, more peels of laughter rang out.

“No, like famous, lots of people are going to see it.” That relieved and scared Bucky at the same time. He wasn’t quite sure how he felt about it, but he knows that his friends wouldn’t steer him wrong.

“Now we can caption it something cute!” Evie breathed out as she leaned over the couch next to Cassie, who was now curled up beneath a fluffy white blanket.

“Don’t forget to tag the original creator, I hate it when people don’t do that.”

The video was posted with the caption,

And it wasn’t long after posting that Bucky got a call from Steve that he needed to come into the tower.

Ok, so, I wanted to make a post about Apex real quick, because there are a few things that bother me about it.

1. The "head case" thing

Now idk how the team have managed to make this mistake twice but like, can they stop? It got backlash when Bangalore first said it, why did they think it was ok to try that shit again? With Mirage of all people! Like, from the way Wraith and him interact, it seems like they're friends so why is ok to just say that shit???

2. The slur

So, I know they said they ran it by the team, but like, did they though? And even still, it caused a lot of uproar and yet it's still in the game. As soon as it started to get heat, they should've put it on their priority to remove it asap, because now that people know that it is a slur, it makes it uncomfortable to play. And like, I get Caustic is supposed to be a bad person but like, come on.

3. Bloodhound and Loba

So, this might be a small thing that just bothers me, but like, the fact that through season five we were told that these two were close and that's the reason why Loba misgenders them, and then gave no evidence to actually show they were ever close just really bothers me. Like all it would've taken to fix this small error would be a voiceline between the two, perhaps talking about their families?? Or something?? Like, I don't think under any circumstances it's ok to misgender someone. As a trans person, I wouldn't let my best mate who I've know from the first day of school use my old pronouns. So I don't get why they couldn't fix the "boys and girls" line to something like "Shops open boys and girls, oh, and you too Bloodhound, we orphans must stick together." For when they are on the team?

4. The whitewashing.

God don't even get me started on this one. So, I think as a community, we can agree there is a whitewashing problem, amongst other things. That issue isn't helped by the fact that the Devs are also now ok with it I guess, because clearly whoever did those sprays has been living under a rock for the past year or so. Would it really hurt the team, just every now and then to dip into the community, either on here, or Twitter or something, just to get a general idea of what people liked about the updates, and what's causing an issue?

5. LGBT+

Ok so this isn't really an issue I just want a pride event or something. The idea I had was either give those who are confirmed LGBT+ an epic skin with their pride flag colours, so Gibby would have a rainbow themed skin, Loba would have a purple, pink and blue themed skin, and Bloodhound would have a yellow, white, black and purple themed skin. If they didn't want to do this, maybe make some gun charms with pride flags so the player can have their pride flags on their guns. Just something small you know? Or maybe a voiceline between the confirmed characters about pride.

6. Tom Casiello

I'm gonna be honest, him brushing off Mirage with the stupid joke kinda annoyed me. Like, I get he isn't confirmed to be bi or gay or anything yet, but he has been confirmed that he isn't straight. He's questioning, and I think that's really cool and interesting to have someone his age questioning his sexuality. We're so often told that we have to figure these things out from an early age to have any validation, which is bullshit. If it takes us time to realise it then those people shouldn't be locked out of the community because they didn't realize it sooner, but that's a discussion for another day. Tbh I'm just sort of loosing it with Tom, he keeps saying things that make me think are y'all even trying at this point?

Ok that's it for now. Sorry for the long rant. I did consider actually messaging Tom on twitter about all this but I don't think he'd reply. Thanks for reading though. Maybe if enough people bother the writing team about this they'd actually change some stuff.

I'm going to go on a half rant half... Idk what to call it, I guess just speaking into the air.

This is going to be about growing up in the closet in the middle of a city full of people who would hate you if they new the truth.

I started to realize that I was different from other kids when I was around 8. That was the age when societal gender roles started to be assigned to kids. Before then I could have worn anything I wanted, played with anything I wanted without judgement. At around 8 years old, adults started telling me that blue was for boys, pink was for girls. That I couldn't wear that skirt because only girls wear skirts. And some days that was fine, but other days it felt like I was seriously missing out on something.

If the adults were bad, the kids were worse. I remember that my only friends were the other social outcasts. My best and only friend until grade three was a girl with terminal brain cancer. I remember sobbing at her funeral, sad that she was gone, but also sad that I would be alone.

I was bullied all through school. The teachers did nothing to stop it. They thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't fit into their cookie-cutter mold of what a child should be like.

I never had a name for what to call myself until at around age 12 I read the second book in the Magnus Chase series. There I read about someone I could relate to. Someone who was like me. It was there that I learned the term genderfluid. Alex Fierro was a character that changed my life, and I will always be eternally grateful to Rick Riordan for including them.

Now that I had a term that I knew about, I could do covert research. I learned about the lgbtq+ community. I learned about terminology, pronouns, and how to transition.

I couldn't tell my parents about any of this. They were strict christians who would never accept me for who I really was. I kept quiet.

Fast forward to my senior year in high school. I am now 18 years old and puberty his hitting me hard. I got my first strong taste of gender dysphoria then. I slept constantly. I would either sleep or cry throughout all of school. Nobody offered help. Nobody wanted to see if I was doing alright. They couldn't comfort the outcast without becoming outcasts themselves, so the left me be.

It was also this year that I learned about my sexuality. I had (somehow) gotten myself a girlfriend. She was happy, I was not. Prom came around. We were both 18 and it was going to be a special night. It was when she was getting undressed that I had my sexual awaking. HOLY SHIT I WAS ASEXUAL, HOW AM I GOING TO EXPLAIN THIS?! After quite a bit of awkward talking, about how I didn't think I was ready to take this step, and it wasn't her it was me, we stopped that course of action. I think she started picking up on my inner asexual because a week later, we broke up.

Holy crap I'm getting distracted and this is just becoming an autobiography, but oh well, might as well throw my life story on the internet, I don't think anyone could use it against me in any way. Oh well, back to my life.

I have now graduated from high school, and I've started to outgrow the closet. Everytime my parents misgender me, it feels like a punch to the gut. I start realizing that I need to start coming out to people.

I start with the person I knew would be okay with it, my adopted sister. She was no longer living in the same house as me, and if she took it badly, there wasn't much she could do. To my delight, she took it great. She is still one of my biggest supporters and I love her a ton.

Next came my little sister. She was still living with us, but I knew she was okay with LGBT stuff. That went similarly well.

I did the same with my older sister, and that went just as well.

Next comes my biggest mistake. Feeling emboldened by the successes, I decided to come out to my older brother. At first he seemed supportive. Then about a couple of hours later he texted me. He told me that he had prayed about it, and he had received an answer. Trigger warning ahead, transphobia, homophobia, if that's a bad thing for you, please skip to the next paragraph. He called me an abomination in the eyes of god. He told me that God hated "the queers" and that I needed to repent.

He then told me that he was going to tell my parents. I begged with him to give me a week to prepare anything I needed in case I got kicked out. He agreed to give me a week. A day and a half later, he outed me.

I remember a lot of screaming from my parents. My mom was crying, my dad was yelling. They didn't kick me out of the house, luckily, but they then went on a crusade to make my life hell.

The first thing they did was call a priest to come "exorcise the demon causing my gayness". After that didn't work, they tried to send me to gay conversion therapy. My therapist, bless her, talked them out of it. They still proceeded to constantly misgender me, do "contraband searches", and try to make my life hell.

Well, it's been about 6 months since then. Life has gotten slightly better. But it's still hard.

Idk what the point of writing all this was. It just felt good to talk about. Congrats if you made it all the way

Ok, new idea for the Season 3 rewrite! 

Ok, so Aichi joined the Miyaji Academy choir (99% girls, huge cast, mostly serious). The ones they (Aichi) actually interact with as human-to-human are the few casuals in it. They (the casuals) don’t join any field trips or competitions, so it’s more of an idol-anime-club than anything else. This was on the roster, so they (Aichi) asked about that. The girl said that the casuals are left out of competing, so they are cool with it. Though they hold off on it officially until they get the Cardfight Club established first. The club gets word of thus, so they devise a plan to get them in. After school, Day 1, they give Aichi a stack of papers as an introduction to the club (an introductory course of sorts). No signings or anything, but the basic voice drills and links are on there. After Shingo comes into play, Aichi visits the (choir) club room. He is immediately greeted with confetti and party poppers (they saw him at the gate) at the door. They test his capabilities with a song of his choice. Unfortunately, Aichi sings a Cray song (the “alien accent” they’d right away come to term it as). This one garners a “idk wtf you’re saying, but I like the melody and vibe” reaction. Kinda like with any other foreign-lamguage song. He still gets applause, though--they liked it on principle, but the accent of off-putting. The “you’re an alien trying to fit in” thing becomes a(n inside) joke. Aichi admits that he’s never learned how to sing like an earthling properly, so that’s what he’s here for. This is his first school club, much less voice club.  This gathers much pity. Turns out the choir club as a whole has TWO rooms. One for the casuals (here), and one huge room for the main group (everyon else, the focus and faces of the club. No one knows of the casuals until they inquire into the club). Aichi decides to hang out with them. Every night or so at 8 (maybe just once a week at minimum, half the time), they gather in the park or the room to help each other learn to sing (like an earthling) as they’ve always done. Aichi is now part of an idol-anime. This club is hwere he/they gather(s) most of the Vanguard songs (that sound idol-ish). One he’s left Miyaji, he had officially learned how to do away with the alien dialogue/dialect in public.

The group still keeps in contact, though.

In case you’re wondering, the council is cool with non-heteronormative folks cuz “as long as it doesn’t impede your schooling, it doesn’t matter what you identify as.” The purple-haired dude (Suwabe???) is a FINE example. So everyone’s cool with NOT misgendering people (Aichi, in this case. Though he’s/they’re not the only one who identifies as a different genders. Not-straight characters are more common though (working harder than normal to justify their place in society???idk--I’m just a cis straight girl viewing gayness from a fangirl/spectator/outside perspective))

But, like, imagine Toshiki-kun just going for a walk that late at night and hearing something strange:

Toshiki: Am I hearing...an angel’s voice? ( “With another?” if it isn’t a solo)

He walks, cloudy-eyed in a trance-like state, towards the music that sounds like one just randomly died and went to heaven. In a clearing is Aichi singing a song, maybe Earth, maybe Cray and trying his best to sing it like an Earthling (though that will never work, and the Sendou knows it. Aichi’s just doing it for “the crew” (the casuals, his new clique). It has to be Earth songs. The best he can do is singing Cray but with an Earth accent (and even then, it still sounds incomprehensible to most Earthlings)), and Toshiki-kun is just paralyzed, detached from reality, dragged into Cray sometimes if it’s a Cray tune via Psyqualia. Just *sigh* the Kaichi. It’s a romance-anime moment when he’s discovered in that trance-and-staring, flustered both included sometimes.

Yeah, I am requesting my readers (since I actually get updates on who’s viewing my works (unlike on Wattpad and ao3 *disappointed, melancholic sigh*)) to help me (again. Nobody is helpful. Ever. I have to ask my friends, and then it’s--in their opinion, I’m talking gibberish--one of my “Special Interest” stuff ADHD Awareness Tumblr users post about.

This season I plan to start the buildup for Misaki x Kourin, so prepare your fics. Maybe even stuff like “there’s this fic with plot blablab-blah” and I shout-out disclaimers (shoutout to ma reader (maybe I’d give ur name) who read a fic with plot blablab-blah and I’m just gonna reblog the damn thing. And..)and I might be adding fics where it’s just copy-pasting the plot (the “Can I copy you?” “Sure. Just write it a little different so they think it isn’t copied” (???) meme-thing) and I thusly must link the source(s).

But yeah, Episode 15 is not exactly gonna be a rewrite. It’s just--same day, but the plot is completely elsewhere in town, and the actions that did happen in the episode is gonna stay exactly the same (well, added internal monologue, but that’s different), so it’s gonna be somewhere else.

Also, I’m having it so that, early in Season 1, Aichi drags Miwa to the Underground Cardfighter’s Hidout (Jun) to introduce him to his (future) boyfriend. Shortly after meeting the dude (beware the Trigger Warnings. They’ll be there for that one), Miwa gets less uncomfortable around Jun enough so that they’re f**kbuddies. Aichi knows IMMEDIATELEY, so he often teases Miwa about it (also as a way to get the blond off Kai if the brunet is clearly feeling uncomfortable/disturbed by said annoyance). I planned for it to be this episode, but now idk...contradicting timelines...This happens BEFORE Miwa is chained up to lure in Kai, so I need a pinpoint before then. PLEASE give me your opinions of when you want this to happen (by measure of Episode, as I do). This is just Aichi being scary (evil) and morally gray/ambiguous. K? HELP AN AUTHOR OUT!!! 

And yeah, the gender changes in this status update were necessary. Get it over with beforehand n’ all.

yes, i made a new au. yes, i’m planning to write this as a full au. sue me. i jump from thing to think like a squirrel, okay.

for now, it’s just a list of the characters and their traits (except the twins because they’re a super minor role, and i can’t bring myself to write it rn okay)

it mixes up things from the book and the 2018 movie because i said so

exists in a time outside of our timeline (think ‘50s/’60s mixed with present day)

virgil, thomas, the mxs, patton, and (sort of) logan’s appearances all stem a lot from the 2018 movie’s definition of their characters with some other facts thrown in, so you can look those up to get a somewhat decent idea of what they look like

the warnings may seem like a lot, but a lot of them are just brief mentions that are repeatedly scattered throughout the story on occasion

was very glad that patton decided that they would adopt their younger kids because logan hated every second of the pregnancy from trying for a baby to birth

he loves virgil so damn much regardless of the emotional turmoil because the kid was such a good reward

came out as sex-repulsed asexual about three months after patton announced that he was pregnant, and patton was pissed that he hadn’t spoken up sooner so they could have tried something different to make logan more comfortable

he’ll never admit it, but hearing the kind, caring words come out of patton’s mouth made logan cry for hours because how the fuck did he find such an incredible, loving husband

disappeared four years ago and no one has heard from him since

it’s rumored that he ran away with another woman (as if there was a woman in his life to begin with)

stories also sometimes include that patton tricked him into being gay (even though he’s a “woman,” right??? people are fucking stupid), and logan ran away from that lifestyle finally

but why would dr. murry just up and leave when he had such a good family and important research to finish? things aren’t adding up, and there’s only one way to figure out what’s going on:

📃 - OK SO. without like, spoiling too many plot points, our main character is cara and she lives with her grandmother. her mom is dead and dad is out of the picture. one day theyre getting chased by these people that her grandma knows and cara gets thrown into an alternate realm full of fantasy creatures using her grandmothers amulet. she meets a unicorn named lightfoot and a bunch of other rad people and basically, starts a journey to save that world from the Hunters. the Hunters are an organisation who specifically hate unicorns and want them all dead, led by Beloved, and cara and her friends have to try and stop them from entering the world and wiping them out. its sooo so so good and i highly recommend it cause i have no one to talk to about it please god

penumbra: gays in space. need i say more? im a huge slut for gay found family and especially in futuristic space, and im a huge big fan of the lgbt utopia its created. like yeah capitalism sucks but at least im not gonne get misgendered in space starbucks, u kno? all the writing and dialogue is so incredible and the SOUND DESIGN GOD, alex i know u specifically can relate when i say i would kill a man for sophie and her incredible sound design skills, like dude the dance scene in man in glass p2 you can hear every single individual step they take and every swish of junos dress and i jusT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god its so good, plus the whole the characters help me work through my trauma and repressed anger haha

911: this one is entirely your fault. so obligatory horny on main everyone on that show is so hot i want oliver stark to cradle me gently in his beefy arms oh my god. other than Men, the way it drives home the whole ‘you can’t save everyone, and it will kill you to try, so just focus on what you can do and keep living’ makes me so emo. the way it tackles big bureaucratic issues as well as closer to home interpersonal ones is amazing and i love how it shows people going through and dealing realistically with trauma.

treasure planet: again, who doesnt want to live in Cool Steampunk Space Travel Future? i really really love jims story and his arc, the way he deals with his trauma is uhh very familiar lol and his relationship with silver is like the ideal. the story is just the coolest concept and i love all the wonderful character design and animation, plus the soundtrack SLAPS and everything is beautiful

legend of zelda: ive been associated with this series from a very young age due to my name and as soon as i gave into my fate and looked it up for real i just kinda fell into it lol. i cant really tell you exactly what draws me to it besides ‘wow fun game!’ and ‘god i wish that were me,’ but like the absurd amount of detail thats put into each installment and the creative ways they retell essentially the same/similar story over and over is incredible

guardians of gahoole: so i had the same experience with this and treasure planet which is i remembered ‘oh hey this is a movie that exists and i cant clearly remember watching it, ill look it up :)’ and then it consumed my life for a solid 3 months. firstly this movie is absolutely gorgeous, the animation and framing is fucking stunning and the way they handled owls talking like people as far as the movement of their very inflexible beaks was amazing. it sort of has the same draw for me as warrior cats? secret animal society ft incredibly traumatic experiences and the characters dealing with it. like, the whole concept is just so fuckign wild and it works so well, i rly enjoy this niche genre.

💎 - alright trivia time, so guardians of gahoole is based on a book series and the movie only covers part of the first arc i think idk, BUT theres another series set in the same universe called wolves of the beyond that i devoured when i was younger! i didnt know they were connected for the longest time and when i found out i was :000, i still rly love wolves of the beyond and wanna reread it, as well as read the actual gahoole books. in the howls books, sophie is a redhead! also, markl is named michael and like a fully functioning young adult who ends up marrying one of sophies sisters. treasure planet is, obviously, based off treasure island but its so much better than the book dont bother reading it lol i tried and it was boring. there was plans for a treasure planet sequel that was fully scripted and cast but it was cancelled cause disney sabotaged treasure planet from the start with the shitty release and advertising and tldr we were ROBBED, also amelias concept was much more octopus like and while that wldve been rad im p glad she was switched to a cat for. several reasons lol. uhh i dont have a lot of Fun Facts abt the unicorn chronicles but for the longest time i thought there were only 3 books and then last year i found the fourth book by chance in a kitsch store and nearly had a breakdown i was so happy, like full on i started shaking and crying cause there was so much joy in my body i cldnt contain it.

Anyway onto ACTUAL IDEA STUFF HOORAY

So when Dutch and Hosea decided to adopt, they agreed they wanted to take in kids who needed good homes the most, so they were specifically looking for older kids who would probably age out of the system and wind up on the streets

They met Arthur who was a clearly depressed and gender non conforming thirteen year old who hated everyone and everything and wasn’t getting the Love he Deserved, and Dutch was like “I want THAT ONE, with the SAD EYES”

Arthur tried to push them away at first, cuz he absolutely didn’t trust anyone, and some part of him believed they’d just give him right back up for adoption if he disappointed them in any way. But he eventually learned that they were good guys who really just wanted to help him, and they weren’t gonna abandon him if he wasn’t the perfect kid they always wanted

(he probably told them about this fear eventually and Hosea just snorted and was like “if we wanted a perfect kid we woulda got a cabbage patch doll. something that wouldn’t scream or make a mess” and Dutch was like “yeah! or like a 27 year old with a job and their own house and kids of their own. pre-made grandkids” and Hosea was like “or a cat” and Arthur was like “...okay”)

Anyway it took a loooong time but Arthur eventually trusted them enough to come out to them as trans, without really knowing the proper words for everything, just knowing that He Is A Boy And That’s That. As much as Hosea is the one the lads go to to talk about stuff and get comfort and Wise Dad Advice, he probably told Dutch first bc he was more uncertain how he’d respond and he wanted to get it over with in the worst way possible.... like, if they were gonna react badly, heap all the bullshit on in one fell swoop

I imagine he did it off the cuff too, in response to something Dutch said, like Dutch was like “u get back here right now young lady” and Arthur was like “first of all I’m not a lady, I’m a BOY, and second of all FUCK you, I do what I WANT” and Dutch was like “groovy. you’re grounded.” Arthur was like (offended) “don’t say groovy... don’t try to be hip” and Dutch was like “no it’s totally tubular that ur a boy. It’s absolutely funky. You’re fucking grounded though”

Then he went and told Hosea like “congrats! it’s a boy” and they helped him transition and they didn’t tolerate a single person misgendering him the whole time. Like before he’s even begun transitioning, they’re literally at the doctors office to discuss it w/ their doc for the first time, and a nurse is like “ms. morgan?” And Dutch is like “INCORRECT” and the doctor is like “what seems to be the problem (deadname)?” and Dutch is like “FOOL! THIS CHILD WAS LABELED INACCURATELY, WE REQUIRE A GENDER RETRACTION” and Hosea’s like “please stop yelling”

Anyway probably about a year later they got John when he was ten and Arthur was fifteen. Arthur was a little bit jealous like, wow, am I not enough kid for u, but Dutch and Hosea always planned on getting at least two bc they wanted them to have siblings, and they know John came from a pretty abusive situation, so Arthur can’t be too mad at him. At least until he met John and realized what a fucking brat he is

Since John was younger and way more desperate for affection, he immediately loved Dutch and Hosea just bc they were nice to him, he was ready to call them his dads within the month but he was nervous that it was too soon and they’d be weirded out. But I imagine he got triggered by something and had a meltdown and they got to see just a glimpse of what he’d been through, and Dutch and Hosea were falling over themselves trying to comfort him and tell him they love him and now I’m making myself cry :’^(

Anyway... from that point on John was like “these are the only dads I’ve ever had and I would kill a man for them.” He gets in trouble quite a bit bc he’s Naughty, but Dutch and Hosea always make sure to punish him fairly and never yell or be physically intimidating with him or permanently take away his stuff, like they make him do chores to earn back the right to use the xbox or something. And they always explain to him exactly what he did wrong and why he’s being punished and talk to him about how he can make it better or what he can do next time, or if there’s a root problem, like he’s acting out bc he’s overwhelmed with school work or smthn, how they can help him. Especially after he gets diagnosed with ADHD

And of course they do all this with Arthur too, but they make a special concerted effort with John bc he’s The Baby :^) and Dutch somehow maintains an attitude of “idk what ur talking about, John has never done anything wrong ever in his life” every time he gets in trouble meanwhile Hosea is like “what do you MEAN, he’s a GREMLIN” fjfjfhhf

Arthur was probably diagnosed with depression and anxiety at some point... it was probably a long process to get him to even admit he had a problem bc he didnt wanna bother anyone... Arthur also probably came from an abusive situation from the way canon Arthur talks about his dad, but Arthur is much more the type to be like “i’m gonna keep all my feelings inside, and then one day, i’ll die” whereas John is like “i will SCREAM if i get a papercut”

Dutch is “Dad” and Hosea is “Papa” or “Pa” or “Pops” or “Dad, No Not You, The Other One” or “Other Dad.” Hosea really doesn’t mind at all, he wouldn’t care if the kids called him Hosea or mom or anything else, it truly isnt important to him. But Dutch Loves being Dad. Every time they call Dutch Dad he grows three times stronger and 10 years are added to his lifespan. Dutch is an Alpha Parent, he 100% goes to every parent teacher conference and bake sale, he’d go to every game and concert too if either of his kids had a single athletic or musical bone in their dumb little bodies. I guess the school probably hosts art galleries sometimes to display art the kids make, Arthur always has a drawing in one of those, and Dutch will absolutely go just to brag about his cool son.

Dutch is the Fun Energetic Dad who embarrasses the boys in front of their friends but can always be talked into taking them out to get ice cream. Hosea is the more quietly anxious dad, he makes sure they do their homework and keep their rooms clean and shit, and he's the one the kids always go to talk to when they’re having problems... like Arthur will rant for an hour and a half about high school drama and Hosea will patiently listen to all of it and when he's done he’ll offer to kick the other kids’ asses for him, and Arthur’s like lmao but Hosea Means It.

Hosea is also the one the kids go to for help on their homework because Hosea and Dutch have five brain cells between them, and four of them belong to Hosea. Dutch is like “suddenly I don’t remember basic math, time to make shit up” and Hosea is like “I must become an expert on 1820s Chinese history in two days for my beautiful sons”

The teacher Molly is TA for is Charles Chatenay, an all-grades art teacher who takes his job WAY too seriously, like dude chill they’re high schoolers. His class is where Arthur met Albert, bc Arthur loves drawing and obviously Albert loves photography. They were both like “wow he’s cute” but were too shy to talk to each other for more than basic pleasantries, until one day Albert’s Big Project was ruined a day or two before he was gonna turn it in, and Arthur helped him fix it.

Charles and Lenny go stay with Charles’s mom all the time, in fact she was around so much when they were younger that she practically helped raise them both. maybe she gets a gf and Charles and Lenny have so many moms and are so loved & cherished like they fuCKIN DESERVE

Kieran is the weird horse girl at school, he’s Lenny’s age, they become friends when they’re forced to sit next to each other and they’re both too awkward and shy to say anything until they’re paired up on a project together bc everyone else in the class already paired up and they were the only ones left gjkhfd.... Dagny's family is a lot smaller, but they also put a lot into holidays, they're Scandinavian too, after all. As for birthdays, Dagny's she has to share with her twin brother Kalle, which is kind of annoying but also means that her mother can really put a lot into that day in a way they might not be able to if it was two days, so it works out. Her mother makes marzipan for them every year

Winona's family is just her and her dad, and they don't really have many holidays to celebrate because they're not religious, but when they do participate in one they're normally visiting someone else. They'll often be at the foster home or with the Berkowitz' or if it's a city celebration they'll go wherever the festivities are. Birthdays are special, and for Winona's, her dad will buy her a cake and make some poke and let her invite whoever she wants, as long as she warns him about how many are coming. So there will be her friends from school and their families and everyone from the foster home and all the local farmers, cause she's friends with all them too, and people will bring their own food normally like a potluck and all hang out in the backyard together. It's very fun

For Elin, idk if this counts because it's not something she did exactly but she regrets that she doesn't know her dad. Maybe we could also say she regrets that she never connected to her Romani culture when she was younger, because she feels very left behind now

Dagny regrets being so mean in school. She was dealing with a lot when she was a teenager and it came out as aggression and she said a lot of things to a lot of people that really didn't deserve it and she wishes she didn't do that and is shocked sometimes that she still has friends that she made in that time in her life

Winona doesn't normally bother with regrets, like I really can't think of one thing she would really, truly regret

Well yes, everyone has an accent by some definition, anyway. Elin is Danish, she has a Danish accent. Similarly, Dagny has a Norwegian accent. Winona mostly has a New England accent but there's also a hint of Hawaiian in there that she picked up from her dad

Elin's needs context to be appreciated but I think it's the one when she was being harassed by a nazi and he told her she looked Romani (in different words) and she said "And you look like a pig, since we're stating the obvious." I thought that was very big strap energy of her.

Dagny has only appeared in two chapters so far but my pick for her would be when her friends call her mother mental and point out that she talks to plants and Dagny says "It's not as if she thought they'd reply... And besides, being a woman in this world is a madness of it's own, not that I'd expect any of you to understand!"

Winona has many, but possibly a top moment is when she was eight and she got to talk to her grandmother on the phone for the first time and she was so excited, and then her grandma misgendered her dad to her (her dad is trans and his mom was abusive to him but he wanted to give Winona the chance to know her still) by calling him her mom and she argued with her about it, and when grandma wouldn't relent she just hung up. Just like that. And when she gave the phone back to her dad, he asked how it went and she just said, "I don't like her much. I think I don't need a grandma." And that was that. She never asked to call her again.

Hi! I noticed you have they/them as your pronouns and I was just curious (because same) how I should, when it’s safe - of course- and respectful to do so, correct people when they use the wrong pronouns and also tell new people about how to address me? It’s genuinely not something awful when I’m called she/her but when I’m close enough to people, i try to bring it up. Except my issue is I can hardly manage to correct someone when they mispronounce my actual name (accidentally)..ahh. I’m shy :(

hi! i’m sorry it took me so long to answer this ask b

i don’t actually have the most experience with correcting people when they use she/her for me; the only place where i exclusively use they pronouns is here, with my closest friends, and in definitively lgbtq+ spaces? but at this point All of my closest friends use either they/them, they/she, or he/him pronouns (side note: he/him wlw i would fight and die for you), so i have a bit of practice correcting pronouns for other people? 

that’s maybe the easiest way i can think of to correct pronouns-to have a person or two you’re closer with at school or work or in your family (depending on which contexts are applicable and which are safe for you!) support you by reminding other people of the right pronouns? me, my gf, and our best friend miles all work together, and miles exclusively uses they/them; they also has anxiety, so once they were ready to be out at work, we just started using they pronouns for them all the time, even in conversations with other folks. bc they weren’t always easily able to correct people! something we would do a lot is repeat back things people said that misgendered them, but with the right pronouns? so if someone said “yeah, is a really hard worker” i might say “yeah, they are” back? it’s sometimes a lot easier standing up for other people than yourself, at least in my experience.

that kinda pre-supposes you having trusted people who are good about pronouns, though! so. i think another good way to get people used to pronouns besides he and she is to use a friend as an example, if you have other friends who use they/them pronouns? like if the friend is okay with it you can discuss them or mention stories including them, and use they/them pronouns the whole time, or even be like “oh yeah, my friend so and so uses they/them pronouns bc they’re . that can kind of get people more used to they/them pronouns and give you a chance to feel out if a situation is fully safe to be out in? and you can start training people to do better with respecting your friend’s pronouns, first. (if you don’t have any other friends who use they/them feel free to send me a message sometime, b,or if that’s too scary you can just call me ur friend/use me as an example as a blogger or something!). it’s a bit easier to segway into “i also use they/them pronouns” if someone already has a frame of reference for what that means! 

another good thing that can push through awkwardness is to just be aggressively normal about things? like it’s maybe even a thing you could practice while alone or with a friend you’re already out to. but like being like “hi, i’m , my pronouns are they/them!” having a friend or friends that you’re out to helps with that kind of normalization, because you can have your friends introduce themselves with pronouns, too, if it’s an option. it can work in conversation if someone misgenders you, too- like if you’re there and someone says she or her or girl or woman in reference to you, just be like “i use they,not she” or them not her (i also love unit as a replacement for boy or girl and person works as a replacement for woman or man) in a casual normal way and if they start being all apologisey and focusing it on how baaaaAaAaAd they feel being like “you don’t have to draw attention to it by apologizing, just try to do better!” i know none of that is easy to do, at ALL, but if you’e able to practice it might help?

since starting work at my practicum, I’ve discovered that in a lot of nonprofits and more progressive business settings, people have started including their pronouns in email signatures, even cis folks, to try normalizing introducing introductions that include pronouns? idk if that’s applicable to you though!

something that helped me start to be braver when i was younger - and hear me out on this! - was pretending to be not myself? like, i did a lot of theater when i was younger, that’s part of where i got the idea for like.. “acting” in situations that weren’t necessarily theater? but i also did so with a fandom spin. like, i had to get blood drawn in my senior year and it super is not a thing i like at all? and at the time i was a huge s*pernatural fan, so was like “be brave like the w*nchesters be brave like the w*nchesters you can do this” and it actually helped. sometimes when i’m trying to get past the aggressive salespeople at the mall kiosks (they’ve gotten me before i bought a lotion) i try walking like the winter soldier from marvel movies and putting off “don’t fuck with me” vibes. i was starting to get anxious during the SATs writing section and was like “it’s okay be like hermione” and like.. i don’t necessarily do that with specific characters anymore in such a strong way? 

but i do still sometimes let myself lean into different versions of myself where i focus on a different trait or different version of who i am and let that be how the world sees me? at my practicum i work with a group of young lgbtq+ folks and i’m not gonna lie, i was super fucking anxious on my first day! but i leaned into my stage-manager-self and letting myself perform being confident and capable and sure of myself in a no-nonsense kind of way? stage-manager-energy for me also has slightly different body language-i stand different, i carry something to take notes on sometimes. props help sdjfklsjd. but that let me have a false confidence when first meeting these kids, and it eventually turned into real confidence? and i wasn’t being fake about who i am in a way that would eventually come back to bite me, bc it was just a stretch of the truth not a disney channel original movie disaster lie?

or like, sometimes when im feeling dysphoric or anxious about the way i choose for the world to see me i’ll wear more black than i usually do and do my best to live my truth and take comfort in the fact that dan would be proud of me. hm. i’m getting on a bit of a tangent here but it’s something that’s helped me be more confident a lot over the years? being good to myself because i know it’s what a character or person i’m a fan of or know in real life and love very much would want for me?

also something that helps for me for having hard conversations with close friends is like.. sometimes having them by text even if we’re in the same room? typing can be so much easier than talking. a format for saying that could be saying “hey, i started to use they/them pronouns online and i actually am a lot more comfortable with that than she/her, could you start using they/them for me in ? 

oh also i’m fairly certain there’s probably nonbinary youtubers out there who might have better advice than me about this specific subject? my gf actually watches a lot more youtube than me - i only watch dnp, but they watch a ton of different folks including ash hardell? and from what ive seen ash might have some kind of video more helpful than my big ol ramble.

i hope some or all of this helped? it’s a tough thing that i’m still really learning to navigate for myself instead of just as a support to friends, so i’m not sure how much of this is anything at all, but i hope that something in here was worthwhile and if you ever wanna come back and chat again, on anon or off, i’d be happy to listen to you

wooooow my classmates were little pieces of shit today & i’m like. fucking livid.

first, one of the two normie cishet girls i go to lunch with managed to clock the trans guy in the new class & then told the other about it, & i was just like. sitting there in the car trying to figure out what the fuck & why the fuck this needed to be happening. (he’s a dude i vaguely know bc he works at the tattoo shop & i follow him on instagram.) & the girl that was just learning this information (same as the “i’ve never met a jew” girl) goes, “wait, so he’s female?” & i was just instantly like “NO he is male” “but he used to be female?” “NOPE HE’S MALE” like really awkwardly Struggling to figure out what to do but sure as shit not wanting to let them Do That. eventually i just said he was assigned female at birth bc i did not want to have this whole conversation unprepared sitting here in this car with two 21-year-olds. for what it’s worth the reason it came up is bc the girl telling the story had misgendered him out of his earshot & was feeling really bad about it, so like. she vaguely tried i guess, but also failed at the same time lol.

Do mobile read notes work? Guess I’m about to find out because I feel like anyone who pays attention to anything I post might be doing some big worries. So yeah. And despite knowing I don’t owe explanations my brain is urging me to explain my thought process anyway, idk maybe for my own peace of mind? And also because I don’t like the idea of someone potentially seeing me as overdramatic because I have one failed attempt at making an appointment at a PP clinic for HRT and yeah anyway more under the cut if it even works.

So if anyone is worried first I wanna say, I’m... managing. I can’t say I’m fine because I’m hanging on by a thread to be honest. I’m at least not as unhappy as I was living with my mom because attempts have been made to use my name l/pronouns. More effort anyway than was being put in while with my mom.

While that helps obviously it’s not a fix it all. I’m still misgendered constantly to the fact I frequently doubt myself until I put myself in theoretical situations that cause dysphoria. Thanks brain.

That doesn’t sound like a lot I guess but there’s a lot of steps for all of them and there have been endless obstacles. My little brother is doing amazingly with all of these goals. He has his license, he has his own car, he’s been living on his own since he was 16, he has a stable job, and he’s self sufficient. He’s taking his GED tests soon and I’m just sitting here wondering how the fuck he did it when I can barely call and make myself a fucking appointment.

I am having a hard time finding a job because I don’t know anyone who babysits free. We can’t afford childcare for us both to work. Because of my limited availability people won’t hire me. They’re gonna hire the guy with open availability. They’re also going to hire the guy with more experience.

So I tried focusing on a therapist. That didn’t go over very well. I had several reccomended to me. I emailed, called, and left voicemails. Nothing. I guess none of them are available. I’ve been trying to find a therapist since before I left Texas and I’m having the worst go of it. It’s discouraging because my mental health feels like it’s just steadily declining and it sucks.

My husband works all day everyday. He doesn’t have weekends because on his days off work, he’s going to school. He’s almost never home, I’m lonely. I have no friends to visit and for some reason have been extremely apprehensive to reach out to my online friends because I know I’m depressive and probably exauhsting, and my anxiety keeps telling me that most of them are distancing themselves from me to begin with and if they’re doing that then o should probably leave them alone and let them approach me instead whenever they’re ready.

I lost a potentially good friend over a misunderstanding because I thought she was criticizing me and got upset instead of stepping back and thinking about the whole thing rationally. I don’t like myself.

I don’t have any transportation and I don’t know who to call in this town for ged stuff and even if I did I couldn’t go to classes because once again we can’t afford child care and my husband works all the time. I also don’t have the money to get to the classes even if I could take them anyway.

Can’t afford to take another drivers ed course to get my permit/ license. Can’t get a job, can’t get the help I need, I’m lonely, and I can’t even make and appointment for myself.

I’m trying not to be so negative, and I’m trying to have a positive outlook but after so long it’s hard to do. I feel like I’m just wasting precious energy in stuff that might never happen

And I feel like the “professionals” won’t even give me a second glance because I’m “functional” because I’m not a danger to myself or anyone else. “”I don’t need help””

And that’s depressing.
