Got curious abt my bndori gender hc ratios so I quickly cooked up a grossly over simplified tier list to compare

Man i just.Why do DC fans prioritize trans Jason over the actual representation in his story.Yes yes yes he has tons of transmasc swag so there's this he/they weird goth tboy so true but in CANON,almost all his important people are poc or women and every one of his love interests is BOTH and they're......completely erased in trans Jason headcanons,as if they can't perfectly co-exist

Btw this is a joke (well sort of) so don’t take any of my stereotype arguments too seriously. Although I do genuinely think most of these characters are gay.

1. Frodo- Frodo is gayest the character. He’s constantly described as queer, his deepest connection is with Sam and their relationship is incredibly romance coded. Plus he reads poetry all the time, wears his sparkly elvish top and that fall in Return of the King movie? Homosexual. Not to mention he has THE gay haircut. Man looks like a starbucks barista. Sam- although more masculine than Frodo and also bi Sam has the second most Gay EnergyTM. He’s a bit overemotional he spends the entire series simping over Frodo and is obsessed with flowers and poetry. When his wife dies he leaves his kids to spend eternity with his husband and the elves. Gay behavior

Legolas- Legolas is a petty drama queen and I love that for him. Loves his dwarf husband. Just look at his hair-no straight man cares that much about their hair. Gay gay gay.

i did hear about this. i wish i could stop hearing about this. the tl;dr of my thoughts on this pitch: it fucking sucked.

ive written out more in-depth thoughts here, a little here, plus got a cap of her saying some egregious bullshit (in my opinion) on twitter here. overall though my thoughts are "jesus fucking CHRIST this pitch was written by a white woman with christian religious trauma who doesn't know how to write about anyone other than herself". the red hair streak was literally just how she had her own hair.

Ames (She/Her, trans lesbian) - I think Amy presents p stealth! I think she knew she was trans from a young age and she's been presenting femininely since she was very very little. I made a post joking abt silly gender differences in sth (no back quills, small nose, etc) and I headcanon that those traits come from Amy being half-echidna so its like. ajdjsndnd gender win. The traits you were born with also coincide with hedgehog mobian gender binary??JFJSNFNN

I don't think Amy keeps her trans identity a complete secret, she loves being trans and she's proud of how she's tested fate and made her life her own, but I also think it does play a role in how she navigates her personal/romantic relationships (comphet to trans lesbian is what I was thinking of?)

Rouge: (She/Her, transfem lesbian also) - I talked abt Rouge and gave her a silly little backstory in that one post but I'll go over it again a little here: I think Rouge grew up pretty isolated in a small village with her family. She felt very trapped in the ideas that she felt like she had to follow the footsteps in. She felt like she was a side character in her own life because she's always had to ask for permission and think of the family's sleezy gem store/pawn shop before her own wants and needs. Landing that government job somehow was her ticket to finally spreading her wings and flying freeeee baby. She knew there was somth about herself and the way she dressed, talked and looked that didn't quite fit her, and although she didn't have a word for it, she assumed a new identity while working for G.U.N. and went like. full throttle on her transition. She didn't want anybody from her old village to recognize her. She's not listening to their complaints and desires anymore. She lives for herself, now. I think she has some trust issues relating to her past experiences which makes her hold onto Shadow and Omega so closely, and something about them also being queer brings them even closer to her. Can you tell Rouge has been rotating the fastest in my head

Metal - (It/She/They, sapphic demi-girl) -Metal is a fucking egg please saVE HERRRR. LISTEN OK. sissel: he's a cat he doesn't know what a gender is, BUT. he was a female cat during his ten years living with yomiel (hence why he was named after yomiel's fiance). after thinking he was yomiel for a while he just. kept seeing himself as male afterwards and everyone else did too. this cat accidentally got his gender transed

lynne: a sillygirl. a sunshinegirl. a boyfriendgirl. a deadguygirl. perhaps even a puppygirl. just nonbinary woman works too though. does no sort of physical transition

missile: dog

jowd: trans man, started transitioning in like his early-mid 20s. decided to pause his medical transition to carry his and alma's child despite his dysphoria, he wouldn't do it again but he's never regretted it. now is on t and has top and bottom surgery

alma: trans woman that's also a man but not and doesn't have any gender. oh and a bit multigender. usually not genderfluid though. don't worry about it do you want chicken she's ordering some for her family. started having Gender Weirdness as a high schooler and eventually was peaceful with her gender not making sense to anyone else, because it doesn't need to! fluctuating dysphoria but the body is usually worse than social. has been on and off e throughout the years and has bottom surgery

kamila: a budding sapphic who eventually blooms into a butch lesbian. yes as her gender. also has many xenic girl varieties like her sister and general gender weirdness like her mom

cabanela: yeah i have no idea what's going on here. he simultaneously feels Very Cisgender and Very Transgender to me. idk what he is we just need to acknowledge he kind of sucks more. and that can include him being cis. either way he does drag and this is important to his gender despite not being a woman in any way

pigeon man: trans man, started transitioning within the year he quit his job at the police force. he's only binary in the sense that he doesn't give a shit about finding labels besides "man". on t with no surgeries and doesn't plan on any. everything about his transition in all three timelines is identical to the minute somehow.

yomiel: it's... complicated. he was a trans man who came out in his mid-late teens, and was on t with top surgery when he died. he had a bit of a thing about being a Normal Binary Passing Man, but being dead and unknowable with no human friends and a disconnect from his body for ten years really fucked with that. like all social conventions, he has trouble readjusting to gender in the new timeline, but he's started reconnecting with femininity and exploring more labels. mainly just says he's transmasc, still taking t.

fiansissel: trans woman with extra woman and a side of fries and dip. sorry i don't have more for you girl you have the potential to be so interesting just by being in love with yomiel but that's the *only* thing you had the time to be ingame

other random chars: memry is transfem, emma and the minister are painfully cis but supportive, amelie is a demigirl, park guy is some sort of nonbinary in an insane dollar store soda flavor way, bailey and his 'friend' are both cis but in a hand-wavey "not unpacking that" way

like the ethnicity post i really only have ideas about certain characters and the rest are up to whatever people think they are ^_^ i mean these are too, speculate whatever you want, but heres my interpretation of a few characters

joner: aroace. romance-neutral. this is all self projection on my part, i think joner as a character just prefers friendships to relationships and romance would make him uncomfortable but hes very supportive of others. he/him (impartial to she/her though)

scary: aromantic and unlabeled otherwise. romance-repulsed AND she's a hater about it. she/he/they

kelly: always been transfem somehow to me. transhet. they/them and VERY occasionally they/she, really depends on the mood

michela: bigender boygirl but doesn't really talk about it, especially in those words. would date whoever but high preference for dudes. would label her preference for guys as either straight or gay depending on the context. she/her

courtney: calls themselves non-binary for binary people but it's more complicated than that. sapphic with an itty bitty tiny like for guys they they're still sorting out (is it platonic? romantic? they don't know) . they/them

ass: doesn't care. doesn't know. definitely not cis but a part of it is just not wanting to be like other girls. has a lot of self-doubt over their identity and actually tends to move through labels quite quickly, so they use they/them as a catch-all neutral

max: i had a hard time with this one in terms of good rep and stuff like that, but i think it's safe for me to say max is a pretty binary trans guy. more or less transhet but hes more flexible when it comes to michela's identity. he/him

scruffy: transmasc lesbian and that was always the intention tee bee ach ^_^ they/them but sometimes they/he if they feel like it

fren: gay and definitely not cis but he's very mysterious about it. he/him

bonnie: like courtney also tells binary people that they're non-binary out of convenience, but they definitely don't feel like the term really fits them. not fem not masc not androgynous but something new entirely (goth). on a more serious note i do think the gender fuckery in the goth subculture made them realize a lot of things about themself when they first got into it. also a frequent label-changer when it comes to sexuality. they/them

patrick: unironically too obsessed with himself to be into anyone else in a romantic way /j. hes bad aro representation. hed slay in a QPR tho. he/him

julia: lesbian but she hasnt come to terms with it yet lol. i agree w the headcanons that shes aspec in some regard but havent put much thought into it. she/her

kitty: pan but adverse to romantic relationships. some kind of gender. also a furry i dont think ive mentioned it yet but they have a fursona and made patrick make one too. therres a canon patrick fursona in my notes. no set pronouns, tells people to use whatever

peter: bi and trans guy. tends to prefer girls and feminine presenting people for the most part! he/him

I don't know what sha-mod and mclovin are but they're definitely something. same with caesar, idk what's going on there but he's definitely not cishet.

I definitely need to write albert, phillip, and noco more to get a good feel for them. and everyone else i dont have any strong feelings on

Trans Bloodborne Headcannons

When I said I think they’re all trans I meant that literally.

The Good Hunter: Enby. Seek paleblood transend gender. Specifically I think they’re genderfluid but tend to stick around the outskirts of the binary.

The Doll: Agender, baby!!!! Doesn’t really have an identity of their own but they’re working on it! The first part of that process was figuring out that they’re not what everyone calls them.

Gehrman: Gehrman is a closeted transfem. I believe

Laurence: Incredibly transmasc to me but I can see him not really labling it, he’s too busy being evil.

Micolash: He couldn’t explain it to you. I feel like if Mic was introduced to xenopronouns or neopronouns he’d use some of those. Probably xe/xem from the ones I know (if you have a neopronoun you think mic would use comment bellow!!).

Rom: Thought she was cis until she became a big spider and realised gender was kinda silly.

Alright, here you go, this is Dame Cookie

So full disclosure, I don’t know what gender Dame Cookie is. My three ideas are that Dame’s a guy that likes to wear dresses, non binary, or a trans woman. All I know is that Dame isn’t a cis woman. But for the sake of the thing, I’ll just stick with nonbinary

Edit: so I’ve finally decided that Dame is transfem, and will be editing the post as such, though I may forget some

So I was originally going to name her after shortcake, like Berry Shortcake, but then I remembered, both Princess and Knight are named after things, so why not do the same here? I chose Dame because it was the closest match I could find for a female knight. But she is still based on shortcake

Shortcake:

The design’s fine, but I swear, something about the proportions is off. Or the hair. Or maybe both. Also the sketch looks weird. Oh well. But yeah, my main references for her were Kouign Amann and Wildberry, as well as Princess for the dress. My whole idea was just “princess knight” for her. But what got me to finally draw her was me looking for references for my sketch dump and finding one of someone with a giant lance, and I basically went “I want that”. I gave her yellow hair just for the shortcake bit, and I changed it from Knight’s blonde just because I thought it looked a bit weird on her. And that it blended too much with the armor. I think I might have made the lance too small? It’s supposed to be really oversized. All in all, like I said, the design’s fine, but it’s not entirely what I was picturing in my head. Though then again, I think the picture in my head was that of a human character, so maybe that’s part of it

So anyways, Dame Cookie isn’t too complicated. She’s a fighter, but not as much of an adventurer. I imagine she likes to take part in a lot of tournaments. She’s also very friendly and easy to get along with. Oh, and another thing, Dame is pretty damn big. Like, she towers over their parents, and she’s also ridiculously strong, given she can throw their oversized lance at high speeds with ease. I imagine a scenario in which someone new in town hears of a young royal called Dame Cookie, and they imagine a dainty young girl, only to meet her in person (perhaps in a tournament) and find out Dame Cookie looks nothing like what they thought. But despite her fighting and physique, she also very much likes doing stuff like wearing fancy dresses and going to balls and such

Hmm, I wonder, would Dame have worked better as a darkknight fankid? I mean, mostly because of the large size and incredible strength probably fitting in better with Dark Choco’s family, and the fact that the colors work just as good with him too. Although at the same time, I doubt she’d wear frilly dresses or have her name be Dame Cookie…hm. Oh well, that’s not one of my requests yet, so who knows?

But yeah, that’s Dame Cookie. Hope you like her!

my hot take is that if they were gonna genderbend a character to be non-binary in the good omens show, it should’ve been newt. first of all, we need human non-binary characters so cmon. secondly, their name is already non-binary as fuck, trans ppl love amphibians.

they work as nonbinary transmasc or transfem, and i think you could get some funny gags out of shadwell being unfazed by transness once newt proves they’re not a witch. there’s room for a joke about the stereotype of trans women being computer scientists. anathema has such queer vibes it would make sense to make newt queer too. i think it would be funny to have a canonically non-binary character who’s just a bit of a loser and still gets the girl, and it would’ve played better to a modern audience than with a cis guy (i’ve seen a lot of ppl complain about their relationship both in the book and show and even though i personally like newt i get it.) anyways, this concludes my propaganda for trans newt, thanks for coming to my ted talk

i have this incredibly specific headcanon that aira had a phase where he went super hard into being a trans Woman but detransitioned after like a couple months, and is now gnc.

like not too long after he becomes an idol hes struggling a lot with his blossoming sense of adolescent identity and clear insecurity-complex, and of course he's in Ensemble Square which is full of gay people, and he's online a lot too in queer twitter communities and it kinda all accumulates into him thinking, MAYBE I AM A WOMAN? so he tries it.

but he has this very narrow and specific idea of what it means to Be Transgender, and to Be a Transwoman by extension, so he just throws himself in the deep end and goes full social & clothing transition immediately. tatsumi and mayoi are supportive (tatsumi is an Ally and mayoi is genderqueer in some form) and this is probably hiiro's first introduction to it but he doesnt care either and is enthusiastically supportive. pretty much everyone he knows is on board with it (except subaru and hokuto are weird about it probably but who cares about them). the Pretty 5 are overjoyed and help by taking him shopping, Arashi especially.

but while aira has an initial euphoric burst of freedom by doing this he very quickly feels very WRONG. but hes fucking committed to it now and like he knows hes not a dude, right?, and he doesnt want to be NonBinary (which is a single third gender identity and not an umbrella term at all, as everyone knows /s). and like, he does like wearing skirts sometimes, and long socks are cute. and he was already kinda feminine, he is ALKALOID's Cute One. so he's probably just not feeling anything at all and he isn't going to address it.

but arashi can fucking tell something is off and tries talking to him. he deflects and denies everything and at someone else bringing it up he only doubles down.

he is wearing FEMALE MAKEUP now! he is looking at tutorials on youtube on how to apply makeup just-so, so he can look like the Cis-Like and Conforming Trans Woman he is. and he is OWNING IT, he is a Girlboss and is now making Activist Twitter Posts talking about his transfem (because that isn't its own thing, either, it's just a synonym for trans Woman! also /s) experience which he is now suddenly an expert on.

and he is fucking miserable just having trapped himself into another stupid binary and now eichi is accounting for this in StarPro's marketing or whatever and now all of ALKALOID's fans are getting it into their heads about being special trans allies and all these things are happening and and and and.

mika tentatively comes up to him one day. he says that hes too nervous to go to pretty 5 or arashi about it, as irrational as it is considering it's fucking arashi, but he just wants aira's help to like, try on some skirts or something like he sees aira doing. no strings attached it doesnt mean anything, just to try.

aira is trying not to have a meltdown in the store while he waits for mika in the changing room. writing twitter posts with hands sweatier than they are after a live is one thing but having to physically be there and act as this ideal image of THE Trans Woman feels like he's standing there waiting for an axe to swing at his fucking head and that it's going to happen any second now. he gets these chills all down his back like some creepypasta character is about to get him. (he's still scared of the creepypastas).

mika says that he thinks the skirt is cute on him, but that he doesn't think he likes it. he says he doesn't know. he says that he doesn't like how it impedes on his masculinity.

"isn't that the point, though? you wanted to be a girl?" aira asks, hair actually wet with how much he's sweating.

"no... nyaghhhg, i don't wanna be a girl. i didn't think just putting it on would make me one, but if it does then i don't wanna wear it anymore."

aira thinks that is a weird fucking thing to say because of course if you're trying on skirts and trying to be feminine it means you're trying to be a transgirl, and he also thinks that if he has to hear mika talk for a second longer he's going to explode from fucking anger. he doesn't think to question why he's so angry, but he says something snappy at mika and it makes mika give up so it all works out and he can go home.

hiiro can tell aira isn't doing well but hiiro can go fuck himself for all aira cares. aira can't even practice anymore, he's just getting angrier and angrier with each day.

eventually he tears off all his clothes in a rage and throws out all his makeup, even the ones he'd been using before his transition. rei comes into their dorm and is alarmed to find aira burning a pile of clothes in the middle of the room. he's attempted to protect the carpet by putting it on top of cardboard. rei has to use the fire extinguisher.

after aira's calmed down a bit rei laughs out of nowhere. aira asks him what. rei says that he thinks aira is the first amab trans guy he's met. aira says he's had enough of all these fucking labels. rei asks if he wants him to inform eichi for him, in regards to the marketing. aira says yeah, thank you...

with touch of feather, aira grows more comfortable in his own skin.

sometime later, mika nervously announces to the pretty 5 that he's genderqueer. arashi helps him come out, and the rest express their support. tori says welcome to the club. (aira wonders how he didn't already know this about tori.)

"in what way?" aira asks mika after congratulating him.

"errr..." mika looks confused for a moment before realisation dawns on his face. "oh. nah, just genderqueer. i don't like all those expectations 'n all that. i just wanna do whatever feels right. that's what humans are, ain't it? just a lotta nonsense feelings."

"oh," says aira.

in retrospect, aira supposes that arashi isn't completely gender conforming and hyper-feminine either. and later, after he and hiiro get together (finally), he asks hiiro if he was still interested in him while he was trans. hiiro says yeah, he doesn't see why that would affect it, and really he was worried about him more than anything else. before aira can make some inquiry about his hometown, hiiro continues that he's been talking a lot to the other idols, so he knows a bit about the city's queer labels (and the variance & nuance in identity) now, and that he's bisexual --- well, he doesn't really like calling himself the labels very much, but that it's the best way to communicate it. aira says huh. he wasn't really expecting to hear that from him.

i think after all that aira would be comfortable just being gnc occasionally, and not worry too hard about being a Boy or a Girl.

Oh I have SO much to say on all of this thank you so much for asking and noticing. (There are some book spoilers here so I will put a small * at the start for people who haven't read them. General spoilers are marked with ** :] )

Lockwood:

He's a stealth trans man and has hit a point in his transition where it's no longer at the forefront of his mind

He used to hate that he couldn't wear a binder on cases (he still did it at times) but I think he firmly has top surgery now. I have two headcanons about him getting top surgery, actually, though one is more of a joke

One is that Inspector Barnes managed to get it under DEPRAC insurance because binding was seen as inhibiting his ability to do cases

The other is that he once got a case that paid well and used the money from it to get top. He didn't think to tell anyone and returned one day with the drains in the pockets of his greatcoat completely high off painkillers

** His parents and sister never knew about him being trans and that makes him upset sometimes

He is a binary trans man, though I use the transmac flag for my icon (slightly altered colours) because I am. He used he/him pronouns

He's asexual to me as well

He's straight in a respecting women way and definitely in a bi wife way. With mentioning that...

Lucy

I'm gonna go off on two tangents with this with transfem Lucy and afab non-binary Lucy because they both greatly appeal to me; I'll explain them in that order

I'm not really in the mood to get into much transphobia because I don't want to bring the tone down, but her mom was not supportive at all, though she heavily defied her mom in that regard and was out to her friends

* Her sisters were supportive too, as much as they could be under the guise of their mother, and her sister Mary would help out a lot

Norrie in the show probably fills a similar role

Once she left home and went to London she was excited by the prospect of finally getting to be herself and openly using her name with new people

She uses she/they pronouns

My afab nb Lucy heavily ties into trans Lockwood, actually

Basically Lockwood getting rid of his old binders and her asking for one just to see what it's like and realising she prefers the way she looks wearing one

Lockwood talks to her about it blah blah heartwarming stuff about looking after your body n such but being happy for her

Anyways I like both of these for different reasons

Here lucy uses they/she pronouns

Anyways she's also massively bisexual

Oh he's got he/they energy in the same way Cabinet Man or Touch-Tone Telephone by Lemon Demon do

He's been out for years, and is quite comfortable with the fact he's trans and doesn't mind people asking or telling people about it

The more comfortable he is around you the more he'll say

His parents were just chill with it too, and his brothers were delighted to "teach him" how to be a guy

Also side note congrats on your autism George. This doesn't really have anything to do with it but it's on my mind

He's just got that transmasculine swag and that's cool for him

I think he may be pansexual, or omnisexual

Flo

I don't have as much to say on Flo but I adore her and she deserves a spot

Anyway she uses she/they/any pronouns in a gender is a social construct way and is adamantly opposed

She tells people to get creative with the pronouns

** Holly

Absolutely a trans woman who loves being a woman I take no criticism on this

She likes being pretty and wearing nice clothes because it makes her feel euphoric

She's not stealth trans, but she likes people not being able to tell

She's pretty open with the people she trusts

* Another joke-y headcanon that I have is the real reason Lucy is jealous of Holly is because Holly is further through her transition

But they learn to bond over it

* Also she's a lesbian because "flatmate from Fittes" who is a girl as well as the whole "there are other possibilities in this world" line. Yeah she's heavily implied to be a lesbian in the books

Kipps

Maybe trans, maybe bisexual, may be just an ally. Idk, I don't think a lot about him

I can see him being a stealth trans man like Lockwood ngl

Hmm yes but I don't feel too strongly about a lot of em n don't really think about them a lot. But I definitely do !

Strong (actively influence how I view the character , the pronouns I use for them , etc . In my mind , this is how they are and I consider it basically canon) : Transmasc genderqueer Mafuyu who uses any pronouns (also I have this xenogender in my hoard that's like,, you copy the behaviors of fem-aligned people to be more fem-aligned in gender ?? or something like that ??? that too .) , queer genderfluid Rui who mainly uses all pronouns but sometimes his preference changes , librafeminine Ena who doesn't care about pronouns , transfem Mizuki (I don't feel they're a binary woman, to me they feel more non-binary with a femme presentation or some kind of sorta-fem sorta-nb gender, but they are 100% transfeminine. I just don't know how to describe the other gender stuff they have going on.)

Yeah I like these (I can see these and think of them occasionally. I'll sometimes mention em but they mostly live in the back of my brain and make me go "huh! yeah!" seeing people agree) : Transfem Shizuku (both tfem bigender but aaaalso just as a binary transwoman) , transfem Tsukasa , transfem Airi, trans man Akito , genderqueer Haruka , transfem Toya , genderqueer An

Oh bonus category for xenogenders : Ichika using music, space and vocaloid related ones as well as songic genders. Saki using star and music themed ones. Minori and ones with a clover, idol or song theme as well as a few songic too maybeee? Haruka with ones related to penguins n maybe blue In General. Tsukasa with star-themed ones. Emu with like Most soft , sweet , sugary , funky vibe genders. Rui with Fuck All (aka whatever the mess of My hoard is because hashtag projecting). Nene with robot and game themed ones. Ena with ones that relate to art, cuteness, etc. Mizuki with pink and/or ribbon themed genders. Is this a lot and is it vague Yes but there's so many that exist so idk giving off the vibes and recurring themes seems like Good Enough.

Token cis (sorry y'all /j) : Honami I just can't think of anything for her either she's some kind of Honami Is Honami non-binary that I can't quite describe or she's a cisgirl to me. She isn't hetero though nobody here is cis AND hetero c'mon this is COLORFUL stage. Oh also Emu despite having a lot of xenogender swag I feel would still identify a lot with being a girl n I hc her as cis. But also she has the most xenogender swag I've ever seen in a character so. Why i hc Chihiro as transfem (but also think that nb and transmasc hcs are pretty neat too!)

A few warnings first, since you're here to read it I recommend reading these paragraphs extra to avoid stress for you and me :)

To be honest I'm not posting my opinion with the intention of changing someone's opinion or starting some kind of debate, I just want to express my opinion and that's all. It's like a public diary, it's one of the definitions of a blog after all ^_^

This isn't exactly a theory or an attempt to change anyone's mind and I know that none of this is canon and most likely not intended as I see it. I'm just want to talk in more detail about my headcanons and my lines of thoughts on them.

I already made a post with a carrd and article about transfem Chihiro and I also made a post about what I disagree with, now I would like to make a post that would be the parts that I agree with carrd and more other opinions of mine about it. (I will mostly use she/her for Chihiro since I hc her as transfem)

I see a lot of people talking that they think Chapter 2 had great critics about gender stereotypes and... I have to disagree.

In my interpretation I understood that Chihiro thinks that feminine = weakness, fragile lack of strength and that's it. And then she wants to become strong by running away from everything feminine.

This thought was never refuted and it was never explicitly established that women can also be strong, we have Sakura but she is seen as an exception and still doubted that she is a (cis) woman.

About this part, it seems to me that the writers simply have this transphobic mindset and see trans people as insecure with their own gender (this art could explain it in better words) or think that trans people are lying to everyone about their gender (when in reality is opposite, we feel like we are lying when we are in the closet and saying we identify with agab)

Just like I said before, it feels like the transphobic mindset where trans people are lying and insecure and being "just a phase"

And Mondo is a great ally (yes he killed her but it wasn't out of transphobia but an attack of anger and stress) and tried his best to keep Chihiro's secret

One thing I see a lot is people saying that hc Chihiro as transfem is erasing her entire backstory but it's important to remember that her backstory is completely fictional and nothing like this has ever happened in real life. Chihiro doesn't exist, but the people (mostly trans) who relate to her (the transcoded part of the character, I mean) exist.

This is why many people "reclaim" or hc Chihiro as transfem, transmasc and/or nonbinary. Chihiro is a very transcoded character, whether intentionally or not.

Despite not having Chihiro's hc be non-binary or transmasc, I understand where they're coming from. I can only remember the song Am I a Girl by Poppy for the non-binary headcanon. And for transmasc it's a cool interpretation too (still has the problem but feminine=weak but I'm sure whoever has this hc re-imagines that part in a non-sexist way) where Chihiro kinda comes out of the closet in chapter 2 to Mondo and wants to be himself. As I said before, Chihiro is a very trans coded character, like it or not, then every interpretation that trans people have about this character is valid. People can relate to this in a lot of very different ways and that's ok.

To me, anything is more interesting and makes more sense than a cis man in the closet. This is too nonsense to me. I know there are many things in the game that are also nonsense but I have my personal limits like everyone else (Ps: Not saying that whoever has the hc of Chihiro being a cis man is invalid because this is canon lol, its just not my cup of tea)

In summary, I have this headcanon of her being transfem because from the beginning she is presented as a woman and in all the merchs she continues to be treated as such, so that's what makes the most sense to me. Maybe if it was established that feminine doesn't equal weakness, maybe she would stay the same. And just look at the picture of her with her dad! He supports her unconditionally! It's a very beautiful thing to see and makes me happy.

I like to look at this scene as if someone were misgendering her, she wouldn't mind.
