In my previous post i talked about how I have a lotta scrapped MV ideas, well may as well dump some designs i've made based on songs over the years because like I probably wouldn't post these otherwize

also heres a few nice picture of miku from one of em to make you click on this post because its gunna be a long one and all these are hidden below a read more

for the record don't expect me to do anything with any of these, also these are from old to new some of these date back to early 2022 and it shows

This one i posted a storyboard for actually its An Aliens I Love You by Utsu-P.

I gave young Rin a sakura motif with her dress because of miku and rin meeting under a sakura tree, teen miku has a pink ribbion and hairclip to continue this. both rins bow and mikus outfit get darker outfits overtime to sybolize the song getting darker. I also gave adult rin the future rin hair. Miku's "alien" form is more or less how its described in the song tho i was lazy and didn't draw the 4 arms in the refs.

also Lily is Rins mom in this yup there she is indeed.

I actually have a lot of assets finished including the ones above i may show em off one day who knows.

the grey one is when they talk about being colorless

i gave them both very cute and elegent outfits i think it matches the vibe of the song. The starry outfits are the real highlight. if you wonder how I drew em over and over i just copy pasted the stars on their dresses.

they also are very blue because yknow nocturne. I forgot if i dumped the assets for this MV or not maybe next rant post.

This one is Corona by Utsu-P no idea why i did it its probably not even in my top 20 Utsu-P songs i just had some brainworms that wore off. I finished like a minute of it I guess.

I really like rin's outfit. "goth metal astronaut" is such a weirdly specific concept but she absolutley nailed it. 10/10 desin

This one is Garando by Picon. I gave her a like idk what to call it paperboy outfit like the one you see in the MV a few times. her eyes are yellow like bullets because I had this one S teir visual idea. I have some assets for this one i may show off one day.

This one is NEXT NEST by Satsuki Ga Tenkomori. The cubes are from the original MV image thing. I gave her a super cybernetic look to match the song vibe. I also gave her a plaid skirt to match miku's concept desin because this song is like sorta miku becoming sentient or smth idk been a while since i read the lyrics.

This one is Bluff Liar by EZFG. VY1 doesn't really have a desin so I went with this based on the semi official one (we dont speak of her new official one also i drew this long before that regardless lol) I have a shitty animatic thats 80% stick figures for this. never posted it tho.

Okay I know I’m late to the party with Falsettos, I have liked it for a while but that’s not the point. Get ready for a wild rant because Pinterest comments sent me off. I have come onto this hellhole to express my opinion on how people view act 1 of the revival, especially the separation of Marvin and Whizzer in views. People view Whizzer as being innocent and just full on abused by Marvin and it really rubs me up the wrong way because Whizzer is a bad person too. That’s the whole point of it, Whizzer admits that he likes to make Marvin annoyed and angry and he likes to fight Marvin which encourages Marvin’s bad behaviour, says that he doesn’t love Marvin and it’s just lust and is a serial cheater throughout their whole relationship and sings about it/implies it a few times. There’s flaws in all of the characters in act 1 and they’re all bad people in different ways, Mendel is a corrupt psychiatrist that directly got involved in his patients life and made it ten times worse, Jason is a problem child who is acting out constantly, Trina is erratic and struggling to keep it together. The whole point of the character development in act 2 is to show that they’ve grown and changed for each other. Everyone acts like act 1 Marvin and act 2 Marvin are completely separate characters and that act 1 Marvin is purely evil and the worst out of them all, I’m not defending any of their actions, they’re all insane in my opinion, but Marvin IS the same character with the same morals and the same personality but he’s just grown as a person and became more likeable and sociable and willing to share his concerns and feelings. But there is no separation of character because of the fact that Whizzer and Trina and Jason and Mendel’s problems aren’t stated outright and spoke up about unlike Marvin’s, who is constantly being (quite hypocritically if you ask me) called out on it while the other characters still stay completely shielded by the consequences of their actions. This is obviously because Marvin is the main character and the protagonist of the musical like he is right down to the first instalment, In Trousers, and his problems are more shown than others. But it isn’t hard to find that the other characters are bad too, it’s kind of just shown without outright saying it. Marvin is a bad person but so is everyone else in act 1 and the point is that they grow and learn to love each other and the life they live in before Whizzer’s death and Marvin’s implied death followed in suit.

TLDR; Stop saying that act 1 condescending and disrespectful Marvin is evil because that means everyone else is evil too and that includes serial cheater Whizzer, corrupt psychiatrist Mendel, psychotic and erratic mother Trina and problem child Jason!

Do you guys want a long ass analysis? Well, I made one anyways :)

How did Draco’s wand work for Harry? First and foremost, we have to look at each of the properties of the wands, for then you’ll be able to understand Draco’s wand and why it helped Harry defeat Voldemort in the final battle. The wand of Draco Malfoy is 10" precisely, reasonably flexible, Hawthorn wood and with a unicorn hair core. 

Let’s take a look at what Ollivander has to say about hawthorn wands:

The wandmaker Gregorovitch wrote that hawthorn ‘makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death.’ While I disagree with many of Gregorovitch’s conclusions, we concur about hawthorn wands, which are complex and intriguing in their natures, just like the owners who best suit them. Hawthorn wands may be particularly suited to healing magic, but they are also adept at curses, and I have generally observed that the hawthorn wand seems most at home with a conflicted nature, or with a witch or wizard passing through a period of turmoil. Hawthorn is not easy to master, however, and I would only ever consider placing a hawthorn wand in the hands of a witch or wizard of proven talent, or the consequences might be dangerous. Hawthorn wands have a notable peculiarity: their spells can, when badly handled, backfire.

I think Draco’s whole storyline is there lol. 

So, a Hawthorn wand is not easy to master. 

Length and flexibility:

Ollivander wrote, about the length: “longer wands might suit taller wizards, but they tend to be drawn to bigger personalities, and those of a more spacious and dramatic style of magic”. Draco is 10” showing how his magic is more introspective and he is more guarded, closed off.

He also wrote, about the flexibility: “denotes the degree of adaptability and willingness to change possessed by the wand-and-owner pair”. Draco’s wand is reasonably flexible. Which could mean it’s consistent, but if forced, adaptable. So again, it’s not in its nature to just accept changing allegiances. It will fight until the end not to be mastered.

So both its wood and its flexibility are huge indicators of how hard it would be for his wand to be mastered and change loyalties. 

The core:

The core is an even more complex aspect of wands. While the wood represents the wizard’s nature as a person (their body and heart), the core represents the nature of their magic. It’s in the way they use it. Now let’s take a look at Ollivander’s comments on Unicorn hair, Draco’s wand core:

Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing. It’s also the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts, and that is a clear sign that Draco was never a dark wizard by nature, he didn’t want to be dark. He wasn’t dark, otherwise this wand wouldn’t have chosen him in the first place.

And last, but definitely not least, they are the most faithful, and tend to remain attached to their first owner. 

All the aspects in Draco’s wand are adamant to it being difficult to master and even harder to change allegiances. It would fight until the end to work only for its master, and the hair could even die from it. 

So why did it change masters that easily, then? 

Here’s my theory:

Love

Love is always the answer in this series. Lily’s, Narcissa’s, Snape’s, Harry’s. And Draco’s, I would say, is just as meaningful. It matters just as much in the final battle. It was the reason Harry won in the first place.

He trusted Harry with his heart and soul.

I will never accept the Hawthorn wand changed allegiances, because we have proof it didn’t have any reason to, and it’s not in its nature to just do it. 

He never lost the wand’s loyalty completely, he just shared it with Harry.

After a little discussion i had about if the ARG is important to understand and appreciate Sea of Stars and the Saboverse as a whole, i have some thoughs

Mainly that: no, you don't need to read the ARG

It was always planned as something only for the most hardcore of fans, the ones actively searching for more stuff

There are only three informations that are at the moment ARG exclusive:

- the Demon King in The Messenger (AKA Dweller of Strife + the Acolytes) is a pale copy, and the real one's remnants are inside Clockwork Castle

- Resh'an and Aephorul were lovers, and created the Elixir of Life to escape until society accepted them

- the Shopkeeper is a woman, and she descended from The Watchmaker

The rest is just community fluff and Resh'an being incredibly emo, nothing essential

I feel like these informations are important, but they just weren't able to be explored yet.

Continued ramblings below:

About the DK, with Picnic Panic being part of a planned three-act DLC (Barma'thazël's Revenge) that they stopped working to prioritize Sea of Stars, and the final one presumably having you reach Clockwork Castle, this could have been explored there. Or maybe in another game. We still have 3 more books to go, in the end

Shoppy descending from the Watchmaker... with the DLC being called "Throes of the Watchmaker", this has the potencial to be explored there. Or not. They are characters so far apart, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS APART, knowing this information would change your whole perception about the games? This only happens because of the curse of knowing stuff lol, and as someone that knows I would like to see this being explored. But my point is that this isn't fundamental.

And Shoppy's gender... people misgendering her after playing The Messenger bothers me, but it isn't the devs fault IMO. They never use pronouns with her in the game for a reason (iirc Thierry said he didn't want anyone to assuming stuff about the Shopkeep, and that's one of the main reasons behind him writing first in English and having ENG as the only canon language), and people using he/him are taking that out of their asses. Just a one minute Google Search and you find that information, you don't need to read all the ARG logs

There are other stuff like Primals or Shoppy being the first Messenger, the Artificer giving the scroll to Monk that Bowman got because she got transformed into the Queen of Quills and then gave to Ninja, or the entirety of Void Logic being explained and still making us confused to this day, and this is all fluff. Like for real, all that was needed to be in The Messenger for the BIG LORE is already there, and for Sea of Stars too

And for the big elephant in the room, Resh'an and Aephorul being really gay for each other. This is something not even the ARG explored further! Resh'an said that at February 2019, when we didn't even knew who a Fleshmancer/Aephorul was, then when he got to tell the community about him Resh'an explicitely said that he didn't want to elaborate further on his personal past with Aephorul. And with Sea of Stars, we got a taste of that, but it was only their introduction to the world!!!

More like anything else, this feels like something to be explored on the next books (just explaining this better, Thierry Boulanger, aka Creative Director and Writer and some other stuff, has come and said that his dream is to tell this grand story in 5 arcs/books (books because Sabotage works directly with Resh'an, translating the books he writes into videogames) book 1 being TM and book 2 being SOS). This narrative, at least for me, feels like it is about them. About these "gods", the harm they created to this world, and how Resh'an wants to redeem Aephorul. It feels... like a slow burn. And that's why i think they didn't want to tell this right now

Like, Time Shards. We didn't have much lore about them in TM, then SOS comes and BOOM, Time Shards indicate the presence of a timeloop. And maybe Resh'an created them too?? This recontextualizes the nature of the Messenger narrative. And them being More Than Friends can be that too, both for the general public and the Lore Nerds. We still don't know about their society back then, or if the flashback cutscene was pre or post elixir, or why specifically Aephorul became evil, etc. This all feels intentional, ya know

The rest of the ARG is just a bunch of fun interactions the characters and the community had, and a buuuunch of foreshadowing to what we get to see in Sea of Stars. Either Clockwork Concierge (AI Core) hinting about his past with Caël and the Kids, Arty saying he was a robot, or Resh'an literally infodumping about the Guardian Gods, Dwellers and World Eaters. We see all of this in Sea of Stars, and that's amazing!!!! It's so cool to see all of that being real, and that makes me confident that all of this unresolved stuff is something thar Sabotage wants to make real too

But would i recommend reading the ARG? oh sure i do. It's very fun. The narrative framing of the games being books written by The Archivist and SaboTeam working for him is so interesting. And also, we get tons of insight into Resh'an's mind and how he's just extremely depressed, how he misses Aephorul and yearns for being loved but doesn't know how to deal with that when people love him back

EDIT: After chatting with someone, they pointed something about Shoppy's gender that is really relevant to bring out. Yeah yeah, Sabotage wrote the game with English in mind and in ENG they didn't pronoun her at all. But two things

First: in many languages got translated into, including Quebecóis which is a script Thierry himself wrote, since you need to gender stuff, the Shopkeeper got treated as male because of defaulting. So if you played the game on those languages, and didn't follow any stuff related to it, you just assumed Shoppy was a man and moved on with your life.

Which, by the way, is something I MYSELF made. I stopped following the ARG in 2019, so I didn't see the conclusion about her gender for years until some months before SOS came out. And as something I still haven't told, I come from the forbidden land of Brazil, and the PTBR translation of TM is one that suffers from that, so I defaulted her as a dude for years and years

And second: even if you played the game directly on english, if you speak a language that also does the male-defaulting, you probably did that too, and that is not your fault

In the end, this isn't anyone's fault. I may have been too mad at seeing native english speaking redditors calling her a dude? Yeah maybe. But yeahhhhh we live in a society in the end, and them being explicit on the text about her gender on the future would help that at lot

Thankfully on the easter egg she's referred as a woman on SOS in PTBR, which is GREAT

gods, will graham and hannibal are so codependent

hannibal saw that will wasnt on time for his appointment, so he looked visibly sad and hurt, a rarity. he locked his hands together to keep from calling him, and likely to try and soothe worry. he looked a tad confused why he was feeling these things AND THEN HE DROVE A FUCKING HOUR JUST TO SEE WILL, AT THE FUCKING FBI WHATEVER ITS CALLED hannibal needs will. he may not like that he needs will at first, but that doesnt change the fact that he does.

will graham went to fucking europe to find hannibal and discover his past. on the way he broke into hannibals childhood home, got held at gunpoint by chiyoh, hannibals kinda-sister [i love her btw], kissed her, got thrown off a train by her, then walked lord knows how long, INJURED, to civilization, and then continued on to search for hannibal, finding him, then eventually getting almost killed by him [again]. BUT it was particularly brutal this time, he literally like was getting a bonesaw taken to his fucking skull, he was gonna get his brain eaten

anyways, yet he returned to america with hannibal, then hannibal turned himself in after a bit just cuz will said he didnt wanna know where he was, what he was doing, etc. 3 yrs, will doesnt visit him in his 'jail' cell, [he lives in a glass cage thing in a mansion, wouldnt rlly call that a jail cell], after that 3 yrs, shit goes down w dolarhyde [love him btw] and will needs hannibal, desperately. u can tell hes been thinking of him this entire time yet wont even admit it to himself.

eventually shit goes down AGAIN and hannibal and will run away together, knowing damn well dolarhyde is after them. hannibal stand in between the window and will KNOWING dolarhyde is outside, just so he would take the shot, not will. they eventually fall off a cliff in each others arms, but according to the writers or someone, apparently they aint dead, which is shown in the last scene where bedelia is missing one of her legs, shes holding a fork in self defense and there are 2 other places set at the table, her leg as a main dish, she is being fed herself, which is just like what hannibal did to that one dude, starting with the leg[s]

[this is all ignoring SO much, such as hannibal always being will's first call when he needs help, and will being hannibals 'fascination' [see: obsession] so much so that since even before we meet bedelia, [who at the time was hannibal's therapist] she knows will graham by name and has been spoken to about him.

im so sorry but im gonna ramble because theres not enough of that here. SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE SERIES ‼️‼️

THE YOUNG ELITES:

from the beginning of the books we see how much adelina is willing to sacrifice for her sister and how they protect one another in their own way, we see how adelina would betray the daggers to keep violetta safe from the inquisition and we see how violetta LITERALLY BEGGED them to save her and instead she got used and held hostage, then at the end of the first book we discover that violetta was using her powers to protect her sister all those years from herself, even if it was lowkey kinda twisted. but the love was there!!! and the whole time in the first book we see how much adelina is continuously betrayed time and time again by people who are supposed to love her (their dad) and then just when she thinks she gets accepted by another family, they too, reject her and leave her all alone (the daggers). but at the end, violetta is who she clings to. violetta is the one who loves her unconditionally and with no bounds and its just so 😭😭😭

THE ROSE SOCIETY

thats just the first book!!!! the second book, theyre both together, and we can see adelina's journey into madness and how violetta tries to do everything she can to save her sister but adelina's gone off the deep end and she lashes out at everyone. but even through the madness, adelinas still looking out for her sister. the voices make her go insane and in the end, she lashes out at violetta and violetta runs away :( the juxtaposition between the ending of the first book and the second book makes me go so fucking feral because BECAUSEEEEE

THE MIDNIGHT STAR

then the last book, oh midnight star 😭😭 the way theyre both so wary of each other after 2 years of distance but they still cling to one another after everything!! violetta still trying to plead to rafaelle to save adelina despite being cast out 😭😭 and dont even get me started on adelina conquering countries and simultaneously looking for her sister in each one she comquers. and the end 😭😭 her redemption isnt through magiano (WHOLE OTHER RANT), its through her sister, violetta, who she does everything for. she sacrifces her LIFE or own life for violetta because thats just how they work! and the dialogue in the last book, how adelina still protects her sister even when violetta fled to the daggers. the end where she chooses violetta over her own life makes me so feral and its just a culmination of all her motivations and how she just wants to save her sister, thats all she wants. because despite everything, violetta is who she runs to. violetta was her safe space, and to imagine a life without violetta was impossible.

and yk what? in the whole series, adelina depended on her powers for everything from the moment she discovered she had them. when violetta would take them away, it physically pained her and she used her powers and they used her back but she needs them!! even when they were all supposed to be giving their powers back to the gods, she didnt even want to, until she saw her sister and thought that violetta could have a second chance at life if she gave her powers. AND SHE DID!!! but that wasnt enough, because violetta was dead. so adelina gave her life. her chance at peace with magiano, for violettas revival.

my takes on religion

i know, it’s a very hot topic (always has been) and pretty bold thing to talk about on the internet given how people are on here, but i wanted to share some thoughts. i don’t think i’m inherently right on this and i’m not open to debate because that’s not the point of this, i’m just putting some thoughts out there.

i was raised Episcopalian and Presbyterian, two pretty open denominations of christianity. i went to an episcopal school from kindergarten to 8th grade, and i studied religion the whole time i was there. i’m elementary school, we learned the basics of the bible and christian beliefs. in middle school we learned more in depth about the more complex parts of religion. i’m 8th grade i took a class called world religions, the purpose of which was to learn about religions outside of our own.

the class was taught by an episcopal man, and the denomination is known for its openness to other religions. we learned about all the big brand name religions, but one thing in particular stick with me. i was taught that the purpose of religion was to provide guidance and stability to people. not to be right or worship the one true god, but to give oneself purpose.

at the same time, i labeled myself as agnostic and attending weekly meetings with my latin teacher to discuss religion and what it meant to me. she also was agnostic, but in a way i wasn’t familiar with. she believed that all religions were equally true, but none of them got it quite right. she said that there was a higher power, but nobody knew what it was.

so now you have the history and context, here’s what i believe. all religions are true and correct, even if they contradict one another. there is evidence for and against every religion that exists, believers and haters for and sacred text. and everybody is right. the christian God, i believe, is the one true all powerful God for christians. those who hold polytheistic beliefs are right too.

i practice paganism because it brings me joy, purpose, guidance, and gratitude. and i believe that anything that does so for any person is true and real. when we discuss things on such a large scale as God and what created the universe, we have to understand that both everything and nothing can be true at the same time. it’s hard to process in a little human brain, but religion should be hard to understand. a being, or beings, that are on a higher plane of existence should exist in a more complex way than we do.

i think it would be crazy if there was just a guy up there who made the universe. what was he doing before? what will he do after? these questions plagued me for years as i was raised in the christian faith, and that was the reason i had a hard time believing. but seeing it as something so beautifully chaotic that i can never wrap my head around it changed that.

in my day to day life, i practice paganism. specifically, i do diety work with Dionysus. but i also believe in God. I believe that Jesus was the son of God who came to earth and died for our sins. I believe in every single religion, but i get to choose one that makes me the happiest.

i would be astonished if anybody reads this whole thing, but if you did, here’s the big takeaway. religion is a concept that’s far to big to put in a nice box that we can understand. nobody understands it and nobody ever will, so choose something to believe and put your heart in it. religion is a building block to self love and care. no matter what you believe, you have the right to believe it and you have the correct belief.

Okay so, the yanbots just make sense

If you think about it, they were all programmed to fight scott for ramona, and based on canon some of them are really obsessive and persistent.

If you put them fighting for what they think was to get ramona back, or some sort of revenge, plus the personalities they already had, being a yandere makes sense.

Now for the soda spill, that could have just made an already present problem worse. Its been established that both kyle and ken made them intentionally malicious, plus they were programmed to fight some guy for a girl, plus some of them (such as gideon) are obsessive to the point its dangerous. All of this is a recipe for disaster.

I know they were originally made because the concept of yandere todd is really interesting and a LOT of this wasn’t planned till later, but people really do have something going with the whole yandere idea in general.

In the official video Rin and Len have their default outfits so i decided to make my own desins for this, I'm actually really happy with these minus the chalky color of the hair.

I tried to give them a cozy feel because thats the emotions the song gives yknow and i think i pulled that off, the color scheme is also reddish brown because the song is about a coffee shop so i think that is a cool detail. I tend to avoid color schemes like these but I think i managed to make it work. Also I was cookin with Rins hair its so nice, I allways like messing around with the Vocaloids designs when I do this sorta thing I think the curls and making it slightly longer really work with this song. I've never made a len desin for anything so his is more meh lol.

OKAY SO BMC RANT TIME!!!!! (VERY LONG)

I don't think I've seen anyone talk about this but, you know how Christine dates Jake before she dates Jeremy at the end of the play?? I thought about it and there's like a ton of reasons why Christine and Jeremy's relationship is much better!! (I'm basing this on the Broadway production, because I know stuff and lines change from one production to the other)

1) Conversations

So with Jake you can kind of notice how he's the one who speaks more when him and Christine are having a conversation, also, you can even see how he interrupts Christine when she talks sometimes (Like in Upgrade, he asks her if she feels that way and doesn't even let her finish before he continues to go on about it), also it kind of feels like whatever Christine says doesn't really affect the conversation, like he isn't talking to Christine, he's talking to a girl, who happens to be Christine, I don't know if that last bit made sense

But with Jeremy you can tell he actually does listen to her, like not just that but he remembers what she says too!! Like for example, after she told him about the performance art she wants to do just before A guy that I'd kinda be into, he asks her out on a date to the bowling alley to do it. Also, he doesn't interrupt her, like not once, in some parts he actually waits a little more to answer (probably because he's flustered or smth but anyways). You could also argue that this just flips the thing around and makes Jeremy not talk, but that's just because he's not really talkative, he's more shy and stuff, but when he does talk Christine just listens to him, everytime.

2) Christine's behaviour (?)

This can actually be seen pretty well if you compare I love play rehearsal and the bit where she talks to Jake after that. In both situations she's talking about Play Rehearsal, something that she loves!! With Jake we can see she acts pretty calm, like the only excited like thing she reacts with is when she says "A bow! It's called a bow!!" but that's pretty much it. She's also prompted to speak to him since he starts the conversation first. In the other hand, with Jeremy you can see she just kind of feels like she can rant about it, because she just starts to go on without Jeremy having really said anything to prompt her to, she even apologizes in the end of the song ("sorry, I get carried away") and Jeremy just kind of tells her not to apologizes.

Christine: Sorry, I get carried away

Jeremy: No! I wish I loved anything as much as you love play rehearsal!

You can also see that when she's singing about it she does all these dramatic poses and silly moves (like the karate chop), you can clearly see she doesn't with Jake!!

3) Asking out

So this might not be as relevant maybe as the other points, but in both cases Christine is the one who gets asked out. Once by Jake in "Upgrade" (because he officially like asks her out then, even tho they did agree to hang out earlier, in the conversation after I love play rehearsal) and twice by Jeremy, first one she says no because she just broke up with Jake and in the second one she actually accepts.

I wouldn't say Jake forces her to date him, alike at all, but it does kind of feel like he gives her less time to think about it at the very least, mainly you can see it in the lines from upgrade:

Christine: Well I am flattered this is new, still I don't know what I should do-

Jake: You gotta take the upgrade! Gotta get an upgrade!

But, with Jeremy, you can see the only reason he asked Christine out so soon after the break up with Jake is because he couldn't really read the situation I think. Like he just saw that she told him "It's kinda killer to sit and chat with you" which to Jeremy meant she did like him, so he just did it without thinking twice. You can actually see the second time he's a bit more doubtful about it (maybe it's because of what I said or Maybe it's just because he still feels bad that he gave her a SQUIP).

4) Reaction

This one is more simple I guess, but you can clearly see a difference in Jake and Jeremy's reactions to Christine accepting to go out with them. In upgrade (as I said, this is when it feels like he asks her out more officially) we don't really get to see his exact reaction because she doesn't explicitly say yes (I might be remembering wrong though) but it does seem like Jake was kind of unbothered? Like he probably had like a "chill" reaction (yes, that was a pun). Whereas with Jeremy, when she does say yes he gets all excited and quite literally cheers ("Wooo-hooo!!" I love his reaction). He's also like super nervous while Christine is saying the "me and the voices in my head, have made up our collective minds..."

5) Body language?

Now I'm not an expert on this, or even good at body language but I'll just point out the obvious. When Christine and Jake are talking they just. Sit. Like they don't really do much, it feels more like two classmates chatting or something. With Jeremy you can tell they're really happy to be talking or something?? Like they do the little weird noises together, the whole A guy that I'd kinda be into choreography thing just explains this perfectly, they do like a dance and then he picks her up and stuff, it's just adorable. Now that I think about it, is this even considered body language??

Anyways, hope you enjoyed my rant!! Feel free to disagree, I'm just talking about my opinion. Maybe I'm just overanalyzing this and I might as well be biased towards Jeremy or something bshsgs

Season 6 of The Walking Dead should’ve been the final season. For one, accuracy to the source material is not relevant because the televised remake was never intended to be from the very start. 

Secondly, there’s a reason they chose this black and white timeline system in the 6th season, remember that ? I don’t necessarily fuck with it but it’s a marker, it says something, so it doesn’t make any sense, stylistically, to go in that direction and then abandon it along the way, unless it had actual weight.

I’m aware of, and I understand the cultural impact that the character Negan had, it revived the show right after it would’ve been appropriate to end it. But I have a tendency to believe that if you can’t do something right with good intentions then you shouldn’t do it at all. Negan worked, he became even more iconic and marketable than Rick, and that’s all that mattered.

And in hindsight, I think that Negan’s storyline could’ve easily been told in the earlier seasons. He could have happened soon after the The Governors storyline or even replaced it completely, seeing as he wasn’t as much of a hit anyways. 

Commercially, ending a show like this after 6 or 7 seasons doesn’t work, we’re talking about money. And it’s when a story becomes solely about profit, that it truly dies, and that’s when watching a show like this becomes a chore for me. I’m not seeing quality, because I’m not seeing love for the story, for the characters, and for all the people who have to work on the project. 

The longer you make a show like The Walking Dead last, the more you risk ruining it. A lot of loyal viewers of audiences from many different shows can vouch for this about their favorite pieces of media. They’ll say “it got kinda bad towards the end” or “I stopped after x season”. I know for a fact that Glenn’s death on the show in season 7 lowered the viewership count significantly. Not to mention it’s release in 2016 was facing new competitors like Stranger Things, Lucifer, the Crown (Netflix), Westworld (HBO) and many more. It’s blatant the the show lost it’s relevancy. Nowadays it’s barely talked about, even less with the spectacular debut of the series adaptation of The Last of Us. People were craving a story like that, (survivalism, the apocalypse, love, found family) not because there hadn’t been one in a while, but because the one that already existed was failing. It’s easy to ruin a show. It’s easy to let things crumble and to make the wrong decisions. 

If you’re going to make a show last as long as 11 seasons, you have to do it right, and it has to be worth it. The audience matters. Fans and casual viewers alike give TV shows life and reputation. You can’t give them what they want, but you can’t punish them either. I genuinely don’t understand the choice behind this. People would have remembered The Walking Dead for what it was : an excellent apocalyptic, horror drama and thriller and ending the show at 6 seasons, or even 7 would not have hurt anyone, especially not the viewers.  

It seems that these days good stories are either cut short or prolonged until they are no longer so. There’s TV and there’s storytelling. You can have storytelling without TV but you can’t have TV without storytelling. And one of the main rules about telling a story is that it needs a good beginning just as much as it needs a good end. This is why you bring up Breaking Bad. This is why you bring up Avatar the Last Airbender. When a story ends where it’s supposed to you are left with good memories and accolades from everyone. It’s almost silly that a show about corpses walking around would end up one itself.

I have 3 older siblings.We all used to live with my abusive mother before my dad managed to get custody of us after YEARS of fighting to get us out of her house. Obviously,we were all affected in some way.But its different for me.I don't know how to explain it.None of my siblings feel this way.They're all moving on,brushing off years of abuse like its nothing.But I'm stuck.And I can't say anything,because they don't have this problem,so they wouldn't understand or believe me.Not just that,but I'm the youngest.Which means that I've lived with her for a shorter amount of time compared to my siblings.But at the same time,I grew up with her, and they had to deal with her as teenagers.Yes,that's also horrible.But it was horrible to not understand what was happening as my family was falling apart because no one would explain these things to me,especially because at the same time I was also getting abused by a complete narcissist.Because I was so young.To put things into perspective,I lived with her for the first 12 years of my life.

Being like this when no one else is makes me feel like a freak.I have no right to feel like this way.Not to mention that I deserved some of the stuff she's done to me.I'm a terrible person.No one should be burdened with having me as their daughter.In fact,I feel guilty that I'm affected at all,let alone like this.

I have come to face a realization from an extremely strange source about the world we live in, the media being created around us

So get ready for a nonsense, all over the place rant, while I'm feeling woozy af and forgetting where I'm going with most of my thoughts

Let's go

So, I was browsing YouTube as usual when I'm procrastinating, when I decided to click on a specific video. Nothing special, a horror game story analysis and explanation, basically a summary of what happens. I watch those sometimes to get a grasp for a game or just don't feel like sitting through hours of playthroughs

The game in question? My friendly neighborhood

Spoilers for the game from this point on btw. I don't know how to use the site to tag properly but you've been warned

I've seen it float around, watched some gameplay of it when the demo came out

Seemed like the usual mascot horror. You know the type. Dead people, creepy toys coming to life, trying to survive them etc. So at first I was just like "did the kids or crew get to possess the puppets this time"

But it wasn't anything like that

The puppets are alive. Not in a possession way, but just, living creatures with thoughts and feelings and ideas. That was the first thing that caught my attention. "No dead kids in a mascot horror game? That's new" I thought. So I kept watching the summary and the more information got revealed the more I realized something

This game wanted to say something

And say it did

Through the use of the horror genre, it didn't just subvert expectations from a story perspective, it made it's own stand, it said something it wanted to

Not about how people and workplaces are horrible, how murdered people seek revenge, not about a hopeless escape or a struggle for survival

It said something that I haven't seen in horror games in so long

It said something about hope

It said something about kindness

It said something about how, if people can learn to be good again, hopeful again, to smile again, we could be happier

And, for me, it was shocking, coming from a mascot horror game

And then, I scrolled through YouTube again, and saw the same thing that happened on the tv on My friendly neighborhood

Negativity, bad news, hopeless outlooks and searching for the bad in everything

Admittedly, I know that's probably my fault, cause the algorithm works like that

But considering how most of those, I had no previous interest in, how those came from other corners of YouTube

I can make a safe assumption that that happens to a lot more viewers than not

And not just that

Every time I scroll down the Google news thingy, even if I'm only ever clicking on memes or gaming news, it's still full of the negative, hopeless gunk that at this point I just ignore and scroll past

Only for those to pop back again and again, from different sites

I stopped scrolling through news for that reason

And even in films and shows

The very things that supposed to provide us with escapism

They show broken worlds, hateful people

I cannot for the life of me watch an "adult" film or show anymore

I couldn't put my finger on it for years, until this game made me realize how much of what I have watched showed the broken world, leaving bitter people that rely on themselves and push everyone away as a "good" thing

How a lot of them showed that caring for another is stupid and pointless because you will always be betrayed by those you love

How the world cannot and will not help you, even if you cry and beg for a sliver of help

A sign of hope

Call me childish, but when I want to have fun, my idea isn't to watch another fucked up world fucking up people. If I want to see that, I can look out my window. I can stare my family in the face, to feel utter hopeleness and loneliness in a broken world, as I know they will never love me as I am

So yeah

I stopped watching that too

But the negativity is inherently in everything nowadays

Every day, there's new YouTube drama in my feed, there's a new show about an unwinnable fight where you should give up and learn to leaver everyone behind, where you have to be afraid of everyone's intentions, a new person "proving" that there is no goodness left in humans

But then comes My friendly neighborhood, and says "you know what? Screw you. We can scare you without making you feel hopeless for the future of humanity. We can show you, that even in a broken world, there is hope and kindness and that's what makes people happy and good and life worth living" and it's completely right

I don't live when I'm just surviving on junk

I live when I see my partner smile, when I see my gush about his training, when I read the snippets of a book my friend is writing. I live when I tell them how proud I am, when I help them carry a bag, when I tell a joke to brighten their mood. I live when I am kind. I live when I am in a community, when I give help, and when I know I can ask for it when I need it

I live when I'm playing overdramatic to make people laugh, because their laughter gives me hope, and brings light into a world with barely any left. And that's what makes life worth it

Not sitting alone and wondering what xyz's intentions are when they offered to give you a ride hope, not being wary of the stranger who said "have a nice day", not consuming media that makes me feel alone and untrusting, not when seeing how people "turned bad", not when I hear news of the world rotting

Those have made me the farthest thing from alive

Those have made me think "I should always avoid people, just in case", "I should learn how to beat people up, just in case", "I should never say a word about anything, just in case someone will backstab me" or on worse days "According to these facts, if I stopped existing, it would be better"

Not exactly the best things to think, when you always hear about how one product in your house is inherently evil or how you not screaming on the streets and getting shot for something you believe in is "not enough", or just constantly hearing how everyone else is horrible

How the girl wearing makeup is a bitch

How that boy with muscles is an asshole

How those people playing card games are useless gamblers or gatekeeping assholes, depending on the game

How that chick is a golddigger for sure and how that guy is also one

Without ever getting to know any of them

Because that's what we're being shown

I bet you've had specific images of people you have seen on tv pop up in every single example

That when you look at people on the street, you put them into these categories yourself

I can't blame you

That's what you're given by everything around you

But don't forget to get to know them, before you truly make a judgement call, okay?

Because maybe that person just needs someone to talk to

Or maybe they're going through stuff you'll never imagine

Or you might be right

But you will never know

And trust me, talking to people with kindness, making them smile, it will guarantee that the world, even if just for a second, is a brighter place

And if you are kind to someone, they will probably also be kind to others. Or they will learn with time, when the world is too kind for them to remain an asshole. When they will feel out of place for being a jerk or being called out for constantly bringing others down

With kindness, there is strength needed, and not just physical

And I think My friendly neighborhood expresses that element nicely

Gordon is a war veteran, what he's carrying is not easy to face, yet when he can help those around him, when he helps the puppets, he has to look his past in the eyes and say "it will be alright, I know what it's like". Of course he isn't healed magically, but it shows a strength needed to be kind to those who need it

And I love that in the game

It does something that many don't dare anymore

It dares to show hope

You know, it ironically reminded me of dark souls

Now, stay with me here

Game is known for difficult boss fights and minmaxers and memes, right?

Cause I never hear anyone really discuss its themes or a critical element, the very reason why the game is even possible

Hope

The game shows the power, the will, the strength needed to chase for a sliver of hope that the world can get better

In the world of tragedies and monsters and dying and undeath, the game always tells you, that you never truly turn into a murderous zombie, as long as you have a will strong enough to hold onto your humanity. The hope that you might be someone to keep the fires burning. Because wether that's a good thing or bad, is not the point of that strength. You don't fight for the "good" or "right" thing. Most don't even care. Because what matters is that you, and by extension, your character, has a strong enough will to hold on till the end, a reason to keep on fighting

For another example of this, look at Solaire, who as far as I know, is a fan favorite. He is the definition of kindness, of hope, of always looking for the light, literally or figuratively

It of course is set in a world where you can't trust everyone, like patches. But it also shows the beauty of the world, the good, the things worth fighting for

My friendly neighborhood does something similar, but in a more clear and hopefully way

Of saying that the world itself can heal if people learn to be kind again

And I think that's beautiful

And something we have so little of anymore

In a world where even our media is growing hopeless and bleak, a horror game of all things, giving hope for a better world, for living happy, for trusting in people yet again

It's truly inspiring

I just wish we had more hopeful things like that in every corner of the internet, of gaming, of tv, of the world itself

No one wants to die a bitter, old person

And the knowledge that we don't have to, is the truest power we have against it

Have hope y'all

Be kind

Learn to love instead of hate

It will get you to a happier place in life

And happy is one of the best things you can be

I'm so tired of being so sick. There's so much wrong with me it feels I never get to catch a break. DID. OCD. Bipolar. Autism. ADHD (probably). A PDA profile that makes me bristle at being told (or sometimes even asked) to do literally anything.

I want so fucking much to get better, to feel better, but when one disorder bothers me a little less, another is right fucking there to take its place. It feels so unfair. Keep going keep pushing keep fighting you're so strong you're so brave I'm so proud of you for not giving up. But I don't want want to have to fight this hard to get to a semblance of okay. I don't want to be brave and disciplined and digilent and always working on my mental health. Do the people who say these things have any idea what it's like to feel this fucking crazy? To spend so much time feeling delusional, having to try to parse out what's real and what's your anxious fucking mind?

I just want to cut my disorders in half. Bipolar would be the FIRST to go. Mania is a blight, depression is trying not to drown in the middle of the ocean during a storm with weights tied to your ankles, and that thin space in between the two takes mountains of effort to find and a lifetime commitment of effort to stay in.

I want the lazy ass diagnosing we received from seven years old up to when our first manic episode forced doctors to look deeper to be the truth. Simple anxiety and depression (nevermind that children that young don't often have regular full blown panic attacks).

I want not to have to choose between Seroquel numbing me out to the point I lose touch with reality or mania.

I want not to have to monitor my symptoms for signs of alarm.

I'm fucking homeless this month (staying in a hotel) and next month I'm sleeping in a living room where my skittish cat will be forced to be around a dog. And if I wasn't as sick as I am I probably could have found a better situation by now, but as it is, I'm up the creek without a paddle and angry at the entirety of my life and being.
