I finished finals yesterday, so I’m officially done for the summer, but I realized I never posted these photos from when I was reviewing for finals!! These notes are from my Introduction to Communication class; they actually match my new laptop case a little bit, which is cool, and I think I did well on the exam, which is even cooler : )

I know I’ve neglected this blog a little bit this semester, and I apologize, but this summer I’m hoping to revamp it and get in the habit of posting more often so that by the time next semester starts, this blog (and my study habits overall) are even better!! I can’t wait!!

aside from some reblogging, i haven’t really been active on here because of studying. something i’ve learned (through a.p. physics) the hard way about believing in yourself is that you have to believe in your ability to work hard. i’ve had to work very hard in a.p. physics, with the help of a tutor, because it is a tough class. the math is super easy because it is algebra i (i took that in middle school), but the concepts are difficult to apply to a given situation, and every situation is different. anyway, i was studying a.p. physics in the ikea restaurant. their chocolate almond cake is really good! 9/9 would recommend.

23 October 2017 | 18:10 Haven’t made an actual post in awhile. My third term had me really busy and preoccupied. Hopefully this term isn’t too bad and I’m able to post more. First day of term 4 is starting with neurological disorders. Cranial nerves are a little tricky but flash cards are always my go-to. Also I thought the random brandy melville picture would fit with the “theme” lol. Happy studying to all the studyblrs going through midterms/finals!

AUGUST 7 - 13, 2017

Last week was a little rough - I had an awful migraine on Tuesday and felt like shit all of Wednesday. The lack of sleep also made my mental health shaky but I’ve gotten rest and feel much better now!

I added a reading tracker because I want to read at least 10 pages a day… and I totally failed to meet that goal even one day last week! Oops. But it’s okay, I’m going to be better at it this week.

Also, I can’t stop listening to Kesha’s new album, Rainbow. It’s a kickass and empowering revelation 🙌🏼

Enter the Doomed Abyss of BENTHIC REALM!

~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~

The doom metal scene is fond of its cosmonauts venturing into the farther reaches of outer space and it's psychonauts tripping the still uncharted realm of inner space, but outside of a few well-known examples (Ahab) we've still not spent enough time in the great below.

Two years ago, the New England trio BENTHIC REALM was formed for deep sea exploration. With former members of Second Grave members Krista Van Guilder (WarHorse, Lucubro) on vocals/guitar and Maureen Murphy on bass, along with Dan Blomquist from the crushing band Conclave on drums, you know this is going to be one hell of a ride. The band's first EP, 'Benthic Realm' (2017) gave us a taste of their potential, with three powerful tracks that showed a penchant for effective, memorable riffcraft. Now, Benthic Realm are returning for a second chapter: 'We Will Not Bow' (2018).

We Will Not Bow features four songs, "Save Us All," "Thousand Day Rain," "I Will Not Bow," and "Untethered."   "A lot of the lyrics," the band says, "are slightly political in nature, a bit about our society and the world we live in –- the negatives, but sometimes about fictitious stories." Krista's singing is commanding throughout, her guitar play riveting. Maureen and Dan's rhythm section is tight and always on point. The mood throughout is dark, brooding, melancholy -- just my cup of tea!

The EP was recorded at Mad Oak Studios in Boston with Benny Grotto, where so many great doom-stoner projects have emerged over the years. We Will Not Bow releases October 31st in compact disc and digital formats and can be preordered here.

Today, Doomed & Stoned is pleased to be premiering the gargantuan opening salvo, "Save Us All." This up-tempo number opens urgently, as if on a mission to deliver a message of the utmost importance. "Save Us All," Krista notes, "shines a light on how destructive we are as humans and how we are destined to ruin everything including ourselves." Her vocals are commanding and can soar beautifully with the best of her class, while just as quickly unleashing with hellish intensity.

What's really feeding at the beneath the waters? Only Benthic Realm can say. They bid you to now join them for the journey. Give ear...
