Dp x dc AU where Dick adopts teenage Danny into his family with Kor’i and Mar’i
Mar’i had always wanted a sibling, all seven years of her life in fact!! Toys and play times with friends couldnt possibly compare to having a brother or a sister, and she knew this as a fact from some of her school mates.
So when her dad brings home a kid that was all cut up and bruised, and her mom patches him up because something about his “biology” was weird- Mar’i sees this as an opportunity in the making!
Danny is healing up slowly but surely in Nightwings house, and he feels like a total intrusion. He’s now seen their faces and it feels like so much trust has been placed in him with no way for him to repay it. So he’s moping a bit, hanging in his room reading a book based on his video game series when a small child walks in, her arms filled with board games and toys.
“Hello, will you be my big brother?” Is all she asks him with a straight face, her eyes incredibly serious for someone so small.
“Er, im just here until-“
“Want to play a game?” Mar’i changes the subject favoring a specific board game in her hands. Rule number one of negotiation is to never let them say no- her uncle Damian taught her that.
“…yeah, sure.” Danny accepts because honestly? He could at least repay Nightwing and Starfire by babysitting right? They play a few games and then dinner gets brought in and for once, Danny feels like he’s having a normal family meal.
Next time she comes into his room, he’s focused on healing one of his larger wounds from the power in his core- he’s floating and his eyes are green. Mar’i is ECSTATIC. He fits in PERFECTLY.
“WILL YOU PLEASE BE MY BIG BROTHER?!?” Mar’i persistently asks every single day. Danny laughs and smiles and pats her head.
Once he’s feeling better, he starts patrolling with Nightwing, just to pay him back. Not that he’s having fun bashing goons and getting solid hero advice for the first time in his life.
Then he goes to Tameran with Kor’i for a diplomatic mission (his royal ambdassadorship/ king titles tbd) to discuss the Infinite Realms and why they absolutely need to abandon their attempts to use ghost artifacts. Kor’i explains how proud she is of him as they fly home.
He gets invited to all their family outings now, and he is overwhelmed by how accepted he is. How much the Bats all seem to leave him space for boundaries but invite him to do things very much to his interests (they are detectives after all). Once its safe, Jazz comes every now and then from her Ivy League college to hang out with them all and spend time with Danny. She gives him the advice he needed to hear about accepting good things into his life and deserving happiness.
One day Mar’i has a bad day at school, and when Danny gets home from his own community college classes- he brings her into a big hug, makes her a cup of tea from her mom’s home planet and once she’s comforted and happy again he says “hey, what are big brothers for?”

Two Graysons for one:
So we all know that Dick Grayson is supposed to become the greatest Talon of the Court of Owls: The Gray Son, Dick wasn't Mary and John's first child.
Enter Daphne Mary Grayson (Danny Fenton) the firstborn Grayson who dissapeared during Haley's tour in Europe.
The European Court of owls (Ecoo) were impatient for their Gray son and couldn't wait until Haley's arrived in Gotham. So they end up kidnapping Daphne, taken to become the possible Gray son, unaware Mary Grayson was pregnant with Dick at the time. Daphne does get small doses of electrum, but the Ecoo are waiting until she is older to fully convert her in a Talon for the court. During one of the plots to assainate an wealthy business person, an earthquake occurs and Daphne, injured ends up falling through a crevasse that connect to a cave system that directly leads to an ectoplasm pool that she accidently falls in.
Now this where things get tricky. Dick life still plays out the same way (Bruce bait, Robin, Nightwing,etc...) As Nightwing, Dick gets into contact with a magical-infused virus that could very well kill him unless he gets the blood of biological family member (John and Mary are dead, William Cobb has more electrum than blood in him and they cannot synthetisize the virus out of his blood to try put his blood back in him) this looks like it could be the very end of Dick Grayson. Everyone in the Family decides to air out their grievances to their big brother, the bird who brought all of them together. It's also worth mentioning that someone has been murdering influential people that are part of the Court around the world but has started to make their way towards Gotham warning them that their time is up.
Now, last time with Daphne, she fallen in an ectoplasm pool. What we find out is that after that fall, she appears in the states (Meddling Clockwork) unaware how they got there. Daphne gets spotted by Jazz Fenton and decides to be her big sister unaware that Daphne is somewhat disoriented from the ectoplasm and electrum sort of melding together giving Daphne some enhanced abilities like, slight healing, speed and able to go longer without proper sustenance. Daphne's electrum is barely visible around her heart and her eyes are blue with a ring of amber or gold with flecks of green ectoplasm.
The Drs. Fenton decide to "adopt" Daphne to please their daughter, and Daphne becomes Danny Janus Fenton. Canon episodes happen, except I want to say that Phantom Planet may have caused the Metahuman appearance. Danny's parents, while not to hate him anymore , can not get over their guilt that their passion killed their child. Danny is still close to Jazz, Tucker, Dani (Ellie and the clones), Valerie and Wes, surprisingly. Danny and Sam sort of split because Sam could understand that Danny was a murderer and Danny thought that Sam reminded them too much of their court days.
Danny would be genderfluid ( somedays it's Danny, others it's Daphne) since Danny always felt she lacked some control over her life.
Now, how do the Graysons meet? Two days before Dick possibly dies, someone is at the door. Alfred or possibly Tim opens it to inform them that they werent taking visitors before being shocked as the person at the door looks almost exactly like Dick (Tim would know as he has seen John and Mary Grayson before their demise) Danny goes to say that they are here to help their Baby brother as it was announced publicly that Dick Grayson has caught something terrible and was possibly on their last legs. Tim and the rest of the family want to get the validity that this is an actual relative of Dick and not some fake. Danny's D.N.A is uncorrupted enough that they can 100% tell that Danny is actually related to Dick on a much closer scale than they realize like an uncle or second-cousin, and they don't want to risk it. And if it didn't work, Danny wanted to see her baby brother alive before he died.

Escapism: Overshadowing and Intangibility
Part 6.1 of Heirs Apparent | AO3
Masterlist
There was a time when Jason didn't believe in being saved. He knew himself what it was like to cling uselessly to hope, to wait for someone—anyone—to come to him at the right moment. He only believed in relying on himself, to wiggle out of a bad situation somehow until he could get away. Even now, he didn't want to stand still, despite the triplets fiercely battling each other. Yet he felt a sliver of helplessness, thinking that they wouldn't stand a chance against a horde of assassins.
Then amidst the inner and outer conflicts, he finally saw it: the true image of a savior.
By the name of Talia al Ghul.
"Hello, dears." She smiled. "Follow me, I'll lead you to the escape route."
Seeing Talia was . . . a breath of fresh air. During his time with her, Jason wouldn't have expected her to have children. But it wouldn't be surprising if she were protective of them.
"Why should we?" Dick asked warily.
She narrowed her eyes. "Because my children are risking their lives creating a distraction."
True enough, the three were still at each other's throats. When Jason took a look, he saw Danyal on top of Marinette with a knife, while the latter was aiming a rifle at him. But he caught the girl's feral grin when she aimed the gun not at her brother's head, but at the upper deck with the League elders in it.
"You gave them a signal," Tim concluded out loud, eyes wide.
Jason easily followed Talia when she plunged back in the darkness, with his brothers taking hesitant steps behind him. In that situation, there was no one else to trust but her. No, Jason was confident that she would lead them to safety. She guided them back through the winding paths, where there was a trail of knocked-out assassins.
"So . . ." Jason trailed off. "The triplets, huh?"
"Which one have you met?"
"Marinette."
Jason stared at the back of her head. He wished he could see the kind of expression she was making.
"My precious girl," said Talia, "I thought it was better to hide them away."
"I think it was better that way, too."
She only nodded at that. She must've sacrificed a lot . . . Jason thought, to keep her children alive. He hadn't known Marinette (or Danyal) before that time, and she barely talked about her mother. But he saw Talia in her, more than just from her looks. Her snappy remarks were all Talia. Her sharp gaze was all Talia. Her fighting style was similar to the one Talia had taught him.
Hell, even Damian had resembled Talia more than Bruce. And that boy spoke about his mother with pride albeit only on occasion.
They reached the bottom of a staircase when another set of footsteps echoed on the stone walls. Then, a voice rang out from a passage to their right. "Umi!"
Marinette fell into Talia's embrace, head buried on her mother's shoulder. Jason gave some distance for the sake of their reunion, seeing how Marinette appeared so vulnerable.
Talia placed her hands on Marinette's shoulders after they parted. "Listen, my love, I can't be with you the whole way."
"What?"
The woman looked at the path where Marinette came from. "I have to settle things with the opposing faction. But you must escape quickly."
"But . . . but Damian and Danyal haven't seen you yet."
"I'm sorry, Habibti."
Jason could tell Marinette wanted to hold her back, but Talia headed towards the other way in the blink of an eye. He could see that Marinette was about to follow but he stepped forward to stop her.
"She wants you to get out of here," Jason told her firmly. "You know her. She'll be fine."
Although the tension hadn't left her fists and she still seemed distracted, Marinette stopped herself and continued along the main passageway.
"We haven't seen her in so long," she mumbled, but then shook her head and faced the three of them. "That reminds me, you at least need something to defend yourselves with."
Immediately, she started removing all kinds of weapons on her person (Jason didn't even know how she was able to carry all of it). Tim gaped at her. "How many weapons did you take?"
"Enough."
She tossed a pair of Escrima sticks to Dick, a retractable staff for Tim, and a pair of handguns and small blades to Jason. Jason noticed she kept a small gun and a knife for herself as well. He was reminded of some rumors during his time in the League: there was once an assassin skilled in handling guns, perhaps the best the League had ever seen. Now that he thought about it, no one ever specified that it was a man.
"Where's Damian and Danyal?" Dick asked.
"The separate gates we went into never lead to connecting paths until the exit. An assassin under Mother's faction told us," Marinette relayed. "It got messy in the arena, but we decided to split up so we could rescue the hostages."
"But why return to the same gate?"
She shrugged. "Caught up in the moment. We didn't notice which gate was which so I guess I'm back here with you. If Mother's plans are going well, the others should be on their way out as well."
Easier said than done, thought Jason. There were rumbles heard from afar, scuffles that could only be the clashing of both League factions.
Marinette glanced behind them. "There are assassins following. Let's hurry."
The dark path seemed unending but they picked up their paces, going straight. Footsteps began to sound out louder—Jason knew they'd have to fight back.
The girl in front of them gasped. "A dead end?"
Before Jason could move, Marinette turned back, pushing past them. "I can hold them back."
"There's too many. We'll help," Dick offered.
"No. As soon as they're caught off guard, go and find another path to the exit."
"We're not letting you handle all of them on your own," Jason insisted, "You'll definitely die. It's not fun dying."
She scoffed. "I've died thirty-six times, Jason. You're not special."
". . . What?"
Gunshots rang out of the blue as Marinette wounded the assassins one by one with a careful aim. Yeah, there's no way in hell we're leaving her here, Jason decided. He lunged for an attack, facing their assailants head on and using his knife on them. His brothers followed suit, much to Marinette's voiced protest.
Suddenly, an assassin stopped on his own, pausing as if paralyzed and suddenly banged his head on the wall to drop down unconscious. Others mimicked the same movement though doing so one by one.
"What the fuck?" Jason heard Tim whisper under his breath.
"Danny?" Marinette lowered her gun.
"Oh you rang?" The voice of a child echoed in the tunnel just as the last body dropped. "Wait, you mean Danny with a 'y'?"
As if the day couldn't get stranger, a little girl materialized in front of them from a wisp of . . . something otherworldly, yet strangely familiar to Jason. The only way he could describe her is that she looked like a younger version of Marinette.
"Ellie," Marinette blinked in surprise. "You're Ellie, aren't you?"
The girl, 'Ellie', crossed her arms while looking at Marinette. "How do you know my name? How do you know my brother?"
"Because he's my brother, too."
What? Jason's head was spinning.
"Danny doesn't have other siblings," Ellie narrowed her eyes.
"That you know of," Marinette said, "For now, you just have to trust us, okay? We have to get out of here."
"But Danny and Jazz—"
"Should also be on their way out," Marinette cut her off. "Do you know how to get out of here? Did you come here alone?"
The little girl grimaced, "Ehm, technically Sam and Tuck are with me but I just got ahead of them. Oh! But I met Batman and these two cool heroes on the way here. We split up after we connected comms but I lost the signal."
"Batman? You met Batman?" Dick repeated.
"Uh, yeah the old man."
"The two heroes, who were they?" Marinette's face twisted into a frown.
"Viperion and Ryuko!" Ellie's blue eyes practically glittered. "They were really cool. I want to be like them."
When Jason looked at Marinette, her face was unreadable. On top of that, Jason didn't expect Bruce to actually come to the base on his own without backup.
"Are we not going to talk about how you two look alike?" Tim chimed in. "And what the fuck just happened? Did those assassins just . . . die?"
"Oh yeah, we do look alike." Ellie's eyebrows raised, like she had just realized it.
"Um, hello?" Tim poked an unconscious assassin with his foot. "Are they dead?"
"I overshadowed them."
"Over-what?"
Meanwhile, Marinette sighed and rubbed her head. "It's a long story but not my story to tell. We should focus on getting out of here. Ellie, do you know the way out?"
"It's over there." Ellie gestured towards the supposed dead end. "That wall actually opens up."
The child glides past them and disappears into the wall. Jason had to do a double take. A few seconds later, the wall makes a rumble and a portion of it slides to the right to reveal a narrow opening.
"Um, again, what the fuck," Tim stared at the new pathway in astonishment.
Marinette's shoulders visibly sagged in relief. "Thanks, Ellie. We have to hurry; more assassins might be behind us."
----
Danny was pretty sure the boom they just heard was an explosion. He ran through the shaking tunnels, feeling the dust sprinkle on top of him. They want to stop our escape, he cursed inwardly, and also the other faction. Looking behind him, he could see the three Parisians running their breaths ragged.
He closed his fists. If things get worse, I might be forced to transform. Them too.
"Umm, does this count as an emergency to transform?!" Chloe shrieked after another cacophony of blasts reverberated.
"Save your transformations," Danny told them before Adrien could reply. "We don't have a way to recharge your kwamis if your timers run out. I'll protect you."
"Are you gonna enlighten us how?" Alix asked.
Danny was planning to make up a lame half-truthful explanation when they saw that their path was obstructed. Rubble covered up the entirety of the opening, creating a dead end in the small passage.
"Is there another way out?" Adrien breathed out.
No . . . we'd have to come back all the way where we came from. Danny clenched his jaw. Mother's attendant said this was our only path.
"I can transform and Cataclysm—"
"No." Danny made his voice firm. "We don't know the extent of its destruction. This whole tunnel might collapse . . . I have an idea."
He gulped down his uncertainties and turned around to face them. "Everyone hold hands. We're going through this."
Alix tilted her head. "What? Have you actually lost your mind?"
Danny held his hand out. "Just trust me on this, alright? It's the only way."
The other hesitantly formed a link: Alix at the rear, Chloe in front of her, then Adrien taking Danny's hand. The blonde boy seemed to recoil a little when he felt his skin. "Um . . . your hand's really cold."
Despite the situation, Danny chuckled. "So I've been told." He checked the path where they came from in case there were pursuers. "Listen . . . whatever you do, don't let go."
Chloe huffed. "That definitely doesn't sound ominous."
"Just relax. This'll be quick."
Tugging the group forwards, Danny turned intangible and passed it on to the rest. They swiftly walked through the rubble, reaching the other side of the blockage. Fortunately, the rest of the path seemed open.
"What the heck was that?!" Chloe gawked at their surroundings.
"You can let go now." Danny ran a hand through his hair. "It's a power of mine. It's hard to explain in detail right now but it has something to do with me being half-ghost."
"I'm sorry, half-ghost?" Adrien's eyes widened.
"This and that happened and now I'm half-dead," Danny smiled, looking at their different reactions. Adrien looked like he had just obtained a puzzle piece about an oddity. Alix was looking at her hands, muttering to herself. Chloe's expression said something like 'am I being ridiculed right now?'
"Don't think too much about it—"
Danny stopped, sensing a presence ahead of them. A presence nearing them. He moved forward, ready to shield the others if things turn south, then he saw who had just approached them.
"Damian?" A gravelly voice rang out.
Danny calmed his stance. "I'm not Damian."
Batman seemed to have reacted but he kept silent. Danny wished he could see behind the cowl. Sure, I wanted to meet him someday but Ancients, why now?!
"Huh, you are shorter than I expected, Mr. Batman sir." Danny gazed at the masked figure of his biological father.
"That's really Batman?!" Chloe whispered behind him.
"We're currently headed to the exit," Danny explained with a steady tone. "The others are separated but they should be on their way out too. I'm Danny and these are Adrien, Chloe, and Alix."
Batman, too, took on a more professional demeanor. "You match the description of the ones who went missing in the bus incident. But the ones I came here for—"
"I said they should be on their way out too, old man." Dami-akhi wasn't kidding when he said the old man was crazy stubborn. But then again, we all got it from him. "You're not getting through that rubble. It's blocked. So please escort us to the exit, 'kay?"
"How did you get through?" Batman pressed on.
". . . It's a secret." Danny put a finger to his lips. "Can we get a move on now? This place can go kaboom any second you know."
The vigilante finally relented, turning the other way to lead them along the path. Danny could hear the three conversing among themselves, debating why Batman would go through the effort of rescuing the Wayne children in a faraway location.
"Do you know an 'Ellie'?" Batman asked suddenly.
Danny stiffened for a moment. "Ellie? Ellie's here?"
"Yes, we met at the entrance and split up at a fork along with two other heroes, Ryuko and Viperion. I lost contact with them a while ago as well as the Batplane, which Samantha Manson and Tucker Foley are piloting."
This girl . . . He didn't expect her to actually get herself involved. And Tucker and Sam are here too?! A part of him wanted to tell off Batman for not stopping them, but he knew how persistent they were. Especially Ellie, who was an entire force to reckon with on her own.
Tucker and Sam are piloting the Batplane. Ancients, my friends are crazy.
"Shit. Ryuko and Viperion are here too?" Adrien caught up with Danny's pace.
"Parisian local heroes?" Batman asked.
Adrien held his tongue and looked away. Danny made a mental note to help steer the conversation away from the topic of Paris and Miraculi if anything came up.
"I have to ask you as well, Daniel, what your relation is to Damian Wayne and Marinette Dupain-Cheng?"
Wow, interrogation time already? Danny let out a scream of frustration in his head. Can we, like, escape from here first?
"It's just Danny." He kept his expression neutral. "And isn't it obvious, Batman? They're my siblings."

what was lost, found again by halfagone (milkywxy)
Being half-dead had its perks, apparently. Like finding and saving a teenager trying to dig his way out of his own grave. Yeah. This is Danny's life now. He'll still take it over trying not to get skinned alive by Skulker, though.

JoJo's Bizarre Swapping:Phantom Tendency(Roles)
Jonathan swaps with Joseph
Speedwagon swaps with Caesar
Mary Joestar swap with Lisa Lisa
Kakyoin swaps with Speedwagon
William Zeppeli swaps with Loggins
Bruford swaps with Messina
Aqua swaps with Erina
Erina swaps with Suzi Q
George Joestar swaps with George 2
The pillar man don't swap roles.
Jonathan is still called Jonathan Joestar and not Jonathan Kujo because George didn't wanna have the name of someone he didn't know and Jonathan and Aqua both respect that desition (Despite Aqua slightly disagreeing with it)
We are going the @goatpaste route and now the Nazi's are not involved and the Kakyoin Foundation does everything that they do but in a way better and less disgusting way.
None of the Pillar Man die either, primarily because i think Jonathan would get too along with them to kill any of them, and maybe he can even convince them to not do evil bs maybe.
Erina/Jonathan/Wammu polycule ensues.
Speedwagon is more of a Jobro than Caesar and actually is friends with Jonathan but they clash a bit due to their different views on family with Speedwagon only focusing on the now and Jonathan seeing the past and ahead, while forgeting about the present sometimes.
Eventually Jonathan learns from Speedwagon, he still becomes a fucking pancake though, but it is clear that it is not because Wammu wanted to kill him, instead is because Speedwagon was a little bit reckless and accidentally broke some rocks with his hamon while trying to fight Wammu.
Mary goes by Mary Mary, yes. She also tells Jonathan that she is his mother before they fight Kars and Wammu because i picture her as more nice and wants Jonathan to know before she possibly dies.
Jonathan and Wammu try to convince themselfs that they hate each other and try to fight because that's what they are supposed to do but they cannot bring themselves to do so because they spent time together in this AU and are too much of good pals (or maybe more) to actually try to kill each other.
Meanwhile in the background Kars and Mary fight at the same time and accidentally destroy the Aja stone because their idiots.
Feel free to ask more

Fight for the Throne: Obsession
Part 5.2 of Heirs Apparent | AO3
Masterlist
CW: Blood, killing, violence, PTSD
When Danny was first discovering how his ghosts and the Ghost Zone worked, he wondered if the people he had killed ever turned to ghosts. On one end of his thoughts, he somewhat felt relieved that lives he cut too short could still be anchored to the Infinite Realms. On the other hand, he was worried if  any of his targets ever sought vengeance.  So when he was crowned king, he kept an eye out for familiar faces—so far, he encountered none from his past. Not even (Ancients forbid) Ra's al Ghul himself.
But he didn't necessarily remember all of his kills. Except for one.
The rain was pouring that night. The ground was reduced into sludges of mud, and lightning cackled every minute or so. Danny dragged himself down a steep incline, breathing hard as he pressed down on the gash on his shoulder. He had taken a bad hit from where he was stationed, but he was able to complete his kills once he disarmed his opponents.
He frantically scanned the area despite the darkness and raindrops veiling his sight. It was their first mission together, the three of them tasked to slay a handful of assassins who had broken away from the League. Unfortunately, their communicators had shut down an hour ago, so he was left to blindly look for his brother and sister.
Danny stumbled down the path, earning more cuts on his knees. He clenched his jaw, used his bloodied sword as leverage, and pulled himself to his feet. He needed to find them. He needed to make sure they were okay.
He suppressed a scream when his wound stung, drops lightly touching the torn skin. "You can't go back without them," he whispered to himself, "You can't go back yet."
Finally he reached the bottom of the terrain and found his siblings.
But with an assailant.
Marinette was down on the ground with head bleeding and her foot twisted at an odd angle, but she was trying to crawl her way to Damian. She was screaming something that Danny couldn't make out in the rain. Damian was locked underneath an assassin, open wound on his thigh and the side of his abdomen. His sword was on the ground out of his reach. The attacker was ready to swing his sword at the boy's throat—
Danny saw red. He ran and tackled the assassin, putting himself on top and began stabbing his chest with his katana. The movements of his arms were persistent, push pull push pull push pull—one of his gloved hands held his weapon by the blade while the other curled around the hilt. He cried out in anguish, how dare he hurt them—must protectprotectprotectPROTECT killkillkillkillkillKILL
"—nyal!"
His fingers wouldn't stop, his eyes remained on his victim's body as his vision blurred around the edges, and the movements became so familiar. Even as his chest heaved and his wound burned he could only think of one thing at that moment.
"Danyal!"
He drove his weapon again and again, never stopping, never pausing even once. Whoever hurt those he loved must suffer, must be punished—
"DANYAL!"
He halted, snapping out of his trance. Danny looked down to see the assassin motionless, blood splattered around the body and on himself. He choked and his eyes widened, seeing himself so stained red for the first time from a kill done by his own hands. He hadn't even noticed that the threat was dead.Turning around, he saw his brother and sister staring at him.
"That's enough, akhi," Marinette told him somberly.
Damian followed with his own monotonous voice. "We have everyone cleared out. We must return soon."
Danny couldn't say anything. He got up wordlessly, strapped his katana back on, and followed his siblings up the trail. Marinette hobbled on one foot, leaning against Damian for support while he followed close behind them, keeping an eye out for any more danger.
The memory was cruelly seared into Danny's head. On some nights, he could still feel his arms going up and down in a stabbing motion, reminding him of his origins. Such thoughts made him believe that he wasn't actually worthy of becoming King, despite the Ancients' constant speeches about fate.
---
Adrien didn't know what to make of the situation. He had already told Chloe and Alix to keep their kwamis hidden in case they were being watched. Fortunately, their kidnappers hadn't taken away their Miraculi. Unfortunately, not being able to transform left them too few options for escape.
"This humidity is not helping my hair," Chloe cried out for the umpteenth time, tugging at her blonde locks.
"I think we have more important problems than your hair," Alix deadpanned, leaning her cheek against her fist.
Chloe brought the back of her hands up to eye level as she pouted. "You're right, my nails chipped off too."
Meanwhile, Adrien slid his gaze over to the stranger who was in the cell with them. The boy, who looked about their age, had been in the same room when they had woken up. They hadn't spoken a word to him, and he hadn't looked their way either.
Adrien shifted, reaching over to tap Alix on the shoulder. He assumed the stranger didn't speak French, so he asked in their mother language, "Alix, do you . . . know anything about what's happening?"
Alix made a face that Adrien could only read as frustration. "Not yet grown Alix, remember?" She replied in the same hushed tone. "And no, she hasn't told me anything."
Chloe snorted and crossed her arms.
"But I think . . ." The red-haired girl took a deep breath. "I think if this is something that drastically changes the timeline, then she would've already interfered."
"So we'll make it out here alive at least," Chloe interpreted.
"This is something that's fated to happen," said Adrien. The stranger seemed to be looking at them. He froze. Does he understand us after all?
Adrien thought for a moment. There were temporary heroes in Paris who would take care of the city in their absence but if Luka and Kagami realized that they weren't communicating with them at all, they were bound to figure out that something was wrong. He swallowed, looking up at the miniscule window on the wall beside them. They could only hope to receive help.
He fiddled with his ring. If worse comes to worst, we might actually need to transform.
"Those people." Alix discreetly eyed the unknown boy. "How do you think Marinette knows them?"
"Mari was adopted, remember?" Chloe tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"But—but if she was in contact with people from her past, she would've told us, right?" Adrien's voice was weak. He always thought he knew his lady from front to back, never expecting buried secrets to come out from nowhere.
"Would she now?" Chloe mumbled.
The silence that hung in the air told them of the answer. Sure, Marinette had trusted them with her identity and her whole life even, but they knew she did keep things to herself if it could potentially hurt them.
"I remember when I first met her, she could get violent," Chloe recounted, looking down on her feet. "She was so guarded and so closed off."
Adrien himself recalled the time when they first revealed their identities. So this is what she was so afraid of, he thought, if we got too close to her . . .
Alix's brows knit together. "Does that mean those two guys are—"
"Her brothers," Chloe continued.
"Her brothers?!" Adrien gaped.
The blonde girl rolled her eyes. "Come on, isn't it obvious? They look alike. Pretty sure the other guy is Damian Wayne."
Adrien's eyes widened even more. No wonder he saw faces that looked familiar in that bus. "Like—like Bruce Wayne’s son Damian Wayne?"
Alix, too, had a look of utter disbelief. "You're saying Mari's biological brothers are Damian Wayne and . . ."
"Danny."
All three heads snapped up to the stranger. He took one look at them, grinned widely and continued in perfect French, "My name's Danny."
Adrien cleared his throat, feeling the color drain from his face. He switched to English, "Sorry, uhh, we didn't know . . ."
Danny waved his hand, "It's okay. Actually, my French is a little rusty." He chuckled. "Or so Marinette says."
Adrien stared at him, noticing for the first time how he resembled Marinette—Danny had the same blue eyes as him, the same glint hinting at trouble. But when his gaze strayed downwards, he saw the piece of cloth wrapped around his middle where Marinette had treated his wound.
"Are you okay?" It spilled out of his lips before he realized it.
Danny seemed confused for a second but then began to unwrap the makeshift bandage. "Oh this?" He lifted his shirt to reveal the cut. Dried bloodstains aside, the injury had healed completely, only appearing as a single reddish line on his skin.
"Good as new." Danny's tone of nonchalance worried Adrien a little.
Adrien swallowed. A gunshot wound shouldn't be able to heal as quickly. Now that he got a better look at Danny, he noticed how the boy's canines were a tad bit too sharp, and his ears were somewhat pointed. His blue eyes stood out against jet black hair but Adrien swore he saw it shimmer into a shade of green from time to time.
There was just something otherworldly about Danny.
"So you do know Marinette," Alix seemed to be scrutinizing him.
"Yes, I do. She is my sister." Danny nodded.
"Then do you also know what this place is and why we were taken?" Chloe questioned.
Danny drummed his fingers on his knee, as if contemplating. "You should probably hear it from Marinette, since it's her secret to tell. But I'll give you a rundown just so you're not in the dark."
"So we were born and raised in this . . . Organization, until we were about eight years old," Danny began, "It's called the League of Assassins, and it's the same one that captured us."
"League of Assassins," Chloe repeated, "Assassins. Like, killing people assassins?"
"Assassins in the literal sense." When Danny lifted his hand comb over his hair, Adrien caught a glimpse of the scars on his palm. "Our grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, was the head of the League. Now that he's gone, the members want an heir to take over the position. And as you should be able to tell, none of us want to do it so we were taken here by force."
Adrien felt his kwami shuffle around in his pocket.
Alix's eyes narrowed. "Ra's al Ghul. Why is that name so familiar?"
The corner of Danny's lips tugged upwards. "Oh you might know him because he once made a Wish."
It was coming back to Adrien now: one time he had asked Plagg if there ever was a time when a Wish was made, from combining the powers of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculi. The tiny god told him about Ra's al Ghul, a madman who created pools of immortality and rage named the Lazarus Pits.
The same lightbulb seemed to have gone off in Alix's head. "That guy! Wait a minute . . . you know about the Wish?"
"I know about everything, yeah." Danny tapped the base of his ring finger while looking towards Adrien. "The three of us rarely keep secrets from each other."
Adrien's breath hitched. Not only did Marinette constantly talk to her biological family, but she saw them trustworthy enough to share the secrets of Paris, the Miraculi, and her guardianship.
And she kept it from them the whole time.
"But how come you ended up getting separated? How did you get out of this League of Assassins?" asked Alix.
"There was a coup against our grandfather and our mother decided to send us away to keep us safe. She said it was better we're separated in case any trouble follows us." Danny shrugged. "The rest was our choice. Damian went to our father, and Marinette and I were taken into foster homes."
No matter how bizarre that sounded, it made sense. It explained Marinette's behavior from the past as Chloe described. It explained how Adrien had a feeling that she was more lethal outside the suit, how one second she could go from smiles and 'clumsiness' to steel cold looks and defensive stances.
Adrien didn't know what to feel. Had she been deceiving them? He swallowed the lump in his throat, hearing her adamant voice declaring how she hated liars.
Danny seemed to be reading his mind.
"You're probably thinking she's not the person you thought she is, right?"

Back at the club, Phantom is watching one of the performers running a soundcheck. He looks over at Natemare who’s standing by. “What do you think of an all-girl band?”
“Interesting, but how would you fit another band in when you’re fully booked?”  Natemare looks down at his brother curiously.
“Well, I’ll just have to make some sacrifices, won’t I?” Phantom stands up and pats Natemare’s shoulder as he passes by him. “Tell our girls I need to see them in my office, will you?”
Natemare only nods as he watches his brother head down the hall and disappear into a room. He looks at his wrist where a red symbol could be seen before disappearing into his skin. “What the fuck are you planning this time…”
“Hey!” Bones walks over to Mare. His smile turns into worry when he sees Mare looking at his wrist. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Natemare shakes off his thoughts and looks around. “Have you seen Lexi and Kimberly?”
“Uh, yeah, actually. They just got back. Why?” Bones raises an eyebrow, but before Mare can answer, the two girls walk into the room.
“Hey! What's up, you two?” Lexi smiles up at them.
“Nothing really, how was the thing you two went to see?” Mare smiles back and hugs them both after Bones does.
“It was a lot of fun! Got to see the girl Lexi wouldn’t stop talking about. She’s unbelievably pretty.” Kimberly pokes at Lexi’s cheek playfully.
“Shut up. Besides, did you see how her sisters were looking at you?”
“Shut up…” Kimberly playfully elbows her arm, making Bones giggle. Nervously laughing away her embarrassment, she looks over at Mare who’s staring off into space. “Smokey boy, you good?” She waves her hand in front of his face to get his attention.
Mare blinks before taking a step back. “What? Oh, yeah no, I’m fine. Uh, Phantom wanted to see you two in his office, by the way.”
“Right now?” Lexi looks over at him.
“Yeah, but hey, when you guys come out of there, can you find us and tell us what he says?”
“Sure thing. But are you sure you’re okay? You seem more off than usual.” Lexi gently squeezes his shoulder reassuringly.
“I’m fine, I’ll tell you two why when I know what he wants.”
“Alright, well, see you guys soon, then!” Lexi took Kimberly’s hand, leading her away from them and down the hall to Phantom’s office.
Knocking on the door, they hear Phantom tell them to come in.
“You wanted to see us, sir?” Both girls step inside, closing the door behind them.
“There you two are! My precious little gems!” Phantom brings them both into a hug. They feel a little awkward with how friendly their boss is being. “I was thinking,” He lets go of them and gestures to the two to take a seat by his desk. Picking up a flier, he hands it to Lexi. “Why don’t we welcome those newcomers? The sisters you told me about?”
He points to the flier that had an invitation to the club for their Friday night showcase. “Wouldn’t it be nice to introduce them to a place where they could come and relax when they want to take a break from things?” Phantom smiles as he pet and smoothes out Kimberly's hair. “I’m sure they’d love to see my leading lady perform on one of her biggest nights of the week.”
“This is for next week, it feels too late to say anything…” Lexi looks over the flier one more time before she looks up at him.
“It shouldn’t be an issue, it’s not like they have a schedule to uphold. They’re dead. What could they possibly have to do?” Phantom sits down in his chair. He rests his arms on his desk, looking up at them.
“Well no, they don’t really have much to do, but we can ask if they’d like to come. You know it’s up to them in the end.” Kimberly speaks up when she sees her boss grow more irritated by the second.
“You’re right. It's up to them in the end. Just make sure their decision is to come.”
“Yes, sir...we’ll do our best.” Lexi folds up the flier and puts it in her pocket. “Let’s go.” The girls make their way to the door, but are stopped before they can reach the doorknob. They hear Phantom speak again.
“Don’t forget! You two have a soundcheck bright and early tomorrow.” Phantom leans into the back of his chair, watching them leave his office.
------
Marie and Raven are sitting on the couch in the studio watching Anne pace back and forth. “Will you sit down? What’s up with you?”
“What’s up with me?! You guys know I don’t deal with change well.” Anne’s voice raises, almost becoming squeaky. “When you guys almost moved to go to college, when our puppy ran away, the fact that we died and came back?!” She looks at them on the brink of tears. “Then there’s the fact we can only be seen by this one girl until we find out we can actually be seen by everyone else when we perform with her?!”
Marie stands up, placing her hands on Anne’s shoulders squeezing them. “I know it’s a lot to take in, but can’t you see that this is an amazing opportunity? Anne, we can be the band we were always meant to be with (Y/n)’s help.”
“I know, you’re right, but- I just….it’s all too much to handle right now… how are you this calm?” Anne leans into Marie’s chest, letting herself cry.
“I’m the oldest, remember? My job is to worry about all of you first.” Marie gently pets Anne’s hair, kissing the top of her head and bringing Anne in closer to hold her against her chest.
Raven looks up at them feeling the same confusion as Anne. “You’re both right. It’s too much, but it’s what we have to work with. This could be a clue for our unfinished business.”
“A clue?” Marie looks over at Raven. “Maybe, but right now we gotta focus on what we can do to help (Y/n) before we help ourselves.”
Anne wipes her tears away with her sleeves. Taking a deep breath in, she nods. “Yeah, you’re right. She just ignored us when we got back to her…I think she was crying too…”
Raven glances at the door before she picks up her old stuffed animal. “We should go check on her. She just ran up to her room and didn’t say anything to us when we got back.”
“Alright, we’ll go check on her. Hopefully we can help in any way we can.” Marie looks at both of her sisters before they all disappear from the studio and reappear in your room.
When they look around, they immediately notice that your room used to be Anne’s room. The only thing that stayed the same was the yellow wallpaper with flowers on it. Everything else was yours.
“What are you guys doing here?”
The three girls look over to see you sitting in the middle of your bed with a bunch of papers in front of you. Anne is the first one to take a step forward when she sees your eyes are red from crying.
“We wanted to see if you were okay and maybe we could help cheer you up.” She looks down at you, giving you a warm smile.
You don’t know what it is about Anne, but she has a way making you feel safe around her. “I know you guys want to help, but Erica already made it clear she doesn’t want to be friends anymore. Even if I tell her the truth about you, there’s no way she’d believe me. I mean, who would believe I joined a ghost band? Erica would think I’ve gone off the deep end if I told her that.”
Anne looks around at the papers and picks one up when it catches her attention. “What are these?”
“They’re just notes and things we wrote to each other during middle school and high school. Like silly promises and stuff like that.”
Anne shows Raven and Marie the note giving them a look they both know very well. Anne definitely has an idea brewing in her head. Turning back to you, she grins. “What if you showed her we’re real? Ask her to come over to explain everything and bring her back to the studio. We can show her you weren’t trying to mislead her.”
“Okay, but exactly what are we going to do?”
“We’re going to use these notes and turn them into a song you can sing to her and we can perform with you!”
“Do you think this would work?”
“It’s worth a try, right?”
“I guess you’re right. Okay, I’ll text her and then we’ll get started on this song.”
After sending Erica a text asking her to come over in two hours, you and the girls head back into the studio, getting to work.
Back at the club, Lexi and Kimberly are walking out into the lobby when Bones and Mare spot them.
“Hey! So what happened?” Both boys look worried when their friends stay silent.
“Let’s get out here for a while. It’s our day off, let’s enjoy it.” Kimberly smiles, taking the lead and making her way out the front doors with the other three following behind.
“We should probably go to the park or anywhere else to talk about this.” Lexi looks around at the group.
They all agree and head to the park. It isn’t long until Mare starts asking questions again once they arrive at an empty table.
Pulling out the flier from her pocket, Lexi starts to explain the situation as much as she can. The boys stay silent, listening to every word, but still staying that way even after everything is said and done.
“I don’t trust it for a second, but maybe Phantom isn’t going to do anything at first. He’s evil, but smart. He’s not going to outright take them. He’d try to warm them up and convince them to come back again before he tries anything.” Bones looks determined, but a bit frightful at the thought of getting in Phantom’s way.
Mare looks at Lexi like an idea that popped into his head. “You’re friends with them, right? Why not go along with it? Convince them to stop by. Make it seem like everything is going his way, but we need to give them warnings. We can’t just flat out tell them everything, or else we’ll be put in orbs and on the shelf.”
“I don’t like that, it feels gross, honestly. I’d feel horrible.” Lexi frowns at the thought of actually going through with this plan.
“Try to do this. You want to help them, don’t you?”
“Yeah, of course I do.”
“Then we have to play the game and try to get a step further. Kimberly, why not talk to one of the other sisters? If one of them is a little hesitant about coming, the other one could probably convince the rest to come along.”
“Maybe I could try. I can’t guarantee anything.”
Bones smiles reassuringly, hoping the girls’ nerves will calm down a little. “We’ll give Phantom any updates he wants while you two are busy. We only have rehearsal tomorrow morning and you’re both free for the weekend. Use the time to talk to those sisters. We got this, okay?”
“Okay.” They both nod, still not completely agreeing with this plan.
“You guys should go right now, set up a time to meet up over the weekend and get this thing in motion.”
The girls look at each other and nod before disappearing.
Bones looks over at Mare, very concerned. “Do you think we’ll be able to do this?”
“Honestly? I have no idea.”
Standing outside of the studio, Lexi and Kimberly can hear someone talking. Peeking inside, they see (Y/n) and another girl sitting on the couch. Lexi looks around and spots the girls by their instruments.
Raven looks up and locks eyes with Lexi. Immediately grinning, she gestures for them to come in. Stepping inside, Kimberly waves at Marie and Anne, smiling at them. Raven points to a few chairs that are in the room. “Take a seat! We’ll only be a few.” She tilts her head over to you and Erica on the couch.
“I don’t know (Y/n), ghosts? If you’re not going to tell me the truth, you shouldn’t have called me over. Seriously, this isnt funny. I’ve been trying to get you to play music again after what happened to your dad, but the thing that got you out of your block was a ghost band? I don’t believe it.”
“Erica, I know it sounds completely insane, but just sit here and I’ll prove to you I’m not lying. Please, you obviously still trust me since you haven’t given up at this point.”
Rolling her eyes, Erica crosses her arms over her chest. “Fine, but after this, I’m calling your mom and telling her everything because this is seriously concerning.”
You grin, nodding and standing up from the couch. “Alright, that’s fair enough for me. The girls helped me write this when I was looking over those notes and letters we wrote each other over the years. It’s simply called Best Friend.” Walking over to the mic you look at the girls and nod, signaling that you're ready to start.
Marie smiles as she starts playing her guitar leading the song. The other two join in soon after.
You smile looking at Erica when you start singing. “Remember when you broke up with your fucking ex? God, I'm glad you've finally gotten over them. Only took about a hundred million texts. God, I swear that bitch was such a narcissist. Everybody knows I love you so, so, so, so much'Cause every time they ask, I always tell, tell, tell, tell them.“  Seeing Erica’s eyes widen a bit when she’s able to see the girls again while they're playing with you.
“That's my fuckin' best friend, that's my fuckin' right hand. That's my fuckin' throw-up-in-the-bathroom-but-still-love-them. That's my fuckin' best friend, best friend. That's my fuckin' best friend, best friend. That's my fuckin' lifeline, that's my ride or die like. That's my fuckin' hate-you-but-you-know-that-that's-a-damn-lie. Baby, you're my best friend, best friend. Baby, you're my best friend, best friend” Taking the mic off the stand you walk over to Erica and pull her up to her feet, guiding her over to the group.
“Made a promise that I'm gonna marry you. If we're both still single by, like, thirty-two. And that shit is gonna end up bein' true 'Cause I hate, like, everyone except for you. Who else is gonna grocery shop with me at 2 AM? Who else will take that picture for you just to get revenge? You're just as psycho as me, just as sick inside the head So when they ask, I've always said”
Wrapping arm around her shoulders you pull her into your side as you finish the song. Baby, you're my best friend, best friend/ Baby, you're my best friend, best friend.”
Looking around at the sisters, Erica reaches out her hand to touch Raven’s arm, but it phases right through her. ”Holy shit, you were telling the truth!”
The girls disappear from Erica’s sight, but they’re still in the studio with everyone.
“I told you I was being honest. I’m sorry for not telling you the truth before, but you said it yourself. You couldn’t believe it, so I had to prove it to you instead. Forgive me?”
“You’re forgiven, but no more secrets, okay?”
“I promise. No more secrets.” Erica laughs and hugs you tightly.
“You’re free this weekend, right? Let’s have a movie night!”
Nodding in excitement, you take her hand and almost bolt out of the studio. Anne hears about the movie night and shouts out to you “Wait, I wanna join! What movie are you going to watch!?” Instantly, she disappears, following you two into the house.
Raven walks over to Lexi, taking her hand and helping her to her feet. “So, what's with the surprise visit?” She leads Lexi to sit on the couch with her.
“I wanted to see you, again in all honesty. We’re only working tomorrow morning for the weekend, so I wanted to see if you wanted to hang out with me while I have the time. It’s really nice talking to you, Raven.”
Raven giggles when she sees a faint blush on her cheeks. “I’d love to! It’s been really fun to have you to talk to, and, well, not just for advice, but I actually really love spending time with you, Lexi.”
Lexi grins, trying her hardest not to freak out. “I feel the same way. I um, I was thinking we could hang out at the park for a bit before going anywhere else. I just like going around there before and after work, just to clear my head.”
Raven nods excitedly. “That's understandable. Would you like to meet in the afternoon?”
“Yeah, sounds perfect!”
Marie smiles as she takes the empty seat next to Kimberly. “Hey, you. Didn’t think I would get to see you again so soon.”
“Ah, well, we're just at the club we work at and we were told that we only have morning rehearsals with most of the weekend off. Lexi wanted to see if Raven wanted to hang out with her and, um, I kinda wanted to see if you maybe wanted to hang out with me?”
Marie smiles and giggles, seeing the girl in front of her become a bit flustered. “That sounds fun, I’d love to! Plus if it gets me more time with a cutie like you, I’m definitely not skipping this chance.”
Giggling, Kimberly shakes her head. “I bet you say that to all the ghost girls.”
“Only the cute ones, and so far, it’s only been you.”
“Oh my gosh.”
Marie only grins, seeing her face get redder. “So when and where, sweetheart?”
Kimberly looks at her shoes for a moment before looking back up at Marie “Um, I was thinking we could walk around Hollywood for a while and just see where the day takes us. Maybe we can meet by the walk of fame around two?”
“Oh! It’s been literally years since I’ve visited Hollywood! I’d love to!” Marie grins and dances excitedly in her seat.
“Great! So I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“It’s a date! See you tomorrow!”
Kimberly grins and stands up, walking over to Lexi who’s getting up from the couch.
“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?” She smiles at Raven as she stands up with her.
“Yeah, see you tomorrow!”
Lexi and Kimberly wave goodbye to the sisters before they disappear, heading back to the club.
Raven and Marie look at each other in silence for a few seconds before they both get goofy grins on their faces, getting excited for the next day.
