Tumblr media
──────────────────────
the marauders was a tight knit group of friends, of course on top of the other friends they had but just them no one could come between them— except their own. sirius didn’t mean for it to happen the way it did but it was the biggest betrayal remus has ever encountered so it split the group up or really sirius being not apart of it.
everyone stopped talking to him, he deserved it but he beat himself up for it, he couldn’t sleep in the dorm and he couldn’t even feel okay sleeping in your dorm since all the girls were on remus’ side.
he was currently sat watching the fire on the couch in the common room, thinking of millions of things. maybe he was who his parents said he was, maybe being around all these kind people made him forget who he actually was, maybe— his thoughts were cut short when he felt someone touch his shoulder from behind him.
he jumped a bit turning around to see you in your pajamas with a cardigan tugged around your torso. he softened as he met your eyes but his shoulders were still stiff, his mind was still yelling at him. it got worse when you started to make your way around the couch seeing how upset he was, he watched as you gently sit down beside him and grab his hand softly.
he didn’t lock his fingers the way you did.
you don’t deserve her. you don’t deserve her. you don’t deserve her. he repeatedly said to himself in his head. he doesn’t deserve anyone, so he let go of your hand causing you lips to curve down a little.
“sirius?” you said lightly, he didn’t move he just stared at the fire.
“i don’t deserve you, i don’t.. i don’t deserve anything from you.” he spoke, you could tell he was already getting choked up but you didn’t move letting him get his emotions out.
“i did something horrible to- to someone you has done everything for me, remus has done everything good for me from the moment i sat down next to james on the train. he didn’t judge me for my last name or my family. for anything. a-and i did everything wrong to him in one single night. everyone hates me, yo— you should hate me, i need someone else to hate me and tell me how horrible i am. everyone is so quiet around me or they look at me oddly. i need someone to tell me— i need someone to tell me how wrong i am, how i am exactly like who my mother told me i am.” he ranted, sirius started to cry leaning over to hold his head in his hands, pulling at his long locks.
“sirius,” you put your hand on his back but he moved away, this time you didn’t pull away. you grabbed his hand from his head grabbing his face gently so he could look at you but he moved his face again.
“sirius. yes, you did something wrong. and yes, remus has every right to be mad and yes everyone is entitled to be upset— especially remus, you know that,” you spoke, you couldn’t lie to him but you loved sirius dearly so lying won’t work.
“but you are nothing like what your mom told you or who she forced you to be, nothing. you will never be that. you have the sweetest heart and people do things that they shouldn’t do. you have to learn and know what you did wrong for you to forgive yourself. you have got to stop sitting down here all night and beating yourself up, not sleeping, drinking when your mind gets to heavy, going to class late. you can’t do that.” he shakes his head as he listens, why are you being so sweet?
“no! you don’t understand. i am not who everyone thinks i am, this is who i am.” sirius looks at you eyes full of tears, you shook your head as you felt the sting in your eyes as tears started to form, he was so deep in head he was convincing himself that he was a horrible person because of this.
“no, sirius. this is not who you are!” you slightly raised your voice, he looked up at you listening to you for the first time, actually listening . “you did something wrong, yes. okay? but your whole word is not ending, you are not falling to the wrong side because of this. sirius, remus needs time. you have to give yourself time. you’re moving to fast, you’re listening to every single thought that pops into your mind. you can’t do that.” you talk, he listens. as you finish he lets out a sob shaking his head multiple times.
he easily falls into your body making you fall back onto the couch, half his body is off of you so it doesn’t hurt.
“why don’t you hate me like everyone else does?” he speaks into your collarbone where his head lays, you feel his breath on your free skin.
“one bad thing doesn’t defy who you are.” you speak softly as you bring one hand to his hair. he begins to sob again.
the prank that sirius did was wrong but you loved sirius, you also loved remus and sirius knew that so he pushed you away. he ignored you, you let him but as he went into a hole you couldn’t anymore. you saw him sleep on the couch (more of him staring off into nothing.) you noticed the way he come into class looking messy, the bottles beside the couch in the morning.
he needed someone to tell him what he needed to hear, you gave him his space because sirius is hard headed when it comes to his emotions. he shuts everyone out when he comes home from a bad break at his home, he doesn’t mean to. it’s just what he grew up with. he never had anyone, he always comforted his younger brother not being able to bare regulus with more. so he did it all by himself.
so that’s why you came down tonight knowing he was going to be there awake— thinking.
you let sirius cry as you held him, another night sirius black cried himself to sleep after the prank but he had someone for once. he let his emotions out in front of someone, he let someone help him.

“Y/N! Hey, Y/N, wait up!” You pulled the earbud out of your ear as the voice of your very loud best friend seemed to penetrate the volume of your music. You stopped in your tracks to turn around and face her.
Park Jihyo: your best friend, the Girl’s Varsity Golf Captain, soloist for the school’s choir, and your secret crush of six years. She came running at you with a wide smile that practically split the girl’s face in two as she made it to your side, “I have news! Y/N you’re not gonna believe it!”
You winced at her lack of volume control when she was excited as you looked around sheepishly at the people staring at the two of you, “Hello to you too, Ji. I want to hear the news, but first volume.”
A slight blush colored her cheeks as she laughed a little at herself, “Right, sorry.” The two of you continued walking as she waited to be out of earshot of anyone else before stopping you with a hand that gripped your forearm, “You’ll never guess who asked me out.” Her small figure was practically vibrating from excitement, “Chou Tzuyu!”
Your best friend squealed as she danced in place, you were happy for her, you really were. You just couldn’t help the stab of pain you felt to your heart every time she told you about her crushes, there were many but none of them were ever you. So you continued to play your role as the supportive best friend as you smiled excitedly for her, “Oh my god, that’s incredible! You’ve been crushing on her ever since she moved here! So does that mean you’ll become First Lady, Park Jihyo, to our Class President?” You wiggled your eyebrows suggestively, teasing her.
Jihyo just rolled her eyes as she pushed you away, “Shut up, that’s stupid!” She shook her head as the two of you continued the short walk to your house where you both congregated after school to study, it was a lot quieter than the Park residence. “She wanted to go out on Saturday, so I have like two days to prepare.”
You nodded as you pulled your house keys out of your pocket, sliding it into the lock before pushing the door open, “What’re you gonna do? Dye your hair a new color? Practice kissing your hand?” You continued teasing her as you both slipped off your shoes - your parents were out of town till next week - and began walking up the stairs to your room.
“Uh! Why do I even tell you things, you’re such a weirdo!” Jihyo threw her backpack onto the floor by your bed before flopping onto it. You laughed as you threw your backpack next to hers before sitting beside her on your bed.
Your smile was still wide as you poked her in the side, “Because you love me and entrust me with every secret.”
She waved her hand at you dismissively before she suddenly shot up into a sitting position, the quickness in her movements shocked the both of you as she suddenly had a look of fear in her eyes, “Y/N, what if she wants to kiss me!? I’ve never kissed anyone before!” Jihyo looked at you in horror, “What if I’m a terrible kisser!?”
You couldn’t help but look at her in humorous confusion, “Jihyo, what? Where is this even coming from?” You smiled, shaking your head, “Kissing isn’t even that big of a deal, you won’t ‘suck’ you’re just gonna be new to it. I’m sure Tzuyu will understand. Hell, maybe you’ll be her first kiss too.”
But it didn’t seem like your words had any effect on her, “Highly doubt that, but of course you’re gonna say ‘kissing isn’t even that big of a deal’, you’ve kissed people before, Y/N. I haven’t!”
You just rolled your eyes good-naturedly as you looked at her, “What? You wanna practice with me or something?”
In an instant you almost saw the lightbulb go off above your best friend’s head, “Y/N, you’re a genius!” You looked at her in confusion again for what felt like the hundredth time in an hour, “Why don’t I practice kissing with you, so I won’t feel like an idiot with Tzuyu.”
It felt like all the air had been sucked out of your lungs as your jaw dropped, “What!?”
Jihyo shrugged, “Don’t they do it all the time in movies? You’re my best friend Y/N, just think of it like I’m asking you for advice.”
You shook your head in disbelief, “Hyo, you’re asking me to kiss you. Aren’t you worried this might make things awkward?”
But Jihyo didn’t seem to see the problem with it, “We’ve walked into each other changing before, I think we’ll be okay.” Then a hint of clarity seemed to hit her as she suddenly got shy, “Unless you really don’t want to. If you think it’ll be too awkward I’ll stop pushing it.”
You sighed as you weighed the pros and cons of the next sentence out of your mouth, without really letting the rational part of your brain get a say. You answered her, “Okay, Ji, I’ll help you.”
The nearly blinding grin broke out again on Jihyo’s face as she hugged you, “Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’m gonna go brush my teeth.” Your best friend left your room as you collapsed onto your bed, the weight of what was about to happen finally hitting you as you stared blankly at the ceiling.
Your best friend, no, your crush of six years had asked you to help her practice kissing and you had said, ‘Yes!’ You rubbed your face with your hands as you groaned, “I’m an idiot.” But a small, selfish part of you couldn’t be happier at the turn of events as you could hear Jihyo coming back, ‘Might as well make this better than anything Chou Tzuyu could ever give her.’
The rays of the setting sun spilled in through your bedroom window as you and Jihyo sat across from each other on your bed. An awkward silence filled the room as the weight of what the two of you were about to do finally seemed to hit. Jihyo fidgeted under your gaze as you breathed out deeply, “You still sure about this?”
The dark haired girl nodded as she regained some of her usual confidence, “Yeah, it’s like what I tell my teammates all the time, ‘Practice makes perfect’.” She laughed a little to herself as you both felt the tension start to lessen, “Why are we so awkward? This isn’t a big deal, just practice.”
You nodded as you tried to find some part of yourself that would agree that this was no “big deal”. Finally you relented your quelled feelings as you smiled, “You’re right, let’s just get to the lesson. First, I’m gonna show you how to just kiss someone. Second, I’m gonna show you how to kiss someone when it gets a little more serious. Are you okay with that?”
Jihyo’s giddiness seemed to return as she nodded excitedly, “Yes, let’s do this.”
You couldn’t help but find her eagerness adorable as you stood up, before offering your hand to her and pulled her to stand as well. There was barely any distance between the two of you as you put a shaky hand against her waist and reached a hand up to cradle her cheek. You licked your lips to wet them as you spoke, “Okay, lick your lips just a little.” You watched as Jihyo’s tongue darted out ever so slightly before looking at you for more instructions, “I’m gonna start leaning in now, tilt your head a little to the right and meet me halfway. Don’t force it, just let it happen naturally.”
Your best friend nodded as you made sure the very last bits of your feelings for her were locked deep within the deepest reaches of your soul when you suddenly felt her lips meet yours. It was an innocent press of lips against the others before you broke away for the briefest of moments and deepened it. You put the smallest amount of pressure behind your actions as Jihyo quickly adapted and began kissing back harder, your hand against her waist began moving and caressing the exposed skin of her shirt that had ridden up. Before the two of you got carried away with the first lesson, you reluctantly broke the kiss as you stepped a little out of Jihyo’s reach before you dropped your hands back to your sides.
You cleared your throat awkwardly, “That was good. You’re a quick learner to change.” You nodded to yourself as Jihyo looked at you expectantly.
“What about the second lesson?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat, “Right, if or when things start heating up between you and…Tzuyu,” You tried not to show any hint of jealousy at the name, “you’ll want to know how to, I guess, make out.”
The dark haired girl nodded, “And that's different how?”
“You use your tongue.” You stated bluntly as you watched Jihyo cringe a little, “It’s not as gross as you might think,” You chuckled as you stepped back into the bobbed haired girl’s personal space and allowed your hands to naturally gravitate to her hips, “We’re gonna start off like we did last time, but this time I’m gonna open my mouth and I want you to let your tongue come out a bit. Don’t shove it into my mouth, that’s gross, just go with the flow.” She looked at you a bit in apprehension before nodding.
“Okay, I’m ready.” You gave her another smile as you took a second to study her face, you had probably done that a thousand times over but you still couldn’t help but admire how gorgeous she was. But you quickly stopped that train from leaving the station as you closed your eyes and began leaning in again.
The press of Jihyo’s lips against yours felt like two puzzle pieces fitting together, her past apprehensions of the first kiss seemed to disappear as she met your lips with confidence, you didn’t do anything other than kiss for a little before you began opening your mouth ever so slightly. You felt the tentative brush of Jihyo’s tongue against your lips as you took it as a sign to make the first move. Your tongue moved to greet hers as they met in a dance, both of you taking turns leading the kiss in whatever way either of you felt was right. As the kiss continued your hands had wandered from her waist to having a hand on her back and another running up and down her side as she crossed her arms behind your neck to pull you in closer.
You could tell the kiss was beginning to get out of hand, but you figured if she didn’t want to stop neither did you. So you both continued the ever growing passionate kiss when you suddenly pulled Jihyo in closer, the unexpectedly possessive action released an accidental moan from the girl you had been making out with. The noise was loud and as plain as day, you both pulled away, startled. Your faces were flushed as you just stared at each other, awkwardness quickly descended upon the silent room.
You couldn’t handle the tension as you cracked under the pressure, “Well, I hope that helped, I’ll see you tomorrow I guess. At least Tzuyu will be getting the best now.” You awkwardly made finger guns at your equally awkward best friend who quickly picked her backpack up and swung it over her shoulders.
“Uh, yeah, thanks Y/N. I’ll let myself out.” Jihyo gave you a shy smile as she left your room.
You waited till you heard the front door close as you groaned loudly, “What the fuck was that!? Oh my god! She moaned, into my mouth, while I was kissing her! Oh my god!” You fell back into your bed as you rolled around in a confusing blend of emotions, “What the fuck are we gonna do tomorrow!? Pretend it never happened?”
Evidently, the next two days consisted of not being able to even look at each other or even stand being within the same vicinity as each other, which definitely strained your shared friend group who had no idea what had happened between the two of you.
But you couldn’t help but find the irony of it all so funny, ‘Not gonna be awkward my ass.’
Saturday had finally rolled around and you had not spoken to Jihyo in two days, both of you were too nervous to even try to start a conversation with the other. So you sat home alone, a bowl of instant ramen in front of you, binge watching a show you had been meaning to catch up on when you got free time. A distant part of your brain remembered Jihyo had her date with Tzuyu today, but that little box you had trapped your feelings in had been bleeding out ever so slowly since the day you had kissed her.
You knew it was a selfish thing to think, but you silently hoped that the date wouldn’t go well. You had been in love with Jihyo since you guys were twelve. A frown formed on your lips at the thought of Tzuyu having the one person you had truly wanted your whole life. Then a knock at your door startled you out of your self-loathing as you checked the peephole to see Jihyo standing on the other side.
You instantly opened the door for your best friend as you took in her expression, you couldn’t exactly pinpoint the exact feelings but you could tell she was upset. You swallowed the bubble of anxiety in your throat, “Hyo, what happened? What’s wrong?” Your voice was full of concern as your best friend looked almost angry at you.
“It didn’t feel right.” You quirked an eyebrow in confusion as she ran a frustrated hand through her hair, “I kissed her again and again, but it just didn’t feel right.”
Your mouth was slightly agape, “Are you saying Tzuyu’s a bad kisser?”
Jihyo threw her hands up, exacerbated, “No! I’m saying that when I kissed her, the person of my dreams, all I could picture was how much better I felt when I kissed you.”
You could feel your blood run hot as your heartbeat felt like it was beating out of your chest, “What are you trying to say, Ji?” You couldn’t explain what it felt like to stare into the eyes of your secret crush of almost six years as it seemed your world was either about to crumble around you or you were about to be sent to cloud-nine.
“I..I,” Jihyo inhaled as she gathered up all the courage she could muster, “I think I like you, Y/N.” Your heart immediately jumped into your throat and your stomach did somersaults at the admission, an overwhelming wave of emotions took over your entire being as you just stared at your best friend. At your lack of a response Jihyo could slowly feel her heart crack, she thought she had just thrown away the best friendship she had ever had. “Y/N, I’m..I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said anything. That was really stu…”
Before she could finish, you did the one thing that you could think of to stop the racing thoughts of doubt you knew were clouding her mind as you immediately pulled her in by her waist, your guy’s eyes met for a moment before you kissed her. She tensed against you for the briefest of seconds before melting into the kiss as well, her hands going up to cradle your cheek as you poured every ounce of love you had been building up since the day you knew she was the one for you.
When the two of you eventually pulled away for air your eyes remained closed as your foreheads rested against each other’s, your breaths mingling as you both chuckled lightly. You finally opened your eyes to find Jihyo staring back at you, “I like you too, Hyo, I think I’ve been in love with you since the day we met.”
The raven haired girl laughed lightly as she pressed herself closer to you, “I’m sorry it took me so long to realize.”
“Better late than not at all.” You cracked a smile as you squeezed her hip lightly. “Are you still mad at me for a bad first kiss?”
Jihyo rolled her eyes playfully, “You were my first kiss, Y/N, now shut up and kiss me, you idiot.”
You laughed, “Gladly.” Before leaning in to capture her lips again.

I guess we aren't "just" friends anymore~
Tumblr media
__________________________________
Summary: You find out Eddie's secret which leads to something more. Something other than being friends.
Warnings: Cursing, very little talks of neglect or abuse, mentions of divorce, mentions of jerking off and cheating, I kinda didn't edit this much
This fanfic is 80 percent fluff and 20 percent of the warnings. So this contains slightly sensitive things as said in the warnings. If you don't like anything like that then I warn you to scroll past this.
________________________________________
It's okay to cry sometimes isn't it? You hoped it is, and you wished it was. You watch silently as the typical fight between your parents started in the middle of the night. Your father came home... Drunk.
You mother was in tears as she stood from the couch, looking at her husband who had kiss marks and hickeys all over his cheek and neck. Obviously all tears this shit of a family sheds is fake, specially your step-mothers.
You could hear it, you can see it. You were right Infront of it. Bottles crashing, hitting each other, screams getting louder and harsher with every response they gave to each other. Why couldn't they just move on and go their own ways?
Certainly you were eager to know. But at the same time afraid that it'll lead you to harsher secrets. You weren't sure how much worse this situation could get so if you wanted answers or not you had to do what your parents say.
"Go to your room you fucking disgrace!" He yelled at you as he slammed his palm against the table, throwing a glass as it almost hit you.
Your eyes dart in shock for a quick moment. Used to his remarks, you quickly follow scrambling in your feat as tears threatened to roll down you cheeks.
You climbed upstairs and slammed your door behind you. Wiping away your tears and forcing yourself to stop crying. The screams were muffled. Heading into your wardrobe you angrily grabbed a leather bag. Messily stuffed a few clothes in their and goodbye you go through... The window.
Yes, the typical escape and entry route if you want to keep a secret.
And there's only one person to go to in these types of times. Eddie "the freak" Munson. You had to be honest you felt kinda bad that you always had to rely on Eddie when you have problems. Are you burdening him? Probably. But what could you do? He was the one and only.
But on second thought it may be better if you find a place for yourself soon, instead of trashing his. I mean, he said he didn't mind.
You took a cab to his place considering it was gonna be a long walk if you didn't. It was also late at night already, who knew what kind of creeps were wandering around.
As you were lost in your thoughts, it felt like a split second just before you arrived. Taking out a loud sigh, you knocked on the door of the trailer, hoping someone would at least answer. A few minutes later you thought nobody could hear you, or maybe no one was there. "Hah... This is useless..." You groan, rolling your eyes tiredly.
It was almost the perfect timing, just as you were about to knock the door opened with a short squeek.
There behold Eddie with closed eyelids as he had a hard time spotting you, squinting his eyes. You giggle. He really shouldn't open doors this late at night or someone might come stab him with the way he was literally just dozing off standing up in his shirt and shorts. You were glad he did for you though.
"Ehm, can I come in?"
"Huh..? Y/n? S' that you?"
"You really can't see me clearly can you? Eds you need to be careful, you might get kidnapped-" You whispered teasingly, tip toe-ing to reach him. He lazily rubbed his eyes as a grin flashed his face, "I prolly should huh..." He was finally awake as he chuckled curtsying for you to go inside jokingly.
You roll your eyes playfully but went inside anyway, placing your bag on a chair. You inhaled deeply as you take in the smell of burnt cigarettes. That scent was like home, it made you reassure yourself that Eddie was with you.
"What're you doing here anyways? Did you run outta food again?" Eddie chuckles, walking towards you. You smile. "Yeah something like that..." you say, glancing back at him. He knows something's wrong when you talk like that. And he didn't like it a single bit.
"Anything wrong?"
"Uhm, kinda. Y'know, before I tell you about the shit. Am I bothering you? Because uhm..." You look over at the magazines scattered around the table as his face lightly blushed with embarrassment. Unfortunately, were not gonna go on detail with the magazines today. He quickly gathers them tucking them in at one hidden corner as he gave a grin.
"A-and you aren't bothering me at all by the way-!" He reminds. "Uhuh... So moving on... It's about my parents. Y'know...-"
"Their business? It's still going well right? Y'know the campaign ya told me bout'?"
"Uhm, no. Ya see, when, I was explaining that. I uh kinda joked about it."
"You lied?" Eddie stared wide eyed.
"Uh no, not necessarily but..." Your eyes wandered of to the wall. "But..?"
"My parents are, not the best. Their fighting around throwing shit at each other. My dad cheated on my mom and my mom's just a gold digger wanting money. And then-"
Eddie was shocked. "So you lied? About everything..?" You gasped aloud, "no no I didn't mean to lie to you! It's just that I didn't want anyone worrying and I'm sorry if you feel hurt that I lied to you about everything. I promise-"
He hugged you. He embraced you in his warmth so tightly you felt like you would never get free from this embrace. Which on another basis doesn't sound bad at fucking all. "I'm not hurt you lied to me sweetheart. I'm hurt you lied to me saying that you were okay when you aren't. I... Y'know I noticed that one long scar on your wrist... I knew something wasn't right. But-"
You trembled, your lips trembled. You were fucking glad he understood you. You hoped he'd understand you, and you knew he'd understand you. Just like every other time. "Y'know... it's okay to cry sweetheart." He gently whispered, caressing your hair as you burst into tears.
"Eddie I knew you'd understand. Daz why I always come to you even though I feel like a fucking burden." Your voice breaks, cracking at every word which seemed to break Eddie's heart in turn. "Nah sweetheart, who ever told you to that you were a fuckin' burden?" He swings you around in his embrace. Almost like dancing.
"And the scar- who the fuck did that shit to you?"
You sniffle loudly, smelling the faint smell of cigarettes . "Dad..." Your voice sounding not more than a whisper as you try to speak properly. "I'll fucking kill that bastard one day."
You gave a light chuckle, "you won't Eddie. Just cause' he hurt me doesn't mean you can kill him y'know..." you knudge him playfully. "Also, my arms are staring to ache Eds. We can hug later." You giggle, wiping away your tears as both of you finally let go after hugging for minutes straight. At some fucking point you regret saying to let go of each other. You wanted another hug.
"And on second thought, you didn't walk here did ya? What if you came across some pervs there!? You could've been in danger... Or what if-!" He continues pondering loudly as both of you took a seat.
You smile at his silliness plopping yourself comfily on the chair. Ruffling his hair a bit, "I took a cab Eds" you sigh, glad at least someone was looking after you with care.
"A cab... But what if the driver-!"
"No Eddie, nothing bad happened."
He sighed in relief though it felt like he was gonna pounce on someone any time now with how his mood is. A moment of comforting silenced past before you decided to break the silence between you. "Today's Thursday isn't it?" You mumbled out just enough for him to hear as he glances over at the calendar on the wall.
"Oh yeah... It's our little anniversary don'tcha remember? You said you'd make us breakfast right~?" Eddie grinned.
"Damn I completely forgot about the whole 'date thingy'-!" You groaned in defeat. It was you and Eddie's 8th anniversary of being close friends. And your celebrating it tomorrow Friday. A few days ago he did you a big favour, and you regret insisting on repaying it back. "But it's not a date sweetheart... Unless you want it to be- ow!"
You pulled his hair playfully, messing it up more than it already is. He pulled on your cheeks playfully, making them redder and redder as he kept poking on them. "Can you stop squishing my cheek-!" You squeeled, "you started it brat." he chuckled charmingly.
He lifted you up and down the couch as you were now laying on your back with him on top of you. The tip of his hair slightly touching your face as a moment of silence occured, with both you looking at each others eyes before...
"Hey you little-!"
You reached over his waist and tickled him just as he did to you, both of you interchanging positions from time to time. Giggles and laughter exploded within the room making both you smile momentarily before proceeding to laugh again. With him now below you on his back, you slung an arm over his should and let your body fall on him relaxed. Your head was on his chest as he straightened your tangled hair gently. You huffed out a loud sigh, "hey, y'know, just earlier today... Dustin told me that you had a little crush on me."
How the fuck did he say that so casually?
You gulped eyes wide as you lifted you head to look at him. "S' that true sweetheart?" he asked caressing you face as both of you sat down beside each other. Not leaving eye contact, "well yeah... I mean no, I actually uh... yeah?" You took a deep breath. "I like you Eddie, and maybe... Soon I'll eh, love ya?"
"I fuckin' knew it, shit!"
An 'eh!?' left your mouth silently. As you stared in disbelief, he chuckled. "Princess I know the way you fucking stare daggers at me when I talk to other girls. And believe me, they don't wanna talk, I don't wanna, but I kinda fucking have to." He explained slowly, as you began to relax and release the tension in your body.
"And also... that's kinda... why, I had those magazines on my table?"
Now you were shocked, if you were so shocked earlier that you couldn't speak. Well certainly you were so shocked now your eyeballs boutta' pop out. "You- you- you-" a blushed dared to be on your face as you were fuming with embarrassment. "To be real, I'm the one that should be embarrassed but seeing you like this isn't that bad at all." He grins laughing lowly.
You covered you face with your hands as Eddie gently tried to playfully pry them open.
"S-so, you thought..? About me?"
He grins. "Well, I guess we aren't just friends anymore~! Y'know, maybe our friendship anniversary tomorrow could turn into a-!"
"You fucking pervert, I find out you were jerking off thinking about me and you grin at me!?" You said in embarrassment, as you stood you and took a pillow to shield your bodily soul. "Hey the fuck you doing that for!? I'm not gonna do anything dirty yknow!?"
"Like hell I'll fucking believe that you pervert!"
(Side not, idk how many times I edited this thing because Tumblr wasn't updating my edits- like why!?")
You began to run to his room, locking the door behind you. "Hey, where you going?" He calls out standing up from the couch as he sees you go into his room. "Excuse me miss!? That's my room!"
"I don't care, go away pervert!"
"I said I'm not!"
"You are!" You helplessly shouted back.
"Not! C'mon sweetheart lemme in!"
The next day... The neighbors complained about you both being too loud. Because y'all were screaming at each other. Of course not anything dirty... All the smut will come in the next chapter...

Thoughts of Teen Wolf the Movie while watching it pt.3
Coach!😃
Derek still sneaking around corners and just randomly appearing 😂 "🎶I always feel like somebody's watching me🎶"
Feel like Derek could scare Eli himself...give him that s1 Derek stare "I'm not afraid of you" 😠 "okay maybe I am afraid of you"
Eli is so me, clumsy af😭
Derek "😠" Hale
Malia! you can't just cut people open🤦‍♀️
Make the plan. Execute the plan. Expect the plan to go wrong...throw away the plan
Man Allison pulled a Derek 🏃‍♀️💨
Allison's tweaking dudes
Why the hospital lockers look like the ones at high school? Would've been coll if that was one of Nogi's illusions to manipulate her
She's very confused and is supposed to be very dead
Split up!?! One of the biggest rules in horror movies is to never split up
Cause a ball cap is such a good disguise 🧢👍
I got her 👊💥🤛💥🤜💥 I don't got her
"Fuck me man" me whenever my alarm wakes me up for school😭
Allison is karate kid 👍
"Scott Who?" ...oop
"Where's the alpha, I have to find the alpha." "What do you want with Derek Hale?" "No, not Hale. McCall. Scott McCall." Vibes. Oh no, now Braedon flashbacks for me😢
Where is Braedon?! She's supposed to be Eli's badass step-mama
Damn to be honest, I wouldn't have taken that. Woulda thrown them scissors back at that zombie bitch ✂️🧟‍♀️
Poor Argent, imagine the pain of seeing your daughter again after 11 years of her being dead and she runs away
Move, bitch! We know she's back, now let us go catch her🙄
But...isn't it your job to hear about the crimes...sheriff?
oh never mind😂
How didn't he know he was a kitsune? Wouldn't weird shit start happening to him like it did Kira? C'mon you can't tell me this man ain't never got his picture taken w/ the flash on before
Could've made him Hikari's family in some way to add some emotional depth for her and give her more ties to the pack
Or he could've been a host for Nogi like his dad I think? If his brother was that one dude wouldn't that make his dad the man who was possessed by Nogi during Chris's first gun deal?
"I don't want to kill you" oh really?👀
🎶I wish that I could wake up with amnesia🎶
So the hunter thingy place is still here but Monroe's peeps are gone🤨
"who are you🏹" "a friend👹" yea okay Pennywise🤚
Nogitsune: "time to hunt" Pennywise:"time to float" I rest my case
No i would not trust my mother who's a psychotic bitch, especially when she looking at me like I just took the last shrimp fried egg roll that she wanted to save for later😑
bitch so was you 30 minutes ago ⚰
Hey don't talk about my smexy dilf werewolf man Derek like that
Oop, that light was a paid actor
Omg I love Jackson 😂 I never thought I'd say that😶
hahaha Derek holding Eli like a baby
"Yes you did, I saw it🥺"
Man Derek such a good dad, got me all up I my feels
I wonder how Talia was as a parent, especially with Derek since he had such trouble learning control 🤔
Man, Allison honestly fuck you. You had to ruin a good father-son moment by trying to take off Eli's head smh I could never. Stay unproblematic people💅
Not the Chinese ring daggers
Honestly flashbacks to the supply closet when Allison told Isaac that. Hey, wait a minute...no one thought to tell Isaac that his late girlfriend is back (bc they were still together when she died)
"Allison?" No bitch it's Katniss🙄
Hey foul play! You shot my man's while his back was turned!! Now you turn around allison, it's my turn! Imma pull a Peter...Peter where u at, she attacking your fav nephew, Kate her ass
Yayy Liam
dude Hikari that was fire 🔥 (no pun intended 🤣; I'm so sorry guys)
Awww he don't even care if he's hurting himself worse, he just cares about his son🥺
Shut up, Scott! Let the man talk!
Damn Scott, couldn't even take my man's pain?
Everyone but Stiles, Isaac, Theo, Kira, Cora, Corey, Hayden, and Braeden... *clears my throat and looks directly at the camera*
The oni really said, "Suprise shawty!"
I knew I should've retired 🤣🤣
Awww first thing he said was his son's name
if this was a short series we totally should've got a scene of Eli, similar to the scene where Scott Howard first transforms in the og teen wolf movie, and then he just passes out. It would've been so funny😭
I'm sorry but the song that popped in my head when that oni floated down was 🎶I'm spinning like a ballerina🎶
Why's mason's gun sound like its popping popcorn
Sheriff Stilinski said, I can be a ninja toooo
Peter's entrance is iconic and so him, such a western-soap opra villain😂
Deaton and Chris:🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️
oh c'mon Peter, I thought we were past the whole throat slashing thing😬
How does Peter always know everything 🤔
Also I want to see Eli and Peter bonding, feel like they should have a relationship ay peast similar to when Derek and Peter were younger (hell I just want to see young Derek and Peter again, give me a Hale prequel)
Peter: "Is it me? Am I the drama?"
Ofc they have a plan Scott 🙄 not everyone just makes it up as they go and pretends that hunters aren't dangerous (that's always pissed me off about Scott, not everyone is redeemable)
Allison Argent that is a child
There's gonna be an explosion
There was an explosion
Jackson worried about his tail, please bye💀🤚
Would've been better if it was actually an illusion and not really Allison
You better hobble a little faster Eli
Oh, you can't hobbled fast but ur ass can climb
Me personally, I woulda stayed in that car
"Allison stop" bc that'll work🙄
Damn Scott pulled a Satomi, nice. Why he look confused though, you forget you have supernatural reflexes my guy?🤨
lmao not him trying negotiate as she shoots arrows at them
oh but what if I'm not a werewolf? Really Eli HALE?!
Pretty eyes though 😁
Run, Forest, run
"She's tryna get an arrow through you" Omg Eli is meee like fr Scott listen to the kid
"You faint at the sight of blood?!" "No, but I might at the sight of a chopped of arm!"
You think?!
Scott flashbacks, Eli's future partner is in that car "omg we almost hit someone" jk it's Sheriff Stilinski
Peter has a right to be filled with such anger, legit family was burned alove infront of him and was in a coma for 6 years, I would've been forever angry too bc that's not just something you get over
"Allison stOoOoOp" bc that worked so well last time
also backtrack to Chris saying that Allison wouldn't kill a 15 year old, what about Boyd and Erica? Legit grl went psycho in season 2 and I don't want to here and "Well Gerard..." She still did it
"sure lets talk" 🗡🗡🏃‍♀️💨 we have very different definitions of talking
Eli and Derek are the best part of this movie🥺
Hikari said, "I got one of those too mfs"🗡
Flashbacks to when Hayden got taken by the ghost riders 😭

Harringtons Friend
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson X Fem! Reader and a small bit of Steve X Fem! Reader.
Warning: 18+, light smut, jealousy/overprotective, foreplay, swearing, drugs, mention of addiction, bad father figure.
Mini Description(2.4K words); It's been years since you've been in Hawkins but since your parents divorced you're back and Harrington is showing you around. Then you meet the group's new friend Eddie who is also your charming neighbor.
A/N: I used to write fanfics when I was young so it's been years and I'm a little rusty, I hope you guys enjoy! Any feedback is welcomed and p.s this will for sure be 2 or 3 chapters.
Chapter One:
It was the summer of 1986, you hadn’t set foot in this town since you were 12 and you had missed Hawkins so much. Since your parents split up, you and your mom decided to move back home since it would be easier but the real reason was the man she cheated on your dad lived in the trailer park, and moving in with him was your only choice. You could have stayed with your father if it wasn’t for his on-and-off drug addiction since the news. Nonetheless, you were excited to be back where you grew up and finish your senior year of high school.
After a long day of unpacking you hear a knock on your trailer door, you head over and open the door to your old best friend Steve Harrington.
“Y/N, you’re finally back, holy shit!”, he leans in for a hug, which you gladly accept and embrace him with your full force.
“Fuck Harrington I missed you so much. I tried every summer to make my way over here but y’know family crap”, you respond back letting go of one another.
You invite him in and he follows you inside to your room catching up on all the drama that has happened over the years you were gone. You missed your best friend so much, it was nice seeing him again. The two of you were inseparable when you were little, always holding hands running on the playground, playing tag, and having each other back. He was even your first kiss and you were also his, even though he will never admit that to anyone. At one point the two of you even dated but that was cut short due to the move.
“I know you mostly know about everyone but you should meet them all again, they’re so big all those kids we used to hang out with pretty much because of how much I liked Nancy back then. You also haven’t even met Robin, Max, El, or Eddie. We’re having a campout tonight in the woods and you should join!”, Steve rang out.
“Of course, I would love to, I haven’t seen anyone for years. Also ‘liked’ Nancy, you still do, you never shut up about her and your dream of having 6 little nuggets as you put it”, you chuckle out.
You two laugh and arrange where to meet later tonight. Steve leaves and you are left to your own devices of packing up a backpack for this little camping trip. Humming tunes in your head are abruptly cut short when you hear the loud sounds of Metalica, Master of Puppets blaring from your neighbors. You groan, it isn’t that you aren’t fond of the music but it reminds you of your father who tries to act too young at his age. You wait a few moments in the hope the music goes down but it doesn’t.
“Fuck”, you mumble heading out of the trailer.
You walk up to your neighbor's trailer and pound on the door which leads to no answer. You pound louder, practically shaking the trailer itself. The door opens and there stands a young man, maybe a few years older than you with long shaggy curly hair, brown eyes, and a shirt that reads ‘Hell Fire Club. Your eyes wander to his, caught off by how attractive your neighbor is but the thought is cut short when a cloud of smoke fills your face smelling like weed, you groan.
“Look, your music is way too loud, and would you not blow your smoke in my face”, you say with an annoyed tone.
“Well at least you think it's music”, he snickers, “But yeah I’m sorry about that I was getting carried away, I’ll go turn it down.”
“Thanks”, you say as the door shuts.
As you turn to head back to your trailer the music only gets louder. You look into the window of the trailer and there the man is, making devil horns and sticking his tongue out at you. You roll your eyes and give him the finger as you head back into the trailer to get your bag and head over to the campsite early.
On your walk to the campsite, you subconsciously begin to sing the song from earlier playing obnoxiously at your neighbor's trailer. You sigh once you catch yourself, smacking your temple with your hand. You can’t help your mind from trailing back to that young man, even though he was more than a little obnoxious he still was excessively attractive. His long curly hair, beautiful brown eyes, and the way that shirt clung to him with sweat. You feel a knot build in your stomach, you shake your head trying to get rid of the butterflies.
You get to the campground, hearing the sound of laughter and a crackling fire. You approach the fire and tents, Steve running up to you and hugging you.
“You’re late, I thought you got kidnapped,” he laughed letting go of you.
“No, I left early because some asshole was blaring music and I got annoyed but then I got lost and took the wrong turn. But I'm finally here”, you say with a smile.
You look over and you see the same attractive guy from the trailer with a large smirk on his face, “Oh so your Steve’s friend and you’re already calling me an asshole, by the way, the name is Eddie Munson the freak of Hawkins High.”
Eddie and Steve laugh and your face lights up pink, “I’m sorry,” you mumble.
Eddie throws an arm over your shoulder and brings you close to his chest, “it’s fine, you looked like a preppy high school kid who would’ve called me a freak, but now I know your Harringtons little friend I apologize”
You smile as a response taking in the smell of weed and cheap cologne that's wrapped around you. You try to wiggle away but Eddie grips on you stronger looking down at you with a cheeky smile and finally letting his grip on you go loose and letting you go. The butterflies fly back into your stomach. Steve and Eddie lead you back to the group and you exchange greetings with everyone and enjoy the night with your friends.
“So all the kids are in bed whose up for a round of spin the bottle?”, Steve cheers.
“Of course, you are the one who would suggest that”, Robin groans which cause Nancy to laugh.
“I will opt out but watch for fun, just because I’m with Jonathan,” Nancy says.
“What if it's only cheek for you then, since it’s just a game and all of us are friends and I really don’t think Johnathan will care not that I really know him,” you say trying to add to the conversation. Nancy nods in agreement.
“Okay! Rules are settled let's spin this bottle,” Steve exclaims.
Everyone settles down around a circle, you sit there beside Robin who looks very unimpressed about the situation. The bottle is set onto the ground by Steve and he spins, as you watch the bottle spins your eyes wander to Eddie who is staring intently at you, you smile awkwardly and he looks away. Looking down at the bottle it lands on you.
“Wanna give me a kiss,” Harrington says cockily.
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” you chuckle.
You lean over the bottle to give him a kiss, he grabs the back of your neck pulling you into a deep kiss. You feel his hand entangled in your hair yanking on it to get the best entrance into your mouth with his tongue causing you to release a small moan.
“Enough,” a raspy angered voice says causing you to pull away from Harringtons' kiss.
You look over at Eddie, who has a scowl on his face which causes a tingle to go up your spine. The angered expression on his face turns you on in a way never before. The butterflies cause slight wetness in your panties. You let out an awkward chuckle.
“Awe Eddie, just wanting some action for yourself,” you say mockingly.
He grumbles, “Just spin the goddamn bottle again.”
The bottle spins around causing a few small kisses between the friend group. Steve occasionally tries to convince Nancy to let him kiss her on the lips. You know for a fact that kiss between you and Harrington meant nothing, he wanted to get in Nancy’s head. He had always liked her and if them getting together meant kissing an old best friend for some jealous fun then so be it.
“It’s your turn Y/N,” Nancy says.
You smile and spin the bottle, looking around the group waiting for it to stop till your eyes catch Eddie’s once again. He smirks at you and stops the bottle mid-spin so it lands on him. You hear a ‘ooo’ come from Robin who by now is enjoying the game.
“That’s not how the game works Eddie,” you protest.
“It does now,” he says sticking his tongue out.
You scoff as he stands up. You look at him, almost perfectly level with his manhood and of course, it crosses your perverted mind how big he is down there. It crosses his mind to, your mouth around his cock would probably be a dream come true. His gazes locked on you as he moves across the group and sits in front of you. You can feel the tenseness in your gut as his face inched closer to yours. He smirks at you and guides his hand up the back of your neck pulling you into a kiss. He wastes no time moving his tongue into your mouth causing you to gasp into the kiss. His tongue touches yours which makes you wet underneath your shorts. Your hands inching up his chest, melting deeper into this kiss, hearing his breath becoming quicker as the pace of the kiss speeds up. If it wasn’t for the fact your friends sat in a circle around you there would be no clothes. Eddie pulls away a strand of saliva still connecting the two of you.
Eddie laughs, “Beat that Harrington.”
“Oh well, I didn’t know it was a competition. Who can kiss the ‘new’ girl better”, Steve says.
Everyone laughs, “Let's call it a night with that kiss,” says Robin.
Everyone says goodnight and heads to their separate tents. Eddie waits back with you, standing close to you. You lean on him jokingly, putting all your weight on him. He looks at you and smiles kindly then moves, causing you to catch your balance quickly as he snickers.
“Loser,” he jokes, “so do you smoke weed?”
“Oh no, not really but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try,” you say.
“Don’t worry sweetheart, it’s harmless,” he says with a smile.
Eddie pulls out a joint and starts walking away from the campsite and you follow along. Having the back view of him you can’t help but check out his amazing ass. I mean what can you say, those blue jeans cup it just right. He looks back at you and grabs your hand pulling you closer to him. Your hands entangled with one another.
“You know sweetheart, you’re pretty cute. I have no idea why Harrington never talked about you more, you even think Metalica is music” he says.
You giggle, “thank you Eddie, and yes I do my dad listens to it so I’m used to it and I listen to it too on occasion.”
“So is that who you live with at the trailer?” he asks.
“No, my mom cheated on my dad so now we live with her new lame boyfriend. I would have stayed with my dad but that wasn’t a good situation,” you respond shyly.
“Ah that’s okay. My dad left me so I know how you feel. Let's smoke this stuff and forget about deadbeat dads!” he shouts.
You chuckle, letting go of your hand he holds the joint up to his mouth lighting it, taking a long puff from the joint and hands it to you. You take a small puff of the joint, exhaling the smoke, noticing Eddie watch the rise and fall in your breasts. For the fun of it, you take a long puff watching Eddie biting his lips. Your head spins beginning to really feel the joint, loosening up your body. You start laughing out of nowhere, Eddie looks over at you and smiles.
“What is so funny?” he chuckles
“You’re just cute Eddie, I don’t know. I don’t even know you and I feel safe. Is that weird?”
“I mean, no, not for me anyway. I was the freak of Hawkins High so not much is weird to me. You’re pretty cool so,” he smiles.
“Oh and that kiss! That was hot Eds, can I call you Eds?” you laugh.
Eddie rolls his eyes, “Yes it’s fine and I’m glad you thought it was hot. Wanna try something else hot?”
You nod eagerly, he stops walking along the trail and you do the same. He pulls you in front of him, only a few inches away from one another.
“When I blow out the smoke I want you to inhale it, okay sweetheart,” he smirked.
You nodded as he hit the joint. He leaned close to you, your lips almost touching as he blows the smoke within your mouth you inhale it deeply and quickly exhaled the smoke. Fuck you think to yourself, looking up into his brown eyes, with how high you feel you can’t hold back this sexual tension between you two. You lean in and kiss him, he grabs you by the waist as the kiss deepens, feeling his hands slide down and firmly grab your ass. You wrap your arms around his neck running your fingers through his hair as your tongues clash with one another. You pull away for air, looking up into his dreamy eyes.
“Fuck babe,” he chuckles, slapping your ass lightly.
You giggle and shake your head, “we should head back, it’s late.”
“But we were just getting started,” he pouts.
“We will just have to carry on another date then cutie,” you tease.
He pulls his hand away from your ass, sliding it to the front of your shorts lightly touching the clothed outside of your pussy with a smirk across his face. Leaning in and placing a seductive kiss on your neck, nibbling it lightly causing you to gasp. He pulls away placing a kiss on your cheek. Your pussy begins to ache, you pout.
“You are such a tease, you know that Eds,” you whine.
“I know babe, we will just have to continue where we started at another date,” he smirks.
The two of you laugh and head back to the campsite to catch some sleep.

A/N: I can’t tell you how satisfying it was to write this chapter. No hate towards Steve, but he was a dick in season 1 (no I’m not excusing Jonathan, but smashing his camera was such a dick move man).
Wednesday November 9th, 1983
Day three since Will had disappeared.
Day three since Renee had the gnawing feeling of guilt in the pit of her stomach.
Day three of trying desperately to find him and reassure herself that he was okay and that his disappearance wasn’t her fault.
Poking and prodding at her cereal, Renee stared aimlessly at the front door. Her dad hadn’t returned home last night, but she hadn’t expected him to. He was out searching for Will, as were a lot of people it turned out. She wasn’t so self-obsessed to think that she had something to do with the increase in people looking for him, but she hoped that she’d at least helped. Him not being there meant he wasn’t able to question her absence from school, so she certainly wasn’t going to complain.
The brunette pushed the soggy food around in her bowl before finally giving up, dumping it in the sink ready to clean up later. Eddie would lecture her if he knew she hadn’t eaten but she didn’t care. Finding Will was more important than sodden cereal.
Renee pulled a photo out of her wallet. The fall backdrop of orange and yellow leaves drifting down to the ground as her dad carried Sara on his shoulders brought a bittersweet smile to her face. She barely even looked at her eleven year old self holding onto her dad’s jacket. Her focus remained on her little sister’s blonde pigtails blowing in the breeze – blonde pigtails stolen from her by chemotherapy. The brunette used to love giving her little plaits and styling her hair. Then, when she lost her hair, Renee shaved her own hair off in solidarity. Even after five years, she still kept the back and sides of her hair shaved in her honour.
Thoughts of the photo – one of the last before Sara died – continued to swirl around Renee’s head as she drove to Hawkins High. What would her little sister be like now? Would her parents have stayed together and all of them moved back to Hawkins together? If so, would Sara have been friends with the boys? With Will? Would she be tall? Short? What would be her favourite subject in school? She always used to love drawing with Renee so would art be her favourite?
“Shit.” She took a hand off the wheel to wipe away a stray tear. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d cried properly over her sister.
Thankful that she was managing to keep her composure for the most part, Renee pulled into her usual spot in the parking lot and locked up her pickup truck before she made her way towards the entrance. Jonathan was waiting for her, camera around his neck as usual. The moment she reached him, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her away to somewhere quieter and with less students to eavesdrop on them.
“Meet me in the dark room the photography club uses at lunch, okay? We’re gonna see if we can find anything helpful in the photos from last night.”
Renee nodded. “Sure. Do you want me to let Eddie know?”
“No,” he said. “He’s meeting us after school. Said he needed to check on something at the Wheelers’ and that you’d know what he was up to.”
Eleven. The brunette had almost forgotten about the mysterious girl that they and the kids had bumped into the night after Will went missing. She must have been scared out of her wits with no idea of what was going on or how long she’d have to hide.
“Right. I’ll meet you in the dark room at lunch then. With any luck, we’ll find a clue that we missed or maybe didn’t notice last night.”
The two of them in agreement, Renee and Jonathan entered the school building and split up to attend their respective classes for the morning.
 ***
Eddie was used to skipping classes. Ever since middle school, when the bullying and shunning began, he’d take the opportunity to play truant and just do whatever he wanted instead. It made him feel like he was at least in control of something in his life what with his dad in jail and his mom hitting the road as soon as she realised that she didn’t want to look after her son anymore. Wayne was the real father figure in his life, but sometimes the metalhead needed to run away from it all because he couldn’t cope with it all. The occasionally sad stares his uncle shot his way when he thought he wouldn’t notice. The cruel names and insults other kids threw at him. The punches and shoves and kicks when he defied someone that thought he was below them because he lived in a trailer park with his uncle and didn’t have money like all the other stupid rich jocks in that hellhole.
At age fourteen, Eddie Munson had smoked his first blunt and found a new way to temporarily escape from reality. A guy about ten years his senior, Reefer Rick, had found him skipping school down at Skull Rock and instead of taking him back to Hawkins Middle, he offered him a joint. It had tasted foul and hurt his lungs as he coughed up smoke, but after a while he learned how much to inhale at one time and how long to hold it in before slowly letting it out. And the high? The feeling of being even more in control of his life and his own happiness? How could he say no to that?
Now, at age seventeen, he was driving down to the Wheelers’ house to make sure some other kid was doing okay. He knew nothing about Eleven or her life before she was found in that baggy yellow t-shirt in the midst of a storm. Hell, he wasn’t sure if she’d ever actually tell him or anyone else about it. However, he did know what it was like to be scared and hiding from those who actively looked for people to torment on a daily basis. Maybe if he could get her to understand that she didn’t need to be scared and alone she would open up to him a little and he and Renee could find a way to help her.
The door at the back of the house that led into the basement was unlocked, much to Eddie’s relief. He made his way quietly down into the small room and almost yelped when he found Eleven staring at him, walkie talkie in hand.
“Jesus, kid, you scared me. Were you trying to give me a heart attack?”
Silence.
The metalhead cleared his throat before putting his backpack down on the ground and opening it. “Figured you’d need some food other than whatever junk and leftovers Wheeler gives you. It’s not the best, but I figured a microwave meal and a hot drink would be better than left over waffles.”
Eleven just watched as he pulled out a half empty jar of cocoa powder and two microwave roast dinners. He held up the jar when she frowned at him.
“You want some hot cocoa? I could put some whipped cream and marshmallows on top too if you want.”
She noiselessly nodded her head and Eddie grinned.
“Alright. I’ll be back in a minute, okay? Just gonna make our drinks and food.”
“Our food?”
He pointed to the second microwave meal he’d brought with him. “Thought you might want some company while you eat.”
Without any further questions or protest, the metalhead made his way up to the kitchen with the meals tucked under one arm and the hot chocolate jar in his left hand. Admittedly, it felt odd to be looking after a kid as if he was their parent or older brother. As an only child, Eddie had never stopped to consider what it would be like to have a little brother or sister. Was this what it was like to have a little brother or sister? Someone to look after and care for when the adults were away?
Soon enough, both meals and hot chocolates were done. He took the drinks down to the basement first before he returned for the food. Watching Eleven wolf down the food desperately was both a relief and a concern for him. What kind of parents would allow their child to go so hungry that they would eat as if their food was about to be taken away from them? Well, he knew the answer to that question but didn’t dwell on it.
“So, uh…” Eddie watched the young girl take a tentative sip of her cocoa. “How are you holding up living down here? Is Mike treating you okay?”
She nodded her head and went back to eating.
“Good. Good. And are you okay sleeping under the table? It looks kinda cramped down there.”
No response.
He chewed his lip for a moment before speaking up again. “Has he told you about our missing friend, Will? We were looking for him the night we found you.”
The girl stopped eating for a moment. “Hiding.”
Eddie frowned. “Will’s hiding? Where?”
He watched as Eleven moved away from the table and picked up a game board, holding it upright for a moment before flipping it over to the black underside. “Hiding. Upside down.”
The metalhead abandoned what was left of his meal to hold the board in his hands, repeating her movements. “He’s hiding in the dark somewhere?”
She shook her head and took the board off him. Picking up Will’s DnD miniature, she flipped the board from the right side up to the darkened underside of again and put Will’s miniature there.
“Upside down.”
 ***
Renee finished chewing the last mouthful of her lunch before leaving the cafeteria, dumping her tray with the other used ones. Even after drinking a carton of apple juice her mouth felt dry. Whatever Jonathan had taken photos of the previous night could be a massive help to finding Will faster and bringing him home. The thought of being able to get him home safe and sound had her thoughts racing. What were they even going to find that would point them in the right direction?
Just as she reached the door to the dark room, the brunette smiled at a familiar face.
“Well, fancy meeting you here, Ren,” Casey said with a smile.
“I could say the same to you!” Renee nodded her head towards the door. “I didn’t think you were still in photography club after you started hanging out with Harrington and co more.”
“There are just some photos I want to get developed, that’s all. What brings you here, anyway?”
She tucked a hair behind her ear. “Helping out Jonathan. We took some photos while we were out looking for Will last night to see if we could spot anything helpful, but our flashlights died on us. We’re hoping the camera at least caught something useful.”
The two girls chatted as they quickly entered the dark room, shutting the door swiftly behind them so that the light couldn’t get in. The deep red that dimly lit the room made Renee feel a little uncomfortable and claustrophobic, but she was willing to try and put that out of her mind to help her friend.
The elder of the Byers’ brothers was busy carefully hanging up images to dry off after they’d been soaked in the liquid emulsion. He barely glanced at Renee as he hung up each picture.
“Find anything useful yet?” the brunette asked as she inspected the first image that was hanging up. She deflated a little when she saw it was just some leaves on the ground, probably a practice shot.
“Not yet.” He hung up another photo that Casey looked at intently. “I’m starting to think we wasted our time looking behind Harrington’s place. We should’ve tried somewhere else.”
Renee didn’t register the way that her friend gave Jonathan a dirty look before she left the room. “That just means we can eliminate that location and look for clues elsewhere. We will find him, Jonathan. I promise.”
The lessons after that lunch seemed to crawl by at an agonisingly slow rate. The brunette kept bouncing her leg in irritation as she glared up at the clock. She swore they made the clocks go slower than usual to trick everyone into staying longer.
Gym at the end of the day was the slowest of them all. Not only did she have to play dodgeball for the best part of an hour, but she also had to be on the same team as Steve fucking Harrington: dickhead extraordinaire. To make matters worse, Jonathan wasn’t even in this lesson either because he had English. Throughout the entire duration of the lesson, she had to put up with Steve barking orders at her as if he was in charge of the whole group, listen to him complain if she dropped the ball or threw it and missed, and endure his friends’ snide remarks about her poor hand eye coordination. It wasn’t that she was bad at gym, she was just better at other things that she felt were more important than throwing balls around a gymnasium.
By the time school had finished and Renee was back in her clothes from before gym class, she dragged herself towards the parking lot. Her relief to see Eddie was almost immediately overridden by nausea when she saw Steve, Tommy, Carol, and Casey all sitting on the trunk of Jonathan’s car. She gestured for the metalhead to follow her before making her way over to join their friend.
“Hey, Jonathan, we’re about to go out and look for Will again. Why don’t you come with us?” She squirmed uncomfortably under Carol’s look of disdain.
Steve turned his attention to Renee. “Casey here was, uh, telling us about your work.”
Shit.
“We’ve heard great things,” Carol chipped in.
“Yeah,” added Tommy. “Sounds cool.”
Eddie’s arm made its way around the brunette’s waist, giving her a gentle but urgent squeeze.
Steve’s head nodded. “Yeah, and we’d just love to take a look, you know, as… connoisseurs of art.”
Renee snorted. “Wow, that’s a big fancy word for someone like you, Harrington. Has Nancy been smacking you around the head with a dictionary so hard that you somehow managed to develop a brain?”
“Guys, let’s just go. Please,” Eddie pleaded quietly.
“What’s the matter, freak? You got a problem with us talking to Jonathan? Getting jealous?” Tommy’s snicker earned a tsk and an eyeroll.
“Oh please. If any of the guys here are my type, it would be you, big boy.”
With everyone else distracted, Jonathan tried to push through the group to get to his car but got whipped around by Tommy swiping his camera bag from his shoulder. Renee felt like her heart was in her throat as she watched the interaction, not sure whether to try and wrestle it off him or not. He tossed the bag over to Steve when Jonathan tried to take it back, the latter beginning to shake.
“Man, he is totally trembling.” Steve’s voice grated on the brunette’s nerves. “He must really have something to hide.”
Renee moved away from Eddie and closer to Jonathan as the bully took the photos out of the bag. As they looked through each picture, she could feel the tension begin to bubble over and gently pushed her friend back a little bit, trying to silently communicate with him that he should leave before they tried to do anything to him.
“Come on, you’re being real fucking jerks. They’re not even his photos, they’re mine from when I went looking for Will last night. He was just developing them for me because I ran out of shit at home, so just give them back and fuck off already.” The lies always came easier when they were for her friends.
Steve gave her a sceptical look. “So, you’re just gonna lie to protect your stalker boyfriend? Real classy of you, Hopper. Didn’t think the chief’s daughter was such a criminal.”
“What’s going on?”
Nancy’s sudden appearance had Renee cringing. She was wondering when she was going to show up to protect her asshole of a boyfriend.
“It’s nothing that concerns you, Wheeler. Just Harrington being a royal jackass, as always.” Eddie’s reply went ignored as Carol chimed in.
“These creeps were spying on us last night.” She passed one of the photos to Nancy. “They were probably gonna save this one for later.”
She didn’t know what was in the photo, but from the looks on everyone’s faces Renee knew it couldn’t be good.
“See,” Steve started with a click of his tongue, “you can tell they know it was wrong, but… man, that’s the thing about perverts. It’s hardwired into them, you know, they just can’t help themselves.”
The brunette shoved Steve away from Jonathan when he tried to touch his clothes. In response, he just looked her dead in the eyes as he tore up the photos in his hands and threw the scraps at their faces.
“So, we’ll just have to take away their toy.”
“Just you fucking try it, Harrington. See what happens to pieces of shit like you.” She was standing inches away from him now, glaring up at him. He merely smiled at her as Casey handed him the camera and he held the camera out to Jonathan.
“Here you go man.”
After a moment of hesitation, the Byers boy moved forward to take the camera and watched in horror when Steve dropped it to the ground, smashing it. There was a brief moment of laughter until it turned into a loud crack and shouts of outrage as Harrington backed away with blood streaming from his nose.
Renee shook her now aching hand and Eddie immediately rushed over and began to make a fuss.
“Oh my god, you broke his nose you psycho!” Casey yelled, not that Renee particularly cared.
“He tried it, so I showed him what happens to pieces of shit that think it’s okay to destroy other people’s property. Maybe next time he’ll think twice before showing off in the hopes of getting some pussy.”
“Renee!” She would have laughed at both of her friends admonishing her in unison if her knuckles didn’t hurt like a bitch.
“Let’s just go, the game’s about to start.” Renee did laugh at Steve’s nasal voice due to him clutching at his nose in a desperate attempt to stop it pissing blood everywhere.
Steve and his friends finally left to return to the school building, Casey throwing the brunette a look that pretty much confirmed the end of their friendship. Nancy, however, stayed behind for a moment to pick up the remnants of the photos that were on the ground and Jonathan moved to help her.
“Jesus Christ, Ren. What’s your dad gonna say when he finds out you broke Harrington’s nose?” Eddie asked in a bemused tone as he tenderly traced his fingers over Renee’s bloodied knuckles.
“He’s not gonna find out because you’re not telling him. Besides, I’m sure he has bigger things to worry about right now than me getting into fights with bullies.”

I've finally figured out whether or not I'd been doing the right thing or not. I haven't been, but I have the opportunity to start redeeming myself. Such opportunities in life are rare, and I'll try to make the most of it.
That's the short version. The long version is... complicated, as tends to happen with relationships between romantic partners or between relatives. The people involved other than myself are my mom, my dad, and my girlfriend. For further context, my girlfriend is MTF transgender, and she suffers from many of the mental health problems that can occur for trans individuals.
I live in Florida with my girlfriend currently, while Mom lives in Virginia (where I was born and have spent the majority of the 30 years I've been alive), and Dad, whose field of work is very specialized and thus he goes where the work is, is in Oklahoma.
My girlfriend lived in Florida before we ever had a romantic relationship and we were friends on Discord for years before we got together. She divorced from her wife to be with me after they'd fallen out of love, and I did my best to step up and support her long-distance while she was alone. Her bills would fall behind when she only had one income after the divorce, so I'd CashApp her. I helped her find a used car before the divorce was finalized because the one she was always driving belonged to her ex. Even made it to Florida for a four-day visit at one point. Eventually, I got the money put aside and took some time off, and I moved her in with my mom and me at the rental house we were in. Rent and utilities were supposed to be split, two-thirds for us and one-third for Mom.
We did okay living together, but Virginia took its toll on my girlfriend's mental health. She used to live with her dad some years ago until bone marrow cancer resulted in his death when she was 25. However, he was also the parent who made her feel like she couldn't come out as trans safely. She has mixed feelings about him sometimes, but ultimately, she knows he raised her and acknowledges his importance for her being who she is. All this to say that because the part of Virginia we moved into was where she lost her dad, she was more prone to being not okay when she was in that area due to the memories tied to many of its landmarks. Eventually, she outed herself to a manager at her job (on the premise that maybe that manager would keep it between them and not share that information with the rest of the management team) to explain her depression episodes, but that manager told the whole management team anyway. She felt she could no longer be safe at that job, so she quit.
After that, it was very hard for her to have a steady income. I make alright money, but paying all of her bills on my own wasn't going to be possible. She did Uber the rest of the time we were in Virginia, but rarely did she do enough Uber. Like, we would need for me to do Uber too since my job was three 13-hour shifts and I had four off days, my goal would be to make $300 on my Uber days while she shot for $600, but most weeks we came away with $450-600 put together. As we kept falling short, I would prioritize our car bills, our car insurance, her medical insurance, her medications, our storage unit bill, and her phone bill over our rent and our utilities (including my phone bill) since those two bills were jointly shared with my mom who makes a lot more money than me but who is also paying off a lot more debt than me. I kept telling Mom I'd pay her back. I knew what I was doing was unfair to her, but ultimately, we fell probably about $4100 short of rent and utilities over the course of six or seven months. While this was going on, we declared our intention to move to Florida so we could move in with my girlfriend's mom, so my mom was house hunting. Her intention was to use her retirement money to buy a property outright because her credit would no longer support a mortgage, but as my girlfriend and I fell further behind, that was eating into my mom's already limited house budget. She told me it had real effects for her trying to make offers.
I borrowed from my dad to fund the move to Florida. So now we sit $4000 in debt to my dad and about $4100 in debt to my mom, with the added wrinkle that Mom feels like I used her and trampled over her to get my girlfriend and me to Florida, but I try to defend that with the argument that there was a very real possibility my girlfriend would harm herself the longer we stayed in Virginia. Mom also has a lot of belongings to downsize, and I left all of that to her when I left, even though she's not so physically able anymore. She asked me to promise I'd come back to VA as soon as I could after moving to help her with the stuff at the rental so that she could move. She's bought a condo, so now she's paying to be at two properties at once, and she's stretched very thin.
I'm about to change jobs in Florida with a 50% pay jump. I'm interviewing today for this new job. If I had not found this new job and was thus going to stay at my current one, I was planning to use PTO to take a day off so that I could come back to VA for a few days and help Mom. Depending on whether or not I get hired, I might instead work the visit to Virginia into the gap between resigning from one job and starting the other. I view this visit to Virginia as an opportunity to redeem myself for taking advantage of Mom before we moved out. However, due to our dog, my girlfriend cannot go with me. It's the first time we might be apart since we moved in together. She's not taking it very well because I am her main support system.
She and I had a big conversation about this last night before bed to figure out all the emotions involved from both ends. I've been distant for a while since we got here, and I've been less attentive to my girlfriend than I should have ever let myself be. I believe that guilt for my actions in Virginia weighs on me, so if I can relieve that weight by helping that situation, I'll be able to be a better partner again. She is upset that I'm leaving her because I did at one point promise I'd never leave her behind again (after my four-day visit before she moved in with me), she's angry at my mom for not dealing with her stuff sooner, and she's scared of how she'll feel watching me drive off without her.
With all that said, I swore to her I'd come back more focused. I want to make the most of the help I can give my mom when I go back home so that this pain isn't holding me back or distracting me anymore. I love my girlfriend, but I love my mom too. I want to make things right for everyone involved.

Tokyo Story
Tumblr media
After watching I Was Born But… and reading the synopsis of Tokyo Story, I was yet again not sure what to expect from a drama this time compared to a lighthearted comedy. The movie overall felt very slow to me, but I was still able to watch the whole movie without being disinterested with the characters and overall screenplay that Ozu did with this work in particular. I can see why people would regard this one highly, as compared to I Was Born But…, as it tackled more serious topics of the time, as well as in a more direct fashion. The rapid industrialization that Japan was going through at the time (maybe indirectly?), the postwar struggle, familial expectations, and a lot more that I didn’t expect to see in an older movie. It starts off with a shot of modern Japan growing, with trains going into the countryside, and cuts to an old couple that are thinking of their children, and as we see throughout the movie, care about their children very much.
The movie continues with the characters going through their daily life, and then it is revealed to the audience that they are planning a trip to see the rest of their children in Tokyo, which I assume is quite far from where they live (leaving their youngest daughter, who is revealed to be a teacher towards the end of the movie, sidenote: I initially thought she was in college, my bad). The parents eventually end up meeting their oldest son, who is a doctor, and end up staying at his house for a little bit, along with his wife and two sons. Sadly, as it is with grandparents sometimes, their grandchildren are not quite acquainted with them which leads to them not having enough bonding time either. The son plans a trip with them to go shopping with the whole family (which I thought was a bit crass, as it seemed like he wanted to do a 2-in-1 trip, taking his parents out while satisfying his sons needs as they probably don’t get enough attention from him as he is too busy which causes the oldest to act out), but that is canceled by him being called back to work. The parents then visit their middle daughter (I assume), who is a barber along with her husband, but it is quickly shown that the middle daughter isn’t very nice to them either, despite how they try to act to their kids as they have grown older. It is only with the wife (Noriko) of their second oldest son (Shoji) that they have a sense of belonging, even though their son was killed in the war. The story continues with the parents trying to find a place in the modern world of Tokyo (even feeling the need to split up so as to not burden their son and daughter) with the wife going to Noriko’s place, and the husband going to his old friend’s place to try and stay with him. Sadly, the old friend rents his place out to a wannabe lawyer who spends his days gambling, and thus the old couple’s stay in Tokyo is cut short by their want to not be burdens to their children anymore. They go back, and on the way finally meet their middle son (Keizo in Osaka), and then return home where the mother falls ill and eventually dies.
While it is a lot, one of the main points that I took from watching the movie was the change in Japan after the war and how that affected the characters as well. The children literally split away from their parents by moving to the city, leaving them in the countryside. Another interpretation that I had was the watch that was given to Noriko at the end of the movie. I felt that it represented the valuable time that the parents spent with her and how they appreciated what she did for them. It also connects to their youngest daughter (as it cuts to a shot of her looking at a watch as well) being the one that cared about her parents as well. She understood what her older siblings were doing, and it hurt her.

Alec. That was Demetria’s fiancé’s name, which she had thankfully introduced him by when they’d gotten back to their flat. Holly wasn’t planning to spend her whole time in Galar in the flat, obviously - but an hour or so with her best friend who she hadn’t seen in years was certainly acceptable.
And the fiancé was nice too. Obviously he was, Demetria wouldn’t have gotten engaged to an asshole - but he was likeable. Kind. And very sad.
Holly could see it behind his eyes. See it in the way he moved, the faces he pulled when he thought no one was looking. Come to think of, Demetria wasn’t seeming so great either - not quite at the same level as her fiancé, but certainly subdued. Maybe just for seeing her lover suffer, but-
How many phone calls had she made to Demetria and had no idea what kid of grief she was carrying? Just what had happened?
It wasn’t exactly a question she could just come out and ask, out of nowhere. But she was determined to get an answer, one way or another.
Demetria and Alec were pottering around in the kitchen, insistent that Holly, as a guest, do nothing but sit down and relax. Holly was doing neither. Instead she was inspecting the small flat, looking for some kind of- evidence? Some reason for the air of grief that hung over them.
No overdue bills scattered across the coffee table. No letters scrawled in shaky hands by ailing parents. Nothing, nothing at-
A small table in the corner. Empty save for a candle, and a framed picture.
Bingo.
She crept towards the table, glancing every now and then at the door to the kitchen. Really, she knew she wasn’t actually doing anything wrong, but this seemed so clearly personal. To be caught snooping would just feel awkward.
When she got close enough she crouched, leaning over the table to get a closer look at the photo. It was of a teen, probably seventeen or so - short silver hair, a nervous but excited disposition, and cradling a very young looking Golett in their arms. Holly frowned. Something tugged in her gut - a feeling of deja vu, or something similar. Like she’d seen that kid before. Had they been on tv? A Galarian gym challenger?
“Holly?”
She started, turning to see that Demetria had entered the room without her hearing. Holly flushed in embarrassment.
“S-sorry, I just-”
“It is alright.” Demetria smiled, slightly sadly, coming to stand beside Holly.
“Uh- who is that?”
“Trace. They were Alec’s younger sibling. I did not know them well, but they and Alec were close.”
“What happened to them?”
Demetria looked down, away from Holly, shoulders dropping.
“They were… doing the gym challenge in Paldea. They had an accident.”
“Wild pokemon?”
“The crater.”
Holly’s chest tightened.
“We do not know exactly what happened to them. Only that they fell inside, just over two months ago. We can… only hope it was the fall that- well.” Demetria shook her head slightly, then sighed, straightening and turning to face Holly with a renewed, if subdued, smile on her face.
“At the very least, they are at peace now. Just- please do not bring it up with Alec.”
“Of course.”
“So- ah, where did you say were going tomorrow?”
Well, Holly couldn’t very well say she was going to dump an eldritch monster in the crater of Paldea now, could she?
“Um- Hoenn. Going to see- Birth Island. Yeah.”
“Really? I am sure Sinnoh is closer to Hoenn than Galar…”
“Yeah, I, really wanted to see you.”
Demetria’s face split into a wide grin, and hot shame flooded Holly’s body.
She allowed herself to be guided to the sofa, sitting and smiling through Demetria’s excited ramblings on the best places to visit in the region. One hand clenched at her side, the other clutching her bag.
Her bag with the monster inside.

As long as I was at the house he never I was drinking or smoking weed or hanging with girls then it was ok with Mel. I went from strait Fs in Utah and most people giving me a maximum of five years left to live to being an honor roll student and I wouldn’t say popular but I actually had friends and no one hating on me. I settled in for high school and graduated early with a full ride scholarship to a good tech university with a full time job in my spare time being paid top dollar. After not being home to Utah for 3 years I had forgotten how horrible it really was and after gaving an argument with my uncle because he broke my weed pipes after I had smoked with my other aunt KB. LB instantly got paranoid and thought I was going to sell her out or something so she beat me to the punch I guess and she went to my house found my pipes and made up all sorts of lies about me and was trying to get me in trouble for smoking weed of course she refused to admit she had smoked with me the day before. So I’ll show everyone I’ll just turn down the biggest opportunities of my life and go back home to Utah where I’m really from. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Got arrested before my 19th birthday and was back on paper less than a year after finally expirating my juvenile probation. This is when I met my ex wife. Christine weaver I was attracted because she was the only girl I knew that had her shit together had her own job her own car her own money. I met her selling weed she was my best girlfriends friend from cali. Her boyfriend apparently was a girl beater and I stepped in when he was in Utah and tried to pull some shit where I was at. Maybe he could get away with that shit in cali but he wasn’t in Cali so I helped him with a little attitude adjustment and after he went home I took over as Christine’s man. The next 10 years was my married years. Christine and I moved in together after knowing each other a month. I pretty much moved into her parents basement for a short period it was like a year. I was working as a CNA/MedTech at an assisted living center down the street. I loved my job but hated the dehumanization of people and the coldness that was being shoveled to CNAs. Don’t get close with your residents because thier on their way out of this world so save yourself the pain of getting to know and love these people. I honestly still am disgusted with the way people treat each other but definitely couldn’t understand how they were actually teaching people to detach and dehumanize the elderly. Just went against everything I had ever been taught by my RN mother or Walter my streetdad who both taught me that the elderly deserve respect and to be listened to because of their wisdom. I wish I would have listened more. After finding out that a 50 year old resident I loved died and wasn’t even found for two days after having a seizure and cracking her head on a corner in the bathroom. She was an hourly check which means whomever was working had to check on her every hour because she had seizures. Two fucking days. Crazy after that I found out the other med tech was keeping everyone’s pain pills and swapping them for Tylenol. When I confronted the building manager about it he pretty much called the other med tech in and then told me to keep my mouth shut and that it wasn’t going to happen again while at the same time leaving this girl on the med cart. After the building manager I went to the head nurse and then found out that when she was supposed to be destroying outdated pills with another witness her and this other medtech would just split the pills and sign them out like they had been destroyed which I didn’t care about but once again I was told to keep my mouth shut. That was it for me My friends brother offered me a job as an electrician apprentice so I went to work in construction after making tit threw the first week I learned fast and had my own crew wireing houses after a little over a year. I was making good money so Christine and I purchased our first house. 628 n Monroe blvd in Ogden. Paid 76,000$ for it then sold 1 year later for 106,000

The Secret Window by Betty Ren Wright
Tumblr media
I've owned this book for years now, but I don't remember getting it. There's no price tag on the book, and it's got a bend on its front cover, plus it's somewhat worn down. I assume I got it as a hand-me-down from my sister, or otherwise from the same box of books as Beloved Benjamin is Waiting. I decided to read it because I wanted a short book I could read before the month was over.
The premise is that preteen Meg Korshak has dreams of the future, both good and bad, and she can't control what happens or when. She feels that she can't tell anybody about them for fear that nobody would believe her, so she suffers in silence. Unfortunately, everything boils over when her parents split and her dad moves away to pursue a career in writing and she them has a future-telling nightmare that she can't prevent, so she has to constantly be on the lookout for when it happens.
I have to preface by saying I know this was a book for kids, and that's why I know that maybe I'm being too harsh on it, especially knowing it was written in the 80s. That said... well, it wasn't my favorite book.
I didn't like a lot of things, like how Meg didn't tell on her friend, Gracie, to the teacher at the museum, or how she and Gracie didn't reconcile in the end, or how Meg's grandmother didn't stay longer and talk to Meg more about the prophetic dreams, but I guess the length of the book (149 pages) was a detriment to it and didn't give much room for padding like that.
I thought it was interesting, how Meg's father left to pursue his passion for writing; I don't see that being the reason s couple split very often even now. I also enjoyed Meg's new neighbor, Rhoda, though I thought it would've been nice if she were older, closer to her brother Bill's age. She was so wise and unbothered that it seemed strange for her to be the same age as Meg.
I thought it was cool how the prophetic dreams were inherited from mother to daughter through Meg's father's side and I wish we had explored that more often, just like I wish her grandmother could've stayed longer and talked with her more about it.
It was nice that Meg told Billy and Rhoda her secret in the end, but I think it should've happened sooner, at least with regards to telling her brother, especially with how close they are. I can understand she was nervous because of when her father warned her against it - which, side note, why did he dislike the idea of it? Did he have bad memories of it in regards to his mom and grandmother, maybe? Why did he dislike it so much? - but hadn't her brother proven himself to her? I guess the trauma (if it can be called that) would explain it all, but still...
In the end, it was disappointing how there were a lot of "almost there" ideas that didn't quite come to fruition. Meg realizing Gracie put so much stock in Linda and the party on the hopes she would rise out of her life and into a better one, but still not trying to reach more than a surface level understanding, the existence of Rhoda in opposition of Gracie, Bill thinking of giving up his college scholarship to care for his mother and sister, Meg's father leaving and how badly it seemed he believed he had to go, etc etc. It always seemed half baked, or like a cliffhanger. I don't have a lot of stock in the book and it's not a big deal that it's not better, but it's always a shame when books don't reach their full potential.
Overall, it wasn't a great book, but it wasn't a bad book; it was what was expected of it, I guess. I'm not worried about reading the book again, nor keeping it, but I'm not disappointed with it either. 3/5.
My bookmark for this book was a hot pink, heart shaped bookmark reminding me the days of the local farmer's market written on it.

Slow burn Yandere Husband Jungkook
Tumblr media
Word Count; 5.4k
Unlike the vast majority of married couples, neither you nor Jungkook donned wedding rings.
Never in your five years of marriage did you regret this decision, given it was brought upon by you and your husband’s lack of funds for fancy wedding bands at the time of your rushed marriage.
Well, you were never annoyed....until tonight, that is.
The scene before you was exceptionally intimate, so much so that you felt the instinctual need to look away in respect of the two before you.
The woman was gorgeous, effortlessly attracting all the attention the small conference room had to offer. In addition to this natural charisma spurred on by her borderline enchanting looks, her short and skin-tight red dress showed off her pleasantly curvy body. Her long, silky, and jet-black hair was pulled back into an elegant ponytail that provided a simple background for her darling features. Utterly doll-like was her face; petite, creamy in complexion with bright doe eyes and berry-pink lips.
Such a beautiful woman was currently in the arms of an equally, if not more so, attractive man.
He was tall and slender, yet not at all lanky given his sturdy build that was a testament to his strict workout regime. His olive skin was complimented with occasional tattoos, a mix of faded and fresh ink that you knew like the back of your hand despite only the tats on his hand currently showing in his crisp Valentino suit. His mid-length inky black hair was down to frame his sharp face, and indeed it was a very handsome one consisting of full eyebrows, bow-like lips, a fleshy yet impish nose, and two large, yet seemingly bottomless, raven orbs.
This man had his arms encircling the middle of the mysterious woman, her expression lifting into a light-hearted giggle as she leaned forward to whisper something in his ear.
Whatever she said must’ve been amusing to the man, given his usual stoic facade briefly melted away as he allowed a small smile at her words, his pearly round teeth peeking out for a split-second appearance.
If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought that these two were lovers.
But there was only one problem with this scene.
That was your husband, Jungkook.
And that woman in his arms was not you.
As if sensing your distress and wanting to soothe your well-founded suspicion, Jungkook pulled away from the woman and ran his gaze across the room- only stopping when he spotted you. Your spouse then gestured at you, the girl following his line of sight and landing on you and your pitiful spot by the snack table. Her joyful expression briefly dropped for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it second, but she quickly plastered on another grin and nodded. The two then strode their way over to you, barely giving you enough time to steel your nerves and muster a polite purse of the lips.
Before you knew it, the woman was right in front of you with your partner at her side instead of yours. Much to your dismay, she was only more attractive up close, and you narrowly held back a grimace as she held out a hand in introduction. You took it and shook it lifelessly.
“Hello, you must be Mrs. Jeon. I’m Sana, Jungkook’s colleague.” Even her voice was pretty, musical and light to the ears.
“H-Hi, nice to meet you but please call me Y/n.” A brief and awkward pause as Sana briefly sized you up and down. “Um, Jungkook has never mentioned you….” you trailed off, side-eyeing your husband in hopes he would intervene and add context to this random goddess he’s thrust upon you.
Jungkook gracefully took his cue and explained, “Sana transferred from another branch out of the city and has only been with us for five months. I’m her case supervisor and have been taking care of her, showing her the ropes and whatnot.”
Sana didn’t even spare you a glance as she fondly looked up at your husband, coyly biting her lip and saying in a much softer tone that could've been just for his ears only, “And he’s been really good at taking care of me.”
You didn’t consider yourself a jealous stay-at-home wife who obsessed over the tiniest details between her husband and other women, but the double meaning behind her badly-whispered comment was enough to make you splutter in disbelief. However before you could even gather up the courage to ask just what the hell ‘taking care of me’ consisted of, two new faces waltzed up and joined the conversation.
“Are you all enjoying this fabulous Christmas party?” A tall, broad-shouldered but nice-looking man asked in a tone of familiar amicability.
You thankfully smiled up at him, having met him many times before.
His name was Jin, and he was the one who got Jungkook this job.
It occurred about five years ago when you first told Jungkook that you were pregnant. Being the romantic but overall good guy that Jungkook was, he insisted that you two get married so that your child could have parents who were at least husband and wife. In addition it would also lessen the judgment in your two families, which at the time was extremely appealing to you. You had agreed to marry on one condition: after running to the courthouse you two would need to move in together in a decent apartment with a room for the nursery. But getting an apartment would mean month-to-month rent, and Jungkook’s tattooing gigs weren’t stable enough to ensure that.
Jin was originally a friend of Jungkook’s older brother, but when he heard through the grapevine about the issue, he bought Jungkook a couple of suits and offered him a job at the corporation he worked at.
Now Jungkook made more than enough money to support your little family, and it was all because Jin took a chance on a college drop-out and his knocked-up girlfriend.
You opened your mouth to respond but were cut off by the unknown lady beside Jin.
“I’d say a little too much fun if anything. Sana and Jungkook, we get that you're the infamous office couple but maybe tone it down a bit, huh?” She joked while raising her brows at the close proximity between the two.
A long and tortuous silence swept the scene.
Jin glanced at you, pity swimming in his usually carefree eyes.
Not trusting your voice to say anything and desperately wanting to hide your face from the piercing eyes, you distracted yourself by taking calculated sips of watered-down eggnog.
“Daehyun...this is actually Y/n, Jungkook’s wife,” Jin told the lady in an uncomfortable voice.
You didn’t know what stung more, the fact that this stranger thought that there was more chemistry between Sana and your husband than with you, or that it was Jin who corrected this mistake and not Jungkook himself.
“O-Oh, well it’s nice to meet you.” Daehyun awkwardly said to you while avoiding direct eye contact.
You offered a tight smile, “Pleasure.”
Whatever gratitude you could’ve had for Daehyun’s clear embarrassment quickly vanished when the woman went on to continue, “I’m sorry. Jungkook never mentioned being married and he doesn’t wear a ring so I didn’t even know. I bet it must be interesting for his housewife to meet his office wife though, right?”
She laughed, not realizing that she only succeeded in putting a foot in her mouth right before stomping it all over your pesky little heart. The group didn’t seem to share your uneasiness, all three of them politely chuckling along to the lukewarm joke at your expense. Once again, you focused on your dwindling beverage to avoid the burden of speaking or even facing them directly, too scared that your miserable expression would be unanimously inspected.
“Well, we just came over to recruit you all for some karaoke!” Jin cheerfully announced, clearly trying to change the subject, “There’s a machine in the break-out room and it’s more fun to sing with a group.”
“More like you want an audience.” Jungkook wittingly teased, a handsome smirk on his face as Sana playfully scolded him with a push to the chest.
“I’ll take your jabs now Kookie because I know they stem from your insecurity that I can actually upstage you in the vocals department.” Jin rebutted in good nature, even letting your husband’s old nickname slip.
Daehyun and Sana both guffawed at this declaration, exaggerated disbelief present on their faces.
“Jungkook is the best singer in the office. He’ll upstage you without even trying.” Daehyun said in a tenor of utter confidence.
“Only one way to find out!” Jin brushed the comment off, pointing to the direction of the assumed breakout room, “Karaoke anyone?”
The so-called office wife nodded enthusiastically, taking your husband’s arm and looking up at him to plead, “Can we do a duet of that one song we like?”
Jungkook, for the first time in seemingly hours, shot you with a questioning gaze.
Be married to someone for a while and you’ll learn how to decipher what they’re trying to say with just mere looks. Your husband was wordlessly inquiring if you were going to join, if he should go along with the group or if you two should break away and do something else.
The ball was finally in your court.
Not wanting to be rude but needing to get away from these people before you lost your cool, you decided on a subtle excuse.
“I need a refill, but maybe we can meet you all later?” You said, shaking your empty paper cup as if to prove your case.
“Oh, well the drinks are right behind you.” Sana condescendingly pointed out, tightening her hold on your husband and began steering him towards the exit, “We’ll save a seat for you.”
Bewildered, you watched as Jungkook obediently followed her lead with the Daehyun girl trailing behind.
He didn’t even spare you a glance.
You wanted to be angry.
You wanted to storm up to your husband, yank him out of the clutches of his colleagues and practically drag him back home under the premise that he would never speak to Sana ever again.
But instead of a righteous rage fueled by the marital vows you two took, utter exhaustion bestowed upon you and prevented any instigation on your part.
Maybe earlier in your marriage you would’ve fought for his attention, but now you simply just wanted to go home and lick your wounds with the help of a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream while self-obsessing over Sana’s outrageous attractiveness. After all, who could blame any hot-blooded man for choosing that goddess over you? What could you possibly do but lean back and accept that she was the obvious choice?
Other than her being a knockout beauty while you were merely average on your best day, she had other qualities that made her a more appealing catch. She was most likely younger than you, obviously fit, more ambitious and professionally driven than you, and presumably has no kids.
Meanwhile, you were just an old stay-at-home mom who lived off of her husband’s paychecks while he fucked his coworkers behind her oblivious back.
Before you could draw more detailed comparisons between Sana and yourself, you felt a large hand place itself on the middle of your back, successfully guiding your attention to the only person who bothered staying by your side.
Jin smiled sadly at you, sympathy shadowing his expression as he gestured with his other hand to the empty cup still in your hold. “Let’s get you some more eggnog.”
You nodded wordlessly, still speechless from the interaction, and allowed the taller man to guide you towards the snack table. Jin then took your cup and refilled it himself, providing you the opportunity to pick at the catered food in some cheap attempt at stress eating. By the time Jin came back with a full cup, you were halfway done with a sugar cookie and eyeing the meatballs next.
“Here ya go,” Jin said as he handed over the drink to you. You took it and nodded in thanks but kept your eyes glued to the food, not wanting him to see just how defeated and tired your face probably was. But, Jin wasn’t going to let the whole thing go. “Y/n….I know what you saw and heard looks really bad but trust me….nothing is going on between Sana and Jungkook.”
You snorted. “It doesn’t just look bad, Jin. It was like they were practically rubbing it in my face. Him having an affair isn’t the problem, it’s the way they’re not even bothering to keep it down. The least they could do is be discreet.”
Jin’s jaw slightly dropped, “‘Him having an affair isn’t the problem’? Y/n, do you even hear yourself? Of course that would be a problem! Do you not care about your own marriage anymore?”
And there it was.
The big question.
Did you truly even care about this marriage?
Well, let’s look at the facts.
One: The disrespect of his alleged mistress was more offensive to you than the fact that she was a mistress.
Two: Jungkook dragging you along to this office Christmas party was the first time in over a year that he bothered to take you out.
Three: You two had humble beginnings and could barely afford food, much less wedding bands when you first got married, but now he was a very wealthy man and had no excuse for not buying you or himself a ring. Unless, of course, he enjoyed acting single around other women.
Four: And on top of all this, it had to be factored in how distant he has been with overwhelming work hours that prevented any alone time with your husband. Sex with Jungkook has been off the table for almost a year now.
But did any of this really bother you until tonight? The answer was a resounding no. You were willing to take all those burdens in stride but tonight it wasn’t just about the fact that you were the unwanted wife Jungkook got sacked with, it was the fact that you were humiliated and forced to face the type of girl Jungkook should’ve been married to all along. That was all you were truly upset about.
The conclusion that you indeed didn’t care about your marriage and haven’t in some time now hit you in a sudden wave, but in no way were you shocked.
Voice shaky and brittle, you allowed yourself to be vulnerable with Jin and say the one thing you always secretly thought but never dared utter out loud. “I-I guess I always expected it to end like this. When we were younger, he was always the popular one and all the girls wanted him. We were only dating for three months when I got pregnant, and if it weren’t for our son he probably would’ve dumped me eventually and left for another girl. But, he stuck around for his kid because he’s a good father. And I’ve been nothing but a burden to him for a while now.”
Tears began to blur your vision, forcing you to quickly duck down and quietly sip at your drink so as to not embarrass yourself even more.
You heard a shuffle and suddenly Jin was holding you, using both of his lengthy arms to cage you in and rest you against his broad chest. It had been a long time since a man had held you like that, and you practically went boneless at the contact. You closed your eyes and tried to will away the incoming tears, even going so far as to solely focus on the scent of Jin’s cologne as he soothingly said, “Y/n, listen closely to what I’m about to say. You and Hugo were never a burden to Jungkook, and you two never will be. Your marriage was sudden, but it doesn’t make it less valid than any other marriage out there. Jungkook has been with you for so long, he just doesn’t realize when other women are interested in him because he’s been off the market forever. But I promise you, if I knew for even a second that he cheated, I would tell you right away.”
You didn’t say anything.
Although Jin’s words were comforting, they weren’t necessarily true. A marriage that started from a healthy courtship and true love instead of inconvenient circumstances was of course more valid than yours. And even though you were sure of Jin’s honesty and loyalty to you, Jungkook could’ve easily kept his affair secret from Jin as well.
However, you didn’t wish to concern Jin anymore. You already put him through too much awkwardness tonight and didn’t want to keep him by your side as some sort of emotional sponsor any longer than you already have. Jin always loved parties and was the life of any one he was invited to, even if it was just a lame annual office gathering. You then felt guilty for putting Jin in a situation where he would even have to console you when he should be out enjoying karaoke with the rest of his coworkers.
You promptly pulled away from Jin and wiped at your face. He released you and also took a step back, carefully studying you for any signs of further turmoil. Once sure that your face was acceptably dry, you gazed back up at him and offered a thankful smile. “Thanks Jin, I’m sorry I just dumped all of that on you. I really have to use the ladies' room though, can you point me to it?”
“It’s right by the conference room,” Jin informed, pointing out the general direction for you. You nodded and took a few steps toward it before he grasped your wrist to stop you and ask, “Do you want me to wait for you?”
“No, it’s okay. I’ll just find you and Jungkook when I’m out. Go and join the others for karaoke.”
Jin nodded but seemed unsure.
You didn’t look back to see if he actually went to follow the others, instead just advancing to the restrooms, secretly looking forward to some alone time even if it had to come from a public bathroom.
Once you entered the restroom you were relieved to find it completely empty, you weren’t sure if you could handle another run-in with Jungkook’s female colleagues. They all seemed to have a personal vendetta against you.
Instantly, you dashed to the mirror to inspect your makeup, assuming at least the mascara was ruined from your little cry. Thankfully, the damage was minimal and you were able to clean the smudges up with a damp napkin. You focused all your attention on the dreadfully small task, trying not to study your reflection too much given it would just conjure up more mental comparisons to all the other prettier women you encountered that night.
Yet the small task couldn’t last a lifetime, and you had to resort to looking at your phone in search of things to do. You weren’t emotionally ready to go out and search for your husband, so you wanted to prolong your time in the bathroom. Although it hasn’t been that long since you left the house, you decided to text the babysitter for any updates about your son.
To Emily: Hey, is everything okay with Hugo?
It only took about 40 seconds for the teenage neighbor girl to text back an answer, clearly on top of things and overly eager to provide any updates.
Emily: Yes! He ate his dinner, took his bath and we’re about to get ready for bed.
Your motherly instincts were satisfied with that response, but it didn’t do anything to subdue your desire to return back home. Your thumbs briefly hovered over the keypad, somewhat hesitant with the next text you were about to send.
To Emily: Great, thanks again for doing this. Listen, I think we might head back home sooner than we thought. Don’t worry tho, I’ll still give you the pay for the full four hours.
Before you could wait for a response from her, the sound of multiple incoming footsteps interrupted the steady silence in the restroom. Muffled female conversation could also be heard, the slight laughter and bickering amongst a group of women approaching the bathroom. Your fight or flight instinct was triggered, and to avoid any more awkward encounters you rushed to the nearest stall and shut the door- fully prepared to wait out the faceless group of female colleagues.
You heard the restroom door swish open before the women burst in, chatting and giggling with their heels clicking against the tile floor. One of the unknown females made way to the stall beside you, the others presumably hovering by the mirror if the sudden comments about their appearances were anything to go by. You quietly sighed and pulled out your phone again, ready to drown out their office politics talk.
Only for the conversation to somehow steer towards you.
“Did you see her?”
“Of course, I was very confused, to be honest.” One of them replied. “I mean….look at Jungkook and you just assume that whoever he’s with is drop-dead gorgeous, and she was just eh.”
“Yeah, she was pretty plain. What was her name again?”
“Y/n.” A third voice cut in, this one eerily familiar to you.
You glued a hand over your mouth to silence your gasp.
It was Sana.
“Did he ever mention her around you? You are the closest to him in the office Sana, and we didn’t even know he had a wife until tonight.”
“No, I didn’t know until tonight either.”
“What?! That’s insane. Literally all the time he spends with you: getting coffee, buying you lunch, driving you home after late nights, and he conveniently never mentions that he has a wife at home?”
“That’s suspicious. But I guess if I had a dog like that at home, I’d never mention her either.”
Cruel laughter from all of them.
The toilet from the stall next to you flushed, then opened as a new voice entered the discussion while she approached the sinks.
“It’s more than suspicious. He doesn’t even wear a wedding ring. And he’s so close to Sana but never mentioned that he’s married?” A pause as she washed her hands. “It’s obvious what he’s trying to do. Jungkook is trying to have an affair with Sana.”
Although this exchange was extremely hurtful to you, you felt somewhat relieved that you weren’t the only one to see what your husband was doing.
A pause hung in the air as none of the women spoke for a minute, they were willing to gossip but apparently outright declaring the obvious was a step too far for them.
Eventually, one of them chimed in with their own observation.
“Can you blame him? Sana you’re the most beautiful person in the office and you look so good next to him anyway. Much better than that cow Y/n.”
Another round of obnoxious laughter that broke your heart.
“C’mon guys. We gotta head back. Jungkook is gonna get anxious if Sana is away for too long.” Someone teased.
They all murmured in agreement, heading towards the exit as a group before one stopped them with a final question.
“Wait, Sana. If Jungkook does want to have an affair with you, what are you going to do?”
Although you couldn’t physically see Sana, you practically heard the smirk on her face as she said, “Who says we already aren’t having one?”
--
Needless to say, you ditched the Christmas party almost immediately after the bathroom incident.
You texted Jungkook a white lie about Emily struggling with Hugo, although a good father would’ve known something was up because your son had never given babysitters any trouble before. But luckily, your husband also wasn’t doing so hot in the dad department either.
You would’ve felt bad for not telling the truth if the truth wasn’t so fucking embarrassing.
“Hey, I’m gonna go home to cry like a little girl because I caught your coworkers talking shit about me. Oh, and also your little girlfriend accidentally let it slip that you’ve been fucking her this whole time. K talk to ya later!”
You grimaced at the thought of actually sending that text.
Sure it’s what that cheating bastard deserves, but you just weren’t emotionally ready for that fight yet. Especially after the night you endured, you needed some time to pick yourself up and figure out what to do next.
Divorce was the next logical step, but you were financially dependent on Jungkook. If you moved out and took Hugo with you, where would you two stay? How could you afford to be a single parent? And if Jungkook were to try to fight you for custody or the divorce in general, you would need a damn good lawyer. Unfortunately, lawyers weren’t cheap, especially one that stood a chance against Jungkook and all his wealth.
Your shoulders sagged with the imaginary weight of all these burdens.
When you entered the high-rise penthouse that you called home, you were surprised to see Emily anxiously pacing the foyer in waiting for your arrival.
“Hey, how was Hugo?” You greeted politely, already opening your clutch to pull out the agreed-upon salary.
“M-Mrs. Jeon, I swear I tried to have him in bed by eight like you said but he’s being stubborn and said he won’t go to sleep until you come back and read to him-” The teenager rushed out all at once, clearly nervous that you would scold her.
You held a hand out to stop her rambles, using your other hand to give her the money, and offered her what you hoped was a comforting smile, “It’s okay, Em. Thanks for doing this on such short notice. Why don’t you run home now and try to enjoy your Christmas Eve?”
Emily looked relieved that you weren’t mad, gratefully taking the cash before grabbing her jacket and shoes to make her exit. “Thanks so much for this Mrs. Jeon. Merry Christmas!”
“Merry Christmas.” You farewelled while walking the young girl out, locking the door behind her.
You turned around and proceeded down a long hallway that led to the bedrooms, stopping at the door beside the master room which belonged to your four-year-old son. You opened it to peer inside, the familiar deep blue walls with painted-on sea creatures greeting you back, swiftly reminding you once more of Hugo’s obsession with the ocean.
Your son was bundled up in a twin bed so big that it practically drowned him, his small frame barely being recognizable in the large fish-printed duvet wrapped around his tiny frame, only his small and adorable face peeking out to stare right back at you.
Hugo was essentially a carbon copy of Jungkook. At first you were somewhat resentful about this, how was it possible that you carried a baby for nine months and he came out with absolutely none of your features? But after a while of watching Hugo grow up and come into his own slowly but surely, you were pacified by the conclusion that while he may look exactly like his father, his personality and heart took after you.
“Dumpling, why did Emily say you were giving her a hard time and wouldn’t go to bed?” You asked gently, sitting by his side and petting his black hair.
‘Dumpling’ was a nickname you chose for Hugo since you first found out you were pregnant with him. It stemmed from your sudden pregnancy craving to eat dumplings and nothing else, you once even going two straight weeks surviving off the food. There were many times where Jungkook had to bribe you into eating other things, playing on your guilt for not providing your baby all the nutrition he needed. But even now ‘Dumpling’ still stuck, if Hugo’s chubby cheeks were anything to go by.
“Mommy, I-I’m sorry but-” His big doe eyes looked up at you in teary guilt, “I really needed you here. It was a nece-necess-”
“Necessity, bub.” You finished for him, grinning at his attempt at a big word.
Part of you wanted to scold the boy for being difficult, but you didn’t have the heart to. Lately, Hugo has been more clingy to you than ever before. Yet it was practically impossible to punish him because Hugo has always been a good kid and you knew deep down that he didn’t act out unless there was something else going on. You suspected that it had something to do with the lack of his father’s presence that forced him to hold onto you like his life depended on it.
“Well try not to do it again, okay? Emily is a nice girl and she’s just following my orders when she tells you to go to bed.” You said, ducking down to peck the crown of his head and continue running your fingers through his hair.
Hugo nodded in understanding but ultimately stayed silent, basking in your cuddles.
All was silent for a passing moment, and while Hugo enjoyed his mother’s touch, your mind gradually returned to the turmoil that was your marriage.
A sudden epiphany struck you and bit your lip as you debated an idea.
Should you expose your son to your future plan?
The victim of any divorce has always been the children who were left behind. And the last thing you wanted to do was blindside Hugo. Perhaps you should play the hypothetical game just to see where your son’s head was at? It went without saying that Hugo was closer to you than Jungkook and you were more of a parent than your husband. But still, every kid deserved to have a say in their parents’ divorce.
“Bub, how would you feel if….it was just me and you?” You hesitantly inquired.
“What do you mean mommy?” Hugo titled his head in bewilderment and craned his neck to look back up at you.
“What if me and you went away to live together?” You clarified.
“Like a va-vayca-”
“Vacation? And no. But forever. Just me, you and no one else.” You whispered, as if Jungkook himself would storm in and catch you planning your escape with the toddler.
“Oh.” A pause as you could practically hear the mechanisms in his four-year-old brain trying to work out the logistics of what you just proposed. “Okay.”
The nonchalance in his youthful voice had you taken aback.
“It’s a really big decision, Hugo. You wouldn’t mind...not living with daddy anymore, right? You would hardly ever see him, dumpling.”
The boy shifted to lean more of his body against you, essentially resting against you with his head on your chest as he said, “But it’s like that already, mommy.”
Your heart broke.
You wrapped your arms around him and pulled him closer to you, feeling a maternal instinct to comfort and protect.
“Okay Dumpling. I need you to promise me not to tell daddy what we talked about.”
“”Kay.” Hugo yawned and closed his eyes, inhaling deep breaths of your scent and beginning the process of falling asleep. “When do we leave?”
“It’ll take some time, bub. You start school in a few months, so mommy will try to find a job while you’re there.” You told him, not bothering to try to explain the concept of a lawyer or apartment deposits on top of that. “But we can do this. It has to be a secret but you're my partner in crime.”
“Like spies?
You chuckled, “Yeah, like spies. Promise to work with mommy in utter secrecy?”
You held up a pinky, one that Hugo grasped with his own.
“Promise.”

Author’s Note:  So....A while ago before I took my long ass hiatus, I did a poll for which yandere story I should write next.  The Unsaid Vow won but that was around the same time that shit hit the fan in my life.  Recently was scrolling through my notes on my phone and found some of the plot points for this story and I needed a lil break from QQ.  Plus I know so many ppl were hyped for this concept so....Here ya go lol.  This is kinda short but it’s just a set up, Chapter one’s plot line will start a few months after this when Hugo will start kindergarten and Y/n will actually start looking in to jobs, lawyers and apartments.  Also I’m sorry but I’m really bad at writing for kids lol, and I absolutely refuse to write that gross ass baby talk so just pretend your son is a lil genius okay? Also srry Once but I needed really pretty girls to be villians in my story so yeah, Twice girls in here aren’t likable but aren’t reflective of how i actually feel about them lol.
Big thanks to @sushireads once again for creating the cover art for this fic.  They literally are becoming my go-to for fic art.
And my beta readers @bigbuffjoonie and @mustardpop! They beta’d for QQ and I came to them really early about this fic.  They were with me since the beginning and have given me advice with creative choices to just simple grammar.  They easily could’ve leaked the first draft of this too but they didn’t and kept it secret for a while.  I was really insecure about getting out of my comfort zone with this plot but they really guided me.

“Satoru! Where’s Megumi? You said he’d be here? Something about looking for a special grade?” you bounced around, grasping his arm and shaking it along with you. You loved annoying him. The two of you had always been close. As a child, Gojo was still as bright and cocky as he was today, he had many proclamations of being your protector. Though, as you two aged, you learned how to protect yourself, becoming a jujutsu sorcerer whilst staying by his side. Of course, you were nowhere as talented as Gojo, but you never let that stop you, and he never used that fact against you.
You were still high in the rankings, a grade 1 to be exact, and you worked hard to get there. Not because you wanted to catch up with Gojo, but because you wanted to make him proud. He was the only one who had supported you through it all. Your parents weren’t much help, but Gojo was there for you when your world was crashing down, when you had broken into pieces he would be the one to put you back together.
Always.
There had never been a time where you had doubted Gojo. Until, maybe now.
“I dunno, I got souvenirs!! Kikufuku Mochi! They’re really good! You gotta eat some with me!” his mouth quirked up into a boyish grin. Gojo never lost his childishness and that was something you had always admired, even if his personality constantly irked you during your tween years. Nonetheless, you both stay loyal to one another.
You couldn’t help but smile at him.
“Why’re ya smiling like a weirdo? You got a crush on me or somethin’? He teased, using his free hand to boop the fluff of your cheek with his pointer finger. He never failed to ruin the moment. Typical Gojo. You sighed, running a hand over your face. “Shut up Gojo, let's go find Megumi before something bad happens to the kid.” you huffed, earning a laugh from your companion.
___
“You didn’t tell me the cursed object was Ryomen Sukuna’s finger.”
“You never asked.”
“You little-”
“What’s the situation?” he suddenly spoke, cutting you off whilst catching the attention of both Megumi and the strawberry haired male. You knew in an instance that this male was the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna. He emitted the curse energy of Sukuna himself. You always felt a connection to Sukuna and had helped find several clues and his fingers, resulting in the higher-ups permanently putting you on this case.
“Gojo-sensei! Why are you here?” Megumi exclaimed, his eyes soon darted to your figure right beside Gojo. “Y/n-sensei too?” he gaped. It was obvious that both you and his mentor were close, though, lately, it felt like there was something deeper going on between both of you.
“Hey! How are you Megumi?” you chimed, approaching his wounded figure. “I don’t think he’s good Y/n. He’s all beat up!” he responded, fishing his cell phone out of his pocket. “I should show the second-years!”. He laughed as he snapped a few embarrassing pictures to send to his other students, causing Megumi to turn and hide his shame, along with his injuries.
“The higher-ups wouldn't shut up with a special-grade cursed object missing, so I stopped by while doing some sightseeing.” he huffed, knowing Gojo, he rolled his eyes. You did understand his dislike for the higher-ups. They tended to be more traditional and strict with their ways, while Gojo was...not. Of course, you would always stand by Gojo, even if it meant going up against your superiors. It was all or nothing with him.
“Then Y/n showed up! I don’t even know where she came from!” he loudly exclaimed, as if he wasn’t that skilled to the point where he could sense you the moment you step into the vicinity. You rolled your eyes, whilst the two boys sweatdropped. “So, did you find it?” he queried, staring directly at his student.
“Um… Sorry, but I ate it” the strawberry-haired male awkwardly chimed in.
A pause.
“For real?”
“For real.” the two replied in unison.
Gojo moved to observe him, leaning in close to his face. His chin propped onto his right hand in contemplation, a little pout forming onto his lips. He leaned in close with a laugh before pulling away from the male. Sometimes Gojo forgot that boundaries existed. The thought made you sigh, your mind suddenly recalling the time Gojo had tried to convince you to take a bath with him while still being in the tub, the bubbles barely covering what they needed to cover. Of course, Gojo enjoyed teasing you, along with being able to see your cute flustered face. You were pulled out of your daydream as he suddenly spoke, not realizing that you had completely missed their conversation.
“Then give us ten seconds. Once ten seconds are up, come back to us.” Gojo demanded as he stretched. You stretched your hand out towards him, taking his souvenir to protect it. You knew Gojo was craving to fight Sukuna. You could feel it. You were aware that he was stronger since he had only ingested one of twenty cursed fingers of Sukuna, but that still did not ease your anxiety.
Megumi, knowing how much of an overthinker you are, gently grasped your hand hanging on your side, lightly squeezing it in reassurance, as if to say ‘He’ll be okay, he’s the strongest.” You proceeded to nod at him and return the gesture. You pulled out a clean handkerchief, moving to slowly wipe the blood away from his face, aware of the fact that it would take some time to get him the proper medical attention he needs.
“But…”
“Don’t worry, I’m the strongest.” he cheekily responded. That eased your anxiety even more. You rolled your eyes once more at his cockiness. A small part of you hoped that Gojo would be graced with the opportunity to get his ass kicked, but a bigger part of you was aware of how strong Gojo was, and knew how quickly he would be able to defeat Sukuna’s vessel.
You slowly sat beside Megumi, straightening the short length of your skirt while stretching your legs. You had a love-hate relationship with your jujutsu uniform, love because you looked amazing in it, and hate because a certain someone made your skirt length a tad bit too short. Of course, you wore shorts underneath, but it was still irrational to force all of the females to wear something as revealing as a skirt.
Technically, it wasn’t mandatory for you to wear the uniform but Gojo insisted as it would raise “morale”.
As Gojo continued to ramble on, a dark figure was already ascending, aiming for Gojo himself.
“Behind you!” yelled Megumi, frantically reaching for your hand to pull you away but you just brushed him off, patting his knee to reassure him. “Don’t worry Megumi, I got you, just let Gojo have his fun.” he slowly nodded, still listening to his mentor ramble about mochi.
In a split second, Gojo was sitting atop of Sukuna, whilst Sukuna was crouched between your thighs, his arms on either side of your legs, the skin of your thighs barely brushing against his forearms. You laughed at his incredulous expression before raising a hand to pat his cheek and mockingly pouting before blowing him a kiss. Leaving him stunned, he quickly snapped out of his daydream before continuing to attack Gojo.
___
Your eyes fluttered open, the bed of flowers soft underneath your fingertips. You glanced around, hoping to find something, someone, anything familiar within the vicinity. Panic engulfed you, bile steadily rising in your throat. Tears began to gather in your eyes. Being in unfamiliar places had always given you a large amount of anxiety, especially since you’d just been sitting beside your pupil while watching your best friend fight the king of curses.
“What are you doing just sitting there dumbass?” a gruff voice called from behind you. You whipped your head back, hoping to find someone you know, but no such luck. The person behind you was quite intimidating. They emitted straight power and confidence. Unable to say anything, you stood there gaping at the stranger.
“What? Why’re you staring at me Y/n? You like me that much?” he teased, stepping closer to your figure to brush the stray leaves that had fallen onto your head. Even if he was a stranger, you felt no need to flinch or run away from him. The air around him had a sense of familiarity. As if he were a warm blanket amidst a harsh winter. You wanted to wrap yourself in him, feel him and his warmth. His love.
“Come on, let’s go princess. I don’t need you getting sick ‘cuz you were being a dumbass.” he sighed, wrapping his arm around your waist before pressing a kiss on your forehead.
At that moment, everything had faded away, leaving you with nothing but butterflies and the tingling sensation left on your forehead from his loving kiss.
___
You glanced at your shocked pupil. His eyes are wide with his mouth agape. “Y/n-sensei… Have you finally lost it? Y-You just patted Sukuna’s cheek!” he loudly exclaimed, throwing his arms up in the air. You laughed before avoiding his gaze, concealing the visible traces of shock etched on your face with a smile.
That vision. You have never had something of that sort ever occur in your lifetime. Your mind was completely muddled. Barely registering the next words that leave Gojo’s mouth.
“Both my student and my future girlfriend are watching, so I’m going to show off a little,” he smirked, leaning back onto Sukuna. They continued to fight, not that you were paying attention. You felt Gojo’s stare land on you a couple of times, yet your mind was still occupied with what you had seen.
You suddenly shot up, carrying Megumi as Sukuna’s vessel came skidding towards the both of you. You ran behind Gojo, knowing that it would be safer for Megumi. You sighed once more before sitting Megumi down. Dusting your skirt, you dug into Gojo’s bag of treats before munching on a piece of mochi.
“You jujutsu sorcerers are always trouble, no matter what era!” Sukuna growled, pointedly staring at you as he launched another attack at Gojo. “Though that doesn’t mean much to me.” he continued smugly before his eyes widened, seeing as the three of you had come out fully unscathed.
Megumi sighed as Gojo continued to count down, Sukuna’s vessel returning to his body once more after ten seconds, just as Gojo had instructed him to do so. You droned out for the rest of the conversation, lost in your thoughts on who the male could be. It couldn't be Gojo, the male's voice had a gruffness that Gojo didn’t have.
“You can really control it.” Gojo mused, stepping towards him.
“He’s kind of annoying though, I can hear his voice. He keeps mentioning this girl. Her name is Y/n I think? He keeps cursing her out! Saying things like ‘After almost a millennia she shows up!’ and ‘I’m never forgiving her, no matter how pretty she looks in that skirt.’ and--” he paused, scratching the back of his head. “He just swore at me for exposing him.”
Both Gojo and Megumi turned to you, eyebrows raised in curiosity. You froze. You weren’t sure of what these two wanted to hear, as you are just as clueless to the situation as they are. Contemplating how to answer, you ended up shrugging your shoulders, stuffing your face with even more mochi, resulting in Gojo sighing before knocking out and carrying the male.
___
You sighed, throwing yourself onto your bed before glancing at the cursed object currently on the palm of your hand. Sukuna’s severed finger was long while his nails were sharp. You traced the skin of the fingers, your curiosity getting the best of you. You studied his fingers from time to time but never got tired of looking at them, feeling the immense power it held.
“Why are you still up?”
“Fuck you Satoru. I hate it when you sneak up on me like that you bastard,” you grumbled, shoving your face even further into your pillows to avoid seeing his cheeky smile that you adored. “Aw. You’re so mean to me,” he fake pouted. “I just wanna be… appreciated,” he yelled in tiny, quoting that one lady.
“Come here. Take off your jacket and go change into proper nightclothes, assuming you’re staying the night again.” rolling your eyes. Satoru had made a habit of sleeping in your room, leaving his quarters almost always vacant. He basically lived with you! Even when both of you would see each other almost every day! Excluding the days when you are both on missions.
He smiled before rummaging through your drawers and silently made his way into the bathroom, shutting the door with a soft ‘click’”
When he came back, you were already fast asleep. Your fluffy sheets enveloping your whole figure, making you look so small in the mess of sheets you peacefully laid in. So beautifully peaceful. He smiled, leaning down to give your forehead a small peck, then situating himself beside your figure and pulling your body into his arms, knowing how well you slept when you were held.
___
You inwardly groaned, feeling as if your head was about to be split into two. You looked around, stuck in an unfamiliar place once more. This time, it was real life. You could feel it. You were able to control all your actions unlike during the first occurrence. Meaning that the vision you experienced may have been a memory, maybe from your past life.
This place had a menacing aura, a silent force pushing you to bend to its will. You knew better. Being an experienced sorcerer yourself. You grasped the holsters located under your skirt, silently clutching the pair of your guns before walking forward. You were able to enclose your cursed energy into your guns, shooting them out whenever and however you pleased.
“Nice guns. I remember when you didn’t use any weapons at all. Only using your cursed energy to fight. You were a much better fighter back then.” a voice drawled, a shiver going up your spine. You whipped around, eyes widening at the King of Curses sitting on his rightful throne. “What are you talking about Ryomen Sukuna?” you growled, clicking the safety off of your weapons.
“So formal. You used to call me Su-chan, you know?” he smirked, greedily enjoying your facial expressions. “That was then. Before you fucked me over,” he growled, his face contorting into anger. “You don’t remember what you did to me. Do you? You’re selfish. Then and now. You’re so fucking selfish. Get out before I lose my patience with you.” he growled, fists balling.
Your jaw dropped in shock. You didn’t expect his personality to flip so quickly.
“Fuck you, man. I don’t even know you. You don’t even know me like that. Stop acting like you do! What do you mean ‘back then’? You’re swearing at me without even telling me what I did!” one step. “You’re a bitch!” two steps. “You’re a pussy!” three steps. “Fuck you!” you were running now. “You’re a fucking dick! Suck my dick!” you spat right in front of his face, leaving him stunned. Who was crazy enough to curse out the literal King of Curses?
One, in his domain. Two, when he’s no less than a foot away. And three, to his actual face. Only an absolute mad person. It was a fitting description. You angrily peeked at his expression. Waiting for him to obliterate you. His hooded expression is dark. You stilled, unsure of what to do. He… He wasn’t moving nor speaking. Could you just leave? You weren’t even aware of where you are or how you even got here.
“Hey... Are you okay? You haven’t moved in a while. I’m sorry for swearing at you, but you kinda deserved it, not gonna lie.” scratching your head. You continued to stand awkwardly, hoping that he would just stop tormenting you with the silence.
“He-Ah!” you screeched as you were pulled into his lap. His arms wrapping around your waist to constrict you from moving, his hands entwining behind your back. You positioned one of your pistols beneath his chin, forcing him to meet your gaze. He smirked, placing a kiss on the barrel of your gun, further flustering you, warmth spreading to your cheeks.
“You still don’t know how to listen. After a thousand years.” he chuckled. “You’re still the same. Disregarding my anger, even though you’re aware of what I’m capable of.” he softly smiled. An unfamiliar sight. “You never liked listening to me in the first place did you?” he queried, tilting his head up to face you. The grip on your gun faltering. You leaned into him, your weapons falling down your side, clattering down the floor. Sukuna licked his lips.
You moved to kiss him. Your arms wrapping around his neck and pulling him closer to you, your lips fully pressing against his. The feeling of his lips hot and familiar on yours. You moved to clutch his hair, wanting to pull him into you, only for your world to break apart, plunging you into darkness.
___
You jolted awake, flying off of your bed and into the bathroom. Startling Gojo in the process. You splashed water onto your face in hopes of somehow calming your heart down. You remembered your dream vividly. Heavy footsteps made their way to you. You turned to face Satoru, tearing stinging your eyes as he automatically opened his arms and pulled you in.
“What’s wrong kiddo?” he cooed, pressing soft kisses onto your forehead. ‘Kiddo’ had been a childhood nickname bestowed upon you by your childhood friend himself. Seeing as you were younger than him. You clutched him tighter, wanting to feel him surround your whole body.
“I don’t know bunny. I just don’t know anymore.” you continued to sob whilst Satoru continued to hold you, his concern evident through the crease of his eyebrows, his bright cerulean eyes piercing through you. You didn’t understand what you were going through. Were you upset because of your affiliation to Sukuna? Were you upset because of the kiss? How were you going to tell Satoru about the kiss?
“You don’t have to tell me what’s going on. Even though I might already know. But, just try to calm down okay? Can you take deep breaths for me kiddo? Come on, you got this. You’re a good girl. In. Out. Yeah, that’s it baby.” he continued to comfort you, the sound of his voice soothing all your negative feelings and thoughts.
After another ten minutes of standing in the bathroom wrapped in his arms, your cries have finally ceased, your soft sniffles and puffy red eyes the only proof of your sadness. “Come on kiddo, wash your face for me. It’ll fix the puffiness.” rubbing your arms before making his way out of the bathroom, giving you time to gather yourself.
Your mind drifted back to Sukuna. Your fingertips unconsciously drifting to your lips, the kiss plaguing your mind. He had spoken quite a bit about how you never listened. Very accurate but how would he have known? It wasn’t as if he knew you. The possibility of knowing Sukuna in one of your past lives was close to impossible. He must be playing tricks with you, trying to bend you to his will. You may have had a moment of weakness last night, but it was going to be the first and the last time you let yourself go in front of him.
___
“Eat my ass Satoru!”
“Well, I’ve been trying for years bu-” he yelped, clutching the arm that you mercilessly attacked. He had a nasty habit of making too many sexual jokes. Of course, you weren’t going to deny the fact that you’ve shared similar thoughts, but you would rather jump out of a moving car than admit it to your best friend. Knowing him, his ego would triple and nobody had the time or patience for that.
“You are so mean!” he pouted.
“I am not! You’re just a little piss baby.”
“I’m filing for a divorce. I can’t tolerate this slander anymore.” he huffed, walking away after absolutely destroying him in Mario Kart. His pride took a hit. He had taught you that game! You couldn't be that much better than him, the screen displaying fifth place while you came second. You giggled as you followed him, clinging onto his arm as you peeked at his sour expression.
“Don’t be a sore loser Satoru. It’s not cute.” you chastised. Pointing your index finger at him, resulting in him playfully biting at you. “So what I’m hearing is, I’m cute the rest of the time.” he flirted, lowering his sunglasses to wink at your steadily heating face.
“Sure, but we both know who’s the cutest.”
“Of course you’re the cutest kiddo.”
“I was talking about Nanami, but sure. That’s good too.”
His jaw dropped. Did you find Nanami cuter than him? The Gojo Satoru? He was visibly stressing, running a hand through his soft snowy locks before letting out an exasperated sigh. “Fine. You’re not cute. You can go play with Nanami. I don’t like you anymore.” he pouted once more, shaking you off of him. “Noo-” you tightened your hold on him, pulling him to the exit of the arcade. “Let’s go get ramen. My treat since you’re so cute.” You teased.
You smiled at him before facing forward, missing the way Satoru’s lips parted in awe, a light blush dusting his soft pale cheeks. His wide eyes are full of love hidden behind the lens of his sunglasses. He turned away from you, placing his vacant hand on his chest, a futile attempt at calming down his racing heart.
“Okay.”
___
“Oh. You’re back.” he deadpanned, eyes boring into your figure. The setting was different today. Instead of being in what you had assumed what his domain looked like, you were sitting beside him on the engawa of a quaint traditional Japanese home. You scowled, furrowing your eyebrows as you scowled at the nonchalant male.
You lunged at him, hoping to pin him down to press for answers. Not realizing that your attire had also changed, tripping on the length of your floral patterned yukata, resulting in you landing on top of Sukuna himself. His eyebrows almost flying up to his hairline.
You peeked at him. His hair dishevelled, a rosy blush adorning his cheeks. Your eyes trailed lower, unable to look him in the eyes. A mistake on your part. His white yukata had slightly unravelled, exposing his tan, golden chest to your wandering eyes. Your mouth is drying up at the sight. Unconsciously licking your lips.
His shocked expression replaced with his usual smirks, his fangs making an appearance. “Didn’t know that you wanted it that bad, princess. What’s wrong? Your little friend isn't enough for you?” he sneered, gripping your waist with his hands, his razor-sharp nails slightly digging into your sides, causing you to squirm uncomfortably.
“What is your problem you freak?” you growled, fisting the fabric of his clothes.
“Me? I’m not doing shit babe. It’s you who has a problem.” he scoffed, sitting up, inching his face close to yours. Your noses lightly bump into each other as you felt your cheeks heat at the contact.
“Why so shy princess? I remember when you used to make me eat my words. You were so cute back then. Thinking that you owned me, thinking that you were in charge of me. Learn where you stand. You are nothing to me”
Lies continued to spew out of his mouth like vomit. He knew he was lying. He knew that you had him wrapped around your finger that moment he saw your face once more. The anger of the past dissipated. Only you left. It wasn’t his fault. You were his only love and you left him. Well, that's how he saw it.
The pain of losing his love had left an ever-present scar on his nonexistent heart. You had been the only person to ever stay by his side, no matter how much he tried to push you away, to insult you, make you hate him. To no avail, you bulldozed your way into his life and his heart.
“Stop lying to me. I know you’re lying. I can feel you lying Sukuna. I-I don’t know how to explain it...but I just know. I don’t know you, but you feel so familiar. Your habits, your personality. I keep getting flashbacks, or memories. I’m not sure. Though, I do know that they aren’t mine. At least… not in this life…” you trailed off, avoiding his piercing gaze. “But I know that the guy in those visions are you. It just… feels like you. Your warmth, your words, your voice…even your touch” you gently placed your forehead against his, closing your eyes for no sole reason. Only wanting to feel his energy. Feel him.
He sighed.
“Still the same as ever, princess. Always find your way into my heart” he heartily chuckled before continuing, placing the warm palm of his hand against your cheek. Your eyes flutter open at the contact. “I’ll explain since you asked so nicely” he winked, patting your cheek almost mockingly, reminding you of the time you once did the same. Heat rose to your cheeks.
“So…” he started.
████████████████
What.
████████████████████████████████
What was going on?
████████████████
You saw his mouth moving though no words escaped. You tilted your head in confusion, causing him to pause before cupping your cheeks.
████████████████████████
No words were heard. You were even unable to hear your cries.
████████
“I’m sorry.”
Then black.

You sighed as you laid next to Bucky once again, something you’d promised to never do again. You had sworn that you were done with him, but every time he came around, you forgot your promise.
You glanced at the clock beside you.
2:07 am
You sighed, if you could just get out of his hold, you’d be able to leave. For good this time.
You held your breath as you gently peeled his fingers from your waist and you paused when he shifted in his sleep. You held your breath and waited for him to settle before you began to move again.
When you were finally free of his hold, you wasted no time pulling your clothes back on. You silently chastised yourself as you searched for your keys and your stomach dropped when you spotted them on the nightstand next to where Bucky was sleeping. You chewed your lip for a few seconds before you felt yourself moving closer to his side.
Time stood still as you inched closer to the sleeping man and it felt as if fate was on your side when your fingers wrapped around your key.
You glanced back at the clock.
2:11 am
You hesitated for a few seconds and thought about what you were doing. Was this the right thing? Should you wait until the morning and talk to Bucky?
You shook your head, you knew that if you talked to Bucky, he would try to convince you to stay. Part of you knew that what you were doing was wrong, but you would never get another chance like this again. Now was your time to leave.
After one last look at Bucky, you slowly made your way to the front door and out of his life for good.
Tumblr media
After leaving Bucky that night, you made your way back to your hometown, a place you hadn’t been for years, and a place you were sure Bucky knew nothing about.
Your friends and family were surprised when you returned, but welcomed you back with open arms. Shortly after arriving, you found yourself back in a familiar routine, and after a few short months, you were able to relax enough to not feel the need to look over your shoulder anymore.
You loved your hometown in the summer, specifically for the block parties. You hadn’t been to a block party in years and you were excited to go to one. With it being hot out, you opted to wear one of your favorite sundresses. Before you left, you gave yourself a quick look in the mirror and walked out the door.
When you arrived at the party, you were in high spirits. You greeted everyone as you made your way to your friends.
“How are you doing?” your childhood friend, Aisha, asked after giving you a hug.
“Amazing,” you replied with a smile on your face.
“We need to get you something to eat, Y/n,” Kesha said before she stood to go get you a plate.
“I’m good, Kesha,” you protested, but it was already too late, she was already headed towards the food table to fix you a plate.
You didn’t realize how hungry you were until Kesha placed your plate in front of you and your stomach growled. You listened to your two friends gossip as you ate.
“Have you seen him?” Kesha asked, drawing you back into the conversations.
You quirked your eyebrow in question.
“Girl, you haven’t heard?” she responded. “Someone bought the old Hillman’s place a few months ago and he moved in like two weeks ago, and when I tell you that he is fine, believe me.”
You chuckled, “I heard that someone had bought their property, but I didn’t know they had already moved in.” You reached over to grab yourself a drink from the cooler. “What does he look like?”
“Delicious,” Kesha, responded causing everyone to laugh. “Say I’m lying.”
“Nah, you right,” Aisha responded. “Let me tell you, Y/n, when this man came into my parent’s store the other day, I ‘bout fell out. My sister had to ring him up ‘cause I forgot how to speak.”
“Damn,” you chuckled. “You still haven’t told me what he looks like, though.”
“Right, well he…” she began, but she stopped short and her eyes glazed over. “He’s right over there.”
You turned and followed her gaze and your heart dropped.
“Bucky?” you whispered.
“Damn, you know him?” Kesha asked as the three of you stared at the man.
You watched as he handed the dessert he was carrying to your old babysitter, Mrs. Miller before he bent down to give her a hug. You watched as he flashed her his mega-watt smile as the older woman fussed over him.
You watched as he play fought with a few of the neighborhood kids and dapped up some of the men. You shook your head and took a few steps back as he made his way through the crowd, stopping to talk to everyone in his path.
From what you heard, he had only been there for a few weeks and he had managed to worm his way into the hearts of everyone in town.
“You good, Y/n?” you heard Kesha ask.
“How did he find me?” you responded. “Shit, I gotta go.” You began to grab your belongings and started making your way back to your car.
You ignored the buzzing of your phone as you stuck your key in the ignition and turned. Your heart sank when nothing happened. Desperation forced you to try again only to be met with the same result. You banged your fist on your steering wheel and cried out in frustration.
“Fuck,” you whispered and your shoulders shook as you cried. You needed to get away, but how? You had just reached for your phone when you felt your car shift causing you to look where the movement came from.
You followed Bucky’s movements as he walked to your side of the car. Your heart thudded in your chest as he smirked at you through the window. Your hands tensed around the steering wheel when he knocked on the window and you shook your head ‘no’. His smirk bloomed into a smile and he reached for the door handle. Your breathing increased when you heard the metal from the lock snap and you shuddered when Bucky knelt down beside you.
“You’re a slippery one, Y/n,” he said. He placed his hand on your exposed knee and you attempted to move away from him. “But not slippery enough.”
“Bucky, please,” you begged as his grip tightened on your knee.
“You left,” he stated. His blue eyes were zeroed in on you and you shifted in your seat. “Get out of the car.” You shook your head and he sighed.
Before you could process what was happening, Bucky unbuckled your seatbelt and pulled you out of the car. You exclaimed at the sudden movement and you cowered as Bucky towered over you.
“You left,” he repeated, his voice much deeper than before. “Why?”
You shuddered and closed your eyes as he pressed his body closure to yours. You felt him stiffen, and a split second later, he pulled away from you. Even with your eyes closed, you felt the heat of his gaze as he dragged his eyes down to your stomach.
The seconds dragged on as Bucky stared at you. There was no hiding it anymore. No more hiding from him.
“You’re pregnant.” Your eyes flew open at his statement. The look of elation on his face threw you for a loop. “Do you know how long I’ve waited for this?” he rested his large hand on your stomach.
You blinked up at him in confusion.
“Do you know,” he began, “how many nights I spent buried deep inside of you, pumping my cum into you while you were sleeping?”
Your stomach flipped at his words and you tried to sidestep him but he blocked you in. “You’re not leaving me again.”

Uncover | Seulgi x F!Reader
Tumblr media
Genre/warnings: fluff, angst, homophobia (religious)
Summary: You quickly learn that while it was easy to be dishonest with yourself, it was nearly impossible to lie to Seulgi.
Word Count: 4.7k A/N: This has been something wracking up in my brain since June. It's kind of embarrassing that it's taken this long but it's a lovechild of my emotions. Enjoy, and I hope you feel things.
Date: 9/21/21
You can't imagine a day without her, because she's always been there. Right from the day you could remember. You bet that she could be your last memory too.
Your first memory has you sitting in the living room playing with your toys as you anxiously eye the other child in the room. Some strangers had rung your doorbell and your mom and dad had welcomed them into the house. Now they were in the kitchen, their voices blending into each other in the background.
The small girl in front of you decided to take the liberty of picking up your toys and playing with them. She ran around playing in the imaginary world in her head. You think that she's having fun and that you want to have fun too, but you can't seem to move from your position. As you slowly try to build up the courage to talk to her she approaches you.
She had been glancing at you from the corner of her eyes too. She watched your shy self idly playing all alone. She found it hard to approach you, scared of you pushing her away or being mean, but she thought maybe it was worth it. You could be a friend.
"Hi!" The strange girl is right in front of you with one of your stuffed toys in hand. "Do you want to play with me? I'm Seulgi!"
"I'm Y/N…"
For the rest of the hour the two of you chased each other in a shared adventure. Enraptured in your own little wonderland until your parents had to pull you apart.
Soon it became a ritual for those strangers, who you later learned to be Mr. and Mrs. Kang, to visit your house. Along them was always their daughter Seulgi, who wouldn't hesitate to pull you into a large hug right before starting a new adventure with you.
Tumblr media
You slightly trail behind your best friend. You smile at yourself from the sight of Seulgi happily skipping, somehow filled with even more vigor than she usually has. She's always been filled with much more energy than you, amazed by even the smallest of things. You suppose something truly spectacular must be happening today for her to feel so extra. She turns her head over to look at you, flashing you her perfect smile with her perfect cheeks. The ones you always want to squish when you remind her of how cute she is.
She continues to bounce but slows down to be by your side. One of the favorite parts of your day, and hopefully hers too, would be the peaceful walk the two of you would always share before and after school. It always reminded you of how close you are. How you can always rely on her to listen and to brighten up your day.
She bites her lip while still smiling. She must be thinking about something.
"What's got you so excited today?" You ask her with a giggle.
"Guess!" She pesters leaning into you. A familiar feeling emerges in your chest from the contact.
"You know I'm really bad at guessing…"
"Well why can't you try?"
"All I know is that it has to be something really special, right?" You decide to lean back and push her a little as a tease.
"It is! Mom and dad bought me my favorite ice cream that we can share later today!"
You laugh at her as she continues giving her dumb smile. Seulgi moves in front of you with her eyebrows raised, waiting to hear your opinion about the news.
"Is that it?" You ask still laughing. She pouts a little.
"What do you mean 'is that it'? It's my favorite! And I get to share it with you!" With that you pull Seulgi in for a side hug.
"I'm kidding, I'm excited too."
You enjoy listening to whatever nonsense Seulgi thinks about and decides to spill to you as you guys continue walking. You feel a bit disheartened at the sight of the school building, but looking at Seulgi again is enough to make the disappointment go away.
As much as you wish it did, your schedule wasn't entirely with your best friend. Instead you had to split up as you entered the school grounds to your different classes. Fortunately you shared at least some classes with her, and most importantly lunch. So when you sit down at your desk with nobody talking to you, you don't feel too lonely. The anticipation of being reunited with Seulgi was enough for you.
As usual Seulgi finds your figure sitting down at a lunch table and immediately rushes towards you. She taps your shoulder as she sits down, hurriedly opening up her lunch box, her beastly appetite striking again.
"Oooh." She oogles as the both of you breathe in the sudden aroma of homemade food. You peer over to look at the contents of her lunch box. You swore that you can see the steam coming off of her rice.
"Open up!" Seulgi playfully demands of you. You oblige as she not so carefully throws a grape your way. It would've been lost if you didn't move your head to make up for the completely inaccurate trajectory.
"How are you still bad at this?" You ask her after chewing.
"Maybe I just like to see you work for your food." You laugh at her response as you carefully pick up a spring roll from your box and place it in hers.
"Mom fried it this morning so you better enjoy."
You enjoy the long-time tradition of sharing food and eating in relative silence. That time was short lived though as a small group of girls joined your table. You didn't mind them much, you'd even consider them casual friends. At the same time though, they were bothering you.
You found it strange that despite finally being with Seulgi you felt so lonely. So lost.
Seulgi's popular, you know that. A lot of people try to befriend her and fight for her attention. Being the social butterfly she is she never hesitated to say hello back and return the friendliness. By proxy you met a lot of nice people, a lot of not so nice people, and more. They never really stuck by for you though. They stayed for Seulgi.
You wish you understood why you were so bothered by those that stayed. Why you were always feeling jealous recently. You wonder if it's natural to feel so intensely sick when you watch your best friend's attention be pulled away by several different girls at a time, or laugh at a guys joke. Well, maybe you do know why.
You quietly sigh and push the thought away, instead trying to join in the chatter and laugh with everyone at the table. Just as you were about to calm down and ease into the group a sudden large group of guys and girls approach. One boy in particular seems to be leading the pack. You purse your lips as you silently watch them come over. Seulgi absent-mindedly continues talking, completely unaware of what was about to occur.
You tighten your hands into a ball as a feeling bubbles inside you. You can't place what it is. Is it fear? Anger? Jealously? It's probably both.
The boy also tightens his hands as they grip onto his shirt. You watch him bite his lip and see how a red color crawls up his neck and reaches the tips of his ears. You hold in a breath as he finally arrives at the table and Seulgi looks up at him.
"S-Seulgi." He barely manages to say her name aloud.
"Huh?" She looks at him cluelessly but gives him her full attention anyways.
"I like you! A lot! So if you can, please go out with me!" The boy's words spill out, as if his mouth was a floodgate holding them back. He reaches behinds him and quickly bends over to give Seulgi a piece of red paper, shaped like a heart. He probably wrote about his feelings extensively on it.
Your eyes had been focused on the love-stricken boy. It's hard for you to move your eyes towards Seulgi. You realize now what you're feeling. You fear what you'll see when you look over at Seulgi to see her reaction.
You notice that she's red too, the color slowly blossoming across her cheeks.
Why does this hurt you?
"Erm, ah, thank you." She says out of politeness and bows back. She gives him a smile and that seems to excite him. "I'll think about your confession."
He eagerly nods his head and leaves the table, happy with the results of his actions. The crowd around him seem to think that was a good ending and started whispering and congratulating him. You look back at your table and the girls are murmuring too.
"He's cute, you should definitely go for him!"
"I heard he treated his last girlfriend nicely. They're still on good terms."
"I've never seen you date before. Isn't now your time to explore?"
Seulgi just takes it all in and nods along with what they say. Your head hangs low as you pick at your food. You don't dare look up. You're scared of seeing Seulgi's face again. You're scared that tears will start falling.
It was like the weight of the world had fallen on your chest.
When the bell dismisses you from lunch you quickly go to your next class. You don't say goodbye to Seulgi or any of the other girls. You feel the light graze of Seulgi's fingertips as she tries to stop you, but you're too fast.
The rest of the school day is you trying to focus on studying, and when your last class finishes you're not sure what you'll do. Everybody leaves the classroom before you as you take some time for yourself. Breathing in and out, you mentally prepare yourself to face Seulgi, as if she was some type of monster.
As you exit the building and get near the gates you see a swarm of people with Seulgi in the center. They're probably there to ask about how she feels about the confession that happened. You sigh and almost contemplate leaving without her, but her eyes quickly find yours. Seulgi politely but abruptly says her goodbyes and runs towards you.
As Seulgi's figure grows nearer there's a feeling of satisfaction. It was like you had won some petty fight, and that feeling was able to erase the fear and nerves you had earlier. A smile grows on your face she reaches your side, your bodies automatically matching your steps. You enjoy the warmth when she locks her arm with yours. Not knowing what to say, you let silence fill the space in between the two of you until Seulgi decided to break it.
"So, do you wanna stay at my place for a bit so we can eat that ice cream?"
Tumblr media
Seulgi's keys jingle as she unlocks her front door. You follow in after her, putting your shoes away as she dashes towards her refrigerator to retrieve the ice cream from the freezer. You walk up towards her as she hands one to you. Naturally, both of you make your way outside into her backyard.
Her backyard is quaint, housing a nice garden that her mother often tends and one large tree. The two of you rest under it, appreciating the winding arms of the apple tree that has always given you and Seulgi refuge. You enjoy the taste of the ice cream, perhaps the shade was enhancing its flavor. Either way you understood why its Seulgi's favorite. The refreshing taste and Seulgi's presence puts a smile on your face. You feel yourself opening up again as you guys joke and talk about your day in between bites and licks. By the time you finish eating your ice cream she had managed to convince you that she needed your extra help in math. As always you agreed to tutor her.
She argues that you should stay underneath the tree as she gets up to throw away the trash. You watch as she goes back inside the house, coming out again with a shiny apple in hand that was picked only a couple days ago. You laugh a little as you ask,
"Still hungry?"
"Enough for a little snack."
She sits by you and takes a rest on your lap. You brush her hair away as you look into her eyes. You can tell she's thinking about something.
"What's wrong?" You ask her.
"Well, I was just wondering, why were you upset earlier?" She says in a serious tone.
"Huh?"
"You didn't even say goodbye at lunch, and don't pretend I didn't notice you almost leaving without me." There's a hint of hurt in her voice. You feel bad for not keeping your emotions in check better, that you threw a fit over something so small.
"Well," Your voice trails off as your mind struggles to think of a response, "what does that boy mean to you?" You decide to ask.
"Oh so now you want to know about that too?" There's only a slight annoyance in her voice as she gives you an eyeroll.
"I'm your best friend, of course I'm curious." Seulgi huffs at your response. She can't blame you for wondering so she takes a moment to think before answering honestly.
"I mean, I guess they weren't wrong. He's kinda cute, and I know it took a lot for him to say that to me. I admire him for it." She said it in a casual manner, as if it wasn't a big deal. Yet for you it meant everything. And it hurt.
You can't control the frown that found its way on your face.
"Hey…" Seulgi quickly gets up from your lap. She has a confused expression as her eyes scans yours. "Hey, what's wrong?" Her voice is soft as she puts a hand on your shoulder.
Your chest is about to explode.
"Do you like him or something?" She continues to grip onto your shoulder with a confused face. She thinks she was the one who did something wrong. That she's stealing someone away from you, but that was so different from the truth.
"No, Seulgi, I-" You pause to think about what you're going to say. Something was about to come out instinctively, and you don't know whether or not that was the best decision.
"You what?"
She presses you for an answer but you're still thinking. You're thinking about you know you can't handle her possibly being close to someone else. To share all of her laughs with that boy. To smile at him and spend time with him. To do all the things that exists between you and her. Living would feel wrong if you were no longer the one she ran to and spilled her secrets to.
Who are you if not Seulgi's biggest and only confidant? The only one who could soothe her in her darkest moments? The one who understands every feeling and thought just by the way she blinks?
You're intimately familiar with the feeling in your chest now. You think that you know what it is too, but that doesn't make you hate it any less. If you could, you'd sacrifice every fiber of your being to forget that feeling and throw it away. To pretend it doesn't exist. But your wishes don't make it go away.
You can be dishonest with yourself, but it's impossible to lie to Seulgi. Not when she looks at you like that.
"I like you."
The words are barely a whisper but she hears. Seulgi's hand falls off your shoulder and you want to cry again. You said the wrong thing. She was going to think you're disgusting. She would never go on a walk with you again. You'll never smell her perfume again. You'll never hear her laughter again. She'd never touch you again. Never speak to you again.
Her mouth is open slack. Your eyes water and you breathe in, readying yourself to apologize profusely. To rescind the blasphemous words that slipped out of your foul mouth.
"I'm so sorry. Just ignore it. I take it back. I think I'm sick or something, you know, delirious. Just ignore it please. Please." Tears begins to fall down your face as Seulgi seemingly snaps back to reality. She reaches towards you, taking your face in her hands as her thumbs swipe away the tears.
"Oh my god, no, don't cry." She begs you to stop, but you can't.
"I-I'm, I'm sorry." The tears continue to make their way down your face. A horrible sickness wells in your stomach and suddenly it feels below freezing as you shake uncontrollably.
"No, don't be." She hugs you tight and whispers in your ear. "I like you too. So stop crying. For me, please." She strokes your back as you cry, hoping that the touch could settle you down.
It takes a while for you to register what she says, but as soon as you do your body seizes up. You think that maybe your everything, your soul, has shattered into a million pieces from Seulgi's words. How in the world could it be true? It couldn't be, not in this universe, not in this timeline.
Yet it was.
When Seulgi hears your sniffling stop and your body letting go of its tension she separates her body from yours. Her eyes are all you can see, and all you can see in them is pain.
"I'm sorry for making you worried." You felt guilty that she had to see you cry. The outburst at school wasn't great either.
"Don't worry about it" She reassures you by taking a hand in hers, stroking it with her delicate fingers to show you her affection. For several moments you allow yourself to breathe. Seulgi also took the time to process everything, and the two of you stared at each other with the new understanding of your feelings. Time seems to pass so slowly when you observe each other with care.
"Seulgi…" You mumble when what felt like years passed. She understood what you meant when she saw the way you looked at her lips.
In that moment you couldn't care anymore. Neither could Seulgi, it seemed, as you pressed your lips on hers and she pressed back. Greedily, the two of you dived in for a taste. Your lips on hers, her tongue in your mouth, it was something you needed. It was a flavor you could relish forever, perhaps this is what sin tasted like. Yes, this is what they'd call it. A sin.

It feels like everything has changed, but at the same time it hasn't. You still spend every second possible with Seulgi. You spend your time doing the same things. Yet everything feels so different, it feels brand new. Magically, it feels better than before. Is this the power that Seulgi has over you?
Nobody knows, nobody needs to know. After all, you're still Seulgi's bestfriend. Is there really anything different? Maybe just the tighter hugs, the kisses, and the alluring smiles, but that's all. Life is easy this way.
After bidding Seulgi goodbye in front of her house you go home to eat dinner with your family. You come home and greet your parents with a smile as you rush to join them at the dinner table. They share that smile as they take note of your enthusiasm recently. As you eat quietly for a while your mom finally asks you what's been going on to make you shine so much.
"Well..." You debate on what to say. It's been over a month since you confessed to Seulgi but you were still feeling high. You've been holding it for so long you wished you could tell someone. Why not them? You want them to be happy with you too. "I've been dating Seulgi."
"Hm?" Your mom asks you somewhat aggressively for clarification. The sudden stillness in the air alarms you. You look up from your food to see your mom staring as your dad stops eating.
"I-I told her I liked her and she liked me back." You say hoping to clear whatever confusion was occuring. Yet the look on your parents didn't fade.
"What happened?" You father's question sounds more like a statement as he sternly places his utensils down.
"What do you mean what happened? I just told you."
"What happened to make you like this?" His cold voices breaks a little as you notice his eyes tearing up. Was he seriously upset about this?
"You're joking, right?" Your mom joins in with an angry tone.
"Of course I'm not. Mom, she makes me really happy." You struggle to keep yourself composed under the scrutiny of both of your parents.
"Y/N. You are not happy. You're messing with the devil right now and he's fucking up your mind."
"Have you not been doing your prayers?"
You can barely fight for yourself at the dinner table. Your parents argue with and over you, about the causes and the whys. About the signs and what happens next. You cry as you watch your decision unfold into your nightmare.
You knew deep down inside this would happen, but you hoped and prayed that it wasn't true. Perhaps Seulgi made you too happy, too brave. Everything else felt like it was going right so you convinced yourself this would too. You've flown too close to the sun and it backfired. You should've never said anything.
As you try to block out the fight unraveling in front of you you could only scream one thing while crying. "Wouldn't God want to love me? Wouldn't He want you to love me too?"
The scrape of the wooden chair echos as your mom shoots up straight. "I will not house some heathen under my roof. Get out until you realize what you've done to this family."

It's raining. The relentless torrent of water against your body traps in the coldness from the night, leaving you shivering as your feet move on their own. They move to the only other place that feels like home. The only other person that feels like home.
Soon enough you find yourself in front of a familiar door, incessantly knocking. Muffled footsteps come from the other side of the door as you hear locks being undone until the door finally opens. Instantly there's a look of worry on Mr. Kang's face as he takes in the scene in front of him. He quickly ushers you in and shuts the door.
"Who is it?" A voice rings from upstairs.
"It's Y/N!" Mr. Kang yells back, and soon enough you hear a flurry of footsteps coming downstairs. Seulgi, in her tired glory, appears. She rushes towards you as her father went off to find you some towels to dry off with.
"Oh my god, what happened? Why are you here? Are you okay?" Seulgi's honey eyes are glistening with worry. She doesn't seem to care too much about the fact that you're soaked as she embraces you in a hug. Her body soothes you, its warmth penetrating the cold, wet clothes that clung to your body. You let her ground you back to reality before speaking.
"I don't wanna talk about it right now." You barely manage to get the words out. Your throat feels tight, constricted. Throughout the entire time the tears haven't stopped running down your face as it mixed with the rain water. Seulgi rubs your back as her father comes back. Both of them begin patting you dry.
It feels a bit pathetic as you have two people fretting over you so much, but you're too tired to move. Maybe not even tired, but rather stuck in your own thoughts.
"Go get her something to change into. Are you gonna stay the night?" Her dad asks after making Seulgi go back upstairs to find clothes. You just nod in response and follow her.
When you enter Seulgi's room you find her hastily going through her drawers, finding something comfortable for you to wear. After digging through her clothes she hands you some sweatpants and an oversized shirt, much like her own outfit she was sporting. Your hands are in front of you and holding onto the clothing, yet you still can't seem to move much. Instead your lips tremble as you look at the floor. Seulgi sighs as she nears you, unfolding the clothes and looking at your trembling hands.
"Don't make me dress you." She half-teases. When she realizes you can't will yourself to move a grim line stretches across her face. She wonders what has gotten you so riled up to act this way.
Carefully, she removes your clothes and throws them into the laundry pile. Her fingers innocently skim your body as she puts on the clothes for you, with you doing the minimal movements required to help her. Over the years she's already been more than familiar with your body, and the same for you with her touch. Although you can't vocalize it you silently appreciate the care and intimacy she demonstrates.
Soon enough she finishes though and pulls you towards her bed. Sitting you down she places herself behind you after grabbing a dry towel. She begins to dry your hair while letting you stay silent. Another thing you appreciated about her. She let you take your time.
"Seulgi..." Your voice croaks out as if you've aged several decades.
"Yes?" She stops drying off your hair, instead placing the towel down as she wraps her arms behind you and leans forward.
"They know." She doesn't say anything but her body is still for a minute. Afterwards she finishes drying off your hair, at least one of you can stay calm in this situation. That's what you need. "They told me to come back when I come to my senses."
"It's okay. Everything will be okay. We'll figure something out." You let her guide you down on her bed. Your crying had stopped a while back, but the shock coursing through your body didn't. As Seulgi pulled up the sheets and began to hold you you turned around and looked at her. You looked into the eyes that told you everything. Right now they told you that all Seulgi had on her mind was you.
So you think that you should only think of Seulgi too, because you can always forget about the consequences when you're with her. With a kiss on your forehead she tells you to sleep. She gets impossibly closer to you, holding you tight. Holding you as if you are her treasure.

The familiar trees and houses enter your view as you drive down your childhood neighborhood. Your fingers tap on the steering wheel as you listen to the song Seulgi played in the car. Out of the corner of your eye you see her smile at the thought of visiting her parents. It's enough to make you happy as well.
As you near her parent's house you pass by your own. It's been years since you've been inside, years since you even saw it. You're okay with it though, but your mind still wonders how your parents are doing. You wonder if the house is lonelier now, if they ever think about the sparse letters and phone calls you have exchanged and how they always were fights. Do they know you and Seulgi are coming to visit? Will they want to see you?
Whatever the answer is it doesn't matter. The only family you have to worry about is the girl right next to you and her parents. You feel thankful that she's your first love and hopeful that she's your last. Despite how many times your lives have separated you two, how you both dated other people and had your own quarrels, you guys came back to each other in the end. She changed you during your formative years and supported you as the two of you have grown up.
No one else can make you uncover these sides and feelings like she does.
