I kinda want a soulmate AU where on your eighteenth birthday your soulmates last name appears somewhere on your body

But in this universe Steve gets adopted by Hopper and changes his last name after high school

On his eighteenth birthday Eddie finds Hopper written on his neck and is so confused because the only Hoppers he knows are, the chief of police (who’s almost busted him for drug dealing multiple times not to mention several years older) and his daughter (who is much younger and definitely not his type (guys))

Steve has Munson written on his hip and he knows it’s probably Eddie but he doesn’t bring it up because Eddie probably hates him for who he was in high school

Then one night post Vecna they’re in the back of Eddie’s van out by the quarry and they get on the subject of soulmarks and Eddie asks about Steve’s

(Because he’s been slowly falling in love the last few months and even though it won’t be his name on Steve he still needs to know who the lucky person who has Steve as a soulmate is)

And Steve goes quiet

Eddie’s just about to start apologizing and backtracking when Steve pulls up the hem of his shirt

Munson

Right on his hip in deep red letters

Eddie just stares trying not to let his feelings show

“What’s the matter”

Unable to come up with words Eddie moves his own hair and twists his neck to show Steve his soulmark

“Oookay, why is this a problem?”

Finally Eddie can’t take it anymore

“Because it’s Hopper and not Harrington! Because the only Hoppers I know are the chief and El, and it’s definitely not either of them! Because I wanted it to be you! Because I love you!”

By now Eddie’s full on crying and Steve’s comfort instincts take over and he pulls him onto his lap rocking him back and forth until his sobs dissolve into hiccups

“Would this be a good time to tell you that Hop adopted me and my last name is no longer Harrington?”

For Them

About to go to bed and this plot idea came into my head so I'm gonna be quick.

Danny and Dani (or Ellie) are on the run from well... everything. (Bad Fenton parents? Vlad? GIW? IDK pick)

They almost escape into the zone when Ellie gets hit by something that starts destabilizing her. They escape but toss themselves into a random portal that opened up and crash land in a dark gloomy city alleyway. For a moment they think it's okay, they're safe for now but they gotta keep moving. So they do, they run and run into the city until they find a place to finally rest.

It isn't until then they realize what's happening to Ellie. Her body is destabilizing now that the adrenaline she had was going down. She starts panicking and freaking out cause she knows they don't have any ecto-dejecto.

Danny, freaking out and desperate to save her freezes her body with ghost ice to make her stop melting (basically it doesn't hurt her despite not having an ice core but instead kinda puts her in a status)

And it works.

But it sends Ellie into a deep sleep as well.

Danny, stressed and on the verge of passing out from using his ice core (and willing some of his protectior spirit into as well to keep Ellie safe in the ice), looks up when he hears footsteps coming towards him.

He passes out when he realizes the place they had hidden in, a warehouse, had already been pretty cold even before Danny had used his ice powers.

When he wakes up, he realizes hes been moved from the warehouse and freaks out and tries to find Ellie. When he opens his door from the room he was in, hes greeted by cold (but Danny isn't bothered by it) and a man, a Dr. Victor Fries, who just so happened to had been at that warehouse that night looking into stealing some valuable equipment being imported but instead had watched a young, badly hurt teen desperately try to save and have to freeze his 'sister' as she was melting in front of him.

I need Bruce doing things he believes is completely out of character for Batman just to scare people. Like full on just putting Brucie into Batman as revenge against the annoyances he’s received.

Hal walks into the meeting room early for once and sees Batman kicking his feet a doodling in his lead lined notebook with a sparkly gel pen.

Hal: “uhhh”

Batman: “Hi GL~”

Hal: flees

By the time the meeting comes around Batman is once again the stoic scary man he always is. Hal is half convinced that it was a hallucination of some kind, maybe lack of sleep or that bagel that Barry dared him to eat.

The meeting ends and everyone is just hanging out. Hal goes over to talk to Barry when he swears he hears Batman’s voice say “no one will ever believe you” in his ear. Hal doesn’t sleep well for a week.

(Batman is very smug about it, that’s what he deserves for eating his bagel. Alfred made the spread for it.)

I don’t get why some people just don’t understand what Amalia and Yugo have in common.

I get that they’re not yumalia shippers but you don’t have to be one to notice the similarities.

Cuz they got TONS in common let me tell you that.

(This is just a quick list I came up with so I pretty much just wrote everything that came to my mind when thinking about these two. I’m pretty sure they got much more things in common than the things I wrote down so I’ll write more later on.)

They are both stubborn.

They both have abrasive big brothers.

They both love adventures and want to spend some more time adventuring rather than staying in one place and ruling.

They both tend to do anything else but do their duties as princess/King.

They both love their people and have stated that they would do anything for them.

They both have a personal love for Boofbowl.

They both love nature and want to preserve its beauty by protecting it in their own way.

They’re both the type to kid around with their friends.

They don’t like violence and think it’s barbaric. (Yugo’s a protector while Amalia’s the type to feel disgusted in violence if there’s no point to it.)

They were both the youngest members of the Brotherhood.

They used to have an older member of the Brotherhood who served as their guardian (The guardians being Ruel and Eva).

Their big brothers got significantly worse as the years went by partly as a result of a horned woman's manipulations (The women being Aurora and Echo).

They are both labelled by their respective people as their warrior and protector.

Their people have also suffered the most out of the many inhabitants in the World of Twelve. The entire Eliatrope backstory is one disaster after the other, and the Sadida kingdom has been targeted by Nox, suffered Ogrest's chaos the most, and they’re now one of the Necromes’ main targets.

They are extremely dependent on wakfu, both cannot live without it. If there was no wakfu energy on the planet, Amalia would turn into a tree and Yugo would rapidly grow older before dying when he reaches an age that is too old to live at.

They both lost their older brothers during a life-threatening situation.

They both came from an original source they cannot live without. For Amalia, it’s the Tree of Life and for Yugo, it’s his dofus.

Even the things OUTSIDE of their common traits like their races oddly looks coincidentally the same too.

They both have emitter powers.

Both of their gods are creation based (Eliatrope Goddess is the sole creator, she created the source of all life called Wakfu, while Sadida created nature itself in the World of Twelve.)

Both of their gods took part in creating the dofus (Eliatrope Goddess danced with the Great Dragon to make the six eliatrope dofus, while Sadida made ten Sadida dolls to charm the primordial dragons in order to make the six primordial dofus.)

I like to hc that, much like us (the fandom), the Valar also have their blorbos and special little guys.

Manwë is (canonically) besties with the Vanyar, Ulmo with the Teleri, Aulë with the Noldor, plus of course his Dwarves. Varda is the fan favorite of all Elves and loves them (she got so excited about them in Lost Tales, it was so cute).

Oromë brought the Mearas as a gift and got super excited that an entire kingdom of horse girls was formed. He loves the Rohirrim and sometimes disguises himself as one of them to sneak into their hunting parties. Vána is in on it too.

Yavanna and Irmo absolutely adore Hobbits and blessed them with a great love for quiet countrysides and the charming ability to just enjoy life and its good things. Irmo also visited them in disguise and brought pipeweed to make friends. Aulë and Yavanna ship Bagginshield.

Nienna, as usual, loves everyone, but has a special soft spot for Orcs because they need someone on their side. She probably adopted them already and forced Námo to go along with it and let her have them whether he wanted to or not.

I've got so much I want to say about Polite Society. But I refuse to post anything too spoilery yet.

So one thing I will say is the way Lena's depression and mental health is written is incredible. So often when men write women with mental health issues they write this sort of "prettily struggling" womsn in a spiral.

(this infamous queens gambit scene comes to mind)

They're never allowed to actually be ugly or gross or even not have their hair and makeup be perfect.

Like beth here is in a pretty frilly top shes reclining in an uncomfortable fashion. Her makeup looks perfect and he cardigan is prettily draped over her shoulders. She's meant to be attractive. Her sadness is almost fetishised.

but then Lena looks like this

Whereas Lena's a WRECK. It's considered an achievement she showered. AND shes proud of herself for that small acomplishment. Shes angry. She destroys her work. She's dressed in sweats and pyjamas with either no makeup (if i remember correctly) or makeup that looks like it's been on for days. There's a scene where shes wandering aimlessly and just buys a duck to eat. And she does not eat it daintily or prettily (and no its not a chicken ppl seem to be confused).

I love that she spends all the first act in hoodies and pajamas looking like shes not washed in 3 days. It's just so good to see a woman direct another woman with depression. There's so much to be said about the male gaze and how it even impacts the portrayal of women going through crisis. The removal of that lens has created what I will argue is the most authentic experience of depression in a woman I've maybe ever seen. I literally cannot think of another time I've seen that.

thinking about. vampire bruce. adopting werewolf dick grayson. and his little brother / fellow werewolf jason todd.

dick’s pack were his parents and the circus troupe. despite haly’s best efforts, after the elder graysons die, dick is taken by child services instead of staying with his pack

werewolves and vampires are known, but discriminated against in most places. gotham is, ironically, a safe haven for Creatures, largely because of the vampiric Prince of Gotham- Bruce Wayne. they also aren’t super common, making up about 30% of the world’s population in total

child services dumps dick (9) in an orphanage in gotham, which he promptly runs away from. on the streets he meets jason (7) and they stick together from then on, becoming each other’s pack (jason’s an orphan too)

dick (14) is helping jason (12) take the hubcaps off the batmobile when they are caught, and they book it until batman successfully corners them. he ends up bringing them to Ma Gunn’s School for Boys

soon after, they figure out Ma Gunn is running a crime ring using the students. they contact batman (after getting as many kids as they can out, of course) and bruce pretty much offers to take them in

they’re cautious about it, but know it’s a pretty good deal, so they agree. bruce brings them to the batcave and then up into the manor, revealing his identity right away so there’s no misunderstandings. they meet alfred (who immediately loves them) and spend the night exploring the house before falling asleep in one of the many spare bedrooms

after that they each get their own room in the manor, but both choose a room near each other and bruce. they sleep in bruce’s bed most nights, anyway (touch and scent are important things for werewolves, bruce learns).

eventually the two start heckling bruce about training them, which he eventually gives in to (puppy eyes are extra effective when it’s from a werewolf). dick chooses the name Robin and jason decides he might as well go along with it so it becomes Batman and his Robins

dick tells bruce and jason about tony zucco and all of that happens pretty much the same but with jason there as emotional support and also Werewolf Stuff (dick leaves a claw mark on zucco as a permanent reminder)

dick joins the teen titans at 16 but still lives in the manor. at this point he has become Nightwing and gives the Robin title fully to jason

when dick is 17 he goes on an off-world mission, giving jason a bear hug before he leaves (it’ll be the longest they’ve been apart since they met 8ish years ago) iykyk what’s abt to happen

during that time, jason is kidnapped by the Joker when he goes on patrol (without telling bruce). joker sets a trap for batman, of course, and beats jason with a silver crowbar coated in wolfsbane (shush let me combine lore)

bruce gets to the door of the warehouse right before it explodes, so him and jason are both caught in the blast- jason more so of course

jason dies. bruce brings his body back to the cave and puts it a cryofreeze chamber, waiting for dick to get back before they bury him and have a funeral

bruce calls dick the next day and tells him. he sends clark to bring dick back and another hero to replace him so the mission can continue

right as dick gets back, however, superboy-prime messes with the universe and jason un-dies, much to the batfam’s surprise and happiness

he still needs to recover from some injuries, but his werewolf healing is almost working properly again so it doesn’t take more than a week or two

dick kills the joker. bruce doesn’t stop him.

- he comes close and cradles your face in both hands before he kisses you

- he teases you and kisses the corner of your mouth or cheek and you pull away to leave thinking that's it (maybe he doesnt like pda Tav is thinking) then gale pulls you gently to him and kisses you deeply

- gale grabbing you close for a hug ( to feel your heartbeat and to feel his) and nuzzling your hair then he pulls back to lean into you to kiss you deeply

Idk how to write smth modern durgetash, but I do have a list of hcs which I find mildly amusing to consider:

- Gortash obvs wearing suits. But also has a huge collection of cuff links including a pair of gold skulls

- Kaidos however, full black tracksuit + black beanie and mask. Maybe also fingerless gloves

- Despite dressing like that, he is allowed to the top floor of whichever skyscraper Gortash own with his tech company that definitely dodges taxes

- Kaidos can drive, and Gortash will gift him cars, but he will never get into one with Kaidos driving. They will crash.

- While getting ready in the morning, Gortash will play 70s love songs. Depending on the mood, this will either make Kaidos smile and happily watch Gortash while he remains in bed, or instead whine and throw whatever he grabs first at the radio

- If Gortash really wants to bother Kaidos, he will play classical/operatic music. Usually done when he feels Kaidos has spent too much time laying in bed

- Gortash probably has a private gym in his luxury penthouse purpose made for Kaidos. He will also watch him workout while on business calls

- If he has to go on business trips, Kaidos is joining him. They’ve never not completely ruined a hotel room they’ve shared

Agree or disagree, when Branch and Poppy are expecting their first egg, Branch was quick to say he’ll hold it in his hair. For safety of course since Poppy is a little wild even in her later years. It wasn’t until Poppy offered to hold the egg for a bit so he could relax his hair and Branch quickly said no. She realized he has a little overprotective of the egg and it caused Poppy to lose a little color which he realized was his fault. After a long discussion Branch give Poppy the egg to care for the remainder of the incubation period. Branch did check in the egg throughout the time, and Poppy let him since it gave him security. Otherwise he’d go crazy trying to find out from the others how the egg was doing.

He’s a family troll for sure, whipped and wrapped around his wife and kids fingers, but it’s all out of love.

Kurt Wagner and Names

Just some headcanons/observations about Kurt Wagner and names because has anyone else noticed that he very rarely gets called by name? Seriously in any version the name "Kurt" is rarely mentioned.

So here's some thoughts I have about that:

Kurt appreciates when people call him by name. He likes his nicknames of course, but he's spent his whole like getting called things like "demon" "freak" "blue boy", etc. When people actually take the time to call him by his real name, he notices and appreciates it.

In a similar vein, he takes the time to call others by their names. He doesn't like using his friend's superhero names unless they're actively in the field because he feels like using the hero names can become dehumanizing.

He's also really good at remembering names.

As much as he appreciates his real name being used, he associates certain nicknames with certain people to the point that those nicknames are almost more impactful than his name. For example when Logan calls him "elf" it's something specific to them, and thus means more to him.

Idk those were just some thoughts I had based off of observations
