Luke Skywalker is Mand’alor
Now that season 3 is done and I was able to stew over it, I find myself liking it more than the initial watch (not in love but I know it is that final scene that has made it loads better/worth it)...but I LOVE the idea more on Luke is the rightful ruler of Mandalore due to the ridiculous line of defeat of the Darksaber
Can you imagine?? We’ve had so much fun watching Din “my god let me just be a side character in my own show” Djarin do his thing...but Luke?? The guy who keeps getting pushed as the center of the galaxy? The poor guy. He already has to deal with being a “shared” Chosen One with his formerly very evil father, seen as a galactic hero who “single handedly” (he keeps saying this is not the case) took out the Empire, reviving a culture that was genocide-d basically on his own (his aunt seems to not be very involved in his life???), going on near-death missions still after doing his Chosen One duties...and now is a king by some weird technicality??
Do you know how DONE he would be???
Because he defeated his father, who defeated Kenobi, who defeated Maul? Or because he defeated his father who defeated the Emperor who defeated Maul? OR  because he defeated his father who defeated Ahsoka who defeated Maul?
Luke would try to say, “The Emperor defeated me!” or “I didn’t win against my father, technically!” or “Weren’t at least one of those previous matches a draw or something???” or “Surely with all the hands it’s been passed around to the line was officially broken?????”. And like all of them have a counter-argument that still leads back RIGHT TO HIM because, even IF Anakin defeated the Emperor who defeated Luke, he still ADMITS that Luke defeated him by saving him from the Darkside with like his dying breath!! Or, even better because it is the words from Din in the season, he defeated the enemy who defeated/captured/cornered Din & Bo-Katan on the cruiser--cause, within the scene, it is heavily implied they were all about to die (aka be defeated) if he hadn’t shown up!
There is like literally no escape from it!
He literally just wants to be a teacher, like a pre-school teacher at this point and do fun flips over rocks while doing things to make people happy and not kill any more.
And he is made to be a king of a “cursed” planet of a former enemy.
Because of COURSE a Skywalker would have that luck.

what do you make of samurai remnant so far? As it's a weeb game, I don't expect any of the normal review sites I trust to cover it
I /hate/ Musou combat and I'm sick of Servants, so me avidly talking about this game means it's way better than even my biases can overlook.
Here's the thing: the vast majority of Type-Moon games fucking suck, because they make visual novels, not video games. "The story's good enough to make you play through this abomination" is the battlecry of Fate/Extra fans. If it wasn't for Melty Blood they might not even have any games where people play for the actual game.
This is not the case with Fate/Samurai Remnant. It's not here to blow your mind out of the water, but it's clearly a title made by people who are both great fans of the source material and are very experienced with producing games on a budget. Solid execution all-around from combat design to character art to environments.
The most notable thing about FSR though is that this game cares a lot about how things are supposed to feel. I've talked enough about how great it is to have Servants feel like real powerhouses again, but this level of care exists within the rest of the game.
"How would it feel to be partners with a superpowered being?" is the defining question informing the majority of the game design. If there's a high place you can't climb without a ladder, Saber simply throws you up there with their superhuman strength. If you're squeezing through a tight alleyway, Saber simply reappears via magic on the other side, sometimes getting ahead of you and waving mockingly while Iori can only grumble and slowly pull his fleshy human body along a tight crevice. There is actual destruction in the aftermath of the first Servant battle that you can see for yourself, which informs Iori's motivation of putting an end to this death game. Iori's neighbors express relief that he's safe because they saw his house explode, or tell him about the whereabouts of his sister Kaya, making the town feel just a little bit more like a setting Iori actually lives in.
As Iori's relationship with Saber grows, the game also tacks on more and more mechanics involving their cooperation. At the very start, Saber cannot be controlled whatsoever and is entirely dependent on the AI. As you progress though, you unlock the ability to give Saber commands and even play as them for a short time. But that's not all, Saber's AI will also start to cooperate with you, following up on enemies that Iori knocks away with a finishing move, or calling for special partner moves called Link Strikes. When you're in trouble, there's even a chance Saber will come rescue you, activating a quick time event where they lock blades with the enemy, attempting to push them back.
This is what the whole game is like. Samurai Remnant doesn't have the resources of an AAA game with an army of developers to create features like ultra HD 4k textures for all environments or realistically shrinking testicles, but you can feel most ideas started with a question of "What would it be like to have Saber here and how do we depict that in some way?" Saber would be fascinated at modern (17th century) Japan, so they often run from place to place pointing out new things to gawk at and demanding explanations from Iori. They didn't have food stalls, paper, or money in their life, so Iori has side missions to buy from every food stall to satiate Saber's hunger, which murders your wallet in-game as you are a poor ronin living hand to mouth every day and need odd jobs to make money.
It feels good to play, and not even as a Type-Moon fan where a lot of these things are something I've been asking for. I mean it's good to see another mid budget game that's neatly focused on simple, solid execution. Most review sites are giving it around a 7.5-8/10, and I'm telling you this isn't a 7.5 from a Type-Moon fan pleading with you that playing Fate/Extella's Altera route makes it actually worth it, this is a 7.5 from people seeing a decently hefty, well-made title.

For BTHB "Halucinations" with Obi-wan on Zigoola?
Tumblr media
@coalmine301 you do delight my whump-loving heart. Sorry this took so long!
tw for mental breakdown, ptsd, graphic injury, self harm, and torture.
Zigoola was not a place.
At least, it was not only a place. Not anymore.
The power of the Force, honed and used and washed over a place over time, eventually causes great change.
The Jedi Temple was not merely a building, after all, but a beacon of peace and light for all who could feel it. Its bones ran deep with power, layers upon layers of light.
It was the way of the Light to be fortitude, to be patience, to be serenity, forgiveness, humility.
It was the way of the Dark to be recklessness, to be rage, to be thrill, to be destruction, consumption, emotion.
And Zigoola was Dark.
Dark indeed.
And when Obi-Wan Kenobi left that hellish planet, secure in the worried arms of Bail Organa and Padmé Amidala...
Zigoola followed him home.
: : : : :
Anakin and Ahsoka returned from their most recent campaign flushed with triumph and eager to share the bragging stories all the men did, with bravado and cheer to help cover for the losses met and the sacrifices made.
They returned when most of Obi-Wan’s external injuries had been washed away by bacta.
“Hey, Master,” Anakin greeted him, stretching luxuriously as he swaggered into their quarters. He always called him Master when he was worried about him. “Heard you got roughed up on a mission. What happened?”
His eyes were overly keen. He had seen that Obi-Wan is (is?) fine, and now he wanted to know why secrets were being kept.
How dare they send his Master alone on some secret mission?
How dare they allow him to be harmed because Anakin wasn’t there beside him?
“We met with some turbulence,” Obi-Wan said calmly, carefully turning in his chair in a way that showed Anakin his face while casting the still-pink burn on one side hidden by shadow, in a way that didn’t put pressure on his bad leg. (Worse leg.) “I’m all right. Bacta still smells as unpleasant as I recall.”
Anakin chuckled. He came to sit on a nearby chair, kicking his booted feet in the air.
“Anakin,” sighed Obi-Wan. He shifted again. Just a little. Just to keep his face out of direct light. “Please, sit properly?”
“This is properly,” his former apprentice teased. He flipped around so that his feet were off the back of the chair and his head was on the floor. “A chair is for getting off your feet and being comfy. I’m off my feet. I’m comfy. So this is totally proper.”
Obi-Wan muttered something that sounded suspiciously like “graceless ass.”
Anakin launched a cup coaster at him with the Force.
: : : : :
Obi-Wan woke suddenly in the dead of night.
It was pitch black in his room, but he could sense Anakin leaning over him as clearly as if he could see him.
“‘N’kin?” he mumbled.
Anakin shifted closer to the bed. “Yeah. Obi-Wan... what’s going on?”
“What?”
“You were screaming,” his friend said slowly. “In your sleep.”
Obi-Wan flushed, grateful that the darkness hid his face from view. “Oh. I’m sorry. You know how disturbed the Force is these days, especially here on Coruscant. I must have...”
“No,” Anakin cut across him. “It wasn’t like that. What aren’t you telling me?”
“It’s nothing, Anakin.”
“It’s not nothing.”
Obi-Wan sighed and shifted in his bed, tugging the sheets up higher, shielding himself from the chill of the room. “It is, Anakin. I’m sorry I disturbed you, but—”
“It’s not nothing,” said Anakin in a low voice. “If it was nothing you wouldn’t have lived. Why did you live?”
Obi-Wan’s heart stopped. “What?”
“Why did you live?” demanded Anakin’s voice. The dark presence beside him seemed to suddenly swell, filling the entire room, sucking out all the air. “Why didn’t you die, Jedi?”
“Anakin?” Obi-Wan said hoarsely, starting to sit upright.
Two hands caught him forcefully and shoved him back down, pinning him on his back. The bedsheets suddenly felt suffocating; his limbs were tangled in them hopelessly as he began to kick and struggle.
No matter how hard he thrashed, the hands held him firmly.
Obi-Wan opened his mouth - to question, to beg, to scream - something - but more hands came out of the blackness and closed around his throat, cutting off his voice before he could do more than let out choked cry.
The darkness remained, but somehow, Anakin’s snarling face came into view, illuminated in red as if by fire.
“You should have died on Zigoola,” he sneered. “Die, Jedi.”
And he snapped Obi-Wan’s neck.
: : : : :
Anakin meandered up the hallway, chasing a feeling.
It happened sometimes. The Force just prodded and poked with no clarity whatsoever.
He spotted a familiar figure at the end of the hallway, standing next to a large window overlooking the western horizon of Coruscant. Anakin knew long before he got close that it was Obi-Wan.
“Hey.”
The man didn’t move.
“Obi-Wan, Ahsoka wants to grab lunch at Dex’s before she sets out for her solo. You coming?”
He had his robe on, but it was wrapped tightly around him, and the hood was raised.
Anakin frowned and stepped closer. “Hey. Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan pulled his cloak even tighter around him. His head turned slightly. “Go ahead and say what you want to say,” his former Master muttered. “I won’t talk to you.”
Anakin looked as if he’d been slapped; the hand he had raised to touch the older man’s shoulder fell back to his side. “Fine,” he said curtly. “Whatever makes you happy I guess.”
He turned on his heel and stalked off, brimming with hurt and anger.
He was long gone before the Jedi by the window turned his head slowly to look where he had gone, a look of confusion on his face. “...Anakin?”
: : : : :
Night fell again.
Obi-Wan climbed slowly into bed, shaking like a leaf in a tempest. It took five tries - five - just to hoist himself onto his mattress and lay flat, his hands and feet trembling so badly that even his vision was vibrating.
His head began to pound.
Die, Jedi.
Die, Jedi.
Die, Jedi, Die, Jedi, Die, Jedi Die Jedi Die Jedi Die-Jedi-Die-Jedi-Die-Jedi
DIE JEDI DIE—
Bail’s hands covering his. A flash of red. A flash of blue.
Obi-Wan clamped a palm over his mouth to contain the shriek of agony that exploded out of him.
His head - his leg—
Die Jedi
Bail was screaming—
Qui-Gon was reaching for him, then toppling backwards with a beam of red through his chest, his face frozen in a look of shock—
Die Jedi
Obi-Wan slammed his head against the headboard, screaming again into his hand.
“Obi-Wan!”
Anakin was standing over him again, and Obi-Wan curled away from him, clutching his wounded leg with one hand and covering his mouth with the other.
Anakin towered over him, tall, washed in the light streaming from the common area of their quarters—
Wait.
Anakin dropped to his knees, his expression almost frightened. “Obi-Wan! Obi-Wan, snap out of it!”
The older Jedi shuddered where he lay, digging his fingernails into his leg for a purchase on reality.
“Master,” Anakin begged. “Please talk to me!”
Obi-Wan reached further down his leg and shoved his fingertips into the open wound made by his own saber - but - but his fingers dug only into shallow scarring and the dull throbbing of still-healing tissue.
Zigoola.
Bail.
That injury.
It had all been... weeks ago. Weeks and weeks.
His former student knelt next to him, one hand clinging to the bedclothes, clearly wanting to comfort his Master but wary of frightening him further.
“...Anakin?” Obi-Wan whispered around his hand. His voice was small and cracked, a child’s voice after a night terror. “A-Anakin?”
The younger man exhaled shakily, nodding. “Yeah. Yeah. It’s me, Master. Listen. Obi-Wan, you have to let go of your leg... and your face... you’re hurting yourself, all right? Just let go.”
Obi-Wan stared at him.
Anakin stared back, half-stern, half-begging.
After a moment, Obi-Wan obeyed.
He released his leg gingerly, and felt only the residual pain of his slow-healing stab wound and the sharp imprints of his own fingernails.
Then he removed his hand from over his mouth.
His howl of anguish when a red blade pierced Anakin from behind tore through the room, and died into terrified dry sobbing when Anakin fell dead to the floor, his young face painted with shock.
: : : : :
“Master Kenobi!”
Obi-Wan ignored it.
Whoever it was would get his attention more forcefully, real or otherwise. He had no choice but to accept it, but delaying, delaying he could do.
“Master Kenobi! Obi-Wan Kenobi, have you lost your hearing?”
A middle-aged Twi’lek with bold blue skin shouldered her way in front of him; her expression was fierce, but her eyes and the hand she pressed against his chest to stop him were exceedingly gentle. “Obi-Wan?” she repeated.
“Master Che,” he answered dully. “Can I help you?”
“I was about to ask you the same,” she returned, eyes narrowing with concern as she took in his wan visage. “Obi-Wan, your health is deteriorating. An apprentice Healer could tell that at a glance. Why didn’t you come to the Halls?”
“There’s no point,” he said. “It’s just lack of sleep. I’ll pull through.”
Her lekku twitched. “Lack of sleep, hm? That doesn’t explain the rapid weight loss, the new damage on your arms, or your eroding mental shielding...”
“I am fine, Vokara,” the youngest Councilor said sharply. “I won’t be forced into the Halls against my will. If something is really wrong, by all means, feel free to scrape me off the pavement.”
He walked away with his hands folded in his sleeves. His head was bowed.
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” the Healer murmured, and picked up her comm unit. “Skywalker. We need to have a conversation. Your Master’s last mission is classified on a need-to-know basis. And you need to know.”
: : : : :
Anakin entered their shared rooms cautiously this time.
The lights were off, save a few small illuminators scattered around the room, radiating soft warm light like candles. Obi-Wan’s robe was draped over the back of the chair, and his boots were set neatly on a mat against the wall, a contrast to Anakin’s, which could usually be found in odd places like on a chair or next to the refrigerator unit.
His former Master’s door was closed.
Hardly daring to breathe, Anakin gently pushed it open.
He blinked, letting his eyes adjust to the deep darkness, and felt his breath hitch.
The bed was empty.
The sheets were tangled and strewn halfway across the floor, as if the occupant had been dragged away or had left in a panic.
Anakin sprang forward, his heart in his throat, as he noticed two things.
A black scorch mark in the floor, where a saber had struck it.
And Obi-Wan’s lightsaber lying discarded in the corner.
“Obi-Wan!” Anakin yelled. “No... no—Obi-Wan!”
: : : : :
Obi-Wan ran.
His vision was flickering like an old holo, flashes of different things all layered together - was he running over damp grass with Qui-Gon - or the polished floors of the Jedi Temple - or the cracked stone of a Sith Temple with Bail - or a strange fiery planet with bursts of lava and Anakin just out of reach - or —
He didn’t know.
He kept running, constantly changing direction as he registered obstacles and turns at the last second.
There was a tree in front of him. He veered left and smacked into a stone wall carved with Sith Runes.
The graven words burned red and fire lanced out at him, biting into his clothing and taking hold, setting him aflame.
Obi-Wan gasped. He stumbled backwards, trying desperately to peel the burning clothing off of him, hearing maniacal laughter echoing from the black corridors all around him, hearing the screams of the dying, the dead.
Someone grabbed him by the arm and he wheeled around, the fire vanishing inexplicably as Cody, wearing bloodstained armor but without his helmet, stumbled into his arms, gasping for air.
Before Obi-Wan could speak, Cody spat out a mouthful of blood and fell to his knees. His hands dragged the Jedi down with him. But when they hit the floor, it was only Obi-Wan, on his hands and knees in some corridor of the Temple, shuddering and crying.
Die Jedi Die Jedi Die Jedi Die Jedi Die Jedi Die
Die Jedi
DIE JEDI
Die
Jedi Die Jedi
Die
DIE JEDI DIE
Die
J
E
D
I
die
The voices in his head rose and coalesced.
Now the voices of the Sith and the voices of his past and the voices of the future and the voices of the dead were all in agreement—
DIE, JEDI
Obi-Wan reached out desperately for the Light.
There was only Darkness.
Die, Jedi, Die, Jedi
Qui-Gon, running ahead of him chasing a Sith across catwalks. Obi-Wan, desperately racing after him.
Qui-Gon turning at the last second, his verdant lightsaber running Obi-Wan through. The man smiled. Relieved. Pleased. “Die,” he said.
Anakin, ten years old, tentatively asking to spend the night in the same sleeping mat on a mission. Obi-Wan, gently pulling his apprentice into his arms. Waking up hours later with small hands wrapped around his throat and cutting off his air. The innocent face grinned. “Die.”
Ahsoka, dangling out the side of a crashing Y-wing, crying out in pain as her injured shoulder strained. Obi-Wan, diving to catch her hand before she could fall, lifting her back into the ship. Hugging her. And then she kicked him, hard, sending him flying out the door and to his death. She smiled after him. “Die.”
Where was the light?
Where?
...There.
A faint blur of light. A glow.
The feel of fresh air, defying the horrifying visions.
Obi-Wan fixed his eyes on the light, and jumped.
“...NO!”
Someone stopped him. Caught him violently around the waist and dragged him back, pulling him back into the shadows.
Obi-Wan wept, utterly spent.
“Obi-Wan!” a voice raged at him. “What were you doing? What were you even doing?!”
The Jedi only continued to weep silently, letting the strong arms haul him further away. He felt himself lowered to the ground, felt arms come around him in an embrace that felt restrictive.
“Talk to me! Dammit, Master, I need you to focus. Please! Come on, open your eyes properly. Look at me. Look at me.”
The voice became gentler as it went on. Warm and soothing, like the small fires they pitched in encampments, when it was safe to do things like that.
A gentle Force presence brushed against his mind.
It blew through the claws and thorns of Darkness like a hot wind - painful at first, and then calming.
Comforting.
Bright.
Obi-Wan opened his eyes and found himself collapsed in Anakin’s arms, his friend looking down at him with a face twisted with fear and concern. They shifted a little into relief when he met Anakin’s blue eyes.
“...A-Ana...An’kin?” Obi-Wan asked, hardly daring to hope.
Anakin nodded fiercely. “Yeah. It’s me. Listen — we’re going to talk about this later. We’re going to fix this. I’m not going to leave you alone for a second, you hear me? We’ll stick together until this is over. But for now...”
He swallowed hard and looked up at the open balcony mere yards away, glowing innocently in the light of a Coruscant night, the only source of light in the long dark hallway.
“Let’s get you somewhere safe.”
Obi-Wan exhaled softly. “...All right.”
And then his eyes fluttered closed again, his head tilting to one side to rest against his Padawan’s shoulder. Anakin jolted slightly in alarm, but when he checked, he realized that his old Master was merely sleeping.
A proper sleep.
For the first time in Force knew how long.
Anakin sighed and stood up, carrying Obi-Wan in his arms. He was heavy, but still too light and too thin for Anakin’s liking.
The report from Master Che... Anakin bit the inside of his cheek hard to contain a curse, remembering the extensive list of injuries and repercussions the Healer had given him with her eyes full of uncharacteristic worry.
But it would be all right.
They’d handle it together.
They always had.
Always would.
Anakin paused at the end of the corridor and looked back. He held Obi-Wan a little tighter— remembering the moment he had come tearing up this same hall not five minutes before, just in time to see him - the man he had followed for twelve years, humorous and serene and kind and steady, his mentor, his best friend, almost his father, even closer to being a brother...
See him sobbing, stumbling blindly, preparing to leap over the edge of the balcony to his death.
Tormented and lured by the Dark Side.
Anakin forced himself to turn away once more and move his feet back home, holding the sleeping Obi-Wan with all his strength.

We have a jedi [7] | Peter Parker x M!Stark Reader
Fandom: Star wars and Marvel
Pairing: Peter Parker x Male!Reader, Tony Stark x Son!Reader
Summary: (M/N) receives a warning from a new ally.
Read from beginning
Tumblr media
(M/N) stood on the terrace overlooking the city. Night had overtaken the sky and even with all the destruction, the lights of the city shone bright. Many of the smoke plumes and fires had been put out and peace had somewhat returned to the city. It didn’t matter though. No matter how many fires you put out or walls you rebuild, the people wouldn’t forget about what happened here. That was the price of war. It always leaves scars.
During dinner, he and Janai talked with his father and the other avengers. They all introduced themselves and their stories. Each had an interesting past to say the least. In return he told them about himself and the war across the galaxy. They were surprised that not only did life exist outside their own planet,  but also that a galaxy wide war was going on. One which Tony’s son was a part of, even at a young age. The only one who wasn’t surprised seemed to be Thor, who hailed from Asgard so it was no surprise to him. The entire time (M/N) noticed how his father never stopped smiling while looking at him, it was nice.
He was staying in the tower in a guest room. His father was able to move their ship to a warehouse for it to be repaired, which is where Janai was staying. She said it was to give him space and to make sure no one messed with the ship. He had stepped outside to get some fresh air, it was difficult for him to sleep.
“Can’t sleep?” He didn’t have to turn around to know it was his dad.
“No. I don’t know why, I just couldn’t. I’m guessing you can’t either?”
“Yeah…” Tony stood next to him and looked out on the horizon with (M/N). “It doesn’t look like there was an alien invasion today. It looks the same as any other night.”
“Maybe. But the people are still scared. I can feel the unease...it’s strong.”
“Have you always been able to do that? You know...the feeling thing.”
(M/N) let out a chuckle. “Yes and no. It’s the force calling out. Every jedi can feel it, but some are stronger than others. Mother says I’m stronger in the force than any other jedi she’s seen.” He shrugs. “I don’t know if it’s true or not.”
“Huh, Isn’t that something?” The two stood in silence for a bit before Tony spoke again. “So apparently there was going to be a missile that was supposed to go off in the city.” (M/N) turned and looked at his dad in confusion. “Fury stopped it. Apparently the council, whoever they are thought we wouldn’t be able to stop them so they were going to bomb the city.” (M/N)’s face turned dark. “They would destroy an entire city and kill everyone for nothing? It’s not like it would have stopped anything. All it would have done was kill your own people.” His father placed a hand on his shoulder to steady him. “Hey, it’s okay bud. It was stopped. It didn’t happen.” (M/N) turned back to the city. “But it almost did. Apparently war is always the same no matter where you go.”
Tony’s grip on his shoulder tightened a bit before it loosened back up. “W-what’s it like, fighting in the war? You’re so young, you shouldn’t have to be a part of it.” (M/N) laid his hand on top of Tony’s and squeezed it a bit. “It’s not easy. I wish we didn’t have to fight. I’ve seen so much death and destruction. When I was running through the streets earlier during the fighting...it barely affected me anymore. I’ve become so used to it. I just want the fighting to stop, not for any side to win...but so the people will be safe. I’ve seen entire planets...reduced to ashes.” Tony patted his shoulder. “You know, you really are avengers material kid. You have a good heart. I’m proud of you.” The two of them turned around and began walking back inside. “Thanks...dad. Man, that’s still a little awkward.” Tony laughed. “Yeah. But I like it.”
Tony and (M/N) had bid each other good night before returning to their rooms. (M/N) still wasn’t tired enough to fall asleep, but he wasn’t sure what else to do. Moving over to the desk, he opened the drawer and pulled out the stone. He could feel the power it held just by holding it in his hand. He had never felt anything like it before. Sitting on the ground, he placed the stone in front of him and began to meditate. He could sense how the stone was lifted by the force. “You are strong in the light side, yet you are also strong in the dark.” Opening his eyes, (M/N) discovered he was no longer in the room in the tower. He seemed to be in space, he was in a ring made of white symbols he had never seen before.
He stood up and looked around. “Where am I?” Suddenly, a small flash of light appeared and when it disappeared a man was standing there. The man however seemed to be glowing, a ghost. “You are in a place outside of time and space. A world between worlds.” (M/N) looked around once more, that...honestly made some sort of sense. Looking back at the man, he couldn’t help but feel familiar. “Who are you.”
“My name is Revan and you are one of my descendants.” The man began circling him. “I was once a Jedi like yourself, but then I was turned to the dark side by the sith emperor. I was able to return to the light, but when I went back to face the emperor I was killed. But that is a story for another time.”  Revan stood in front of him. “I have come to warn you. The sith lord that you have fought. His name is Darth Kren. The artifact he stole today, the tesseract, holds an infinity stone. The space stone to be exact. With that stone he will be able to launch multiple campaigns on occupied worlds. There is no doubt he already prepares his forces. You must stop him before it is too late.”
“How?”
“You have a strong connection to the force, like I have. Focus your mind, with the mind stone you will be able to know where he plans to strike.”
Folding his arms he began to concentrate, Revan doing the same. He focused on his breathing and on the energy surrounding him. Soon he felt his mind begin to move and before he knew it he saw the view of a planet. “Kuat. I would know those rings anywhere. He plans to attack Kuat and stop the production of more ships for the republic.”
“Yes. But not yet. He still needs to gather his forces, but so should you. You must face him and retake the stone. But you must first prepare.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean you have faced him twice already, and each time you have barely held on. If you are to face him head on you must train harder. Your lightsaber alone isn’t enough. You should craft another. When you fought him with two sabers, you were equal. You will need that if you have any chance of stopping him.” Revan turned around and began walking back into open space. “Our time here is finishing. But we will talk again. Be mindful of your emotions, you will affect the fate of the galaxy whether it is on the light side...or the dark.”
Before (M/N) could ask him any more the man had disappeared. Blinking he once again found himself back in the room in the tower. The mind stone in front of him. “Huh.”
The next day, (M/N) exited the room to the smell of food. Walking towards where the smell was coming from he found his dad trying to make food. Trying the key word there. When Tony spotted him he smiled. “Morning (M/N), I was trying to make us food.” (M/N) smiled at him. “I can see that. Need any help?” His dad waved him off with a spatula. “No,no I got it. I wanted to make this for you. Go sit down.” (M/N) threw his hands up in mock surrender and sat down in a chair at the counter. “So what are your plans for today?” he asked his dad. Tony had finished making the food and sat the plate down in front of him. “Rebuilding. I have to rebuild the tower for the parts that were destroyed. Was thinking of making it into a building for the avengers.” (M/N) nodded at that, it was a smart idea. This world’s mightiest heroes needed a place for themselves. “What about you? You have anything planned for today? If not you can always spend stay with me, we can blow off rebuilding for now and go do something else.” (M/N) chuckled and shook his head. He remembered the events of the night before. “I have to talk with mom. Talk to her about that guy and what’s going to happen now.”
(M/N) noticed the way his father’s face faltered a bit. Any time there had been a mention of (M/N) or Janai leaving, Tony seemed to fall back a bit. If (M/N) was correct it was because he didn’t want to lose his son again. Honestly (M/N) didn’t want to leave his father either, but there was still a war going on and he needed to be out there to help people. “I-I know you’re happy I’m here and so am I. But I’ll have to go back out there.” His father only nodded before looking back at him with a smile. “Then let’s spend as much time together as we can before you do.” Tony’s phone went off and he checked it, his face turning into a frown. “Shit. There’s some government crap that needs my attention. I can have happy drive you to your mom.” (M/N) tilted his head in confusion. “Happy? Like the emotion?” Tony laughed at that before shaking his head. “No. He’s a friend and assistant of mine. He can drive you.”
Tony walked him down to a car. “Happy, you remember (M/N). (M/N) here needs you to take him to warehouse 11. Okay gotta run. I’ll see you later.” He hugged (M/N) before heading back up the tower. (M/N) turned back to the other man. “Hello.” The man looked at him with a confused look. “(M/N)? Like little baby, son of Tony (M/N)?” He nodded at the man. “That’s correct. Well minus the baby part now.” The man laughed. “You really are your father’s son. Climb in kid.”
Happy drove them to the warehouse. The drive was difficult with so many roads closed still thanks to the debris. It was mostly silent, neither really knowing what to say. “I don’t know if you remember me, but I used to watch you sometimes. You were really tiny then.” The man seemed really happy to be talking with him and reflecting on the memories. (M/N) wished he could remember that but he couldn’t. “Sorry, I can’t really remember anything about my time here.” The man didn’t seem defeated. He continued to focus on the road. “So where have you been kid? I know your mom took you, but where?” (M/N) smirked. “Let’s just say it’s a long story. We never really stay in one place.” Happy didn’t respond to that and only nodded.
Pulling up to the warehouse, the two discovered many workers entering the building. “Huh, these aren’t normal Stark workers.” (M/N) turned to the man. “What do you mean?” Happy nodded at a person. “See that logo there. That’s the logo for S.H.I.E.L.D. The organization the avengers are a part of.” That made a little bit more sense for (M/N). Of course shield would want to get their hands on their ship. Opening the door, he stepped out of the car and turned back to the man. “Thanks for the ride.” The man smiled. “Wait. Let me give you my number for your phone. You can call or text me if you need me.” (M/N) looked at him again. “What’s a phone?” Happy laughed at him. “Good one kid, what’s a phone. Here’s my number.” He handed him a card with his name and numbers on it. “Thanks Happy.”
Entering the warehouse he saw the ship he and Janai arrived in being worked on. “Hey kid! This is a closed site scram!” He turned and watched as a big muscular guy walked up to him. “I’m supposed to be here. I’m here to see my mother.” The man didn’t look convinced. “Yeah sure you are. Now get out of here before I throw you out.” (M/N) was starting to lose his patience. He wasn’t afraid of this man, and gave him plenty of warning. “I’m not going anywhere. I suggest you step aside.” The man let out a growl before roughly grabbing him by the shoulders. “That’s it. Time to go.” Big mistake. Lifting his foot, he stomped on the man’s foot slipping out of his grasp. Turning he slid under the man swiping his leg, causing him to fall. Bringing his fist up, he slammed it down onto the man's head, knocking him out. Standing up he got into another fighting stance. “Who’s next?” Other people in the warehouse began to charge at him before a voice called out. “Enough!” He spotted a man in a dark trench coat with an eye patch walk towards him. He looked...eerily similar to Master Windu. Had he and his mother been found out? The man stopped in front of him, he looked at the knocked out man before looking at (M/N). “Impressive. You barely broke a sweat.” “He didn’t give me much choice.” The man nodded. “I’m director Fury. You must be (M/N) Stark.” (M/N) nodded, he remembered his father and the other avengers talk about him. “So you’re the one that stopped the bomb?” The man nodded. “I think we have a lot to talk about.”

[Part 1] [Part 2]
[now all on AO3!]
As Nie Huaisang pulls his horse to a halt, as he clumsily dismounts and begs his san-ge to speak with him in private and they walk off to the side of the road together, Nie Huaisang’s eyes down and his fan covering most his face in embarrassment, he thinks very quickly, and decides faster. He’d promised himself he would do that, next time something like this happened
Here is some of what he thinks:
if the lifeblood of Qishan was power and the heart of Qinghe is strength, then the vital spark of Lanling is appearance. Nie Huaisang has always admired this, even yearned for it - imagine being born to a sect in which it was okay to just sit around and look pretty! Sure, they go a bit overboard with gilt, but who wouldn’t, if they had the money? QingheNie has a fortress in the mountains; LanlingJin has a golden tower overlooking one of the biggest ports in the empire, trade and art and culture all within reach
Conversely, they also thrive on secrets - the dark side of golden, glittering appearance. They’re not so different from QishanWen like that, because information is power. That’s why gossip is a thing
Nie Huaisang has no particular reason to distrust Jin Guangyao, personally. He’s always been very kind to Nie Huaisang, bringing him lovely new fans and paints and a beautiful finch one time. Da-ge doesn’t trust him, for reason of some things JGY did in the war, but da-ge has such high standards for conduct that it’s a miracle he trusts anyone after the Sunshot Campaign. (And it’d help if he told NHS anything about those alleged untrustworthy “things”...) Wen Qing doesn’t trust him, but in fairness, it was her side that he betrayed. That could sour anyone. Even putting aside the possibility that she’s deliberately sowing discord for some devilish Wen reason.
Admittedly, anything that Nie Huaisang says to him will almost certainly get back to Jin Guangshan, unless it’s of a truly personal nature - and perhaps even then. Secrets and gossip and power, after all, and it doesn’t take a genius to see that Jin Guangyao is desperate to please his father
even if the old bastard doesn’t deserve it an inch
So the question is, what is Nie Huaisang comfortable having known, and to whom? What does he want to appear as, to whom? And what is he willing to risk coming to light?
He thinks very fast, and soon as they’re well-out of earshot of his disciple-assistants and newly acquired Wen grandmother, he flings himself into Jin Guangyao’s arms, wailing.
(it’s a little difficult, because Jin Guangyao is one of the few men Nie Huaisang knows who’s shorter than he is.)
“San-ge, it’s not my fault! It’s all gone wrong! I just wanted to get out of saber practice, but then Wen Qing told da-ge something completely different, and then she made be get a baby, and - ”
The whole story comes out, in stops and starts mixed with helpless, hapless sobs. Nie Huaisang downplays Wen Qing’s successes with his brother, or at least mostly ignores them. He mentions A-Yuan’s nightmares only so far as they inconvenience himself, doesn’t comment on the Wens’ state of life at all, and generally exaggerates every terrible and bewildering situation he’s found himself in since he first happened to glance at Jiang Yanli at Phoenix Mountain
He figures Jin Guangyao probably sees through at least 20% of it, but that’s okay - that’s only deep enough to pierce the outer layer of overdramatics, which are mostly embellishments of the truth anyway, and maybe judge that Nie Huaisang has a soft heart for a cute kid
it’s a very cute kid, okay. NHS saw Nie Mingjue sneaking A-Yuan a piece of candy once. No one is safe
he doesn’t tell Jin Guangyao that
Nearly an hour later, Jin Guangyao peels Nie Huaisang gently off of his (now quite tear-damp) shoulder and smiles at him. It’s gentle, sympathetic, and the only thing it seems to be hiding is a laugh
Nie Huaisang is 99% sure of this assessment. Fortunately, he’s free to let his relief show, along with some healthy trepidation
“I won’t tell da-ge,” Jin Guangyao says, and there’s barely any humor to be seen dancing in his eyes. It’s really impressive, now that Nie Huaisang is learning what to look for.
“Really?” Nie Huaisang sniffles. “I just- He tries so hard, you know. I don’t want to disappoint him, not really.”
it really is all about using the truth. if it wasn’t so stressful, it’d be an incredible high
“Of course not.” Jin Guangyao squeezes him gently by the shoulders. “What is a san-ge for, if not to look out for his littlest brother?”
Nie Huaisang could definitely make a crack about his height smiles shakily and flings his arms around JGY’s shoulders again. “Oh, thank you! Thank you for your help!”
Jin Guangyao hugs him back gently and efficiently, then starts to tug him back to the waiting horses and by-now-dismounted companions. “Go on, get your A-Yuan’s granny back to Nie Sect and get yourself a good night’s sleep. I’ll make sure they’re both marked correctly as requisitioned for labor in Qinghe”
Nie Huaisang thanks him several more times, wiping away his tears like someone who just remembered that he’s not supposed to appear so weak in public. Jin Guangyao waves goodbye as he mounts his sword and flies away, and Nie Huaisang waves back, and then he and his assistants and his newly acquired A-Yuan’s Granny ride home
[they’re never going to be relevant again but I want you all to know that in my mind, these two dumb bastards are brothers with rhyming names, like, Xi Ping and Xi Ying or something. RIP Xi Ping and Xi Ying and their eardrums after NMJ reams them out for helping NHS do something stupid again]
And then...
they actually have peace for several months.
Oh, the cold war between Jing and Jiang - or more accurately, between Jin and Wei Wuxian - is still brewing like fine tea, and Nie Huaisang finds himself paying more attention than usual to the gossip about it, because Wens come up as often as not. They're the prime example of the destructive power of the Stygian Tiger Seal, after all. And NHS has four of them living in his house, now
the gossip spikes deliciously when Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan get engaged, though it somehow neither eases nor increases the tension in either side
{the timeline is rubbish anyway, so it’s whatever’s convenient for this fic, thank you very much}
Nie Sect’s physicians are too proud to let Wen Qing take over their infirmary wholesale, but they don’t hesitate to consult with her on pretty much everything. Wen Ning turns out to be pretty fun to play checkers with, whether he lets Nie Huaisang win or gets invested enough to actually put up a good fight. Despite Granny’s addition to the orphan-caring staff, A-Yuan still slips away most days and follows Nie Huaisang around like a particularly persistent curse-construct. On the plus side, he’s learning how to be patient enough that the bolder birds will sit on him as readily as on Nie Huaisang himself, and he painted an entirely acceptable butterfly the other day.
Oh, and the veins in Nie Mingjue’s neck are only visible when he shouts, now, and enough time has passed that he’s forgotten about Nie Huaisang’s earlier, rash promise to practice saber for an extra half hour each day. Or maybe he’s just resigned to the fact that such promises never last. This is truly the best timeline!
And then the worst happens, out of the blue yet in retrospect inevitable: Nie Mingjue has a severe qi deviation
He’s coming back from a meeting in Lanling, which wasn’t so much a discussion conference as Jin Guangshan calling a handful of sect leaders together to bitch about the Wei Wuxian and the Tiger Seal again. Wen Qing is in the infirmary, setting a young disciple’s broken leg. Nie Huaisang is in his bedroom, trying to write an ode to snowflakes that, read aloud, is a single tone off from a recitation of curse words for the entire poem. They both hear the shouting from the main courtyard
Wen Qing has a doctor’s reflexes; she leaves the leg to an assistant and arrives in the courtyard in time to watch Nie Mingjue collapse out of the air. The disciples who accompanied him to Lanling are there to catch him, ease him down gently, but Baxia clatters to the ground
Nie Huaisang sees it from his window. By the time he gets there, his brother is laid out flat and Wen Qing and the Chief Physician are snapping clipped phrases at each other as they assess his status, in the mode of emergency responders everywhere
the Chief Physician doesn’t like Wen Qing, doesn’t like Wens, but he can respect her medical talents. Both sentiments are mutual - Wen Qing has a much more comprehensive skillset, but if there’s anything Nie healers know, it’s how to handle qi deviation
qi deviations are difficult and dangerous to treat - the spiritual energy starts cascading through a cultivator’s body, untamed and harmful, and adding soothing energy may help but it may make it worse, or even cause the chaos to spread to the would-be healer
{I actually have no idea how any of this works, and will henceforth be making up my own worldbuilding}
Nie Mingjue’s eyes have rolled back in his head, bleeding, and he shakes like a leaf in the wind, incongruous to the warrior who led attacks on the Nightless City itself. Who held his brother like a guarding stone wall at their father’s funeral. Nie Huaisang cannot breathe
they get him stabilized enough to move up to the infirmary. Someone eases up their grip on Nie Huaisang’s body so he could follow (he won’t remember until later that he was being held back)
It takes four hours to stabilize him fully (unlucky). His golden core tries to collapse three times, his heart stops twice, and his fucking saber tries to attack them once, seemingly of its own initiative. Several other healers join in as needed, even Wen Ning - he’s always been good at getting seizing patients to still. Wen Qing rates it below the 39-hour golden core transfer with Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng, in terms of worst surgeries of her life, but above nearly everything else, including the emergency liver transfer where the girl turned out to have all her organs on the opposite side and a side order of demon-induced pneumonia
Nie Huaisang has been sitting in the corridor outside, on the floor. Someone's put a cloak on him. He looks up when they exit, forgetting how to breath again.
“He’s unconscious,” says the Chief Physician, who is probably some sort of distant uncle/cousin. “But he should wake. He will wake,” he corrects.
Wen Qing takes a deep breath. “We need to talk somewhere private.”
By the time Nie Huaisang has at least gotten to see his brother, get proof that he’s still breathing, the First Disciple has joined them as well (I mean, that position is sure as hell not held by NHS). Her name is Han Xiaoshi and she’s built in the same mold as the sect leader: tall, broad, wields her saber like a third hand. She leans against the closed door of the Chief Physician’s office while the Chief Physician - let’s say Nie Fengji - gives a slightly less brief explanation of the sect leader’s current state.
(it’s not good. he’s in a semi-medically induced coma. he is bleeding neither blood nor spiritual energy. he...should wake, in his own time, if they continue to carefully feed his healing energy)
(if he wakes within three days, he will be fine. for now)
Nie Huaisang’s blood pounds hot and panicked in his ears; an unthinking fan covers his face.
they all turn to Wen Qing, who wanted privacy.
Wen Qing soothes hands over her skirt, still blood-flecked, and lifts her chin calmly. Addresses the First Disciple more than anyone. “Before I begin, would you please put a guard each on my bedroom and the apothecary, and my brother’s room as well?”
“What? Why?” asks Nie Huaisang, bewildered. Han Xiaoshi echoes more sternly
She smiles thinly. “I’d rather not be accused of trying to assassinate Chifeng-zun.”
Nie Huaisang’s blood turns cold
“Keep talking,” says Han Xiaoshi
Here’s what Wen Qing explains: there’s an herb grown on the same volcanic slopes into which the Nightless City is set, a grass that absorbs so much yin energy from the volcano that it carries it over into anyone who consumes the stalks, offsetting the natural balance of their spiritual energy. A closely guarded inner clan secret. It can allow for rare, advanced cultivation techniques (including demonic ones)...or it can spark a fatal qi deviation the next time the user tries to do anything spiritually strenuous. Like flying from Carp Tower to the Unclean Realm
“It’s almost impossible to detect in the blood,” she finishes. “But I recognize the pattern of its effects.” Her hands are clasped loosely in front of her. “I wouldn’t be surprised to find some planted in a place that draws suspicion to A-Ning or myself.”
“Who else would know about it?” Nie Huaisang demands, trembling even as the ice is settles into his veins
“Someone who was close to Wen Ruohan,” she says calmly
they all know who she means
(oh, how she wants to tremble, too, too aware of every sword in the room that could be turned against her. Aware of A-Yuan and Granny and Wen Ning, her brother in the corridor just outside, and how it still hasn’t been a year since Wen blood ran in the flagstones of this castle. But Wen Qing has never been one to shake)
“There’s something else I should say,” she admits, to Nie Huaisang more than anyone. “I don’t actually know much about qi deviation - I’ve had a crash course, obviously, and I’m not a fool, but I’m mostly been treating it as a blood pressure problem - ”
“Obviously,” the Chief Physician scoffs
“ - but my Uncle Six is a true expert. Wen Zhichen - he was friends with your aunt, Huaisang-gongzi; your older sister, Fengji-shifu [the previous Chief Physician, killed in battle in the fifth month of the Sunshot Campaign]. If anyone can wake Nie-zongzhi, it’s him - ”
she could have said this earlier, could have said it weeks ago, or even from the start - but she had Wen Ning to think of before anyone else, and then A-Yuan who was too young to have accumulated crimes even as a Wen...
Wen Qing had once noted that the second son of Nie had likely never felt fear, true fear, in his life. That’s not true anymore. His brother is unconscious in the next room over and it’s not sure if he’ll ever wake. And it’s consequences catching up with him again, for real this time, this maybe-first time - was it the Wens, villainous duplicitous Wens that he brought into their home himself? Was it someone else, equally traitorous, suspicion roused to a killing intent by something Huaisang did himself?
People do a lot things when they’re feel fear deep down to their souls. They scrape and bow; they make bargains they shouldn’t, accept costs they can’t. They bend or they break
Nie Huaisang is a fop by preference, but it turns out that he breaks like a Nie
He shoves Wen Qing against the wall, hand on her throat. “Tell me this isn’t a trick. Tell me this isn’t some fucking ploy to get more Wen-dogs into my home, so you can finish killing my brother.” He shakes her, drops the fan to put his hand on the saber he's terrible with (it still hums eagerly for blood.) “Tell me.”
“I am,” she gasps
There is a tableau. Then Nie Huaisang drops her and strides for the door. “Shijie, put guards on her rooms, her brother’s, and Granny’s,” he snaps to Han Xiaoshi. “Don’t let anyone enter. Gather the Wens all in the third guest bedroom and keep them there - make sure A-Yuan has some paints to keep him quiet. And I’ll need your two fastest - no, those with the best strength and endurance in flight - ”
“Nephew - ” says the Chief Physician, and “Young Master,” says the First Disciple, a little impressed and a medium dubious
the closest Nie Huaisang has ever gotten to this commanding before was the early days of the Sunshot Campaign when there were no battle lines to hide behind yet, when he sometimes followed Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji as they tore across the country and directed the clean-up of their wake
“The best strength and endurance,” he repeats over them. The fan stays on the floor. “We’re flying to Qishan - we’ll be back with an extra expert for you in a couple days, Uncle. In the meantime, you can have Wen Qing if you need her, but otherwise they all stay in the third guest room.”
It takes a full day to fly to the Wen settlement in Qishan, at Nie Huaisang’s best pace. Starting already late in the afternoon, full of anger and terrified panic in equal measure, it’s beyond late by the time they near - and all but the anger has simmered away. Nie Huaisang lets them settle near the nearest halfway decent city instead, forces himself to lay on the ground and try to sleep, and sends one of his disciples out to buy the nicest fan they can find. He left so fast, he forgot to pick one up again
When they land in the filthy little town just after dawn, he stumbles off his sword more than lands (he is genuinely tired, at least) and runs to hammer on the door of the supervisory office, all terror and panic. “Jin-guniang! Jin-guniang! Help, help! It’s me, Nie Huaisang! I need - ”
“What?!” The captain yanks the door open (she sleeps above the office) and he very much does fall into her arms
“Ah, you have to help me!” He’s disheveled with flight and weepy with tears. “Wen Qing poisoned my brother and now he won’t wake up, so I have to find her sixth uncle - ”
“What - Nie Huaisang, what? Is she threatening - that Wen-bitch - ”
“No, no, we beat up her brother until she said - please! He’s the best at qi deviation, even Uncle Physician admitted it - ”
make sure to have Wen Ning beaten up just enough to look good, he notes in a small, back corner of his mind. in case there are spies in the castle. I’d have spies, if I could
“Okay, okay!” Jin Qixian ushers him into the office, half-holding him up. “Let me check the list of residences - sit down, Huaisang-gongxi, someone will brew tea...”
[five minutes later...]
“A different camp?” Nie Huaisang cries, fluttering his new fan in dismay
“They needed a healer...” Jin Qixian says apologetically. “But you just wait here, I’ll send someone - ”
“No, no,” Nie Huaisang gets to his feet, shaking his head. Happy to let the exhaustion of a 10-hour flight and 4 hours fitful sleep in the woods show, and the desperate helplessness that’s really not hard to fake. “I have to- Da-ge is counting on me - ”
He waves off all her attempted reassurances, bullheaded with anxiety, and accepts an officially sealed note of authority with babbling gratitude, and...
[about an hour and a half later...]
the other town the remnants of the Wen sect and soldiers have been relegated to is more of a city, really - cramped and filthy, where the other one was merely destitute and filthy. Families living all in one room or worse, and it’s okay because they’re only home to sleep; the fields are already filled with everyone old enough to work. They probably do need healers, because there’s not enough attention being paid to waste management. But -
“What do you mean, he’s gone?” Nie Huaisang demands more sharply than he’d intended
Focus, A-Sang. It’s Nie Mingjue’s voice in his head, always, as though this was just another hated saber practice
“I’m sorry, Young Master Nie,” says the disciple in charge of this place - Jin Guangchao, another stray cousin. does everyone in that family spread seed like a watering can? “There was an incident a few days ago - ”
“He’s dead?” Nie Huaisang wails, sinking to ground
“No!” Jin Guangchao looks a little disgusted at his helplessness, but bends down to pull him up anyway. “Jin Zixun came around on an inspection and that one you wanted, he was impudent. Jin Zixun ordered him sent to the work camp at Qiongqi Pass.”
mother of fucking fucker [meaning Jin Zixun; meaning the whole situation]. the man probably made eye contact and that overbearing asshole -
“That’s so far away!” Nie Huaisang whined, staying limp, crying into his fan
“Nie-shixiong, it is on the way - ” one of his disciples offers uncertainly (poor bastards - he’s really yanking them around. They’re not sure if they’re helping a con or offering real support)
“We’ll get him back to Chifeng-zun, and get Chifeng-zun back on his feet,” says the other, slipping her arm under his and pulling him to his own feet. “Come on, you’ll see”
(whether it’s for the con or not, Nie Huaisang appreciates it. They’ve never been this genuinely nice to him before)
there’s a conversation in the air halfway to Qiongqi Pass. It goes like this:
“Nie-shixiong, we have to rest. You have to rest.”
[gritted teeth] “I’m fine.”
“You’re going to fall off your sword.” (Liu Lifang, the older woman)
“Then you’ll carry me, won’t you? We’ll already have Wen Zhichen - we’ll double up.”
“Your, uh, dramatics - ” (Zhao Huandi, younger, male - there aren’t a lot of Nies, in Nie. There’s a lot of guest cultivators. There’s a lot of turnover.)
“Will be just as good, if not better, when I’m fainting from spiritual exhaustion.” [slightly bitter, mostly factual] “Don’t worry, I won’t deviate - I don’t use my saber enough for that.” [definitely exhausted] “We don’t stop.”
The work camp at Qiongqi Pass has all the bully-filled charm of Jin Qixian’s town and all the overworked labor je-ne-sais-quoi of the other one, and it’s started raining so there’s a really nice note of despair. If Nie Huaisang had any room left in his brain, he would mourn the beauty of the frescos being destroyed, grand and glorious works of art even if their glory was that of the Wens
he slides off Liu Lifang’s sword in the middle of the densest group of workers, cups his hands around his mouth and shouts, “Hey! Wen Qing’s Sixth Uncle, Wen Zhichen of DafanWen! Nie Sect requisitions you!”
the prisoner-workers all shrink away; an inspector hurries over. “Hey, who are you - ”
“You will respect Second Master Nie Huaisang,” snaps Zhao Huandi, hand on his saber while Nie Huaisang starts to cry on cue for the third time that day, and god, either they’re really getting it or he’s just blessed with a sect full of perfect straight men.
“Please,” Nie Huaisang begs, leaning on his disciple and waving the letter from Jin Qixian. “I need a healer - that healer, it’s my brother, he’s been poisoned - ”
they’re real tears of exhaustion. maybe he should have let them talk him into a rest
(Da-ge will be fine, he knows, he insists to himself and the world. He was stable 24 hours ago and Nie Huaisang left him with the most competent people he knows)
the inspector has no idea what to do with him and neither does the Chief Inspector, really, when he rides up. That’s perfect - it means their half-hearted objections are easy to push past
they’re still shit at actually helping, because they don’t know a single person in this goddamned work-prison, and all the Wens just shy away, or pick up a pickaxe and try to keep working if anyone comes too near. The inspectors seem to regard this as ideal
Nie Huaisang honestly doesn’t care right now, but he does notice
Finally Nie Huaisang has wailed loudly enough up and down the valley that one prisoner hesitantly steps forward and admits to being the Dafan Wens’ Sixth Uncle. He has Wen Ning’s ears and Granny’s eyes and the same needle callouses as Wen Qing, so Nie Huaisang calls it a day
except they still have to fly back to the Unclean Realm, a flight of six hours unburdened
Nie Huaisang’s groan is entirely genuine
Wen Qing has taken to pacing by the time the Chief Physician comes to fetch her, personally, from the third guest bedroom. Night has come and gone and come again; A-Yuan and Granny are both asleep in the bed and Wen Ning is lying beside them, though she can tell he’s only pretending to sleep to make her feel better. What a good boy.
Sixth Uncle is sitting by Nie Mingjue’s bed in the infirmary, eating soup. There’s a couple Nie disciples in the room as well, one sending a slight stream of energy into Nie Mingjue and one simply watching the Wen, a hand on his saber hilt
(no one’s told her if they’ve searched her or anyone else’s rooms, yet; if they found anything)
“Keep sitting and eating!” snaps Nie Fengji, the Chief Physician, before Sixth Uncle can leap up at the sight of Wen Qing. “I need you talking qi balance, not falling over again.” He mutters under his breath, “People can’t even work if you let them get so weak - can’t trust a Jin to do anything with care.”
She sinks to her knees to hug her uncle instead - and notices a cot that’s been brought in to sit beside Nie Mingjue’s, its occupant also as still and wan as the grave.
“Huaisang!” She springs to her feet. “He didn’t - ”
“Exhaustion. The boy overworked his golden core and passed out.” Nie Fengji pushes her back with a roll of his eyes. “Bullheaded as their father, the both of them.”
He rolls up his sleeves and nudges the attending physician out of the way, to take over easing calming energy into Nie Mingjue without a single quiver in the stream. “Now, you two prove to me why I should trust any sort of Wen.”
To be continued...but Part 4 really will be the last, so, that’s p good actually. By my standards of mis-estimation of how long a piece of writing will be. And it’ll definitely be a short one! Unlike this Part 3, which is...*checks* 4.5k WTF.

Context for “Saber”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Knights of the Old Republic II is a cult classic from 04′ and generally not user friendly to people used to modern game mechanics, I figured I’d do a companion post to give context to a previous fic (here) that I wrote. The content of these games are considered Legends material, but there are some bits that are drawn into official Star Wars canon (e.g. Malachor V existed, and a super weapon was present on it and used thousands of years prior to the events of Star Wars Rebels).
Photo 1: This is the garage on the Ebon Hawk where “Saber” took place. On the left is your Zabrak crewmate named Bao-Durr, and on the right is the Jedi Exile (mine was named Mara Kronn). Mara turned to bounty hunting and other criminal activities to survive following their exile from the Jedi Order. When the events of KOTOR II started, their connection to the force was re-established through combat and powers associated with the dark side (e.g. lightning, choke, fear), further facilitated by their unique force bond to Kreia, and ultimately corrupted their appearance. Their affinity to the dark side wasn’t intentional at first, but has now become part-and-parcel to their everyday life and how they handle situations they find themselves in, further strengthening their connection to the destructive side of the Force.
Photo 2: Who is Bao-Durr and the Exile? Bao-Durr served under the Exile when they were still considered a Jedi during a war with the Mandalorians several years prior to the events of KOTOR II.
**Spoiler warning**
The Exile gave the command to Bao-Durr to activate a super-weapon and destroy the planet named Malachor V, giving the Republic a decisive victory against the Mandalorians. The use of this weapon killed millions of Mandalorians and countless Jedi in an instant. Following the destruction of Malachor V, the Jedi that went to fight the war broke off from the rest of the Order under the command of the now Sith Lord, Darth Revan. However, immediately following the destruction of Malachor V, the Exile was cut off from the force in order to preserve themselves from the sudden Wound in the Force they created from the extinction of life on such a grand scale (I think of the Wound as a vacuum that draws in the life force from anything that the Force runs through near it; like oxygen in space). Because of this, they did not join either side, and fled from both the Sith and the Jedi Order. The Exile and Bao-Durr were reunited several years later on a planet named Telos that was being restored after it had been laid waste to by the Sith fleet years prior. Like the Exile, Bao-Durr could not settle down following the conclusion of the Mandalorian War, and instead tried to put his efforts towards rebuilding planets, namely through planetary shield technology. Pictured is the Exile and Bao-Durr overlooking a zone of Telos shielded off from a portion that is currently being terraformed.
Photo 3: What is the Ebon Hawk? The Ebon Hawk is a starship that comes under the possession of the Exile during the prologue of KOTOR II. Think of it as the Millenium Falcon of the two Knights games. This was the ship that Darth Revan stole to escape the siege of Taris in the early events of KOTOR I.
Photo 4: What planet did “Saber” take place on? Dantooine, former home of a Jedi Conclave that was destroyed after Revan took the title of Sith Lord (the screenshot is the ruined conclave). Fun fact, Dantooine was the name of the planet that Leia gave Vader in Episode IV to throw him off the trail of the Rebel homebase. Grand Moff Tarkin called Leia’s bluff and destroyed Alderaan in retaliation. Tarkin can eat sh*t.

Dinner Date (Gilgamesh, Hakuno)
No.
No!
Staring over at the woman standing in the doorway, dressed up and waiting… with the colors she had told him she was going to wear… Gilgamesh could feel his stomach twisting.
Blind date his ass.
There was no way in all of hell and earth that he was going to be going to dinner at this establishment with Medb.
Oh, he was familiar with the woman. She was as bad as that damn weather girl, Ishtar, in his own workplace. The woman would sleep with anyone, flaunt her escapades like some kind of grand flag, and then hunt for more men and women to sleep with.
He couldn’t possibly-
“I’m here to meet someone. Tall, handsome, expensive.” The woman laughed a little. “What an idiot. I suppose as long as he’s handsome enough.”
Yeah, he wasn’t going for-
His eyes went to the woman sitting nearby.
Her deep blue dress was cut more ambitiously than most in this establishment. The white scarf around her arms only made the pearls around her neck more noticeable.
No rings.
The bored, out of it look said she’d been waiting a while.
Wait…
Perhaps, this was his date.
True, both her and Medb were wearing a fur around themselves. They were both wearing something daring.
Plain or slutty…
It really wasn’t a competition at all.
“I am not that late, am I?”
The woman looked up at him, pausing. Brows raised, she frowned.
“I’ve already gotten a table here for this evening. If you are at a stopping point, we should no doubt not keep the host waiting.”
He laid the manners on thick, pressing his lips to the back of her gloved hand.
“I ah…”
He was pulling her to her feet, pulling the pocket square from his jacket and placing it where she had been in her book.
“I am glad that I didn’t stop for flowers now.”
She was stumbling a bit, holding her skirts as he carted her to the host and motioned him on.
“No offense,” the woman whispered, “but I think you have the wrong woman.”
“Daring dress, fluffy accessory, smokey eyed makeup?”
The woman shook her head. “I’m here to eat alone. I had actually planned to wait for a table.”
“Of course you were.”
Waiting at the most popular five star restaurant in town for a table? It was almost funny how sad that sounded.
“I know the chef,” she told him.
What nonsense.
He didn’t give her the chance to bow out quietly, setting her in her chair and pushing her seat in. He poured her a glass of the wine he had preordered and let a rush of relief run through him as the woman they’d left behind at the front area was now out of view.
The woman before him now, looking much more stunning in the candlelight between them, picked up her glass and sipped lightly.
Her gloved hands went to her lips, “It’s a bit strong.”
He’d intended to get drunk and leave if necessary.
“I’ll ask for a bottle of rose,” he told her.
“That would be great.” She set her glass down and looked at their private corner of the place, her eyes going to the windows overlooking the city. “…It’s a beautiful view.”
“It is.”
She was looking far more suitable for his evening the more he looked at her.
Daring was suitable for her.
The host came and went with their wine and meal requests, leaving them to wait in silence together.
“…So…” She finally spoke up, drawing his attention from the room around them. “You’re here for a blind date then?”
“We both are.”
She smiled a bit, shaking her head. “…You must do well for yourself, coming here.”
“We’re both here.” He closed his eyes, laughing a bit. “Your outfit is nothing to mock like half the mongrels here.”
He opened his eyes to see her smiling a bit, sipping at the strong wine again as she avoided his gaze.
“What?”
“I um… I created this outfit.”
“You sew?”
“Design. I don’t do too bad either. Your outfit is from the Casual Business line, isn’t it?” She glanced over at him, earning a nod.
“It is. My company has been attempting to do more with Kishinami Designs. Contracts with them have proven to be as elusive as the young woman running their entire company.”
“Are you a competitor then?”
“I’m rule over media entertainment.” He told her. “I run half the networks on your television at this point. I do well too, but my cohort has been wanting to dabble in the fashion area and the design company has been silent with me.”
“Perhaps the designer does not want to be played with and set aside when finished.”
The wine and the food they’d ordered was here.
They began to eat as a means to avoid the argument he could feel brewing.
“Tell me about your thoughts for this outfit of yours.”
“Did it draw your attention?”
He nodded.
“That was the point of it.” The woman continued to eat, smiling a little. “I know that my looks are rather plain and a lot of people’s are. I decided I wanted something that would draw the eye and distract from that fact.”
“You are plain.”
She threw him a look and resumed. “I figured it would be nice to treat myself tonight to dinner and maybe say hello to an old friend before I have to prepare for more work.”
“Do you design normally?”
She nodded.
Interesting. He would need to introduce her to Enkidu then. Although Enkidu’s ideas were a bit… out there, perhaps an expert could reel the being’s interests in.
If nothing else, he could enjoy making an offer to help this woman’s company in reward for her dining with him and throw Kishinami’s silence back into her pretty little face.
They continued eating, with him beginning a good vent session about his pesky weather girl and his aggravating homicide reporter that eluded him at every turn.
Saber was a damn pain.
“It sounds like you like her.”
That seemed to amuse her for some reason.
“I enjoy her like a man enjoys watching a moth fly towards a flame. It’s not so much her, it’s being able to see the rise and fall.”
“Rude.”
“You don’t wish ill on other companies and people?”
“I didn’t say that.” The woman hesitated, “Moon Cell’Signs has been a royal pain in my ass since day one.”
Ah, the gaudy, overly neon designing team. He’d seen the gloves from last season, so big that the poor model couldn’t hold anything.
“If they suffered, I probably would order a pizza to celebrate.”
He had to laugh at that.
They were no different.
“To the destruction of Moon Cell’Signs and to the end of my reporter’s career,” he proposed, holding up his glass.
The woman before him smiled a bit, clinking her glass with his.
She was amusing him again, listening to him and making light of the frustrations. He could see the swell of her chest a bit more as the night dragged on, the food on their plates vanishing and the check soon being set down between them.
He paid, because that was what one did with a woman that entertained him.
“I should say hello to my friend and head home.”
“Would you like a ride?”
She smiled, shaking her head. “Call a ride, Gilgamesh. We’ve had enough wine between the two of us to make the debate on making out in the lady’s restroom a tempting idea.”
Oh?
The slit in her dress made that idea bloom forth with nice mental images of stroking that thigh.
“It’s been fun.” She leaned in, opening the clutch in her hands and setting a card next to his signed and paid receipt. “Maybe next time, we can plan an actual dinner together.”
He glanced at the card as she left him.
A laugh bubbled forth.
Hakuno Kishinami
Kishinami Designs
Her cell number was scrawled across the bottom in graceful strokes.
“Well played, Kishinami. Well played.”
He placed the card in his pocket before heading for the door.
He’d call Enkidu to pick him up.

Thoughts of the Droid: Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker
Hello, people of Tumblr! How have they been in these first weeks of the new year? As always, I hope very well. On this occasion, I bring to you all my opinions and thoughts about the last movie of 2019: Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker
This film that closes a whole new trilogy that saw its beginnings in 2015 and that also comes to close more than forty years of a story that has been expanded to the point of exhaustion, has received destructive criticism. And it is not for less, since having the honor of being the last film of a main chronology within the canon, made it have very high expectations. It is also influenced by the fact that we all expected this film to redeem the new trilogy, after the disaster that was Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Is it true that we are in one of the worst films in the saga? Or is there something in it that saves it from such a qualifier? Stay on my review to find out.
WARNING: NOT SPOILER FREE. Read at your own risk
Starting with the review, what did I think of the movie? Short answer: they really fell short to finish more than forty years of history within Star Wars. An enjoyable film, but with the defect of being too simple. Now let's analyze this movie in more detail.
Characters: What can I say about this point? Being honest with you, the whole new generation of characters in this new trilogy was trashed and the potential they had was very wasted. Of course, I am not facing characters that are terribly written, but they also lack genuine development and evolution. It does not feel that they have advanced and that they have had that essential journey, full of learning, that they face challenges that make them discover what they are capable of achieving, as well as knowing their own limits and exceeding them; challenges and situations that make them grow as people and especially that have characteristics that make them identifiable with the viewer.
Above all, the viewer is interested in the lives of these characters. And therefore, I can't think of them as characters that are memorable. Of course, all of them have entered the legacy of Star Wars, along with the fact that they are canonical characters, and no doubt several fans will hold them in high esteem. It will not be so in my case.
We have Ben Solo, aka Kylo Ren, who in the previous film had had a genuine and interesting development (being the most salvageable of Episode VIII), reaching the point of eliminating his master Snoke and that he remained as the new Supreme Leader . Here, in The Rise of Skywalker, he suffers a huge setback of character, being as a mere servant of Emperor Palpatine. Do you remember the scene in Episode VIII, when Kylo Ren, furious, destroyed his helmet? How that particular scene was the representation that he no longer wanted to be left alone as a shadow of Darth Vader and now he wanted to be the only master of the Dark Side of the Force? Well, in this movie you can forget about it, since in one scene, Kylo returns to repair his helmet and symbolically, he accepts himself as an apprentice of Palpatine.
We have Rey, who really, was the character who had everything to be the most interesting and the saddest of all is that she was the most wasted. And it is even more worrying that this happens with what is the main protagonist of this recent trilogy. What I remember most about Rey is that she is a woman with a good heart, with a very strict ideal of justice and a strong moral; Accompanying these traits, there is the fact that she possesses an enormous dominion over Force, whose mystery was revealed to us in this film, but I will leave that for later.
What I will mention now is that Rey remained with those features that I mentioned earlier and we never saw her leave that mold so well defined, but that in the long run, as we can see, she ended up harming her character. In her favor, Rey certainly delivers a couple of positive messages to a new generation: That, you are a descendant of a person whose legacy has been of only evil, does not define you as a bad person per se. What defines you is the actions you do for yourself and for others. In the same way, she delivers the message that, as difficult as it may seem, one must never succumb to darker desires or follow a path that is easy and thus become corrupted at all. We must always remain in the ideals of goodness.
What to say about the other characters? In my opinion, the only ones that remained in their essence and that it is pleasant to see them on screen again, are Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Luke Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine. Sadly, the only two characters that was given a dignified closure was Leia and Luke and the other two were disappointing. In the case of Leia, we really have to recognize it, it was a sad and very emotional farewell, where she sacrifices her life in order to make Ben, her son, come into reason, which in the end if it resulted in the redemption of said character (somewhat forced, but redemption after all).
In the case of Luke, even when he appears for a brief moment, his presence is equally enjoyable, especially that scene where he holds his lightsaber, demanding Rey more respect for the weapon of a Jedi, being basically a scene where they put to Rian Johnson in his place instead for that other scene where Luke disparaged his own saber. With Luke, I think it would have been good if they took advantage of what they had established in Episode VIII, where they gave indications that the spirits of the Jedi had powers beyond the unimaginable. But in the same way, it is appreciated that Luke appeared, practically with his personality of yesteryear intact.
With Emperor Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious, I have a problem. I will not deny that it was great to see it on screen, mostly because of the great performance of Ian McDiarmid, which at times reminded me of the Darth Sidious of Episode III, with all his energy and his aura of evil and hunger for power. However, this does not help much, when you consider that his return is only for the film to have a conflict and an enemy to win. It is even worse than when you see it in action, it is not a real threat to the good.
About other characters, better not talk. But I will do it anyway. Do you remember General Hux? That General of the First Order who in Episode VII imposed terror and respect and who in Episode VIII suffered a degradation that turned him into a clown? Well, in this movie it still suffers another degradation, only now it is reduced to a weeping and traitorous coward. And what deep motives did he have for committing such an act? Realize that the First Order was wrong in imposing a tyrannical government? No, he simply wanted Kylo Ren not to be the Supreme Leader. *Facepalm* It is quite curious that the commander who killed him, just by appearing in very few scenes, was a much more memorable character than Hux himself, since this commander did have the ruthless attitude and personality that usually exists between Baddies of Star Wars. That and also influences that it has a slight resemblance to Grand Moff Tarkin helps a lot.
With Finn and Poe Dameron, I have no problem, since we saw them interact together in most of the film. In fact, all the discussion and conflict that both have feels quite real and well acted. In essence, two men in a war, where both seek practical solutions to a conflict of galactic scale, only that each has a different opinion. Although yes, both fight for the same cause. It was especially successful, that both finally resolved their differences and that Poe recognized that he needed help when he was appointed new leader of the resistance. Both supported each other in difficult times and fought side by side, showing an authentic friendship between the two. Well done.
About the soldiers of the First Order, along with the Sith Troopers and the Knights of Ren? They only serve to fill screen, be defeated in an insultingly easy way and especially sell figures. Uselessness at its best. Thanks for participating guys, keep trying.
To finish this point, I will mention a little to C3PO, which serves as a comic relief character in this film. I am quite aware that was the role of the character in previous installments, but I feel that here they exaggerated his role too much, since instead of giving a couple of laughs, he ended up being irritating; In addition, the fact that the other characters treat him as a ballast or a useless object, denotes a very disrespectful treatment towards this character.
In general, the film has a huge variety of characters, but does NOT know what to do with them and does not know how to give them development and evolution so that they feel much more part of the story. In his favor, the film does know how to relate the characters to each other, especially the good guys so they feel like a huge family, despite their multiple differences.
Story: How to define it? Without a doubt the words that come to mind, would be those of a story made in a hurried way and full of conveniences of the script for this advance. The worst part is that they don't even bother making deus ex machina more subtle.
An example of this, we have Rey who discovers from nothing how to use that Sith dagger, with an infallible intuition and precision that makes you wonder if it was guided by the Force or is the product of a poor script. In this case, it would have been better if they had presented us with an earlier scene, where Rey, with genuine curiosity, inspects that dagger to discover that measuring instrument hidden in that weapon.
By the way, who forged the dagger, must have had powers of Nostradamus to know in what position the remains of the second Death Star would remain.
And since I mentioned the dagger, it is just as convenient how they found that relic, falling into a kind of sand trap that overlooked a series of underground caves. And what the hell with that alien snake scene? I imagined that they would face this creature and in the end we have a slightly strange scene, where Rey, making use of the Force heals a wound of said animal. Many would think that this scene is unnecessary, but honestly I don't think so. Yes, the scene is somewhat misplaced, but it has its justification, since later it was established as another power of Rey and that in fact would use to save the life of her rival Kylo Ren.
One of the most controversial points is precisely that Rey was really Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter. Now, the problem, in fact two problems with the origin of Rey, are these: first, Palpatine is the type of character who ambitions power only for him and no one else. In his obsession with getting it and keeping it, that he has hardly taken care of having a family. Second, that Rey was Palpatine's granddaughter first emerged as a fan theory, after the premiere of Episode VII. If the scriptwriters took a theory of fans, that only means one thing: they were devoid of ideas and how to use Palpatine's character and relate it to the story.
Again, in favor of the story, the scenes between Rey and Kylo really show their eternal conflict, where the Sith seeks for Rey to join the Dark Side and accept her dark heritage. Rey for her part, seeks that Kylo pay for the crimes he did, although deep in her heart, she wants Kylo to return to be Ben Solo, to be in the Bright side of the Force. Their interactions are well achieved and in fact they maintain a certain interest in the viewer. By the way, when Palpatine has them both subjected and absorbs the vital energy of the two to regenerate himself, he mentions that the union of Rey and Kylo is a kind of Special Force ... too bad he just mentioned it and history doesn't bother to explain it thoroughly.
Despite what has been said in the negative points, I think it is also a pretty decent story, since, unlike in Episode VIII, which the film did not know what story to tell, here in this film it concentrates quite well in telling only one story: the search and destruction of Emperor Palpatine and the First Order and thus return to the galaxy the time of peace that he needed so much. In addition to telling that story, it also shows us other subplots, without these being fully fought with the main narrative.
Visuals and Special Effects: We can be calm. If there is something that has always characterized the Star Wars franchise are the special effects, and that are always at the forefront with the latest advances in this area. And in Episode IX could not be the exception. The special effects ensure that you are immersed in the different worlds that are shown in the film and even more, they ensure that the spectators feel part of a distant galaxy. The recreation of extraterrestrial beings, as well as abandoned ships and sites were phenomenal in my opinion. I highlight in particular the scenario of the destroyed Second Death Star, which feels like a huge place (quite obvious if we consider that it was similar in size to a small planet), a reflection of a dark era of yesteryear and also serves as a preamble, a reflection of Rey with herself and the destiny she will have to face.
As always, visuals and special effects have a A+ insured.
Action: Unfortunately, the action on this occasion was quite a bit dull. Of course, there are sequences of action very well achieved, such as the persecution in the desert, where soldiers of the First Order hunted our protagonists in some motorcycle tanks quite adapted to arid terrain and with the peculiarity of catapulting towards air to one of the crew (equipped with jet-packs). Certainly that sequence of action is very entertaining and exciting to watch; of how our protagonists face a group that can attack on land and air without mercy.
However, many other scenes remained to be polished, in particular I want to mention the battles with lightsabers. And it is that they lack the emotion and impact that was seen in the prequel trilogy, where the action was rampant and they were beautifully choreographed. Here in this movie, I feel that the intention was to honor the fighting in the style of Episode IV, which was obviously slow and only hit the lightsabers. Even so, these fight scenes between Rey and Kylo were soft, where in my opinion there was a lot of improvisation and hence filming as it is to get the film to market as soon as possible.
A rather negative point in the action was the final battle between Rey and Emperor Palpatine. Being a very disappointing battle, since the battle was for more emotion, however the script resolves it very easily, with Rey acquiring the strength of the Jedi and reflecting the Sith rays on Darth Sidious to end him definitively. Apart from that, the scene is not entirely clear: if the Jedi gave their strength to Rey, or if it was she who suddenly acquired that power to end Palpatine.
Fighting with spaceships and Destroyers of the First Order also suffer from this problem. And it is that by witnessing thousands and thousands of ships, which could easily have demolished the Destroyers without problem, they were in short sequences of action, where we hardly see them maneuvering and firing. It was to be a battle of epic proportions, much like the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings. Even with everything, the action can be enjoyable and is also one of the strongest points of the film.
In conclusion, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, is a film that while it can be enjoyed, it is definitely one of the lowest quality films within the franchise. Of course, it is far from being the worst of this saga, but it also does not have many elements that make it a memorable movie. In certain aspects it is a decent film and it certainly does not give you headaches when you see it.
However, it is sad to see that this new trilogy has been wasted in this way, and it is even sadder to see that it really had the potential not only to please new generations, but even to unite old and new generations of fans to enjoy a renewed air of this franchise. If you ask me, even though J.J. Abrams directs this movie, without a doubt the fault lies more with Rian Johnson. Abrams, in Episode VII had planted the seed of what would be expected would be a fruitful tree, of new stories, adventures, and characters (and money). And Rian Johnson figuratively destroyed the tree to plant his own that was already dead. Definitely all his ravings began to take charge of this new trilogy and has condemned it to be at a low point.
If you liked Episodes VII and VIII, you might like this last chapter of the saga. If on the contrary you are more fan of the previous canon, for your own sake avoid this movie. I meanwhile, I give this movie 2 of 5 Spirits of The Force. Sadly the force is not with us now in this last film of the main saga.
Greetings

------------------------------------
Chapter Forty-Five: Kyber
I came to with a start, my eyes snapping open as I shot upright. The room I was in was not unlike the Father’s monastery in design. Yet, the walls and floor were earthy colors, and orange glow pouring into the room from painted glass windows. A throne stood in the hall where the Father’s meditation pedestal might have gone.
Beside the throne, looking out the window, stood the Son.
“I take it this is your home,” I said, somehow finding confidence despite the tremble in my legs. “Why have you brought me here?”
“For the same reason I brought you to this world,” he responded, not looking at me. “To remind you of true power.” He turned abruptly, Force lightning striking me in the chest. “And for you to help convince the Chosen One.”
I let out a scream as I flew backwards, the lightning stopping as the Son paced. “You’re insane,” I growled, pulling out my pistol and firing. The shots ricocheted off him like he was made of beskar before he flicked his wrist again.
The pistol exploded in my grasp, my hand immediately searing. I screamed, falling to my knees and clutching my burning palm. The Son glanced sideways past me before lifting his hand again, dragging me across the room with the Force. He placed me against the wall, surprisingly, without too much roughness.
“Sister,” he breathed slowly. “What a pleasant surprise. And you brought a friend.”
I could say nothing as the Son turned to greet the Daughter and Obi-wan, who walked into the room slowly. I sat in pained silence, clutching my hand to my chest, tears streaming down my face with reckless abandon.
The Daughter glanced over at me briefly before looking back at the Dark Sider. “What have you done, brother?” Behind her, Obi-wan was watching me with worry. Still, he dared not to step away from the tense confrontation between siblings.
“Done?” the Son tilted his head before pacing. “I have...done what is right.” He tilted his head again in thought. “Or, what is wrong, depending on your point of view.” He sat on his throne, steepling his fingers in glee.
“Our father is dying,” the Daughter lamented. “Did you do it?”
The corner of the Son’s mouth twitched just slightly. Still, when he spoke, it was almost like he was trying to justify his words, like a child defending his drawings on the wall. “He is just so selfish and was taking too long to die, so I decided to move things along.” He composed himself quickly. “Now, why are you here?”
The Daughter was fuming...if she was allowed to do that. “I won’t let you leave this planet,” she declared
“You are not strong enough to keep me here,” the Son responded smoothly, rising from his throne again.
Obi-wan stepped forward. “Not alone, she isn’t.”
“Are you referring to your friend,” the Son asked with a smile. “The Chosen One? You might want to check up on him. He’s a little preoccupied right now.”
Panic settled over Obi-wan’s features as he moved to race from the room. He slowed near me, but I shook my head. “Go,” I said out through clenched teeth. Obi-wan nodded and raced from the room. The sounds of lightsabers clashing echoed quietly from the window the Son was looking out.
“Can you feel it, sister?” he asked wistfully. “Can you feel the anger, the hate, the fury?” He was reveling in it, his gaze glancing at me. He could feel my own anger that I was struggling to control.
“Their conflict is feeding you, isn’t it?” the Daughter realized. “I must stop them!”
“No!” the Son growled, throwing her backwards and away from the door. She recovered easily, power surging in the room. It was like an intense pressure, pushing on my eardrums. She lifted the Son in the air before slamming him back to the ground. “If you will stand in my way,” the Son spoke steadily, finding his feet and dusting off his gloves. “Then I guess we must fight.”
The two grappled for only a moment before separating, the Son shooting lightning from his fingertips. It was then that I realized how powerful the Daughter was, as well. I supposed I had overlooked her in the light of my interactions with the Son and Father. Yet, she deflected his bolts of lightning with ease, twirling deftly to redirect it at her brother.
He flew back with a grunt, the peaceful Daughter holding him against a ceiling arch, her face determined. The room warped with power again, this time filled with conflict and anger. The Son struck out his hand, a huge swarm of lightning engulfing the Daughter and sending her flying backwards.
“No!” I cried, forcing myself to stand despite the blinding pain coming from my hand. The Son floated down from the ceiling easily, his expression smug. I had no weapon...aside from the lightsaber. Steeling myself, I watched as the Son approached me leisurely, power emanating from him.
I drew the saber from my pouch, the blade igniting in a brilliant red.
And my legs collapsed beneath me, sending me to my knees as the kyber screamed in my mind. Well...I guess I wasn’t going to be helpful in this.
I heard the Daughter through the pulsing in my mind as I fought the intensity of the saber’s memories. “You don’t have to do this,” she insisted as she found her feet.
“Then stand aside,”  the Son growled, enveloping his sister in another bought of electricity.
“I can’t,” she panted. “I won’t!” She stood, and as my vision blurred, the crystal pushing even harder against me, I saw her rush her brother, turning into her creature form. And then there was nothing but pain.
-----------------------------------------------------
Alarms blared around me as my vision began to return, except it wasn’t my vision. It was someone else’s. Someone whose hands were desperately working over the console of a ship. “Spinner!” an unfamiliar male voice yelled, feeling like it came from my own lips. The person let out a series of curses as the alarms declared an incoming impact. And then the terrible searing of fire.
The vision shifted again, showing myself standing at the edge of a volcanic pit.
“Dreypa,” a man beside me hissed, looking at me. “What are we going to do?” We were surrounded by soldiers and I knew their intent was to throw us into the lava. I realized in that moment I was finally listening to the kyber crystal’s story...whether I liked it or not.
I looked down, seeing a Sith talisman in the palm of Dreypa’s--my--hand. It burned my skin as it engaged, the darkness of its power nearly suffocating. And then I felt something awaken. Something sinister and huge. Something unnatural.
I felt Dreypa’s smug confidence as he watched his Leviathans rise. He ordered them to kill all present...even his fellow sith.
So much death. So much destruction.
I was ripped from the horrible scene as the kyber brought me to my next vision.
I looked down, seeing the lightsaber of my ancestor in my grasp. I watched it slice through jedi, knowing that Dreypa had come across the patrol. The kyber wailed as it was used to slaughter innocents. It wasn’t the first time.
I was shown vision after vision of the lightsaber being used to kill innocents until suddenly...it wasn’t red anymore.
The blade was a brilliant green color, shining in the dark room in which I sat. I was aboard a cruiser, and I knew I was fleeing the Jedi Order with other Dark Jedi. Hatred and anger bubbled inside me, the saber trembling under my will. I hated that saber. I hated everything it stood for. I’d given my life to the Order...but they were wrong.
A scream of rage erupted from my throat, the lightsaber sputtering and extinguishing. I felt the pain of the kyber as it cracked, splintering like glass. Panting with anger, I turned the hilt and thumbed the ignition switch. The blade sprung forth again, red as blood as the crystal bled with my darkness.
My vision swirled a final time before I was struck with the cold. My breath misted out in puffs, surrounded by ice. I somehow knew I was on Ilum. A sacred place for the Jedi Order. I crept forward in the cold, something shining before me amongst the icicles.
Trembling fingers reached forward, the shining crystal singing in my mind. It was beautiful. Hopeful. Good. My fingers plucked it from its place among the ice, the crystal shining in my palm. It felt...right. Like it had wanted me to find it. Like we were compatible in the very Force itself.
-------------------------
I gasped as my eyes opened to reveal the Son’s throne room again. My hand was clutched around the hilt of my ancestor’s lightsaber, the blade engaged. It hummed in my hand, but the screaming of the kyber had stopped. It was still in pain, as I was...but it knew I understood it now.
And maybe...it understood me, too.
I realized the things I had to do in order to fix the kyber in that moment. But now wasn’t the time. I found my feet, somehow ignoring the pain in my seared hand. The room was empty, the sibling’s battle having ceased. The end of the room was speckled with shattered glass. I raced to the broken window, seeing everyone--including the Father--below in the courtyard.
I disengaged the lightsaber and tucked it away before racing down to meet them. When I got there, the Son was shooting lightning at his father, who was barely holding back the power. I realized that the Father was doing as I did against Dooku a year prior. Though, I knew I could never do that against the Son.
“You are too weak for me, old man,” the Son declared. “You mean nothing to me anymore!”
As I approached, I saw something was off about Ahsoka. Her head-tails were painted with black veins, her stature hunched and lightsabers in her fists. I understood now what the forbidden thing the Son had done. He turned Ahsoka.
How, I couldn’t be sure.
The Son broke through the Father’s defenses, launching the old man backwards. He continued in his torture, all of us watching on helplessly.
“Anakin!” Obi-wan called, brandishing an ancient looking blade. “Now!” He tossed the blade, but Ahsoka intercepted it, racing up to the Son’s side.
“What is she doing?” I cried, left hand still clutched to my chest. She looked back at us with a smirk, waving the blade at us tauntingly.
“Everything has transpired exactly as I planned,” the Son gloated as he turned to Ahsoka.
“You showed them the altar?” the Father lamented, cradling his side in pain.
Obi-wan helped the Daughter to her feet. “I am sorry, Father,” she pleaded. “I didn’t know how else to stop him!”
“Give it to me, child,” the Son demanded of the young Togruta.
She glanced over her shoulder at us again. “Ahsoka, no,” Anakin cried. She looked down, almost as if she was contemplating his words. But then she straightened her back and handed over the blade, dropping it into the Son’s palm.
“Thank you,” he smirked, twirling the blade playfully. “Your usefulness has come to an end.” He touched his fingers against her forehead, the girl crumpling to the ground immediately.
“No!” Anakin screamed, rushing forward only to be thrown backwards past me by the Son. I hurried to his side, helping him back to his feet with my good hand.
“The jedi have brought me the dagger,” the Son said, looking to his father. “And you have brought yourself. Now, Father, you will die!” He raised the dagger, aiming for his father’s chest.
“Father!” the Daughter cried, rushing from Obi-wan’s grasp to throw herself between her brother and father. A terrible gasp erupted from her throat as she was struck, the light she gave off dimming immediately. The Father caught her in his grasp as the Son backed up, looking at his hands in shock.
He let out a yell of grief. “Why?” he screamed, lightning flashing as he launched himself into the air, away from us.
Anakin rushed forward, turning over his padawan to discover a lifeless face. Meanwhile, the Father lowered his daughter to the ground, removing the dagger and throwing it away. “My daughter,” he whispered. “What have I done?”
The Daughter let out a few piteous coughs, her hand reaching for her father’s. “Do not hate him, Father. It is his nature.”
“No,” he whimpered as the tree in the courtyard began to shrivel and dissolve. I looked around in fright as I followed Obi-wan to Anakin’s side. Her power was diminishing. The Dark Side would destroy this place...and maybe more. “All is lost,” the Father said, confirming my worries. “The balance has been broken. I thought by bringing you here, I would--” his words cut off as he shook his head, looking down at his daughter. “But I have destroyed everything.”
Anakin let out a shaking breath. “Can you help her?” he asked, still kneeling beside Ahsoka.
“There is no light,” the Father lamented. “The evil has been unleashed, and the Dark Side shall consume her.”
“You must help her!” Anakin cried, the sound of oncoming tears in his voice. I shook my head, trying to figure out some way to save her. If I could resist the darkness...so could Ahsoka, right? She was a far better person than I was, anyways.
“I cannot undo what is done. There is no hope.”
I frowned at the Father, but Anakin beat me to it. “Yes, there is,” he insisted. “There’s always hope!” It was moments like these that made me realize that Anakin, despite all his struggles or any opinions of the Order...was a good person.
The Daughter reached up to her father’s cheek, touching it gently. She pointed at Ahsoka wordlessly. The Father stood, gesturing for Anakin to kneel before him, between the two prone women. He guided Anakin, having him place one hand on each of the women’s foreheads.
“Then let my daughter’s last act,” the Father explained, closing his eyes. “Be to breathe life into your friend.” They arched off the ground as the Force rolled through the courtyard. Light erupted from all of them, making Obi-wan and I step backwards, eyes squinting. It ended as abruptly as it began, Anakin panting between them.
I looked at Ahsoka, seeing that the dark lines had receded. She let out a cough, sitting up suddenly. Anakin quickly enveloped her in a hug, his face tucked into her shoulder. Relief washed over us all, despite the impending turmoil of the Son’s growing power.
“Hey, Snips,” Skywalker said with a small laugh.
“What’s…” Ahsoka seemed dazed. “Going on?”
“Uh, not much,” Anakin lied. “It’s good to see you.” He helped her to her feet, Obi-wan offering her lightsabers back to her.
“As the balance in this world crumbles,” the Father interrupted, stepping forward. “So shall war escalate in your galaxy. As my son has descended into the Dark Side, so have the Sith gained strength.”
I chewed my lips in worry as Anakin stepped forward. “We will stop your son.”
“No,” the Father insisted. “You must go now. He needs your ship to leave the planet. You must leave before he can take it.”
“What about you?” Obi-wan asked.
“I shall mourn all that I have done.” The Father touched his daughter’s cheek gently. “And all that is yet to be.”
I glanced at the jedi surrounding me, seeing them all silently agree. I followed them out, agreeing to let Obi-wan take me back to the monastery where my ship was. Ahsoka and Anakin took the other speeder, heading back to repair their own ship.
“Are you sure you won’t need my help to get your ship fixed?” I asked Obi-wan as I got off the speeder outside the monastery.
“As much as I appreciate it, everyone needs to get out of here as fast as possible. You need to get out of here as much as us. We’ll be fine.”
I nodded at him as he sped away. Running up the steps and to the landing platform, I felt relieved that this was all over. Then again...nothing good had come of it. What would the galaxy look like when I emerged? Would it be as it was, but only be doomed to get worse? Or would it be an immediate change by the effect of this place?
Would it even be the galaxy I knew?
I ran up my gangway, putting the ignition gauge back and starting the engines. My ship whirred to life as she should have when I first got here. Glancing up, I saw the Son standing on the platform before my ship. He was staring up through my viewport, his arms crossed expectantly.
“Osik,” I cursed under my breath, feeling the ship shudder under his power. He was stretching out his hands, holding the ship in place. He wanted to hitchhike.
I rose from my chair, engaging the engines to push up as I snatched a blaster from the wall. I climbed up the ladder and through the top hatch, letting off a series of shots at the Son. As they had before, the blasts bounced off like I was throwing pebbles. Suddenly my body was lifted into the air, dragging me from my ship.
“No!” I yelled, trying to let off more shots, none of them hitting their mark. The Son flicked his wrist, tossing me sideways and onto the landing platform. I tumbled across it, my hands grasping desperately as my body rolled over the edge. I grunted through my gritted teeth, fingers clenching on the ledge.
With a heave, I pulled myself up to get my chest back onto the platform, my injured hand searing my brain with blinding pain. Through my panic and pain, I watched the Son hold my ship in place, lifting himself with the Force. He disappeared through the top hatch I had emerged from, his pale face visible through the viewport.
He graciously took his seat in my pilot’s chair, the engines engaging as he pushed the joysticks forward. I shimmied my body forward, finally able to roll to my feet. My shuttle flew away from the platform, leaving me to only watch.
I set my jaw, my eyes narrowing. “I’m not letting you off this rock,” I growled to the dark sky. My wrist gauntlet beeped as I plugged in the series of commands I had programmed for these type of situations. There was only a moment of hesitation--remembering the holo-image of Jango, Boba, and I that decorated the table in my cabin. The endless equipment that stocked my walls. The downright reliable nature of the shuttle herself.
I pressed the last button, watching as the engines began to overload from a distance. They sparked and spurted before suddenly going silent...only to explode in a balloon of light. There went my ride...I would have to find a new one.
I knew I didn’t kill the Son, as I could still feel his immense power over this world. Still, I’d hurt him, at least.
Or just pissed him off.
I certainly wasn’t expecting to see his creature form storming out of the smoke cloud, barreling down on me. I backpedaled in fright, trying to turn and race back inside the monastery. Claws clamped down over my back, lifting me into the air and over the looming tower. The storm raged around us as the Son’s anger only grew, carrying me across the shadowy landscape.
I struggled to no avail, finally letting out a defeated groan. Not again…

Job Classes I made for the two timelines I created for The Depths of Time like an impulsive dummy
Since @sunneflower said they were interested.
I decided to include the Elsword job paths these were inspired by. This is mostly spoiler free!! Mostly because I kept everything purposefully vague since, while I did solidify the premises for these two timelines, I don't have a lot of the actual STORY fleshed out other than the beginning and tidbits here and there.
Anyway, on to the job paths (gonna do a cut because this post is actually really long)
Destruction Timeline – a timeline where the El Search Party was defeated and only a handful of them remain (though I haven't included what happens to who all that much), fighting a losing guerilla war purely to ensure their survival, unable to help the people they swore to protect.
Elsword (based on Immortal): Execution Knight/Blade Reaper/Hel’s Emissary
Elsword decided some people didn’t deserve a second chance and that he would dirty his own hands to ensure they never caused trouble for the world again, honing his sword skills until he could wield two smaller blades with deadly accuracy.
Aisha (based on Aether Sage): Storm Magician/Hurricane Eye/Vengeance Seeker
Aisha channeled her power into creating storms of unmatched magnitude to easily take care of the hoards the El Search Party found themselves facing off against but after escaping capture with Ara, she started to push her friends away, becoming cold and distant.
Rena (Based on Anemos): Assault Ranger/Cyclone Striker/Maelstrom
Rena found her abilities in combat to not be enough to protect her friends and asked the wind spirits to help her be faster and stronger so she could become the tip of the spear so to speak, plowing through even the strongest enemies with power to spare.
Raven (Based on Rage Hearts): Scale Taker/Dragon Fist/Wyrm Soul
When Raven came across a dragon, he decided to attempt harnessing that power to protect his friends and created highly durable armor from a dragon’s scales and refining his sword to be as sharp as dragon claws. He redesigned his Nasod arm to be able to harness flames equivalent to a dragon’s breath.
Eve (Based on Code: Ultimate & Code: Esencia): Code: Revival/Code: Assimilation/Code: Ragnorak
Eve focused on the revival of her people but she realized that humans and Nasods could never peacefully coexist. Rather than despair, she came up with a rather unorthodox solution to the problem and pursued it with single-minded determination and vigor.
Elesis (Based on Bloody Queen): Judgement Knight/Purgatory Blade/Vindicator
If Elsword is the executioner then Elesis is the judge and jury. Determined to right the wrongs of the world, she makes sure those who hurt others cannot escape punishment, never doubting the righteousness of her actions, with an unpredictable but precise fighting style.
Chung (Based on Centurion & Comet Crusader): Shield Guardian/Phalanx Cannon/Victory Herald
With the hordes facing Hamel and then his friends, Chung focused on strengthening his defense as far as he could push it. He created a phalanx-like set of shields he commands at will, as well as providing friends/allies with support with his long-range attacks and plethora of buff abilities.
Add (Based on Dominator): Splinter Tracer/Void Watcher/Fenrir’s Master (as in the wolf from Norse mythology)
Early on in his research into time travel, Add discovered the existence of alternate timelines and created portals that allowed him to send drones into those other timelines to monitor them. With the El Search Party, he’s a wild card who’s only known loyalty is to himself yet he has made himself an invaluable ally despite their inability to trust him.
Ara (Based on Shakti): Little Wisp/Holy Revenant/Spirit Harbinger
Ara partnered with Eun to better defend her friends and find her brother but when she woke up in Lu and Ciel’s fortress having escaped capture, Eun was gone. Left on her own in a way she never thought she would be, she desperately tries to hold out hope that everything will be okay.
Lu (Based on Innocent (Ishtar)): Final Ruler/Eternal Shadow/Genesis (Rapture)
Lu set to regaining her power and through an unexpected twist of events succeeded much sooner than she had anticipated and is now the sole ruler of the demon realm.
Ciel (Based on Catastrophe (Abysser)): Final Ruler/Eternal Shadow/Genesis (Entropy)
Ciel takes being Lu’s shadow literally and becomes her left hand, performing tasks most would stay far away from to ensure their success and survival.
Ain (Based on Richter & Herrscher): Lofty: Warrior/Donner (means thunder) Essence/Blitzkrieg
Ain doesn't manage to catch himself in time and falls to the Dark El. He becomes a demonic deity similar to the demon god Scar was trying to summon in Lanox.
Rose (Based on Minerva & Prime Operator): Novice Hacker/Signal Echo/Cyber Wraith
Rose arrives to Elrios and finds herself in conflict with Nasods. She manages to capture some models mostly intact and reverse engineers ways to get into their program and shut them down without causing any damage to their physical structure. That way she can repurpose them.
Laby (Based on Eternity Winner & Nisha Labyrinth): Shadow Child/Twilight Mist/Midnight Specter
In an effort to protect herself from the world, Laby learns how to fight. Because people scare her, she often finds herself in the shadows, cast off to the side, and she becomes comfortable there. She learns to use people's tendency to overlook her to her advantage.
-
Nasod Timeline – a timeline where Nasod technology is a common fascination among the people of Elrios, almost like mythology in the modern world, and many have at least dabbled their toes in Nasod technology, and some are able to utilize it (though not to the same extent as in the past).
Elsword (Based on Knight Emperor): Wandering Knight/Honorable Sellsword/Gladiolus
While Elsword did advertise his services as a swordsman so he could get out and see more of the world he loves so much, he still insists on doing the right thing, upholding the values of a knight just like his sister would.
Aisha (Based on Aether Sage & Metamorphy): Saber Magician/Elemental Duelist/Arcane Fencer
When it was still just her, Elsword, and Rena, Aisha witnessed a duel where one party wielded a rapier and, despite thinking of swords as barbaric beforehand, she became fascinated by the precise and quick movements that were so similar to how she directed her magic.
Rena (Based on Twilight): Ambush Ranger/Spectral Hunter/Supreme Predator
With the El Search Party having been ambushed too many times during their journeys for Rena’s liking, she decides to beat their enemies at their own game. She perfects her abilities and becomes better than any enemy ever could be.
Raven (Based on Furious Blade): Arsenal Taker/Weapon Master/Gilgamesh
Raven refused to lose any of his new friends and in their battles, he found his sword skills to not be enough. Not wanting to use his Nasod arm, he began carrying multiple weapons on his person and soon it grew until he was carrying an arsenal all his own that he was more than proficient with.
Eve (Based on Code: Sariel & Code: Esencia): Code: Constellation/Code: Pulsar/Code: Andromeda
Eve woke up in a lab instead of her capsule but she escaped and found herself in the wilderness, completely alone, as the only Nasod remaining in Elrios. She wandered, without much of a destination. On her journey, she was inspired by the powerful beauty of the stars in the sky and set her mind to finding a way to mimic that in her abilities using condensed El energy.
Elesis (Based on Empire Sword & Flame Lord): Wing Knight/Flame Empress/Nike (as in the goddess of victory)
While perfecting her sword and fire skills, Elesis came across designs for wings made from Nasod technology and wondered if she could turn the wings into blades that could be directed. The only problem being, while she was decent at following directions, she was unlikely to ever understand the calculations she was plugging into the apparatus, let alone actually make her own additions to it but luckily when she met up with the El Search Party they found someone more than willing to help her add blades to her set of wings.
Chung (Based on Centurion & Fatal Phantom): War Guardian/Iron Battalion/Unlimited Armory
Not wanting to get trapped should he find himself in a situation where he couldn’t use his cannon, Chung set to mastering any weapon that was similar enough that he could learn it in the short amount of time he had. With some help, he developed a piece of Nasod technology that would allow him to summon to his aid any weapon he wanted as long as it was connected to his device and he set to creating his own artillery that he could summon to any location.
Add (Based on Doom Bringer): Empty Tracer/Nasod Mimic/White Star
Not much is known about Add beyond his inability to speak and that he can create particle projections that mimic the abilities of any Nasod he has come into contact with.
Ara (Based on Apsara & Shakti): Little Lance/Ouroboros/Amphisbaena
Ara decided one spear was not enough and, with Eun’s help, developed a unique fighting style using two spears and created her own secret arts: Phoenix Secret Arts and Serpent Secret Arts. She honed her new fighting style until she was faster and deadlier than ever before.
Lu (Based on Catastrophe (Timoria) & Diangelion (Iblis)): Shepherd’s Crook/Steeled Ka/Osiris (Lotus)
Lu wanted to work as a team with Ciel, but it was difficult coming up with something that worked the way she wanted it to with their clashing fighting styles where she preferred to get in their enemies’ faces and he preferred fighting from a distance. She stubbornly continued to work with Ciel until the two of them became unstoppable.
Ciel (Based on Innocent (Chevalier)): Shepherd’s Crook/Steeled Ka/Osiris (Duat)
Determined to protect Lu, Ciel decided it was best to attack from range, picking off the targets she missed in her sweeps but Lu wanted to work more as an equal force than leader and support. So, Ciel worked with her to adjust their fighting styles to be more in line with the team dynamic she wanted.
Ain (Based on Bluhen & Herrscher): Lofty: Reflection/Doppelganger/Ersatz (means replacement)
Ain was never drawn out of the rift by Elsword’s presence so a copy of him was created to fulfill his purpose. Ain is alone, searching for the El, when he comes across Eve and the two of them team up to achieve their individual goals.
Rose: Metal Heart/Optimus/Prime Operator
I decided this route worked REALLY well with the overall vibe I was going for for this timeline, so I decided to slap it in instead of making a whole new Rose route (making everyone else was hard enough).
Laby (Based on Radiant Soul & Eternity Winner): Wonder Child/Sparkle Champion/Heracles
Laby wants to help people and see all the world has to offer her but she also wants to protect everything she's come to hold dear. Not wanting to lose another friend, Laby asks Gaia to teach her to fight and teams up with Nisha to do that.

This was originally meant to be a one shot based off of @elithien‘s lovely illustration. But it’s definitely got another chapter in it still to be written ;)
This is for @elithien and @michellestarswept :)
------------------------------------
It was a lavish event. Diplomats from multiple systems were there, as Chandrila hedged its bets looking for new alliances after the destruction of the Republic. Supreme Leader had sent him and Hux to represent the Order and to be sure the Chandrilians realized where it was their best interest to ally. A core world like them could not be overlooked, between their credits, resources, and influence over smaller systems. He had protested, to no avail, that he had no business being involved with diplomacy. Such things were best left to people such as His. Just as meting out death was best left for those like him. His mother may had been a princess, but he was no prince.
Yet here he was at the diplomatic ball, decked out in the finery of the First Order dress uniform. Black silk shirt with a high collar and ruffled black stock tie. The long, finely woven black coat, marked with red piping, came down past his knees. The black of the uniform contrasted to the white gloves of soft leather he wore on his hands.
And of course, no mask. He was open, vulnerable, to everyone in the room. And Gods he hated it. He had slunk to a corner of the room, leaning against the wall and glowering and drinking Corellian brandy.
Hux, on the other hand was peacocking around, chatting pleasantly as he preened himself among the affluent and powerful. Once the little pissant had come over and attempted to scold him for being “improper” and “antisocial”, insisting he come “mingle” with the other guests. He didn't dignify the redhead with a verbal response, just glared at him in a way that said better than words what he would do if the man back the kriff off.
Draining his glass he looked around for the a server circling with trays of drinks. He was still far too sober to get through this ordeal. Scowling as he found no one nearby, he took a breath and ventured out into the crowd to find another drink. He was grabbing another brandy when he caught a few words of someone’s voice among the din, “...General Organa…”
He froze in place, closing his eyes tightly. She was here, of course she would be here. The Resistance would love to keep Chandrila among their allies. They had their own political cards to play. Holding his breath, he turned slowly and his eyes found the small woman talking to the vice-chancellor of Chandrila. So elegant, as she always had been, still royalty, still the Princess of Alderaan. Older, but still holding herself with a proud, commanding authority of a soldier and a General.
How long had it been since he had physically in the presence of his mother? His uncle had visited her once with him during the ten years he shadowed him like a dog, only a few years after she’d sent him away. He had been fifteen? Sixteen?
Did it even matter? He had been a boy still, the last time he’d been in the same room with his mother. The last time he heard her voice, they hadn’t talked over a com either since then. They had written, there was that, though he had written far more than she wrote back. Dutiful son and Jedi padawan that he had been, he wrote faithfully. She wrote back when she found the time, which, as it always had been with finding time for her family, had been rarely.
Hux swept his way towards the group surrounding the vice-chancellor, puffing himself out. He had seen Organa, he was sure. His motives for joining whatever conversations were taking place was certainly to kriff with her. It was what the little prick did best.
Why was he even still standing here? He needed to move, needed to get out of sight. If she looked over at Hux as he approached them, she would surely catch sight of him. Surely, there was nothing good that could come from her knowing he was here. Taking a step back, he began to turn when another figure stepped next to his mother.
Her. The girl. The scavenger.
He turned back, his eyes fixed on her. Her face was a bit fuller and her body had filled out, now that she no longer scrounged for meals, but still undeniably her. She was wearing a black dress, form fitting, showing off her freckled skin that had yet to lose the sun kissed tan of the desert. Her hair was full and tied up in an elaborate braid and a gold necklace hung around her neck. His mother’s-- he was fairly sure he recognized it.
The last time he had seen her he had been half-dead by her hand, staring over an abyss at her as she disengaged her saber and ran. His hand reached up and traced down the scar that ran across his face. The mark she had given him.
As if acting on their own, his legs carried him over towards her. Stepping next to Hux who looked at him, a startled expression flickering across his face before he regained control. He heard his mother draw in a breath of shock, but his eyes were on the girl as her startled eyes flicked up to meet his.
He felt as lost in them as he had when he had first looked into them on Takadona.
“Vice-Chancellor, may I introduce to you Kylo Ren, Master of the Knights of Ren. So glad you joined us, Ren,” Hux’s voice oozed smoothly next to him.
He flicked his eyes away from the girl’s to shoot the man a warning look before turning and bowing slightly to the Vice-Chancellor, most of the bend in his neck. The etiquette that had been drilled into him during his youth surfacing as if it hadn’t been nearly two decades since he’d had use for such things,  “It is a pleasure to meet you, sir. We are honored to be your guests.”
The Vice-Chancellor beamed before giving a matching bow, “So few people respect proper formalities these days. We are honored to have you as our guests, and to share with you the splendor that we are able to provide.” The man turned to Organa and the girl, “General Hux, Kylo Ren, may I introduce another two of our guests, General Organa…”
Hux gave no more than a curt nod as he glared at the woman, who glanced at him with a cold glare. The Vice-Chancellor flicked his eyes over the man in disapproval.
He stepped towards his mother, woman looking up at him in surprise as he extended his hand with another short bow, “General Organa and I are acquainted,” he said. She stared at his hand, looking shocked for half a minute before slowly raising her hand to meet his. Once again following the formal etiquette for such introductions, he brought his other hand to clasp gently around the top of hers, bowing as he brought her hand up for his lips to brush a kiss across the knuckles. Feeling her hand shake in his hand at the contact. He straightened from his bow, releasing his hands for her to pull hers back. Their eyes met, hers were filled with conflict and pain. He wondered what she saw in his?
She bowed her neck to him, her voice rasped as she spoke, “Yes, we are acquainted.” Her voice broke slightly and she paused before continuing, voice smooth and under control, “Your manners are to be admired, as the Vice-Chancellor said, such formalities are ignored by many these days.”
“My mother raised me to respect such things.” He spoke matter-of-factly, no hint of vitriol in his voice, but she winced at his words anyway. Next to him Hux blew out an amused huff of air and he resisted the urge to punch him squarely in his smug, smarmy face. Not that resisting the urge to punch Hux wasn’t a daily occurrence, but it was especially strong this time.
The girl was glaring at him. He knew without even looking, he could feel them. It seemed like he could feel her anger as well. She thought he was speaking with the purpose of hurting Organa and her emotions were rising, anger flickering on the edge of rage. He had seen her rage before, as she harnessed it to rain down blows on him in unbridled fury, and it was something that was more beautiful than he could describe.
He raised his own eyes, hopefully with his own emotions calm and controlled, to meet her hazel ones. If the Vice-Chancellor was aware of the tension of emotions surrounding him, he ignored it, continuing with his introductions. “And this young lady, Miss Rey…” The Vice-Chancellor paused, clearing his throat.
“Just Rey, Vice-Chancellor,” her voice spoke politely, maybe even a little shyly. She shifted and he was suddenly sure that as well as she hid it, she was very uncomfortable. Uncomfortable in these clothes, uncomfortable surrounded by these people. She felt out of place and on display and hated every moment of it.
How exactly he knew it, he wasn’t sure. But there was no doubt in his mind, any more than there had been about her anger.
“Just Rey, yes, well,” the Vice-Chancellor nodded. “General Hux, Kylo Ren, this is Miss Rey, apprentice to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, who was unable to join us on Chandrila.”
“Skywalker?!” Hux hissed next to him.
Apprentice… to… Skywalker. Apprentice to SKYWALKER. Apprentice to Luke Skywalker. The words echoed in his head as his mind refused to acknowledge him. The girl, this girl, the scavenger who had defeated him, who had denied his own offer to teach her, was now training under his uncle.
His uncle.
How he did not simply explode with the fury that surged through him, he would never know. The girl flinched and shrank back, as if she could sense the intensity rage that was now directed at her, though no one else around him seemed to know. He took a deep breath, forcing his emotions back under control, stepping forward to extend his hand and bowing as he had for his mother, “Forgive me for correcting you, Vice-Chancellor, but the correct term is Padawan, not Apprentice. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Rey.” The girl just stared at him a moment before glancing at Organa who nodded briefly towards his extended hand, encouraging the girl to take it.
Slowly she extended her hand to his, and he brought his other hand over to cover it. There were callouses built across her palm and fingertips. Callouses built up from years of harsh labor. Somehow even with them her hand seemed amazingly soft to him as he bowed deeper, bringing the hand to his lips. Where he had merely brushed his lips against his mother’s hand, here he planted a true kiss across her knuckles, allowing himself to taste her skin. He could feel a vibration jolt through her as he did so, and he resisted the urge to smirk as he straightened himself and released her hand. His eyes lingering on hers, taking in the confused emotional storm within the green and brown.
Slowly she bowed her neck, mimicking his mother’s response to him. When she spoke her voice was soft and fast, unable to control the fact she would rather not be speaking the words at all, “It is nice to meet you, sir.”
He gave a small smile and nod, before leaving his eyes resting on the girl as the Vice-Chancellor led them in idle conversation. She shifted uncomfortably in his gaze, her eyes flicking over to him before darting away. After five minutes or so she excused herself, casting one last uncomfortable glance in his direction.
Draining his glass, he politely excused himself, bowing to both the Vice-Chancellor and to Organa, before slipping away. He set his empty glass on a cocktail table and tracked down another before he wandered among the crowd until he finally found her again. Hanging back and keeping his distance, he kept her in view, following her as she wandered among the wealthy and politically connected attendees, keeping to herself. Isolated while surrounded by people.
Oh, she did hate such an ordeal, hated it as much as he did.
Another thing they had in common. How was it that they could have so much in common? Was she still lonely? Did she still lay in bed at night, praying for sleep to finally take her?  Had she found comfort now under the tutelage of his uncle? Unlikely.
Did she know how much he understood her?
Asking questions like this was so unlike him, he didn’t know if it was the alcohol or the simple effect of her presence. Maybe a combination of both? She did have such an effect on him… one that he really didn’t entirely understand.
She moved about the room and he followed. It didn’t take her long to notice him, always there, always not far away. Her eyes would find him, and he could see a growing alarm at his constant presence. There eyes would meet and he would smirk, unable to help himself.
He turned to get another drink and looked up to find her gone. The little minx must had been waiting for an opportunity to bolt. Oh no, he wasn't about to let her slip away that easily. Moving about the large ballroom, he scanned for her but she had vanished. Finishing his drink in frustration he slammed the glass down and turned to a slightly startled server to snatch another. As he did, he noticed a set of doors on the outside wall, not quite closed. His eyes fixed on them and he moved closer… a balcony perhaps?
Yes, he was certain she was out there. It was a strange thing to be certain of, there was nothing to indicate that she would be, but he was sure she was nonetheless. Walking across the room paused and grabbed a glass of Chandrilan wine with his free hand before making his way to the door, opening it quietly and slipping out silently onto the balcony and grinning as he saw her.
She was leaning against the railing, looking out on the ocean, a breeze lightly ruffling her dress. His eyes tracing down the bare skin of her arms and back, then pausing to appreciate the way her dress defined the quite lovely shape of her ass. Did she have any idea how beautiful she really was? He didn’t think so. He’d been in her mind, and beauty was not something she associated with herself.
Every muscle in her body tensed suddenly and she spun to face him, her right hand slipping into her dress to her hip. Even slightly inebriated, his eyes caught that odd motion and narrowed a moment before he grinned in realization. She saw him and snarled, “Why are you watching me?”
“You’re pleasant to watch,” he said, lightly, moving slightly closer, keeping a careful watch on where her right hand had slipped under her dress. “Are you going to pull that saber on me? That would be such a scandal, they’d talk about it in the upper echelons of Chandrilian elite for years.”
Scowling, she shook her head, slowly withdrawing her hand back into the open, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Of course not. You don’t have lightsaber in a concealed holster on your hip,” his eyes traced down her hip to her upper thigh, “or your thigh… where the skirt starts to flair? Yes… that’s where it would be if you had one, which I’m sure you absolutely do not.” He chuckled and winked at her, holding out the glass of wine to her.
She looked at the glass, and then at him, eyes narrowing.
“Do you have to assume everything has an ulterior motive?”
Slowly she reached out and took the glass from his hand before backing up and setting it down on the wide railing next to her. Her eyes following him as he walked to a bench along the wall and sat down, taking a sip of his brandy.
“You clean up well, little scavenger. Not to say you weren’t lovely in your desert rags, but you’re especially lovely tonight.”
Her eyes narrowed at him, when she spoke her voice was flat, “You’re drunk.”
He hummed thoughtfully a moment before he decided he was indeed past just being buzzed, “A little.” Raising his glass he bowed his head slightly to her, “I recommend it. It makes being at something like this more tolerable to people like us.” He nodded to the glass of wine, “Are you just afraid to drink anything I gave you or did uncle Luke force you to follow some ridiculous code of Jedi purity?”
“No. And my master forces nothing on me,” she snapped, picking the glass up and taking a small sip before setting it down again.
“Hmmm… who was it who forced you to come to this?”
She stared at him a moment, breaking eye contact before speaking, “No one forced me. They asked.”
He grinned, cocking his head, “Ah, so not forced but strongly encouraged. And it was my uncle and my mother.”
“Don’t call her that!” she snapped, her hands clenching into fists. Such beauty in that anger. “You have no right to refer to any of them as if they’re still family.”
“Just because you’ve endeared yourself to my family, scavenger, doesn’t make them less mine.” He waved his hand, draining his brandy, “You’ll find them disappointing you in time, if they hadn’t started already. Skywalker is too stubborn to change, and his ways will be as wrong for you as they were for me.”
There was no response, she rested her hands on the balcony railing and leaned back, refusing to look at him, “You know nothing about me.”
“I know you hate this. Hate being surrounded by these people, you feel like you don’t belong among them. And you’re right of course…” He smirked, “You hate that dress, which is a pity because you wear it so well. Hate those shoes, your feet are killing you in those heels and you feel like they hinder your mobility if you needed to protect yourself.” Her eyes turned to rest on him, expression falling flat, “You hate feeling like you have to behave yourself and watch what you say. That there are all these hidden rules of formality that you don’t know and you’re afraid you’re going to break.”
He got to his feet and walked towards her. She stood her ground, glaring at him, “You hate that you let them pressure you to come here. That you’re here just to be paraded around as a token bit of proof that Skywalker is alive and working with the Resistance.” She bit her bottom lip, he leaned forward, slipping his hands over hers on the railing, hunching to bring his face in front of hers, “You hate that you’re enjoying my company.”
She took a shaky breath, “You’re wrong.”
“Am I?” he asked, amused,
“And arrogant.”
“Oh, that one I’ll admit.”
Pulling her hands out from under his, she gave him a sharp push, forcing him a few steps back away from her, “You’re a monster who betrayed your fellow padawans and your master. Who was complicit in the murders of billions. Who slaughtered your own father in cold blood.”
Rage flickered through him and he pulled himself up tall, looking down at the girl, “You know nothing about these things.”
“Don’t I? I watched the last one with my own eyes,” her own rage began to fill her face at the memory. “He was my friend.”
He shook his head with a snort, “You knew him for a kriffing day. I had my entire lifetime to know what a pathetic failure he was as a father, husband, and even as a person. He would have disappointed you in the end. You should thank me for sparing you from that by killing him.”
The speed at which she moved startled him. One moment she was still against the railing, the next her hand was cracking across his cheek forcefully, rocking his head back. He looked down at her face, contorted in rage as she pointed a finger at him, “Don’t you dare speak to me again. Don’t you dare follow me anymore. I don’t care about making a scene, if you don’t leave me the kriff alone I’ll carve the other side of your face to give you a matching scar.”
Despite the sting of her blow, he grinned, “You're so beautiful when you cloak yourself in anger. So un-Jedi-like. Your master would be disappointed in you, little padawan.”
She hissed and whirled to leave, but he snatched her arm above the elbow and spun her back towards him forcefully. His grip holding firm as she tried to pull herself free. With a sharp jerk he pulled her against him, slamming her into his chest. Her eyes flashed dangerously and she bared her teeth in a fierce snarl. Leaning forward, grazing his mouth against her ear as he spoke softly, “Your fool of a master would disapprove, but not I. I recognize power for what it is; I do not pretend it is some sort of weakness.”
He release her and she jerked away from him. Backing cautiously as her eyes flashed at him dangerously. “Stay away from me,” she said, the breathy tone of her voice giving away the raging storm of emotion within.
With a sharp turn she stormed away, going back inside. His eyes drifting down to watch her ass as she went.
Sighing, he sat back down on the bench, letting her go for now. She needed some time to cool off. He would give her a little… just a little.
He glanced down at his lap, where the bulge of his half-erect cock was effectively hidden by the long coat of his dress uniform. Snorting in amusement, he shook his head,it seemed he needed a little time to cool off too.
Chuckling, he leaned back, resting his head against the wall. He wondered if that silly girl really thought they were done yet?
They weren't nearly done yet.

A Father’s Sacrifice
AU: There is still light in her.....Ezra knows it. Even Rey. As always, Mira Wren Bridger belongs to @meldy-arts
Mira Wren Bridger or now at least, Mira Ren, watches the window as star-destroyers and other ships fly past her. The ship she is in is the Chimaera, Thrawn’s flagship. Its been a month since her and Rey’s fight back at the base, she has recovered but her mother’s death haunts her. She didn’t save her mother...She wished that she held her temper in and just simply let go. The door behind her opens to reveal Grand Admiral/Director Thrawn himself. Mira looks at Thrawn underneath her mask as he enters the room causing her to take it off and turn to him.
“Sir.” Mira nodded. She still considers herself a soldier not a high ranking officer or commander. Something that Snoke doesn’t seem to like much but she obeys regardless.
“Interesting that you still call me sir despite your rank being obviously higher than mine.” Thrawn commented intrigued by Mira’s still soldier-like attitude.
“I’m still a soldier not a sith lord. Sir.” Mira replied.
“Aren’t we all soldiers to the First Order?” The Chiss countered.
“Well I guess soldiers come in different forms whether they be command or infantry. What brings you here to my room?”  Mira asks him.
“The supreme leader told me to tell you that we are mounting an assault on Coruscant. Even after the destruction of Starkiller base. Its a setback but the Resistance has only scratched the surface of the First Order. Now that their fleet has been destroyed, it its time to strike back.” Thrawn informed.
“Their victory will become their undoing then. Any news.....On the girl?” Mira asks him.
“Not known but she may have reached Skywalker alongside Solo.... But the Resistance is unpredictable to a degree and we must pay attention to them after what they’ve done.” He suggested.
“Leave them to me.” Mira added.
“No, no. The rest of the First Order can handle them. You shall be with the Knights of Ren in the assault of Corusant.” Thrawn said as Mira nods. He leaves the room with Mira following him. Mira activates her hologram disk which activates with Mira kneeling in front of it.
“Supreme leader.....” Mira greeted.
“I see you’ve heard news of our assault on Corusant, you and the Knights of Ren shall spearhead the attack on the capitol. Talon Ren will be the leader.” Snoke informed.
“Yes sir. By your teachings we shall succeed.....But what about the Resistance?” She asks.
“Our fleet led by general Hux and the super commandos shall seal their fate. The girl and Ben Solo has fled with Skywalker too...” Snoke replied.
“Then Resistance is truly dead. Your will shall be done sir.”  Mira assured.
“Your training hasn’t begun but you can apply skills to this mission. You shall bring an end to the senate truly.” The alien disappears before Mira rises.
The city of Corusant is on panic mode right now. Hosnian Prime was destroyed by the First Order, a threat they only saw as a small band of fanatics who still believed in the empire. Politicians have either suggested to surrender to them or fight them but it remains divided. It makes sleeping uneasy, especially how night is open for anything. Watching over the planet is another republic fleet. They pick up something on radar much to their fear.
“Sir, we’ve picked up a large mass of contacts breaching the Corusant alert zone!” He notified his superior causing him to notice it.
“Go to condition one emergency! Alert the fleet!” The superior replied. Another soldier turns to him.
“Sir, First Order ships emerging from hyper-space! Its an invasion!” Soon a swarm of TIE fighters fly towards them as they start firing at the fleet decreasing their shields at a dramatic rate.
“Sir, what do we do?!” The soldier asks as he looks at the incoming star destroyer in a humiliated face.
“.....Organa was right.” He is blasted away by an incoming fire. Flying towards the planet is an imperial shuttle drop-ship and flies among the TIE fighters. The citizens in the market are in panic as soldiers head out of their posts to open fire on them before the city suddenly goes dark. The lead soldier breathes in fear and looks around for a moment.....
Suddenly, they hear the shuttle land but they can’t see the lights. The crowd goes silent.....Suddenly, an orange lightsaber ignites and lights up the scene illuminating the place like a car with a mad driver behind it. Standing in front of them is Mira in her black cloak with mask resembling Rook Kast’s and visors glowing yellow in the dark. The soldier’s eyes widen in fear alongside his team.
“OPEN FIRE!” He ordered before Mira blocks the shots with the Knights of Ren following her. Mira uses the force to lift a soldier as the sharpshooter shoots him midair. She continues to block the shots and impales a soldier in the chest right before using the force take away their guns. A soldier aims a pistol at Mira’s head causing her to swing her saber at his stomach which slices him in half. Another fires his pistol at her but she uses the force to stop it then fires it back at him then force chokes one and slams him against a barrel of spices. A soldier continues firing at her but she simply decapitates him.
Mira breathes heavily as the crowd mutters in the dark before she raises her lightsaber to reveal their scared look on there faces. The Knights of Ren continue their way into the city as stormtroopers round up civilians with Mira passing by. A young boy smacks a stormtrooper’s gun off his hand causing the trooper to pull out his sidearm as Mira quickly notices causing her to slice his weapon in half.
“You won’t be killing civilians around me soldier. Stand down.” Mira ordered as the stormtrooper looks at her before holstering his weapon. She helps the boy and gives him a pat on the shoulder before walking away. They overlook the now the occupied city of Corusant as Mira breathes it in then takes off her helmet to take it all in.
Ezra watches the TV in horror alongside Rey, Ben and Luke. Corusant has fallen into First Order hands.....Luckily, the Resistance has moved to Lothal after what happened. The First Order is expecting an empty base. But that won’t save them for long. Rey looks in sadness at the screen at what her girlfriend had become....But can feel her pain and sadness. Luke can sense it so can Ezra too.....
“She’s still there. Deep down inside her. There is still hope.”Luke said to Ezra as he turns to him. He remembers Sabine....She tried her best to talk to Mira. But he knew it was an accident. He can sense the guilt within his daughter, how she blames herself for falling into a trap..
“I can talk to her.” Rey suggested causing Ezra and Luke to turn around.
“We were together once and I can talk to her.” She continued. Luke places his hands on Rey’s shoulders.
“Rey, I know how much you love her but she needs her father to talk to her. She believes she doesn’t deserve to be forgiven. This is her family’s matter.” Luke implored before Rey lets go and walks up to Ezra.
“Mr. Bridger please!” Rey pleaded. Ezra hangs his eyes and looks at Rey for a moment....He sighs.
“Fine, but stick with me though. Mira is dangerous as of now and she’ll probably anticipate our plan.”
Mira walks in the streets of the city and looks at the stores at night. People avoid her out of fear which is fine by her, she deserves to be alone after what she did. She can’t find forgiveness in herself. She doesn’t deserve it. Mira’s stomach grumbles causing her to turn to Dex’s diner. The Knights of Ren rookie feels a tap from behind her causing her to turn around to look down on a little boy, he appears to be homeless because of his rags. He reaches his hand out to her if she has anything.
She looks at him underneath her helmet so she checks her pocket and pulls out nine-hundred credits causing the boy to gasp in shock with Mira smiling. The boy takes it and runs off before Mira enters the diner. The patrons all turn to her in silence including Dex. Mira sighs then sits on a table and waits. A waitress droid arrives then hands her the menu.
“Thank you.” Mira thanked in her altered voice. She takes off her helmet revealing her face so she can read it clearly. Dex saw what she did outside so she gives the girl some slack. Unlike the other First Order members, she seems very human and not like a pompous jerk like the rest of them. Dex walks towards her.
“So what brings you here? First Order food ain’t good enough?” Dex asks.
“No, I was just hungry so I decided to find the nearest restaurant after a long day of patrolling for any criminals or insurrection against the supreme leader.” Mira explained.
“So you consider yourself a cop?” Dex replied.
“Funny, I was basically a cop before I ended up joining the Knights of Ren. First Order Rescue and Intelligence.” Mira explained with pride in her voice. Dex’s eyes widen.
“I heard about them. Specialize in hostage rescue, liberating places and even high risk missions. Best of the First Order.”
“And I was.” She added with a small smile.
“So what made you join the Knights of Ren? By the looks of things, you’re force sensitive cause of the lightsaber you’re carrying.” He asks again.
“......A long story that I don’t want to go into.” Mira said. A disheveled-looking man enters the diner as Mira reads his mind....He’s a drug dealer. He’s making a deal with a Rodian in a booth in front of her. Mira leans to Dex.
“The man in the booth in front of me is making a deal with the Rodian.” Mira whispered. Dex glares at them.
“You don’t say....” Dex growled and walks towards the two. The man looks at Dex.
“Yeah we’d like the-”
“My Knights of Ren friend over there told me you’re selling the good stuff. Look punk, this isn’t some backwater bar. Get out of here before I call the troopers.” Dex warned.
“Knights of Ren-Oh shit....” The Rodian cursed and looks at Mira. He looks back at Dex then her and back at Dex......The alien pulls out a blaster alongside his friend as he grabs Dex in a choke hold. Mira puts on her helmet then whips out her lightsaber. People in the diner panic as Mira gets up with the two scared.
“Sir, there are kids in the diner. Please don’t make me do this.” Mira warned. The man aims his DH-17 blaster pistol at Mira.....Before turning his attention to a child sitting in the counter. He then switches his aim to him but Mira uses the force to sway his arm and hit the menu board. The Rodian aims his blaster at Dex’s head. The two step out of the diner as Mira continues stand guard with her lightsaber in hand. She heads out with them.
“Back off! We’re not scared to off his sorry ass!” The Rodian warned. Mira looks back at the diner as the parents in there are covering their children’s eyes. She looks back at them as the people in the sidewalk watch in fear. Mira force pulls the Rodian’s accomplice’s gun which flies off as she walks up to him and punches him in the stomach. Dex elbows the Rodian’s stomach causing him to let go of him as he fires at Dex who avoids the shots with Mira pulling out her lightsaber again. He fires three shots at Mira, all of whom miss since she deflected most of them right before avoiding another shot to headbutt the Rodian in the face and tripping him. She aims her lightsaber at his neck as stormtroopers arrive at the scene. Mira deactivates her lightsaber and holsters it.
“MAMMA!” Mira quickly turns to see that the Rodian hit a mother who was defending her child. Rage pents up within her as the memories come back....Her mother on the ground dead by her own hands as an accident. How she fell to the dark side so easily.....
“.....HOLD HIM.” She ordered before the troopers force the Rodian up. Mira reactivates her lightsaber then kills him with a swift slice to the chest. Little does she know, Ezra and Rey are watching cloaked among the crowd of people.
Mira walks in the slums continuing her patrol once more after another nap. Most of the degenerates there are behaving well so that means good news. Unlike the other Knights of Ren who focus on meditation and all sorts of things like worshiping Vader or any dark side user. Last time she attended one of those rituals, she swore she met Darth Revan and Bane in a vision. She calls in a speeder taxi which arrives then enters it. The driver is beyond scared right now but she doesn’t care, she just wants to go home.
“Residential.” Mira explained before the driver flies off. The speeder rises and reveals the skylines of the city. Its like down there is hell and up here is heaven. Mira looks to the window to see the skywatch park where couples come there to see the view. She imagines herself with Rey, how their life could have been.....How it would have been so easy for her to join her. The speeder soon stops at the apartments with Mira getting out. It flies away with Mira still looking at the city. Her vision shifts to a clearer city as she can tell that someone is contacting her through the force.
“Its beautiful isn’t it?” Sabine asks her as she joins with Mira watching the city. Mira continues to watch.
“Yeah....It is.” Mira replied.
“That is all going to change when the First Order arrives.” She said as Mira looks down for a moment.
“I don’t want things to change....” The Mandolorian muttered.
“They already have Mira....You have made me so proud.” Sabine replied causing Mira to turn around in confusion since Sabine is proud of her.
“But I killed you....I killed Mira Wren Bridger also. How can you be proud of a person like me?” Mira asks her.
“Because I know deep down inside that you’re the girl Ezra and I raised despite us not being there. Like I said before, Rey told us about you. How you were different from the others. How you show compassion and care for the people of Nima outpost. How you save people when you were an agent. You’re still my little girl.” Sabine smiled. Mira’s eyes widen underneath her helmet then turn to understanding.
“I need you to forgive yourself, can you do that for me?” She asks with her face turning serious.
“I....I think I can....” Mira answered feeling the light within her. Sabine smiles again with her arms crossed.
“Remember Mira, without hope.....we have nothing.” Sabine places her hand on Mira’s face plate of her helmet and smiles before vanishing. Mira finds herself standing in front of the entrance.....A cloaked figure stands in front of her. The figure removes her cloak revealing herself to be Rey herself. She is wearing a short sleeved shirt and also pants.
“Rey....” Mira greeted.
“Mira....” The scavenger replied. Silence falls on the two.....
“You shouldn’t have come here.” Mira spoke as the two circle each other preparing for a fight.
“But I came....” Rey countered.
“They’ve sent you to kill me didn’t they?” The Mandolorian asks in an unsurprising.
“No....Your father and I came here to bring you back to the light.” Rey explained which surprised Mira for a moment. She is caught off guard now...Mira knows how Snoke works. He goes for the ones you love.
“Where is he?” Mira asks her.
“Here.” Ezra’s voice called causing her to turn to see Ezra walking out of the apartment. She is surrounded now....If she joins the light then Snoke will end up targeting her father and Rey at the same time. She wants to protect them. Mira sighs.....
“Then you both shouldn’t have come here.” Mira spoke before pulling out her lightsaber. Ezra and Rey respond by doing the same.
“Mira don’t make me us fight you! We all want to help!” Ezra pleaded.
“No, you all want me to be something I’m not!” Mira lied. She runs towards Ezra then swings her saber like an axe but Ezra blocks it. Mira swings her saber left and right before raising it as Ezra defends himself. Rey runs towards Mira who turns to her with her lightsaber raised and blocks her strike. The recoil pulls Rey as Mira swings her saber against Rey’s to push her back. Mira throws a punch at Rey who ducks as Mira swings her lightsaber too. Rey then blocks another strike from her as Mira raises her saber again then slams it causing Rey to drop her it.
Mira breathes heavily in exhaustion as she looks down on Rey. Little does she know, a man and his wife spot the fight in their speeder. He has an incendiary grenade as he was a former rebel during the war. He drives the speeder towards Rey, Ezra, and Mira.
“Honey don’t-”
“EAT THIS IMPERIAL SCUM!” The man throws the grenade at Mira which sets her on fire causing her to scream in horror. The fire burns MIra’s cloak off....revealing her armor underneath it. It resembles Rook Kast’s armor except black and also a little samurai-like. Mira gets up as the man’s eyes widen knowing he made a huge mistake.
“GET OUT OF THE SPEEDER AND ON THE GROUND NOW!” Mira roared before pulling out some handcuffs but Rey tackles her causing her to drop her saber. Mira force pulls her lightsaber towards her which she catches then runs towards Rey who reclaims hers as well. Ezra comes in between the two as he interrupts Mira which catches her off guard. She blocks everything Ezra throws at her but his swings are too fast for her to catch up. Ezra throws one last swing which knocks away her lightsaber. Mira runs towards where it landed so she can grab it but Ezra uses the force to take it away from her. She turns around towards Ezra.
“Mira stop this! I know you didn’t mean to kill your mother, you didn’t mean any of this to happen to anyone.” Ezra pleaded and walks towards her. Mira removes her helmet.
“I said its too late for me! I’m far too gone to the dark side!” Mira countered as she is close to pulling out her blaster on Ezra.
“No, you’re not. You’re being something you are not. We saw what you did.....and that is not what a dark sider nor a sith does. Sure you killed him but you saved lives....Wasn’t that your job once? Saving people?” Ezra asks her causing Mira to fall silent.....
“You care about the well being of others. If you were far too gone in the dark side then you wouldn’t have cared for them. My daughter is not dead, she’s far from dead.” He continued.
“We miss you Mira....I know you don’t know us well but we all are waiting for you. Everyone is.” Mira looks at Ezra for a moment....
“What do you mean everyone?”
“Your real family.” Ezra replied. Mira looks at her lightsaber for a moment then back at Ezra. He can sense the conflict within her.....She’s giving in to the light. Ezra places his grip on the lightsaber so he can take it. The Jedi holsters the weapon on his belt as Rey sighs in relief that Mira has come back to her. Mira takes off her helmet and smiles before Rey grabs her cheeks and kisses her then lets go. Ezra smiles at his daughter and future daughter in law, Sabine would be proud. He activates his coms.
“Spectre-1, this is spectre-5, we’ve got the package over.” Little does he know, the Knights of Ren sniper saw the whole thing from afar. Rage builds up in him as he saw Kylo Ren like a brother and now she betrays the Knights who trusted her for months?! He aims his rifle at Mira who is distracted with Rey. Ezra senses the sniper causing him to run towards Mira.
“Mira look out!” He pushes her out of the way as the sniper hits him in the shoulder then the chest. Mira gets up and looks in shock.
“NO!” Mira cried as she runs towards her father. She lifts him up as Ezra gasps for air and breathes heavily. He coughs in pain.
“No....Not you.....Dad please stay with me!” She pleaded knowing she lost her mother and she can’t loose her father.
“Mira....I’m so proud of you....” Ezra painfully muttered. He places his hand on hers.
“We.....Sabine....And I....Made a good kid....Phasma raised you well......” He smiled.
“Dad......” Mira tearfully spoke with her voice quaking.
“.....I am one with the force.....The force....Is with me....” Ezra closes his eyes and smiles before Mira could feel the life drain out of him. The ghost decloaks as the hatch opens to reveal Kanan and Zeb who’s eyes widen and runs towards Ezra’s lifeless body. Mira picks up her dead father and runs with Rey into the ghost before it cloaks again then flies.
Kanan felt it. He felt Ezra die. Ezra Bridger, his student and basically is son....Gone. First was Sabine and now him. Luckily his death wasn’t in vain at all. None of it was. With a sad smile, Kanan takes off his mask and places Ezra’s old lightsaber on his hand.
“.....You did good kid.” Kanan sadly complemented. What he doesn’t know is that Mira is watching him before heading off to the cockpit to sit with Zeb.
“It wasn’t your fault kid.” He sadly assured.
The Resistance gather around the pyre for Ezra Bridger. His ashes is to be with Sabine in Lothal where they would be beside each other in Ezra’s old home. Hera hasn’t spoken nor Kanan as the two watch in silence. Leia also and Han who was best friends with Ezra. Luke remembers the arguments they had when he signed in on his order and wonders if that’s the reason why it failed, how Ezra left his order because he wanted to fight and help people...
Watching beside them is Mira, Rey, and Ben. The two sense the pain within Mira since she has just lost her parents. Ben places his hand on Mira’s shoulder pad. Tears stream from Mira’s eyes as she grits her teeth before kneeling on the ground hanging her head in remorse in sadness.
Mira sits on her bed looking at her helmet while rest of her armor is on a mannequin. This was her former self....There was no difference though. Her past and former self had no differences, they were basically just different names. Mira Ren, agent Mira, FN-5678, or just Mira....but she knows what she is. She is Mira Wren Bridger, clan Wren and house Bridger. The door slides open to reveal Rey with some kind of chip.
“Hard to believe that you’re back to the light side now huh?” Rey spoke.
“Yeah....” Mira replied.
“Your father wanted to give this to you. I think its something important.I know its been a month but I think he would want you to have it.” She presents the chip as Mira takes it then installs it onto the computer. A holographic image pops up revealing a picture of Sabine taking a self Ezra smiles at the camera while holding a baby Mira. Rey smiles at the picture as Mira is silence.
“Happy Birthday Mira Wren Bridger.”

Episode 126 : None More Black
"These evil streets don't sleep..."
- Pharoahe
Here's an idea I've been holding for a while - an episode showcasing Hip-Hop tracks that took a rock sample or influence! I thought it'd be an interesting one to select and mix without reaching for the most obvious standby picks, and we've got tracks spanning almost thirty years at the extreme ends. Don't worry, the guitars come along with plenty of bars and beats!
Links for the month... Michelle Grace Hunder - wicked music photographer!
The Flyest Xmas party on Dec 20th, featuring The Soul Twins
Twitter : @airadam13
Playlist/Notes
Ice-T ft. Jello Biafra : Shut Up, Be Happy
One of those tracks that seems more relevant now than ever, this was the opener on Ice-T's underrated 1989 album "The Iceberg". A great marrying of elements, as Jello Biafra of the punk band Dead Kennedys delivers a totalitarian announcement (based on his own "Message From Our Sponsor" over a Black Sabbath loop. I couldn't put this anywhere but as the intro to the episode!
Camp Lo : 82 Afros
Kicking the pace up a touch, we move straight into a killer Camp Lo cut from the "Black Hollywood" LP, with Ski cooking up a banging rock-based beat. The kick and snare are straight boom-bap, but the toms add an unexpected extra element on top of the distorted guitar and vocal sample. Cheeba and Geechi might be known for their smooth styles, but this is just one demonstration of the fact that they can get busy over any kind of beat.
J-Zone : Moonwalk / Gel N' Weave Remix (Instrumental)
I was struggling to find just the right instrumental for this spot, but went back to "The Headband Years" to find this beat from a producer who could make a beat our of almost anything. He's full-time on his funk drumming now, but has a great catalogue of Hip-Hop that can't be fronted on.
Kobaine : Ko.Bain
This is an artist I know very little about, as as far as I'm aware this is his only release to date, a nice little contribution to the 2002 "Subway Series Vol.1" compilation on Major League Entertainment. I got this on digital release which had no credits included, so I'm not sure who produced it - I can imagine it being a Nick Wiz or Tribeca track though.
Agallah : Ag Season
Brownsville's Agallah has often channelled the rockstar vibes in his career, and this woozy-guitared track from "Bo : The Legend of the Water Dragon" sounds entirely natural for him. Self-produced as always, it's short, rock solid, and to the point.
Fabolous : Breathe
Fifteen years old, already? This was a huge single for Fabolous, taken from his "Real Talk" album, and is one of his best-known tracks even after all these years. Just Blaze laced him with a beat based around Supertramp's "Crime of the Century", and got a surprise when Fab told him he'd written his lyrics around the "breathe" vocal sample on the track...because that's not what it said! However, on hearing the bars, Just went back and made some changes to align the audio with what Fab thought he heard!
Ras Kass ft. Killah Priest : Milli Vanilli
Ras Kass' "Quarterly" was collection of tracks he released once a week, finally brought together in late 2009 - and there are some great cuts in there. Here's one, with Veterano's beat sounding like a cybernetic heavy metal group trying to destroy the speaker stack! Ras cuts through it regardless, and special guest Killah Priest (fellow member of THE HRSMN) matches him bar for bar as always. The hook of course channels the then-recent Lil Wayne track "A Milli", which was a heavily-used beat for freestyles around this time.
Body Count : C-Note
This was one of the shorter and gentler tracks on the debut Body Count album, but was always one of my favourites - Ernie C makes that guitar cry for real. Ice-T's metal project was waved off by some doubters in the beginning, but the music was solid from their first appearance on the "OG: Original Gangster" album and they're still killing it to this day.
Bumpy Knuckles : Swazzee
This one is so aggro, you have to love it. Seriously, you'd better. Bumpy Knuckles is in fine form on this guaranteed weight-training motivational track from "Konexion", taking out sucker MCs, snitches, haters, and pretty much everyone else. The hook is reminiscent of an old Sly Stone cut, and Knockout's beat is ferocious - precise, measured drums with the harsh guitar over the top. Bumpy might be the king of the third verse but a track like this lets you know he can handle the first two just fine!
Public Enemy : Go Cat Go
The "He Got Game" soundtrack was unfairly overlooked by too many heads, but is an absolutely worthy entry in Public Enemy's long and storied discography. Chuck D's political awareness and love of sports (he actually wanted to be a sportscaster at one point) combined for a really interesting listen. Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto and Danny Saber of Black Grape cover this one in heavy guitars which would drown out most MCs, but not Chuck! As the album subtitle says, this one is about the game behind the game...
Boogie Down Productions : Ya Slippin
It's hard to think now of BDP being a crew with a future in doubt, but this is how it was back in 1988 as "By All Means Necessary" was released, not long after the murder of founding DJ Scott La Rock. KRS might be young here but he rhymes with the confidence of someone who left home as a child to become an MC, survived homelessness, and achieved his goal. He scolds weak MCs like "The Teacha" he is, and gets down on the production too - the rock heads will recognise this guitar sample a mile off!
Pharoahe Monch : Got You
Shout out to Vicky T for reminding me of this tune! The lead single from the "Training Day" soundtrack is one where I think the radio version (as heard here) surpasses the original. Monch perfectly encapsulates the essence of Denzel Washington's character, who is one of the classic movie villains of modern times - and strikingly, is based on real police.
[J-Zone] Boss Hog Barbarians : Celph Destruction (Instrumental)
Zone again, and while it one didn't come to mind immediately, the aggressive sonics of this instrumental get it the nod here. The Boss Hog Barbarians (J-Zone and Celph Titled) album is an absolute tribute to ignorance (intentionally), but if you can deal with that then it's an excellent addition to your collection.
LL Cool J : Go Cut Creator Go
Another 80s classic hard rocking track, from LL's "Bigger And Deffer" album. It's the kind of track we don't get now - the MC just bigging up the DJ. DJ Cut Creator was with LL from the very beginning, and was the one who actually helped him to get him name known, so it's nice to hear the appreciation. The scratches still stand up today and cut through even the loudest of the guitar samples on the track!
Sly Boogy : Fatal Mistake
Sly may not have put anything out for a while, but the San Bernadino native did drop a few nice tracks in the early 2000s. This one has him totally disregarding the common standards of Hip-Hop song structure, opening up with a thirty-two bar first verse just to show he's not playing. DJ Revolution provides the cuts, and production is courtesy of a then-emerging Jake One. This actually doesn't have a rock influence, but is here because of how well it goes with the next instrumental...
[Rick Rubin] Jay-Z : 99 Problems (Instrumental)
The combination of this and "Fatal Mistake" is one I discovered while doing a mix years and years ago, and wanted to bring out again when the opportunity arose! You probably all know the vocal version of this track, which appeared on Jay-Z's "The Black Album". While working with the legendary Def Jam co-founder and producer Rubin, Jay said he wanted something like the flavour he used to give to the Beastie Boys and this was the result - a meshing of several ideas that came together perfectly.
Public Enemy : She Watch Channel Zero?!
Let's be real - the sexism is heavy on this track! It'd be entirely reasonable to argue that spending all day watching sports on TV isn't any better than soap operas, but that's just my opinion :) 1988's "...Nation of Millions..." yields this song which had an interesting connection - sampling the group Slayer, who were produced by Def Jam founder and major PE supporter Rick Rubin.
Lacuna Coil : The Game
Going pure rock on this selection from this veteran Milanese gothic metal band! I actually learned about this group from "Guitar Hero" of all places, and "Our Truth" led me to the 2006 "Karmacode" album that included this track. It always reminded me a little of "Channel Zero", and while the guitar riffs are definitely fire and the drums bang, it's the combined and contrasting vocals of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro that can't fail to grab your ear.
RJD2 : Exotic Talk
Prog rock meets Hip-Hop sensibilities as RJD2 twists and turns, chilling things out in parts before bringing the thunder crashing back in. Definite standout from 2004's "Since We Last Spoke".
Z-Trip : Rockstar
We close with a standout track from the "Return of the DJ, Volume II" compilation, with Phoenix's Z-Trip putting together a masterpiece of DJ/producer song construction. The sample list is long, and since I don't know what was and wasn't cleared, I won't give anything away here!
Please remember to support the artists you like! The purpose of putting the podcast out and providing the full tracklist is to try and give some light, so do use the songs on each episode as a starting point to search out more material. If you have Spotify in your country it's a great way to explore, but otherwise there's always Youtube and the like. Seeing your favourite artists live is the best way to put money in their pockets, and buy the vinyl/CDs/downloads of the stuff you like the most!
Check out this episode!

2 Different Endings
At the end, when you defeat Vader you can do 2 different endings. One is when you defeat the emperor and one is when you finish off Vader. This happens right when its the cut scene when you have to decide to save your friend or become partners with the emperor.
Hilts And Lightsaber Crystals
1> Raxus Prime It’s location is on the cliff overlooking the temple. The hilt will be on the wall on the opposite side of the glass panel on the cliff, hanging above and next to the small cave with hp inside of it. To get up there just force hold a piece of junk near it and use it to help you jump to the hilt. 2> Trial of Insight Once you enter the temple, where you can break the large statue, and defeat a certain amount of stormtroopers, look behind the fallen pillar to the west, you will find it lying on the ground. 3> Felucia The first time you visit Felucia. In the large area where you fight the two rancors there will be purple fungus on the wall next to the exit on the opposite side of the entrances to the fungus tunnels. To the right side of the entrance there will be a fungus making a ledge, on top of this ledge is one of the light saber hilts. 4> Nar Shaddaa It’s in one of the paths on an arch and you have to jump to get it 5> Kashyyyk Still need info on this one! 6> Dark Felucia Also the one that you get the second time you go to Felucia. After you’ve finished the bull rancor battle. 7> Imperial Raxus Prime It is on a ledge right above the entrance of the room where you fight the AT-ST. To get up there you destroy the computer counsels in front of the exit and two inactive AT-ST’s will self destruct. Jump onto the empty harness’s and jump into the trap door in the ceiling (there should also be a other items up there if you haven’t already collected them. ) and from up there walk down to where you first entered the room. You should be able to jump to the ledge from there. 8> Cloud City In the beginning there’s a ledge outside a window you can go onto the ledge and get a hilt I think it’s the second or third ledge 9> Death Star I think it’s after the first bridge where the Death Star fires it’s main gun. After you pass the bridge there are two doors that you have to use the force to open, one in front of you, and one to your left, it’s the one in front of you. Another one is on Cloud city, it’s around where the guys on jet-packs come, if you break some of the windows in that area, you can jump out onto a ledge where another one is.
Green Saber Crystal
When you go to the jedi temple for the last time when go inside, go to your right and turn around then you see it.
Lightsaber On Kashyyyk
It is where you fight the second at-st on Kashyyyk it is in one of the towers that you can knock down it is to the east of the door you walk through it will fall down when you knock it down.
