A movie, which I watched a number of times but each time I end it with new feelings, empathy for another character and a lot of pain in my heart. I really do not know why but I feel there's this really strong connection between me and this movie.
Tumblr media
Parvati (Paro)
"Guroor kaise hota, usme daag jo hai"
A beauty, someone who had to go through so much, but still felt to love him, even when everyone said no, even when her mind said no, she still listened to her heart and kept loving him, knowing the fact that they won't be together. Someone from whom I understood that, you can wait forever for your love.
Tumblr media
Devdas
"Bapuji ne kaha gaon chod do
Sab ne kaha Paro ko chod do
Paro ne kaha sharab chod do
Aj tumne keh diya haveli chod do
Ekdin aayega jab woh kahenge duniya hi chod do"
Paro wasn't his love, she was his life, his oxygen, his soil, his water, his each and every necessity to stay alive. And then came Chandramukhi, who helped him to get his oxygen while being with her. Somehow I felt a bit relieved when he died, because his life was way more painful and dreadful than death itself.
Tumblr media
Chandramukhi
"Jis aurat ki jagah mein kabhi na le paungi, uske charnon ki dhool le rahi hu"
A woman who lived a life, found a love, found her love's love, still loved him, and let her love go for his love. Just think what had gone through her, a person who loved his beloved knowing the fact that she is never going to get him for life. Someone who was ready to sell her everything, even her own soul just for him. Someone who lived a painful life happily.
I wrote so much about this movie is because this movie always helps me write about love, about my life, about the pains in one's life, all the dreadful situations one as to go through, in a sweet way.

it's impressive how they managed to write a nuanced relationship between the borgia brothers despite having small screentime together, and lately, i've been having a lot of thoughts about them because i love their rivalry. (jealousy and resentment on cesare's side; inferiority, aggression and frustration on juan's). it's extremely compelling that cesare was not only the one who decided juan's fate but also played a role in his downward spiral by slowly destroying him. like there's the whole situation with prince djem and how they wanted to get rid of him for lucrezia's dowry. cesare pettily denied juan micheletto's services and forced his hand into murder (something that cesare pretty much isn't against as we saw him enjoying poisoning and torturing without batting an eye) as some sort of a "lesson." murder was something juan wasn't quite familiar with, and he was shaken and panicking after smothering djem with a pillow. even after juan's triumphant return from spain as a changed man, having stopped drinking and visiting brothels, cesare remained upset and kept resenting him for simply being back. later on, cesare indirectly set juan up to die at forli by refusing to warn him about ludovico's army approaching, despite machiavelli suggesting that he should warn juan. once again, cesare mocked him for the failed siege, (as if he wasn't the one who essentially contributed to his failure without caring about the family's mission) because he cared more about humiliating juan, and juan was aware of cesare's wish to see him dead, which caused him to descend more into madness, experience depression, and develop an addiction. finally, cesare found an opportunity to murder juan, and he had no qualms about it because he wanted to take military control of the papacy and distance himself from the church.
their relationship truly gives me a lot of buzz! i'm genuinely surprised by how underrated they are as a duo ngl, because they have such great chemistry and the material surrounding them is just too good! you just know if their father hadn't made them feel so insecure about his love for them by pitting them against each other, they wouldn't have done stupid shit against each other for his approval.

I haven’t read Austen, so what does Robert do during their annus horribilis that is ‘Captain Wentworth’ like?
So Persuasion is probably my favourite Austen novel (a plot summary from Spark Notes here) and basically (spoilers)
1546/1547 is a garbage dumpster of years in the OT3 verse for a whole number of reasons but one thing that happens is that Robert and Elizabeth have a huge fight blow up* They both say some fairly awful things to each other and at a certain point they are living apart. And Robert, who has been trying to apologise and getting rebuffed is just…he’s spending time with a younger woman (I might make her up) and I want to be clear - nothing happens. They aren’t flirting (the young woman in question is very much in love with someone else), they aren’t ever alone or anything but he is hurting and he is trying to hurt Elizabeth/make her show she does care about him/hurt her because this is AWFUL.
*This happens for a variety of reasons - mostly like, Elizabeth getting in her head about whether Robert wants a more conventional wife/what if she doesn’t give him a son (still got that lingering trauma - just in a different form) and Robert getting in his head and the two of them being extremely uh, Tempesty.
