My newest poetry collection is published finally. It was kind of agonizing to get done in the end but I loved the process and am so pleased.

Hey Shirley by Crystal Charlotte Lynch
Hey Shirley.
It’s weird for me to call you that.
Hey Shirley
No sorry I mean grandma.
Grandma I miss you.
The long talks we used to have.
The infectious joy of
your laughter bellowing,
You were hilariously adorable
Full of wisdom
yet still innocently naive.
“Put on some action”
You used to say.
Hey Shirley what I’d give
to hear
Your humble voice again.
More than grandma
You were my friend.
Hey Shirley
I miss you lots
This world lacks
Your embrace
Can you see me up there?
Are you happy no longer in pain?
Hey grandma
I love you don’t you know
It Hasn't been the same
Hey Shirley
Why’d you have to go?

Wait a minute. So there’s a clear Roman numeral “II” in the logo but there’s also what looks similar to the yin and yang symbol in the D. So if this is a double album, what if THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT focuses on the dark, loss and finding the path to healing and the second album is focused on light and healing? Like you can’t discover love without some heartbreak?
