Hey
Do you like unhinged, angry women?
Do you like mad science?
Do you like the exquisite homoerotic tension of two Victorian ladies just barely brushing hands?
Do you think that Frankenstein would have gone a lot better if only Victor had been less of an absolute weenie?
Do you look at the story of the Loch Ness Monster and think “...but what if a dinosaur got in the lake”
THEN BOY, DO I HAVE THE BOOK FOR YOU!
Move over, chemists, it’s time for mad paleontologists to shine!
Years ago, Mary’s great uncle Victor Frankenstein mysteriously disappeared in the Arctic; now, in 1853, Mary and her reckless husband Henry are struggling to make a name for themselves as paleontologists in the old-boys'-club that is the world of Victorian science. But when Mary discovers her great-uncle's old notes, detailing his gruesome attempts at creating life, she comes up with a plan — one that will finally make them some money, prove Henry's radical paleontological theories right, and get Mary some of the respect she goddamn deserves...
Our Hideous Progeny is out NOW! Available wherever good books are sold, and also at your library if you yell (politely) at your local librarians to acquire it! 🖤💚🧡
Thanks all, byeee!

What's your favorite color combo?
Even though my favorite color is emerald green, the cohesion of the dust jackets and naked hardcover might just be my new favorite. I'm not generally a purple fan (my school colors from kindergarten through 12th grade were purple and white), but I love this!
The spoiler card art from the September box was sadly not included, but it should be in the October box (which is currently out for delivery as I type this at 9:15 am). I'll post it in my stories (on insta) when I've retrieved it after work.

Gotta love reading Victorian literature because it'll be a perfectly normal paragraph and then suddenly you're hit with "We were very gay and sociable," or "It was a very queer situation"

Queer Book Draw Challenge 8/20 The Gentleman's Book of Vices by Jess Everlee
[ID: an illustration of Miles and Charlie embracing colored in soft pinks and purples and blues. Charlie is perched on a desk, hand lifted to Miles' face as he leans in for a kiss. Miles is seated in the chair and leans in as well. One of Miles' hands is on Charlie's thigh and the other is gripped demandingly on his cravat, pulling him closer. From the desk, a pile of manuscript papers spills around them. End ID]

Are there any books that are mlm that have the same feel as Anthony and Kate from Bridgerton?
Or where the love interest is like Benedict Bridgerton?
And I don’t mean like Heartstopper or Young Royals type books.
I mean books that properly feel like Bridgerton books and have a real love story.
No hate to those shows of course.
Just want a Victorian/Regency mlm recommendation.
(basically, I’m crushing over the Bridgerton boys right now)

Thanks to Mandz for this delightful review of Oak King Holly King!
~
Excellent
A most enjoyable read. Fun worlds, fun characters, fun side plots. Hot in a delightfully Victorian, euphemistic way. A delightful tale of seeing what fate has dealt you and changing the rules to forge your own path.
~

Ok so Chapter 2 of Jekyll and Hyde Weekly, is it just me or do Utterson's misgivings about the will make it seem like Utterson is concerned about an...inappropriate relationship between them? There were several mentions of Hyde rising from Jekyll's bed. Queer Street for sure.

Hi all! Are you a) a US resident, and b) interested in potentially receiving a free book?
My first novel, Our Hideous Progeny, just came out this month!! It's a spin-off of Frankenstein, in which Victor's great niece Mary is a paleontologist struggling to make her name as a scientist in Victorian London - until she re-discovers her great-uncle's old notes, and decides to follow in his footsteps...
Basically, if you'd like to see Victor Frankenstein's feral sapphic great niece committing hot new paleontological crimes against God, this book may be for you.
My US publisher is currently hosting a giveaway through Goodreads; all you need to do is register on the Goodreads page before midnight PT on Tue, May 23 to potentially win one of 10 free copies.
Best of luck to y'all! ✨

What's a trope you find incredibly underrated?
I finished Don't Want You Like a Best Friend by Emma R. Alban and, no spoilers, but this book was everything! I absolutely love the hijinks Gwen and Beth come up with to get their parents together so they don't have to get married themselves. The parent trapping was ✨️immaculate✨️ and definitely an underrated trope. And getting dual POV made this so much more enjoyable!
Mixing my love of historical romance, queer discovery stories, and badass ladies, this was an absolute joy of a book.
The cast of characters was also great. Aside from the main duo, Albie was a stand-out to me. Same with Meredith. They were both so accepting of Gwen and Beth and probably realized they had a thing for each other before the girls did.
I can't say it enough, but I absolutely adored this book and cannot wait to read the sequel! Highly recommend for fans of authors Evie Dunmore and Manda Collins, as well as Bridgerton and the Parent Trap (obvi).
