Regulus stands at the drinks table with Barty as they are being pure Slytherins looking around with judging and cold looks. Neither of them wanted to come to said party, but Evan -who was currently participating in a round of beer pong- insisted they went.
His eyes travel the crowd and he spots them, making him narrow his eyes. He knew she was doing it to spite him, he knew even she hated Smith, but there she was, sticking her tongue down his throat.
"Ohh, she is playing with fire." Barty seemed to start enjoying the party the moment he followed Regulus gaze. "Shut the hell up." Regulus head snapped towards him and then his eyes traveled back to the girl and that stupid idiot she was kissing.
His hands where slowly starting to roam under her clothes and that's when he couldn't take it anymore and pushed himself of the table making his way towards them.
- 15 minutes earlier -
"They are absolute morons." Y/n shook her head as she watched Sirius and James jump of the table they'd just been dancing on. "Tell me about it." Remus rolled his eyes.
She took a sip of her drink as she watched the boys make their way over to them. "Oh, their coming pretend you don't know them." Peter said and they all quickly avoided eye contact with the two boys. "Oh haha, you're so funny." Sirius said sarcastically.
His eyes fell on Y/n and they narrowed. "Boring again, I see." He said as he eyed the glass with clear liquid in her hands. "But thinking about it, I could use some water," he took it out of her hands and a horrified expression formed on her face.
"Sirius no wait-" but she was to late and he took a sip and moments later spit it out, coughing. "Y/n, you absolutely menace to society." He said handing the glass back to her.
"Are you alright, pads?" James asked laughing. "I am, but she isn't, what psychopath just casually sips straight vodka." He grimaces and James' eyebrows race.
"What? It's good, you're all just over dramatic." She said taking another sip, making Peter chuckle a bit, as he himself had made that same mistake before.
They all looked up at the sound of the portrait swinging open and watched an excited Evan and annoyed Barty and Regulus walk into the common room.
Y/n rolled her eyes, and then they landed on someone and a smirk formed onto her face. "Y/n, no." Remus said and she looked at him. "What do you mean no?" She asked.
"Regulus just walked in and your wearing that smirk? Whatever your planning, no." He said and she rolled her eyes and giggled. "It's just a bit of fun." She said, standing up to leave the couch and pushing the glass into Sirius' hands.
"Here, you can have that." She says and he looks at it in disgust. "No thanks." And puts it down.
"Smith, hey." She greats the seeker and he turned to her. "Y/n, looking ravishing as always." He said with a shit eating grin as he looked her up and down and stopped at her chest.
She would slap him in the face if it wasn't for her plan just unfolding:
Make Regulus as jealous as possible.
"I can say the same about you." She said, her words slightly slurring. Smith took a step closer, snaking an arm around her waist. Everyone in Hogwarts who had a brain knew he had liked her since fourth year, which was one of the reasons Regulus despised him, but also the other way around.
Everyone in Hogwarts with a brain also knew Smith was an actual, selfish, prick. He had a reputation of cheating, one girl even claimed he had cornered her once, but no one knew if it was true, as she had a reputation of lying.
"I heard your single now." He grinned as he pulled her closer, his breath smelled like alcohol. "It was such a shame you where with... him." He sounded disgusted at the last words.
She let out a sarcastic laugh, starting to maybe regret her decision a little bit... but only a little.
"Well, that's over now... sooo." She trailed her finger passed his white button up. She looked up at him and he smashed his lips against hers, she pulled him closer, deepening the kiss.
Her eyes fluttered open to look around the room and they landed on Regulus who wasn't looking at her as his eyes traveled around the room, but she could see them slowly make their way over to them and she closed her eyes again as Smith tongue slipped into her mouth.
They broke apart for a moment before they kissed again and slowly his hands started to travel, one slipping into her skirt and the other under her top.
His lips detached from hers and made their way to her neck and then he whispered in her ears. "Seeing such a beautiful girl like you with a Slytherin. Tsk, I'll show you what it's like to be with a real guy." He whispered before going back to kissing her neck and his hand suddenly slipped into her panty's.
She was taken by surprise but before she could do anything about it, someone else did.
Regulus had made his way trough the crowd, pushing people aside and watching as Smith went further into her skirt and kissing her neck, it made his blood boil.
"Back the fuck off." He said and Smith looked up and grinned, taking his hand out of her skirt, and Regulus almost thought she looked relieved.
They made eyes contact and he narrowed his eyes at her. "What do you want." She said, obviously with alcohol in her system. "Indeed, what do you want?" Smith asked as he put and arm around her waste and his finger tips rested under the band of her skirt.
"I want you, to get your filthy hands of her." Regulus said with a threatening tone. "And why would I do that? Such a pretty girl, and she isn't yours anymore? I wouldn't even have cared is she still was, I had plans anyway." He laughed dryly and Y/n looked rather horrified as she questioned if that would have been against her will.
"Leave her alone." Regulus demanded and Smith smirked. "And why would I do that, she seemed to be rather enjoying me."
Suddenly, Y/n started to really regret her decision, and grabbed his wrist to stop him from going any further. "What is it baby, you don't like it?" He asked and she sighed and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Stop, I want you to stop." She told him and he huffed. "You don't tell me when to stop." He said and pulled the hand on his wrist away with his other hand.
She knew she had gotten herself in this situation, it was her own fault, but now she really wanted to get out. Suddenly he let go of her and Y/n hadn't processed the sickening crack.
Regulus had punched him right in the nose and blood was rapidly streaming out. His grey eyes fell on Y/n who stared shocked.
He grabbed her arm and then dragged her out of the common room and eventually stopped in a hallway.
"What is wrong with you?" He asked angrily. "Do you know how much worse that could have been?" He asked, he was furious as he turned his back to her.
"Honestly, Y/n that was such a stupid move! And for what? Making me jealous? Well it worked, happy now?" He turned to her as he yelled, but stopped as he watched her.
Her hands where shaking and tears streamed down her face. His features softened as he walked towards her and took her hands in his, placing a soft kiss on each of them.
"It's alright." He whispered to her and she shook her head. "No, no it's not, I'm so sorry, it was a stupid move. I didn't think it trough." She said as more tears streamed down her face and she sniffed as her nose was now full and starting to run.
He wiped away the tears with his sleeve and kissed her on the forehead. "It's alright, Ma Cherie." He whispered as he hugged her. "Come, you need to get some sleep." He said and then led her over to the Slytherin dorms.
She was sitting on his bed as Regulus took a T-shirt and sweatpants out of his closet. He hands rested on her top and then looked at her. "May I help you here?" He asked and she nodded.
"Use your words, darling." He said softly, he always requested she used words when asking for her permission to do things like this, as he didn't want her to regret later.
"Yes." She croaked out and he slowly lifted it over her head and helped her pull the clean shirt over her head. He did the same with the pants and then tucked her into his bed.
He changed out of his clothes to, and joined her, pulling her into him and kissing her forehead. "I love you, my little dove." He said and she murmured something along the lines of "I love you too." Back before falling asleep.

Platonic Kissing (Jegulus's Version)
I got a request for a Jegulus version of this microfic so here you go!
She'd threatened to do it, but he hadn't believed her. He really should have known better than to underestimate Pandora Rosier. Because now, in the middle of a party, he was having a full-blown panic attack.
"Kiss Reggie," she'd dared James Potter, eyes wide and innocent.
And Regulus wanted to kill her.
Because now, Sirius was gagging and Barty and Evan were cat-calling, and James was shrugging like it was no-big-fucking-deal, and Regulus was seeing his entire life flash behind his eyes.
"They're friends! Friends kiss on dares!" Pandora threw at the still-gagging Sirius, rolling her eyes and winking at Regulus, but Regulus was far too distracted to care about his brother's antics.
Because how was he supposed to pretend he hated Potter while he was kissing him?
And Potter was so infuriatingly cool about it. He moved in front of Regulus slowly, like he did this every day, meanwhile Regulus felt like he was going to burst.
You can do this, he thought, trying to calm himself. Friends can kiss. This will be...friend-kissing. Nothing more.
So when James leaned forward and Regulus's breath caught in his throat, he tried desperately to stay collected. To not react at all when their lips touched. Even though the slight pressure of those soft, smooth, kissable lips on his was sending sparks through his brain and down his spine. Even though he wanted to groan with the contact.
He refused to move. Friends didn't react when they kissed, after all. They...just kissed and were done. Right?
So why was James still there? Why was he pulling Regulus closer? Why was he- he was- oh, fuck.
He was sure it was James who opened his mouth first, and yet he followed suit almost instantly, allowing their tongues to swirl together.
He wants to put on a show, Regulus thought to himself. Friends...friends can joke like this.
Meanwhile, his entire chest hurt with the effort of not snaking his arms around James's neck. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides and he was very proud of himself for staying so composed, if he did say so himself.
But then James's fingers tugged just slightly at Regulus's hair, fingers laced in dark locks, and his resolve cracked so quickly and completely it was like a bomb went off.
His arms found themselves around James's neck, pulling him closer, closer, closer, lips moving into hot, open-mouthed kisses that were distinctly not friendly and not appropriate for an audience. And James was half in his lap at this point, his other hand coming to rest at Regulus's waist, squeezing in a way that made his stomach flip-flip.
It was Sirius's throat-clearing that made them jump apart, of course. And Regulus's resolve reappeared quickly, his head reeling. Did James often kiss people like that? Did he kiss his friends like that? Did- oh, Merlin- did he kiss Sirius like that?
But as he looked up at James, who was pink-cheeked and grinning, he thought that maybe James didn't kiss his friends like that.
"S'my turn," James murmured, making Regulus raise his eyebrows in confusion. "Reg...I dare you to go on a date with me."
He rolled his eyes and shoved James playfully, but he couldn't hide his smile, no matter how hard he tried.

@jegulus-microfic / february 21: attack / word count: 641 cw: slight nsfw
The moment Sirius hears a stressed Regulus on the other end of the phone, he knows something is wrong. His usually cool and calm younger brother has almost given him a heart attack by asking him, in a tense and overwhelmed voice he has rarely heard before, to get to the hospital as soon as possible, along with the insistent sound of an ambulance siren. When he tries to get more details, he just tells him that he'll explain everything when he gets there and that everything's fine. Oh, and to bring Remus with him.
As he explains the situation to Moony, who has been looking at him expectantly throughout the phone conversation, worry creeps into his face.
"Let's go now, I'll drive," is all Remus says as he gets up and grabs his keys.
As soon as they pull into the hospital's car park, Remus's phone rings with a message notification, which he pauses to read for a moment. The cackle of laughter he emits leaves Sirius completely baffled.
"What's going on?" Sirius tries to ask, but the taller one has trouble controlling his breathing in the middle of a fit of giggles. "Remus Lupin, my baby brother could be dying in there and you're laughing your ass off in here?"
"Trust me, he's not the one who's going to die!" he replies, when he manages to regain some composure.
"What do you mean?"
"My love, I need you to stay calm, okay?" the taller one asks, grabbing him by the shoulders. "I can assure you Regulus is fine, I promise, but I'm going to let him explain to you the reason we're here."
"He told you and not me?" Remus simply nods.
"Are our parents hospitalised?"
"I wish, but no."
After another failed attempt to get more information, they both meet Regulus in the waiting room.
"James Potter's family?" a nurse asks before Sirius can even ask what's going on. "He's stable now, you can come in and see him."
James?
Still disoriented and once inside the hospital ward, Sirius can name four things he doesn't quite understand. The first is why James and Regulus (who seem to hate each other) are here together, the second is why everyone except Remus, who looks rather amused, is avoiding eye contact, the third is why his best friend is wearing a neck brace, and the fourth is why his younger brother, who knows nothing about soccer, seems to be wearing a rather familiar Arsenal jersey that barely covers the bruises on his neck. Wait, bruises?
"If someone doesn't explain to me what's going on in the next five seconds, I'm going to commit arson."
"I broke James' neck," says Regulus, while at the same time James exclaims, "I fell down the stairs. Remus laughs and Sirius finally understands what's going on.
"Enough! I see what's happening. Guys, I told you not to fight over me, you both have my affection eq—"
"I sat on his face, broke his neck and he passed out." Regulus interrupts.
The room falls silent.
"Why didn't you stop him, James?"
"Sirius..."
"It was an accident, right?" asks Sirius looking at them all, "Right, Prongs?"
"We've been together for four months."
"'You brotherfuck—"
And Sirius lunges at James attempting to throttle him.
And the thing is, he's happy for them, he really is, but he's angry that the two bastards made him believe all this time that they hated each other, so he had to keep making separate plans to prevent them from killing each other.
For all the weeks James has to wear the neck brace, Sirius avoids eye contact with him so he won't remember why he has to wear it. This proves to be difficult as his best friend in the world tells everyone about the reason as if it were some heroic feat.

@jegulus-microfic // february 6 // prompt: murder // words: 1,172 // cw: implied/referenced sexual content // part 2 + part 3
“You’re so fucking infuriating!” James calls out as Regulus makes his way out of the bathroom. He runs a frustrated hand through is hair and tries to slam the door behind him, but James catches it before he can.
“Oh, I’m infuriating?” Regulus asks over his shoulder. “Have you looked in the mirror lately?”
“Baby, we both know you do enough looking for the both of us.” Regulus doesn’t need to look at James now to know he has a cocky smirk tugging at his lips, voice smug and pleased.
“Don’t call me baby. And don’t think I like what I see when I look at you.” Regulus rounds another corner, moving further away from the party as he heads toward the stairs. He hates that he still know the house like the back of his hand, even though it’s been months since he’s been here.
He knew he shouldn’t have come but Sirius had asked and Regulus bends easy if his brother is the one pushing.
“Ah, you wound me.” James comes to a stop right in front of him, a hand pressed to his chest in mock hurt. “Besides, I find that a little hard to believe when I only had to smile for you to drop to your knees in the bathroom.”
“A moment of weakness, clearly,” Regulus says as he pushes past James and makes his way up the staircase. He’s not sure where he’s trying to go except away from James. James and his pretty smile and messy hair and hazy eyes that track his movements with a hunger.
And it had been a moment of weakness. A party and one drink too many and James’ eyes lingering on the strip of skin between the hem of Regulus’ shirt and his belt. At the ink peeking out above his jeans, a pattern James was all too familiar with. A brush of fingers against his lower back that had Regulus shivering even in the sultry heat of the room. All it took was a tilt of his head and a smile and Regulus was following James down the hall.
James snorts, short and derivative. “Clearly.”
It does nothing to make him less attractive.
“Like I said, infuriating!” Regulus yells as he stomps up the stairs. He’s not even aware that he is walking toward James’ bedroom. “You and your— your—”
“Me and my?”
Regulus comes to a stop in front of James’ bedroom door. He turns to face him and ignores the thrill in his stomach when he realizes how close they’re standing. He has to tilt his face up just the tiniest bit to make eye contact. Tries to force himself to do it, but his eyes drop down to James’ lips unintentionally.
“You and your Jamesness!”
“Good one,” James huffs. He takes another half-step closer, crowding Regulus against the door. “You really got me there.”
“Oh, I am going to murder you,” Regulus hisses between his teeth. He tries to take another step back, but the door handle digs into his lower back. Cornered. James' hand comes up to rest beside his head and Regulus has nowhere to go when James leans down to murmur into his ear.
“Please make it romantic, at least.” James' breath rustles his curls and Regulus fights not to shiver. There is a hint of beer on his breath and usually, Regulus hates it. But he has learned that he can’t quite manage to hate anything that comes from James Potter.
Instead of doing something embarrassing like leaning up and crushing their mouths together, he grits his teeth and jabs a finger into James’ chest. Desperate to put some distance between them but even more desperate to keep him close.
“I am going to throttle you—” he grounds out, jabbing James’ chest again for emphasis.
“I always did love your hands around my throat.”
“—and I am going to draw and quarter you—” Jab.
“Yeah? You gonna tie me up real nice?”
“—and I am going to set your remains on fucking fire.” Jab.
“No need, you get me hot all on your own.”
James’ free hand comes up to cover Regulus’ before he has the chance to withdraw. He presses it flat against his chest before lifting his hand to Regulus’ face.
“I swear, James Potter, if you put that hand on me, I'm going to get violent."
But the threat is empty. They always are. Because James’ knuckles caress Regulus’ cheek and it takes all his strength to not lean into the touch. James knows it too.
"Oh love,” he murmurs, voice low and a little rough. Something Regulus recognizes but refuses to name. “You usually like it when I put my hands on you.”
And at this point, all bets are off because James is looking at him like he knows.
Like he knows that Regulus spends long nights staring at his ceiling because sleep doesn’t come easy if he’s not in James’ arms. Like he knows that Regulus still buys the coffee James prefers because the smell lingers in the apartment and makes it feel a little less like a haunted house. Like he knows that Regulus hasn’t been on a single date in the months since their break up. Like he knows that Regulus never finished that show they started watching together. Like he knows that regret coats the back of Regulus' throat like bile every time he talks about it.
Like he knows that Regulus is still in love.
Like maybe he feels the same way.
Regulus shifts the hand that’s still resting on James’ chest to the back of his neck and yanks him down, pressing their lips together in a kiss. It’s wet and messy and desperate from the beginning, a moan spilling between when James realizes he can still taste himself on Regulus’ tongue.
James moves impossibly closer, both hands moving to cup Regulus’ face. Regulus wishes they were closer still, wishes he could stay like this forever, because he thinks it’s where he belongs; with James. Always with James.
Lips slick and eyes lidded when they pull apart to breathe, Regulus faintly registers that party is still going on downstairs. Music playing in the distance, a cheer erupting at an unknown achievement, but neither of them feel inclined to return. Regulus tilts his head back for better access when James starts trailing wet a path down the column of his throat, humming at the taste.
“This is probably a bad idea,” Regulus manages between ragged breaths. The last thing he wants to do is stop, but plausible deniability and all that.
“I think you’re a little too faded to drive,” James says, punched out and breathless, the words pressed into the line of Regulus’ jaw as he works his way back up to his mouth. Regulus’ hands clench in James’ hair, earning him a hiss. “Maybe you should stay the night.”
Regulus doesn’t get the chance to agree, too busy stumbling through the now-open door all the way into James’ bed.

iva hello…. jealous james AND reg but get thissss they’re playing a game of chicken to see who gives in first.
james is flirting with frank and regulus is sitting on bartys lap at some house party. i just know they have hate sex after
(the way evan would be seething lmao)
sisi WOW… ur mind im kissing it rn.
they’re keeping aggressive eye contact while they’re doing it too. like regulus is running a hand through barty’s hair, planting a kiss on the side of his lips and watching james tense before he's laughing harder at frank's jokes and grabbing his bicep. they’re both so stubborn that reg has his tongue half down barty’s throat before james has his wrist in a vice grip and is pulling him off barty's lap, hard. reg stumbles off and starts to curse him out but he quickly snaps his mouth shut when he sees james—because he's fucking fuming.
Its a harsh, "why do you always have to push my fucking buttons, hm?" while james is pushing regulus into a random linen closet. He's bending him over his knee and telling reg, "if you're gonna act like a brat then i'm gonna treat you like one," before he's spanking him until his ass is mottled red and starting to purple. james is shoving a spare hand towel in between reg's teeth to muffle his moans before fucking him against the shelves. he only takes the towel out of reg's mouth so he can hear his breathy, "you, 'm yours," when james asks him who he belongs to

Newer fans of Harry Potter who hate snape are like
“He’s blood supremacist and racist AND sexist and just a bully and a terrible person”
And then be like
“Stan James” “I love Regulus and he’s the best most helpful character.
We never actually see James grow from being a bully, we just see that snape lost contact with him in adulthood.
We know absolutely nothing about Regulus except he’s Sirius’s brother, he betrayed Voldemort AND HE ACTUALLY MADE IT HARDER FOR HARRY TO FIND THE HORCRUX
Also the fact that Snape’s backstory is often given to regulus for depth.
Snape had the illusion of choice. Snape haters aren’t ready to face the fact that Regulus could have gone to Sirius for help if he didn’t want to join the Death Eaters. Sirius BEGGED Regulus to join him. Lily’s family would not have taken Snape long term.

"just james"
@jegulus-microfic / day 15: glasses / 193 words
Some people could say that glasses are unattractive. Others would call people with glasses names like “four eyes” or “nerd” and other names. Even people with glasses hate wearing glasses. But Regulus was not like some people, or others.
Regulus loved glasses, and better yet he loved the face they resided on. He hoped James would never get contacts, because Regulus loved the way James’ wiry round framed glasses looked on his beautiful face.
Sometimes, he would daydream about his glasses coming askew from kissing him. His hands would slide up on his face, just slightly coming up under the frames in a way that would push them off his face and he’d be able to see his brown eyes with no glass in his way.
Those beautiful brown eyes of his, the ones that turn almost golden in the sunlight but a rich shade of chocolate brown in the dark. The eyes that hold all the smiles and sunshine you could ever want or need. It was safe to say that Regulus was a little obsessed with his eyes. And his glasses. And just James in general, if Regulus was being honest.
some reggie pov for you!! -a.s.

Pairing: Wolfstar x Reader Word Count: 4.3K Warnings: none Prompt: You meet Sirius and Regulus at a family vacation in the Caribbean, but things don't go as planned and you end up losing contact once the trip is over. Years later your family moves to England and you get accepted at Hogwarts where you finally meet Sirius once again, along with all of his friends. One of them with a mysterious secret, that you'll uncover as you embark on your own Hogwarts adventure.

Chapter 1: Summer Breeze
2 years ago - Summer 1974
Every summer holiday, your parents would take you on some elaborate vacation to a different place. This summer was no different from that, except that they’d contacted some of their old friends in England to plan a trip together. Your father was set on making you more fluent in English and had the brilliant idea to force you onto making some English friends.
While you weren’t too excited about spending your summer with a pure-blood family, since your mom had not-wizarding grandparents, you decided you were not going to be a snob and actually try to make some friends. Your parents never told you that the Blacks didn’t know about your mom’s ancestry though, especially after your great-grandmother made a huge effort to hide that side of the family when the racist stuff started getting worse. It wasn’t a secret to you, only to the rest of the world.
“Are you ready sweetheart?” Your mom asked, looking stunning in her white beach dress.
You closed your suitcase and nodded, walking towards her and your dad in the centre of your living room. You stood in a circle and in the blink of an eye apparated in a completely different place. You were in the middle of a giant Lobby, looking straight toward the front desk. It was an open space, there were fountains in the centre and large logs of wood holding a stunning ceiling with floating balls of some wood-like fibre, you could hear the waves crashing onto the shore somewhere in the distance. It looked elegant yet rustic at the same time. On the side of the Lobby, a metal plate spelled
Mayan Occultum Hotel  The #1 Hotel for Witches and Wizards in the Caribbean:  Costa Maya
Followed by 5 shining golden stars that spun  around every couple of seconds. Your father had his head up and looked around to try and find his old friends.
Sirius had been dragged to this. While to anyone a vacation in the Caribbean might sound like a dream, to him it was no other than an absolute nightmare, not because he disliked the beach, in fact, he quite fancied the idea of spending some time relaxing under the sun after the finals, the issue here was that he wasn’t going with his friends, no James, No Mooney, no Wormtail. No, he was on a FAMILY vacation, which meant he’d have to spend like 2 weeks locked up in a hotel in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of people that hated him. He threw in as many muggle-like clothing items he’d gotten from Andromeda into his suitcase, just to spite his parents and hopefully keep the other wizard family, the one that had the brilliant idea to invite his family to the hotel to come along with them, at bay. He was not interested in making new friends, he was not interested in talking to any that were of his parents at all. After all, they probably would be no other than a bunch of Slytherin snobs.
By the time his mother called him down to the chimney to travel through the floo network, he’d even made sure to add in a pair of Doc Martens to his suitcase, the most punk thing he had gotten his hands on thus far, all thanks to Moony who’d showed him how to order things from a catalogue. He was wearing a leather jacket, ripped black jeans and a pair of Converse shoes, not a very beachy outfit, was it?
When his mom saw him she almost ordered him to go back upstairs to change but Orion said they were late and basically pushed Sirius onto the chimney. He was the first to arrive, Regulus was next, with a very suitable wizard attire, his parents had come soon after.
Once your dad spotted Orion among the crowds he went straight to greet him, your mom followed alongside him and you lagged behind just a bit.
“It’s wonderful to see you again, Orion, you look as dashing as the last time we met,” your father said.
Orion chuckled lightly “I could say the same about you Silas! This must be Avis,” he said as he turned into your mother “I remember as if it was yesterday when you wrote me that you’d found the love of your life.”
Now it was your father who chucked “Walburga,” He nodded towards her, she set her hand out and he gave a courteous kiss. Had they forgotten to tell you were meeting royalty or something? Your parents were rarely this formal with his friends.
Regardless of the odd formalities, you stayed behind them as they caught up, “These are my children,” Orion said pushing forwards two boys, one dressed as a wizard and one with very muggle-like clothes, “This is Sirius,” He pointed at the taller boy, “and this is Regulus,” he said pointing at the smaller one.
Up until then Sirius had maintained a disagreeable face but had been polite enough to your parents so as not to seem like an ass, at least they weren’t overly dressed, they looked like a normal family on vacation, not like they were going to the queen’s wedding at the beach. But his expression changed when your mom moved to the side and he saw you for the first time.
“This is my daughter, (Y/N),” Your father said, placing a hand on your back and pushing you just slightly forward.
“You’ve got yourself a beautiful young lady, Silas, why have you been hiding her behind you?”
“Our (Y/N) is a bit shy,” Your mom excused.
“Just like our son,” Walburga said as she placed a hand on Regulus’ shoulder, with a huge suspicious smile growing on her face. You would’ve taken a step back had it not been for your father’s hand still on your back, Sirius noticed. He’d straightened his back right after you appeared in his field of view, he almost felt self-conscious, of his outfit (probably because of how hot it was), of his hair, he hated feeling that way, but there was something about you, he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Curiosity, it had to be that. He was curious about you.
You responded with an awkward smile, by then your father was already pulling Orion toward the front desk to check in.
“So (Y/N), What year are you in?” Walburga asked, you couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she was, in a dangerous sort of way, sharp features, a smile that even if it looked kind, hid something behind it. Like a mermaid luring you in before she drowns you, you thought.
“I’m starting my 4th,” You replied politely, trying to hide how intimidated you felt while talking to her.
“Oh,” she said, sounding almost a little disappointed “Like Sirius.” Had she said her child’s name with disdain or was it just your imagination? Perhaps it had something to do with the way the boy dressed.
“I’m sure they’ll become great friends,” your mom said looking at you, then at Sirius and then back at you.
Walburga nodded but did not look very happy with the idea of you making friends with her older son. Regardless, you’d been interested in talking to the boy the moment you spotted him from the distance, he looked like the vocalist of a rock band. If it had not been for the fact that your parents introduced you to him, you might have lived on assuming he was some sort of celebrity.
In the midst of the awkward silence your father and Orion came back. Your father smiled towards you, almost apologetically “Sweetheart there is an event for couples on the other side of the hotel, Orion and I thought it would be good to spend some time there to catch up, would you mind exploring the rest of the hotel with the boys?”
Well, there goes your family vacation, makes sense after all, your father had been looking for an excuse to move back to England for a while, maybe he’d talk to Orion about the ministry jobs available, Orion did have the politician look going for him. You forced a smile “Not at all Dad, it’ll be fantastic to get to know them,” you hoped that did not come out as ironic as you meant it. Although Sirius' snicker from behind gave you the impression it was not like that.
Your dad handed you and the boys a map each “We’ve enhanced them, that way we can always find you.”
Your smile only tightened but you kept it until they were out of sight. Once you made sure they were far enough you pulled your wand out and murmured “incendio,” causing your map to slowly burn itself, you let it drop once the fire was too close to your hand.
“Did you just use magic? Aren’t you 14?” Regulus asked with a frown.
You turned to him with a smile “There are many qualified wizards around us,” you responded opening your arms to gesture at the amount of people surrounding you “Besides, this hotel is part of the Occultum line, anyone that has studied at least until year 2 is permitted to use magic–” After hearing this words Sirius used incendio to burn his map as well, you raised your eyebrows towards him and then continued “–that’s why my parents picked it, they wanted me to spend some time practising spells for the next year.”
Regulus only settled his map on a nearby suitcase that was soon sent flying away, presumably towards its own room, proving how unnecessary the magic you’d both used had been “I heard there was an orchestra at noon, maybe we can go there?” He suggested.
“Sure, I guess…” You said before grabbing a pamphlet that mentioned all the activities the hotel had going on that day, but one seemed a tad more interesting “What about his one tho?” You said pointing at something written on the paper.
“A muggle movie screening?” Regulus asked with a grimace, Sirius, on the other hand, seemed a lot more interested in it.
“Let’s do that! Sounds fun!” Sirius decided, took the pamphlet from your hands in an action that would’ve been rude had he not done it with such grace, and started walking towards the direction the pamphlet indicated.
“Not sure Mom and Dad would like that,” Regulus argued as the two of you followed, lagging behind Sirius only slightly.
“Of course, they wouldn’t,” You agreed with him, but caught up with Sirius soon after “Regardless, dear Reg, is not like they’re going to know, we all got rid of our maps.”
His frown didn’t leave his face even after he caught up with you, walking by your side, instead of his brother’s. Weird, you thought.
“And don’t even think about telling dear mommy and daddy about it Reggie!” Sirius warned.
Regulus didn’t fancy how quick you’d gotten comfortable with giving him a nickname, regardless he decided to go with it, it was probably better to stick to Sirius to make sure he didn’t cause some mischief that would have the three of you grounded for the rest of the summer, or your lives, whichever came first.
The three of you arrived at the “cinema” area quickly enough. “Well, even if the movie is bad, the experience will be authentic.”
“You’ve been to a cinema?” Asked Sirius impressed.
“Last summer while I was in New York,” you explained, “very similar to this one, ‘bit more run down.”
“And your parents allowed you?” Asked Regulus, almost judging.
“Perhaps they would’ve If they’d known,” you replied with a mischievous smile.
The three of you walked to the stall and asked the lady attending to give you 1 large bowl of popcorn and three butter beers. The lady grabbed a large bucket and threw some kernels inside it, followed by a block of butter and a sprinkle of salt, she then murmured “calidium.” Hot air started coming from her wand, heating the kernels and having them pop in front of your eyes.
You leaned in closer to Regulus and whispered “They didn’t have that in the cinema I went to.”
The lady continued with her task and started serving the butter beers when Sirius decided to speak up.
“What’s the sorting hat popcorn?”
“You spin the thing, and a block of candy will come out, we add that to the corn before popping and when it does, it becomes sweetened popcorn with the colour of your house, it’s inspired by the Hogwarts sorting hat,” She explained.
He nudged you, “You should try it, see which house you’d be in if you studied with us,” He said with a smile.
“That’s ridiculous, random candy cannot be as wise as the sorting hat,” Regulus complained.
You shrugged “Seems like a fun deal,” You said, walking towards the fun-looking machine and spinning the wheel. A dark block of candy came out and you handed it to the lady. After she performed the same spell as last time, minus the salt, the popcorn started to pop, turning into different shades of grey, gold, green and silver. You turned to the boys “Which house is that?”
“Seems like you’re in between,” the lady replied. “The popcorn is not as accurate as the sorting hat I’m afraid.”
“In between what?”
“Slytherin–“ started Regulus.
“–And Gryffindor.“ finished Sirius, the air seemed to tense up in that minute and you just had to do something, so you threw your fist inside the bucket and grabbed a couple of them, popping them in your mouth.
“Who cares? I highly doubt I’ll ever be in Hogwarts anyway,” You said as you grabbed one of the buckets and your mug of butter beer. “Can I also have some of those?” You said pointing toward the every flavour beans, the lady nodded and handed you a box.
“The movie starts in 15 minutes,” said Regulus after looking at the time in the giant magical clock.
“Excuse me, what’s a magic projection?” You asked the clerk near the door.
“It’s the movie, but with special magical effects, like things that come out of the screen and several other effects, it’s immersive,” he explained and you nodded, definitely not like the muggle cinema you’d been to before.
“I didn’t know such a thing existed.”
“It’s a program in development, a very talented new-maj called Drey started bewitching films just 2 years ago, they became very popular in the industry, and this is one of her newest projects.”
Before Regulus could open his mouth Sirius spoke “That sounds fantastic! Can we walk in already?” He asked with the most charming smile you had ever seen and after the clerk nodded he dragged you both inside.
“I’m still not fascinated by this idea,” Regulus complained.
“Don’t be such a party popper Reg,” You said, throwing a popcorn at him. He brushed it off his coat and started looking at the ads on the screen.
You then threw one in the air and caught it with your mouth, it’s something you’d seen muggles do in the theatre you had been to last year.
“Shoot one,” Sirius said, you shot a popcorn and he’d easily caught it, he then winked and motioned for you to send another one. You did, but the third time you grabbed an every flavour bean instead, he also caught it and bit on it with ease, grimacing right after.
“Treason!” He said after forcing it to go down his throat “I demand her head!” he added while exaggerating his expressions in a very Alice in WonderLand Queen of Hearts-like attitude, then he relaxed again “That was awful, and no warning either!” You just laughed in return, “no wonder the popcorn wanted you in Slytherin” he said, Regulus rolled his eyes.
“What flavour was it anyway?” You asked, to drive the conversation away from the house topic, which clearly was a sensible one.
“Your mom’s,” he replied. After understanding the implication of his answer you gasped and playfully hit him on the arm “Sorry, sorry, It was something like sewer water or something, one of the worst I’ve had in my life.”
Regulus looked at the box and then at you “You want one too?” You asked politely, while there seemed to be some kind of tension between the two boys, neither of them seemed particularly evil, or mean, if anything Regulus was rather shy compared to his loud brother, almost like he did not want to get on the bad side of his parents, something Sirius didn’t really seem to care much about. He quietly nodded to respond to your question and you shot one towards his face, it unfortunately didn’t land on his mouth and fell to the side. He was about to call it off but you didn’t let him. “It’s ok if you don’t get it the worst I’ve had in my life.”
“Peaches,” he replied with a smile.
“Unfair,” Sirus said as he crossed his arms and took the box from you “It’s your turn.”
“I’m terrible at catching with my mouth,” you warned, but he threw one at your face anyway. It landed on your eye, thankfully you closed it first.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” He said, grabbing your face with his two hands to check if you were ok. Did he not know about personal space? “You OK?” He was so close you could smell his breath, it was minty and fresh, despite having had popcorn already.
“Yeah, I’m good,” you said, shaking him off and picking the jelly bean from your shirt, where it’d fallen after attacking you “Got fast reflexes,” you said before popping it in your mouth, you grimaced.
“What was it?” Regulus asked.
“Lime I think, it was very sour,” you said, turning towards him “Guess you’re the lucky one between the three of us.” Regulus smiled awkwardly as a reply and then the screen turned on.
A lady showed up on the screen “Welcome, witches and wizards, this is the newest rendition of the magical cinema series. Welcome to this incredible adventure in which you will face a terrible creature, the dangers of the sea and the world as told from a muggle perspective. There will be a lot of water, hope you brought your bathing suits.” She disappeared shortly after and then the titles started rolling in.
It was actually a beach movie, funny when you remembered that the beach was just a minute's walk away from where you stood. And it was definitely NOT like an ordinary muggle film, there were splashes of water in your face, things crawling on your seat, smoke, smell and even the shark would get out of the screen and swim all over the room. It was thrilling, to say the least.
When the move was over the three of you were soaked, the boys had their fluffy hair clinging onto their faces as you walked out of the theatre. But they also looked happy, Sirius was thrilled, unsurprisingly, but even Reg seemed at ease, even if he had gone to a “muggle thing”.
“We should go see the beach now,” Sirius said.
“Just hope Larry Vaughn is not the mayor here,” you responded and cracked a laugh from the two brothers.
The three of you then walked towards the beach area, there were lounge chairs with umbrellas on top, some beach beds and a stand where you could ask the house elves to bring you different special drinks. As you were sitting down in one of the chairs you overheard some wizards passing by. And you couldn’t help but to be enthralled by their conversation. Regulus was sitting by the end of the bed, looking wearily at the sea and Sirius was taking off his jacket and laying it on the back of the bed for it to dry with the wind, he was rocking a David Bowie shirt underneath. “Hey (Y/N) do you want anything from the–“
“–Shhhh,” you said as you gestured for him to listen to the conversation as well.
“Yeah, the ziplines were amazing, it’s fantastic the hotel counts with muggle transportation all the way to the parks,” one of the wizards said.
“Do you think we should go again,” asked the other one.
“No, Mom said we’d go to the ruins tomorrow, something about magical vestiges or whatever.”
That’s when you stood up “Hey!” You said with a smile “Sorry, we kinda overheard you talking about the… what did you call them? Zip lines? We were wondering what park you were referring to.” You really could be charming when you wanted to.
“It’s Xplore,” one of the boys replied.
The other grabbed his backpack and handed you a brochure “I took this one from the park, maybe it helps,” he said with a bright smile as well.
“Thank you, you’re a darling,” you said before going back to your beach bed, sitting on the side, next to Sirius, Reg was still sitting on the end of the bed, but he clearly did not like where the conversation was going.
“You even got them to give you a brochure?” Sirius mused.
You shrugged and set it on the centre of the bed, opening it up just to realise it was in Spanish.
“Reg speaks some Italian,” Sirius said motioning towards his brother.
“I’m not translating any muggle propaganda.”
“It’s NOT propaganda,” you argued, “regardless I came prepared,” you said as you took out your wand, waved it and whispered “tradussere.” The letters of the page started changing and soon enough it was all in English.
“I thought you needed to speak the language to be able to do that,” Reg said.
“You do, and I can only manage to make it last a couple of minutes, so we better hurry,” you replied.
XPLORE  Jungle adventure park with zip lines, amphibious vehicles, whitewater rafting and underground rivers.  Prices start at $1500 MXN  Experience a true adventure on your trip to Mexico by flinging through ZIP lines, swimming on underground sacred rivers and riding amphibious vehicles in the Mayan rainforests.
On the brochure, there were also photos with people wearing climbing gear and helmets. People swimming in dark but beautiful cabins, it really looked like an adventure-filled experience.
You and Sirius gave each other a look after reading “WE HAVE TO GO,” you said to each other at the same time.
“No, we don’t HAVE to do anything,” said Reg “In fact, we CAN’T.”
“Come on Reggie, it sounds super fun,” you argued, trying to convince him.
“Mom and Dad would kill us before letting us go,” he reasoned with Sirius “You don’t need to make things worse between you and them.”
“I do, especially if they act like racist bastards,” Sirius bit back defensively.
“Sirius,” Reg said with pain in his eyes, clearly he cared about his brother, but Sirius seemed to be too pissed off to even consider that.
“I…” you thought about it for a second “They don’t have to find out…”
“What?” Reg asked, turning his face to you.
“We just have to pick a day that’ll be very busy for them and go then, one with many activities. Besides I’m sure my father and yours are just so eager to catch up that we won’t see them much this summer…”
“I’m not gonna do it,” Regulus said with conviction “It’s a terrible idea, you shouldn’t do it either,” You were far too excited to notice the fear in Regulus' eyes, had you been more observant, maybe the mess you’d get into later could’ve been avoided.
“Clam down Reggie, it’ll be in and out, they’ll never find out,” Sirius reasoned, “We need to be perfect in picking the day,” he said turning towards you.
Regulus denied with his head and pulled a book out of his bag as you and Sirius continued planning your escapade.
You’d be in charge of the money exchange process since you already had done it before and knew how the entire process worked, Sirius would make fake muggle passports for the two of you, so you could get rid of the parental signs and age requirements they ask for in the park, Regulus, as he’d said before, would stay, but he’d make sure to cover for you in case you parents started looking for the two,  he was still against it, but you had convinced to at least do that for you.
After days of careful planning, the opportunity finally presented itself, your parents would have a very busy schedule with some magical presentations happening at the hotel and the three of you would have the day to yourselves.
“So… tomorrow, we have everything?” You asked Sirius.
He nodded “Fake passports, the money, the bus that’ll take us there.  We’ll depart at 7, the park opens at 11 because it’s a Tuesday, but we’ll be dropped off at the city and from there, we have to take a taxi or something to get to the park.”
“Perfect.”
“You know, you can still call it off,” said Regulus, peering from his book, “At least consider it tonight.”
The two of you turned towards him, every time the subject came up, Regulus would say something similar “It’ll be ok Reg, just promise you’ll cover for us,” you pleaded.
He took a deep breath but turned his face towards you and nodded unconvinced “Just be very careful, you don’t know how angry our parents can get.”
You took that as an exaggeration, after all, Sirius had played it as such for the longest time. You couldn’t have been more mistaken. You should’ve listened. But the idea of a day full of adventure next to Sirius was just too intoxicating for you to pay attention to the alarm system activating in your head, after all, the minute you’d met Walburga you’d known something was wrong with her.
“We’ll be fine, Reg, stop acting like a chicken,” Sirius said, diverting your attention again.

A/N: Most Poly!Marauders fics are oneshots, where the relationship between characters is already established, and they're all happy and pleased with it. No issues, no drama, but I WANTED the drama. Couldn't find it, so I set myself up to write the story behind the stablished relationship. I wanted to know how they started dating each other, the jealousy, the will they won't they, because getting into a poly relationship can't be an easy task, and I wanted to explore that story. You had always been more on the reserved side. Where Sirius had chosen to leave the tortures from 12 Grimmauld Place behind him when the Black Siblings returned to school, you and Regulus had been the opposite.
You couldn’t forget. It wasn’t possible. The horrors you always faced at home haunted you every night, leading into early in the mornings, leaving you restless the rest of the day. The only peace you got was when you could sneak off into the library to bury your nose in whatever book you had your hands on. Whether that was a reread or a completely new genre, it didn’t matter. It was an escape.
So, that is exactly what you were doing now. You had been curled up in an armchair in a secluded corner of the library, reading, for almost an hour now. No distractions. Mind blank. Peace finally washing over you.
Letting out a soft sigh, you flipped the page, getting ready to read another chapter when a shadow loomed over you.
“Hello, Dove,” Remus whispered from above you. “Having a bad day?”
You and Remus had met in the Library on a rainy afternoon, and just sat together in silence while reading. Over time you had started small talk, and that led to conversations, which then led into a friendship, turned secret relationship.
It’s not that you wanted it to stay a secret, however, Remus and you were both scared of backlash from Sirius, and you were terrified of your parents; therefore, they could never find out.
Remus notices that you’re too far, too deep into your book to notice him. To pull you back into the present, he carefully rests a hand on your thigh and rubs gently, coaxing you back into the real world.
You flinch slightly at the contact before looking up to see your boyfriend. “Oh, Rem, hi. How long have you been there?” You ask, shutting your book to give him your undivided attention.
Remus ignores you, smiling gently, not sympathetically though, because he knows by now that you won’t accept it. “What do you need from me, Dovy? To talk?” He’s more than aware that you are not actually going to open up right now, he can see it in your eyes from a mile away.
“Can you just hold me?” You whisper, your words laced with vulnerability.
Remus’s eyes soften before he shuffles you around, sliding onto the chair behind you, and situating you onto his lap. He doesn’t say anything. He just holds you, gently stroking your hair, occasionally leaving a kiss to the crown of your head.
When he thinks you're almost asleep, you speak again, “Nothing ever lasts forever, Rem.”
“I know, love. What are you referring to?” He asks, dread filtering into his mind. The lycanthrope has a love-hate relationship with your deep thoughts. Some bring on deep meaningful conversations, whereas others are filled with unnecessary insecurity and doubts.
“Us,” You mutter the exact words that he was dreading.
“No.” Remus says sternly, a tone you rarely hear him use. “I will always love you,” He turns you so you’re sitting sideways in his lap, him making direct eye contact with you, making sure that you hold it. “We’re not doing this, you need to get rid of whatever negative ghosts that are haunting your mind, because we are not breaking up. If I need to help chase those ghosts away, then so be it, but you cannot let them dictate our relationship. Ours, not theirs.”
You nod, burying your head into his neck, breathing in the calming scent of cocoa and old books, mixed with a hint of pine.
“I want to hear you say it,” He whispers, nudging you with his shoulder.
You lift your head from the crook of his neck and smile weakly. “Ours, not the ghosts.”
“Exactly right, Dove.”
Remus leans in and gently presses his lips to yours, and you reciprocate before he leans back, pulling you into his chest. “I love you,” He whispers, again, knowing you needed reassurance. “And I always will.”
You nod, “I love you, forever and always.” It comes out in a whisper, but Remus hears it anyway and presses his forehead against yours, but not before pressing a kiss to your nose.
He slowly reaches up and presses the pads of his thumbs where he knows your dimples are and where he knows they should be right now. “Can you smile for me, Love?”
And you do. Because you love him, more than you thought you were ever capable of. You smile crookedly, showing Remus that it is indeed a true smile, and he leaves a kiss on both dimples before pulling away and smiling back at you.
You bring your own thumbs to his face, rubbing gently over the hundreds of freckles scattered along his face.
He kisses you gently once more before grabbing your book, “Now, what were we reading before I interrupted?” He questions teasingly.
“Well, I was reading that,” You admit sheepishly, pulling out a quill and ink container from your bag.
“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?” Remus raises a teasing brow.
“Oh hush,” You shove his shoulder. “I was in the mood for something different and it was in the muggle book section. It seemed interesting.”
“No judgment from me then, Dove.” He whispers, opening the book at your marked spot.
And that is exactly how you and Remus spend the rest of your day. Him reading to you, and you drawing thin vines, small flowers, and a variety of constellations on his various scars while you listen to his soothing voice tell the story of a girl with a dog that somehow got sucked into a tornado and transported into the world of Oz. It didn’t make sense to you, but Remus was reading it, and that was all that seemed to matter to you at that very moment.

Teenager Teenager (1/1) (jegulus)
"I hate you!" Harry yelled as he slammed the door to his room after stomping up the stairs.
Even though James knew Harry was just upset because he wasn't being allowed to go to a party, it still hurt to hear those words from his son. Half of him shook his head knowing that he felt the exact same way at 14 when he wasn't allowed to go to clearly adult parties but the other part of him, his lifelong insecurities of not being good enough crept right up his neck making his hair stand on end.
James sighed. Nothing he could do about it now until Harry cooled down or Regulus got home. Harry would probably ask to go stay with Sirius and Remus, but honestly they are stricter about these things knowing how much trouble they both got into in their youth. At least he knew everyone would agree with this choice even if Harry didn't understand.
He started making dinner and as Regulus got home he explained what happened. Regulus, the perfect partner for James who could read the underlying inadequacy he was feeling and the pain clear on his face, came over and hugged him tightly.
When Regulus pulled back he kissed James' cheek, then spoke softly: "you did the right thing James, and you are a great father. He's just a boy he'll understand one day. And I know my son, he does not hate you at all."
James smiled and leaned back into Regulus. "Thank you," he whispered. Regulus then helped James with the rest of dinner.
When James called Harry down for supper, he came solemnly.
"Hi Papa," he said to Regulus, who kissed Harry's head when he came over to give him a quick hug hello.
Harry then sat down at the table. After a moment of silence only interrupted by the rustling of James and Regulus taking their places at the table, Harry spoke up.
"Um dad?" He asked tentatively, eyes trained on his lap.
"Yes son," James replied evenly.
"Im sorry, I um I don't hate you. I didn't mean that I was just upset and I I don't want you to think that because it's it's not true," Harry stuttered.
James reached his hand out to grab Harry's shoulder. "I know love, thank you for the apology," James said and Harry looked up with a face full of remorse. A small smile of regret lifted the corners of his lips as James and Harry shared looks instead of more words.
"Harry I'm proud of you for apologizing, but you know hurting people with your words when you are upset is not going to fly," James said after a moment.
"I know. I'm really sorry dad, I just feel like I don't know how to control it sometimes..." Harry said.
"Do you want help?" Regulus asked, his voice judgement free. Harry looked at Regulus, and after a moment of eye contact Harry nodded his head.
"Okay, well first things first right is remembering those emotion regulation skills right?" Regulus said, and Harry nodded.
"Maybe we just start practicing those more when we aren't too upset so that they come more naturally when we are, yes?" Regulus encouraged.
"Could we um, could you do them with me after dinner again?" Harry asked quietly.
"Of course mon amour," Regulus replied. He was still just a boy after all, barely a teenager. Regulus didn't learn these skills until he was mid-twenties so he knew Harry was going to be just fine.
"Thank you," Harry said. He looked over at James who nodded encouragingly, and then James pointed his fork at Harry's plate; "Eat. You'll feel better after."

Lily's Sister (Part 7)
Regulus Black AU
Summary:  You are Lily’s younger sister. Regulus never becomes a death eater but abandoned his family for the order. The two of you have a love/hate relationship that intensifies after you come back from a year abroad.
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M- smut
Link to Part 6
_____
“The Mckinnons are dead.”
Those words took a moment to populate in your mind before you were able to react. Your hands automatically went to cover your mouth! While you should be entirely shocked by this news (afterall, people on both sides died). It was still shocking to hear that all of the Mckinnons were dead
Oh Merlin, Marlene!
Your heart ached at the realization that one of your best friends was gone forever.
“Did you say the Mckinnons were dead? Like all of them?”
Regulus questioned. Sirius only nodded. He couldn’t bring himself to repeat it. Knowing yet another one of his childhood friends had met a grizzly fate was something Sirius didn’t want to keep repeating.
Regulus was silent for a moment. While he didn’t give two shits that Noah was dead, the news the whole family was wiped out was shocking. His gray eyes flickered in your direction. You hadn’t said anything since Sirius dropped the news.
“Fuck, now they are wiping out whole families.”
Regulus grumbled before turning his attention back to you. He wrapped a hand around yours gently squeezing.
“I’m going with Remus to set up all of the arrangements. We don’t even know who to contact now that all of them are dead.”
Sirius wasn’t surprised when Regulus didn’t appear at all interested or bothered. This was just typical Regulus Black behavior.
“Yeah, good luck with that.”
Regulus commented before turning to go find fire whiskey.
You, meanwhile, turned your attention back to Sirius.
“Marlene…did it…appear that she suffered?”
Sirius took a shaky breath. He didn’t want to tell you everything. Sure, you had every right to know but this was still one of your best friends.
“Unfortunately, yes. You know what they were up against. I’m sorry about Noah.”
Regulus’ grey eyes flickered in his brother’s direction as you pressed your lips together.
“Noah wasn’t anything special to me, Sirius but thanks. He had no issues giving me hell over dating Regulus earlier today. I suppose I feel bad that I don’t feel bad enough.”
Regulus smirked and took a sip of his drink. Something told him that he would probably have ended up killing Noah for how he talked to you had some death eater not beaten him to the job.
“Well, Noah was awfully jealous of the two of you.”
You only nodded as Lily walked into the room. Her eyes were puffy as she looked in your direction.
“I talked to mum. She’s fixing a roast chicken tonight. Would the two of you feel up to coming with us?”
Regulus instantly made a face. He DID NOT expect to meet your parents that quickly. His evening plans consisted of shoving you in a nice steamy shower and having his way. Now, he had a feeling that he was about to go give your father some cheesy line about how much he liked his daughter.
“I probably shouldn’t introduce myself as the man who makes Y/n’s legs shake.”
Regulus thought with a smirk as Lily turned in his direction. Lily’s smile faded. She was not at all happy with the lover that you decided upon. Lily would have much rather that you ended up with Sirius vs Regulus. She knew that you would have to fight Remus or join some kind of throuple but at least it would be with someone decent.
“You might as well come along too, Regulus. We should get mum and dad introduced as soon as possible.”
“You sound so excited.”
Regulus grumbled before turning back to you. He knew that you weren’t looking forward to going anywhere either. You were devastated about Marlene. Now Lily wanted you to make some kind of social call.
“Sugar, do you want to get this over with or shall we do it at another time?”
Regulus’ voice pulled you from your thoughts. He was hoping that you would say tonight wasn’t a good time but that didn’t happen.
“Lily’s right. We might as well get this over with.”
An hour later, you stood outside of your parent’s home with Regulus at your side. He hadn’t said much since arriving. James was his normal golden retriever self as he reached for the door.
“Hey Regulus, now the heat can be on you. Thank you for coming along and getting it off of my shoulders.”
Regulus gave James a cold glare as the front door opened. You had been thinking of things to say to your parents for some time. Turning up and looking devastated wouldn’t end well. Your mom had a nose like a Doberman and could detect the slightest thing being “off.”
While your parents knew about the war in the wizarding world, they hadn’t been told entirely everything.
“Let's go in here and act like everything is fine. There is no need to worry mum and dad more than necessary.”
Lily commented as her eyes met yours.
“No, there isn’t. They will never sleep at night if they knew everything.”
You replied. James grinned. He wanted nothing more than to ease the tension.
“Maybe you also shouldn’t mention that you are sleeping with Regulus already. Something tells me that won’t go over well.”
“James, I will give you money to shut up.”
Lily grumbled at her husband as your mother opened the door. You were so thankful to see your mother’s warm kind smile. With everything that had happened that day, you needed something warm.
“I’m so happy to see all of you!”
Mrs. Evan said happily before moving to kiss Lily. She quickly grabbed a hold of you next. Wrapping your arms around your mum’s shoulders, you took a moment just breathing her in.
“Hi, mum.”
You said, faking a smile. Silently, you prayed that your mum would buy it. Mrs. Evan’s cupped your face. It was always good to see her baby.
“Y/n, sweetheart, I haven’t seen you in weeks. You are looking well. Are you doing alright? Your eyes look puffy.”
You faked another smile.
“I’m fine, mum. I promise. Mum, I have a boyfriend. This is Regulus. He’s Sirius’ younger brother.”
You watched as your mother took a step back and looked Regulus over. Maybe it would be funny later but your mum reminded you of a wary motherbird.
Mrs. Evans meanwhile, was carefully taking Regulus in. She could tell he was Sirius’ brother. He shared the same perfectly handsome good looks that the boy who had become like a son to her possessed. Something about Regulus, however, was different. He didn’t seem nearly as extroverted as Sirius was.
While Mrs. Evans had her concerns she decided to push those out of her mind for now. She could always talk to you about this more in-depth later.
“Nice to meet you. How long have the two of you been together?”
You had returned back to Regulus’ side and squeezed his hand.
“Officially, yesterday but we’ve been seeing each other for a bit.”
You decided to leave screwing like bunnies as “seeing each other.”
“It's a pleasure.”
Regulus added in a quiet tone. His quiet nature was coming right back out. You hadn’t expected Regulus to chat your parents up as if he had known them for years. In fact, you had expected him to be quiet.
“Come on in, I am finishing the finishing touches on dinner. Your father is in the dining room waiting.”
Mrs. Evan commented in your direction. She decided to let you be the one to drop the whole “boyfriend” topic on your father.
James and Lily walked in as if nothing major was happening. For once, the attention would be off of them. James was looking forward to seeing Mr. Evans lay into Regulus. He didn’t foresee Mr. Evans being too thrilled with Regulus’ reserved nature.
Regulus looked around the home as he followed you down a narrow hallway. His eyes glanced at the family photos lining the hallway. He knew good and well that your family was muggles but seeing no movement in the photographs felt strange to him.
With each step, Regulus could easily point your pictures out. They went all the way from a baby photo up to a family portrait that was recently taken.
“Merlin, she’s stunning.”
Regulus thought with an internal smile as you turned to face him. He suddenly couldn’t remember why he liked to bug you so much in school. Maybe it was because he always liked you but didn’t want to admit it because of your blood status? Now none of that mattered. Regulus didn’t care that you were a muggle-born and, if the two of you had children someday, that they would be half-blooded.
“Children? What the fuck? Where did that come from?”
Regulus thought, in total confusion. The two of you had been dating officially for a day and here he was being dopey thinking about you. Regulus didn’t know how to exactly process that thought. Never before, in the history of his life, had Regulus ever been this “feeling” over. You were making him question everything about himself. Since when did Regulus even entertain the thought of having children? As far as he was concerned, Regulus hated children. Now...he wasn't so sure about that topic.
“What is this girl doing to me?”
Mr. Evans’ talking pulled Regulus from his frantic thoughts. Regulus quickly looked to the middle-aged man who had stood from his place at that table.
You had let go of Regulus’ hand to go hug your father.
“Dad, it's good to see you.”
You said as your father kissed your cheek.
“It's good to see you too, sweetpea. What’s new?”
You turned your attention back to Regulus. Had the situation not been a bit tense, you would have made a joke about how Regulus looked ready to run right back out the front door.
“Dad, this is my boyfriend, Regulus.”
You chuckled at the expression of sheer annoyance on your father’s face. Mr. Evans had the same reaction when he met James or Vernon for the first time. According to your father, no man was ever good enough for his daughters.
Mr. Evans looked Regulus over carefully. The boy in front of him looked less than pleased to be in his home. Something about the perpetually bored expression on Regulus’ face made Mr. Evans raise an eyebrow.
“Ah, what to do you know? So, Regulus, what do you do for a living?”
Regulus didn’t let his cool calm composure falter.
“I’m the muggle equivalent of a lawyer.”
You looked between Regulus and your father with a wary look.
“We went to school together.”
You added. Your father nodded before turning his attention back to James. Mr. Evans would ask his own questions later.
You edged your way to where Regulus stood as your mother called Lily into the kitchen to help with dinner. It was no secret that your mother was interrogating Lily about Regulus.
“Well, that was exciting.”
Regulus said in a soft tone. You winced.
“Want to come see my old room?”
Regulus quickly looked up at your father. The last thing that he really wanted was for Papa Bear to hear that.
“Don’t you think they will notice that we have gone missing?”
Regulus questioned. You rolled your eyes.
“It will be fine. They won’t notice anything. Dad is grilling James and mum is busy with Lily. We will have a few moments.”
With that, you turned and pulled Regulus out of the room toward the stairs. After the day that the two of you had, you had an itch that only Regulus would be able to fix.
Regulus, meanwhile, was chuckling to himself. Did he realize that you were this big of a tart? No. He expected you to be a little more tame but, as usual, you were proving to him that he was right about nothing.
You opened the door with a smirk. As Regulus walked past you, you reached out slapping him on the ass. It took Regulus all of three seconds to pull you into the room and shut the door. You were pushed against the door and had Regulus pressed against you before you were able to register what exactly happened.
“You’re going to pay for that, little girl.”
Regulus said in a stern voice. He reached down to wrap his hand around your thigh, hoisting it over his hip, You bit your bottom lip as Regulus shoved your head to the side.
“I hope that I do.”
You replied. Regulus leaned down to kiss your neck.
“And you said that I was slut.”
Regulus murmured against your neck before biting down. His breath was hot against your skin with each kiss and nibble. You took your want out, casting a silencing spell on the room before moaning. Regulus moved his hands down to cup your breasts. He squeezed and teased your nipples through your dress.
“Let's see how ready you are.”
Regulus said, in that dominating tone that made your clothes fall off. His hand slid up your thighs. You gasped feeling the coolness of his rings on your skin. The moment that Regulus made contact with your bare flesh, he froze.
“No panties and making love in your childhood bedroom…such a naughty thing.”
Regulus said as he stroked his finger over your pussy lips. They parted easily for his fingers. You were swollen and puffy. Regulus used the pad of his longest finger to tease your clit. He rubbed softy at first before rubbing harder. You cried out, your breath ragged and knees shaking"
“Come for me, sugar, Come for me now or I’ll lay over my lap and spank you. You’ll have to go downstairs and face your parents with a red little ass.”
Regulus whispered in your ear. You did exactly as Regulus told you. You came in a deep and shuddering orgasm. Regulus held you close, feeling the pleasure energy run through your body.
“I would love a blow job but we don’t have the time. We can’t let your mummy and daddy know what I’m up here doing to your little twat.”
Regulus said with an evil little smile. He slowly unbuckled his belt and pushed his pants down enough to get his cock free. Regulus was half tempted to leave you like this. Make you face your parents, still wet and frustrated…but he couldn’t be that cruel. Especially not after he removed his free hand from your body and it was soaking wet. You were most definitely going to have your pussy stretched.
Regulus was hard and aching for you. It was still amazing how you were like sexual kryptonite to him. It wouldn’t make much more than a wanting look from you for Regulus to be ready for whatever could happen.
“Please, Reggie…”
You whimpered as he continued to tease your opening with the head of his cock.
“Fuck, sugar. You beg so pretty.”
Regulus groaned before pushing his hips up enough to completely sheath himself inside of you. He set up a nice steady pace, pumping in and out of you. You put a finger on your clit and strummed it in time to Regulus’ thrusts. It didn’t take Regulus long to feel your orgasm building. Each time your pussy spasmed around his cock, Regulus felt the burning need to come building within himself too.
Your eyes were closed in ecstasy with each snap of Regulus’ hips. How you would face your parents all flushed was a mystery that you weren’t ready to think of yet. Regulus whimpered your name before coming hard within you.
“You really are a little tart.”
Regulus murmured as he leaned down to kiss you once more. You giggled against his mouth.
“And you love it.”
Regulus was about to say something cheeky but froze hearing Lily calling your name…

"Did it hurt when Andromeda left?"
Regulus is 13 and Narcissa has just turned 19. He asks a curious question out of a growing dread for what he thinks is the inevitable. He just wants to know how much it's going to hurt. So he can prepare himself.
Tumblr media
"Cissa...?"
"Regulus?" she replies.
It's been a while since the two of them got the chance to spend time together. With everything that's happened, Narcissa's fondly reminded why it's always the two of them that end up sequestered somewhere quiet, during family galas and visits. She may not dote on Regulus the way her sister used to dote on Sirius but... Narcissa's well aware that Regulus has found a kindred spirit in her. With affection, she thinks the same of him too. Regulus will always have a welcome spot beside her. In each other's company, they find quiet comfort.
Regulus understands.
Coming with her father to the townhouse at Islington, she now finds herself reading peacefully beside her cousin. Her father, as much as he loves to let his daughters know how low he thinks of Aunt Walburga — has never been able to make a major financial decision without her counsel. Charming, really. It's the dependency on her wisdom that fuels the loathing he has for his eldest sister.
A cup of brewed tea sits steaming to her left, dutifully served by Regulus' devoted elf. In a quiet nook in the corner of a private library, the two sit around the table that, at one point, used to host five Black children. Now, it's just the two of them.
"Did it hurt when Andromeda left?"
She hisses at how the question stings and from the corner of her eye, she sees Regulus flinch from the sound she makes.
Narcissa almost rips into him for even daring to bring up Andromeda. She turns to her cousin, poorly repressed grief and lingering betrayal quick to bubble up from within —
— only to be greeted with the sight of a scared boy, bracing himself for her anger. Despite this, Regulus refuses to break eye contact, committed to getting an answer. He knew what response he was tempting but still decided to brave it. Sadly, she thinks, he's asking for himself. Regulus has always understood far too well.
Morgana help her.
With clarity, her anger quickly evaporates.
In its place is a growing dread as she realizes how nauseatingly familiar Regulus's situation is. She can't help the way her heart breaks for her cousin. Andromeda cutting ties wasn't a sudden event. It was a breaking point. A leading up to of sorts — and she was there, for every single moment of it.
Regulus, who loves Sirius more than anyone else in the family, wants to know if the inevitable departure of his brother will hurt just as much as she hurt her.
"What, are you afraid of what happens when Sirius finally leaves?" she asks. He stares at her for a while, almost pleading for an answer kinder than what he's been fearing. She hears the hitch of his breath first, before seeing his face crumple. He cries silently just as she taught him to (Andromeda showed Sirius exactly how to get hurt. Narcissa taught Regulus how to survive).
The boy desperately tries to wipe at his face before letting out a wobbly, "Yes." He looks at her, tears welling up, "I know he wants to leave. I can't come with him. I'm not sure I want to. But I don't want him to leave," he pleads like she has the power to stop his impending heartbreak, "I don't want him to leave me here all alone!"
Standing up, she walks to where her cousin sits, leans down to cup his cheek, and draws him in to press a kiss on top of his head. He clings to Narcissa tightly, at the first sign of offered comfort. Despite their similarities, it's times like this when she's reminded of how young Regulus is. When was the last time he was ever consoled? Held? How long had he been waiting to say this out loud with dread swimming in his thoughts? Narcissa holds Regulus just a little tighter. She wishes she didn't know so very well how scared he must be feeling.
"I hate that I know I'll miss him so much," he whispers, "I hate that I have no idea if he'll even feel the same. I keep looking for him when he's not here, because when he isn't, some part of me feels all wrong." They're all broken, the lot of them, she thinks. She hears the same brokenness within her, from her cousin's voice. He scoffs, "We barely talk anymore. I wish I knew the right things to say. It's like fighting's all we ever do these days, and he keeps starting them like he wants something from me. That if he starts enough fights, I'll say what he wants me to say. I don't know what he's looking for!
"I don't know what I'm supposed to do. He won't tell me. Now, all I see are signs of him getting ready to leave."
When she takes a step back from Regulus, her knees almost buckle as she sees herself sitting in his place. She's been there before.
Regulus, who's never loved his brother any less despite the increasing intensity of their fights. Who never stopped trying to win Sirius' affection back. Not that he ever lost it to begin with, she pities. Contrary to her cousin's heartbroken fretting, the problem isn't Sirius' waning devotion — rather her cousin's steady realization that his unrepentant refusal to change will get him killed. There's no room for him in this house nor in this family. The only thing up to question is what finally does the job: her aunt's barely concealed and easily wielded brutality or her uncle's building fury, finally having had enough of Sirius.
Sirius looks at Regulus with enough loathing to match the glares he gives their mother. Which would've been effective at showing how desperate he is — just as he keeps saying — to be rid of his family, if he didn't also look at his brother with the same undying love since they were children. He thinks he hides it so well. It's the very weakness their mother continues to exploit. Sirius is an idiot, a blood traitor, and a victim of his own making. Just as Andromeda was, she thinks derisively. But Sirius Black has never spent a day in his life with love lost for Regulus. However, Narcissa knows better than to tell Regulus because he is, despite the inevitable grief, better off without him. Just as she knows she's better off without her.
She can't help Sirius but she can help Regulus. She wants nothing more than to help her cousin — the one she thinks she can still save.
"You know when I told you why you couldn't keep the blackbird you found in your garden?"
Her cousin nods. He's calmed down considerably.
"Then you understand why Sirius has to leave, yes?" she prods.
"Like Andy had to leave?" he asks tearfully.
"Yes, just like she had to leave," painful as it is to admit, she says as she holds his hand, "It'll hurt for a while and then it won't anymore," she lies. "It's always better when people find the homes they've been missing all along. Your home is here." she tells him, unable to hide the desperation in her voice — Regulus will not survive any attempt to follow his brother. Neither will Sirius, sadly enough.
"Sirius has to go find his, somewhere else where he can be happy," she lies again.
She knows the brothers will always look for each other where they aren't there. The way she looks for Andromeda sometimes. The way she peeks into hallways and empty rooms back home, hoping to see her and her stupid muggle books.
Regulus nods solemnly. "They've been hurting him more, Cissa. And he's getting worse, too. I think some part of him doesn't care anymore, like he's still looking for reasons to leave even though I know he's already planning to.
"I think they're going to kill him," he says like a terrible secret. "If he doesn't stop. I don't think they will, too." Regulus draws a shaky breath in before saying, "I think it's going to get bad enough that I won't be able to piece him back together again, and when I do manage it, he'll goad them into doing worse."
Regulus has been patching Sirius up since they were children. Narcissa remembers the jealousy she used to hold for Regulus' quickly amassed skills when her healing was considered a family pride. Now, she knows it was born from a place of desperation.
"Sometimes he turns me away when I knock to help after. He thinks I'm doing it for them," Regulus wipes at his face again, "I don't know why he keeps doing it when he has a packed bag ready. Every day, I wake up and wonder if he's finally had enough to leave. Every day, since we got back from Hogwarts, I watch him do his best to get himself killed. I don't know what he's waiting for. He's itching to leave, Narcissa."
The pain in her cousin's voice, has her nudging Regulus to the side to make room for her, where he's sitting, so she can wrap an arm around him. She holds her tongue. She doesn't want to say how Sirius is stupidly dragging his feet. Waiting for their parents to do something horrific enough so he can run, without looking back.
"I'll miss him so much. It's Sirius. He's leaving, and I'm scared."
She's holding Regulus. She's holding the 14-year old girl who used to weep like it would bring her sister back. I keep looking for him when he's not here, because when he isn't, some part of me feels all wrong — she remembers opening the door to Andromeda's room, climbing in her bed and pretending the pillows weren't losing Andy's scent, smelling more and more like her instead. She remembers turning to tell her sister something only to find no one there. Narcissa still looks for Andromeda everywhere. Every door she opens is a silent prayer to see her again.
Did it hurt when Andromeda left?
Yes. Like she wanted to die. Four years after and Narcissa still feels like wailing at the fact of her loss. She wishes more than anything to be able to take Regulus' pain away. She does the next best thing.
"It'll hurt. A lot but it won't last long." This, she lies about. But what follows are her true convictions, "You'll wake up one day and you'll find you're a better person because of how strong it's made you. There's no better drive than knowing you're doing something right."
Regulus has so much devotion to give. He's loyal to a deathly fault. He's far too bright. Far too talented. He has so much potential.
They were the one's meant to stay. It's an honor and a privilege.
She hates Andy just as fiercely as she loves her still. But she wouldn't change a single thing. Her beliefs and principles are what ground her, she rests easy in knowing the family looks upon her and feels pride at her accomplishments. Just like Bella. She has history and culture to preserve, especially now, when they're continuously threatened. Narcissa fully believes in doing the work to see a better future for the rest of them. For the children of the Black Family line.
They must persist.
Looking at Regulus gives her hope. She cups his face and smiles at the way he leans into her palm. "What we're doing is worth it, Regulus. We belong here for a reason."
Regulus closes his eyes at her words, hoping desperately for them to soothe him, as he reaches for her cousin's hand once more.
*wow, i can't seem to stop writing about the black brothers. here, have some more.
If you have the spoons for it, please consider giving this a reblog. It's a great source of motivation and the only effective way for other people to see the things i share :)

“Barty, who’s at the— oh.” Regulus stops short.
“He was just leaving,” Barty says, then turns to James, “Weren’t you, Potter?”
“It’s fine, Barty, I’ve got it,” Regulus says, shifting so he can slip past Barty and come to stand right in front of James.
“You sure?” Barty asks. He maintains eye contact until Regulus nods. “Okay, well, don’t do anything stupid. Just yell if you need me.”
And with that, he turns to head back inside. Regulus is fairly sure he only walks down the hall so he can listen in, but he doesn’t mind it too much. Maybe he won’t jump James if he knows Barty is right there.
He regards James for a moment, wonders what he’s here for. His eyes frag down James’ form, but unfortunately, he doesn’t flinch under the scrutiny. And unfortunately, James looks good. Again. Or still. Either way, it’s doing dangerous things to Regulus resolve.
“What are you doing here?” He asks finally.
The corner of James’ mouth tugs up in a half-smile. “Hi, baby,” he says, and Regulus hates him. Hates that he looks all boyish and charming. Regulus wants to kiss him. No, kill him. Definitely kill him.
“James.”
“Yeah, sorry.” One of James’ hands comes up to scratch at the back of his head. “Um. Why wouldn’t Barty let me inside to see you?”
The question is sobering. Annoyance sparks in his gut and Regulus is getting tired of this game. Of this dance where they so clearly are avoiding the issue at hand, spinning around it until they’re so dizzy they can’t see anything but each other.
He crosses his arms in front of his chest, a fickle attempt at a barrier and shoots James an unamused glare. “Because you cheated on me?”
James’ face falls, confusion marring his features, wrinkling his forehead. Regulus has the urge to smooth it out. “What? When? And why?” Disbelief soaks his voice and now it’s Regulus’ turn to be confused.
“What?”
“Why would I cheat on you?”
“What?”
“Regulus, baby,” James sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, “you broke up with me because you thought I cheated?”
“You never corrected me!” Regulus splutters. He thinks back to the day they broke up, to the fight they had. The quiet resign when Regulus ended things. His friends had told him the silence was confession, but he’s not so sure now.
“How was I supposed to? I didn’t know.”
“I— You didn’t?”
“I didn’t cheat or I didn’t know?”
“Both!”
“Obviously not!”
James is closer now than he was a moment ago, close enough that Regulus could reach out and touch if he wanted to. By God, does he want to. This is exactly why he didn't let himself see James at all those first few months. He needed to build up tolerance. Resistance. But what good did it do him? He still ended up on his knees almost immediately.
The urge to touch makes his fingers tingle, a buzzing in his veins that he can't ignore.
“Well, it wasn’t obvious to me!” Regulus squeezes his eyes shut, embarrassment making it hard to maintain eye contact with James. There’s no way they broke up over nothing. There’s no way Regulus never confronted him, never gave James the chance to explain.
He opens his eyes again, sees James gnawing at his bottom lip. He looks softer today, more worn. The bravado and cockiness from their last two encounters nowhere to be seen.
“Regulus, what even gave you the idea…” James trails off, lets the end of the sentence hang in between them.
Regulus stares at the ground, at the scuffed toe of his shoe. He remembers the day well. Had made dinner for two and packed it so he could eat with James at work.
“I came to see you at the office because you were working late again and I overheard the new hire say that she fucked the guy who was training her.” Regulus’ heart had dropped right out from his chest and shattered into a dozen pieces when he heard it. He thinks he left a few behind.
He takes a breath, steeling himself to continue, but James cuts in with an excited, “Oh my God, Frank and Alice fucked? That’s why they disappeared during team drinks!”
“Frank?”
“Baby, Alice had two people training her. She wasn’t talking about me. Ask Frank if you want to be sure, but— Wait. Pause. Sorry, you fell into bed with me thinking I had cheated on you?”
Heat floods Regulus’ face. “What was I supposed to do?”
“Say no!” James sounds indignant.
As if it were easy to say no to James Potter. James with his messy smile, joy spilling from the corner of his mouth. James with his bright eyes and bright laugh. James with his warm hands that know just how to make Regulus writhe.
“Yeah, well…” Regulus racks his brain for any sort of defense, but he is only met with the image of James' naked form. “You thought I broke up with you for no reason and still slept with me!” He counters.
Now it’s James’ turn to flush, embarrassment making the tips of his hears turn red. “What was I supposed to do?”
“Say no!”
“Love, we both know I was never any good at saying no to you.” James’ voice is low as he says it, like a secret or a confession, not meant for anyone else’s ears. Regulus reaches behind him to tug the door shut. Barty does not need to hear this.
Regulus considers for a moment. Looks up at James through is lashes. “Neither am I, apparently.”
“Sounds like a flaw.” James inches closer, crowding Regulus against the front door. The buzzing in his veins quiets. “You should probably work on that.”
“Yeah?” Regulus murmurs. “Now?”
“Mm. Why not?” Both of James’ hands come to rest on Regulus’ hips. Regulus lets his head thud against the door just so he can look at James better. The mole under his lip and the finger print smudged on his glasses. James never did clean them well.
“Okay.”
“Can I kiss you?” James asks. His breath hits the side of Regulus’ face and Regulus can’t help but shiver.
“No.”
James’ fingers tighten their hold on Regulus, but he doesn’t lean in. Instead, he asks “Do you still love me?”
“No,” Regulus says again.
James huffs a laugh, forehead coming to rest on Regulus’ shoulder. Regulus’ hands come up to card through James’ hair. It’s comfortable. Familiar.
“Liar.” The word is muffled in the fabric of Regulus’ shirt. Then, “Will you go out with me?”
Regulus pretends to consider, but they both know the answer. “No more mistakes,” he says. “Just you and me.” And like any good promise, he seals it with a kiss.

Y’all I had another fanfic idea.
Jegulus acquaintances (like oh yeah he exists type shit)
to enemies (regulus is a death eater, James is in the order. But it’s like proper enemies. Regulus has it out for James and James kinda just likes the attention but doesn’t know why)
to hate fuckers (where Regulus has James pinned to the wall of an alleyway at wand point where James went to apparate away. He doesn’t get to obviously and James just smiles and flirts and riles Regulus up so much that he just snaps and kisses the ever loving shit out of James. They don’t fuck here, no no, Regulus runs away and leaves James with a lot to think about. The hate fucking comes a lot later when the two find themselves locked in a duel. They are probably in the middle of the woods somewhere and their back up is no where in sight. Regulus eventually finds himself pressed against a tree, his wand held at James throat ready to use it, but James just smiles and leans closer to whisper in his ear, “I haven’t stopped thinking about you.” And if that doesn’t send Regulus spiralling… anyway so they kiss again and this the hate fucking begins.)
to “I still hate you but I don’t” (sort of push and pull. They keep ‘accidentally’ being in the same place at the same time. In public, Regulus hates James’ guts, he is also in denial and so far gone for James but James is in a similar position, he hates that Regulus is a death eater but gods if Regulus isn’t the most beautiful thing he’s ever laid eyes on…)
to reluctant friends who fuck (after Regulus discovers Voldemorts secret. The horcruxes and is so disgusted not only with Voldemort but also himself that he seeks out James willingly. Sending him an owl to meet and if he doesn’t come alone Regulus will do indescribable things to the people he cares about. So James goes and finds Regulus pacing manically and James does what he does best and helps him calm down. Regulus doesn’t want to talk about it, not yet but he has realised that James isn’t so bad and then they fuck because Regulus is only a man.)
to “I would kill for you” “I’d let you” (Its a war, James morally grey is my love idc. James would just tell Regulus that there is a spy in the order and Regulus would say that and James would be like, “yeah okay, fair enough, do it.” So not only does Regulus have his super secret mission about finding these fucking horcruxes without Voldemort knowing, he also has to find and kill the spy - which he is all too happy to do. He also doesn’t question why he feels so strongly about keeping James safe and still remains in denial.)
to “I’d do anything for you” (they’d do anything for the other. James is sort of pulling away from the order because he misses Regulus so much and just can’t do the slipping away and the excuses and hiding things from his parents, his best friends, etc etc. He just wants Regulus, so he ends up buying an apartment that his friends don’t know about and asks Regulus to move in with him. Regulus says yes, for some reason that he doesn’t name but he does because he can’t stand to be in his mothers presence ((she’s probably going insane or something???)) so Regulus reasons that he said yes because he wants away from her but “not because I like James”.)
to lovers (where James just says I love you one day, sending Regulus into a crisis and a little panic when he all of a sudden names that feeling that he feels for James which is most definitely love. So he fucks James about it because “how dare you make me love you” and James just ahhhh he melts because angry Regulus who loves him??? Ahhh yes.)
Anyway, at some point Regulus would tell James about the horcruxes and how he has been hunting them and James helps him. James would drop all contact with his friends and family and just throw himself completely into loving Regulus (which is has come to realise he is insane about. Like he would also kill for Regulus.) he wouldn’t take the mark just because I think that’s a line he wouldn’t cross (or he could take it for Regulus because he is possessive and wants to share how crazy he is for him. Regulus ofc is the very same. Slightly more insane and Voldemort would live for it. Regulus and James, his right hand men. Bellatrix and other high ranking death eaters are like soooo jealous but Jegulus is untouchable basically.)
So yeah, James would take the mark for Regulus and they’d be the worst of the worst together all while tearing apart Voldemort’s empire from the inside.
They’d kill the death eaters off bit by bit. Dwindling their numbers but Voldemort already has the ministry under his control so he isn’t at all worried.
They also find all the horcruxes together, using the invisibility cloak when necessary. And destroy all of them.
That’s when he becomes worried.
The inner circle has a meeting. Regulus and James didn’t kill off any of the members apart of it. However, this particular meeting is being held at Grimmauld Place, unaware of the wards protecting Regulus and James (because Regulus added him to the protection wards whilst also removing everyone else so it’s just the two of them).
It’s at this meeting that Regulus and James reveal what they did. And they formally duel Voldemort. The rest of the death eaters stay out of it because their master told them to (much to Bella’s annoyance) and eventually, Regulus or James casts the final spell and kill the dark lord. Then ofc they kill of the inner circle. Bathing themselves in blood because who doesn’t love a bloody Jegulus.
Anyway, the two take Tom Riddles corpse and apparate to Potter Manor. Now since James is still the heir, they get past the wards.
“I’m home!” James would shout, walking into the living room finding his parents, wolfstar, pandamarylily, dorlene, with their wands out ready to defend themselves. That is until Regulus drops the dead body in the middle of the room.
Chaos, immediately. James and Regulus look at eachother and Regulus just laughs hysterically while James looks at Regulus like he wants to devour him.
So he does, once Regulus finishes laughing, the make out right over the corpse whilst people around them panic.
Regulus then takes James and they disappear into the night, never to be heard from again (or are they??)
So yeah, Dark Jegulus AU, enemies to lovers.
Yay I have another WIP ☹️✌️

my unpopular marauders opinions
(i'm scared 😟)
'nothing is ooc bc we know nothing about the characters!' might work with the girl characters and the lesser known ones but it does not fly when we are talking about the marauders and other characters like barty, regulus, etc. we have so much (biased) information on these characters and you can't erase all they were in the original text bc you want to make an oc in the marauders era.
sirius is literally one of the most interesting characters in the fandom and i hate how he's been dumbed down to regulus' brother or remus' boyfriend depending on who's pov we're reading. what happened to cool sirius and why has he become a loser who follows remus around like a lapdog??? what happened to casanova sirius who all the girls were into but he never paid them any attention??? what happened to the sirius who risked his life and ran away bc he refused to become like his parents??? and why has been reduced to a whimpering mess who cries bc remus is mean to him (ooc on remus' part too). you're lying to yourselves if you think sirius wouldn't start throwing hands the moment remus insulted him. i need to write an entire separate post for this bc it makes me viscerally angry when i see him portrayed like this. who decided that giving remus all of sirius' main character traits was a good idea??
similarly, remus has become so boring. he has literally become the toxic love interest in a werewolf story please STOP IT. i'm tired of remus constantly yelling and calling other people (specifically sirius) worthless or hitting their deepest insecurities but it's all justified bc it's the full moon and he's angry and emotional. it's overdone, it's toxic, it's boring and i don't want to see it. my remus will forever be a an old sweater-wearing, bookworm people pleaser who wanted nothing more than to have friends who loved him despite who he was and he treasured them so dearly when he found them. he carried extra pens and quills in his bag because he knew peter always forgot his, he always came to james' games to cheer him on despite not being interested in quidditch. idk what you people find appealing about remus thinking sirius is a nuisance or annoying when they're dating but it's not <3 he spent years staring at sirius' back during class and being satisfied to just be in his presence because he didn't think he deserved any of it. how could he wish for more when sirius was wrapping an arm around him and whispering the plan to their newest prank? you want me to think the shy boy who looked away anytime sirius made eye contact with him was a smooth talker who found sirius annoying?? at this point he's an oc with remus' face be fr
sirius >>> regulus any day. cry about it
speaking of regulus i hate how the fandom has characterized him. you've created sirius 2.0 with his storyline (while simultaneously slandering sirius' character) and then made him an emo version of remus' already awful characterization. he's not an uwu victim who begged his brother to come with him, he was a blood supremacist who was probably overjoyed that the stain on his family tree was gone. 'i hate you but i love you' describes the black brothers perfectly but that 'but' doesn't undo the hatred they feel for each other. sibling relationship are so complex, especially in a family like theirs, and their relationship would've been turbulent. by the time sirius had ran away i fully believe the hate they felt for each other was bigger than any love they had left. regulus who is a manipulative asshole, regulus who is actively trying to get rid of sirius so he can get to be the heir he thinks he deserves to be will always be more interesting than the way regulus is written in most jegulus fics.
also james would've literally bullied regulus. it's the truth
also, let james be an asshole! let james be a bully! he was a teenager for fucks sake let him be mean and cruel! give him an ego the size of the sun and nothing else to 'make it better'. he was an only child raised in a pureblood family, i would be more surprised if he didn't turn out to be a narcissistic teenager. he was talented and spoiled and wanted everyone to agree with him bc he had never been brought down to earth from his high horse. let him be messy. i don't understand why the fandom has such a problem with complex characters
this fandom hates on severus too much while babygirl-ifying characters who have done the same or worse than him. was he an asshole? yes. was he also a really interesting character that people choose to ignore or push aside bc he's not conventionally attractive? yes. you've idolized barty and evan and regulus, characters who are also canonically death eaters and have done unforgivable things, yet you continue to hate on severus because?? i don't like him either but commenting 'stan bambi' on every single severus edit is a bit too much effort for a character you claim to not give a shit about :/
remus would NOT be friends with barty, evan and regulus. he's a loser and those three would bully him to death
'i wish people would make more marauders era girls content-' 💥💥💥make it yourself. there is PLENTLY of girls content all you need to do is look in the tags (but oh wait you can't look in the tags bc no one in this fandom has apparently heard of fandom etiquette and they're all tagging every ship under the sun on a post about jegulus. trust me, if i wanted to see jegulus content i would go in their tag. now stop tagging it with dorlene and marylily)
idk if this one is that unpopular cause i've seen it around quite a bit recently but the lupins are literally one of the best families and they are so underrated. the relationships between hope and remus and lyall and remus and the effects that remus' lycanthropy has on them is always on my mind fr. you don't need to give every character mommy/daddy issues to make them interesting or complex ❤️
the prank is SO overdone. like every post prank fic is the same shit and i'm tired. sirius felt no remorse, remus called it an unfunny prank, get over it. it can be interesting to explore (especially sirius' thoughts during it and how remus deals with the consequences of one of his best friends betraying him) but so many times the prank has just been used to justify writing remus being so so incredibly shitty to sirius and poking at his every insecurity that at this point i don't even want to read about it anymore. remus had every right to be mad but once again you're ignoring the canon characterization just to make him seem like a badass when he would absolutely not confront sirius about it.
'[girl character] is just the female version of [male character]' literally makes me want to bite someone's head off. how is it that you have time to create whole new personalities for james, sirius, remus and every other male character under the sun but lily, mary, dorcas or marlene don't get that treatment?? slapping sirius' old characterization on marlene or remus' old characterization on lily doesn't make for compelling characters but none of you care enough to actually flesh these women out and make them something more. it's no wonder people complain about them being boring when the main fanon is just slapping on a guy's personality onto them but make it misogynistic. if you can give regulus an entire backstory and justify his every action then you can give the girls some interesting character traits in your works be fr.
