"The Invisible Truth" Au;
A Disney Descendants and Encanto crossover au in which Bruno Madrigal has a vision about a pair of young children on the isle of the lost and "surprise adopts" them from their horribly abusive fathers.
These children were Rick Ratcliffe and Claudine Frollo.
Now known as Rick and Claudine Madrigal, the children of Bruno Madirgal.
This is their story.

Note
Rick and Claudine Madrigal If they got adopted by Bruno headcanons?
Rick and Claudine are raised as older brother and younger sister.
Rick was six. Claudine was three.
Rick was old enough to remember that he wasn't born here.
Claudine remembers a bit. After a while she stops mentioning anything having to do with life before. Rick isn't sure what, if anything, she remembers. So he never mentions it either.
Antonio was very excited to have a new friend his age to play with.
And a younger cousin, too! Finally he's not the youngest anymore! Yay!
He and Rick bonded instantly.
Claudine was scared of everything.
Eventually (like a year later) Antonio finally convinced her to ride on Parce with him.
After that, she loved hanging out in Antonio's room to play with all the animals.
She would sneak rats and mice from Bruno's room into Antonio's so they had more room to run around and play.
Assuming Dolores and Mariano hadn't already married, Rick enthusiastically joins the Let's Marry Dolores and Mariano Off Already Club.

Here's a list of characters that remind me of the Slenderfam, because I can't handle it anymore:
Trenderman
Squidward.

Patrick Bateman, from American Psycho.
GLaDOS, from Protal.
Adrien Brody, from The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Count Olaf, from Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Miranda Priestly, from The Devil Wears Prada.
The Riddler, from Gotham.
Bloberta Puppington, from Moral Orel.

The Cat in The Hat. Yes, I'm talking about the one from the fucking live-action movie.
David, from Camp Camp.
Brett Handman, from Inside Job.
I want to say Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter because a lot of people are expecting it, but I don't rlly see it. I'll leave him as an honorary mention though.
Surrenderman

Shinji, from Evangelion.
Milo Oblong, from The Oblongs.
Peppa Madrigal, from Disney's Encanto.
Peter Graham, from Hereditary.

Jigsaw, from the Saw series.
These are based on my own take for the characters in my AU. I didn't add Offenderman because he's still the original version here.
Might update this as I write more of each character, but for now I want to post this to have some Creepypasta content while I keep finishing the requests

Ballad and Dagger by Daniel José Older
Tuesday, 25 April 2023
A YA entry in the Rick Riordan Presents universe, Ballad and Dagger is unique for not having a pre-existing cultural mythology to draw on, the way the Aru Shah (Indian) or Tristan Strong (American) books do. Instead, Older invents a vibrant culture that feels real, because it has all but the living, throbbing heartbeat of one. He defines the music, the food, the religion, the way communities come together to celebrate and mourn, the way everyone feels both tied together and to an island home that once existed among the waves, only to have been claimed and sunk. (San Madrigal.)
The result is one that touches on a lot of interesting themes in a way that doesn’t talk down to teens or imagine they might not be thinking or talking about some of the topics mentioned in here. The world is effortlessly inclusive without calling attention to the fact and every cultural touchpoint feels natural and true. Which makes it super trippy to remember that everything we have been introduced to doesn’t exist — or rather that it is an amalgamation of some very real things, but with a distance that allows us to talk about it and tell this kind of story.
The book moves fast and I enjoyed it for the most part. I’d definitely recommend this for a YA book club for teens. Honestly, I’d be interested to get their thoughts on this as I think Older is particularly adept at writing for this age experience.
Sometimes a book is a good time and that’s all you can ask for. I am looking forward to the sequel coming out this year. Should be a fun time!

Note
In the au where Claudine and Rick get adopted by the Madrigals, do you think that the heroes from their parents' stories (Phoebus, Both Johns, Lon, Ben, Thomas, Nakoma, Esmerlda, Zephyr, and Quasimodo) know who's kids they are?
If they figured it out, how would they react?
Keep in mind, Rick and Claudine have a 2 year age gap and would have been like 3-4 and 5-6 when taken.
So imagine Thomas and Nakoma's kid takes their new friend home and the kid looks startlingly like Ratcliffe and is carrying around a stuffed Pug?
Or they're at family day at their kid's school and Quasimodo just sees little Claudine running around with a stuffed gargoyle and rats looking alot like an old photo/painting of Claude he found?
They would see a little boy who looks just like Ratcliffe, or a little girl with a striking resemblance to Judge Frollo, and go "Wait a minute..."
And neither of them look a thing like each other or the rest of the family. And they weren't adopted as infants - Claudine was 3 and Rick was 5. So all it needs is a few specific questions around the area; everyone remembers when Bruno showed up with two little kids. They could ask the Madrigals themselves; they're not keeping it a secret. "Oh yeah, my little cousins! My Tio Bruno brought them to us about two years ago and they've been a part of the family ever since! Their parents weren't good parents, you see."
And you know what? The protagonists of the movies would be thrilled! Quasimodo, for instance, would be perfectly happy to know that his erstwhile foster father is not going to raise another child like he was! No worries that Frollo's and Ratcliffe's children will turn out to be just like them! No worries that they will treat their respective children horribly!
May I add that that image of a little Claudine running around with a stuffed gargoyle (of all things - I get that they were a part of Notre Dame, but why, Bruno, why?) is adorable.

Ok, so… :
The film "Encanto" where everything is the same, but this is the universe of Rick Riordan's books about Percy Jackson, and the Madrigal family are the heirs of some Greek god and after the events of the film all their children go to Camp Half-Blood (I mean that Antonio, Mirabelle, Camilo and the rest of their generation (at your discretion) will go to Camp Half-Blood)
says someone who has not watched the Encanto movie and read only a quarter of the first book about Percy Jackson (and there are just over 20 of them in the series)
P.S. I'll just leave it here and won't do anything about it, let others suffer with it if they want
P.P.S. Why do all the posts I start with "Ok, so ..." seem like some kind of nonsense?

Ellen Page Talks LGBTQ Fundraising, Not Watching Movies
Actress and social activist Ellen Page recently witnessed history repeating itself while revisiting acclaimed classic Casablanca. Page noted the 1942 film’s eerie modern-day relevance, “the Nazi presence, but the sort of neutrality of people,” while watching the fraught and tense events – as well as “the romanticism of sacrifice” – unfold as Humphrey Bogart’s Rick Blaine, former freedom fighter and nightclub owner in Casablanca, protects his old flame, Ingrid Bergman’s Ilsa, and her husband Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid) from Nazis. What stood out after taking another look at director Michael Curtiz’s WWII-set romantic drama: “You have these scenes in this cafe where they’re being shown respect because there’s these officials, even though, needless to say, they’re completely disagreeing.”
Page and writer-filmmaker Jason Reitman, who directed the actress in her Oscar-nominated breakout role in 2007’s Juno, set out to reimagine Casablanca for our Trump-led times, which are similarly fraught and tense for those desperately seeking life in America – and for disenfranchised groups already there. Simply titled Live Read of Casablanca and part of the Live Read Series, this is what Casablanca looks like in 2018 thanks to the diversified scope of Page and Reitman’s Dec. 13 live-read of the classic film at Los Angeles’s Ace Theater: female-led, and very queer. Before the event, a benefit for Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, a philanthropic organization working exclusively to advance LGBTQ human rights around the globe, Page was eager to perform with an “inclusive” cast who are “fucking awesome.”
“It’s one of the most iconic love stories with some of the most memorable lines of any film ever,” says the 31-year-old actress by phone. “It just seems perfect to sort of recreate it in the way that we are.”
Live-streaming future reads to reach a larger audience is a “good suggestion,” she acknowledged, but for now, “I really encourage people to go to (Astraea’s) website and learn more about their work and what they do, and if they’re able to support in any way at all that would obviously be really amazing.”
Page’s queering and feminizing of Casablanca marches in line with a Hollywood movement bending to minorities as they occupy the narratives of famed and noteworthy but classically cisgender, straight, white works, from the all-black cast remake of Lifetime’s Steel Magnolias to the Latinx-led One Day at a Time, on Netflix, and women taking on roles first depicted by men in Ocean’s 8 and Ghostbusters. “In some ways, people are almost just realizing it,” Page remarks on efforts to portray underrepresented minorities on screen. She says, until recently, the “privileged” American public (see: white people) “haven’t been cognizant” of giving every kind a seat at the table.
Page, who came out in 2014 and married professional dancer and fellow Canadian Emma Portner in 2018, is forthright about the lack of diversity in some of her own films.
“A movie like Whip It, you know, should be more queer,” she says, blatantly. “It’s just that simple.”

Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, Whip It featured Page as Bliss Cavendar, a Texan teenager living in a fictional town called Bodeen and joining a roller derby team, which includes derby girls played by Barrymore, Kristen Wiig, Eve and Juliette Lewis. “It wasn’t a realistic reflection of the derby world, and I wish that was different,” the actress says. “I love that film, just wanna be clear. Love that film, had a fucking blast, met two of my best friends in the universe on the film. But yeah, of course looking back on that, that’s a bummer.”
Released in 2009 by Fox Searchlight Pictures, Page adds, “It’s a reflection of the time. I’d like to think that it would be different now, and I think it actually does show not much has changed, but some things have.”
As demonstrated in recent years, it’s not too late for past works on the wrong side of diversity, so perhaps the unrealistically heterosexual-laden Whip It could be remedied: “If you made a sequel, I would love it,” Page enthuses. “I wish there was a Whip It 2, and she was lesbian.” She giggles, delighted by the thought. “And living in Austin.”
Cut on roles in 2005’s Hard Candy and Juno, Page’s career has dipped into multiple genres: high-budget thrill rides (two X-Men films, Inception), zombie dramas heavy on queer subtext (The Cured), and gay-themed true stories. In the 2015 lesbian biopic Freeheld, Page portrayed Stacie Andree, the partner of Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore), a gay police officer who fought to have her pension benefits transferred to Andree after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Early the following year, the actress’ collaboration with gay friend and co-host Ian Daniel, Viceland’s Gaycation, aired. The show had the activists traveling to countries like Japan, Brazil and Jamaica to investigate the horrific challenges and distinct cultural characteristics of being LGBTQ abroad.
After two seasons, the show returned in April 2017 for a special presentation that examined LGBTQ life in America post Trump. No more episodes are planned, Page apologetically reveals, but she and Daniel are in the early development stages of “a different project that’s similar,” but “less in terms of a travel show, more focused stories.” She adds, “Not that they’ll be in America, by any means.”
Looking back on Gaycation, Page was humbled by the experience, which she says “changed me.” “I mean, you’re meeting people who, every day, are risking their lives, are activists spending their lives doing that, and sacrifice so much to do that. That’s a level of bravery and courage that I’d like to think I’m capable of, but I’m probably not.”
Meeting transgender activist and famed Stonewall rioter Miss Major for the first season’s finale was an unforgettable moment for the actress when thinking of “a force and a person who is someone who’s ultimately been responsible for so much change for the community.”
After Gaycation, Page has continued to tackle projects that are extensions of her own lesbian identity, such as this year’s The Cured, an allegorically queer zombie film from out filmmaker David Freyne. Recent LGBTQ films evade her simply because “I’ve, like, literally barely watched movies. It’s been a problem.” She immediately retracts: “Not a problem – but the last year or two, quite frankly, I don’t know, but just for some reason I haven’t really watched movies.” Apologizing for missing this year’s impressive slate of LGBTQ films (she did ask for recommendations), Page says she thoroughly enjoyed the “stunning” Tomboy, a 2011 French drama she says is still fresh on her mind.

Seemingly more queer-content creator than consumer, she just wrapped shooting the revival of Armistead Maupin’s 1993 TV adaptation of his Tales of the City books, where she joins original cast members Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis in the 10-part Netflix series, due in 2019. Page refrained from sharing specific details as requested by showrunners, but Netflix’s contemporary Tales is set 20 years later, as Mary Ann (Linney) returns to San Francisco to her ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross) and daughter Shawna (Page), as well as Anna Madrigal (Dukakis) and a motley crew of other 28 Barbary Lane residents.
“I have a love interest, played by Zosia Mamet,” Page says of her co-star, best known for her role on HBO’s Girls. “Zosia’s amazing. She absolutely blew me away. I had such a wonderful time working with her. She is such a phenomenal actor, so yeah, that was awesome.”
And acting alongside Dukakis and Linney: “It’s crazy, right? Yeah, walking in and working with someone like Laura Linney, who is absolutely one of my favorites of all time – and, of course, Olympia – I felt so welcomed,” she says. “You couldn’t be working with more lovely, sincere, they-do-this-job-because-they-just-fucking-love-it (people).”
Says Page, “It’s about connecting with another actor, not to sound all actor-y and cheesy, but that is such a joy, to be in an environment like that. So to have the opportunity to be able to work with someone like Laura, and to be a part of this in terms of the stories and the narratives and the representation, yeah, I feel very lucky that I was included.”

Gretchen Whitmer Wins Democratic Nomination For Governor Of Michigan
Gretchen Whitmer, a former Democratic president in the Michigan state Senate, prevailed her party’s nomination for bos in Tuesday’s primary. As predicted by polls and pundits, Whitmer overcame former Detroit health director Abdul El-Sayed and businessman Shri Thanedar. Her win indicates the enduring strong of Michigan’s Democratic establishment and the influential labor unions who rallied behind her candidacy — and maybe, the limitations of the left-wing capability outside of penetrating off-color fortress. Whitmer, 46, will face Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, 64, champion of the Republican primary, in the general elections held for the open governor’s set. Specialists feel she has a strong shot of restoring Democratic self-control of the governor’s manor after eight years of GOP rule by Rick Snyder, who is currently term-limited. “She guided a very traditional safarus both in terms of the Democratic Party and the regime of Michigan, ” said Matt Grossmann, a political scientist and public opinion expert at Michigan State University. “She was able to hold off some national interest in the end for Abdul El-Sayed and a well-financed campaign from Shri Thanedar.” Michigan’s governorship is a top target for Democrat, who hope to capitalize on President Donald Trump’s unpopularity in a state he prevailed narrowly in 2016. Trump’s approval rating is 36 percent in the Great Lakes State, according to an NBC News poll in late July. After two calls, Snyder is not much more popular. As of April, he had a 38 percent approval rating. Snyder presided over the lead poison of Flint’s water supply and the continuous deterioration of the state’s now infamous roads. Perhaps not surprisingly then, Whitmer led heavily on kitchen-table issues, manager among other issues “fixing the damn roads, ” as she memorably introduced it in a campaign advertising. Through the application of user fees, she plans to create a nation infrastructure bank that they are able to draw additional federal coin to ameliorate superhighways, bridges and irrigate delivery systems. Whitmer are supportive of a host of traditional progressive priorities. She wants to raise the minimum wages to $15 an hour, stipulate state citizens two years of debt-free college or transaction institutionand roll back the state’s right-to-work law. The opposes between Whitmer and her two antagonists were clearest on health care and educational policy. Unlike El-Sayed, 33, and Thanedar, 63, Whitmer does not support state-level single-payer health insurance. She likewise wants to increase the rules of for-profit charter class, rather than do away with them entirely. However, Whitmer successfully argued that her friendlines with the legislative process spawned her a better overseer of liberal priorities than El-Sayed and Thanedar. Despite being in the legislative minority, she helped negotiate the state’s Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act in 2013. The subsequent fiscal year, Whitmer was part of a successful attempt to modestly increase the minimum wage, which is now $9.25 an hour. When Whitmer could not stop conservative legislation, she complained it. In December 2013, the government senator spoke publicly for the first time about being crimes in college during a storey discussion against a law that required maidens to take on additional insurance to get reimbursement for the purposes of an abortion. “I am proud of my progressive preserve, ” Whitmer told a gang of partisans at the mid-July Michigan Democratic Party picnic in Milford. Women are more in tune with what is necessary socially because women are mothers. Debbi Madrigal blockquote > Whitmer first faced agnosticism from parties to the kingpins, like Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan( D ), who honestly tried to recruit U.S. Sen. Gary Peters into the race. She eventually won the backing of virtually every elected Democrat in Michigan. Duggan headlined a rally for her the Sunday before the election. To win, Whitmer raised $6.9 million as of the end of July. An outside group backing her, Construct a Better Michigan, likewise chipped in over $2.2 million. She was nonetheless outspent by Thanedar who dropped in about $11.5 million from his personal fortune. In addition, Whitmer benefited from organized labor’s far reach in the state. Mary O’Neill, a retired professor in Troy, was backing Whitmer because of her commitment to improving arteries and class. O’Neill hadn’t heard much about El-Sayed or Thanedar, but she knew about Whitmer thanks to her organization, the Michigan Education Association. And Whitmer had the advantage of being the only woman on the ballot, in a year when a mobilized core of Democratic maids has helped spur women candidates to victory — often over favored male rivals. Debbi Madrigal, a Plymouth resident perusing the town’s street fair on a red-hot Sunday in mid-July, explicitly quoth Whitmer’s gender when explaining her is supportive of the candidate. “Women are more in tune with what is necessary socially because women are mothers, ” Madrigal said. Like all statewide Democratic applicants, Whitmer, who applauds from East Lansing, stands to gain from high turnout in Detroit. But that could testify a challenge: In recent years when former President Barack Obama was not on the ballot, the city’s voters have not turned out in high numbers. And Whitmer likely has some work to do reunifying the Democratic electorate after a long and bruising primary. Dispatching with El-Sayed, who got a last-minute boost from Sen. Bernie Sanders( I-Vt .), frustrated many of the state’s youngest and most progressive voters. “I don’t think Abdul is done or that he won’t be able to take advantage of having an increased nation and national chart, particularly at a time when the Democratic Party “re looking for” kinfolks with affecting backgrounds and a clear left orientation, ” Grossmann, the public opinion professional said. Expect no fiction, no story, no logic.
This is no work. It's just a compilation of small things.
I've been a roleplay writer for around ten years now and as such I have accounts on Tumblr and Twitter and I also own a roleplay forum on proboards. This serves the only purpose of listing all of my current muses and providing several samples of my writing as them.
So pretty much you'll be reading stuff such as starters or replies that I've wrote to some of my writing partners.
At the begging of each 'chapter' I'll be providing a little bit of context to the scenario revolving around that sample.
At any moment if you wish to have more information about where those threads are playing themselves out, please contact me and I'll gladly provide you the link so you can read the whole thing between me and said writing partners as most of these works are usually public.
And in case you're wondering, Malachai Hemet is my writer alias as Hemet is my writer tag.
Happy readings!
