SAKUATSU (and other rarepair ships) FIC MASTERLIST!

saw someone do this and i just had to give my 2 cents because i have way too much love for these! some of these recs are no stranger to sexual intimacy for a heads up! One thing guaranteed is that all of these are completed, and HEA despite the angst that may come through :)

1. smoke and mirrors

ohmygod. i read this in the plane to new york and MY was i seated reading this whole thing. this sneaky little fic gave me all the domesticity & fluff my heart couldn't handle but alas, as most fake relationship aus do, it also fucking broke me BUT picked the pieces back up very nicely. 10/10.

2. the affective presence of our black and white reruns

lord have merthy. literally pining at its best!! they are both idiots and bad at feelings but good at.. very good at /it/. also you should keep in mind that this fic is inspired by paramore's all i wanted was you and let me tell you nothing bad ever comes out of being inspired by paramore. ever. skts from u-18 camp up until msby jackals.

3. bound

AHHHHH. LITERALLY the crème de la crème of slow burn. Actors au? Check. Killer banter? Check. Gratifying cast of characters? CHECK. ao3 user internetpistol is VITAL to the sakuatsu fanfiction circle, all her works are must-reads! very r-rated. as in this is equal amounts porn and feelings.

4. hand study

THIS IS CRACK. If you need to believe in love again this is literally all you need. It also breaks you for extra measure on the realness. This is also Atsumu with hand fetish reserved only for Kiyoomi but accidently injures it during practice so now he decides to take care of Kiyoomi in his apartment where they do sexy domestic couple shit and slowly fall in love and fuck it up but resolve it again. The perfect ingredients list as u can tell.

5. play among the stars

I usually take a hard pass on sci-fi material BUT HELLO??? SEXY BODYGUARD KIYOOMI AND SEXY CRIMINAL ATSUMU STUCK ON THE MOON FOR 2 MONTHS?? What insane person would pass on that. Also very easy to pick up on despite its content surrounding on space. r-rated.

6. again, until it's perfect

this is utter perfection. I have so much love for skts stupidity and top tier banter and this is just all of that but also gives satisfaction to the heart.

this is literature. like miss ao3 user fairycake can write romeo and juliet but shakespear will never be able to write three sheets to the wind by ao3 user fairycake. lil bit r-rated

kageyama/tsukishima. arranged marriage. strangers to lovers. lyrical writing it almost ALMOST puts t swift to shame. feelings dripped in gold.

2. venus planet of love by fatal

kageyama/kunimi. again with the lyrical writing this is literally the integration of love and poetry.

3. hunger by iphido

akaashi/osamu. even more beautiful writing. 2 souls trying to pick up the pieces of their hearts together i love them.

4. questionnaire by iphido

kageyama/oikawa. poetry through an interview and it's very short but just very sweet.

5. the contest between by batman

akaashi/osamu. this fic has my soul in shambles. it has so much care, research, and love for food and feelings. the chef miya osamu (side dilf) agenda is also just excellently done. yearning seeps through every word and i just love this so much please give it a chance.

Summary:

Neither Kiyoomi nor Atsumu are strangers to casual sex. The reason for that is “a lack of emotional capacity,” as Kiyoomi would say, and Atsumu is “just really horny”. They sometimes meet in the hallways when they pull their victims behind them, heated gazes clashing in the space between them. That they end up sleeping with each other at some point is an inevitability, and so is the rest. They just take a while to realize it. Featuring the complications of room assignments, unintentional domesticity and a lot of mutual dumbassery. Also, the bone-deep exasperation of an entire volleyball team.

and atsumu is the misunderstood guy with severe BPD and low IQ who was caught stalking a girl but he insists that it was for her own safety (?). uk, full on yoonbum pro max but he is actually not a stalker by intention just dim-witted.

they meet during lunch hour, atsumu gets attached, sakusa (who's used to playing with others) decided the blonde would be a good enough cum dump to blow off some steam in the name of dating but oh what's this? he's catching feelings suddenly??? which goes against his whole identity cause hello he ain't supposed to feel love???? he's a whole sociopath for god's sake.

sakusa is confused and restless but he realises soon enough that he /loves/ possesing atsumu not loves as in loves him

yeahhhhh don't know how that would move forward but we can consider a riot and them breaking out of the asylum, just to be caught and kept in tight security, seperated forever.

the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle by kittebasu: THE iwaoi fic of all time, permanently altered my brain chemistry, my friend made me a gift of an embroidered hercules beetle and a quote from this fic and it's one of my most prized possessions

The Chosen One by moonyfest: one of my all time favorites, it's just so good and I love how their relationship develops, it's one of the fics that I reread every few months, nsfw in later chapters

Miya Atsumu, Adored By All (loved by some) by honest_pebble: the sakuatsu fic of all time, my inner atsumu kinnie came out while reading this and I cried multiple times while reading it but holy FUCK was it amazing, I reread this every few months as well, I have it downloaded on my phone lol

i wanna ruin our friendship by roseknight: highschool iwaoi fic, one of the first hq fics i ever read and it's very close to my heart because of it, make sure to look at tags for trigger warnings

the spirit of the resolution by starbeyy: this is my fav sunaosa fic of all time, osamu's complicated relationship with his self esteem really hit me especially when they're getting late night take out, i adore this fic and it's one of my favorites

can i be close to you by radian: kuroken fic where they don't know each other at first but slowly become friends and it's all lowercase but it's so good i promise, super fluffy

Vienna Waits For You by Pouler (poulerslashes): asanoya timeskip fic that's sooooo good in talking about what it's like to grow up and feel the pressure of the world on your shoulders and living up to your potential and expectations, nsfw in later chapters

Black and Blue by MTrash: daisuga au fic, i was obsessed with this fic when i first read it, it's really sad but really good, make sure to look at the tags for trigger warnings, nsfw in later chapters

you're the brake lines failing (as my car swerves off the freeway) by ghostpot: kuroken fic where kenma realizes he's in love with kuroo and spends the entire fic freaking out about it

campfire in your chest by deanpendragon: tsukkiyama fic where tsukishima realizes he's in love with tadashi before kagehina realize they're in love with each other and it's super cute, all of this author's tsukkiyama fics are so good

Liebesträume (Dream of Love) by emivance: sakuatsu rivals to lovers musican au, their dynamic this entire fic is so funny and they're obviously intro each other but are in deep denial about it, nsfw in later chapters

surfacing by meeks00: bokuaka au where they find out their bfs have been cheating on them with each other, one of my fav bkak fics they're so precious, nsfw in chapters 2 and 3

daisy rings and frivolous things (i am deliriously in love with you) by gabstar: bokuaka one shot that I am OBSESSED with, the way their relationship speed runs is my favorite aspect of this fic because its exactly what i imagine their relationship doing

The Space Between Stars by leuralo_l: bokuaka fic where everyone but bokuto knows that akaashi is in love with him, I was so impressed with this fic especially since the author said it was their first fic pls give it a read!!!!!!

wait (I'm on my way) by viverella: sunaosa fic where they're both oblivious to each other's affections and are quietly pining, their relationship is super cute and adorable

Close to the Chest by darkmagicalgirl: kyouhaba fic where they bicker but slowly fall for each other during high school along with background iwaoi, i loved this fic it was so good, some mentioned and blatant homophobia

beautiful monsters by gravitates: ushiten fic with slight angst but damn did it make me feel emotional, ushijima is so soft and tender and loving to tendou, another one of my favs

Cool, detached, casual by fluorophoring: kuroken fic where they try to have casual sex but it doesn't really work and they both spiral lol, nsfw

Breakers by ftld: sunaosa 90s au, god I LOVED this fic and how obvious of a simp osamu is, it's sooooo good, some mentioned/blatant homophobia

Special Relativity and Years by buttonstuck: mega angsty iwaoi fics with the second being an alternate ending of the first fic that has a sad, bittersweet ending that made me cry harder than I have in YEARS, some mild nsfw in the first fic

your whole life on your play by emleewrites: kagehina proposal fic that goes exactly how i picture it would go in canon

What Instinct Can't Teach by kiyokosturtle: chosoyuki and it's sooooo good how to author develops their relationship before the smut lol, nsfw in the last chapter

The Long Con by lyrebirdswrites: an itafushi no curses au that isn't finished yet but is soooooo good, this fic is currently being plagiarized by another author so it's on hiatus for now but I'm hoping the original author gets everything worked out!!!!

sorry i didnt answer this straight away i was reading a 230k words fic that i wanted to finish before i added it here 😭 does anyone know what's wrong with me. therapists hate me

dabihawks rec list!!

burn it all down by dorothycanfly - an au where dabi comes back to the todoroki estate to kill shouto when he's 19 and shouto is 11, but decides instead to take his little brother with him as part of his Grand Evil Masterplan that doesn't quite go as he wanted. this is the fic i always rec first in this fandom as it's the first dabi fic i really read that felt like it Understood Him and really made me go bananas about him. it's dark and twisted and true to what i think his actual mindset would be without demonising him, and also has shouto and him being very close and the way the author writes their dynamic is everything to me like it's so true to a real sibling relationship and id die for them. it gets very smutty in the middle but if that's not your thing the plot also kicks right back up again at 100mph immediately after, and there's also a sequel still being updated that's very promising.

big reputations by phanatics - singer fake dating au!!! i absolutely love dabi's characterisation in this and the celebrity angle is handled soooo well. the miscommunication and slow burn is incredible and that's coming from a bitch who finds both tropes frustrating unless they're done to my very niche standards. im pretty sure i read this fic in one day. im not making graduation i fear.

gunshots and molotovs by ironicallystupid - this is a 14k oneshot where dabi treats hawks' gunshot wound in a distinctly dabi way and then they get drunk. this one really got to me and i think it's bc it's one fic where they feel so true to character while still, for once, both acting their age. a big appeal of dabihawks for me is that they are both ultimately just two guys in their early twenties and seeing them embody that youth and silliness was surprisingly poignant

the 'will you accept this rose?' series by satelliteblue- the famous bachelorette au! if you don't know what i mean by famous, it's bc this fic has a habit of getting people who don't even read mha fic obsessed with it. like it's genuinely addicting. i remember first finding it and being like 'bacherlorette au dabihawks? be so fr' and look where im at now, 355k words later. it's genuinely just such a fun read AND i love the drama of it AND it has the todofam angle AND an actual plot snuck into it effortlessly. one of my fav fics of all time truly and it's still updating!

perspective by theeclecticeccentric - this is the fic i just finished and when i tell you ive powered through all 230k words of it in the past 4ish days. i love the league dynamic in this with the whole found family angle. i'll say it was something i clicked on less bc this kind of au (childhood friends dabihawks brainwashed to forget each other) is what i would normally go for and more bc i have BATTERED the dabihawks tag for all it's worth so i just tried it on a whim, but im so happy i clicked this bc it wound up being so fun! i also love any fic that forces the heroes and villains to ally against the hpsc and this fic does that. instant hit with me.
