A Glimpse at the Future | Lucifer x Reader
Tumblr media
.7K Words | GN! Reader | CW: Children
Lucifer sighed as he saw the smoke slip into his room from beneath his door. Now what had his brothers done? Enough of these pranks already he was tired.
Lucifer walked through the black clouds of smoke unbothered and shielded himself with magic, prepared to open the door to mayhem.
Lucifer swung the door open, glaring, but to his surprise, nothing was there. No brothers, no smoke, no surprise trap.
Lucifer looked puzzled and looked behind him, the room he only just left had changed drastically and he heard a small cough in front of him.
Lucifer looked down and saw a young boy with black hair, parted just like his.
“What’s this,” he asked himself and the boy looked sheepish and held up papers.
Lucifer took them, hoping it may offer some explanation, and read them over carefully.
They did explain things but not everything. The date on the paper was twelve years from his present, and the name at the top was neatly written as Lucious Morningstar.
Lucious looked at him nervously and Lucifer relaxed and smiled.
He smiled at whom he understood was his son and ruffled his hair. Lucious looked surprised but beamed in joy when his father grinned and praised his score.
“Excellent job, Lucious,” he said warmly and handed the papers back.
Lucious cheered to himself and ran towards the dining room.
Lucifer followed cautiously. He wasn’t sure how he got to the future or if this was some grand illusion of his desires but he wanted to explore it either way.
He walked in hand over his chest in surprise to see you setting the table for five.
The House of Lamentation was much quieter, it seemed none of his brothers still lived there. He wasn’t sure if that was his greatest dream or if it was the fact you were there still.
You locked eyes with him and smiled, welcoming him home early.
Lucifer grinned and decided he would play along.
You walked up to him and kissed his cheek, Lucifer wrapped his arms around you and held you in a hug for a long time.
“Aww, did you miss me?” You asked him, chuckling,
Lucifer nodded, “more than you know.”
You looked concerned for a moment, “was work rough today?”
“You could say that…” Lucifer said. This was half true as in the present he’d been doing paperwork to make up for Diavolo wasting time on a grand prank.
Lucifer looked around the room and you led him to his chair. He shook his head and pulled out the chair for you. You blushed and sat down as he scooted you back into the table and took his own seat.
“So…how was everyone’s day?” He asked you and the three children.
“Good!” Lucious exclaimed.
“It was fine,” the girl chimed in quietly and the youngest boy nodded.
The girl had long black hair with a white streak and the youngest boy had fully black hair and his eyes resembled yours.
Lucifer grinned and together the five of you ate the soup you’d made.
You watched Lucifer and smiled. Something was different about him but you decided you’d ask him later.
After he was finished eating, Lucifer saw smoke in the corner of his eyes and frowned. He looked at you one last time and promised, “I’ll see you again soon.”
“Lucifer?” You asked, worried, and stood up abruptly. Suddenly your husband disappeared and the door to the dining room opened.
Lucifer looked puzzled as he looked at his partner and children, all surprised and anxious.
“D-daddy!” Lucian exclaimed and ran to him, hugging him tightly.
“Lucifer what just happened?” You asked, frightened.
He blinked, befuddled, and then began to laugh, “Ah, it was today was it?”
You gave him a confused expression and he sat down to explain.
“Twelve years ago a prank pulled by Satan and Belphie backfired and sent me to the future…the Lucifer you just spoke with was me from many years ago.”
You gasped and your children were equally shocked.
“You haven’t changed at all,” Lucille commented and Lucifer nodded.
“Of course not, if I grew old I’d leave you behind and I don’t intend to do that.” He explained calmly.
You nodded and sighed in relief and in wonder. So all this time Lucifer knew you’d be together with children. Perhaps that’s why he suddenly had more confidence than usual. You checked the calendar and grinned. Twelve years ago exactly had been the day he asked you to marry him. Unlike how he usually behaved it was out of the blue, simple, and a little rushed. You hadn’t minded though, because it meant you’d spend eternity with him.

Uhuh, I got it, maybe everyone being surprised when yuta deals with you being a crybaby
Like maybe you have a reputation for being a cry baby. A scrap your crying a sad movie crying you store ran out of your favorite drink you holding back tears while telling the clerk "no it's ok"
I imagine this being modern au but do as you want 🤣
Alright alright I think I got it🧍‍♀️
Nobody is surprised when you start crying. You were known to be such a sensitive person and nobody blamed you for it. The jujitsu world was harsh but you tend to cry over the smallest things. That being a sad movie, seeing old people eat alone, seeing stay animals on the streets and worst. Your friends where so used to it that sometimes they watched you cry or waited for Yuta to come along and console you. They’ve never seen it really happen though. Usually they would leave the two of you behind and go on with there mission/day.
Then Yuta had to suddenly leave to Africa and well you were a mess. They had absolutely no idea on how to deal with you. Maki would try to make you feel better by being positive.
"We’ll look at the bright side you saved yourself twenty bucks." Maki said as the both of you watched a 13 year old take the last makeup product you were really looking forward too. It was trending all over Japan and you were dying to get your hands on it. You had to wait for pay day to come in so you could get your hands on it though.
You turned to look at Maki with eyes already watering.
"But I wanted it for days now! What’s a kid going to do with makeup?" Tears start to roll down.
Maki looked at you and then the little girl contemplating the solution in her head."Fine, I’ll fight the little twerp." Maki said pulling her sleeves up.
You quickly grab your arm and shake your head telling her it was fine. Maki panicked not wanting to cause a scene in the store. She then patted your back and continued to say more positive things but nothing seemed to work. At the end you both went home as you cried.
Panda and Inumaki tend to try to make you laugh. As you guessed it doesn’t work. It seemed like everything they’ve done has failed.
Then the next year rolled around and Maki would pray that someone would be able to put up with you. That also didn’t happen sadly. The first time they witnessed you cry was over your Ice cream that fell onto the ground. They all looked shocked and looked at the second years for help.
Today you decided to cry over a failed test grade. You held the paper in your hands as you looked at the biggest 69 smacked on the paper. Gojo made sure to emphasize that you failed by putting a crying cat sticker on it.
Panda turned to see your eyes watering. He slowly turned his paper around to hide his passing grade. "It’s okay y/n I also failed."
You look up at him with such a sad face. "You’re the worst liar!" You cry harder. Everyone knew panda was one of the smartest. Before Maki could even step in to try to help out she was stopped by a hand. They all looked to see it was Yuta who was back. Panda wanted to yell that he was here but Maki punched him in the arm. It was a blessing that Yuta came back early from his trip. She didn’t have to worry about you anymore.
He came in from behind you and gave you a tight hug. Trying to keep your hairs away from your face at the same time.
"Wow y/n you almost passed! You’ve improved so much since I left." Yuta said as he looked at your paper with tear drops all over it. "I already took this test when I was abroad and flunked it. (Biggest lie ever) Do you think we could study together so we can score higher?" Yuta asks looking at you for approval.
You give him a small nod as you wipe your face. you didn’t know who you were talking to but you were okay with studying with someone else. "No more crying okay? You won’t be able to see what you got wrong while we go over it." He pulled a tissue from his pocket and wiped your face. He tends to always carry tissue because of you and well it comes in handy. Maki almost jumped out of her seat when she saw you stopped crying.
You finally look at him with red eyes. Then your eyes widen when you noticed who it was."Since when you were back? You where gone for so long and- and I was so sa" You say as tears started to roll down again not being able to finish your sentence. He laughs and hug you tighter than last time.
"I just got back! No more crying y/n, if you stop crying we can go get that makeup product you kept writing to me about." He says as he pats your head.
"About that, it’s pretty much sold out everywhere." Maki said
"Then we’ll just preorder it, or wait till it drops again. It’s not gone forever, for the mean time we can try out new products." Yuta said as he held you. You were still crying but not because of the grade or the product. It was because of how much you missed him and he understood that. He was going to make sure to spend the whole day with you no matter what.
Really short and sweet :)

what does reader think of all the students at jujutsu tech ? is she like a proud mum when she meets yuji and nobara and is like "my son made friends" ? does megumi come home kn the weekends ? are they all sad when he officially starts there ?
trust that reader is everyone’s mom figure. she is the only person with any common sense, the most sane out of them all. if there’s a question that needs to be answered, reader should be the first person anyone goes to (someone might say otherwise but still)
satoru might say that you need to be a little “crazy” to be a jujutsu sorcerer, but you think he’s just projecting.
and you tell him this when you’re discussing megumi, talking about him living away from home—because jujutsu is immersive. it’s something you’re supposed to devote your lives to and you know this.
you do. really.
i mean, you lived there. you went to class with other sorcerers—satoru—and you know that you can’t half ass a career in jujutsu. you know.
but still, you can’t help but lay in bed with satoru and talk about megumi and ask him “does he really have to live there?” you’ll stare at satoru’s face. his half vacant eyes, tired from a day of work and all three of you. “he could come home at night and eat dinner. he could drive over with us.”
“what would the other first years say?”
“they wouldn’t have to know.”
you know you sound a bit naive. like a kid. but, honestly, didn’t satoru fall in love with you when you were one. why should it matter to either of you?
“what do you think nanami and haibara would’ve thought if you went home every night when you came to school?”
you give him a look, half joking. in no world would that have even been possible for you.
“okay,” he rolls his eyes. “what do you think suguru would’ve thought about me? if i went home every night to the gojo clan? or shoko?”
“they both made fun of you anyway.”
“megumi wants to go,” satoru reminds you like you don’t already know it. “do you want him to feel separated from his classmates?”
“stop,” you tell him, groaning into the side of his head. his hair smells like gumdrops and plums.
“i’m just saying,” satoru kisses behind your ear, his go-to method of distraction. “he’s a man.”
“he’s not.”
satoru shakes his head against yours, not saying anything.
“he’s not. you’re not even a man.”
the boy in question grins like this is what he was waiting for you to say. “and i still lived in the dorms, a building away from you.”
you sit up suddenly, thinking. “what if megumi falls in love with a classmate?”
satoru laughs.
“no, i’m serious—“
still, when megumi moves into his dorm room, you don’t even attempt to dissuade him. he seems… as giddy as he can get, carrying his boxes around campus like he didn’t spend half his childhood following you or satoru around.
you’re immensely glad that you agreed to work there with him in this moment. satoru says he has no idea when the other first years will show up—as per usual—and you don’t want megumi to be alone for long.
so it’s fortunate that satoru can introduce him to the now second years, and you can stand along slide megumi all the while, grinning at your pupils and nudging megumi to be polite.
you don’t get to watch satoru smile at your overprotective tendencies or proud-motherly instincts. he finds it… slightly adorable (and insanely attractive) to watch you fuss over your son like he’s a tiny little doll you can dress up.
and really, you’re just glad that megumi isn’t afraid of all of this like you were. that he had someone—two people—to show him the reins. that satoru is going to be there beside him the whole time, you just a classroom away.
yeah, you think, for just once, it’ll all be fine.
and then you get to hear all about satoru’s teaching methods from your new students (which ensues a whole… months worth of arguments).

Grounded (for til college)
CBBH-verse: Harry and Ron are read their Miranda Rights after the Flying Car Catastrophe of Second Year as requested by fans of the CBBH series 😊
Tumblr media
Over the past eleven years, there have been many family meetings amongst the Potter, Black, Lupin, Weasley, Longbottom and Lovegood tribe.
A family meeting was called when a five-year-old Draco and Harry began fighting over who got to perform the big brother duties for Jasmine Potter, and then again a year later for Aurora Black.
A family meeting was called when every glass, vase, pot, and basket in the manor were turned over to 'stop nargles from hiding in them' (it was Luna).
A family meeting was called when someone moved all of the pots and pans in the house onto the roof (it was Harry).
A family meeting was called when someone started drawing moustaches on all of the pictures and portraits on the walls (it was James).
A family meeting was called when Fred and George pranked Neville by hiding his toad, Trevor. Each member of the household spent three hours looking for him – Lily later found him hidden in her underwear drawer.
Another family meeting was called for going through people’s underwear drawers.
Family meetings were called quite frequently, what with the number of members these families had within them. They were called for fights, for updates, for announcements and for check ins.
But there are two things that have never happened since these families began calling family meetings:
Never, not once, has James Potter ever called a family meeting. And never once has a family meeting been called whilst the children were away at Hogwarts.
Until today.
“Is it really necessary I’m here?” Regulus drawled as he leaned against the wall behind you in the headmaster’s office as he studied his nails. “I mean, I don’t even have a spawn to punish.”
“Sshh,” Remus spat loudly from his spot beside you standing at attention like a soldier. “You’re gonna get us in trouble.”
“Dad’s mad guys...” Sirius mumbled from your other side.
“Is it bad I kinda feel sorry for Harry and Ron?” you asked your husband quietly.
He shook his head in response. “Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so mad.”
“Please, 10 galleons he doesn’t even give them a warning.” Regulus added from his place.
Sirius scoffed. “Oh, you’re on.”
The murmurings were interrupted when the two twelve-year-olds were ushered into the office with Dumbledore and McGonagall trailing behind them.
Before anyone could make sense of what was happening, Molly Weasley stood from her seat beside her husband and began screeching.
“RONALD WEASLEY. WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING?”
Ron’s face brightened to the likes of his hair as he tried to hide behind Harry. James stood beside Molly with his arms crossed.
“Okay, I know now’s not the time.” You whispered to your husband, “But James’ arms look really good when he stands like that.” which was met with an exaggerated nod of his head.
“When he’s less mad, we’ll tell him.”
“It was the platform! It was charmed or something and wouldn’t let us on and we missed the train!” Harry tried to argue.
“So, you opted to steal the Weasley’s car and drive it across the country!?” James asked incredulously.
Harry instantly deflated.
“It was reckless, it was stupid, it was dangerous.” He continued as he started to pace the room, eyes never leaving the forms of the two second years. You gulped loudly on their behalf.
“You could have been seen. You could have been hurt. You could have died.” He carried on.
“Your father is now going to be facing an inquiry at work and it is all your fault!” Molly added.
Remus’ eyes furrowed as he leaned into your side. “Well, I mean his father did illegally charm a muggle vehicle...” But you elbowed him hard when the death stares of Molly and James turned towards you.
“You have absolutely no idea the kind of trouble you could have caused. That you have caused.” Molly continued as she returned her attention to the boys.
“You two have always been mischievous, which I feel I have taken in stride because you are, after all, the product's of Marauders. But this? This exceeds mischievous. This borders insanity.” James said severely. You and Remus exchanged a wide-eyed gaze.
“Mr. Potter and I have discussed your punishments, young men.” Molly stated as she considered the two boys in front of her. But it was James who read them their sentence.
“You will spend the entire summer working at Uncle Moony’s bookstore.”
This was met with a “what!?” cried out from Ron, Harry, and Remus.
“Why do I have to be the bad guy?!” Remus cried in distress.
“I don’t think you are, Moons.” Sirius said with a chuckle. He turned to regard his friend when he saw a look of understanding cross your features.
“I think it’s Regulus.” You clarified for the werewolf with a smirk.
Sure enough, the three of you turned to see a disturbingly wicked grin spreading across Regulus’ face.
“They’re just lucky Lily was at work and couldn’t be here for this.” Sirius muttered as you all turned your attentions back to the boys. “They’d be working for Regulus ‘til college.”

☯️My Senpai (Student!SatoSugu x Student!Reader ft Student!Ieiri Shoko)☯️
A/n: The canonical prequel of Ticklish Remedy aka the Cursed Seer AU!
You the late transfer, getting along with your fellow first years, while also being dote on by your senpais.
There is an allude to an ongoing mystery with you in this AU that is kinda obvious, crack kinda nonsense from everyone here, mentions of ShokoHime, and SatoSugu be kinda chaotic in this, I did the best I could to make it short but sweet!
PLEASE DONT PLAGIARIZE, STEAL, REPOST, COPY AND/OR TRANSLATE MY FANFIC CONTENT. Reblog, like, and follow instead please and thank you.
Tumblr media
You're a walking mystery.
No family.
No home.
Just a wandering soul that was discovered passed out by the entrance, collapsed before the first torii gate.
Sensing the shift in balance as an abnormal source appeared out of the blue right at the doorstop, Gojo was the first to find you, followed closely behind by Geto.
Your eyes were closed, lost in subconsciousness.
But in your mind's eye, you could visualize everything transpiring. You could hear them clear as day. Gojo's curly lips as he held you in his arms, brushing your hair aside to see your face more.
“Like a little kitten~ Kawaii~”
“Less flirting, you. Best to take her to Shoko.” Geto murmured as he took you in his arms to carry you all bride-like.
“You're blushing though~” Gojo snickered.
“Shut it.” Geto's kick was halted by Infinity.
“You likey, me likey~” Gojo sang as they started climbing those stone steps.
Those two nosey felines peaked in as you awoke a while later after Shoko's healing did the trick, a cig between her quirked lips.
“Cutie pie.” Patting you on the head, she gave you a lollipop. “For being a good patient.”
“Hey! I want some!” Gojo barged in loud enough to startle you in bed, grabbing some right out of the opened bag nestled in the desk chair. “I get sweets on top on seeing this sweetie up and about for real!”
“Good to see you awake, um …” Geto's awkward trail off as he rubbed the back of his neck, not knowing your name.
“Y/n L/n.”
Those three had big sparkling eyes of wonderment the moment you replied. Even your name sounded wonderful to them.
Like, your very presence was swaying them all.
“Ieiri Shoko.” She saluted.
“Suguru Geto.” He bowed a bit.
“Satoru Gojo.” He winked.
Blushing up at their greetings gave an extra kick for you to feel energized.
Enough to change into one of Shoko's spare tees, sweatpants, and sandals before the trio brought you before Yaga-sensei who met you inside a shrine of the school, introducing yourself to the newfound principal.
After affirming your backstory and situation thus far, you were put on the spot and tested for your chance to stay, facing off against one of his cursed corpse dolls. A giant bear with boxing gloves.
Your eyes burned and gleamed bright as moving pictures appeared in your mind.
As they zipped up to you, you felt something click within.
In that next moment, your feet moved on their own.
Your desire to move had you zipping in blurry speed all over, exhilaration racing through your veins.
Kicking the bear right into the wall, leaving cracks in its dent sized hole.
Shoko snapped a pic whereas the guys both whistled lowly.
It all went by in a snap.
“Not bad. For a sapling. However!” He pried his wiggling bruised doll from the wall, cradling and patting the whimpering little thing. “Everyone has their reason for becoming a sorcerer. What is yours?”
“I have nowhere else to go … no one else to turn to.” That was all you could rely on because your recollection on how you teleported here was still foggy but there was nothing else to do but move forward and hope the truth comes to light in time.
“If this is my gift … my innate talent … my newfound purpose then … is to take advantage of it to the fullest. And if saving lives can come with that, then fine. As long as I have food, a roof over my head, and get paid for it, that is.”
Yaga-sensei turned to the second years who looked anywhere but him, whistling, at the mention of getting paid. “Very well.” Yaga bowed to you. “Welcome to Jujutsu High.”
You bowed in return when the clapping and congratulations from your new senpais had your face tinted like a flustered rose.
☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️☯️
“Suguru?”
“Hmm?”
“Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen?” Sitting against the vending machine, Gojo's blue raspberry lips curled up, directed at you as you chatted with your fellow first years.
“She has a name, ya know.” Geto's pineapple tinted lips pursed.
“And our precious kouhai to boot~!”
“Staring at her so much will only unsettle her.”
“Slowly growing curse energy level. Innate technique still developing. Almost as if she's just become a cursed newborn –”
“Terrible word choice.”
“These eyes can fully read her … but it still feels like she's hiding something.”
“Everyone’s entitled to have secrets.”
Only a week has gone by and already you were part of the IT crowd.
Clad in your new uniform, you had walked out of the combini with Nanami on one side and Haibara on the other, plastic bags of popsicles in hand as your senpais tasked you three with buying them, passing them out as you plopped a (favorite flavor) popsicle in your mouth.
Haibara got chummy with you, chattering about anything right away with his coconut soaked lips madly while Nanami commented here and there with those lemon lips but looking at ease with you two there.
Gojo chuckled, dumping his popsicle and wrapper into the nearby trash can. “How interesting~ This'll be fun~”
Despite barely meeting the qualifications of becoming a sorcerer, you gave off such a comforting assuring presence.
Everyone flocked to you. The curious, genuine soul amiss the cursed chaos that is this kind of life. Among this crew. A rare special enigma …
“L/n-chan~ Walk with me~ Talk with me~Adore me~!” Gojo appeared before you, floating right there, embracing you in a squeeze.
Burning face aside, the word slipped out before you could process it.
“No.”
Haibara's gasp, Nanami coughing out a snort in his fist, Shoko's kiwi glossed smirk, and Geto's surprised but amused face were all a pale contrast to Gojo's guffawed face as he shook you, oblivious to how your insides fluttered so damn much from his actions.
“Huh!? Why not!? I'm your senpai! The strongest one there is! You have to do what I say!”
“You and Geto-senpai are the strongest together, you hurtful baka.” You reminded the prime fact that has been etched in your mind and soul.
Geto's pink dusted cheeks made him that much more dashing in your eyes as he pulled you out of Gojo's arms. “Thank you, L/n-chan.” He then smacked Gojo upside the head. “Baka.”
“Suguru, I didn't mean that! Forgive me!’ The albino shredded waterfalls, embracing the stewing teen who easily broke free from the lanky grip.
You hurried over to hide behind Geto's bulky frame, peaking out at Gojo before blinking up at Geto with those anticipated e/c eyes earning an enriching laugh from him. “Yosh yosh~” Geto patted your head to your bashful self. “Forgive him. He's still learning the mundane ways of decency.”
Haibara and Gojo gasped dramatically in unison, Nanami looked cross eyed at the escalating nonsense, and Shoko took another popsicle in.
“You're just as bad as me, ya know.” Gojo poked him insistently in the cheek.
“Satoru, your prideful obnoxiousness isn't gonna win her over.” Geto lightly smacked his hand aside.
“It won you over, didn't it~?”
Gojo's sly smirk and Geto's flaming face had Haibara raspily squealing, Nanami covering his mouth to stop that noise, Shoko giving a bland whoop call and you this close to getting a nosebleed.
“Come on, Suguru~ Flex them muscles and brains for our sweet kouhai if you're so confident like you do for me~” Gojo flirted.
“We shouldn't overwhelm her right off the bat you idiot!” Geto hissed.
“What is happening?” Nanami was mortified.
“Our senpai are so brazen … it's inspiring!” Haibara was starry-eyed, seeing nothing wrong.
“The moronic couple have broken their own world record.” Shoko hummed as she was recording with her phone to show Utahime later.
Blue and almond clashed when a supple soft form appeared between the two, taking each of their hands in your own, tugging on them just to get them to hold hands themselves. “Don't fight because of me. Please.”
Arrows pierced the pair's hearts; red dusting from cheeks to their ears, with light in their eyes at the supportive small softie that is you.
“Kawaii~” Gojo hummed.
“Angelic~” Geto breathed out, stunned.
“Stubborn but reasonable … I like you.” Shoko laughed a bit; her popsicle stuck in between her lips instead, pulling you out from between them, hugging you from behind. “Maybe I'll keep you for me and Utahime-senpai to share.”
. . .
“Eh?”
Moving pictures flashed in your mind for a moment.
Holding their hands.
Being carried away in their arms.
Laugher ringing out through the bright scene.
They came in so quick.
They were gone the next.
“Eto?” Your dot eyes blinked dubiously.
“We call dibs on her, Shoko! Right Suguru!?”
“Wha – ?”
“Damn it, fine.”
You yelped as they each took an arm of yours and easily pulled you out of Shoko's hold, using their arms to carry you in their own makeshift arm throne, running fast enough to leave dust in their wake.
“Suck it Shoko!” Gojo hollered over his shoulder.
“I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested! Sorry Shoko!” Geto yelled back in a jumble.
“Everyone!” Your panicked yell echoed along with their manic laughter as you three blinked out of view.
“GoGe throuple it is. Damn it.” She didn't sound too upset as she sent the recording to her bae before taking the bags you dropped amidst the chaos as she followed their path.
“Our senpai are idiots.” Nanami's head dipped in shame as he followed.
“But bold! I like it!” Oh Haibara, always the optimist.
As the winds blew hard and the sun gleamed for the optimistic future that laid ahead of you, you were suddenly lowered down. Your heart was ready to soar out of your chest.
The vision came true.
But chalking it up as coincidence would be best suited until more came into fruition to confirm their legitimacy.
Perhaps then, using them as a guide would help reveal the missing pieces in the puzzle that is you. How you came to be here. These newfound abilities of yours that were steadily growing as we speak. And your otherworldly charm that lures everyone in. These two especially.
Tilting his shades up to rest on his head, Gojo's eyes twinkled with deviousness as he cheekily giggled. “Y/n~ How lucky you are to have two strong senpai looking after you~”
“While part of me still finds this insane, I suppose being Jujutsu sorcerers in training entitles us to embrace the craziness. Right, Y/n-chan~?” Geto's toothy smirk made you just as nervous as it did anticipating what's to come.
You gave off steam as you hid your burning red face in your hands, earning you breathy laughs from those two as they waved at your fellow schoolmates that were finally catching up to them.
What a way to start things off.

“on the count of three. one…”
“it’s not fair. i got a lot of chips.”
“two…three!”
at once, four bags with spooky illustrations were turned upside down, and at once, the sound of wrappers crinkling and solids crashing onto the joint up desks in the centre of the classroom created a mass of unpleasant sound.
“satoru, get away! your pile will mix with mine!”
the bags were shaken extra thoroughly to make sure nothing was caught or remained inside, and were then discarded on the floor with loud swooshes as they cut through the air.
“oh, come on.” shoko stared in exasperation at the boys' heaps of various candies, chocolates and bags of chips. “why do you two always get the biggest piles?”
“they can’t resist my charm.” gojo puffed out his chest, while suguru only gave him a deadpan look.
“ready to count?”
the group nodded and the overlapping crinkling noises resumed as hands dived in to sort through the seas of treats of all different sizes and colors.
halloween, out of all holidays, was one your second year group was always particularly enthusiastic about. it had become a sort of tradition to dress up and go out trick or treating in the neighbourhoods near the school, only to meet back later in the evening to tally up each individual’s candy amount and see who ended up with the largest haul.
the rules were simple: whoever had the largest combination of candies and chocolates won. chips did not count.
satoru and suguru were usually neck and neck in this competition to you and shoko’s immense frustration. suguru had won the first year, satoru the last. the slimey bastards knew the best neighbourhoods to visit and which suckers would be the easiest to charm into receiving a larger haul.
you, especially, were determined to claim a victory of your own, taking into account all the best neighbourhoods yourself. you were quite satisfied with your haul this year, and felt that it might be able to rival your friends’ usual heaps.
“a hundred and seventeen!” satoru was the first to declare, slumping back in his seat with a proud smirk and his arms crossed over his chest. “try beating that.”
“ninety six.” shoko groaned as she threw down the last piece of chocolate into her counted pile, reclining back in defeat.
“one hundred and seven.” suguru finished with a similar defeated tone, leaning a hand on his cheek.
“a hundred and twenty!” you cheered when you finished your count, jumping in joy over your victory. you were right. this year's haul was fruitful. satoru straightened in his seat in disbelief with a loud “what?!” as he hovered over his seat to examine your pile.
“whoa, off by only a few? some bad luck.” shoko chuckled as she reached across the desks toward your pile. “it’s about time someone else got the lead over you two. let me have a chocolate bar.”
satoru huffed, collapsing back into his chair and pressing his cheek up against the table as he watched you start to dig into your pile of goods.
“you two needed to be humbled.” you stated matter of factly as you tossed a piece of chocolate into your mouth. your makeup was starting to wear off, accessories of your costume removed and set down somewhere in the classroom after a tiring night out.
“don’t get so proud, now. you won by one.” satoru grumbled through the plastic fangs in his mouth. his cape draped lazily over his figure as he slumped, shielding him in a sort of mourning figure.
“still won.” you rebuttled simply and proudly, shooting him a sickly sweet smile as you turned your nose up at him. satoru’s lower lip jutted out in frustration. suguru watched the exchange with raised brows and a roll of his eyes.
Tumblr media
“you had a hundred and twenty five.” suguru said suddenly on his walk home from the school with satoru, their hauls secured back into their bags at their sides. satoru had taken out his fangs and was sucking on a lollipop when he turned his head in confusion.
“huh?”
“you had a hundred and twenty five candies by the end of the night. i heard you counting on our way back. why’d you say otherwise?”
satoru blinked owlishly before taking the lollipop out of his mouth. he stared up at the dim yellow street light as if in thought.
“well, y/n was really eager to win. embarrassingly eager, even.” satoru rolled his eyes. “seemed certain of their victory.”
“so?”
satoru was quiet for a moment, still staring up at the sky. “i didn’t want to ruin that.”
if there were ever times suguru was caught off guard by something satoru said, this moment took the crown. he stared in surprise at satoru’s reflective expression, his pale cheeks tinted pink from the cool crisp air.
this expression however, got satoru defensive, and he stubbornly turned back toward him with a defiant look on his face. “what about it?”
suguru eventually blinked and straightened. “nothing. that was nice of you.”
“now i’m regretting it though.” satoru tried to diverge, sticking the lollipop back into his mouth. “with all that bragging.”
“that’s how you sound, you know.”
if suguru wasn’t busy keeping going over a game plan for securing a large haul, perhaps he would have been able to catch on to the tender look on satoru's face as he basked in your enthusiasm over the decorations and the costumes and the atmosphere. if suguru wasn't keeping track of his own pile, maybe he would’ve been able to spot satoru gently placing a handful of his own chocolates into your bag while you, at one point, left it unattended. and maybe if he wasn’t so amused by satoru’s "distress" over being outdone, he would’ve been able to catch on to the small smile that danced on his lips as he watched you celebrate your victory and enjoy your favorite chocolates.
maybe if suguru wasn’t so tired he’d would've been more attentive, use the clues to make a connection that would make excellent blackmail. but the night stretched out longer than usual and he was already thinking of all the missions he’d be out on due to the onslaught of curses produced tonight.
this was to satoru’s immense relief. and as he parted ways with suguru, he reflected back on their conversation and hoped that you had been too enamored with your victory to notice anything either.

YAY! i greatly enjoyed your shoujo au!!! it was amazing to read, ty for your contribution to humanity u r doing god's work frfr!!! would you be willing to write a hanahaki au for the twst second years? (preferably an angsty ending, but if you would prefer something happier, that's 100% fine with me!! i'm not picky!!) 🤭♥️
hanahaki + second years
hanahaki: a fictional disease caused by unrequited love in which you vomit blood and flower petals (flowers tend to relate to the person you) and although there is an option for treatment, you become numb to emotions. if you don’t get treatment, you die.
(I decided to add how the twst seconds years would treat the disease— will they get treatment or not?)
not very good angst warning under the cut!!!
riddle rosehearts
riddle grew up alone, mostly. every time he seeked for comfort, for company, it’ll fall apart. it would always go wrong, he’d lose everything the moment he got too greedy.
riddle still struggled to properly face trey and chen’ya after all those years, even if he got better with it. it was too embarrassing, too lame. he felt like a loser. a sore loser who deserved nothing. oh sevens, did the world have something against him?
things were looking on the bright side. he was out of his mother’s furious grip, he has more freedom than he ever did (even if he goes by strict rules) he could make as many friends as he liked and hang out with them as much as he liked.
he still preferred being private, however. he liked his friends, you included. they were more understanding of him than any other member of the school. although he’d twist and turn in bed when he thinks back to his overblot (how embarrassing of me! he thinks) he would still much prefer being with those who accepted him a long time ago.
you weren’t too big on sweets. you liked them, sure, but the more you ate the more your mouth felt itchy. knowing riddle’s sweet tooth, sometimes, you’d secretly pass your unfinished slice of cake or unfinished strawberry tart to him. riddle rosehearts, the strict, germaphobic, lowkey a dictator, heartily took it.
if it were anyone else, he’d just stare at them in disbelief. but the thought that you bit into the very sweet treat, it threw him over the moon. he’d read of indirect kisses before, in cheesy romances he read in his spare time. he doesn’t know if this is actually an indirect kiss, but don’t make fun of him, he’s still learning!
riddle has a lot of firsts, like the first time he tried that strawberry tart, or the first time he learned that playing with friends is fun, or the first time he ever overblotted, or the first time he fell in love.
you were his first love.
he turns red when alone, imagining your face and your laughter and your joy. your silly mishaps that he has no heart on lecturing you over, or your inability to understand some of the assignments. he finds all aspects of you cute— wonderful? he doesn’t know how to describe what he’d feeling, but it gets him all giddy.
he’s frustrated often, the way he started blushing violently when you ever get in close contact with him and how you always, always seem to be unaware of this. oblivion would send you to hell.
he’s been feeling quite nauseous lately, probably because of his failed attempts of clumsily sending you signals about how he feels.
it was to a point where he threw up… petals? petals…??????? oh my god, he’s throwing up petals!!!
riddle distinctively remembers reading about this during his first year, a disease of romance, love, and failure.
his heart sinks. maybe that’s why you failed to notice.
things never go his way, riddle thinks. he’s always feeling alone. every time he gets greedy for comfort, he loses it at the highest point of his life. when things are getting better, it takes turns for the worse. that’s why riddle likes to follow the rules.
by his third year, riddle’s back to being his strict, controlling prefect. except something’s different, he’s not as angry anymore.
that’s to be expected, though. ever since the surgery, riddle has never been the same.
ruggie bucchi
he has grown up to treasure everything he has.
ruggie isn’t as financially stable as others, he wasn’t lucky to be fortunate enough to get what he wants, whenever he wants.
so when he does get what he wants, ruggie makes sure to keep it close to his heart like it means everything. most of the time, it does mean everything, all of it. his life.
he hardly gives away his things (please don’t mention the kids at the slums, he’ll turn awfully shy.) and takes anything he’s given.
when you would give him the tiniest amount of food, he’d gladly snatch it from your hands and walk away snickering.
easy target for food is what you are, he thinks.
most of the time, when people give things away to him, ruggie just assumes that it’s unwanted. he’d take leftovers no problem. it’s only when you’d constantly hand things to him, always have something to give him and remember he exists, does he think you’re odd. I mean, he’s fine with taking the forgotten leftovers, but what could he possibly do when you don’t forget him?
watch ruggie clumsily fiddle around with his fingers, scanning the area for your presence. he has learned to not worry, as you always manage to come find him everyday without fail. he feels noticed.
he starts to crave for that attention.
ruggie treasures things. he keeps them close in his heart very carefully. but what would he do when you steal his heart instead? where can he hide all the things that mean everything to him?
somehow, he doesn’t mind. he wants you to see him more, ruggie bucchi, his true self.
the crave he has for you is for some odd reason, unmet. you’re oblivious to his shy antics, the way his ears turn flat when you walk away or the way he holds onto the hem of your shirt just for a second longer.
notice him.
notice him.
notice him.
when you see the way he unconsciously covers his mouth whenever you meet eyes with him, or the how he’s constantly going to the infirmary, will you finally notice him?
there’s a trail of your favourite flowers.
ruggie bucchi keeps all the special things close to his heart. when you take his heart away, how else can he express his pathetic, unrequited love? by coughing up a disease ruggie would’ve called embarrassing and shameful if it weren’t for you.
azul ashengrotto
azul is sensitive. he notices things way too easily. the tiny, insignificant details of someone and how they react, he will notice. that is how azul finds out how a person truly feels about him.
even if azul and that other person were considered close friends, azul would still notice the tiny little details that make him unlikable to them even just a little. it’s been a habit for as long as he could remember.
everyone always had something they disliked about azul. it was fine with him, that was normal. everyone dislikes everyone about anything. it’s not like it deters long lasting relationships. azul shrugs it off, it doesn’t bother him. it’s comforting, even, knowing what people think about him.
so it was obvious to say it was near-horrid when no matter how much time azul spent time with you, he could not spot anything off about you, anything that said you didn’t like him.
as much as azul notices how people act around him, he also notices other people. he knows all their flaws, their good sides and their bad sides. even if he couldn’t read your thoughts about him at all, he still expected to see something out of the norm about you, a bad trait, something that made you human.
to him, you had none.
were you god? how come you were near-perfect in his eyes? during cold months, the tips of your nose and ears would flush pink like a cute plum while azul turned embarrassingly red. he thought it was ugly and didn’t make him look good, but there nothing to prove that you thought the same. he couldn’t tell anything about you at all.
you were like a confusing puzzle piece to him. unsolvable, unreadable, flawless. perfect.
it took a while to adjust, but his unwavering respect for you turned into wavering thumps of his heart and dodging eyes. maybe you weren’t perfect after all, maybe azul just likes you.
the terrible urge to impress you grew stronger everyday.
he wanted to look as perfect as you did to him.
but how can he possibly ever look perfect,
when he is sick?
hovered over the toilet, azul clutched his chest as petals slid out of his mouth as if it were apart of him. well, it is apart of him, I guess. his love for you is one with him after all.
azul is sensitive, but he tries not to show it. not only is he good at catching the little things, he’s quick to anger or get hurt. the best he can do is hide them. so he hides the feeble emotion he calls love and comes back after winter break just as the same. he’s dutiful and runs his business like he normally would, and still hangs out with you time to time. he just feels more… empty? you’ll never know why he seems to be this way, no one really knows about the surgery.
jade leech
jade is often avoided by many people.
people find him creepy, odd, off-putting, unnerving… and more comments he hasn’t bothered to find out about.
those names don’t really bother him. in fact, he enjoys it. he loves watching people squirm in fear over something he says out of the blue. It’s exciting to watch a person try to decide if they should run away or not, unaware of jade’s capabilities.
he’s used to people avoiding him. for the sacrifice of entertainment, he isn’t all that popular. jade leech is used to it.
you were different, however.
your simply didn’t find him creepy. anything he said that was weird, you’d laugh it off and say something weird back too. jade’s height, creepy smile or the way he talks, it doesn’t seem to throw you off at all. you’d smile and wave at him when no one else dared to, you’d easily graze your skin against his and pay no mind, you’d approach him without second thoughts. It was like mutual trust, something jade has learned is difficult to find when you’re him.
so you meant everything. you were just as new and exciting, a pleasant surprise from the predicted fear everyone else has. you made him feel… seen for the first time in his life.
soon, everything you did was like a horror movie (weird analogy, I know. but it’s jade leech we’re talking about!) the intensity of when the killer would approach, or when the character is alone and vulnerable, his heart pumps like wildfire as he watches expectantly to see what the new surprise would be. his favourite feeling was when the victim would die or escape, the tightening in his chest releasing as he excitedly watches what would happen next. that was you. you were his favourite feeling.
he loves the way your eyebrows moved in expression when you talked, he loved when you sneezed and looked around expecting a “bless you,” he loved the odd ways you attempted to hold your mug comfortably and most of all, he loved you. he love you very, very much.
jade leech is used to all kinds of things. he’s used to people avoiding him, he’s used to his brother’s tendencies to groan and complain at everything, he’s used to azul’s creepy capitalist tactics.
what he’s not used to, however, are the bubbly, excited emotions he feels when he gets to experiment with his beloved mushrooms, the way you took over his thoughts like the plague and most of all, he wasn’t used to the flowers spilling out of his mouth.
this was odd, per say. jade knew of the hanahaki disease. he knew of all the downsides of it. but he never worried, because, how could he, jade fucking leech, ever love someone so pathetically?
he hoped that you’d love him back too. he oh-so deeply wished he was just as new and exciting to you as you were to him.
the blood meticulously dripped amongst his fingers, flower petals sticking to it alike. he laughed at himself. he’s always imagined that if he’d ever possibly get this disease, it’ll be flowers related to the water like lotuses or water lilies. he never thought he’d start coughing up such pathetic land-dweller flowers.
it was fine, though. jade would get used to it, eventually.
because after all, he’d rather die than stop loving you.
floyd leech
floyd is scary, he knows that. He’s quick to anger, moody, tall and intimidating. He’s doesn’t really care, though. He just does what he wants. He doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal.
he likes fun surprises, something new, exciting. he thinks you meet that of that.
you’re not as scared as others, you respond to his pranks and squeezes positively, you respect his mood swings and he even caught a few glimpses of you defending him. he thinks you’re so cute!
it’s not odd to talk about the leech twins without mentioning you. floyd follows you every and jade just goes wherever floyd goes. it’s like a little trio.
you don’t get scared like others when he gets upset, return his squeezes (hesitatingly…he hugs tight!) and find him rather silly than scary.
jade thinks you were almost made for floyd, considering how well you two get along. although jade has been with floyd the longest, he can only tolerate to a certain point for you, however, it seemed to go endless. you were so much more patient with floyd then with anyone else. although floyd made be subtle about it, he’s grateful.
floyd adored you. you were everything he loves, for he loves you.
loved you.
loved? (love)
floyd started to ignore you. you’d tilt your head in confusion— you were upset. why would your best friend suddenly act like you weren’t even there? he wouldn’t even get mad, he’d just turn the other way.
it was only so long ago when floyd was hunched over in his bed from a terrible stomach ache. jade was horribly surprised to see bloody petals staining floyd’s bedsheets.
floyd never bothered with these things. for the first time in a while, he read a book out of his own volition to figure out what it was, only to rip the pages apart when he read what hanahaki was.
childishly declaring that he loves you no more, floyd would stay away from you like the plague, whilst secretly filling his system with flowers that will kill him for ever loving someone so deeply.
floyd is gonna disappear from your life completely eventually. you’d wonder what caused your best friend to suddenly hate you, while his family mourns over the loss of a loved one, as floyd refused treatment, because he foolishly decided to love you.
kalim al-asim
kalim grew up very sheltered in a loving family. The only concept of love he has is of his parents, who hold hands tightly and gush over the cutest things. they often warn him of the danger of love, and that he must be careful about the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
kalim, although clumsy and stupid, always kept that in the back of his mind.
you were like a breath of fresh morning air. growing up knowing very little, you were the newest, most brightest experience there was. kalim was sure you were the one. he was completely sure, why else would his heart thump so fast?
he’d hug you and hold your hand, give you gifts you could never even imagine having and tell you how much he appreciates you.
kalim hasn’t gone around to mouthing the word “love” yet, but he knows that you know anyway.
so when he started coughing up petals, jamil was quick to inform the al-asim family. kalim was confused, he didn’t understand. this love wasn’t unrequited, there was no way!
it doesn’t matter, though. he’s gonna continue loving you, you and him are gonna be happy together someday, eventually. maybe not in this universe.
kalim woke up in a hospital bed, his heart heavy.
he loves you. but he forgot what that feels like. he loved you. somehow.
jamil viper
jamil is smart. he’s smart and knows his worth. this is why he hates being in second, he knows he deserves so much more.
why does he always to have do worse than kalim? why does he always have to be second place? jamil is smart enough to know his potential. he also knows how much he’s holding himself back for the sake of hierarchy. he hates it.
it’s not a surprise when jamil finds himself unconsciously doing slower than certain people to appear normal. his main purpose in life is to not stand out, hide in the shadows, survive. like predator hiding from prey because if found, it will be caught by the silly humans.
you’re completely different from him, though. you’re as normal as a person can be, yet you aim to reach for the stars and hold it close to your heart. jamil understands your desire to outshine people all to well. he’s been in that spot, is in that spot. he pities you.
so he sticks around. he’d casually follow you, hang out whenever he can, help you with assignments so you can be the best version of yourself. he’s voraciously living through you. if you achieve your goals, that’s enough for him. at least he was apart of something meaningful for once.
it catches him off guard, however, when you encourage him to reach for his goals as well. it’s like you’re holding his hand and pull him amongst the galaxies to gently place your hands onto the hot touch of a star.
he knows that’s near impossible to reach, from the moment he was born, his life was chosen for him. but he thinks he could reach the small goals.
jamil secretly pats himself on the back for grazing against your skin for a second longer than usual, treat you to a nice meal or help you ace a test. he hopes that at least one of the goals he could reach in this lifetime is to be with you.
jamil is smart enough to know that he’s not just sick. not when blood trails down his chin to his arms, as flowers spill from inside him.
he thought that maybe, just maybe, he could have something for himself for once. not hold himself back, grasp tightly to what he wants the most.
jamil is smart enough to know his own worth. he’s definitely not worth enough to you.
silver
silver likes the little things. he enjoys the way birds chirp in the early morning, or the way the dandelion petals flow against the wind as he watches you scrunch your nose and blow on it. and then both of you guys start sneezing. ah, summer pollen, a reminiscent part of nature.
he loves the way you hold your pencil, the way you like to tie your shoelaces, how you cut your sandwiches. these small, unnoticeable traits catch his eye quite often, and he’s developed a fondness for them.
he’s a man of little words. silver doesn’t talk much, so when he thinks of these things, he never says it out loud. maybe that’s why it took you so long to notice how he felt about you.
he was so calming, and so gentle, it tugged at your heart when he’d smile softly and tilt his head ever so slightly so the cute birds could carefully place a beautiful flower crown on his head. he’s so princely, you think. a perfect knight in shining armour, loved even by the nature.
often you’d tell him how lucky any girl would be to be loved by him. your comments made silver hopeful.
silver is a man of little words, he likes to spend his days watching rather than showing. when he does finally speak his true thoughts, he genuine, honest. his words roll off his tongue so easily and smoothly, perfect fit for such a princely man (as you call him)
so when silver does finally open his mouth to speak, talk, say of what he felt in that very moment, he throat closed up. maybe he was nervous, maybe he was lame, because to both of your guy’s horror, blood spilled.
he didn’t really know what was happening. only when he felt the urge to throw up in the infirmary did he realize what was going on.
he was familiar with hanahaki. his father always told him stories of how fae would love so strongly to humans who hated them, that those who were unlucky would be induced to vomiting flowers.
when silver thought he was fae, just like his sweet old father, silver swore to himself that he’ll never love a human. now that he knows that he is, in fact, human, silver starts to doubt himself. maybe is, in a way, a fae.
it’s alright, though. silver is man of few words. he likes to watch rather than show. he doesn’t mind what could happen to him, he won’t tell anyone. he’ll just watch you from afar, filling his heart with melancholy love until he reaches his end. which might be soon, for he loves you so strongly.
a.n: my phone is on 6% as I type this I will edit this tomorrow morning when I wake up. sorry for replying so late I had tests coming up and I had to study!!! </3 thank you so much for the kind comments and I’ll catch up to requests soon! feel free leave any requests :3

# #. IF YOU SEEK AMY !!
I was listening to the song "if you seek amy," and I thought to myself. how long would it take the twst cast to realize what the song really meant? so uh-
Tumblr media
As soon as the chorus ends they understand. Soon, a mischievous smile form's on their face, never once leaving until you finish the song up. You cant help but expect some over dramatic reaction- but instead ur met with nothing!! They clap as soon as you end the song- commenting on your vocals with an overzealous smirk on their face. They try to act innocent, trying to coax you into explaining the lyrics- but you quickly turn down their remark. Leaving them to laugh at your misery.
- ROOK HUNT, ace trappola, RUGGI BUCCHI, leona kingscholar, LILIA VANROUGE, JADE LEECH...
Although not as quickly as others, they do eventually understand the song. And as soon as they figure out the hidden meaning you can bet on your life that their practically as red as a rose. They enjoyed such a song?? Why would someone even make a song like that in the first place??? Why were you even singing it in the first place???? It'd be funny showing them even more embarrassing songs, but it is fun to see them all flustered of course. All embarrassed- for such a dumb reason.
- RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS, jack howl, AZUL ASHENGROTTO, epel felmier, jamil viper, SEBEK ZIGVOLT...
It takes a second... or two... or three. Maybe it's just easier to explain it to them? Once you do they're completely confused !! They didn't even notice the double meaning- and probably wouldn't have until someone told them. They were far too busy enjoying your singing to actually pay attention to the lyrics it seems. Also surprised at the meaning- however more intrigued by the subtlety then what the actual lyrics mean. But if you look closer you can see a hint of blush on their face--- maybe it was a good thing that they weren't paying full attention.
- TREY CLOVER, kalim al-asim, MALLEUS DRACONIA, silver, DEUCE SPADE, neige leblanche....
Gets up and starts dancing and singing with you !!! The song and beat is just so catchy how couldn't they? If they pick up on the meaning they won't say anything- being too immersed in singing with you than to actually say anything. If they do mention the song, it won't happen until the end- in the most actual way ever. They twirl you around as the song plays, acting as your backup as they sing the chorus with you. Don't be surprised if you stay there for a while, cause now it's karaoke time !!!
- CATER DIAMOND, ruggie bucchi, LILIA VANROUGE, KALIM AL-ASIM, rook hunt, chenya....
your singing instructor !
- VIL SCHOENHEIT !!!

Unforeseen
HAHA it's not a Matcha fic if it isn't edited and posted at 2-3 AM amirite I don't know what this is I was just brainrotting about Malleyuu + Yuu and Sebek friendship + my take on post-NRC and this is what came out of it. I INITIALLY planned to only write the first and last parts but then my brain decided that it would be a good idea to come up with all the other shit in between and now this mess exists 👍 This also features a few theories and hcs based on Book 7 Chapter 4 lore, like how Malleus hatched and how Draconia babies are made. Summary: Sebek goes missing and with Malleus's first child with you on the way the prince is anxious about the affects of unexpected events on his family and the future.
----
There aren't many things that can scare a dragon.
But then correspondence from Sebek's party stops, and Malleus swears his blood freezes.
He's sure he wears out the floor with his pacing, blood humming with restless surges of magic and throat hot with the urge to release fire as he waits with patience that wears thinner by the hour. Silver stands in the doorway, the disapproving gaze he'd imagine on his father reflected exactly on the guard's face as he tells Malleus to go to bed.
Malleus would laugh at the irony if he didn't instead begin to worry about the emptiness he'd leave next to his spouse if he remains awake until dawn again. Well, not that you'd be entirely alone.
Your arms are encircled around a massive black egg, held close to your chest like you used to do with the monster cat curled up against it. Grim rumbles like a motorboat, the only sound that remains when Malleus enters the bedroom and all conversation is halted.
You sit up, not without keeping some part of you touching the egg in some way, eyes alight with hope. Malleus's heart sinks at the way your expression falls at the frown he wears.
Referring to you and Sebek as "close" would be an understatement. Since your first day at the castle, the both of you have practically been attached at the hip, falling back into the familiar roles of your years together as students at Night Raven College. Malleus would call it an imitation of Sebek's excessive devotion to him back in those years if it weren't more personal; the two of you are often whispering secrets or nonsense, laughing, bantering, and smiling with each other despite your roles as guard and master. It's nothing like how Malleus is guarded and he sometimes finds himself feeling the ugly curl of envy at the thought.
Malleus can't fault Sebek for keeping his distance. He knows that his role as the future king forms a boundary between them that cannot and should not be crossed, but that doesn't mean that Malleus is any less upset about it.
Sebek isn't with you now though, and neither is he with Malleus, nor Silver. Malleus remembers a time like yesterday (at least to him) when Sebek would sob upon being torn from Malleus's side, but he recalls that on the day of the guard's departure, he had been insistent. Dedicated, as always, to anything and everything that would keep his lord and friend safe. You'd hugged him goodbye and waved him off cheerily, grin wide as you shouted at him to "Don't forget the souvenirs!"
"I'm doing reconnaissance, not going on a vacation," Sebek had groaned when you'd told him the same thing prior, shooting Silver a glare when the other man had muttered under his breath, "Seven knows you need one." He had redirected it, tired and pleading at Malleus when the prince had laughed.
(Malleus tries to remember what it was like; laughing. When he had lamented this aloud, you had called him a Drama Queen, but that doesn't mean you're any less worn with worry even if you don't share his admittedly exaggerated sentiment.)
"We should just go look for 'im!" Grim grouches, disguising his own worry behind drained patience at everyone's trepidation. He's practically your other half, (and more in tune with your feelings than Malleus is, he'd begrudgingly admit.) so he's as tied to Sebek as you are.
""We"?" Malleus questions sharply at your nod of agreement.
"The longer we go without a word from him the less I think I can wait, Tsuno," you plead. Malleus looks down at you understandingly, but his eyes are sad as he places a careful hand on the egg nestled in your arms. Guilt crosses your face, but the determination remains in your eyes.
"Stay with the egg," you tell him with finality, but if anyone can fight you on this it's Malleus.
"I care for Sebek, truly." Malleus cuts you off when you open your mouth to argue that I didn't say you don't— "But I will not risk the chance of our child growing without either of us by their side."
It's something that he has a firm stance on and you know that you can't ever argue with it, even if you're not willing to give up the vision in your mind of both Silver and Sebek also being by their side when they hatch. You curl up around the egg further, resigned, even as you murmur, "What do we do, then?"
"We wait," Malleus says, apologetic as he gathers his child, the love of his life, and their cherished animal companion in his arms. He curls his tail around them protectively despite his family being in the safety of his arms and his nest. He can feel Grim vibrating with unrelenting purrs against his chest, the furry little beast squishing his face against the egg as he kneads little biscuits over its curved surface. You settle with your head against Malleus's chest, dissatisfied but resigned.
----
Malleus watches you shriek when you lay your eyes on Ace and Deuce right before you bowl them over to the floor in excitement and he knows he made the right call inviting them to the castle.
Few humans ever set foot on the castle floors, not many fae keen on just the idea of it, but Malleus is the future king and he can do whatever the Hell he wants and that includes letting your friends come over for a few days to cheer you up, traditions be damned.
With Ace and Deuce around, the castle is alive in a way it hasn't been in weeks. It's not just a product of their making but yours as well, the three of you along with Grim at your heels always up to something in the castle when you're all together. Malleus is more than happy to watch over the egg as you catch up with your friends, but that doesn't mean he's free from your attention any less.
"How much longer is it gonna take for it to hatch?" Ace says in both amazement and curiosity while Deuce tries to wrap his head around the concept of a magically conceived and hatched egg (It's not really that complicated. Malleus can't understand what might be so confusing about it.). They're both standing around the egg at a distance but still closer than anyone else you and Malleus have allowed in the unborn heir's presence.
(That is, if he doesn't count Silver and Sebek.)
"Like, half a year, or something like that." You tilt your head up at him for confirmation. "Right?"
"Indeed," Malleus crows proudly, hand smoothing over the egg's shell. Grim hops up onto Malleus's lap and rubs up against the egg, butting up into Malleus's palm when he raises it to pet him. You smile with excitement, lips pulled between your teeth as you hop in your seat across from them.
"I can't wait," you chirp, linking your arms with your friends' and bouncing them along with you. "You guys have to be there when it happens, so make sure you've got nothing going on."
"Oh, you bet," Ace laughs, eyes shining with mirroring eagerness.
"Are you kidding? Like we'd miss your kid being born! Uh.... hatched?" Deuce muses.
Malleus hums, pleased at their assent, hands cradling the egg's sides lovingly. Along with Ace and Deuce, you were also planning to invite your other old friends from NRC to witness the hatching, which Malleus had agreed to without missing a beat.
Though he hadn't even been a minute old, Malleus remembers his own hatching. He doesn't think he can ever forget it; the overbearing loneliness as he broke the shell and gazed into tearful red eyes. Despite the waves of love that had urged him to come out, the room had been so empty except for the fae that had coaxed him out of his eggshell.
Malleus doesn't wish for such an experience to ever be known to his children.
He knows the image you see in your head of your child's hatchday, can see you proudly presenting his heir to the eager eyes of your friends. He can see them all now, gathered around you with the privilege to lay eyes on the future ruler of Briar Valley before anyone else; Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho... and Sebek.
Malleus's fingers curl, claws lightly scraping against the shell of his child's egg.
Sebek will be there. He knows that you haven't given that up in your mind, and neither will he.
----
Malleus still remembers the day, a year or so ago, when the two of you had finally announced that an egg had been successfully conceived.
His grandmother was the first to come see it, of course. She had manifested, eyes wild and frantic, in a burst of green flames. She at least had had the decency to appear outside of his and your chambers instead of coming right in, but the moment Malleus opened the door to greet her she was brushing right past him.
It was the first time you and Malleus (and possibly anyone really) had seen Briar Queen Maleficia so emotional. You had awkwardly patted her back in an attempt to soothe her surging emotions, but it had instead gotten you pulled into a stifling hug that had you breathless. Malleus had watched with both amusement and tears in his eyes as his grandmother murmured "thank you"s to you over and over on repeat while you reached for him with your arms, silently begging for assistance.
After that, it was time to introduce the egg to the rest of his family.
Though it wasn't her egg, Maleficia had to be convinced to allow other people close to it, relenting with a pout. She remained in the room though, so when you had returned with Silver and Sebek in tow, her presence was the first thing that they registered. Sebek had gotten so caught up with stuttering formalities that he didn't even notice the egg for a full five minutes.
Everybody else in the room were already prepared for when he finally did, hands held over ears round and pointed alike as he screeched in surprise.
"An egg! You have an egg?!" he'd screamed in disbelief. You'd laughed as he grabbed you by the shoulders and shook you. "I'm not dreaming, am I?! Please tell me I'm not—!"
"You're not—!!!" you'd shouted, and the two of you had both shrieked with glee as Sebek picked you up and spun you around the air. He had chanted his congratulations while you vigorously repeated "Thank you!"s.
He had put you down awkwardly when he remembered again that Maleficia was in the room, clearing his throat and recollecting his composure while you continued to giggle. His joy was so infectious though that it even had Maleficia cracking a smile despite being in the face of some of her subjects.
"Do I not get a hug also?" Malleus had tried to be lighthearted but he couldn't help the pout on his face. Though he was reluctant and still alert to presence of the queen, Sebek had relented and given him the privilege. It wasn't anything like the hug he had given you, but it was meaningful and personal nonetheless. Silver had joined at Malleus's beckoning and the prince had held them both close, so many words of relief and gratitude going unspoken but communicated between the three of them nonetheless through one shared gesture.
Malleus had looked up at the quiet shuttering of a ghost camera and saw you show a polaroid to his grandmother with a proud grin.
"Could you perhaps make a duplicate of that for me?" she had mused.
----
Malleus is unsure if Ortho's surprise visit to the castle could be considered a pleasant one. Perhaps, if it were under different circumstances. Perhaps, if he had returned with Sebek and he wasn't practically painted with injuries.
Malleus was in the middle of his duties when he had found out. He had been discussing with the council the search itself for Sebek and his party when a member of the castle staff burst through the door and unceremoniously interrupted the meeting. They were quickly forgiven when they'd frantically informed him that Sir Zigvolt had finally returned.
Malleus had torn through the halls in a billow of black robes, legs carrying him thoughtlessly to his destination, eyes like green spotlights in the dimly-lit halls. The servants parted and made way for him wordlessly.
When he finally arrives, both you and Grim are already there, sitting by Sebek's bedside and on his lap respectively while Ortho hovers at his other side. Malleus is momentarily relieved that you'd been informed first, but then he sees the state Sebek is in and he's next to you in an instant.
Sebek's slit pupils dart to him for the briefest second before looking away with a grimace. He seems to sink further into the pillows cushioning his back at his sitting position, shame evident in his eyes and the way his lips are twisted in a way that morphs the cuts and bruises on his face.
"My liege—" he rasps, and the fire in Malleus's chest roars and pulls.
"Silence," he commands, a little too sharply and it aches how Sebek shrinks further into himself. Malleus sucks in a breath and forces himself to calm down. He sits down on the bed, holds out his hand, and speaks, softer this time, "Be still."
Sebek opens his mouth to retort but you shoot him a reprimanding look that has him going quiet again. Malleus notices how Sebek doesn't retreat from you and he feels that familiar pang of jealousy again.
Now is not the time for such trivial matters, boy. Your family is hurt. a voice chides him in his head. He holds his hand over Sebek's face, and though the halfling twitches slightly in discomfort, he closes his eyes to the warmth of Malleus's magic as his injuries begin to heal.
As Sebek relaxes, the tension easing further out of him as his pain fades away, Ortho begins to explain what had happened, how he had found Sebek, and why.
As it turns out, the treacherous group that Sebek's party was sent to observe was also being investigated by S.T.Y.X.. Sebek and his group had gotten ambsuhed and captured— At this, your hand tightens further around Sebek's much larger one. It draws Malleus's attention, and a low growl escapes him at the redness of iron burns peeking ever-so-slightly from beneath Sebek's sleeve.— and when Ortho had discovered this, he had gone in and rescued them as fast as he could. Sebek's injuries had been worse, apparently, and there was only so much Ortho could do with his built-in medical procedures in such a short amount of time.
The young humanoid seems to sag defeatedly at this, but you're quick to reassure him that "No, you did great. I mean it, Orr. Thank you."
Even Sebek had opened his eyes to shoot Ortho a reprimanding yet grateful look.
"I can confirm. I might not be here currently if it were not for your action, Ortho."
Ortho's eyes go wide at this and he scrubs at them with the heel of his palm as dribbles of liquid stain his cheeks.
"Y-You're going to activate my crying simulation again, Sebek!" he chokes out. He suddenly looks up, teary eyes meeting Malleus's, and Sebek looks like he wants to stop him from speaking but he's too late as Ortho blurts out, "I hope you are not disappointed in him, Malleus Draconia, though I don't think that you are! Regardless, you should know that Sebek was really cool, even though he was the one being rescued! He was suffering from severe iron burns and yet he stood up to the enemy captain anyway and bit his arm off when he tried to grab me! It was like he was the hero!"
An embarrassed blush spreads over Sebek's cheeks at Ortho's retelling, his flustered gaze suddenly finding interest in Grim's silky fur beneath his fingers. Despite his demeanor, his voice is as sure as ever as he says, "Well, of course I couldn't just stand there and let you be hurt after all the trouble you went through because of my blunder!"
At this statement, Malleus turns to him questioningly. "Sebek—"
"It was due to my shortcomings that we were captured, Lord Malleus," Sebek admits, shamefully and yet boldly as he looks up to finally meet his master's eyes. "It was my fault. The solution was so simple. If only I had...." Sebek's brow furrows in frustration, his fists clenching, the one holding your hand wrapping around your fingers fiercely. "If only I was—"
"Sebek," Malleus says, gently yet firmly, a mere mimicry of your reassuring tone, but it works to cut Sebek off before he begins his tangent. "That does not matter."
His hands draw downwards, brushing against yours before carefully wrapping around Sebek's wrists. Sebek inhales sharply at the sting of contact but eases again at the warmth of healing magic.
"What matters now is that everyone is safe. Is that you are safe. That you have returned to us."
He knows it's selfish. As prince, he knows it's unfair and unwise to be so forgiving of one of his guards' failures— A single wrong move could mean the downfall of the entire kingdom, after all— but Malleus finds that he doesn't care. He finds that, with Sebek back in the safety of the castle, with his family— All of his family— back in the safety of his arms, he doesn't care.
After weeks of worry and weariness and heavy thoughts of paranoia and doubt, Malleus for the first time feels a weight lift off his shoulders and it's like he can breathe again. He remembers again the feeling of relief.
Your hand that's not holding Sebek's reach for one of Malleus's. He accepts it gratefully, looking down to return your equally relieved smile, but when he meets your eyes, the expression on your face is not what he expects.
Instead of warmth, instead of anxiety flooding out of you and tears gathering in your eyes, your expression is cold and detached; eyes distant, lips pulled firmly into a thin line, and brows fighting to not draw down in what he knows would be the most fearsome glare he's ever seen in his years of living.
There aren't many things that can scare a dragon, but right now, as he watches you, the barely-restrained fury on your face  and the chilling desire for damnation in your eyes, Malleus feels the fire in his chest snuff out, retreating to make way for the real beast.

The Gojo Household, Winter, 2010
more satoru pov from intrinsic warmth canon because I require only happiness from this fandom rn
Satoru wishes he’d thought of something different when he first saw you.
He knows, now, that gossip in Jujutsu society is trivial and meaningless. Nothing means anything, and anything that’s said is either inflated out of proportion, or so shallow it’s basically pointless, or just untrue.
Satoru is older now—in fact, it is his twenty-first birthday next week—and as he’s been the focus of that same gossip for all of his life, he’s learnt not to believe it. He doesn’t even listen, nowadays. Few people have the gall to talk to him so casually, which, for once, Satoru can spin as a positive.
But he was young when he met you. He was six, as much as you try to convince him he was seven. When he was young, he was convinced that all the rumours were true: after all, the ones about him were.
Satoru was the strongest, the best, the prodigy that would change the world; he was Satoru Gojo, born for everything, with everything, and so of course everything about you would be correct, because everything about him was, too!
He had heard rumours, spoken candidly by his parents, before they died, and then in hushed voices by the servants when they didn’t think he could hear. He had heard about everyone; the downfall of the Inumaki clan, the pathetic outcasts of the Zenins, even the tiny little Hebi family, whose heir was not only born a girl, but with a disgraceful mutation of the family technique.
It’s what he thought, when he first saw you.
He noticed you looking at him, in the corner of his eye. You were one of the only children at the clan meeting, and your hands were tied tight behind your back.
You looked at him with hollow eyes, and Satoru had preened under the attention. He had thought you were looking at him because he was Satoru Gojo, and he hadn’t realised that you hadn’t known who he was.
Before you, everyone he’d ever met had known him. Everyone, until you. But you don’t remember meeting him, so Satoru can’t ask you why you were looking at him.
Satoru wishes he’d thought more of you, that first time. He knows, of course, that there was no reason for him to; it wasn’t like he’d fallen in love with you because of your name, or your family, and it wasn’t as if he should have felt the spark between the two of you just from hearing your family story. That would make it fate, if it was like that, and Satoru had always hated fate. He doesn’t want to love you because he has to, or because it was destined for him.
He looks at you, now. You put the kids to sleep an hour ago, and had spent the evening as you usually do: together, on the couch of his childhood home, just being with each other.
But now you’re half-asleep, leaning against him—his Infinity—with your eyes closed. Your breathing is slow and soft, and he feels your chest expand with every inhale. You trust him with this, that he will not deactivate his technique when you’re sleeping. Satoru has never been more grateful for you, or more undeserving of your trust. He would never touch you, never: he isn’t fifteen any more, and he knows better than he did then. But he wants to. More than anything, Satoru wants to touch you.
That night, on the rooftop. He could feel the pressure of your hands on him, exploring him, the hesitance transforming into curiosity and then careful confidence in your touch. Satoru had been wanting your hands on him for… he doesn’t even know, not really. But now he has felt you, even if it is through Infinity.
And he wants you. He cannot look at you without wanting his hands on you, his lips on you: he feels it viscerally, every time you smile, every moment you allow him to see beyond your facade of severity.
You say that he pretends, but you don’t seem to realise that you do the same: you hold yourself back from him, always leave him wanting, craving, and Satoru, who has always been selfish, will never be satisfied with all that you allow him. He will always be wanting more.
You stir. “Hmn?” you mumble.
Satoru shushes you. “Go back to sleep.”
“Shouldn’t. Need to go home.” You break off, yawn so wide he can see the pink of your tongue. Satoru has to look away.
“I’ll wake you later. I promise.”
“Promise.” You pat your lips together and curl further into him, your head on his chest—Infinity, he has to keep reminding himself, because he wants to pretend he is holding you without it.
One gloved hand rests on your opposite arm, and you clench it in your sleep as pain bursts through the muscle. You had hurt your shoulder again yesterday; whenever it sparks up again, Satoru feels a fresh wave of pure hatred for your family, for those bastards that kept your hands bound for all those years. He had hated them when he was younger, and he hates them even more now; he hates that their hold on you has only tightened, keeping you from touching people, keeping you in pain.
The first time, he hadn’t thought of them as restraints. They were evidence that you were the strange Hebi heir, the one who was born with the weird touching technique. Satoru hadn’t understood why your hands were bound; yes, he’d heard of it, but he didn’t understand why the gloves weren’t enough. He was just a kid, but Satoru wishes he had thought better of you. At least he had liked you; he really had, right from the first time he had spoken to you.
He had noticed you leave. Your father and grandmother had left you alone, and you had stood there for a moment, watching them go. Then you had looked around, and walked through a half-open doorway, pushing it ajar with your shoulder. Satoru remembers that you had walked through the crowd: your aversion to touch was still enforced by your family, not your own mind, and you hadn’t yet developed your panic around the large groups of people that you have now.
Satoru, six and curious and arrogant, followed you. He was interested in the way you walked; it was so decisive, after a moment of hesitation, latching onto the open door and walking through swiftly. Satoru didn’t think about Yahaba, or whether she would be worried if he went missing, since, back then, he hadn’t learnt how to think about anyone other than himself.
He was good at walking quietly, though, especially through old houses like his own. Satoru knew what floorboards looked like when they would creak, from all his time hiding from servants. Satoru followed you through room after room, his excitement growing. It was like a game to him, trying to guess when you would stop, and then try to figure out why.
It took you a while to decide where to stay, and when you finally do, Satoru didn’t understand why: it wasn’t one of the cooler rooms you’ve passed, like the ones with loads of bows or the ones with the cool murals and paintings.
The room was the most boring room. It was dead silent, and pretty blank and bland, and you just closed your eyes and sit down on the floor with your back against the door.
Satoru followed you in: you’d left the door open. He wondered for a second if this counted as creepy, if following you was a bit weird, but then he shrugged and reckoned that you’d be grateful to see him anyway. After all, you were just the kid from the Hebi clan! He was Satoru Gojo. Anyone would be honoured to meet him.
Actually—no that he was thinking about it, your journey was really weird. You even walked past loads of rooms with blades and swords, and Satoru didn’t understand why you wouldn’t just take off those ropes that you’ve got behind your back. They couldn’t be comfortable: they influence the way you walk, he thinks, and you keep tensing your arms up like you’re trying to pull away from them. Why wouldn’t you just take them off? Satoru resolved to ask you.
“Why are you sitting like that?” he asked, stepping into your view and mimicking your hand restraints.
It was just an introductory question—he was getting himself ready for your surprise, and then the absolute flattery and praise that always came when people saw him. They were filled, as they often said, with an overwhelming mixture of fear and awe, which he thought was pretty damn cool.
Satoru had been told he could be intimidating when he was trying to be, but he didn’t really want to scare you right now. But that didn’t mean you weren’t going to be scared: he was Satoru Gojo, after all.
But Satoru was very good at being modest, and so he was asking you a question on your level, so you wouldn’t be so worried about engaging him in conversation. Here! He was telling you. I’m just a normal person! Even if he wasn’t, it was good of him to pretend. But Satoru was good with modesty, obviously, especially when people starting crying when they saw him, which had happened exactly five times in his lifetime.
Satoru smiled graciously, ready for you to start shaking and maybe prostrating yourself in front of him.
You looked up. “Oh. I can’t take them off.”
For a split-second, Satoru blanched. Where was the fear? Where was the awe? You were just looking up at him with that same solemn expression you were wearing before.
And then, Satoru brushed it off. Maybe that solemn face was just your ‘whoa, I’m super impressed that I’m in the presence of Satoru Gojo, and so I’ve got to pretend to be okay so I don’t look stupid in front of him’-face. He wouldn’t be offended: everyone else had their strategies to cope with meeting him for the first time.
So, Satoru continued your conversation: “Why not? That rope, or something? Doesn’t look that strong.” He stepped closer to you, pretending to size it up, like he didn’t know the exact answer you’d give him. “I could cut it off for you if you want.”
And there he was—being so generous, even though he didn’t have to, and even though he knew you’d refuse.
You shook your head, and Satoru felt a spark of triumph. “No, thanks,” you said.
“Didn’t think so.” Satoru grinned, very pleased with himself. Then, because he had to explain how clever he was, he added: “You walked through loads of rooms with weapons on your way here, but you didn’t even look at them. I saw you.”
“I’m not allowed,” you said, simply. You shuffled a bit on the floor, clearly still uncomfortable from the ropes, and probably trying to hide your nerves at being in such close-quarters with him, Satoru Gojo.
Satoru didn’t understand the concept. He didn’t like the idea of not being allowed to do something: he was allowed to do whatever he wanted, at home.
“Says who?” he asked. He sat right down next to you, copying your posture right down to the way your hands were stuck behind your back. He was right, before: it was really uncomfortable.
“My father.”
Satoru crinkled up his nose. “And you listen to him?”
“Yes.”
Okay, that was pretty weird of you. His opinion of you soured, a little. Satoru had been intrigued by how you’d left your family back in the other room; it had seemed like something rebellious, something interesting. But at the same time, you were the type of person who’d listen to people who didn’t care about you. Satoru looked away from you, feeling a little disappointed.
And then, like you were registering exactly what he was thinking, you said: “Well. Sometimes I do.”
Satoru perked up. “Sometimes? When don’t you?”
There it is! It’s obvious, now: you were holding back, but as soon as you picked up on his reticence, you switched up, and tried your absolute best to keep his attention on you. Of course. That makes sense!
“Now, I guess,” you said. You seem a bit shy, maybe, or a bit sullen. Satoru couldn’t tell: a flicker of something weird went up in him, an emotion he couldn’t recognise. He didn’t understand what you were feeling. Satoru didn’t like that—Satoru always knew everything, always. “He probably didn’t want me to leave the main room, but I did. He’s going to be angry.”
Satoru felt a strange tug in his belly. For some reason, he actually wanted to know the answer to his question. “Don’t you care about that?”
If you kept those weird ropes around your wrists because of your family, then surely you’d care about what they think about you.
“What?”
“If  your dad’s going to be angry.” Satoru looked at you intently, trying to peer into your mind. You weren’t reacting the way he was expecting you to, and he didn’t know what to make of it, really. “You don’t look like you care.”
After a moment, you said: “He’s angry a lot. You kind of get used to it.”
Satoru’s lips pursed. He didn’t like the sound of that. If he was living with someone who was mean like that, he wouldn’t get used to it: Satoru would do something about it.
You looked at him in the eyes, and he was taken aback, for a second, at how strong your gaze was. You kept flipping in his view of you: at one time, you were nothing at all, and then you were interesting and rebellious, and then you were subdued and fearful, and, now, you were something in-between.
You cringed, a little, at your words. You cast your gaze down, and Satoru found himself seeking it: he wanted your attention back. He wasn’t used to losing it.
“I mean…” you trailed off. “Not really. You don’t get used to it, but, I mean, I just have to guess when it’s going to be a good choice or not. Overall.” You just stared at the floor, and Satoru found himself leaning closer to you. He didn’t think you noticed. “I think he’s going to be really mad, yeah, but I didn’t want to be in the room anymore, so I’m just going to deal with it later. A lot of the time, though,” you said, with an air of finality, “it’s overall a bad choice not to do what he says.”
You nod, a little.
Satoru had never known so little about a person before. Everything he had thought about you was being twisted and changed, and he didn’t know at all what to make of it. He had expected you to be surprised and honoured to see him: you weren’t, not visibly. He had expected you to be pitiful and boring, as the weird heir of the Hebi family: you weren’t, not really, but instead were something different altogether.
Maybe it was just because Satoru didn’t know how to deal with being wrong—although, no, he wasn’t wrong, because he was never wrong—or maybe it was because there was something genuinely interesting about you. He wasn’t sure.
But, perhaps for the first time in his life, Satoru wanted to know more about a person. That was definitely something to pay attention to. That was something.
“What’s your name?” he asked. He didn’t actually know your first name: none of the servants had ever called you it. You were just the sad heir of the Hebi family, the one who’d gone wrong.
“Hebi,” you said. “Hello.”
Satoru grimaced. That wasn’t what he was asking, and you knew it. “That’s not your name,” he said, clearly urging you to answer his question properly.
“It is,” you said, petulantly. “My name is Hebi.”
“Hebi,” he repeated. “Right. But,” he said, slowly, to make sure you understood, “that’s your family name.”
You blinked at him. “Yes, exactly.”
Satoru held back a groan—he held it back, because he was trying to make a good impression here. Him! Trying to make a good impression! This was a day of new experiences. Satoru never had to try to do anything. He just did it, and people loved him for it. He didn’t know why, but there was something he liked about you, and this, about how you were making him try.
“So,” he said, because he knew you weren’t getting it, “tell me your first name then.”
You hesitated, and then your eyebrows bunched together, and your lips pursed into a frown. “No,” you said.
Satoru’s eyes widened. “No?” he echoed, in disbelief.
“No.”
Satoru stared at you. No? But he was making a good first impression! He was Satoru Gojo—people didn’t say no to him, even strange interesting people like you. Satoru was actually trying, and it wasn’t enough for you to tell him your name.
He struggled to speak for a few seconds. Satoru genuinely didn’t know how to proceed—he felt out of step in a way that was completely foreign to him. Satoru was used to being in charge of every conversation; he would enter a room and it would fall silent, just because he was there; he would walk through a crowd, and people would part for him, like he was activating his Infinity, the way he was learning how to do at home. Satoru was good at conversations like that, where everyone else was on the defensive, not him.
And yet, here he was. You had just said no. He wanted to know your name, and you didn’t give it to him.
He looked back at you, bewildered. And, Satoru remembers now, that was the moment he had known you were special for him: because, even as his head spun with trying to understand how someone could deny him something, he watched as your lips twitched into the tiniest half-smile.
Satoru’s heart had filled, back then, with such an overwhelming rush of joy and pleasure and pride, pride he had never felt before, because he had never struggled for anything before, and so he had never yet succeeded.
And even though you were trying to hide your smile, it was still there: he had made you laugh, even if he didn’t know how he had done it, even if it was just because you had found his mystified expression somewhat funny. He had still made you smile, and he had been so proud of himself for it.
That was the first time he had felt that, and, now, remembering it, Satoru realises he has been chasing that feeling ever since.
Satoru had not known you back then. Satoru knows you now. He knows how you walk, how you smile, all your different smiles; he knows what you look like when you find him ridiculous, and when you are trying to pretend that he isn’t funny; he knows what you look like when you are afraid, and when you are afraid of him, and he knows that he never wants to hurt you again.
Satoru knows you. He loves you: he knows this, too, now. It had taken him some time to realise it, and even longer to accept it. But he knows. And he does.
Maybe it’s something wrong with him, he thinks, with some tired wry amusement. The way he enjoys you denying him things, or the way he has to work so hard for such small things, like your smile, or your compliments, or even your attention, these days. He likes how focused he has to be, how much effort he has to devote to you, because he knows he will always be rewarded, eventually.
You’re magnificent. It was what you had said to him, that night on the rooftop, when you had let him get so close to you, and when you had looked so beautiful. Satoru still remembers the way the moonlight had made your eyes shine, as if liquid, and he remembers how staggering his love for you had felt, how all-consuming and unbearable.
He remembers your words, all of them. You’re just magnificent, Satoru. His name: you had called him by his name. The lilt of your voice, the curve of the vowels. You say his name, and he wants to kiss you. He feels it like a need, as strong as his beating heart.
You’re smart, and you make me laugh, even when I try to hide it. He wishes you wouldn’t: he loves that you do, because he is the only one who can make you laugh like you do with him. Satoru is the only one: to you, he is special. You make me feel… everything. It’s like my world is sharper and better whenever you’re in it.
Satoru wishes he had said more. Satoru wishes, sometimes, he had said the truth: that he could have repeated those same words back to you, and it would have still been just as truthful. Satoru’s world is nothing when you are not in it: he works, and he lives, and he is fine, but with you, everything is so much more. You know him. You know him, and you stay with him regardless.
You think he is good. You’re a good person, you had said. You are such a good person.
Satoru knows he is not. He has always been insensitive, needy, and he scares himself, sometimes, with the things he can do easily, that he knows are supposed to haunt him.
Satoru is selfish. He wants too much, and does not like it when he is denied that which he wants.
He wants you. He hates it when you hold yourself from him.
And he had asked you to marry him.
Satoru had been asking for a while. Not marriage: but for you to stay with him, for you to let him keep you close, to keep you with him always. Move in with me, he had been saying, for so long. Since you had finished with your fourth year at school, he had been asking. You’d visited his new house before he’d properly moved in, some random luxury penthouse suite that he didn’t care too much for, and you’d been impressed, in your restrained, amused way.
He had asked you, then, in the empty shell of a living room. Move in with me, he had said. It could be ours, he had not said.
You said no.
Satoru asked again. Later, when you were helping him move in. You said no.
Satoru asked again. You were watching the kids explore their new rooms. You said no.
Satoru asked again.
Satoru asked, and asked, and asked. You said no.
He didn’t understand why you didn’t want to. You gave him reasons, but he knew well enough that they weren’t real; he asked you again and again, and you refused to be honest with him. Satoru felt, for the first time since he had hurt you, back when he was fifteen, that divide between the two of you, something he could not cross, despite his desperate and fervent attempts.
Satoru asked again. You said no.
Satoru asked you to marry him. He didn’t understand it all, then, but he knew he wanted you to marry him. Satoru had always hated tradition, and had never thought about marriage, not seriously, but he thought of you, and your soft smiles and shining eyes and wry comments, and he had wanted it. You.
He had tried, so hard. He wanted you to want it—he wanted you to want him. I would, Satoru had told you. You knew that he didn’t enjoy traditions, that he didn’t subscribe to such antiquated ways of living, and you knew that being married would be compromising so much of what he believed in: but he told you that, despite all of that, despite everything, he would.
I would marry you, he had told you. Despite so much, he would.
It was his quietest confession. You knew him. You would understand.
You said no.
Satoru feels you stir, in your sleep. You mumble something to yourself, and then your eyes squeeze together and you yawn, widely. You open your eyes, groggy, and turn your face up to look at him. Satoru could kiss you, your lips are so close to his.
“Did I fall asleep?” you say, with a slight slur to your words. It’s cute, Satoru realises. Fuck, not only is he in love with you, but you’re cute, too.
“Just a little,” he says, and smiles as you scowl, as your nose scrunches.
“You should’ve woken me. I’m not going to—get to sleep at home, now.” You yawn again, and then push yourself off him—his Infinity—with a throaty heave. Satoru feels the loss instantly. Come back, he wants to say. He doesn’t.
“Ah,” Satoru says, leaning back to give you some more space, “that’s only if you still want to go. You don’t have to.”
You give him an unimpressed look. “Gojo.”
Satoru, he pleads, in his mind.
“What?” he says instead, laughing.
“I need to go home. I’ve got—” and your face, so untroubled and tranquil and sleep-drunk, falls. Your eyes go hollow, just for a second. “I’ve got work tomorrow,” you say, and then run your gloved hands over your eyes. “God, I’m tired.”
“I’ll take you to your work,” Satoru says. He knows he sounds impulsive, or pushy, or even desperate, but he is—nowadays, he has to treasure every hour with you, even when you’re asleep. “It’s no big deal, Hebi-Hebi. You can use your old room here—Yahaba will get someone to sort it out now, if I ask her.”
Satoru stands, decisive, and prays you won’t ask him to stop. “I’ll ask her now, yeah?”
You’re hesitating. “I can’t stay.”
“Sure you can!” Satoru grins down at you, and he recognises the flash of uncertainty. He purses his lips, and then crouches in front of you, hands braced on his knees. “C’mon. It’ll be like old times! Remember when you’d stay at mine, nearly every night?”
Your lips quiver, and Satoru knows he is close to coaxing a smile from you. He chases it, and chases it.
“Yeah,” you say, quietly.
“Then we’ll just do that again! You can have your old room.” Satoru would like you to stay the way you were before; your head on his chest—Infinity—with your body tucked into him. He wishes he had worked harder to remember it, or remember what it had felt like, to be so close to touching you.
“I shouldn’t…”
“Says who?” Satoru raises his eyebrows at you, putting on a childish face, and finally you smile. It is small, and barely there, but it’s a smile, for him, just for him, and he loves you so much he cannot do anything else.
You bite at the inside of your lip. “I don’t have pyjamas.”
“I’ve got them in your size,” Satoru says, waving his hand in the air, as if to dismiss the thought entirely. He does: he always have, ever since you started staying the night at his as children. He has made sure that, whatever age you are, you will always have a place in his home.
“I need to take my makeup off,” you say, but he can tell your heart isn’t in it. Your smile has widened, and you are playful now. Satoru feels joyful, lighter than hair.
“You think I don’t have remover? You wound me with the accusation, Hebi-Hebi!”
“I’d need to put up with you for another few hours.”
Satoru laughs, full and loud, and you grin. “You adore spending time with me,” Satoru says, with a pretence of arrogance he hopes disguises the ever-present, thrumming desire for your reassurance, praise, love.
You hum, non-committal. “Maybe.”
Satoru clicks his tongue and pretends to be offended. “Agh. If you’re not going to admit it, maybe you can’t stay after all.”
“I said maybe, didn’t I?”
“Maybe isn’t good enough. I’m hurt, now. You’ve hurt me.”
“Poor baby.”
Satoru sticks out his tongue, which he knows doesn’t disprove the accusations of childishness, but he hopes will make you smile again. It does, to his pure delight.
You brace your hands on your thighs and push yourself up, combing stray hairs from your face. You laugh, quiet and to yourself, at something amusing he hadn’t realised he was doing.
“You’re so stupid,” you say, with a voice rich with affection. Satoru grins, and ducks his head down to your level. You blink at him, and then roll your eyes a half-second later.
“Tell me you want to stay,” Satoru says. He must be straightforward, or you might not say it at all. “Or you’re not allowed,” he adds, to make the request less obvious.
Your lips purse. “Gojo.”
“I’m waiting.”
“I—Gojo.”
“Do you want me to say please?” Satoru tilts towards you, another push, another quiet confession, one of hundreds. “I will if it’s you.”
Your eyes widen, just a fraction. Your lips part. Yes, Satoru thinks. You understand.
Then you look down, away from him, and it is broken. Satoru is selfish, and he wants too much.
“I’ll stay,” you say, turning from him and moving to plump up the cushions he had been sitting on. You do not look at him. “That’s all you’re getting.”
“So mean to me,” Satoru says, automatic.
“You deserve it.”
“And so cruel!”
“As I’ve heard.”
Satoru brushes it off. He’s getting used to that. He instead bounds over to you, finishes your work with the cushions, and then sits back down.
You stare at him. “What are you doing?”
“Hoping to spend a little more time with my Hebi-Hebi before she goes to sleep,” Satoru says, promptly. “You’re not that tired, are you?”
“I’m very tired.”
“But you don’t have to go to sleep right now,” he says, “right?”
You scoff, but it’s clear to both of you that there is no bitterness or anger. It is amused, and endeared, and Satoru loves that you think about him that way.
“Just a short while,” you say, collapsing back down on your half of the sofa. Satoru grins, so broad and happy, and he sees his smile mirrored on your lips.
“Just for a little bit,” Satoru echoes. “Until you want to leave. I promise.”

Tumblr media
Everything happened so fast, it was something nobody expected. The room fell silent as hundreds of viewers witnessed Gojo Satoru fall to the ground. His body split in half and his eyes remained opened. You covered your mouth trying to withhold a gasp. If he was dead than what are you guys supposed to do now?
Before anyone could say anything Kashimo ran out as if he was going to miss his opportunity. Hakari following right behind him with a smug look. You avert your gaze to the group who didn’t try stopping them. They looked lost, like all hope was gone in the world. Nobody wanted to look at each other for the answer they didn’t want to hear. That’s when Yuta stood up and grabbed his sword.
His heavy foot steps echoing in the silent, cold room. You wernt surprised seeing him jump into action. He was the strongest sorcerer now. Before making his way fully out, he was stopped by Utahime who blocked his way. Opening his arms wide to block him from passing her.
"We need something from you before you go into the battle field." She said putting her hand on his shoulder. She didn’t say anything else leaving him standing there. Walking into the center of the room she looked around the room. Everyone was still silent, awaiting for a command.
"As you’ve witnessed like on live tv … Gojo Satoru has been…" she took a long pause before continuing "defeated. It is now our turn to finish what he couldn’t, but before that. Yuta Okkotsu you are now the strongest sorcerer in line. With that we can’t let you go until you have a heir."
Everyone turned there attention to Yuta who looked as shocked as everyone else.
"If we all don’t make it today then the world will be overrun by cursed spirits. We need to leave people behind but also someone strong that will lead the rest in the future."
All the females in the room started to look at each other. Obviously they were going to pair him up with one of them and they weren’t sure who. Maki didn’t look concerned though, mostly likely because she knew nobody would force her to do a thing.
"We need all female non sorcerers to step into the middle."
You peeked around the crowed of people to see who would step up. It wasn’t surprising to see non sorcers with them. You were the assistant of Utahime who helped with the school curriculum. A few seconds passed and nobody stepped towards so you began walking. Unsurprisingly you were the only one standing there. Everyone else must of been killed off.
You look at Yuta who’s face began turning a flush red. You couldn’t help but look away in embarrassment too.
With that Utahime grabbed your hand and lead you to the special grade sorcerer. "We don’t have time to map out ovulation days and other things that need to be done. This is all a game of chance if you impregnate her. We need this done before you go out and you y/n will be kept here heavily guarded. We can’t afford to looses the child of the current strongest sorcerer." She said
"But why a non sorcerer? Wouldn’t it be better if you pick someone from a big family so if at least they don’t gain his ability they will gain the mothers." You ask truly confused on the requirements.
Utahime made the both of you follow her to the back towards a room. Obviously you didn’t expect to see a bed room since this was a hidden underground base.
"If he were to procreate with another family then his technique genes would be battling with the mothers to be the one the child obtains. Obviously with no competition it gives his genes a better chance." She said turning around to look at both of you.
Yuta gave a slight shy nod and you just looked at them blankly. You couldn’t believe this was happening. Not that you hated it but this wasn’t exactly how you dreamed of your crush hooking up with you.
"I trust you Yuta to do the right thing and not lie about ejaculating in her." She looked at Yuta with a firm gaze. He nods once again and opened the door In front of him letting you go in first. Stepping inside you could see it was a security camera room. This one being smaller than the one outside. This one seemed to only have cameras for inside the building.
The only thing in here other than that was a broken rolling chair and a poorly lit lightbulb. Looking back at Yuta he seemed nervous. That making two of you. It was your first time and you still had yet to confess your feelings to him. Now you were going to be carrying his child before confessing too. Maybe you should just tell him. It would probably make things feel better and even if he didn’t share the same feelings he could just lie to get this over with faster.
Before you had the courage to open your mouth you watched as he began stripping. Staring by taking his white shirt off revealing a nice six pack under. His pale skin reflecting with the little light you had.
"Y/n come here, you can’t be getting all shy on me now. If you hate it that much just close your eyes and imagine someone else." He said as he rubbed the back of his head.
He had it all wrong that was absolutely the opposite of what you wanted to do. Approaching his you hook your arms over his neck and lean in to his ear. It’s all or nothing, you might never see him after this.
"I want to see you, I could never close my eyes knowing you are the one with me right now. I-I’ve always had a crush on you Okkotsu, so I’m glad I was chosen to be the one." You say leaning back to look at his face.
His face was once again pink. Scanning your face to make sure you were telling the truth. "This wasn’t the way I imagined confessing to you y/n but I also am happy that you are my partner tonight. I hope that maybe after all of this we could be something more." He said looking away, playing with his fingers before leaning in for a kiss. It was a long and sweet kiss that you wished would not end.
Tears weld up in your eyes out of happiness. You were so happy that Yuta felt the same way towards you.
Unbuttoning your shirt you unclip your bra making your breast bounce as gravity pulled them down. He looked at them for a good second before no longer wasting more time. He grabbed your chin as he slipped his tongue in your mouth. Exploring everything he could before leaving. He grabbed a hand full of your breast and fondled them. Pinching his fingers on your nub causing you to moan in his mouth. Your tongue danced with his as he deepened the kiss. As an inexperienced person you didn’t know much about this.
You’ve had a peck here and there growing up but now you were getting full on intimate. Though somehow you could tell Yuta has had his hand full of girls. The way he grabbed you, touched, and played with you was sensational. He knew exactly how much to pinch your now sore nipples. He knew how to kiss you right and the way he looked at you. His dark eyes scanned your face every-time he tried something new to check if you were okay.
Running your hands through the back of his head you feel his silky hair. He hummed into the kiss before taking a step back. Unbuckling his belt with one hand he turned you around with the other. His rough callus hands running up your legs until they reached your behind. With a quick motion he lifted your skirt making a small breeze hit you. The cold air causing you to get goosebumps.
He stepped forward pressing against you with his hard member. He leaned over your shoulder as he returned his hands onto your breast.
"Have you done this before?" He asks as he began fondling your chest. You lean into to him a bit relaxing yourself. Biting your bottom lip as you gave him a quick and embarrassed nod. Maybe he like experienced girls. Maybe you weren’t really his type.
"Okay we’ll I advice you to not turn around. I don’t wanna scare you." He said before leaning down to take off your panties.
Scared? What could possibly scare you other that the world possibly coming to an end? Maybe he had a secret nasty scar that he’s been hiding. Though there would be no reason to be scared of him, he’s Yuta after all.
Turning your attention to a black screen in front of you, you could see the reflection. He stood behind you opening what seemed like a bottle. You didn’t bother asking what it was he was doing in case you didn’t want to know. Though you quickly learned what it was. He bent you over more by putting his heavy arm down on your back making you arch. Standing like that he poured a thick cold solution onto your sex. You quiver at the sudden feeling and buckled your hips. In the reflection you could see him tug his pants down a bit and revealed his member. It wasn’t thick but it sure was long. You soon felt a lump in your throat.
Could that possibly fit in you? Was he going to put it all in. You could see him running his hand up and down his member as he looked at you through the reflection.
"I thought I said no peaking y/n, where you that curious?" He says spreading your legs open. You felt as he put his tip on your entrance.
"I just thought I should know what’s coming." You say.
Once again he wrapped his arms around you and leaned against your ear.
"Okay Im not quite sure how to say this but let’s just say your not going to enjoy this, it’s going to hurt, bad. We really don’t have time to prep you so just hang on okay? I’ll try hard to get it over with so you won’t suffer much. I’ll tell Utahime to talk to you after about possible blood."
You turn around quickly to look at him, "blood?" You knew this was going to hurt but nobody said anything about blood.
"You’ll be fine it’s just normal, it’s just a sign that I broke your hymen. Though you could of already possibly of done it." He said kissing your forehead. His right hand ran up to your throat and his left one to your hip. He basically had you trapped in a corner if you tired to run away or escape from the pain. His fingers rubbed your hip as a sign to tell you to relax. Though it was hard when you heart beat was going crazy.
He heard him stumble as sorry before pushing himself inside of you. The pain hit you like a truck, it was the most painful thing you’ve ever experienced. You let out a gasp and a cry. Your arms that supported you on the desk began to shake. The hand that once held your throat now covered your mouth.
You trying to say his name but it came out as a odd noise.
"I know I know, you have me 1/3 of the way in. Just stay with me a little bit more. Your doing such a good job." He said pushing himself in more.
You jerk at the sudden pain once again. It felt like your insides where being ripped apart. There was a hot, and burning sensation going on down there that you couldn’t bare. You tried pushing his hand away from your mouth but he held a tight grip. Before you could do anything else you felt his grip on your hip stiffen. Before you could process anything else’s he slammed the rest of yourself into you.
You let out a cry that the people outside could of possibly heard. Tears ran down your face onto him hand. You hear his coo sweet little things in your ear and praising you for doing such a good job. All you could do is nod and let the tears fall. You didn’t want to cry but the tears just kept coming.
Yuta hugged you and told you how sorry he was for hurting you. That he’ll try to make you feel better now. His hand snaked down to your clit and began rubbing it. You inhaled sharply at the unfamiliar feeling. It felt good this time though but you felt the same heat as before begin to rise up. You let out small panting and jitters come out. Your hips moving on there own to get more of this new feeling. You could hear Yuta groan as you moved. You were beginning to enjoy the feeling of being filled with his member. He slowly began sliding in and out of you as he rubbed your bean.
"Your going to be such a good mama, your going to look so fucking gorgeous carrying around my baby." He mumbled as he kept going. His pace began going fast and faster making you loose your mind. At some point you randomly started moaning his name out of pleasure. You knees began to buckle and your legs shook. The once good pleasure began to feel over whelming.
The way he slammed deep into you made you feel out of it. You shook your head trying to keep going strong but you couldn’t anymore.
"Yuta, no more, It’s too much."
"Your reaching the best part baby, I can feel how tight you are wrapped around my cock. It’s the best feeling I’ve had so far. I can’t wait to pump my seed into you. Fuck, I won’t have to worry about anyone snatching you away from me now. Your mine and I’m going impregnate you to show people your mine. Your going to be such a good mommy. Your going to make daddy proud arnt ya?"he said as his thrusting became sloppy.
You were gripping onto the table moaning loudly as a haze came over you. You came over his member coating it in your white créame. As Yuta went in and out of you your cum leaked out of you.
With a few more thrust he also came soon after. You felt how his hot seed coated your walls. He stayed inside of you for a bit before grabbing his phone and making a call. He cleared his throat a bit before speaking.
"Yea we’re done over here. I’m still in her but I’m not quite sure if you have something to keep it all in or I should just stay here." He says as he plays with your hair.
You didn’t have energy to even lift up a finger. You just laid on the table resting.
He finished his phone call and lifted you up to stand up. "I have to go and finish the fight outside. Many of the other sorcerers are already out there." He said sliding out of you. You turn around to lean onto him not thinking you could support yourself.
"Your coming back right?" You say looking at him with your doe eyes.
He hugs you and brushes the back of your skirt down .
"I have a really good reason to come back so I will try my hardest. If I don’t come back then please take care of our kid and raise him up to be kind but tough." He said while rubbing your head. With one last long kiss he parted away. Looking at you sadly as he walked out the door.
Soon Shoko and Utahime stood at the door. You look down at yourself and realize a dry streak of blood down on your leg.
Hopefully you were the only one bleeding today.

I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT EX HUSBAND SHANKS 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Okay I was thinking a relationship that’s like SUPER chill and casual. Like literally fuckbuddies turned lovers; u stay on ur home island and he’s off most of the time. Was based close by in the first year or two y’all met and got close so he was around more often but eventually it becomes him stopping by every few months for a few weeks and the two of you keeping up contact while he’s gone. The progression from just messing around to a committed relationship is slow and largely unsaid until Beckman tells you his captain has turned down every other woman for the past two years and you realize you aren’t much searching for other men yourself; soon enough you’ve got matching rings and as untraditional as it is it works.
And I’m just thinking abt how like…….. ur happy w ur life on ur little island, it’s relatively safe all things considered under his protection and you’ve lived there your whole life and all you rlly wanna do is keep your head down and stay there. Getting involved with Red-Haired Shanks puts a major flaw in that plan but it’s easy to forget who exactly he is. He doesn’t hide it, ofc not, but he’s so… unremarkable seeming that it’s difficult to remember, especially when your interaction with him is isolated to a scant few days or weeks when he’s most at ease and the only thing he’s thinking about is you.
But………. then you’re reminded otherwise. It’s silly really, because of course you know. It’s been years since you first met him, you’ve seen the wanted posters and you’ve heard how people talk about him, but knowing in abstract—contrasted by the man who’s managed to marry you, all wide smiles and incessant drunken love confessions and never dodging a well-placed swat from your hand—is far different from seeing in person.
You board his ship for a little trip; something small, only a few days to go retrieve a gift for you that Shanks had foolishly left a few islands away, low-risk and entirely in his territory. But it all goes sideways and you’re forced, quite suddenly, to realize just who you’ve managed to fall for—and exactly what kind of power and prestige he wields—while trapped with nowhere to go but remain on his ship with him and his crew for the days it takes to return.
You feel stupid more than anything, balking like this after one (frankly minuscule) fight. You don’t leave his cabin the whole trip back. He brings you meals, holds you when he can, tells you how much the crew misses you, but he doesn’t understand just how much you’re questioning. How much, you wonder, do you really know Shanks? Bordering on ten years is quite some time but when you only see him a scant few weeks out of those years, how much does it matter?
The ring on your finger, the way he looks at you—they settle on your shoulders more like a noose now, no longer making you giddy. How long until some bitter rival of his storms your home searching for you because they can’t touch him?
How much is he worth it when the lives of everyone in your hometown stand at risk?
You’re smart enough not to pick the fight until you’ve returned. You have it at the door of your home, long overdone and frankly terrified, all but melting down once you’re truly alone with him for the first time in a week. He doesn’t yell back—doesn’t do much, after attempts at soothing you fail, except watch you with a mildly surprised expression on his face.
For the first time in years you don’t let him stay the night, or see him off when he leaves the following day. You sit up on your roof and watch his ship disappear over the horizon and assure yourself that clearly you aren’t cut out for being his.
(But two months later that ship appears again, and an hour after docking there’s a knock at your door, and you can’t help how your breath hitches when you see that red hair beyond the peephole…)

Past Lives | Izzy Hands x Reader
Tumblr media
Izzy Hands x Gn!Reader
Summary: Quite some time has passed since you joined the crew of The Revenge per being saved, and you've grown particularly close to the one who brought you aboard. One night in particular is breathtaking and you decide you cannot contain your feelings anymore, but you had never learned exactly how to express these sorts of feelings to another person, let alone Izzy Hands. So, you do so in the only way you know how.
Warnings: slight angst/tension, slight avoidant attachment style (w/resolution though), kissing, some strong language
Word count: 2264 (some longer ones coming your way in the near future, though!)
A/N: hi hi lovely people! This is honestly the first x reader I've written since I was probably 14-15, so please bear that in mind! My interpretation of Izzy I feel like, isn't always 100% representative of him in the show itself, but I feel like I tried to capture him at his core while exploring this more sensitive side of him that we are getting in season 2, perhaps more of a what he is on the pathway to being, and therefore already is, if that makes any sense. Just has to be unlocked in levels. Plus, Izzy deserves the world so I just wanted to write something sweet to dip my toe back into this sort of writing. Anyhow, I'd like to get back into the habit of writing these so please, do request! I hope you all enjoy this one, comments are much appreciated xx
The stars illuminated the sky in such a way that it almost looked like a painting—a bit too picturesque, like one of those artworks that only aristocrats could afford to have on the wall of their ornate mansions passed through the centuries, or even built and curated just for them. Nonetheless, it was breathtaking, and the fresh air coursed through your veins and senses so effortlessly and made you feel alive. Nights like these weren't meant to be spent hidden away in your quarters and you knew that. Once you were sure everyone had retired for the night, you quietly crept onto the main deck, ready for your moment of solace that you had been seeking for weeks now.
You approached one of the railings, scanning across the deck still to see if anyone had been lurking nearby. The coast was clear, and finally, you found somewhere to lean on as you stared out into the night sky, the wind blowing through even the hairs on your neck, making them stand. On occasion, you'd be sprayed by the sea but it was the most at peace you had felt in weeks.
"Rough night?" you heard someone quietly call from a short distance away. You almost jumped, but you quickly turned around only to see Izzy Hands. Relief washed over you, as did a nervous feeling that had only begun recently. You inhaled sharply as Izzy waltzed over, thanking the stars for not illuminating this spot too much, therefore being no way he saw you craving that much air in your lungs. He leaned beside you on the railing, awaiting your reply.
"Not at all," you admitted. "Quite the opposite. It's so beautiful out tonight."
Izzy only nodded. He joined you in looking out at the landscape presented before him. In all of his years of sailing, it was all he had ever known--the sky and the sea, yet, he had never thought it to be this ravishing before. He never noticed how lovely it could be. Being here with you, he saw it all in a new light. He discreetly glanced over at you once again. He had noticed the way your lips slightly parted when you saw something you liked, and the way your shoulders lowered when you were relaxed. He noticed that you'd twiddle your thumbs when you were truly happy—in fact, you happened to be doing it right now. Izzy allowed his lips to curl into a smile upon realizing this. Finally, he broke the silence.
"I've never seen anything like this," he admitted, almost out of breath whilst he was still looking over at you. You still hadn't noticed.
"Isn't it...divine?" you chuckled. "Beautiful seems too weak a word."
"I feel the opposite. I don't think I've ever described anything as beautiful before."
"Really? Not once?"
Izzy shook his head. "Saving it for something special, I guess."
Silence filled the space between the two of you once again, but for once in your life, it was a comfortable silence. You looked out at the sea, but this time, you could feel Izzy's eyes on you. You attempted to discreetly glance his way, and you couldn't help but smile when you locked eyes. You looked away as you practically felt your cheeks burning and your stomach turning, and you hoped to the sea gods that you weren't falling ill. But these forlorn feelings felt honestly incredible, for once. A wave of confusion crashed over you, and it was growing more and more difficult to ignore.
"You alright?" Izzy inquired with genuine concern. This entire time, his eyes have not left you.
"What? Me?"
Izzy chuckled. "Who else?"
"Fine. Just fine."
"Just fine?"
"Do you believe in past lives?" you suddenly heard yourself ask, and already you were cursing yourself for it.
"Past lives?" Izzy repeated pensively. You nodded, looking over at him intently. It took him a moment to think of a response, and even still, he seemed unsure. "This sure as hell feels like the first time I'm living. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have made a lot of the decisions and mistakes I've made, I suppose."
You felt your heart sink, and it almost felt like there was no way to retrieve it. "I see. Well, goodnight."
Without letting Izzy have another word, you scurried back to your quarters, tears streaming down your cheeks like waterfalls.

You awoke the next morning with a sharp pain in your chest. You winced as you forced yourself out of bed, though as you dressed, the feeling began to dissipate. You almost teared up again upon reminiscing last night. What were you thinking, asking something like that of Israel Hands? Where did that even come from? Why did his answer hurt so terribly? A million thoughts swarmed around in your head like flies, and there wasn't much you could do to swat them away. You felt like holing yourself up in your room but you knew that with Stede as one of the captains, this wasn't much of an option. After hovering your hand above the doorknob for what seemed like ages, you finally twisted it, revealing yourself to the crew. Already, everyone seemed to be intertwined in their usual antics and fuckeries--it would have been fun and refreshing to see if not for the somber mood you were in. Lucius waved you over, and you seriously thought of walking right past him, but he was your dear friend, like a brother to you and you wouldn't have forgiven yourself if you dismissed him. You trudged over to him, and he immediately recognized your gloom.
"Well good morning, mopey," Lucius teased, nudging you in the shoulder.
"Not today, Luci," you mumbled. "Not today."
Lucius' smile dropped, though he raised a brow. "Talk to me. Who do I need to punch?"
"No one. I'm just having a bad day."
"You are such a bad liar."
"I just don't wanna talk about it," you grumbled. Lucius was at a loss for words, but thankfully you knew just what to say. "The sky was lovely last night. If only you'd been awake to sketch it. You're the only one who would have done it any justice."
"Maybe I'll have another chance tonight," Lucius said hopefully.
"Maybe you will," you breathed out as suddenly, none other than Izzy himself appeared onto the deck. You gulped and turned away from him immediately.
"Whoa, whoa. What's going on with you and Iz—“
"—I don't wanna talk about it," you almost seethed. Before you knew it, a finger tapped your shoulder. You swiveled around, fighting the tears in your eyes.
"Got a minute?"
"Not exactly."
"What better do you have to do?" Izzy demanded. Your jaw dropped, and you were waiting for your thoughts to catch up with your mouth but they never did. "That's what I thought. Come on, Y/N."
"Later, okay? Not right now. Tonight," you promised. "That's my best offer."
"I'll hold you to it."
You immediately realized the mistake you had made, and how difficult and miraculous it would be to get through this entire day before possibly knowing what Izzy wanted from you.

The shadow of the moon was present once again, and for once, you dreaded the wonders of nighttime. It felt perilous and peculiar now, like a friend you didn't quite recognize anymore. But, a promise was a promise, you'd be damned if you broke one, let alone this one. As frustrated and almost devastated as you were, you'd never allow yourself to break a promise to Izzy. You pulled your favorite capelet over your shoulders and started toward the deck to find Izzy already waiting in your usual spot. You hadn't realized it until now, but this really was your and Izzy's spot. It's where you wiped away his tears when he cried in front of you the first time, it's where he sat with you countless times when you couldn't sleep, it's where the two of you conversed until dawn frequently. Always this spot. It took everything in you to fight off a pang of joy upon experiencing such an epiphany. Izzy didn't notice that you had appeared beside him until you looked over at him finally.
"Are you alright? You seemed a bit...I don't know. Not yourself this morning, and last night."
"I'm fine," you shrugged, knowing Izzy would see right through you like you were a phantom.
"I don't buy that for a second," Izzy rolled his eyes. And with that, silence surrounded you both once again. It frustrated Izzy to no end that he couldn't figure out what was plaguing you. He always felt as if he was able to put a finger on whatever it was that bothered you, he prided himself on knowing you that well. The last thing he wanted was for you to become a stranger after all the two of you had endured together. The thought of losing you filled him with a sorrow he had never felt before.
"I'm sorry about what I asked you last night. About past lives and stuff," you suddenly said. Yet another moment where your mind and mouth weren't synced. You regretted saying this as soon as you began to speak, but you knew that once you did, there would be no stopping, no taking anything back.
"What was that all about, anyway?" Izzy implored. You almost scoffed at his tone but when you met eyes with him, you instantly realized that he genuinely wished to know. His eyes sort of twinkled when he was curious, and this was the first time you noticed such an endearing phenomenon.
"I just," you exhaled, pausing before you spoke again, this time choosing your words carefully. "Why'd you save me that day at Jackie's?"
Izzy was taken aback at such a question. "Isn't it obvious?"
"Not at all, actually," you laughed in annoyance, which was only a coping mechanism for the extreme anxiety you were undergoing in this moment.
"I honestly can't give you an answer you'd want," Izzy admitted. "I just felt...called to. I could tell it would be nice having you around here. I wanted to give you a place you could call home."
"So, wait, you care about me?" you inquired seriously, which only earned a chuckle of disbelief from him.
"Of course I do, dammit!"
"I don't know, Iz, I just...from the moment we met I felt this connection to you and I can't explain it. No matter how hard I could try, I won't be able to. I felt like I was meant to be around you."
"You think I didn't feel that way, too?"
"You did?" you asked, a glint of hope looming in your voice.
"Of course I did. And, I do. I can't explain it either. But I felt as if we were meant to be around each other, in each other's lives. I don't know," he rambled nervously. This was the first time you had seen Izzy like this. It was a side of him you weren't even sure he possessed until now.
"I guess I sort of caked that to the past life shit," you sighed. "And when you said you didn't believe in past lives, I freaked out and took that as you not caring about me and everything we've built just felt like a huge lie."
"Everything we've built," Izzy repeated.
"I'm so sorry," you laughed embarrassedly. "I don't know what I'm talking about."
"No," Izzy cut you off, putting his gloved finger to your lips. You could feel Izzy's breath on your face. "If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have asked you to come with me. I had only known you for a few moments and I already knew you would be...important to me."
You were absolutely baffled. You opened your mouth to speak, and not a sound escaped it. Izzy took a step closer to you, slowly moving his hand to cup the right side of your face.
"And it helps that you are just...beautiful," he whispered as your foreheads touched. You could've sworn your heart was going a million miles a minute and that you would need some sort of village medic after this. As if it were instinct, your hand made its way into his carefully swept hair, and it felt like silk between your fingers. All of your worries suddenly melted away as you melted into one another, your lips brushing up against one another's. You nodded pleadingly, yes, you wanted this, followed by a nod from Izzy and finally, like puzzle pieces, your lips connected. It felt effortless and so, so right to share such closeness. Two becoming one, two souls merging to create a love bigger than either of you. A love that had been carefully crafted ever since the first day of meeting. A love that the both of you knew would inevitably take hold, because it always did in all the stories you devoured and then later went on to show to Izzy. A love that you had craved since you heard of the concept of it. A love that Izzy never thought he would attain in his lifetime.
You gasped happily for air, yet your foreheads still touched. Izzy gazed at you as if you were the only other person in the world and the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes upon.
"Perhaps I haven't had any past lives," Izzy breathed. "but I will have love for you in all my next."
