Tara Carpenter x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None??
Summary: You come late to a class one day, and an unexpected friendship, (and maybe more) blossoms.
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: Woo! This was a long one to write, and i'm not sure if i added enough fluff in there, but if you guys want a part two, i'm happy to write more :)
Tumblr media
You had been pining over this girl for six months. At first it was all fun and games, just some motivation to get up and into class each morning. But soon with every nice gesture and soft smile she sent your way, it turned into something more.
Tara Carpenter.
She was the prettiest girl you've ever laid your eyes on, with wide doe eyes and freckles littered everywhere across her face. You'd noticed her one particular day when you had realized you overslept, rushed into class, in nothing but your jamies and an oversize hoodie.
When you opened the doors, a little loud, okay maybe a lot loud, everyone's heads snapped to you. You stilled, acutely aware of everyone’s eyes on you.
A small giggle sounded through the room, and you locked eyes with a short-looking brunette.
Feeling embarrassed enough to last a lifetime, you quickly hurried over and sat next to the girl, a blush rising up your neck at everyone still staring.
"As I was saying..." The professor began, to which most people took their eyes off you and focused back on the lesson. You breathed out a sigh.
"That was quite an entrance, if I do say so myself." A voice sounded beside you.
When you turned your head to look at her, the comeback you had so cleverly thought up died in your throat.
"I- um, hi! Yeah, it was a crazy day, see- I just went to a party last night and I might've gotten crazy drunk and then forgot to set my alarm and woke up and realized we had a test today, so I really wasn't thinking about my outfit, but-" You stopped when you realized you'd been rambling, the blush rising to the tip of your ears now, though for a totally different reason.
The girl cocked an eyebrow up and gave a tiny smirk.
"Sorry, my name's YN. I'm not usually this stupid." You offered her a handshake, head turned down in embarrassment.
"A handshake?" She asked a little teasingly, but took your hand nevertheless.
Deciding you'd already embarrassed yourself enough for one day, you turned back to the teacher, determined not to act stupid in front of this pretty girl.
"Tara." She mumbled after a while, but loud enough for you to hear.
"I'm sorry?"
She turned to you and tilted her head a bit, like staring hard enough would allow her to read your mind.
"My name's Tara." She said, giving you another soft smile.
You felt your lips start to tug upwards at the ends, and a giddy feeling, like butterflies entered your stomach.
"Pleased to meet you, Tara."
_
The both of you never talked about the routine you got into, but ever since that first day, when you walked into class and scanned the room, you would always look for Tara first.
She would always leave a seat beside her for you, death glaring anyone that tried to sit in it.
It was a comfortable situation, and you were content in being in her company, even though it was only for a few hours.
You’d bring her and yourself some coffee, quickly remembering what her go-to order was.
Sometimes you guys would study together in the library, throwing flirty comments and looking at each other longer than friends should.
You couldn’t help but get distracted sometimes in class, what with such a gorgeous girl next to you, how could you not?
Unbeknownst to you, Tara would also sneak some peeks in, but she was a lot more discreet about it. You never caught her staring once.
-
But on one random Tuesday morning, she wasn't there. It was weird of Tara to not be there before you, since you were always late, but you shrugged it off and figured she might've gotten lost on the way to class. She would never miss a class in her life. You brushed the nagging feeling in your chest away.
Halfway through the lesson, the nagging feeling turned into outright worry. Tara would never miss a class without an important reason, and if she did, she would have at least texted you about it. The two of you had grown pretty close in the last semester.
y/n: Hey, are you okay?
She never answered.
As soon as the class ended, you sprinted outside and started running.
Finding the way to Tara's apartment was a bit challenging, seeing as though you'd never been there before. But Tara had given the address to you once, during a frat party you attended together.
You swayed on the heels of your feet anxiously, hoping Tara was home and not out somewhere dangerous. You had heard news of a new killer around, though you didn't pay it much attention. You certainly didn't want Tara to be one of his victims though.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A girl you'd never seen before opens the door, expression clearly annoyed. She looked a bit like Tara, but her demeanor was all dark and gloomy, completely unlike Tara.
"Um...is Tara home?" You mumbled, starting to feel small under her intense gaze.
"And who the hell are you? " She asked, eyebrows furrowed, arms crossed in front of her chest.
"YN?" Came a voice from inside, and you immediately recognized it as Tara's.
The girl at the door was pushed aside gently, and you looked down to see Tara, a curious expression painting her face.
"Ohmygod i'm so glad your okay. I was so worried I thought that psycho killer might've gotten you." You mumbled as you pulled her in for a tight embrace, her face nuzzling in the side of your neck. A small giggle erupted from the girl, and she held you a little tighter.
You stayed like that for a while, until someone loudly cleared their throat beside you.
You pulled away quickly, forgetting that there were other people present, and straightened up, raising your hand to the girl who greeted you at the door.
“Sam? Is everything okay?” Came a male voice from inside the apartment.
“Yeah, we’re good Chad!” She shouted back, still eyeing you like you were scum on earth.
You took a breath and stepped forward, raising your hand and meeting her eye.
"Hi. I'm YN." She eyed your hand, arms still crossed and very much still looking furious.
"A handshake?" She shot Tara a look, expressing something like a "really? this is the one you pick?"
"Yeah i'm sorry if i'm intruding, I just wanted to make sure Tara was okay since she didn't come to class today." You explained.
The older girl was fast to snap back, "You are, and you've seen her, so you should leave now."
"Sam!" Tara exclaimed, taking a hold of your wrist to prevent you from leaving.
"It's okay Tara, I don't mind. As long as I know you’re okay, then I’m good." You whispered, making sure she looked you in the eye to express how serious you were.
Her eyes softened a little, before turning to Sam and speaking slowly.
"He must've saw her come up. We can't let her go. She might get attacked."
You furrowed your eyebrows, starting to get confused about what they were talking about.
Sam must've saw the look in Tara's eyes, because she rebuffed her immediately, glaring at you as she said, "Absolutely not. I know nothing about her, you know nothing about her. For all we know, she's the killer!"
At that you step in.
"Woah, woah woah. I just gotta defend myself here and say I don't know what you're talking about right now, but I am most definitely not a killer." You winked at the older girl, trying to keep the mood light.
Oh shit. That sounds exactly like something a killer would say.
"I mean-! I'm just Tara's friend, I wanted to make sure she was okay. She never misses class so I came to check on her." You hurried out, seeing the look of suspicion growing on Sam's face.
"Please, Sam. How many innocent people are you gonna let die? And if she is the killer, then we'll have her right here with us! We'll keep an eye on her." Tara pleaded, though her tone was more pressed than anything.
Sam let out a scoff, and walked away, further into their apartment.
You’re left standing in the hallway corridor, not really sure what just happened.
"I guess that's a yes." Tara sing-songed and smiled at you, pulling you in and closing the door and giving you a peck on the cheek.
Your eyes widened and you tried your best not to gulp, but by the way Tara's smile turned even bigger, you know you failed.
"Come on, let's go meet the others." She tugged on your wrist, which she was still keeping a death grip on. Effectively dragging you forward to the living room.
You snap out of your daze and start to follow her, but not before asking a question you should’ve asked about five minutes before.
"What's this about me being a killer again?"

Valentine's Day

A/N: Will I ever stop writing poly satosugu? No. No I won't.

Your boyfriends were theatrical, Satoru especially. Suguru, if given the chance, much preferred to do things under the radar and special. But then again he was not above putting on a show for you. Especially if Satoru was involved.
Because of this, it kind of surprised you when neither of them mentioned Valentine’s Day. It was the 12th already and so far there had been no mention of the holiday. You thought it might be because they were busy, but that didn’t mean they would forget, right? You knew you could have said something, but the boys usually planned things. Because of that, you didn’t want to get in the way of anything. So you decided to be discreet about it. You wandered into the kitchen and found them both sitting at the table, meager discussion floating from their lips.
“Hey.” You murmur, fiddling around the kitchen.
“Hi bunny!”
“Hey baby.”
Your eyes flick up and notice the two giving you smiles. Satoru’s eyes brightening up significantly, his smile akin to something like the sun. Suguru’s head tilted, his grin matching something much more graceful. The moon perhaps. Your sun and moon. You supposed that made you their stars, didn’t it?
You narrow your eyes before looking down at a spare cup.
“What do you guys wanna do this week?” You ask, hoping not to be too obvious.
You fill your cup up with water and lean against the counter.
“Oh, there was that new movie I was telling you guys about. It comes out on Tuesday.” Satoru thinks out loud.
“Whatever you want to do baby.” Suguru responds with a tight lip smile, his eyes gently closed.
Had they really not had anything planned? It was odd, but you didn’t want to push it.
It wasn’t like you particularly minded doing nothing for Valentine’s Day this year.
That’s what you told yourself at least.
It was finally Valentine’s Day and you had willfully resigned. This year you were just not going to do anything, and you tried convincing yourself it was okay. You requested the day off in advance, figuring that something would be planned, but it didn’t seem needed anymore. So, you were going to use the day to do nothing.
When you woke up in the morning, your bed was empty besides you. You had long gotten used to the feeling of your bed being filled to the brim, hot and stuffy after a long night's sleep with multiple bodies. Not seeing the two boneheads made you sad.
Your eyes float over to the corner of the room, where you stuffed each other their Valentine’s Day gifts underneath a pile of your clothes. Even if you weren’t going to be doing anything today, you still wanted to surprise them with it.
You get out of bed and patter around the house trying to see if they were anywhere else. Much to your dismay, the house was empty.
Your stomach grumbles while you pad your way to the kitchen. Normally, Suguru would be whipping up a storm in there while Satoru sat nearby to pester him. The kitchen was empty today, much to your chagrin. With a sigh, you grab leftovers and sit on a stool, flicking your phone open once you see Satoru’s name pop up.
“Hey! Thought you were gonna sleep forever.”
“Might’ve if I wasn’t alone.” You grumble.
You hear Satoru chuckle and you look at your food distatefully. The conglomerate of leftovers suddenly becoming the most unappealing thing in the world to you.
“Poor bunny.”
“Where are you both anyway?”
The line is quiet for a second as if Satoru was speaking to someone.
“Just had to pick up a few things for tonight.”
“Okay. Will you make sure to get milk too? We’re out.”
The line cuts to silence once more which confuses you. Usually Satoru had a lot to say, normally you had a hard time getting any words in during a phone call with him. After a couple seconds of silence and what sounds like the phone being muffled, his cheery voice comes back. You and Satoru begin talking again before something rouses you from the conversation. Your doorbell jolts you from the call, but you quickly glaze over it.
“Aren’t you gonna get that?” He asks.
“No, probably has the wrong address.” You say and pick at your nails.
“I'm not so sure.”
For the sake of entertaining him, you hop off your chair and make your way to the door. Once you open it, you find a black shopping bag on the ground. You look at it in confusion before leaning down to pick it up.
“Yeah, no, this definitely is the wrong house.”
Satoru sighs loudly causing you to pull the phone away.
“Just look in the bag!” He complains like a child.
“Alright alright.” You sigh before shutting the door, lugging the bag inside.
Usually you wouldn’t put up much of a fight, but today you were less than amused.
Once you arrive to your room, you plop the bag down on your bed and rummage through it. There was a white card on the top, peaking your interest. Your name was scrawled in gold on the front, the font looking much too fancy, as well as text on the other side. It read, “Your treasure awaits”.
Your heart begins to pick up. Satoru was on the line still, but there was no noise coming from him. With shaky hands you open the bag more, finding something else. As you pull it out you notice it’s a tight black dress, exactly your size. At the bottom of the bag there was another white card. On the front end it said “Suguru’s favorite place.” Flipping it over you see what’s written on the back. “You slid into my heart.”
“Satoru, what is all this?” You question.
“Looks like you have to find out.” He says joyfully, clicking the line, leaving your mind reeling.
You pull the dress on and look at yourself in the mirror. It looked really good on you. The boys really enjoyed picking out outfits for you, flaunting you like their own dress up doll. You didn’t mind really, not when they always paid for it. You hold the card in your hand, eyes flicking back and forth over the lettering. Suguru’s favorite place? He wasn’t very picky, he enjoyed lots of places.
Suguru really enjoyed the museum, you knew that. Images of him walking beside you, reading you all the placards filled your brain. He also liked the cafe that was nestled between stores several streets over. None of those made sense with the clue, though.
With a deep breath you close your eyes and think back. Each thought brought you back to one place. A park he liked seeing.
You stuff their gifts in a bag before setting off.
It was a quaint park. The grass was always green and there was a large field that families enjoyed picnicking at. Off to the side was a playground for children, a long plastic slide crossing the play area. You journey to the playground, eagerly walking to the slide, thinking back to the note that was left in the bag. You see another small bag on the slide and your stomach twists in excitement.
Opening the bag you notice a small box and another note. The note reads “Satoru’s sweet treats” and on the back says “I’m such a nerd for you”. You chuckle to yourself and open the box, seeing a bright necklace packaged inside. The chain was dainty and it held a diamond at the very end, one that shined brightly in the sun. It was hard getting the necklace on on your own, but you were able to manage after a couple minutes.
The next location wasn’t any easier to figure out. Satoru had many places he liked going to for sweets, so it was hard to narrow down.
You think you understood the game now. There would be a present at each location with a card hinting at the next spot. You couldn’t help but notice how the game was so very like the two men. Cheeky, but swirling with romance.
You had no idea why you were so worried they had forgotten the date.
After much inner debate you decided to go to his favorite candy store. It was fairly decent in size as it had to accompany the wide range of treats stored inside. It looked mostly empty when you entered, rows of colorful concoctions lining the walls. Your legs carry you down the aisles while you think back to the hint on the card. It made you want to check for their selection of nerds and sure enough, there was another bag nestled between boxes. This time it was filled with a bracelet, matching your necklace. The employees blush and comment to each other when you walk up, requesting help for your bracelet. They wished you a happy Valentine’s Day and you’re left to exit the store. The idea of Satoru and Suguru coming inside to hide your gift and explaining to the workers what they were doing made you chuckle to yourself.
The day continued much like that, each time you were led across town to find more gifts. The final note was the most confusing. All it said was “back to where it all began” without any other clues on the back side. You thought back to where you and the two had spent your first date. It was a secluded forest, a canopy of trees surrounding the three of you. You remember Satoru laying on his back, Suguru reclined with his hands keeping him up behind him, and you sitting with your legs crossed. You talked for hours.
Once arriving, you find the last bag. Inside was a hair clip, donning an amethyst and a turquoise. The two men fit so well together it was no wonder their birthstones did as well. The card inside the bag only had a phone number on it, so you flipped open your phone to dial it. A nice man answered, asking if you were Satoru’s and Suguru’s girlfriend. With a blush you confirm, hearing an engine starting on the other end. He told you he would be there shortly to pick you up.
This game was fun, and you really enjoyed all your gifts, but you were hoping you would be seeing Satoru and Suguru soon. Material items were nice, but they meant nothing if your partners weren't there by your side.
The car ride was relatively short but still felt extremely glamourous. You rode in a black sleek car, cushions softer than any other vehicle you had been in before. The driver drops you off at a five star hotel, bidding you a farewell before speeding off. You get the room number from the front desk and rush to the room. You nervously look at the door in front of you before knocking on it gently. While you wait, you bounce on your toes and heels and let your mind wander. The game had lasted hours, and your nerves were about to swallow you whole.
The door swings open, the force making your eyes widen in surprise. Satoru stood there in a white button up, eyes wide and frantic.
“Hey.” You speak, your eyes slowly trailing across his body.
Satoru’s hand flies out and grabs you, pulling you into the room. Your back is pressed against a wall and his lips are on yours. Part of you wanted to tell him to slow down, but the way his mouth felt against yours had your mind swimming.
Satoru’s tongue glides out, sliding against your bottom lip before you part your mouth open. His hands roam across your body, not settling anywhere for too long. His presence was overwhelming, suffocating and somehow not enough.
More, you needed more. If it was possible to fuse souls you were sure you would’ve by now.
Your hands clutch his shirt, if it wasn’t as expensive as it was there was a real chance you would’ve torn it.
“Satoru, I was only gone for five minutes.” A familiar voice speaks behind Satoru.
He pulls his lips from yours and stares deeply into your eyes, the tension palpable.
“Couldn't resist.” Satoru speaks, his tone heavy.
He pulls away from you and you feel yourself deflate, body aching for more.
“Our girl is just too beautiful.”
Satoru pulls you away from the wall, presenting you to Suguru. His hands hold your waist still while his chin rests on your shoulder.
You look at the man in front of you. Suguru was dressed in a black button up, his hair swept up into a bun. His fox eyes slowly slide down your body, taking you in.
“You look beautiful baby.” Velvet words grace your ears.
After all this time, still, still he made your heart flutter.
He takes a step forward, lifting up your hand. He intertwines his fingers with yours, before pulling your hand up to place a kiss on your knuckles.
“Happy Valentine’s Day princess.”
Suguru’s words float over to you, but you’re almost too distracted by the both of them to fully understand what he said.
“Thought you guys might’ve forgotten.”
Suguru pulls you away from Satoru and further into the room, and you notice a table in the middle of it. There were two candles placed on top, with three plates spaced evenly. Only now do you recognize a heavenly scent filling the room.
“Us? Forget Valentine’s Day?” Satoru laughs, pulling your chair out for you.
Satoru sits in one of the chairs opposite you, watching as you take everything in.
“It’s possible! I was about ready to order take out all by myself and watch the notebook on repeat.”
“Unfortunately you’re stuck with us.” Suguru graces you with a small grin.
“What’s for dinner?” You ask, watching Suguru carefully lift off the lid over your plate, then moving on to remove his and Satoru’s.
“Steak! Although Suguru insisted on making it himself.”
Suguru raises an eyebrow at Satoru before sitting down next to him. Scents from the meal slowly waft up to your nose, making your stomach grumble.
“I’m pretty sure you told me you liked my cooking better than anyone else’s.”
“And you caved immediately!” Satoru responds cheekily, making Suguru huff in annoyance.
Suguru was stuck trying to defend himself while you and Satoru were ignoring him, beginning to cut your steak. He eventually gave up, grumbling to himself before popping open a bottle of champagne.
“You should’ve seen him. He was running around the big fancy kitchen trying to prepare everything. I wish I caught it on tape. Do you think I could ask the hotel for their security footage?” Satoru rambles, popping a piece of steak in his mouth.
“I can picture it perfectly. How’d they let you in anyway?”
“Satoru bought their silence, he’s a sneaky dog.” Suguru answers, pouring champagne into both of your glasses, purposefully avoiding Satoru’s.
The meal tasted just as wonderfully as you could’ve imagined. It melted on your tongue, Suguru’s cooking never failing to amaze you. You were glad that Satoru convinced him to cook. You had fun eating at restaurants with them, but nothing quite compared to Suguru’s cooking.
“How long do we have the room for?” You ask, looking around at the wide open space.
You had never been in such a fancy hotel before, you didn’t even wanna know how much one night costed.
“Satoru just gave them his card so we can stay for as long as we like.”
“Is there anything your money can’t buy?” You cast a look over to Satoru who was happily humming while eating.
“Nope!”
The rest of the meal you and Suguru poke fun at Satoru, teasing him for treating money so fickly. Your laughter filled the room, making it feel even more homey when paired with the food.
Then again, you were sure anywhere would be home as long as they were with you.
Champagne flowed through your veins and you swore the bubbles did too. It felt like your skin was burst alight, your body floating on happiness.
You hum and reach out a hand, grabbing onto Satoru’s hand.
“Wanna dance.”
His eyes light up at your request and he turns to Suguru. The two men share a look before Satoru is hopping out of his chair, quickly heading towards you. The air of excitement he held only floated over to you, raising you up even higher.
You felt so good.
You kick off your heels and tiptoe carefully to the middle of the room. Satoru’s arms latch onto you, getting in position. It wasn’t long before Suguru strolled over to sit on the bed and watch, his phone held tightly in his hand while he played music.
You couldn’t follow the beat even if you tried, luckily Satoru was there to guide you through it. He teases you, his airy laughter tickling your ear. You could feel Suguru’s gaze on the both of you as he watched his lovers sway back and forth. Satoru’s body felt warm pressed against yours, his firm hand gripping your lower back.
Suguru leaned back and continued to leisurely sip from his glass, affection pouring over his features. He was thinking back to your earlier conversation. Could you really think they would have forgotten? Never in a million years would they forget you.
The room was spinning. No, wait, shit, were you spinning? You didn’t care. Your laughter echoes off the walls as you stand on your tiptoes to attempt to reach Satoru’s height.
You stop for a breather, hand clutched tightly in Satoru’s shirt. Suguru excuses himself to remove the plates of food, wanting to clear up space.
“That was so much fun.” You say breathlessly.
“Yeah? Want to have some more fun?”
You arch a brow but your question was answered before you could even ask it. Satoru had backed you up against the bed, making you collapse on it. You pull him down with you, relishing in the feeling of his full body weight against yours.
“Yes.”
His lips are on yours in an instant, fanning the flames under your skin. You could tell he was restraining himself a bit, his hand clutched tightly next to your head.
“Touch me, Satoru.” Your words leaked desperation.
“Fuck, don’t say that. We gotta wait for Suguru.” His actions don’t align with his words.
His tongue caresses against yours, his skin tingling once his tongue dips into your mouth. He had kissed your mouth billions of times, but each time he did he swore there was new territory for him to mark and explore.
“Can’t keep your hands to yourself tonight, Satoru.” Suguru chides from behind him.
Satoru pulls away and you feel an ache underneath your lips, begging for his lips once more.
“She started it.”
“Yes, we do have a needy girl on our hands, don’t we?”
Satoru moves out of the way, exposing Suguru to you. Your breath hitches at the sinful expression he holds while staring down at you.
His hands reach out to grab you, pulling you up to stand. His presence is overwhelming as he turns you around, pressing you against the empty table. You follow his motions to guide you down, his lips ghosting over your skin.
“Look so wonderful for us darling.” His words muffle against your skin as he places chaste kisses against your neck.
You can feel yourself shake beneath him, desperate for more. He was teasing you, but what kept you through it was knowing how satisfying everything would be once he deemed it time.
“Need it Suguru.” You whimper, fingers dug into his shoulders.
The heated atmosphere shifts, now drowning you in a lake of fire. Suguru pulls you up from the table and makes you lay on the bed. Your skin is prickling in anticipation, staring up at him. He leans down to press his lips against yours, quelling the fire inside. His tongue feels plush against yours as he drags it through your mouth. Suguru pushes your dress up to pull it off your head, only parting from your mouth to get out of the way. His tongue glides against yours and you taste the bitter bite of the drink, and you wondered if you could get intoxicated off the taste of it alone. Then again, you could always get drunk on him.
Suguru pulls back and kneels against the bed, spreading your legs open for him. He dips his head down, pulling your underwear off you at an agnoizing pace. Satoru whistles, causing you to snap your head up to look at where their gaze lay. Your underwear peeled from your pussy, strings of need attaching to it.
“Fuck.” Suguru whispers under his breath as he glides the clothing down your thighs.
You’re suddenly filled with insecurity, wanting to close your legs. Their eyes stared deep into you, mesmerized by your lust.
“Don’t just look…” You whimper.
Suguru refocuses himself and smiles, trailing fingers up your thighs to spread you out.
“My apologies princess.”
You want to scoff but the noise doesn’t make it out of your throat in time before a whimper escapes. You can feel the eagerness building up inside you as his lips ghost over you. The first time you feel his tongue press against you, you let out a guttural moan. It appeases Suguru, his tongue diving in deeper. He laves it against your clit, tasting the sweet nectar you leaked. You watch as the tendons in his hands flex as he clutches your thighs, bringing you down further against his mouth.
Your hole clenches pitifully as he pleases you. The warmth of his tongue teases your clit, moving in a circle.
The bed dips beside you and you see Satoru next to you, his hard cock in his hand. His eyes were glued to the way Suguru devoured you.
“Satoru.” You say in a whiny voice.
Precum leaks from his tip like a faucet, the sight making your heart pound.
You reach up and grab his cock, experimenting with a couple slow strokes. His chest heaves in response, echoes of low moans falling from his lips.
Suguru wraps his lips around your clit and sucks, your heels digging into his shoulder blades. He could feel the way you trembled beneath him, causing his cock to stiffen below.
Not yet, this was about you.
You pick up the pace, tugging Satoru much faster, mind caught between the bliss of Suguru’s mouth and bringing Satoru to the edge.
“How’s he making you feel bunny?”
You hang your head back, unable to focus on anything besides the primal desire within you. Suguru’s tongue strokes against you, working you up.
“Good- so so good.” The words sound foreign coming from you, your throat dry.
“Gonna cum on his tongue, right?” Satoru asks.
You moan louder, your thighs a mess of spit and your fluid.
“Yes, fuck need to cum.”
You squeeze the tip of his cock before sliding your hand down. Satoru whimpers lowly as he tries to not thrust into the palm of your hand.
Suguru dips his tongue once, twice, into your hole before bringing it back up, teasing your clit once more. Your mouth hangs open as you look back down at him, truly believing god himself was between your legs. Your legs twitch on either side of his head while you shamelessly grind further into his tongue, so close you could almost taste it. It rushes over you suddenly all at once and you’re cumming on Suguru’s tongue, body thrashing underneath him as he tries to hold you down. It gives him a burst of excitement seeing how you lose yourself beneath him.
He reluctantly pulls away from you, watching how you glisten below him. You try to regulate your breathing but fail miserably. Heavy hands work their way across your skin, attempting to bring you back down. It looked like the two were exchanging places. Suguru sits next to you on the bed, nudging a piece of your hair out of the way. His eyes were filled with warmth, nothing but admiration and love in the way he looked at you. It almost made you want to shy away from how intense it felt. He looked at you like he didn’t give you an earth shattering orgasm less than a minute ago.
Satoru’s thighs nudge your legs open wider, bringing your attention back towards him. His hairline was lined with sweat, desperation to feel something, anything corrupting his body. His cock stood at attention, in front of you.
“Please let me fuck you princess, need it, need you.” His voice sounded helpless.
You dig your teeth in your lip and nod, eager to feel him inside you. His tip slides down your opening and you force your eyes shut. Pleasure courses through your body, the idea of feeling more made your mind reel.
Satoru slides inside you slowly, his cock beginning to stretch you out. Your mouth hangs open and suddenly you can’t breathe. You could not get enough oxygen. It felt like you were surrounded by their love, surrounded by the lust you three shared.
He moans, struggling to keep his composure. His fists clench against the bed as he bottoms out completely.
A moment of silence is shared between you while you appreciate the other, enjoying how each other's skin felt.
“Ready, bunny?” He asks breathlessly, his patience running thin.
You nod, trapping his hips in between your legs.
He thrusts in, starting to fuck you.
Your moans bounce off the walls around you. You try to grasp onto something, anything to ground yourself. The force of his cock was knocking all the screws loose in your head, you couldn’t think.
His eyes squeeze shut as he goes. It looked like he might have been mumbling something under his breath.
Your clit throbs at the neglect, needing to feel pressure. You grab one of Satoru’s hands, guiding it between your legs.
He lets out what sounds like a breathless chuckle. Taking the hint, he begins to circle your clit with his finger.
Suguru moves on the bed, kneeling behind your head, his cock above your face. It’s inches away, the mere sight of it making you salivate.
“Wanna do something for me, beautiful?” He asks.
Your elbows prop up bringing you closer to him. You close your eyes and stick your tongue out, sliding up against his sensitive balls. He grunts lowly above you. Your mouth felt like heaven to him as you carefully suck his balls.
Satoru picks up the pace, the sight of you pleasing Suguru searing into his brain. He couldn’t focus on all of it at once, it felt like his brain was short circuiting. His hips stutter as he leans forward, desperate to get Suguru’s cock in his mouth.
Suguru’s chest heaves. The sight in front of him bordered on something holy. His two beautiful partners were in front of him, cherishing his cock. How lucky was he?
Your mouth gently glides over, paying attention to both sides of Suguru’s delicate flesh. Satoru slides his tongue against Suguru, feeling his cock twitch in his mouth.
Suguru pulls Satoru off, an audible pop ringing out. Satoru pouts up at Suguru, wanting to suck him off even more.
“Fuck, you have to stop or I’m gonna cum.” Suguru chastises, his eyebrow twitching.
You place several kisses around, ignoring him. Only when you feel Satoru start slamming into you harder do you come back to the moment. He holds your hips, keeping you in place as he molds your pussy to his cock.
You hear lip smacking above you, the sound of Satoru’s moans being muffled against Suguru’s lips. Suguru holds his face steady while his tongue swirls inside Satoru’s mouth. The taste of his own precum mixed with Satoru’s saliva made his brain feel hazy.
“Feels so good, feels so good!” Satoru pulls apart to chant.
Suguru smiles as he watches his boyfriend fall apart in front of him.
“She does, doesn’t she? You should be thanking me Satoru, for allowing you to let you use her first.”
His words have your pussy clenching around Satoru’s cock, making it borderline impossible for him to keep fucking you.
Satoru whimpers helplessly, his hands digging into your tender flesh.
“T-thank you Suguru, thank you!” Satoru’s gulping down oxygen.
Suguru hums, seemingly placated for now.
“You’re so welcome.” Sickingly sweet.
Satoru’s movements lose all rhythm, all reasoning thrown out the window as he chases his high.
“Gonna cum.” He murmurs, looking down and watching how your body all but sucks him in.
“Ask for it.” Suguru orders.
“Please let me cum now, please I can’t, she’s feels so fucking-“
Suguru slides two fingers into Satoru’s mouth and he eagerly wraps his hand around his wrist while sucking.
“What a good boy, of course you can.”
You feel Satoru’s hips stutter before his cum shoots out inside you.
Satoru moans loudly, all noises slightly garbled from Suguru’s fingers. Ecstasy fills your veins as you watch the sight above you. Beautiful beautiful men. His cock stills inside you while he pulls off Suguru’s hand. His body weight feels heavy against you as he leans over, pressing soft kisses along your throat. Suguru whisks himself off the bed leaving you only a moment of reprieve before he took Satoru’s place. He spread your pussy and grinned to himself.
Oh how he and Satoru loved to make a mess out of you.
“How we feeling pretty girl?” His voice calms your body.
You can’t find any words to say so you just grumble and wiggle below him. He chuckles before nodding his head, dragging his hands up your body leaving goosebumps trailing behind.
“So good for us, always so sweet.” He utters praises in between kisses down your chest.
“Just hold on a little bit longer princess.”
His tip rubs through your folds and you feel your body react instantly. Suguru pushes the head inside and revels how your back immediately arches up, hands clawing at his exposed chest.
“Relax, relax. I’ve got you.” He speaks so quietly you swear you feel your heart stop beating for a moment
He lowers himself down until your skin presses against each other. His nipple and belly piercings drag against your sensitive skin as he sinks deeper into you. Suguru’s lips part, mirroring yours while he watches your face contort into complete pleasure.
You try not to acknowledge the fact that his caramel eyes are flicking across your face. You wouldn’t be able to stand it if you saw how much he adored you.
He presses a kiss to your forehead before he begins to fuck you. His cock drags in your walls, Satoru’s cum making it easier to slide through. Suguru tries to keep his composure as he watches you beneath him. He snakes a hand between you two and massages your clit.
Your body jolts beneath him as you moan into his neck. Both of them made you feel so good it almost made you wonder. Were humans allowed to feel this good?
Suguru hits deep inside you, his quiet moans mingling with yours. You look up and make eye contact with him, his pools of caramel swallowing you whole. His fingers speed up and you could feel yourself falling closer. You reach up and wrap a hand around his throat, bringing him down closer to your lips. Your lips smash together while he winces, your hand still wrapped around his throat.
“Fuck, yes, just like that baby.” His voice sounded husky, a combination of the pressure on his throat and the lust that consumed him.
You were going to be sore tomorrow but you didn’t care. You feel yourself start to cum and Suguru keeps pumping into you, bringing you down even more.
“Good girl, good girl.” Your chest twists and turns at his voice.
Suguru listens to the melody of your moans surrounding him while he slams into you. His cock forces itself into you even deeper as it twitches, cum draining out into your tight walls. His cum mixed with yours and Satoru’s, creating something sinful as it leaks down your body. You could hardly catch a breath as he started to drag himself out of you.
You suddenly felt extremely empty and exposed, feeling the two men’s eyes bore into you.
They share two kisses before Satoru is cleaning up between your legs, his loving cooes escaping his lips.
After you get all cleaned up you cuddle in the bed together, basking in each others presence.
“Oh, my gift is gonna seem lame now.”
Satoru turns to you and Suguru’s eyes widen. They hadn’t really expected anything from you. You bought them something every year, but they always told you you didn’t have to.
“You got us something? Where?” Satoru’s voice peaks.
“It’s in the bag by the table.” Your eyelids start to feel heavy.
You sink further into the bed, enjoying the feeling of Suguru’s fingers stroking your side.
Satoru hops off the bed and brings the bag over, rummaging through it. A big box of chocolates, definitely for Satoru. For Suguru, a teddy bear.
“Too cheesy?” You ask, feeling self conscious.
They had got you this hotel room, even going so far as to create a whole game to lead you to them, all of it was better than perfect.
Satoru tackles you on the bed, quickly placing kisses all over your face.
“It’s perfect bunny!” His words are slightly muffled from your face.
Suguru grabs the teddy bear and grins, holding it close to his chest.
Joy bursts from your skin and you try your hardest not to show your excitement.
“Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day.” They say back, pulling you close.

The Birds Don’t Sing, They Screech in Pain
– Werner Herzog
– – –
You don’t have feelings. You don’t have a heart. The world is a joke and nothing you do matters.
And you got a great ass.
So fuck it.
You close the mirror cabinet and look at your reflection. The steam from your recent shower lingers in the air, creating a hazy atmosphere around you. With a determined gaze, you meet your own eyes, trying to convince yourself of what you so desperately want to believe.
You. Don’t. Have. Feelings.
Sighing exasperatedly, you leave the bathroom to go get dressed. You eye the empty space on the wall where the mirror used to hang in passing and can’t help but smile sardonically at the clean floor below. Who knew you had such a talent for cleaning blood?
If your current job doesn’t work out in the long run, crime scene cleaner could be a viable alternative.
You rummage through your drawer for a fresh pair of panties, a soft bralette without any bothersome hooks, and a flowy dress you can easily pull over your head. Comfort is key today. Your morning shower proved tricky enough, but you managed somehow, maneuvering very ungracefully to keep your injured hand dry.
Thankfully, you were smart enough to go to bed early last night and get up in time this morning, allowing you ample time to change the bandages and dress yourself with just one functional hand.
Exhaustion still lingers in every single one of your bones, but you’re determined to not let it get you down. Not again. So, you pour yourself a cup of strong coffee, sit outside on your balcony, pop the painkillers you got at the emergency clinic on Sunday, and browse the internet for a new mirror.
The sun kissing your skin feels nice, and the fresh air invigorates your senses. There’s even a flock of birds doing their choreographed dance in the sky. Just for you. You’re living in a goddamn dream, aren’t you?
You scoff, down the rest of your coffee, cough when it goes down the wrong pipe, and go back inside once you don’t feel like you’re choking to death anymore. It’s time for work.
Your boss graciously let you work from home on Monday and Tuesday, but since there’s an important meeting scheduled this morning, she’s asked you to come to the office today. The meds should get you through the day, you’ll just have to figure out how to do your job effectively without the ability to type with your right hand.
You could try to push some of your workload onto the new intern who’s been unsuccessfully trying to flirt with you for the past month, but he strikes you as the type to show up with flowers and a teddy bear after you compliment his sneakers once — it’s probably not the best idea to entertain him.
An office romance sounds hot on paper, but your job is the only halfway stable thing in your life, so you don’t want to mess it up for some guy. Especially if said guy looks young enough to get carded in bars.
Why can’t you just not need money and not have to go to work at all? Is that really too much to ask?
“Get your shit together,” you murmur to yourself as you grab your bag, your keys, and quickly check your appearance in the bathroom mirror. Eh, you look fine considering the messed-up past few days you had. The black wrist brace is kind of derpy—you can already see Kristen giggling at it and very much not believing any excuse you invent for it—but the smile you force onto your face looks virtually natural.
What a little sunshine you are.
Sandals on your feet, sunglasses sitting on your nose, wireless earbuds in your ears, your top three songs of the week on a blissful loop, you start your walk to the office. Nothing bad can touch you when the rhythm of your favorite beats courses through your veins, encapsulating you in an invincible cocoon.
For the first few minutes at least.
Your pulse quickens and your chest tightens as the gas station, where Joel could barely wait to pull out of you before gushing about his date, comes into view. And of course, Chris, the clerk, steps outside right as you pass it to inexplicably water the two withered plants next to the entrance.
You attempt to speed walk, hoping to avoid an embarrassing encounter, but where’s the fun in that, right? Sure enough, you hear him calling after you.
You roll your eyes behind your glasses and reluctantly stop, pulling out one of your earbuds as you turn to face him. His eyes fixate on the black brace around your wrist.
“What happened to your hand? Too much fun on the weekend?” he asks, a mischievous grin playing on his lips.
You sigh, not in the mood for a detailed conversation, and also very much aware of what he’s probably insinuating. “Just a little accident at home,” you reply, keeping it vague. “Don’t do yoga if you’re drunk.”
He chuckles. “I’ll keep that in mind.” When he realizes you’re not going to say anything else, he’s nice enough to not keep you any longer. “Well, I hope it heals soon. And let me know if you, uh, need anything. You know where to find me.”
You nod, offering a polite smile, and continue on your way, reinserting the earbud to drown out the world. You turn up the volume, lip-sync, and ignore Joel’s call without missing a beat.
– – –
“Please, tell me. Please, please, please. Come on…you know you’re gonna tell me eventually, so let’s just save us some time and get it over with. You know I can keep a secret.”
As expected, Kristen is very intrigued by your wrist brace. In fact, she has been switching between begging for you to tell her what happened and coming up with some outlandish theories since you sat down at your desk four hours ago. To nobody’s surprise, they all involve some sort of sex accident.
It’s kind of funny, though, that none of the elaborate stories she imagines come close to capturing the absurdity of your reality. Oh well, you’re used to it by now. And yet, there’s no way in hell you’re going to divulge one of your most vulnerable and embarrassing moments to her. Not a chance.
“I already told you,” you say without stopping your one-handed typing. “I got drunk watching The Bachelor and then my genius brain decided that was the perfect moment to try out some new yoga positions. It’s a miracle I only sprained my wrist and didn’t break my neck.” You put on your most convincing smile and look at her. “It’s embarrassing as shit, okay? I mean, look at this thing,” you point at your injured hand. “I look like a kid who fell off a swing on the playground.”
Kristen giggles and is about to say something, but right at that moment, she receives a phone call from a client. She sighs, narrows her eyes, and mouths, “This is not over.” You wink at her and go back to typing with your left hand, occasionally swearing under your breath when you hit the wrong keys. This is all so much fun.
The rest of the day goes by in a blur of emails, phone calls, bad coffee, painkillers, Kristen putting a heart sticker on your wrist brace, another meeting, and your phone lighting up with new messages from Joel.
By 5:30 p.m. your brain is about to explode, so you decide to call it a day and leave. There’s a frozen pizza waiting for you at home and you can hear your pajamas and sofa calling your name. Sweet, sweet solitude; it’s so close you can feel it. You just have to walk out fast eno–
“Drinks.”
“Did you seriously just hide behind that plant and jump out?” you chuckle, and Kristen’s grin tells you that is absolutely, one hundred percent what just happened.
“Drinks,” she repeats. And when you open your mouth, she says it again, but this time she gives you her most adorable pout.
“Okay, okay,” you say with a playful roll of your eyes. “You can stop the puppy routine.”
“I love how easy you are,” she beams at you and plants a kiss on your cheek. “Let’s go!”
The warmth of the summer evening envelops you both as you step outside. The sun, still casting its golden hues across the city, paints the urban landscape with a vibrant palette. Kristen, with a fancy sun hat perched on her head that perfectly complements her black hair, looks for bars near you on her phone.
As you try to decide on a bar, the balmy air carries the distant sounds of the city’s summer symphony. The occasional laughter from a nearby cafe mingles with the hum of traffic, creating a lively backdrop to your anticipation.
Amidst the ambient noise, your phone buzzes with Tommy’s name flashing on the screen. You answer, bringing the phone to your ear.
“Hi Tommy.”
“Hi honey,” Tommy’s voice comes through, the background noise indicating he’s at a lively place. “Just calling to ask how you’re doing today.”
“You know you don’t need to call me every day to ask me that, right?” you chuckle, still unable to understand why he even cares. You don’t deserve him.
“Come on, it’s the highlight of my day,” he says in mock offense, and you can perfectly picture the grin on his face.
“Well, if it’s that important to you…” you say, a smile on your lips. “I’m good. My friend and I are going for drinks. Just need to decide on a bar first.”
“What a perfect coincidence! I’m at this new place right now. They got great burgers and drinks, even non-alcoholic stuff,” he tells you excitedly. “Oh and Joel’s here, too.”
Your heart skips a beat at Tommy’s words. Joel is there, at the same place. The thought of seeing him again stirs a concoction of emotions within you — longing, uncertainty, and a subtle yearning for things to be okay. There’s an undeniable pull. You miss him.
As you take a moment to think of your answer, Kristen mouths, “Who’s that?”
“It’s my friend, and he’s inviting us to join him at a bar,” you explain to her.
Tommy’s voice perks up on the phone, “Come on, it’ll be a blast. The more, the merrier!”
You look at Kristen questioningly, and she gives you two thumbs up and a big smile.
You sigh and look up at the sky. There’s a big bird chasing a smaller one. “Okay, we’re in,” you say to Tommy, and his excited shouts in your ear make you giggle. He sends you the location and you immediately order an Uber for you and Kristen. You don’t have to wait for long.
Sitting in the car, your initial, albeit reluctant, excitement has turned into annoyance as the hands of the clock seem to move at an agonizingly slow pace. What was supposed to be a ten-minute journey has stretched into an interminable thirty minutes, courtesy of the unrelenting rush hour traffic.
The air inside the car feels stifling, even with the AC humming, and the incessant chatter about football between the driver and Kristen becomes an indistinct drone. Your lack of interest in the sport combines with the whirlwind in your head, making their conversation an incomprehensible blur.
As your stomach churns, a sense of queasiness settles over you, intensifying the already uncomfortable ride.
By the time you make it to the bar, you’re tired, cranky, and wish you had just gone home after work. You could be lying on your sofa right now, stuffing your face with pizza, watching Netflix, and testing your new vibrator before falling asleep in your soft bed. But no, you just had to be social, hm?
As you enter the crowded and lively bar, the buzz of upbeat chatter, clinking glasses, and the rhythmic thump of music surrounds you. Everyone’s loud and happy, and you’re just not in the right mood for it. Slowly making your way through the sea of faces with Kristen trailing behind, you spot Tommy seated in a cozy booth.
The mere sight of him puts you at ease — for about a second, that is.
Your eyes fall onto Joel and the woman who’s casually touching his shoulder, comfortably nestled against the plush cushioned seats. You’ve never seen her before, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist or even a sober brain to figure out who she is. What is she whispering into his ear now? He’s laughing. You can see his eye crinkles from where you’re standing.
The sight is like a punch to your gut.
For a moment, you’re frozen in place, and the urge to turn around and run away grips you. Unwelcome emotions and memories surge back, catching you off guard and leaving you breathless. Just as you contemplate an escape route, Tommy spots you from across the room, his face lighting up.
“Sweetheart,” he shouts, rising from his seat and waving enthusiastically. His excited shout draws the attention of everyone around him, including Joel. Your eyes lock, and for a brief moment, the world around you fades. The corners of his lips instinctively turn upwards as he looks at you, but after spotting your wrist brace and the pained look on your face, he furrows his brow.
What the hell happened to you?
In the blink of an eye, you flip a switch in your brain, put on the most radiant smile you can muster, straighten your shoulders and cross the room. Joel’s concerned eyes don’t leave you for a second.
“There she is,” Tommy says, genuine warmth in his voice as he leans in to plant a kiss on your cheek, followed by a tight, comforting hug. “It’s so good to see you.”
“You too, Tommy,” you murmur, a sense of momentary relief washing over you in the wake of his presence.
He pulls away from the hug, extending his greeting to Kristen, before introducing you both to the beautiful brunette sitting next to his brother. Draping his arm around your shoulders, he tells you with a smile that, “This is Jan, an old school friend of mine. We actually didn’t plan this whole meeting with everyone, somehow we just all ended up here. Funny coincidence,” he chuckles and you strain the muscles around your mouth so hard it hurts.
“It’s nice to meet you, Jan,” you say, reaching out to shake her hand. She reciprocates your greeting and gives you a charming smile.
“And I don’t need to introduce you to this guy, huh?” Tommy grins, squeezing your shoulder.
Your gaze shifts to Joel, who’s caught in the limbo of whether to remain seated or stand up, so he ends up awkwardly half-standing, caged in the narrow space between the bench and table.
“Hi, Joel,” you say, your eyes lacking their usual vivacity—a detail not lost on him.
He settles back into his seat, audibly clearing his throat. “Hi, darlin’.”
He studies your face as you settle down beside Tommy. You look as beautiful and glowing as always, but the longer he looks, the more cracks in the carefully put up facade he can see. Your smile isn’t genuine, your eyes look a bit swollen—like you’ve been crying or not sleeping well—and your body language screams unease.
The others may not notice, but he does. Because he knows you.
Kristen takes a seat beside Jan, seamlessly weaving herself into the ongoing conversation with Joel. Her ability to navigate social dynamics with such ease leaves you marveling – how is she so good at this? Her charm extends, connecting the trio in animated small talk.
Your body eases into a semblance of relaxation as Tommy pulls you closer and presses a kiss on the crown of your head. “I’m so glad you’re okay,” he whispers into your hair, a tender reassurance that brings a sense of solace.
Sitting up straight, you return his smile, gratitude evident in your eyes. “Thanks to you.”
Tommy beams at you, momentarily lost in the exchange, before redirecting his attention to the group. “Are you guys ready for a first round of drinks?” he asks, the unison response from everyone echoing with enthusiasm, a collective “yes” that adds a burst of energy to the already vibrant atmosphere.
– – –
After three rounds of drinks (you very responsibly decided to change to coke after one mojito), burgers, nachos, sharing the epic tale of how you managed to hurt your hand doing yoga, Jan gossiping about the guy her adult daughter brought home last week, Tommy sharing hilarious stories from his and Joel’s workplace, and everyone seemingly having loads of fun, you let yourself relax a bit.
It’s nice witnessing Joel’s laughter and enjoyment. A warmth spreads through your heart at the sight, a flicker of happiness for him. Yet, the subtle discomfort lingers as Jan’s touch becomes a constant presence on his arm. Rationalizing it as a casual gesture during conversation and under the influence of drinks doesn’t fully erase the twinge of unease settling within you.
But you can handle it, you convince yourself.
Until you can’t.
You can’t handle it when Jan’s hand finds its way to Joel’s thigh and her lips brush the shell of his ear.
You glance at Joel, searching for a reaction, a flicker of discomfort perhaps, but his response is subtle. A shift in his seat, a movement so slight it could be mistaken for a casual adjustment, yet there’s a discernible change in his demeanor. It’s a momentary pause, a beat in the rhythm of the evening.
The weight of the scene bears down on you, and you feel a pang of vulnerability, a subtle ache in your chest. In that split second, a mix of emotions surges within you – a tinge of hurt, a brush of jealousy, and a sting of betrayal.
Emotions you haven’t felt in years. Emotions you have sworn to yourself you’d never feel again.
Why does it bother you so much? Is it because it reminds you of how you touched him, how you ran your hand further and further up his thigh when he was taking you home for the first time, teasing him until he couldn’t take it anymore, pulled his car over and fucked you in the driver’s seat? Has she done that with him? Is she as addictive as you are?
This close to a full-blown panic attack, you jump up from your seat to the surprise of everyone at your table. You make brief eye contact with Kristen, who shoots you a sympathetic look.
Excusing yourself, you navigate through the bustling crowd towards the restrooms, located downstairs and accessible via a staircase. There are three separate spacious restrooms, and you choose the first one. Inside, you immediately head to the sink, running your left hand under cold water. The sensation helps to calm you down.
Closing your eyes, you take deep breaths, reassuring yourself that it’s not a big deal, and that it’s exactly what it was always meant to be—probably even for the best.
Then, as you try to find composure, a knock on the door interrupts your thoughts.
“Occupied!” you yell in response to the knock, and then you hear Joel’s deep voice saying, “It’s me.”
Of course it is.
You sigh exasperatedly and shuffle to the door to let him in. Joel enters, swiftly locking the door behind him.
“There’s two other restrooms, you know,” you murmur as you walk back to the sink and divert your attention to your reflection in the mirror, concentrating on fixing your hair.
“Yeah, well, I specifically want the one with you in it,” he says with a little smirk, his eyes searching for yours in the mirror. As your gaze meets his, he’s taken aback by the lack of the usual sparkle that used to light up your eyes at the sight of him. The absence of that adoration he’s grown accustomed to leaves a void, and a tinge of concern creeps into his expression.
“Hey,” he says tentatively, his voice softer than before. “Are you okay, darlin’?”
You look at him, and the weariness in your eyes doesn’t escape his attention. There’s a distant quality to your gaze, and it sends a pang of worry through him. The connection he once felt in your eyes seems to have dimmed, and he can’t help but feel a sense of loss.
It’s the same expression you had when he last saw you. He hates it.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you respond, putting on your fake smile again, but the lack of conviction in your voice doesn’t go unnoticed.
Joel’s concern deepens as he steps closer, the teasing smirk replaced by genuine worry. “I’ve been trying to reach you, but you haven’t responded to any of my texts or calls.” He rubs the back of his neck and clears his throat, his brow furrowed. “I was worried something happened, and—he points at your injured hand—my feeling was right.” He tilts his head and studies your face. “What happened?”
You turn around and lean against the sink, holding your right arm with your left hand, your eyes revealing a complex mixture of emotions. “I told you already,” you say nonchalantly. “Getting drunk and trying to do elaborate yoga poses is a dumb idea if you’re as clumsy as me.”
Joel raises his eyebrows, not believing a word you’re saying. “That’s not all, is it?”
“What do you mean?” you say, feigning ignorance.
“You don’t seem like yourself and I’m…worried about you.” Joel’s concern etches lines on his forehead as he shifts his weight from one foot to the other. His eyes, usually warm and comforting, narrow slightly as he studies your seemingly cheerful facade.
“But this is myself.” You point at your smiley face with your left hand and tilt your head. “You don’t like it?”
He shakes his head, a subtle sigh escaping him. “That’s not what I said. I just feel like something’s off.”
“Is it because I’m happy?”
“It’s because I don’t believe you’re happy. I know you too well, baby.”
You scoff, a defensive edge creeping into your voice. “Why is it so hard for you to believe that I’m happy? Do you want me to be miserable?”
“No, sweetheart. There’s nothing I want more than for you to be happy. But you’re lying to my face right now and I don’t appreciate that.”
You turn your head to avoid his gaze, your silence speaking volumes, your hand tightly gripping the flesh of your arm as if to contain the emotional turmoil threatening to spill over.
Stop it.
“Darlin’,” Joel says gently, closing the physical gap between you two, and reaching out to place his warm palms on your shoulders. “Look at me.”
A shiver runs down your spine and tiny goosebumps instantly form on your skin. You’ve missed his touch more than you care to admit — to yourself or to him. His touch is tender, a plea for connection, but you hesitate. Reluctantly, you meet his gaze, revealing the deep sadness you tried to conceal.
What happened to you? Whatever it was, it breaks his heart that he wasn’t there to protect you.
“Why didn’t you call me?” he asks softly.
“Not everything’s about you, Joel.”
“I know that. I just…wish you would let me know what’s going on.” His touch becomes a subconscious reassurance as he absentmindedly rubs your arms, as if trying to make sure you’re really there in front of him.
“Why do I owe you that? Why do I owe you every shitty detail of my life while I know virtually nothing about you?” you say a little sharper than intended.
Joel takes a deep breath. “You don’t owe me anything. I just thought–” he pauses, searching your eyes. “I miss seeing that spark in your eyes when you look at me,” he admits, his thumb gently brushing against your cheek. “I never fully realized how much it meant to me until now.”
You take a moment to process his words and his touch as frustration bubbles up inside you. Your heart aches.
“Why are you doing this?”
“Doing what? Caring about you?”
“Ruining the mood.” You shake your head, swallowing what you actually want to say, any traces of happiness erased from your face. “If you’re trying to make me feel bad, it’s starting to work.”
“I’m not trying to make you feel bad. I’m trying to understand what’s happened since the last time I saw you.” He tilts his head and studies your face, genuine concern in his eyes.
All you can see, though, is disappointment. He’s disappointed in you, you can sense it. And how could he not be? You’re a liability, a mess. Looks like he’s finally seeing you for who you are, and that’s why he replaced you.
“And now’s the best time to do that?” you scoff, averting your gaze and looking around.
“What am I supposed to do when you don’t respond to me for days on end and this is my only chance of talking to you?”
You look back into his eyes. “How about leaving it alone?”
“I can’t do that. Not when it comes to you,” he says, shaking his head and moving closer, his cologne filling your senses like a familiar embrace. His hands trace the contours of your neck, a gentle and deliberate touch that ignites a cascade of sensations. His thumbs brush your cheekbones with a tenderness that speaks of longing, his gaze dropping to your lips before finding your eyes again.
In that charged moment, the air between you thickens with unspoken desires before you both succumb to the magnetic pull drawing you together. Your heartbeat quickens, matching the rhythm of anticipation. Without breaking eye contact, he closes the remaining distance, his lips meeting yours in a soft yet passionate kiss. The familiar sensation of his lips on yours is both electric and comforting, and you allow yourself to get lost in it for a bit.
As he eases away, his fingers trail lightly down your neck and arms, leaving a tingling sensation in their wake. There’s a soft smile on his lips as he breaks the silence.
“I mean it when I say I care about you and want the best for you, darlin’,” he murmurs. “And you don’t have to tell me any details about what happened if you’re not ready yet, but I need to know what made you not want to call me. We’ve been there for each other in difficult situations before, so I just really don’t get it.”
You raise a skeptical eyebrow, frustration and anger intertwining with the lingering memory of his lips on yours.
“Why in the world would I ever call you while you’re on a date?” you say quietly, a steely edge in your voice, no trace of a smile to be found on your lips.
Oh. So it did bother you.
Joel’s expression shifts from concern to a momentary realization, the lines on his forehead deepening. “I would always drop everything to be there for you. No matter where I am or what I’m doing.”
You laugh wryly. “Joel. Seriously. Are you really trying to tell me you were oh so worried about me while you were fucking someone else? And that you’re worried now even though she’s currently upstairs, desperately waiting for you to take her home? Come on, don’t insult my intelligence.”
He stares at you in utter disbelief and takes a step back, as if physically recoiling from the weight of your words. “That’s not what–”
“Look, Joel,” you push yourself off the sink, straighten up, and walk past him towards the door. “It doesn’t matter. You can fuck or date whoever you like. Jan seems nice and like a good match, so I’m very happy for you.”
“Sweetheart, I’m not doing any of that. You misunders–”
You turn around sharply to look at him. “I misunderstood the woman who’s had her hands all over you the whole evening?”
“It’s not like that,” he insists, trying to get through to you. “She’s drunk as hell and probably doesn’t even realize what she’s doing. And I’m not interested anyway.”
“Sure. That’s why she’s here right now.”
“I had nothing to do with that. Tommy invited her without telling me,” he says, running his fingers through his hair as his stress is mounting. “Darlin’, please. This isn’t even about her; it’s about you and me. And maybe it’s time to stop pretending everything’s okay when it’s clearly not.”
You turn your head, deliberately avoiding the intensity of his gaze as the weight of his words settles in. His plea sends palpable waves of discomfort through your already wounded emotions, causing your chest to tighten further. Why is he doing this? Is this fun for him?
“So you’d rather keep pretending everything’s fine?” he presses, his tone a mix of concern and urgency, the edges of his patience beginning to fray.
Okay, now you’ve had it.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Joel. What do you want from me?” you hiss at him, frustration dripping from your words.
Joel is momentarily taken aback, but his own agitation prevents him from fully grasping your distress. A deep sigh escapes him as he props one hand on his hip, rubbing his eyes wearily with the other.
“Since when does it matter what I want?” he murmurs.
Ouch.
That hurt.
Your face falls, and you feel like he just slapped you across the face. The sting of his words cuts deep, causing tears to well up in your eyes.
Joel’s eyes widen in shock when he sees the look on your face. “Shit, no, I didn’t mean it like that,” he stammers, realizing the impact of his words a moment too late. “I’m sorry, baby, I–” his voice trembles with regret, desperate to undo the damage he’s done.
“Is that how you really feel? That I don’t care about what you want?” you ask, your voice shaky.
“No, I shouldn’t have said that, I’m so–”
“But that’s how you feel? Deep down?”
Why are you acting so surprised? Were you really naive enough to believe him when he said he was happy with you? God, you’re dumb.
“Oh, sweetheart…” he reaches out to wipe away the tears that are making their way down your cheeks, but you push his hand away.
“I came here for you, Joel,” you blurt out, your raised voice startling him. “And I–I spent the last three hours making conversation with everyone, including the woman you’re fucking, because I care about you and want you to be happy, even though my hand is killing me and I’m so drained I have to force my eyes to stay open.”
You express yourself with animated hand gestures as you talk through your tears, your voice breaking.
“I had a horrible weekend and needed some time to recover, but I was so fucking happy to see you tonight because I’ve missed you and I’ve–I’ve never hidden how much I like spending time with you. Why is that not enough? What more do you want from me?”
Your big, watery eyes pierce Joel’s, and the fact that he’s the reason for your tears pierces his heart.
“Darlin’, I’m so sorry. It wasn’t right what I said.”
He takes a step closer to you, the desperation in his eyes matching the pain in yours, intending to pull you into a comforting hug to calm you—and himself—down. However, you immediately take a step back, creating a physical distance between you two.
“Do you want me to cry ‘cause seeing you with another woman breaks my heart? Is that it?”
Joel stares at you incredulously, your accusing tone making him wince. “No, of course no–”
Your heart is racing, and you can feel the tightness in your chest growing with every second you’re looking into Joel’s eyes. Eyes that—until now—have always made you feel so calm, so safe, so…loved. Your hands tremble slightly, and a lump forms in your throat, making it difficult to speak.
“Do you want me to make a scene in front of everyone ‘cause it physically pains me to think you’re touching her the same way you touch me?”
Joel opens his mouth to say something, a fleeting impulse to express himself and try to console you, but he catches himself, realizing that uttering those words might inflict more damage than repair right now.
“Do you want me to beg you not to leave me ‘cause I can’t even imagine my life without you anymore? Is that what you want?”
“Sweetheart...” He takes a step towards you, his eyes pleading, but you cut him off.
“No, I’m fucking sick of this,” your words spill out between sobs as tears stream down your face. “It’s always the same. I’m good enough only as long as I act the way you want it, and the minute you get bored or realize I’m not as perfect as you imagined, you replace me with someone better. Everyone always fucking leaves and I’m so sick of it.”
“Darlin’, I swear that’s not what’s happening,” Joel implores, his whole body so tense and hot he’s sweating through his shirt. “I’m not leaving and I really didn’t mean to hurt you.”
You sigh deeply, grab a paper towel from the dispenser on the wall, blow your nose, and dry your tears.
“I knew this was gonna happen and I still let myself believe I could be enough for once,” you murmur more to yourself than him, your head pounding painfully.
Serves you right for having feelings.
Joel says your name gently, trying his best not to spook you. His words hang in the air like a lifeline, a desperate attempt to mend what is broken.
“You are enough. You’ve always been enough. I’m so sorry for making you feel otherwise.”
Your head is spinning, emotions tumultuous and unyielding. In dire need of fresh air and distance from Joel, you stagger towards the door. His voice follows you, pleading.
“Sweetheart, I promise I’m not going to leave you. And I’m so incredibly sorry for upsetting you, I just–” he exhales deeply and clears his throat. “I wanted you to be honest with me about your feelings, but this wasn’t the way to go about it. I’m sorry.”
The door swings open, and you turn around, the forced smile from before back on your lips.
“Well, congratulations, Joel,” you say, your tone laced with a mix of bitterness and anguish. “You got what you wanted. I hope you’re fucking happy.”
The door slams shut behind you, leaving Joel stunned, alone with the haunting echoes of shattered trust and unspoken pain, the distant thump of music mirroring the beating of his remorseful heart.
As you make your way back upstairs, the residual heat of the argument lingers on your skin. Taking a deep breath, you enter the lively space once more. Tommy, who’s standing at the bar, notices you, concern etched across his face.
“Hey, is everything okay, honey?” he asks, his voice soft with genuine worry.
You manage a tight smile. “Yeah, I’m okay. My hand’s just hurting really bad now and the meds make me dizzy, so I’ll head home.”
He furrows his brow. “Joel’s my designated driver, but I can take a cab, so he can drive you home.” He looks around, searching the bar for his brother. “Where is he anyway?”
“There’s a huge line in front of the restrooms, he’s probably still waiting. And it’s okay, Tommy, really.”
You wrap your arms around his neck, seeking solace, and bury your face in the crook of his neck. He responds by pulling you into a warm and reassuring embrace, a gesture that speaks volumes without the need for words. Luckily, he’s drunk enough not to smell his brother on you.
“I missed you,” you murmur, your eyes closed.
Tommy strokes the back of your head and chuckles. “I missed you, too, sweetheart.”
He pulls away far enough to look into your eyes, giving you the brightest smile. “Tell you what. You come over for dinner on Friday — no ifs, ands, or buts. Maria’s been wanting to see you, and we just finished our patio, so it’s perfect.”
You pinch his cheek and shake your head at him. “It’s not fair that you’re this charming, you know? How could I ever say no?”
“Don’t say no, then,” he says playfully,  a hint of worry still in his eyes.
You sigh exaggeratedly. “Okay, okay, I won’t.”
“Attagirl. And you’re sure you don’t want Joel to drive you?”
“Yes, I’m sure. I always find my way home somehow.” You plant a kiss on Tommy’s cheek, and he finally agrees to release you from his embrace after securing a pinky promise that you ‘a hundred percent won’t flake out’.
You walk over to Kristen and Jan, who are still sitting at your table, engrossed in an animated conversation. Observing them for a moment, you find yourself captivated by Jan’s effortless charisma. She’s a real sunshine — and unlike you, she doesn’t have to fake it. Had you met her under different circumstances, you might have liked her.
Kristen’s eyes meet yours, and her brow furrows slightly, registering the expression on your face for a fleeting moment. Swiftly, you put on a polite smile and step closer, masking the momentary vulnerability with practiced ease.
“Ladies,” you say, a touch of self-deprecating humor in your tone, “I know I’m lame, but I’m actually going home already. Just wanted to say goodbye.”
Jan answers first, surprising you with a warm smile. “Oh, that’s not lame at all! You’re just smarter than us.”
You hold up your injured hand and deadpan, “Yeah, I’m a real genius, aren’t I?”
Jan and Kristen giggle, and you join in, sharing a brief moment of camaraderie. You’re so good at this. Almost believable.
As you look for your bag on the bench, contemplating the logistics of your departure, Kristen catches your eye and winks at you.
“I’ll come with you,” she says, giving you a reassuring look. “Our boss is gonna have a fit if I fall asleep at my desk again, so…I guess this is what being a responsible adult is,” she sighs. She hands you your bag, downs the rest of her drink, and the two of you say goodbye to Jan, who’s now getting up to search for the Miller brothers.
Kristen takes you by the hand, gently leading you outside. The cool breeze brushes against your face as the sun starts its descent, offering a much-needed breath of fresh air. Settling down down on the curb together, you find a comfortable spot, trying your best not to inadvertently flash someone as you adjust your dress.
“I’ll call us an Uber,” Kristen says, her tone comforting. You appreciate the warmth of her presence as you wait for the ride, the fading sunlight casting a soft glow on both of you.
“Done.” She wraps her arm around you, providing a supportive shoulder for you to lean on. The two of you sit in silence, the ambient noise of traffic and distant chatter from the bar filling the air, serving as a backdrop to the racing thoughts in your mind. Eventually, Kristen succumbs to her curiosity.
“So…” she starts, her voice carefully navigating the sensitive terrain. “That’s him?”
You chuckle faintly. “Yup. That’s him.”
“Hmm, I get it now. He’s hot as fuck,” she says, happy that she can make you laugh. “Do you think he’d be up for a threesome?”
“Oh, I’m sure he’d be up for it. I’m just not so sure about his heart being able to take it. Or his back. Or his knees.”
Kristen giggles and then looks at you for a moment, fascinated by this evening’s revelations. “It’s so interesting, I had no idea you were into older guys.”
“I, uh, didn’t know either before I met him.”
“I see,” she nods, a thoughtful expression on her face. Another minute of shared silence passes before she decides to just come out and ask you the one burning question on her mind.
“Do you love him?”
You don’t need a second to think about your answer.

You silently thanked the universe that you wouldn’t have to see Spencer in class again until the next Tuesday. Though he’d slipped you into his pajamas, laid you in his bed, and woken you up with a kiss and a plate of pancakes on Friday morning before your final midterm, you knew you needed a few days to process this new development in your life. Not only had you slept with someone, but you’d slept with your professor. While you didn’t regret it, you knew you needed to sleep on it before you dove into anything too serious with him.
All of it was a lot to consider, and Spencer knew that. He stood before you at his apartment door after you’d finished breakfast and slipped into some extra clothes you’d happened to have in the back of your car. He wore a simple t-shirt and sweatpants, not having to lecture on Fridays. “I’ll see you Tuesday” he reminded you as he got ready to send you out the door to campus that morning. “I’ll call you sometime next week to set up another date if you’re still open to the idea.”
You’d nodded, of course, wanting to see him again. “I would like to go out with you. This has been wonderful. I just-” You stumbled over your words for a second, causing him to raise his eyebrow at your evident hesitation.
He reached out, placing both his hands on your shoulders as if to ground you for a moment. “Take a breath, tell me.” His brown eyes scanned your face, no doubt profiling you.
You sighed, looking up to meet his eyes. “It all makes me a little nervous, you know. You said yourself, that our dynamic isn’t the most conventional. Just… give me a little time to get used to the idea.”
Spencer had offered you a small smile, leaning forward to place a soft kiss on your forehead before pulling you into a hug. “I completely understand,” he murmured, the vibrations of his voice echoing through his chest as you rested your head on his collar. “Don’t worry about it today. Go ace your midterm. We’ll talk more later.”
You smiled up at him, thankful for his kindness as he reached around you to open the apartment door. He followed you down the stairs and out of the building without another word, watching you carefully as you climbed into your car. You waved as you started your engine, backing out of the parking spot in front of his building. Spencer smiled back before turning his back to the road and heading back inside his apartment complex, his mop of brown curls disappearing behind the glass doors.
— — —
The midterm had gone well. You couldn’t fault yourself for any mistakes, you surmised. You weren’t exactly focused on studying the night before, anyway. As you drove back to your apartment after the exam, you tried to take Spencer off your mind by focusing on what you were going to accomplish over the weekend.
You accomplished very little. Aside from some basic cleaning and keeping up with your laundry, you spent the weekend struggling to keep Spencer off your mind. You thought about shooting a text message to his number, which he had kindly typed into your contacts before you left his apartment the other day. However, you held yourself back. You’d promised yourself that you’d take the weekend to let this all sink in and you figured it was better not to rush anything.
However, by the time Tuesday came around, you were more than ready to get a look at your professor-turned-lover. You found yourself dressing up a bit more than usual, adding some additional curl to your hair and smacking on a thin layer of tinted lip gloss, slipping into a flowing skirt and a knitted sweater to keep you warm despite the cool spring breeze. You walked into the lecture hall, slipping into your usual seat, and getting out your notebook.
Moments later, the side door to the lecture hall swung open and Spencer walked in. He was dressed in a plain black dress shirt with dark pants and an equally black suit jacket. As he made his way to the desk, his eyes flickered up at the audience. You met his eye and he offered you a small smile as he set his books on the desk.
“Hello, everyone. I hope you had a good weekend.” He seemed quite chipper. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he talked. “I know I did,” Spencer added before turning his back to the audience and writing the day’s topic on the board.
You could hardly hear a word he said as you focused on his hands. The prominent veins on the back of his hand were accentuated as his slender fingers slid the chalk gently over the board. Even when he was done writing on the board and turned back to the class, your eyes stayed transfixed on his fingers, remembering what they’d done to you only days before.
“Y/N?” the use of your name snapped you out of your chance. Spencer furrowed his brow, walking across the lecture stage to stand straight in front of you. “Did you hear what I asked you?”
“Uh-” you fumbled for a second, panicking as you looked to the board to see if you could deduce his question based on his writing.
Spencer smirked. You’d been caught. He knew you were distracted. “I would encourage you to pay attention to this lesson, as this information will undoubtedly be on the final exam.”
You lowered your eyes, cheeks burning as you heard a classmate giggle behind you. “Yes, sir,” you mumbled. Spencer cleared his throat before continuing with the lesson. You did your best to copy the notes he wrote on the board, but your mind kept drifting back to your previous exchange with Spencer. You couldn’t help but wonder why he called you out like that in front of everyone, especially if you were the one who made his weekend so great.
When class ended, you quickly packed up your materials and rushed out of the lecture hall. You avoided the gaze of the rest of your classmates, trying to escape without another mention of the period. As you stepped out into the hallway and walked out of the building, you felt your phone buzzing in your pocket. Checking your screen, you saw his name on your screen. Oh god, you thought, Spencer Reid is calling.
“Hello?” you answered, not slowing your pace as you walked to the parking lot.
“Where’d you go? I was hoping I’d get the pleasure of seeing you after class.” You could almost hear the frown on his face.
You sighed as you reached your car, fumbling with your keys as you tried to unlock your car. “Why? So you could reprimand me for not paying attention. Trust me, calling me out in front of everyone was enough. I get it.”
“Do you?” Spencer asked. Just as he spoke, you looked up to see a figure leaning against your car. You gasped, dropping your keys in the process. Spencer stood with his back against your car. He smirked playfully, bringing his phone down from his ear and tucking it in his pocket.
“How the hell did you beat me here?” you said, bending down to pick up your keys as you attempted to regain your breath.
“I’ve got longer legs. You look beautiful today, by the way,” he said. You glared up at him as he took your backpack from you, slinging it over his shoulder. “Come with me.”
He turned around and started walking in the direction of the faculty parking lot. “Where are we going?” you asked.
Spencer smiled. “I promised you a second date, didn’t I?”
You furrowed your brow, struggling to keep up with his quick pace. “No, you said you’d call me to set up another date.”
He hummed in faux thought. “Maybe, but this is more exciting anyway. Don’t you think?” As the two of you reached his car, he tossed your backpack in the back seat before opening the passenger door for you. You hung back, a bit wary of what he had planned.
Spencer could sense your unease. He approached you gently. “We don’t have to go if you don’t want to. I’ll take you back to your car and later we can plan something less spontaneous.” He paused before lowering his voice, “Really, I just wanted to see you. I’ll admit, I missed you this weekend. It took everything in me not to call you.”
You met his eyes for the first time since you’d spotted him by your car. “Well, considering I was in the same boat,” you slid into the passenger seat, looking up at him, “take me away, Doc.”
Spencer smiled, quickly shutting the passenger’s side door and jogging over to the driver’s side. Sliding in next to you, he leaned over to give you a soft kiss on the cheek. “And we’re off!” he said with a large grin on his face, putting his vehicle in reverse and pulling out of the university parking lot.
The two of you rode in comfortable silence. Spencer drove you further away from the city, out into the country. You tried not to think too hard about where you were headed. After about ten minutes on the road, Spencer spoke first. “So, what did you do this weekend?”
You audibly laughed, rolling your eyes. “Let me think,” you held up your fingers and counted off as you listed your very short list of achievements, “I did a load of laundry, I watched two terrible movies, and I did my best to take my mind off of the one and only Dr. Spencer Reid.”
He raised an eyebrow, taking his eyes off the road to make a quick glance at you. “Why would you want to take your mind off me? What else is there to think about?” he asked playfully, putting a smile on your face.
You decided to change the subject. “What about you? What did you do this weekend?”
Spencer offered you another playful glance. “Besides you?” he asked, a smirk forming on his face as you whacked him on the shoulder. “Okay, okay,” he said, raising one hand in defeat. “I’ll have you know that on Friday I went to see the lovely philharmonic downtown and on Saturday I spent the evening with some coworkers from the Bureau.”
“Coworkers from the Bureau,” you echoed, narrowing your eyes. “Does one of these coworkers happen to be the one who gave you that pasta recipe from the other night?”
Spencer nodded, “One and the same. I told him that my date rather enjoyed his recipe. He nearly choked on his drink when he heard I had a date.”
“Why’s that?” you asked, raising your eyebrows.
“Well,” Spencer stumbled with his words for a second as he tried to form an appropriate response. “I don’t exactly do this,” he waved his hand to gesture around the car, “a lot. In fact, I’m known for quite the opposite, I suppose.”
You hummed in curiosity. “Does that mean I’m one of the few women who have been graced with the pleasure of experiencing the romantic side of you, Doc?”
Spencer laughed, putting a hand on your thigh that made the butterflies in your stomach flutter faster than they had before. “You could say that,” he said. As fast as he’d put his hand on your thigh, he removed it, using both hands to turn the steering wheel into a parking lot off the side of the road, “and here we are.”
You looked away from his face for the first time in minutes to see where he’d taken the two of you. You were parked on the side of a hill, a drop-off on the other side of the parking lot enough to make your stomach churn. Despite the height, you were taken aback by the view overlooking the city and the way the colors of the sunset were bleeding across the evening sky. However, your eyes were quickly drawn to a building across from the parking lot. As Spencer stopped the vehicle, you swore you could hear music coming from the inside of the building. “What is this place?” you asked, nearly breathless.
Instead of responding immediately, Spencer climbed out of the car and walked over to the passenger side. He opened the door for you, offering his hand as he helped you step out of the vehicle. “This,” he started, “is a very nice restaurant suited for a girl such as yourself.”
You slipped your hand into his as the two of you approached the building. He reciprocated, offering your hand a small squeeze as the two of you entered the restaurant. Though the lighting was dim, candles on each table gave the room a nice ambiance. A few couples were sitting throughout the restaurant. Your eyes were quickly pulled away from them when Spencer was approached by the hostess. “Did you have a reservation for tonight, sir?” she asked with a smile.
“Yes,” he answered, “it should be under Reid.” The hostess nodded, inviting you and Spencer to follow her to a table in the corner of the room next to a large window with another breathtaking view of the city.
As you slipped into the seat across from Spencer, you couldn’t help but joke with him, “I thought you said this wasn’t planned.”
Spencer shrugged. “I figured if you said no, I’d just come here and get dinner myself. This is a hard view to beat,” he gestured to the window. You hummed in agreement, hardly noticing when a server approached your table.
“Good evening,” the server started, “Could I get you both something to drink?”
Spencer ordered you both a glass of wine as the server provided you with food menus. “I’ll be back with those drinks and to get your orders,” the server said before walking away. You picked up the menu from the edge of the table, your jaw immediately dropping.
“Dr. R- I mean, Spencer! The prices at this place are outrageous!” you said in a hushed whisper. Spencer waved his hand in dismissal, looking down at his own menu. Your eyes scanned the page in a panic, looking for some entree that wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.
He could tell you were still fretting over the price as he reached across the table and lowered your menu so he could look you in the eye. “Y/N, I’m a grown man with no dependents besides my mother. I’ve worked for the FBI for over a decade and I’ve been teaching at various universities on and off for years. Money is never an issue. Do you hear me?” You could tell he was extremely serious by the tone of his voice, so you only nodded silently and scanned the menu once more.
Your server reappeared with your glasses of wine and prepared to take your order. You asked Spencer to go first, during which time he ordered something to the effect of a cajun pasta. Your mouth watered at the thought. “I’ll have the same,” you told the waiter with a smile. The server took your menu and nodded before heading back to the kitchen area.
Spencer sipped his wine quietly and you felt a sudden boost of confidence come over you. “So,” you started, “I want to know more about the famous and mysterious Spencer Reid.”
He tilted his head in curiosity, setting his wine glass down on the table and resting his chin on his hand. “What do you want to know?”
“Oh, you know,” you said, swirling the wine around in your glass, “where you grew up, about your family, maybe some tidbits about your past.”
Spencer considered this request for a moment, nodding slowly. “Okay,” he started, clearing his throat. “I grew up in Vegas. My parents split up when I was pretty young. I never had any siblings.”
You nodded, soaking in the information as you took a sip of your wine. “So, why the FBI? Why the BAU?”
“My mother always told me I could do whatever I wanted. I had multiple degrees by age twenty. The FBI found me. I was lucky enough to be picked up by the BAU.” He narrowed his eyes in thought, turning his head to stare out the window, “Especially after my Mom got sick, I never had a real family experience. The BAU became my family.”
You smiled at the sentiment, reaching across the table and covering his hand with your own. He looked away from the window, eyes a bit glazed as you rubbed a thumb over the back of his hand. “They’re lucky to have you,” I said with a nod.
Spencer gave a thoughtful smile, but as he was about to respond the waiter arrived at the table with your plates. You surveyed the dishes in front of you and when you looked back up, Spencer was still looking at you. “So, what do you think of the pasta?” he asked.
You picked up your fork, twirling it on the plate and raising the fork to your mouth. “It’s wonderful,” you said with an enthusiastic look, “however, it’s not as good as yours.”
Spencer raised an eyebrow, “You mean that?”
You nodded. “This might be good, but it’s not authentic Italian cuisine from the Reid kitchen, inspired by some mystery FBI agent!” you joked. Spencer laughed, a genuine laugh that caused him to throw his head back.
His curls fell gently in his eyes when he straightened his head up. Spencer brushed them out of the way, offering you a look at his lovely brown eyes. He took a bite of his pasta and gave a thumbs up in approval, washing it down with a sip of his wine. You stared at him closely, examining every feature you could in the warm lighting. It was the first time that you noticed a small scar on the side of his neck.
“What’s that?” you asked, pointing to the spot on your own neck as you stared at the scar. Spencer reached his hand up, brushing some of his hair out of the way as he felt the place you were referring to. “Oh, I-” he stuttered, “I got shot once.”
You raised an eyebrow, nearly spitting out your wine. Spencer shrugged. “Crazy things happen when you work for the Bureau. I’m sure you can imagine.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “I can imagine,” you repeated, swirling your pasta on your fork. “However, I think it would be more fun if you’d just show me.”
Spencer raised an eyebrow. “What are you asking?” he said as he took a sip of his wine.
You leaned across the table, a surge of confidence driving your movements. “I’m asking to see all your scars, Dr. Reid,” you said lowly. “I’d love to know all your secrets.” He furrowed his brow as if confused before the true meaning of your words soaked in.
“Well,” he said, setting his glass back on the table and removing the napkin from his lap. “I’d be happy to show you everything,” Spencer whispered. “Just, not here.”
You giggled, tilting your head to the side in curiosity. “Does that mean you know a place?” you asked.
He smiled, offering a shy nod. “I’d say so.” With that, Spencer hailed the waiter and quickly paid the bill for both of you before rising from the table. You allowed him to lead you out of the restaurant and back to his car. He opened the passenger door for you before walking around and sliding into the driver’s seat, firing up the engine.
You toyed with the hem of your dress in anticipation. Though you’d already slept with Spencer once, you couldn’t help but feel a touch nervous. His implication from your previous night together echoed in your head: “There’s lots for you to learn, if you’re interested.”
After you arrived back to his apartment building, Spencer led you on to the elevator. The short ride up to his floor was completed in absolute silence. You glanced at Spencer, who was gently tapping his foot against the elevator’s floor, no doubt impatient to get back to his place.
Entering Spencer’s apartment, you were struck by how clean it was. “Are you sure you weren’t expecting a guest this evening?” you asked, narrowing your eyes at him.
He slipped out of his suit jacket with a shrug. “Maybe I just wanted to be prepared in case a beautiful woman like yourself was kind enough to share the evening with me,” he said. You blushed at his words, turning your back to him in hopes to conceal the deep shade of crimson spreading across your cheeks.
Spencer finished hanging his jacket on a hook by the door and you could hear his footsteps approaching from behind you. You turned to face him as he wraps his arms around your waist. You rested your hands on his shoulders, holding him in place. “What do you think you’re doing?” you asked playfully.
“I’ve been thinking about this for days,” he mumbled, leaning in for a kiss. His lips were soft at first, nearly exploratory, like he was unsure what to do next. However, he quickly found his rhythm, sliding a hand up your back to tangle in your hair as you stumbled backward into the nearest wall.
He held you there, using your position against the wall to hold himself close to you, enjoying the small gasps and deep sighs that escaped from your lips as he removed his mouth from yours and began his pursuit down your body. His hands reached under the hem of your sweater, as he pulled it over your head and dropped in on the floor next to you before he continued his movements. Spencer’s lips traced a line down your neck before he dropped to his knees in front of you, simultaneously loosening the tie around his neck and tossing it on to the couch behind him.
“What are you doing?” you asked, genuinely confused as you raised an eyebrow at him.
Spencer ran his hands up your legs, pushing your skirt up over the apex of your thighs as you leaned back against the wall. “I’m getting my dessert,” he mumbled.
Your mouth dropped open, a combination of his idea and his words catching you by surprise. “Here?! Against the living room wall?” you asked incrediously.
Your shock seemed to pull Spencer back to reality as he looked up at you and laughed. He pulled his hands from your legs and positioning them at the hem of your skirt, “Sweetheart, we’re going to do everything on every inch of this apartment before the semester’s over.” With that, he pulled your skirt and underwear down in one movement, leaving your lower half completely bare before him.
He tapped your thigh with his index finger. “Up,” he said. You did as you were told, picking your foot up off the ground. Spencer put his hand on the back of your thigh, lifting it up and placing your leg over his shoulder. Before you could register what was happening, he leaned forwards, burying his face in between your legs.
You immediately moaned as he focused his attention on your clit, causing you to arch your back off the wall. He reached one hand up to hold your hips in place, while he used the other to trace your slit before sliding it into you. Spencer leaned back at that moment, watching your face as you fell apart in front of him.
“How does it feel?” he asked, always intent on making sure you were enjoying yourself.
“A-amazing,” you groaned. Satisfied with your answer, he slid another finger into you before continuing to lap at your core.
You could feel the tightness in your lower stomach increasing with each movement he made, and you reached down to grip a handful of his brown curls. “I’m close,” you whined. Spencer didn’t respond, keeping up his movements and increasing the pressure he placed on your clit. The increased pressure along with the motion of his fingers inside you drove you over the edge, and you let out a loud moan as you came. Spencer, ever the gentleman, stayed in his place until you were finished. You gave his curls a final tug, letting him know you were completely finished before he relented, pulling away from you.
Your legs shook as you tried to maintain your balance. Spencer wrapped an arm around your waist and guided you to the couch, allowing you to lay down to catch your breath. He sat down on the coffee table next to you, smoothing your hair away from your face.
“How was your dessert?” you asked.
Spencer laughed, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “Great, I had my favorite.” You leaned your head back, letting out a satisfied sigh before your purpose in all this popped back into your head. You quickly sat up from the couch, putting yourself at eye level with Spencer who remained perched on the coffee table.
“I believe you promised to show me all your secrets, Doctor,” you said with a sly smile. Spencer sighed, rising from the coffee table and undoing the buttons of his dress shirt.
He slipped the shirt off his shoulders, discarding it on a nearby chair along with his dress pants before standing before you in only his boxers. You took note of the many scars dotting his figure, letting out a sigh. Spencer caught you staring, raising an eyebrow at you. “What are you looking at?” he asked.
You looked him in the eye. “You’ve had a rough life, Spencer Reid.”
He looked down at you thoughtfully, his dark eyes glimmering mischeviously in the dim light of his living room. “Maybe so, but I think I’m doing okay right now.” He leaned in to kiss you, this one much more passionate than the last. You let his tongue slip between your lips, exploring your mouth as you moaned into the kiss, the excitement of what was to come making your lower stomach tighten.
“I’m about to be doing even better,” he whispered as he took your hand and led you down the hallway to his bedroom. When the door swung open, you were greeted by the familiar dark wood of his bed frame and the low light that shone throughout the green walls.
The two of you stumbled back on to the bed, similar to the first night you’d been together. Thankfully already free of your clothes, Spencer climbed on top of you, reaching a gentle hand behind your back to unclasp your bra as you cast it aside on to the floor. He bent down, capturing one of your nipples in his mouth as you groaned out. You ran a hand through his hair as he seemed to enjoy himself, sucking hickeys into your chest as he moved to the other side.
After a moment, he stopped, crawling up so you were face to face. “I saw you staring in class today,” he whispered, leaning down to suck a dark mark into your neck.
“You expect me not to?” you asked, struggling to form words as his stubble tickled your jaw and his hot breath splayed over your neck. He looked up at you through his lashes, your heart burst as you soaked in his dark brown eyes. “You look at me like that, and you don’t want me to be distracted?”
Spencer smiled at you. “I know how easy it is to lose focus,” he murmured. “I have to teach with you in the room every day. You think it’s simple for me?” He pulled back from you, rising from the bed and pulling his boxers off, leaving him fully bare in front of you.
Spencer reached for his dresser drawer, where you knew from your previous rendezvous that he kept his stash of condoms. In another surge of confidence, you sat up from your position, holding out an arm to stop him from opening the drawer. He looked at you with confusion, before he understood what you were implying. “A-are you sure?” he asked, a bit wary of the idea himself.
“I’m on the pill. We’re both clean,” you listed. Spencer considered this for a moment before nodding, getting back to his previous thoughts.
He climbed back on to the bed, pressing a passionate kiss to you lips as he wrapped your legs around his hips. “You think it’s fun for me to stand in front of the class and drone on and on about things I’ve had memorized for fifteen years?” Spencer pulled back, expecting a reply. You simply shook your head at him, eyes wide and mouth hanging open, mesmerized by his words.
“No,” he said firmly, “you’re right. It’s not fun.” With that, he reaching between the two of you, lining himself up with your core before quickly pushing himself all the way in. The groan that left your lips was nearly animalistic, and Spencer swallowed the sound with another kiss.
His pace was slow at first, his thrusts calculated and evenly timed, allowing you to get used to the feeling oncemore. After a minute, you couldn’t take it anymore. You wanted him to ruin you. “More,” you gasped out, “I need more.”
Spencer shook his head, pulling back from you and throwing your legs over his shoulders, nearly folding you in half as he continued to pound into you at a faster pace. You could feel yourself getting close, and your orgasm was fast approaching when Spencer slowed his pace again. You almost cried out in frustration when he began speaking again.
“Every day I walked in that lecture hall, and every day I’d have to see you there,” he said, punctuating certain words with particularly sharp thrusts of his hips. Your nails dug into his back as he continued to speak, his forehead pressed firmly against yours. “Do you know what I thought about each time I saw you?” he asked.
You shook your head, hoping that the right answers would encourage him to reward you with an orgasm. He tucked his head into your neck as he continued driving into you. “I watched you walk in, set down your things,” Spencer murmured. “Then I had to watch you adjust that little skirt you wear, and all I could think of…” his pace picked up again, your moans nearly drowning out his final statement, “was how I’d rather bend you over the nearest desk instead.”
You nodded in quick agreement with everything he said. He reached between the two of you, rewarding your enthusiastic response by drawing tight circles on your clit as he examined your face. Sweat had developed on his brow, and a few stray curls stuck to his forehead. Spencer looked like a man starved, chasing some high he wasn’t quite ready to reach. “I bet you’d like that, huh? You want me to let everyone go early so I can have a private lesson with my star student?”
You continued to nod, too fucked out and eager to reach your high to even consider the potential implications of what you were agreeing to. Spencer smiled down at you, an evil smirk on his face as he continued his movements. Your legs were shaking from the force of his thrusts and your impending orgasm. You were so close, you just needed something more to push you over the edge.
In a move you never would have expected, Spencer reached his free hand up to your throat. You stretched your neck out in an effort to show you consent. A wicked grin passed over his face as he tightened his hand, constricting your air as he offered you a final harsh thrust and emptied himself inside of you. His final words did you in: “You’re such a good fucking girl.”
With Spencer’s final utterance, the tension that had been building in you finally snapped. You came fast and hard, crying out his name into the otherwise relative quiet of his bedroom as his hips stilled inside of you. You shut your eyes, taking deep breaths in an attempt to gain your composure as Spencer laid on top of you, pressing soft kisses to your cheek.
After a moment, Spencer pulled out of you, a shudder leaving your body as you tried to adjust to the emptiness. He sat up on the side of the bed, looking back at your bare figure laying on display for him. The sheen of sweat that coated both of you was evident in the low light of the room as you let out a nervous laugh. “That was-” you stuttered, not able to finish your thought.
Spencer looked at you, brows furrowed. “Great? Terrible?” he asked, his dominate facade crumbling as you caught of tinge of concern in his voice.
“Amazing,” you whispered, offering him a small yet sincere smile. The two of you sat in silence for a minute before he rose from the bed, offering you a hand. “Where are we going?” you ask.
“No bath this evening, since it’s quite late,” he said, glancing at the clock, “but I think we both could use a quick shower before we go to bed.” You took his hand with a shy smile as he led you back to his bathroom, warming up the shower as you sat on the edge of the sink.
You thought about the words he’d uttered minutes before, wondering if he had meant what he said about the lecture hall. “Did you mean what you said?” you asked.
“About what?” he said, turning back from the shower to face you.
“About watching me in the lecture hall… and about the… other stuff you want to do,” you said shyly, a deep blush settling into you cheeks.
Spencer approached you, leaning on the bathroom counter with his arms on either side of your legs, caging you in. He rested his forehead against yours, his eyes on yours offering an unwavering gaze. “Every word,” he said. “Which means,” Spencer pulled away from you, helping you step down from the counter and holding the shower curtain open for you, “that you, my star student, should stay after class when I dismiss early next week.”
As your jaw dropped, Spencer landed a playful smack on your ass before climbing in the shower behind you, closing the curtain. This man will be the death of me, you thought.

‘Heat of the moment-’
Sam sat up abruptly, awoken by the sudden racket that filled the room. After sitting up groggily and allowing his eyes to adjust to the light he glanced at the clock, hardly noting the time before he turned to his brother who was surprisingly already up and raring to go, having made his bed which he was now perching on as he laced together his boots. He felt the blankets shift around him as you tried to bury yourself into the mattress, bringing the covers over your head to try and block out some of the noise and fall back to sleep.
“Rise and shine, Sammy.”
“Dude.” Sam blinked, swiping his hair from his eyes. “Asia?”
“Come on. You love this song and you know it.”
Sam rolled his eyes and nodded. “Yeah, and if i hear it again, I’m going to kill myself.”
“Be quiet.” You murmured from behind the sheets, squeezing your eyes shut and rolling over. You knew it wasn’t going to happen but you were trying to cling onto the idea of getting more than 4 hours of sleep for once.
Dean took a break from trying his shoes to reach over and turn the dial on the radio. The song blasted louder from the speakers. He raised his voice with a grin “What? I’m sorry, I can’t hear you.”
Sam let out a light chuckle, still bleary with sleep as you sighed and sat up. Dean was still grinning at you before he began to mouth along to the words of the song. You shook your head at him before hauling yourself up and making your way to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
~
Dean had decided that he was going to be annoying today. You weren’t sure if it was because he didn’t want to go on the hunt and he was trying to delay it or something or if it was simply because he was being Dean. You decided on the latter because his keenness to be up and ready this morning was unusual. It started with the gurgling when he was brushing his teeth. Then, just as the three of you were about to leave, despite being up before either of you he had forgotten his pistol leaving you and your other brother standing impatiently by the door while he rooted around the motel room for it. He was irritating in the car too and you were itching to jump out of the Impala, praying for the day to end.
The diner was hardly busy when Dean pulled into the driveway. There were only a few cars belonging to passers by occupying the spaces. After securing your pistol in the pocket of your jacket the three of you headed inside. You decided to stick close to Sam; you had an odd feeling about this hunt and weren’t entirely sure what it was but something just wasn’t sitting right with you. Your brothers entered one of the booths and you slid down beside Dean who let out a content sigh as he scanned the menu.
“Hey, tuesday. Pig in a poke.” he read, gesturing to the sign.
“Do you even know what that is?” Sam raised an eyebrow.
The eldest brother opened his mouth to answer only to fall short of his words. Sam gave him a smug look and then pair fell into some sort of childish bickering that you weren’t really paying attention to. You were too busy scanning every inch of the room still unable to shake that uneasy feeling from your mind. Something just wasn’t right. Everything seems so…perfect. It made your skin crawl and you bit your lip.
“Hey.” Sam nudged you under the table with his knee, he had noted the way that you had gone silent and that you were fiddling with your hands restlessly. He knew almost straight away that something was up. You twisted to face him. “You okay?”
“Yeah. yeah.” You muttered. “Sorry.”
You nearly let out a sigh of relief when the waitress came over and distracted your brother's attention away from you. You hated the way that they stared when they were concerned about you. The three of you rattled off your orders before Dean leaned back in the chair, stretching his arm back behind you to lounge about as you all discussed the plan, only interrupted once by the waitress bringing your food and accidentally spilling a bottle of hot sauce which tumbled to the floor and smashed into tiny pieces.
The rest of the day passed by quickly after that.
~
You did not like the look of the so-called ‘mystery spot’. It was all overly commercialised, filled to the brim with strange and amusing objects that stuck out at odd angles or were glued to the ceiling. The darkness of the room mixed with the obscurity of the place made it come across as quite disorientating. You supposed that was the point. Your strange feeling from this morning was still lingering. You and Dean moved around with flashlights as Sam waved around the EMF. But it was silent.
“Find anything?” You asked.
Sam shook his head.
“Do you have any idea what you’re looking for?” Dean said rather loudly. He was still set on the idea that this hunt was a complete waste of time and had decided to make it everyone else's problem.
“Uh… yeah.” Sam shrugged until you gave him a look and he dropped his shoulders. “No.”
It wasn’t long after you set off to explore again that Dean’s gun was being cocked. Somehow someone had managed to catch you off guard, causing the three of you to whip around alarmed when his shaky voice boomed through the room.
“What the hell are you doing here?!” He demanded. The man was small and scrawny and would normally be no match against Winchesters, but he was wielding a gun that he didn’t seem to know how to use and his unstable finger was hovering dangerously close to the trigger.
“Woah. We can explain.” Dean started, raising his gun in surrender and gesturing for the two of you to follow suit.
The man moved his weapon uncertainly. “You robbing me?”
“No.” You told him. “Nobody’s robbing you, calm down.”
Dean began to lower his gun, but this only wound the man up more.
“Don’t move!” He demanded. “Don’t!”
“I’m just putting the gun down.” Dean tried to reassure him, but the man was having none of it.
He raised his gun, but before he fired he spotted you moving out of the corner of his eye.
Sam, as worrying of a brother as ever, gestured with a tilt of his head for you to move toward him. He knew that you were perfectly capable of protecting yourself, but it made him feel ten times better to know that you were hidden behind his lumbering frame, especially given the recent circumstances that had resulted in so much loss between the three of you. Your movement however, combined with Dean’s haste to put down his gun startled the man and with a fast flick of his arm he had pulled the trigger.
No one had any time to think before your pained scream filled the room. It was quick and short as the bullet lodged itself within your chest and you collapsed to the ground, writhing with an agony so intense that it made white spots dance in your vision like little stars.
“Y/N!” Sam cried out, moving quickly to bridge the short distance to your side where you lay in pain on the cold ground. Sam slid an arm around your back as your other brother dropped to his knees next to you, hovering his hand over your chest where blood had already begun to pool through and seep into your shirt. He was frozen with terror unsure what to do at the sight of your pained expression or the way that your hands clutched feebly at the hem of Sammy’s jacket.
“Call 911.” Sam demanded, turning to face the man who stood there white as a sheet.
“I-I didn’t mean-”
“Now!” Dean yelled.
You whimpered at the yelling. It cuts through your already pounding head adding to the concoction of your agony. You couldn’t see straight, couldn’t hear properly, couldn’t feel anything besides the burning fire in your chest that spread through your lungs like a disease. Your head lolled back against Sam’s arm as you began to taste metallic copper in your mouth, slowly drowning on your own blood that had filled your lungs.
“No. No” Sam said as you writhed in his arms, glancing up bleary eyed at him. Dean pressed down firmly on the wound, and it hurt more than anything but you couldn’t bring yourself to even whine at the contact.
“Come on sweetheart.” Dean pleaded. “Not like this.”
You could see his lips moving but it sounded like he was underwater as your body began to grow numb and your vision slowly faded. You tried to blink away the spots that consumed your vision, but it was no use and your eyes ended up fluttering shut just as your ragged breaths slowed before stopping altogether until you lay morbid limp in your big brother's arms.

‘Heat of the moment-’
Sam sat up abruptly, awoken by the sudden racket that filled the room. After sitting up groggily and allowing his eyes to adjust to the light he glanced at the clock, hardly noting the time before he turned to his brother. He had been here before. He realised suddenly, but this time his older brother was not lacing his boots. Instead he was stood at the foot of the bed, staring at the space beside Sam. He felt the blankets shift around him as you tried to bury yourself into the mattress, bringing the covers over your head to try and block out some of the noise and fall back to sleep. Sam stared at you, startled. He could have sworn that just a moment ago you were-
“Rise and shine, Sammy.” Dean said, with much less enthusiasm as he had before. His little brother furrowed his brows.
“Dean…?”
“I know. Is it just me or are you getting a serious sense of deja-vu?”
He nodded in agreement.
“Be quiet.” You murmured from behind the sheets, squeezing your eyes shut and rolling over. You knew it wasn’t going to happen but you were trying to cling onto the idea of getting more than 4 hours of sleep for once.
The Winchesters shared a look. Man, something strange was happening and whatever it was, you clearly weren’t feeling the same thing they were.
~
The diner was exactly the same as it had been the last time the two brothers were here. You were still looking around with the same uncertainty as you were before and you even ordered the same thing as you did before and so did Dean. Tuesday’s special. Pig in a poke.
“It’s tuesday?” He said uncertainly to himself.
You stared at him blankly as if it was the most obvious thing in the world “Yeah.”
Sam eyed you strangely and you raised a brow.
“You okay?”
“Peachy.” He replied, leaning across the table. “Are you?”
Narrowing your eyes at the pair of boys you asked. “Okay. What’s going on with you two?”
“What?”
“Are you sure you’re feeling okay?”
“You don’t…you don’t remember any of this?” Sam asked you
“Remember what?”
“This. Today. Like it’s happened before.” Dean.
“You mean like Deja Vu?” You frowned.
“No like it’s really happened before.” Sam stressed. “If it feels like we’re living yesterday all over again.”
“Deja Vu.”
“No. Forget about that. Its-
The conversation was once again cut off by the waitress who was delivering the food. And once again she sent the hot sauce toppling. But this time, Sam caught it before it could hit the ground.
You gave him a charismatic grin. “Nice reflexes.”
The rest of the day did not pass by quickly after that.
Your brothers were trying to explain the situation to you, while theorising themselves. It was safe to say that at first you were completely lost, but were halfway to believing them when it happened.
The car came from nowhere, speeding around the corner. It collided harshly with your unsuspecting body sending you skidding across the asphalt. By the time your brothers had reached you, a trail of blood trickled down your face from the wounds that were opened as your skin ran across the floor. Dean nearly choked on the sight of your pained and bloodied face as he reached you but you were dead before he had even lifted you into his arms.
And then, there it was again. That wretched song, screaming from the radio.
‘Heat of the moment-’
Sam sat up abruptly, awoken by the sudden racket that filled the room and muttered one single phrase.
“Son of a bitch.”
The rest of the day did not pass by quickly after that. In fact, it never seemed to end.
~
Sam was getting angry now. No. That's not really the right word to describe it. He was frustrated. Tired. Scared. Dean was angry. And growing impatient. But both of them could not bear to live another tuesday. They couldn’t bear to see you fine one second and then dying the next. They had lived through at least a hundred tuesdays, had scanned every inch of the diner, the town, the mystery spot, they had followed the people from the diner and had even tried to keep you in the motel room but no matter how hard they tried they were forced to watch you die again.
The worst part was that you were clueless.  Sam and Dean had to re-explain the ordeal to you everytime they woke up to that stupid song again, leaving you back at square one. They had lived through the day so many times that it had gotten to the point where they could both predict your sentences word for word and while it freaked you out, their patience was wearing thin.
Until finally, something changed. Dean had asked the woman he kept bumping into to see her flyer. They finally had a lead. So, the next time Tuesday morning rolled around, they felt hopeful as they filed off the information to you.
“When’d you get time to do all that research?” you asked through a mouthful of food.
Dean did not have the energy to answer, so he just stood, rolling his eyes. “Let’s go. We’re wasting time here.”
That was when Sam spotted it. The sticky, pink syrup sat in the dispenser next to the half eaten pancake. He frowned, stopping suddenly. When you noticed his absence you turned and asked him what was wrong.
Sam watched the man leave through the slats in the blinds. “That guy has maple syrup for the last 100 tuesdays, now all of a sudden he’s having strawberry?
“It’s a free country, Sammy. A man can’t choose his own syrup now? What have we become?”
“Not in this diner.” Sam shook his head. “Not today.”
“Nothing in this place ever changes. Ever. “ Dean told you. “Except us.”
~
The two brothers nearly lost their shit when they woke up again, but by the time they had suffered through the morning routine and had reached the diner they had come up with a plan.
There were no conversations during breakfast. The pair left you to ponder over your own thoughts after mentioning the idea of a time loop. Any of your questions went unanswered as they stared down the man, jumping into action when he rose, pushing the stool out with an ear splitting squeal and making his way to the parking lot.
Dean gripped the man firmly, forcing him against the fence by the scruff of his neck and silencing his protests. “We know who you are. Or should I say what?”
You watched very confused from the side.
“Oh my god-” the man begged, wide eyed. “Please don’t kill me!”
“Uh, Boys-”
“It took us a hell of a long time, but we got it.” Sam seethed.
“What?!”
“It’s your M.O that gave you away.” He continued. “Going after pompous jerks, giving them their just deserts. Your kind loves that, don’t they?”
“Yeah. Sure. Okay! Just put the stake down!” He pleaded, side eyeing the weapon that Sam pressed to his neck. Sam refused to move.
“Sammy, maybe you should-”
“No!” He yelled at you. The tone of his voice was so unexpected for Sam that you recoiled. “There’s only one creature powerful enough to do what you’re doing. Making reality out of nothing, sticking people in time loops- In fact, you’d pretty much have to be a god.”
“You’d have to be a trickster.” Dean spat.
“Misters…” The man pleaded shakily with tears in his eyes “My name is Ed Coleman. My wife’s name is Amelia- I’ve got two kids! For crying out loud I sell ad space!”
“Don’t lie to me! I know what you are!” Sam shouted into his face.
“We’ve killed one of your kind before.”
There was a heavy paused before the grey hair and wrinkles on the man before you morphed into the all familiar face of the trickster you and your brothers had run into not too long ago.
He smirked and your brothers’ faces dropped. “Actually, you didn’t.”
“Why are you doing this? Why her!?” Sam pressed, digging the stake into his neck.
“You’re kidding?” The trickster replied “You all tried to kill me last time. Why wouldn’t I do this? Why not make you three suffer.”
“So this is funny to you? Killing her over and over again?” Dean gritted his teeth.
“One- yes, it is fun. And two -this is so not about killing Y/N. This joke is on you two. I mean… come on. How great has it been to watch you to see her being torn apart again and again. Watching your sister die everyday. Forever.”
“You son of a bitch.”
The trickster smiled. “How long will it take you to realise you can’t save your sister, no matter what.”
“Oh yeah? We kill you, this ends now.” Sam growled.
“Woah. Okay, look. I was just playing around. You can’t take a joke, fine. You’re out of it. Tomorrow you’ll wake up and it’ll be wednesday. I swear.”
“You're lying. “
He shrugged. “If I am, you know where to find me.”
~
“But you better promise me, I’ll be back in time-”
Sam sat up abruptly, awoken by the sudden racket that filled the room. After sitting up groggily and allowing his eyes to adjust to the light he glanced at the clock, hardly noting the time before he… made a double take. The small three letter panel now read ‘WED’
Sam couldn’t contain the gasp that fell from his lips. “It’s wednesday!”
“Yeah…?” You said from across the room where you were rummaging though your bag. “Which usually comes after Tuesday. Turn that crap off, would you?” you asked him.
“No. Leave it on.” Dean interjected. He agreed with Sam. If he heard Asia one more time he was going to kill himself. “Isn’t that the most beautiful song you’ve ever heard?”
“...No. Jesus, how many Tuesdays did you guys have?”
“You don’t wanna know.” Dean sighed. “Wait..what do you remember.”
“I remember you two being pretty whacked out yesterday. And then i remember running into the trickster. S’bout it really.”
“Right. Whatever. Lets get out of here.” Sam said as he pulled on a shirt.
“What? No breakfast?” You asked, slightly upset that you were going to miss out on the diner food you had quite enjoyed yesterday.
“No breakfast.”
~
Sam and Dean were still inside when they heard it. The unmistakable pop of a gun being fired. You were outside loading the last of your things into Baby and-
Sam's heart sank.
“Y/N!” He cried, dropping what he was doing and racing down the stairs towards you.
The offender fled the moment the gunshot had sounded and your two brothers could see him rounding the corner, but their concern was on you, sprawled out across the floor in a pool of your own blood.
They shook you, crying out your name but you didn’t move. Your heart had stopped beating.
“No. This isn’t supposed to happen today.” Sam squeezed his eyes shut tight, only to nearly cry when he opened them again and you were still lying lifelessly in his brothers clutch. “We’re supposed to wake up.”
And then, he began to cry.
Part 2 may be coming…I’ll add it to my to do list

summary: You broke up with your boyfriend Gojo Satoru out of what he thought was no where. He hasn’t heard from you since you took all of your stuff out of his house while he was at work. But now here you were, soaking wet at his house in the middle of the night. Let’s just say, he wasn’t that happy to see your face.
Day 3: Hate Sex
A/n: I’m actually really enjoying making these so I hope y’all are liking them too <3
masterlist
You didn’t even know how you got to his door. Your feet just led you there as if they knew the way. So, here you were knocking on your ex’s door in the middle of the night. Well 1:00 am to be more specific. It was pathetic in a sort of way, especially since you were the one that broke up with him and also because you got caught in the rain. Your freshly done silk press now ruined.
“I know that fucker is awake. Answer the damn door.” You go to bang on the door again when it’s yanked open. Now you’re just standing there like a dumb ass with your fist raised. Gojo Satoru wasn’t wearing his blindfold, shades sitting on the point of his nose. When his face met yours, immediately a scowl fell upon his beautiful lips.
“What the fuck do you —“He paused taking in your appearance. You knew you looked like a drowned rat in running attire. You were even wearing the running shoes he got you for your birthday last year. He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Just come in.”
He steps out of your way and you carefully make your way past him to get inside. Immediately you remove your water logged shoes, standing with your arms around yourself now in the coolness of his apartment. He left you standing there in the cold until he came back throwing a towel in your direction. You could it, attempting to dry yourself off but you were soaked to the bone.
“I just need to charge my phone and I’ll call an Uber and be out your way.” You mumble attempting to gently squeeze some of the moisture out of your ruined hair.
“What have I told you about going on runs without charging your phone?! Especially in the middle of the night are you crazy?! I’ve told you how dangerous that is.” He scolds you and you simply roll your eyes.
He always thought he knew better.
“I would have been fine if I didn’t get caught in the rain” You spit back avoiding his eye contact trying your best not to freeze. Why the fuck was it so cold in here?
“You think that makes it better?! It’s the middle of the fucking night Y/N! Your house is 10 miles from here! Do you not understand how dangerous that is?! How many times have I told you?!”
You finally met his angry gaze, your face reflecting the same “I can take care of myself! If I didn’t get caught in the rain I wouldn’t have been here in the first place.”
Your arms are crosse in front of you, rage was starting to warm the cold out of your bones. You could tell your response pissed him off even more by the glare he had and the way he was aggressively moving toward you.
“Cut the bullshit. It started raining 40 minutes ago which gave you plenty of time to go home. And don’t even try to tell me you were going to run 20 miles in the rain on a fucking Tuesday.”
Yall are face to face at this point as he stands over your. His face is red with annoyance, he always looked so damn hot when he was mad. Yall ended up having a lot of angry sex that way. Not today though because for once you didn’t have any bite back. He was right and you had no idea why you were here. Your face still hardened as you sniffle, your nose trying to run. At that, his face softens and he sighs taking a step back. He didn’t have it in him to be mad at you when you looked like that. His broken heart breaking even more with every sniffle.
“Go take a shower before you get sick”
“I’ll be—“ You start but he cuts you off before you could finish your rebuttal.
“No you won’t, don’t argue with me and just go.”
He always thought he could tell you what to do.
You clamp your mouth shut. There was no point in arguing because you in fact did always get sick this way, then he used to have to take care of you for a week everyday reminding you of how maybe you should listen to him sometimes because he was right. With no further arguing, you made your way to the bathroom. You turn the shower on and strip while you wait for the shower to heat you. Looking at yourself in the mirror, you looked terrible. Only part of your hair had reverted, the bags under your eyes from the lack of sleep made you look ill, overall you looked dreadful.
“What the fuck are you doing here” You question your reflection. You hadn’t seen Satoru’s face since the break-up and it wasn’t a good breakup either. That was mainly your fault though, you just up and left no explanation. Yeah, you had your own place but most of all your things were at his place. You packed your shit, said nothing to him and blocked him. Even though, he only tried coming to your place once. Just once. And that confirmed to yourself that you made the right decision by breaking up with him the way you did. That didn’t stop you from missing the man you hated so much.
You sigh at your reflection before snorting, “You’re so stupid”
The shower was finally hot enough to slide yourself in. Once the hot water hit your skin, you immediately melted into the feeling. The tension from the argument melting away with the heat along with the cold in your bones. You decided to just go ahead and wet the rest of your hair, there was no saving it. Putting your head under the steaming water made you feel even better. You almost forgot that you couldn’t get too comfortable in there, so you quickly finished up your shower using his conditioner to make sure your hair didn’t get knocked putting it into two plats.
Once you step out the shower you see clothes laid out for you on the sink. He must have slipped in when your head was under the water. It was your favorite shirt of his and some shorts you guess you forgot, almost bringing a smile to your face.
You slipped out of the bathroom, closing the door gently behind you. He wasn’t in his room, thankfully, so you made your way back to the living room. His back was to you as he lounged on the couch. Oh how many times you’ve come out to this sight. The smell of ginger filled your nostrils and you noticed his favorite mug filled with a hot ginger tea, a bottle of whiskey next to it.
He doesn’t turn to you, but acknowledges your presence “That’s for you if you want it. I know you like it when you’re cold.”
It was your favorite., you gladly picked it up placing more than a shot into the warm cup.
He was only thoughtful when he felt like it.
“Thanks.” You say barley above a whisper but you knew he heard you because the room was completely silent besides your soft sniffles.
“No problem. I tried to charge your phone but there’s water in the port so it’s drying out.” He finally turns to you. His eyes always held secrets. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking as you nod at his comment going to sit on the opposite side of the couch. You tuck your legs into you to bring yourself some comfort as you sip on your hot tea.
Gojo didn’t know what to say to you. You broke his heart and blocked him. He had no clue why you were here. He had no clue why you even left him. All the sudden he came home, expecting to see the love his life except he came home to an empty cold apartment. You and all your things just up and gone. He tried going to your house but when you didn’t answer knowing that you were home, he didn’t know what to do with himself. He was now just alone, again.
You could never read him.
The silence between you hung in the air. It seemed like time was stopped and moving too fast at the same time. Gojo was the one to finally break the silence.
“Why?”
A simple question.
Your head slowly raised to meet his gaze. His eyes were sad, the blue sparkling in a way you’ve never seen before.
“Why what?” You knew what he meant but you didn’t want to just come out and say it. He should fucking know why.
“Don’t piss me off more than you already have.” He scoffs at you, unamused.
“You literally have no reason to be mad” now that really pissed him off. He pushed himself off the couch and stormed over to you, looking you into between his arms on either side of you. You try and sink further into the couch, casually taking a huge swig out of your cup as if you weren’t fazed by his behavior. His eyes looked wild, you hadn’t even noticed he didn’t have his shades on until right then.
“I have no reason to be mad? Me? You took all of your shit out the house and fucking blocked me, Y/N. And now here you are showing up at my door in the middle of the fucking night to play fucking mind games with me”
“I told you –“ You begin getting cut off yet again by him. He usually let you speak your mind but not tonight it seemed.
“I don’t give a fuck what you have to say. I fucking hate you, you broke my heart and then just show up like its not a fucking deal. Why the fuck are you here?! To torture me?!” His grip is tighter on the couch.
Your voice is small, “ I don’t know why I’m here. I just went on a run and before I knew it I was here.”
You avoid his gaze as he leans back aggressively running his fingers through his hair. He laughs almost defeatedly.
“Maybe I’m the cursed one instead of the honored one.” He says as he paces in front of you.
“Satoru” You say softly, reaching out to him, your hand moving on its own. He looks at your hand, snorting.
“No. You don’t get to do that.” He finally stopped pacing, standing in front of you. “Just tell me why you left” His voice and eyes pleaded at you. As much as you can see you broke his heart, yours was shattered as well too.
“I heard you”
“What” He says confused as to what the fuck you were talking about.
“With your parents. I heard you on the phone with your parents.” You say as you finally look up to meet his gaze. He still looks confused at you as if there’s no way he knows what’s going on. “Stop acting like youre confused.”
“Because I am confused!”
“You literally agreed when your dad said that you should break up with me! That you were too good for me!” You yell standing up, getting in his face.
You remember it like it was yesterday. You had fell asleep on the couch as you were watching a movie, but were woken up when you heard him talking quietly on the phone in the kitchen. His dad was yelling at him about how he needed to break up with you and that you were no good for him. His response: okay. You had never heard him not argue back with his father but this time? The time that it came to y’all’s relationship he was silent. He had no fight in him for you and you were crushed, you didn’t even know how you didn’t burst into tears right then. So you did what you thought was best and just left the next morning.
“You didn’t even defend me. You just said okay and that was that.” Your voice was cracking, tears threatening to spill out at any second. He looked at you as if you were a fucking idiot.
“For someone so smart you are so fucking stupid. I hate how fucking hardheaded you are.”
Before you could ask what he was talking about his lips crash into yours. Your bodies came together like missing puzzle pieces. You missed him so fucking much. His mouth moved harshly against yours, pushing your further into the couch.
“You never listen to me” He rasps as his mouth moves to your jaw trailing kisses to your ear. His tongue licks around your ear, sending shivers down your spine. You’re panting at this point, your legs immediately wrapping around his waist trying to pull him closer. He bites on your ear making your back arch into him, moaning into his shoulder.
“Fuck ‘toru.” You moan as your hands get tangled into his hair. His mouth licks and sucks on your neck, pulling the most delicious moans out of you. You can feel him growing between your legs as he presses himself into your now wet shorts. Your wetness is seeping through even his own layers of clothes which gets a deep throaty groan out of him.
“At least your pussy missed me, you heartless slut.” He scoffs, grinding more into you grabbing you by your throat. “Broke my heart for no fucking reason because you didn’t want to communicate.”
His grip tightens on your neck and you squirm under him as you feel yourself getting even more spurred on. The hand not occupied around your throat sinks straight into your shorts. His long thick fingers forcing their way into soaked cunt.
“Yeah your pussy really missed me. She wouldn’t have to be so needy for me now if you would of just fucking talked to me. I hate how you always just shut down.” He scolds as he’s aggressively finger fucking you, his thumb just as aggressively circling your clit. You could barely even register all that he was saying, his fingers were hitting the best parts within you. You moan his name over and over again. Your body was so close to reaching it’s climax, it was making you dizzy. Right before you were tipped over the edge, he yanked his fingers out. Before you could even complain about the emptiness in you, he shoves his slick coated fingers in your mouth. You suck on them greedily, loving the taste of yourself on his fingers. He looks darkly down at you as he yanks your shorts off, causing a gasp from you which makes him shove his fingers further down your throat gagging you.
“You know what I hate the most about you?” He asks pulling his dick free from his pants. It was as pretty as you remember, it wasn’t super thick but it was long and had the prettiest curve to it. “That you would think that of me. That you would think I didn’t love you.” He strokes his dick looking down at you, your eyes hooded and filled with love.
“But don’t worry, I’m about to fuck you like I hate you.” He says as he yanks you up, throwing you over the side of the couch so that your back is arched perfectly for him. Satoru doesn’t even give you time to think as he thrusts himself completely inside of you causing you to groan deeply from the sudden and harsh intrusion. He pounded into your relentlessly, hands placed firmly on your hips holding you in place. You didn’t know if you could take much more. He was so deep, ramming into your cervix with every thrust and every so often making your ass which you knew would make it hard for you to sit for days after. Your pussy was squeezing him tightly with every smack.
“Oh, you’re enjoying this huh? You didn’t have to break my fucking heart to get me to fuck you like this.” He growls smugly behind you as one of his hands moves from your hips to your front rubbing your combined juices on his fingers. With his, now wet, thumb he sticks it straight into your asshole that was puckering at him. You throw your head back at the intrusion now feeling overwhelmingly full. He matches the thrust of his fingers with the thrusts of his dick.
“Yes! Satoru! Yes fuck yes. Oh you’re going to make me cum baby.” You babble unable to control any feeling in your body anymore.
“Then come for me.”He commands, using his other hand to grab the back of your neck pulling you back. At that point, your mind was empty except for the feeling of him inside of you. After a few more thrusts, you cum, and you cum hard, harder than you ever had. Your eyes roll in the back of your head and you think they may get stuck like that with the way feel right now. The noises you made were so lewd and the death grip you pussy had on Satorus dick as he was trying to fuck you through your high had him cuming deeply in you.
Once both of your bodies stopped shaking, he let you both fall over the side of the couch, his back pressed against you panting hard. He catches his breath and gently pulls out of you, gaining a whimper from you. With a sigh, he picks you up and brings y’all to the bedroom, laying you down gently pulling the covers over your spent body. He slides in on the other side, turning your face to him.
“Are you ready to listen?”He asks gently, cupping your face. Your eyelids were heavy but you nod.
“The reason I didn’t argue with my dad was because I had planned on never talking to him again after we got off the phone, on top of the fact I thought you were sleeping.” Maybe he was more thoughtful than you gave him credit for, but you were still confused. Him and his father argued all of the time, but he wouldn’t ever just cut off contact with him.
“What happened?” You ask softly, now seeing how big you overreacted.
Satoru sighs before placing a kiss on your forehead, deciding on if he wanted to tell you or not. You reach out, stroking his cheek lovingly allowing him to open up on his own time, showing you were listening.
“I told him I wanted to marry you.” He says finally. Your movements immediately still and your eyes widen.
“Huh” You question, blinking several times to make sure you were awake and registering everything properly.
“I let him know I was thinking about proposing to you and when he gave me that reaction, I decided that there was no longer a point in talking to him. I couldn’t have anyone in my life who didn’t see how special you were.”
You felt like you couldn’t breath and you just said the first thing that came to your mind, “I’m an idiot”
You’re trying to hold back tears and he pulls you into an embrace.
“So it seems. But you’re my idiot. Yeah?” He asks rubbing circles into your back. You nod into his chest.
“Next time you think about pulling a disappearing act. Can you just talk to me first?” He asks and you nod again getting a chuckle out of him.
“Still hate you for breaking my heart but I can think of a few ways you can repay me” He says as he pulls you back, capturing your mouth once more. The rest of the night, you did your best to repay him for your lack of communication skills.
The next morning, you woke up wrapped up in your loving man, his head in your chest and your legs thrown over him. Unfortunately for you, you felt like shit. You, indeed, did get sick. Another incident you weren’t going to hear the end of until you got better.

Easy (Gavi)
Summary: You and Gavi have an argument, but he’s not willing to let you go.
Warning(s): none
A/N: Please send in any requests if you have any. Short blurb for today while I try to figure out what to write about.
Word Count: [854]
Lyric series: four
You tell me that I overthink till I ruin a good thing. Anything else? You tell me that you'd rather fight than spend a single peaceful night, with somebody else.
Tumblr media
It was a Tuesday night and you found yourself staring at Gavi from across the island table, stuck in another fight.
It seemed like for the last two weeks all the two of you did was fight.
There were a lot of things weighing on your relationship, one of them being the fact that you were moving back to the United States, your home country, in just a week, completing your year abroad.
The idea of doing long distance, as well as the time difference, weighed heavy on both your minds. Not only were you going to be busy with school when you went back home, but Gavi would also be playing the final games in La Liga which meant a lot of traveling around Europe.
Today was the first time the two of you had seen each other in a week, and he was leaving again in two days, but you had been busy all day saying goodbye to all your study abroad friends, so you couldn’t come over to his house till late at night.
That led you to now, as the two of you argued back and forth in his kitchen, hands flailing and voices raised.
“What the hell Y/n, this is the first time we can see each other all week and you spend the entire day with your friends?”
You sighed, “Gavi I already told you, today was the only day they could do it, and I really wanted to see them.”
“What about me?” Gavi asked.
You rolled your eyes, “Well, I’m here now aren’t I?”
Gavi took in your expression, annoyance plastered across his face, “Do you even want to be here?”
You felt yourself getting agitated as he looked at you, waiting for your response. You didn’t know why you couldn’t explain to him that you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, it seemed like over the last few weeks there had been a divide between you and him, and you couldn’t do anything but watch you both slip away from each other.
Your silence was enough of an answer for Gavi.
“Are you serious Y/n? You’re going to be gone in a week, and you don’t even want to spend time together?”
You bit your lip, forcing yourself to speak, “Of course I do. But we’ll see each other over winter break.”
“Winter break?!? It’s August, that’s in 5 months. We’re not going to see each other for 5 months, and that’s okay for you?” He questioned, his face falling.
You instantly felt bad seeing his hurt expression, you hadn’t meant it in a bad way, just in a way of reminding both you and him that this was not the end, but the more you thought about it, the more it really felt like it was.
The feeling of losing someone who meant so much to you in such a short period of time was overwhelming you, and you did the only thing you could think of to ease the pain.
“What are we even doing? Is this even worth it?” You spoke, looking at Gavi with glassy eyes.
His expression mirrored your own, and you could practically see all the anger leave at your words, his body deflating, “Look, I know long distance will be hard, but it’s worth it to me. You’re worth it to me.”
You felt yourself exhale at his words, “How can you be sure this will even work out? All we do is fight.”
He came over to you slowly, gently grabbing your hand and intertwining your fingers with his, “Because I know what it’s like to love you and be loved by you, and I would rather fight than lose that and be happy with someone else.”
You felt your body fill with warmth at his words, and you knew the second he spoke that you could never break up with him because you felt the same exact way he did.
You pulled him into a hug, cursing yourself for always trying to run away when things got difficult.
You spoke into his chest, feeling his heartbeat against your ear, “I’m sorry. You’re right, you’re worth it, I’m just scared.”
He grabbed your chin, looking down at you with a soft smile, “I know, I am too. But I think we can do it. Besides, we’ll have winter break right?” He spoke, teasing you.
You swatted his chest playfully before snuggling into his embrace, “Haha. So funny.”
You could hear the grin in his voice as he spoke, “No but seriously, let’s just make the most of the time we have left.”
You nodded against him, “Deal.”
“Also sorry for getting mad about today, I just wanted to see you.”
You slightly pulled away from him, grinning, “Awh Pablito, you missed me that much? Just wait till I record this and share it, no one will believe you’ve gone soft.”
He mocked your grin before his lips fell into a thin line at your antics, “Don’t you even dare Y/n or we’ll have to make it spring break.”
Your eyebrows rose in surprise, “Touche.”

Morning seems to come sooner than you’d like. Jungkook is draped over your side, his face buried in your chest as he snores softly. His hair is a mess, splayed out over your shoulder. He groans when you try to get out of his arms, squeezing you tighter until you’re peeling his fingers off you one by one.
Jungkook yawns, sleepily opening his eyes in a mock glare. Fuck, if he wasn’t the cutest man ever, but one look at his tattoos and piercings nearly leaves you ravenous.
“Where are you going?” he asks with a pout. You smile as you card your fingers through his hair, gently scratching his head.
“I’ve got to get up, Koo. I need to pee and get my stuff ready to go home,” you remind him, but he whines and clings to you.
“Just stay here,” he suggests as he closes his eyes again, nearly falling asleep again. You poke his cheek and he groans.
“I have my groceries here and lots of cleaning to do at home. I can’t stay here again, baby. We have work the rest of the week.”
Jungkook sighs heavily as he rolls onto his back to stare at his ceiling. He knows he’s being a little dramatic, but he never had the chance to have you stay over as long as you have this week. He enjoys waking up beside you, getting ready for bed with you, and when you help him pick out his clothes.
“Fine,” he resigns, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “You can go home, but after lunch.”
“Oh?” you raise a brow. “Are you making lunch today? Skipping right over breakfast and everything?”
Jungkook nods as he fishes his phone from the nightstand to see the time. It’s a bit after 11 a.m., so he shrugs.
With a groan and a few pops of his neck and shoulders, Jungkook reluctantly climbs out of bed. He skips (yes, skips), past you with a grin and a hasty kiss to your cheek.
It’s only a moment or two before you hear him singing, followed by the clang of pots and pans hitting each other in his rush to get them on the stove.
You smile as you join him, offering to help as he connects his music to the speaker and begins dancing around the kitchen, tugging on your hand until you join him.
Tumblr media
By the time you’ve had lunch and settled into Jungkook’s couch, you’re not surprised when he brings over a hamper full of his clothing.
“After I get this done, we can go to your place,” he assures you.
You roll your eyes.
“You said after lunch,” you remind him, but he turns the TV up instead and smirks when you huff. He knows he’s pushing your buttons, but he wants to have you around a little longer before he has to take you home.
So, you watch him fold his laundry. He’s very particular about the way he folds his underwear. You laugh at first, but then he shows you how he does it, and you help him. He says it saves space, and you shrug. You don’t want to go home just yet, and if it means you get to learn more about him, why look a gift horse in the mouth?
Tumblr media
“Just set it down anywhere,” you instruct as you tug your key out of the lock. Jungkook nods as he walks past you with your bags of groceries.
Once your key is out of the lock, you shut the door, locking it after and joining Jungkook in the kitchen. He helps you put your groceries away, offering to start your laundry.
You thank him, humming as you clean your counter and wash your hands. Jungkook startles you when he walks back into the kitchen. He wraps himself around you, his chin resting on your shoulder.
“Kook,” you whine as you turn to dry your hands on a kitchen towel. Jungkook hums in acknowledgment, still clinging to you. You don’t mind his presence behind you, melting when he kisses your neck, his hands gripping your hips.
“Jungkook,” you sigh as he moves his hands upward, cupping your breasts over your shirt. You didn’t wear a bra while leaving his house to go to yours and now you were thankful as he slid his hands under your shirt to grope your tits. Your nipples hardened between his fingers, his soft lips pressed to your shoulder.
“Take this off,” Jungkook grunts as he tugs on the hem of your shirt. You giggle as he tugs on it again, helping you out of it. His lips plant a trail of kisses from shoulder to shoulder as his hands move down to your pajama bottoms.
“Fuck,” you moan, turning your head to kiss him. “I want you.”
Jungkook chuckles, his eyes sparkling as he tugs your bottoms down along with your underwear. The two of you already had a hard time keeping your hands off each other, but now it seems to intensify.
The two of you exchange a few rushed, sloppy kisses before he’s fumbling with his pants. You giggle when he trips over his feet, his hands caging you in between the counter. One more kiss is exchanged before Jungkook wraps his hand around his cock, stroking himself and moaning your name as you bend over further, begging him to fuck you.
Jungkook groans, licking his lips as he lines his cock up at your entrance and slides home. You gasp, clutching the counter harder than necessary as he slides home. Your eyes flutter shut, fireworks bursting in the darkness as you cry out his name.
“Fuck, so big,” you grunt. You inhale, biting your bottom lip as he thrusts into you. He grinds against you, slowly fucking into you as his lips kiss every inch of skin within reach.
“Shit, baby,” Jungkook hisses as you clench around him. You’re so warm and wet, it makes him nearly combust. The sweet sound of your voice moaning his name feels like a heavenly euphoria that reaches every cell of his being.
“Just like that, love,” Jungkook grunts as you fuck back onto him, slamming your ass down. You won’t last long, and frankly, that’s okay. You have a long list of chores to do before you go to work and oh, Jungkook is rubbing your clit. He bites down on your shoulder, cursing into your skin.
“So close, Koo,” you whine, your nails digging into the counter as he slams into you again and again. He moans your name as you tighten around him, falling over the edge as pleasure courses through you. Your mind whirls, the sound of your thundering heartbeat drowning out the dulcet cries of Jungkook’s release.
He pants, his sweaty forehead resting on your back. “Damn.”
You smile, groaning as you turn around to face him. He smiles brightly when your eyes lock on him, kissing your lips quickly.
Before you can say anything, the washer dings, announcing the end of the cycle. Jungkook jumps, startled by the sound before he rushes to get it into the dryer, but trips over his pants that wrap around his ankles. He kicks his pants off, tugging his boxers up while you laugh as he goes.
“It’s not going anywhere, Kook!” you call as you tug your panties up and grab your clothes. You’ll have to get yourself cleaned up, but Jungkook seems to have it handled.
Tumblr media
The nightclub is almost at capacity. You’ve been slammed for most of the night, but as it nears midnight, the crowd thins out.
“I want tacos so bad,” you whine as you wipe down a glass beside Hoseok and Taehyung.
“Ooh, fuck yeah!” Hoseok is immediately on board.
“Yoongi!” You call and wave, gaining your friend’s attention. He’s looking over the crowd from the second floor and looks your way.
“Can I take my break? We need tacos!” You shout over the music and you can see Yoongi sigh. He comes down from his perch and leans against the bar.
Jungkook and Taehyung are handling the crowd. A few people linger as they spot Taehyung, some flirting, some just chatting.
Yoongi had anticipated his husband’s need for tacos and had placed an order at one of the nearby bars doing Taco Tuesday. Normally, you’d bounce from bar to bar to see who had the best tacos, but after finding one just a block away, you’d begged Yoongi to make that your official taco spot.
“Take Jungkook with you or Joon,” Yoongi scrolls on his phone, sending a text to the bar to confirm his order is ready. When he gets confirmation, he heads behind the bar with you as you wait for Jungkook to finish ringing up a customer before you pull him by the arm.
“Be right back, boss!” You wave as you drag Jungkook through the crowd as you head down a hallway to an exit in the back.
“Where are we going?” Jungkook asks, confused. He knew the two of you weren’t allowed to take your breaks together, for good reason, so this was strange.
“It’s Taco Tuesday!” You grin as you round the building and lead him onto the busy downtown sidewalk. You loop your arm through his, the humid air ruffling your hair as you walk on the sidewalk trying not to bump into anyone.
“Okay?” Jungkook is still confused, but he’ll take any alone time with you that he can get. Besides, you’re holding onto him and grinning, way too excited over tacos. Perhaps he should look up a recipe for you next time you stay at his place. He’d make three dozen just for you if it would get you smiling like you are right now.
“Yoongi placed an order at Siete,” you explain as you wait to cross the street.
Once you cross, you show the bouncer your ID and Jungkook shows his own before you’re let in. You head straight to the cashier and give Yoongi’s name.
It takes a minute or two before 2 large boxes are placed in Jungkook’s arms. You wish you could have driven over, but with the drunk crowds and the police shutting down a few blocks; it wasn’t plausible.
Jungkook’s got it, despite you offering to help. He has you carry the bag of salsa and napkins, clearing his way as he goes to avoid dropping the goodies.
Tumblr media
Yoongi sneaks out the back door with a cigarette in his mouth. He’s fishing in his pocket for his lighter when he hears a noise coming from the small alley near the dumpsters.
He curses, taking the cigarette out of his mouth. He knew sending you and Jungkook for food would end up with you two fucking in the alley. The least you could do was do it in the car, out of sight.
Yoongi sighs as he rounds the corner, knowing Hoseok would be hangry if you took longer than fifteen minutes. The man loved his tacos, more so when Yoongi paid for them.
“Hey!” Yoongi shouts, startling the couple.
It takes Yoongi a second too long to realize it isn’t you and Jungkook hooking up by the dumpsters. Yoongi is mortified, face turning red as he apologizes briskly and takes off back into the nightclub.
He’s panting when he shuts the door, shaking his head.
Curse him for being nosy.
Tumblr media
By the time you and Jungkook are heading up the stairs back inside the club, Yoongi still looks like he’s seen a ghost. He’s leaning over the railing, looking pale, deep in thought.
Yoongi raises his head when you reach him, holding up the bag of goodies.
“Thanks,” is all he says before he looks down at his husband, who is smiling and laughing with customers with a stoic Taehyung, focused on making drinks without messing up. Luckily, the crowd isn’t as intense as it would be on the weekend and Yoongi waits until his husband meets his gaze. Yoongi tilts his head in your direction. Hoseok claps and jumps in his spot, whispering, something to Tae before he leaves the bar with the other workers. Tae stays behind, helping where he can while you eye Yoongi suspiciously.
“You good, boss?” you ask, concerned.
Yoongi chuckles, shaking his head. “You fuckers.”
“What did we do?” Jungkook’s thick eyebrows nearly disappear under his fringe as he asks.
“I thought the two of you were fucking off,” Yoongi starts, shaking his head. “Behind the dumpsters.”
Jungkook grimaces. “Ew! It stinks back there and there’s nowhere clean to bend her over.”
“Jungkook!” you hiss, smacking him on the arm repeatedly.
“Hey! Hey! Precious cargo!” Hoseok shouts over the music as he reaches the three of you.
Yoongi rolls his eyes.
“Wait,” you grin maliciously. “Did you fucking interrupt someone hooking up?!”
“Shut up!” Yoongi hisses, shaking his head. “That’s the last fucking time I sneak out for a smoke.”
“Serves you right,” Hoseok grumbles.
“I saw CHEEKS!” Yoongi screams, making the three of you laugh.
“Come on,” Hoseok rolls his eyes as he leads you and Jungkook to the break room. Jungkook sets the tacos down on the table and Hoseok grabs his fill and Yoongi’s before heading to his office with Yoongi still muttering about his precious eyes.
You sit next to Jungkook, stuffing a taco in your mouth and moaning loudly. He laughs as he hands you a napkin.
“Are you coming back to my place tonight?” he asks when you’ve finished your first round of tacos and debate on a second.
“I don’t have a bag packed,” you remind him. He smiles bashfully.
“Yeah, you do. It’s in the trunk,” Jungkook giggles.
You shake your head. “Then I guess I am.”
“We can get lunch,” he offers, but you’re already in your head. You want to sleep beside him again. You prefer being in his bed to yours. It feels empty and cold now that you know what it’s like waking up to him.
“Sure,” you agree, stealing a kiss before rising from your seat. “Come on, we should let the others eat.”
Jungkook nods, cleaning up as best as he can before you’re leading him back to the club. You whisper something to Taehyung, and soon he and Namjoon are heading up the stairs.
You get back into the swing of things, flirting and selling drinks until the last call is made and you’re shutting down for the night. Jungkook finds you after he’s done cleaning up, lacing his fingers with yours.
“Ready, baby?”
“Come on, let’s get you home,” you whisper, placing a kiss on his cheek before you lead him toward the back door. Jungkook doesn’t need to be told twice, stumbling over his thick boots in his eagerness to get you home.
Tumblr media
Wednesday
A groan escapes you when you wake up. You do your best to cling to your sleep, but unfortunately, once you’re up, you’re up.
A heavy weight rests on your waist and it takes you a moment to realize it’s Jungkook’s arm. He snuggles into you further, sighing when your fingers card through his inky locks. His hair is shaggy, and his black shirt has risen and shows his abs and boxers.
Normally he’d sleep shirtless, but after your shared shower and sleepy fumbling, he got a shirt for you and a matching one for himself. He’d smiled as he took photos of you before bed, sleeping soundly not even a minute after putting his phone down.
With a lot of convincing, Jungkook finally gets out of bed. You head to his kitchen to start the coffee, a yawn escaping you.
It’s only a few minutes later that Jungkook joins you, his hands in fists as he rubs away his sleepiness.
“So tired,” he groans as he takes a seat on the stool by the island.
“Last night was so busy,” you huff as you get your favorite creamer out of his fridge and then his. You smile to yourself as the coffee aroma fills the kitchen.
You never really thought your friends-with-benefits relationship would evolve into this. Sleepy mornings with a mug of coffee, bedhead, and coy smiles. You could get used to this.
Tumblr media
Nope, you take it back.
Jungkook grins devilishly as he does another pull-up. Your eyes are glued to him, thighs pressed together as he continues his reps.
You’ve been unable to contain yourself, nearly dipping your hand between your legs every time he grunts and curses. When he took his shirt off, you nearly jumped him.
Jungkook chuckles. He’d been eager to get a workout in before his shift. He was tired of seeing his setup used as a coat rack, clothes draped over it instead of being put away in its proper place.
“Seven,” Jungkook counts with a grunt that makes your legs tremble. You bite your bottom lip, biting back a moan as he continues, and before he can get to ten, you’re tugging on his pants.
“Come on,” you say as he gets down, only to be led to the shower, where your moans of pleasure fill the room.
It continues in the bedroom, your knees digging into the floor until he stuffs two pillows under them to make you comfortable. His hand cups your face as he looks down at you, your bright eyes making his heart skip a beat.
Your hand wraps around his length, nearly drooling as you wrap your lips around the head just to hear Jungkook’s whiny tone. He curses, tongue toying with his lip ring as you tease him with your tongue.
“Fuck,” he breathes, his tattooed hand gripping a handful of your hair. You moan around him, eyes locked with his as you breathe in through your nose and take him further into your mouth. He feels heavy on your tongue, the fat head of his cock nearly choking you when he hits the back of your throat. Your hand wraps around the rest of his dick and you slowly bob up and down, drooling as you do so.
Jungkook hisses when you suck, your hand pumping up and down in rhythm with your mouth. You pull away, gasping for breath as Jungkook wipes the corner of your mouth with a smug smile.
“Let me fuck that pretty mouth of yours, baby. You look so hot with a cock in your mouth. Just a little cockhungry whore for me, huh?”
You nod eagerly, sticking your tongue out for him as he wraps his hand around himself. He smirks down at you, his cock slapping on your tongue.
A moan rewards his action, so he repeats it. Another moan escapes you as he slides his cock back into your wet mouth, grunting when you suck on the head, tongue teasing his slit for a moment before he’s gripping your hair tighter.
Jungkook lets you do your thing for a moment before he’s guiding you onto his cock by your hair. You relax your jaw, making sure you remember to breathe through your nose as he hits the back of your throat.
You gag once, your eyes watering as he checks up on you, but you wave him off. Your hands rest on his thighs as he fucks your mouth. He’s very vocal, cursing and groaning, moaning your name every time you deep-throat him.
“Baby,” Jungkook grunts, his eyes squeezed shut. It’s the only warning you get before he’s cumming in your mouth. You swallow, sucking him dry before rising to your feet.
Jungkook is panting, a tiny bashful smile on his lips.
“Sorry.”
You stick your tongue out for him and he curses. His hand wraps around your throat, squeezing the sides gently as he kisses you. His tongue meets yours, sucking your tongue until you moan.
The kiss ends, and you yawn. Jungkook kisses your nose and tugs you onto the bed.
“Do you want to cum, or sleep?” he asks as he strokes your hip.
You’re about to answer, but another loud yawn escapes you. Jungkook chuckles, kissing your forehead as he pulls you to him.
“Sleep it is.”
Yawning, you curl up to Jungkook. He drapes an arm around your waist as he falls asleep, lulled by your soft breathing.
Tumblr media
Groaning, you shut your alarm off when it goes off a few hours later. You peel the covers off you and then Jungkook’s arms. He groans in his sleep but quickly settles as you go to the bathroom to shower and get ready for work.
Fifteen minutes later, Jungkook’s alarm goes off as you’re doing your makeup. You smile when he curses as he gets out of bed, peeking into the bedroom when you hear a thump.
“I’m okay,” he calls when he meets your gaze as he untangles himself from the sheets. He cards a hand through his messy hair and sighs heavily. Jungkook pads over to the bathroom, kissing your cheek before stripping to take a quick shower.
You giggle as you finish your makeup, listening to Jungkook singing in the shower. You stay to listen to his rendition of your favorite song before heading to the kitchen to make a quick snack for the two of you.
When Jungkook joins you, his hair is still wet. He shakes it like a dog, smiling when you squeal.
“Kook!” you laugh in disbelief.
He smiles cutely, wrapping his arms around your waist as he steals a bite of your sandwich. He chews and swallows, asking for another bite before he’s satisfied enough to make his own.
After your snack and a quick make-out session, the two of you head off to work.
Tumblr media
Music thumped as the club came to life. You’d been taking orders and preparing drinks alongside Jungkook and Hoseok all night.
You hadn’t had a moment to breathe, much less take a break. It was probably due to Jungkook’s earlier shenanigans, you’re sure.
Yoongi had bought a shot, handing it to you to do a body shot off Jungkook’s abs. Who were you to deny your boss, especially when Jungkook gave you a look that made you wet in seconds?
Jungkook lifted his shirt, and the clubbers got a good view of his abs as you placed a lime wedge between his lips, and poured a bit of salt around his navel and the tequila in his belly button. You took your time sucking the tequila out, then running your tongue over the salt.
Jungkook had to resist the urge to get hard. He didn’t want anyone to see, just you. He nearly lost it when you took the lime wedge, your lips brushing his the tiniest bit to not be accidental.
Your little show ended up with others ordering shots. Jungkook allowed a few of them to do body shots off him for higher tips. He’d split them with you at closing.
The money was nice, and you managed to ignore the brief bout of jealousy that bubbled deep in your tummy. This was a job and nothing more. What you and Jungkook had was stronger and solid.
During a lull, Hoseok comes up to you and Jungkook. “All right, break time.”
“Both of us?” you asked to confirm.
Hoseok nods. “Yoongi’s up there if I need help and I’m training Tae.”
You nod, leaving the bar to head up the stairs. Jungkook waited a moment before following, ignoring the arched brow directed at him by his boss.
Grinning, you waited for Jungkook to join you in the break room. He immediately crossed the room, his hands on your hips.
All night, the two of you have struggled to keep your hands to yourself. You blame it on the new relationship buzz, but honestly, Jungkook’s just that hot (and so are you).
From him lightly touching your waist to get by you, to bumping into your hip with his as he reaches for a bottle, and whispering promises of things you’ll get up to later tonight that made your body tingle.
“You’ve been nothing but a tease,” you huff as you tug on his belt that accentuates his already tiny waist.
“Have I?” He asks in a deep tone, his eyes dark as night.
“You have,” you whisper as your eyes flick to his lips, then back. “You really have.”
“I hadn’t noticed,” he smirks, teasing you.
You roll your eyes at him playfully and his hand wraps around your throat as you’re pressed to the wall.
“Or maybe I did it to get you just like this, baby?” He chuckles. “Maybe I wanted to see how wet I could get you from some light touches and a few filthy words.”
“Jungkook,” his name escapes you breathlessly, and he silences you with his lips. His hands cup your face, moaning when you grab his ass in those tight jeans that drive you insane.
“No time for a quickie,” he grunts as you palm him over his jeans. He sounds remorseful, but you giggle.
“We have tomorrow,” you remind him as he kisses a trail down to your neck, sucking and biting on the sensitive flesh as your hands weave in his hair, tugging at the roots just to hear the guttural way he moans your name.
Jungkook hikes your skirt upward, letting it bunch at your hips as he pushes your black panties to the side. He groans when his fingers feel how wet you are. Your inner thighs are smooth with arousal.
“Fuck, how long have you been like this?” He asks with a hooded gaze.
“Since the body shot,” you answer honestly, a little out of breath.
Jungkook curses again, his fingers dipping in between your folds to soak his fingers and rub them on your clit. His lips find their home on the column of your throat.
You arch your back, hands digging into his shirt as he nips and sucks on your neck. His fingers slide into you, curling in just the way you like.
You know you won’t last long, thighs already trembling as he moans your name repeatedly. You wish you could fuck him. How easy would it be to bend over the table and have him do it, but footsteps startle you?
Jungkook smirks, his hand covering your mouth to silence you. His dark eyes are locked on yours, a sinful look on his face.
“Hey, Kook?” Namjoon’s voice comes from down the hall, not too far from the break room. “Hoseok said he needs help!”
“Going!” Jungkook calls back as he keeps his intense gaze on yours, his tongue toying with his lip ring as he rubs your clit and fucks your cunt faster. You clench around his fingers, moans muffled by his large hand as you finally cum.
You cry out, legs wobbling as he holds you up, praising you for being a good girl. He kisses your forehead and moves his hand off your mouth.
With a devious grin, he puts his fingers in his mouth, sucking your essence off them before helping you fix your panties and skirt. He pats your ass for good measure and you ignore the heat that rises in your cheeks as you struggle to walk to the sink to wash your hands and place a cool hand on each of your cheeks.
Jungkook giggles as he washes his hands, drying them quickly. He kisses your lips once for good measure and lets you go back to the bar first.
“I’ll be there in a minute,” he calls. You laugh when you see he’s still hard, apologizing as you go out the door.
The moment you appear behind the bar, Hoseok sighs in relief. He sends Taehyung to the back and you give Jimin a curious look.
Jungkook stands behind you, his fingers brushing your elbow to let you know he’s there.
“Why is your shirt off?” You ask Jimin, turning your head to the side as Hoseok takes another order. Jungkook moves to do so as well, still close enough to hear the blonde man’s answer.
“It got busy and Hoseok needed a distraction,” Jimin explains as he puts his shirt back on. A sigh of disappointment goes through the crowd.
Jimin smirks. “I did a few body shots until you got back.”
Jungkook cackles, shaking his head as he smiles brightly at a customer, thanking them when they place a tip in the stuffed jar.
“Thanks for helping, Jimin,” you thank him, pulling him into a quick side hug before he goes back to his job securing the club.
Jungkook and you stay busy until close. You’re both tired as you wipe down the counters and organize the cups for tomorrow.
“Let’s head out,” Yoongi demands, knowing the staff would stay until everything was done. But it was late and there was nothing that couldn’t wait til tomorrow. You were glad you would have the day off and you were pretty sure you would spend it with Jungkook at his place.
“Come on, baby. Let’s go home.” Jungkook wraps his arm around your shoulder to lead you out to his SUV. You climb into it, smiling.
You were happy to go home.

Second Chance Soulmate Pt.2
Season of Love Event
Tumblr media
Start here:
Summary: George debates the wisdom of getting into another relationship
Warnings: a few curse words
~•~
"When are you planning to ask her out?" Fred asked, rummaging through a mountain of paperwork.
"What??" George snapped up from his own pile. "Who??"
"Y/N," his twin rolled his eyes. "The bookshop girl."
"What makes you think I want to ask her out?"
"Oh, I dunno," Fred answered with an absent-minded air. "Could be because you're over there every chance you get... "
"Mira loves the place," George interrupted. "She'd probably live there if I let her."
"Perfect! Mira already likes her. So, that's one hurdle you don't have to worry about."
"I. Said." George reiterated, enunciating each syllable. "THE. PLACE. Not the owner."
"Don't give me that crap," Fred huffed. You know as well as I do, Mira talks about her all the time. I'm surprised she hasn't talked your remaining ear off." Fred argued.
George leveled his eyes at his twin. "Just get to the point."
"Oh, I am, Georgie boy," Fred grinned. "You're avoiding reality. That's the point."
"Oh?" His brother leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. "And what reality would that be?"
"That Mira likes Y/N. A lot. And so do you."
George's shoulder sagged, and he heaved a heavy sigh. "So what if I do? I've already fucked up one relationship. I'm not about to give a repeat performance."
Fred scoffed. "As I recall, you weren't the only one in that marriage. It takes two to tango, you know."
"Doesn't mean I wasn't a bad dancer," George mumbled and bowed his head back over his paperwork, completely ignoring his twins exaggerated sighs and eyerolls.
~•~
One month after the divorce
"I don't know what to do," Carlee sighed. "I've tried everything, but nothing works."
George looked down at his daughter, who lay curled up on his lap. "She eats fine when she's here," he glanced up at his ex-wife, then back down to Mira. "Why won't you eat for mummy?"
Mira shook her head and buried her face in his chest.
"Can she stay with you?" Carlee blurted out. "Just for a while... until she's eating properly again."
George didn't hesitate. "Yeah. Of course. She can stay as long as she likes."
Mira looked up and beamed at her dad.
~•~
"As long as she likes" turned out to be two years, and counting with Mira spending every other weekend with her mom, though it was supposed to be the other way around. That's what they'd agreed upon in the divorce. George thought it'd be best. A child should be with their mother. That's what everyone says anyway.
But Mira had other ideas.
He knew it hurt Carlee that Mira chose him over her. And, honestly, he was never really sure why. Whenever he asked her about it, Mira would only say, "You're my favorite. But don't tell mummy." It was a phrase that put him on cloud nine every time he thought about it. And he wasn't going to question it, lest his daughter think too hard on the matter and change her mind.
~•~
Present day
George sighed and poured himself a hefty shot of whiskey, wishing his daughter was here right now. Of all the days for Fred to zero in on his brother's sad single status, he had to pick today. Though, knowing his twin, the timing was probably strategically planned. George had just dropped Mira off at her mother's for the weekend, a long weekend, no less. Carlee was taking her to visit family, and they wouldn't return until Tuesday.
"Damn it, Fred," he muttered. "You knew exactly what you were doing today, didn't you?"
~•~
After downing the first shot, George poured himself another and headed upstairs. Kneeling next to his bed, he pulled out the box that held a few mementos from his marriage, including a photo album. He hadn't thought about it in months. But, tonight, with his twin's words haunting his mind, the past came rushing back. He took a heavy swig of whiskey and cracked it open.
Except for a few photos with only her and Mira, Carlee had left behind all their pictures. "I have what I want," she'd told him. "I don't care what you do with the rest."
For the first few months, he couldn't bear to look at them. But as time went on, it became easier, and eventually, George began the long process of sorting through them, saving his favorites in this photo album. The rest he burned in a fiery Unbonding ritual.
George's fingers traced over their smiling faces. It was all there, his and Carlee's time together. From beginning to end.
Their very first picture as a couple, taken in the Gryffindor Common Room.
Standing in front of the joke shop on the day of the grand opening.
Sitting with Fred as he recovered in the hospital after the war.
Dancing at their wedding.
Making funny faces on their honeymoon.
Both of them smiling, misty-eyed as they held Mira for the first time.
And so many other moments in between.
George sighed and took another swig. Once upon a time, they were happy and so very much in love. Then, bit by bit, over the years, it all crumbled into dust.
He turned the final page and smiled wistfully at the last picture. It was taken on their last vacation as a family. He and Carlee stood on the beach, smiling, standing side by side, their arms around each other's waist as Carlee held a giggly and squirmy Mira. They looked like the perfect little family.
A little over a year later, his world fell apart.
~•~
"You should burn every photo that doesn't have Mira in it," Fred had argued the night before the burning ritual. "Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll never truly let Carlee go."
George, of course, ignored his twin's suggestion, reasoning that he should at least keep some for Mira. Carlee was still her mother, after all. He shook his head and chuckled at the memory, then closed the album and slipped it back in its box under the bed. Fred was annoyingly right about a lot of things. But that was not one of them.
He did let go of Carlee. And though it had been a long, painful process, George's heart no longer ached for her. He no longer dreamed of a reunion. Even now, looking at those pictures, he didn't miss his ex-wife, so much as he missed having a partner.
Y/N suddenly flooded his thoughts, and he couldn't hold back the smile that spread across his face. Everything about that woman sent him flying over the moon. The way she always lit up whenever he and Mira came into the store. The way her hand would brush his when she showed them the newest books. The way she would always make a point to stop and chat with him whenever they saw each other on the street.
And her laughter.
He knew all her laughs. From her delighted giggles when reading to Mira, to her unrestrained belly-laughs when he told her one of his stupid jokes, to the occasional snort that sent an adorable bright pink blush blossoming across her cheeks.
Dear Merlin, he could so easily fall head-over-heels in love with her.
If he wasn't already...
George's heart clenched painfully, and his knees wobbled beneath him. For a moment, he couldn't breathe. He couldn't think. How could his stupid heart go off and fall in love without him noticing? He wasn't ready. Not yet. What if he and Y/N got together and it didn't work out? No one needed to tell him that love doesn't always last forever. He'd experienced it firsthand.
Even so, he was tired of being alone and lonely. Mira helped. Of course she did. But she could never fill the gaping hole in his heart that yearned for the love of a partner. Despite what he told himself, George so desperately to be happy and in love again. And he had no doubt that he and Y/N would be happy together.
But for how long?
That was the question.
Two years? Five years? Ten? Twenty? His parents' neighbors, once regarded as "perfect for each other," recently divorced after 21 years and three kids.
George collapsed back onto the bed, suddenly bone-weary and soul-sick. The future terrified him. Too many possibilities. Too many what-ifs. It damn near destroyed him when he and Carlee split. Another heartbreak like that might end him once and for all.

You were finally settling into your new job and your new life in town. Your schedule was all figured out, and to get to know the area a little better, each day, you had started going somewhere different over lunch, driving down the mountain and into the quaint little town.
After a hectic morning, coffee seemed like just the thing to lift your spirits, so you set up your navigation to a little mom and pop shop on Main Street, cruising there with the windows down to soak up the sun and the breeze. Town was beautiful and surprisingly empty today, so it caught you by surprise when you were pulling into the parking lot and saw a khaki smear coming out of your blind spot. You stood on the brakes as soon as the tall figure took a step in front of your vehicle. A man in…were those…ranger shorts and a hat?….slammed his hands down on the hood of your car. It was him again.
You leaned your head out through the window. “You trying to make a habit of me almost hitting you? I thought you were a bear….again. Seriously, you’d think I’m out here trying to take out the nation’s wildlife if it wasn’t you walking out in front of my car every time.”
He let out a sigh as he hung his head in relief, his heart still beating fast at the near-death experience, and made his way over to your window. As you pulled yourself back in the car, he rested his elbows at the bottom of your window and leaned forward.
“I really am sorry. I’m not sure why that keeps happening. My head was kinda in the clouds.” He grimaced slightly and let out an awkward laugh.
You wanted so badly to be angry with him, but his genuine response, paired with his eyes that reflected the sky had you melting. “I-I’m not sure if I accept your apology yet.” You said then bit your lip, caught up between your slight frustration with the stranger, yet your want to believe anything he said. “You’re gonna make a reputation for me around here as ‘that girl who almost flattened the mountain ranger…twice.’”
He let out a genuine laugh. “I promise your secret’s safe with me and it won’t happen again. And I’m sure I can think of a couple people who wouldn’t be too bothered by that.”
You let out a giggle at his joke, it wasn’t too often people who looked like that had a good sense of humor to pair. The two of you sat there awkwardly for a second before you spoke up. “Well I, uh, kinda need to park, I’m on my lunch hour and was planning on getting a bite to eat.”
“Oh yeah, of course.” He pulled away from your window, walking a few paces behind the vehicle as you pulled into a spot. “You know, there’s a nice little coffee shop around the corner. I’d love to make up that whole ‘not paying attention’ thing to you. Lunch on me?”
You pulled your keys out of the ignition, stepping out and looking up at his towering form. Maybe he really was a bear. “I suppose, as long as this isn’t your way of secretly trying to lure me as bait for the mountain lions as a revenge plan.”
“Ah, no, that’s only on Tuesdays.” He shrugged.
“Today…is Tuesday….” You looked at him with mild concern as he smirked at you.
“Well, I guess you’re just gonna have to trust me. I’m Ari.” He held out his hand and you introduced yourself. He nodded at you and his eyes sparkled when your hand met his. His hand was callused, but warm and comforting, almost embracing yours. “Alright, let’s get to it, you said you’ve only got an hour?”
You nodded as his hand made its way to the small of your back and he guided you along the sidewalk into the shop.
Tumblr media
You laughed as you sat there stirring your second drink: the free refill the shop offered if you sat and stuck around. Ari had just finished telling you about the time his pants had snagged on a tree when he was miles away from any sort of refuge or spare clothing, leaving his cheeks in the breeze until he could run the two miles back to the cabin to change. Your face began to grow red, you could feel it. You knew you’d never be able to get the thought of his ass in those ranger shorts out of your head, or better yet, out of those ranger shorts.
He spoke through his own hearty laughter. “Yeah, learned that one the hard way. From then on, I vowed to always keep at least two sets of backup clothing in the truck, and in my duffel if I’ve got to respond to a call.”
You laughed and stirred your drink again before taking another sip, while something stirred deep in Ari’s core. He was staring at you so intently and hung onto every word you said. Part of you wished he’d keep those pretty blue eyes to himself, while another part of you wanted to lean closer and fall into them.
Over the period of your conversation, the two of you had somehow shifted closer to each other. Everything was just flowing so well.
“I can relate to that too easily. It was probably three months into me getting my SUV I’ve got parked out there and I was visiting my mom. On the drive over, it was sunny with clear skies, so I had the windows down and sunroof open when I parked it in her driveway.”
Ari giggled. The gruff tree of a man in front of you giggled and you couldn’t help your gaze that dropped to his pink lips. “I can already see where this is going.”
You snapped yourself back, laughing distractedly. “Oh yeah, as soon as I got in there and convinced myself I had definitely closed the sunroof, the sky opened up. When I left after dinner, I was greeted by soaked seats and full cup holders.”
Ari’s jaw dropped. “Yeah, yeah, that’s not even the best part. Besides the fact that I had to sit in a soaked seat on the way home, when I took the first big turn on the drive, water started leaking out of the overhead lights. You know the ones up by the rear view mirror? I don’t even know how it got in there!”
Ari was snorting at your story. Your genuine nature charmed him and he appreciated how you were able to laugh with him over silly mistakes. He noticed how long it had been since he’d taken this much joy in human interaction, heck, he realized it’s been so long since he’s really interacted with another person, period. The bartender and the other rangers didn’t count. Ari’s eyes continued to roam your features as you passionately told your story, a reminiscent smile on your face. A lace of humor that could retrospectively cover the embarrassing moment.
“Ever since then, I’ve carried at least three towels in the trunk. And also a change of clothes, just like you. It took all night for me to dry out the seats my garage. Had to open all the doors and run a box fan.”
Ari laughed and shook his head. “Well, cheers to learning from mistakes and always being prepared.”
You nodded, eyebrows raised in agreement, as you raised your coffee cup to meet his. “Amen to that. I knew you were a ranger for a reason. And I’ve been told I was a boy scout in another life.”
The two of you sipped your drinks and laughed together. You were surprised how a conversation as mundane as this could be so entertaining. Seriously, who took up twenty minutes just to note how prepared they were by keeping spares of everything possible on their person?
Wait. Twenty minutes on that one subject? And you’d discussed several before? What time was it!?
You checked your watch and your eyes got wide. You’d been sitting here with Ari for two hours. “Oh my gosh. I didn’t even realize how much time has passed! I really have to go and get back to my actual life. I should’ve been gone an hour ago!”
You frantically started gathering your things.
Ari stood from his chair, causing it to skid against the floor, watching you pack up and unsure what to do. “Wait, can I see you again sometime?”
“That’d be great but I don’t have time to exchange numbers.” You debated chugging the rest of your coffee, opting for the smarter decision of just carrying it back with you.
“There’s a bar two blocks down from here. Share a drink with me Friday night?”
“Perfect.” You threw over your shoulder as you rushed out the door and back down the sidewalk.
You didn’t have it in your to tell a guy like him ‘no’ to a request as simple as that. Ari looked like the kind of guy who would just love and leave, but his behavior said otherwise. Through your entire time together, he only ever indicated that he cared about you. His eyes never left yours, he asked you questions about the stories you told him. But was it too good to be true? Maybe you should just save yourself the trouble you thought as you got back into your car.
No. You’d played with fire like this before, but this time, for some reason, you didn’t fear you’d get burned.
Tumblr media
Ari flopped back down in his chair after you left. He should probably get back to the ranger station soon, but he needed time to gather his thoughts.
He was finally relearning himself, and he had no plans on adding someone else back into the equation. Was it too soon?
He wanted to let you in, let you uproot his life from the inside. But he didn’t think it’d be wrecked. It would be rebuilt, regrown like the flower buds on the trees in spring. Everything about you seemed to shine so bright, like the rays from the sun he loved to watch filter through the leaves and hit the forest floor. Even through the clouds, his and your own that you both seemed to carry, something was glowing and warming up, he could feel them dissipating.
This feeling, the whole day and time with you, it felt like a movie he’s seen, but he didn’t believe it could be true. For a second, a tinge of doubt crept into Ari’s mind. What if it didn’t work out? What if this put him back where he started? Alone in that bar drinking doubles. He was quick to push it away, though. That heartache belonged to somebody else. Someone he never wanted to know again.

Monday
You held the paper up in your hands, your eyes glued to the headline reading "Entrepreneur Figueroa Arrested for Trafficking Women Through Hell's Kitchen." Your name was in the byline next to an image of a disgruntled Figureroa being seated into the back of a police car, his hands in cuffs behind his back. A small smile slid across your mouth.
A hand on your shoulder caused you to jump in surprise, your head turning to spot Katy beside you. She was grinning and eyeing today's issue of The Bulletin in your hands.
"Good job," she said. "You outed that asshole."
You were really wishing you could have thanked Matt as Daredevil for uncovering the incriminating evidence in the article. He was the one who had truly made this possible. But he refused to let you even so much as hint at his assistance in the article.
"You should go celebrate with your man tonight, if you know what I mean," Katy suggested, waggling her eyebrows at you.
You rolled your eyes, setting the newspaper onto your desk. "You are way too invested in me sleeping with my boyfriend than is healthy," you pointed out.
"Well I can't sleep with him," she said, scooping a spoonful of yogurt into her mouth. "Someone needs to make sure he's being properly maintained."
" Katy ," you hissed, eyes darting around the office.
"What?" she asked innocently.
"We're at work," you whispered harshly. "You can't be saying stuff like that."
"No one cares," she said with a shrug, pointing her spoon at Sabrina a few cubicles over. "She slept with some guy at a bar the other night. Told me the details about it over coffee this morning. And Michael," she continued, pointing her spoon at him as he worked on his computer, oblivious to Katy calling him out, "had a pretty eventful last Thursday night. Did you know that he–"
"Oh my God, please stop," you cut her off, holding up a hand and blushing. "We are not having sex tonight, I got my damn period yesterday morning."
And like hell if you were going to be anywhere near Matt this week while you were bleeding. With his heightened senses? No . He didn't need to be aware of…all of that.
Though the thought of having to avoid him for a week every single month sounded awful and exhausting.
"You know," Katy said, pointing her yogurt spoon at you, "if you fuck in the shower there's not much mess."
" Katy !" you hissed again.
"What?" she asked with a shrug. "Just giving you some friendly, womanly advice. Period sex is pretty great."
You threw a hand over your face, shaking your head as your cheeks burned. At least you had seen Matt Saturday night, just before you'd gotten cursed this week. And Matt had told you he was working late on a case tonight because he had court this week, so you didn't need to try too hard to avoid him today like you had yesterday.
Small mercies.
Tuesday
Setting your hair brush back onto your dresser, you frowned at yourself in the mirror. One hand reached down and tugged at the too-tight waistband of your dress pants. Period bloat fucking sucked.
With a sigh you turned towards your bed, slipping on the blazer over your blouse, hoping it helped cover some of the water retention of your stomach. You frowned, glancing down at your abdomen that was twisting with uncomfortable cramps. If only you could stay home from work and curl up on your couch with a heating pad. Why weren't you allotted period days along with sick days?
The sound of your phone ringing on the dresser caught your attention. Heading towards it, you saw Matt's name across the screen. You groaned softly. Normally you loved seeing his name displayed across the screen of your phone whenever he called or texted, but right now you were overly aware of the tampon and thin pad you were wearing.
"Hey, Matt," you answered the call hesitantly.
"Hey, sweetheart," Matt's cheerful voice came through the line. "I was actually up early this morning and was about to head out and pick up coffee before stopping past the office and heading to the courthouse. I was wondering if you'd like to meet up for a few minutes to grab coffee with me?" he asked, sounding hopeful. "I've missed you since Saturday."
His sweet admission had your heart sinking to your bedroom floor. Why were you cursed with a menstrual cycle and a handsome boyfriend who's sense of smell exceeded that of a German shepherd's?
"I uh, I actually woke up late," you lied, cringing but grateful he couldn't hear your heartbeat over the phone to tell you'd lied. It's not like he'd believe you had a dentist appointment after your first date. "I'm probably going to be sprinting to the office at this rate."
"Oh," he answered softly. "Okay, well, I'll probably be having another late night at the office for this case, but I still want to celebrate with you. For your article on Figueroa. Foggy and I pulled some strings with the DA to fast track his case."
"That's great!" you said. "I can't wait for that asshole to go to prison."
"Me too, sweetheart," he said with a chuckle. "But I'll let you finish getting ready, I don't want to hold you up further. But I do want to celebrate with you this week," he reminded you.
"Yeah, okay," you answered nervously. "Good luck in court today. Send my luck to Foggy and Karen, too."
"Thanks," he said. "I'll call you later tonight, okay? We can at least chat a bit."
"Sounds good, Matty," you replied.
You both hung up and you groaned loudly. Eyes dropping down to your abdomen, you frowned again.
"So I'm real grateful you didn’t try to make a baby after the mind-blowing sex the other week," you muttered to your uterus, "but like, fuck you for real."
Wednesday
Staring at your computer monitor, your eyes zeroed in on the half-finished sentence, drumming your fingers on your desk. You'd been struggling through figuring out how to word the article you were working on for the next issue of The Bulletin for the past hour. You needed a break.
Eyes darting down to the corner of your monitor, you noticed it was about time for your lunch break. Maybe that would help.
You sat back in your chair, sliding it back a bit from your desk and running your hands through your hair in frustration. Katy leaned back in the cubicle beside you. One of her hands rose to her head, making it into a gun and pretending to shoot herself in the head with it. You giggled, nodding in solidarity. She was apparently struggling on her piece, too.
Your phone began ringing on your desk, the noise catching your attention. Sliding your chair back into your little cubicle you were surprised to see Matt's name on the screen. He had court today, why was he calling?
"What's up, Matt?" you asked curiously when you answered.
"Hey, so apparently we are breaking a bit early for a two hour lunch today," Matt said. "You want to join Foggy, Karen, and I for lunch at that diner near your office?"
You absolutely fucking did. That greasy grilled cheese and fries sounded really damn good right about now.
But you were still on your period. Which in turn meant you were still trying to avoid Matt–and it was feeling shittier and shittier each time you did.
Closing your eyes and rubbing a hand over your forehead, you internally screamed.
"Actually I'm pushing to get this article done before the deadline this evening. Struggling with writer's block," you told him, not entirely lying. Though lunch with all of them would have been a helpful and welcome distraction.
"Okay, well would you like me to grab you something and bring it by?" he asked slowly. "I know how much you love their grilled cheese."
Damn this perfect, thoughtful man for being so perfect and thoughtful.
“I already ordered something,” you blurted quickly, wincing as the lie left you. “A few minutes ago,” you added with a cringe. “Otherwise I’d have loved to take you up on the offer, Matty.”
He cleared his throat on the line and you frowned. Maybe you should just tell him why you were avoiding him this week? Though the thought of actually saying the words, “Hey, Matt, I’m on my period and bleeding from my lady parts this week, don’t want your bloodhound nose getting a whiff of my bloody tampon so I’ll see you next week” had you wanting to crawl under your desk and die.
“Alright…” he said, voice trailing off. “I guess I’ll…maybe see you tomorrow?”
“Yeah, definitely,” you said in a rush. “I’m sure we’ll figure it out tomorrow.”
“Okay, I guess I’ll…talk to you tomorrow then, sweetheart,” he replied, his tone sounding a little unsure. “Good luck finishing your article.”
“Thanks, Matt,” you said. “Good luck finishing up that court case.”
After you both hung up, you screamed into your hands and then opened up your Door Dash app, ordering the grilled cheese you’d rather have sat down and eaten with your friends.
Thursday
Sitting on your couch, legs crossed on the cushions, you shoveled the fettuccine noodles into your mouth. As a contestant on the episode of Nailed It that you were currently binging on Netflix revealed their cupcake, you lost it on the couch, snorting into your hand and trying not to choke on your mouthful of pasta. The warm bowl resting against your abdomen currently felt like heaven for the cramps that had continued throughout this torturous and terrible week.
You were hoping that by Saturday night your period would have tapered out enough that you could maybe risk seeing Matt. In a public setting. Maybe in an Indian restaurant where the strong and wonderful scent of curry might help mask the scent of period blood.
So far today you’d yet to hear from Matt other than a few texts telling you their court case was finishing up soon, which had been about a little over an hour ago. You’d carried on making dinner despite the awkward feeling in your gut telling you that you were drastically messing things up.
As you scooped more noodles into your mouth, your phone began ringing on the coffee table. Your eyes immediately darted down to it and then they widened when you saw it was Karen calling you. Curiously, you reached over and grabbed your phone, quickly chewing the mouthful of noodles and pausing the show before answering.
“Hey Karen,” you greeted her cautiously, eyes narrowed and suspicious.
She said your name excitedly in greeting, your suspicion only increasing.
“So we just got out of the courtroom and we won!” Karen exclaimed.
“That’s great!” you replied. “I know you’ve all been stressing over this case for the past couple of weeks.”
“Yeah,” she agreed. “And we were all going to hit up Josie’s tonight to celebrate. And celebrate you and Daredevil getting Figueroa locked up.”
“Oh,” you answered softly.
“So you are avoiding Matt,” Karen stated flatly at your response. “What the hell is up with that?”
“What?” you countered quickly. “I’m–I’m not avoiding him.”
“Relax,” Karen said. “I’m at the office, Matt was finishing up something at the courthouse. I’m far enough away from his bat ears that he can’t eavesdrop on this call. I told him I’d invite you while he finished up with Foggy, but he seemed to think it was futile to try. You want to tell me why he’d say that?”
“I’m on my period,” you blurted.
There was a long silence over the line after your admission.
“Okay?” Karen asked. “And?”
“And that’s it,” you said. “I’m on my period. And Matt has his super senses so, you know, I’m avoiding him.”
“No,” Karen countered, “you have your anxious brain overthinking a situation that doesn’t need to be overthought. Do you plan to avoid him every month for an entire week?”
“I haven’t thought that far ahead,” you admitted sheepishly.
Karen sighed, the sound long and drawn out. “Do you have any idea how many times I’ve had my period around Matt at the office? Or Marci when she’s been around him? Or, hell, I’m sure in the over a year you’ve been friends with him, you’ve had your period before.”
“Sure, true,” you agreed. “But now I’m dating him. Spending time alone with him.”
“You’re being ridiculous,” Karen pointed out.
“Maybe,” you answered.
“So I take it you’re not going to come out tonight?” she asked. “Marci is even coming out.”
“Just…tell Matt I said congrats on the win,” you told her. “Tell him I wasn’t feeling great and went to bed early.”
Karen sighed again, the sound making your heart sink. “You know he’s been bummed all week not seeing you, right? He thinks he did something wrong.”
That hurt to hear.
“Tell him I’ll talk to him tomorrow,” you said softly.
After you’d hung up with Karen and resumed the show, you no longer found it as amusing as you had a few minutes ago. A sinking feeling felt like it was settling in your gut now, right next to the obnoxious cramps and uncomfortable bloat, as you lamely pushed the noodles around in your bowl.
Friday
Sprawled out on your couch, your legs thrown over the backrest as your hands held the heating pad to your abdomen, you zoned out to an episode of Gilmore Girls. You’d gotten back from a busy day at The Bulletin tonight and quickly changed out of your dress pants, feeling like your bloated stomach was going to explode if you remained in them any longer. You’d instead replaced them with a pair of unflattering but insanely comfortable sweatpants and an oversized tee-shirt before collapsing onto your couch. You figured you’d worry about dinner in a little bit.
This afternoon you had actually been busy with work, but you’d managed to talk to Matt for a bit during your lunch break. He didn’t push when you’d told him you were too busy to meet up and eat together, but he did seem oddly more cheerful than he had the past couple of days when you’d been blowing him off. And while you’d been happy about that, you were suspicious. But as the day had picked up, you’d been too busy to give it much thought, and by the time you’d gotten back home, you were just glad this week was finally over.
You were so comfortable and focused on the television that you at first didn’t realize someone was knocking on your apartment door. But a moment later someone knocked again and you nearly jumped out of your skin on the couch. Who would be at your door right now?
Hesitantly you paused the show, setting the remote onto the coffee table and reluctantly removing the heating pad from your aching, cramp-ridden body. Rising to your feet, you made your way to the door of your apartment, pausing long enough to glance through the peephole. The moment you saw Matt’s face covered by his dark glasses you jumped back, eyes going wide. There was absolutely no way to avoid him now. A moment later he called your name through the door and you internally cursed. He obviously would know you were standing right there.
Slowly you unlocked the door, sliding it open a bit and hiding halfway behind it, as if somehow that piece of wood would block his senses from your body.
“Hey, Matt,” you said nervously.
Immediately he raised a hand up towards you and you noticed the bag he was holding.
“I brought dinner,” Matt said with a smile. “Tacos from that Taco truck we both like.”
“Matt, I–”
“You’re on your period,” Matt cut you off, your eyes widening in absolute mortification. “Karen told me last night. Said that’s why you’ve been avoiding me and my super senses this week.”
“Oh my fucking God ,” you groaned, forehead slamming to the front door you were still clinging to. “What the hell happened to girl code?” you complained against the wood.
“Well considering I thought I’d done something wrong and ruined things with you,” Matt said, his tone softer than usual which caught your attention, “I’m glad she said something. I honestly thought that you were…thinking this whole thing was a mistake between us.”
“ What ?” you asked, jaw dropping.
He shrugged from his place still just outside of your apartment. “I have a tendency to destroy the good things in my life,” he answered quietly.
Your heart felt like it had fallen onto the floor.
“Shit, no, Matt,” you said, pulling the door open all the way. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel like that. I was just…” your voice trailed off, trying to search for a reasonable explanation for the way your brain stupidly worked sometimes.
“Overthinking?” Matt supplied.
“Yeah,” you admitted sheepishly. “I’m sorry. I was really shitty to you this week.”
“I mean it wasn’t great,” he said. “But I get it, knowing how you are and all. Though, sweetheart, you can always talk to me. About anything.”
You shot Matt a pointed look as you asked flatly, “I just spent most of the week avoiding you, do you honestly think I’d straight up tell you I was on my period?”
He cracked a little smile in response. “I suppose not, but for the future–and future periods–you can always talk to me. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable and I certainly don’t want you avoiding me for a week again.”
Your gaze awkwardly dropped down to your feet, chewing the inside of your cheek nervously.
“You’re still uncomfortable aren’t you?” he asked. When you nodded he said your name softly before continuing. “I honestly don’t care. I’ve learned to ignore most bodily functions, they barely register with me unless something actually sounds off. You’ve had your period around me many times before–”
“Not helping,” you cut in.
“–and so have many other women,” he continued, grinning at your interruption. “It doesn’t bother me. At all. What does bother me is my girlfriend feeling like shit and not letting me help make her feel better. So…can I come in now?” He raised his other hand, your eyes darting down to the movement. “I brought you chocolate, too. Mint, because you’re insane and I know you like it so much.”
Throwing the door open wide, you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around his waist, burying your face into his dress shirt. Matt chuckled, awkwardly trying to hug you back with his hands full.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, pulling back and grabbing the items from his hands. “Come in, I’ll try to stop being an idiot.”
“You’re not an idiot,” he said softly, closing and locking your apartment door behind himself and resting his cane against the wall. “But I hope you stop worrying about that now. Because I don’t want you to hibernate on me next month. Not unless I get to join in on the hibernation.”
You couldn’t fight the smile on your face as you set the bag of food onto your coffee table. “You’re too good to me, Matty,” you mumbled.
“Naw,” he said, shooting you a wink as he took his dark glasses off. “There’s no such thing when it comes to you.”
“You…want a beer?” you asked, blushing lightly as he made his way towards your couch.
“Sure, sweetheart,” he answered.
You headed into the kitchen, grabbing two beers from your fridge and opening them. When you turned and headed back to the living room, you paused, taking in the sight of Matt on your couch, pulling to-go containers out of the bag and setting them along the coffee table. His tie was a little undone and the sleeves on his white dress shirt were rolled up to his forearms as they usually were by the time he’d reached the end of the day. Eventually he stopped what he was doing, his gaze landing near you across the room as his head tilted to the side. A little smile spread on his mouth.
“What’re you doing?” he asked curiously.
Blushing further at being caught staring, you couldn’t fight back the smile curling your own lips upwards. “I like seeing you on my couch,” you admitted softly. “Like you belong here.”
His smile grew a bit more and you watched as he placed the container in his hand onto the coffee table before he moved it beside himself, patting the couch cushion lightly.
“And I think you belong next to me,” he said. “So come over here, sweetheart.”
You bit your lip, still smiling as you crossed the distance and sat down beside Matt. He accepted the beer you handed to him and swiftly held it up.
“To getting Figueroa arrested,” Matt said.
“Cheers to that,” you said, lightly tapping your bottle to Matt’s.
You took a drink before getting comfortable on the couch, reaching out and setting your beer on the coffee table. “Thank you for bringing me dinner, by the way,” you told him.
His shoulder bumped yours lightly. “I told you I was going to celebrate with you this week,” he said. “And after dinner, we can cuddle up on your couch with that heating pad. I can give you a backrub and you can continue watching your girly show where they talk way too fast, but I request that you narrate a bit. Because I enjoy listening to you narrate shows.”
You turned, eyeing Matt beside you as he opened one of the to-go containers. As he picked up a taco, your hand reached out and gently pinched his leg through his dress pants. Matt abruptly paused, the taco hovering in his hands above the coffee table as his gaze briefly dropped down to where you’d pinched him and then slowly shifted towards you. One of his brows raised as he fought back a smile.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“Just making sure you actually exist,” you told him. “Because I feel like my mind did an exceptional job making you up.”
Matt instantly cracked up, losing his composure. “Now that was a terrible line, sweetheart,” he teased.
“Not a line,” you corrected him quickly, raising a finger. “A genuine fear. Pretty sure you’re just going to disappear one of these days into thin air. And I’ll just be like ‘yeah, I knew he was too good to be real’.”
He leant over towards you, planting a kiss to your cheek. His mouth was beside your ear a moment later, his voice drawing goosebumps over your arms.
“I’m not planning to disappear on you, sweetheart,” he whispered. “I like you too much.”
Your heart may have slammed a little too hard into your chest at his words.

it only took me four days
Tumblr media
day one
he approached you when you weren’t looking. you setting up for class, pulling out your laptop, copy of the assigned reading, and a pen when he took the open seat next to you. “so about the tutoring thing,” he started, but you promptly cut him off. “which i said no to.”
mark nods, taking a deep breath. “right. i thought we could talk about that, maybe come to a compromise? i’m a business major, so i’m great at negotiating,” he said. you opened your mouth, pretending to be shocked and interested in his words.
“sorry, but i’m not much of a negotiator. besides, i have a really busy schedule. there’s just no time,” you explained. mark was about to argue, but the professor started talking about the reading. he sighed, accepting defeat for today.
day two
he caught you studying in the library. you were sitting at a table, alone, with your laptop, open textbook, headphones in, and pen in between your lips. there was an extra seat, and nobody was sitting there, so he took that as an opportunity. he slid into the open spot, not saying a word, just admiring you for a minute.
if you hadn’t looked up at your computer, he would have remained unnoticed. “jeez! do you always sneak up on girls?” you asked, pulling out your headphones. “only the ones who reject me,” he answered, a teasing smile on his face. you rolled your eyes at his response, ignoring him. mark sighed, knocking his knuckles on the table. “look, i’m sorry. but i really need your help,” he explained, sincerity in his words.
“i understand that, but i don’t have the time. have you gone to the study group sessions?” you replied, pausing your notetaking to meet his eyes. “i have practice when they meet,” he answered, which he quickly realized was the wrong answer.
you rolled your eyes at his words. “right. well i have a life and it doesn’t involve tutoring you,” you snapped, putting your headphones back in.
day three
“how about monday?” “can’t. i have a late class.” “tuesday?” “work at the cafe.” “wednesday?” “also at the cafe.” “thursday?” “my book club meets.” “that has to be fake!” mark shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at you.
“there’s nothing fake about it. my book club meets every thursday, from five to seven in one of those rooms on the student union,” you replied. mark smirks, “what room?” you scoff at his words, “like i’d tell you.” “see! it’s fake! you don’t even know what room you meet in!” he shouted. “no! i’m not telling you because i know you’ll show up,” you answered.
day four
“estapa!” you shouted, walking towards him and his friends in the hallway. he stops talking with them, and three pairs of eyes are focused solely on you. “tomorrow morning, nine o’clock, on the second floor of the library. don’t be late,” you announced, poking his chest with your finger as you met his eyes.
“i won’t,” he promised. “and bring your shit. it’s gonna take a lot of work for you to pass this class,” you finished, stepping away from him and his group of friends.

genre: minor angst, fluff, college au

author's notes: i tried to keep the reader gender neutral, so apologies if some parts are a bit confusing. Also, thank you for 300 followers !! you guys are the reason why i can never escape my delusions (affectionate) <3
Tumblr media
“Y/N, get up, we’re going to be late.”
The incessant knocking at the door of your apartment pulled you out of your slumber, your eyelids peeling open slowly as you blinked at the door, your lips pouted slightly as you tried to collect all functioning braincells to gather.
“Y/N, I know you’re awake.” You sat straight up when you recognized the voice of Minghao. Groggily, you rubbed the sleep from your eyes as you walked towards your door, pulling it open to find Minghao already fully dressed for class today.
“Good morning,” he grinned, eyeing you from your disheveled hair, to your bare feet. “We’re going to be late.”
You groaned, rolling your eyes before showing the time on your phone screen to your friend. 08:52. “Class doesn’t start until eleven-thirty.” You expected Minghao would be flustered because you looked past through his empty threat, but instead, the man in front of you scoffed, as if expecting your reaction.
“You promised we’d get breakfast together.’
“I did?” You queried, stilling.
“Yeah, we reserved a table earlier in the week and we have to be there before nine-thirty.” Oh yeah, you thought, guilt rushing to heat the apples of your cheeks before you wordlessly turned on your heels and grabbed a towel by your door, entering your bathroom. Minghao’s laughter didn’t go unnoticed as you closed the door with a slam.
“What were you doing last night? You don’t usually wake up this late in the day even if your class was in the afternoon,” Minghao asked when you were done showering, and dressed.
“What do you think?” You countered, pulling on a jacket since the weather was getting colder by the hour. “Are you done with Park’s assignment?” Minghao only shook his head. “I wanted to do little-by-little but last night, I had a sudden boost in motivation and am now three-quarters done with it.”
He gave you a look, as if shocked that you were able to do so much in one night, especially for an assignment that isn’t due until next week. “So, you were up until what time?”
“Two,” you answered a sigh. Grabbing your wallet and phone, you stuffed the items into your bag before slinging over your shoulder, “I’m ready, let’s go.” With a satisfied grin, Minghao pushed himself off of your couch before you followed him towards his car, the scent of his cologne wafting in the air as he walked past you. You tried to ignore how the sweet, citrus scent tugged at your heart, by shaking your head.
A little back story of how you and Minghao became friends? Well, he likes you. A lot. He even had the guts to confess his feelings for you, but once again, you decided against having a relationship with him. With anyone really.
You could vividly remember when he confessed to liking you in a romantic way. How nonchalant he spoke as the two of you sat beside one another at the local café you both frequent after classes, how after he spoke the five words; “I really like you, Y/N”, he simply took a sip of the jasmine tea he ordered, not realizing how you were staring at him as if you were a deer caught in headlights. A confession was not your Tuesday afternoon bingo, especially not from Minghao.
Nonetheless, he was understanding when you told him you weren't looking to be in a relationship any time soon. He was respectful, and for some reason, you hated that. You hated how he understood, told you that he wanted the weight off his chest, and continued his day as if nothing happened. You tried to do the same, you really did. You kept talking to him that day like you usually do—complaining about your professors, and how your next door neighbor has the worst sleep schedule on earth. You thought you were able to stay neutral with the situation after Minghao’s confession.
Unfortunately, your brain kept telling you no to having a normal friendship with Minghao. A little voice in the back of your head kept echoing throughout your thoughts how having feelings involved in a friendship is just a recipe for disaster.
So, you did the best thing you could do. You avoided Minghao. However, your efforts were fruitless, Minghao was a persistant guy—not in the way that he’d force you to be in relationship with him, but in the way that if you showcase obvious signs that you’re trying to pull away, he’d at least want you to explain. He’s not the type to leave things undone, especially with someone he obviously cares for.
He looked for you—from classes to your apartment, hoping to finally catch you so the both of you could talk things through. You meant a lot to Minghao, and he didn’t want his uncontrollable feelings to get in the way of a potential friendship that could last if you both tried. College was a tough journey, and having to deal with it alone is a one-way ticket to insanity.
When he finally caught you off guard at your apartment, you caved and let him in, explaining the best you could as to why you distanced yourself from it. You weren’t sure whether you’d be able to have a friendship with him, knowing well enough that by keeping him by your side as simply a friend would hurt him somehow because you couldn’t reciprocate his feelings. You expressed to him that you weren’t looking to have any romantic relationship, joking about how you were dating your major because of how much time and energy you’re already placing onto it.
Minghao, as always, understood. He wouldn’t have stayed by your side if he didn’t understand that feelings are out of our own control.
You smiled at him when he reached out, wrapping his arms around you as he hugged you tight, reassuring you that he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and that you can’t get rid of him. Not until you both held your diplomas, but he was sure even after that, he’d want to stay in contact with you. You were one of the few people he genuinely enjoyed being around, and you could say the same to him.
Thus, it only took time until the inevitable happened.
Either, you were to start liking him, or he starts unliking you.
“I think it’s happened already but you’re too in denial to realize it,” Jieqiong once told you after you explained about your situation with Minghao. She’s a good friend to you, but you knew she couldn’t be how Minghao is to you. She’s always been supportive of your friendship with him, and although you tell her the possibilities of you and Minghao dating was slim, she lowkey thought you two look good together.
“What?” You asked, glancing back from where you were laying down in her room.
“What you said—either, he’s already stopped liking you or you’re beginning to like him, Y/N,” she points out, and proceeded to ask about an assignment in one of your shared classes, the topic immediately changed.
Her words echoed throughout your head. You hated how easily it had become something you were worried about—if you didn’t care about Minghao that way, why would you worry if his feelings began to fade? If you didn’t see him as more than a friend, why did the thought of having romantic feelings towards him cause an immense fear within you?
Minghao noticed your lack of focus when you were both in class and you barely registered anything the professor had explained, panic enveloping you as a test was announced to take place next meeting.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” He asked while packing his things, noticing you frantically flip through the pages of your binder, trying to find any notes you had mindlessly written down. You found none.
You sent him a weak smile, “Barely got any sleep last night finishing up Park’s assignment, I didn’t focus today.” It wasn’t entirely a lie, since you did finish up the assignment but you didn’t get enough sleep because of the assignment, it was all Jieqiong’s words that kept you up.
“You can borrow my notes, you know?” He offered and you smiled gratefully. “By the way, Y/N—” you turned to him, throwing the strap of your bag over your shoulder, your attention towards your friend. “Mingyu and Seokmin are planning to go to a bar tomorrow night, do you want to join so we can carpool together?”
A night out felt like something you need, and alcohol might be a good idea to let your nerves loose for one evening.
“Are you drinking?” Minghao shook his head, answering, “D-and-D.” Designated driver.
You only nodded, “I’d like that.”
Little did you know the night would’ve ended in a dark blur, and you woke up in your bed, a raging headache stirring you awake as the memories of last night began to flood into your head.
“I like you, too, Minghao, I’ve liked you for a while, but I wasn’t sure how to tell you.” The words echoed throughout your head as you groaned, massaging your aching temples as you could envision yourself hanging onto Minghao’s shoulders as he helped you into his car, deciding that you had enough last night.
“I like you, too, Minghao.”
Fuck, did you really confess your feelings to him under the influence? The blood completely drained from your face, your heart racing as you hoped to whatever entity was out there that you were dreaming—that those words were uttered in your dream and not in reality. You hoped—you prayed that you didn’t just screw up your friendship with the one and only guy you truly cared for in your life, that you didn’t just mess everything up because you allowed yourself to fall for him. You can’t like him, what if he doesn’t like you anymore? What will you do when he slowly starts pulling away, like you did when he first confessed? And what if this time, you don’t chase after him and allow him to leave, just like every other unrequited crush?
You never perceived yourself as a selfish person, but with Minghao, you didn’t want him to leave you.
A knock broke you from your spiral into despair, but when you heard the familiar voice, cold nerves rushed through your veins. “Y/N, are you awake?”
Begrudgingly, you stood up and stalked towards your door, looking through the peephole and seeing Minghao dressed in a hoodie, something in a plastic bag in his hand as the other was stuffed into his pocket, waiting for you to open the door. You took repeated deep breaths, hoping it'll calm your racing heart, but to no avail.
“Hey,” you greeted weakly as you pulled your door open enough to show your face, but give the message that you didn't intend to have him come in.
“Hey, how's your head?” Gosh, can he please not care for once? It's making things harder.
“Hurts, but I'll manage.” Your eyes glanced at the plastic bag by his side. “What's that?”
“I stole hangover soup from Mingyu’s fridge, you'll just need to warm it up in the microwave or stove.” He reached out, waiting for you to take it from his hand. You only stared at it with a hard look, chewing mindlessly on your inner lip. Minghao notices your conflicted expression, his arm slowly returning back to his side. “Are you okay, Y/N?”
You didn't look up. You started blankly at the floor as you uttered, “Forget what I said last night, Hao.”
There was a pregnant pause.
“You remember?”
“Just… forget anything happened, anything I said.” The heavy sigh that left his lip caused you to look up at him, finding an irritated look etched across his face.
He closed his eyes briefly, a crease appearing between his knitted brows as he reaches up at pinched the bridge of his nose. You're doing it again, he couldn't help but think.
“You expect me to forget, Y/N? You expect me to act like you didn't just admit to liking me, when all this time, I still like you as well?” He asked you, almost dumbfounded that you had the audacity to ask him to do such a thing. “Why?”
“Because…” Don't say it, don't— “Because I regret it, Hao. I regret telling you that.”
“Bullshit.” His harsh tone caused you to wince, closing your eyes briefly to avoid the glare he sent you. “You're doing it again, Y/N. You're running away.”
“I'm not—” You exhaled heavily. “I'm not running away, I'm telling you—”
“You're lying to me, Y/N! To yourself, most of all.” You clenched your jaw. You shouldn't have answered the door, you should've acted like you were still asleep. “Let me in, so we can talk about this.”
“There's nothing for us to talk about—”
“Talking about what happened last night is better than either of us acting like it never happened,” he interjected, “at least then, we'd know what we think about it—what I think about because right now, Y/N, you're making all decisions.”
Knowing that he won't back down, with a sigh, you stepped to the side, and Minghao stepped in after taking his shoes off. Without saying a word, you poured the hangover soup into a bowl and placed it in the microwave, and pressed the reheat setting.
“What do you remember from last night?” He leaned against your counter, arms crossed over his chest as he started at you from the across the room.
“I remember everything up until my sixth shot, and everything after that was blurry, but I know that I confessed to you in the car after you helped me in,” you explained, fidgeting with your fingers and avoiding his sharp gaze. “After that I fell asleep… I think.”
He was silent for a moment, eyes locked on the number counting down on the screen of your microwave.
“You forgot one thing,” he said after a while. You cocked your head to side in confusion, waiting for him to tell you. “I asked you something after your confession. Do you remember?”
You racked through the memories of last night, most of which were lost in a drunken haze. You can't remember—the most significant part of last night besides Mingyu doing the robot on the bar counter, was your confession.
You shook your head, and Minghao nodded, understanding. “I asked you why you didn't tell me sooner because you said you've liked me for a while. Do you know what you said?”
Again, you shook your head.
“You said you were scared. You didn't say why because as you said, you fell asleep before I could get more answers.” You froze upon hearing that. You seriously need to rethink choosing drinking as a stress reliever.
Your eyes then widened as you watched him take a step forward, eyes locked with yours. “So, Y/N, tell me—” He was now in front of you “—why are you scared of loving?”
You stared at his deep brown eyes; his gaze was not accusing you of being incapable of love. It was full of sincerity, genuine curiosity, trying to break the wall you've so clearly built all these years, to protect something—and Minghao wanted to know what that something was. What he knew was that whatever it was, it was preventing you from allowing yourself to explore more.
“A lot,” you said, your words barely above a whisper and you weren't sure if he heard, but when his eyes softened, you knew he did. “I'm… I'm scared that by allowing myself to… to love and be loved, that I'm allowing myself to be vulnerable to heartbreak and disappointment, that I'm willing to put myself at risk of emotional turmoil—to get hurt… And, I don't know if I'll be able to get through that alone.”
Your words processed through Minghao’s head, before he sighed softly, and pulled you into him, his hand rubbing reassuringly on your back. The familiar warmth that naturally radiated from him wrapped itself around you, and your arms lifted, returning his hug as you closed you eyes, breathing in his sweet cologne.
The ding of the microwave broke the atmosphere, and Minghao sent you a sheepish smile before retrieving the bowl and gesturing for you to sit. He watched you silently as you took sips of the broth, sighing in content as the flavors danced on your taste buds, the headache fading with each spoonful.
He still hasn't said anything, you noted, and you were almost finished.
“You're not going to say anything?” You finally asked, only the broth left in your bowl.
“I was waiting for you to finish eating first.” You only nodded, pushing the bowl away from you, and then leaned back, staring at him as you waited for him to respond to what you said earlier.
“You wouldn't be alone, Y/N,” he started, drawing random doodles with his fingertip on the surface of the table. “The thing about relationships is that you're not alone. You can talk to me about anything, whatever is going on, all your worries—communication is key in keeping a relationship strong,” he explained,
“Can I guarantee that you'll never experience heartbreak or disappointment? No, I can't, but allowing yourself to be vulnerable to face them is a part of the journey, to allow yourself to grow from those low points, and being in a relationship, it just means you won't face them alone.
“The thing is, there can be a dark cloud hovering over us on a sunny day, but even within that dark cloud, there's a silver lining—bad things are going to happen anyway, but they're never permanent, there will always be a solution and you'll always make it through.” He reaches out placing his hand over yours. “Relationships will make sure you're never alone facing them.”
“I know that… it's just, I'm not sure if I'd be able to commit to one when all I can focus on right now is this stupid fegree
“Take things slow, Y/N, I'm not forcing you to jump right into one,” he reassured, his thumb absentmindedly rubbing the skin of your hand.
You returned his smile, eyes glancing affectionately at his hand atop yours before a light chuckle escaped your lips.
“What?”
“It's just… you're the first guy I've ever liked that likes me back,” you told him, locking eyes. “Kind of the reason why I'm so scared of relationships—I never want to have one if the feelings aren't mutual.”
“So, you've never been in a relationship before?” You shook your head and Minghao smiled fondly, enveloping your hand with his, the warmth from his palm radiating onto yours.
“Thank you, Y/N, it's an honour.”

Eddie growled in disgust, burying one hand in his hair and pulling as he savagely dragged his pen over the complete failure of a set list, hiding his frustrations under a thick layer of dark black ink. When that wasn’t enough to satisfy the angry beast in his chest, he ripped the page out of his notebook entirely, balling it up and throwing it across the clearing, leaving behind a jagged ripped up strip of paper that stuck out, awkward and grating on his nerves.
The second the paper hit the ground Eddie felt the anger begin to leak out of him, leaving behind a hollow place at the bottom of his stomach, and the beginnings of a headache behind his eyes.
Wayne had once told him that his anger was like a summer squall- it started as just a few drops, picked up in intensity until it was everywhere, whirled around like a tornado for a few moments, and then disappeared just as quickly as it had come.
His uncle had said it like a good thing, as if Eddie’s inability to hold onto anger said something about him. What it said, Eddie wasn’t exactly sure, all he knew was right now he kind of wished he could stay angry for just a little while longer.
With a short quiet sigh, Eddie hauled himself up, walking to the other side of the clearing and grabbing the crumpled up paper, tossing it idly to himself as he walked back towards the picnic table, his mind fuzzy and distracted as he thought about everything that had happened today to cause this little meltdown.
It wasn’t like today was the worst day he had ever gone through, but it was still pretty frickin bad. The transmission on his van was starting to go out for like the fiftieth time this month alone, stupid Mrs. Clickity-Clack had accused him of cheating just because he wrote a good essay, and the cafeteria had served up Tuna Surprise for lunch. All things that would sour his mood on their own, but the worst thing had happened just as the final bell rang.
On the extremely short walk from their lockers to the parking lot, some freshman basketball idiots who weren’t aware of the rules decided to try and cause problems for Gareth. As a rule the jocks knew to stay all bark and no bite when it came to Hellfire, or they would have to drive all the way to Plainfield to buy their weed, but apparently Carver and his cronies hadn’t initiated these two dumbasses yet. Eddie had been forced to step in just as the principal walked by and of course Higgins took their side.
Of course.
After a lengthy and frankly ridiculous speech about Eddie needing to apply himself, Higgins had sighed and handed over a detention slip. All of that would have been just another Tuesday, but the underhanded comment he had made as Eddie stormed out of his office was the thing that had really twisted the knife.
It’s pointless to try and get you to be a normal boy, Mr. Munson. No matter what I do, you’ll always be your father’s son.
“My father’s son,” Eddie scoffed, bitterness flooding his mouth and pouring from every pore, “Better Al Munson, than Charlie Higgins. As if I’d want to end up like that pompous, arrogant, small minded prick.”
A vicious delight spread through his body and Eddie chuckled to himself, taking a big step to stand on top of one of the benches, straightening himself up and turning his nose high in the air.
“Edward Munson, you simply must learn to apply yourself,” He said in an over the top British accent, staring down his nose at the invisible Eddie below, “I, Principal Charles Higgins, have told you time and time again that these… asinine hobbies of yours are only going to lead you astray. Be more normal! How else will you learn to be a perfect cog in the machine?”
“But- but- but- Mr. Higgins!” Eddie stammered out, jumping down and falling to one knee, clasping his hands and staring up into the trees, “I just want to play a game with my friends and sing in a band? What’s so wrong with that?”
Nothing. The answer was nothing. There was nothing wrong with who Eddie wanted to be, and that person sure as hell was not his father.
“Fuck that,” Eddie ground out, taking a running leap to the top of the picnic table and staring out in the trees, “You think you’re the first person to try and change me?! HA! Fuck Normal!”
The forest, as always, did not answer him back. Eddie was alone, nothing but the wind through the leaves and an aching longing to be understood gnawing away at his heart.
Alone.
Where the hell was Byers?!
Eddie was used to having to wait, because while he didn’t really care that everyone saw him stroll into the woods behind the football field every day to do deals, his clientele usually wanted a little more subtlety. But the longest it had ever taken someone to walk into the clearing was twenty minutes, and it had been at least a half hour.
He turned to face the direction of the school watching and waiting as if he would magically hear the sound of footsteps crashing through the woods in his direction.
Birds. Wind. Nothing to indicate a loner senior was slinking up to make a deal.
“Maybe he got detention,” He said to himself, the excuses coming out frail and thin as he plopped down in his seat again, fiddling with the handle of his lunch box of goodies, “Or his siblings needed something and he had to take care of that, or he picked up an extra shift or he just forgot.”
Or maybe…
Or maybe Jonathan actually wasn’t coming at all.
Eddie’s expression soured and his mouth thinned to a tight line as the thought began to take root and bloom into poisonous red flowers.
That had to be it. Harrington had been jerking his chain, coming up with some big story to get Eddie sitting out here on his ass for no good reason. His numbskull friends were probably keying his van right now, slashing the tires up, having a real good laugh at the freak.
And he really only had himself to blame. He knew that Harrington was no good, and he had let those kids make him think differently. Well, this is what happened. This is what he got for thinking people could change.
“Stupid jackass with his stupid hair and his stupid kids,” Eddie muttered in disgust, slamming the lid of his lunchbox closed and locking it with an equally harsh movement, “Gonna key his Beemer, slash his stupid perfect tires and wipe that stupid smug look off his stupid-”
“Are you okay?”
Eddie screamed.
Not a manly shocked yell or a little shout. He full on girl-in-a-horror-movie-about-to-get-eaten-by-a-werewolf shrieked. Jonathan let out his own scream, taking a few steps back and putting his hands out in front of him, staring at Eddie with wide eyes.
After a beat of silence Eddie broke out into giggles, leaning against the picnic table as he tried to pull himself back together.
“Guess I scared you?” Jonathan asked, his shoulders relaxing as a tiny smile graced his lips.
“Yeah, sorry,” Eddie said, still laughing. It was just too ridiculous. Him, Eddie Munson, getting scared by Byers of all people.
“And I thought I was the one who was gonna be nervous,” Jonathan replied, jamming his hands into his pockets and hiking his shoulders up. A classic awkward Jonathan Byers move that settled out any last bad feelings Eddie was having.
He didn’t know Jonathan, not beyond sharing a few classes and the occasional stint in detention, but Will and Jane had become some of his favorite people in a short time, and they had given Eddie enough descriptions that he had a pretty good idea of who Jonathan was.
“No need to fret,” Eddie said, making a wide sweeping arc with one arm towards the picnic table, “Step into my office, taste my wares,”
Jonathan crept closer, each step taking much longer than it should have. It was like watching a stray dog walk towards a treat- hungry, but still unsure if the hand was going to feed or hurt.
“Thanks for this,” Jonathan said absentmindedly, looking around the clearing with his shoulders still tight around his ears.
“No need to thank me, this is a business transaction,” Eddie shot back, opening his lunchbox back up and getting into Professional Drug Dealer Mode.
Doing deals was part sales, part psychology. It was easier to get the job done if he made himself what the other person needed him to be. Some people wanted a buddy, someone to joke around with as they purchased their pills, others wanted not a word between them, the shame of needing an illegal substance to get through the day was too much to bear.
Eddie would bet that Jonathan, like most first-timers, would be easiest to work with if Eddie gave him the basic rundown of how this worked.
“Cash only, no receipts. You give me what I need, I give you what you need,” Eddie rattled off as Jonathan sat, pointing first at himself, and then at Byers and then smiling wide, “Everyone walks away happy.”
“It’s thirty, right?” Jonathan asked, pulling out his wallet.
“Fifteen,” Eddie corrected. Byers paused, raising a brow, and Eddie snorted, continuing to snicker as he explained.
“I charge Harrington asshole tax which usually means it’s thirty for a half ounce, and it’s twenty for everyone else,”
Eddie watched with a smirk as Jonathan mouthed the words ‘asshole tax’ to himself while shaking his head. He pulled a twenty out, handing it over and taking the five Eddie gave him in exchange.
“So why are you charging me fifteen?” Jonathan asked, obviously suspicious. It was almost cute, how hesitant he was. Eddie was instantly reminded of how Will had acted the first time they met. Another stray, but this one a puppy. On guard, but somehow willing to hear him out. He must’ve learned that from his brother.
“Cause you get the friends and family discount, Elder Byers. Besides, given how much weed Steve was buying from me I have a feeling you are going to become my number one customer soon,” Eddie said with jazz hands, holding out the baggie with a flourish.
This was where they ended. Jonathan would take his bag and go, Eddie would pack up, and they would part ways. They would not make eye contact in the hallways, and that suited Eddie just fine. It wasn’t like drug dealing was his ultimate career goal or anything. He did it to keep the lights in the trailer on and keep his uncle from working himself to an early grave, and he didn’t need to act like he was some big wheeler dealer that ran Hawkins.
Did he know pretty much everyone’s dirty secrets? Yeah, but that was just because Rick was back in prison and that meant Eddie was the only person in town you could get cocaine from. He didn’t have any power beyond charging some people more than others for their dickish tendencies. He played his part when he had to, and this was a moment where he had to.
Only…Jonathan was not playing his predestined role.
“What is that?” Jonathan asked, tilting his head ever so slightly as he stared at the full baggie with wide eyes.
“MJ?” Eddie said slowly, wondering if it was a hypothetical. Rather than lighting up in recognition, Jonathan’s brow furrowed even further, turning his eyes from the bag to Eddie.
“Mary Jane? Also known as grass, skunk, pot, dope, reefer, herb, and its Christian name of Cannabis Sativa.” Eddie continued, lowering his voice to a whisper and extending the baggie again, hoping that a little dramatic flair might get Byers to stop acting so damn weird.
Jonathan only looked even more hopelessly lost, and now Eddie was starting to get uncomfortable. It made absolutely zero sense for Jonathan to be acting so weird, and Eddie was only just now starting to remember that Jonathan’s mom had been doing some weird will they/won't they with Hopper for the last few years.
Was this some sort of ploy? Was Jonathan wearing a wire or some shit? Powell had tried to come around to put a stop to Eddie’s ‘business’. Eddie had sent him off with a laugh, seeing as half of Powell’s department were some of his top regulars, but the guy seemed desperate to prove that he could be just as good of a chief as Hop was.
Maybe he had somehow gotten Harrington and Byers to work with him to get Eddie arrested?
No. That made no sense. Eddie was being paranoid. Jonathan was just acting completely out of it for some normal reason that he couldn’t fathom.
Yeah. Because that made more sense.
Every instinct in Eddie was telling him to run, take his lunch box and book it and never even think about going near any of the Byers again.
But…
But he knew Will and he knew Jane, and he couldn’t ever see the big brother they described pulling a move like this. Threatening Eddie to stay away from his little siblings, sure, but not a snake move like trying to get him thrown in jail.
“It’s weed, Byers. Supposedly you’ve been smoking a shit ton of it since August.” Eddie said, taking the leap and hoping that he wasn’t about to get the silver bracelets slapped on his wrists.
“Oh! Um, Steve just always gives me cigarettes,” Jonathan mumbled, blushing and looking down at the picnic table.
Not a sting then. Just a delightfully naive Jonathan Byers.
“Did you just call a joint a cigarette?” Eddie asked, biting the inside of his lip as the nerves washed away. The mirth that Eddie couldn’t completely hide in his tone only made Jonathan shrink even more, so Eddie forced himself to sober up.
A guy like Jonathan would not take being laughed at well. Eddie was sure of that much.
“I don’t do pre-rolls, sorry. But for an extra fiver, I’ll give you rolling papers or a shitty bong I have in the back of my car,” Eddie offered, having to keep from laughing as he thought about Jonathan trying to figure out how to use a bong on his own. Given how clueless he seemed to be, there was a very likely chance that Jonathan would end up burning himself more than the weed.
“Maybe we should just forget it then,” Jonathan murmured, already sliding his body back away from Eddie and the weed.
Normally, Eddie wouldn’t care. Baggie back in the lunchbox, whatever, see you next tuesday. He wasn’t a charity, and this wasn’t a favor between friends. He was a businessman first and foremost.
But Steve’s words were echoing in his mind, combining with Jonathan’s kicked puppy dog demeanor to form a deadly weapon against Eddie’s far too vulnerable emotions.
“Curse my bleeding heart.” Eddie groaned, unsure of when he had become such a softie, “Fine, I’ll show you how to roll, but I’m taking that extra five for doing this for you,”
Jonathan sighed in relief, immediately handing back Eddie’s five dollars and giving him a soft grateful smile that almost made the extra work worth the trouble. An unexpected stab shot through Eddie’s chest because of that little smile, and he pushed it down far where it couldn’t bother him, rooting around in his box for the things he needed and making himself look more busy than he was.
“You better be watching closely, Byers, I’m not doing this for you next time,” Eddie warned, wagging a finger at Jonathan as he pulled out the supplies he would need. Luckily for the other boy, Eddie always carried rolling papers on him.
Truthfully, Eddie didn’t mind rolling joints. He didn’t want to become a housewife to the idiots on the basketball team who couldn’t be bothered to do their own dirty work, but that wasn’t what was happening here. Besides, rolling a joint had a meditative joy to it in some ways. Like painting a mini-figure or designing a tattoo, there was a calm delight in the act of creating something small but special.
“Am I allowed to thank you for this?” Jonathan asked with his normal amount of dry wit.
“Well, flattery works on me so yeah, you can thank me,” Eddie replied, looking up briefly from the paper he was lying flat and wagging his eyebrows before getting back to the task at hand, “And you can answer my questions.”
“I thought I was paying you an extra five dollars,” Jonathan countered, sitting back and crossing his arms.
“Five dollars,” Eddie agreed, placing the filter and crumbling the dried flower between his thumb and forefinger oh so carefully, ensuring that the line of marijuana was perfectly equal all across the paper, “And answers. I get paid in knowledge first, dear Elder Byers.”
“What exactly do you want to know?” Jonathan asked, his expression carefully blank.
“When did Harrington introduce you to our dear Aunt Mary?” Eddie asked, holding up the bag just so he didn’t confuse Jonathan again.
“Oh Steve didn’t- I mean I knew he knew you so I asked him to buy for me, but he’s not like my- we’re not-” Jonathan stammered, his ears turning red as he tried to flounder for an explanation.
“Easy Byers. I didn’t think you turned our precious little King queer,” Eddie laughed, carefully tucking one side of the papers underneath the line.
That was the way Rick had taught him many many years ago. Filter, flower, tuck it into bed, and then you roll. Apparently it was just like swaddling a baby.
“You know you can just call me Jonathan, right?” Byers pointed out, still fiddling with his fingers.
“Alright then, Jonathan,” Eddie agreed, slowly saying the other boy’s name, letting the word acquaint itself with his mouth and feeling it out. It felt good, at least it felt more right than his last name. “I guess I’m just a little confused as to why you and Harrington are suddenly best buddies. Last I heard that little girlfriend of yours skipped straight from his arms to yours.”
Wrong thing to mention. It was like Eddie could feel the misstep, almost able to hear the broken twig that had alerted his prey to his presence, and now they were both on alert.
“That was complicated,” Jonathan immediately snapped before blowing all of his breath out in one big gust, placing his palms flat on the picnic table and letting his eyes slip shut, “But Nancy and I broke up anyways so…”
Jonathan and Nancy had broken up a little less than a month ago. They had done their best to have a very low-key break up, not even telling their siblings at the start, all in an effort to make sure that it didn’t become gossip for everyone to chew on.
So naturally the entire school knew by the end of that first week.
“Oh wow I uh I didn’t-” Eddie tried, cutting his little charade off when Jonathan shot him a look and readjusting his approach.
“I knew. Like five different people told me,” Eddie admitted, licking the stripe of the glue and sealing the first joint, setting it aside before he realized Jonathan was still staring at him. “Sorry, by the way. I bet that wasn’t easy?”
“It’s fine. We’re better off as friends,” Jonathan shrugged, acting far too casual for a guy who had just broken up with a girl that he had been dating for over a year. A girl that, by all accounts, he had very much loved.
A girl he still spent all of his time with.
“What happened?”
“We just weren’t right for each other,” Jonathan answered, obviously toeing the party line.
That was the reason Eddie had heard over and over from Will and Mike and Jane- that they just weren’t right for each other. There was a mountain of rumors that had cropped up from the Hawkins High Gossip Mongers, of course. People who thought she had left him to go back to Steve, some who assumed Nancy had cheated again with someone new, one person was convinced it was because the college she wanted to attend didn’t allow boyfriends, even a few wild loonies who thought that they had had ended it because of an unplanned pregnancy.
But, rather than offer up any of those rumors as explanations, Eddie hummed and waited, watching Jonathan and wondering how long it would take him to break.
Not very long it turned out.
“She doesn’t have to worry about anything, you know?” Jonathan said after only half a minute of patient waiting.
Bingo.
Eddie hummed again, readying the next joint as Jonathan slid out of his seat to pace around the clearing and rant.
“Everything always works out exactly like she wants it to. Everything! She doesn’t have to think about the things I think about. She doesn’t have to worry about the bills, or her brother, or anything except for what she wants. And anytime I reminded her that I have to worry about more than myself, she acted like I wanted her to feel sorry for me, when that was never what I wanted. Ever.”
Whatever Eddie had expected, it certainly wasn’t that. He wasn’t sure he had ever heard Jonathan talk so much in one sitting, but he wasn’t going to interrupt the other boy. It was obvious that Jonathan hadn’t really talked to anyone about this yet, and he definitely needed to get it off of his chest.
Eddie was being given something precious here, and even though he didn’t really understand why, he wasn’t going to ruin it.
“And when she finally ended it, it was just this huge…relief. Like I could finally stop pretending to be something I wasn’t.” Jonathan concluded, his shoulders loosening as he tipped his head back towards the treetops for a second before turning towards Eddie, a challenge in his eyes.
“That’s a lot,” Eddie said, immediately wincing at how dumb that statement was, “I mean… maybe you could use some extra space from her?”
“Extra space?” Jonathan asked, walking back towards the table.
“Come sit with us at lunch instead of eating with her in the- um- newspaper dungeon,” Eddie blurted out, the offer escaping his mouth before he had even really thought about it. Once he had said it though, it didn’t sound like a bad idea, “I mean, your brother and his friends already do and-”
“No thanks,” Jonathan said, immediately cutting Eddie off as he sat back down.
He wanted to pretend it didn’t, but it hurt.
Eddie was very very used to rejection, but it always cut him down to the quick anyway. He knew how the world saw him. Trailer park trash, metal head, satanist, drug dealing, Eddie Munson. He wasn’t a person to them, not really. They didn’t care about trying to figure out who he was beyond what they expected.
Eddie had stupidly assumed Jonathan to be different. After that entire speech, he had thought Jonathan could understand.
“I just want to let Will have his own thing, you know?” Jonathan said, cutting Eddie’s thoughts right in half.
Oh.
This was about Will?
“He’s- it’s hard for him. With everything that happened, everyone has this idea of who he is too, and it’s been good for him to have Hellfire,” Jonathan continued, completely unaware of the circles Eddie’s head was spinning in, “You’ve been good for him.”
Eddie had been called a lot of things in his life, but the last person that had told him he was good was his mother. Even Wayne, for all the ways he built Eddie up, had never thought to call him good.
“And his friends are great- they’re amazing, actually- but it’s been really nice for him to have something…” Jonathan’s eyes darted around as he trailed off, looking for the right word. Then he stopped, laughing quietly and shaking his head.
“What?” Eddie asked, unable to keep himself from catching Jonathan’s smile.
“Normal,” Jonathan said, still chuckling, “You guys give him something normal.”
Normal?!
Eddie scoffed in disbelief, following Jonathan as they both laughed about the ridiculousness of Eddie being normal.
“I’m sorry. I really couldn’t think of a better word,” Jonathan tried to say when he finally put himself back together, “I know you have a uh- thing- about that one.”
Eddie’s cheeks immediately lit on fire as he took in the connotation of Jonathan’s words.
“Before when I was…did you…” Eddie asked, unable to say the words and hoping he was wrong. Unfortunately for him, Jonathan was already nodding, having the decency to at least look slightly contrite as he watched Eddie die of embarrassment.
“Yeah. The whole thing.” He admitted. Eddie let out a deranged sound, covering his face with his hands and tipping to the side, curling up on the bench and grumbling to himself in completely unintelligible words.
How fucking humiliating.
Eddie was the guy who gave huge speeches about conformity on the regular, jumping up on tables and making a spectacle of himself, but that was when he knew people were watching. He knew he was putting on a show, and that was fine. Having his own internal crisis shown off when he wasn’t expecting it was completely different, especially when it was to someone who didn’t know him all that well.
“Hey I get it. I mean, Higgins can be a total asshole,” Jonathan offered, trying to pull Eddie out of his shame spiral.
“Preachin’ to the choir,” Eddie muttered, hauling himself back up to a sitting position and avoiding making eye contact.
He would just finish rolling out this second joint and send Jonathan packing, regardless of the fact that he had barely used a quarter of the bag. The last thing he needed was someone mocking him for what he said when he thought he was alone.
“You’re right, though,” Jonathan said out of the blue, startling Eddie into raising his head, “You shouldn’t change. You’re fine the way you are,”
Huh.
“You think so?” Eddie asked softly, shocking himself with how genuine that question came out. He had never really considered himself a self conscious person, there was no way a boy like him would have survived in a place like Hawkins if he was, but the fleshy vulnerable parts of his heart had already been hurt today, and hearing someone else think he was just fine the way he was…
It was doing things Eddie hadn’t expected he would ever need.
“Yeah, I mean you’re not the same as everyone else, but everyone else sucks.” Jonathan shrugged, waving a hand back towards where the school was, “I mean you took Will and the guys in. And El too- oh shit. Jane, I mean. She says you guys are really nice to her and explain stuff, which I really appreciate. She’s…”
Jonathan didn’t say it, but Eddie already knew well enough what he was referring to.
“I know that our little mage is dealing with some hostility from her peers,” Eddie said, placing the second joint next to the first and grabbing another paper.
Eddie had no idea where Jane had come from, but it was obvious from even a minute long conversation that she was different. Sweet, so so sweet, but different in a way that would make high school almost an impossible task to accomplish. The boys flanked her like a protective detail, and her best friend was a firecracker that even Eddie wouldn’t want to cross, but they could only do so much.
“She’s been through worse,” Jonathan said vaguely, his brow furrowing as he thought about it, “I just wish it was easier for her, but she has Max and the rest of them so,”
“And Hellfire,” Eddie added. Jonathan looked up at him with a far too grateful smile.
“And Hellfire,” Jonathan repeated.
“So, I’m not the mean, scary, drug dealing, satanist you thought I’d be?” Eddie asked, wetting his lips before he sealed the third joint closed. The question had been mostly a joke, but Jonathan shook his head anyway.
“Not even a little bit.”
“That’s disappointing. I was kind of looking forward to scaring local creep, Jonathan Byers,” Eddie said, heaving a huge dramatic sigh, putting his elbows on the picnic table and plopping his face into his hands. Jonathan copied the motion, linking his fingers and resting his chin on top of them.
“I’ve gotta tell ya it’s a little hard to be scared of the guy that slipped on spaghetti sauce and wiped out in the middle of his latest speech on conformity and The Man,” Jonathan said, leaning forward and whispering the words in a way that sent an unexpected shiver down Eddie’s spine.
“Oh, fuck you,” Eddie laughed, leaning back and breaking the moment, a blush returning as he threw the baggie back in his lunchbox and shut it, holding out the twenty and the joints out to Jonathan, “Here, take your spoils and leave, weary traveler. My shop is closed.”
“But-”
“Don’t worry about it,” Eddie said, flapping one hand as he pressed the money and drugs into Jonathan’s hand, his heart humming in his chest in an unfamiliar way, “I only gave you three joints anyway, and you’ll be back on Friday anyway, right?”
Jonathan looked between the money and Eddie with suspicion for a moment, before it faded, leaving behind only a slight smile and something in his eyes that Eddie couldn’t quite identify.
“Friday it is,” Jonathan agreed, his voice going soft and warm as he held Eddie’s gaze for a moment longer before turning and getting up, disappearing just as silently as he had come, completely unaware of how he had just rocked Eddie’s world.
Eddie packed up without another word, escaping the clearing the second he could and rushing back to his van. He managed to get all the way through turning it on and driving out of the parking lot of the school before he realized that the five in his lunchbox was his own money, and he had just broken the cardinal rule of drug dealing.

julia, on a tuesday
"this was unexpected," annie said, rolling off of julia. she'd showed up at annie's apartment unannounced, wanting to fuck.
"i think i'm just," julia sighed. "you know, trying to sew my oats as responsibly as i can before marriage."
"do you think you and jim won't still want to fuck me after you're married?"
"i don't know," julia said. "i mean, at the very least i'd feel like he'd always have to be here. and that taking care of his dick would always be part of the equation."
"and you don't like that? i like taking care of his dick."
"no, I do, i just... i just wanted to come over here and make you cum and cum on you and not have anyone else be a part of it. i wanted to have you to myself."
"that's fucking hot," annie said.
"god, dr. lawrence really did make you into a monster, huh?"
she'd recently confessed to julia that she'd blown robbie twice, expecting julia to be horrified. she wasn't. "you two have that dynamic," she'd said.
julia told annie she'd sent nudes to jim's dad. annie asked to see them. they were fairly tame nudes -- a full frontal mirror shot, a closer pic of her ass. nice tan lines from her beach trip. it was the first thing he'd commented on. then he'd told her she was very sexy and his son was a lucky man. she told him it was reassuring how hot he was, she knew jim would age well. then she asked him if his cock still worked. he'd sent her a picture of his erection. "now i know what i'm giving you for father's day," she'd replied.
annie had immediately made the leap to their own fathers, and asked julia if she'd suck off her dad if he asked.
"if he asked?"
"yeah."
"why would he ask?"
"i don't know, he's really horny and his wife won't do it."
julia parents were divorced. unlike annie, she got along fine with her mother. her father was remarried to a woman ten years younger than julia's mom, who annie honestly thought looked a lot like julia's mother, and like julia.
"i don't know."
"like, it's not gross to you though, right?"
"no," julia said. "i mean, men really like getting their cocks sucked and it's not like i haven't very casually sucked strangers' cocks before."
"right," annie said. "if my dad asked me to i would do so immediately."
"well yeah, but you're very much a daddy's girl. he knows you'd suck his cock."
"you think so?"
"you make that very clear."
"huh," annie said. "you haven't answered my question."
"you would fuck your dad."
annie mused on this. "yeah," she said. she laughed.
"and i... yeah, i guess if my dad was like julia please help me out, i'm so hard up, just suck my cock a little, i'd do it."
"and if he wanted you to take off your shirt while you did?"
"well, that is just responsible, i don't want to get his cum on my clothes. honestly in your scenario i imagined myself naked."
annie's dad started calling on facetime, so annie answered. he took in the image of her and julia laying on her bed together, tits out.
"what are you two up to?" he asked.
"oh it's just hot today." annie said. she angled the camera down to their pussies. "so we're laying around naked."
"Well, that is very nice," he said. "love your tan lines, julia."
"thank you mr. anderson," julia giggled.
annie ended up calling him back a few hours later. he asked if she and julia were having an affair, and she laughed and said, "very mildly, i suppose. she told him they were regularly sexually active but 'around the boys.'"
"as in robbie, too?"
"well, julia sleeps with robbie sometimes, yes."
"no wonder he's staying with you, you'll have to pry him out of there."
"i like having him around."
"but if things get more serious with you and ted..."
"they won't," annie said.
"what makes you say that?"
"all we do is fuck. you know, when he was a patient, it was all we wanted to do. so it's all we do now."
"i always say that's the most important thing,"
"but when it's the only thing..."
"your mother has been very horny lately."
"i love that for you."
"always sending me nude photos, sex every day, she likes to have me watch her touch herself... i'm so glad she's feeling so attractive but i don't know what brought it on."
"summertime," annie said.
"is mom sending you more nudes?" she asked robbie when she was off the phone with her dad. robbie laughed. "yeah," he said. "it rocks."
he pulled up their message thread. two days earlier, she'd sent him a full frontal pic from the bathroom with the caption, "good morning, just hopping in the shower, what are you doing?"
he'd responded with a nude bathroom pic of his own, cock activated but not hard, flashing a peace sign. "getting in the shower too."
later, she'd sent a pic of herself in just panties in the kitchen with the caption "i still haven't gotten dressed yet."
he'd responded with a picture of his cock in julia's mouth.
"when did this happen?" annie asked.
"she stopped by yesterday," robbie said. he'd captioned the photo, "I am hanging out with annie's friend julia."
"you are so bad!" his mom had replied. "isn't she engaged?"
"yeah but we have fun sometimes," he'd said.
"it looks like you're having fun," she said.
and then she'd sent him a picture of herself riding their dad's cock. she was on him reverse cowgirl, taking the photo in the mirror. annie gawked at her father's balls. he was all the way inside her, no real view of his shaft.
"now i'm having fun" she'd written.
"not to be a weirdo but you look so good taking a dick," he'd told her. "so pretty."
"thank you," she'd written. "obviously i didn't send that until after. cleaning up now." it came with a photo of cum on her stomach.
"did you take anymore?" he asked.
"yes but they're too graphic," she'd replied.
"i can handle it," he said. and he'd sent her a picture of his cock in julia's pussy from behind.
she's responded with a lamplit photo of her pussy gripping her husband's shaft. he was glistening with her juices. "i had just climaxed on him," she explained.
"looks so good," he'd responded. "gorgeous."
annie took a moment to briefly marvel at the sight of his veiny cock and her immaculate pussylips gripping it.
"mom has like a pornstar pussy," annie said.
"so you do," robbie said.
"thank you, i know," she said.
that night she met sophie for a drink by the art school. sophie told her she'd met up with claire again already, at her dad's apartment because claire's boyfriend was in town.
"how did you meet her?" sophie asked.
"my best friend is getting married, we tried on dresses with her."
"that's cute," sophie said. "and you hit on her?"
"a little but she really came on to me."
"interesting, isn't it?" sophie said. "every time i've slept with an ostensibly straight girl it was when she was going through a stressful time."
"that has been my experience too," annie said. "on both sides."
"stress-borne lesbianism," sophie mused. "you should write an essay."
sophie could drink a lot more than annie could. before long, annie was very drunk, and didn't really understand where she was until sophie was leading her into an apartment.
"richard's place!?" annie nearly shrieked. "i shouldn't."
"chill," sophie said. "he's out. you just need to lay down for a while."
annie woke up on sophie's bed. sophie was at her desk on a laptop, editing photos.
"hey," annie said. "i have to pee and maybe throw up."
sophie gestured to a little doorway in her room that led to what was obviously her private bath. it was lit with pink bulbs and smelled like blood orange. annie got her act together and returned to sophie's room. "i can get an uber home," she said.
"or," sophie said, "you can sleep over." she stood up in a way that made her intentions clear.
"oh," annie said. "oh, i would like that."
sophie took her dress off and climbed onto her bed. she was in a black lace bra and matching thong. they stayed in their underwear for quite a while, kissing and touching. annie made sophie cum with her fingers, which felt like an accomplishment. sophie went down on annie, finally pulling her panties off. after annie came they scissored a little, annie's wet, spit-coated pussy ruining sophie's thong. it was an over an hour before they actually got naked. sophie produced a strap-on dildo, something annie had never even seen in real life, and proceeded to fuck annie's brains out with it. when annie tried to pick it up and put it on, sophie instead requested that annie lick her nipples while she used a vibrator. annie was happy to honor this very specific request, which got sophie off in explosive fashion.
they passed out shortly after, sweaty and nude.
annie woke up alone in sophie's bed, terrified that she'd see richard in the apartment. she frantically texted sophie but got no answer. straightening herself up, she got dressed, walked out into an empty apartment, and fled.

I- Uh- Sure!
1610!Miles Morales x Autistic!reader
Requested by and for @tiagems
Cw: fem implied, ignore the cringy ass title
Tumblr media
His name is Miles Morales, he was bitten by a radioactive spider, and he’s in love with you.
The two of you never ever spoke, but the feeling was mutual. In class he’d sneak glances of you, praying you’d look at him and strike up a conversation, a QUIET conversation. At lunch, when Miles eating with Ganke and his other friends, you’d sneak looks at him and pray he never saw you in fear of embarrassing yourself
When Miles would answer questions in Physics class, you’d stare into his big-brown eyes, knowing he would never look away from his paper or the teachers eyes. When you would answer questions in class you got all nervous and jittery, but Miles adored you so much for it. Miles would analyze the way your lips moved, the way your voice sounded, your body language. Miles memorized a lot about you, possibly even everything.
When Miles would get home, he’d try to design a new spider-suit for himself on paper, but would keep getting frustrated with himself because he could only draw you out of muscle-memory. When you would get home, you’d listen to music and think about the countless times you could have spoken to him but blew it because you were overwhelmed, overstimulated, and anxious.
In the end, both of you were daydreaming about each other.
You thought this Tuesday would be a normal day, but you were incredibly incorrect. You see, today is the day Miles made plans to talk to you, and maybe even ask you out.
Running through the halls, Spanish text-books in hand, was you being 3 minutes late. Right behind you was Miles, who was also late, but he didn’t really care because he used skipped this class anyway. When you burst into the door, Miles came following after.
“Señor Morales y Señora [L/N], Otrasado otra vez? Quieres explicar por qué?” Ms. Sierra asked. “Errr..ehh..no..??” You replied in a unsure tone. Miles’ eyes widened and he whispered “sh” to you so that he could explain.
“Math’s on the other side of the campus so it took us long to get here, sorry.” He scratched the back of his neck, trying to sound genuine but he really just didn’t care, as long as it got you out of trouble.
You both scrambled to your seats, you’re head immediately being covered by your hands out of embarrassment. You just waited for the rest of this period to end.
After the time had passed, it was time for lunch. You planned on leaving school for 15 minutes to go out to a café and eat. When you arrived there it was none other than Miles Morales order food at the counter. You immediately turned your face away and covered it with your hand, inching to a table in the corner.
Fortunately yet unfortunately for you, Miles had noticed you walk in, he had noticed you cover your face, and he had notice you basically waddle to a table like a penguin. He took a deep breath before walking over to your table, causing your heart to jump.
“Hey, you’re the girl from first and third period, right?” He was asking like he didn’t already know. You silently nodded in response. He sat his food down on the table and pulled a chair out. “Is it okay if I sit with you?” God, his teeth were pearly white, and his smile was so pretty.
You snapped out of your daze and silently nodded.
“So um, I was..,” He sighed, swiping his hand over his face. “I was wondering if..If you..god this is hard.. if you wanna, you know, go out sometime..” Miles’ eyes were locked on his hands, tracing lines on the table. However, your eyes never left his, maybe thats why he was so nervous. You swore you could see electric streak of blue lightning in his pretty eyes.
But you had absolutely no idea how to answer him when the question actually hit you. Your eyes widened and your breathing quickened, your hands pat your pockets and your head turned frantically. You grabbed your phone from your bag and sat it down on the table, slowly but surely, sliding it towards Miles.
He tilted his head with a small “huh..?” until you finally spoke.
“Uh..uhm..mmm..Can I get your n-number.? YoucantypeitinbecauseItypeslowan-“ Miles smiled, letting out a small chuckle before he took the phone and put his contact in.
You took the phone back, smiling at him as you both sat in comfortable silence.
