even MORE modern au

bc i was looking at someone else's doodles and got inspired.

Quinlan and Aayla have their own little soap opera going on next door involving Bly, Ventress, and Aayla's bio mom but you only get snippets bc Ahsoka isn't paying attention

Obi-Wan and Satine have a running joke that he married her because she beat him at chess and he couldn't figure out how else to react

Cody is a coach at a neighboring high school (not the high school that the kids in his neighborhood attend) and also teaches geography

If the au were in its Ideal Form (television sitcom) you wouldn't see Fox's face (wearing sunglasses, head out of frame, back to camera, etc.) until he meets Riyo for the first time, at which point he lowers his mirrored shades to look her in the eyes properly.

Tup draws. constantly. if you leave a piece of paper near him for longer than two minutes it will come away with a doodle

Everyone has basically forgotten that nuclear families are the "norm" bc this neighborhood is just so full of unusual family constructions. Couple raising nephew, younger brother, and adopted daughter? Sure! Single dad and daughter? Great! Aunt and niece? Welcome to the club! An unspecified but very large rotating group of "brothers" with no parents around? Why not!

Ahsoka Rex and Anakin have an eclectic tiktok account/yt channel that’s mostly just them doing a bunch of random stuff. Ahsoka’s skincare routine, Rex and Anakin teaching you how to properly throw a football, Anakin working on his car, comedy sketches, etc.

They have one video of them attempting to make a pineapple upside down cake that did go semi-viral bc there’s a shot where you can see Obi-Wan walking into the kitchen, seeing the mess, and going through all five stages of grief in the background

Baby Leia has Obi-Wan wrapped around her little finger for the first ten or so years of her life

Yoda gives out one (1) full size candy bar every Halloween to the most impressive costume, which creates an unofficial costume contest. he has super weird criteria for "impressive," though, and it seems to shift from year to year...

Mace LOVES scavenger hunts (a la Ron Swanson) and Depa sets up increasingly complicated ones for his birthday each year (tbh I might not limit this one to the modern au)

Obi-Wan knows he’s being rather old-fashioned about this.

Cody Fett is his own man, and he certainly doesn’t need his father’s permission to get married. But Obi-Wan figures it’s still the courteous thing, to at least make his intentions known before he proposes.

After Obi-Wan tells Jango as much, the man stares at him silently for an unnerving amount of time, before he sighs.

“You don’t need my blessing, if that’s what you’re asking… it’s the rest of them you need to worry about.”

Obi-Wan blinks. “The rest of them?”

“So,” Fox starts, sitting down on the chair across from him. “You think you’re good enough to marry my brother?”

“Fox, please,” Obi-Wan says, pained. “You know me. I’ve been dating Cody for years. Is this all really necessary?”

Fox just raises a brow. “I hope you cleared your schedule. You’re going to be here awhile.”

Obi-Wan looks to the door, behind which he knows the rest of Cody’s brothers are waiting. All nineteen of them.

He turns back to Fox, who takes that as his cue to fully launch into what’s likely meant to be a speech, but feels more like an interrogation.

Obi-Wan bites back a groan. For Cody, even this particular brand of torture is worth it.

Jesse believes in Bigfoot and other select cryptids. All of his brothers think this ridiculous to varying extents but Kix will sigh and go to the tourist spots with him

Due to my Stewjon-is-space-Scotland headcanons, Obi-Wan was born in Scotland but raised in England in this au. At various points Cody's ringtone for him was the chorus of I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Anakin's was this (volume warning for the link)

obitine is ace4ace, ahsoka is bi, and korkie is bi/ace. anakin is the only straight person in the house

tup made cody an apron that says "please do nothing to the cook" in sunset aroace flag colors

i can't find any good images of it but the vibe of fox and riyo's first date is the same as sunny and reaper's in Goblin: The Great and Lonely God (if you don't know what that is i'm sorry. there's no succinct way to properly describe it) except fox is slightly less awkward than reaper so he doesn't stare at the table the whole time.

ahsoka doesn't ever put people's actual names in as phone contacts and they’re indecipherable to outsiders

(Wanted to draw Cody in a matching Hawaiin shirt to Obi, and after some discussion in the Mustache Cody™️ discord this drawing was spawned. 😩 I imagine these two went out for the night, and somehow Cody managed to convince Obi to wear the shirt. Unfortunately, they ran into Quinlan, who insisted on taking their photo, and Obi is like oh God no bc he knows Quin will never let them off the hook for this lol and he doesn’t want his photo taken. Cody is just running with it tho lol.)

A Modern AU thought from last night:

So, Fox is an architect. He had some scholarships when he went to school, but he still needed to work in order to keep studying. The only job he could take with his schedule was a security job with primarily evening and night shifts, and he got into a lot of rough jobs (and was also very sleep deprived because, it's Fox. Of course he is). He manages to still graduate with very good grades and portfolios and recommendations and all that because that's just who he is. He got pretty good jobs after graduation! Still a workaholic, because that's just who he is. And he wants to help his brothers and pay whatever student loans he has left and make rent and also maybe put something into his savings and-

Anyway, that's how his early twenties go. He really starts to get like, good jobs after that, and one of them lands him into making renovations to one of the Embassy buildings in the city. His main job is to redesign part of the foyer and especially the stairs. Especially the stairs. They are horrific in looks and in just being stairs. Fox is honestly suprised no one has yet fallen down and broken their necks because of them. He wants to rip the whole thing off, but the owners of the building have told him that he cannot make "too many changes" because apparently some big name guy designed the original ones. Fox has never heard of the guy, and he asks what else he has done. Oh. Nothing much after the stairs. He fell down and broke his neck. Figures.

So he gets to work. He's in the middle of taking pictures and measurements when the alarms go off. There's an armed person inside the building, and that armed person is now running across the foyer. Old habits die hard, so Fox grabs the guy and throws them onto the floor without thinking much. The actual security comes soon after, and one of the Diplomats working in the building comes to ask Fox if he's alright and tells him that it was...quite a throw.

The whole thing has really messed up Fox's schedule. He needed to have the measurements done this afternoon so he could go back to his office and start drawing. He hates the stairs. He hates them so much. He has so many good ideas but he cannot just do them because some architect (Derogatory) made them stupid enough that they are considered some sort of unique feature that needs to be preserved. So Fox tells the guy that no, he is not okay, because the stairs could've made the throw for him. Has he seen the stairs? Yes good he has! Now if Fox could do what he really wanted to do, he would rip them off and then put these kind of in place like this-

After five minutes of ranting the Diplomat asks if Fox wants to continue telling about his much better plans for the stairs over dinner. His wife could also come and listen. She would love to hear more about the stairs.

Fox looks at the guy. He's really tall. And honestly really handsome. Dressed in nice clothes. Listened to the whole rant and is still smiling. Okay, Fox thinks. Why not.

(From the point of view of Bail Organa, his rather boring day in the office was interrupted by a gorgeous man in a dress shirt holding a clipboard throwing another man onto the floor. Then the said gorgeous man, still holding the clipboard, proceeded to share Bail's hate for the stupid stairs he dreads every single morning he leaves for work. But also the gorgeous man knows about arts. Breha would love to hear about the stairs from someone who actually knows what they are talking about. Bail just knows how to complain, after all. It was love at the first sight, really)
