OMJ I WROTE SOMETHING I'm so sorry all: I've been incredibly depressed these passed few months and unable to get passed what I think was writer's block (probably still is; I don't think it's actually gone just... I found a hole in it, I guess, thanks to that drawing I saw) Things are... a bit better now--head/heart wise--but the cause of my depression is still here; I just think I've thought of a solution of sorts which is basically finally going through with the Crochet ASMR idea I had like last year but meshing it with my need for better marketing when it comes to my crochet store so... yea; might not work but technically I have two chances of success here (either my store finally does well or the YT channel does) so... here's hoping lol sorry for spewing this just... idk it helps to talk I guess

Haunted Halls AU

Fili and Kili are young/teen paranormal seekers hoping to catch any kind of proof they can that ghosts exist/are real/can be seen because they miss their dad.

If they can just find proof that leads them to a WAY... they can talk to him again.

OK, this is a mini non-bagginshield-related deep dive that I would like to use to showcase how we collectively as Hobbit fanfic writers are not using Thranduil to his full potential when he interacts with dwarves.

By that, I mean to say Thranduil can speak and understand Khuzdul just fine.

Exhibit A: Thorin says the below line to Thranduil in Khuzdul. (Khuzdul bottom and English on top)

Exhibit B: Thranduil's response

This elf is at least seven thousand years old and has lived near Erebor for the entirety of its creation, abandonment, and reclamation. It totally makes sense that he learned a thing or two, and you can't tell me this version of Thranduil wouldn't be petty enough to rub that use of their secret language in their faces. The dwarves would be pissed, but also, what can they do about it?
