SURPRISE! Did you think the day would come when we would cover Love Live on this blog? I didn't!
Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue is the Metroidvania-style game based on the fantasy spin-off of Love Live Sunshine, but you probably don't care about that! Statistically speaking, our target audience is Bogleech readers who are deeply revolted by anime girls!
So why bring up? Why bring it up? The answer is 🐠 FUNNY FISH! It's Funny Fish Friday!
Tumblr media
Since this game is set in an underwater temple, the enemies this game are all based on sea creatures, and that's cool! Again, statistically speaking, you probably think sea creatures are cool. I really liked seeing the variety of enemies when playing through this game, so I thought it'd be fun if I could share them with an audience of people who otherwise wouldn't care! None of the enemies really have names, as far as I'm aware of. But I'll do my Rubesty...?
Tumblr media
Our first guy we encounter in the game is the sort of guy who emerges from the ground like the Zombies from Castlevania, and wow! A good first impression I think. It is sort of a squid mantle, if the mantle was also a cloak for a spooky sort of wizard! The way it doesn't really have a 'face' in the hood and the eye is below really makes it seem like a weird mimic creature. Cool!
Tumblr media
They also get a tough lategame variant which looks like a mix between a flapjack and a vampire squid. You don't often see flapjacks be designed as scary!
---
Tumblr media
Next is Barnacles! A whole clump of them, like a cake. They shoot Energy Balls at you. Is this what Barnacles can do if they combine their powers...? The top actually opens up, and it looks a lot like a sea urchin's mouth! So maybe it is some sort of naked urchin creature covered in barnacles? Game Theory!
Tumblr media
There are also barnacles with Ice Powers. Like real life!
---
Tumblr media
Let's give it up for Garden Eel!!!!
What a fine Garden Eel it is! Complete with the sort of grumpy face, and with the addition of two little arms that make it look like it's praying or maybe a bit shy. But it is mean! It also spits energy balls at you, then hides in the hole so you can't hit it. How very sneaky!
Tumblr media
SO sneaky, in fact, that these eels have mastered the art of ninjutsu! The ninja eel shows up for a split second in one single room, before smoke bombing away. You'd have to use a time freeze power to get him, but I never got around to doing that. I don't have any beef with a ninja eel! I respect him and his training!
Tumblr media
Did someone say CTENOPHORE? I hope you did, or my hearing has really gotten worse. This thing is a grade A ctenophore, only with a ring of Scary Teeth! A little scary to think of a ctenophore who could Bite you, but nonetheless this deserves a :ctenopog:!
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
Let's not forget Fish Vortex! Fish Vortex was the first guy to make me go 'wow, this game's enemies really are awesome!' So of course I had to put him at the top of the post! He is my selling point! I am selling all these enemies to you. For 4.99 a pop!
Anyway. This design is just so funny and cool at the same time. A swirling school of fish that leads into an endless dark abyss, and in the middle, a big eyeball. Also covered in fish. It shoots fish at you! Yay!
Tumblr media
There is also a pink variant - it shoots fish that give you the Solitude status effect, which basically just makes Yohane too depressed to summon her friends. Meaning? They are Depression Fish! Maybe she just becomes so jealous of the unity and teamwork of these sardines. She's me like just for real! ^_^
---
Tumblr media
isopot :)
---
Tumblr media
This slug is an umbrella. That is ridiculous! Ridiculously EPIC! It does the opposite of shield you from rain, which is create rain, that kills you. But I would still want one as an umbrella.
---
Tumblr media
When I first saw this thing, I thought it was some strange round Echimoderm I had never heard of. But upon further inspection (I actually asked Mod Chikako shh), it is obviously like a Brittle Star, with each arm folded round to form a wheel! How creative and fun! It even has a bunch of eyes like a starfish!
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least- sushi! There are sushi guys and they are cute. They don't really do much and are typically found in their own rooms, so I'm not sure what the point of them is. But finding a funny walking sushi should be a reward in of itself, I guess! Look at their funny rice feet! Or the one with the roe eyes!
Tumblr media
I happened to use fire magic on one of them and this happened. Oopsies...
Now I am sure you are saying, thank you for showing me all these funny enemies. But are there any cool bosses? Of course there are, me! What's a Metroidvania without cool bosses? So I shall show you my favorites without delay!
Tumblr media
First is this freak (affectionate)! It is a sort of amalgamation of lots of different animals and I think it just looks plain cool! Two squid mantles combined into one, a bit of a sea angel shape, bug legs and of course a great big eyeball!
Tumblr media
If it is not freaky enough for you, let it be known that the bug legs turn into big green skeleton hands, and it also keeps getting pinker, and it grows new eyes and then extra horns grow out of those eyes. If THAT is not freaky enough for you then I am sorry but I cannot do anything about that.
---
Tumblr media
Now, how about a sampling of this Freaken Thang? It honestly doesn't seem that sea-creature themed, but it uses seashells so I guess it counts!
Tumblr media
What is really neat is that this boss has two different forms, upside down and rightside up! When it is upside down it looks a bit like a Magolor type creature. And of course, I really like the flame thing in the middle as well, that really feels like a Kirby enemy or something! Like a wisp made of plasma!
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fans of Anomalocaris won't be disappointed by this one! It's a big Anomalocaris tank and boy is it cool! There's something for everyone here, whether you're an Anomalocaris purist or you've always wanted to see it turn into a sort of futuristic beast with a screen mouth that shoots lasers! It really is the future, zura...
---
After covering all these wacky creatures, I'm going to have to end it off with the final boss! What could the big bad, the ultimate boss of all these sea monsters even be, I wonder? Well, it's...
Tumblr media
...a coelecanth. Just a big coelacanth! It is big and blue! And really, does it need to be anything else? It is such an honor to make the biggest ultimate boss a coelacanth. It is even pretty cute!! Think he's smiling! 😊
Tumblr media
Uh oh! Is it still cute? I guess so. My first thought seeing this was of course the world-renowned tongue eating isopod, so I really hope it was an intentional reference! It probably just wants to shake hands. Still, a pretty simplistic design for our final boss, right?
Tumblr media
Buu buu! Its true form actually looks like this! Actually, it's kind of doing too much. Like let's tone it down a little?
So!! We beat the mega ultra coelacanth, and now we can find out what his motivation is! And it is... that he is the memories of the people of the past or something. And they all didn't want to be forgotten, so they turned into fish monsters! But we forgive them!
Tumblr media
It doesn't really matter. All the girlies gather around and sing him a song. Look how happy he is! I forgot I was talking about a Love Live game until now, actually. All's well that ends well, the end, et cetera! Hit it, Yohane! [imagine this is like the end of a kids movie where all the Love Live girls are having a dance party and there is a shot of the big coelacanth in jail and he's tapping his mouth fingers along to the beat]

HERE IT IS!! MY VANESSA X ANGEL! READER FIC!! HOPE YOU ENJOY!! :D "WINGS" Vanessa has always found your wings fascinating. They're soft, beautiful, and fun to run your fingers through your feathers. When you stretch your back, your wings stretch too. when you feel sleepy, your wings are droopy and you tend to drag it around. When harm strikes, your wings shield her. Not letting danger come in no matter the damage. When you move in your sleep, it moves and stays at random places. When you're shy, your wings either cover your face or cover you like a cocoon. When you are being tickled, it either flaps, twitches or covers the spot being tickled.
Your wings can also show what emotion you are feeling. Similar to a dog with its tail. Like when you feel shock, scared or surprised, your wings pop out of its hiding place. Ripping your clothes in the process. The first time it happened was quite a funny yet troublesome event.
Wings are more useful than Vanessa ever thought of.
On hot days, it provides shade and a cool breeze with a single flap. In winter, It provides warmth. Not even the finest coats and blankets could rival it nor will you feel the freezing air, the coldest of winter. On rainy days, It provides shelter like a huge umbrella. On days where Vanessa has free time, you tend to soar high into the clouds with her. Showing the beauty of the world below, touching the clouds, watching the sunrise or sunset, talking about whatever comes to mind or simply enjoying each other's presence. In Vanessa's darkest days, it provides comfort and security.
Yes there were some inconveniences here and there. Y/n accidentally broke a vase once cuz she forgot how big her wings are. And then there were times where y/n got stuck in a tree on multiple occasions. Even broke a wing or two sometimes.
Can you imagine An angel , guardian of human beings, stuck on a tree? Well you would understandably think that angels are heavenly, divine and perfect. Vanessa also thought of that as well....but then there is y/n who changed her perspective as she pulls out the twigs and gives medical attention to her wings. y/n obviously won't be flying until recovery.
But the most common is when your wings tend to shed feathers. But Vanessa doesn't mind the mess. She finds it endearing to have something that's a part of you. Even finds it amusing to find your feathers in the most random areas in the mansion from time to time.
Truly magnificent.... and adorable.
She once asked if they were heavy to carry it around to which you replied no. She simply assumes you were used to it.
One day Vanessa found a trail of feathers that leads to your room. Once she reached her destination she saw you sitting on your bed brushing your wings. All the feathers that scattered in your room were more than enough to fill a king sized bed and many more pillows. You felt someone staring and locked eyes with the woman standing a few feet away from you.
"Oh! I'm sorry -I didn't mean to make a mess." You blurted out. You then noticed some of your feathers that went outside the door and stopped brushing your wings. "I was trying to groom my wings so you don't have a mess to clean up." you confessed. Too guilty to make eye contact with her.
Vanessa smiled. "Don't worry about it. I'll get someone to clean it up." She gently assured you. This woman was so kind even after everything she has been through. How could she deserve such a horrible fate? It's unfair!
"No please. Let me clean it up. It's seen as shameful for a high class such as yourself to have untidiness in your manor." You try to convince her with reason. Vanessa continued smiling. Amused at your concern, she started picking up your feathers.
"I don't mind. Really. I don't get visitors all the time." She spoke softly and closed the door behind when finished picking up your feathers. She then sat on the bed with you.
"I always find myself smiling whenever I find your feathers in whatever places. It reminds me that I am not alone anymore." Vanessa answered truthfully. You were one of the few people that she opened up to. Words can't describe how much it made you feel special.
Today seems a bit different. She was staring at your wings longer than usual. She was mesmerized. She just can't stop staring at your wings. She can't stop staring at you.
You look so ethereal sitting beside her. So Relaxed. Too focused on the book you were reading, you didn't notice her staring at you. The sunlight from the windows made your wings look like they were glowing.
Thankfully it's just Vanessa and her beloved Y/n sitting on the couch. Both are reading a book or at least one of them. You were grateful to have the opportunity to no longer hide your wings. Any longer than your limit would give you back pains for a week.
Without thinking, Vanessa got up and stood behind you. Soon her lips met your wings. Giving each a gentle kiss. "Your wings are very beautiful. You are very beautiful" she mutters.
"O-oh! thank you!" you gave a flustered reply. Vanessa's kisses send shivers down your spine, you blushed. Quite unexpected but you're not complaining.
what do you think? :D I also got more ideas about vanessa x angel! reader btw. :3
This was so cute 🥰, I’m in love with it, such a beautiful concept. Now I definitely have to write something with Vanessa x angel, if that’s alright with you of course.

Catalina had never expected to get involved with SHIELD’s work. Sure, she was good at the undercover scene, but other than that, she didn’t know what they would want with her, a former Umbrella worker with an awful reputation. No, she had never expected this, but then again, her life had played out very differently than her expectations.
“So,” Catalina started, glancing over at Carlos, “are you planning to stare at them forever or are you actually going to blend in? I thought you’d be better at this.”
She was especially good at that part, blending in. No one would catch Catalina if she was good enough at her job, and so far, no one had noticed the facade she’d been using. Carlos didn’t know enough about her or her past to know that she was never a glamorous figure, even though she always acted like it. Still, she wanted to get to know him, and that meant letting things slip from time to time.
{my other oc!}
__________
Tumblr media
“No,” Carlos answered her. “Not yet.” He wanted to get a sense of things first before he moved in. He was a soldier, not an undercover agent. Playing a role was not something that came naturally to him. But SHIELD had thought that things might get ugly on this particular mission, and so they wanted someone with the right kind of combat training present. “I’m working up to it,” Carlos said unconvincingly. He didn’t want to blow the entire operation with his poor performance.
Working for SHIELD was better than working for Umbrella in many ways, and Carlos felt grateful that they would even take him on. The fall out of some of Umbrella’s dealings had cast a shadow over anyone who worked for them, it seemed. They were a huge corporation, however, with multiple departments and many different specialists. Most of their employees hadn’t known what high command actually had their hands in, Carlos included. He thought he’d been an honest employee and just wanted to help people. Finding out he’d been used was both disappointing and infuriating.
Carlos didn’t know Catalina, but again, Umbrella was huge. Paramilitary often didn’t mix with the research and development, marketing, financing, or global outreach departments. He didn’t know what she had done for Umbrella in the past, but having her on his mission was somewhat grounding. If nothing else, she seemed more confident than he was with regard to undercover work. Currently, though, she was grinning at him in a way that made him frown. “Something funny?” he asked.

Simon Kalivoda
Summary: Y/n has always been afraid of thunderstorms, and Simon always liked to tease her about it. But thats not the only reason why he liked her being afraid of them.
Simon Kalivoda x fem reader
Warnings: none, just fluff. Unless you count the fear of thunderstorms as a warning.
Y/n was never one for thunderstorms, and Simon knew that. And of course, Simon being Simon, always teased her about it.
It's not like she wanted to be scared of them. She just couldn't help but jump whenever thunder boomed in the sky, and the lightning flashing right after. It made her cower under the blankets she always wrapped around herself.
Tonight was especially bad, and it caused her to shoot up from her spot in her bedroom and reach for the telephone on the wall inside the hall and furiously dial Simon's number.
Of course he didn't come over as quickly as she wanted him to, him of course teasing her about it before she got mad,
"Simon this isn't funny!" She whined, "it's really scary and I just want you to come over and comfort me like the nice boyfriend you are!"
She heard Simon chuckle over the line before speaking up, "Alright, alright I'm sorry for laughing. I'll be right over. But if I get struck by lightning or the rain gets too much and I crash, I'm blaming it on you."
"Simon!" The girl bellowed, annoyed by his behavior before yelping as the thunder struck once again.
"Sorry, sorry. I'll be there in three." He said sympathetically, knowing that if he continued he'd probably go too far with it and she'd be more than irritated with him.
"You better be." She said seriously before she let out a squeak as a sudden bolt of lightning lit up the sky and she quickly hung up, running back to her room and wrapping herself inside of her blanket again, trying her best not to look out her window.
She could just close her blinds but that takes work and her fear of thunderstorms overtook the rational part of her mind.
And, like he promised, Simon was over in three.
When she heard the knock on the door, she ran as fast as she could, her blanket still wrapped tightly around her, trying not to trip over it, she got to the door.
Opening it, she saw a smiling Simon holding an umbrella, shielding himself from the rain.
Without hesitation she pulled him inside of the house, closing the door behind him.
She jumped when another bit of thunder boomed, and she ran into Simon's arms, who had put his umbrella down and taken off his shoes.
Simon chuckled as he wrapped his arms around his blanket-covered girlfriend, and laid his chin on her head as he guided them over to the couch in her living room.
He laid down with her in his arms, holding her close as he could hear her jagged breaths as the lightning flashed and the thunder kept booming.
He would never admit it, but he loved that she hated thunderstorms. No matter how much he teased her, he knew how much it actually scared her and he loved that he could use that as an excuse to hold her close to him.
He was her greatest source of comfort, and he loved that thought.
"Thank God for thunderstorms." He thought to himself as he cuddled with Y/n on the couch, her irratic heartbeat slowing down as she payed attention to Simon, and only Simon.

Ahhhh, what you do best, Naru: Mutual Pining + Stranded Due to Inclement Weather for the trope mashup ❤️
You know me so well, @whathefawkes! ♥️
Mutual Pining + Stranded Due to Inclement Weather
Annnnd I'm going to write a little scene from the librarian!Harry and witch!Ginny universe just for you.
---
It was typical with Harry's luck that it would be pouring out the moment he got off his shift. While it had been wet out in the morning, it was nothing compared to the outright downpour of the moment. The only upside was the late email from his professor that the exam would be delayed because of car troubles.
Harry rifled through his book bag and, yep, he had forgotten to grab an umbrella this morning. He paused, attention caught by the colorful and odd magazine the redhead had left behind earlier. He looked back up at the sky, which rumbled ominously back at him.
Normally, he would use his bag to shield him, but he felt a reluctant affinity to the bizarre rag. Maybe she was unhinged and he should want nothing to do with her, but...while the content was utter nonsense, it didn’t necessarily mean she actually believed in these mythical what's-it creatures. Maybe it could even be a harmless hobby, like believing in the Loch Ness Monster.
It was whimsical and funny, and, he was a bit embarrassed to even think, a little magical. It filled him with a strange nostalgia, like those times he would sneak the Narnia books to his cupboard under the stairs.
Harry snorted. Maybe he liked the magazine because it would give the Dursleys a heart attack.
The magazine safe and secure between his textbooks, Harry tucked his bag tightly under his coat and made a run for it.
The downpour was even worse than it had looked. Rain pelted him relentlessly, immediately soaking him to the bone. His wet glasses made it impossible to see, and he had only made it three blocks before a car seemed to burst out of nowhere right in front of him. It veered just in time, the violent honking nearly drowned out by the storm and the adrenaline that pumped through his body.
It was too dangerous to keep going when Harry and possibly traffic couldn’t see. Teeth clattering, he needed somewhere to wait out the worst of the storm. He squinted through the curtains of water at the red splotches to his right. He rushed toward them, slippery fingers sliding and searching until they wrapped over the latch. With a sigh of relief, he hurried in and shut the door to keep out the rain.
"Oh!" a female voice said.
Shit, there was someone else squeezed in this telephone booth.
"Sorry, I didn't realize someone was in here!” He brushed his dripping locks out of his face to apologize properly.
His mouth dropped at the wide brown eyes looking up at him.
"Ow!" he yelped. In his shock, he had let go of his bag, which fell right on his foot.
He thought he couldn’t be any more stunned, but then the redhead from the library started laughing, a bright sound that seemed to chase away the gloom that had been hanging over him. "You’re really having a stellar day, aren’t you?" she teased, leaning down to pick up his bag.
"Yeah," Harry said, feeling a bit breathless as he accepted the bag.
She scrunched up her nose, which made her freckles bunch together. “You’re not one of those stalker-types, are you?”
“No!” He jumped at the accusation. “I couldn't see, and these booths are usually abandoned, what with cellphones, and I..."
He slowed to a stop when he registered her body was not trembling in fear but from her snickers.
“I’m sorry, you made it so easy.”
He sighed, removing his useless glasses. “You mock me, but I’d be blind in that weather even if I didn’t need these things.”
“Let me,” she said, taking his glasses from him. Without them, he couldn’t quite make out what she was doing as she muttered something under her breath. “There, that’s better.”
His heart sped up as she leaned toward him and placed his glasses on his face. He blinked, surprised. They were clearer than he could remember, like when they were brand new. Not just dry, but squeaky clean.
“Thank you,” he said, amazed and a bit flustered now that he could see her clearly. He hadn’t realized how close she was.
“No problem,” she said with a smile. A light hue brushed over her cheeks as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Suddenly Harry extremely self-conscious of the close proximity, the heat consolidating in the small space, making the glass fog in contrast to the cold, rain sliding down its exterior.
Harry swallowed hard.
Maybe his luck was turning around.

Flightless Raven
Hey all. This is a commission from @wombatking for an Injured!Raven X Starfire. There will be angst, but also fluff and quite a bit of info-dumping due to me doing a lot of research not wanting to mess up writing a disability. Links for that will be at the end for those interested! Enjoy!
“I got it!", Raven called as the beachball flew her way.
It was one of the Titans’ rare days off and Beast and Starfire had insisted they all go to the beach. Raven had pretended to protest when they tried to get her to leave the shade of her umbrella to come and play in the water, but she knew that the second her girlfriend turned her big green puppy eyes on her, she was getting in the water.
She jumped to hit the ball back to her team, but when she went to push off the seafloor, her foot found a patch of algae slick rocks and she went under. She immediately tried fighting to resurface, but a riptide caught her and fought against her to keep her under.
“Ra~n!” She could vaguely hear her teammates trying to reach her, and caught a flash of pink hair when she momentarily resurfaced only to be dragged down again.
She dared to open her eyes when under and spotted a green shark speeding towards her that she really should have recognized as Beast Boy, but in her panic, she didn’t and instead used her powers to propel herself away from the shark and, unfortunately, into a large rock.
Hard.
Raven blacked out. She would later recall the feeling of arms wrapping around her and hoisting her limp body from the water, then vague memories of beeping and her friends’ and girlfriend’s voices, but otherwise, nothing.
It wouldn’t be until several days later that she finally wakes up to a blinding light shining down on her. She immediately tries to shield her eyes from the harsh fluorescents, only to realize that she can’t. Raven begins to panic as she tried to feel if maybe she was strapped down, but all this did was make her realize she couldn’t feel her body from the neck down...no that wasn’t quite right. It felt like her whole body from the neck down fell asleep, but she can’t move anything to wake it back up.
She didn’t even hear Starfire’s excited rambling as she kept trying to move. The next thing she knows, she’s surrounded by her friends. She thinks Starfire is holding her hand, but she can’t feel it! Just a shift in the pins and needles feeling.
“Raven! You’re awake!” Robin smiles.
“RAVEN!” Cyborg was crying and snotting everywhere, but given the circumstances, no one really cares.
“I thought I didn’t get to you in time!” Beast Boy was in a similar state.
“Indeed, we were most worried!” Starfire sniffs, holding Raven’s hand to her chest protectively. The fact Raven could now see the hand was the only reason Raven could even tell.
Raven was still internally freaking out, but her friends’ combined chaos and talking over each other was oddly comforting, and grounded her enough for her to try speaking.
“Wha-?” She grimaces at how dry her throat is but tried again. “What happened?”
The fact that her voice sounded like a drunk asthmatic who just n a mile only worried her more as she slurred and wheezed through even those two words.
“You slipped on a rock we think, and the ripping tide kept you under,” Starfire answers, the only one close enough to hear her over the boys’ blubbering.
“I tried to get to you, but I think you were panicking ‘cause you blasted yourself away and knocked yourself out on a rock.” Beastboy jumps in, giving the underwater play-by-play through his worried blubbering. “I turned into a dolphin and sped us to shore.”
Their words lined up with what she could remember, but she still frowns. “I-... Why can’t I -- feel my body?-- It feels like--everything is asleep or-- I’m made of funny bones?”
Everyone looked away or down sadly making her panic return.
Robin was the one to sigh and speak up. “You hit the back of your neck on the rock. A few healing powers and experts have come through to try and heal the injury, but it’s such a precise spot that they couldn’t do anything.” Their leader slumps in defeat that mirrors Raven’s own. “I’m sorry to say, but you’re paralyzed from the neck down. C4 injury one of them said. The best we’ve been able to figure out is Gizmo and Cyborg collaborating to make you a wheelchair to try and give you some form of independence. Hopefully, your powers can fill in some gaps, but we don’t know if those have been affected too?”
Raven stares at him in horror before her eyes glow white and her hand black. They all watched as it seemed to move away from Starfire slightly before smacking limply back against her purple crop. A box of tissues flies across the room too. More things are thrown around the room within the next few minutes as Raven futilely tests the rest of her limbs, and just grows more and more frustrated when nothing moves more than a few inches before misfiring on something else. She is crying silent, defeated tears when a pair of scissors went flying and they finally beg her to stop. Starfire wraps her in a hug while being careful of her tubes, but that only makes her feel worse because She. Can’t. Hug. Back!
“What am I-- supposed to do…?” She wheezes into her girlfriend’s shoulder.
“You will be okay.” Starfire tries to assure. “We will figure this out.”
“How?!-- I can’t--move and my powers-- don’t work correctly!-- How am I-- supposed to do anything?-- What about missions?!”
“You will have to be off the field for a while like with any injury it will just be a bit longer than the average injury. I’m sure you’ll find a way to continue helping eventually.” Robin tries, not very good with these kinds of emotions, but wanting to be encouraging. Raven glares at him over Starfire’s shoulder in response though he so he just heads out the door. “I’ll go get Eir to check you over while I get the chair!” He announces before he can anger her more.
“He is just trying to help.” Starfire puts, knowing her girlfriend and friends well enough to know Raven did something to scare their leader away.
Raven uses the small amount of neck movement she has to try and turn her glare to the pinkette but just ends up pouting back instead before ultimately sighing. “I know. I think I’m-- allowed to be upset-- right now,-- but I shouldn’t-- take it out on him…”
“Exactly!” Starfire smiles before kissing the red gem on her forehead. “I am sure we will figure this out. I will be here to help as little or as much as you want me to the whole way too. ...Scratch at that as little or as much as you need me to. You are really very stubborn.” The alien girl glares playfully.
Raven can’t help but smile a little at the other calling her out. “I know when-- to ask for help, Star.”
“I am aware, but I also know you will not if it would injure your pride.” Starfire reminds.
Raven can’t help but chuckle at the call out even if she was still full of dread. “You know me too well.-- I trust you to-- keep my stubbornness-- in check then.”
“I will!” She smiles excitedly, happy she could make Raven smile even a little before pouting worriedly. “You will just make yourself more upset if we do not.”
Raven sighs, unable to deny it as a woman in a Norse-inspired costume that screamed healer walks in, shooing the boys out the door before turning to the couple.
“Good to see you’re awake, little bird.” The woman smiles at Raven before looking to Starfire for a moment before nodding. “I will allow you to stay if she prefers.”
Raven manages a weak imitation of a nod as she examines the newcomer who she assumes is Eir. Pretty blond curls, fierce green eyes, incredibly toned- could definitely kill a man with her thighs, bronze armor-inspired leather, shiny bronze sword on her hip. “She stays.” Raven croaks, wishing she could cuddle closer as the pinkette climbs into the bed next to her to hug her.
“Very well.” Eir smiles, a chart materializing in her hand. “So, I’ve been informed that you know the current situation. We were able to heal you enough to actually wake up, but given the delicate location of the injury, we were unable to do much else. I was told your powers are also misfiring? I have no way of knowing if that will stabilize or if you’re going to have to start over to get them back to where they were. We did witness your powers trying to heal you themselves and hypothesize that they might have healed something wrong in your teammates’ attempts to make sure you didn’t drown. You may be able to eventually gain enough movement for a simpler electric chair rather than the tube one the boys have made. Whether that be getting your fingers to move on a keypad or using your powers on a joystick, only time will tell. They also made a second one based on technology that is still being tested but has shown to be promising. They wanted your input first though before just giving you a tongue piercing to act as the joystick for the chair.”
Eir explains all of this while looking at Raven’s vitals and having Starfire help her to sit up to check he reactions and make sure there was no brain or general head injuries. Once she was satisfied with Raven’s state, all things considered, she nodded and cleared her to return to her room when ready.
“Any questions?” She asked as the chart vanished once more.
Raven was still in a state of shock as she flopped against her girlfriend who was already firing off questions.
“Are there any ways in which we can help? Are there any physical exercises I can help her do to help with the regaining of movements? What should we not do? Are there other difficulties we should look out for? What about the changing of clothes? Oh my glorb! Will she be able to swallow food? What about-”
“Whoa, whoa whoa!” Eir tried to calm the pinkette, holding up her hands in a placating manner. “One question at a time, sweethea-...” She noticed Raven’s glowing glare aimed at her. “-Starfire. What first?”
Starfire blinked her big green eyes in confusion when the healer seemed to stutter on her words, but shrugged it off. “Begin with the questions of how to help.”
The blonde nods. “While the physical and mental therapies are not my expertise, I know some people who can stop in and visit. The physical therapist can teach you all the exercises as well if that’s what Raven and your team want, but I highly suggest the psychologist be an ongoing thing especially with how closely linked her powers are to her emotions. It’s a big adjustment, and it’s only natural she has some feelings about it as well.” She realizes she’s talking as though Raven isn’t there, but taking one look at her shows the blunette has checked out so she continues. “Don’t let her be too stubborn and potentially hurt herself more, but if she wants alone time, let her have it and just give her a way of calling for someone. She gives off loner energy? Am I correct?”
Starfire nods in response, looking at Raven fondly as she pets through dark blue hair. “It took a long time for her to open up to us, yes. Especially me, but Beast Boy called that a ‘Gay Panic?’. She would usually be meditating, and it was very exciting when she would let me join her.”
“That’s perfect. This will be a very overwhelming time so allow her the alone time to breathe and center herself. Don’t be overbearing either. She seems like a very independent person so while there is a lot she won’t be able to do by herself, don’t go treating her like a baby. Either be casual about helping, or let her ask. Oh! And help her practice with her powers again. It could be good bonding time too for not only you two but the team as well.” Eir sighs now. “As for added difficulties...she will need help moving position every now and then to not develop sores. She will need the ventilator to breathe or she can get an Avery Diaphragm Pacing System as a less cumbersome option. She should be able to swallow, but should still be monitored just to be safe. She will need help with clothing. It is up to her who does it and the physical therapists will show you how in case there are certain ways...I would probably suggest investing in looser clothing than a skin-tight leotard.”
Starfire frowns worriedly, looking down at Raven and finally noticing she’s checked out. She nudges her lightly and repeats everything. “What are your thoughts?” She asks softly.
Raven just blinks tiredly before sighing. “The Aviary Stage-- Pacer Test-- or whatever-- sounds good...and the tongue piercing.-- I want to be-- as independent as possible.-- Might as well --while I’m here, right?” She says with a dry laugh.
Starfire hugs her close at the defeated sound before looking back up at Eir. “I suppose she will be staying a bit longer then?”
Eir smiles sadly, nodding. “Yes. Luckily none of the medics and healers have left yet so she should have basically no recovery time on the Avery. Cyborg and Gizmo went a little crazy on the tongue controls so any color or charm you may want?”
Raven tries to shrug before scowling when she remembers that she can’t. “I guess just match-- them to the rest of the-- jewels on my outfits.” She mutters.
“They figured you’d say that. I’ll leave all of you with care instructions then, and the boys went wild with making you tech in general so we don’t even have to wait for the part to come in. I’ll go get the needed material, and we’ll get started right away.” Eir nods to Raven before looking to Starfire. “I’ll let you stay here until I come back with the team and we wheel her out.” She hums before walking out.
Starfire notices Raven’s muscles spasming and as she looks at the paler girl’s face, she knows she would have deflated if she could and assumes that’s what the spasming is. “Oh, Raven.” She sighs, hugging her close. Her arm muscles spasm again and a frustrated groan sends objects crashing around the room.
Starfire shushes her softly as she wraps Raven’s arms around her since the bluenette can’t on her own. Raven lets out a sigh, mumbling her thanks. “That’s going to-- be what irritates me-- the most.”
“I know. You have a rather grumpy outside, but you start most of the acts of physical affection. I will do my best to make up for it.” Starfire smiles, pulling away just enough so Raven can see her face. “I think I have become rather good at reading your face.”
Raven can’t help but smile at her girlfriend’s words. “Huh,-- I must be going-- soft then if I’m-- that easy to read.”
Starfire bumps their noses together, trying for teasing when she giggles. “Not at all. You are still very much an intimidating force of darkness.”
Raven chuckles. “You are-- a terrible liar.”
Starfire fake gasps. “I am doing no such thing. I am sure you will look even more so with your new piercing, too.” Her eyes light up as she beams. “Like a dark queen on her iron throne!”
Raven winces, but still can’t help the exasperated exhale that might have been a shocked chuckle. “You-- and your optimism.” She utilizes her little neck movement to touch their foreheads together. “Thank you.-- I’ll be-- needing that.”
Starfire giggles at Raven’s little act of affection and smiles at her fondly. “I will do my best in keeping it up then for my Dark Queen. Good thing I began joining you in meditation after the Puppet Master incident. I can assist you in your exercises if you get stuck in your head.”
Raven smiles at her girlfriend as Eir walks back in with a few other people. “Please don’t make that-- a new pet name.” She sighs in fake exasperation as she’s laid back on the bed. “Thank-- you, though.”
“I will be here when you return.” The pinkette smiles lovingly before putting on a fake stern face. “Do not attempt to intimidate the doctors.”
“No promises,” Raven smirks as she’s wheeled out of the room, and can’t help her fond sigh as she hears her girlfriend’s scolding huff from down the hall.
~~~
“Ra-n...Raven...Raven! Can you hear us?”
Raven grumbles at someone calling for her to wake up and attempts to pull the blanket over her head. When she can’t, she has a repeat of her first reaction when she woke up the first time before memories come rushing back and she groans, coughing at the sound.
“It wasn’t a dream was it?” She still sounds scratchy and horse but less out of breath and instead just sounding a little slurred.
“No. Unfortunately, it was not.” Starfire sighs. “I am sorry.”
A rush of emotions comes cascading over Raven, and she groans again. “Don’t freak out, I just don’t have any other ideas of how to deal with this. Can you guys step outside?”
Everyone looks at her in concern, but Starfire just nods, having been watching her closely. “Yes, of course. Be careful to not injure yourself.” She smiles in what she hopes is a comforting way before turning to the healers and tech gurus in the room. “Out.” She’s still smiling sweetly even as her hands glow green making everyone run out.
Starfire leans down to kiss Raven on the forehead. “Call us when you are ready,” before following the others out the door and shutting it behind her.
For the next few minutes, they all hear choked off, rasped out screaming, and things crashing. Luckily nothing sounds too heavy, but the healers are still looking at Starfire and Cyborg in concern. Eventually, it goes quiet and it’s only thanks to someone’s enhanced hearing that they hear Raven tell them to come back in.
Starfire floats to her girlfriend’s side, once again careful of her machines as she settles next to her for comfort while everyone else files back into the room in states of confusion and shock. The room was a disaster zone of papers and lightweight items, and it was obvious to everyone that she had let loose with her powers and screaming, the loss of control probably being the only thing keeping the heavy machines safe.
“Do you feel better, Raven?” Starfire asks, brushing the other’s sweat-coated hair out of her face.
“It helped.” Raven sighs even raspier before moving her eyes to the healers. “So did it work?”
The healers were either blinking in shock or trying to make sense of the paperwork until finally, Eir stepped forward. “Um, yes. Everything seems to be working well, and I guess we can count,” she gestures to the chaos around her, “that as a success for the Pacer. Between your own enhanced healing and the healers on hand, recovery time isn’t really an issue. We should test the chair controls though if you’re up for it. I’m sure the boys did great, but this is still not exactly widespread tech, and you need to get used to the controls. So what do you say?”
Raven’s eyes move to the chair in the corner that was saved from her wrath only by its weight. “Might as well.”
“Excellent, let’s get you transferred over then.” Eir nods, stepping aside to introduce the physical therapist before going to retrieve the rest of the team so they could learn as well.
Once the team is gathered, they’re shown how to go about transferring Raven from bed to chair and back. She agrees to let them practice a few times for the sake of everyone involved but asks if she can wait until tomorrow to start learning the chair. Her human interaction meter is officially tapped.
“I really just want to go back to my room.” Raven sighs.
“We were honestly surprised you gave them time to practice. Go on and get some rest, hun. I’ll be back in the morning.” The physical therapist, Thadius, grins, getting her settled in the chair once more. “At least your girlfriend has super-strength so you don’t have to play wrecking ball again. “
Raven manages to smile fondly if not tiredly. “Yeah, I’m a little tired of the sling...See you tomorrow I guess.”
Starfire takes this as her cue to help wheel her out while saying good night to the others. “Do not let the bed bugs bite.” She smiles on the way.
Raven gives a tired hum before letting her head flop back the second they’re out the door. “Too many people.” She groans.
“You did wonderously, though! To be truthful, I thought you would have snapped sooner, but you stayed nice the whole time.” Starfire smiles down at her.
“I got most of it out when screaming earlier.” The darker of the two admits.
“I thought that would be of help.” The pinkette nods, opening Raven’s door. “Would you like me to stay or would you like to be alone?”
“Affection,” Raven mumbles, trying to call her pajamas to her out of habit, but instead smacking Starfire in the face with them. “Uggggh! ...Sorry.”
“You are alright. I saw them begin to glow.” Star just smiles, unfolding the PJs before pausing with a frown. “We forgot to ask about the changing of clothes.”
Raven just groans. “See if BlueTube has anything.”
“Oh! That is a good idea!” The other perks back up as she brings out her communicator and starts tapping away. “...I have found a woman assisting her husband.” Sound starts coming from the phone’s speaker. “It seems to be like the sling.”
“Do whatever you have to. I just want to sleep.”
“Alright.” Starfire nods in determination, switching the hoodie for an equally soft button-up pajama top before carefully pulling Raven forward to rest against her. She hesitates before undoing the hospital gown but mentally shakes herself. ‘You are just helping.’ She lets the top of the gown drop to Raven’s lap before she pulls the shirt around and gets her arms in, letting her rest once more to button the front. Pants are a slightly more awkward ordeal that requires a different video, but soon enough Raven is in her PJs and being placed in bed with necessary machines to the side.
“That was not too bad.” Starfire grins excitedly, proud of herself as she turns off the lights before floating over to snuggle against her girlfriend.
“Yeah...thought it would be more difficult.” Raven yawns. “Do I need anything else?”
“Uhhhh…” Starfire lets go and there is a light and more tapping. “Allow me to grab more pillows.” She says before floating around the room and disappearing to hers for a moment before coming back. “Some more padding is needed in bonier areas.”
“So all of me?” Raven chuckles.
“Only at your joints. How did Beastboy say it?” Starfire hums as she floats around placing pillows where needed. “Buff big tiddie goth girlfriend.”
If the lights were on, Starfire would be able to see Raven’s face flame red. “Please never repeat anything he says ever again. I wish I could smack him.”
“He is only joking.” Starfire giggles, settling next to her once more and cuddling her close. “Would you like me to throw a pillow at him in the morning?”
“Have I mentioned I love you?” Raven sighs happily.
“Love you, too.” Starfire giggles, kissing her cheek before they settle down and are asleep soon after.
~Six Months Later~
“Four goons around the next left corner, Robin.” Raven hums through her mouthpiece as she scans her various screens. Fingers typing at a keyboard as she uses her piercing to switch through screens.
As soon as she had the hang of her new tongue controls, she immediately started plotting with Cyborg on how she could still help. She learned they could adjust her headgear to more of a braces setup and program each tooth to a different command. Once they had this established, Cyborg went wild on making her little camera companions of ravens and spiders and really any creature that fit her aesthetic. With these, she could now stay at the tower and act as surveillance through the eyes of her robotic pets, and sometimes lend a hand in terms of her giant black wolfhound going feral or her raven swooping down to peck and claw. She had to say, having a half-robot with robotics knowledge as a close friend definitely had its perks.
With physical therapy, she had at least regained movement in her hands and forearms and could sometimes get her leg to jerk out when one of the boys was being annoying or the dog AI Cyborg installed in her hound wanted to play. She also had more range of motion to her neck to be able to see all her screens so got to see the sharp jab Robin delivered to a goon’s gut as his boomerang took out another.
“Thanks, Raven.” He buzzes through the earpiece.
“Yeah...duck.” She warns.
She switches to Starfire’s screen after assuring that Robin had his end covered. “Hey.”
“Raven!” The pinkette whisper-cheers. “How are things?”
“Everyone has their wings covered. Everything is good on my end. I just wanted to check on my pretty girlfriend.” Raven smiles calmly.
She hears a small squeak from the other end and can see Star’s eyes glow a little brighter. “I am still un-used to you being so openly affectionate.” Starfire giggles.
“I have a form of control of my powers again and pillows always within reach of them. No one is going to dare say anything, and you were there for the existential crisis of almost losing each other. You’ve helped me through all of this including bathing and other things. I appreciate it, I have to make sure you know that.” She chuckles. “Plus you’re cute when you blush.”
There’s another embarrassing squeal as Starfire floats more to the ceiling, and they can hear exasperated groans.
“You know you’re on the public line, right?” Beastboy groans.
“And?” Raven quirks a brow on her end.
“Leave it, dude. She’ll send her spiders in your room again.” Cyborg warns.
“...Nothing.” Beastboy sighs. “Am I clear up ahead? He reeks in here and it’s messing with my nose.”
Raven looks to his screen, tapping her left incisor to zoom in. “I don’t see anything…” She swipes the same tooth and the heat sensor turns on. “No heat signatures. You’re good.”
“Thanks, man.” His buzzing cutting out.
“You’re good, too, Cyborg, though stay closer to the walls. There’s a leaky pipe and I think you’re waiting on sealant?”
“Thanks, Raven! You rock!” He whisper-grins before his buzzing leaves too.
“What did we say about threatening the boys with mechanical bugs?” An almost smug smile can be heard through Starfire’s connection.
“...Only for major offenses.” Raven huffs.
“Teasing us for being sappy is not one.” Starfire giggles.
Raven just huffs before an explosion happens on Robin’s line and they all jump into action with Raven’s raven flying over head all the while.
~~~
“We have returned!” Starfire cheers as the team enters the common room, everyone covered in soot and grime.
“Hey.” Raven smiles as she turns her chair to faces the others, a fluffy black cat robot in her lap for the aesthetic of it.
The boys give various greetings and words of thanks before excusing themselves to clean up.
Starfire stays behind to float over to her girlfriend for a kiss. “You did amazing, Raven!” She smiles fondly at the other.
Raven’s cheeks flush slightly but she returns the smile nonetheless. “Thanks. You guys did, too.”
“And it is thanks to you.”
“Nah, I just fill in the gaps. You guys do most of the work.”
Starfire pouts as she boops her girlfriend’s nose. “Beastboy would have been stab if your raven did not swoop in to rescue him.”
“Hmm, really? I didn’t notice. Just felt like clawing that guy’s face.” She smirks, knowing it’s riling the other up.
“One of these days you will admit you like his company.” Starfire sighs, picking the other up to go to Raven’s room, but has really become more their shared room.
“I would say when pigs fly, but I think he could make that happen.” Raven sighs in mock defeat, letting the limbs she has movement in flop dramatically.
“If not him then most likely Cyborg.” The pinkette agrees as Raven uses her powers to open the door ahead of them.
“They would work together on it,” Raven adds as she and her machines are placed on the bed.
“I have no doubts.” Starfire giggles as she gets some of her clothes to go use the shower. “Would you like me to help you take one as well?”
Raven chuckles at the mental image of Cyborg trying to strap a jet pack to a green pig before the nods. “I’d like that, yeah.”
The pinkette grabs one of the long cloaks Raven has switched to and taking them to the bathroom before collecting her girlfriend once more. “You can practice on the bathing products some more.” She smiles.
“As long as you don’t try to switch my pomegranate shampoo out for your strawberry again.” Raven smirks, knowing full well she didn’t mean to the first time.
“That was an accident!” Starfire whines before the door seal them away, leaving them alone in their own little world.

So for my mob se au mob and teru are both weapons and are partnered up. Teru is a rapier and mob is a metal bo staff. Ritsu is a weapon too but a late bloomer, I think he is also a some kind of staff (I was thinking about making the brothers guns too but I'll have to think on that one I haven't thought the au out too much)
Shou is ritsu's meister and tome is mezato's hmm but I haven't figured out what weapon she would be. I think tsubomi is a meister too but I think I'm gonna partner her with someone random, maybe she was partnered with mob as his weapon form in the past but she moved on from him after some soul searching (hdhdhfh that phrase is so funny in this context) and he wanted to play his hand at meistering as well after meeting teru + fighting with him (because in his youth he used to be his brother's meister)
Reigen is a professor and a meister but not a very capable one (fake it til you make it) he pretty much goes through partners like nobody else because of his rather inconsistent wavelength and annoying tendencies, but when he finally partners with serizawa as his weapon he sticks with a partner for longer than like 3 to 6 months at a time
Now I'm not sure if I would make this a standalone au or have there be some character parallels between universes so..
I think claw can parallel pretty well with arachnophobia (oh I'm going by anime se not manga I've never read the manga, a crime really) but in a different kind of way? Idk who to parallel as crona other than serizawa maybe shou but hm. We'll see. Also is toichirou a Medusa or arachne parallel oh lord
If I'm not doing parallels in the au and I'm going along with something more original then I think I'll make toichirou a witch so shou is a half witch but nobody is aware of that fact
Serizawa is a weapon (I think I would make him some kind of shield or hammer or literally just make him a steel umbrella hdhdbfbf) in a family that has served the Suzuki's for a long time and decides to break away after meeting mob and crew
Let's see anything else...well for right now that's it thank you for coming to my ramble

Satisfied, Part 36

Marinette tipped her head to the side, a phone pressed to her ear for an excuse to talk to them as she wandered through the streets. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Red Hood groaned. “C’mon, we know something happened! Just tell us!”
“The guy was put in Arkham, how is that our fault?” Complained Robin.
“Because he was claiming Ladybug killed him!”
Her grip tightened on the phone. “And yet he was alive. Maybe he belonged there,” she said. Her eyes flicked to a group of men in suits and she cringed. “Right, looks like my ride’s here.”
“Don’t avoid this!”
“Gotta go -- don’t touch me with that if you know what’s good for you -- bye!”
She ‘hung up’ and dropped the phone in her pocket, careful not to look away from what was probably a tranquilizer.
She put her hands up in surrender. “Guys, I thought we went over this last time. It’s fine, I’ll behave. You don’t need to stick me.”
“New orders.”
She tensed. New orders? Had the Rogues found her out? She didn’t think that she had done anything to tip them off, they shouldn’t have been able to, but this didn’t feel like their normal way of dealing with her.
But she couldn’t run. That was only more suspicious. And she had a sneaking suspicion there was people behind her to catch her if she did, if the prickling feeling under her skin was any indication.
This one wasn’t as strong as the first one, but that didn’t mean much. It didn’t make her pass out instantaneously, only made it extremely difficult for her to form coherent thoughts. Well, hopefully they weren’t going to be interrogating her. She didn’t know if she’d even be able to wake up enough to form words.
And then she saw his face and a scream slipped from her lips.
Paper-white skin was stretched grotesquely over the man’s face, leaving folds and flat planes where there definitely shouldn’t have been; at the edges the face was peeling off, only held on by a few staples. Cherry lips were pulled into a grin that was far too wide to be humanly possible.
She pulled her knees to her chest and curled inward on herself in the chair they’d put her in. Maybe if she did that enough she’d collapse in on herself and she wouldn’t have to look at him anymore.
A hand rested on her shoulder and she looked up to see Harley. The woman knelt down to be eye-level with her. “Don’t worry, darlin’, you’ll get used to it.”
She didn’t want to get used to it, but okay.
She hesitantly put her hand out to shake. “Nice to finally meet you, Joker.”
He took her hand and kissed it (or, at least, that was what she thought he was trying to do, in reality he just knocked his teeth against her skin). “And you, NightMare. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
She nodded slightly and waited for his grip to slacken on her hand to pull away.
The man seemed to consider her for a moment before pushing himself to stand at his full height.
She allowed herself to breathe again.
She looked around and frowned. The energy in the room was far more muted than usual. Most of the Rogues were almost hiding against the walls, backs pressed against them as if hoping that the building would swallow them whole. Even Penguin looked like he was trying his hardest to disappear, his knuckles white with how tightly he gripped his umbrella.
She looked up to see Harley and couldn’t help but cringe at the smitten look in her eyes. She was the only one in the center of the room with her and Joker, and she seemed to almost be reveling in the feeling. Marinette had heard of her ‘relationship’ with him and she wanted nothing more than to grab the woman and take her as far away as possible.
She settled for standing between them, smiling innocently as she hugged Harley around the middle. “I was beginning to think you forgot about me!”
The woman beamed and hugged back. “Of course not, darlin’!”
Her smile dropped as Joker handed her a gun.
“Euh?” She mumbled, knitting her eyebrows together as she took it.
“Harls just told me you haven’t had your debut yet!”
Her shoulders tensed slightly but she forced a smile. “I wanted to have some sort of big debut, wouldn’t want to ruin it when there’s only three months left.”
Joker gave her a laugh and rested a hand on her shoulder. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end. “Maybe, but I want to make sure you won’t flake out on us when the big day comes.”
“I won’t.”
“Then prove it.”
She swallowed thickly. Now all the Rogues were looking at her, watching her flounder for an excuse. She could see the doubt forming in their eyes the longer she went without answering. Damn. Her whole plan hinged on them trusting her, and they had yet to tell her what their plan was beyond the fact that the Wayne Gala was involved somehow.
She wondered if she should tell them she killed someone. It was a pretty good indicator of general badness. Problem was, she knew that the bats were listening intently to the conversation while they wandered on patrols. If she admitted to this, they’d question her, and eventually they’d find out that Robin had been killed. That wasn’t her secret to tell.
So her only real option was...
Marinette gave a little bow, her eyes trained on the floor. “As you wish.”
~
She opened a portal to just outside the convenience store and couldn’t help but cringe as she saw who was on duty. It was the clerk who had helped her get the right supplies when she’d been shot. Great. So now she had to traumatize a genuinely nice person.
Also herself, possibly, but she was going to try and avoid that if she could.
Her hand went to the gun Joker had given her. She wouldn’t have to kill anyone. It was a robbery. Those were common, people knew how to react. It shouldn’t go wrong.
She glanced back at where the Rogues were all smiling at her and giving her thumbs up. ‘Good luck’. Too bad she never had that.
She closed the portal and pulled out the gun and a burlap sack she could use to hold the money and food in (Harley had asked for skittles, Marinette intended to deliver).
She stepped inside and shot out the lights, which was met by screaming. She tried not to look at the mother shielding her kid, at the group of teenagers who were cowering in a corner, at the clerk who was anxiously opening the cash register.
She swallowed thickly, tears threatening to spill over as she walked past the mother and child to pick up a pack of skittles and dropped it in her bag.
“No one needs to get hurt. Everyone, drop your money in front of you and I’ll come to collect it.”
This was a good area. Hopefully they could all afford the loss.
Everyone hastily pulled out their wallets and she raised her eyebrows as she shot the wall next to one of the teens. “No calling the police. Drop your phone, please.”
The oldest nodded and let their phone fall to the ground.
She walked over and leaned down to pick up the phone, only to hear shuffling above her. She looked up just in time to get punched in the nose.
A curse slipped from her lips and she stumbled back. It didn’t really hurt, the punch was pretty weak, but she found tears coming to her eyes anyways. Her back hit a shelf and she winced.
She gave a sigh and brought her gun up to point at them.
“Funny,” she said, giving a tense smile. Marinette raised an eyebrow as the teen advanced a step. “Do you have a death wish?”
The teen -- no, a closer examination showed she was a preteen at most -- glared at her and took another step forward.
She raised her eyebrows and moved her gun to point at one of her friends, and nodded to herself when the kid tensed.
“I won’t hurt any of you,” she promised.
The kid looked her in the eyes and Marinette found herself looking away, reaching down to pick up their phone and wallets. She cringed as she saw that the phone was still dialed for 911. She pressed it to her ear.
“Ha! Got you! Suckers!” She said.
“Prank calling the police is a crime, young lady.”
“Oh. Oops.” She hung up and dropped the phone again.
She had a strong suspicion that her ‘lol it was just a prank call’ thing hadn’t worked. She was going to have to move faster.
She walked around the store, scooping up wallet after wallet, until she reached the clerk.
Marinette took a glance back and then stuck out her sack. “Drop the money in, please.” She heard sirens in the distance. She could hope it was some other random thing going on, they were in Gotham and all, but she didn’t think she’d be that lucky. “Quickly.”
The man outright pulled out the tray and started dumping it into her bag, eyes wide with fear.
She nodded when he finished and removed her bag, tying a knot at the top.
A flash of movement.
She looked back up and the clerk beaned her with the metal tray. She hit the floor. Her gun hand came up to threaten them.
But there was no gun.
She made a strangled sound in the back of her throat as she looked around, finding it a few feet away. She moved towards it and another hit made lights dance in front of her eyes.
She barely dodged the next hit, rolling to the side and cringing. Now the gun was even further away. The clerk was standing between her and it.
Marinette backed up on the floor until her head hit the wall. She could take quite a few more hits than the average person, but that didn’t mean much if this guy was going to clobber her until she inevitably passed out.
(TW: murder, just skip to the next chapter if you don’t want to read that)
He brought his hands up to hit her again and she opened a portal, watching him fall through it.
She closed it too soon.
There was a sickening sound as he was cut in half. Blood splattered her clothes as she watched both pieces fall to the ground.
Marinette wanted to stay. She wouldn’t have cared about giving herself away as Ladybug if it meant bringing this man back, but the sirens were getting closer and closer.
She dove across the floor for her gun. She stood up slowly, her eyes looking around. All their horrified expressions, the kids she had definitely scarred for life, and... his body, split in half with a look of surprise forever stuck on his face.
She opened a portal underneath her...
And tried not to think about the fact that the edges were coated in red.
~~~
man Marinette is really just not having a good time
wish i could do something about that
Strawberry Sundae
Summary: It's story time! Have you ever wondered why Dante affectionate strawberry sundaes so much? Well Patty has and luckily for her, he is about to tell her. It will just cost her a small favour. A man got to pay his debts remember.
Tags: ANGST (but with some very cute moments) / Dante’s childhood /  childhood trauma
Author’s note: This is my take on Dante’s origins and also my first time writing for the Devil May Cry fandom. I hope I did it right and that you will love it. Set whenever you want but definitely after the DMC Anime. I made the reader female (in case I write a sequel. I have ideas for one, just tell me if you want one), but it can definitely be read as Gen!Reader if you make some small changes.
           To most people Patty Lowell looked so cute and angelic with her girly lacy dresses and her silk ribbons in her baby blond hair they’d think butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. But to Dante, she was the most annoying brat that ever walked this earth and, even though he would never admit it, also one of his dearest friends. And like all his friends, he owed her big.             “I’ll erase that from your tab.” She said as she swallowed a spoonful of vanilla ice cream.   “Oh c’mon! You keeping counts now?” Dante harrumphed and watched the kid wipe her mouth like a very distinguished lady. “You spend too much time with Lady.”   “Not too much. Just enough to know you owe me a trip to the beach, two dresses, a dozen ice cream cones and six strawberries sundaes” She counted on her fingers and Dante sighed as he slouched in the fake-leather seat of Freddy’s diner. “Well, you can’t have it all now, can you?”       “You’ve been saying this for months. And for months you’ve been eating hundreds of sundaes and bought none for me.” She grumbled, staring at him with a pout as he nonchalantly took the strawberry on top of his sundae to eat it, eyes closed to savour the sweetness of the fruit in his mouth. “What’s with your obsession with strawberry sundaes anyway?” She asked, genuinely curious. After all, even after spending so much time with Dante, watching him evolve in his natural habitat (meaning the Devil May Cry) and coming to the conclusion that Dante was a very unique species of man, one that whose diet was only based on pizzas and strawberry sundaes and that knew nothing of women, Patty still hadn’t figured why he was the way he was.   Dante opened an eye to see her impatiently waiting for an answer. “If I tell you, would you consider erasing … let’s say six sundaes of my tab?” He smirked, knowing Patty would not resist the curiosity to know more about him.             “That could be arranged. But your story better be good!”
STRAWBERRY SUNDAE
                 One more step and this would be the furthest Dante had ever been from his house. Of course, he had dared follow Vergil down to that weird old man’s house to secretly spy on his brother, wondering what was so interesting and fun in keeping a wrinkly company but he had never stepped a foot in the city. Never could. The only time he had tried and had somehow managed to go down the hill of his red home without tumbling down the steep rocky stairs and lay even just a toe on the urban pavement he was now standing on, his father and his sharp demonic earring had found him and brought him back home with a firm grip around the collar of his white shirt. Sparda had scolded him so much that day that even Vergil hadn’t dared smirking.       But here he was. Wet, trembling and cold, under a pouring rain, wondering where to go, what to do, both feet on the pavement, his tiny arms holding on tight to his father’s sword which was way bigger than he was. He had never been so terrified, so alert, his blue eyes widened and scanning all his surroundings in every direction possible like a poor defenceless animal fearing for its life, wondering if a deadly predator was secretly watching him crouched in the thickest shadow, the same kind of predator that took his mother and brother away from him.                 He wanted to call for help, ask someone, anyone for guidance but he didn’t know whom to trust or if he could trust anyone. All he knew was that he had to be strong, that he had to be a big boy, a man. That’s what his mother had told him before leaving, before … A tear streamed down his childish face. Not the first one tonight. He wiped it with his sooty knuckle but a new one appeared, bigger and more painful. It stung his eye and he cried harder. A devil should not cry but he was so tired. And he wanted his mama. And he wanted his big brother. But they were gone and behind him, his house up the hill was just a pile of smoking ash and burnt bricks.
“Why are you crying?” Dante jumped and his small yet strong grip grabbed a hold of Rebellion’s hilt. It took his eyes a short second to fall upon the face of a little girl holding a green frog-shaped umbrella above both their heads. “Are you lost?”  She said as she tried to catch a glimpse of Dante’s face hidden behind layers of soot and wet hair. “Is it a real sword?”         “Don’t touch it!” Dante growled, pressing his father’s sword tighter against his chest, shielding it from the curious child as she tried to put her fingers on the legendary weapon. It had seen Vergil do that countless of times. And though it never worked with him, it formidably worked with the child in front of him. “It’s my dad’s.”         “Is your dad a knight?” She questioned with amazed (colour) eyes, imagining heroes in shining armours resembling the ones in the stories her mother would read her before bed. “My dad is the Legendary Dark Knight.” Dante spat, scowling behind his silver hair falling over his eyes, a pitiful and vain attempt at sending the little girl packing. After all, to her eyes, he didn’t look impressive at all, more like a wet small kitten that someone had abandoned in the street.     She shrugged “My dad doesn’t have a sword and he is not a legendary dark prince or whatever but he has a mighty spatula and his strawberry sundaes are the best in the whole kingdom!” She exclaimed with an over-the-top enthusiasm that made Dante’s weary frown even more pronounced. “That’s the name of my father’s diner.” She pointed at the pinkish red neon sign across the street. Kingdom’s diner. “You’re hungry?” Dante thought he wasn’t until he heard a rumbling in his tummy. Yes, maybe he was even though his heart was preoccupied by other things than hunger. “Come on. Follow me.”         He hesitated for a few seconds, watching the girl cross the crowded street in her way-too-large yellow oilskin - which was probably not hers now that he thought about it – and feeling the rain pouring on his shivering body again. “Well? What are you waiting for?”           With one last look at his destroyed home up on the hill, Dante finally took a step towards the girl waiting for him by the warm neon lights of the diner. And he took another step, and another, feeling a weird weight forming in his stomach. A mix of apprehension and hope. Apprehension of what’s waiting in this unknown land and hope that his father would suddenly appear and bring him back home. But once more, Sparda never showed up and the child was left alone.   Dante had never ventured that far away from home but he had no home anymore, right?
                 The diner was warm and cosy, with red plastic booth seats and speckled grey linoleum-covered tables that were incredibly clean and shiny. On the walls there were vintage-like pictures of old cars, old advertisements and old Hollywood stars who were almost all complete strangers to Dante apart from a glamorous blond woman with a weird mole and another one with a tiara and a cigarette holder. Pretty sure he had seen them both in some boring movies he had seen – or slept through - with his mother and Vergil. Mama. Vergil. He missed them already. Terribly.
A new tear fell along his cold cheek and Dante looked down, devastated that he would never see them again; guilty that he could not save them, angry that his father had not been there to protect them. And with his wet sorrow came scorching flashes and piercing screams. But soon they were covered by the sound of weird music sizzling in a machine that looked like from another time. “I always listen to music when I feel bad. I like music. Do you like music?” She was impossibly chatty but deep down Dante knew it was only to take his mind off whatever she thought he was thinking about. After all, he would use the same trick on his brother. “There are a hundred of songs in this jukebox.” So that was this hellish machine was. A jukebox. “Pick one. I’ll make some strawberry sundae” She smiled and disappeared behind the counter which was way too high for Dante to see what she was doing. “Oh but don’t play the music too loud. My parents are sleeping upstairs.”
He didn’t know how it worked but he thought that pushing a button would do the trick. And so he did. And he almost fell on his butt when the jukebox started shaking and doing weird sizzling noises. Had he just broken it? “I… I” He mumbled pointing at the machine and the girl’s childish head popped up from behind the counter a bit like a funny rabbit leaves his hole. “Kick it!” She said and Dante looked at her, harrumphed and unsure he had heard right. His mother never allowed him to kick anything … especially not Vergil … and he kicked Vergil a lot … because he deserved it.                 “There!” The girl approached and gave the dying machine a small yet firm kick that made it come back to life. “It does that sometimes.”
“What’s with all the racket?” A loud voice growled and a man with tousled and sparse black hair appeared from upstairs. Only wearing an old navy blue robe over a white t-shirt and a pair of checked slippers, he looked asleep and yet angry. “Y/N what are you doing … up?” His somewhat aggressiveness turned into confusion when he saw Dante standing next to his beloved daughter.  He blinked a couple times and shook his head to make sure he was perfectly awake and not dreaming. What was this boy doing in his restaurant? All wet and covered in soot? “Who are you?” He managed to voice.       Dante opened his mouth though unsure what to answer. “He’s my friend.” The girl replied. “Your friend?” She nodded vigorously. “I was making him a strawberry sundae.”
If there was two things Mister Y/LN had a soft spot for, it was food – sugary and greasy food – and his precious daughter Y/N. She was his little princess, his only daughter, the apple of his eye (even when there was sleep crust in its corner like right now). He could not refuse her anything and could not stay mad at her for more than a couple of minutes to the great disappointment of his wife.  And even though he knew it was wrong, he couldn’t help it.           “Y/N” He sighed and went to kneel in front of his daughter. “You cannot invite a little boy that late at night. I’m sure his parents must be very worried.” He glanced at Dante who looked down his brown boots hiding his eyes yet again behind his silver hair. What curious hair. “But since he is here, let’s eat those strawberry sundaes.” The little girl grinned and ran back to finish her creamy dessert with an enthusiasm that made the man smile for a small second.
Even though Mister Y/LN was weak for his daughter he was still a man of reason. Something deep in his guts was telling him something was wrong with that kid and the last thing he wanted was trouble. Who was he? Where did he come from? What happened to him? Where were his parents? Was he some kind of street kid? A child of drug dealers from the rough areas of Red Grave? Should he call the police? Maybe so. Certainly so. They would certainly know what to do. It was their job after all. He was just a cook, a sleepy cook. What could he do, except offering that scrawny kid a strawberry sundae? “Why don’t you sit, boy?” He waved at the stool and Dante climbed on it without saying a word. “I’ll be right back.”
“So what’s your name?” The little girl said as she placed two coupe glasses filled with cream, ice cream and strawberries right before Dante’s eyes that immediately ogled at the dessert with greediness. So much sugar, so much cream, so many strawberries. He loved chocolate, but this, this looked like even better than chocolate and his stomach seemed to agree.       Excited to taste it, he went to grab the spoon that was placed by the couple but was immediately stopped. “Wait. I’m not done.” Y/N shouted and, with a frown and the tip of her pink tongue out, cautiously topped both sundaes with a cherry and two pink wafers. “There. Now you can eat it.” She barely had time to finish the sentence that Dante quickly stuffed a generous spoonful in his tiny mouth. OH GOD! If his mother saw him right now eating so much sugar in the middle of the night she would be furious. But this was the most delicious thing in the world. After pizza of course.       He ate another spoonful, and another, humming after each, as he was slowly reaching a comforting sugary paradise. “I’m guessing you like it.” The little girl giggled, laughing at his mouth as round as a balloon and the cream running from the corner of his lips. Dante froze at the laugh and stare at her with a blush creeping up his inflated cheeks until he swallowed with a big gulp. “Yeah.” He confessed and Y/N smiled at the small amount of joy she caught in his childish voice.   “You still haven’t told me your name. I’m Y/N by the way.” She reached out to shake his hand and Dante stared at it for a few seconds, remembering what his mother had told him as she hid him a wardrobe.
You must change your name. Forget your past and start a new life as someone else. But who could he be? And could he be someone else? After all, he had always been Dante, the restless daredevil son of Sparda and Eva and annoying little brother to Vergil who always picked a fight for fun and found ways to be involved in new kinds of mischiefs.               There was a silence, heavy and pregnant, as the boy tried to answer the questions in his confused little head and as the girl patiently waited for him to talk. And only the lively music from the jukebox could be heard in the room. And it sang to Dante ‘Hey there Anthony boy. Why are you in such a rush (go!). The girl, she wanna talk to you. Look at him, how he blush (go!)’ giving birth to his new identity. A new beginning.               “I’m Anthony.” He finally grabbed her hand and she shook it with a smile that he tried to mimic. An effort he thought he would have never done tonight but that he did for her. Calm down, Tony me boy. “Tony for short.”         “Well nice to meet you, Tony. I’m sure we’re going to be good friends.”
And with a new spoonful of strawberry sundae he said goodbye to Dante. Hey there, Anthony boy!
***
“That was a lovely story, Dante. Sad but lovely.” Patty finally declared after being incredibly silent during Dante’s childhood story. A first. “Glad you liked it.” Dante said with a small smile that was barely concealing the sadness that this memory had brought back. “So does that mean those six sundaes are off my tab?”               “I guess so.” She shrugged as she drank the ice cream in her coupe. “Great.” He winked and stood up, throwing a bill on the table before putting his long red coat on.  “So … you love strawberry sundaes because they were the first things that gave you comfort after you lost your mom?”           “No, I love strawberry sundaes because they remind me why humans are sometimes worth fighting for.”
But mostly, he liked them because they reminded him of someone who had helped him build a new life, someone who had given him kindness, generosity and love when he thought that all he could expect from life was sorrow and pain. They reminded him of you.     Yes, that’s why he loved strawberry sundaes.
Prompt 33 – Tasting their smile for TyHil, requested by @rainbow-pearls
(This was a really difficult one to write, sorry to keep you waiting for so long Simy! I just couldn’t decide the setting for this prompt and then we got a little bit of rain in my city today and voila, this was written! Hope you like it 💖)
X
They ran as fast they could, their hands tightly holding onto the other and their feet creating large splashes against the wet pavement as the rain continued to fall heavily, with the clouds showing no mercy to the two teenagers who had forgotten to carry their umbrellas to school during Typhoon season. Tyson made sure to tighten his grip around Hilary’s hand after every few minutes to ensure that it wouldn’t slip out of his slippery grasp, with the sound of the raindrops thundering around in his ear already giving him a headache, he was sure he wouldn’t be able to handle her shouting at him as well. Of course, he had Grandpa to blame for all of this, as the old man had thought it funny to replace Tyson’s umbrella with a bamboo sword early in the morning and in a rush to reach school on time, the navy haired boy had completely forgotten to carry one, on the one day that the weather forecast had turned out to be completely accurate. He didn’t know the reason behind why Hilary had turned up sans umbrella today, as she was usually the type to follow these forecasts diligently, and he hadn’t had a chance to ask her either as she was the reason the two had dashed out in the rain, and were now soaking wet from head to toe, and gasping for breath with every step they took.
It was difficult for Tyson to say no to her when she asked for favours by leaning in close and looking at him with her huge, bright eyes. So even though he had known from the moment they stepped foot in the rain, that they would never make it to Hilary’s cram school no matter how fast they ran without getting drenched, or that there was no possibility of the rain slowing down as they ran, he had still accepted her request to help her reach the school on time. So when he felt a sharp tug at his hand and he turned around mid run to see if Hilary was okay, he wasn’t surprised to find her asking him to look for a place where they could take shelter from the rain instead, and he wasn’t surprised to find himself changing track obediently. This was just the kind of hold Hilary had on him, and it had been a while since Tyson had stopped resisting and given into the giddy feeling that came with being the guy Hilary always depended on.
Spotting their usual hang out spot under the bridge and next to the river bank just in time, Tyson led her towards it, sliding through the grass hastily and only stopping to catch a breath once the two were under the cemented shade of the bridge’s base. The two pulled their hands apart as soon as they came to a halt, Tyson so he could push back the sloppy, wet hair that was now covering his face and Hilary so she could rub some warmth into her icy cold arms. It took a while for them to regain their breath and for the adrenaline rush to simmer down, but once it did, their eyes met and the next second, they both burst out laughing.
“I’m sorry Tyson, I should’ve known this was a doomed mission,” Hilary managed to speak after a few minutes, she passed him an apologetic smile and his heart picked up pace once again, “I really hope neither of us falls sick.” She added, looking concerned about the state of their drenched hair and clothes.
“Don’t worry about it, Hils! I’ve never fallen sick in my entire life.” Tyson grinned proudly at her, hoping to reassure her and lift that solemn look from her face so she could go back to smiling at him and filling his stomach with butterflies.
But she only shook her head in reply, lowering her gaze to the ground as guilt seeped into her tired, garnet eyes, sending Tyson into a panic over thinking what he could say to make sure she understood that no one’s to blame in this situation. He was a bit ashamed by how good she was at comforting him and getting him through his worst moments, but whenever the roles were reversed, he always ended up a blubbering mess, cracking jokes that never made her laugh. So Tyson racked his brain for an answer, despite the gloomy backdrop of the never ending rain, he attempted to stay positive and figure out what he needed to cheer up Hilary. The weather however, seemed to be against him, as the next moment a strong gust of wind blew past them, Tyson raised his arm to shield his face but from the corner of his eyes he saw that Hilary’s balance stumbled slightly from the blow so he immediately put his hands on her shoulders to steady her.
It was when she looked up at him with a grateful smile on her face that Tyson ended up blurting out the first thought that popped up in his brain, “I’m glad you asked me to come with you today.”
Hilary’s eyes widened at his words, “Why?” She asked him in a surprised tone.
Tyson gulped nervously in response, he’d spoken his thought out loud without thinking it through and wasn’t sure about how he should explain his sentiments to her. He was happy however, the guilt in her eyes had been replaced with curiosity instead, so even if he hadn’t managed to cheer her up yet, at least he’d managed to distract her from her self-induced guilt trip. Deciding that if he stayed on this track, she might just be able to forget about this tiny fiasco and move onto enjoy being able to skip cram school today, Tyson gathered up all his remaining courage, and after taking a deep breath, explained his feelings to her.
“We never get to spend time together like this, just the two us,” He said, satisfied and motivated by Hilary’s cheeks turning pink at his statement, he continued confidently, “At the Dojo, it’s either Grandpa or Daichi who don’t leave us alone, at school you’re always off with your friends or Chief is tailing you, and when the team is in town Max and Rei never leave your side.” He paused to breathe, frustration slipping into his voice as he thought about all the perfect moments he could’ve had with Hilary that had been ruined by other people butting in. Clearing his mind, he looked her in the eye and sighed, “I don’t care if we fall sick tomorrow or that we’re stuck in a storm, I’m glad that I’m stuck with you.”
For a brief moment, the only sound that passed between the two was that of the splattering raindrops as Hilary remained frozen under his hold, eyes wide with surprise as she made sense of Tyson’s words. Tyson on the other hand felt, that he would explode on the spot if Hilary continued to stay silent for a second longer, he’d laid his heart out in the moment with the hope that he’d be able to make her understand just how much he enjoyed spending time with her, no matter the time or place as long as he was next to her, he’d be happy doing anything. And somewhere deep down he’d wished that she felt the same way about him too.
Finally Hilary broke the unnerving silence with a smile so bright, it could send the dark clouds in the sky running home in no time, and a wave of relief washed over Tyson, she tilted her head to the side and raised her hand to his cheek, “Oh, Tyson.” She giggled, as she caressed his cheek lightly, her gentle touch sending a shiver down his whole body, “If you want to have me all to yourself, all you have to do is ask nicely.”
Her words did register in Tyson’s head but her smile was so mesmerising and her touch so intoxicating that he paid no heed to her statement about asking for things nicely, and crashed his lips into hers, tasting the fresh rainwater on them, and taken aback by how eagerly she returned the kiss. Moving his hands from her shoulder to her waist, he pulled her closer and a wistful sigh escaped her lips as she smiled against his caress. The scent of Hilary’s fruity perfume reached him and he nibbled on her lower lip, wanting to taste more of her and she hesitated for a moment, before leaning into him, placing both her arms around his neck and parting her lips to allow him to deepen the kiss. And as each of his senses drowned in her existence, Tyson realised that to him Hilary’s smile tasted like happiness, full of warmth and sunshine, and absolutely irresistible, so when she finally pulled away to catch her breath, he kept his eyes closed in an attempt to savour the feeling for as long as he could.
When he finally opened his eyes, he saw that Hilary was still grasping for breath and looking dazed, even though Tyson was ready to swoop in and steal another kiss any minute now. She must’ve caught the needy glint in his eyes, narrowing her eyes at him, still a little disoriented and red-faced, Hilary muttered, “Next time, a warning would be nice.”
Though despite her claim, she responded without wasting a second when Tyson leaned into her again.
MASTERLIST
You felt yourself shiver as the cold winter air blew around you. The black jacket you had on was barely doing its job. Once again, you found yourself here. Everyday for a week, you would come here for hours and hours. The snow and quiet, being the only thing that gave you peace.
“Y/n?” You heard a voice call out to you softly.
Turning your head, you saw Jihyo walking towards you, carrying an umbrella to shield herself from the snow.
"Jihyo? What are you doing here?” You question.
“I was worried about you. Y/n, you can’t keep doing this to yourself, you know he wouldn’t want you to.”
“I know,” You whisper, feeling tears begin to pool in your eyes.
“Here,” She states while pulling out a pack of hand warmers.
“Thank you.”
“Have you eaten today?”
“No,” You say, getting ready to hear her scold you.
“Y/n,” She sighs.
“I know, I know. I just haven’t been hungry,” You defend, avoiding her worried eyes.
“How are you doing?” She asks while positioning the umbrella so the two of you were covered from the snow.
“I’m doing fine,” You choke out while trying to hold back your tears.
“No one is expecting you to be alright 24/7 Y/n. It’s okay to not be fine,” She says softly while also tearing up.
“If I cry, it’ll just make things more real.”
All of a sudden, Jihyo pulls you into a hug. Not being able to hold them in any longer, you began to cry into Jihyo’s shoulder, grasping onto her like your life depended on it.
“Shhh, shhh, it’s going to be okay,” Jihyo comforts while stroking your hair. You hear her sniffle as she begins crying with you.
“It hurts, it hurts so fucking much,” You cry out.
“I know it does, just let it out,” She encourages, her voice equally as shaky as yours. The two of you stay in each other's arms for what seems like hours. After calming down a bit, you finally pull away.
“I can’t believe he’s actually gone,” you whisper.
”I know it’s only been a week but why does it feel like he’s been gone for years?” Jihyo questions while shaking her head, feeling a fresh batch of tears forming.
“I miss him, I miss him so damn much.”
Jihyo hums in agreement.
“I wish we would go back in time to when we were in high school. When we were young and had no cares in the world,” you state, thinking back to the old days.
“Do you remember the first time you met him? What were we, 16?” She questioned, laughing a little at the memory. You felt yourself smile for the first time in a while as you thought back to that day.
“Jihyo, wait up!” You yell as you rush to catch up to the girl in front of you.
“Hurry up, we’re gonna be late!” She calls back, not slowing down at all.
The two of you were doing your usual routine of walking to school. Only today, you had overslept so you were running a little late. Putting more pep in your step, you quickly catch up to your friend.
“If we’re late, I’m going to end you,” Jihyo told you while shaking her head.
“Just tell Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung to cover for us or something,” you wheeze, out of breath from how fast you both were walking.
“Whatever,” She mumbles out while picking up her pace. After about five minuets, you arrive at school.
“Ten minutes to spare! See, I told you we wouldn’t be late,” you remarked while bumping into Jihyo.
“You’re lucky we weren’t.”
“Oh you wouldn’t have-”
All of a sudden, you felt your body run into something hard and you fell flat on the ground.
“Oh I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” You heard a voice call out.
“Yeah, yeah I’m, woah, you’re hot,” You breathe out once you see the dreamy stranger who you ran into, causing him to laugh.
“I mean I’m fine! Um sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going,” You apologize while bowing your head.
“Ah don’t apologize, it was my fault! I’m Bang Chan,” he introduces himself with a big smile as he stuck his hand out.
“Y/n,” you say while extending your hand to shake his.
“Chan, hurry up mate!” A deep voice suddenly calls out.
“Calm down Felix, I’m coming,” he laughs out before directing his attention back to you, “well it was nice meeting you. Sorry again, hopefully I’ll see you around!”
And with that, he was gone.
“Woah, you’re hot,”Jihyo mocked, causing you to slap her playfully.
“Oh shut up, we’re gonna be late.”
“I wish you could have seen your face when you first saw him. It was priceless! I’ve never seen you blush so hard.”
“He was hot and I was a horny teenager, what do you expect?” You joke, causing Jihyo to laugh.
“You know, he never let me live that down,” You add.
“That doesn’t surprise me.”
“Oh remember the time when we were at lunch and he came over asking us to go to that party at Hyunjin’s house,” You bring up, cringing at the memory.
“Oh my god, how could I forget,” She gasps while trying to hold in her laughter.
“Sana get off,” Tzuyu complained while shoving the smaller girl off of her.
“Just let me love you,” Sana sang while trying to kiss Tzuyu’s cheek.
“Get a room you two,” Jihyo jokes while throwing a carrot at them.
“Now, back to what I was saying before I was rudely interrupted,” Dahyun states while glaring at Sana, Jihyo, and Tzuyu. You drowned them all out as you were lost in thought. Ever since that day in the hallway, you couldn’t stop running into Chan. It was like now that you knew he existed, he was everywhere. At first, you tried to avoid him at all cost but after a while, the two of you began to talk. It wasn’t anything deep but still, talking to him was definitely the highlight of your days. You were currently scanning the lunch room for the 100th time looking for Mr. Dimples.
“Y/n are you even listening to my story?”
“What? Uh sorry, what were you saying?”
“Don’t mind her guys, she’s just in love,” Jihyo teased.
“Jihyo you weren’t supposed to say anything,” You whined.
“Our little y/n is in love?” Nayeon gasped out.
“Who’s the lucky guy? Or girl, we don’t judge,” Momo stated, leaning in closer to you.
“It’s umm, ᵇᵃⁿᵍ ᶜʰᵃⁿ,” You mumbled out.
“Y/n,” All the girls groan out.
“It doesn’t even matter,” You say, feeling your cheeks grow red.
“IT’S BANG CHAN SHE LIKES BANG CHAN!” Jihyo yells at the top of her lungs, catching most of the cafeteria's attention.
“Oh my god Jihyo,” You gasp, looking around the room.
“Oh my gosh you like Chan?” Sana gushes with a huge smile on her face.
“Awww that’s so cute,” Chaeyoung adds on.
“I wouldn’t even say I like him, I’m just infatuated with him,” You defend.
“How do you even know him? Do you have a class with him?” Momo asks.
“No, I just ran into him by accident in the hallway. I see him around occasionally but that’s it.”
“Oh my gosh, I wish you guys were there! It was so funny, she called him hot,” Jihyo said, causing you to turn as red as a tomato.
“Jihyo stoooop.”
“You called him hot?” Jeongyeon laughed out.
“Guys, guys, he’s coming walking over here,” Mina squeals, causing all the girls to freak out.
“Are you fucking with me,” You question, mentally freaking out.
“I’m being deadass,” Mina states.
“Oh my god,” You whisper to yourself, putting your face in your hands.
“Hey girls,” You hear Chan’s cheery voice greet your table. Everyone greets him back, well everyone except you. To say you were modified would be an understatement.
“Hey y/n,” Chan calls out, causing you to look up at him with a tight smile on your face.
“Heyyyyy.”
“I umm, I couldn’t help but overhear Jihyo say someone likes me?”
“No she didn’t!” You rush out before any of the other girls could answer.
Real smooth, that definitely makes you look less suspicious.
“Y/n that was such a funny joke,” Nayeon says while fake laughing, “Jihyo definitely said someone at this table likes you.”
You stared at her with wide eyes, feeling betrayed. You looked at Jeongyeon with pleading eyes which caused her to sigh.
“Nayeon, don’t lie to Chan! Jihyo never said that,” She says with a forced smile on her face.
“Well, hypothetically speaking if someone does like me at this table, and it’s the someone I think it is, I hope they know that I, again, hypothetically speaking, like them to,” Chan says while looking directly at you.
“Anyway, my friends and I are throwing a party on Friday if you wanna come! It’s gonna be at Hyunjins house, I’ll text Sana his address. You don’t have to if you don’t want to but umm it would be really cool if you all came.”
“Oh we’ll be there,” Sana says with a huge smile.
“Okay awesome! I’ll see you guys later!” Chan said, clearly excited.
Waiting until he walked away, all the girls began to freak out.
“Oh my god y/n!!!”
“He soooo likes you!”
“He literally just said that dummy!”
“Our little y/n is growing up!”
“Will you all be quiet!” You yell, growing embarrassed.
“Jeongyeon I can’t believe you told him Jihyo didn’t say that,” Nayeon scolded.
“That’s why Jeongyeon is my favorite yeon,” You state while shrugging your shoulders.
“I cannot believe you just said that,” Nayeon gasped in fake hurt.
“Ladies, ladies, ladies, let us not fight. We have more important matters to deal with, like getting y/n ready for the best party of her life,” Sana gushed out.
“I have never felt so embarrassed in my life,” you muttered while shaking your head.
“Hey it might have been embarrassing but at least it worked out for you. You have to admit, if I didn’t yell that at lunch, the two of you probably wouldn’t have ended up together,” Jihyo pointed out.
“Yeah, that’s true. I guess I should thank you for getting us together.”
“Finally, it only took you six years to say,” she says while rolling her eyes playfully.
“I can’t believe it’s been six years,” you mutter to yourself while shaking your head. Jihyo hums in agreement.
“Y/n, it’s freezing outside, we should get you home.”
“I don’t want to go.”
“Y/n,” Jihyo sighs out.
“Please just let me stay here a little longer,” You plead.
“You’ve already been here for hours, you can come back tomorrow. It’s already 6 p.m,” She says while lightly grabbing your arm.
It was already 6? Have you really been here that long?
“Y/n, please. Everyone is worried for you, just come home. All the girls and guys are there. We don’t want you to be alone.”
After thinking for a few seconds, you slowly nod your head. Jihyo takes your hand and begins to lead you away from his snowy grave. Soon, you two were driving down the icy road.
“Do you want the radio on,” Jihyo asks while glancing at you.
“Sure,” You say while leaning your head in the window.
A couple of songs play but you don’t really pay attention to them, too lost in your thoughts. One song did catch your attention though.
“The next song was requested by one of our listeners. It’s Shoot me by Day6!”
“Just shoot me, shoot me,” Chan was singing at the top of his lungs causing you to die of laughter.
“Oh my god my ears can’t take it anymore,” You say while dramatically holding your ears.
“Is my beautiful voice not serenading you?” He questioned with mock hurt in his voice.
“Yeah it’s a no from me love,” you say acting like an Britain's Got Talent judge.
“Wait, if you don’t like it I can sing another song,” Chan pleads, playing along.
“No, no that’s alright. Next!”
“Wait hold on, ummm I can sing Queen! Everyone likes Queen! Mama ohhhhhohhhhhh I don’t wanna die! Sometimes I wish I’d never been born at allllll!!”
“SECURITY!” You yell while the two of you laugh your asses off. Chan then tackles you and begins to smother you with kisses.
“Ahhh Chan stop I can’t breath,” You laugh out while trying to push him off.
“Don’t reject my love,” He says while continuing his attack.
“You’re gonna give me cooties,” You cry out.
“Oh no not cooties!” He gasps while laughing and resting his head on your stomach.
“I’m tired now, entertaining you takes a lot of energy,” He yawns out.
“No it doesn’t, you literally could just show me a picture of a banana and I would laugh.”
“What the-”
“Less talking, more cuddling.”
Finally, you made it back to your home.
“Hopefully, it doesn’t look like a tornado went through it,” Jihyo joked, trying to lift your mood. You give her a small smile as you enter your apartment.
“Y/n,” Hyunjin calls out once he sees you. When you locked eyes, you couldn’t keep it together and started crying. He immediately rushed to you and pulled you into a hug.
“I’m sorry,” You apologize while pulling away, quickly wiping your tears.
“Don’t apologize, it’s okay to cry,” Hyunjin says while he puts his hand on your shoulder and gives it a little squeeze. After greeting everyone, you take a seat on your couch. You sit in between Minho and Sana while everyone else kind of spreads themselves around the living room. For most of the night, you had avoided the topic of Chan at all cost. Nobody wanting to open up fresh wounds. That was until Felix brought him up on accident.
“Oh my god, Chan would have killed us if he saw us do that,” He laughed before realizing what he said. Everyone went quiet, thinking about their friend.
“You know what, I can’t do this anymore,” Felix cries out while pulling on his hair.
“You can’t do what?” Mina questions.
“This! I can’t keep pretending that Chan never existed just because it hurts to talk about. We’re going to have to talk about him one way or another. We can’t erase him from our life.”
Again, the room falls silent.
“Do you guys remember the one time, we all went to Disney World and Chan freaked out because Jeongin, Dahyun, and Minho went missing? I swear on my life I’ve never seen him so scared,” Changbin brings up, causing everyone to laugh at the memory.
“Yeah and then he threatened to make us wear those backpacks with the leashes on them,” Dahyun says with a found smile on her face.
“He was always so worried about us like we were his own kids,” Jeongin adds on.
“Or do you remember that time, it was Y/n and his’s three year anniversary and instead of going out, he wanted to set up his own restaurant and he had Jisung as the waiter and Seungmin singing while the rest of us acted like we were other customers,” Momo reminisced.
“Oh my gosh that was such a mess,”You say with a hug smile.
“I can’t believe Changbin asked for the manager because his food was cold,” Sana laughed out as tears of happiness formed in her eyes.
“Chan was so pissed,” Jeongyeon said while shaking her head at the memory. Again, a wave of silence filled the room.
“Did any of you know?” You suddenly asked out of the blue.
“Know what?” Seungmin questioned.
“Did any of you know he was sick?”
“Y/n,” Jihyo sighs out while tilting her head to the side quickly.
“Wait a second, Jihyo you knew? And you didn’t tell me? What the hell is wrong with you?”
Jihyo looked down, feeling ashamed. You scanned the room and saw everyone mirroring her expression.
“You have to fucking be kidding me! Are you serious? You all knew?”
You honestly couldn’t put into words how hurt and betrayed you felt.
“You have to understand that Chan made us promise not to tell you. He told us that he wanted to do it himself but I guess he just never got the chance to,” Nayeon trailed off, avoiding your hurt eyes.
You rubbed your mouth with your hand as your legs shook.
“I knew Bang Chan was never going to tell you,” Felix admitted.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Changbin asked.
“It was a couple of days before he died. He had pulled me aside and he told me that things had been getting worse and he didn’t think he had much time left. He umm, he told me that he still hadn’t told you and that he honestly didn’t think he would ever have the heart to tell you. I’m sorry y/n.”
“And you still didn’t think to tell me after that?”
The air grew very tense in the room. No one knowing what to say or do.
“You know what, get out,” You coldly told everyone.
“What?” Sana asked in disbelief.
“You fucking heard me, I said get out! All of you!”
“You know what Y/n, you aren’t the only person hurting! I wish I didn’t know that Chan was dying. How do you think that felt? To know your best friend is dying and there is nothing you can do. How do you think it felt to feel on edge every time you hung out with him, thinking that this could be the last time you’ll ever get to see him. Stop being so selfish. I get it, Chan and you were dating. You were in love but are you seriously that blind that you can’t see the rest of us are hurting just as much as you!” Felix ranted causing you to laugh bitterly.
“If I’m so fucking selfish, why the hell are you even here? Just get the fuck out!” You yell while storming out of the room and rushing to your bedroom. Once inside, you lock your door and throw yourself onto your bed and cry your eyes out. After a few minutes, you hear a knock on your door.
“Go away,” You yell at the person, not having the strength to fight anymore.
“Y/n, it’s Jeongyeon, please open up.”
After thinking about it for a few seconds, you decided to open the door. You move out of her way and allow her to sit down on your bed as you shut your door. You move to sit next to her.
“Come here,” She says while holding her arms out so she could hold you.
“You know that Felix didn’t mean that, he’s just going through a lot right now. We all are. He feels really bad about it, he actually sent me up here to talk to you. No one thinks you’re selfish, he just said that in the heat of the moment.”
“Maybe he was right though, all I’ve done is think about myself. I haven’t even stopped to ask how you guys are doing,” You mumble out, guilt beginning to eat you up.
“Y/n you’re grieving, we can’t expect you to be worrying about others. You need to worry about yourself and your health.”
You pull away from Jeongyeon as you debated if you should bring up your thoughts or not.
“Do you...do you want to know what the last thing I said to Chan was?” You question, wanting to get your feelings off of your chest.
“Sure.”
“The last thing I told him was that I hated him. We umm, we had gotten into an argument a couple days before he died and I told him I hated him.”
The night had been extremely long. Chan and you had been arguing for about an hour. The two of you had gone back and forth, shouting hurtful words at each other and it was honestly so draining. Currently, Chan was sitting down on your couch while you paced back and forth in front of him on a mini rant.
“Y/n, please stop yelling, I don’t have the energy to deal with this tonight. Can’t we just go to bed and we’ll talk about it in the morning,” Chan signed out while rubbing his head.
“No Chan, this isn’t something we can just “push off” and talk about in the morning,” You fumed, growing more frustrated by the second.
“Baby-”
“Don’t fucking “baby” me Chan, where the hell have you been going? I’m tired of you lying to me!”
Chan sat there quietly, avoiding your eyes.
“Are you, are you cheating on me?” You ask, the question eating you up. This causes Chan’s eyes to go wide as he quickly stood up and reached out for you, only for you to take a step back.
“Y/n, I’m not cheating on you!”
“Then where have you been going?”
“I...I can’t tell you...”
“Why? Why can’t you tell me?”
“BECAUSE I JUST CAN’T! LET IT GO ALREADY! I...I don’t understand why you can’t just trust me.”
“How am I supposed to trust you when all you do is lie?”
“You know what? Fine, don’t trust me, I honestly don’t even fucking care anymore,” Chan said while getting up from the couch as he gathered his stuff.
“Fine, if you don’t care then neither do I! Fuck it, why don’t we just break up? Since I clearly can’t trust you and since you just “don’t care” anymore!”
“Are you fucking serious? Stop being such a damn baby,” Chan shot back, running a hand through his hair.
“I’m the baby? You’re the one who is acting like a child and can’t own up to what he’s been doing. What’s the point in hiding it anymore? Just say it! Just say “Y/n, I’m fucking someone else. I know I wasn’t man enough to say it before, but I’m gonna say it now.” It’s not that damn hard!”
“Oh my fucking god I already told you I’m not cheating on you! Do you really think that low of me that you think I would do that to you?”
“Yes, I fucking do! You haven’t given me any reason to believe that you wouldn’t!”
“Y/n, there’s some things I just can’t tell you right now! Why can’t you just believe me?”
“Because all you do is lie to me Chan, how am I supposed to believe you?”
Chan laughed bitterly while shaking his head.
“There is so much going on right now Y/n, I just, I can’t deal with this right now. If you believe me, great. If you don’t, then you don’t. I don’t really know what you want me to say,” He said, trying to keep his voice calm.
“You can’t deal with this right now? You know what, fine. Go, I don’t even care anymore. I fucking hate you,” You hissed out, shooting him an icy glare.
“Whatever,” He scoffed while giving you one more glance before walking away and slamming your door, leaving you all alone.
“Actually, after that he wouldn’t stop texting and calling me but I was so angry at him, I ignored him. It was such a dumb fight and I should have believed him. I shouldn’t have ignored all his text saying he was sorry and that he loved me. I shouldn’t have ignored his calls. I was so selfish. I...I wish I could have told him how much I loved him. I wish I could have told him how much he meant to me and that I could never hate him. I wish he could have held me one more time and I wish I could have kissed him one last time. I had been such a bitch to him and that’s the last memory the two of us had together. He was going through so much and I just made him suffer even more. That kills me, Jeongyeon. It kills me to know that I wasn’t there for him when he needed me the most,” You cry out, guilt eating you up. You had so many regrets. So many things you wanted to do over but you couldn’t.
“Y/n, you can’t beat yourself up over that. You didn’t know, you reacted in the same way any one of us would have reacted,” She said, trying to comfort you.
“I wonder if he grew to hate me. I wonder if he was mad at me for not responding to him, I wonder if he was mad at me for not being with him on the days he needed me the most.”
“Y/n of course he didn’t hate you! He could never hate you and you know that. I’m going to be honest with you Y/n. He probably felt guilty. Guilty knowing that the last memory you would have pf him was such a bad one. Guilty knowing how much it was going to hurt you once he was gone. Maybe he felt a little glad to. Maybe he thought that if you were mad enough, when he died it would hurt a little less. Honestly, we’ll never know what he was thinking or feeling.”
“I don’t know what to do anymore, I feel so lost without him,” You confess.
“Y/n, there was something Felix wanted me to give you. He said that the day before Chan died, he had given it to Felix and told him to give it to you once he passed away,” She said while handing you a DVD.
“I think it’ll be better if you watched it by yourself.”
You nod your head while Jeongyeon gave you one more hug before standing up.
“If you need anything just call me. I’ll be here in a heartbeat, I love you.”
“Love you too,” and with that she was gone. You took a few deep breaths, trying to calm yourself down before playing the video. Finally, you switched your TV’s input and turned on your DVD player. Taking the DVD out of the case, you put it in the player and sat back down on your bed, pressing play.
“Hey baby girl! If you’re watching this, well I guess that means things didn’t turn out too good and I’m already gone. I’m sorry I didn’t have the courage to tell you everything. I...I couldn’t stand to see you cry. I know I probably ended up hurting you more in the end by lying to you but I just, I couldn’t tell you. I want you to know that I love you so fucking much. I know the last conversation we had didn’t end well...hey maybe we’ll make up! But right now, with the way my health is going, I highly doubt I’ll live long enough for us to make up. That....that ummm, I’m sorry,” he laughs awkwardly while fighting back tears.
“That hurts me so much to know that the very last thing you’ll remember is me being a lying asshole. I just couldn’t tell you. I know I should have, that would have been the perfect time to tell you but I was scared. But Y/n, I don’t want that to be the only thing you think about. I don’t want you to think about all the arguments we had, I want you to think about all the good times. You remember the time I went to your house at like 1 am and you snuck out of your house and we drove to the beach that was like an hour away. Oh my god that was so much fun! You were complaining that the water was too cold so I picked you up and threw you into the ocean. The look on your face was priceless,” He laughed out with a found smile on his face.
“Y/n, I wish I could have been a better boyfriend. I know we had more ups than downs but you honestly deserved so much better. I’m so sorry for all the pain that I’ve put you through and I hope one day you can forgive me. I want you to know that whatever happens, I’m always gonna be with you. I’m always going to support and love you, wherever I end up being. I hope that you find happiness Y/n. You have to promise me that you wont shut yourself off from the world. I know when you’re sad you tend to do that but you have to promise me you won't. Promise me that you’ll get up early in the morning and you won't sleep all day. Promise me you’ll eat three meals a day, that you’ll go outside, that’ll you keep hanging out with our friends. Promise me....promise me that’ll you’ll move on from me and you won't hold on forever. Promise me that you’ll meet someone you love and you’ll get married to them and have lots of kids and that you grow old together. Promise me you’ll find someone who will get to do the things with you that I won't be able to.”
Chan pauses for a second, trying to pull himself together.
“Y/n, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want to thank you for always being there for me. I’ve never met a person who makes me as happy as you do. You are so beautiful and so funny. Whenever you smile, I smile. Whenever you laugh, I laugh. When you cry, I cry. I’ve never felt so connected to a person as I do with you. I honestly can’t put into words how much you mean to me baby. I feel like I’m just rambling now so I guess I should end this video here but, before I end it, I wanted to share something with you. I’m a little embarrassed but I uh, I wrote you a song. I know it’s silly so if you don’t want to hear it, you can just turn off the video. If you decided to do that, just know that I love you so much and I never stopped loving you. Umm, if you decided to stay, I guess I’ll start singing it,” He nervously laughed while grabbing his laptop and connecting it to speakers. Taking a deep breath, he began to sing.
I wish our ending
Wouldn’t be a sad one
If only we didn’t have to end up in tears
When we remember this moment..
Want Happy Ending
If that is not possible,
Become a most painful scar for me
If it reminds me of you
I will gladly embrace the pain
Will you do that for me?
When I see the fragile you
I forget my long sorrow for a moment
I want to rest in your arms once more
I can’t help my desire for you
Surpassing my ever-growing fear
I want to see how you’d look in the dazzling winter too
If that is not possible,
Remember me by this moment
Our night is sadly beautiful
And flower petals rain down
Our Happy Ending
“Well, I hope you liked it,” He choked out, trying not to cry.
“I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I hope one day we’ll get to see each other again. Uhh, please stay safe and healthy and happy. I love you,” He said one last time while giving the camera a little wave while he smiled sadly. And that was it.
Your entire body was shaking as you cried silently to yourself. Hearing his voice again made you miss him all over again. All you wanted to do was hug him and tell him how much you loved his song and how much you loved him, but you couldn’t. A part of you did feel some type of closure from watching the video yet another part of you just couldn’t let go of Chan. You knew that for him you needed to be strong but it was so hard being strong. You couldn’t do it, not without Chan. Maybe one day you would be strong, maybe one day you would have it in you to do what he asked. Maybe one day you would be able to feel something other than regret, sadness, and guilt.
“I wish we could have had a happy ending Chan,” You whisper to yourself as you lay down on your bed, covering yourself with your blanket. The warmth of it giving you a fake sense of security.
“Chan, if you can hear me, I want you to know that I’m also really sorry. I should have just trusted you. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. I’m sorry I can’t do everything you want me to but I promise I’ll do better. Maybe not anytime soon but I will someday. Tomorrow I'll probably just go back to your grave and talk to you like a crazy person,” You say while laughing a little as you wipe your tears.
“I love you so much. I wish I could have told you that before you left. I hope you know how much I did. That’s going to be the first thing I tell you when I see you again. It’ll be pretty awkward if when I die, you and my side hoe meet. That’ll be a sticky situation,” You joked while taking a deep breath.
“I’m a little tired now so I think I’m gonna go to sleep now. Thank you for making that video, I can’t express to you how much I needed it. You bet your ass I’m going to be listening to that song on repeat while I eat Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. I miss you so much, maybe I’ll dream of you tonight. Goodnight Chan,” You say while closing your eyes. For the first time in awhile, you felt at peace in your home. It was almost as if he was with you then, calming you down and luling you to sleep. After a few more minutes, you drifted off into a peaceful sleep with happy memories of Chan and you swirling in your head.
“Here,” Monica said as she adjusted the large umbrella stand, positioning it over the rather uncomfortable plastic chaise lounge pool chair you were reclined back on.
“Thank you.” You offered as you adjusted the floppy little hat you had on Sofía. She was out cold against your breast. “You should go swim.” You urged Monica as she wrapped a towel around her middle and moved to lay down on the chaise lounge beside you.
“I’m good here,” Monica assured you as she grabbed a pair of sunglasses from the tote beside her chair.
“What? You don’t want to go under the water buckets again?” You teased, looking across the pool towards the children’s area where Josie had Javier standing right under the spot where she could pull a lever and dump water on his head.
She was having a blast and that was all that mattered to you.
Monica laughed softly, tucking her arms under her head. “You caught me.” She tilted her head to look at you, smiling a little. “Thank you for all of this.”
“Josie was convinced you’d enjoy coming to the splash park with us.” You shrugged. “And of course. You need to have fun sometimes.
“I don’t mean just today.” Monica insisted. “I was talking to Nadia about everything the other day and it just made me realize how lucky I am.”
“How is her situation?”
“She lives with her mother and grandmother. Her mother is accepting, but definitely thinks it’s just a phase.” She shrugged. “And her grandmother chooses to ignore it. They have big dreams for her.”
You frowned, “At least they’re accepting.” You couldn't imagine parents like Monica’s just cutting their daughter off. All you wanted for Josie and Sofía was happiness, however they saw fit.
“It’s just a little awkward.” Monica admitted. “I was over there the other day after our date and her mother kept calling me her study buddy.” She readjusted her towel, rolling onto her stomach and resting her cheek against her folded arms. “At least I have you guys.”
“Speaking of us.” You said, glancing down at Sofía as she made a little sound like she might wake up, instead she just sniffled and pressed her face against your chest. “We’re going to Laredo for Thanksgiving.”
“Oh.”
“No. No ‘oh’.” You shook your head. “We’d love to have you come with us. “Chucho was impressed with you when Sofía was born and asked if you’d be joining us.”
“I really don’t want to impose.” Monica rubbed her lips together nervously. “It’s just Thanksgiving.”
“Yes, the holiday you’re supposed to spend with family.” You gave her a pointed look. “You’re one of us, Monica. It’s a month out, you don’t have to decide right now.”
She blinked. “You’re serious?”
You arched a brow, “Why would I be lying? I don’t know what Javier has told the class, but I’m not a bitch.”
Monica laughed loudly at that, covering her mouth to stifle the noise. “First off, Javier acts like you can walk on water in class. I think everyone in that class wants a love like yours. Second off, I don't know! I’m just an interloper.”
“And yesterday I told someone that I have three daughters, so.” You gave her a pointed look. “Thanksgiving in Laredo and then Chucho is coming here for Christmas.”
“You guys are way too nice.” Monica smiled at you. “What are the Murphys doing for Thanksgiving?”
“Last I heard, Connie’s parents are coming down and Steve wants to hide in our trunk.”
“Drama?”
“They haven’t forgiven Steve for dragging their daughter to Colombia.” You rolled your eyes. “All I know is that things are always tense. Javi and I were over there a couple years back when they came to visit. Things were… Tense.”
“I can only imagine.”
Your eyes flickered back towards the splash pad, smiling as you spotted Javier and Josie heading back towards you. You kept Sofía cradled against your chest as you sat up and reached for a towel for Josie.
“Mommy! Did you see me?” Josie questioned, twirling around as you wrapped the towel around her. She pressed her wet little head against your chest, looking at her sister. “Sofía you have to get bigger!”
You kissed the top of her head, “She will. And then both of you will be out there dousing daddy in water.”
Josie giggled, letting go of you and shuffling towards Monica. Monica let her onto the chaise lounge with her, much to Josie's delight.
You lowered your sunglasses, raking your eyes over Javier as he toweled off. You bit down on your bottom lip, smirking at him. “Hey handsome, you come here often?” You teased, shifting so you could nudge your foot against his knee. “I’d let you swim in my pool.”
Javier casually flipped you off as he lifted his towel to dry his hair. “I thought I’d make it through the whole day without being leered at by some pool mom.” He teased, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips before he took Sofía from you.
“I am so much more than a pool mom.” You shot back, shielding your eyes as you looked up at him. “Here, sit down so she doesn’t get too much sun.”
You traded seats with him, moving to sit on the side of the chaise lounge as he reclined. You watched as she pressed her cheek to his chest and sprawled out as she let herself fall back to sleep. “She’s getting so big.” Javier remarked, rubbing her back.
“I know. It’s crazy.” You shook your head. It didn’t help that those first three months had been spent in a daze. Even her birth remained hazy for you. “I talked to Monica about Thanksgiving.”
Javi looked towards Monica, “You coming with us?”
She nodded and smiled, “Thank you. Seriously. This might be the best Thanksgiving yet.”
“Pops is a pretty damn good host.” Javier explained. “Day before we’ll probably go down to the party hall and visit with some of my extended family.”
“His cousin Danny just had his first son.” You added, resting your hand on Javi’s leg. “You can stay at the ranch if you want to. We’re not going to force you to go with us.”
“You don’t think they’ll think it’s weird?” Monica questioned, pulling a Kool-Aid out of the cooler for Josie.
Javier shook his head, “Nah.”
“They’re used to us showing up with new daughters.” You teased, looking back at Javier with a grin. “They’re good people. I’m sure they’ll love you as much as we do.”
Javier pressed a kiss to the top of Sofía’s head as she started fussing. And you recognized that brand of fussing. He looked towards you with a furrowed brow, “Do you want to try?”
You made a face, but nodded. “Yeah, I’ll give it a try.”
He carefully got up with Sofía cradled in his arms, letting you lay back down on the chair. Once he swapped the baby back to you, he helped you adjust the chair so it was sitting up straighter. Javier grabbed the baby bag, pulling out the nursing blanket that was tucked into it.
You draped the blanket across your chest, making sure you were completely covered before you pulled the top of your swimsuit down. Javier pulled the cooler over, closer to your chair and perched on the top of it. “You’ve got it, baby.”
“She’s trying.” You bit down on your bottom lip as you waited with bated breath to see whether Sofía was going to latch on. It was always a 50-50 shot. You readjusted her beneath the blanket, silently begging her to just— “She’s on.”
“That’s my girl.” Javier grinned, leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek. He brushed his thumb over the bottom of Sofía’s foot where it was sticking out from under the blanket.
“She’s getting better at it,” You said with a sigh of relief as you felt suckingly more insistently. “I was worried she’d start refusing me again, now that we’ve been trying baby food.”
“She might love her sweet potatoes, but she’s not going to miss out on this.” He gestured to you with a smirk.
Your lips parted as you started to respond to him, but you were cut off by a man passing by, “Come on, lady. There are kids here.”
Javier’s head snapped towards him, “Fuck off.” He gritted out, his gaze flickering towards the woman who was walking ahead of him, “Take your sanctimonious bullshit and tell your wife no one needs to see that much of her ass. Think of the children.”
You snorted, reaching over to squeeze his hand. “It’s fine, babe.”
Monica wasn’t ready to drop it however, “Funny you’d bring up kids.” She sat up, wrapping her towel around her tightly. “When she’s literally feeding a child. Quit looking, perv.”
“Are we going to have a problem?” Javier questioned, staring the man down.
“Nope.” He held up his hands, taking a step backwards. “No problem.”
“Then keep walking.” Javier ushered him on.
“God, I hate men.” Monica mumbled, with a roll of her eyes. Javier gave her a look. “You’re an exception.”
“I thought so.” He turned back to you then. “You good?”
“I put up with how many months of Chris’ bullshit? I’m fine.” You assured him, beckoning him closer so you could kiss him. “I love you.”
“Love you too, baby.”
 ——
 You trailed your fingertips along his jaw, sliding them down to curl around the column of his throat, as your lips slanted over his. Your lust was tempered by the knot of anxiety coiling low in your belly. You talked a good game, but you had never done anything like this before. At least there was comfort in the fact that Javier had never done it either. You could both be nervous together.
His hand snaked up your back, slipping under your shirt. Javier pulled you closer as his tongue delved between your lips, twisting against yours as he deepened the kiss. You moaned against his mouth, arching against him.
You broke away from the kiss, breathing raggedly as you pressed a row of kisses down his throat, your tongue dipping out against his Adam’s apple as he swallowed thickly. “We can stop whenever you want.” You reminded him, as he sank back against the mattress.
“I know my safe word.” Javier dragged his hands over his face, exhaling heavily.
“And.”
“Three squeezes if I can’t get the word out.” He answered, reaching out and brushing his knuckles over your cheek. “Think you’re going to render me speechless?” Javier smirked at you.
You shrugged, “Never know.” You sat back on your knees then, looking towards the bedside table at the neon blue toy and the bottle of lube sitting next to it. “I can’t believe we’re doing this.” You admitted.
He snorted, “You and me both.”
Javier scooted up on the pillows, his eyes following yours towards the nightstand. You wish you knew what was going through his head. He kept everything so close to the chest, but that wasn’t really something that worked in this situation. You were both going to have to communicate with each other. And listen.
You bit down on your bottom lip, “You’re certain?”
“We’ve got this far.” He retorted, swallowing thickly. “Just go easy on me.”
“This is the easy part, Javi.” You told him, brushing your hand over his chest. “Just you wait until I have the whole harness.” You gestured around your pelvis. “There will be no stopping me. Unless you tell me to.”
He crooked a finger and you leaned down to kiss him. “I trust you.” Javier reminded you, bumping his nose against yours.
You reached for the toy and lube and laid them on the bed, before you moved downwards. Hooking your fingers in the waistband of his boxers, you peeled them down his hips and tossed them off the bed. “I think the key is making sure you’re relaxed.” You told him, curling your legs beneath you as you sat beside his hips.
Javier tucked his arm beneath his head, “I’m as relaxed as you’re going to get me.”
“We’ll see about that.” You grinned, reaching out to rub your hand over his lower stomach, fingertips grazing through the dark hair that led downwards. You lazily curled your fingers around his cock, watching his face as you stroked him.
You leaned down, pressing a kiss to the head of his cock, sweeping your tongue out to tease over the tip.
“That’s one way to relax me,” Javier quipped, reaching down to play his fingers through your hair, his eyes drawn to your mouth as you took the head of him between your lips. You were just teasing, trying to get him ready.
It was something new and different for both of you, but this part of it was all about him. You wanted him to feel good, otherwise the next part of this wasn’t going to happen.
You flattened your tongue as you swept it down the underside of his cock. You leaned forward, taking the full length of him into your mouth, before you released him with a wet pop, moving to sit between his legs.
Javier lifted his head, his eyes meeting yours with a glimmer of uncertainty.
“You good?”
He nodded. “Yeah.”
You leaned down and pressed a kiss to the spots just above his hip bones before you moved lower, resting on your forearms between thighs. You ran your hands over his inner thighs, grazing your fingernails lightly over the skin as you nudged his legs apart wider.
“Say the word and I stop, okay?” You reminded him as you pressed your lips to his inner thigh.
“I’m good, baby.” He assured you, reaching down to stroke the top of your head.
You reached over and grabbed the bottle of lube, squirting some onto your fingers. “I was assured that this was warming.” You told him, rubbing your fingers together to ensure it wasn’t cold.
With a gentle brush of your thumb, you smeared the lube over him, your eyes never leaving his face. You pressed another kiss to his thigh, reaching for the toy.
“Just relax,” You whispered as you applied lube to the toy, stroking your finger down the length of it. You smeared the excess lube across him, readying him for what came next. “You ready, Javi?”
“Yeah.” He said as he exhaled, shifting his legs apart wider to give you better access.
You reached up with your free hand and curled your fingers around his cock, stroking him slowly as you circled the tip of the toy against his puckered hole. His leg twitched and you glanced back up at him. “Javi—”
“Keep going.” He assured you, tilting his head up to meet your eyes. “I’m good.”
You applied a little more pressure, letting just the tip of it start to press into him. You loosely pumped your fist over the length of his cock as you kept working the toy against him. “You’re doing so good, babe.” You told him, turning your head to press a kiss to his thigh. “Don’t tense up.”
“It’s fucking weird.” Javier hissed out through clenched teeth as more of the dildo started to press into him. “Don’t stop.”
You drew the toy out a fraction, before pressing it forward again, sinking more of it into him. He shifted beneath your touch, his back arching. “You want more?” You questioned, releasing your hold on his cock as your fingers curled around his thigh. Your gaze flickered between his face and where you were working him, enjoying the look of unabashed desire on his face.
“Baby.” He panted out as you withdrew the toy almost entirely, before sinking it into him further. “Shit. Fuck.”
You rubbed at his hip. “Good?”
“Good.” He grunted. Javier lifted his hands to cover his face, letting out another string of swears as you started working the toy in and out of him more earnestly. The sounds he made had fire burning between your own thighs.
“You have no idea how hot this is, Javi.” You told him, pressing another kiss to his inner thigh as you shifted the angle of your thrusts — which was apparently the right choice.
Javier’s hips arched up off the bed, a low keening sound escaping him as you apparently struck that sweet spot within him. You kept working the toy into that spot, sliding it out and pressing it back into him.
You were enraptured with the way his stomach muscles tensed, the way his thighs trembled, and the way his knuckles went white as he gripped at the bedsheets beneath him.
And the sounds he made.
“Just let go, Javi.” You urged, curling your fingers around his cock as you worked the full length of the toy into him, before you gripped the flared base and slid it out. “Fuck. Look at you.”
You could tell that Javier was right on the brink. The sounds coming out of his mouth and the look on his face as his eyes rolled back in his head told you everything you needed to know. He was about to come for you.
Another strained sound escaped him as his thigh muscles twitched, his feet trying to get purchase on the bed. “St— stop.” Javier grunted out, grabbing your wrist tightly and squeezing three times.
You stopped immediately, sliding the toy out of him slowly. Your brows furrowed together as you looked up at him, “Are you okay, Javi?” Had you done something wrong?
Javier dragged his hand over his face, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he breathed heavily. He was quiet for a long minute as he worked on steadying his breathing, his palm resting over his heart as a breathy chuckle escaped him. “Sorry baby.”
“Don’t apologize.” You ran your hand over the side of his leg, looking up at him nervously. “Are you okay?”
“I, uh…” He raked his fingers through his hair. “Didn’t want to come get.” Javier admitted to you, tilting his head to look at you. “Jesus Christ. That was a fucking lot.”
“Do you want to stop entirely?” You questioned.
His tongue darted out over his bottom lip as he stared at you. “Yeah.”
“Alright.” You nodded your head slowly. “Whatever you want.” And you meant it. If he just wanted to roll over and pretend the night didn’t happen — you wouldn’t hold it again still him.
You moved out from between his thighs, leaning over the side of the bed to grab the washcloth you had prepared before embarking on this adventure. You used it to gingerly clean him off, wiping the cloth off his skin with great care.
“C’mere.” Javier gestured to you and you climbed back up the bed to lay down beside him. He curled his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into side.
You brushed your fingers over his jawline, tilting your head as he leaned in to kiss you. You smiled against his lips, ruffling his hair. “So?”
“So.” He ran his hand down your side as he pulled back to meet your eyes, rocking his jaw slowly as he found his words. “It was overwhelming.”
“Good or bad overwhelming?”
“Good.”
Your brows rose upwards. “Really?” Well, that was a relief. You had worried you had done something wrong. “Why did you want to stop?”
Javier pressed his tongue to the inside of his cheek. “I don’t know how to explain it. Felt like I could feel it everywhere.” He gave your hip a squeeze. “And call me old fashioned baby, but I wanted you.”
You brushed your fingers over his cheek. “Yeah?”
He rolled you over onto your back, his mouth trailing down your throat. You ran your hand up his back, fingers finding their way into his hair as he kissed lower
Javier worked to remove your clothes, letting them land somewhere on the floor beside the bed forgotten. His hand wandered down your stomach, slipping down between your thighs.
You moaned softly as his fingers played over your slick folds. You curled your fingers around the back of his neck, looking up at him as he leaned over you. “Javi.”
“Is this all for me, baby?” He questioned.
“I told you it was hot.” You breathed out, arching your back as you rocked into his touch. “The sounds you made…”
Javier brushed his nose against yours, his breath playing over your lips as he tilted his head and leaned in to kiss you. You protested quietly as he pulled his hand away, but your complaints were short lived as he settled between your thighs — his cock sliding into you.
You hooked your leg around his hips as he started moving within you. “Fuck.” You breathed out as you grabbed at his biceps, his shoulders, trying to touch him everywhere you could as you rolled your hips in time with his thrusts. “Javi.”
He gripped at your hip tightly, picking up the pace of his movements, driving into you again and again. “You feel so fucking good, baby.” Javier rasped out, dragging his lips along your jaw, leaving open-mouthed kisses down your throat.
His hand snaked down in between you, his finger seeking out your clit as he coaxed you over the edge. Your back bowed up off the bed as your release washed through you, your inner walls clenching around him — dragging him down with you.
Javier groaned out your name as he bucked into you, his pace stuttering as he came apart, his release spilling into you.
You laughed breathlessly, running your hand up and down the length of his spine as he sank down atop you. “Why be adventurous when we’re that good already?” You teased, earning a snort from him.
“Too late. We’re being adventurous, baby.” He mumbled, kissing your throat.
You ruffled your fingers through his hair. “Did you enjoy yourself?”
Javier hummed approvingly as you pressed a kiss to his shoulder, and you couldn’t help but grin. You definitely understood the appeal — there was something very exciting about trying something completely new with him. Not that you hadn’t already tried the new and exciting venture called a committed long term relationship and parenthood. This was exciting and new and really hot.
“Won’t Rocky be surprised when I show up later this week to get the harness.” You slid your fingers into his hair and tugged lightly. “You really did enjoy it, right?”
Javier pressed his palms against the mattress on either side of your head, pulling up just enough to look down at you. “It was good.” He assured you, leaning down to brush his lips over yours. “And I look forward to seeing what you can do.”
You grinned up at him, “Me too.”
Enter Bunnix
Pharaoh
“What’s this? Nora Cesaire and Alix Kubdel sprinting full tilt towards the local university with baseball bats?”
- The episode still starts with Alya doing the Ladyblog live stream with her following the team for the day
- Ladybug is screaming for help as she desperately hangs off the helicopter as Bunnix and Chat chase her
- Ladybug drops her history notes
- It’s not the actual textbook, but a purse filled with actual notes
- Thankfully none of them had her name on them or school
- Alya was still super excited, stating this was the same subjects she was studying
- And wondering if Ladybug was in the same grade or school as her
- Alix was a bit nervous about Alya’s curiosity, as it may lead to her getting in trouble
- Especially if Hawkmoth were to see it and get closer to Ladybug’s identity
- Marinette was of course panicking and Tikki suggests going to the museum with Alya and being able to potentially get her notes back
- They managed to meet up with Alix when they entered the Louvre, who had an idea on why they were there
- Alix was getting her dad to show them around the Egyptian exhibit when Jalil walked past, looking pretty upset
- Mari and Alya noticed that and was slightly concerned, especially when they heard a few other guys jeering at him
- Alim wasn’t very amused with this
Alim: All three of you boys! Knock it off and leave my son alone!
- They thankfully left Jalil alone, but he was already gone, having went to the Kubdels apartment
Alim: Alix, sweetie. Please go check on your brother.
- Alix had quickly left Alya and Mari with her dad to go make sure her brother was alright
- Alya was a little bit surprised to learn that Alix has a brother but Mari already knew
- Alim smiled, stating that both siblings were very close with each other
- She found him in his room, forcing himself not to cry
Alix: Hey, it’s alright. Those dicks don’t know what they are talking about.
Jalil, with his head on his knees: They threw rocks at me. Said I wasn’t a real historian.
Alix: Exactly what I said. Dicks. They’re just jealous that they don’t get the same privileges you do!
- The butterfly was already sent out to akumatize him though, much to Alix’s panic as it landed in his pendent
- Alix desperately clung to her brother in an attempt to calm him down but it wasn’t enough and he was akumatized into Pharaoh
- Pharaoh was less of an ancient figure this time but more of an akumatized Jalil
- He still vaguely cared about Alix since she was just trying to help
- He didn’t try to hurt her, just looking at her for a moment before hugging her and leaving to hunt down his bullies
- She quickly transformed into Bunnix, rushing after him as time bubbles were thrown all over the area
- She had to stop herself from calling out her brothers name
- Marinette was still panicking and trying to find anything that looked like Ladybug on the papyrus to distract Alya when both were tackled down as yellow bubbles flew over them
Marinette: wHAT THE-
Bunnix: Sorry both of you, but you guys need to get out of here! It isn’t safe.
Alya, fangirling immediately: Bunnix!! Can I get an interview!?
Marinette: IS NOW REALLY THE TIME TO BE DOING THIS??
- Alya is recording already on the Ladyblog
- Adrien sees the livestream and immediately runs off to the Louvre to fight
- He was worried about how Alix would take fighting her brother though as that’s not the best thing for your mental health
- Bunnix is very much ready to kick Hawkmoth’s ass for taking advantage of her brother
- Also about the fact he fucked up the gods powers
- Alim is barely dodging time bubbles and since that’s her father, Bunnix took first priority in getting him to safety
Bunnix: Don’t worry, me and the team will save your son.
Alim: How did you know he’s my son?
Bunnix, sweating: Just a guess by how worried you look.
- Alim does think she looks awfully familiar to him but before he can get a better look she rushes off
- She really wanted to hug him, since she was terrified
- She’s a super hero but she’s still a 15 year old whose about to be forced to fight her brother
- Pharaoh isn’t focused on reviving anyone, as he mostly is after the people who made fun of him
- Bunnix is really reluctant on saving them and lets Pharaoh drag them around a little bit
- Ladybug bonked her on the head for that but honestly didn’t blame her
- When Chat arrived, Pharaoh had the bullies trapped in time bubbles and was throwing them around
- But he checked on Bunnix first
Chat Noir: Hey, do you wanna sit this one out? We completely understand if you don’t wanna fight him, since he’s your brother.
Bunnix: No, no it’s fine. I can handle it. Hopefully.
- Pharaoh eventually got bored of throwing his bullies around and threw them out of the area
- That’s when he started focusing on the hero’s
- He threw Ladybug around the exhibit like a rag doll for a little bit
- He was mostly interested in attacking Bunnix, much to her dismay
Pharaoh: With your abilities, I would be the best historian on Earth! Hand over your miraculous!
- Bunnix had run off momentarily to trigger the security gates, but that didn’t do much with his super strength being able to break them open
- He trapped them inside the Egyptian section and Chat had to use up his cataclysm to break out the bars
- Chat ran off for a little bit to detransform
- Pharaoh was already outside, gathering an army of mummies to attack them with
- Ladybug ended up getting stuck in another time bubble
- Bunnix may or may not have recorded it since she found it pretty damn funny
- Plagg was commenting on how Pharaoh should be worshipping Chat since most Egyptians saw cats as royalty
- Chat got back to Bunnix using her umbrella to break the bubble
Bunnix: I swear that I got cheated out of a weapon.
Chat: I mean, it’s a shield and a sword?
Bunnix: Never thought a yo-yo would be that good of a weapon to be honest. But proves me wrong I guess.
- Alya had to do a double take thinking that Ladybug was literally an ancient goddess after she saw it on the papyrus
- She wasn’t with Pharaoh she was back inside with Alim, still live streaming
- Bunnix already knew that it was just a past ladybug user since Marinette is not that old
Bunnix: Wow, you are immature for your age. *Gets bonked*
- Cue Chat snorting and casually flirting with both of them at once
- This is when Pharaoh ended up hearing them and used his shock waves
- Bunnix ended up huddled on the ground for a moment, ears flat against her head
- Chat’s ears were also flicking in annoyance but he wasn’t as bothered as she was at the noise
- Hawkmoth was already shouting quite loudly in Pharaoh’s ear to deafen them with his sound waves
- Pharaoh wasn’t very amused with this and snapped at him to shut up
- Ladybug didn’t really wanna make Bunnix attack her brother head on so she got her and Chat to distract the mummies
- The mummies didn’t really care about Bunnix however, as Pharaoh wanted her miraculous the most
- The repeated soundwaves were slowing her down a lot, making her disoriented and clumsy with the loud noises and ringing in her ears
- To her it sounded like multiple bangs going off all at the same time
- Luckily she stores her miraculous in a pocket so it’s harder for him to reach
- Both of her team mates had noticed this and told her to get back inside with burrow
Ladybug: Bunnix, get out of there now! This is too much for you!
- Thankfully for them she listened and hopped back inside the Louvre near Alim and Alya
- She was clearly distressed about this particular Akuma which was taken note of by Alya
- She still didn’t see much wrong with learning the identities of hero’s
- Seeing an upset child has triggered Alim’s parental instincts however, and he was trying his best to cheer her up while Ladybug and Chat continued fighting Pharaoh
- Alya was still live streaming, sitting next to Bunnix
- She really wanted to ask questions but since Bunnix didn’t seem to be feeling that well she didn’t prod
- But she did ask Bunnix if she knew where the Akuma was, to which she stated it was most likely in the pendent around his neck
- That’s when Alim realized that he had sent Alix after Jalil right before he was akumatized and panicked immediately and left to go to his apartment
- Alya of course followed after him since Alix is her friend and she wanted to make sure she wasn’t hurt
- Bunnix was cursing like a mad man because she couldn’t really be in two places at once and Alim didn’t want her to be left alone in case Pharaoh came back
- He was extremely worried when they got to the apartment and Alix wasn’t there
Alim, extremely worried: Alix?! Alix you can come out! It’s dad!
Alya, whose also trying to find her and recording: Alix? Are you here?
Bunnix, sweating: Maybe she’s a mummy?
- She wasn’t able to sneak away to detransform so she just has to make up some bullshit about why Alix might not be there
- Pharaoh still tossed Ladybug off the building
- Cue Alim and Bunnix swearing about Hawkmoth not getting the powers right
- Alim wasn’t expecting her to know that
Alim: Wait a minute- You know about this stuff?
Bunnix: …My power is time travel?
Alim: Fair.
- Ladybug jokingly being offended about being called an insect
- The bullies still have the nerve to insult an akuma and get thrown across Paris
- None of the hero’s really gave a shit because if your that dumb natural selection was coming for you anyways
Chat: Ok how can literally three piles of bandages shaped like humans pick up an entire car
- The screaming of the mummies sounded like they came from a horror movie and Bunnix hearing it even from that far was a big: Nope
- They almost got the pendent off of him but he used his sound waves again to blast them back
- Ladybug managed to dupe him by giving him the fake ladybug earrings and snatched his pendent
- Bunnix eventually had to leave the apartment to go detransform and went outside on the opposite side of the louvre, to pretend she was a mummy
- She ran to her brother as soon as possible, nearly crying from relief
- Alim soon joined them after coming outside
- They ended up taking it easy for the rest of the day, not leaving the apartment
- Alix’s ears were still ringing from all the soundwaves
- Jalil however, was a little suspicious
- He has mostly been in control when he was first akumatized as he was around Alix
- She had disappeared rather quickly not even chasing after him but Bunnix appearing very quickly
- He didn’t comment on it though, as he didn’t have enough proof to back it up
- On the other side of the city though, the bullies were cowering in terror as Nora stood over them, cracking her knuckles
- They came in the next day with broken noses and wrists
- But Jalil had caught the eye of a sculpture who went to his school, who had offered his condolences on being akumatized as he was one of the mummies, even giving him a small statue as a feel better gift
- Cue a mini crush starting up that will grow into a bigger one
- The Ladyblog had been commenting on Bunnix’s struggle with this Akuma
- But it was just left off with people assuming it was a hard Akuma since she was still pretty new and had less experience
Tumblr media
@coulsonx asked: 💘 you know whomst
Tumblr media
send me 💘 + A SHIP and i’ll tell you—
where they first met and how
SHIELD. jessica was being pulled in about a particular situation that involved her and a few avengers getting into an altercation (relation to kilgrave’s influence on her and the ordered hit placed on daredevil and confusing him for scarlet witch). agent coulson was greeted with a very fed up and pissed off jessica that wanted nothing to do with SHIELD for having the audacity to ask her to join the agency in the aftermath of the incident. the information that was given to him did not seem like it was enough to fully grasp exactly the root of why she vehemently denied joining the avengers and SHIELD. although she didn’t apologize, she did feel apologetic for coming off strongly towards an agent that was simply doing his job.
how long their ‘flirting’ phase was before feelings got involved?
oh, their flirting phase never ended and it never will. jones and coulson refuse to believe that it ends when their feelings were finally said and admitted to one another. she usually starts it off with something small and subtle, coulson eats it up and goes bigger with his teasing. it’s really sweet and playful.
who fell for who first ( if applicable )
coulson was the one that caught deep feelings for jessica first. a little bit later down the line before not speaking to each other for several years, she caught feelings for him. it was the only time where she felt like she would never see him again so she bottled up her emotions in a jar and locked it away for ten years.
where their first date was and what it was like
the carnival along the piers in new york was a simple enough date. she disliked the loud crowd so they went just when the crowd was dying out, letting them enjoy some intimacy, she got to spend time with coulson in a better mindset as they never had a first date until they started talking to each other again. and for once, the date actually went well. she got to crack a few smiles and laugh genuinely with him. he took her home and gave her a small prize that he won for her. it was sentimental and very sweet.
who asks who out and how ( with a sign? spelled out on a cake? just a simple ‘will you go out with me’? )
this one’s very equal. coulson gets creative when he wants to. sometimes, it just comes out as a what if question. he’ll shoot her a text to go to dinner or asking her to attend some gathering as undercover (a rare occasion as he does his best not to get her involved out of protection) jessica, on the other hand, doesn’t like to beat around the bush. she’ll just ask if he wants coffee with her or take a walk at night or go to some theater to watch a movie. jessica is very lowkey and simple.
who proposes first
oddly enough, the proposal was initially a joke between them. jessica was the one to ask coulson seriously after a long time of just toying around with the idea (even if the subject barely came up, it was still a joke to them both)
if they keep / kept their relationship secret or let everyone know right away
at first, it was a mutual agreement for their relationship to be private. they don’t like being distracted from their work and they both didn’t want to hear any backlash or comments about their intimacy. slowly but surely after civil war and after all the dust was settled, growing closer to each other was the only subject left for both of them to really work on. at that point, jessica did not care of coulson went around telling everyone that he was in a relationship with her.
where the proposal happens and how ( kiss cam at a baseball game? on a hillside surrounded by ducks? at a disney park? )
it happened on one of their midnight strolls, passing by central park (much farther from her apartment). although hand in hand, she didn’t have a ring on her like she wanted to. it felt like summer outside, slightly humid with a little breeze. they stayed out for a few hours just laying in the grass to look up at the stars, far apart from anyone who could pass by. she felt the need to take a moment and ask if he would marry her.
if they adopt any pets together
on the farm, they have plenty of feral cats, a few goats, chickens. a nice sized patch of land to have their pets run around.
who’s more dominant
jessica seems to have the dominance a good chunk of the time when she wants to claim it and coulson isn’t not afraid to let her have that role. however, it would easily switch over to coulson for his authoritative nature.
where their first kiss was and what it was like
just outside of her favorite bar, in the alleyway when she likes to grab a drink if she doesn’t want to be in the apartment. it was actually slow and sweet at first, they were both cautious enough to test the waters with each other until they just consumed each other.
if they have any matching couples stuff ( mugs? sweaters? pillowcases? )
i don’t think they do it on purpose. she leans towards wearing dark colors anyway so there’s a chance that they’ll end up being matchy-matchy. like they both have a love for wearing band tees so it won’t be surprising if one of them is wearing the other’s shirt. (jessica wears oversized band tees so it fits coulson anyway.)
how into pda they are
they both love their privacy. coulson will sneak in a hand hold and it won’t bother her too much but she does get nervous and she’ll reel back into her shell. it took a minute for her to be completely comfortable with just holding his hand in public. it was nothing against him, she’s just very shy about who’s in her business but at the end of the day, they both believe it’s not anyone’s concern to butt in.
who holds the umbrella when it rains
coulson because he’s the tol one and jessica is too stubborn to carry an umbrella.
where their usual ‘date spot’ is ( if applicable )
anywhere that gives them intimacy, whether it’s in some restaurant that overlooks the city or at each other’s places. there’s no particular ‘date spot’ per say.
who’s more protective
jessica is more protective of coulson, regardless of his skillset. ofc she’s physically stronger but verbally cuts through anyone who wants to step to him, even if he can handle himself perfectly fine.
how long it is before they sleep together ( can be as in ‘had sex’ or as in ‘shared a bed’ )
literally -- it took them a week. and that’s the longest she’s waited to jump into bed with someone because she has a lot of respect for coulson.
if they argue about anything
about each other’s sleeping habits, jessica potentially relapsing, each other’s safety (that’s a big one), secrets that unveil themselves that hurts the other emotionally (i.e jessica finding out that coulson died and came back to life) they don’t have shouting matches but they do have heated arguments.
who leaves more marks ( lipstick, hickeys, scratchmarks etc. )
coulson at first but it shifted over to jessica very quickly.
who steals whose clothes and how often
jess is the thief who takes his shirts, hoodies, dress shirts, etc. whatever she finds to be comfortable and reminds her of coulson? it’s hers. it mostly happens if she’s run out of clothes to wear which is some of the time. coulson hide ur pjs.
how they cuddle ( spooning? facing each other? )
coulson is the little spoon to her big spoon. there is nothing in the entire world that she loves more than to hug from behind and just bury her face in his neck and back. she feels at home and very safe around him.
what their favourite nonsexual activity is
playing uno is their top favorite because it means that they have to dare each other to do stupid things like prank call the avengers tower.
how long they stay mad at each other
they may need a little space for a day or two, depending on their schedules. they’ve never gone more than a week from not talking to each other. if coulson is overseas on a mission, it never hurts to make a phone call just to see if she’s okay and vice versa.
what their usual coffee / tea orders are
jessica likes her coffee semi-sweet while he drinks his straight black.
if they ever have any children together
they raise danielle together and have a few pets when they leave downstate for upstate. it’s possible that they would have another child together just to really settle down but danielle is all that she and coulson are focusing on.
if they have any special pet names for each other
‘sweetheart‘ is a big sarcastic pet name. jess and coulson are comfortable being assholes to one another for the sake of being funny. there’s really no special nickname for them.
if they ever split up and / or get back together
they have broken up and gotten back together ten years later. it wasn’t very harsh the first time, they simply understood that they both needed to fix themselves before anything serious were to happen. on jessica’s end, it didn’t seem that way and she took it bitterly, feeling like she invested in a little more than she thought she did. they didn’t / couldn’t reach out to each other sooner due to certain circumstances.
what their shared living space is like ( messy? clean? what kind of decor? )
together at the farm, it’s an organized clutter. not very messy but you’ll see items that are always used readily placed to be picked up again. there’s no specific style to their farm other than it’s a farmhouse so there’s a flare of country living but much more modern for the both of them.
what their first christmas / hanukkah / etc as a couple was like
hm. their first holiday felt like more pressure than what there needed to be, at least for jess. i think in celebration of holidays, it’s very subtle and fun in their own way. it’s the only time where jessica doesn’t really celebrate because she had no one to celebrate it with / didn’t care of it as much. ever since she had danielle, her perspective changed a lot. add coulson into that mix and she’s way more optimistic and considerate of the people that surround her.
what their names are in each other’s phones
for coulson it’s just ‘jessica’ and for her it’s ‘super agent’ because she’s cute like that.
if they have any ‘couple traditions’ ( buying a new mug for their collection every year? baking every friday evening? )
make out in some alleyway, apparently LOL i think after they move to upstate, they take danielle to downstate at least a few times a year so she can get the best of both worlds.
who falls asleep first and who wakes up first
it depends on who’s more tired and who’s willing to wake up with the sun. jessica definitely sleeps in but she’s not always the first to fall asleep. sometimes she’ll wait for coulson to sleep first before she drifts off just in case he wanted to stay up and get his mind off.
who’s the big spoon / little spoon
coulson is the little spoon most of the time. jessica likes to be big spoon because he’s very comfortable to hold.
who hogs the bathroom
neither of them, i don’t think?
who kills the spiders / takes them outside
they’re both spider killers. danielle is the one that takes them outside.
Prologue
Rain pelted hard against the windowpane, melding with the sound of gunfire. A battle raged on the doorsteps of the small town. The women were forced to stay behind, as usual, to tend to the children while their sons, husbands, and fathers fought for their homes. Screams of the wounded could be heard on the wind haunted the worried. For days, the women sat in their homes with the crying children waiting for silence to come. All she could do was stand there and look out the window at the chaos that insured. Even as she waited for silence, she dreaded it. There was no way to tell which side was winning, to her, all dying men sound the same.
A loud crack echoed in the winds of the storm startling the dreamer awake.
Yellow streetlights shone through the translucent curtains. The pale lighting proved enough light to see around the room. Clothes, video games, and junk food packages littered the floor. On the bed, two figures could be seen. The first a young man, dead asleep the sheets pooled around his narrow hips. The other was a young woman who eyed the room wide-eyed, the sheets clutched tightly to her chest. A thin layer of sweat glistened on her skin in the mood light and her heavy breathes broke the silence.
She sighed heavily; another night went to waste with the consumption of alcohol.
Dessera barely remembered where she was or who she was with for that matter, but the pounding in her head suggested that she wasn't at her apartment like she had hoped. Swinging her feet off the side of the bed and glanced around the room. What she saw disgusted her. At the center of the room was a gaming chair with open packages of all types of food. A soda bottle lay on its side, its contents having been spilled on the floor and never taken care of. The urge to puke washed over her at the sight and she took a deep breath as she looked for her clothes. She quickly found her discarded clothing next to the bed where the man had tossed them, and she pulled them over her body. The tight dress was a nuisance as she danced around trying to get the zipper up her back. As she stumbled around, she stepped on an empty package of chips and she froze at the sound. She glanced over her shoulder at the man on the bed, scared she had brought him out of his sleep but to her relief he simply shifted around in his sleep to hug his pillow.
"Typical." She muttered as she searched around his room for her clutch. She found it slightly tucked under the bed next to her thigh holster. Her eyes widened, remembering that she had been carrying. A cloudy memory crossed her mind of the man seeing the gun on her inner thing and calling her a badass. He had been way too drunk to even care about the fact that she'd had a rather small 9mm strapped to her throughout the night. She strapped the gun back to her leg, this time with the weapon on the outside and her dress over the top of it, not caring if it was covered or not.
She left the house as silently as she could, being careful to lock the bottom handle before she left to be courteous. Just like her dream, the weather seemed to be unforgiving in its downpour on her. Not that she minded. She loved the rain, preferred it to the hot days of summer. She did not like to be too warm and it was easier to layer up than cool down. Before she stepped off the porch, she checked her phone for the time and saw that it was three in the morning. And that she had 18 missed calls, 30 unread text messages, 3 voicemails. Panic bubbled in her chest as she brought the phone to her ear to listen to the message.
'Serra! I need help. I just got done with a hunt but I'm severely injured. Your place is the closest. I am headed there now, hopefully, I don't bleed out before you get this. Hurry! Please!' The answering box beeped and asked her what she wanted to do with the message, and she starred at the phone. The message had come through over thirty minutes ago and it was quite possible she was too late.
"Fuck!" She exclaimed. A chill ran through her body and she desperately wished she had a coat, but she couldn't think of that. Her little sister was very possibly bleeding out on her porch, and she needed to get to her as soon as possible. Luckily, there wouldn't be anyone on the roads at this time of the day and no one to question why she was running through the street.
As she ran, her heels dangling from her fingertips, she thought about where she was. Looking at all the signs she passed her foggy brain was able to tell her she was not too far from her apartment and her sister whom she hoped was still alive. She smelled like the guy she had woken up next to and it was suffocating her. Her friends had convinced her to go to the club last night and she had gotten very drunk on scotch. She danced the night away, and some of the mornings, the rest was a blur in her mind. She knew exactly what had happened after her fourth round. Her flirtation skills must have come out because she vaguely remembered catching the eye of some other highly intoxicated guy in glasses. He had been attractive, so she went for it. Next thing she knew she was waking up in a dark room from an extremely weird dream. Just a typical Sunday morning for her.
A loud honk brought her out of her thoughts, and she looked up to see a very expensive looking car inches from her legs. She looked around and realized she had run into the middle of an intersection in her haze. Stumbling out of the way, she yelled her apology and continued on her way. The pounding in her head still had not ceased and it was beginning to make her nauseous. "Fuck this hangover." She grumbled to herself shielding her eyes as the car she had almost run into pulled up in front of her.
"Miss?" A car door slammed, followed by the opening of an umbrella, and she stopped her feet where they were. "Miss? Are you alright?"
"Stop. Stop right there." Before the man could get any closer to her, she brandished her heels at him threateningly. All her running had tossed everything in her stomach and while she had been ignoring nausea for the last 5 minutes, she couldn't hold it in any longer. Without hesitation, she leaned over and, let the contents of her stomach hit the pavement. The man stopped where he was and held up his empty hand to show her, he meant no harm. She stood straight, eyes squinting as she wiped her mouth with her free hand and eyed him up and down looking for any signs of a supernatural being.
"Um... are you ok?" He asked her, tentatively taking a step closer. She lowered her 'weapon' after a moment, satisfied that he wasn't anything dangerous, and nodded. She met him in the middle and dropped her hand to her side, letting her heels dangle again.
"I apologize. I'm a hunter and not feeling the best. Can't be too careful." She stated in a rush and looked up at the man.
"That's alright, but is it normal for you to hold someone at heel point at 3 in the morning? Especially since you have a gun on your hip?" He inquired amused. She took a moment to really take a look at him and she realized that he was in a suit and tie. His features were hard to see in the low-lit street but assumed he had a mischievous look on his face from his tone of voice. She could see that he had dirty blonde hair, high cheekbones, and piercing blue eyes.
"What can I say, strangers bring out the best in me and I wouldn't need my gun to take you down" She finally answered.
Surprised by her blunt response he asked "Well, are you ok? Would you like a ride?"
"No, I'm alright. My home is close to here, I can walk just fine. Thank you for your concern." She gave him a small smile and made to go around him. A gentle hand shot out and caught her by the arm, stopping her. She looked up at him with wide eyes, a small flicker of fear started to grow in the pit of her stomach. Just because he was in a suit and showed no supernatural signs didn't mean he wasn't a threat. However, he knew she had a gun and that she was a hunter. He would be stupid to try anything. She let her fear simmer back down and turned it into a cautious awareness.
"Are you sure? You seem upset. I promise I mean well and you clearly can handle yourself." He was trying to look her in the eyes, but something told her he could see right through her attempts to hide her miserable state of mind. She was annoyed with herself for getting into the situation that had led to this. She knew better. On top of which her so-called "friends" had left her there.
"I live a ten-minute walk from here. I'll be alright." Her reply seemed to be lost in the pouring rain, but his ears seemed to pick up on her words.
"It's pouring and you're soaked. Allow me to get you to some heat before you get sick." His grip on her arm tightened for a second before falling to his side. She looked him dead in the eyes. There was no lie in his eyes, and she could tell by the tone of his voice that he held no ill will towards her.
"Alright. But if you pull any funny business, I will use my gun." She threatened, pointing at him with one hand and patting her gun with the other.
"I believe you." The man chuckled, seemingly unfazed but her threat. With a nod, she allowed him to help her into the car. He turned the heater up the moment he got in and she eagerly placed her hands against the vent. She was still on her guard but with her gun on her thigh, she figured she would probably be alright with this man.
"Thank you."
"My pleasure. Do you mind me asking why you seem so upset that you run into the street?" He asked her as he set off in the direction she pointed to. She glanced over at him, wondering how the man didn't question why she was barely dressed and out so early this morning. He glanced at her, a look of pure innocence on his face and she raised an eyebrow at him in suspicion. Does this man live under a rock? She thought to herself before she responded.
"I...went home with a man earlier this evening and decided not to stay the night." She told him as she stared out the window, completely missing the knowing smile on his face. This was all the information she was comfortable sharing with him. They lapsed into silence aside from the directions she gave him.
In reality, the car ride was only maybe three minutes long, but it felt like an eternity. She had her hand on her weapon the entire time as a precaution, but he made no move towards her. As they pulled into the apartment complex, she directed him in the opposite direction of her apartment. There was no way she was going to let him see which apartment she was in, especially since her sister was there injured. He pulled into a vacant spot and she turned taking the seatbelt off. He put the car in park and looked over at her.
"Thank you for the ride." She said as she put her hand on the door handle.
"Of course. I assume you would like me to leave the parking lot before you go to your apartment." He stated and she laughed. That is exactly what she had planned on asking him.
"How did you know?" She chuckled, shaking her head.
"Lucky guess. Here," He reached behind him into the backseat and grabbed the umbrella he had placed on the floor. "take this. No need to get any more soaked than you already are."
"...thank you." This time she was shocked by his genuine kindness and took the umbrella from him. She smiled and opened the door. As she stepped out of the car, she opened the umbrella and held it over her head. Before the man could say anything more to her or ask her name, she gently closed the door and made her way over to the walkway. He gave her a small nod and a smile before he turned around and pulled out of the spot. As he turned back around to face her again, she saw a flash of dark hair and horns and a chill ran down her spine. The moment she registered what she had seen though it was gone, and the handsome young man's face was back smiling at her. He waved goodbye at her and she stiffly waved back.
Was she just seeing things or had that man been a demon?
