✨ if BTS were the bridge crew of a Star Trek ship ✨
I have spent an absolutely u n h i n g e d amount of time on this
setting this in the 2370s, on a Lotus Flower class starship (bc how could I not?) with an exploration mission LET'S GO
Tumblr media
Captain Kim Namjoon (obviously). A Bajoran, deeply philosophical & anti-imperialist. Top of his Academy class, just made Captain. USS Bangtan is his pride & joy, but his real devotion is to his crew, especially his 7-man bridge crew. His typical uncool Captain hobby (they all have one) is reciting poetry.
Tumblr media
XO Commander Jung Hoseok, 2nd in command. Human, curious & deceptively hardy. Joon's details guy. Runs the crew with an effective combination of terrifying strictness & genuine love. Might close his eyes & hold on tight during ship maneuvers, don't call attention to it. Idolised by the junior bridge crew.
Tumblr media
Chief Engineer Min Yoongi. Human, but raised Caitian (his parents were Federation citizens living on Cait, he went to Caitian nursery and school, had all Caitian friends and babysitters). People find him impossible to read; this is partly by his design & partly bc his body language is literally catlike. Genius engineer who secretly loves being relied on for miracles, but complains constantly. Very protective. The earpiece is so he can listen to music while he works; you know things are really fucking serious if he takes it out.
Tumblr media
Chief Medical Officer Lt. Commander Kim Seokjin. His job consists of saving lives and yelling at people for being excessively heroic. The only one who can overrule Joon, if medically necessary. Enjoys spending time on the bridge making unhelpful jokes. Has ALL the best holosuite programmes. Told half the ship that the old-fashioned glasses are just for show because he likes the vintage aesthetic and the other half that they've got state-of-the-art micro-scanners for instant diagnostic information relay. Actually he's short-sighted but doesn't want to tell his patients he hasn't gotten around to getting that fixed yet.
Tumblr media
Chief Comms Officer Lieutenant Park Jimin. Human-Betazoid, with empathetic psychic abilities. The ship's literal mood-maker. Adores his job, which he sees as "getting the whole galaxy to like him". Absolutely fantastic at first contact. Inseparable from Tae; they were the only two half-humans in their Academy class. Jimin had a harder time at school, despite not standing out so much visibly, and has absolutely flourished now he's found his place.
Tumblr media
Chief Tactical Officer Lieutenant Kim Taehyung. Human-Orion & more than willing to use anti-Orion prejudices to manipulate situations. He plays up his sexy, sultry, vague persona, but his crew knows he's exceptionally hard to deceive or outmanoeuvre. Deadly loyal, especially to Jimin. Has a reputation for bending the rules, but it's hard to argue with his results.
Tumblr media
Helmsperson Ensign Jeon Jungkook. Vulcan, very physically strong, mildly confused by everyone. Ace pilot, set Academy records in piloting & martial arts. It's his first day on the job, first ship, first crew, & he's so determined to impress his hyungs he's kinda scaring them!

introducing #ughreads 💌
hi, friends! in an effort to practice what i preach and both a) be more involved, and b) foster a more positive environment, i've decided to join the club and create a tracked tag for fellow writers: #ughreads.
i don't have a huge following, but i know how daunting it can be to promote your work both as a new writer and one with a smaller platform, so here i am to do my little part.
more info below! •ᴗ•
💌 how it'll work
feel free to use my tag the same way you'd use any network, etc. tag.
i will check the tag sporadically throughout the week (and tbh probably not much at all on weekends/holidays). if i like your post, i've seen it and will reblog soon.
if you use the tag and i don't reblog within a week, please feel free to shoot me a message. we all know how sitewide tags get funky.
i may not read & review every single one, but i will try my best to do so when i have time. ♡
💌 rules
open to all 18+ bts writers. (please respect this. if you don't have your age listed somewhere visible on your blog, i will not reblog your work.)
everything must be tagged appropriately, including content and trigger warnings and rating.
fics can be any pairing, including member x member.
all reblogs are at my discretion, but content i absolutely will not reblog: any kind of sexual assault (rape, noncon, dubcon, etc.), any kind of abuse (sexual, physical, emotional), incest, pedophilia, graphic violence, extreme darkfic content, romanticized self-harm and mental & physical illness. i think you get the idea, but if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to shoot me a message!
feel free to use my tag for any kind of written content! chaptered fics, oneshots, social media aus, story and collab masterlists, etc.
💌 other
i know how we all get in our heads, so please do not feel weird about using the tag! even if we aren't mutuals or if we've never spoken before, the tag is there for you to use. you put so much time and effort into your work and it deserves to be seen. ↳ if i wasn't clear about anything written here, or if you still have any questions, shoot me an ask!

You didn’t get much sleep that night. It would be a little weird if you did.
So much happened to you. Your mind was spinning, still wondering if everything you experienced was real. You tried to convince yourself by every possible means that this was all some kind of really weird dream and all would be normal when you wake up.
Every minute of your day was more real than you could have imagined. But you didn’t know that, or more like you didn’t want to know that.
If it was real it means you nearly died and a man manifested out of nowhere into your apartment who was currently sleeping on your bed.
You wanted there to be an answer, an explanation, anything to make sense of this. The impossible has happened. You, of all beings in the universe, had experienced the impossible.
So many questions were bouncing around in your head but one shined more than the others.
What was going to happen in the morning? What the fuck was going to happen once he wakes up? You were worried, concerned, but worst of all, you were scared. You were literally fearing for your life as you stared up at the ceiling. Your mind was so loud, filled with a dread you couldn’t describe. It was worse than earlier, facing your mortality was one thing, but it really felt like you made it to the end of the line.
He was here for a reason. Despite his angelic appearance your mind couldn’t help but take a dark turn.
It was because of all of this that you were able to see the sky light up, turning from a starry void to a light blue hue, and the sun slowly began to peek through your windows. You didn’t really fall asleep, more so passed out eventually at some point in time.
Even that was a stretch.
Your mind was plagued with nightmares the entire time you were out.
There was one time. You thought you woke up to find Jimin standing right above you, just staring, waiting, ready to drag you back to wherever he came from.
It was a hell unlike no other.
You were only able to sleep for 3 hours before your eyes shot wide open. You quickly checked your phone and saw it was 10:30. You looked around and saw your apartment as lifeless as it typically was.
Was it all a dream?
You hurriedly got up and went to your room. As soon as you saw the door was slightly closed your heart dropped, a quick peek inside was all you needed to reaffirm that yesterday happened.
There Jimin was, your comforter barely covering his frame. His torso was almost fully on display, he laid in a way that made it obvious how amazing his physique was, and your eyes couldn’t help but trail down further to his toned thighs. The only thing that was left to the imagination was where it mattered, but you couldn’t stress this enough, it just barely covered things up.
Holy shit what were you doing?!
You quickly evaded your eyes and closed the door behind you.
There’s a naked man in your room. Last night wasn’t a dream.
Oh boy…
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
Jimin awoke to a loud bang. His eyes shot open and almost like an instinct he sat up and looked around. That’s when he felt it, an intense throbbing in his head.
He didn’t think about it at all and was so worried about what happened to you that he got up without thinking and fell straight on his face. He heard hurried footsteps and what shocked him so much was you, you… you were looking at him.
“Jimin?!” You panicked.
Did—Did you just say his name?
Jimin slowly lifted his head to meet your eyes. You were looking at him…
You got down on the ground to help him up. “Are you ok? What happened?”
“You can see me?”
“Yes I can, we went through this yesterday– You remember yesterday right?” As soon as you said that he thought back to the previous day and the memories slowly started to come back. He remembered going to sit with you on the couch when everything went black, suddenly he was looking up at you and you were looking back at him, the sickness, the nausea, everything it all came back.
“I do… I–” Jimin had to lean back, that stupid headache making it a bit hard to sit straight but the information was too much to take in as well. What the fuck is happening to him?
It hit him. Whatever it was way more serious than what it initially appeared. Jimin somehow managed to manifest into the normal plane, completely out of his control, he was sick, he went to sleep. Angels don’t fall asleep for fucks sake. He has never slept in all the time since he awakened.
“Hey, hey, hey, what’s going on?” You asked, noticing he was starting to breathe heavily.
“Y/n this is bad, this is so bad. I don’t know what’s happening to me?!” Jimin panicked and you knew he was on the verge of breakdown.
This may have not been the smartest decision, but you pulled him into an embrace. “Hey it’s going to be ok. We’ll figure this out.”
Will you? Jimin couldn’t even feel the angelic energy coursing through his veins anymore. He knew it was there, but it was so diminished he could hardly sense his other half.
“Y/n you don’t understand–”
“You’re right I don’t understand, but I do understand that you aren’t well. I can’t have you getting yourself worked up and making whatever’s wrong worse.” You could still feel how warm he was.
This couldn’t be real, none of this. You, your arms around him. Jimin was too sick to think clearly, but all he wanted to do was feel you. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in tightly. This didn’t feel real whatsoever.
Isolation, screaming in a void from the world being unfair, now he can touch you. Has his prayers been answered, was this real?
Holding you close like this finally made him realize he was still very much so naked. He pushed you back slightly before grabbing a hold of the sheets to cover himself. He could practically feel the words on his wrist burning.
It wasn’t here, he could feel it, but he knew that his other half would have been scolding him already for being this way. This is an emergency situation and all he can focus on was how nice your body felt against his.
It was sin.
“Oh my gosh, I’m sorry… I just ran in here without thinking.” You apologized. “I’ll give you some time to put your clothes back on. I was actually making us breakfast if you think you can eat.”
“Yeah, I’ll be out there.” Jimin gave you a soft smile. Did he eat? No, like everything else he hasn’t been hungry since he died for the last time. He would eat occasionally, but was there ever a need? No, never. Today though it was weird, he wasn’t starving by any means, but that urge was there. Just another thing to worry about…
You got up to get things ready but your feet stopped you before you made it out the door. “Hey Jimin…”
He hummed as he hopped back on the bed.
“What are you…? You're not here to hurt me, right?”
Jimin looked at you like you were crazy. “As your guardian angel, the last thing I would want to do is hurt you.” The name made him cringe, that wasn’t exactly what he was but it was always the simplest way to get humans to understand what he does.
“Why are you here?”
“Something’s wrong with me… I don’t know how I ended up here.” He couldn’t lie to you, especially since this involves you as well. You were in danger now because of this fluke.
You turned around and smiled before walking out and closing the door behind you.
You’re in danger because of him. If he’s not watching over you then…
Jimin hurriedly got dressed before bursting the door. You were standing there with a plate in hand as you were moving it to the counter.
“Jimin what’s–” He shushed you as he scanned around the room. Something was off, very very off. He waited a few seconds, feeling, knowing they were here. They would have to be here, you were a human unguarded. The amount of activity from them during the short breaks guardians would take sometimes was astounding.
Jimin’s had that position sometimes and it was even busier than when he’d be watching over a human himself. Those breaks would only last a few minutes in the normal plane, but Jimin’s been out for 12 hours at least.
Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck.
“Y/n don’t move.”
“Why–”
That’s when he felt it, that slit ripple in the fabric of this plane. The evil trying to climb through, it was slight but massive in comparison to what he would normally feel.
Jimin grabbed his handle from his pocket.
“Y/n get down, don’t look up no matter what, ok. Stay behind the counter.” You didn’t think twice and dropped to your feet.
How he was going to do this was far beyond him. His angelic energy was diminished to a degree he had never seen before, he was as good as human, but it’s one thing he knows for sure that will allow him to make it through this alive is you. He’s not letting these monsters anywhere near you.
He swore to protect you, shitty feeling or not he will see that promise through.
No matter what.
Jimin turned the rings on his handle and it split in half, forming two smaller handles, which then formed with angelic light became two small smgs. His diminished angelic energy didn’t allow for anything more. He was going to find a way, he trained and defeated enemies with less.
Jimin took a deep breath. The rift was getting even bigger and you, his human, you were terrified. You were never meant to see this. He gathered up the anger and by using his wings to push himself forward, he was able to break through the rift.
It was worse than what he thought. In this endless, white void it was filled with horrendous creatures hording around the rift, with their target all being you. Now that he’s gone through, it was even easier for them to break out. He had to defeat them.
Jimin lifted the guns, quickly analyzing the best course of action to handle this situation. Most would lead to being overtaken, and others he knew he didn’t have the energy to pull it off. There was only one that gave him some sort of fighting chance.
He aimed at the one in the center, the quick shots of light were able to take it down relatively quickly. The shots aggravated the horde and Jimin quickly flew up to avoid being crushed. The distraction was enough, and even though he was wobbly, he managed to fly behind the herd. From there he took out a few of the larger ones in the back that would be too hard for him in this state to take on by hand. It was the last final push before he turned the dials on his guns and brought them together again to form a handle with light beams coming from both ends.
This was a hard conjugation, but he needed melee. A greater distance would be better but he didn’t have the energy to keep shooting. He’s already taken out the most worrisome ones, the weaker ones were the only ones to remain now. The risk comes now, while there were only smaller weaker opponents left, the amount he had to defeat was immense. Hundreds probably swarmed him from all angles.
His head hurt like crazy and it was taking everything in his power to keep this conjugation going, but he was going to do this. You were right on the other side of that rift, he had to take them down.
They swarmed, charging toward him, while Jimin got in his battle stance. Ignoring the throbbing in his head, he took the staff and as soon as they got into distance he started swinging. All it took was one touch of the light to see the creatures burn, shrivel up, and die. He was strategic, using his eons worth of training to keep them at a reasonable distance. He conserved energy when needed and used it when he must. Despite the odds, Jimin was skilled, one of the best fighters of the human reincarnates.
Celine and Atara used to say it was because of their teachings as before… well before they were also some of the best. Jimin knew the real reason though. There was something so satisfying about crucifying your enemy, hearing it scream, wail, squirm, seeing its dark flesh burn with purity before turning into ash.
Jimin liked it so much he worked harder to make sure he could hear it every time.
This time things were different. There was no way none of these demonic hell spawns would ever make it to you. You were his pure flower, Jimin’s hard work over the years has made it so you were hardly tainted. Whatever this ailment was, there was no way it was going to come in the way of protecting you from these monsters.
Jimin fought with an intensity he knew he didn’t have the energy for, but these demons were making him upset and they were going to feel it.
After a little while, he made it toward the less of them. All it took was a couple more swings and all that surrounded him was piles of ash. Jimin let himself fall to the ground, the effects of the battle finally taking its toll. His head hurt so much, a throbbing even worse than before echoed in his head.
You were fine, that’s all that matters.
Jimin turned toward the rift ready to assess the damage, it was so large that he knew it would need a little bit of repairing, but his eyes widened to find he missed one. Instead of heading for him, it was going straight toward the rift.
It was right there.
Jimin used all his energy to fly over as quickly as he could. It was practically at the rift before Jimin grabbed its wings and threw it on the ground.
“Where the fuck do you think you’re going?” Jimin’s voice was calm but all he could feel was rage. How dare it try and get to you?
The creature made a weird sound as Jimin got on top of it. It was clear the slam on the ground stunned it, but that didn’t stop him from taking a seat right on its chest.
This creature was weird looking like all of the rest of them. Its face was distorted, eyes where they shouldn’t be, mouths where they shouldn’t be, and its face was in the shape of a flower. It had a long neck, with a thin tiny body, short legs, and little wings on the back. It was awful.
“How dare you try and touch her…” Rage, malice filled his voice. Jimin held it down, making sure to stare it right in the face.
“You disgusting creature, trying to go after what’s mine.”
Jimin grabbed his handle, turned the dials to make a small knife from the light. He brought it over his head.
“How dare you…” He brought it down, slamming the knife right in its face. It screamed. He took it back out and did it again, and again, and again…
“HOW DARE YOU!!!” Jimin screamed into the void. He kept going until all that was left of the creature of a pile of black. The knife wasn’t enough to burn the creature, but it did lose its form.
Jimin could see it, once the creature had melted down, and all that remained was a black tar-like substance, he could see that look in his eye. He went too far, didn't he?
He didn’t think too much about it though and got up, he managed to crucify what remained of the creature and it was finally then, after one good look around was he able to breathe again. He did it. Everything was going to be ok.
Jimin fell to his knees, the throbbing getting even worse. He’s so tired…
After a few minutes he was able to pick himself back up and examine the rift. It was going to need his help to close it.
Jimin sat down, unable to stand at this point. He brought his hands together before slowly pulling them apart again to form a tiny string at the center of his palms. After it was long enough, he broke it off his hands and started to get to work. He was literally sewing together space and time. He didn’t do much, the pain in his head only allowing him to do the bear minimum before calling it a day.
The rift was all but gone to any other eye, but Jimin could see through the cracks and wished he could have done a better job. You though, were waiting on the other side and he was this close to collapsing.
Jimin crawled a good distance away before outstretching his wings again. With a good running start, he took charge straight for the rift easily able to make it past his needle work. Normally he liked to do this from the other side, but he didn’t want you to see him work on it, that would be too much for your eyes. Some might wonder, well how did he make it past if it was closed but angelic presence is able to transform into something small enough that it can fit past what demonic creatures can’t. It still would have been better to do it on the other side, but…
Your eyes stared straight ahead at the fridge that was right in front of you. You stayed still like Jimin asked, you never looked, you didn’t want to look but you definitely heard.
It was faint, very very faint, but you know you heard it. Screams. They sounded like they were in so much pain, a pain you didn’t even want to think about. You hoped it was whatever Jimin told you to be careful of, but at some point, you feared if Jimin was the one causing something to scream like that.
Nothing should ever scream like that…
Your mind was wandering and you were startled once you heard a crash happen behind the counter. Your body stilled and you felt like your heart would stop until you heard the quiet groan of Jimin.
You peaked your head around the corner to see Jimin struggling to get up off the floor, those beautiful wings you thought you dreamed were back, blood soaked his shirt, and the markings all over his skin glowed.
“Jimin?” You hesitantly said. He turned toward you and you were even more shocked to find that one of his eyes had changed to an enchanting blue color that seemed to glow.
What the fuck happened?
You got up slowly and made your way over.
“What—“
“It’s fine. Don’t worry, they’re gone.” He said, falling to the floor.
“I was going to say, what happened to you?”
His eyes locked on with yours.
“You seem… different, not to mention the blood…” You tried to smile, but in all honesty you were terrified.
Your question seemed to stun him.
“I took care of it. Just… a few battle scars, doesn’t even hurt…” His speech was starting to slur and you saw his eyes quickly closing. You hurried over and managed to catch him before his head hit the ground.
Things began to fade quickly after. The wings were gone, the markings went back to looking like tattoos, you even saw before his eyes closed, the blue one had returned back to brown.
Oh gosh… What are you going to do now?
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
Jimin’s eyes shot wide open, he quickly checked his surroundings to find that it had gotten dark and you were nowhere to be found. One quick look down the hall confirmed you were in the shower.
Jimin let himself relax knowing you were ok. It was then that he noticed a blanket had been nicely placed over his form and you had somehow managed to move him to the couch. His shirt was gone as well, but he noticed it was folded neatly on the coffee table. He hurriedly put it on before he could think about it too much.
He couldn’t ignore the way his heart seemed to skip two beats just thinking about you taking care of him. You cared, fuck, what was he doing?
This shouldn’t be happening.
Jimin stared up at the ceiling. He groaned at the cruelty of the situation. He’s finally living out his dream, but this shouldn’t be happening.
The only reason why he hasn’t wiped your memory and gone back to headquarters was the literal fact he couldn’t at the moment. Crossing planes takes a lot of energy, it’s another reason why angels don’t come to the normal plane unless it is assigned or they plan on staying for a while. It’s a bit of a task even in tip top condition, but whatever caused his power to drain, got it so low that he couldn’t leave even if he wanted to.
The good news was now he could feel it slowly starting to come back. It was weird, but whatever happened during that fight kick started it, and now he was ever so slightly able to feel his energy getting stronger. It was slow, probably is going to take a few days at least to return to normal levels, but at least it’s going somewhere.
Jimin worried though. He couldn’t fight anymore. He couldn’t.
That fight had drained him so much, there was no way he would be able to do it again. That was only half a day's worth of his post being unattended, but a few days would surely cause a literal tear and you would become horribly corrupted.
You wouldn’t even notice, but Jimin would see those horrible creatures he’d been fighting merge with your body. If a few hours can cause a buildup like that, a few days worth might corrupt your soul to the point you would be destined for hell.
Not on his watch.
What was he going to do?
Jimin sighed, letting the silence give him space to think.
….
Oh!
A blessing would work! It would ward away those nasty creatures long enough for Jimin to recover and return to his post. There was a problem though… Blessings need to be authorized.
They were only used for special case scenarios, a direct order from a higher up. Out of all the souls Jimin’s looked over, he could count on one hand the amount of blessings he’s handed out.
They would understand right? Eventually when he makes it back to headquarters he would recount the weird occurrence and Jimin would explain the blessing was out of necessity to protect you.
Right… it was simple, they would understand. He didn’t really have much of a choice…
It was a few minutes later that you came out of the bathroom. You had changed for bed, with a towel around your neck. It was another one of those moments that despite the desperate situation, he was reminded once again of his stupid feelings for you.
There’s something wrong with him.
Your attention turned to him after you closed the door behind you.
“Jimin! You’re finally up again!” You smiled and made your way over to the couch. It was fake, you were scared of him, he knew that.
“I… I’m not going to hurt you, I promise.” He could tell by the look on your face that you weren’t expecting him to say that.
“Don’t even try and say you aren’t scared, I know. I don’t blame you from what you saw today. You were never meant to see any of this.” He felt bad. It was because of his fuck up that you were in this situation in the first place.
You took a seat beside him.
“I will admit, all of this has been a lot… A lot, a lot actually. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around everything and that’s why I’m so afraid. It’s nothing against you, don’t blame yourself. You seem just as confused as I am, you’re probably scared too.” You reached out and put your hand on top of his with that sweet smile on your face. It was genuine.
This was awful. Jimin doesn’t have a body, what you’re seeing is what he wants you to see. He isn’t human at all, but somehow you manage to make his nonexistent heart skip a couple beats. This was dangerous…
You were right. He was scared.
“I don’t know how you’re making it. You’re always so brave.” You smiled at the compliment.
“You speak like we’ve known each other…?” You giggled.
“We do… or I know you at least. I’ve watched over you for a little while now— uh not in the weird way! That sounds so creepy, but like… I’ve protected you from afar.” Jimin tried to save the situation, but he just made himself more and more flustered.
That was a lie, he’s definitely overstepped what he should have seen on more than a few occasions.
You laughed at this. “I don't think there's a way to not make that sound creepy, but I know what you mean. Thank you, for protecting me that is…”
Jimin could have melted right there.
“I guess I got a glimpse of it earlier, but if you’re seriously going through all that all the time for me… you’re amazing. I don’t think there are words to really tell you how grateful I am.” You smiled and you definitely saw him staring at you like an idiot.
The burning was back, even worse than before. Sin, you were so much sin. Jimin held his wrist tightly as he watched you speak, the burning getting worse and worse with each word.
“I… thank you, no one really thanks us like that, until well… but I’m happy to serve you. You’re… you’re amazing.” It hurt at this point at how much the word burned on his wrist. What was he doing…
You smiled again, your face getting hot at the compliment.
Jimin knew this. He knew everything. Oh fuck, this was so bad.
He cleared his throat. “Well um, about protecting you… What I fought earlier will come back and I’m not really in the condition to fight them. I’m getting better, I can feel it, but I have a proposition to protect you in the meantime…” You looked at him intrigued as he spoke.
“I’m all ears~”
“Uh— well, I could bless you. The blessing would take a lot of my energy, but it would be powerful enough to make sure those things don’t come after you till I can get back to my position. Does that sound ok?”
You looked away, thinking for a second. “Sounds good!”
“Are you fine with me staying here with you? This would set me back a few days, but I should be better hopefully within the next week.” You didn’t think about it this time.
“Of course you can stay! Who am I to turn you away~” You laughed at the thought and he couldn’t help but laugh along with you.
You closed your eyes and leaned forward. “Alright, bless me Mr. Angel~” You said happily and waited.
Seeing you like that in front of him made Jimin remember exactly how he does this. His face suddenly turned 50 shades of red and those 3 letters were burning harder then ever.
“I, uh, I probably should have explained how I do it before I had you agree…” Jimin was suddenly extremely embarrassed and even you seemed to pick up on this.
“Uh, it’s not gonna hurt right?” You asked wearily.
“No! No, not at all, just ummm…” Oh fuck, oh fuck… This was so much easier when they couldn’t see him. This made everything 10x more awkward.
“Me— uh— In order to bless you, I uh… need to…”
“What is it?” You finally cut in.
“Kissyourcheek—“ The words finally came out. His face was so red at this point, you would have thought he just asked to have sex with you. For fucks sake, it wasn’t even on the mouth, but for him this was almost just as bad. It was sin, sin with a purpose, but still sin nonetheless considering who’s the recipient.
“Is that— uh— is that ok?” He asked timidly.
His shyness seemed to be affecting you as well as you as you got all hot when he said it.
“That’s fine, I mean, yeah if that’s how you do it, go for it.” You eventually smiled. You turned your head a little and closed your eyes once again.
Jimin felt his own face heat up and the sin on his wrist burn. It’s fine, just don’t think about it.
He kept his grip tight on his wrist as he leaned in. If anyone would have been watching they would have thought they were shooting for some kdrama at the level of intensity he was making this quick kiss on the cheek seem.
It wasn’t a big deal.
Jimin’s lips finally connected with your cheek and you couldn’t deny the way your heart fluttered at the feeling. His lips were soft and you didn’t know if it was the blessing or this is just what a kiss from an angel feels like, but an electric feeling of warmth spread throughout your entire body. It was nice… comfort, a warm hug in a way no normal person could give.
Jimin pulled away and lingered a little too close to your face for too long. His eyes looked right into yours before drifting further to land on your lips. He wanted to so bad…
It was one of those intrusive thoughts. Your lips on his, making out like crazy, with your hands all over him… you would feel and taste so good. Later he would have those same pretty lips around his…
Ok. Ok, he’s actually lost his damn mind.
The pain in his wrist was too much at this point.
Jimin hurriedly pulled away fully and made sure to avoid your eyes. An awkwardness quickly fell over the room.
“Uh, was that it?” You finally asked.
“Yep, you’ll be protected now.”
Silence…
“Ummm, did you want something to eat? I was gonna give you breakfast earlier, but, well, you know what happened. I can make us dinner!” You offered.
Jimin looked over.
‘Us…’
“Yeah, I’d like that a lot actually.” Jimin smiled.
And so you got to work. Jimin took a seat at your little table and in between a little small talk, soon you were opening your steamer to reveal the Korean dumplings you made.
Jimin’s eyes widened and he could practically feel you beaming at your creation. You happily served him a plate and eagerly awaited his reaction.
One bite in and he swore he died and came back. It was the first time he’s eaten something with a purpose and it made everything seem different.
“This is amazing…” He made sure to tell you and you couldn’t be happier.
Jimin was in a good mood and managed to shake away that awkwardness that still lingered. A quick look at the time told him that the show you always watch was about to come on. He made sure to let you know and you eagerly turned it on and this sparked conversation as the both of you were finally able to rant to each other about the content.
It's like something he would have dreamt of. You, this, normal…
The night really ended like a dream. The both of you asleep on the couch as the tv continued to play with a marathon of another show the both of you like. It was too normal, a dream, a dream that wasn’t meant to be his….
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
The next few days were uneventful. They were normal, which in Jimin’s case, was horrible. He started to get a little too comfortable being here with you. At some point in time he forgot, or more so, willingly ignored the fact that he was your guardian.
He was enjoying this fake reality a little too much.
It was a chance to see what could have been if he were human too and by your side. You were so sweet and attentive, caring for him even after he said he didn’t need it anymore.
Slowly but surely he started to lose the need to eat and sleep again. It was kinda funny how normally this would be a sign he was getting worse, but it was quite the opposite. He was going back to normal, his normal.
That still didn’t stop him from enjoying the moments when you’d give him food with the intention of making sure he gets better. You’d spend all night watching all the shows that Jimin would sit beside you and watch all without you knowing. The day would end with a good night's sleep. You would make it to your bed most of the time, but sometimes you would fall asleep right beside him on the couch just like that first night.
When he didn’t need to sleep anymore, that didn’t stop him from forcing himself to close his eyes to pretend. He wanted to keep this illusion going for as long as possible. It’s a feeling of normalcy that Jimin never craved till he met you.
Never once did he have a desire to be human again till you came into his life, and this, whatever this mistake was, it allowed him to see what that life could have been like. This was bad.
What are you doing?
Shut up… please, just shut up.
Do I even need to say anything at this point?
No you don’t, I know.
You must know we need to leave. Somethings wrong with you…
I know…
Leave, we must return to headquarters.
I just wanted to enjoy it a little longer.
Jimin had overstayed his welcome. In truth he was using a few of the extra days of the blessing to keep pretending. He could have left days ago at this point, but he didn’t want to leave you.
He was being selfish.
Jimin please, you know this isn’t right.
Just a little longer, I promise we’ll be back in headquarters soon.
Jimin turned his attention to you who was sitting on the floor, setting up a board game on your little coffee table. You were about to play a riveting game of monopoly, you already had the board out and you were busy organizing the cards and the different dollar bills.
“What piece did you want?” You got up and took a seat beside him on the couch. You opened your hands to reveal all of the original 8 pieces.
“I call the dog~” You smiled at him. Jimin looked around at all the pieces and ultimately decided to go with the thimble, a good representation of what he does exactly.
“That’s an interesting choice~” You said as he picked up the piece from your hand.
He smiled. “It felt right…” He examined the piece further as you put the other 6 pieces down.
“Hey look— since you picked the thimble we can…” You moved your dog so it sat underneath the thimble, making it look like a hat. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight, finding it a lot more amusing than you should.
Jimin wasn’t paying any attention, his eyes being trained to your smiling form. His eyes darted straight down to your lips. You eventually noticed he didn’t say anything and saw where his gaze was going.
It was a moment. A real moment, not one he conjured up but he saw your eyes drift downward as well. You both even started leaning in, only inches apart, before Jimin finally came to his senses and realized what he was about to do.
A quick blow was enough to knock you out. Jimin sat there in misery as you slowly came to again. Your eyes quizzically looked around the room, your gaze focused on the monopoly board.
You looked down in your hand to find the dog piece and in the other you found the thimble.
You sneezed.
Maybe that cold medicine was a bit too strong, had you deliriously trying to start a monopoly game before you passed out.
You sighed and got up to go shower.
Jimin still remained on his place on the couch, you looked right in his direction. Instead of the joyous few days he’s gotten to spend with you, you were back to square one. You looked right through him.
It hurt worse than what he remembered as you got up and paid him no mind.
You know this is for the better.
Jimin got up and flew to the building across from yours once more. He couldn’t be in a room with you right now. It just hurt too much.
All was supposed to be well, he fixed everything. He was right back in his post, you couldn’t see him, and you don’t even remember the last few days. It was like he was never there.
All that was left was to go back to headquarters and figure out what caused this freak accident in the first place.
Jimin…
He couldn’t do it.
A taste was too much, how was he going to go back to being just nothing to you?! Beforehand you were a dream, all it was in his imagination and he was fine with it. A respective distance that kept him despite how strong his feelings were, but now…
That smoke and mirrors were gone. That wasn’t his imagination, for a few days he was something to you, and for fucks sake, he was about to kiss you. Your lips were right there…
All of that happens and he’s just supposed to pretend it didn’t and go on with his life?! Excuse him for taking this a little hard…
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
The next few days were even worse. Jimin and you steadily got back into a routine. He would guard the post, fight monsters, and hang with you for a little bit. You just continued through like nothing happened, because to you, nothing did.
Jimin wishes he could wipe his own memory, it would make things so much easier.
What was he going to do? Getting through each day was getting harder and harder and he was coming close to going back to the normal plane and reintroducing himself.
Jimin stared at you. You were watering the little plants you kept on your tiny balcony. He flew so he was standing next to you.
“This is unfair.” He sighed for the untheenth time.
Jimin, stop.
Jimin let his eyes trail over your form. You were wearing an adorable sundress with a happy smile painting your features. You had no idea the suffering you were causing him.
“I wish there was a way… I just… I wish I could go back to before—“ It was a cry out into the void. You wouldn’t hear, no one would.
Stop torturing yourself. That’s a dream, let’s end this.
That was it!
He may not be able to meet you, but what’s the harm in meeting you in your dreams? It wouldn’t cause trouble and Jimin would be able to spend more time with you!
That’s it, this is it—
He couldn’t put too much more thought into it before suddenly he wasn’t looking at you watering your plants, but in a giant canister in the center of a dark room.
Jimin looked around confused for a second before 3 higher up P1 angels emerged from the darkness. They were tall amassing astounding heights. All they appeared in this form was a long golden robe with a glowing white ball where their heads should be and a giant, golden ring hovering above this ball. The born angels were a lot different than the human reincarnates.
‘Jimin.’ A voice said, yet no words were actually spoken.
‘I’m sure you know why you’re here.’ A different voice said.
Jimin just stared, terrified. There was so much they could be reprimanding for.
‘I thought you were different.’
‘You were one of the best’
‘What happened to him?’
“I… I’m sorry” Jimin fell to his knees.
Suddenly a light in the distance came on to reveal the rest of his team members standing over to the side. The look of worry on their faces made him feel even worse.
‘How dare you bless a human without proper authorization?!’ A booming voice reverberated in his head.
Jimin couldn’t even look up anymore.
‘ANSWER ME’
“I had to…” He quietly whispered.
‘You didn’t have to do anything’
‘Why did you do it?’
Jimin was terrified, more scared than he had ever been in his life, but he was also degranged. He wasn’t going to tell them about the last few days. What might they do if they found out? It would certainly save his ass in this situation, but Jimin was willing to suffer if that means he could go back to you after this.
“I had my reasons, I promise.”
‘Oh, and what possibly could have been the reason to give an unauthorized blessing to a human?’
“It was for the greater good.”
‘He’s not talking…’
‘Jimin, is this how you really want to be? We believe you, you’ve been one of the best reincarnates and you wouldn’t disobey the rules for something trivial. Why won’t you tell us what happened?’
“I believe that makes it justified. You know my character and I wouldn’t do it for the sake of just doing it. I had my reasons, please understand I can not go into the situation any further.”
‘Since when did he start talking back to us?’
Jimin normally was so obedient, this was odd. Even other human reincarnates would make fun of him sometimes for being so uptight.
‘Is that your final answer?’
“Yes.”
‘Very well then…” Suddenly the canister opened up into the room. A mysterious force pushed him forward so he was standing in the center of the room. It was within a blink of an eye that his shirt was removed and wrist were tied up with a long golden rope to a wooden board.
One of the P1 angels walked a little and shrank to a size closer to Jimin.
‘Jimin, in the name of an unauthorized blessing, you are sentenced to 1000 lashings. We expect you to count.’ The punishment was honestly tame. He knew they were only giving him this much leeway because of his previous track record. They believed him and that’s all that matters.
The P1 angel already had a whip on hand, one made of angelic light.
Jimin didn’t even watch as he heard the whip crack and eventually the stinging burn of purification. It hurt, hurt so badly, but he relished in it. Maybe he might get some sense back and do what’s right.
“1…”
Another hard crack right in the center of his back, making his body contort as the pain seemed to travel all throughout his body.
“2…..”
He needs to repent. How dare he lie to his higher ups just because he wants to be able to go back down and meet you again? He’s putting his entire team's reputation at risk.
And another one. This one the burning was even worse.
“3...”
It was sin. He’s actually losing his mind.
“4...”
CRACK
“5..”
Repent, drive whatever humanly urges you have for y/n out and purify. Feel and embrace the burn.
CRACK
“6..”
Embrace it and understand. Only then will you be able to move on.
CRACK
“7.”
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
Jimin walked over to his teammates. He couldn’t feel his back anymore, and even he could see the drops of blood as he slowly made his way toward them before he just collapsed right in front of them.
“Jimin?!” The whole group hurried over to catch him.
Taehyung, who was moved behind him, noticed how badly his back was severely burned.
“I don’t understand…” He said aloud at the sight.
No one could. This was so unlike him. First the rule breaking and then concealing information from the higher ups?
Jimin just laughed. The rest of the group couldn’t help but feel a little unsettled.
“Is—Is it that bad?” He asked, still chuckling.
Namjoon got down on his knees and grabbed him by the shoulders, not caring whatsoever the bandages on his hands were getting soaked with blood.
“This isn’t a fucking joke, what is wrong with you?!” Namjoon was angry. He could hardly believe this was the same guy that he’s been on the same team with. This wasn’t Jimin.
Everyone followed Joon’s lead and got on the floor, waiting for some type of explanation.
This seemed to entertain Jimin even more because he just started laughing even harder. It was maniacal, like he really did lose his mind or something, but even the laughing couldn’t hide the pain in his voice. The laughs turned to cries as he looked at his team’s concerned faces.
“It hurts so much, I don’t know what I’m doing…” His voice was quiet.
They haven’t left the dark room yet, that spotlight still being the only thing lighting up the area. The P1 angels were long gone, they left as soon as Jimin made it to 1000. It was just them now.
“Yoongi will help you as soon as you tell us what’s going on. Why did you bless her?” Namjoon said calmly. He was trying his best to remain cool, calm, and collected, but seeing Jimin like this was really testing his abilities as the leader.
“I had to… It was the only way to protect her.” He confessed.
“What do you mean, you were at your post, weren’t you?” Seokjin asked.
Jimin just shook his head, a weird smile on his face. “Something happened… I had to do it. It was the only way.”
Everyone looked around at each other confused, waiting for some sort of explanation, but that’s where he stopped.
“You’re not gonna tell us what happened?” Yoongi finally questioned.
“I like her and that’s the problem.” It wasn’t exactly the answer to the question but it was all at the same time. All of this was because of these stupid feelings. “I have these feelings that I can’t explain, but it’s something I know I should never be feeling for the human I look after.”
If everyone was confused, they had no clue what he was going on about.
“Wait so…” Jungkook started. “What do you mean you like her, like you…?”
“Yes. I don’t know why, I thought they said it shouldn’t be possible anymore. But I know what I feel for her is the same way a human would. It’s the reason for everything.”
The group was just struggling to conceptualize this. It really shouldn’t be possible whatsoever. It’s not like they were emotionless, but that connection just was not possible as an angel.
“I didn’t want to say anything to the higher ups, but you guys… I couldn’t just say nothing. I can’t tell you what happened either but just know it was because of that that I couldn’t tell them. I don’t understand what’s happening to me, but please just… let me go.” Jimin was begging and pleading that they wouldn’t ask too many more questions.
Everyone looked at each other. This was really something they should report, for Namjoon especially as the leader, he was in charge of logging odd occurrences like these. It was a crossroad, does he choose his role as the leader, or put their brotherhood first?
There really was no question to which one he would choose.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” Namjoon asked, pulling Jimin in for a hug. He could feel Jimin flinch slightly at the contact.
“No, but I’ve got this under control. Don’t worry about me.” He knew they were going to, but he just hoped it was enough to calm their nerves.
Namjoon looked at him and could tell he was being genuine. “Alright, as long as you don’t get into any more trouble and not let this situation get in the way of doing your job properly. If I hear about anything else, I’m logging it.” Jimin smiled at the leader's words.
He truly didn’t deserve them.
Yoongi quickly moved so he was sitting behind Jimin. “I can’t do much since this is meant to be a punishment and that’s against the rules. I can make the pain go away long enough to get you back to her. Please don’t do anything stupid.” He sighed as he hovered his hands over the wounds and a faint glow appeared, one that quickly made the burning and bleeding start to fade.
“I remember we all thought she was pretty but… feelings?” Hoseok was just thinking out loud.
“Was it a recent thing?” Jungkook asked, a bit too curious to know.
Jimin shook his head. “I’ve felt this way for a while, but a certain situation made things change to a degree I’m still trying to get used to.”
“How would that even work?” Taehyung asked. Jimin looked over and frowned. “I mean, she can’t even see you… I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a problem.”
“It is, isn’t it…” Jimin got up as soon as he felt Yoongi put his hands down. Everyone collectively panicked when they saw him nearly fall over.
“Anyway, I better get back.” He sighed and started trying to put some distance between him and the group.
“Uh, so soon? You didn’t want to leave with us?” Seokjin asked as he saw Jimin’s halo appear and he reached up and grabbed it.
“I would but I wasn’t planning to leave. Y/n’s already been left unattended long enough. I didn’t plan to leave…” That really wasn’t an excuse and they knew it.
Jimin threw the halo up. It took a few seconds for the small ring to expand and in the center opened up a portal.
“I’ll see you guys at the meeting soon, alright?” The boys were all giving him weird looks but waved nonetheless.
Jimin smiled at them before expanding his wings and flying through the ring.
He had to get out of there quickly. The words on his rib were burning too much to have him stay any longer.
‘LIAR’
He couldn’t stand the thought of lying to them. They were the last people in any universe he’d want to lie to, but it was a must. This was definitely the stupidest thing he’s done in all of his existence.
Jimin’s never been so disobedient, not even a beating like that from the P1 angels has swayed his feelings. Repenting wasn’t working like he hoped it would, if anything it’s made him even more sure he’s lost his mind.
Feelings were definitely weird…
Before he knew it, he was flying out to right outside your building. You were standing outside, the sun had changed only slightly. It had probably been 30 minutes at most, for him he had been gone from you for days.
Jimin flew and landed right beside like he had been all that time ago.
You were happily looking at the sun set, the lighting giving you a heavenly glow that outrivaled angels. You were beautiful, gorgeous, and no matter how much everything was telling him not to be, he was pulled in.
Captivating.
It made the crossroad obvious. Jimin could obey his leader, push these feelings away, and continue his job like normal. Jimin could also go the complete opposite way and attempt to meet you again, for a chance. It wouldn’t be the same as being with you in person, but it was enough.
If what happened didn’t prove he was crazy, the choice he made surely did.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
You went to bed pretty early today. You had no reason, you called off of work for tomorrow, taking one more day to recover, you were just eager to get in the bed and sometime in the middle of your tv binge you fell asleep.
You opened your eyes once again to find you weren’t in your room, but a beautiful endless field of flowers. The sky was so blue and little puffs of clouds rolled over the land. You looked down too and noticed the white, flowy sundress, but you weren’t wearing any shoes.
You smiled at the sight.
So you were having this kind of dream~
You followed your first instinct and ran through the flowers, a sense of freedom that you know would never be possible in real life. You enjoyed every second of it. A child like feeling that felt almost nostalgic. Wonder, amazement, oh fuck how nice was this dream?
Everything was so vivid too~
It was then that you in fact realized that you knew the fact you were dreaming.
‘Hey, had Somi’s lucid dreaming guide actually worked?’ It was something she sent you and you read it before falling asleep.
You looked down at your hands and feet.
Ok so you were aware… could you—
You jumped and suddenly you were off the ground high enough to touch the clouds. You screamed before plummeting back down to the ground.
You got up, thankful that this was in fact a dream. Maybe flying wasn’t a good idea, especially with your fear of heights, apparently that didn’t even go away in your dream.
After brushing yourself you went back to running. Making it over a hill, you came to a clearing. It was incredibly flat compared to the rest of the field, and right there in the far distance was a tree.
Curiosity got the better of you and you ran toward it. Upon getting closer you noticed that there was someone underneath it.
Ok, welp, there goes your dream oasis.
You made it even closer and you felt your heart nearly stop. It was a beautiful man, oh my gosh.
So it was gonna be this type of dream.
You always knew your imagination was amazing, but holy hell were you so grateful to your amazing brain.
“Hi!” The mysterious beautiful stranger called out to you as you approached. You couldn’t help but get entranced by his smile, so kind…
“Hi!” You made it right next to him and he was even better up close. A glow to his skin unlike anything you had ever seen, he had dark brown hair that curled at the base of his neck, eyes that seemed to smile along with him, and those lips… All these features seemed to get enunciated by the outfit he was wearing. A dark olive green cardigan with only two of the buttons done up, covered a white button up that was also undone enough to slightly reveal those sexy collarbones. The outfit was completed by khaki colored slacks, rolled up at the ankles, and dark brown loafers you were sure you recognized from some expensive brand.
Oh your mind was something…
This is definitely the greatest dream you’ve ever had.
“I’m Jimin, it’s nice to see you made it~” He smiled at you.
He was waiting for you…
“It’s nice to see I made it to you, I was just kinda wandering. I would have come sooner if I knew you were waiting for me.” Real life y/n was the opposite of a flirt, but this is your dream and there were zero consequences here. Best believe you’re taking advantage of that.
You saw the cute way he seemed to get embarrassed by the comment.
“No worries, take a seat. I hope you don’t mind a picnic?~” He asked and showed you the red and white checkered blanket with the wicker basket sitting on top.
Cute, sexy, lovely guy was taking you on a date. Can this dream get any better?
You happily sat down and he took a seat next to you before turning away to dig through the basket.
“I brought some of your favorites and some of mine as well~” He cheesed and you smiled.
You looked around at the beautiful view. The clear blue sky contrasted perfectly with the green grass and the colorful flowers seemed to be the last detail to make this place perfect. You were in heaven.
“Would you like to start off with fried chicken or I have this dish that I really like, acquacotta con funghi? You probably never heard of it, but I think you may like it!”
Your attention turned back to him.
“Ooo we can try your dish, it sounds go—“ Your eyes trained to his back. A dark spot had started to form on the back of his cardigan. You couldn’t help yourself and reached out to touch it, you were shocked to find a reddish tint to your finger.
This was blood.
“Jimin… what’s this?” You asked and showed him your finger. He turned toward you and you couldn’t help but notice the panicked look in your face at your discovery.
“Don't worry about it. Now, did you say the acquacotta con funghi?” He tried to brush it off but you weren’t having it.
“Jimin, I’m worried.” You admitted out loud.
He sat back down next to you and smiled that same sweet smile he had when you came over.
“I’m your angel, there’s no need to worry~”

W.C.: 3k

Jin:
Tumblr media
“I’m nervous,” Jin admitted as you were driving down the freeway to your house.
You laughed, “why?”
“Because I am meeting the love of my life’s family for the first time since we started dating two years ago, AND,” he emphasized on the ‘and,’ making a dramatic pause for effects, “the pictures of your dad you had showed me makes me scared of him.”
It was quiet for a moment before you busted out laughing, “you’re scared of my dad? You have never met him!” You continued to laugh, ignoring Jin’s glares.
“Yes, yes I am.” He sounded offended, “he looks very intimidating and I am intimidated easily.”
“Jin, trust me, my family, especially my dad, will love you.” You smiled at him reassuringly.
---
Two hours later, you watched in happiness as your boyfriend and your father were getting along with one another. You knew that Jin was extremely nervous to meet your family, especially your father, but you knew the whole time that they would love him. It made your heart swell with happiness knowing that your future (hopefully) husband would get along with your family. You smiled brightly at Jin as he walked over towards you with a satisfied grin on his handsome face.
“See, I told you that you had nothing to worry about,” you teased, leaning up to peck him on the cheek.
“I know, I just wanted to make a good first impression.” He said with a sigh, a happy look on his face, “plus, I was nervous to ask your father something.” Butterflies filled your stomach at the admission, having an idea on what he was about to say. As Jin got down on one knee, a hopeful look on his face as he pulled out the tiny black box from his hoodie pocket. “Y/N, will you make me the happiest man on this planet by marrying me?”
You could hear your mom start sobbing, causing you to turn around with a ‘really’ look. “I’m sorry,” she a apologized, using your dads shirt to wipe away her tears, “I’ll shut up now.”
“Thank you,” you blandly said, making your mother laugh. Turning back around to a hopeful Jin, tears began making their way to your eyes, “Yes, yes I will.” And at your answer, Jin shot up and brought you into a huge hug, avoiding kissing you in front of your dad.
“I love you, Mrs. Worldwide Beautiful.” He promised, kissing your temple.
“I love you, too, Mr. Worldwide Handsome.”
Yoongi:
Tumblr media
Coming from a conservative, back-woods hill billy family, the Fourth of July has always been a huge holiday that your family celebrated. Even though were from a family of conservatives, you developed your own views and opinions on things that did not match your family’s views. Of course, the created controversy for a little bit, especially with your father, your family (thankfully) accepted your own way of thinking and thoughts on things.
So, that is why you are nervous to introduce your boyfriend, Min Yoongi, someone who will say how he feels and is not afraid to make his opinion clear on certain topics, to your family – especially to your dad. But the thing is, the meeting between your boyfriend and dad went smoothly; better than you thought. The person that you should have been worried about was your little cousin, Lucas.
When you got to your house and greeted everyone, you were tackled into a hug by your baby cousin Lucas. As he was explaining his new toy that he bought and how he got a Patrick Mahomes shirt as a birthday present from his parents, he turned silent when he saw a man take his position by your side.
“Y/N, who is this?” He asked in a protective tone, standing straighter with shoulders back.
A grin made its way onto your face. Even as an 11 year-old boy, he still is very protective of you. “Lucas, this is my boyfriend, Min Yoongi.” You glanced over at your boyfriend, biting back a smile at his reaction to your cousin.
“Hi, Lucas. Y/N has always talked about you in South Korea, always excited to tell me about you.” Your boyfriend explained, telling the truth about how you always talked about your baby cousin.
“Hmm,” Lucas replied, trying to not show how happy he was to hear that you missed him as much as he missed his role model, you. “Well, be nice to Y/N, because if you don’t I will find you, and I will make sure that you wake up to…” he trailed off with a teasing smile, joking about what he was saying, besides the being nice part to you.
Yoongi did not look scared at that, actually, he looked in awe at how much Lucas cares about you, and in fact, a smidge jealous. But he could not deny the love that both you and your cousin shared for one another. He knew that you always looked out for Lucas, how you helped raised him too. He also knew how much it tore you apart when you had to move to South Korea for school, but the bond that both you and Lucas have is unbreakable. And Yoongi admires that because of the age difference.
So, Yoongi wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his side, “I promise that I will not hurt Y/N.” Yoongi promised from the bottom of his heart.
Lucas smiled up at him, fixing his hat to make better eye contact with the black haired man, “Good. Want to play catch with me and my cousin Braxton? I have an extra glove!”
Hoseok:

To say that you were not even afraid to have your family meet your boyfriend, Jung Hoseok, was true. Why? Because how could you not be when Jung Hoseok was a ray of sunshine and nobody could ever hate him. On the way to your family’s house, your boyfriend could not sit still from excitement.
He was even more excited to see your family than you were and that is your family that you are talking about. You even felt a little sad to say that, but it is true. But, you could not deny how happy you are to see that your boyfriend – the first boy to ever meet your family – is excited to meet the ones that mean most to you.
So, seeing your boyfriend holding a cold beer in his hand, looking at home and comfortable as he talked with your dad and uncles, standing by the grill as your dad flipped the hamburgers, created a weird feeling in your stomach. Something that made you think that maybe, Hoseok might be your forever. You have never felt this way before, even with your older boyfriends. Hoseok is the first person to meet your family and that says a lot yourself.
“Whatcha thinking?” Your aunt Linda asked you as she took a seat beside you out of nowhere. “you’re thinking if he’s the one, aren’t you?” She asked again, pushing you to answer.
“Yeah, yeah I am.” You answered, a small smile on your face.
“Out of all of the boys you have dated, which have been three, you have never been this in love before. I know it because you never talked with so much passion about them that you have with Hoseok. I have never seen you so happy before, sweetie. I also can see how much he loves you too, by the way he looks at you.” She said, a happy smile on her face.
“How does he look at me?” You asked curiously.
“As if you are the one who made the world. He worships the ground that you walk on as you lead him to the family to introduce him. You both are so in sync with one another, and you both have been here for about two hours. He is the one, sweetie. I know it.”
And as she said those four words, Hoseok turned to look at you, as if he heard those words and smiled at you.
Namjoon:
Tumblr media
You huffed in irritation while you watched your cousin Ashley try and flirt with your boyfriend. Okay, you could not blame her because your boyfriend is indeed very attractive. With that, his personality and knowledge makes him even more attractive, so it is hard not to fall or be attracted to Kim Namjoon. What is making you irritated is that she does not care that she is flirting with your boyfriend. She knows that Namjoon is your boyfriend and is still flirting with him very obviously. Your whole life, she has always stolen your chance with someone and always made it her mission to take what is yours. You always have fought back, always stood up to her, but nothing ever works. All of your boyfriends, which have been three, Namjoon being your fourth, she always somehow took them from you. Of course, it was also the guys decision to leave you, but you never understood why she has done that to you. So, when you found Namjoon, you knew that he was the one. That is why you were terrified to introduce him to your family because you knew that Ashley was going to do this.
You could see that Namjoon was slightly uncomfortable by Ashley’s intentions, so seeing him politely deny her, giving her a kind (and uncomfortable) smile before leaving, you could not help but smirk in victory. The look on Ashley’s face at the rejection and the pissed off reaction filled your ego. When Namjoon got to you, you leaned up and kissed him on the lips, showing what is yours, you heard the scoff from Ashley, causing you to smile into the kiss.
“What was the for?” Namjoon chuckled when he pulled away, caressing your check and fixing the Santa hat on your head.
“Just wanted to make a point, plus wanted to show how much I love you.” You shrugged, leaning into his side to watch your mom and aunt take shots of eggnog together.
Catching on, Namjoon leant down to kiss your temple and pull you in closer to his side, “Just know that I love you and no one can change that.”
Jimin:
Tumblr media
Why is your boyfriend so perfect?
This has been the questioned that you have been asking yourself all day. Even though you just introduced your boyfriend to your family, today, he has been taken from you by your mom and aunt. Jimin does not seem bothered by this because he wanted to be perfect for your family, something that you always smacked him on the head for because he is, indeed perfect, but you had to remind him to be his self, and not someone that he is not. You did not mind that Jimin was hanging out with your family, you just wanted his affection too.
The reason why you and Jimin work so well with each other is because you both love affection, and being away from one another can be a huge struggle. And you just want Jimin and his hugs.
“Babe!” Jimin called from you from the dining room table, “Come play scrabble with us!” He motioned towards your mom, aunt, and cousins.
Walking over there, you went to pull a chair up next to Jimin since you both were a team, but before you could do so, you were tugged on to your boyfriends lap. Blushing, you ignored the raised eyebrow from your mom.
“Oh!” Jimin gasped in embarrassment, “I’m so sorry. It is just a habit to have Y/N sitting on my lap when we play board games with our friends back in Korea.” He apologized, a huge blush by his actions.
“It’s okay, dear!” Your mother reassured, smirking at how embarrassed you two were, “my husband always liked me sitting on his lap.”
For the rest of the night, both you and Jimin could not look at your mother in the eye.
Taehyung:
Tumblr media
You are ridiculous,
You are jealous of a child. You are jealous of your baby cousin Mya because she is getting all of the attention from your boyfriend. Okay, it is a good thing that your family likes Taehyung, well, loves, and that he seems to be very comfortable around your family, something is very important. But Taehyung has not spoken to you for four hours because Mya has had him playing with her. It is no secrete that Taehyung loves children, but come on! You are needy and love being Taehyung’s center of attention.
You have to admit, you see Taehyung all of the time and have his attention, but who could blame you? Being Taehyung’s center of attention is amazing. You are truly spoiled.
“Why the long face, cousin?” Zach, your oldest cousin on your dad’s side asked, scaring you from his unexpected presence. Noticing where your gaze was on, he chuckled. “You and Amanda are so alike, I swear,” he chuckled, shaking his head as he took a sip from his beer.
“What do you mean?” You replied curiously, looking up at him.
“You both love attention, and whenever you don’t have it, you both turn pouty,” He ruffled your hair in a teasing manner. “But don’t worry, Taehyung, is that how you pronounce it? Yes, cool. Anyways, he always glances to see where you are and makes sure that you aren’t far away. He hasn’t totally forgotten about you.”
“He does?” Insecurity evident in your voice, something Zach knew would be in your tone. He knows about the past assholes, so seeing you with someone who truly does love you makes you happy.
“Of course, Y/N, I wouldn’t say that if it wasn’t true. I know when a guy loves someone, and Taehyung loves you. It is hard to miss from how passionate he talked about you to your father in front of my dad and I, and your uncle John. Taehyung loves you.”
A huge smile made its way onto your face at his words, your heart pounding and butterflies in your stomach. “I love him,” you confessed to Zach.
“Oh, I know. Your Instagram is filled with pictures of you two, more than Amanda’s. Wait, Amanda only has two pictures of us while I have ten! I’ll be back in a little. AMANDA!” Zach yelled for his fiancé.
Jungkook:
Tumblr media
Jungkook thought that your dad was the only main concerned that he had to worry about but turns out that he was wrong. The person that he had to worry about was your aunt Sandy. Finding himself sitting in a lawn chair, underneath a tree for shade from the July sun, he was facing more questions than he has in one interview.
“So, tell me about yourself,” your Aunt Sandy asked, “What’s your favorite hobby? Have you gone to school? What’s it like to be a famous person? What is your intention with my niece?”
The desperate look that Jungkook threw you had you cackling. Being questioned by your Aunt Sandy can be scary sometimes, and Jungkook is now facing that.
“I don’t know much about South Korea, but do you guys celebrate something close to the Fourth of July? Have you ever lit a firework before?”
“I love photography, so that is how Y/N and I met. Yes, I have gone to school and still in school. It is very pressuring and is nothing like people think it is, Korea is very pressuring and strict for idols. Y/N and I will be coming up to our one-year anniversary and I plan on having more with her. And we have a lot of public holiday’s and ceremonies. We do have Memorial Day where we celebrate on June 6th for the men and women who died while in military service or in the independence movement, there is a ceremony held for this at the Seoul National Cemetery.”
After Jungkook’s answers, your Aunt Sandy was hooked and wanted to learn more about South Korea and their holiday’s, and their culture. Some of your family followed, also intrigued to know more about Korea, and wanting to learn more. Jungkook loved this, very excited to talk about his home and even about his Hyung’s. You could see the happiness and excitement on his face, even in his voice.
When it turned darker, your little cousins and your uncles went to get the fireworks ready. Jungkook grabbed his chair and a loose blanket for you two, he took them to where everyone was situating their selves to get ready to see the finale of fireworks. Placing his chair to the side, wanting to get a little space from your family, along with wanting to have you to himself, he pulled you onto his lap, helping you get comfortable.
“Your Aunt Sandy made me nervous, but I like her though,” he admitted, face perched up on your shoulder.
“Yeah, she has a specialty in that.” You chuckled, “You seem very comfortable with the family, which makes me happy.”
“I love your family, plus, I know that I want to have a future with you, so of course I am going to make it my mission to get along with your family.”
“You want a future?” You asked shocked, surprising Jungkook.
“Of course, jagi. You may be my first girlfriend and we have only been together for almost one year, but I know that I want you in my life, for as long as possible. I hope you feel the same.”
Not knowing what to say, you sat up, turned around to face your boyfriend, grabbed his face and smashed your lips onto his. Jungkook was shocked at first, but soon kissed you back, pouring his emotions into the kiss. He took this as a yes, and he never felt so happy in his life. The both of you knew that this was as close to an ‘I love you,’ only wanting to wait for that for when the time is right.
The both of you missed the sound of your mom’s camera snapping and awe’s filling the air. What mattered was only you and Jungkook, and they gave you privacy after that, not saying anything to you both, wanting yo

You were adjusting the sounding system in the pit when you felt a sudden weight on your back. You startled and turned around and found yourself pressed against Jae, who coddled you like a baby. He smelled like cologne and alcohol and something mechanical, vaguely oily and coppery.
“(Y/N),” he groaned, drawing your name out into one long sigh. If you weren’t so caught off-guard, you would have laughed. “We’re leaving early today!”
He was leaving early today. It was the last concert before the unimaginable—a month-long break. Set-up crew got to leave a whole half-day early, leaving mid-crew to pick up a little of their slack. But you knew they deserved it, especially since they’d been short-handed after you left.
It was hard to imagine that it had been a whole month since you’d switched to mid-crew, and even longer since you’d met Bangtan. Sometimes, it didn’t feel real. You missed your old set-up crewmen, but it was hard to miss them too much when there were seven other people around to eagerly keep you company.
Jae’s bag was already slung over his shoulder, and you knew he was about to leave. Your break didn’t technically start until after the concert tonight, and true to mid-crew form, you’d be staying with Bangtan wherever they went. The thought filled you with unimaginable excitement—for a month, you’d get to be with them without having to worry about work or scheduling.
“Remember to teeeeeeeext,” Jae slurred, clutching you to his chest. You patted his shoulder awkwardly, face smushed into his clavicle. “You never teeeeeeext anymore.”
“I text you every day,” you complained, your voice muffled by his flannel.
“But it’s not enoooooough,” he moaned. He was probably already a little intoxicated—a few people in set-up crew had already broken out a bottle of vodka in celebration, and no doubt Jae had already indulged.
You asked, incredulous, “How much more do you want?”
“I don’t care. I miss you,” he admitted, and you cooed at his cuteness.
“I miss you, too,” you laughed, pulling away from him. “But you need to get on the bus before they leave without you.”
“They would never,” Jae scoffed, but you raised an eyebrow. Sungjin would. Oh, Sungjin so would. And you could tell in his gaze that he realized that, too. “Okay, okay. I’m leaving. But I love you! I’ll text! Don’t think just because you’re famous now that you can get rid of me!”
He said this all while walking backward, voice raising with every sentence. Some of your other mid-crewmen stared at you curiously, and you waved Jae away in embarrassment. Your good rapport as a hard-worker had carried to your new job, but you still didn’t know the rest of mid-crew well enough to be weird in front of them.
You weren’t famous by any definition of the term, but you’d garnered a certain amount of attention in the past month. It was impossible not to, considering at least one member of Bangtan was around you every day. It was easy to pass off some of it as work, but the rest of the crew had to at least suspect that your professional relationship with them went deeper. No one had said anything about it, at least not to your face, and you were grateful that at least a portion of the people you worked with knew how to mind their own business.
Working for another hour, you were finally setting up the last of the lighting equipment. You were usually the quickest crewmember to finish your work, simply because set-up crew had conditioned you so well. When you finished early, you either helped set up the rest of the venue or went to seek out Bangtan to see if they had any time to hang. Because their schedule was so packed, they usually didn’t, but it was still nice just to see them. Their faces would light up whenever they caught sight of you, even to this day.
You reached up to adjust the light, and a warm pair of arms wrapped around your waist. Electricity buzzed through your body immediately. “Hey, baby.”
“Oh, my God,” you exclaimed. “Why is everyone sneaking up on me today?”
“Not happy to see me?”
You turned your head and saw Jimin smiling, bottom lip tugged between his teeth. He fake-pouted, and you had to suppress the sudden desire to wrap him in a hug and never let him go.
“I’m always happy to see you,” you replied, before you could stop yourself. Your face flushed, but so did his, which was your favorite thing about him—at least you could make him blush, too.
Jimin pressed his cheek against the back of your neck hard, and then released you. You kept tinkering, despite the sudden distraction.
“I’m glad you’re here,” you said. “The sound system on the left side burnt out this morning. We were able to replace it, but the sound check before the concert is probably gonna start early.”
Jimin grunted in acknowledgement, and you continued talking, back still facing him.
“And you need to be careful. There’s a slick spot by the—,”
“Mhmm,” Jimin hummed. His voice was closer than you expected and you turned around, freezing when you realized he was right behind you. Jimin’s mouth curled into a small smile, and he reached out to tuck a hunk of escaped hair behind your ear. “You look good in that sweater.”
“Thank you,” you replied automatically, but your heart stuttered.
Out of all Bangtan, Jimin was the touchiest. He was the one who complimented you the most, voice edging on flirting. Whenever he smiled his teasing smile, your face would heat up hot enough to fry an egg on your forehead.
“Can we stop by your hotel room after the concert?”
He could have asked you to commit second-degree murder and you probably would have agreed to it, if he kept looking at you like that. “Yeah, s-sure. I mean, yes. If it’s okay with BangPD and everyone.”
“We already approved it,” he grinned, unconsciously leaning closer. You could feel the heat radiating off his body. To the outside world the two of you may have looked like a couple, but in the past month, you’d slowly learned how to let go of the world’s opinion. You didn’t care what they assumed about your relationship unless it negatively affected Bangtan’s career.
“Oh?” you asked, smiling your own teasing smile. “Were you that confident I’d agree?”
Jimin’s face flushed, and that was normal for him, too—always so flirty, until the teasing was turned on him. Then he became a shy mess. “Well, I mean—not that we knew you’d agree, but you usually—and then we, um—,”
You couldn’t help but smile at his cute stuttering, but then your smile faded, stamped down by the sudden guilt and confusion bubbling in your chest.
When you’d first started hanging out with Bangtan, dazzled and starstruck, you’d thought whatever silly crush you had on them would fade. After getting to know them, you’d thought you’d come to love them only platonically.
But your crush—or should you say, crushes—spiraled completely out of control. Bangtan had thoroughly swept you off your feet.
How could you have fallen for seven different men? Being alone with each of them, or several at a time, filled you with such a strong happiness that was only rivaled by how you felt when the eight of you were together. Then, the world felt clicked into place, like a weight you didn’t even realize you were carrying was lifted off your shoulders.
“I need to get back to work,” you told him, taking a step back. Distance. You needed to create some distance, no matter how much it hurt. “We can talk about it later, okay?”
“Okay,” Jimin replied, pouting. You resisted the urge to pull him to your chest and coo.
You moved to turn around, but before you could, Jimin dipped closer for a split second and pressed his lips against your cheek. Face flaming, you turned to him with mouth agape, but Jimin was already backing away toward the door, lips curled in a teasing smile.
After he left, you absent-mindedly rubbed your cheek, still feeling the tingling imprint of his mouth on your skin.
Ten minutes later, your phone buzzed in your pocket, signaling a text. It vibrated again. And then a third time. It must be the group chat you were in with Bangtan, which could get ridiculously active. You glanced around for your manager and snuck your phone out of your pocket, just when it started vibrating multiple times in a row.
Namjoon, 1:35pm: So, party in (Y/N)’s room tonight?
Hoseok, 1:36pm: SWEET i’ll give the staff money to go buy snacks
Jimin, 1:38: remember to ask for TWO boxes of popcorn because :/ someone :/ ate it all :/ last time

Jungkook, 1:39: LITERALLY JIN-HYUNG

Jimin, 1:40: WHAT?
You chuckled and glanced around quickly, typing a quick message.
You, 1:42: I’ll message you guys when I’m done with cleaning the stage and then you can come over. I’m putting the group chat on silent tho bc I’m still at work.
Already, your message prompted several quick replies.
Hoseok, 1:42: (Y/N)! <3
Jin, 1:43: We will not be silenced!!!!!!!!
Jimin, 1:43: HYUNG U SAID JUNGKOOK ATE THE POPCORN U LIAR
Taehyung, 1:44: lmao OOPS

*Namjoon has added Jin to the chat*
Namjoon, 1:46: Quit removing people from the chat just because they piss you off
*Jimin has removed Namjoon from the chat*
Yoongi, 1:47: as expected
“(Y/N)!” your manager called, almost making you drop your phone. You looked up guiltily and were lucky to discover she wasn’t even looking at you—she was too busy trying to keep a stage light standing. “Could you come over here and help me fix this?”
Sighing in relief, you pocketed your phone and went to help your manager. You liked your manager a lot, but she still made you nervous. You made sure to stay on your best behavior when she was around.
You held the top of the light while she screwed it into place, and when she was finished, she beamed up at you. “Thank you! And I’m glad you’re here.” Her bright look turned apologetic, so you knew you were in for some serious shit. “I have a favor to ask.”
“What is it?” you asked, cautious.
“Ji-sung is out sick tonight,” she admitted. “We need another crewmember in the camera pit. I know you don’t like going near the crowd, but you have the most experience with the stage material and I’d think you’d be a huge help to them.”
The breath left your chest. “I don’t know, I really—,”
“I know it’s last minute,” she interrupted, “and I know it’s a little inconvenient, but you’re our best replacement. It would only be for tonight.”
Your teeth clinked together, nervous. You were not a crowd person, and the camera pit was right in front of it. They were the pit that was most at risk of being tramped or attacked.
But you really wanted to leave a good impression with your new manager.
“Yeah,” you said, slowly. “That’s fine, (Y/M/N). I’d be happy to help.”
“Oh, thank you!” she gushed. “I’ll tell the camera crew. Think of it as a blessing! It’s basically a front-row ticket.”
A front row ticket in front of a writhing mass of fanaticism. Really, you didn’t mind people. People were smart—until you put them in a crowd. Then they were a hazard.
“Call time is 6:15!” And with that she flounced away, far too happy to be at work. Your manager truthfully was a different creature.
You let out a deep breath and shook your head. “Goddamn it.”
You distracted yourself with idle work leading up to the concert. It felt like everything and nothing needed to be done. You already knew Bangtan was busy with sound check and weren’t available, but that didn’t stop your from peeking your head in every once in a while to listen to them.
All you had to do was make it through the concert, and then the eight of you could finally relax.
You weren’t present for sound check, like you usually were. Instead you were busy introducing yourself to the camera crew and modifying their equipment. By the time the venue finally allowed people to start filing in, you were called away to help with lighting while the camera crew set up in front of the stage, so you didn’t get a chance to even wave at Bangtan until just an hour before the concert.
Walking into the waiting area, Namjoon’s head shot up immediately, and his gaze found your own. You smiled, and then the rest of Bangtan was turning their head. Hoseok waved manically.
You dodged a few frantic crewmen still trying to finish setting up before the concert began. Taehyung was the first to hug you, nuzzling into the side of your neck. Jin rubbed his hand along your shoulder and you smiled at them gratefully.
“We missed you during sound check,” Yoongi said, slightly pouting in a way that he would deny to be pouting, except it definitely was.
You sighed. “I’m not doing sound check tonight.”
“You look upset,” Hoseok noticed, and once he’d said it, the entirety of Bangtan circled you in concern. It was overwhelming in a good way, a flattering way, and you liked it because you weren’t used to people trying to take care of you. Jin cupped your cheek in one hand, analyzing your face.
“I’m fine,” you assured them. “I’m just nervous. I’m replacing Ji-sung in the camera pit tonight and I’ll have to be in the crowd.”
Namjoon nodded his head in understanding. “It can be overwhelming.”
“You’re telling me,” you muttered. “I’m afraid I’m gonna get dragged backward and trampled, never to be seen again.”
Jeongguk laughed. “That won’t happen, don’t be nervous.”
“We’ll keep an eye out for you,” Jimin said, and you realized he was smirking. “You’ll be in the front row. It’s the best seat in the house.”
“We’ll perform well for you,” Taehyung added.
“When do you not?” you asked, and then backtracked. “Perform well, I mean—not like, perform well for me—uh—,”
Jin laughed at your flustered expression. “Just keep your eyes on us the entire time and you’ll survive.”
You were certain that doing just that would be what killed you.
The eight of you chatted for a bit more until it was time for you to leave. Hoseok must have noticed how nervous you looked, because he leaned close to you for a second and planted a second kiss on your cheek. You didn’t see it, but Bangtan eyed him jealously.
“It’ll be fine,” he chirped, and you smiled.
“I’ll see you after the concert,” you told them, and then made your way to the stage.
The venue was an arena, and it was huge. The camera pit was set up in a small section in front of the middle of the stage, to avoid blocking a majority of the crowd view. It was protected by thin guard railing and a hanging sign that would do nothing to deter someone who was really interested in bypassing it. The second you stepped by the crowd your hair stood on end, but you put on a brave face and approached the pit, speaking with the camera crew. There really wasn’t much for you to do except help them with emergencies and fill in where you could.
You couldn’t help but glance back at the crowd. They were getting antsy, and so were you. It was like their infectious energy was seeping into you. You barely resisted the urge to scream when the concert began, and the entire crowd went wild.
The energy Bangtan brought to the stage was insane. It was like the entire arena was cradled in the palm of their hand. It didn’t matter who you were—if you were a fan, an employee, a stranger on the street—in that moment, they owned you. There wasn’t a choice about it.
It was amazing because at that moment you weren’t their coworker, or a BigHit employee—you were just a fan at a concert, who’d somehow gotten a really, really good seat. Seeing them perform so closely to you made your heart stop.
And throughout the entire concert, Bangtan kept staring at you.
You knew, logically, that they weren’t staring at you—they were staring at the camera. But you couldn’t help but feel like they were staring at you, trying to catch your eyes with their dancing and obscene hip thrusting. You were barely able to resist the urge to cover your face whenever it happened, giving in a few times when you were just too flustered to look. The camera crew, who were used to such a display, laughed at your embarrassment.
Sometimes they would point in your direction, stick their tongue out—Jimin, boldest of the seven on stage, laid on his back and thrusted into the air not one foot away from the lip of the stage, directly in front of you.
Heat was coiled so deeply in your stomach, you were afraid you’d explode.
Near the end of the concert, you got a message from your manager over your headset—since you’d done her such a big favor, she was letting you leave after the concert was finished instead of staying to help clean afterward. You were intensely grateful, because you were sweating and flustered and really didn’t know how much more you could take. You bid the camera crew goodbye and made your way backstage once Bangtan exited, the screaming of the crowd echoing as you walked further and further way.
Once in the back, you looked for them excitedly. It wasn’t often you got to see them directly after a concert. You were still hot and bothered, but you tried to push it to the back of your mind as your gaze snagged on them, all seven by the very edge of the stage.
“Hey!” you called, and the second Namjoon caught sight of you, his face split into a dimpled grin that almost made your heart stop.
He strode toward you, and you didn’t realize what he was doing until he swept you up in a hug and spun you around, giggling. Bangtan was right behind him, and suddenly you were in the middle of the sweatiest group hug you’d ever had in your life.
“How was it?” you heard Jimin ask, although you couldn’t see him through all the people in the way.
“It was amazing,” you replied. “Really, you all did fantastically.”
“It’s because we knew you were watching,” Hoseok declared. “You’re our good luck charm.”
You laughed and pulled your bottom lip through your teeth, looking away. A small smile curled your lip, and Jeongguk took you by the chin and planted a quick kiss to your cheek.
“So cute,” you thought you heard him breath, but you couldn’t be sure over the noise still echoing throughout the arena.
“Are you doing an encore?” you asked, and Jin nodded.
“Yeah, we’re gonna rest for a moment and go back out.”
“I got off a little early, so I’m gonna head back to my room and shower, okay? Come over whenever you want. I think Namjoon already has an extra copy of my room key.”
“We’ll come over the second we’re done,” Taehyung said, and then he was hugging you too, your face buried in his neck. “Thank you for watching us.”
“I always watch you,” you admitted. “I’m just never in the front row.”
Jimin’s grin was sharp and sly. “We know.”
You shooed them off, watching them glance back at you as they prepared to go back on stage. You waved them goodbye until they were gone, and then even peeked through the curtain to watch them from the sideline for a moment. I was just like all that time ago, when you’d caught a sneak peek of them before running into Jeongguk, except now you had permission to be here. Now you knew them. And now you knew just how much they meant to you.
Your hotel room was on the second floor next to the venue. You were still one of the only women in mid-crew, and had secured yet another room to yourself. It had two beds, and you threw your bag down on the closest one before showering and changing into something more comfortable. You put on a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt and sat down to start browsing Netflix, looking for a new movie to watch. You thought, vaguely, about taking a moment to take care of the heat still simmering on low in your stomach, but knew you’d never be able to look them in the eye if you did something like that right before they came over.
After just over an hour, you heard the door unlock, and you perked up just in time to watch it swing open and reveal the seven people behind it.
“We’re here!” Hoseok hollered, and you laughed.
“And we brought towels,” Jimin informed. You noticed that they were still wearing their makeup, and were still in their stage clothes. They must have really come straight from the concert to your hotel room. Namjoon was the last of the seven to file in, and he held up a huge bag of food for you to see.
“We also ordered takeout,” he said, sheepishly. He knew how much you hated it when they spent money on your food.
You took the bag and shot him a mock-glare. “Go take a shower. You all stink.”
You were glad they’d brought extra towels, because the seven of them rotated through your shower like madmen before getting dressed and climbing into bed. You were sure they were used to such a routine, which explained how they did it so efficiently. You all chatted and ate while everyone showered, celebrating and laughing. It only took thirty minutes for everyone to get settled.
Jeongguk wanted desperately to watch a horror movie, and you relented and allowed it, all of you climbing into one bed. You ended up pressed against Jin, and his hair was still damp from the shower, and he smelled clean and fresh and manly. You had to bite your lip to resist leaning forward and burying your face in his neck.
An hour later, Jimin whispered, horrified, “Oh, no.”
“She’s so dumb,” Taehyung muttered. “She deserves to die.”
Hoseok curled further into himself, and you felt him rocking back and forth on the bed while you clutched your own pillow to your chest. The room was pitch black, except for the glow of the television screen.
The main character took another hesitant step forward, toward the murderer hiding within the house, and toward certain death. The scene was quiet, ominous music played in the background—you all knew a jump scare was coming soon.
“This isn’t even realistic,” Yoongi said. “The fake blood is too thick—,”
Namjoon interrupted, hissing, “Quit talking during the movie.” Not a second later, the murderer jumped out on the screen, making Namjoon yelp. You jumped, and Jin let out a shrill shriek.
The screaming on the screen was drowned out by everyone’s sudden gasp and Jeongguk’s maniacal giggling.
“Hyung—,” he tried to say, pressing his fist against his mouth. “Hyung—what noise what that?”
Jin’s face was red. “That wasn’t me.”
“Then who was it?” Jimin cackled.
“It was (Y/N).”
“Don’t pin that on me,” you immediately countered. “My voice doesn’t even go that high.”
Jeongguk dissolved into giggling again, while Jin’s face heated further.
“I can’t hear,” Yoongi snapped, still paying attention to the movie.
You didn’t know what time it was, and you didn’t care. For once, you didn’t have to worry about going anywhere.
Once the scary movie was finally over, you all decided to watch something lighter to calm down. Jimin picked out a rom-com that had most of you groaning, but no one protested enough to change his mind. It was fun to laugh, but whenever a romantic scene came on, you couldn’t help but eye them nervously. You were afraid that your ridiculous affection would suddenly be tattooed on your forehead.
In the particular movie you were watching, two people fell in love at first sight. It was almost like they were soulmates, and you sighed. It wasn’t that you didn’t like the movie, but watching a movie like that was hard when you were surrounded by seven people you loved but knew would never love you back.
“Have you ever been in love?” Jeongguk asked, suddenly. It took you a stuttered second to realize he was speaking to you, wide and dark gaze unreadable in the low light. You realized that the movie was already over halfway finished, and you’d been distracted for a majority of it.
You stared at him for a long time, lost in thought. It felt like the entire room was waiting for your answer with bated breath, and for the first time in a long time, you felt slightly uncomfortable.
“Not like that,” you said. “And I don’t know if I’d want to be.”
Jeongguk looked away, but Namjoon drew your attention as he asked, “What do you mean?”
It was hard to explain, and you weren’t sure how to begin. How did you tell these men that you wanted that type of love so desperately, you could taste it on the tip of you tongue? How did you describe to them how much it scared you, enticed you, beckoned you for more? A type of love you could only read about, hear about in movies. The type of love only shared between soulmates?
It was easier, pretending not to want it. Because if you pretended not to want it, then you wouldn’t have to live with the crushing disappointment of never having it.
“That type of love doesn’t exist,” you ended up saying, because you were a coward, and intimately aware that you’d managed to fall in love with every single one of them, so who were you to be so greedy?
“I don’t think that’s true,” Jimin said, quietly. The movie was just a humble hum in the background, barely audible. “Maybe you just haven’t found it yet.”
It hurt, thinking about it. Hope could be just as painful as it was uplifting. “If it does exist, I don’t need it to be happy.”
They’d ruined you, you realized. There would be no one after them. Any chance you’d had of finding mediocre love with a man who made you happy but didn’t light a fire in your soul was dashed, and all because for the first time in your life, you’d found people that made you feel alive.
“Of course, you don’t need it. But what if someone wanted to give it to you?” Taehyung inquired.
You turned your head and looked away from them, considering and contemplating fruitlessly. “I don’t know.” The mood in the room plummeted, and you couldn’t help but think it was your fault. “I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologize,” Jin whispered. “Sorry for interrupting the movie.”
“It’s fine,” you laughed, only a little awkwardly. “I wasn’t really paying attention anyway. Do you want to watch something else?”
They agreed, and finally settled on the first episode of a crime show you’d never heard of but pretended to watch avidly. Several of them glanced at you from the corner of their eyes, but you tried your best to ignore it.
By the time early dawn was creeping at your window, it was already decided that Bangtan would spend the night. Such was your routine. You ended up squished in one bed with Hoseok, Yoongi, and Namjoon, with Jin and the maknae line on the other bed. Everyone was so tired that sleep came easily, but you still lingered awake, thinking and worrying about the situation you’d gotten yourself into.
You needed to distance yourself from them, or tell them how you felt. You knew they’d never return your affection, but at least you wouldn’t feel guilty about lying to them.
I’m in love with you, I’m sorry. I need some distance to think.
It would almost be easy, but you didn’t want to see the look on their faces when you confessed. You would probably sound crazy. Who fell in love with seven people? They would probably think you were faking it because they were handsome, rich, and successful.
No, no, you knew that was your insecurity talking. But you also knew your friendship with them would never be the same afterward. You weren’t sure if you were ready to lose them.
You were so tired. You wished you could just fall asleep and not worry about anything until the morning.
“You can relax,” Yoongi whispered, suddenly. His voice was low and gruff and muddled by sleep.
You almost startled. Yoongi was lying right next to you, and you’d held yourself rigid to avoid touching him. You were afraid of making him uncomfortable. You could feel the pressure of Hoseok’s back against your own, but he was already fast asleep.
“M’fine,” you murmured. Yoongi snorted at how tired you sounded and scooted closer, until you had to actively fight not to sink next to him.
“Come here. It’s fine.”
You hesitated for a moment longer before settling down, letting Yoongi’s weight on the mattress roll you closer until you were pressed against his side. You rested your head against his chest, intertwining one leg between his. “Is that better?”
“Yeah,” you whispered into his sweatshirt, voice almost slurred with how sleepy you were. You wished you were at least coherent enough to appreciate his sudden closeness. “Are you comfortable?”
“So comfortable,” he muttered, nuzzling his cheek against the top of your head. He maneuvered until his arm was underneath your head, fingertips drawing idle patterns across your back. “So, so comfortable.”
You laughed and looped your arm around his middle. “You’re such a sap.”
Yoongi’s body was incredibly warm, and you angled your face upward toward his neck. You could feel Hoseok’s back pressed against your own, and you wanted him to turn around and wrap you between him and Yoongi like a Bangtan sandwich. You dispelled the thought a moment later, knowing that it would lead nowhere except to awkward heartbreak.
“You smell good,” Yoongi said, instead of replying.
Unconsciously, you took a deep breath and smelled him. He smelled like the hotel’s scented body wash and whatever leftover cologne he’d put on before the concert. “You do, too.”
“Did you enjoy the concert?”
“I always do.” In the dark of the hotel room, with the only sound being the rest of Bangtan’s steady breathing, you felt safely cocooned. It was like living in a different world, where whatever pain and heartache you felt could be left outside, and inside this haven you could finally be free. “Sitting in the crowd, watching the seven of you do what you do. . . you just take my breath away.”
He went quiet. You were almost embarrassed for being so open with him, but blanketed by warmth and darkness, you found yourself too tired to care. Yoongi’s chest was moving up and down steadily underneath your cheek, and the soothing feeling was steadily pushing you toward sleep, until he broke the still and earnest silence.
“It’s better, now that you’re here,” he admitted, in a voice almost too quiet to be heard. “You make us better.”
“Mhmm, Yoongi,” you murmured, face still pressed against his chest. You were so tired, and your body was so heavy. You would never get over this feeling, of being able to exist absolutely comfortable in their presence. Hoseok shifted behind you, and you felt the curve of his spine through the thin material of your t-shirt.
“Yeah, baby?”
You hummed again, slipping further out of consciousness. You thought you heard him chuckle before he drew you closer, hand coming to rest on your shoulder. You cuddled closer to him and sighed, the beating of seven other hearts lulling you to sleep.
~~~
You woke up that morning cold, and a little bit barren. You didn’t understand why until you shifted and didn’t feel anyone next to you. Your hand met warm pillow, which meant you hadn’t been abandoned for long, but was still less satisfying than finding a warm body.
You nuzzled sleepily into your pillow and almost hummed, until the low sound of whispering caught your attention.
For a moment, you were too tired to listen, but as the whispering went on, you slowly starting paying more and more attention. Then, you recognized voices.
“We need to tell her,” someone said. You perked up at the mention of a her—you? Another woman?
“We can’t,” Jeongguk despaired. “You heard her last night. We need to give her more time.”
“You were the one that was so eager in the first place,” Yoongi hissed. “You’re the one who asked all that shit last night!”
“Be quiet,” Namjoon scolded. “She’s still sleeping.”
You turned your head just slightly, and caught sight of the hotel clock—it was only six o’clock in the morning.
“I just feel like we’re lying to her,” Taehyung whispered.
“It’s not lying if we plan on telling her later,” Hoseok said. “Now just isn’t the right time.”
Jimin butted in, saying, “It’s been over a month. What if there isn’t a right time?”
“We’re being too hasty.”
“We’re being impatient.”
“We’re wasting precious time!”
You sat up in bed slowly, and it was as if all of the air in the room was suddenly vacuumed away. Taehyung made a distressed noise in the back of his throat, and you asked, “What are you talking about?”
Your voice was soft and gruff with sleep, but still auditable. Someone in the room gulped.
No one said anything. You could see them now, piled together on the other bed, Jimin and Namjoon braced on the edge while the other five cowered behind them. You shifted until you were sitting directly across from them. The blanket was bunched around your waist, and your hair probably looked a mess, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
Your nose twitched, and you asked again, “What are you talking about?”
The silence stretched impossibly longer. Everyone was looking between you and Namjoon, but even he seemed at a loss for what to say. You glanced at each other their faces, trying to analyze them for weakness. Someone would have to talk—someone would inevitably break.
“We’re in love with you,” Jimin blurted out. Everyone turned to glare at him while you gasped, raggedly. It was like a bucket of water being thrown over you.
You stared at him, wide-eyed and incredulous. For a moment you were too afraid to speak, until you breathed out an uncertain, “What?”
“We’re in love with you,” Jimin repeated, softer, slower. “All seven of us.”
Unconsciously, you shook your head. It didn’t seem possible, and your brain was having trouble making sense of it—there was no way in Heaven or Hell that all seven men in Bangtan were in love with you. You were nothing, compared to the women that surrounded them daily. You were nothing, compared to the money and the fame they had. You were nothing. Maybe you were still dreaming, and this was all just an elaborate fantasy.
Jin was quick to do damage control. “It’s not as weird as Jimin makes it out to be.”
“Actually, it’s weirder,” Yoongi commented, dryly. “We’re soulmates.”
To himself, Namjoon muttered, “God, we’re so bad at this.” He pinched the bridge of his nose but didn’t move to speak further.
“What does that mean?” you asked.
“It means,” Yoongi continued, “that the eight of use are meant to be together. Every single one of us. We were meant to be together since the day we were born.”
“It’s not something we can explain easily,” Hoseok winced. “But the seven of us already knew what to expect, when it happened. Meeting your soulmate is like finding a missing part of yourself. It’s touching another person and knowing they hold a piece of you.”
“It’s looking into someone else’s gaze and seeing yourself reflected back at you,” Taehyung added.
“It’s filling a hole in your heart without even realizing it was there,” Jeongguk finished, quietly.
Namjoon decided to interrupt, saying, “We know it’s hard for someone who hasn’t seen it before to understand. That’s why we haven’t said anything until now.”
You looked up at the ceiling, not sure what to say. A part of you wished they would have told you sooner, but another part knew you wouldn’t have been ready to hear it.
“Didn’t you feel something?” Jimin asked, leaning forward on the bed. “When we first met, when we were finally all together? Didn’t something about it just feel right?”
“I don’t know,” you whispered, and your voice was embarrassingly weak. “I—uh—,”
You must be going insane. Soulmates didn’t exist, and if they did, you certainly would have seven of them—and they certainly wouldn’t be the entirety of Bangtan. All talented, handsome, special—and then plain, boring you? Nothing about it made sense when it was laid out in front of you, logical and analyzed.
But you couldn’t forget that feeling you’d had, when you’d first met them—all the heated touches, the electricity, how comfortable they made you. That feeling you’d had in the car, when Namjoon had shut the door and suddenly the world didn’t spin on a titled axis, suddenly a layer of static was lifted from your brain, and for once you could be at peace.
You couldn’t forget the rightness, buried deep in your chest.
“Why me?” you asked them. “I just don’t see why me.”
“Because you’re the only person in the world meant just for us,” Jeongguk breathed, and his voice was reverent, and the seven of them looked at you like you were something to be worshiped.
And it was too much. Your insecurity, your confusion—they pilled on top of each other and multiplied and multiplied, filling your body and your chest and it was too much.
You stood abruptly, startling them. “I think I need to leave.”
“Don’t go,” Jimin immediately begged, reaching out to you.
You took a step back. “I-I’m sorry. I need to think. I can’t think clearly when you’re all here.”
“Then we can leave,” Namjoon started to say. “This is your hotel room—,”
But you turned before they could stand, and you were out of the hotel room before they had time to stop you.
