in fics where luke gets plopped into the prequels i want every jedi within ten metres of him to think hes the weirdest jedi theyve ever seen. he has negative lightsaber form. he doesnt know what a kata is. he handstands when he meditates. his solution to sith is to try and have a chat. hes a political radical who keeps suggesting revolution. you ask him what the jedi code is and he says "kindness and compassion and helping those in need :) ". you ask how he used the force like that and he says some shit about how you are a luminous being limited only by your mind. the councils authority is just a suggestion. he is somehow the new favourite of both qui gon and yoda

Phew! This was an endeavour! But I’ve wanted to draw the twins talking to all the force ghosts we know of for a while now, so here they are.

I have this headcanon that the only reason why Yoda gave Anakin so much shit about his attachments was because he couldn't get through to any of the masters and needed someone to bitch around.
Obi-Wan going starry-eyed whenever Cody is mentioned. Plo tearfully talking about how his men called him 'dad' in the middle of battle. Aayla scrolling through honeymoon options on the holonet. Mace trying to argue why the clones need better armor and also holidays. Shaak Ti showing around the newest pictures the cadets drew for her.
Yoda: Forbidden, attachments are-
Obi-Wan: Attachments?
Plo: Surely, you must be joking.
Aayla: What even are attachments, anyway.
Mace: Master Yoda, to even imply such a thing ... honestly, I thought you were better than this.
Shaak Ti: Master, I am truly wounded by your distrust.
Yoda: ...
Yoda, shaking: Go bully the bitch boy, I must.

One of the things I don't think enough people appreciate about Mace Windu was that he was essentially the leader of the Jedi Order. There's this weird misconception that Yoda, as Grandmaster, was the one in charge and that Mace was his right-hand-man or second-in-command, when in reality it was the other way around.
The title of Grandmaster was a title given to the oldest and wisest of the Order. Yoda is most definitely wise and powerful, but the title was given to him on account of his age and status within the order, whereas Mace was elected to lead the governing body of the Order as a whole.
To put it in more understanding terms, Yoda was the Head of State whereas Mace was the Head of Government. Yoda was the monarch, and Mace was the Prime Minister.

I'm thinking about the Jedi and Anakin, like you do, and it just cracks me up so much to see any variation of 'they always looked at him with suspicion, like they were waiting for him to mess up.'
Sure, in TPM they're unsure about him because Qui-Gon is dropping a nine year old with a lot of previous issues onto their laps and telling them they really should give him a laser sword and train him in the ways of the supernatural universe bending empathic powers that let you blow things up with your mind and that go haywire if you're emotionally unbalanced. Nobody's thrilled about the prospect.
But after that, honestly, the only Jedi who can ever be said to look at Anakin somewhat like that is Mace, which can be forgiven because 1) the man is Stressed and the people he doesn't expect to mess up are far and few in between, and 2) he and Anakin still have a rather cordial relationship overall, even if they aren't bffs.
But Luminara? Constantly smiles at Anakin. Jocasta? Same. Aayla? Calls him Master Skywalker (respectful, considering they're the same rank in the Order, if maybe not in the Army), is very caring and nice to him. Shaak Ti? Never changes that soft expression of hers. Adi? Big smirk when he shows off, like "aw, would you look at this kid." Plo? You can't even tell how he looks at people. Kit? Biggest grin. Even Piell? He's a grumpy bastard but he's not judgmental. Ki-Adi? Yeah, I guess it does happen once in a while - but he does it with Yoda as well they think he might be under attack from the Dark Side, so really it's him having a suspicious nature, not him targeting Anakin specifically. Seriously, Obi-Wan is more critical of Anakin than Ki-Adi is, and Obi-Wan has an Anakin-shaped blind spot in his soul.
Speaking of Obi-Wan - when he leaves for Utapau in RotS, he has the sparkly eyes of someone so overflowing with love that the gravitational pull of his affection for Anakin is warping the very light around them both.
Jedi freaking like Anakin is what I'm saying.

Oh Max
Tumblr media
How I've missed your Yoda-like wisdom. Your incomprehensible, needlessly complicated and obscure, wrapped in riddles, wisdom.
No one else is doing it like Max is doing it. We still don't even know this man's real name. He writes his diary in Vietnamese. He has seen god and the vast expanse of time. He doesn't understand Halloween. He's a single father. He's a homewrecker. He's died. He is a being of pure energy and light. He has commitment issues. He's an enigma. He speaks in riddles on purpose, solely for the bit.
I fucking love this man.

It just that. They find out that Dooku was involved in having the clones created or may have been, they know something's up, but they trust the clones. They trust the clones, have a lot of reason to trust the clones, and it's not even that they're wrong to trust them.
Because the clones never betray them. Palpatine brainwashes them.
There's a long way between "there's something fishy about this army" to "this army was created to kill us" especially when that army has proven itself trustworthy, especially when most of your time/energy/bandwidth is busy trying to keep people alive, especially when death and bad force vibes are wrecking havoc on one of your senses. And suspecting a trap isn't the same as expecting betrayal.
It's a long leap from "our enemy had a hand in our friends' creation" to "our friends are supposed to be brainwashed to kill us." And they never quite get the time to dig just a bit deeper.

I'll never understand how some fans are so incredibly willing to just be okay with "it happened in a timeskip" to excuse bad writing lol. Like "oh yeah these two characters who have been enemies for like four seasons of a TV show had their entire reconciliation OFF SCREEN in the time skip between episodes right at the end so it works" or "oh yeah this character who was left basically broken had their entire growth and development where they came to terms with the thing that broke them in the time skip so it works" kind of stuff. Like that's literally the ENTIRE emotional climax of a story that's been building for a while and you're FINE with not getting to actually SEE IT???
Can't relate.
#fandom wank#i'm so so tired of people telling me 'well it happened in the timeskip' when i get annoyed about something#like a character doing a personality 180#or a character suddenly changing their mind about something that was really important to them#or literal wholeass character development that's integral to this character's story#there are some things that can happen in a timeskip and some shit that CANNOT#like imagine if luke had NEVER confronted yoda or obi-wan about keeping the truth of his parentage from him#like we come into rotj and they're just fine and it's never addressed#like luke's just never mad and they never even have a convo about it#imagine how unsatisfying it would feel to have had that massive bombshell dropped without any real payoff to it#imagine never actually getting to see luke work through that particular revelation or how it impacts these relationships#and they were just like 'well it happened in-between movies'#it would SUCK#you NEED those convos in order to actually understand how luke fully comes to accept the truth about anakin#because even if he's calmer by rotj he's still upset by it a bit#only by TALKING to yoda and obi-wan does he actually get to the point where he has total faith in anakin's goodness#we HAVE to see that he's still frustrated about this and still working thru it#we cannot fucking skip it#i'm willing to accept that he's calmer about it due to the timeskip but not that he's already worked thru it all#there's a fucking difference

Advice for clanmew speaking structure: just say it in a Yoda voice. If it vaguely sounds like Yoda's speaking structure you did it congrats
This is accurate because that is actually how they make Yoda sound so odd. OSV (Object, Subject, Verb) word order is the rarest default order of all languages, to the point where it was once thought it didn't exist.
It does exist though! In some Amazonian languages, AND in some sign languages. But, anyway, point being that it's so rare that it's almost universally odd.
So if you make a character use OSV, like the writers usually do with Midnight in canon, you can tell there IS grammar, but that it isn't "normal." Either that they're not speaking their native tongue or wording their sentences in an uncanny way.
English, and Lakemew, are SVO. Clanmew is OSV.
English/Lakemew: Midnight teaches math
Midnight is the Subject, the thing that is doing. Teaching is the Verb, what she is doing. Math is the Object, the thing being done unto.
Clanmew: Math Midnight she-teaching.
See how they have swapped? And how there is a pronoun attached to the verb? You are ALWAYS expressing your relationship to the Subject in a Clanmew sentence. Their language is built around affirming in-groups and out-groups.
(Honestly she probably forgets about the lack of a first person pronoun pretty often and accidentally refers to herself in the third person a lot... making a mental note to self.)

for real 'don't mourn the dead but rather rejoice' is just about the most universal piece of wisdom you'll get from any religion anywhere so dunno what else people expected the head of a semi-religious order to tell anakin.
if you come to a spiritual person for advice (which anakin did, of his own volition) you get a spiritual answer idek

AI "art" pisses me off. Here on tumblr, a lot of ppl are against it, we're fighting the good fight.
But. Facebook. The place where pages farm clicks and boomers flourish. Don't bother telling someone "this is AI", they don't give two shits.
And then I saw this
Tumblr media
(the usual 'Chocolate is your enemy but trying to flee the enemy is cowardly' type of joke)
And I have one question...
How hasn't Disney sued AI programs yet??????
