WIP Wednesday: Ophelia and the King’s Madness
Tumblr media Tumblr media
expected to be about 100k+ words total, 50% complete
Hi and welcome to another WIP Wednesday!! Today I’m sharing Ophelia and the King’s Madness, which is a spin off from my Hardenshipping Dead Sea Trilogy that focuses on Colress, the novelty third wheel, and his time in Team Plasma.
Ghetsis hires Colress to look after his daughters who, despite being adults, live completely isolated from the outside world.  But Anthea and Concordia find themselves smitten with the man who brings so many strange and wonderful things to them.  But as their relationship develops, Concordia slowly discovers the truth of who he and her father really are, and must face the choice to leave everything in her world behind.
Hit me during quarantine while I was...... stuck inside all day and couldn’t leave my house........ funny how life does that to you.
There will be mild - but not explicit - sexual themes.  But today is just a preview!  Colress and Ghetsis dunking on one another.
I ripped this straight off my google doc so enjoy all my typos and funny musings ✨

 Chapter 0.5??? (AT RISE?  CURTAIN???)
Colress Achroma had seen every sight there was to see in Castelia City.  There was nothing new about the subway station, the cars, the lights, the people, the noise, and even his own apartment.   Nothing fulfilling about the bars, the clubs, the drinks, the parties.[---maybe mention something about the people who lurk in the subway station/swers and how weird they are--]
And while it was objectively true that there were perhaps hundreds--if not, thousands--of new things to do--drink, fuck--every day, for Castelia City had no shortage of people like him--nothing      felt    particularly new.  Not since he had moved back from the Hoenn region, where he had completed his PhD, which had grown especially underwhelming in its own regard.  While he had certainly missed the sheer expanse of the city in that time--ever since getting his PhD--which had turned out to be nothing but dull barrier after dull barrier--he felt incredibly,      painfully     understimulated.  And so, he sat in the [bleak] alleyway in the dark, grimy underbelly of his hometown, spinning the petals of a white rose in his hand, waiting for something new.
No, he wasn’t there for a hookup.  He knew better places than here for that.  He knew this underground tunnel system perhaps even better than the subways themselves, even as it ran adjacent to them.   Admittedly, the cryptlike sewer system had become something of a second home to him, ever since he was a kid.  Here in his favorite corner, for instance, there were still even smears of ash from when he had started a fire when he was 14 and narrowly escaped the police.  That, particularly, was the first of what was soon going to become many narrow run-ins with the law.  No, he wasn’t here to sell or solicit, even though he was told someone would meet him here.
Okay so when put like that, it might as well have been a hookup.
But as he sat perched up on a ledge, scanning shadows in the dim, yellowy light on the wall--down past the shadows that scooted across the filthy waterways--he saw a long, black shadow emerge from the darkness.  [add in the flower ‘he loves me, he loves me not’ thing?].   Although, it was more as if the cloak had pulled off and carried teh darkness with him.  The man was large; and wore a long, black cloak; his footsteps, which would have otherwise been almost soundless and serpentine, were interjected with a      thud     from his cane--forcing him to walk in an uneven, cacophonic rhythm.  He leaned into his left, and leaned into it hard.  In fact, with the hsape of the cloak, and the way he walked, even from here, it would appear almost as if the man entirely lacked a right hand.
Colress dropped another white petal down from the ledge.  “He loves me,” he said, then glanced up at the man and smiled.  He slid down off the ledge and stared up at the large man, the grossish yellowish light grossly illuminating his face.  “You came.”
“I was told I could find someone here.”
“Well, you found correctly,” Colress said, waving the flower around.  “Now, what exactly is it you want?  I’m not accepting clients, if that’s what you’re after.  But, there are plenty of girls down here who, if you pay them right--”
“Enough,” the man said, spitting on the ground at Colress’ feet.  His voice boomed, nearly echoed down the chamber.  “I’m not here for a prostitute.”
“The polite term is ‘sex worker,’ actually, but--”
“I’m looking for a scientist, not a whore.”
“Lucky for you, I’m both,” Colress said, smiling.  The man stops and stares at him, incredulously, like he doesn’t think he could be serious.  Colress flashes some sort of badge at him.  “How can I help you?”
 “You can’t be serious.”
“Oh I am,”  Colress said.  They stare off again at one another, Ghetsis is like “Nevermind this has to be a mistake” and starts tot turn to go.
“I thought you might be a little apprehensive, given our location, but I promise, only the best of the best gather in the nighttime here in Castelia City,” Colress said, reaching into his bag.   “After all, how would you have gotten your contacts to get ahold of me? I prepared for you my entire CV--” he extended the document to him [basically traps him from leaving].  The man raised his eyebrows, but tentatively accepted it.  “Although, you should know this is quite the unusual place for a job interview.”  [Colress gives him a devious grin.]  “I dig it.”
“Jesus Christ,” the man muttered, scanning over the document.
“What?  Overwhelmed and amazed at my outstanding credentials?”
“No,” the large man said.  “I had heard the rumors.  I just didn’t believe they were      fucking true    .”
“Ah, so I have a reputation I see!  That’s good news,” Colress said.  “You should have a clue as to who I am, then.  However, unfortunately I’m still not sure with whom I have the pleasure of--” Colress paused, now seeing the profile of the man in the low light.   “Wait a moment,” he said, beginning to recognize the face.  “I’ve see you before.  You’re…” [the memory comes to him] “You’re Ghetsis Harmonia,” he said.  “The leader of Team Plasma.  All those ones going around talking about all that ‘Pokemon’s Rights’ bullshit--”
 “Pokemon liberation.”
“Oh and the      airship!      Quite a mechanical wonder, I have to admit.  I’ve always sort of wanted to get up close and personal with that antigravity machine,” he said.  He leaned in to Ghetsis with a sing-song tone.  “Are you here to give me a ride~!”
 “Only if you’re useful.”
“Useful?” Colress asked.  “In what way?”
[is he like a court jester to a king????]
“I’ve already told you I’m not accepting clients.  That’s never been my game anyway.  Useful?  To Lord Ghetsis Harmonia… isn’t that what they call you?  My lordship?  My king?  Leader of a selfless, benevolent organization devoted to the freedom of Pokemon.  It’s quite ambitious, I have to say.  I’ve never really seen anything quite like it.”
 Ghetsis was silent.
“But what could a proud, noble, and upstanding lord want with a--ah, what was it you called me?”
[MAKE SUR EHE CALLS HIM SOMETHING BEFORE THIS]
 “‘A sewer rat’ like me…?”
 “Research,” Ghetsis said, shortly.
“Oh?” Colress asked.  “Of what kind?  Surely we didn’t have to meet in such a remote location to go over my CV.  We could have gotten lunch.  Oh, or      brunch--!    ”
“Enough,” Ghetsis said, more sternly.  “I won’t tolerate this level of [silliness? Pfffft No better word].”
“Then what do you need of me, my lord?”
“I need you for research.  A very particular kind of research my own scientists believe you to be capable of.”
“Oh, scientists from down here?” Colress said.  “Word certainly does get around.  But what makes you think so?”
[Ghetsis hands him some kind of flyer from a battle or tournament or something]
“How’d you do it?” he asked.
Colress raised his eyebrows.  “What do you mean?”
“Your thesis was about DNA and Mega-Evolution,” Ghetsis said.   “And this,” Ghetsis pointed again to the page.  “You enhanced its power for competition.”
“I didn’t enhance anything,” Colress said, flatly.  The flatness in his voice, however, spelled sarcasm.  “The ‘power of friendship’ did that.  If I had enhanced anything, that would be cheating, wouldn’t it?”  Colress paused.  Examines Ghetsis.  “Of course, the ‘power of friendship’ in this scenario might involve a few extra nuts and bolts.   Nothing more.”
[  Ghetsis like grunts or makes one of his Ghetsis noises.  Colress kind of turns and looks at him.  Ghetsis maybe says something like [We could pay you well to do it again] or something etc.]
“But what would a noble Lord want with a researcher like me?   What would an upstanding and noble, pacifist organization like Team Plasma possibly want to do with Pokemon battling power?  And, with you coming to me in such circumstances, I’m beginning to think that you’re either horny, or Team Plasma isn’t exactly what it says it is.”
“We have certain aspects that we keep only to the initiated.”
“Well, it’s a cult, isn’t it?” Colress said.  “I mean, Team Plasma is a cult.  You all walk around in hats and robes, handing out pamphlets and preaching about love and destiny and higher wisdom.  And you at the very helm.”
 Pause.
“Well, if this is a personal invitation to join your freaky little cult, I’m afraid to tell you I’m not really religious, and I don’t really plan on ‘being saved’ any time soon--”
“I heard you weren’t satisfied with your day job.”
“Day job?  What day job?” Colress laughed.  “I don’t need to work for a living.”
 “Exactly.”
 Long pause.
“I do what I want.  I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to come around.”
“And what exactly is that opportunity, Colress?”
[Long pause. Colress decides it’s time to spill.  Something pulls him to know to understand what Ghetsis is there for, air of malice.]
“Have you heard of an organization called Cipher?”
 “Faintly.”
“They were a criminal organization responsible for the ‘Shadow Pokemon’ incident that happened about a decade ago in the Orre region.”
 Ghetsis raised his eyebrows, interested.
“They operated in secret laboratories in abandoned warehouses scattered throughout the region.  Their laboratory director, Ein, was behind the conception of the project,” Colress said.  “In his profile, he is described as someone ‘long on ambition and short on emotion,’ something to which I think we both can relate.”
 “Mhm,” Ghetsis siad.
“Ein was the pioneer behind the creation of these creatures--Shadow Pokemon.  Pokemon capable of entering this hyper-empowered state.”
 [Maybe more nods.]
“I always sort of wished I could talk to Ein.  But, unfortunately like any other criminal organization, they were eventually found out, and their records destroyed.”
“So what was the point in you telling me all that?”
“Please let me monologue.” [Say something about how like if he’s going to join an evil organization he’s only going to get a chance in this once in his life--also maybe it’s like he’s given ghim a sales pitch??]
 They stare at each other.
“What they were doing was highly illegal, of course.  Though, I couldn’t stop myself from wondering, if, given the opportunity, I could do better.”
[They have a moment where they’re on the same page.]
“Cipher’s mistake was that the Pokemon were strong, but ultimately uncontrollable,” Colress said.  “Their approach, ironically enough, was too emotional.  This flimsy control maxed out Pokemon’s power, but brought them into a manic state that made them lash out uncontrollably.  This lack of control also made it an easy effect for anyone to reverse.  A handful of people were known for doing so.  They called it Purification.  ‘Opening the door to a Pokemon’s heart,’ that’s what they called it.  In fact, that’s even how Ein himself chose to define it,” Colress said.
[Colress turns and then laughs].  “That’s what he called it.   Can you believe?  ‘Opening and closing the doors to the heart…” what the fuck does that even mean?  Some bullshit phrasing they made up to describe the process of divorcing a creature from its emotional integrity.  ‘Hearts’ and ‘doors’ aren’t measurable data.  It was a chemical they were using.  A wave.  Cipher’s true methods, as I’ve said, were unfortunately lost to time.  But, we do have the work of Professor Krane, who developed a more regimented procedure for purifying these Pokemon,” Colress said, smiling.  “It’s a wave.  They used EM waves.”
 “Congratulations.”
“The way I see it, Cipher’s approach likely targeted the limbs, so to speak, rather than the creature as a whole.  This left weak points that Krane and other purification scientists were able to exploit.  If they wanted to truly be successful, they would have had to find a way to overrun the entire mind of the creature,” Colress said.
“So success would mean absolute control?”
 “Yes,” Colress said.  “Precisely.”
“That I can agree with you on.”
Another pause.  “Theoretically, one would be able to use the work put forth by Professor Krane to reverse-engineer the way that Cipher created these Pokemon, and then build upon it for their own ends.  To do so would be highly unethical, of course, and cause quite a stir in most procedural review boards,” he said.  “So it remains a fantasy that I’ve considered, but never fully entertained.  The bureaucrats win out again, and for good reason, I suppose.”
“That’s quite a tale you’ve spun for me.”
“Isn’t it?” Colress asked.  “I always thought so.  But that’s not what we’re here about, is it?  We’re here for you,” [he turns to him and smiles].  “So, Lord Ghetsis Harmonia… cult-leader, king.  What is it that I can do for you?”
“By the sound of it…” Ghetsis said, slowly.  “Exactly what you want.”
Colress [does something], smiling.  “Then, gratefully, my lord, I am ever at your service.”  [Maybe kisses rose and tosses it at his feet?  → this ties him back to Concordia]

*** Strong Tongue and Slender Fingers ***Episode 1 Chapter 4: *** More Than They Bargained For ***
CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 3
Summary: More revelations, new monsters.
NOTES: It's not long, but I wanted to get something out to you guys. Hopefully I will get more out in the next few days.
With the exception of characters who are "dead" on the show, it's as canon as possible (I try to fact-check as much as possible). Taking place after season 14 (up to a few years after). I wrote it kind of like a script because that's just how I am. Reading this version, you will miss some information, but check my "Works" for the others. I also have alt scenes ready to go when the series gets to that point.
Dean barely managed to throw a leg over the edge of the bed before he fell back to sleep. Sam’s phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and scowled. “PATIENCE” He answered the call, placing the phone to his ear. “Hey. What’s up?”
You attempted to relieve your shakes by pacing a very small space in the room while Castiel watched. Sam left the room before either of you noticed him moving away. When the door shut, you turned at the sound.
“I’ll be back.”
“Wh-where are you going?”
“I’m going to talk to someone.”
You raised your shoulders in a question. Before you could speak a word, Castiel had disappeared. “Great.”
Sam came into the room from outside and started putting some stuff into his bag.
“What’s goin’ on?”
“We have to go to the park.”
“You guys have to go?”
“You’re coming too.” He handed you the empty bag.
“Uh, no. I thought we were going to the diner.”
“We have to take care of this first.”
“Why does it seem like your plans changed all of the sudden?” Your question caught him off guard.
“Um…” He struggled. “Because most of the activity happens close to sunrise.”
“I’d think going when it’s the most active is also the most dangerous.”
“Is something wrong? Because I thought you were looking to us for help.”
You looked into his eyes. “I’m not a hunter. I don’t go after things that are incorporeal.”
“Well, that’s too bad.”
You scoffed. Sam threw a pillow at Dean, who quickly sat up. Sam looked around the room, confused.
“Where’s Cas?”
You shrugged. “I guess you’ll have to hunt for him.”
- - - - - - - - -
You all pulled up to the location. It was in the middle of nowhere and obviously a small amusement park at some point. There was a lake nearby and, after staring for a few seconds, you turned to Sam and Dean in the front. “I’ll just stay here.”
“No, you’re coming with us.” Dean waved, indicating you should get out.
“Why?”
“You ask that a lot.”
“So do you.”
“Because we said so.” Sam retorted.
You glared at him.
Dean sighed and turned around. "Why don’t you wanna go in?”
“Guardians. Elementals.” You stared out of the window. "I try to stay out of their way.”
“Is there a reason?”
“Very few things scare me. In fact, probably two things scare me. Elementals are one of them.”
From your side, you heard Castiel’s voice. He finally decided to join the group and give his input. "No one has ever seen an elemental.” His voice was skeptical and grinding on your nerves.
“I’ve always been able to see them.” You turned to look at him. “It’s not as if they live on this plane.”
“Lots of things don’t live on this plane, but there’s more evidence of them, than there are of elementals.”
You got into his face. “Can you see me?” You asked him, aggravated, then sat back.
“You said you didn’t know what you are.” Sam pointed out.
“Not for sure. I wasn’t going to tell you, in case it turned out I was wrong. I don’t need more reasons for you to distrust me.”
Sam rubbed his temples. “Alright, so what’s a Guardian?”
“It’s a type of elemental. It can be any number of things. Look like anything. Some can make you do anything.” You looked at Dean. “Crack open a book and read. I hear you have a lot of them.”
“Right now, you’re the only thing we got.”
“I don’t know everything, obviously.” She gestured to herself, then took a book out of her bag. “My notes aren’t great. I did find a clue once, but it only led to more questions. Elementals: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, sometimes Spirit, first generation.”
“Of what?”
You held up a hand to shut Sam up. “Deities, spirits, magical beings… Most notably, fairies.”
Dean’s hand gripped his steering wheel as if he were getting ready to drive away.
“Basically, just think of elementals as Pokemon. The specific type of elemental is a species of Pokemon, whatever comes after is the evolution of that species.”
“Thank you. For putting that so simply.” Dean looked at his brother, anxiously. “Sam?”
Sam quickly tried to take the attention off of Dean. “Uh, So… What type of elemental is a guardian?”
“Usually Earth.”
“I think I’ve changed my mind. I would really like to leave now.” Dean’s voice quivered.
You glanced at him. “What’s wrong? I thought this is your job and it’s the most important job in the world.”
“Wrong. Service workers have the most important jobs.”
“Is hunting not considered a service?”
“Got me there.”
Castiel, to your surprise, was quiet for what felt like too long. “What’s their purpose?” He asked.
“This one, specifically? If you go in there, you’ll probably feel an intense urge to leave. Guardians keep people safe and protect certain areas.”
“They do that by making you leave?”
“Yeah, but not just leave. They can make people aggressive toward each other or themselves.”
Sam looked forward. “Are you saying they can make you hurt yourself?”
“It’s their last resort but yes. They can use your worst memories against you.” You leaned forward. “You don’t have any of those do you?” Grinning, you sat back and looked out the window again.
“Why wouldn’t you say something sooner, Y/N?” Chiming in, Castiel felt the need to inquire.
“Didn’t know exactly where we were going or that one was here.”
Sam took a deep breath. “Okay. You’re going to tell us everything you know when this is over. For now, tell us about this one.”
“Their first priority is the location, not humans.”
“Is this the real reason people think it’s just ghosts here?”
“Probably.”
“Why wouldn’t Cas have been affected?”
“He’s not human. There’s no reason to be worried about him.”
“I’m right here.”
"Doesn’t mean they can’t.” You looked at Castiel defiantly. "You didn’t even know elementals are real.”
“I still don’t know they are.” After a pause, he continued, his frustration with you getting the best of him. “You didn’t know angels are real.”
“Really? You’re supposed to have, what, centuries of knowledge? Yet I’m the one who should know about everything that exists.”
“Actually, I’m eons older —.”
“I can tell.”
Castiel looked at Dean and Sam as if you just insulted him in the worst way, annoyed they didn’t say anything.
“You don’t know geological time periods?”
“Why would I need to know that?!”
“Shut up!” Dean turned back to the two of you. “Both of you. Out. Now.”
Castiel and you looked away from each other.
“It may have already started.”
“You’re coming with us, whether you like it or not. You’re the only one who can see this thing. Do you know how to kill it?”
You laughed. “No! In asking for your help, did I completely give up my rights?”
“Pretty much.”
You angrily exited the Impala, followed by Castiel, who went in the opposite direction.
“How the hell are we gonna do this?” Sam nearly yelled at his brother, who shrugged. “You better figure it out.”
“You figure it out!” Dean tried to relax.
“We’re already about to be at each other’s throats.”
“Just remember that. It wants us pissed off. Let’s try not to.”
Sam’s reply was dripping in sarcasm. “Great plan.” He got out of the car.

Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu!!
Good evening ☆
I’m sorry it’s been so long since I last updated.   It’s a New Year for my blog too!   Please continue to support me in the New Year!!!
I had so much I wanted to write that this ended up being really late, but I’d be so happy if you would read it!
Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu – The Strongest Team...
Wrapped up its schedule on December 16, 2018!   To everyone who came to the theater, to everyone who watched in a live viewing theater, to everyone who’s supported us, thank you so much!!
And thank you so much for all the letters and presents!  I always get a lot of strength from them!   I am truly sorry that I’m so late in saying my thanks.   I kept writing my blog entry for Engeki Haikyuu and erasing it and rewriting it, and then before I realized it, it was the new year... lol Please forgive me, I’m very bad at speaking.
Once again, I have nothing but gratitude for being able to be Kageyama Tobio for a year and a half, for three productions total, and to be able to play volleyball with everyone on Karasuno.  Thank you so much.
I’ve always been a fan of the original manga series that’s published in Shounen Jump, and I’ve always been into Kageyama Tobio, who shares my surname.  I came to love him as a character because of his awkwardness, his attitude toward volleyball, his relationship with Hinata, and I was quite drawn to his growth and development as a person.
I still remember even now talking to my manager about definitely wanting to audition for this production. I could see the results of the audition in my dreams over and over, and every time, I’d swing back and forth between being happy and sad.   When I got the part, I was really so shocked. And happy, so happy.   But at the same time, I felt enormous pressure about representing a character I loved.
I’m not strong mentally, and I kept wondering to myself if it was ok that I play Kageyama Tobio, and I would get depressed over and over. Even as I got more experience with the production, this dark side of me would appear again and again and I worried a lot as to whether or not I’d be able to continue acting even.
I mean, Kageyama Tobio has such a huge presence, and Kimura Tatsunari’s Tobio was such a huge presence... Engeki Haikyuu is a truly special place where you have to think for yourself and you have to take charge otherwise you will disappear on that stage.  It’s a place where you need a lot of power as an individual.  You have to strategize with the people around you and consider the things you can do, the things you can’t, and all the things you’re lacking as an actor.  It was a really hard balance to strike within my own heart.
But in those times, the people who supported me and lifted me up were my friends, my family, the people in my agency, everyone in the staff, everyone involved with the production, the Karasuno members, everyone in Gekidan Haikyuu, and every one of you who supported us.   Our director Worry-san always believed in me. And I love Worry-san’s Engeki.
To Wada-san, Our composer Wada-san supported us with his music.  I was so happy that we could have his music live for The Strongest Team and that we could talk about Engeki together.
To our choreographer, Tsuto-san, I was always so happy whenever he’d praise me. His Engeki volleyball was the best.
To our sound crew, our lighting crew, and everyone on our staging crew, The reason that I could stand on that stage as Kageyama was because all of them were there for us, and because we created this production together with them.
And to everyone on Karasuno...
Keita-kun He was always so reliable and always gave great hugs.  Knowing that Keita-kun was behind us made me feel secure; he was such a reassuring captain!
Ken-chan When it was my first time with the production in Summer of Evolution, he was always looking out for me.  Ken-chan’s kindness saved me so much.
Naoki I’ve known Naoki a long time, and it made me really happy to be able to talk together and create something together.  I was able to do all of those acrobatics because Naoki was there.
Hiroki We’re the same age, and he has such an easygoing attitude, that he was really comfortable to be around.  Thank you for traveling with me and for being so nice to me professionally and personally.
Jas-kun Gekidan Haikyuu’s Idea Man.  Jas-kun’s attitude toward Engeki was really wonderful. He really was the Ace figure who’d finish things out for us.
Kazuma-kun We’re both from Shizuoka originally, and we had generally the same feelings about a lot of things, and he was always giving me advice.  Thank you for always looking out for me from every angle.
Shio-san He was like a captain of a special attack unit, and was always in the vanguard for acting and commenting on everything. I really loved tossing to Shio-san’s Tanaka-san.
Fucchi We started together with Summer of Evolution, and he’s the guardian deity that’s overcome a lot together with me.  Thank you for doing extra morning practices with me. He made me laugh a lot.
Shouhei-kun When I first saw that first production, Nishinoya was the one I liked most.  His form when chasing after the ball, his receives, I loved it all.
Kairi I first met him in high school, and I was really surprised to see how big he’d gotten.  He played Yamaguchi’s story so sensitively, so carefully, and he was always so supportive even when you couldn’t see him.  When I see Kairi’s Yamaguchi, I think that when the first-years become third-years, that Yamaguchi would be captain.
Ryoutarou As our characters, he and I are like cats and dogs, but normally he’s so sweet, you can’t hate Ryoutarou.  I feel like we really shared a lot of the same energy and atmosphere when acting together.  It was a lot of fun to create the relationship between myself and Tsukishima who really is annoying.
Tatsunari Because Tatsunari was Kageyama first, I was able to be Kageyama after.   Even now, Tatsunari’s Kageyama is so vivid in my mind, I can see him so clearly in front of my eyes.  I’d love to be able to relax and chat with him over a drink soon.
And Kenta I really do think that I was extremely privileged to be able to act together with him and to face Kenta’s Hinata.  I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused.  Hinata says to Kageyama in Act I, “As long as I’m here, you’re invincible.”  And when he says that, it really saved Kageyama and it really saved me too.  Thank you.
And to everyone who supported us Your support really was our strength.   At times when I thought I would break, it was because everyone made the effort to come to the theater, and because everyone was thinking about us that I was able to keep going after the ball.  I am really bad at expressing my feelings honestly, so I think I might have worried some people a lot.  But because you believed in me even so, I was able to perform to the end.  Thank you so very much.
It was thanks to the help of everyone who was involved that we were able to make it to the finish line. There are some sights that you just can’t see by yourself, and I was able to see so many of them.
Life is different for everyone, and there are all sorts of viewpoints and you never what’s going to happen.  But to be able to spend the time that I could with everyone is my treasure.
Engeki Haikyuu really helped me to experience a lot of new things.  It was like a dream, thank you so much.
From now on, as an actor that carries the renown of Gekidan Haikyuu, I want to keep working hard so that I can make people say those guys that came out of Engeki Haikyuu are awesome or crazy.   Today marks one month since the final performance of The Strongest Team.
To me, Engeki Haikyuu is The Strongest Team. I’m going to work diligently so that I one day work on another production together with those Engeki maniacs.     Engeki Haikyuu will continue onward.
Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu – The Tokyo Battle

Stephen Strange x Reader, Gender Neutral

Based on request by Anonymous
Okay, maybe the reader is training at Kamar Taj while Wong and Strange are away and they come back super beat up and the reader has to take care of Strange?
A/N: I think I went a little off topic, but hopefully it still works. PLEASE COMENT AND REBLOG IF YOU LIKE THIS.
Word Count: 1.6 K
Doctor Stephen Strange amazed and frustrated you to no end. He was absolutely brilliant as a doctor and as a master of the mystic arts. But, whenever it came to combining the two, he was utterly dismissive.
“I have an MD and PHD,” he had told you.  “I think I know how to heal people.”
He understood that when it came to healing, the mystic arts focused on self-healing.  Meditation and other practices could speed up the process, but ultimately, western medicine could do just as well.  You, of course, disagreed.  When you first came to Kamar-taj, you had quickly discovered your talent for healing spells and made it your focus of study.  It was therefore, not uncommon to see the two of you in a heated debate either wandering through the courtyard of Kamar-taj or in the library of the New York Sanctum.
You were both stubborn in your ways, but still held a great deal of respect for the other.  Strange did like to point out the fact you didn’t have an MD license outside the sanctum, but you always retorted he was no longer a practicing surgeon. There was an odd balance to the whole thing, ending in playful eye rolls and a look that lasted a second too long.  It made you wonder if he prompted those debates on purpose, like a little boy tugging on a girl’s pigtails to get their attention.
You shook the thought away. No, Strange just liked proving he was right.  You were simply reading into body language that probably wasn’t even there. Still, the thought wouldn’t leave you, no matter how hard to tried to focus on the tome in front of you.  Eventually, you just gave up, picked up and the book and placed it back on the self. Damn Strange for managing to get inside your head.
You debated going to your room to meditate, when a circle of orange sparks caught your attention.  Out of the newly formed portal came Wong, his clothes torn and his face bruised, being followed by the Cloak of Levitation carrying an unconscious Stephen Strange.
Your mind sharpened into focus, jumping straight into action.
“Place him down on the table,” you instructed, quickly.
The cloak obeyed, laying his master down, while you and Wong cleared away the mess.
          “What happened?”
“I’m not sure,” Wong said.  “Some creature came out of no where.  Strange took the brunt of the attack.  I couldn’t see what it was.”
Looking down at Strange, that was exactly what it looked like.  His face was bruised and littered in cuts.  The sleeves of his of his tunic were torn, revealing long scratch marked. And his torso looked like it had gone through a lawn mower.
You pushed down the bile rising in your throat and got to work.  Rolling up your sleeves, you began muttering incantations.
“Herbal remedies are in my office,” you told Wong.
He was off like a shot, leaving just you, Strange and the cloak.
His breathing was only becoming more labored, even as the wounds on his arms and face began to heal.  It was taking everything in you just to close a simple cut. You were certain the creature that attacked had something to do with it.  Either by mystical enhancement, or simply evolution, the creature exuded a kind of poison making it virtually impossible to close the wounds. You could feel the energy draining from you.
Wong appeared a moment later, carrying an armful of vials and herbs.  You thanked him, mixing and crushing ingredients with new found speed.  You weren’t completely sure what kind of poison it was, but you could make a fair guess.  You spread the mixture over Strange’s wounds and began muttering more incantations. The wounds were healing faster, but he had already lost too much blood.  You could feel his life draining away.
“Y/N,” he mumbled. He blinked his eyes open. They were dull and out of focus, so different from how you were used to seeing him.
Your heart clenched at the sight.  “Don’t move,” you soothed.  “I’m going to fix it.”
Taking a deep breath, you waved your hands over his body, creating a blanket of golden light.  It molded itself to him before sinking into his clothes and skin.  A sharp pain clawed at your abdomen causing you to groan in pain, but you didn’t stop.  You kept your eyes on Strange watching the gaping hole in his torso heal itself.  The cuts on his cheeks and arms faded as well.  His breathing stabilized.  His eyes cleared, going wide as he stared up at you.
           “Y/N!”
It was only then you felt the blood trickle down your forehead and into your eyes.  You blinked it away and stepped back from the table.  A sudden dizziness took over you.  You looked down to see a large stain of blood spreading across your torso.  Wong caught you before you fell to the floor.
“You’re alright,” he assured.  “You did well.”
You gave him a faint smile, before closing your eyes and allowing the darkness to take you.
When you woke up, you found yourself in the comfort of your room.  A smile came to your face at the familiar wooden ceilings, and the shafts of light coming from the nearby window.  You stared to run your hand down your face, but immediately stopped the moment you touched your skin.  A throbbing soreness spread across your face, and you became aware of the stickiness of bandages on your forehead and cheeks. Taking a deep breath, you forced yourself upright. Your body was stiff, but you managed to sit up in bed with only a small groan of pain.
It was then, your door opened. Stephen Strange stood before you, looking more disheveled then you had ever seen him.  His hair was a mess, appearing like he had run his hand through it a good fifty or so times.  His beard was not as well kept, and his cloths were rumbled.  The only proof he had changed out of them at all, was they weren’t covered in blood.
“You’re awake,” he said, sounding uncharacteristically relieved.
You tried not to let it get to you, even as you felt your cheeks warm.
“How long was I out?” you asked.
           “Forty-eight hours.”
You nodded in understanding.  You thought as much. Honestly, you were surprised it wasn’t longer, considering how much energy you expelled.
You then turned your attention back to Strange. He was healing nicely.  His face was completely clear of scars.  There were no bandages bulging beneath his sleeves. However, he was standing more stiffly than usual.
           “Are you alright?” you asked.
There was a beat of silence as he stared at you in disbelief.  He then let out a strangled laugh. “Yeah, yeah I’m fine.”
His exasperation faded the longer he looked at you. His eyes trailed down your face, focusing intently on every cut a bruise. You felt the need to say something, but couldn’t under the magnitude of his gaze.
“What did you do,” he finally asked.
“Equivalent exchange.” You felt like you could breathe again.  “Only to be used in emergencies.  It allows the caster to take the wound from another.  Not all at once, mind you, just enough to help the patient stabilize.”
He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head at your explanation. “It was a stupid thing to do.”
Your eyes narrowed.  You didn’t have the time or the patience to have this argument now.
“You were dying,” you snapped. “Believe me, if we had another method of saving you, I would have used it.”
“You still shouldn’t risk your life like that,” he countered.
“I’m a doctor.  It’s my job is to heal people.  You’re telling me you wouldn’t risk your life for a patient?”
There was a pause, and you immediately felt guilty. You knew Strange felt shame at his past actions while he was a surgeon.  Back then, he wouldn’t even risk his reputation.  But, things had changed.  You knew they had.  He had risked his life multiple times to save everyone.
He seemed to understand you meant no real harm, but the guilt was still there. After what felt like an eternity, he met your gaze and his eyes softened.
           “Depends on the patient.”
It was one of those instances where you couldn’t tell if he was joking or being completely serious.  The little half smile didn’t help, as it only made your heart beat faster and your mind go a little fuzzy.
“Can I try something?” he asked.
You were surprised by the question, but found yourself nodding anyway.  He took a place on the bed, sitting closer than society might deem appropriate.
           “Close your eyes.”
You did.  There was a pause, and then, you felt the tips of his fingers brush across your forehead.  You could feel the blood rushing to your cheeks, but you knew something else was warming your face.  It spread from your forehead, trickling down your face and across your nose.  It felt like having your face submerged in warm water.  Slowly, it started to fade. The soreness was completely gone. You opened your eyes to see Strange staring back at you with a proud smile.  You pulled off one of the band-aids to find your wounds had completely healed.
“I thought you said you weren’t interested in learning our ways of healing,” you teased.
His expression turned rather awkward as he ran a hand through his hair. “I might have read a few books while you were out.”
           “A few?”
“Most of your collection,” he admitted. “I could still use a teacher.  If you’ll help me.”
You stared at him in wonder. He truly was something else.
           “Gladly.”

Calappa ocellata Shame-faced crab / Box crab
ft. Werner de Gier / @cyan-biologist
“Where’s the stomach? It should be here somewhere,” biologist Werner de Gier says over a call from his field lab in Curaçao.
In February, he went to the Carribean island to investigate a group of crabs that look like bread rolls someone dumped to the sea. “Or like mini baguettes,” he agrees.
Scientifically known as Calappa, the box crabs are named after their large, flat claws which they use to dig into the sand. “They seem to hide their face behind the claws as well!” Werner explains the crabs’ catchier name: the shame-faced crabs.
Though crabs are easily found in restaurants, people are unaware of some of the more oddly shaped or beautifully colored species out there. “Evolution has allowed crabs to be camouflaged ninjas or sturdy battle tanks, taking a lot of niches in marine, land, and freshwater ecosystems.”
If Werner were to be honest, he likes crabs because they’re weird. “Crabs walk funny, have no idea what's happening in their surroundings, snip at you, and are generally goofy.” Professionally, he’s interested in how crabs live and interact with their marine co-habitants.
For example, razorfish pester crabs for a living. “When the crab moves, the fish follows it everywhere. When it stops, the fish harasses the crab. If David Attenborough was here, it would’ve been in Blue Planet.” He thinks that the crab’s movement stirs up the sediment, exposing small animals to the fish’s hungry mouth.
Werner other big interest is snails, which happens to be what the Calappa crabs eat. Some snails grow longer, stronger shells to avoid being eaten, while the crabs develop a can opener-like claw to pry them open. They are locked in an evolutionary arms race, each side constantly trying to outsmart the other.
It’s hard to observe this predator-prey interaction under the sea due to their shy nature. As a result, he has to dissect his beloved animals to see what’s in their guts using DNA analysis.
“The worst thing about crab dissecting is that there’s crab juice everywhere. It’s like a slushy of organs,” he speaks after a fifteen seconds-long noise of him drilling through a crab’s shell.
“My laptop smells like crab now.”
Werner de Gier is a Master’s student at Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden. Get to know Werner and his ramblings about crabs, shrimps, and snails. Be sure to also check out our joint hashtag, #invertebrateshitposting.

Spoon Views: My Hero Academia Episode 10
Symbol of Peace
Welcome back to Spoon Views. And this episode was,,, the one we’ve all been waiting for. I put makeup on this morning, and now I wish I hadn’t because I cried twice like the lil bitch I am. Before I start I just wanna say there might be a little less analysis this time because I just did my first two a level exams and my lil brain is all tuckered out so, just know I’m trying my best lmao,,, So, with that out of the way, let’s get into it !
Okay, first things first, for some reason I always thought the bar would be like a basement bar? But
Tumblr media
Apparently it’s on the second floor. I mean, it might just be me being a dummy but at the same time, oof. Weird.
Moving on, let’s talk about something I haven’t discussed before on Spoon Views (I think).
Tumblr media
And that’s staging. It might not be intentional (because lets be real most of literature analysis is bullshit I’ve studied it for two years I Know), but this shot can reflect the distance between All Might and Endeavour, with Endeavour looking up to All Might, or up to the position he quite desperately wants. Also, this shot shows Endeavour’s hair colour, something we don’t usually see due to his flames. And we all know that in pretty much every episode this season, Bones have tossed us a Dabi is a Todoroki hint. So maybe,,,,
Speaking of Bones, they did a fantastic job on All For One.
Tumblr media
I mean, everything about him was creepy, but the clapping in particular just kinda creeped me out more than anything. I have to say though, in the manga I remember him calling Magne “my dear” when she addressed him, which increased the creepiness factor (for me anyway), but, at least in the translation I watched, he didn’t do that, which made him seem a little more aggressive and therefore less all-out creepy. But that’s just a matter of opinion rather than anything serious.
Away from All For One, I also wanted to talk about Best Jeanist in the terms of Stain’s ideals.
Tumblr media
On first glance, Jeanist sorta comes across as one of the ‘fake’ heroes; he’s obsessed with appearance, and put Bakugou down because of the way he looked and acted, despite him having heroic intent. He also seems to have awarded himself an award he invented 8 years running. But his actions in this episode show us a different story. He sacrifices himself to move the other heroes out of the way, getting himself hurt in the process. I mean, this of everything shows the flaw in Stain’s ideals, because Jeanist (someone who he would perceive to be a face hero) willingly sacrifices himself for the other heroes.
And what happens to him is gory af
Tumblr media
I’m not usually afraid of supernatural based things but I may have to change that where All For One is concerned bc that power Should Not Happen.
Anyway, away from my personal scardy-cat nature, here’s a question that’s been playing on my mind ever since I first read this bit.
Tumblr media
Is All For One dying?
We know he has a longevity quirk that’s enabled him to survive all this time, but at the same time, he’s been raising Shigaraki as an inheritor for his quirk and seemingly his entire criminal enterprise, and for some time he’s been choosing Quirks that fit Shigaraki. I mean, if we wanna go really deep into personal theory, I actually think all for one and one for all began as the same quirk, and due to the evolution of one for all via the passage of users, the quirk was able to evolve while all for one stayed stagnant… I mean, I can fully meta this, and if u want it drop me an ask !
I’ve seen a few people talk about the abusive relationship All For One has with Shigaraki and, although I’m not denying what he did is abuse it IS, the type of abuse needs to be focussed on.
Tumblr media
I’m almost sure that All For One was probably never physically abusive to Shigaraki. It’s obvious Shigaraki has a heavy dependence on him as a father and/or mentor figure, and this relationship imo is unlikely to come about through physical abuse. Instead, the abuse was probably more emotional. Shigaraki’s complete dependence comes from first a lack of emotional development and second because he’s most likely never been able to depend on anyone else. This is probably to prevent Shigaraki gaining opinions of his own, therefore making him the perfect tool against All Might. Furthermore (spoilers guys, spoilers), it gives him the fury and vengeful urge to lead him to taking over All For One’s place in destroying the hero industry. Still abuse tho.
Away from analysis, I love how Bakugou’s still throwing his anger issues around at the scariest criminal boss in the world.
Tumblr media
Like, he just doesn’t back down and that’s something, as a living doormat, I can get behind. What a love.
I also love how much of a good friend Iida is.
Tumblr media
He grabs both Midoriya and Todoroki, the two who he already knows are willing to risk themselves after the Stain fight. I just,,, love him.
No commentary here but
Tumblr media
Gosh darn this is a good shot !! so cool lookin
But, during the first part of the scene, I felt so bad for Bakugou, having to watch his idol up close seemingly meet his match.
Tumblr media
Bakugou idolises All Might because he never loses, so to see him meet someone who can match him blow for blow must be extra terrifying for Bakugou. Poor kid.
He’s still doing his smile as well
Tumblr media
Y’know, the one everyone talked about last episode where Bakugou was desperately trying to maintain a smile the way All Might does… God I just want this kid to have a good time.
His dodging tho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cool as SHIT Bakugou has fighting skills wowee
This is also when Bakugou’s (spoilers again) guilt for what happens next begins in my opinion:
Tumblr media
He knows All Might can’t fight while he’s there, and maybe All Might wouldn’t have gone over his limit if he were able to fight with his full power from the start… God, I know I’ve said this about 60 times but poor Bakugou.
And, finally, we get to the bit…
Tumblr media
The bit where my tears first began to fall…
In all seriousness, I wish they had kept the “It has to be you” line, because that was iconic, but it was still a sob-worthy scene. I know everyone has already waxed lyrical about the hand scene so I’m not gonna (and this is mostly analysis anyway, and there’s frankly not much in that scene that isn’t already obvious) but it was,, absolutely fantastic, hats off to the animators.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I also love how Bakugou still found it in himself to bitch
Tumblr media
You better go far, my stubborn boy.
And then seeing how happy Kirishima looked now they had got Bakugou back
Tumblr media
So cute !
Also, while we’re here, can we get a cheer for Mt Lady?
Tumblr media
Just letting Compress slam straight into her head like,, omg,, icon I love my wife.
Back to the villains side of things, it’s no secret I love Shigaraki and this bit was the second time I cried in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s just one of those people who always seems to lose out and even tho he’s shitty, I just want him to achieve something like,, good,, redemption arc when,,,
I don’t actually think he’s gonna get a redemption arc but that don’t mean I don’t want one !! Gimme.
On the same topic, I just wanna know
Tumblr media
What was he gonna say? (any theories feel free to drop them!!)
And, to round off:
Tumblr media
@ any anime only readers, have u made the connection? Bc,, oof
Anyways, that’s all I have for y’all this week on Spoon Views!! It’s been a tough ol week, so pray my exams pick up next week and that I can find a job.
Speaking of a job (and my lack of one), I finish college soon and I will hopefully be opening commissions as well as putting out some multi-chaptered fics, but if you wanna help me out, I have a ko-fi  !!
Thanks as always,, see u next week,,

The Book of Joan by Lidia Yuknavitch (Dystopian)
The bestselling author of The Small Backs of Children offers a vision of our near-extinction and a heroine—a reimagined Joan of Arc—poised to save a world ravaged by war, violence, and greed, and forever change history, in this provocative new novel.
In the near future, world wars have transformed the earth into a battleground. Fleeing the unending violence and the planet’s now-radioactive surface, humans have regrouped to a mysterious platform known as CIEL, hovering over their erstwhile home. The changed world has turned evolution on its head: the surviving humans have become sexless, hairless, pale-white creatures floating in isolation, inscribing stories upon their skin.
Out of the ranks of the endless wars rises Jean de Men, a charismatic and bloodthirsty cult leader who turns CIEL into a quasi-corporate police state. A group of rebels unite to dismantle his iron rule—galvanized by the heroic song of Joan, a child-warrior who possesses a mysterious force that lives within her and communes with the earth. When de Men and his armies turn Joan into a martyr, the consequences are astonishing. And no one—not the rebels, Jean de Men, or even Joan herself—can foresee the way her story and unique gift will forge the destiny of an entire world for generations.
A riveting tale of destruction and love found in the direst of places—even at the extreme end of post-human experience—Lidia Yuknavitch’s The Book of Joan raises questions about what it means to be human, the fluidity of sex and gender, and the role of art as a means for survival.

Sympathy by Olivia Sudjic (Fiction)
An electrifying debut novel of obsessive love, family secrets, and the dangers of living our lives online At twenty-three, Alice Hare leaves England for New York. She becomes fixated on Mizuko Himura, a Japanese writer living in New York, whose life story has strange parallels to her own and who she believes is her “Internet twin.” What seems to Mizuko like a chance encounter with Alice is anything but—after all, in the age of connectivity, nothing is coincidence. Their subsequent relationship is doomed from the outset, exposing a tangle of lies and sexual encounters as three families across the globe collide, and the most ancient of questions—where do we come from?—is answered just by searching online.   In its heady evocation of everything from Haruki Murakami to Patricia Highsmith to Edith Wharton, Sympathy is utterly original—a thrilling tale of obsession, doubling, blood ties, and our tormented efforts to connect in the digital age.
Strawberry Summer by Melissa Brayden (Romance)
Just because you’re through with your past, doesn’t mean it’s through with you. Margaret Beringer didn’t have an easy adolescence. She hated her name, was less than popular in school, and was always cast aside as a “farm kid.” However, with the arrival of Courtney Carrington, Margaret’s youth sparked into color. Courtney was smart, beautiful, and put together—everything Margaret wasn’t. Who would have imagined that they’d fit together so perfectly? But first loves can scar. Margaret hasn’t seen Courtney in years and that’s for the best. But when Courtney loses her father and returns to Tanner Peak to take control of the family store, Margaret comes face-to-face with her past and the woman she’s tried desperately to forget. The fact that Courtney has grown up more beautiful than ever certainly doesn’t help matters.
The World Unseen by Shamim Sarif (Re-release) (Historical Fiction)
In 1950's South Africa, a free-spirited café owner falls for a young wife and mother. Their unexpected attraction pushes them to question the cruel rules of a world that divides white from black and women from men, but a world that might just allow an unexpected love to survive.
Ordinary Cruelty by Amber Flame (Poetry)
In her debut poetry collection, Ordinary Cruelty, Amber Flame spells out rituals in everyday decisions to hold on or let go. While questioning the role of elder, mentor, mother in the face of losing those figures, Flame details the unrelenting nature of parenthood through the cycles of grief. Her poems exuberantly rejoice in the brown skin of the female body, while soberly acknowledging the societal dangers of claiming such skin as home. I Love the Computer Because My Friends Live In It: Stories From an Online Life by Jess Kimball Leslie (Nonfiction)
I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live in It is tech analyst Jess Kimball Leslie's hilarious, frank homage to the technology that contributed so significantly to the person she is today. From accounts of the lawless chat rooms of early AOL to the perpetual high school reunions that are modern-day Facebook and Instagram, her essays paint a clear picture: That all of us have a much more twisted, meaningful, emotional relationship with the online world than we realize or let on. Coming of age in suburban Connecticut in the late '80s and early '90s, Jess looked to the nascent Internet to find the tribes she couldn't find IRL: fellow Bette Midler fans; women who seemed impossibly sure of their sexuality; people who worked with computers every day as part of their actual jobs without being ridiculed as nerds. It's in large part because of her embrace of an online life that Jess is where she is now, happily married, with a wife, son, and dog, and making a living of analyzing Internet trends and forecasting the future of tech. She bets most people would credit technology for many of their successes, too, if they could only shed the notion that it's as a mind-numbing drug on which we're all overdosing.
Reckoning by Magda Szubanski (Memoirs)
In this extraordinary memoir, Magda describes her journey of self-discovery from a suburban childhood, haunted by the demons of her father's espionage activities in wartime Poland and by her secret awareness of her sexuality, to the complex dramas of adulthood and her need to find out the truth about herself and her family. With courage and compassion she addresses her own frailties and fears, and asks the big questions about life, about the shadows we inherit and the gifts we pass on.
Honest, poignant, utterly captivating, Reckoning announces the arrival of a fearless writer and natural storyteller. It will touch the lives of its readers.
Making My Pitch: A Women's Baseball Odyssey by Ila Jane Borders, Jean Hastings Ardell, and Mike Veeck (Sports)
Making My Pitch tells the story of Ila Jane Borders, who despite formidable obstacles became a Little League prodigy, MVP of her otherwise all-male middle school and high school teams, the first woman awarded a baseball scholarship, and the first to pitch and win a complete men’s collegiate game. After Mike Veeck signed Borders in May 1997 to pitch for his St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League, she accomplished what no woman had done since the Negro Leagues era: play men’s professional baseball. Borders played four professional seasons and in 1998 became the first woman in the modern era to win a professional ball game. Borders had to find ways to fit in with her teammates, reassure their wives and girlfriends, work with the media, and fend off groupies. But these weren’t the toughest challenges. She had a troubled family life, a difficult adolescence as she struggled with her sexual orientation, and an emotionally fraught college experience as a closeted gay athlete at a Christian university. Making My Pitch shows what it’s like to be the only woman on the team bus, in the clubhouse, and on the field. Raw, open, and funny at times, her story encompasses the loneliness of a groundbreaking pioneer who experienced grave personal loss. Borders ultimately relates how she achieved self-acceptance and created a life as a firefighter and paramedic and as a coach and goodwill ambassador for the game of baseball.
Killing Off the Lesbians: A Symbolic Annihilation on Film and Television by Liz Millward (Media Studies)
So, the lesbian character dies. It seems to happen frequently in films and television shows. But does it really? And if so, is it something new? Surveying the fates of numerous characters over decades, this wide-ranging study shows that killing off the lesbian is not a new trend. It is a form of symbolic annihilation and it has had an impact in real life: lesbian actors are more likely to come out and serve as role models. When more women are working behind the scenes, what appears on-screen also becomes more diverse--yet unhappily the story lines don't necessarily change. Thus from the Xenaverse to GLAAD to the Lexa Pledge, fans have demanded better from the entertainment industry. As fan fiction migrates from the computer screen to the printed page, authors reanimate the dead and insist on happy endings.

So I kinda headcanon that whenever Ushijima gets drunk he's pretty much the same just a little sluggish & slurred but anything he says is somehow really thought provoking, philosophical & meaningful so may I get a scenario where he & his wife are at a bar or something(maybe the other 3rd years are there if you want) & whatever they're talking about leads to him saying "The earth is 4.5 billion years old & I'm alive the same time my wife is & that makes me happy" or something cute like that?
djvndsjvbbsdjbvsdvm this is socute. i love it. of course, i am always here for shiratorizawa third-yearhangouts. even better that they still get together after high school :,)

You’re not really paying attention to what your husband andhis friends are saying anymore. It’s not out of malice, though: it’s gettinglate and you would normally be tired at this hour even without alcohol in yoursystem. While they talk about…whatever it is they’re talking about, you’ve beendrawing delicate circles on the back of Ushijima’s hand under the table. It’sone of the few forms of intimacy you can get away with giving him in public.
“Look, evolution is constantly happening around us. We justcan’t see any of it because it’s so gradual it takes, like, thousands of yearsor something. Who’s to say that homosapiens are the final form of what humanity can be?”
You’re almost sure Tendou’s saying this, partially becausehe’s sitting on the other side of Ushijima and you can’t see who ever says it andpartially because Semi follows up with a, “Read that in one of your Shonen Jump series, huh?”
You let out a slight giggle and then yawn, which comes outsqueakier than usual. Under the table, you feel Ushijima’s hand flip palm-upand let your fingertips glide over it. Your fingers naturally intertwine with hisand he gives your hand a slight squeeze.
“Whatever the case,” Ushijima starts, “all I know for sureis that the Earth is four-and-a-half billion years old, I’m alive at the sametime as my wife,”—he now turns to you and offers a soft smile—“and I couldn’tbe happier because of it.”
Semi snorts at this, Yamagata and Tendou almost spit outtheir drinks in fits of laughter, and Reon smiles and nods in approval atUshijima’s words as if he’d been helping him figure out what to say. You, however, are stuck somewhere between a beaming smile and completely breakingdown into tears.
“Toshi! You—I don’t—what,” you stutter.
“Aren’t you two married?”Semi asks.
“I think you broke ____, Wakatoshi,” Tendou manages to getout in between laughs.
“I’m,” you say, thinking carefully about what should follownext, “happy too. That you think that, Toshi.”
He gives your hand another squeeze under the table while yougrab your half-full glass and raise it.
“To another four-and-a-half billion years!” you cheer. You’resmile is bright aside from the tears now running down your face. Ushijimaobliges and raises his own glass and his friends follow suit.
“To another four-and-a-half-billion years!”

Tatsuya: When I passed the Engeki Haikyuu audition.  I never could’ve thought that I’d ever be able to play Kageyama. Ryoutarou: The fact that pizza-fries made a comeback.  I thought it was a bit early for that. Kairi:  Where I'm from, we put pollock roe into takoyaki and it's really yummy.  (I can't eat octopus)  Honestly, pollock roe goes with everything. Ken-chan: I’ve started singing Shouwa period songs while I’m at karaoke alone.  (The Shouwa Period dates from 1926 to 1989) Hiroki: Muscle training!  I’m aiming for a six-pack. Justin: I saw a feature on memory-foam pillows on TV, so I tried changing pillows after all this time.  I think my quality of sleep has gotten better than before, so I think I’m less tired in the mornings.

Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu - The Start of the Giant
Comments from the Director and the Cast  (Full comments under the Read More)
Worry Kinoshita The last show, which was titled “Summer of Evolution,” was about their summer training camp in Tokyo, so the spotlight really was on the theme of youth.  This time with “The Start of the Giant,” we’ll bring everyone back once again to the intense world of volleyball.  It’ll be a show where it’ll seem as though you’re right in the middle of the court, I think.  With this new production and together with all of our new cast members, I want to make a new Haikyuu.
For Johzenji and Wakutani South, we’ll build their own Engeki approach to reflect each school’s volleyball style.  I think for sure they’ll become new and exciting teams.  The next play featuring Nekoma and Fukurodani, their story starts here, and so does Hinata’s personal drama of going to Spring High just like The Small Giant he admires.  More than ever, I think it’ll turn into a very lively show that feels just like being on a high school team.  One where it’ll feel like you don’t have enough eyes while watching.
Let’s all relive the youth that we’ve once before experienced.
Ino-san, Akisawa-san, Yuuki-san, it’s such a shame that these three will not be with us.  We’ll take the Engeki Haikyuu that they built, their passion, their ideas, the abundance that they gave us, we’ll take that on and once again upgrade the show.  Gekidan Haikyuu* will never stop progressing.
They really worked hard up to now, and I thank them.  Let’s meet again for sure.
Suga Kenta I will be continuing to play Hinata Shouyou in the new Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu, The Start of the Giant; I’m Suga Kenta.
Finally!  Engeki Haikyuu breaks into the Spring High Qualifiers! They’ve been called “a fallen powerhouse, flightless crows,” but they’ve overcome various matches, and once again obtained their wings.  To be able to experience that new form of Karasuno as Hinata in Engeki Haikyuu makes me happier than anything! And once again, exciting new individuals and new matches make their entrance! I wonder what new wind they’ll bring with them... and how will “that” scene with Ushijima play out... I’m already looking forward to it myself! (laughs)  I’ll be waiting for everyone at the stadium**!
And to the two who’ve helped build this show and been with us from the first show and the second, Ino Hiroki-san, Akisawa Kentarou-san. And Yuuki Kousei-san who joined us in our last production.  It’s now time for them to leave this production.  Although I’m not supposed to give this kind of comment, I’m honestly very sad... but it’s not as if the time I’ve spent with the three of them creating this Engeki Haikyuu will disappear!  All those days we spent “connecting” together aren’t going anywhere.
I want to support those three as they challenge even higher heights, and I think they will watch over us as Engeki Haikyuu tackles new challenges as well!
I’ll say it over and over again.  Volleyball is a sport where you’re always looking up.  As always, we plunge forward while looking up, so please continue to support us!
Kageyama Tatsuya Continuing to play Kageyama Tobio from the previous production, I’m Kageyama Tatsuya! I feel nothing but happiness that I’ll be able to play Kageyama Tobio again. I want to show everyone how much I’ve improved my heart, technique, and physique, thanks to Summer of Evolution!! After losing, the final battle of the Spring High qualifiers now begins.  Together with our new cast members, an even more white-hot match will soon take place. No matter the school, I don’t want to lose.  I want to exhaust myself and give it my all for Karasuno High School’s victory! Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu - The Start of the Giant We’ll be waiting for everyone at the stadium!!!
Tanaka Keita (Sawamura Daichi) I played Sawamura Daichi in the very first show, but as I’m “connected” back in, it’s due to the strength of the many people who’ve worked on Engeki Haikyuu after me that this show continues to evolve.  I have to do my best so that I don’t lose to this show that’s leveled up so many times since the first show, and one where the cast members and the stage effects have improved so much.
And as Karasuno’s captain, I want to become a great foundation for them so that Karasuno and Engeki Haikyuu can once again make leaps and bounds.  I’m going to devote myself body and soul to that challenge!!
Tanaka Naoki (Sugawara Koushi) Pleased to meet you!  I have the pleasure of playing Sugawara Koushi on Karasuno, my name is Tanaka Naoki.   Haikyuu, a series loved by so many people.   I’ve also loved this series from the very beginning of its serialization! And to be able to become a member of this world is such an honor!! I want to face this production earnestly, love Sugawara Koushi, and tackle it with all my body and soul.   Please come see this new start for Engeki Haikyuu with your own eyes!  Everyone, please support us and cheer us on!!
Funaki Masahide (Terushima Yuuji)  From the popular manga and anime, and even the very popular Engeki Haikyuu, it is truly an honor to be able to take part in this series as Terushima Yuuji! Among the many schools that’ll appear, I want us to have the most fun!!  I think Terushima is the type to really move, have fun, and play, so I also want to have fun while tackling this play! With all the members of Johzenji, we’re gonna fire up this production! I’m going to do the best that I can, so please give us your support!!
Yanagihara Rin (Nakashima Takeru) Playing Nakashima Takeru, my name is Yanagihara Rin!  When I read the manga and Nakashima Takeru first appeared, I felt like I had a lot in common with him.  Of five siblings, I’m the second son among my brothers and sisters.  And when I was in middle school, as the ace of my team with the #1 on my back, regrettably we lost that match, and I cried.   I’m very happy to be able to appear on stage as Nakashima Takeru who shares that experience with me. I’m going to give it my all so that Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu will be loved by as many people as possible! Please give us your support!
Arita Kenji (Ushijima Wakatoshi) To bring a manga character to life by playing their physical flesh and blood persona carries enormous pressure and is a huge responsibility, but as a single actor, it’s a task I want to face sincerely and wholeheartedly.   When I played volleyball in middle school and high school, we were national champions, and when I played in college, we ranked third in the country, so I want to make the best use of those skills. As a fan of the manga, Ushijima Wakatoshi is my favorite character to have appeared in Haikyuu, and he’s the character I most wanted to play.
Silent and sincere.  As the powerhouse behind three consecutive trips to Nationals, he has true strength, and is overly serious, but that is how we see that he’s a bit of an airhead too.  To have that nickname from his teammates shows that he’s still easy to befriend, and I think that’s wonderful.
I’m going to play Ushijima Wakatoshi to the best of my ability, so please give us your support!

Translation Notes
*As ever, the term gekidan haikyuu is a very loaded term for this company.  It’s a word they use to refer to their team of actors, full of meaning...  in simplest translation, ‘cast’ or ‘troupe’ work well enough… but this is a word they all came up with together, back in the very first production to refer to the team, the family, of actors and staff and technicians who come together to make Engeki Haikyuu.  To them, the word is equivalent to ‘family.’
**Everyone is saying “stadium” as in, a sports stadium as opposed to “theater.”  Obviously the tours aren’t going to perform inside of any actual sports stadiums, but since they’re going into the Spring High qualifier tournament, they want to get that sports tournament vibe across.
