🌿Minimizing Waste as a Hearth Witch🌿
Tumblr media
Minimizing waste saves money and the environment. With a little creativity, there are many ways you can create opportunities to reduce waste and maximize the supplies you have.
🍄 Keep your jars. If you buy something that comes in a useful container and can be reused - then reuse it. In my experience, the best reuse for plastic containers is to freeze food. Also, small bottles like Advil bottles, are EXCELLENT spell jars. However, for all types, you can use them to store food, organize drawers and closets, store spell ingredients, or even make decorations. The possibilities are nearly endless!
🍄Keep all your fruit, vegetable, and herb scraps. With some scraps and water, you can make a lovely broth. Alternatively, you can use them to make a simmer pot for a spell or simply for the scent.
🍄If you eat meat, keep the bones. Again, a great broth ingredient!
🍄Avoid paper towels whenever possible. These are super wasteful and expensive. Whenever possible, I opt to use a towel or cloth. You can recycle old textiles for rags. However, if you're feeling ambitious you can knit or crochet towels and cloths; this is a great way to use up that scrap yarn you probably have laying around! You may even choose to add a bit of knot magic to these pieces.
🍄Thrift and upcycle. This is a bit of an obvious one; but really. It's a great way to have lovely belongings while reducing waste overall and saving money. With a bit of love, many things can be new.
🍄Almost every dish can be salvaged. It happens. We mess up. But, before you throw it away, do some research on how to salvage it. Odds are, you will be able to do it!
🍄Don't throw away fruits or vegetables that are overripe or wilting. Within reason, of course, many of these fruits and vegetables can be frozen for soups, casseroles, sauces, and smoothies!
🍄Buy a reusable coffee filter and tea basket for loose tea. Really, this is a given if you are a tea or coffee lover. Disposable ones are so wasteful and the reusable ones will pay for themselves in no time.
🍄Compost if you can. Compost dirt is amazing for growing ingredients for dishes and spells. While you're at it, save your eggshells, as well.
🍄Mend your clothes, blankets, and even shoes. A little bit of love can go a long way, including increasing the life of your favorite items. You can also add flair by learning how to darn and apply patches.
🍄Learn how to remove stains from fabric. In the same vein as mending, learning how to remove stains increases the life of your clothes. Different stains require different methods of removal, but usually, it is not impossible. Failing this, learn how to dye your clothes to revamp them.
🍄Use alternative cosmetics. This is a really big topic and I will create a post about this later. But, consider doing research. There are lots of things that can be made or substituted; notably face masks, hair masks, and using coconut oil as a make-up remover.
🍄Localize your practice. Use natural herbs and ingredients found in your local environment. Create your own correspondence if needed.
🍄Collect rainwater. Unfortunately, it is no longer a great idea to drink rainwater - but use it to water plants and clean your floors. Rainwater is also a powerful spell ingredient for spells that don't require drinking or putting on your skin.
🍄Only buy what you need. This time of year more than ever it is VERY tempting to buy up cheap Halloween-themed goods. But, consider an item's long-term usefulness, if it will create clutter and disorder in your home in the future, and if there are alternatives.
🍄Buy a cheap food dehydrator. These are perfect for making tea and drying out herbs, flowers, and other ingredients for spells and cooking.
🍄Consider alternatives in cooking and spells. There is always an alternative, you may not have to buy something new.
🍄Meals and beverages as spells. As a full-blown kitchen, I believe spells eaten and drank are extremely powerful. It also saves on ingredients.

🌞 Good Morning! I have a brief, but exciting shop update for ya'll today. . 🆕 New Product! Hand-crafted spell paper for Prosperity, made from 100% recycled paper. This is a super-limited, one-of-a-kind batch, so be sure to check them out at https://etsy.me/3FFQCef . ✨ These pages were hand-made with a blend of herbs and infused with the intent of attracting and increasing prosperity. Draw on money-attracting sigils or use them in any wealth-related spellwork. This batch of paper dried in the sun for an extra boost of solar energy. . 📝 The process of making this recycled paper is a time-consuming, though relaxing activity. It begins with shredded paper, blended with water into a pulp and mixed with herbs. This pulp is added to a bin of water to create a slurry, stirred slowly to suspend the paper particles in the water while infusing them with magical energy and intent. Each page is individually "scooped" with a mesh-backed frame and, after draining excess water, gently turned out onto a flat, fabric-lined surface. We remove additional water from the wet paper with a sponge and it is left to dry. When the pages are dry, the rough edges are trimmed and bundles are pressed flat with a stack of heavy books. From here, similar-sized papers are grouped and tied together in bundles ready to ship. . Keep an eye out for future spell papers 🧿 https://www.instagram.com/p/CddlEktugXw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

What are your headcanons on some of the manager's cheats and how they do them? like prethinker and his castling jump. i personally believe he just concentrates to an almost painful degree.
Random Corporate Clash Headcanons, How They Do Their Cheats Edition
Wrote this half asleep so I hope it makes sense
Duck Shuffler
🎰He... rolls his slots? It's self explanatory lol he just pulls the lever
Prethinker
🧠I feel like this guy has either set up invisible wires to make it look like he's jumping really high or he gave himself a jet pack
🧠Definitely think hard about where he should go
Derrick Man
🛢️He just... makes oil? LOL
Deep Diver
🫧Look I don't know how he's diving under the wood okay?
🫧My best guess is there's like a river or ocean all around Barnacle Boatyard and she's actually just running over there and diving in the water constantly but because of gameplay restraints, that can't really be shown
Rainmaker
⛈️I think her hair is what gives her the weather powers NGL
⛈️Like her hair is magical I guess? And she just controls the weather at will after that lol IDK what else to say here
Land Acquisition Architect
🚦This man's cheat has concerned me for a while because ink is kinda like... Toon blood... So uhhhhhh..... Yeah I dunno it's just very strange
🚦I think the best answer is either he has magic powers for draining ink or he's got some medical equipment to remove some
Gatekeeper
⚔️I feel like she actually wears a full suit of armor, either over her clothes and the game can't/won't show that or they're under
⚔️Either way, this girl's wearing full armor in my head so the beefy defense makes sense
⚔️Her unluring Cogs is probably just her perfectionism showing itself lol
Witch Hunter
🔱He has magic powers without a doubt
🔱The bewitchment stuff? Just witchcraft
🔱Fire powers? I don't know why he has these but also magic
🔱Hive mind? He's using magic again and/or he's just REALLY good at convincing Cogs to join the mob
Public Relations Representative
🧱Glower power is just the dagger flying around him. How's it doing that? Magic, I say
Bellringer
🔔I like to imagine he's so obnoxiously annoying that other Cogs just. Stop wanting to deal with him
🔔Haven't actually done a 1.4 Bellringer still so I can't really comment any further
Multislacker
🥪Zero task: He just has... a LOT of sandwiches. A lot.
🥪Hyper task: Hitting him just motivates him to hit you and do it really fast {since the animation gives him the effect that looks fast}
🥪Wasteful management: He probably calls his dad and tells him to bring Cogs over
🥪Lunch break: Either calls the Foremen directly to ask him to cover his 30 or calls his dad who calls the Foremen
Mouthpiece
☎️Look I know nothing about 1.4 Mouthpiece okay I cannot comment on this
Major Player
🎹He just... runs his show? IDK it seems pretty straightforward to me lol
Firestarter
🔥He's a man made of fire with fire powers... I don't think anyone is wondering how he does his cheats?
Plutocrat
🌑He probably has a remote to control all the stuff in his room like the temperature drops
🌑For deep freeze, I feel like that's just him showering the Toons with snow and ice so they get REALLY cold. Like, colder than they were before to the point their cartoon physics slow them down significantly
Treekiller
🪵I genuinely feel like he's cutting down trees in the middle of the fight and using the fresh lumber to attack LOL
🪵For peeling the bark... uh......... Yeah I don't know
Chainsaw Consultant
🪚RPM meter answers all your questions
🪚IDK he just does the cheats? Like normal attacks?
Featherbedder
💤Handing out melatonin maybe?
💤The rest I THINK is self explanatory? I'm not too familiar with their fight since I've only done it maybe 5 times
Pacesetter
👟He goes fast
👟Gotta go fast
👟Content sync is him shaking everyone's gag pouches
👟Moving goalposts is just him making up imaginary rules for you to get upset over because haha funny

Wait, it was OCD the Whole Time??
That common moment, all too universal, when you connect a behavior in your present to an event in your past. I've spent YEARS trying to find a spiritual spot to land, trying out deities and faiths in earnest. Every time, I might find a little comfort but ultimately it would ring hollow. I'd move on to the next inspiration.
Last night, at the holy hour of 4am - when all the strangest things happen - some of my neurons fired together and now my self-image has shifted. Even dreamt of earthquakes after, though that might've had to do with my partner climbing into bed while I was asleep.
"Give your worries to God, and if you're sincere, His Grace will free you from your fears."
That's what they told me when I was growing up. I heard it a few different ways, but it always came back to the idea that if your faith is strong enough, you won't fear anything.
Except, I was Always Scared.
No amount of thinking or praying or Bible reading worked for more than 5 minutes, if that. Fear coursed through my veins at all hours, shocked me from my sleep, and began to eat my entire life. I trusted the people who told me that prayer should work, so I Tried Harder. It had to be my fault. I sat on the floor, weeping over my Bibles, and begged the Man in the Sky to take the fear away. Please, make me a better person. (And maybe I could have a boyfriend someday, too? I was shooting for the stars, I guess.)
It never worked. Eventually, I left Christianity behind, and thought I was none the worse for wear. I hadn't grown up Evangelical, after all. My parents followed shortly after, recognizing that the faith wasn't serving them, either.
Still, that ember of belief, the idea if I could woo god into helping, had burned deep into my subconscious. I had to be a better person. If I was righteous enough, I could protect myself from everything, climate change to cancer to capitalism. If I executed Zero waste, vegetarianism, composting, obsessing over every kind of plastic in my life. Second guessing every food, tallying my sins so I could erase them. I wanted to be beyond reproach, to sweep away my carbon footprints and to be a Good Person.
Eventually I figured out that individual action wouldn't fix the problems I saw. No amount of composting would protect me from a snowstorm. The Good Place's Chidi showed me that my worrying wasn't helping. I eased up on myself, kept what worked, and bought some bacon. (Therapy also helped. Therapy's great.)
In recent years, I felt something was missing. I figured that the spiritual people in the world had a peace and joy that I, too, should be able to achieve if I just found the right faith. That little ember of belief still glowed somewhere in the back of my mind. So, I tried again. I've been to temples in the United States and abroad. I had experiences that were beautiful, I learned amazing things and I regret none of it. And I never, ever got what I actually wanted.
I didn't realize it until last night, at 4am, but all I ever wanted was a Cure. Some belief that would make my brain stop hurting me. There had to be some reason God was ignoring me.
Finally, I can stop searching. There is no faith that works the way an SSRI does, or thyroid medication, or a SIBO test. Only medicine can make my brain calm down. Only medicine could tell me that my pain came from food intolerance and not character flaws. (Yes, I believed that excruciatingly painful diarrhea was a weakness of my character. I just needed to learn to relax, I told myself. After all, I could digest milk and wheat just fine. Oh honey, no.)
Now, I've got to come to terms with what being faithless will mean for me. I'll still dabble in witchcraft, because spicy placebo psychology helps while I'm waiting to see my doctors. I'll still read about sociology and culture.
There's a hungry habit that wants to reach for answers, to keep looking. I'm going to treat that like my other compulsions instead of indulging it. The next time I'm tempted to dive into a faith system, I'll go get my coloring books or sewing machine. I'll make my world better by living my life, instead of looking for a God who will finally take pity on me.
I hope reading this long ass post helps someone feel less alone. Fuck, I hope it helps me remember that 4am epiphany when things inevitably get hard again.

"Well that was a huge waste of time. Sorry, Zero."
"Don't be. We tried, and failed. And -"
"And what?"
"And... I found myself... enjoying our journey."
"I took you to the most demon-infested place I could think of. Uh, no offence."
"... It is more pleasant perhaps than you realise."
"Are you flirting with me? Oh, you don't know how that even - "
"I had a pleasant time, with you."
Tumblr media
That finally made a small smile break through Frog's quiet demeanour since the ritual had failed. "Do you want to go to one more place with me before I drop you off back at Radz-at-Han? I need to get my bearings to see where we might try next and I know a good point to do that."
"I'd like that."
Tumblr media
Setting aside her scythe for a staff, Frog reached into the deep well of black magic she was adept in and employed the rituals her teachers had once used when instructing her to find the tears between void and home. Between Thirteenth and First. Or with Zero here beside her, watching a similar yet utterly different form of witchcraft, Home and Home.
Sure enough the Black Shroud was still riddled in ancient ties to the flooded shard, and many had been poked and prodded by wizards of greater or lesser skill through the millennia. If what little they'd learned of Francie bore out she may have come from a farm in a place so very like this forest, give or take thousands of years and total obliteration by rampant darkness.
And somewhere, hopefully, was a spot where they could reach out and tie formless voidsent to something solid, something that reminded her of home. Something that would enable Frog to truly meet the now loyal friend who had helped win Zero's trust when first they had been able to talk. The least Francie deserved was to be understood in turn.
Lowering her staff, Frog sighed in frustration that revelation hadn't hit her sooner.
"Did you not find it?" Zero asked, stepping forward in concern at the Warrior of Light's unusually slumped posture.
"I don't even know what it is," Frog admitted. "I just - I've handled this so very poorly I don't even know where to begin. I feel like I might have met you - saved you sooner." She sunk to her knee in front of Zero, put her hand to her shoulder, and beseeched her to meet her eyes with a sudden well of pain they'd unearthed together, thoughts tumbling into place. "If I had saved you, I would have severed his tie to you and he would not have fought so hard. Gone back to his old weapons and predictable moves. Instead I charged in all righteous and holy... I gave no thought to how it would have gone had I been strong enough as a Reaper to fight him as equals, to understand him and know what it was that he had done. To you. I wish Francie had been there. That I hadn't been as noble, as black and white."
Zero sought Frog's hand out, cautious, slow. It still made her jump at the contact, and take a moment to slide her fingers around the slender armoured wrist, cooler than armour usually was after a long day against skin.
She looked up at Zero, and found the slight quarter-ilm of change in her expression that made a benevolent smile when interpreted to someone else's face. "I understand you were under incredible trauma at the time. You are not to be blamed for simple decisions made in hard times. They simply are made, and in the noise - the hunger, the confusion, the pain, you are not expected to know all ends as you make that choice. We simply live with the end we have created."
Tumblr media
"Oh," Frog said.

𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝐼'𝑚 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑐𝑟 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑙 ✨
{Not really time travel, it's shifting-- to a parallel cr where everything is and happens just as I want it to, but I'm going back to 2011 and living through it all over again the way it "should've been" so... "time travel" is just easier to say, and faster}
I wanted to make this just because i think it's worth mentioning since once I shift to my s.b. cr dr, I'll shift back and forth to share updates on how it's going!! because I mean come on that's gonna be so cool and I'd have to share it with someone even if it's just a diary entry for me to look back on when I'm older.
~My family is debt free
~My mom opens the restaurant of her dreams and it's a huge success
~My brother graduates college and gets his dream job as a video game tester
~I'm free of religious trauma and never go through it in the first place
~I'm best friends with the pastors kids at my church, thus i'm part of the popular group at church so I don't feel like an oddball
~I have cute and cool clothes for sixth grade {instead of just plain colorful t shirts and jeans, which I got heavily bullied for in my cr!}
~My mom is chill, laid back and not over protective at all and she lets me believe what I want to regarding the LGBTQIA+ community because she trusts that if i'm wrong God will eventually "correct" my ideas so she lets me be
~Every crush I have likes me back, and I actually date some of my original requited crushes that I didn't in my cr like the guitar playing guy at my church who liked me but we were both too shy to make a move {until his best friend decided to make a move and now they're married in my cr 🙃}
~I always have sleepovers with my friends and some last the weekend till sunday after church
~I change the minds/beliefs/perspectives of the pastors at my church so they actually respect, support and love the LGBTQIA+ community and teach about how it's not a sin in their sermons
~I become a co-pastor at the church when I'm 16 for the youth group and the elder pastors respect me for my "unorthodox" beliefs and views because they finally see that God is Love and there shouldn't be anything dividing any humans from each other be it religion or sexuality, and all my sermons talk about that and spirituality
~I also change the pastors and church perspective on witchcraft and other wrongfully labeled "sinful/demonic" practices including Neville Goddard's teachings of being god of your reality
~I will also perform divine acts like lightning strikes and healing people {this is just fun lol plus I scripted it would help the church listen to me, like to see me as authoritative and spiritual enough to take advice from, since everything i'll be saying will be like complete opposite of what they're used to.}
~I will stay in public school but switch schools to the richer side of town with the pastors kids/my boy/friends from church
~I will graduate high school
~I'll go to college in Wales,UK to have the credentials to become a marine ecologist
~I'll have a successful youtube channel where I talk about wildlife conservation and zero waste living as well as video game play thrus
~I'll learn/know a lot of different languages including, ASL, Gaelic, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian
~I can sing well
~I play the ukulele and guitar flawlessly and play in the worship team at church
~Oh, I also will get my church to stop manipulating the congregation in sermons but also during the worship with the music and lyrics and also like {what the church calls~} Weeklong, which is a 3 day camp for the youth 11-25{?maybe 18, but 22/25yo's are there too lol} and they "experience divine encounters with god" but really they're sleep deprived children/teens who are forced into believing their psychotic response to the trauma they're enduring is a "divine encounter" and it's really unhealthy so I wanna fix that so it's more like an actual retreat to meditate and actually learn about the origins of the bible who wrote them who translated and purposefully misinterpreted them to push a political propaganda and also to allow the teens to explore their spirituality and ask questions from certified adults who have more experience in certain practices {damn that was long!}
That's all I can think of right now, it's late when I'm typing this so when I remember or think of other things I'll come back and add to this!!

Earth-Friendly Witchcraft
Tumblr media
Whatever religious or spiritual tradition they identify with, most witches agree that there is something sacred about the natural world. We draw our power from the earth beneath our feet, the sky over our heads, and the air in our lungs.
And yet, many of us live in societies that are actively contributing to the destruction of the natural world. Most developed nations have a linear economy, which means resources are extracted and then sent on a one-way trip to consumers who will use them and then throw them away. This leads to overflowing landfills, air and water pollution, and quickly disappearing resources. The World Economic Forum predicts that, if our habits don’t change, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. And I dearly hope that by now we’re all familiar with the reality of climate change and its devastating impact on global ecosystems.
I’m not trying to scare you, but I do want to point out the hypocrisy of drawing power from the Earth in our magic while simultaneously contributing to her destruction. If we truly want to consider ourselves spiritual allies of the planet, we need to make an effort to live our lives — and practice our magic — in ways that are less harmful to her.
You don’t have to become an environmentalist or switch to a zero waste lifestyle, but we can all make little changes for a more sustainable life. There’s lots of information out there about how to live a more Earth-friendly lifestyle, so in this post I’ll be focusing on how to apply that same philosophy to your witchcraft.
Steps to a more Earth-Friendly Practice:
Limiting your consumption will automatically lower your negative impact on the planet. Follow my previous guidelines for avoiding consumerism to start shrinking your carbon footprint.
Avoid plastic as much as possible. According to the WEF, 70% of our plastic ends up in a landfill or in the world’s waterways, and according to Julia Watkins, author of Simply Living Well, only 9% of household plastics get recycled. Plastic (unlike glass and metal) cannot be recycled indefinitely — it can only be recycled a handful of times before it becomes too degraded to be repurposed any further. There really is no way to make plastic safer for the planet, so it’s best to just avoid it altogether. Look for tools made of metal, wood, or glass instead of plastics, and try to order things shipped in paper and cardboard when possible.
Create spells that won’t leave leftovers. One of the big contributing factors to our current environmental crisis is that we just produce too much waste. You can avoid this in your magical practice by crafting spells that won’t leave you throwing away a big ball of candle wax, herbs, and paper. Kitchen magic is a no-brainer for this, since kitchen spells are meant to be eaten. If you want to do a candle spell, use small candles that will burn up completely — I find larger candles are more likely to leave leftover wax. Making magical bath salts is another great option for leftover-free spells — just make sure everything you include is safe to go down the drain and won’t contribute to water pollution!
Forage for your own spell materials. One of the best ways to avoid plastic packaging and cut down on emissions from shipping is to use materials from your backyard! Learn about the plants, animals, and minerals native to your area, and take regular nature walks where you can gather what you need. Remember to only take as much as you need and to be careful never to damage the plants you harvest from. Make sure to carefully disinfect any animals bits you pick up — you can do this by burying them in salt for a full moon cycle and/or setting them in the sun/under a UV light for several days. If you find a dead animal and want to strip and clean its bones for use in ritual, this is a much more involved process and will require special research, equipment, and lots of time. And, of course, never eat anything you have foraged unless you happen to have an advanced degree in botany.
Keep a magical garden. Another great way to connect with the planet and shrink your carbon footprint is to grow your own herbs, vegetables, and fruits. You can, of course, grow food for your kitchen if you have space, but even if you live in a tiny apartment you can grow a handful of magical herbs in pots. For a list of common houseplants and their magical associations, check out this post.
Shop for spell materials at a local farmer’s market. Buying local is a great way to avoid the environmental impact of shipping produce, and it allows you to support small farms. Farmer’s markets also typically carry seasonal produce, which can help you align your magical practice with the cycles of nature. Farmer’s markets are a great way to find seasonal fruits and vegetables for kitchen magic, but you can use the produce you find there for other types of spells as well.
Trade paraffin wax candles for beeswax or soy wax. Paraffin, the material used for most cheap candles, is a by-product of crude oil, which is not only highly unsustainable but contains carcinogens (chemicals that may cause cancer). Beeswax is a sustainable alternative, and beeswax candles produce a “clean” burn, meaning it does not negatively affect air quality. Soy wax is a slightly pricier, vegan-friendly sustainable option that also produces a clean burn.
Use undyed, unbleached paper for your written spells. The bleaches and dyes used in most commercially available paper have a toxic effect on the environment. Colored paper cannot be recycled or composted because it will contaminate everything it touches. Use plain, unbleached paper for your written spells, especially if you plan to bury them in the ground or dispose of them outside.
Make sure your essential oils are ethically harvested. Essential oils are tricky — although they are marketed as natural, many of them are produced through unsustainable methods. Because essential oils are concentrated, it may take thousands of pounds of plants to produce a single pound of oil. This can have a devastating impact, especially for endangered plants like white sage or palo santo. Look for ethically-sourced, wild-harvested essential oils — these are oils that are gathered from the wild in ways that don’t hurt the local ecosystem. Mountain Rose Herbs and Eden’s Garden are two brands that are committed to sustainable essential oil production.
Instead of burying a spell in a jar, bury it in a hollowed-out fruit or vegetable. Many traditions call for spells to be buried in the ground. Items like jar spells and witch bottles are traditionally buried on the witch’s property. The problem with this is that plastic and glass bottles do not biodegrade, and will remain in the ground for years. Instead of putting these materials in the ground, bury your spells in a hollowed-out fruit or vegetable. As a bonus, you can choose this item to support your intention. For example, you might use an apple for a love spell or a spicy pepper for protection. Just make sure everything inside the spell is also biodegradable!
Keep a compost pile as an offering to your local land spirits. Compost is an easy way to reduce food waste, and it gives your garden a boost! Even if you don’t have your own garden, you can give your compost to a fiend who does or look into donating it to a community garden. When composting, it’s important to maintain a balance between carbon-rich “brown” ingredients (leaves, undyed paper, cardboard, etc.) and nitrogen-rich “greens” (fruit and veggie scraps, coffee grounds, egg shells, etc.) — you want about four times as much brown as green in your compost. Start your compost with a layer of brown — preferably twigs or straw to allow good airflow. Alternate layers of green and brown materials as you add to the pile. Every time you add to your compost, verbally express your gratitude to the land spirits. Your compost should be moist, but not soggy — you’ll know it’s ready when it’s dark and crumbly and smells like soil.
Make your own tea blends with loose herbs and a reusable tea strainer instead of buying teabags. Witches and tea go together like peanut butter and chocolate, but the individual wrappers on teabags create a lot of waste. On top of that, since many of these wrappers are dyed, they may not even be recyclable. Keep your teas earth-friendly by buying dried herbs in bulk and blending your own teas. Making your own blends is not only better for the planet, but also allows you to choose each ingredient for a specific magical intention.
Find ways to use your trash in your craft. This one is pretty self-explanatory. Instead of throwing things away, find ways to use them in your magic! Use food scraps from cooking, like carrot greens and potato peels, in spells. Turn an old shoe box into a travel altar. Add your coffee grounds to spells to ground them and manifest results in the physical world. You get the idea. Be creative!
Research different models for Earth-friendly living, like the zero waste/low waste lifestyle, sustainability, and the solarpunk movement. This will give you more ideas for a sustainable lifestyle, as well as a sustainable magical practice.
The funny thing about Earth-friendly living is that, the more time you spend taking care of the planet, the more connected you feel to it. I encourage you to try some of the ideas on this list — you’ll be amazed by how quickly you develop a deeper relationship with the Earth and all her creatures.

on trash
remember your waste in your craft.
remember that there will be remains, and plan for how you’ll take care of them.
we can spend a lifetime on preparation for our craft, but the disposal of our waste deserves equal care.
if we don’t consume the remains of offerings, what would be a way of disposing of the remains that’s respectful and also not wasteful?
what do we do with the ends of our candles?
can a baby practitioner use our old reference books?
what in our practice can move from single-use to reusable? do we really need to buy more?
it’s important, too, to not fall on ableism here. not every practitioner has the same executive function, physical abilities, or mental bandwidth. what may be possible to eliminate for one practitioner may very much not be for another. this is normal.
what’s important is to address the fundamentals of your craft before you address the finer details.

YALL I JUST FOUND THIS OUT AND IM SO EXCITED!!!! YOU CAN USE CANDLE JARS AS CUTE DRINKING CUPS!!!
- clean out the wax with warm water and soap
- remove the label
- BAM A DRINKING CUP
Please make sure its thoroughly cleaned.
It does have to be a drinking mug. It could be a plant pot, spice jar, and pencil jar. YOU LITERALLY MAKE IT INTO ANYTHING!!!
For my witches out there, you can put in died flowers or herbs, MOON WATER (or any type of water you collect for your craft), or a big spell jar. Omg u guys can do so much with it!!!

Anyone have any ideas for upcycling used 7-day candle jars?
You know, those tall skinny ones with no lids.
I could look into refilling them, but I want some options first. Any craft ideas? I prefer that they're useful for more than just like a decoration with string lights in it or something.
Thanks for the help!!

Are you a mind witch? Mental magick is what I’ve been practicing for almost 10 years and has inevitably been zero waste because the work is done mentally and sometimes in writing! (Not my video)
