My two friends and I just found three of your little observers on our busy walk through downtown Vancouver, and we were so happy to find them and find your tumblr. It really amazes us that three of us found three of them, and you’re all the way from Germany. Thank you for impacting our days.
This alone made everything so worth it! It brightens my day (or like my whole week) to hear from someone that found them again. Maybe the three of you can now even spread the joy a bit further and set the figures on the desks of people who would need a little guardian for their day too \(*~*)/

Being back home now, i actually realised that one of the most amazing trips i ever did gave me the once-in-a-lifetime chance to place a total of 54 figures in the cities i visited (San Francisco, San Jose, Vancouver and Toronto) and make people from all around the world a little more happy for some seconds. But other than in my home country, people were more open to approach me, ask me questions or take them right after i set them down. I was glad that most of the questions were just simply answered with a “Of course they are free to take” or a “It’s just an art project” but many wanted to go more in depth of what they were suppose to do/what their purpose is. And after being startled for some seconds the answer was again quite simple: “Brighten your day for a little while.” And i actually think it worked for some...

Overdue project
Maybe it was lazyness or maybe the many thoughts about “if it would be all worth it” that kept me from finally starting with this project wich stayed in the back of my mind for a year now. So i should maybe start with what actually sparked the idea in me again:
“We’re going to conquer the world with one small, random act of kindness at a time”
~ @mishacollins
He wasn’t just a person wich kept me going with his work and actions throughout his lifetime as an inspiration but made me think a lot more about what goes on in other peoples head and keeps then busy. Sadly, i can’t look into them, but i found those certain little moments, in wich people stop thinking about work or the tasks they have to do.
Its that little moment of being caught off guard.
That little moment where we are getting thrown out of our rush, wich we slide into so easily, by something or someone.
Or those little moments that make us forget about the thing wich we are overthinking and we just don’t want to let go at the time.
I first imagined art, the bigger the better, but if you ever scrolled through my artworks, that’s not me most of the time, so i decided to keep it simple and even colourless. And at the end they turned out to be some kind of little guardians or observers, who watch the people walking by. I know because of their outlook it can be rather easy to overlook them, but maybe people would be even more proud if they managed to spot that little guy sitting on a big staircase from ten meters away like a falcon. The bad side is, i can’t see or meet anyone who picks them up and gives them a new home, however these little figures will always be provided with a little luggage-card that brings the new owners to this blog...and if you found one and are reading this post right now:
I would love to see some pictures of their new home or maybe you want to “get to work” yourself and place them somewhere you like (preferably with their little note and the tag #pick-me-up) and let them take their own road. It would be an awesome process for me to see them travel wherever you like, may it be your favorite street, cafe or country.
(Above all i’m planning to visit the USA and Canada to spread them as far as possible and suprise as many people, wich may currently be hung up in their daily rush or just generally overthinking stuff)
But for now i will start to place them in Stuttgart, Germany where it all started with a small thought of mine: Yep...that stone staircase...the big one next to the library. It totally looks empty and the people bored. I need to do something about it...whatever it is...
