Finally can put this bad boy to rest! This is the second part of my submission to this year’s RISD assignment! (Application approval pending) This took the better part of four months to make, and I’m so proud of the result!

 For some context: Saoirse and Odavacar (aka Odd) are two of the main protags of my home-brew universe, Shifters. This animatic is meant as a character study of Odd and Saoirse. Here, I'm trying to explore their relationship as friends and maybe something more.

 In terms of the assignment: I chose ephemeral and tangible as my word pair. Mainly, I wanted to explore relationships. As a concept, relationships are both ephemeral and tangible. It takes real, honest work to keep any sort of relationship alive - especially romantic ones. Hand-holding, dates, long walks on the beach, etc. are all things that are real and tangible - they can be felt with the senses. However, relationships also need emotion, feeling - things that are ephemeral - to sustain itself, because without that, there is no relationship. We are asked to show the two words in conversation, and the relationship is the conversation - it takes both ephemeral and tangible concepts working together to make a relationship happen.
