Since you mentioned L liking Pokémon in the Matsuda Interview, what do you think L's Pokémon team would look like if he were a trainer/gym leader? Also if the Death Note cast were gym leaders, what types do you think they would specialize in? I'm tempted to say L is Dark, Light is Dragon (Kira is Poison?), Misa is Fairy, and Matsuda is Normal, but idk.

TYPE SPECIALISATION

hate to say it because I want to give him one of my favourite types (dark, dragon, water, ice) but he's a fairy type. he's a fairy type all the way. he loves how pink and fluffy and sweet-like they are.

MAIN: Fairy

SUPPLEMENTAL: Psychic, Grass, Ghost

TEAM

Gardevoir: Psychic / Fairy

Gardevoir form strong bonds with their Trainer and will do anything to protect them. L needs someone to look after him. In addition, Psychic types are generally known for their intelligence, and Gardevoir is a strong Pokémon. A good choice all around!

Mimikyu: Ghost / Fairy

It's kind of like an adorable toy! L is oddly fond of such things because they remind him of childhood, which he never really had. Also it likes the dark and wears a mask to hide from the world, so that's basically like L pftahhahjhahassja

Milcery: Fairy

This is a floating blob of cream! Can you imagine a more delicious wonderful Pokémon?! Milcery also brings good luck to bakeries, which L likes because he wants the places he likes to prosper. In addition, it evolves into Alcremie, which gives its Trainer sweets! L can't wait.

Shiinotic: Grass / Fairy

This Pokémon send people to sleep, which L is very grateful for as it helps override his insomnia. It also makes defeating other Pokémon easy, and L's lazy in ways like these. He likes to get fights over with quickly. I don't think he joins tournaments or anything.

Swirlix: Fairy

L wanted to catch this Pokémon because it smells and looks like cotton candy. Unfortunately, all it does is make him hungry, and Swirlix itself also likes eating lots of sweets... However, L forms strong bonds with all his Pokémon so he'd just buy more sweets lmao.

Clefairy: Fairy

Clefairy is the epitome of a Fairy type! Pink, cute and caring. It's also popular but hard to find, which makes L pretty proud of himself. But the real reason he caught it was because he was sick and thought it was an escaped Chansey...

LIGHT 🖋️

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I thought Light's was easy, then I started thinking and I was tossing up between adding Dragon, Dark or Psychic. HAHSJHAHA your Poison note was my favourite, it suits. Some of these Pokémon are more Light-y, some are more Kira-y.

MAIN: Fire

SUPPLEMENTAL: Poison, Steel, Fighting

TEAM

Salazzle: Poison / Fire

This uses poisonous gas to manipulate people into being its slaves... Replace poisonous gas with poisonous words and that sounds familiar. Plus, Light probably liked the look in its eyes HDHAHDHDH

Arcanine: Fire

A strong, loyal and all around awesome fire Pokémon. Arcanine is also often used by Officer Jenny as a police dog, and I think Light would subconsciously align himself with the law by doing this, because he sees himself as law and justice.

Combusken: Fire / Fighting

Light got this guy as a Torchic, for his starter Pokémon, and is actually fond of it. It's his family. I think he'd really like chickens for some reason, maybe cause of the chicken and egg thing... Anyway, he likes how it uses its legs to fight (maybe he's associating it with someone...).

Iron Moth: Fire / Poison

Even though it's more space and UFO-ish, there's something about it matching records in an old book and observing humanity that reminds me of a Shinigami. So I thought this Pokémon would be oddly fitting for Light, thought I can't imagine how he caught it considering “no records exist of this species being caught”...

Heatran: Fire / Steel

IT LIVES IN A VOLCANO!! Light was definitely super into volcanoes as a kid (couldn't be me lol) so he'd probably make it his personal mission to catch and befriend one of these guys. They're magma and can climb on ceilings and walls.. pretty cool hehe

Sneasler: Fighting / Poison

It's kind of like an evil-looking Meowth, huh? It's poisonous and strong and likes to live alone. Light can respect that (but at the same time went to capture one... not very Loner of him). He would also like mountains.

I got lazy and only did flats, but there's a small art thing for the other characters at the end

MISA 💝

TYPE SPECIALISATION

Fairy would have worked, but I think Misa would go with the basic cute Pokémon, plus a couple of dark ones. like in canon: she's not goth (I believe that's the style) but sometimes dresses like it.

SUPPLEMENTAL: Electric, Flying, Dark

Furret: Normal

I think one of Misa's main criteria when catching a Pokémon is cuteness. They have Pokémon fashion shows, iirc, which would be Misa's thing. Anyway, this is a cute, nimble Pokémon and it can move through small spaces, which is surprisingly useful for Misa.

Oricorio (Pom-Pom): Electric / Flying

I have an Oricorio card and it's surprisingly strong!! It looks cute and has like 60HP but can deal 100 damage which seems Misa-ish. She also loves that this type's feathers match her hair. And the bird thing matches with Light's chicken thing.

Eevee: Normal

do I need to explain this...

brain says yes I do. she's a little bit basic when it comes to liking cute Pokémon, so Eevee was a must! She hopes it evolves into a Sylveon, but it's probably gonna become a Jolteon lmao

Ditto: Normal

It's cute and versatile! Though it has a really bad sense of humour and laughs at lots of things.. I think Misa would default to having it as a Stufful. I was going to give her a Stufful actually but it was the wrong type djjdjf.

Morpeko: Electric / Dark

Misa thinks this thing is adorable and appreciates that it has a darker side. She also finds it super cute when it's eating, which is lucky, considering its reaction to hunger. That said, she kind of loves how troublesome it is when it's hungry...

Bombirdier: Flying / Dark

Misa thinks this is a very elegant Pokémon, and caught it expecting refinement. However, it just drops things everywhere... Things that make loud noises... Misa jumps every time.

MATSUDA 🦆

TYPE SPECIALISATION

His was a little funny to figure out. Oddly enough, I really don't think he'd be normal, so I went full nature version. Water and earth and all. Honestly he probably catches Pokémon regardless of type, just tends to hang out in these types' habitats more.

MAIN: Water

SUPPLEMENTAL: Grass, Rock, Bug

TEAM:

Wartortle: Water

Because of course he picked Squirtle for his starter Pokémon (affectionately). Matsu loves this fella and appreciates its much-needed wisdom. Apparently Wartortle's very old. I don't know how Pokémon time works, but I feel like Matsu would love old things, animals, people...

Swadloon: Bug / Grass

This is in my opinion one of the funniest and cutest looking Pokémon ever and something about it was so Matsuda-ish. He would also love that it helps the ecosystem, and though he felt bad about taming it he really wanted to be friends!!

Magikarp: Water

Matsuda caught one of these guys because L always said they reminded him of Matsuda. He's a little sad that L sees him as “the most pathetic useless Pokémon ever” but at least it's pretty darn cute and has lots of potential (evolution wise), right?

Omanyte: Rock / Water

It's been restored from an ancient species, and Matsuda probably has an interest in archaeology or something so he finds that cool. Plus, they're being released into the wild too much and becoming a problem. He thinks they're kinda like cute squids.

Shuckle: Bug / Rock

SHUCKLE!!! There's something inexplicable about this Pokémon. All it really does is protect itself and hide under a rock, but there's a je ne sais quoi about it. Matsuda is a big fan. It also likes berries and looks a little like a dinosaur.

Lombre: Water / Grass

A nocturnal Pokémon that sleeps on river grass. To be honest, Matsuda probably caught it by accident (if anyone can do that, Matsuda can) one day and just shrugged, said "new friend!" and moved right on.

RIE 🥀

mwahaha or something.

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I kept changing her types because the first batch the Pokémon didn't fit and the second batch were too similar to L and Misa. I kept Psychic and Dragon the whole way through, which is why the first four only have one type.

MAIN: Psychic

SUPPLEMENTAL: Dragon, Ice, Bug

Dragonair: Dragon

An angelic and peaceful Pokémon that can change the weather! Plus, Dragonair seems very majestic and beautiful. Rie caught it as a Dratini and this is the Pokémon that has been with her the longest, apart from her starter Pokémon of course.

Espeon: Psychic

Rie loves Espeon a lot and was surprised when her Eevee didn't evolve to Sylveon! She probably prefers Espeon for its intelligence and ability to predict other Pokémon. Rie calls it a Poké-Pyschologist even though it deduces actions by physical matters, not psychological.

Goodra: Dragon

It loves the rain and tbh who doesn't? Rie is more the type to sit inside with a warm drink and look out the windows than stand in the rain, though. She also finds Goodra cute and calm, though it does go to 100% when angry... Huh, kinda Rie-ish.

Alakazam: Psychic

Intelligence is a quality Rie needs in her life, or she gets incredibly bored. So of course a Pokémon that remembers everything is on her wavelength. Plus, it looks like it knows magic tricks. (It doesn't. It's close to hitting Rie the next time she asks how to cheat better at cards.)

Snom: Ice / Bug

I discovered this Pokémon while scrolling through the Pokédex for this project and it's my favourite now, so I had to give it to my favourite OC. Rie loves the snow and ice, more than the rain, and this cute little blue porcupine-y thing is “just so perfect.”

Rabsca: Bug / Psychic

She doesn't talk about it because it makes working in a male-dominated field harder, but Rie really wants to be a mother. And canonically, this Pokémon is always caring for an infant! Rie also likes how colourful (poisonous even) and dignified it looks.

(bonus) Kyurem: Dragon / Ice

It's a bonus because Rie wouldn't have it on her team, but if she were to catch a legendary it'd be this guy. Fits with her types and is waiting for a Trainer to fill it with “truth and ideals,” according to the official Pokédex.

TSSM Pokemon Au Part 2

I watched some Pokemon videos and decided to give TSSM characters Pokemon for fun! This is also going off of @hermesserpent-stuff ‘s Spider Nephew Au. Also, there might be some people with the same Pokemon for different reasons; either they fit two people, or it’s to match with someone. I also base some of these Pokemon in different ways, from types, aesthetics, Pokedex Entries, jobs, powers, and backstories. I also won’t mind explaining my reasoning because I did a lot of research for them. Also, I tried o make sure they had diverse types, but some people might have more than 1 of the same type. Another thing is that I like to imagine that Peter and the other villains have some Pokemon for their civilian image and then the others for their hero/villain work.

The last thing is that I have only played up to Generation 8, and I have yet to play the other games. So my bad, if there is another Pokemon that suits them better.(let me know plz)

I will highlight their starter and their strongest. Red is their strongest, and blue is their starter. Purple is both. Any that has a * are their secret team.

Montana’s first Pokemon was a Torchic he hatched from an egg when he started helping the ranch. His family ranch had a lot of Pokemon, but if he managed to gain their trust and do a good job, he could keep them. These Pokemon were Wooloo, Skiddo, and Mudburay. He found Rockruff as a stray and was injured. He helped heal it and took a long while to get its trust, but he managed to befriend it and kept it. He kept his team in the Enforcers until he got his Shocker outfit. He was given a Noibat to go along with it. Another Pokemon that he had to tame, but he was already used to it.

His starter was a Treecko that he got when he was younger. However, he wanted to learn how to fight better and started training in abandoned areas. A Sawk and a Throh watched him and decided to help him train. There was a moment when he was interested in Pokemon that had different color variations and wanted one. He caught a Scatterbug and was excited to see what colors it would have. Somehow he got one of the rare variants, Fancy. Later on, as an Enforcer, he caught a Noctowl as a lookout. When he got his Ricochet suit, he was given a Croagunk to evolve into a Toxicroak.

Ox’s starter was a Mudkip he found by a pond. Later on, he found a Rattata in his home. No one really knows he got his other Pokemon, but they assume he caught them before becoming an Enforcer, except for Conkeldurr. They only know he easily befriended them (Disney Princess over here). He got Gurdurr when he got his suit.

Chatot (Normal/Flying)

Quentin’s first Pokemon was a Kricketot, and he loved to make scenes with Kricketot making music or sound effects for his scenes. He then got a Chatot to teach it lines for other scenes. It was the only two had for a while until turning into crime. He caught a Mimikyu as he was hiding in a theater as it was pretending it was performing since one of the last performances on that stage had a Pikachu as the main character. When working with Chameleon, they both decided to get a Zorark since it’s the perfect Pokemon for both. When Cameleon wanted to pretend to be Spiderman, he told Quentin to catch a spider Pokemon for him. They only found a Dewpider, which was fine for Cameleon at the time. When they were defeated, Chameleon didn’t want it anymore and told Quentin to release it. However, Quentin was already fond of it and decided to keep it. While trying to figure out a design for Mysterio, he looked at Dewspider and got the idea of the glass helmet. Later he got a Hypno to make people and Pokemon go to sleep. Dewspider does evolve to Araunid when Quentin becomes Mysterio.

Farfetch’d (Normal/Flying)

He wasn’t really into Pokemon when he was younger. When he was about 18, he caught a Farfeth’d just because people bothered him. However, he got along very well with it (Quentin says they act exactly like each other). He found a Shinx in an alleyway and took care of it. When he was working on a project, it wasn’t working properly until Shinx charged it. Tink then decided to catch more Pokemon for certain jobs to help him. These were Klink and Abra. Then he heard interesting Pokemon that he wanted to do some research on Porygon and Elyem. When he started working with Quentin, he was gifted a Tinkatink as a joke (They are both Tinks). However, when it evolved, Tinkaton helped with some of the heavier work that Tink couldn’t do and appreciated it.

Extra: Tinkatink was barely hatched when given to Tink, and Quentin managed to get his hands on one because someone was giving eggs for free since they had too many.

Peter and his Pokemon like taking naps with Dubwool for how fluffy and warm it is.

Eevee likes to play fight with Lycanroc.

Blaziken, Sceptile, and Swampert get along better than the rest since they take after their owner a lot.

Quentin’s Pokemon will literally imitate him in different ways. With Chatot repeated what he said and moved his wings with him. Or Zorark turning into him and posing like him. Also, they are all very dramatic.

Luxray is Quetin’s comfort Pokemon if something happens to him. It will be the first one running to him to curl up.

About Me: Favorite Pokemon

Pokemon is a series very near and dear to my heart. From my early experiences watching the anime and playing the card game to staying up all night in the hospital playing Pokemon Crystal to getting my first-ever game of my own (Sapphire) and picking my first starter (Torchic), I just have an endless stream of positive memories of this franchise.

Of course, most of the positive memories wouldn’t be half as good without all the Pokémon I befriended along the way. There’s over a thousand of these creatures now and while I don’t think any Pokémon is bad, I’ve obviously come to like some more than other. That’s what this list is for.

Unfortunately, due to the image limit on posts I had to cut this list down from 50 to 30 so that there wouldn’t be twenty boring blank spaces like I had to do with my video game list. A lack of pictures there is whatever, but when I can’t showcase the designs of the critters I’m talking about, there’s a big issue. This means there’s a lot of honorable mentions: Klefki, Jynx, Slither Wing, Lapras, Garbodor, Lunala, every single Eeveelution, Armaldo, Farfetch'd, Sirfetch'd, Ditto, Pheromosa, Buzzwole, Mew, Xurkitree, Lucario, Gimmighoul, Zoroark, Claydol, Walking Wake, Rotom, Porygon2, Chien-Pao, Iron Thorns, Sceptile, Gallade, Togekiss, Spiritomb, Grimmsnarl, Mimikyu, Scrafty, Sigilyph, Zacian, Florges, Eternal Flower Floette, Lilligant, Bisharp, Kingambit, Wishiwashi, Tatsugiri, Bronzong, Rayquaza, Dracovish, Hydreigon, Blacephalon, and Dracozolt. Yeah, there's a thousand of these, so narrowing down my favorites is no easy task.

30. Unown

Unown is probably one of the most worthless Pokemon when it comes to battling seeing as they only know Hidden Power and have pitiful stats (partly because their attacking stats are still spread as if the physical/special split never happened), but I lfind their overall suckiness kind of endearing. I like the weird concept behind them being living hieroglyphs, and the mysteries surrounding them really make me wish they were utilized more in the stories of the games. I'm not asking for them to be as badass as they were in the Entei movie, but come on, throw these guys a bone!

29. Qwilfish

One of the absurdly rare joke Pokemon of Gen II, Qwilfish wasn't one I thought of very often... that is until I got one over the GTS back in the DS days. She was a shiny, her name was Butt Bomb, and her OT was Bakura. Ever since I got her, I have always loved this stupid mine/blowfish hybrid, and I was absolutely elated to find out it got a badass evolution in Overqwil when Pokemon Legends Arceus came out.

28. Sneasler

Speaking of Arceus, I have to say that Sneasler is my favorite Hisuian evolution. I've always loved Sneasel, especially since one in LeafGreen ended up becoming one of my first ever level 100 Pokemon in that game. I kind of didn't like that it lost so much Sneasel-ness upon evolving into Weavile, but Sneasler certainly fixes that problem. It's all right there in the name, where the original is Sneasel, this one is even Sneasler. More Sneasel, less problems.

27. Meowstic

These weird little Psychic cats are just a lot of fun, and I honestly like them more than their more iconic pre-evolutions. Gen VI gets a lot of flak, especially considering how few Pokemon it introduced, but considering it brought this sexually dimorphic extrasensory feline into existence I'm fine with it. Quality over quantity.

26. Kecleon

It has one of the most clunky gimmicks out there, but I'm still fond of this little chameleon. It's such a fun Pokemon to track down be it in Gen III, their remakes, or even Go, and it is one of the single most terrifying foes you can battle in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I even love its stupid shiny that only changes its stripe.

25. Dudunsparce

After years of fans begging for Dunsparce to finally receive an evolution, one that would be some badass dragon that completely misses the point of Dunsparce's whole joke, Gen IX delivered with... a Dunsparce that has an extra segment in its body. It is genuinely one of the greatest trolls in existence, and the fact there's a special form that's even longer really goes to show that Dunsparce was always perfect and the only thing they could even imagine doing as improvement is giving us more Dunsparce.

24. Alcremie

I love Pokémon with bafflingly cryptic evolution methods, and while Runerigus probably takes the cake in terms of Gen VIII Pokemon, Alcremie quits literally is the cake. The fact you have to decorate it’s pre-evolution, then spin around in a circle with the direction, number of spins, and even time of day affecting the ultimate outcome of what color Alcremie you’ll get. No matter what, the end result is the cutest food-themed Pokémon yet.

23. Shedinja

Finding this Pokémon on my own as a kid was such a fun surprise. The Nincada I’d lovingly raised evolved, but I got not just one evolution but some weird shedded husk? Fucking awesome. Ghost types really have some of the most inventive designs in the whole series, and this one hit point wonder is a shining example of that.

22. Archeops

If there wasn’t an image limit on posts, I could fill up a list with fossil Pokemon as I love almost all of them. But my favorite of them all is definitely this awkward, struggling proto-bird that hits like a truck until it gets too many boo-boos and just gives up. It’s kind of relatable.

21. Iron Valiant

As much as I prefer the Paradox Pokemon in Scarlet to the ones in Violet due to their more wild designs, my favorite Paradox of all is one of the robots. It’s a very unique design among its cybernetic brethren, incorporating elements of both Gardevoir and Gallade into one awesome ‘mon. It’s quite literally the best of both worlds, and the colorless shiny version looks even better.

20. Salazzle

For a series with such a massive furry fandom, it’s honestly pretty impressive they managed to have the restraint to avoid creating a deliberately sexy design for six generations. And when they finally caved in the seventh, they made that design a venomous, fire-breathing succubus salamander. I love this stupid sexy lizard, especially that stunning shiny.

19. Chandelure

Some people hate the Pokémon based on inanimate objects, which I’ve always found stupid; a good chunk of Pokémon are based off of Yokai, and guess what a lot of Yokai are? My favorite of this brand of Pokémon is definitely the killer chandelier ons, another example of how Ghost types get all the coolest designs.

18. Meloetta

Such a simple yet elegant design for this mythical ‘mon. I really wish its gimmick was a bit more useful in combat, but when you look as good as it does it’s forgivable.

17. Milotic

The elegant, defensive counterpart to the rough, offensive Gyarados, Milotic was almost always a bitch and a half to acquire in the older games, but damn if they weren’t worth the effort of fishing up a Feebas!

16. Scizor

How do you make a mantis-velociraptor hybrid monster even cooler? Make it turn into a red steel mantis monster that can dish out and tank hits better than ever. Easily my favorite Pokémon introduced in the

15. Gardevoir

Look, Gardevoir has a bit of a reputation on the internet, but that's not the reason I love it. I've adored it since I was a little kid, playing Sapphire for the first time and adding this pretty Psychic being to my team to help me crush my foes. It's such a beautiful, elegant creature, and contributes a great deal to my overwhelming adoration of the Fairy type after retroactively being given it.

14. Hatterene

Gen VIII got its very own Gardevoir in this beautiful witchy Fairy, but there's a bit of a twist here; where Gardevoir loves and guards its trainer with its life, Hatterene will beat the ever-living shit out of anyone it senses is experiencing strong emotions. It's much more in line with mythical fairies than a lot of its kin, and the fact it's a pretty tough fighter only makes it more appealing to me. Love a girl that's both beautiful and deadly.

13. Roserade

I was always a big fan of Roselia even back as a kid, but I was a bit sad at how it wasn't really a viable fighter. Thankfully, I only needed to wait a single generation for that problem to be solved with a gorgeous evolution. Gen IV really knocked it out of the park with improving old 'mons with great new evolutions, but Roselia got the best of the bunch in my eyes.

12. Tinkaton

This is a Pokemon that just about everyone loves, but how can you not love it? It's a violent little gremlin with a hammer three times as big as its body that loves to antagonize birds by knocking rocks into the sky. The best Fairy Pokemon combine cute designs with those mischievous folkloric fairy antics, and Tinkaton is the best mix of those around.

11. Deoxys

As a kid, I saw a rumor back on the internet saying that if you watched the rockets in Mossdeep City enough times, eventually you'd get to ride one to the moon and battle Deoxys. I laughed this off, thinking this was a fake rumor for a fake Pokemon... and then the movie Destiny Deoxys, one of my favorites of the series, dropped, and I was in that space station every day hoping to go to the moon. I'd have to wait til Gen VI for that dream to be realized, but this bizarre alien virus has always remained one of my favorite Pokemon regardless of how hard to acquire it tends to be.

10. Lurantis

I love how clever it is conceptually; it's a reverse orchid mantis, a plant pretending to be a bug. And it's a very cute plant at that! I don't care if its slow as molasses like nearly every other Alola Pokemon, Lurantis is an absolute cutie and I'm happy it has consistently made the cut even with the Pokedex being trimmed in the newer games.

9. Blaziken

My first ever starter, and one that will always hold a special place in my heart. It's hard not to love an actual fighting cock in a series accused of being superpowered cockfighting.

8. Zeraora

Probably one of the least popular mythical Pokemon out there, but if Zeraora has only one fan, I am that fan. There's just something about its design that really appeals to me, and no, it's not just because I'm a furry.

7. Ceruledge

Ghosts just really have the best designs. A living suit of armor that's also on fire and has flaming ghost swords for hands? Literal perfection.

6. Pyukumuku

Yet another bizarre gimmick Pokemon, in the vein of Shuckle or Wobbuffet as it learns no attacking moves and has pitiful offensive stats in return for sky-high defenses. This little gimmick creature is absurdly adorable compared to those two though, and it fights by barfing up its insides in the form of a giant fist. Plus, it has the best green shiny ever, going from a mere sea cucumber to a sea pickle.

5. Volcarona

Tyranitar and Hydreigon are the Godzilla and Ghidorah of Pokemon, but the trifecta is not complete for that all-out attack without Mothra. Enter Volcarona, the best and most beautiful Bug in the series. It's got absurdly high stats, an incredibly fluffy design, and an absurdly high level requirement to evolve, but boy is it ever worth it.

4. Obstagoon

The only good Gene Simmons ever did for the world is inspire this upgrade for the oft-forgotten Linoone. Of course, much better than its KISS-inspired base color is its shiny alt, which is a garish glam rock/Bowie-esque bright red and blue goon.

3. Meowscarada

I'm usually the type who starts off with a Fire starter, or on rare occasions the Water one. I almost never start with a Grass one... but Scarlet was the exception, because this gorgeous trickster stage magician cat is just too fucking cool to pass up on.

2. Cinderace

God, I love Cinderace. It has such a sleek, cool design that makes it my favorite Fire/Fighting starter despite not even having the Fighting type. It's nimble, acrobatic, and can kick your ass into next Sunday, but it doesn't have that bitch of a type combo despite all signs pointing to it. What a funny bunny.

1. Absol

Absol, and especially its Mega Evolution, are the very best Pokemon to me. I love their design, I love their tragic backstory that over the years has come to acknowledge how the Pokemon has become widely beloved by the fanbase... I trained one up to level 100 back before the Phsyical/Special split, and in those days this thing was next to useless in a fight. That's how deep my love for this Pokemon goes.

You kept your hands firmly in your pockets as you weaved your way between the drug-dealers and the businessmen, keeping your head low as you push past, intent on getting into the battle arena. Castelia City was a city of those who had everything and those who had nothing. In the richer areas, Beauties with their Delcatties and their Froslasses wore expensive coats and suffocated themselves with the gorgeous diamond necklaces that hung from their necks. But in the parts you were in at the moment, you knew Beauties and Gentlemen wouldn’t even come here in their darkest nightmares.

The dingy streets were marred by drug-addicts with wild, reddened eyes that stare straight ahead. You curse yourself for not wearing a bigger coat, but then again, snow wasn’t a regular occurrence at this time of the year. The snow that once fell as small flakes now plummeted to the ground as thick sheets of white, painting the floor an ironic ivory colour. As you reach the arena, the snowfall lets up a little. You knock on the large metal door, checking behind you to check there were no Policemen or members of Team Plasma around. You were thankful that even Team Plasma’s reach didn’t extend to here, especially because of the trainers that flocked here from far-flung regions. Johto, Sinnoh, Alola, even places you hadn’t heard of.

You had frequented this arena for a little while now, although you yourself never really battled. It was only when you were convinced by your flatmate Renjun to showcase your talents did your popularity shoot up. You enjoyed the battles, even if the people you were put against weren’t as strong as you were. There really was nothing quite like the rush you got from a Pokémon battle. It didn’t matter whether you were a Youngster or a Gentleman, the thrill of a Pokémon battle never failed to have everyone up and cheering. Watching battles unfold, watching trainers hash it out until one of them comes out on top became the sport of your choice.

It hadn’t always been like that, however.

When you were younger, you were terrified of anything and everything. The thought that there were creatures out there who would attack you at any given opportunity scared you senseless. For that reason, you only ever left the house with your mother and her Pokémon.

That was until Haechan came along. You can still remember the day he knocked on your door, having found out there was someone the same age as him living in the tiny town of Littleroot in Hoenn. Despite him being unable to hide his disappointment at the fact you were a girl, he still helped you get over your fears of Pokémon. It was him that convinced Professor Birch to give you both a starter Pokémon. It was him who made you want to be a strong trainer. You weren’t sure if it was jealousy of Haechan’s carefree nature, or if it was the little crush you had on the boy, but he made you want to be better.

Professor Birch made a fitting choice when choosing yours’ and Haechan’s starter Pokémon. He gave Haechan a very self-assured Torchic. Much like its new trainer, Torchic lit up every room it went into with its infectious enthusiasm. Although sometimes it tended to get a bit too excited, and he did end up lighting up the room. Literally.

You had to admit, at first you were immensely jealous of Haechan. You had seen a picture of Torchic in a magazine and you had decided that you wanted that to be your starter Pokémon. But Professor Birch had other plans. He handed you a PokéBall and you pressed the centre. The creature that was released looked like a crude Pikachu, and you immediately thought Professor Birch was playing a practical joke on you, giving you a poorly-manufactured recreation of the Pokémon he knew you loved so much only to laugh in your face when he saw your expression.

“Your Pokémon, Y/N, is one that needs a little more love in order for it to grow. Mimikyu is used to being an outcast and will take time to warm up to you. It hails all the way from Alola. I went to great lengths to catch this Pokémon and have been waiting for the right person to train her. I couldn’t think of anyone better than you. Mimikyu has the potential to become incredibly powerful, as do you.” Your eyes travelled down to the creature in front of you.

The Pokémon was small, its body almost completely hidden beneath a rag. Its beady, black eyes pierced through you from two holes in the middle of the cloth, but for some reason you weren’t scared of it, quite rather the opposite. You were intrigued, and a sense of calm washed over you in the presence of this Pokémon that would be sure to terrify anyone else. The rag had been drawn on with what looked like crayons, black eyes, red cheeks and a squiggly black mouth that was curves slightly upwards in a twisted smile that resembled Pikachu.

“Mimikyu is weakened by sunlight. From what the Alolan professor told me, it’s thought that its disguise is modelled after Pikachu because of Pikachu’s popularity.” Your heart sank. All this Pokémon wanted was to be loved. All at once, you felt a strong desire to protect her, to nurture her. you looked up at Professor Birch with teary eyes and accepted the Pokémon with open arms. When Haechan saw your Mimikyu, he was terrified. But nonetheless, he wanted to test out his Torchic on it.

But despite his best efforts, Mimikyu beat his Torchic. He wiped away tears of frustration from his cheeks and vowed that he would beat you one day. That he would become the strongest of every trainer in Hoenn and have the most powerful Pokémon there were. That week, he disappeared from Littleroot. His mother said that he had screamed something about becoming a strong trainer so he could beat you. That spurred you on to do the same.

That was seven years ago. Now, you watched Haechan battling in Castelia City’s underground arena, one of the only battling grounds that you had yet to conquer. You had exhausted all of the battle arenas in all of the regions, and Unova was the last one you had to take on. The battle arena was established by Red, the stoic, wordless trainer who hailed from Kanto. He set it up to allow trainers to strengthen their Pokémon by battling others. He placed strict bans on any items, disallowing the use of Potions and berries, stripping the trainers of the safety net they were so used to. In doing that, however, he managed to separate the weak from the strong.

It had been so long since you had seen Haechan. His Torchic was now a proud Blaziken that stood behind him as he shouted commands at the Pokémon in front of him. He was clearly the audience’s favourite, his enthusiasm and carefree attitude winning him the hearts of every Lass and Beauty sat in the crowd alongside you. He had turned into something of a playboy, partying with any gorgeous woman who threw herself at his feet. With a simple smirk, he could have any girl on her knees for him. He knew he was the shit and he wore that badge with pride.

The crowd gave a roar as the young woman fell to her knees, eyes brimming with tears at her defeat at the hands of her opponent. She returns her fainted Pokémon into the Pokéball, her head hanging in shame as tears formed in her eyes. A part of you felt bad for her. She was still young, only around fourteen. It became apparent as soon as she entered the battle arena that her nerves were getting the better of her. She appeared incredibly self-conscious, hunching her shoulders and cupping her elbow, never looking directly at the camera that displayed her every expression on large flat-screen televisions that hung from the ceiling. Haechan was ruthless when he battled. He didn’t care if they were young. He would battle fiercely and without relent, often making his younger opponents cry.

“Ouch! It looks like Ryujin’s last Pokémon, Infernape, was defeated easily by our ruling Champion, Haechan’s Greninja!” Your eyes flick to the young man who stood on the far side of the battle arena. He wore a confident smirk on his face, clearly triumphant at a battle that, from his perspective, was much too easy. There were cries of outrage from his opponent’s supporters, claiming that he had battled dirty.

But those were the rules in Castelia City’s illegal battling grounds: The only way to win is if you battle dirty. Training your Pokémon and building your friendship was one thing, but choosing to pick on the weaker trainers was something that moved you up quickly.

And that was what you did. You had quietly moved your way up the ranks, strengthening your Pokémon until you knew they would take down the Champion’s Pokémon without even so much as breaking a sweat. You had watched all of his battles and you knew his Pokémon inside out. Haechan was a very well-rounded Trainer. You and he had set out from Littleroot Town in Hoenn when you were eleven years old, him with his Torchic and you with your Mimikyu. While Haechan was merely interested in becoming the best of the best with the strongest Pokémon, you were focused on building your collection of gym badges until you had collected one from each city in each region, going on to beat the Elite Four in each of the regions.

“Is there someone out there who wants to challenge me?” Haechan’s voice rang through the silent battle arena. You remained silent for a couple of seconds as Haechan looked around the arena, basking in the shocked silence that descended. A little while later, you took the chance to speak up. You adjust your hood and stand, ignoring the incredulous gazes and echoes of whispering that flit around the arena.

“How about me?” You lazily raise your hand above your head. You move from your seat and place your hands into your coat pockets. The people around you turn to stare, and you can’t help but let your heart pound a little. You walk down into the arena, keeping your face as hidden as you could by way of the hood. You meet Haechan’s eye when you step into the arena, and the expression of shock on his face when he registers that you’re the one who challenged him was unmatched. He covers his shock quickly by his signature smirk.

“With pleasure. But don’t go crying to your mum when I inevitably beat the crap out you.” You make your way down into the trainer’s box, followed closely by your Mimikyu. Haechan looks you up and down, and you felt your heart flutter. He had changed a lot since you last saw him several years ago, his facial structure became more defined, his once jet-black hair now a cool grey. His skin was still the same smooth honey colour, and that same enthusiasm and joy was in his eyes. Your eyes wandered to his companion Pokémon. Blaziken was significantly taller than his trainer and stood behind him in a stance similar to that of a bodyguard.

“This should be interesting!” The announcer’s voice booms over the speakers.

“Our reigning Champion is being challenged by an unnamed trainer! Rules are the same. The only time you can switch out a Pokémon is if the other’s faints. You’ll be booted if you use any items. But other than that, let’s make this an adrenaline-fuelled battle!” A small smirk forms on your lips as you saunter over to the Trainer stand. You place a hand in the pocket of your coat, hand wrapping around your first Pokéball.

“Blaziken, you know what to do.” His voice was calm, any sign of distraction removed from his facial expression. His companion Pokémon steps into the ring, eliciting a cheer from the crowd. You bite down on your lip to stop yourself from smiling. His tactics are still the same.

You throw out your own Pokéball, Milotic jumping out. An expression of worry flicks over Haechan’s face as he realises the type advantage of your Pokémon over his, and at the realisation that he can’t switch his Pokémon out. He widened his stance and leaned slightly forward, completely focused. In contrast, you lean back, making sure to keep your face hidden from the camera.

Your Milotic looks back at you, giving a small nod of her head when she does so. She turns back to stare down Haechan’s companion Pokémon, who appears to relax when Milotic looks at him. The crowds cheering appears to quieten a little too. You knew that was Milotic’s ability, to emit soothing frequencies to calm both animals and Pokémon. You had trained her to lull the opponents’ Pokémon into a false sense of security before unleashing powerful moves that give them no indication that they’re in danger.

“Milotic, use Hydro Pump.” Blaziken has no time to react as he’s hit by the powerful jet of water from Milotic’s mouth, forcing him several steps backward. After just one of Milotic’s moves, Blaziken falls to the ground, unconscious. You adjust your hood, pulling it over your head again to ensure no one but Haechan saw your face.

Pin-drop silence followed the echoing of Blaziken hitting the floor with a thud. Then a couple of seconds later, the announcer pipes up, shock and amazement prevalent in his voice.

“Milotic took Blaziken down in one hit?!” Cheers erupt from the audience, shaking the ground. A small smirk forms on your face as Haechan returns his prized companion to its Pokéball. He looks up at you with dark eyes, admiration and jealousy prevalent in them. He simply chuckles and fishes another Pokéball from his pocket. He throws it into the centre and out jumps his Aerodactyl.

“Milotic, use Hydro Pump.” Again, Haechan’s Pokémon was taken down in one hit. This happened again and again until he sent out Dragalge. Your hand delves into the pocket of your overcoat and feels for the familiar bumps of the Master Ball you had used to catch your secret weapon. You withdrew your exhausted Milotic and threw the Master Ball out into the arena. Gasps and cheers sounded from the audience, making the corner of your lip quirk up in a smirk.

“A Mewtwo?” Even the announcer was shocked at your Pokémon. Haechan took a step back, eyes fearful, staring in the direction of Mewtwo’s intense gaze. Your rival was gobsmacked. The Y/N he knew was scared of Wurmple and refused to leave Littleroot Town unless he was there with her. The fact that you had managed to take down five of his six Pokémon without batting an eyelid and to achieve a feat like catching Mewtwo was one that he wasn’t expecting.

“Busy admiring Mewtwo, Haechan?” His eyes flit from you to Mewtwo, mouth agape.

“H-How?”

“Cerulean Caves in Kanto. Impressive, don’t you think?” He simply chuckles.

“Let’s get this over with, then. I’ll take down your Mewtwo and all of your Pokémon after that!” His unwavering enthusiasm was infectious.

“Dragalge, use Dragon Pulse!” Dragalge opens its mouth and begins to generate a shockwave. Your fists clench.

“Mewtwo, get out of the way!” Your Pokémon does as you say, dodging the attack with ease. It lands on its feet, skidding a little as it makes contact with the dusty arena floor. Mewtwo didn’t need to look back at you for reassurance, it was confident in its own abilities to take Dragalge down while avoiding excess expenditure of his energy.

“Mewtwo, use Psychic!” Mewtwo closes its eyes and Dragalge is knocked backwards and the dust on the floor is kicked up by the impact of Mewtwo’s move.

The crowd roared in both shock and excitement, but Haechan could only gasp.

“Dragalge?” He called. “Dragalge, are you alright?”

As the dust began to settle, he could see his Pokémon laying on the floor. He fell to his knees and stared at you as you recalled your Mewtwo wordlessly. Then, you turned on your heel and exited the arena, gone as quickly as you had come. Your PokéGear blipped twice.

Your eyes roll. As attractive as you found him, he was dangerous. As the son of Team Plasma’s head, you knew to keep your distance. The two of you became fast friends when you defeated him soon after you had taken on Johto’s Elite Four. He respected you as a trainer and as a person, and for that reason you knew Team Plasma wouldn’t come after your Pokémon. And he was a useful contact, too. The resentment he felt for the things his father had tried to do meant he would leak confidential intel from Team Plasma’s board meetings to you. He had tried convincing members of the Elite Four to help him, he even travelled all the way to Sinnoh to beg Cynthia to help him. To no avail, he returned home, his distaste for his father’s dated views becoming more and more evident as he rebelled against him. He would often run away from his father, and this arena was his safe haven, where he could hide from the prying eyes of Team Plasma.

You ducked out of the stuffy arena, out into the cool night. You take in a deep breath, thankful to be outside in the chilly air. You pull your hood up against the breeze and walk through the streets, back to your apartment, making sure that Mimikyu was by your side each step of the way. You unlock the door, holding it open for Mimikyu. You shut the door and switch on the lights, not expecting the figure of your roommate sitting in the armchair opposite the front door. Your heart gives a lurch when you see the brown-haired boy from Kalos sat in front of you, a stern expression on his normally smiling face. Your eyes wander to his Altaria, perched quietly in the corner.

“Shit, Renjun! You scared the crap out of me.” You clasp your chest and Mimikyu moves in front of you, ready to attack. Altaria gives a start, squawking in alarm at your voice. You quickly bend down to soothe your Mimikyu, patting the Pokémon’s disguise. It turns to you and nuzzles its head into your neck.

“It’s okay, Mimikyu. I’m fine.” Your Pokémon calms down and you stand back up, eyes never leaving Renjun’s.

“You scared me.” He raises a brow.

“You shouldn’t be out this late. Especially with Pokémon that are in such high demand by Team Plasma as yours. Castelia may be a normal city during the day, but it’s still dangerous at night. You need to be careful.” You wave Renjun off and walk into the kitchen.

“I’m serious, Y/N.” He stands up and follows you to the kitchen. You open the fridge door and take out a Poké Puff. You bend down and place it on the floor, before turning away to allow your Mimikyu to eat it. When it’s finished, you pat the top of its head and stand back up to face Renjun.

“I heard from Taeyong that his Roserade was taken by Team Plasma. It wasn't even a commander that stole her, it was a grunt. I don’t know what they’re planning, but their Pokémon have been getting stronger and stronger. I know you like to think you’re untouchable because your Pokémon are that strong and all and because you’re friends with Jeno, but that’s why you need to be more careful. Rarer Pokémon have higher bounties.” Mewtwo. The Master Ball in your pocket jolts a little.

“Kyu?” Mimikyu gives a cry and you both look down at her. She moves towards you and nuzzles against your leg. Renjun looks back up at you and purses his lips.

“You know I’m only saying this because your Pokémon are so rare. I know how much you care for them, and I know how devastating it would be for you if you were to lose any of them.” You feel the Master Ball in your pocket give a jolt, Mewtwo clearly sensing the worry that’s coursing through you. Renjun looks down at the clinking of the Pokéballs in your pocket.

“You need to keep Mewtwo away from the public eye as much as you possibly can, Y/N. If people find out you’re the one who caught Mewtwo, you’ve turned yourself into a moving target for Team Plasma. Because if they find you with the Pokémon you have, you’re pretty much asking them to take them away.” You nod at him and he fills up a glass with water.

“I won’t let them near me. You’ve got nothing to worry about, Renjun. Besides, I got a big winning from defeating Haechan in Castelia’s battle arena tonight.” He spits out his water and coughs, thumping his chest to get rid of the water that had gone down his windpipe by mistake. Mimikyu screeches, dodging the droplets of water that were sprayed from your friend’s mouth.

“Haechan’s here in Castelia?” He manages to get out between coughs and splutters. You nod.

“So that’s why you were so intent on moving here. How did you know Haechan was here?”

“He’s not exactly the most subtle when it comes to underground battling rings, is he? It’s always all over his social media. Won this battle against this Ace Trainer, partied with that Beauty, it doesn't take a genius to figure out where he is.”

“Yeah, but it does take a stalker.” Your mouth falls open in mock offence, a feigned gasp escaping your lips. Renjun chuckles at your expression and Mimikyu nuzzles against your leg again. You stick your tongue out at Renjun and playfully swat at him. Altaria looks on from its perch in the corner of the room and looks away again, evidently unbothered by you and Renjun squabbling in the kitchen.

When you wake the next morning, you hear a loud knocking at your door. You knew it couldn’t be Renjun, he never leaves the house without his keys. It couldn’t be a delivery, either- Renjun would have told you if there was one coming. You get out of bed and put on a hoodie. Heart pounding in your ears, you edge to the door, placing the chain on it. You could feel Mimikyu behind you, clearly sensing your nerves. Your hand reaches for the doorknob and you pull it open, not expecting to see your rival stood in front of you. He looks you up and down and you realise what he’s looking at. Of course you had to fall asleep in a vest top and shorts.

He may be your rival and all, but he did look awful. He was clutching his stomach, and there were evident bruises beginning to flower on his cheekbones, some accompanied by small cuts. There was a long tear in his white t-shirt, and there was even more bruising on the parts of his stomach you could see. His eyes were dark, dull. Like someone had extinguished the fire that was normally behind them.

“Haechan? What…” You tail off. “How did you know where I lived?” He straightens a little, the effort clearly causing him pain. You undo the chain on the door and he moves his hand to lean against the doorframe. He was battered and bruised and you wanted nothing more than to care for the beautiful boy who was stood in your doorway.

“I had Persian follow you home.” You can’t help but let your brows furrow at that.

“Do you-uh… do you want to come in?” He looks up at you and nods. You stand out of the way and Mimikyu lets out a cry at you when you let him in. He limps towards the sofa and Mimikyu follows him closely. You fetch the first-aid kit from your bathroom and take it back into the living room, where Mimikyu is still stood, watching Haechan like a hawk.

“Hey, Mimikyu. It’s fine.” You coo, and your companion soon calms down. Still evidently cautious of Haechan, she follows him, nipping at his ankles as he walks in and sits down on your sofa. You stand awkwardly and look him up and down, just as he did to you. He looked dishevelled, distraught even. That flame of childlike enthusiasm that is usually so prevalent in his eyes is no longer there. You set the first-aid kit down on the coffee table and sit down next to him. He avoids your gaze and takes his bottom lip between his teeth, running his tongue over it as he forms a sentence in his mind.

Then it clicks. You glance around the room and realise his partner is nowhere to be seen.

“Haechan, where are your Pokémon?”

I made Pokémon teams for the Phantom Thieves!!! I decided to make these after me, @ren-amamiyaa, and their followers talked about a Pokémon AU for Persona!!! I decided to try and make my own teams but most the Pokémon I choose were thanks to what was discussed over on Ren’s blog!! But I still have some of my own explanations for most of the Pokémon which I have put under a Read More cuz it’s very long

Akira

Litten - It’s Akira so of course I had to give him a cat and it just so happens that one of the Starter Pokémon was a cat that also evolved into a dark type!! So Litten was a no-brainer!!!

Umbreon - I feel like this one suited him really well plus it was brought up a lot on Ren’s blog so I kinda had to

Yamask - Someone brought up the idea of him having a Yamask cuz it looks like a mask but you choud also say since Akira masks parts of his personality when with most people him having Yamask could be symbolic of that

Alolan Meowth - Cuz cat and also Mona nuff said

Salandit - It’s design reminds me of a thief

Ditto - Akira is able to change his Personas and Ditto is able to transform into other Pokémon so it’s basically the Wild Card of the Pokémon world so it’s only natural he’d have one

Ryuji

Pikachu - I couldn’t pick a Starter that fit him and Pikachu was the Starter you got therefore making it the only electric Starter, so this was a give in also he gets Alolan Raichu cuz I said so

Jolteon - This one just fit him

Blitzle - Fast electric horse for the fast electric runner

Riolu - Since Ryuji also specialises in physical moves I thought he should get some fighting Pokémon too and Riolu was the first one I thought of

Voltorb - Explosive Pokémon to match his recklessness

Machop - The only other fighting Pokémon I could think of when making his but it does kinda suit him

Morgana

Litten - It’s a cat

Meowth - Cat

Alolan Meowth - Kitty

Skitty - Gato

Glameow - Neko

Purrloin - You get the point

Fennekin - I would have give her Litten cuz fire cat but I don’t think the macho wrestler that is Incineroar would have suited her so I gave her Fennekin cuz it’s line is more elegant

Purrloin - Cuz elegant cat

Flareon - It suits her, honestly most of these explanations are just gonna be “It suits them” and also I couldn’t resit giving every Thief except Mona an Eeveelution

Oricorio Baile Style - It’s a fire bird and its aesthetic reminds me of Carmen

Litleo - Cuz it can evolve into Pyroar which is a fire lioness and basically everyone on Ren’s blog said she’d have a Pyroar and they’re right

Ponyta - Very cute fire pony that evolves into a very elegant and kick ass fire horse how could I not give her one

Yusuke

Oshawott - It eventually turns into Samurott which is based on samurai and Goemon is a samurai so it suited him the most

Alolan Vulpix - It’s an ice fox it’s pretty obvious he’d have one

Vanillite - It’s a Pokémon based on food and it’s also an ice type so it’s very fitting

Clauncher - It’s a lobster nuff said

Glaceon - It’s the ice type Eeveelution you know the pattern by now

Smeargle - Do I even need to say it

Makoto

Froakie - It’s the only Starter I could think of that fit her and I even got Ren’s opinion on it and they agreed it fit her so I kept it

Pancham - Cuz she likes Buchi which is a panda also someone suggested she’d name it Buchi-kun

Hitmonchan - It’s a fighting Pokémon that uses its fists and she uses her fists to fight

Buneary - I thought her having a bunny Pokémon would be cute plus Mega Lopunny suits her really well

Stufful - It’s a cute bear that evolves into a even cuter bear but it turns out that bear is strong enough to kill you with just a hug, I think that suits her

Vaporeon - Cuz I couldn’t think of a better Eeveelution plus Ren suggested it

Futaba

Turtwig - I couldn’t think of a better Starter so I just gave her Turtwig which was my first Starter so yeah I’m kinda bias on this one

Rotom - It possesses tech, and she’s good with tech

Voltorb - Cuz of that new All Out Attack she’s getting in P5R!!

Porygon - It’s a computet program, so it fits also if you’re wondering why I didn’t evolve it it’s cuz I saw some sad fan art of them and it broke my heart and I’m still not over it so this one gets an Everstone for now

Octillery - Cuz Necronomicon has octopus tentacles

Haru

Bulbasaur - All the grass Starters suit her but Bulbsaur needs more love and Ren already decreed it

Munna - I don’t it just kinda suited like....aesthetically, you know?

Ralts - Cuz it’s cute and Gardevoir suits Haru perfectly especially it’s Mega Evolution

Budew - Cuz it’s a cute little flower and someone said Roserade would be perfect for her and they’re right

Espeon - She uses psychic moves in the game so it’s natural she’d get the psychic Eeveelution

Leafeon - Grass Eeveeluton cuz she’s a gardener also yes I know she has two Eeveelutions but I’m fine with that

Goro

Piplup - Cuz someone mentioned the fact that it has a royal theme and its Pokédex entries says that it's a very proud Pokémon, it doesn't like to be taken care of, and is difficult to bond with and that suits Goro a lot

Rowlet - Robin Hoot, that’s all I’m gonna say

Torchic - Ok at this point he has 3 Starters but someone said he’d have all the bird Starters and I just think the fact he has 3 kinda fits cuz he could use the fact they’re rare to feel superior to everyone and since that’s how he sees himself it fits and also everyone agreed he’d have a lot of bird Pokémon

Murkrow - Cuz it’s a Crow and his code name is Crow

Mimikyu - It’s a scary Pokémon that dresses like a cute Pokémon so people will love it, Goro puts on a pleasant and charming personality to hide his scary and depressed one so that people will love him

Sylveon - Fairy type is the closest to bless, it completes the fact that every Thief except Mona has an Eeveelution, and it evolves due to friendship and Goro just needs a fucking friend ok?

random question but what pokemon do u think the gang would have?

this is such a hard question because I know so many pokemon and there are so many gang members and so many would be so cute but here’s what I got

I can imagine Susan with a glameow or a purugly! I feel like they fit her aesthetic.

charles has a xatu and I feel like he took in a bidoof. Like nobody else likes it, but he loves it to death. I can also see him favoring pokemon like espeon.

Arthur has a smeargle, and for some reason I imagine him with a torchic too

Karen grew up with a stufful, and it’s her loyal Bewear now!

Micah has a klefkey and he’s super defensive about his little booboo keys. Everyone is like lol its a fairy type and he’s like shut UP! It’s steel too!!

Y’all are gonna hate me for this but Hosea has a Mr. Mime. He’s like a partner in crime for Hosea’s hustling endeavors.

People made fun of Bill when he first got his starly, but it’s a staraptor now, and they have the same angry eyes. He also has a little troublesome togepi because he’s too soft on it and doesn’t discipline it like at all

Dutch likes to think he’s the master where he and his Alakazam are concerned, but the others aren’t so sure

Trelawny has a mocking chatot and a trickster jigglypuff, and all three of them can’t be trusted

Swanson has a gothorita and claims he’s seen celebi, but no one believes him

Strauss has a meowth he got for company and an araquanid He was gifted as a dewpider for protection

Lenny has a rockruff that he dresses in a matching bandana. He also has a pichu that shocks him often, but he still loves it.

Kieran has a ponyta and a spinda, and he always seems to be chasing after one of them

Mary Beth has an espurr and a mimikyu, she strays towards the creepy ones.

Pearson has a lurantis he found as a fomantis. She goes spice foraging for him sometimes.

Sean has a plusle, a minun, and crabrawler, and is under the naive assumption that he is in control of all of them

How does the gang meet?

Ooo!! Yay headcanons!!

Ted and Charlotte meet first, seeing as they reign from the same region. They meet when they both arrive at the lab to receive their first pokemon! Prof.Sycamore is out on a research trip so our traveling Prof.Hidgens steps in to help out the young trainers.

Ted is eager to pick his first Pokemon while Charlotte simply wants to learn more about them questioning Prof.Hidgens. Ted immediately picks a little Froakie, he questions why Charlotte hasn’t picked one.

“I’m not really much of a trainer” She comments, he’s puzzled by this but finds it intriguing.

When Ted is leaving he and his Froakie are having slight trouble communicating, He sees Charlotte approach followed by a gorgeous Sylveon who looks delighted. She kneels down next to the Froakie and almost immediately befriends him.

They hang out a little while before Charlotte is called home due to a Pokemon emergency.

Bill and Emma are next, Its Hoenns day for picking your starter pokemon.

Emma is first in line at the lab and takes some time to talk with the eccentric Prof.Hidgens. He happily answers all her questions while she plays with his Piplup.

Bill is very shy and is stressing over his decision. He’s gone over everything he knows about his three options. (More on this when I describe how they picked their starters). He bumps into Prof.Hidgens and Emma while deep in thought, apologizing over and over before rejoining the line.

Paul had just arrived in Hoenn and is marveling at the new area, he is very exhausted after traveling by boat all day to reach the island and decides to rest in one of the forests. Emma is out looking for Pokemon on a slow day when she encounters a small Bulbasaur.

The pokemon looks unusually frightened and shys away from her. She approaches it slowly with her hand out. She hears a very distressed voice shouting through the forest growing stronger as it approaches. She fears the voice will scare the Pokemon but it seems it recognizes the voice

“Oh, Budo! There you are!” A boy emerges from the shadows, he throws himself at the very excited Bulbasaur who wraps his vines around the boy. The boy becomes aware of the girl’s presence and looks up

“Oh hi.. I’m Paul!” He looks down at his Bulbasaur “Sorry we were resting and I guess we got lost”

“I’m Emma! And your Bulbasaur is very cute” They remain awkwardly silent for a moment before Emma asks the inevitable “So… where are you from? I’m from.. well here!” She exclaims

“I’m from Kanto but I’m traveling all around! I’m not the best trainer but I love Pokemon and think I’m getting better” They discuss for awhile before night falls and they must part ways. Not, however, before Emma offers to help him train and they make plans to meet up tomorrow.

Bill and Paul meet shortly after this. Bill is walking around town reading followed by a very excited Eevee and a sleepy Mudkip lay on his head. Paul is exploring with his Psyduck trying to calm him down, his Bulbasaur following behind.

They bump into each other making the Mudkip fall into Paul who quickly catches it. The Eevee tries its best to intimidate Paul but its just too cute. Paul gets the message and hands the Mudkip back to the boy.

Bill adjusts his glasses “Oh thank you! I apologize, I was very caught up with my reading” He looks towards his Eevee “Sorry about him, he’s very passionate about his friends, I’m Bill by the way” he extends his hands, Paul shakes it firmly.

“I’m Paul” He gestures towards his Bulbasaur and Psyduck “This is Budo and Kincho” Bill’s eyes widen and he kneels down.

“Extraordinary” He whispers in awe. Paul gives him a weird look, Bill quickly resumes his position.

“Sorry, I’ve just never seen one before. He’s very cute and looks to be in excellent health and your Psyduck looks very calm” Paul beams with pride giving his Bulbasaur a high five, Budo responds with a vine five. The boys decide to head to a cafe nearby and spend all day talking about Pokemon. Paul learns more about his Pokemon from a very eager Bill. Bill hears about Pauls adventures across the regions and his love for Pokemon.

After this Bill starts joining the training sessions with Emma in the forest. However, he’s mainly there with his Eevee and his research equipment. The three become very fast friends.

Paul receives news from Kanto about his family, he must act quickly. He fully expects to have to say goodbye to his friend however when arriving at their final training session both Bill and Emma are ready and packed for a long journey.

The gang makes their way to Kanto and stay for a while before Paul receives confirmation that everything is ok. The group decides to head west to Johto to progress their Pokemon journey.

After a long day of travelling, they make camp in a secluded spot in the forest, Paul falls asleep first nestled closely with his Bulbasaur. Emma is next after a small training session with her Torchic and her newly found Eevee she met while in Kanto. Bill stays by the fire cuddled with his Eevee and leaning sleepily on his newly found Snorlax reading a book about the Johto area (Also found in Kanto)

He plans to sleep but suddenly he hears shouting and grunting deep in the forest. He becomes alert and motions for his Eevee to awaken the others.

They all approach slowly towards the noise cautiously and quickly hide behind a bush. They watch as two figures can be made out. A purple light is being emitted from the scene.

“Leave me alone!” A young girls voice shouts. She isn’t afraid but determined, Bills watches as the girl commands an order. He looks to where she is commanding and sees an Espeon. The Espeon is in a fighting stance, determination coursing through its eyes. Paul nudges Bill and points towards what appears to be the young girls opponent.

“Should we help?” Emma whispers. Bill considers this for a moment but before he can answer, the young girl makes another command. Shes good. She defeats the opposing Pokemon before scolding the opponent.

The three friends watch in awe as the opposing trainer races off in anger leaving his injured pokemon behind. The young girl sighs in sadness and approaches the Pokemon. “I’m so sorry” She whispers “You’re really hurt, we need to get you to a Poke Center” She claims. Bill knows better and pops out quickly.

“It won’t make it,” he says, much to the shock of his friends. The girl turns quickly in shock, holding a Mimikyu. He hears all his friends gasp at the sight of the Pokemon. It shouldn’t be here, it traveled a long way just to be abandoned. “Please let me help” the girl is weary at first before allowing Bill to help.

The group goes back to the camp and talk while Bills helps the Pokemon, assisted very eagerly by his Eevee.

“I’m Alice by the way…”. The group nod and introduce themselves. After a while, they all decide to rest and deal with everything in the morning.

Bill claims that Alice should keep the Mimikyu, to which she excitedly agrees to. The two become fast friends, and the group all agree to ask if she would like to join their journey. “I would love to,” She says honestly

They spend the day getting to know each other. Alice almost has a complete team of six, much to the group’s surprise. She’s the youngest of the four, but dont let that stop you. Shes extremely smart and tactical. Her pokemon are strong and very well cared for.

The group spends some more time in Johto, Paul gains a very chaotic Eevee. They decide to head north to Kalos to continue their journey.

Almost immediately they are confronted by a young trainer who challenges a very timid Bill to battle. Paul volunteers to take his place and they battle. Paul sends out his Bulbasaur, while the boy sends out a Froakie. Emma sighs at his obvious stupidity.

“Water types are weak against grass types” She comments. The boy glares at her then poses a very smug smile at Paul.

“That might be so, but my Froakie is extremely good” With this remarks, the boys battle it out, eventually declaring the boy the winner. Paul sighs discouraged comforted by a lowkey surprised Emma. Shell never admit it but she was impressed.

“I’m Ted by the way, but you can call me the best Pokemon Master” The group groans at Ted. Alice thinks for a moment before stepping forward.

“I’ll battle you" She claims. Ted’s smug smile falls as he stares at the girl. He scoffs but Alice doesn’t give in. “You scared?”

At this Ted becomes determined and accepts her battle request. Ted sends out his Machop, Alice smiles extremely smug and sends out her Espeon. Who takes one look at the Machop and smiles. The battle lasts about two minutes before Ted is unfortunately beat, he claims good game but shakes her hand just a little too hard.

Alice’s victory is short as she feels a Pokeball move around in her bag. She pulls it out and summons her Mimikyu. The group is shocked to find it in such bad shape.

Ted quickly volunteers to take them to a friend of his who can help. He claims there isn’t a Poke Center too nearby. He leads the group to a small house, located in a beautiful plane of grass. Surrounded by flowers and a small river.

A young girl is seen gardening assisted by a beautiful Sylveon and a very smug Delcatty. She smiled excitedly upon seeing Ted and the group of friends. She approaches them with a never faltering smile. She gives Ted a quick hug, his face flushes red before they let go. She turns to the others.

“I’m Charlotte!” They hurry their introductions and alert Charlotte of the situation. She nods and carefully takes the Mimikyu inside. She tends to it, much to the group surprise, it heals very quickly. While the ghost type rests she offers them food and they all talk about their journeys. Ted explains how he wishes he could travel around like them, Charlotte agrees and describes her passion for Pokemon. Emma invites them to join the journey. They both agree.

And that’s that. Im so sorry about how long this is. I was not expecting it. More will come soon though, how they found all their pokemon, getting their starters and more! Hope you enjoyed :)

Franchouchou’s Pokemon

Thanks to @necroducer-kotaro‘s post about Kotaro being bad at giving names to his Pokemon, I couldn’t help but think of what each member of Franchouchou’s Pokemon companion would be. The following is what I settled on for the ones they had in life and the ones Kotaro got them for their afterlives.

Kotaro: Yamper- This is Romero, who he still resurrected who he received from Xu Fu. He will tell anyone that asks about the stitches and the fact that he’s a different color that Romero is part Ghost Type.

Tae: Life~Unknown. Marshadow- Marshadow was a great help when Tae had been running the Sagako Busters. Afterlife~Marshadow- Marshadow just emerged from Tae’s shadow one day and Kotaro decided to just roll with it.

Lily: Life~Jigglypuff- Takeo and his Granbull have been looking after her. Takeo later recorded the Drive-In Tori commercial for her, since it makes her perk up to see it and al three of them go to Franchouchou’s concerts together. Whenever Franchouchou does a fan event and/or a general meet and greet, she tends to hang around Lily until it’s time to leave. Afterlife~Cleffa- Kotaro didn’t think Lily would much appreciate if he gave her a Jigglypuff that didn’t know her, so he grabbed the next Fairy Type that came to mind. Gets along well with Jigglypuff.

Yugiri: Life~Kirlia- Was originally a Ralts, but she evolved early on while with Yugiri, who absolutely doted upon her. Afterlife~Gardevoir- The Bartender had been looking after her and that is all Kotaro knows. Since he seems to be keeping quiet about the Bartender, he never says how he obtained her. Xu Fu gave her back, personally, and Yugiri is just happy to have her back.

Junko: Life~Vulpix (Ice Type)- It just seems right, somehow. She traveled everywhere with Junko. Afterlife~ She traveled everywhere with Junko. Exceedingly fine white thread was used to put her back together, so she just looks like she’s got messy fur.

Ai: Life~Pikachu- I really don’t know why Pikachu makes so much sense to me. I swear, this is not a lightning joke. That said, her Pikachu was made the mascot of Iron Frill in her honor. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Pikachu has grown attached to Shiori, but does recognize Ai. Ai had a nonverbal farewell with the Pikachu following her turning down Shiori’s offer Afterlife~Mimikyu- This just feels right. Mimikyu rides around on Ai’s shoulder like Pikachu does for Ash. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Mimikyu was just as worried about being abandoned as Junko when Shiori had made the offer and Junko’s Vulpix did what she could to make her feel better.

Saki: Life~Torchic- She and Reiko each had one. Reiko’s is now a Combusken, but Saki’s is still a Torchic and effectively adopted Maria as a new trainer. Afterlife~Charmander- Kotaro wasn’t sure how she’d react to getting a new Torchic to replace her original, so he just got her a different Fire Type Pokemon that he figured she’d get along with.

Sakura: Life~Eevee- Her Eevee never evolved and wound up running off after her death, surviving reasonably well in the wild for years. Afterlife~Eevee- Eight years later, in a rainstorm one night, she still recognized Sakura, even if Sakura didn’t remember her and was a zombie, so she followed her home and stayed with her. Evolved into Sylveon after Arpino. Wears a bow around her neck that matches Sakura’s.

1. favorite type?

Electric!! Water is a close second though, then Grass and Flying!

2. least favorite type?

Ground or Rock honestly. I just don’t tend to train pokemon of those types, it’s nothing against the actual pokemon~

3. favorite dual type?

Ooooo tough one! Electric/anything is honestly always fun, but I’ve got a soft spot for Ghost/Fairy ever since Mimikyu was released, and I hope there’s more of that type combo in the future!

4. least favorite dual type?

I genuinely can’t think of one!!

5. favorite trainer?

Just going off the games and not including gym leaders/trial captains here, it’s Gladion, Hau or Wally!

6. least favorite trainer?

Probably Silver honestly. I never got to play HG/SS, so if he got more development in those games, someone please let me know, but just based on what I have played and know of him, he’s definitely my least favourite~

7. favorite gym leader?

Can I have a few? Misty, Falkner, Jasmine, Wattson, Wallace and Fantina!!

8. least favorite gym leader?

Pryce’s gym always takes me FOREVER to get through to the point where I can actually battle him, so I’m going to say him for that alone >_

9. favorite elite four member?

LORELEI!!! I’ve adored her ever since I first played Yellow when I was 6~

10. least favorite elite four member?

Sydney and Lance have always been massive pains in the butt for me to beat!!

11. favorite trial (sun & moon)?

Ghost, hands down!!

I remember the first time I played Sun, the Grass trial was the biggest pain in the butt!!

13. favorite antagonist team?

I’ve got a soft spot for Aqua, but at the end of the day, it’s gotta be Team Rocket!

Plasma or Flare, only because they’re the ones I know the least about >_

15. favorite shiny pokemon?

For sentimental reasons, it’s Espeon~ Love that little green alien!

I’m not a big fan of ones where it’s hard to tell if it’s shiny without the sparkles around it, like Gengar, but really all shinies are special because they’re shiny!!

I’m gonna force myself to not to list the whole ‘Chu line or any of the “Pikachu Clones”, so I’m gonna say Pidgeot, Vaporeon and Torchic!

18. 3 least favorite pokemon?

All pokemon are good and deserve love and respect!! I have certain pokemon of certain types I’m not as fond of as others if you put them on a list, sure, but there aren’t any pokemon I actively dislike at all!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Silver and Alpha Sapphire~!!

20. least favorite pokemon game?

I genuinely do not have one!! Every single pokemon game I’ve ever played, even if it was only a small bit of it, I’ve loved it!!

I’m so sorry Vanillish, cause I know your whole evolutionary lines gets knocked a lot, but I had to pick someone >_

Butterfree!! Always has been always will be! Scyther is a close second though!

Oh god this is hard cause all the dragons are super cool!! Maybe Druddigon, only because I genuinely forget it exists half the time >_

Mimikyu!! As soon as it was revealed I fell in love with it. I’ve trained a few now and they’re always tiny, affectionate powerhouses! I don’t think I could ever play a game in Alola without taking one with me~

I love the lore behind it, but I don’t think I’d ever train a Cofagregius >_

Umbreon or Cacturne!!

Hmmm Pawniard/Bisharp maybe? I’ve fought Bisharps in the Battle Tree and they’re really strong and cool, but they’re just not pokemon I think about too much >_

Espeon!!! Slowbro and Wobbuffet are close seconds, but I love Espeon so much!!

I’m not the biggest fan of Drowzee/Hypno, but they’re not awful~

I can’t bring myself to dislike any of them, even the ones I don’t think of much, because they’re all so damn cute!!

I haven’t seen enough of them to have a least favourite, and I love all the ones I’ve seen!!

I’m not 100% sure what this is asking here, but I’m going to say that out of everything I’ve seen of the anime, which admittedly isn’t much sadly, my favourite has been everything in Johto!!

Facts about muses {As a treat}

Elizabith

×Hack, her Gengar, was her first Pokemon. When Elizabith was 6, she had run away from home after a bad encounter with Zapdos!Spark. She wound up in a old cemetery where she encountered a Gastly, who had been abandoned by a trainer who was “shiny hunting”. She stayed there for the night, then went to Willows lab with the Gastly in tow. Elizabith dubbed him the name Hack, and soon the duo became inseparable. To make up for Zapdos scaring her, Spark let her catch the Pokemon and make it her own, making Elizabith the first of the kids to catch her own Pokemon.

×Her first starter was a Bulbasaur, which Elizabith named Bubbles after the spots on her. Her first actual starter (for the Galar challenge) was a Sobble which she named Ramune.

×Elizabith spent so much of her time around Pokemon as a child, that she didn’t really talk to other children. Her parents told her to interact with the other kids more and she did, but they typically bullied her. The first friend Elizabith ever made, was a new girl named Joanie.

Ace

×Aces first pokemon was his Litten, Tony. He got him when he did the Alola challenge. Their relationship is brotherly outside of battle, but this proves for a strong connection in battle. Ace does admit to a small regret for evolving Tony so soon, as he misses the little Litten sleeping on his bed.

×Hot Wings was a gift from his mother once he returned from Alola. The Torchic is rather hot-headed, much like her trainer. She gets jealous easy, but typically only attacks her Ace during her fits. Despite everything, she has an odd respect for Tony and seems to look up to him in a way. The two both love Ace very much.

×Ace understands Elizabiths fear of Zapdos the best, as he has had more than one sour encounter with Moltres The most prominent was one where Moltres remarked, “I could burn you to ash and feel little sorrow, do not think I won’t make it happen.” After that encounter, he marks the change in the twos relationship.

×One of Ace’s biggest guilty pleasures is cake. He tries to eat healthy and what not, steer clear of pointless sugars, but he can’t resist a good slice of cake. Usually you can find him around the house sneaking a few bites, or if he’s in one of his moods, devouring an entire slice as fast as he can. His favorite is Black Forrest, or Chocolate with Vanilla frosting.

×He briefly considered joining team Mystic and even did a year working with them, but ultimately decided to return to team Valor.

Quinn

×Quinn is scared of the dark. When they were younger the power went out while they were in the lab. In the brief 5 minutes the power was out, Quinn was jumped on in the dark by an Umbreon and shoved into a table. They managed to stay still for 5 minutes and when the generator kicked in, turning on the lights, all they saw was the blood on floor. Ever since then, they’ve been weary of the dark.

×Their first pokemon was a Mudkip which they named Kipper. Kipper stays at home while Quinn is traveling, and doesn’t really leave without Quinn due to a deformity. One of Kippers legs didn’t grow properly as a result he struggles with walking. Quinn is looking into Prosthetics and hopes to have a prototype ready soon.

×They speak French from their time in Kalos. Its a bit rusty and they struggle with reading it, they can understand it at best.

×Quinn sleeps in full pants and long sleeve pajamas, surrounded by ice Pokemon. Its because they can’t sleep if their too hot or too cold and this is the only solution they’ve found as of yet. When their sick they switch it to tank top and shorts with fire Pokemon.

×When it comes to Articuno, Quinn can’t really define their relationship. Articuno is pretty neutral to all the siblings, but does seem to treat them better than the other legendary birds.

Joanie

×Joanie doesn’t actually have any Pokemon. Her aunt and uncle didn’t think she was ready for them when they were alive, and Darkrai’s aura scares most Pokemon away from her now. At most she has Darkrai and sometimes a Litwik he brings with him. Joanie dryly remarks, “I am not Darkrais trainer any more than he is my Pokemon, if anything I’m his to boss around.”

×Her parents moved to the area and literally TAUGHT her how to befriend Elizabith, like schooled her and everything. The plan was to use Joanie to lure Elizabith to them so they could kidnap her and use her as blackmail. It backfired and they were arrested, and Joanie moved away to live with her aunt and uncle. When she returned and Elizabith still thought they were friends, she was disgusted. Even now, she rebukes Elizabith ad keeps telling her “I was literally instructed on how to be your friend, we were never truly friends.” This is partially, if nor majorly, because Joanie secretly feels bad for what her parents did to Elizabith.

×Joanie wanted to be a hair stylist when she was younger. She would practice on all her dolls, and even on Elizabith once.

×Because of her bond with Darkrai, Joanie has lost the ability to have dreams of her own. Depending on how Darkrai’s feeling he may give her some great dreams, no dreams at all, or even a nightmare from his trial. No matter what, Joanie usually wakes up feeling like she needs at least one more hour of sleep and always has bags under her eyes as a result.

Swift

×She gave herself the name Swift after she successfully evaded a hoard of angry Gavantula. One of her fellow grunts complimented her on how fast she’d been, and on the spot replied, “Well, they call me Swift for a reason!” And nobody ever questioned who called her Swift.

×Swifts family is well known in Galar as one of the most generous families in Whydon. They come from old money, and added to that with their flying Taxi business. The youngest of 6, Swift used to spend her days in Spikemuth actively avoiding her families expectations and responsibilities. Eventually, on a vacation to Alola when she was 16, Swift ran away and wound up joining Team Skull. From there’s she’s been on the run from the law and her parents for about 3 years now.

×Swift did pretty well in school on her own, and graduated a year early by cheating off of other. One of her favorite school activities was reading, but teachers and curriculum slowly took that away from her until she just stopped enjoying it. What’s the point of reading when everyone only wants you to read boring books?“

×Her first Pokemon was an Espurr which she named Strawberry. Her Pokemon in alola was a Mimikyu which she named Pumpkin, "because your wearing a costume like its Halloween, and pumpkins make me think of Halloween!”

×She’s a kleptomaniac, and genuinely tries to catch herself before it happens. It’s partially why the cops are on her ass, but once they realized, “She might not mean to do this” they only gave her community service as opposed to jail time.
