These two are honestly my favourite characters of Afton's Return, I just had to draw those two besties.

Mike and Charlie, being the best friends they are in Afton's Return.

New headcanon that's backstory related:

Mike is the way he is now because of the support he got with... Charlie Emily, aka the Puppet.

In this AU, during the events of FNAF 1, Mike found the present box that had the Puppet sleeping in there, abandoned. He couldn't let it rot like that, after knowing that the animatronics are haunted by children he decided to bring it back to his apartment. Without telling his superiors about it, which lead to him being fired on Night 7. As he brought Puppet home, he took the risk to unwind the music box, waking it up. Teh Puppet jumped out, but in her shock realised that the person who woke her up was none other than her good friend Michael Afton. She revealed to him that she is in fact Charlie Emily, and both friends are happy to see each other.

At first, Charlie was resentful as Mike took her away from the other children, but he insisted that she was being scrapped at Freddy's and wanted to keep an eye on them himself. But after a while of living with him, she realised that he was going through a hard time, coping with his life as a purple zombie. So she decided to liven things up and help him too! After all, he too was a victim of William Afton, so she may as well give him a gift... well, more like some help.

As life went on, after Freddy's closure, both friends started evolving, maturing. They also started building up a robotics business, building, fixing robots for their clients. At the same time, they both grew up as proper adults, no longer the young people they were.

Unfortunately, Charlie was taken away after being trapped inside Lefty, and Mike went to look for her while trying to end William Afton for good. At the Pizza Place, they met again, and Mike planned a way out for the both of them, after telling Henry Emily that he didn't want to die. So, on the fateful night, he took a run to exit the Place, going to the place where he asked Charlie to come and meet him up. But unfortunately, she never came, as she was stuck inside to burn.

In the present, Mike has been left alone for two years. He's going through a hard time again, until... he came to the Megapizzaplex...
