send help some idiots said Magneto could be black in the MCU, and that his jewishness and survival of the holocaust isn’t a central part of his character

So, magneto...I knew he went by both Erik and Max, but I thought it was a first/middle name ala Logan/James for Wolverine. But based on your tags, it looks like they are different surnames he goes by too...why does he have two names? Is it a silver age / bronze age difference?
This is going to get a bit complicated, because Magneto's name (and relatedly his ethnic identity) has been the subject of multiple retcons over time.
The earliest mention of Magneto having a name is in X-Men #141 (1980), the first half of"Days of Future Past," where he is going by the name Magnus. Magnus was likewise used in X-Men #161 (1982), where it's established that he was going by the name Magnus when he and Xavier met in Israel.
As far as I can tell, the first use of "Erik Lehnsherr" as a name for Magnetyo is 1993's X-Men Unlimited #2, where Fabian Nicieza established that Magneto was born Erik Magnus Lehnsherr (this is not a name that either a Jewish or Romani person would have been given, by the way), and retconned him as being from "a gypsy family of Sinte descent." As I've discussed before (see above), the change seems to have been motivated by Marvel editorial's decision to revert Magneto from his 80's anti-hero position back to being a villain, and editorial being uncomfortable that their most prominent Jewish character was a villain. (Why it was ok for a villain to be their most prominent Romani character is a matter for you to consider.)
Then Marvel waffled on this, so that in 1998's X-Men Vol 2 #72, Joe Kelly established that the "Erik Magnus Lehnsherr" identity was a forgery concoted by one Georg Odenkirk, and that Magneto was in fact, not Sinte Romani after all.
Then in 2008, Marvel got sick of the back-and-forth and decided to do a definitive Magneto origin mini-series called Magneto: Testament. In this miniseries, Greg Pak established that Magneto was born a German Jew by the name of Max Eisenhardt, that his family had fled Nuremberg for Warsaw after Kristallnacht, and that he had ended up in Auschwitz where he was reunited with Anya (whom he had met in Nuremberg years earlier) and the rest is as Claremont had described in Classic X-Men #12.

hello, can you recommend erik centric comics to check?
Of course!
The first two I'm gonna recommend are very centered on his backstory, as in his childhood and upbringing, and are therefore also very dark, just a TW incase that's not for you.
The first one I'll recommend is the Magneto Testament from 2008, its a really good in-depth walkthrough of his childhood, and the people who made it really cared a lot about gathering as many details about his background as they could from different comics, and creating this fullend backstory of his childhood. A big TW though, is that this comic contains a lot of violence and graphic stuff, and i would NOT recommend this to anyone sensitive. I personally found it very moving. But seriously heed the TW.
Tumblr media
The next one I'm gonna recommend is Magneto (1993). This comic much like the last one, focuses on his backstory, but this time more of his life after the camps. i find this one to be a bit controversial, because some of the things in it aren't really accurate with his true backstory, but most of it is, and the second problem i have with it is the end, where it tries to paint him slightly like not a bad guy. But its still a good read if you aren't too much aware of his backstory and want to know more. And again i have to say TW for this one as well, it contains very graphic deaths etc.
Tumblr media
The next one I'm gonna recommend is S.W.O.R.D Vol.1.. it's just one part of a bigger series, but this one specifically involves Magneto a lot, and I find it very hilarious. It's modern era X-Men and it's a very good and lighthearted read, with awesome art and characters in general. And who knows, maybe it’ll get you hooked on the whole series, which I can very much also recommend.

Fell free to ask for more or different recommendations!

I like how it's fandom consensus that gabby was just after that dick. no drama. simply would like to have fun with the bald psychiatrist
like charles and erik were having a dramatic psychosexual obsession with each-other while gabby was literally like "none of my business. this one's hot tho"
