Harry Potter books are really important to me since my aunt (rip ♥) gave me book 1 (HPATSS) as a Christmas gift in1998. I was 16 at the time. Then the following Christmas (1999) she gave me book 2 and 3 (HPATCOS & HPATPOA).

She loved Harry Potter books too… that was OUR thing… specially on Christmas and I don't even like Christmas. Well… I like our traditional puerto rican "Christmas food" but most people eat it all year long.

Anyway… sorry for my ADHD lol All of that story just to say that it still bothers me how can JK Rowling write a series about love, respect and compassion and at the same time be a transphobic piece of shit. In a way she fucking ruined Harry Potter for me cause now every time I think about Harry Potter I instantly get angry cause she's fucking transphobic and a fucking terf.

Right off the bat, just jumping in with the twisted expectations.

I love that you start off following Vernon for the majority of the first chapter, and exploring the Dursleys’ lives as if they are going to be the main characters of this book, before Rowling pulls a complete switcheroo. Like, “Whoops, actually, they’re the bad guys! Gotcha!”

I still wish there was a follow up with Hermione learning “a few simple spells” before even setting foot in Hogwarts. Like she was a very bright and studious kid and I can absolutely see her figuring it out for herself but like. Did she get a one time warning or did they look at what she accomplished and think “we need to keep this one”?
