Overwatch characters watching your kid
I've been thinking about writing some silly short stories about OW characters getting stuck watching someone's kid, but I figured I would make this guide for my headcannon for the kind of babysitter each of them would be.
Brigitte and Reinhardt would make you the most nervous with their methods. Lots of rough-housing, throwing them around and into the air, giving your kid sugar, letting them climb things, and overall just encouraging mayhem and rule-breaking. "You mom/dad doesn't let you do this at home? Well, they're not here, are they?" Your kid will come home thoroughly exhausted, but bitter about you not being as fun as they are.
Orisa would make the same mistakes as Brigitte and Reinhardt, but more out of ignorance and inexperience. Like letting your kid stay up too late, because she doesn't understand why going to bed at a decent time is important, or feeding them something that makes them sick because that's what they said they wanted to eat. Unintentionally lets your kid walk all over her, but once you teach her how it's done, she'll be your go-to option when you need a break.
Zenyatta would be so intrigued by the natural imagination and curiosity of children. He'd provide lots of different toys, art supplies, and time for unrestricted and uninstructed play. A one-man enrichment program. Just don't try to tell him there are boy toys and girls toys. Your kid will be allowed to play with whatever they want. He would also unironically have a blast playing pretend with dolls or action figures. I'm talking a 25-part narrative with backstories, lore, worldbuilding, and an Endgame-style final conflict.
Genji, Kiriko, Tracer, and B.O.B would be the kings and queens of "don't tell your parents." Extra screen-time, taking them out for ice cream, staying up a little later then their normal bedtime, etc. What I would call "a healthy amount of rule-breaking." They have everyone else convinced they are Responsible™ but you can't help noticing that your kid is always excited to hangout with them.
Ana and Torbjorn could be depended on the same way you can trust grandma and grandpa. They've had kids, so they know all the tips, tricks, and games to keep your kid clean, fed, safe, and happy. Just don't tell them some dumb shit like "organic, non-gmo fruits only." Your kid will be eating bananas from the supermarket like everyone else. But for more sensible rules, even the ones they don't agree with, they will follow them.
Echo will make you fill out a 200-question survey and write an essay on how you want your kid cared for. She will follow every instruction down to the letter, and send you updates every 30 minutes. If your kid sneezes, she will call you to ask about it. The downside is your kid will probably hate her for being such a rules monger.
Baptiste, Illari, Lucio, and Sojourn would try so hard to be responsible and follow your instructions, but puppy-eyes work on them 80% of the time. Your home will look like a warzone when you get back, but they'll help you clean up.
Lifeweaver, Pharah, Mei, and Zarya would get a whiff of that specific smell babies have that makes your DNA scream at you to make one yourself. They would be the sweetest, most gentle caretakers on this list. They'll spend most of the time snuggling on the couch, watching T.V. and drinking hot coco. Would let your kid give them a makeover, paint their nails, and play with their hair. Would read to and rock them to sleep, tuck them in really snug. They'd probably look forward to seeing your kid again, and every time you happen upon one of them, they'll only ask what's going on with the kiddo.
Sombra, Symmetra, and Widowmaker would rather be water-boarded then spend five minutes with those sticky-fingered cunt goblins you call kids.
Ashe, Hanzo, and Winston would happily agree to babysit for you, thinking they will be serviceable at it. How hard could it be? Then an hour later they call you, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and beg you to come back, because your kid is crying or throwing a tantrum. They definitely have the potential to be great caretakers, but they would need someone to walk them through it at first.
Bastion and Sigma definitely WANT to give babysitting a try, but they understand why that's probably not a safe idea. They would question your intelligence if you asked them.
Cassidy and D.va would take your kid to McDonalds or somewhere else with else with a play-place, and let them go wild while they sit on a bench nearby. They will do the bare minimum amount of work to keep your kid alive, because they have better things to do. Would only babysit as a favor for you if no one else is available.
Mercy is married to her work, and Ramattra is dedicated to his mission. If you somehow convince them to watch your kid for even a single hour, they'll set-up a playpen with whatever toys they like, toss in a sippy cup and snack every now and then, and ignore their existence while they do their usual business.
Doomfist, Moira, Reaper, and Soldier: 76 would tape your kid to a chair the first time it annoys them. I know there's the fandom joke of S76 being the dad of the team, but he's always come off as grumpy and impatient to me.
Your kid would love the junkers (Junker Queen, Junkrat, Roadhog, Wrecking Ball) for all the wrong reasons. They would teach your kid how to make a grenade launcher out of plastic bottles and rubber bands, 37 new swear words, and how to punch people in the throat. Unless you want to get a call from the school about your kid blowing up the chemistry room, I would choose literally anyone else to babysit.
Mauga would use your kids to get dates. He'll take your daughter to a dance class and talk to any single parents about how much of a family man he is and how difficult being a single dad. He'll take your son to play catch in a park so he has an excuse to take his shirt off and flex his muscles. He'll coach your kid to walk up to someone and say, "my uncle thinks your pretty, so maybe you can play with us."

Hi! I love your blog! I came into the fandom a bit late and kinda liking Elriel (their art was cute!), but they don’t really do it for me anymore & I think Elucien and Gwynriel would have more interesting journeys. An argument I’ve been seeing a lot since Azriel’s POV chapter is that the series is about the sisters, and Azriel would never have his own book (I’m guessing because an Azriel book would kinda rule out an Elriel endgame). But then a lot of the same people go on to say Lucien and Vassa would have their own book, which then comes across as pushing Lucien into another relationship to get him out of the way… so idk.
I thought the original three (and a half?) books were about Feyre’s journey and then SJM expanded the series and decided to explore different characters with two POVs per book. I feel like this was said in an interview, but I don’t have it on hand. I enjoyed reading about Nesta; and I do think Elain is getting a much needed book, but that still leaves at least one more novel and a novella. I could see the novella being multiPOV like ACOFAS, but I would imagine the second upcoming novel would follow characters that aren’t Archerons (if not Azriel, then maybe Mor? There’s still a lot to discover with her!). Sorry for the rambling & if you addressed this before. At the end of all this, my question is: has it been stated the series is only about the sisters? Or is that born out of specific shipping preferences?
Hey there!!
I actually started off in the fandom like you did, thinking E/riel was going to be a thing but when I went back and really dived into the books I switched up my preference.
I'm not sure whether it's selective memory or whether certain people only share certain snippets of these interviews and that's when the rumors and misinformation runs wild.
I do think the sisters inspired her to realize there was more to the ACOTAR series than just what was going on with Feysand:
Tumblr media
But we know for a fact that the spin offs were never only going to be about the sisters:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She confirmed each spin-off would follow one new pairing and as there were two sisters and three new full length books, I don't know how anyone can claim the series was only ever about them. She said there were various stories she was deciding on for the third book, one that might even take place before the events of ACOTAR. There's also an interview where she says, "and I say three but" there are so many stories she wants to tell so while we know with certainty that Elain and Nesta were always getting a book.....
Tumblr media
...she never planned on stopping there and I think that's proven by the recent announcement that she is now contracted for an additional 4 books beyond the two she still has left in ACOTAR (some of those 4 could be additional ACOTAR ones).
Maybe the debate is more centered around who was getting the first two spin-offs? That they feel it should be the sisters because her plan since ACOMAF was to always continue on with their journeys?
To that, I do see the point they're making because if SJM originally thought the third spin-off was going to be a prequel then logic would be that Nesta and Elain got the first two books. SJM obviously drew them into the series in a major way by introducing them to their mates all the way in book 2.
But the problem with the other side is they are convinced that means Az will be getting a shared pov when what's more likely is that Elain was to have a shared pov with Lucien.
Say the third book was going to be a prequel and that meant we only had two books left in the current world of ACOTAR. In ACOWAR, who had more unresolved plotlines which would make sense for a pov in the second spin-off, Az or Lucien?
Az had open ended storylines for sure, his unrequited love for Mor and his hatred of the Illyrians.
But who was the unknown heir to the Day Court with unknown powers? A brother who wanted to reconnect with him? Who had been chased out of his home in Spring and has no real home right now? Who had recently suffered SA and abuse? Who had an unresolved mating bond? Whose father was still abusing his mother and refusing to allow him into Autumn to see her? Who befriended a female with a still unbroken curse and traveled to the continent where Koschei is? Who had traveled with Elain's father before his death, a big deal when you consider how close she was to him?
Lucien had just as much setup as Elain and I think that means SJM knew he and Elain were the book she was sure about while deciding on who was getting the third. Because again, there was a chance the third was going to have nothing to do with the current cast if it was to be set in the past. To me that means she was planning on wrapping up Lucien's storyline in the second, along with Elain's. I find it impossible to believe that he's played a starring role since book 1, had trauma after trauma thrown his way, was shocked at finding out he had a mate after believing he had already lost her (a MMC storyline for sure when you consider Rowan), only for her to just forget about him in favor of E/riel being the second book.
I think, in trying to prove their ship is happening, some pick and choose specific lines from her interviews that support their narrative. We all do this in our interpretation of them to some degree but the problem comes when people manipulate the interviews, sharing single lines while cropping the rest and passing that around the fandom as the whole story. Or paraphrasing her actual words in a way that twists them in their favor rather than supplying the actual interview.

My Favorite Daemyra Fanfics
Here's an updated* and better curated list of my (very personal) favorite Daemyra fics, WIPs and finished, in no particular order. I offer a few words on each on them, mostly my own opinions and impressions, please click on them if you want a proper synopsis. Other than 100% finished stories, I tried to stick to fics that either stand on their own despite having room to continue, or are frequently or regularly updated, so there's less chances you get invested in something that might never get a proper ending.
I'll welcome and thank any recs too, ofc, I'm always eager to read new material and depictions of them, especially (almost exclusively, in fact) modern AUs. I'm open to different family dynamics as well, especially siblings, biological or otherwise (I include two great ones here, btw). Currently, I'm leaning toward more mature stories, with a Rhaenyra facing adult conflicts rather than just age gap PWP with feelings. I'm still a smut enjoyer though, don't get me wrong, lmao.
Well, nothing more to add for now, so... here we go!
Back, Baby by velvetwoman: Modern AU. Heart-wrenching, but beautiful one-shot. It's kinda finished, the ending is really bittersweet, but author promised a follow-up that hasn't come out, though I refuse to lose hope just yet (I just need to believe, please let me be). It features underage sex, so be warned.
entropy by firecollide: Modern AU. WIP. Musical references, especially Arctic Monkeys. Starts as a texting fic, and turns into a Daemon/Rhaenyra POV multichapter piece. They get together/fall in love quite fast, although it gets quite angsty at a point and remains like that. I only recommend if you're patient and want more than just fluff and smut, character growth specifically. Best Daemon depiction for me, complicated and heartbreaking, because I do relate to Rhaenyra a lot as well.
Ānogar Hūra by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Modern Mafia AU. Finished. Succession, violence, murder, betrayal, lots and lots and lots of smut. I particularly love how their relationship develops from them getting off on fighting and exasperating one another to them falling in love but keeping that feisty and explosive dynamic in bed. Daemon is a very strong dom in this, though deep down he's a very caring and considerate partner.
Our Violent Ends by grandlovescheme: Vampire AU. Finished. Also modern. Or kind of. The starting point is in canon timeline, but the story stretches across space and time because, of course, our two favs are not exactly mortal anymore. Enemies to lovers trope, and as we all know, those are the type of stories in which the smut is the hottest and most satisfying you could ever hope for. I also strongly recommend all of this author's works, she's very talented and will be appearing again in this list.
Passion driven by ginvael: Modern AU. Finished. This is a really fun fic that involves cheating, a "has his cake and eats it too" version of Daemon that's infuriating and sort of endearing at the same time. Mysaria is a really cool character in this, I personally missed an insight on how her character ended, but the lack of it doesn't really take anything away from the story as a whole, so no biggie.
High Hopes by grandlovescheme: Modern AU. Finished. I'm not quite sure, but I think this is the fic that started a sort of subgenre of Daemyra fics with the "Rhaenyra runs away from home for x reason and finds shelter in her estranged uncle's home" trope. Both characters have their issues and are both beautifully written from beginning to end. It's a very slow burn, but it sure pays off, so your patience will be rewarded.
a safe space / a warm hug by themilkteeth: Modern AU. Finished. Sugar daddy story, but with a different daddy (Daemyra endgame tho, don't get confused). I love how things are described in this, the colors, atmosphere, smells, tastes. Just a one-shot, but it honestly feels like more than that in the end.
If I Could, I'd Get You the Moon by grandlovescheme: Modern AU. Finished. Daemyra are siblings and I've never imagined I'd be into this the way I am, but here we are. The push and pull between these two is "deliriously" fabulous, the smut is hot af, and the way the characters act feels so frustratingly real it hurts me and gives me life at the same time. I'm in love with Rhaenyra in this one, she's not only the gaslight-gatekeep-girlboss we all know and love, she's also unapologetically kinky in such a pure and wholesome way, it's truly fascinating. She's everything, really. Also, Baelon and Alyssa couple goals.
Bad Vibes by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Modern AU. Finished. Twins at college. From the amazing author of Ānogar Hūra, filled with angst, guilt, passion, jealousy and all those equally beautiful and nasty feelings. Another one-shot that feels much more than that and could totally have a follow-up, in my humble opinion.
Violet-Eyed Jealousy by ginvael: Canon Divergence AU. Finished. A pretty interesting premise, with low honor Daemyra going for it despite knowingly hurting Daemon's OC son's feelings. Very twisted and with a bittersweet, partly tragic ending, but definitely worth the time.
Dream a Little Dream of Me by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Incubus AU. Finished. Similar to Vampire AU in that both fics start in canon timeline (this one follows book canon to a T). Daemon is doomed to live for all eternity, never able to find peace until he finds Rhaenyra again to try to make things up to her after all that went down in the war and their tragic canon endings. It's a fascinating story, haunting, emotional and beautiful.

Okay, that went well. They've got the goose, some people who will hopefully be able to provide some kind of help. Alphonse was a prince this whole time, still need to unpack that. I wonder if the Golden Harp has any interesting mojo going on. Things are still less than ideal but they're making some strides forward. Or as the Gunner Channel would say, the ball is rolling up.
What a wildly different tone this episode had than the last one. Everyone came in hot. Roz set the tone with a brutal opening volley and Ylfa tanked so much damage. I'm mildly surprised it went as well as it did.
I felt really bad for Tim re: Jack because, much like Ger with Elody, the dice simply weren't on his side. He didn't play it really dumb or anything. The dice just wouldn't let him have it and he didn't have his book at the absolute worst possible time. Tragic.
On the absolute other end of the spectrum, Brennan pulling that nonsense with Alphonse was absolutely WILD. He was like, "I see your insane series of events. Allow me to put a cherry on top of it." It retroactively makes everything Alphonse has done so far even crazier. Also, I'm sure this isn't what he intended, but in a world that seems mostly devoid of princes (at least in the limelight), it's an interesting thing for him to be.
Speaking of royalty, Thumbelina's title card says she's a princess and I wonder if that factors into the princess math of the daughters of the crown. We're still not clear if this is a "We need any 7 princesses" thing (a la the 7 maidens in Fantasy High) or if they just know that in the timeline they succeed, there are 7 princesses and they are specific princesses (in which case, Roz can't be replaced).
I do think it's absolutely *crucial* they were able to save the Goose because I have a feeling that Brennan is going to take this as a chance for a lore dump that they sorely need. I feel like there's a LOT of information that the PCs just haven't even gotten close to because they've been focused on other things and the Goose might have some of it. As a DM, this is a great chance to start bringing things together. And Brennan already did that a bit by dropping Tomas and Henry into their laps, which are crucial parts of the backstory of PIB and Tim we haven't really explored yet. Seems like we'll be getting it in just under the wire.
Anyway, the Goose will likely be a good and trustworthy source of information. Maybe she'll be able to help them get back into The Lines Between since it's the Gander stopping them. That would also be a good source of information. Failing that, as a last resort they could talk to the Fairies under an enemy of my enemy understanding because at least they know the Fairies don't want to end the world (and we know they have information that the PC's don't have--for instance, Turq knew stuff about the wolf but the PCs ran from her and didn't follow up on it). And as a last LAST resort, if they REALLY want to they can do what I know Emily has wanted for weeks now and talk to the Baba Yaga but they couldn't even handle talking to the princesses so I am let's say dubious of their ability to get through that encounter with all of their souls intact.
But hey! Things are definitely looking better than they did at the end of LAST episode (though that's a low bar to clear. I felt more confident after the TPK than the end of last episode) and I'm very excited to see what their plan ends up being because folks, we are in the endgame now. Every story eventually reaches it's The End and we're pretty close to ours. I hope they make it count! Let's keep that ball rolling uphill!

I’m predicting cc4 will follow tharion and ithan as main characters and then ithan is obvious that Perry is his mate lol. Tharion will have a love square with sathia and ari/Flynn but sathia will be in danger and tharion goes into “DONT TOUCH MY WIFE” mode and we get our endgame . Flynn and Ari I can’t predict their story but it’s gonna be idiots to lovers (Ari denying she has any feelings for Flynn)
honestly i felt like sjm was setting them both up for their own books but who knows? cc was originally just a trilogy so idk how many she has planned anymore 😭
my dream would be to get novels for ithan, tharion and flynn. i know flynn was kind of sidelined in hofas but i love him :( and i'd love to see how he adjusts to not being a noble anymore. it'd be fun!!
it's funny because during hosab i was so sure that ithan and sigrid would be a thing but... well.... LMFAO. i was so wrong, but at least i can admit it!
now this love square could be interesting, i don't see anything there on tharion's end but maybe ari has a crush? it's difficult because tharion is flirty by default, that's his personality (hey remember when people were shipping him and hypaxia lol), so it's hard to tell unless sjm would build it up more to create tension. we already know he and sathia are it tho since he felt jealous over her past and went back specifically FOR HER so i'm not too worried there
overall idc i just need ari and flynn. sjm has been edging me with them for too long

i've never engaged with mcu or marvel comics in depth but the excerpts hit so hard,,,, the sudden vulnerability that natasha feels now without a purpose. as a weapon she knew how to hold herself, but now in freedom she has to test her own boundaries to see where she ended and where the world starts.
is your wip a no powers au specifically bc you wanted to focus on clint and natasha without bringing in the avengers? i am curious abt how you see clint and natasha's alliance with the avengers, whether it stunts their arcs in your mind (to be continued to be used by larger forces as weapons or if it's a calling they enjoy and have resigned themselves to), and what the endgame for them is in your mind (would they leave the avengers? stay? try to become civilians? be free agents separate from any sides?)
it's not because of the avengers, although later on it played a part, it's because i wanted to take out the more out-there elements of comics (magic, etc) to focus on the purely human aspects, there's no magic or long life or unrealistic physics, just the reality of a life led by damaged people who made mistake and try to right them. but also becuase i wanted to focus on nat and i couldn't do that properly if it was a fic about a group rather than one individual (clint was attached later, early on in the project because i realized how important they are for each other's arcs but still, the first idea was nat only)
i dont think the avangers stunt their arc, i think it's a necessary part that they grow past with time. mind u it's been years since i've read marvel and i never focused on the group stories, more on nat and clint's individual stories and while i know the avengers are important to both of them (in a way, it's how they prove to the world that they can do good, nat explicitly defects and leaves the room and kgb for them, clint starts to call himself a hero when he joins their rank, it's a fundamental part of their growth as characters, important to them both and they value it, given how much work and effort they give to the group in various storylines), i think as individual they've been working for and within organizations a lot, if not solely, so i think it's interesting to pull them out of that type of environment and see how they act when left on their own, with no guidelines or authority to follow or push back against, left to their own judgment. i imagine their lives, but especially this au, as a series of steps, each one needed to get to the next, and i wouldn't be able to reach the conclusion i want to if they did not go through a period of working with another organization
for me, the end goal would be for them to realize themselves in an independent way. i focus a lot on this story about how they're used, always, no matter the group they swear alliance to, and the main struggle is finding a way to exist outside of influences while true to themselves (truth is another big topic, learning to be honest with themselves first and foremost but also each other, it's always a staple of spy stories). by the time the epilogue arrives, they're leading civilian lives but they haven't forgotten their first career path and regularly go out to work on op, never hired merc, not anymore, but to do what they judge, on their own, to be right, partly because of a moral impulsion but mostly because they miss the adrenaline too much, and that too is something i have them wrestle with, that despite all the pain and sorrow they got from this life, they still love it, and they have to accept that they both do and don't miss it

hey hi this sounds insane but will you please elaborate on the au you were just telling calico about I just saw it on my dashboard that sounds so fucking cool I :3 I've never spoken to you in my life but 🙏🙏🙏🤝🤝🤝🤝 big fan of faz frights aus you have no idea eye twitch insane insane insane /pos hii 🐱🐱🐱
hiiii!!! ^v^ uhhhh i'm assuming that this is about eftp!! i'm gonna talk about it but if this isn't about eftp i am so sorry i am a little stupid. uhhh anyways LOTS of rambling under the cut here you go anon :3
right okay so eftp / escape from the pit is a post-epilogues au about a bunch of the characters that's?? mostly canon compliant?? outside of characters having relations that aren't canon whatsoever because i am silly like that. so uhhh there's two main groups of characters who get followed in the story, which are pit gang ( devon, millie, andrew and kelsey ) and the actually alive characters. ( larson, mick, shelly and oswald ) there's also some other characters off to the side doing their own thing ( hi connor hi chuck hi tabitha )
so like millie and devon know each other and millie dies before devon so devon specifically remembers millie NOT being in school for a while. and yet he's seen her around school the last few days and they realize shit's like really fucked up. and andrew shows up and goes " hey you guys need help " and dev and millie agree to take this random kid's help and they start going through ballpits around hurricane in order to get out of the ballpit. yknow from the epilogues. uhhh in the meantime kelsey!! relives the day they died initially because they're a ghost from the 80's and decides they finally wanna get revenge so they join up with the rest of pit gang to get outta there so they can all finish up their business.
MEANWHILE larson is still getting involved in freddy's shenanigans and is investigating a bunch of very weird paranormal events around town being caused by certain dead characters NOT in the ballpit he gets leads from other characters connected to them, and this is where mick and shelly, who are both currently in college, come in. oswald later gets involved too due to his relation to the ballpit. ( shelly only really gets involved because she wants to figure out what happened to reed. ) idk what their endgame is yet but i promise i will figure it out!! uhhh at some point they run into connor, chuck and tabitha and that's a nod to ANOTHER au i have ( not important ) and they help out but they're not a MAJOR factor.
jake?? is kinda like the main antagonist?? but only in the sense that he's doing something that's not really helping because he thinks it's what's best for everyone. giving them happy memories so they don't have to realize they're dead sounded like a good plan to him but also uhh... there's some holes in those memories ( like what happened with devon and millie ) and he doesn't?? really know that. really he's just trying his best

If you know me at all, you know I'm cynical of real life romance but I'm a SUCKER for fictional romances...especially slow burns and friends to lovers or enemies to lovers.
That being said, it was only a matter of time before I started having shippy feels while watching the great adventure that is One Piece.
That brings me to my current top ship (which I doubt will ever NOT be top ship): Sanji and Nami.
I know, I know, Oda has stated many times that this isn't a story about romance and that this is about friendship and adventure and family. But, hear me out...why do those two things need to be separated? The answer is...they don't. The perfect example of this is the TV show, Friends. Romances bloom and die and finalize over the entirety of this show, and the friendships, although tested, do not fail and the family dynamic remains all the way through.
Many people tell me that the superior ship for Nami is with Luffy but I can't help but get the Joey and Rachel vibes when I think of it. They WORK, sure, and it's even really cute and funny...but they just don't...have the momentum to push past that friendship vibe into something else (I'm only in the Skypiea Arc so maybe my thoughts will adapt on this). Sanji and Nami give me Chandler snd Monica vibes (she's strict, he's a known womanizer, she doubts his genuine affection, but he IS capable of faithfulness, it's a slow and satisfying burn). Long thought short: Romance and friendship can and should go hand in hand without interrupting the plot of a story or drastically changing the dynamics of a group.
One Piece EXCELLS at this, in my opinion, with Sanji and Nami.
My observations supporting them are as follows:
1. Started out as comedy, but is slowly and steadily progressing to just plain endearing. I find myself less and less amused and much more happy about their interactions.
2. Sanji IS a gentleman in spite of his tendency towards being an irrepressible horn dog. More often than not, that chivalry is directed towards Nami (and every woman) but extends to his entire circle of people. He DOES have that Chandler Bing type potential to be domestic and loyal, he just needs someone to take him seriously. He's not simply trying to impress the ladies, he TRULY means to protect them and treat them well and it shows because he can and does back up his protectiveness.
3. Nami, for all her money lust, does genuinely care for her crewmates, complaining over and over about how much of a failure everything was since they got no treasure or money for their deeds. However, she ALWAYS chooses her crew in the end. Nami isn't just bossy or gold digging!
4. The. Honorifics. Used. In. The. Original. Japanese.
I'm gonna expand on this point specifically because when I noticed this, it actually changed me from a casual "aw, cute" shipper to a "Okay, this HAS to be endgame" shipper.
Honorifics in Japanese are very deliberate and each one means something very specific. The way these honorifics are used could be (and I hope, are) little sprinkles of foreshadowing because Sensei Oda loves to do that.
Chan - an honorific used in a cutesy, casual, playful way more often than not. It's often attached to a name of someone younger, someone you consider cute or endearing.
Kun - an honorific similar to chan but more commonly used for males. But when used by a female to a male, it can and often does signify a strong emotional attachment and familiarity.
San- an honorific that is still casual, but denotes respect and equality.
Here is how I noticed these being used by Sanji and Nami.
Chan: This is the most commonly used by Sanji. EVERY girl he meets is "Name-chan" squealed and gushed in all manner of wackiness. He genuinely does mean it when he says every girl is cute and endearing.
San: Nami-san. It's ALWAYS Nami-san. As of right now in my watch through, I have not heard Sanji call any other woman by this term (if he did, then please correct me). But even so, this basically means "Nami, who I respect and hold in higher regard than anyone around us including myself". He does mix this up and make it cutesy by using Nami-SWAN sometimes when he's less serious, but he RARELY ever says her name without adding the honorific of respect.
Kun- As far as I remember again, Nami exclusively uses this honorific with Sanji. At first it started as her way of using him for whatever she needed, her over dramatic way of dragging it out or saying it sweetly always got him running to do what she asked (he always does anyway, but whatever). But now, the addition is constant. "Sanji-kun" is her go to, almost always now, and it no longer holds that fake sweetness, it's just...natural to her.
I have heard told that very recently in the newest episodes Sanji has called Nami "MY Nami-San" which apparently he has never said before so that's cool but I haven't got there so I can't read into it too much yet.
Theese are details dub only watchers might miss!
There's a LOT more to unpack about them and why them getting together WOULD work and not disrupt the dynamic one bit. However...my hope is that thing continue like they are, small details that grow and change with them so you hardly even notice until you do, and then at the VERY end either they're confirmed or a very solid promise of confirmation is given. Slow burns are always the best.
Anyway....they're cute, I ship it hard, let my Strawhat babies be a family no matter that looks like ❤️
(This "little" observation got way longer than I intended...)

Project Breakdowns: other concepts
A collect-all post for the other ideas I have in mind for the project universe that haven't yet been fleshed out entirely, or exist mostly as loose concepts of "this happens sometime, does it need to be written?"
Masterpost here.
The Fall of Darekaeii
The Fall of Darekaeii is only in the concept stage.
In theory, it follows the Eagriss family, royal leaders of vel-Adreoni, at the end of Era 9, several years/decades after AAR, with specific focus on Adira Eagriss, the second oldest sibling. Some goals I have in mind for this, if I write it, is to explore Adira's "descent" in some capacity. How she grew up and grew into her family's worship of Morsanna (death goddess), and how that specifically led into her desire to overthrow her. How Nathan Shasear fits into the picture, and how he gave her the idea to "recreate" Darekaeii (and how he actually didn't mean for her to destroy it, he genuinely wanted to pose a challenge to the gods, but he gave the idea to a megalomaniac rich kid who wanted to become Death Herself...). Past that, I don't really know what the plan is for this one!
Theoretical Short Story/Collection: "Anti-Fascism is Dirty Work"
Theoretical story that takes place during Red Death's War and follows Aetherian Councilman 32 aka "Ris," a double-agent serving the Aetherian rebellion and the Mercishan-Alcairon Intelligence Alliance against the New Aetherian Empire.
Technically, it could start in 2036 E-10 when he and Alkaline Aviligne run into each other and Ris's identity is found out... but whether that gets written at all is up in the air (Al is a regular character in this theoretical work, though). Lots of spy stuff, secretly traded military info, and messages swapped back and forth between the Aetherian rebellion and the MAIA. Covers either 2037-2040 and 2042-2047 respectively OR focuses just on 2042-2047, which is the 5-year lockdown of Aetheria maxima.
MDCD: Auran
Synposis pulled from my Milanote:
The Metropolitan Disaster Control Department is a modern addendum to the police force and has several main categories: Psychological Services, Armed and Dangerous Response, Deescalation Response, and Tactical Response. Tactical and ADR are the armed members of the department, DR tends to vary on a situational basis. The story takes place in the 2010s of Era 10.
This is a story I have tentatively revived from my early teen years because the characters are near and dear to my heart - but I say "tentatively" because it has the potential to come off as as pro-cop/police, which wasn't the intention with which it was written originally, nor is it the intention now. MDCD:A is about members of a militarized police force that realize their purpose has been overwritten and that they're doing the dirty work for corrupt fascists - aka, the people and ideas they were supposed to be fighting the civil war against.
Specifically, it's about Vin Hawkes, James "Ink" Sullivan (one of his first calls ended with him covered in ink from an exploded box of pens, don't ask), and Vivienne Malone and the friends they went into the force with as they learn the truth about their boss and their government and either choose to stand by them, or choose to continue to fight fascism and tyranny and leave West Auran.
Vin chooses to leave, spoiler. James is actually a spy and he's the one who gets her out. Vivi... I haven't decided yet. She was a spy and a journalist in the original things I wrote when I was 13, though, and I have one of those mental animatics in my head that frames their goodbye in the context of "For Good" from Wicked (yes, Vin and Vivi are at least a little queer. I haven't decided if they're endgame yet or not though). MDCD:A is entirely unwritten, but is technically in its conceptual stages.

Here’s how Falin can still win
Tumblr media
This post is a mix of theorizing, theme analysis, and heartfelt arguing for Falin's survival in response to the question: how the hell are our protagonists going to get out of this one? As of chapter 82, things look pretty dire. Marcille is bound to a demon, the dungeon is on the verge of going nuclear, and we're no closer to saving Falin than we were before. But I don't think that means Falin is doomed. In fact, I think Falin has an extremely important role to play in the endgame: she's going to end up as the dungeon master.
First I'm going to argue that things are not as dire for Falin as they seem, and there are a bunch of plot points with her that aren't finished. Then I'm going to talk about what a "happy ending" might look like, some of the options the characters have available, and how I think Falin could help resolve the current crisis. If you're in the mood to read almost 2000 words of DM ending speculation, please read on, and I'll sell you on my reasoning.
Letting go of the dead is a lesson for Marcille
...But not for anyone else. A common type of story is this: characters spend story trying to resurrect a dead person, only to discover along the way that their quest is futile. You can't fight death. Accept that your loved one has died, and move on. While that outcome is possible, I don't think it would be very satisfying. That would be focusing exclusively on one party member's issues. As much as I love Marcille, and find her dilemma of knowing she will outlive all her friends incredibly compelling, this is an issue that SHE struggles with. Chilchuck is a middle-aged guy with kids who doesn't know what he would do with a longer lifespan. Senshi has spent years grappling with the sacrifices of his companions. And Laios... well, as much as Kabru wonders if he's the do-anything-to-save-his-sister type, that hasn't really been his behaviour so far. He'll go to great lengths for Falin, sure, but he also understands the idea of sacrifice and honouring the dead, as much as it's often played for jokes:
Tumblr media
He doesn't need to learn this as a lesson, so ending with that “lesson” would feel hollow. But beyond that, I think Falin herself has more to do in the story, because...
Falin hasn’t gotten her punchline yet
The foreshadowing in Dungeon Meshi often operates like the humour--important facts are established long before you have context for them, only to be re-incorporated as a reveal in a "punchline" some time later. Think Senshi being in the dungeon for ten years, or Marcille's family being court wizards, or Marcille's familiar, or... anything about Marcille. With that in mind, there are several major points about Falin that have yet to be resolved.
1. Falin has a special connection to the dead
Quick, what can Falin do that no one else can? That's right, she can communicate with spirits. The non-spellcasting party members don't have context for how unusual this is, but Marcille considers her to be operating on a completely different level of magic:
Tumblr media
Her “way with spirits” comes up a lot. It's on the cover of volume 5. Despite the amount of focus her powers have received, their relevance to the story has been limited to... making sorbet. Talking to a ghost once. And after the ghost-talking chapter, it's hammered in AGAIN with a flashback to putting a ghost to rest in her childhood. Why all the emphasis, when her powers have yet to move the plot in any meaningful way?
2. Falin has a special connection to the dungeon
Falin's current predicament indirectly results from Marcille's forbidden magic ritual. Resurrection magic seems to follow the laws of thermodynamics, generally, just with this additional "magic energy" element (i.e. you can't create something from nothing). Marcille ducked around this process with demonic magic. How, exactly, did she do that?
Tumblr media
She made Falin part of the dungeon--just for a second. Isn't that a strikingly specific explanation? Now, that could be to explain Thistle's ability to control her, but if it's just for that, we already had the dragon's flesh being used for the ritual. Being combined with the dungeon suggests a much bigger, much more powerful idea. The dungeon, after all, runs on an infinite, inter-dimensional stream of demonic energy. Connecting her to the dungeon means connecting her to that demon... lion... goat... thing. And there's some evidence that's exactly what's going on.
3. Falin has new powers post-resurrection
Tumblr media
After Falin comes back to life, she feels like there’s “energy welling up from inside of her”. Resurrection is supposed to drain your mana, but not only does she have mana to spare, she can instantly and effortlessly cast powerful protection spells. This also hasn't been followed up on--she got bodyjacked by Thistle before they could. Again, you could write this off as foreshadowing that Falin is part dragon, but if so, it's strange that neither the red dragon nor monster-Falin have used any spells, even when seriously injured.  (ETA: as pointed out by a helpful user in the notes, monster Falin does use magic in her fight scene. But it isn’t a red dragon property, so I think this remains odd/unresolved.)
So we have several points that seem like they’re setting up... something. Some future magic that Falin hasn’t yet gotten to do. But then again, none of that matters at the moment, because she’s been fused with a hostile monster, killed, and stuck in an ice cube. Even if she’s brought back to life, they’re right back to where they started. Or are they?
Falin’s body might be untenable, but her soul is fine
To put it bluntly, the gang’s current plan to resurrect Falin is... implausible. Even if they were able to eat all that dragon meat, this resurrection has a lot of complications. None of the serious injuries she’s sustained have been healed, her organs are in her dragon half, and Marcille’s gone rogue. Not to mention that resurrection plans that are stated on screen, historically, have gone horribly wrong. And they can’t just heal the monster body, because it requires more energy than Falin’s human-sized mouth can easily consume. It’s not a complete write-off, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely they will be able to physically separate her from the dragon as they’re intending.
That said, there's a good chance her soul is perfectly intact and unharmed. Why? Well, Falin's dragon blender dilemma has been compared to Izutsumi's cat-person status. The two creatures have been scrambled together, and are now impossible to separate. Or so everyone seems to think--in the succubus chapter Izutsumi realizes this:
Tumblr media
So despite having been combined with a cat her entire life, the two souls are distinct. So distinct that you can only cast magic on one soul at a time. Hey, remember that time they cast a teleportation spell on Izutsumi, and she suddenly started behaving like a cat? And then she was teleported back, and suddenly back to normal, embarrassed about her earlier behaviour? In hindsight, doesn't that seem an awful lot like the teleportation spell only targeted one of her souls? The rest of the cast don't have the benefit of hindsight, by the way, because Izutsumi went to sleep immediately after the situation was resolved and (as far as we know) didn't tell them what she learned.
In conclusion, physically separating Falin from the dragon: very difficult. Separating Falin's soul from the dragon: possibly extremely easy, assuming you had someone who could easily cast a teleportation spell--
Tumblr media
🤔
The Winged Lion has to go, but the dungeon has to stay
Our heroes are probably going to eat the Winged Lion. It's Dungeon Meshi, you can't introduce a monster without people thinking about how to prepare it. Hey, look at this completely unrelated panel of Kabru butchering a sheep during the Mithrun flashback chapter.
Tumblr media
That lion/goat is gonna get got. But despite that, I don't think the dungeon itself will be destroyed. For one thing, it's been established there are sentient beings living in the dungeon who have nowhere else to go. And if we consider Kabru's backstory, destroying the dungeon would be an extremely bad outcome that would probably kill the entire cast. Plus, the dungeon is an ecosystem. We've spent 10+ volumes discovering the weird and wonderful inter-dependencies between the flora and fauna in there, learning to appreciate monsters, and the way their traits are part of the circle of life. This seems like a positive system, or at least a morally-neutral one.
The real problem with dungeons seems to be the "dungeon growth" caused by demons--they're looking for tasty adventurers to consume, and so pour energy into expanding the dungeon past capacity to cultivate individual hopes and dreams. If it weren't for demons luring adventurers, the dungeon would probably just keep on trucking as it is. Though we might need a replacement for demonic energy.
Falin is a dungeon-crafting prodigy
Unfortunately, the current dungeon master is Marcille. Apart from that boding ill for her, she just isn’t very good at ecology. She creates cool but poorly-functioning creatures like mushrooms with flower sprouts, and the Winged Lion is padding the gaps with magic. Which makes sense--before this adventure, most of her dungeon knowledge was theoretical. Plus she’s extremely squeamish about death, so she just doesn’t have a good sense of these little details. And this isn’t the first time this has come up:
Tumblr media
Back in chapter 17, we saw a flashback of Falin and Marcille’s first encounter at school. The class is supposed to build a “dungeonium”, a tiny magic terrarium sustained by the user’s magic--a protective magical barrier, if we’re being specific. Marcille manages to keep her sprites alive, but Falin, a poor student, creates unprecedented magical growth by mimicking the dungeon she spends all her time in:
Tumblr media
Now, at the point this chapter appears, there is some (imo intentional) trickery going on with how big a deal this is. Chilchuck focuses on Marcille being the greatest student in the school’s history, which gives the impression that during this event Marcille was a student who happened to be enough of a keener to also be a TA--in other words, that she and Falin are peers. In fact, as Falin mentions in a later flashback, Marcille has been studying for “decades”. Even then, Falin is able to immediately outclass her based on her own instinct of how this magic is supposed to feel, and how it already works in the real world. I really wonder if this isn’t just telling us how the story is going to end. Marcille has the theory, but Falin loves nature. She can generously share magic without an ulterior motive, is interested in everything about the natural world, can form protective barriers and cultivate sprites, understands the food chain, and can help spirits pass on.
tl;dr
Falin has a bunch of important, powerful magical abilities that have yet to come up, that could potentially be used to save the world while allowing the dungeon ecosystem to survive. Also, there’s at least one method which could be used to separate her from the dragon which could be done very easily, has been shown to work onscreen, but that none of the cast have brought up/realized.
Does all this mean that Falin is going to be totally fine and back to normal? No, I wouldn’t go that far. I go back and forth on whether she’s going to survive, and what I just pitched could potentially have her end up as a disembodied ghost (personally I’m leaning “apotheosis” but I’m not giving up hope). But whether or not she dies, I’m predicting she’s going to be back in a big way before the end of the story, and play a major role in the endgame. She’s our hope for fixing the stagnation in the dungeon, she’s our best friend, she is our dungeon master.

Fanfiction recommendations
Tumblr media
Hi,
since I was desperately searching for a specific fanfiction the other day, I decided to list down my favorite fanfictions.
Since I also have to search again for the fanfictions I've read before and found incredibly awesome, they will collect here bit by bit. So it's worth the wait... I think.
(My mother language isn't english, so if you find any errors, please let me know :) )
Please note that I am a female and this are fanfictions I've already read. Therefore these HAVE ALL A FEMALE OC. I will be adding a category with fanfiction I personally haven't read but sounded very promising. No matter the gender of the OC or preferences etc...
On this list are only longer fanfictions!
The list with my recommendet OneShots, Imagines etc. will follow in a few days (hopefully)
Mostly this fanfictions are from sides like AO3 or Fanfiction.com.
Don't forget to always look at the warnings! Some of these have explicit content / trigger warnings / or other important stuff!
Also, don't forget that reviews to the authors are always appreciated!

Harmless *NEW* from shurisneakers on AO3 (OC | Reader)
A very funny fanfiction with villian!reader, who is not quite as evil as they think. A story full of humor and sarcasm with a lot of 'Bucky-is-so-done-with-this-shit'

1970s Bounty Hunter!Bucky and Bounty Hunter!OC AU
Bucky and OC are actually in the same agency, but can't stand each other. But when they get an assignment together, the chaos is perfect. 18+ only!!!
About 120.000 words.
The storyline is very exciting and the character and relationship development is also very good. An enemies to lover story, which has captivated me. With AUs I always love to discover which role, which Marvel characters play ;)
Broken Chances *NEW* by amethyst_flame on AO3 (OC | Reader)
An adorable Bucky healing fanfiction with a sugary sweet relationship between the two and super well written character development of Bucky. Not too unrealistically fast, but not too slow that you feel like you're not progressing.
About 230.000 words.
I loved this story so much! Ups and downs, sad!Bucky, happy!Bucky, Bucky needs a hug , this story has everything that anyone who reads Bucky-healing-fanfics wants! And omg the evolution of Bucky from a broken individual to a happy man is sooo indescribable!
Loki Laufeyson
Lucky the Cat from LokiismyfavouriveAvenger on AO3 (OC | Reader)
A cute little story about a girl who finds a cat few days after the battle of NY and starts to feed it and keep it.
About 14.000 words.
This was so cute and lovely... I think you can guess what's up with the cat. Let's say... this is exactly how I imagine Loki as a cat ;)
Mischief, Meet Your Match *NEW* by The_Sad_Hatter on AO3 (OC | Reader)
The reader just happens to land on a little adventure with Loki. While the Avengers desperately try to get reader back, reader and Loki have to team up to destroy a common enemy and get closer and closer in the process…. ;) Reader btw, is never referred to as (y/n), but is always paraphrased. That always impresses me.
About 125.000 words.
The character and relationship development is written so incredibly well and realistically. And the story with the new enemy is well thought out and written very exciting. A great fanfiction that I still think about often.
Teen Wolf
Isaac Lahey
Breathe for Me from Deliahscrush2003 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
In this a sarcastic and funny human OC hits Derek Hale with a car. Start in season 1 but already with Isaac in it. OC plays a big part in everyone's life.
About 107.000 words
I liked this OC a lot, because in many ways I could understand her and was her opinion. An she is so well an funny written. The typical teen wolf sarcasm is very prominent here. That's important.
Stardew Valley
Shane
The Side Effects of Life from JustSoYoungK21 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
A surprisingly deep story about Shane who gets better with the help of the OC/farmer.
About 129.000 words.
It was just so well written and emotional and so deep. Trigger warnings for some sensitiv subjects but the author wrote so realisticly yet but the author has brought these issues into this story so realistically and respectfully... i loved it. I still love it.
On the Way to a Smile from Smileplease91 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
Another Shane fanfiction about his road to recovery including an OC/farmer. Shanes background and why he has depressions is written like I've never seen before. Please look at the Trigger Warnings for this.

Another story where an OC/farmer helps Shane heal? Maybe, but amazing nontheless. Definitly worth reading.
Sunshine Through Dark Clouds from Diggy on AO3 (OC | Reader)
A very good and funny written story that doesn't start at the beginning of the game. It doesn't only focus on Shane and OC, no, Sam is playing a big role, too.
About 55.000 words.
This story was the first 'big' story I read of Stardew Valley and this part of the summary was, what catched me: 'Before there was Shane, there was Sam.' Lovely story about love an friendship.
Sebastian
Like You're the Only One in the Room from CSMarton63 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
Here the farmer/OC has an interesting past and reason to live on the farm. Because this is secret to dear old Sebastian, I also won't spoiler much ;).
About 188.000 words.
Very cute story about our favourite emo boy, with a focus on OC/farmer but a lot of realistic Sebastian in it. Loved it.
Alex
The Jock and the Rockstar from pandariia on AO3 (OC | Reader)
In here the farmer/OC is hopelessly in love with Sam (trust me, it's about Alex tho), but he's into Penny. So out of desperation she starts something with Alex. Classical friends with benefits to something more but with looots of dramaaaa!
Warning! Frequent explicit content! About 60.000 words.
I loved to read it and ngl Alex is so smooth in this fanfic. It let me see Alex in another light...
Sherlock
Sherlock Holmes
The Devil's Chord from jdschmidtwriter on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
This is not a Sherlock/OC story! Well, kinda, because I can tell the second part of the series (wich I haven't had time to read yet sadly) will go in this direction. Until then, Sherlock and John come to know the OC in a case, where she is not only an unwillingly part of, but Sherlock also learns that there is more behind her fassade of a strict business woman...
About 100.000 words.
This. Was. Brilliant. The case was not only wirtten on a true Sherlock-level but also the relationship between Sherlock an John (purely platonic) was described to well (looot's of bickering). Personally, I think it is great that the Sherlock/OC thing ist not until the second part , because let's be honest... It's Sherlock Holmes. The sociopath. No feelings and all this. But in this 100.000 word story- they get to know each other, they get to unterstand each other. And they have more in common that they think will ever be possible... I really have to read the next part of the series!
Jim Moriarty
Game Changer from Rockabella Suzy on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
Moriarty needs a new human bomb and the completely ordinary woman he chooses doesn't seem so ordinary any more. Who makes the rules in the new game?
About 20.000 words.
To be perfectly honest... it's been a while since I read this story and I can't remember the details of it well, but I know I think about it from time to time and it left positive impressions. I definitly have to read it again some time...
Mycroft Holmes
God Save the Queen from Polkadottedgiraffe11 on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
In the Final Problem Mycroft's best kept secret is about to be exposed. But what or better WHO is this secret?
About 20.000 words.
(For me) a relatively short, but endearing fanfiction, about the ice-cold Mycroft, who has more warmth inside than it seems on the outside...
Sons of Anarchy
Jax Teller
Fly by night from barefootblonde on AO3 (OC | Reader)
In this case, the OC was Opie's stepsister. She is a lawyer in her Dad's porn studio. Kinda something like a Hate(but not really) to Love story but with lot's of twists and very very good written.
Warning! Frequent explicit content! About 360.000 words (!!!!).
This was a beautiful story, with very serious topics, but also a lot of really cute scenes and it was just a pleasure to read!
Serendipity from untilmynextsrory on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
The OC- tied to the club by family- comes back to Charming. Again. Because when she visited a short time ago, a heated encounter with Jax Teller caused a major turn in her life and that of the club....
About 95.000 words.
A very sweet fanfiction about family, love and what it means to be associated with the Sons of anarchy. Very nice to read and the background, thoughts and fears of the OC were very well presented and understandable. Directly read through in one go!
Abel Teller
First Son, Cursed Son from wanderinggypsyfeet on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
The main character of this story is our OC Willow Winston, the daughter of Opie and Layla Winston. Therefor the fanfiction takes place a few years after the events in Sons of Anarchy. Everything is great - well, as great as it can be in Charming - but when suddenly new dangers threaten and a long-lost acquaintance wants to know more about his family. Abel Teller.
About 75.000 words.
This wonderful fanfiction was ... indescribable to read. I'm not usually so keen on 'next generation fanfiction', but I definitely have to make an exception here. Not to mention the fact that a Winston-Teller combination in the future is bittersweet and makes me smile with tears in my eyes, so this story is also great writing and the storyline remains exciting and varied. Highly recommended.
Juice Ortiz
Taste of innocence from Venomis on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
Juice didn't start his life as a prospect well at all. Not only does he have to scrub toilets and do the dirty work, he also mistakes Chibs' daughter for a croweater. Ups and downs in their relationship make for an exciting story line and a great amount of 'Awkward Juice' actually give this fan fiction everything Juice fans want to read.
About 45.000 words.
This fanfiction is still very close to my heart. I loved the awkward Juice in this story and even though both Juice and OC do some stupid things here, I just wanted to keep reading and reading and reading...
Saints Row
Johnny Gat
Unsaintly from robert_downey_jr on AO3 (OC | Reader)
In this story the OC is and isn't the player. Instead of the player waking up from a coma, he died. However, this player was the brother of the OC who immediately takes on the role of the player in the further course of the game. It starts with the OC saving Johnny Gat from prison and continues through the rest of the Saints Row series.
About 129.000 words.
This was a fun fanfiction of a game I really liked the characters. This story was at some points deep, emotional, but also funny and very well written.
ATLA
Zuko
Sunburn from WritingRagdoll on AO3 (OC | Reader)
Refreshing slow-burn story about a daughter of a fire nation colonies governor who starts travel with a dear fire nation prince. Chaos endures and friendships start.
About 206.000 words.
I like ATLA fanfictions because even though the main plot can be viewed as dark, the characters never fail to make me laugh and in this fanfiction the banters between the prince and the OC are just perfect for that..
Twilight
Jacob Back
Silence of the Flower from TMNTfanf1 on Fanfiction.com (OC | Reader)
While Jacob wants no one but Bella, the imprinting puts a crimp in his plans. And that, of all things, on the mute Lilly Fuller, known throughout the school and regarded with strange looks. But not only his 'true love' for Bella makes the imprint difficult, but also the reason behind Lilly's silence...
About 80.000 words.
Even though I'm not the biggest Twilight fan, I really like the imprint stories with Jacob. IThe whole Bella-and-then-Renesmee thing doesn't sit right with me. So it makes me very happy when he turns his back on it all to give attention to someone other than a member of the Cullens. Sweetly written and a lovable main character.
Paul Lahote
Love is Flowerlike from NotDeadYet16 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
The main character is Meadow Black, Jacob's older sister. You might think that this is a typical imprinting story, but some twists and turns, a wonderful writing style and a (at least for me) very likeable main character made sure that I read this fanfiction in record time.
About 95.000 words.
Personally, I still have very detailed memories of this fanfiction, even though it's been some time since I read it. I love that I-don't-give-a-fuck-about-Paul-Lahote attitude that the OC has at the beginning, and that as the story progresses, you see more and more of Paul creeping into her heart. And not unrealistically fast and also with much resistance, which was also very funny to read.
Alec Volturi
The Odd One Out from Starra_Uchiha44 on AO3 (OC | Reader)
Here a new species is introduced in the world of Twilight: Witches. And it's realistic, logical and not too overpowered. Even though witches are fundamentally the stronger species here. Our OC, though a native witch, is not quite what we imagine at first glance. For centuries, vampires and witches have negotiated a peace treaty. But certain circumstances make the OC travel to Volterra, where she inevitably meets Alec, her mate, which of course brings some problems...
About 140.000 words.
A very lovable fanfiction with lots of great twists in the story and well thought out puzzles and exciting scenes by the author, where you really want to know who is behind it. I was fascinated by the details written with love, which of course were also necessary when you have such a gigantic ... I say 'OC community' reinvented. And the author did it so incredibly well! Everything makes sense and was (for this world of course) realistically included without interrupting the rest of the strand of Twilight. It was very enjoyable to read...
...more coming...
just busy at this moment... shoudn't take long...
I read fanfiction DAILY, so there should be regular updates :)

Do you think there's a possibility that D0nnie will happen before we get our Caryl endgame? I mean like we had to endure the Tobin, Ezekiel and Leah nonsense? I really believe that Carol and Daryl are made for eachother, that they are eachothers soulmates and that they no matter who or what are destined to be together...
But I really don't want Daryl to be with anyone else before he will end up with Carol. I just want Daryl to have romantic feelings for Carol only. There's alot of spoilers going around and I'm trying really hard to ignore them, but one thing that got stuck in my head is a spoiler saying that Carol and Daryl will mend their relationship in ep 10... what do you think about that? I mean their fight is obviously not just based on the cave incident, it has so much more to it, so for them to mend because C0nnie is back doesn't make any sense to me.
Understand first that Daryl and Carol are different characters with different emotional capacities. Without going too deep into her reasoning for being with Tobin and Ezekiel, Carol is a little bit more traditional in the sense that she is able to be in other relationships first without it minimizing how she feels deep down about Daryl.
Daryl is a bit more complex. Though there's been some debate lately, I still maintain he's a 'one love only' kind of person. Him being with Leah is still consistent with that if you consider the circumstances. Carol was absent, Daryl was lonely and grieving, Leah foils Carol. Emotionally, Daryl's heart belonged to Carol before, during, and after Leah even if he wasn't aware of it. His relationship with Leah may have come out of left field and I don't necessarily like it, but because it was so specific to a low point in Daryl's life, I can buy it. Connie, I don't buy. Not one bit because it goes against everything we can infer based on contextual evidence about his character. If Daryl is ready to embrace a future and Carol is present in his life, he's not going to test the waters with Connie first and realize down the line she wasn't right for him and he'd rather be with Carol instead. He's just not wired that way. Obviously I'm not AK or SG, so I can't say for sure what they're going to do, but if I'm following the story correctly and have a decent understanding of Daryl's character, then I say, no, Donnie makes no sense. From a marketing point of view also, why alienate Carylers by making Donnie canon if you need to keep them invested for the spinoff?
I wouldn't think too hard about the spoilers that are going around because one, we don't even know what's true and what's not for ep. 10 yet and two, even "real" spoilers can be very misleading. I agree that Caryl's fight is about so much more than Connie and because it was made to be such a huge deal for so long, that absolutely calls for payoff. Unfortunately, as much as it annoys me to no end, Kang loves her subtlety, so we might just have to look for those nuances on screen to make it make sense. For example, they may be acting like things are okay, but there's still more beneath the surface that has to come out later.

re: that ask you posted a couple days ago about the male and female representation in RWBY, part of what makes RWBY's whole 'girl power' thing ring exceptionally hollow to me is the fact that there are like... no women in positions of real power in remnant. like at all. except the big bad.
winter is second in command to james. glynda is second in command to ozpin. all of the headmasters are men (for no discernible reason, imo; why theodore and not dorothea?). the leader of the ace ops was a white man (and then winter seemed to take over clover's position instead of either of the women of color on the team, and she was still second to james). RWBY is an all girl team, but JNPR was led by a boy despite a girl arguably being far more qualified (pyrrha). the happy huntresses are all women, and robyn had no real power to speak of--she didn't even manage to win the election, because jacques rigged it, and then the council ceased to matter. there was one (1) woman on the council, but she was so inconsequential that i can't even remember her name. (i suppose we're lucky it was the guy and not her who james shot lol) jacques controls the SDC instead of willow, even though he's not even a schnee by blood and actually married into the family for power. (and we don't even know how he got it over his wife.)
and then there's the white fang, which ghira led and not kali--and it's ghira who leads menagerie itself, while kali seems to be a housewife. sienna had five minutes of screentime before being brutally killed and her position assumed by adam, a man. cordovin is basically a one off lackey we haven't even thought about before or since. neo was second to roman. you have cinder, sure, who is a second but to salem, a woman, and raven as the leader of the branwen tribe--but what does it really say about your 'girl power' narrative when the only women with genuine systemic power in your world are villains or antagonists with massive bodycounts??
atla has the same sort of problem--a couple great female characters, but all the leadership positions are men (except the kyoshi warriors, an all girls group, and even then the leader of their island is an old man) and the one female mentor figure also turns out to be evil--but it at least has some great writing to help overlook that fact, and it came out in the mid-00's and so has some sort of excuse of being a product of its time. but rwby didn't even start until 2013 and it's still going and still making these kinds of decisions well into 2021.
where is this supposed girl power, exactly? am i really supposed to overlook the very patriarchal worldbuilding just because the title characters are girls?
That's an excellent summary of the situation, anon, and as with so much in RWBY, it comes down to the full context. Any one of these examples isn't necessarily going to mean much on its own. It's when you look at the pattern that you can start making a case for those conclusions: Why is the show marketed on "girl power" set in a world where men hold the vast majority of that power? And, more importantly, why is that setup not the point? We could easily have a story where that lopsided gender dynamic is the problem that the girls are looking to fix, but... that story doesn't exist. Like the problems discussed with Jaune, the supposed point here exists only on the surface. Dig just the tinniest bit — the above — and you hit on a lot of structural problems with this "girl power" world.
To add just a few details to what you've already said:
Salem indeed has power, but she's never allowed to fully use it. Each volume the frustration with this grows as Salem accumulates more abilities and then just sits on them. From literally hiding out for a thousand years to worries that she won't use the Staff in Volumes 9-10, Salem really isn't allowed to be the threat she's presented as on the surface. And yes, this is absolutely due in part to the "She's too OP and the writers don't know how to let her be that powerful while still having the heroes win" issue, but again, context. That problem doesn't exclude others occurring simultaneously.
Same double explanation with Summer. Yes, dead moms are an incredibly common trauma to dump on a protagonist, but it still left Yang and Ruby with Tai as their primary influence. And Qrow. The uncle becomes the extended family influence while Raven is the absent one/eventual antagonist. It's personal power as opposed to political power, but Tai, Qrow, Ozpin, formerly James... most of the mentors are men. Maria, a key exception, has been ignored in that regard. The story announced that she was Qrow's inspiration, setup her being Ruby's new mentor, and then... nothing. Nothing has come of that. She disappeared for a volume and then went off to Amity and was literally forgotten by the story when evacuating everyone was the finale's whole point.
Like that Endgame moment I mentioned, the Happy Huntresses feel a little too forced to me. Yes, it's the same basic idea as in ATLA, but ATLA, as you say, has a lot more going for it. The Happy Huntresses feel... on the nose? Idk exactly how to explain it. Like, "Here they are! Another team of all women! Isn't this how progressive storytelling works? Just ignore how this is a one-off team of minor characters compared to the world building issues discussed above." And if you're not paying attention, you miss just how insignificant they are, with a side of Robyn being, well, Robyn. The Kyoshi Warriors, at least, are based off of Kyoshi. A woman avatar who is a significant part of their history. That is, presumably, why they're an all women warrior group (but who notably still teach Sokka). The Happy Huntresses are all huntresses because...? There's no reason except that meta "We want to look progressive" explanation. Just like having all the women superheroes team up for a hot second so people get excited and ignore the representation problems across, what? 21 films? Don't get me wrong, I love that May is among the Happy Huntresses. I think including her in the explicitly all-women group was one of the better things RWBY has done in a long time, but the rest is still a mess.
RWBY is arguably about these smaller groups as opposed to systematic power (despite the writers trying to work that in with things like the White Fang and the election. Not to mention the implication that everything in Atlas is fine now that evil Ironwood has died and taken the symbol of wealth (the city) with him. We saw a human holding hands with a faunus after all. Racism and corruption solved, I guess.) So yes, our group is dominated by women... but Whitley is the one saving Nora, helping to defeat the Hound (plus Willow), thinking of the airships, and providing the blueprints they need to escape. Salem is our Big Bad, except Ironwood is the one the volume focuses on. Ruby is our leader, but Jaune is the one leading the group into the whale and getting praised for how heroic he is. Ren does more to shake things up, even if he's painted as the one in the wrong. Oscar gets to confront Salem and destroys the whale threat. Ozpin provides the information they need to evacuate. Meanwhile, when the girls do things in Volume 8 it's almost always followed by a long-stint of passiveness. Nora opens the door so she can be unconscious for most of the volume. Penny keeps Amity up so she can also be unconscious for a good chunk of time. Ruby sends her message and then sits in a mansion. Blake fights so she can tearfully beg Ruby to save her. Weiss, as said, takes a backseat to Whitley (and Klein). They forward the plot, absolutely, but comparatively it doesn't feel like enough.
It's that pattern then, no one specific example. More and more the personal power, not just the systematic power already built into Remnant, seems to be coming from the men. Not all the time, but enough that scenes like the tea drinking moment feel like a part of a much larger problem. Pietro taking control, Watts hacking, and Ambrosius literally remaking her when Penny is supposed to already be in control of herself and her fate. Winter being presented as the active mentor to Weiss, only to turn around and claim that Ironwood was actually responsible for everything. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and May straight up commenting on how awful things are out there while Yang, Jaune, Ren, and Oscar lead the charge against Salem — with the latter three doing the most to forward that mission (no fear, semblance, cane). As others have only half-joked, Yang's supposedly badass moment was bringing up a mother she's ignored for six volumes and briefly blowing up the immortal woman for a couple of seconds (with Ironwood's bombs). Even Marrow is arguably the most significant Ace Op after Clover. Vine isn't actually a character, Elm slightly less so, Harriet is there to go crazy and try to drop a bomb (notably before admitting to never-before-existed feelings for Clover), but Marrow? He's the one who breaks out. Who is meant to heroically stand up against Ironwood. Who comments on how awful it is that teenagers are fighting and, regardless of how messed up the moral messages are, is supposedly pushing for active change while all the women in his group, including Winter, insist on maintaining the status quo. Look at all these choices as a whole, it makes throwaway worldbuilding choices like "All the Maidens are women" feel pretty hollow. Why does it matter if Amber is a Maiden if she dies in a flashback so Ozpin can struggle to pass on the power? If Pyrrha dies before becoming one so Jaune can angst about it? If Raven is one and then disappears from the story entirely? If Winter has enough power to break Ironwood's aura, but supposedly had no power throughout every other choice she made getting here? If Penny is one, but is continually controlled by men and then asks another man to help her die? It's just really unconvincing, once you look past the surface excitement of a woman looking cool with magic powers.
When you do consider the whole of the story — both in terms of our world building and who is forwarding the plot in the latter volumes, getting the emotional focus, being proactive, etc. — there are a lot of problems that undermine the presumed message RT wants to write. They say, "girl power" by marketing RWBY with these four women, but too many of the storytelling decisions thoroughly undermine that, revealing what's likely a deeply ingrained, subconscious bias.

Hi! Congratulations on 200 followers 💝💝💝
Can I request a Pietro Maximoff x Reader (MCU version hehe, just incase)? I'll give an outline of the request below 💗
• Pietro survives AOU, and fic is set in Endgame time.
• Pietro got snapped (😔), and the fic would basically be him and (Y/n) reuniting in Endgame.
You can decide what specific scenario works best for you, I don't want to make anything too long or complicated on you 😊 If you don't want to write that, then any Pietro x Reader story would be amazing! It can be fem reader or gender neutral, I don't mind 💗💗💗 thank you!!
Since You’ve Been Gone
Tumblr media
A/n: I hurt my own feelings while writing this. I can’t believe you dropped such an amazing request. Anyways forgive me for any inconsistancies, its been while since i watched Infinity War. Anyways thank you for the amazing request luv 💖 It was so fun to write
“Is it too late to go back to our nice warm apartment?”
You exited the plane with Pietro into Wakanda.
He looked over at you and smiled, “I think this is a lot more fun.”
It was not fun. In fact it was the opposite of fun. Aliens were coming to earth.
The last time this happened was 2012, and you hadn’t been an avenger back then so you had nothing to worry about.
Now not only were you an avenger now, but you had a boyfriend who almost died during the last ‘World threatening situation’ in Sokovia.
Even worse, what the aliens came for just so happened to be Vision.
So no, this is not very fun.
Pietro noticed your gaze darken as Steve and the others discussed the situation with T’Challa.
He nudged you gently.
You looked over at him while trying very hard to not betray how terribly you thought this would end.
He gently brought his hand up to cradle your face. “Its going to be ok.”
You leaned into his hand a little bit. You weren’t as big on pda as he was, but you needed the comfort.
“Of course it is,” You forced a small smile, trying to reassure both him and yourself, “We are the avengers after all.”
————————————
You stood inside and tried to stay to the side as Visions fate was discussed. The issue from what you perceived was that there was too little time for a time consuming procedure.
Pietro was not at your side at the moment as he comforted his sister. If this procedure failed, Vision would die.
Your mind was going twice as fast as it had been at your arrival as every possibility of what could go wrong crossed your mind.
Natasha looked over from where she stood and saw that you were in one of those moods.
Excusing herself from the conversation, she walked over to where you were fretting.
You gave her a nod to acknowledge her, but didn’t say anything.
You two stood in silence for awhile as you continued to ponder the weight of the situation.
“Its going to be okay. It always seems to be in these situations.”
You felt your anxiety ease as she said it. Of course it didn’t fade completely but Natasha was always so sure when she said something that you couldn’t help but believe her.
When you joined the avengers she had become a sort of mentor figure to you. It was instinctual for you to trust her advice.
You just prayed to yourself that she was correct.
——————————
So far so good.
Thats a lie it was not going good.
There were far more aliens than you thought there would be and even with your powers and the Wakandan warriors and all the other avengers you found yourself overwhelmed. You had lost track of Wanda and Vision a while ago and the only sign you saw of Pietro had been the flash of him speeding past.
No matter how hard you tried to stay positive that everything would turn out ok, you couldn’t believe yourself anymore.
Thor had shown up at some point and he was dominating the battlefield where he stood but you must have been in a polar opposite location from him because it felt like for every 10 aliens you took down, there were 20 in their place.
You felt a gust of wind behind you.
“Are you ok over here?” He sounded out of breath.
You took down another alien. “Oh yeah, I’m doing just dandy.” You grunted as you grappled with another. “This is definitely more fun then staying home.”
There was heavy frustration and sarcasm in your tone and Piet just gave you a quick peck on the cheek before rushing off again.
——————————
Something was wrong.
Something was horribly, terribly wrong.
You could feel it in the air. It shook you straight through your bones.
You needed to find Piet.
You started sprinting to where you last saw him, the sense of urgency deepening within you. Your mind was falling into void at the sense of how wrong everything felt.
As you ran you saw the warriors falling to dust around you.
Was that going to happen to you?
You felt your heart rise to your throat as you started to panic.
Where was Piet?
“I’m here.”
You crashed into his chest holding him in a hug. You squeezed your eyes shut.
You held on and you were trying to never let go.
“Y/n?”
You opened your teary eyes and found his hand slowly turning to dust as he stared at it.
Your heart fell from your throat all the way into your stomach.
“Nonono no please-“ You held him close as he started disintegrating into your arms. “Please no, don’t go.” You sobbed and you begged.
He brought his remaining hand to your face as he quickly faded. “Its going to be ok.”
Whatever god had been looking down on you turned the other way as you cried.
You found yourself holding onto nothing.
You sank to your knees as you wrapped your arms around yourself instead.
The avengers had lost.
The avengers had lost and the universe had payed the price.
———————————
5 long years had passed.
The world had gone to shit.
You couldn’t feel anything.
There was no way to bring them back. Thanos destroyed the stones and all that was left was a dull sense of loss.
You laid on the couch in your apartment rewatching an old movie. You weren’t really focused however.
You had spent the past 5 years helping people in need recover from the blip, but you couldn’t help yourself.
Everyone was moving on.
You were not.
Your apartment was more of a ghost town than the rest of the world could ever hope to be.
Every photo with Pietro had been turned down so you didn’t have to look at it. The kitchen was a mess of dirty bowls and empty ramen bags. Clothes were discarded everywhere and dust was settled on most of the flat surfaces.
You had tried moving on, and you supposed in a way, you had. You helped others deal with their problems and move on during the day.
The only time you didn’t feel anything was getting better was when you came home.
Your phone rang where it lay on the other side of the couch.
You didn’t move.
It rang again, and again, and again.
You ignored it.
You just stared at it as you felt yourself falling back into the void.
You wished you could say that sleep brought you peace.
Sleep was the reason that after 5 years, you were still hung up in grief.
Every night since that day, you’ve been tormented by his disappearance in every single dream. No matter what you did, it always ended the same.
After the second year you started pulling all nighters. You started going as long as you physically could without sleep, because as much as it hurt to be awake, it hurt more to be asleep.
Even without the nightmares, the cold empty bed remained a reminder.
At this rate you’d be grieving forever.
The phone stopped ringing. You let out a sigh. Life was long and boring. You sat there staring at a bug as it struggled across your thick carpet.
You hated bugs but with the mess your apartment was you could never get rid of them. They’d leave if you cleaned but that was too much for you.
The only time your apartment ever got clean was when one of the other avengers came to visit you.
They were all busy but it happened quite often.
Bruce didn’t visit anymore because he didn’t fit through your doorway as professor hulk, but he calls when he has time.
Maybe you should get your shit together.
There was a knock on your door.
“Y/n I know you’re in there. You have your location tracker enabled on your phone”
Fuck.
You groaned and dragged yourself off the couch. You just want to wallow in peace, but no, Nat has to show up at your doorstep.
You stumbled across your messy apartment towards the door, tripping multiple times.
Your foot caught on something and you went down with a heavy thud.
Cursing and pushing yourself back up you find yourself at the door.
Your nose hurt from how hard it hit the floor.
You swung the door open for Nat. You had seen her earlier this week, and once a week was kind of the remaining avengers get together agreement.
You gave her a dead smile. It didn’t reacher your eyes. It barely even reached your mouth.
“Hello, what do you want?”
She gave you a small smile, but at least hers was genuine.
You felt bad that she had to put up with you like this, but at the same time she was the most understanding.
She never pushed you too much, but she pushed enough to get you out of the house and doing things.
“We need you back at the compound.”
You let out a dry laugh. It was more of a wheeze than a laugh. You hadn’t been to the compound since before the airport fight. Piet had of course sided with Wanda and that sent him on the run, and you, being his best friend at the time, followed him when he went on the run.
He and Wanda had gone different ways so that they were more difficult to  recognize, because almost all of New York knew of the duo. With Wandas red hair and Pietros bleach blonde hair they would have been amazingly easy to spot together.
Nat looked at you, waiting for a response.
Your smile dropped and it hit Natasha how tired you really looked. Were the nightmares still so bad after all this time?
“and why do they need me back there?” You leaned against the doorway, crossing your arms.
“Because we think we’ve found a way to reverse the blip.” Her voice was calm as she tried to read your reaction.
Your eyes widened slightly and sparkled with a dull excitement. But your expression was still muted.
“are we sure it will work?” You didn’t want to get your hopes up.
Nat stared at you with a piercing gaze. This is not the most resistance she’s had from you, but it was by far the most irritating.
“Clint and Thor came back for this.”
You raised your eyebrows as you thought about what this meant. Clint lost his entire family, he was willing to try. Thor lost everyone and he was also willing to try.
Nat was challenging you.
She was testing to see how willing you were to try.
You sighed lowering your gaze away from hers.
He was worth everything.
“So tell me more about this plan.....”
—————————————-
You watched as Starks technology constructed a gauntlet for the stones.
The loss of Nat had hit you hard and all you had left was the steely determination that ‘this had to work’.
Because if it didn’t work you’d be left with nothing.
You thought you had nothing before and that just proved how you took Nat for granted.
She gave her life to save the missing half of humanity. She gave her life to bring Pietro back.
Now all that was left was to bring him back.
———————————-
Everything was dark and dusty. Your head throbbed as if it had been bashed with Thors hammer.
‘Where the hell am I?’
The world had gone pitch black.
‘Am I dead?’
You tried to look around while your eyes were adjusting to the light.
You were surrounded by a dome of rubble.
‘How did I get here?’
How had you gotten here? The last thing you remember before this was Bruce snapping with the gauntlet so how had things taken such a terrifyingly dark turn?
You slowly eased yourself up onto your elbow with a lot of pain.
You tried to focus on your breathing but the dust was making the air thick and breathing was a chore.
‘Its going to be okay’ You told yourself.
The amount of times you heard that phrase since the day Thanos won was insanely high.
But most of those times it was said by Nat.
“Its going to be okay.” Your throat was caked with dust and dry, so your words came out hoarse, but you repeated it in confirmation.
Thats what Pietro has said that day too. You remembered it vividly because it kept coming up in your nightmares.
Finding a little bit of strength you sat up. Your head nearly touched the rubble above you.
Did the snap work?
You raised your sore arms and scrabbled at the rubble around you. It gave way to show a little bit of light, but not a lot.
It couldn’t be night by now. It didn’t feel like you’d been out that long.
You intensified your scratching and digging, ignoring how you cut some of your fingers.
You had to be careful or it would collapse on top of you.
More gave way and before long you had a decent sized hole you could squeeze yourself through.
The sky was blotted out with darkness.
Everytime you think you’ve finally hit rock bottom, fate always loves to hand you a pic axe.
In the distance you saw Steve standing alone. Across from him wad Thanos.
How? Thanos was dead.
But apparently not as he and an army bigger than you’ve ever fought stood there.
The empty space behind Steve began to sparkle.
You struggled to get out of the rubble.
As you broke free you made your way over to Steve.
You looked up and saw Sam fly out of one of Dr. Stranges portal.
Sam. Dr. Strange.
Your heart lifted a little bit.
It had worked.
You let it sink in a little bit more.
More portals opened around Steve as Thanos watched, baffled.
You saw T’challa and Spiderman and loads of others-
And him.
You saw him near his sister and you felt tears spring up in your eyes.
You sprinted through the people in attempt to get closer to the front line, as more and more of the fallen and the remaining alike lined up against the greatest force that the universe has ever had to oppose.
You felt a newfound vigor run through your veins like fire.
You didn’t have time to talk to him yet but he was back and that was enough reason to fight.
—————————————
And so you did fight. With every ounce of strength and grief and hopelessness from the past five years, you put everything you had into winning.
Because if you don’t win now then you’ll never win ever.
You fought for Nat and the sacrifice she had made for the world.
You fought for the avengers who spent the past five years doing all that they could to fix the world.
You fought for the ones who perished mercilessly.
You fought for your boyfriend who was somewhere among the chaos fighting as well.
Everything that you had ever felt was going into this cause.
You had to win.
You were surrounded by a hefty group of aliens as you plowed through them like sandcastles, fragile and crumbling. You slaughtered them by the dozens but they never stopped coming.
You were overwhelmed by them yet again like you had been all those years ago.
But this time you knew what was at stake if you lost.
You saw a silver flash in the distance, beyond your group of enemies and you fought harder.
He was so close.
In the blink of an eye all of the aliens around you had been taken off their feet.
“You looked like you needed a break.” Pietro huffed.
You looked at him with your mouth gaping open. You were struck speechless.
After years of trying to figure out what to say in this moment all you could do was pull
him into a hug and cry.
And he hugged you back. His hugs were still warm, and he still smelled like axe deodorant, and even after five years apart, he still felt like home.
You grabbed at the back of his shirt, afraid to let him go.
He rubbed your back a little bit, “Its ok. I told you it would be.”
You felt your tears leaking into his shirt but you didn’t care.
“I thought I’d never see you again.”
He let out a breath that felt like a small laugh.
“Well I mean, you can’t keep me away...”
He slowly pried you off of him, “But right mow we have a battle to fight.”
You nodded, preparing to go back into the fight. Now you knew that everything was truly going to be ok.
But oh shit you still need to clean the apartment

I'm not sure the "in full" description is much of a problem. The comment in the video description actually says "in full from season 2." That is a true statement without anything attached. Netflix didn't have to highlight them at all. Especially considering that they did not have a lot of screentime and are not supposed to be "endgame." They clearly want the audience to remember them in some form or some reason.
I do think a couple things are good to consider. The first is that the show is not going to spoil anything new going forward as there is so much already known due to the books. Anything that is a departure is something for them to surprise the audience with. They will safeguard that as much as possible. This is especially true if they did decide to change someone's story or endgame. They are not going to announce that the couples won't be the same. Rather, they will let it happen organically if it happens at all. Secondly, most if not all production decisions come down to money. Someone, be it a producer or a fan, cannot look at an extremely popular show and guarantee that it will completely follow the source material several years down the road in subsequent seasons. The showrunners are going to make the decision that best serves the story while retaining audience numbers. Does that mean that by season 4-5-6 everything follows the book canon? Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. It's up to what makes the show successful. This is true for Julia Quinn. She's being paid for her stories. But again, this is a financial transaction. She would be completely fine with a part of canon being changed for the right price. And if she's still a consultant, it gives her an opportunity to continue creating in a world she's already built. So to all the people hollering at Theloise shippers that the showrunners simply cannot change anything for Eloise by season 5....yes, they can. See GRR Martin and Game of Thrones for reference. Now, will they? That remains to be seen.
I'm not meaning to lecture you specifically. Just adding to the conversation with everyone as it seems all of the asks/anons are bouncing off one another as you so kindly share and reply to them all.
Thank you!!! I personally have seen book to show adaptations change the plot completely because they wanted to reach an audience. With the other fandom that I am a part of, the TV show ended in a total different way than the book did. Season 2 for that show is going to be filmed in a few months apparently, and the plot is nothing that was in any of the books.
Books are a source material, but you don't always have to go off them. As someone who writes and directs school plays based off of existing material, I know that when it comes to audience, some changes have to be made.
I do hope they look deeper into the Eloise book. A lot of it is so outdatedly sexist. Plus, if they wanted to do a similar thing where Eloise's book runs at the same time and Colin's, they could easily do that.
The show writers knew that if they kept the personality of the Bridgerton brothers, no one would like them. They know things in the show need changed, and I pray that they realise that Eloise's story does too.
