Summary: Dom surprises Ash with a tattoo.

"Alright man, you are all done." Dom slowly stood as his tattoo artist moved away from him. Dom looked proudly at the new piece he had picked out to represent his feelings for Ash. She loved his tattoos, and just a few weeks earlier had jokingly drawn that design on him with a sharpie. All Dom had done was have his artist make a different version of that to actually tattoo on his skin.

"Thank you man. I can't even begin to tell you how much this means. Ash is going to love it," Dom said. He gave the man a quick hug as he went up to finish the payment. It would be a little while before Ash would be able to see it, but Dom was certain that she would absolutely love it.

The few days that Dom was away with The Judgement Day doing shows was like hell for him. He just wanted to go home and show Ash his new tattoo. Especially once the other guys started to rip on him for being such a sap. They couldn't believe that Dom still acted like such a softie after going his rounds with Rhea.

Dom didn't mind their teasing. He loved Ash, and Ash loved him. If there was one thing that Dom knew for sure, it was that he was going to marry Ash one day. That was the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, so he had to treat her right.

There was just enough time between Dom getting his tattoo and seeing Ash again for him to wonder if she would think it was stupid. He was nervous as he walked up to their house. They had only just moved in with each other a few months ago. They were still just dating, and Dom didn't even know if Ash felt as strongly for him as he did for her. That wouldn't matter though because Dom wasn't sure that it was possible for anybody to love someone else as much as he loved Ash.

"Honey, I'm home!" Dom called out as he pushed his way through the front door with his suitcase. Ash was sitting on the couch playing a video game, but she immediately paused it and set the controller down to go over to him. Dom dropped his bags at his feet to wrap his arms around Ash for a hug. Ash pressed a couple of kisses to the side of his jaw before backing away just enough to give him a kiss on the lips.

"I've got something to show you," Ash told him. Dom's interest was definitely piqued, but not quite enough for him to forget about his own surprise for Ash. "It seems a little extreme, but I was going stir crazy and was planning on getting something done anyway."

"Oh?" Dom placed his hand on the bottom of his shorts, fiddling with the hem. "I have a surprise for you too."

"Well, you can go first," Ash said. She leaned against the back of the couch and watched Dom slowly lift up the bottom of his shorts to reveal a tattoo on his thigh. Ash looked at it for a moment before she broke out into a huge smile. "Is that the one I drew on you?"

"Yeah, it is," Dom confirmed sheepishly. Ash jumped up into his arms and pressed several kisses to his face. "I take it that you like it?"

"I love it. It's so much better than the one I got for you," Ash said. She pulled her sweatpants down just enough to reveal a skull wearing a purple bandana over the lower part of its face with a 'D' carved into its forehead.

"That's for me? That's awesome," Dom said. He dropped down to his knees to get a better look at the new tattoo. Ash let her hand fall onto the top of his head, running her fingers through his hair as he took in every little detail of her tattoo that he could. "I love it. I love you."

"I love you too." Ash smiled down at Dom, and in that moment, knew she would never love another person like she loved him.

When it comes to weed, I feel as though the whole Toxicule would be partaking, but in unique ways that play off of each other! They’d rarely smoke alone, at most two smoke while one is hanging out sober (likely as a designated driver if they have to go somewhere).

Andrew would strike me as a very casual weed smoker, a blunt and a beer is probably enough for him to smoke on his own. He smokes most weed without care for strain or quality aside from indica or sativa. It’s not that he has a low tolerance or hates more elevated highs, it’s just how he relaxes. Without hesitation he’ll take a bong rip if Ashley offers, and some edibles if Julia has some cooked up, but left to his own devices a single blunt is all he’ll take independently. If you’d ask him, it’s because he doesn’t like to take in a whole lot, but in reality he just loves having the weed fed to him by the other two. Shotgunning hits from Ashley until he gets so woozy and giggly that he happily falls into line when a shotgunned hit turns into messy make outs as they grope each other, much to the visual delight of Julia (if she doesn’t decide to join in by wiggling between the two to soak up some of the attention). Not to mention he’s always game to try some of Julia’s edibles, especially when she feeds him some super potent ones, left perfectly serene and pliable so Julia can take in his scent, smelling him up and down before fucking him slow and steady, listening to his whimpers as his body aches for more, desperate to be filled, but with too clouded a mind to form words. To Ashley’s delight though, his tongue is still very useful.

Ashley would be the certified pothead, no doubt about it for me. If the other two need some form of paraphernalia, they ask her first. From wax and dabs to bongs and grinders, concentrates to bud, she’s got at least a bit on hand at all times. She’s typically in the mood for certain strains, but isn’t picky. She collects bongs especially, not only because they’re her favorite method, but because she loves the artistry in it, ESPECIALLY heady rigs (her prized piece is an AKM Anatomy Rig). And she puts the pieces to work, smoking far more than the other two combined in volume. She has to almost be forced to take breaks to allow her tolerance to die down, but she relents usually. When she’s super high, touching at just the right spot can send her into a tizzy. Andrew’s Tdick can make her melt in seconds, and she by the end she always has a hard time recalling how many times she orgasms (that’s probably just the metric ton of weed in her system though. Probably). Julia loves teasing her, especially with surprise gropes. Ashley’s squeak transforming into a moan is Julia’s favorite. If she’s really wanting some action though, Julia knows she’s just pressing a few of the right buttons away before Ashley’s bent over the couch arm, wet and half teasing/half begging Julia to use her. Ashley also loves to tease Julia at how much she’s sniffing her hair, but when you’re having your back blown out being bred by your girlfriend, it isn’t easy to get a word in.

Julia is likely the cannabis scientist of the menagerie. She loves the process of growing and crossbreeding strains, having a grow room in the place they live. She looks into strains to see side effects good and bad and has her bud sorted by what they do. Andy and Leyley find it hard to parse sometimes, but Julia gets all giddy discussing it so they do their best to follow along, even if genetic lineages are complicated and they have no idea what terpenes are. Julia actually smokes the least by a decent margin, instead dedicated to making edibles, though she does smoke with the other two. She’s made a good array of edibles, of course the classics like gummies and cookies and brownies, but she experiments a lot and usually the results are quite good! Andrew and Ashley still have not a damn clue how someone makes garlic bread edibles, but it was good! Whenever Julia’s particularly high, her love of scents is exacerbated and their effect on her is tenfold, to the point where getting off may not even require stripping. Andrew is especially potent for this, and if he lets her sneak into his sweater and into his armpit, she’ll be clawing at him and drooling as she makes a mess in her panties, shivering and throbbing as she fully imbibes him, and while Andrew doesn’t get off to this more one sided act, he absolutely finds it hot. Ashley loves to be more bratty about it, teasing Julia for being a freak with how much Julia gets off to smells, but when they’re both staining underwear with grinding on each other, Ashley can’t hide how cute she finds it that Julia loves her hair. One time Andrew and Ashley ambushed her with tank tops they worked out in after she was nice and high and they had to stop her from falling with how weak her knees got. ~<3

I'm feeling embarrassed that I'm finally getting around to the older requests that have been sitting in my inbox for weeks (￣￣|||) I'm not purposely ignoring anyone though. I'm hoping the first couple of months have gone okay for you anon! Thank you for waiting if you see this <3 Buer does need a lot more love, especially since seeing his original design with the outfit he's supposed to have worn he looks so dashing. Here's a nice fluffy short fic of him and his s/o ^^

It's a quiet evening in Paradise Lost, no angel attacks, all of the devil's that needed to get something looked at or healed have gone home. Marbas and Morax send off their comrade with simple goodbyes, although Marbas does tease him about who he's going home to.

"Is she still too shy to come meet us?" Marbas asks as he slips off his straightjacket to hang on the random rack in Morax's office. Buer raises his brow and crosses his arms. "Why would she need to meet you right now? I just got permission to have her stay with me for the time being from our Majesty." "Don't mind Marbas, he's just curious. Your s/o, she's human?"

"Yes. Is there something wrong with that?" Morax shakes his head. "Not necessarily. Just be sure to keep an eye on her and let me know if she needs any specific medicine or ointments."

"Thank you, I'll be going now". As Buer turns he bumps into a smaller individual that was standing behind him. With surprise he excuses himself until he sees who it is that's standing behind him.

His s/o gasps, covering her face with her hair in embarrassment from not saying anything sooner. Buer bends down to her level to check if she's okay, while stroking the top of her hair lightly.

"Sweetheart? Is everything okay? I didn't see you there."

She nods, still hiding behind her tresses and even beginning to pull up her shirt. Buer laughs quietly and hugs her tightly to help soothe her in the moment. When he pulls back to kiss her nose, she almost smiles until her eyes go wide and she hides again.

"Oh, so this is her." Marbas stands above the two, pants falling down and Morax sighing as he tries to hold them up.

Buer stands up, also picking up his lover in both arms bridal style and pressing her head on his chest.

"Don't scare her. It took a lot for her to come and see me."

"Not trying to. But she should be more careful. A human that isn't Solomon's descendant wandering around could be dangerous."

"I'm fine." Buer's s/o speaks, her voice small but clear even when muffled between her lover's chest. She was shy sure, but tired of being told to "be careful" constantly. Even on Earth.

"See?" Buer defends her further, stroking the back of her head. "She's fine. We'll go home now." "See ya tomorrow Buer, and uh whoever you are...Buer's lover I guess." Marbas shrugs but Morax pushes his shoulders in the opposite direction to hurry him out of the hallway to another area of the palace. Buer huffs and smiles and looks down at his s/o, seeing her face now uncovered from her hair now that the other devil's left the area. "No one bothered you on the way here?" She shakes her head.

"That's a relief. Text me next time you're heading this way okay?" "I wanted to surprise you..."

She blushes, hiding her face again until Buer pushes her hair away and places his lips on hers, a kiss which then lasts more than a few seconds once he realizes how much he'd been waiting to kiss her all day. When he breaks his embrace, her cheeks are flushed even more and she uses both hands now to cover her face as her lover hums softly. "I appreciate the surprise, my dear. The fact that you came here makes me happy. But I want you to be safe too." She nods and presses her face back into his chest, holding onto his clothing as he kisses the top of her head and walks in the direction of his dwelling.

TOTK Trailer 3 Analysis

Alright, let's do this. There was a whole lot in this trailer, and just so you know i'm not going to be dissecting every second or everything that made me go 'oh cool!' Like, the rocket is way cool but I won't be providing a picture. Anyway, without further ado, here we go!

I really liked seeing the little robot guys doing stuff on the island, especially this little one fending off a chuchu :D I think it adds a lot to the understanding of the role of these robots

Not sure what's up with all the mushroom stuff but I love it! I like seeing that the villages are going to be changed :D

Yay, settlements! People trying to move into this area! A shame that the castle is gone now. I also really like the birds on the old fountains.

Big round rock is very interesting. It reminds me of the speed boost things in skyward sword, so that's my theory on what this one does.

Big thing rising from the Gerudo desert. It's probably going to end up just being Ganondorf's castle, but I really hope it's Arbiter's Grounds because that place horrifies and fascinates me.

Presumably a back shot of Ganondorf, and I gotta say I love his hair all glowing and crazy like that. He seems to be watching something explode, but I'm not sure what? Baby theory with the only proof of 'idk it'd make a modicum of sense', maybe it's the great plateau he's destroying?

Putting these two together since they seem to go together - ways to get below ground? Very interesting. Not psyched about having to wear the lame lava armor again, though. (and when I say go together, I realize this is probably an underground cavern in the Eldin area and not in Lanayru)

Flying ship flying ship let's go!!! Looks way cool and makes me wonder who is manning it. Robots? Monsters? The Zonai???

Floating balls of water are cool, but more than anything make me wonder if there will be a better swimming mechanic, maybe even diving?

Mostly took this picture because I like the red bird outfit Link is wearing. Presumably it'll slow his fall more than other clothes, but I also like the reference to the crimson loftwing.

Finally, the being we've been seeing on the wall carvings and ruins. What's her deal? Is this what all Zonai look like? She looks rad that's for sure. I've heard some people say she looks like a lizard, but personally I think she looks more like the three dragons.

At first, this is kind of a boring shot, until I remembered that Hyrule castle probably was very much destroyed in the final battle of BotW. Was it repaired? By the little magic sparkles around, I'd guess either Zelda is repairing it with magic, or this is some kind of memory.

Finally, the girl. Strange dais she's standing in front of, I'm so worried for her.

The Baby! Teba really said 'I'm too old for this shit' and is having his baby fill in for him! Rip Teba you were, well, a normal guy opposed to all the other champions. Here's to your cool kiddo.

I think I said this in my analysis of the last trailer, that I thought Link's vehicles would be able to transport Hylians, and I feel soooo vindicated right now! Yes, helping the citizens! I love it!

This is ridiculous and I love it. Just us with our dumb machine against a bunch of monsters. Reminds me of that woodcutting machine from beauty and the beast, I think because of the little arm making kind of chopping motions

BIG FUCKING MONSTER ATTACKING THE LITTLE BABY! I'M SO EXCITED FOR BOSS BATTLES NOW!

No idea what the little magatama is still other than 'probably what they mean when they say tears'

I have mixed opinions on ganondorf's design, but overall I think I like it :) He's green still, which is a little weird, but I guess he is technically a zombie, and damn did he rehydrate well.

Putting these two together to make a point (may also make it it's own post too) that I think Zelda isn't just wearing the above woman's outfit, I think the above woman is Zelda, the one from 1000 years ago. (I'll also mention now that what if the male voice talking to Zelda is some version of Ganondorf?)

At one point I was going to make a video about TotK theories, and one involved getting to fight with civilians. It was more of an escort idea in there, but hey, still looks exciting! I love all these people who are stepping up to the plate and aren't just going to let another calamity hit them!

Riju haircut! Sidon is King! Kind of weird that we say three of the four races, really hoping the gorons are doing okay. I'm really excited to see how the powers and strengths of the allies have evolved. From the footage, you already get the idea that Riju has started to use Urbosa's lightning powers.

Gleeok! We've all seen him coming, but hey, he's officially here! That's pretty rad!

Hard to see, but we're getting more of the wall mural thing, this time featuring ganondorf. I hope this thing will be, like, a physical thing in game so we can look at the whole thing.

And finally Zelda. My bets are that she's a) going to be found sleeping on that thing, very similar to Zelda 2's ending or that b) she's going to end up being sacrificed on it :(

ok long ramble up ahead — tw kinda gorey descriptions, eye stuff

so i have what i call ‘solo’ ocs - which are ocs that i created without a story (at first at least) and they don’t really have a fleshed out cast of supporting characters and ive been sooooo obsessed with them lately so here’s what tarot cards i think fit them best and what the designs of them on those cards would be

Devil’s Advocate (D.A.) / Daisy as The Devil - okay this fits too easily but you must also know that she’s a LAWYER. and i decided that The Devil fit better than Justice. why - other than the fact that she just is a devil, one of the meanings attributed to the card (from a quick search) is shadow selves and Daisy’s thing is all about how she’s escaping all the expectations and the image of this ‘sweet, innocent’ little girl who can’t be taken seriously, to instead be this free devil, when everyone thinks the old Daisy is dead. some of the other meaning (especially the reverse ones) also kinda fit too !!

but ANYWAY onto the design of the card : she’s (of course) the devil and i imagine her leaning on the judge’s stand very lazily. she’s in this classy angular suit and has grey skin and fire hair billowing up. her sharp teeth are bared in a grin and she’s a got a hand with pointed claws gestured up beside her. on one side of her is the shadowy figure of the prosecutor (yeahhh she’s an attorney), who is much smaller than her on the card, and on the other side are the reporters (also shadowy figures, also small. chains are connected to each, held in her hand. the courtroom behind her is barely lit, as though at dusk, her fire being the brightest thing in there. shadow-people line the walls like in pews - they’re the jury. the way the little bit of light is scattered around the room and through the window makes it seem like there’s a stained glass window behind her and it’s a cathedral. you may see a glimpse of the bright, human daisy. behind her in the light

Shrike as Justice - and HERES a character that fits Justice SOOOO extremely well. and shrike is all about 1) hunger, and of much more relevance, 2) vengeance. she is LITERALLY eye for an eye..

I imagine Shrike emerging from her basement prison, dirtied and bloodied and cast in a heavy shadow. she’s dressed in a very dirty, very bloody, brown butcher’s apron, trousers and linen shirt. on one side she is missing an eye, a dark gorey cavity left instead, her face also heavily scarred on that side, but a shrike’s wing is extended in its full beautiful glory. on her other side, there is an eye, looking dead on and murderous, but her wing on that side is torn in half, sinew flesh and bone pressing out from sparse ruffled feathers. she is holding a knobbly cane that’s pretty much just a stick on the side of her bad eye, and she holding a massive, menacing axe on the side of her bad wing. blah blah all of these im making metaphors for vengeance and justice blah blah

AND FINALLLYYYY Sunada as Strength - my newest oc !! and her whole thing is being strong in all senses of the word and having influence. she is also incredibly intimidating but that may be less relevant lmao

the beast most associated with her is the phoenix, so in this i imagine she’s wrestling a phoenix. and i MEAN wrestling. they are brawling - she is pinning it to the ground and wrenching its beak open. Sunada is at a side profile and her black hair falls in curtains in the far side of her face. she is determined as she stares down the phoenix. she’s dressed in dress trousers, a blazer hanging half-off, and a shirt that’s loosely tucked and half unbuttoned. she has a bulky, top heavy build and is SOO butch it’s unbelievable. the embers and feathers of the phoenix fly everywhere and the card is so so red.

anyways yeah im so normal about them. D.A. I made a while back and i haven’t really revisited but i still love her so much while the other two are a LOT more recent and im still actively thinking about them… sighhh badass women save me

this is SO cool i LOVE tarot card imagery. youve put so much thought into this its super cool!!!

i love your villain kalim au but imagine an mc who is equally as cunning. like someone like william james moriarty. lmao imagine like the first years just playing along with kalim until he’s exposed.

i love evil kalim so much.

Of course!!! I've thought about that a lot- it opens up a lot of different possibilities! I also never heard of that character before, but when I saw his design and the plot of the show in general I just <<33333 might just have to watch it later

Villain! Kalim:

-He knew from the start that you weren't who you said you were. He could tell from the way your eyes would narrow on Jamil during the moments when things got particularly tough

-His first encounter with you was right before the Magshift tournament, and he could tell from the way you interviewed both of them that you were going to be troublesome

-Of course, he tried to use that to his advantage

-Kalim would act as bubbly around you as possible, bumping up his innocent personality a notch or two in order to avoid the suspicion you were no doubt raising around him and his 'personality'

-He would silently curse when he slipped, knowing all too well that he had been caught

-During Jamil's overblot, you were able to easily read between the lines and tell that, as Jamil woefully and manically explained as the ink poured from his eyes and mouth, Kalim was the problem

-He was livid

-In his world, his opulent world that he so carefully crafted from the second he was born into it, he was king

-And he was being toyed with

-To make matters worse, he was falling for it.

-He tried countless times to get the upper hand, with every attempt ending in him locking himself away in his room and throwing a fit as though he were a child again, pulling at his hair and pacing as more and more things that he hadn't thought about before started popping up

-He still had one thing; his status

-You were a magicless prefect and, although you were equally as cunning (if not more) as he was, you had nothing in this world

-Even when you got your friends into the act who were, admittedly, worse at hiding their intentions than you were

-He worked and worked at using methods that previously worked. Anything they needed magically appeared in front of them. Jack's siblings needed new ski gear? The latest, most expensive gear dropped on their doorstep with a lifetime warranty. Deuce's mom needed help with paying for groceries? Every market she would go to would allow her to buy the food for free.

-He thought he'd won.

-Until he was finally exposed, his years of abuse against Jamil brought to light to the rest of NRC

-His crocodile tears worked on some, but he no longer had that power that he thought he would have

-Kalim didn't know how you did it... managing to sneak away from his prying eyes and his sources scattered around campus. Jamil had transferred to another dorm in fear for his own safety, but...

-Kalim still had power over his family. He still had as much power as his treasure room could buy- practically enough to get him out of any crime and rival even the neighboring countries' royals.

-And he could hold that over the majority of NRC, he could use his wealth to get his spotless reputation back

-And he would stop at nothing to get it

-Especially from you

-(Though, if I'm being honest, Yuu/Mc/the prefect has too many powerful protectors in NRC for him to do much directly. Between the Rosehearts heir, the Prince of the Afterglow Savannah, the twins from the infamous Leech family, whatever Rook is [LITERALLY HOW IS HIS FAMILY RICH?? IS HE A PRINCE?? A NOBLE??], the two heirs to the Shroud family fortune and business, and the future King of the Valley of Thorns; he would barely stand a chance should he actually hurt you.)

"Prefect," You heard a somber voice at your open window, making you grin and turn around in your chair, reaching over to grab Grim in case the boy tried to do anything to hurt your beloved roommate.

"Kalim," The boy climbs through the window, carpet hovering outside for a few moments before soaring off. "I wasn't expecting you to come at-" You glance at the clock that ticks on the wall. "12 am."

The heir shrugs and merely walks around the room, scrunching his nose as he runs his fingers along the still dusty shelves. He pinches it between his fingers and sighs, turning his gaze to you. "Still can't clean?"

"What is it that you're here for, exactly?" You deadpan, standing and holding Grim protectively in your arms. The look in his eyes makes you weary. You're aware of what people with his status can achieve when they don't like someone, or when someone exposes their schemes. Your mind flashes with images of what he could do, of who he could hurt, trying to predict his next move as quickly as possible.

Who was next? He wouldn't hurt Ace or Deuce, would he? The rest of Heartslabyul would stay on your side, you were sure... but what about Trey's family bakery? Would Kalim go after that? He wouldn't be above manipulating Ruggie, due to their class differences, and you know that poor Ruggie can barely fight back if he really did try something. Jack wouldn't budge, unless Kalim threatened his family...

"I want to make a deal with you." He cuts off your train of thought as you sigh and lean back against the wall, an eyebrow raised.

"You sound like Azul," Kalim scoffs.

"Work for me."

"Hell no," You retort quickly, and you spot the annoyance that flashes over his features.

"If you do, I'll free Jamil and his family. The rest of your friends will be safe and taken care of for the rest of their lives. Doesn't that sound nice?" His voice shifts and it sends a chill up your spine at how easily he can change his mask- from cold and calculating to innocent and naive in a second. "You can finally be a hero, like you wanted."

"If I say no?"

"You wouldn't want to know that outcome," He grins. "I'm sure you already have an idea of what could happen."

"Fuck you," You snarl, trying to find any way around the options he gave you.

"I thought you would be used to it by now," He walks back over to the window, a skip in his step as he bounces and leans out, climbing back onto the carpet. He turns around and stares at you from the outside, ruby eyes staring deep into your own as you take a breath, putting on a nonchalant face. "You're in the villain's world, remember?"

You opt to stay silent as he smiles, face looking akin to that of a cherub's round and soft features- a deep contrast to the beast within the heir.

"Heroes don't last long here."

And with that he's gone as the window slams shut, a cold gust of wind following in his wake.

Glad to be back! Sorry for the scare--life just got ahead of me, and alas my spoons were limited and focused on survival. That being said, I've still been reading/translating his stories, so I have indeed seen Comte's 6th bday story.

I think you've given me a bit too much power 🤣 but I'm happy to gush about Comte anytime. Since I'm going to discuss something that hasn't been released in the English version yet, the deets will be under a cut.

A reminder that I'm not a professional, so this is by no means an infallible translation. I try to convey what I find to the best of my ability, but I'm sure there are nuances I miss.

Where to begin? Honestly this story was A Lot, and arguably among my favorites, but the title of the CG/story is allegedly "Courtship at the Nape of the Neck." Get hyped, y'all--if I understood things correctly, it's exactly as it sounds.

The story begins with MC and Comte on their way to a ball for his birthday, and MC is all like "honey. When I said I wanted this day to be for you. That did not mean. Another dress for me." To which Comte's response is "New phone, who dis."

All jokes aside, MC does feel bad about it but he insists it makes him very happy, so she concedes:

MC: You got me a dress as a gift again…despite the fact that it’s your birthday;;;

I smiled at MC, who seemed to feel bad about it.

Comte: It’s because it’s my birthday that I gave you that dress. It’s my greatest pleasure to gift them to you, and accompany you in it.

I reached out beside me to stroke her hair gently.

Comte: It’s always fun to think about what kind of dress would suit you…And besides, when I see you all dressed up like this, I can’t help but fall in love with you all over again.

MC then mentions that she's made him a gift, and downplays it--likely out of shyness--before handing it over.

It was a handkerchief with a simple yet elegant design, with a name embroidered on it.

Comte: Did you embroider this yourself? How did you prepare such a wonderful thing?

MC: Hehe, I did my best under Sebastian’s guidance.

(To do something this intricate by hand would have taken quite a bit of time…)

Comte: Thank you, MC. I’ll treasure it.

I felt a warmth fill my chest at the sweet gesture, and I dropped a kiss to the handkerchief I received.

Comte: I’d prefer to be kissing you, but I fear if I do I won’t want to get out of the carriage after I start.

So like, yes, take a moment to scream, because wow. First of all, how dare you Abel. Second of all, AAAAAAAAAAA IT'S SO SUBTLE AND SWEET BUT ALSO LOWKEY SULTRY HOW DARE!!! I will have my r e v e n g e--

But also??? Aside from my brainworms, I really do love this part of him. Even though her gift is simple, he really does cherish the effort and dedication she put into making him something. I guess I think about how someone in his position could easily downplay its significance--but he doesn’t. He’s mindful of how her feelings saturate the act, and he honors it openly. And in case you think this is a one-off instance, it really isn’t. In his Anniversary story event, there is a direct emphasis on how he still keeps MC’s wedding gift to him--the preserved flower pins--polished as if they were newly gifted to him, not a speck of dust clouding their surface, lovingly tended.

I think it’s very easy for people to minimize him as unfeeling or haughty the way only very rich people can be, but...the his character construction and the intimate personal details you see if you’re close to him reveal that he doesn’t really fit that stereotype at all. Sure he’s selective about who he shares himself with, but that doesn’t make him fundamentally shallow.

Moving right along, MC gets bashful (and honestly who could blame her idk how she even makes sustained eye contact help) and they arrive at the venue in short order. None of this is especially notable except that it says, when they exit the carriage:

Her small, lovely hand covered the one I gently held out for her to take.

Thanks! I'm devastated!!! You just broke down adoration to its bare essentials!!!! I'm a romantic for one person and one person only, and it's HIM--

Naturally, they enter the ballroom and everyone flocks over to congratulate Comte on his birthday. Gracious and measured as ever, he accepts each one in turn, but MC is silent/stiff for most of it. All of a sudden, MC says she's going to get some fresh air and slips away to the balcony to clear her head. Comte is understandably confused and tries to follow after her, until he's intercepted by another noblewoman.

(What’s the matter…? It’s not like her to leave on her own like that so suddenly.)

When I tried to follow her at once--

Well-dressed noblewoman: Wait, Comte

As soon as I’m stopped by the woman, melodious music swells to fill the hall.

Well-dressed noblewoman: I’d love to spend some time with le Comte tonight. Won’t you share a dance with me?

A woman with a charming smile from the past crossed my mind.

(In the past, when I hadn’t been in love, I would have accepted such an invitation for the sake of simply enjoying the novelty of a single moment; that ephemeral warmth was something I relied on in the endless sea of loneliness that was eternity.)

--But now, I don’t feel that way anymore.

(Because I met MC.)

Comte: I’m sorry, but I’m afraid I’m already accounted for. Have a pleasant rest of the night, young lady.

So after Comte picks the correct answer, he continues on his way to the balcony and finds MC staring up at the sky.

Aight so like. I love when they have a certain writer create these stories, because they literally always make MC the strong and silent (stoic/defensive) type and Comte her little meow meow. It may be specific to me and my tastes but I love it here and I'm never leaving.

Before I add the transcription, I will say that I'm not really sure the "were you crying? did someone bully you?" part was something I fully understood. It appeared to be some kind of idiom/nuance the translator struggled to pick-up on, so I apologize for that. But it is my understanding that he's alluding to MC being picked on/unhappy.

When MC turned around, she had a surprised but also somewhat anxious look on her face.

(If I try to ask her what’s wrong…she’ll say it’s nothing. In that case…)

Comte: Were you crying? Did someone bully you?

MC’s expression relaxed a little at my dramatics.

MC: What are you on about, I wasn’t crying or bullied. But if I was crying…what would you do?

Though she throws the question back at me, I smile in response.

Comte: A gentleman's handkerchief is there to wipe away a lady's tears. I would tend to you with the very handkerchief you gifted me tonight.

MC: Thank you. But, I’m not one to shed tears so easily.

Comte: That’s right, you’re very strong.

The anxiety that clouded her expression earlier has faded away now, and she’s smiling.

I hold my hand out to MC once again…

MC: Yes, with pleasure.

Y'all but the way she claps back, and then he kills with that line about the handkerchief. God damn sir, if nothing else you get full points for incredible verbal repartee. (Lowkey, I’d make out with him for his emotional intelligence alone, don’t look at me.)

Okay but because I can’t help myself. I love how he’s like. I’m No Gentleman, MC. I Am A Liar.

Also Comte: A gEnTlEmAn’S HaNdKeRcHieF iS tHeRe To--

Mfer certainly knows how to lay down the charm when he wants to cheer her up--

After that, it simply says they spend a lovely evening together and then cuts to them relaxing in a hotel near the venue. Cuddled together (GOD I WISH THAT WERE ME), MC eventually speaks up to explain what happened earlier that night.

MC: Hey, Comte…

MC is picking at the hem of her clothes absently when she calls out to me.

Comte: What’s the matter?

I caress her hair to encourage her to continue, and she slowly opens her mouth as if she were choosing her words very carefully.

MC: When I was on the balcony earlier tonight…I wasn’t crying, but I was pretty frustrated with myself. I saw so many beautiful women giving you their congratulations tonight, I can’t help but worry you’ll be snatched away from me…I’m sorry you had to see me like this on your special day…

So, in the immortal words of Beyonce, "What's worse, looking jealous or crazy? Jealous or crazy?" is basically the mood of this whole scene. I'm usually not the territorial type, but I wouldn't even blame MC for getting pissed--nobody likes to see other women ogle/grab at ya mans (especially when ya mans is Comte).

Also beginning to wonder if Comte has a certain interest in MC’s hair 🤔

(I see now, so that’s why)

Comte: MC

After hearing such a cute confession, my fingers moved from her hair to stroke her cheek.

Comte: It’s all right, you have nothing to apologize for. Besides which, I know how you feel--I’ve been jealous/frustrated plenty of times too.

MC: Oh…like when?

Comte: Always/All the time.

MC suddenly looks at me, looking as if she really hadn’t been aware of it.

Okay but when he just gives that flat expression and goes "ALWAYS" without hesitation, I nearly started wheezing with laughter. Petty and glamorous, I love him your honor it's not a phase!!!!

Comte: Today, for instance, that Baron who was in love with you from the moment you stepped into the hall. A young waiter brushed his hand against yours while handing you a champagne glass. Every time I see another man taken with you, my heart is agitated.

(Of course, it’s not limited to just today. It’s been like this ever since I fell in love with you…)

Comte: Rather immature for someone like me, isn’t it?

MC: Comte…

Comte: But now…I’m not the only one who feels that way anymore.

I wrapped my arm around her delicate waist and hugged her close, a sweet scent catching my attention.

Comte: Come, MC.

Just the thought of him seething because some random waiter brushed MC's hand literally just. Sent me. Like straight up astral projection, that is so much I had to stare at the nearest wall to cope. And like I'm not sure if it's the same guy, but I have to wonder if the Baron he's talking about is the one that hit on her in Comte's rt--because if that's the case, that would be hysterically funny. At the same time if it’s literally just some random dude that thought MC was pretty at first sight, that is somehow even funnier. Le Comte de "Peace was never an option" Saint Germain. Monsieur le “Don’t even think about looking at my wife. Walk away.” Comte.

I live for it, I love it, I regret absolutely nothing!!!!

I escort her to bed and sit with MC in my arms. I kissed her soft hair and laid my forehead on hers.

Comte: You belong to me, and I belong to you.

MC: Co--Abel…

She calls my name and settles against my chest, and I’m filled with such affection for her.

Comte: You’re so cute…Telling me all about the frustration and the bullying honestly. You’re so lovely I want to bite you.

"You belong to me, and I belong to you." SCREAMING, CRYING, THROWING UP THAT'S SO ROMANTIC AND TENDER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

"You're so lovely I want to bite you." Do you promise. I want it in writing. 👁✒️

Then MC, who was silent as if she were thinking about something deeply, looks up--

Comte: …what is it, MC?

She pinches the skin of my neck between her lips and nips at me.

MC: I want to bite you too…I love Abel so much…

She keeps nipping at me, her soft lips nearly ticklish against my skin.

(I can’t believe you’re doing this…) NARUTO VOICE: BELIEVE IT!!!

She bit me lightly, and our eyes met.

MC: Am I the only one…allowed to do this to you?

Comte: Yes, of course…you can…bite me harder

So like. I'm aware I've already had several episodes in the process of recounting this birthday story and I apologize for the moments where I breach containment--But.

Bite.

Me.

Harder.

Wow, thanks, none of my thoughts are holy and I am forever changed. I am not going to heaven, and I'm okay with that. I lived, and that's what matters. BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK--

I leaned back to give her more room and she nodded, digging her blunt little teeth into me. The slightest pain is followed by a feverish arousal that blooms from my chest outward.

MC: Abel…

She called my name again, as if she could sense the urge rising from deep inside me.

This is especially insane to me on the level of like. The game is pretty clear about how biting your lover (at least for vampires) is a mutually understood sign of courtship. It’s a clear sign of who your lover is. And the fact that MC uses that sign to convey her feelings despite being human????? As the signal that she’s ready to fully be his and wants no one else to be able to interfere with that??????? Long time coming but also BWAH, BWAH BWAH BWAH BWAH

The other part of the end that kills me is that. They make love. With her fully dressed. And sure not necessarily that notable out of context, HOWEVER. BECAUSE I NEED TO DIE ON THIS HILL. What he specifically says is:

I reach to undo her dress--before my hands freeze.

[Comte: It’s always fun to think about what kind of dress would suit you…And besides, when I see you all dressed up like this, I can’t help but fall in love with you all over again.] (He’s remembering what he said before.)

Comte: I’ll make love to you as you are tonight. You’re dressed up to my liking, after all.

For those of you who haven’t seen the CG. MC. Is in a black dress. With sleeves that are see-through. Low cut bust. A long and visible thigh slit. With slight gold accents.

SIR. SHE IS DRESSED. TO YOUR LIKING????????????

At this point I’m convinced Cybird wants me to be in palpitations before the game ends for good. So much for Mr. Prim and Proper, I know you nasty Comte--

The rest of the bits are fairly raunchy so I’ll forgo that (let it be known simply that he is a firm believer in foreplay) but there are a few lines that I want to focus on.

(You haven’t the slightest idea how captivated I am, do you?)

[He asks her to say what he can only hear on his bday, and naturally she says happy bday.]

The heat of where our bodies are connected, her voice crying out for more, my heart and soul are on fire with the twin calls.

Comte: MC…

I kiss her tears away before connecting our lips with a smile…

Comte: I love you, too

(MC, you are the best gift of my life.)

With a feeling that is equal to eternity, I dropped my lips to her delicate neckline and…--

A lot to unpack here, but I will try (and fail) to remain composed as we go through each one.

“MC, you are the best gift of my life.” Like. Sincerely don’t even know how to approach this one. I have no clever witticisms. No trite commentary. Literally it is just beyond touching...[insert your preferred sobbing meme here]. It’s an odd feeling because honestly it doesn’t even feel like a surprise; his actions 100% substantiate what he’s expressed. It feels more like the inevitable culmination of his devotion up to this point. But there’s just something about the way it’s crystallized into that simple but enormous sentiment. That she was something unexpected, but not only welcome--accepted with such gratitude and joy. 11/10 I was not okay when I first read it and I’m not even okay now, every minute is half-catatonic.

And now to the question many of you probably have as you wait for me to address it. Did he..........b i t e bite her? The answer is I have no freakin’ idea. That’s where the story ends, and there’s no itemized specification as to how he bites her. But the phrasing keeps bothering me. If it were just another harmless love bite--as we’ve seen him do before--it’s never prefaced with “a feeling equal to eternity.” That kind of distinction is only made when he’s talking about how he changed the men into turned vampires when he found them.

Additionally, so many of his most recent stories have featured MC as a vampire (AU settings) but also in the most recent Christmas story (in the normal mansion setting), he gets extremely close to biting her for real--the closest I’ve ever seen, up to this point.

Granted all I can really do is speculate, but I will say it feels skewed in the direction of “holy shit he bit her for real, this is not a drill, LET’S GOOOOOOO Y O O O O O O”

-he loooooves playdates, especially with gem bc she's the only one who can keep up with his energy levels

-he's an expert at comfy clothes! wanting or changing into comfy clothes is a big giveaway that he's regressed/regressing

-he gives everyone nicknames and everyone has a nickname for when their big, small, or caring

-his favorite item is a cow rattle he had when he was physically little

-he loves playing with toys but he doesnt play with the same toy for more than 10 minutes, aside from giant legos. if you look away for more than a minute, he'll have built a skyscraper

-it is impossible to put him down for a nap. only grian can but even then, he struggles. he just wants to stay up and play!

-grian always inlists impulse to pull up his hair bc that kid gets food in his hair no matter how hard grian tries to avoid it

-when he regresses, he's very quiet and cuddly. he clings to impulse and barely leaves his side

-he also cries and gets embarrassed very easily

-gem tries to get him to participate in activities but he mostly just wants to cuddle with someone. he'll join in on playing if he feels like it.

-he carries around his comfort plushie which is a lamb plushie named Baa

-if he feels comfortable, he vocal stims A LOT. mostly just humming or repeating one word at a time. he accidentally hums himself to sleep sometimes

-impulse carries a blanket for him everywhere they go just in case

Now that I've seen it many times, I've gotta say...I'm not impressed with Asha's design in "Wish" for a couple of reasons

Her swooped-over-the-side hairstyle feels a bit too modern for a medieval Spanish-inspired fairy tale with style influences from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" (which explicitly takes place in the 14th Century). Obviously Disney has had anachronisms before, but this stands out like Elsa's "Let it Go" dress. I love the braids themselves, though! (Note: Given Asha's heritage, I have no idea if this was a current hairstyle in her culture at the time.)

2. The "Asha looks like Isabela Madrigal" controversy got WAY out of hand. People were getting heated over this. I think they share some first glance similarities (brown skin, dark hair, purple-ish clothes), but when you look at these two pics, you can see the differences clear as day. That said, given that kids used to mix up Esmeralda and Jasmine when I was growing up (I kid you not), ignorance--rather than racism--and the close release of these two films ("Encanto" in 2021 and "Wish" in 2023) could cause some marketing confusion. If Asha is set to be a Disney princess, she deserves not to be confused with anyone else (which is probably why Aurora is almost never marketed in her blue dress; the comparisons to Cinderella would increase). Granted, Isabela's look changes DRASTICALLY towards the end of her film, but most remember her in her lilac dress--plus I imagine all the colors for her "true self" dress make it expensive to mass-produce for Disney's marketing. I'd give Asha an orange dress, reminiscent of the sunrise/sunset, which would contrast against Magnifico's evil green. Perhaps throw a couple colorful details in there for a stained glass aesthetic and to avoid it being monochrome.

3. I think her outfit is just overall just bland. Had they went purely 2D or 3D instead of hybrid, I might've felt differently because the details would've been more pronounced in 3D or looked softer and paint-like in 2D, but the final product just looks rough, especially considering the faded color. As a result, it looks far more simple than it is, with the patterns falling flat. For example, Ariel's outfit is more simple than Asha's, but the art style and the contrast between black and blue makes Ariel's look memorable. Had the patterns on Asha's clothes stood out more (perhaps brighter colors rather than darker ones, or using black, yellow/gold, or green) and if the dress itself wasn't so faded, I'd probably enjoy it more. And if you wanna be stylized, look at Moana's vibrant look or Anna's detailed ensemble.

But this isn't just Asha; the outfits on everyone in this film look underdone due to the hybrid style, except Magnifico and Amaya (but the storybook art and concept art still looks better).

Soooo I watched the Miraculous movie.

I have some thoughts.

(Spoilers under the cut)

First, my pros:

1) The animation. Oh my god the animation. It felt too good to be true in all honesty. It took me a minute to get used to it, but once I did, I was in love.

2) The character designs of Adrien, Marinette, and Gabriel are all BEAUTIFUL and so are their hero counterparts. Plagg and Tikki are also adorable and I love them.

3) Ladybug’s yo-yo is gorgeous. All of the gold detail work makes it look so much more alive and charming. I fell in love with the promo featuring it the second it came up on my feed.

LIKE LOOK AT IT ITS GORGEOUS WHAT EVEN?? If they ever make a display yo-yo that looks like that I’d lose my everloving mind. I love the yo-yo :)

4) Canon footage of Gabriel actually caring about Adrien’s well being??? No way!!! When we saw that hug, me and my friend freaked the fuck out because Gabe was actually being a good dad?? But seriously, the Gabe rewrite was very necessary in my opinion. He shows real, genuine remorse for his actions for one of, if not the first time in the entire cinematic universe and having him regret what he did in the movie was very, very needed. Especially with the shorter run time.

5) Fu is a weirdo and I am living for it. The way he chases Marinette through the street after she saves him is hilarious to me. He was an absolute delight to watch and he managed to make me laugh more than once.

6) The sparring scene on the rooftop? Best scene in the entire movie and I will fight someone if they try to argue with me. You can practically taste LB/CN’s chemistry as the scene unfolds. The way they’re fighting against one another yet still working together?? Ugh. Brilliant.

7) The instrumentation was amazing. All the little motifs and parts tying the music to one another? Absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t a huge fan of the singing, nothing against Lou and SQVARE, it was just jarring to hear the Marinette voice drop. Thank god Bryce didn’t do the vocals for Adrien though I would have cried.

Now, it’s time for my issues (oh boy)

1) The entire movie felt rushed, ESPECIALLY the second act. They should have just committed to 2 hours in my opinion. Just 20 more minutes would have helped IMMENSELY with the pacing.

2) The character designs, overall, were quite jarring. Especially for background/minor characters. Something was always off. There are a few of the design choices that became sort of running jokes with my watch party. (Alya’s eyebrows, Gabriel’s chin and his long hair.)

3) A couple of the character rewrites were great. Some of them? Not so much. My specific gripes are as follows… Marinette falling for Adrien because he helped her up and called her weird. Same goes for Ladybug reluctantly helping Chat up during the fight. They could have done so much more with both of those scenes but they had to be rushed because of the cut run time. Also they butchered Plagg’s character and I am NOT here for it.

4) Most of this movie felt like a montage. It kinda was since they were trying to fit the entirety of the Gabriel arc into an hour and 40 minutes. I keep saying this, but they needed that extra 20 minutes in all reality.

5) I love the fact that the movie belongs to LadyNoir, we needed some good LadyNoir content because we get none in the show. What I don’t love, however, is that Adrien and Marinette didn’t really have any screen time at all. Just showing them interacting a little more would have been nice.

6) They cut The Wall Between Us. This is just a personal bias. I’ve been in love with this song for literal years. I’ve learned how to sing it in French simply because it brought me so much joy. I’m so upset they cut it but I don’t fault them for it. (At least it’s still on Spotify 😭)

Final thoughts:

This requires a bit of a storytime. My sister isn’t that into Miraculous. She watched the movie with me (and one of our friends) last night and she overall liked the movie. She brought up a good point about it though. “I feel like you have to know the show to see the movie but if you’ve seen the show it’s a little underwhelming because you expect it to be a certain way and it’s not.”

I fully agree with this sentiment. The first time Adrien’s name is even said is around 30~ minutes into the movie and that’s not really good storytelling for people who haven’t seen the show. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored the movie, I can tell it’s going to be a comfort film for me. There were just a LOT of plot issues, story inconsistencies, and overall just weak writing. But that’s okay! The plot is really simple compared to the show and that’s also okay! My gripes with the movie are just because I want the best for these silly little animated superheroes.

Overall, this movie will always be a 10/10 in my heart, it makes me so freaking happy that the movie finally released, but if I’m being fully objective it’s gotta be a 7/10. The pacing issues and some of the awful characterization really drags the movie down, but that’s just my opinion.

Some headcanons about M4 but pre-5 years of agony and pain. What were they like before the war,what foolish acts they commited,what were their relationship like etc. Just some wholesome Starsworn Gang headcanons that's all I ask for 💁‍♀️💕

Ohhoho the babies!!

I think they were all pretty close!! Out of all the other recruits, the four of them were their own little in-group. Even Sage and Rime. They argued all the time but I also think they definitely cared about each other. Rime's whole 'I never liked you thing' I think was a lie. Or rather, maybe he never 'liked' Sage, but I think they cared for each other in a different way. They were comrades in arms or whatever.

Felix always admired Anisa!! Rime would tease him about having a crush

Sage would bring Balsam and Lucan over sometimes!! They'd all sleep in Sage's room.

Tulsi had her first drink there!!!!

Tulsi had a crush on Anisa and would kinda tag along with her a lot. Anisa was oblivious. They were - and still are - close friends

The three would get drunk. Rime, as the healer, was almost always the designated babysitter. He didn't really mind. It was in his nature to keep everyone safe.

Felix wasn't technically allowed to have Stella so they'd all hide her in their rooms during inspections. Even Sage, though he always complained afterwards.

Sage teaching them all to play poker and blackjack??? Sage keeps trying to make it a strip game????? They actually do. Several times. Mostly when they're drunk.

They have to do chores around Fathom, like upkeep and whatever. They trade duties for favors all the time. It's their own little currency. Rime also uses blackmail but only against Sage.

Sage and Rime got into fights like,, every week. Everyone would stand around and watch and cheer for them. Except Anisa who was the only one trying to stop them.

I'm really upset that I don't remember where I read it but there was a post somewhere talking about the possibility that,, Gramme actually did die in the battle and LoS basically stole his form/body,,,, if I find it again I'll link it here but yeah it's really fucked up and I love it

Anisa and Gramme had a father-daughter relationship. Ow.

Felix would pull Earth things out of the Void and give them to Annie.

No matter how much they were fighting, if Sage ever got hurt Rime would chase him down to heal him. Felix would tease them both for it, thus leading to them giving Felix a double-noogie while Felix yells at them for messing with his hair

Sage would cook breakfast sometimes and Anisa would help him. He tries to teach her but I feel like she's a very 'use as many ingredients as your heart feels' person so it doesn't go very well

I feel like ilephtas - especially predator ones - prefer their meat bloody so Sage isn't allowed to cook steaks anymore

Rime would sing as he did chores.

Felix set up 'traps' (like bucket of water over the door type stuff) to keep people from entering his study without permission. He gets in trouble several times but continues doing it.

Sage is afraid of storms,,, thunder and lightening specifically,,,, so they would all pile into Felix's room (aka the biggest room) and have a sleepover. Felix always told ghost stories.

Someone bullies Anisa for not knowing who her dad is and the boys are Ready To Throw Down Because Leave Her Alone!!!

Whenever Sage would stay out late, Anisa and Rime would stay up to make sure he got back. Felix tried to stay up but always ended up falling asleep.

Felix does a dangerous experiment and Sage takes the blame for it so Fe doesn't get in trouble.

Sometimes Felix and Rime would just,,, leave. Peace out. They'd come back the next morning like nothing ever happened. They were totally fucking going on dates.

Sage and Felix making sure Rime and Anisa don't work too hard. Rime and Sage dragging Felix away from his studies sometimes. Anisa and Felix making sure Rime has a shoulder to cry on when he needs it. Rime and Anisa making sure Sage does his chores.

Well well welly well well....

Let's talk about the art I made for the finale and the last couple character designs revealed, shall we?

It was an all-hands-on-deck situation, and I was able to contribute to one of the final scenes. I hadn't gotten to draw Maria yet this volume, and so that's what I request for this final assignment.

After my last scene with Adam, I had foolishly believed I wouldn't have to draw the Atlas rifles again. Nope! xD I also kinda uh, just put whatever for the mermaid grimm, and wasn't super clear that they had a specific look, so i just sorta drew generally aquatic monsters, but it works out anyways and nobody called me out on it wwwww

The mech was also a bit of a pickle! Had to ask other sketchies for ref images, and I think the design of the mech was still in flux right up to the very last possible second. Still though, skyscraper-sized robots are always fun.

Maria was such a treat to draw, I love how she's simultaneously full of wisdom and also continuously very confused on how qrow and ruby are related.

We in this house don't believe in "cheating" in art, but we do believe in taking shortcuts. Plus it turned out bretty coo.

Got some help with this! perspective is a weak point for me, but felly sketchy Jayjaybase was able to procure a better ref image for me than what I was finding off of google, and it helped a lot for the overall look of the thing.

This was another fun shot to do. Yang waving with her stump is probably my favorite part lol.

Qrow's the kind of character where I always fret if I'll be able to draw him and his tricky hair right, but one way or another he always seems to turn out okay.

It was surprisingly tricky for me to find a good reference image for Qrow's running legs here, luckily posemaniacs came in to save the day.

This was a fun sequence to do, i always like imagining what a person looks like mid-transformation into whatever animal they turn into, the way their body and features must contort. I wonder if I'll get to do more stuff like that in the future?

Lowkey hilarious that Maria didn't have the slightest inkling that Qrow could turn into a bird until this very moment, and her reaction is just "neat!" Perfect note to end that scene on imo lmao

Now on to the last two character designs of the volume!

First up, worst girl, Cinder! There was quite a bit of debate on how to handle Cinder, especially since I personally actually quite liked her canon Atlas outfit, and didn't want to deviate too strongly from it. Overall though, it was decided that she should keep more of her red motif and a lot of the more classy elements from her previous designs. A soft gradient on her cloak helps tie in the colors from her feathers and keeps her legs from disappearing into the cloak. She feels a lot more like a mage here, with us wanting to lean more into her maiden status. As a rule I'm not fond of Cinder, but when you're doing character design, you kinda gotta find a way to sympathize and get in the character's head to find the roots of their personality to design from, and I like to think I was able to find an approachable middle ground with her.

Malachite's new outfit! For realsies this time and not just a cobbling together of her old outfit with her sister's!

Originally back when Malachite reappears and fights with Cinder, she was meant to appear in the casual!outfit shown in this sheet, her hair already cut to its new length. However, for various reasons, the artists for that scene ended up using her vol.5 cobbled design, and the casual!outfit was never used. A shame, I'm so fond of clothes that defy gravitate and look like they're about to fall off xD

But nonetheless! Malachite's Atlas outfit was largely inspired by a particularly eclectic gothic/punk lolita dress that was shared in the server from online, which got some tweaks and adjustments for dressing malachite in. We're dialing up the intensity of Mal's mental schisms here, two brains existing in one person and generally getting along, yet clashing even so. Gave her more simplified hand weapons, as well as increasing the size of her ankle blades to better match the size of her hand-blades. The main idea behind her was for her to be a blender in a cocktail dress lol. Very excited for her to do more stuff in the future of FRWBY!
