Alright, here I go with TMI about me nobody asked for! Sorry in advance! lol

Are you named after someone?

Not that I know of. Apparently my grandma wanted my parents to name me after her (Růžena), but thankfully they didn’t listen, lol. Not that it’s a bad name!

When was the last time you cried?

I don’t even remember. I almost never cry.. Usually only cry when I’m watching something (or listening to a song) where a beloved character or an animal dies.. Though I guess every few years the bottled up emotions overflow and anything can trigger the waterworks.. But I’m pretty sure the last time I cried was because of a TV show, but I really don’t remember which one it was and when (especially since I didn’t have much time to watch anything lately, lol)

Do you have kids?

No. I’m a two time aunt, that’s more than enough, lol.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Probably too much sometimes, lol

What colour are your eyes?

I always said Blue and green, but I think they’re mainly gray.

Scary Movies or happy endings?

I rarely watch scary movies (as in slashers)... I mean, if they’re on TV, I leave them on as a background noise.. But if we count movies like Sleepy Hollow, Interview with the Vampire etc as scary movies, then I would probably pick those.. But I prefer a happy ending in everything I watch!

Any special talents?

None that I know of. Other than maybe annoying people around me, lol.

Where were you born?

In a hospital in the town nearest to my hometown. Funny story about that (at least it’s funny to me, lol): The town I live in doesn’t have a hospital, so everyone from here was born in that nearest hospital, so I never thought ynthing of it.. Only to find out YEARS later that my parents only moved here when I was 6 months old! That my mom just happened to be in this town at her mother-in-law’s at that moment!

What are your hobbies?

Reading, watching TV shows and sports (tennis, snooker, ice hockey), foreign languages..

Do you have any pets?

I have a dog. But he lives at my mom’s so I don’t get to see him as often anymore..

What sports do you/have you played?

I used to play tennis as a kid (because my sister attented a lesson, so I wanted to do it too), according to my mother I sucked.. But in my mother's eyes I suck at everything, so who knows, lol.

I’m tiny. 157, 5 cm.. I’m not googling in the feet and inches again.. it was under 5 ft 2 in, i believe, lol

Favorite subject in school?

I always liked Czech (just the grammar though) and chemistry later on. Also back in 2007 when I was 16 and obsessed with German bands (yeah, yeah, yeah, mainly Tokio Hotel, I admit it! lol. But also Nevada Tan/Panik!, Cinema Bizzare and Killerpilze), I put extra effort into the German classes, lol. BECAUSE I saw a Tokio Hotel interview (or maybe it was just the twins? doesn’t matter, lol) and I was just thinking “Man, I’ve been learning German since the 3rd grade and I barely understand 3 sentences.. This is fucking embarrassing! I need to do something about that!” and (mainly thanks to German fanfic writers, lol) I was speaking fluently in no time! I really need to brush up on it agin, hopefully it’s still in there somewhere..

Great, now I’ve listened to “Ich bin nicht ich” at least 30 times over the past two days.. And 20 times to “Totgeliebt”.. HELP ME!!

Still love it, though.. And I must still have that DVD (and CD) somewhere, lmfao..

i first misread that post as 30 books in 30 days and was like, ok, that is quite a lot actually no matter how much anyone loves reading i'm not sure i understand the negative response to it, but 30 /weeks/ is totally normal, like?? i would say i don't read a lot and i still usually/often manage a book a week, that's like normal pace of reading imo. definitely not too much by any stretch. especially if that's your main hobby/you don't also watch a lot movies and tv. sorry for the long ask, I'm just so baffled by that post

yeah i talked a pretty good game in my tags but i genuinely do not read nearly as much as i could or want to and still, a book a week is not a tall order for me at all. i for real do not like to judge others’ reading habits but all bets are off if you’re being sanctimonious, and the notes on that post were truly bananas like “if you read that fast you’re obviously not processing anything you’re reading” actually yes i am. i’m smart and can process things easily and retain information. like literally read at whatever pace you want, it is none of my business, but don’t tell me i’m a Bad Reader for the crime of like, actually reading often lmfao.

so imagine: you walking in his dorm room, expecting him to be studying or working on his technique, but instead you find him on the floor in front of his bed, a blanket covering his head as he presses the buttons ruthelessly while he whispers little curses at himself starting to get mad

you closing the door got his attention, so he invited you to sit next to him, so you do

at first it was a little awkward bc he wasnt sharing the blanket (you cant convince me he isnt a blanket hog you cant) and his eyes were glued to the tv screen like he forgot you were there

you started to get tired, your head drooping on his shoulder- his body goes absolutely stiff- like- midoryia.exe has stopped working youre gonna have to wait for him to windows 8 reboot

once he finally looks at you and youre like this close to falling asleep he turns your body away rq to move the blanket off his shoulder so your head can rest on his actual shoulder and the blanket is around you too

he usually doesnt have his mic on at all, and if it is he usually doesnt talk unless hes going along w a joke? iykwim?

i feel like he plays games like call of duty and halo (he loves animal crossing and sucks at among us) but he doesnt like when he sees them actually die? like the gore and stuff? idk he just gives those vibes yk? i feel like hed feel really bad kaskjdshad hed get over it tho

i cant really see him play minecraft, tho, i mean unless youre playing w him, i dont think he would play it by himself unless he was like building a fucking castle for you or sum-

but ya you start to go to his room more when he games to hang out and every. single. time. you. fall. asleep. he isnt complaining tho he loves your sleeping face :p

when you sleep on him he usually wrapss an arm around you and when he can presses little butterfly kisses on the top of your head and takes his hand to rub your arm up and down oml kdajsd pls-

he plays both computer and console i just think he plays he console a bit more?

ok this is a lil soft and maybe a bit ooc but i like if you were to come in while hes playing games you would sit down between his legs, your back to his chest while he plays

he would either rest his head on whatever is behind him or he would rest it on your shoulder (if youre more on the taller side)

and okokok i feel like if you were curious ab how the game works he would def let you play for him for a sec, he would guide yu on what the buttons do and what your tasks are yk? (again w the soft shi im sorry kasjhsdfjf *cri*)

he would keep an arm around your waist while letting you play or he would rub your thigh (maybe both kasdjshd) while he watches you play

if you get a lil frustrated he would totally tease you ab it then tell you how to do it right oml

if you get tired he would take the controller from you and let you sit back on him chest, resting on him while he games

he might turn the volume down a lil, but i also think he doesnt care that much LMFAO

i feel like he would rub your side a lil its almost tickly but hes a lil more firm than that yk?

he would keep his curses at a minimum although he doesnt have that much game rage at all bc again, he doesnt care, but ppl are stupid so he might get frustrated sometimes

once you fall asleep and hes been playing for a while he might just leave the game hes in and carry you to bed and get in with you

i dont think hes much of a cuddler at all but a little bit of contact is ok w him

but then you start to shift and scoot towards him in your sleep

until you are either completely ontop of him or your head is in the crook of his neck and hes just sitting there like 😐😤😒

but he warms up to it bc he wuvs you (read: hes fucking whipped)

ao he lazily puts an arm around you and bears it for a couple more hours

but when yall wake up he finds himself literally clinging to you KASDJHSALKDJ

i feel like you wouldnt run into him playing games he would always play them once youre with him in the room

he wants you to be w him while he games, he wants you to watch him or just be there

youd be laying on his bed, hust doing whatever, scrolling on your phone while you hear him set up

you love to cuddle him- i just KNOW hes amazing at it

so when you hear him clicking away and see him sit down you stand up and walk to him

he doesnt even have t look at you before he opens himself up to you to sit on his lap

you watch him play (and his hands kasjlsdh) and sometimes you ask him questions ab it- hed be happy to walk you through it and explain

if you wanna play he'll let you play, teaching you everything ab the character and shit

he only notices your presence when when you put your hand on his shoulder- he literally jumps

when he plays console he's on his bed, just laying there chillin so when you walk in and say hi he is sooo happy youre there w him omg

he just loves you presence

i imagine you climbing into bed w him and he continues to play his game although he loves it when you touch him (not to sound sexual at all he genuienly loves your touch)

and you up to his side- he wraps an arm around you, telling you how he missed you how mych he loves you (ksadksjhaksd)

when you fall asleep he turns the volume down and probably tones down his voice, although sometimes he jolts bc of some kind of mess up

but he manages to keep you asleep on him until he gets tired too- turning everything off and just wrapping you in arms (he'd prolly end up on your chest ngl)

on the computer when he plays you hesitate o cuddle ONLY bc od how much he moves, like you arent gonna be there comfortable for a while but eventually he calms down

he just gets nervous- his heart starts to beat rapidly and his leg bounces (same kaskh) espECIALLY when you straddle him oml he BREAKS

but he eventually calms down so its more comfy

when you fall asleep he will constantly press kisses on your head omggg

i totally agree w the myspace posts being most likely homophobic jokes and 00s popular girls being girls~ but i always thought taylor was /that/ girl that enjoyed it a biiit too much and acted like making out with girls was only a joke for the boys attention. like until last year, i wasn't even a swiftie, pretty much never payed much attention to her, her music wasn't really up my alley but i did pay attention to pop culture and since like 2015? i've been saying taylor was gay just purely based on that vibe of closeted popular girl jsjfjsjdjdj like i Do get that you were saying we shouldn't take them as proof cause most definitely that wasn't the intention but i feel like taylor was always the one who took it a bit too far

Yeah look I mean I’ve shared my HS experiences before but I often get new followers so let’s go again. I was VERY gay and VERY closeted in high school. I was ~gayer~ in middle school because I didn’t know I was right so like I fully had a crush on a girl and was obsessed with her and I didn’t call it that in my head because I didn’t know I was gay and I had like a little love interest who was probably gay too who used to try hold my hand in school and I didn’t let her but I’d let her do it when we had sleepovers and we’d cuddle and stuff but she wasn’t allowed to tell my crush/“friend” we even had the sleepover because I was a weird kid and sometimes I start saying this stuff and I’m like maybe I *am* poly lol and maybe that’s something I need to figure out but ANYWAY.

Then Thirteen came out as bi on my TV and the penny dropped and I was like “fuckkkkkkkk” and I knew.

But I wasn’t about to like become a pariah, so I overcompensated to the point where I had Thirteen/Olivia as my desktop background and a friend laughed about it and I was like “lmfao I love House dude what’s wrong with u” and I then proceeded to pretend to have a crush on Hugh Laurie for THE REST OF FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL. My HS ex wasn’t sure about asking me out because he thought I was into old dudes. Like MY ENTIRE PERSONALITY WAS HUGH LAURIE (and SNL so that part was at least authentic).

No one in my school knew I was even vaguely gay. No one was surprised when they eventually found out but they fully thought I had daddy issues and was into old dudes and then I was in a power couple vibe with a boy so not much to think about there.

There were two girls in my grade who were the hot slutty messy bitches - I’d call them popular because I bitched about them as the popular bitches back then but I don’t know how many friends they actually had like mostly we whined about them and dudes fucked them - who were ALL OVER EACH OTHER. Like they made out at parties, they claimed to do other stuff with each other in front of boys or ask boys what they wanted to see them do, they used to be OBNOXIOUS. They were also - and are still - EXTREMELY homophobic like it was fully for dudes.

I Kissed A Girl was big at that point and their party trick was to make out and be all over each other for that song while dudes whooped.

Fun anecdote of being a baby gay: I remember one time we were at a party at this senior boy’s house and he asked me to dance and I was shy and insecure and awkward af at this stage and didn’t think I was even marginally pretty so it felt like a bad joke to me and THAT song came on and they started doing that and I got so caught up watching them and he was like “hey is everything fine” and I was like “I’m so sorry” and I like RAN outside and felt like a huge freak.

Now both those girls are… straight lol. They were just messy bitches. Anyway.

Then there was another girl in our grade who was a butch masc lesbian - and closeted af. Like we could see she was gay yk because of her gender presentation and vibe and just… besties this girl is like Kinsey 10… but she fully dated boys and made out with them especially very publicly and AFTER SCHOOL was briefly engaged to a guy and didn’t go through with it and came out as a lesbian and everyone was like “FUCKING FINALLY!!!” and good for her.

Then there were all my friends who made the regular MySpace type jokes.

And then we had one girl in our circle who was absolutely obsessed with boys but… a bit too into the jokes. The guys used to joke she should hook up with the two exhibitionists and she used to like giggle and be into it and be like “hahahaha AND WHAT IF I DID????” I’m still friendly with her and like AS AN ADULT - not in uni when the Kinsey 6 girl and I came out, like recently - she’s softly come out bi.

I would absolutely not be shocked if Tay has that type of thing going on. Like that girl is currently with a dude and will most likely endgame with a dude but no the girl stuff wasn’t for attention and she isn’t straight she’s just… a lil bit fruity and good for her.

hi!!! what are your favourite movies? like actually good ones but also any trashy comfort movies? is IT (2017) one of them?

Hello!! IT (2017) IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THEM oh man, thank you for this, I love talking about movies!!!! This is possibly the most difficult question you could have asked me. Apologies for how absolutely off the rails this got, I just... love movies so much lmao

I’ve said this before, but opening night of IT ch1 was the best cinema experience I’ve ever had, I’m so glad I got to see it with a fully packed audience who were all laughing and screaming together the whole way through. I’m a huge fan of... everything ch1 was doing, the 80s nostalgia, the summer-coming-of-age themes, the solid ghost train funhouse JOY of the Pennywise performance and scares, the washed-out cinematography, the tiny background details to make everything that much more eerie, the kids’ ACTING?!

Like, a lot of the time I find child actors can be really awkward and stilted to watch, but I remember leaving the cinema really impressed by JDG and Sophia Lillis in particular. I liked that they were all allowed to be little shitheads with potty mouths, it felt like a callback to 80s movies like The Lost Boys or Stand By Me. The whole thing worked to make me really care about what happened to the kids (even if I do still have issues with how they handled Mike. I understand even ch1 had limitations with juggling so many characters, but still). I saw it another 2 times in the cinema and have rewatched it at least, I dunno, 7-10 more times since then?

Add to all of that the retroactive CANON R+E baby pining subplot? I just love it, as if that wasn’t obvious by now given my Whole Blog. It’s a really special movie to me!

Anyway!! Ok, the main handful of movies I rewatch all the fucking time are:

Back to the Future, The Lost Boys, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Jaws, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Ocean’s 11, POTC 1, The Dark Knight, Inception, Die Hard, LOTR trilogy, Snatch, The Nice Guys, Logan Lucky, Mad Max Fury Road, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Billy Elliot, Dirty Dancing, Tomb Raider (2018)...

Those are the easily consumable ones that I’ve seen so many times I don’t really have to concentrate or think about them, but I really love them and unfortunately often KEEP rewatching them instead of new stuff. It would take too long to go into why I love all these movies so much because I could write the same amount as I already did for ITCH1, and everyone already knows why those movies are good, so, lol.

I think I’m gonna have to subdivide and categorise this whole post because there are too many separate criteria for... goOD MOVIES, AUUHH 😩

Okay so first off, HORROR MOVIES? I’m especially in love with Re-Animator (1985) and its sequel Bride of Re-Animator, they’re such good examples of camp and batshit 80s practical effects, and also EXTREMELY funny. I’m actually just gonna post my list of my fave horror movies that I do actually keep on my phone at all times lmao. These are in no particular order:

Wholeheartedly recommend every one of these. I’ve never been so scared in my life as I was watching Hereditary in the cinema, hoo boy. Mother! by Aronofsky is one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had (and I actually saw it on the same day I saw IT ch1 for the first time!! That was a fun day)

Psycho (1960) and The Fly from 1986 should also be on there but I couldn’t fit them in the screenshot.

I’m a HUGE fan of a ton of martial arts movies too, like Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer, Ip Man, The Raid movies, John Wick 3 is my fave of the trilogy, Drive from 1997 with Mark Dacascos is incredible, SPL 2, Ong-Bak, Operation Condor, Project A, Iron Monkey, and Zatoichi (2003) are some favourites.

My favourite Tarantino is Reservoir Dogs, fave Coen brothers are Raising Arizona, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and O Brother Where Art Thou. Love some old-timey colour correction and weird offbeat dialogue. I also love Goodfellas!!! And Donnie Brasco! And The Firm, I’m so easy for any good crime/law/gangster/heist procedural like that, especially if they’re from the 80s or 90s in a super dated way.

Fave Disney movie is Tarzan, favourite Ghibli movies are Spirited Away and Lupin III. I remember watching Spirited Away during a thunderstorm one time and it being.... god! Transcendent! Favourite Pixar movie is The Incredibles (the first one. ALSO the documentary “The Pixar Story” is great and well worth a watch, it’s very comforting for some reason) and my favourite Dreamworks movies are HTTYD1 and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron.

I tend to watch more anime movies than tv shows, so stuff like Akira, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Journey to Agartha, and my ultimate fave anime is Sword of the Stranger (2008). The climactic fight in that movie is fucking stunning and should be counted in “bests fights” lists right alongside anything live action

Also if we’re talking animated movies another hearty favourite is Rango, and a Belgian stop-motion (which at one time I considered my favourite movie ever) called Panique Au Village (2009) which is one of the funniest movies ever made imo.

As for TRASHY movies, I’m not sure if that’s the right word for how I feel about these ones but.. dumb/silly/slightly guilty pleasure movies? Ones that I feel need some kind of justification lmfao

Troy - something u must know about me is that I’m a giant slut for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, so if a movie smashes historical and mythological nonsense together with fun costumes and sword fights, I’m gonna enjoy myself. Even if they should have made Achilles and Patroclus gay. Other movies in this vein are King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Immortals (2011)

Gods of Egypt - I know all the reasons this movie is whitewashed bullshit. But it was already bullshit with giant Anubis mecha and giant snakes and bad acting and ridiculous CGI and frankly I had a blast at the cinema (my friend who I forced to come with me did not have a blast. Sorry H***)

Avatar - yes, the one with the big blue people. This movie gets a lot of flack nowadays but I really do enjoy it just for the spectacle. The full CGI world technology was so new at the time and I love to wallow in the visuals and daydream about riding a cool dragon around in the jungle

George of the Jungle - I’ll defend this movie to the death ok this movie shaped me as a person, it is fucking hilarious and Brendan Fraser is the himbo to end all himbos. It’s perfect. The song Dela is perfect. I still want to write a reddie AU about it. It’s one of the best movies ever made and I’m not being ironic

Set It Up - I KNOW this is a dumb Netflix original romcom but consider this; it was funny and the leads had great chemistry. I got butterflies. I once watched it and then literally immediately set it back to the start so I could watch it again

The Brady Bunch Movie - when people talk about great satires or parodies you will see them bring up the same movies over and over again, Blazing Saddles, This Is Spinal Tap etc, but they never talk about The Brady Bunch Movie from 1995 for some reason, which they should. It is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen and every time i watch it somehow it gets funnier

NOTABLE EXTREME FAVOURITES that I didn’t include in the regular rewatch list because they’re too heavy/not as well known/require more attention.:

Thin Red Line (1998), Badlands (1973) both dir. Terrence Malick

Malick’s brand of dreamy impressionistic filmmaking is something I find really appealing, both of these movies are gorgeous and unusual and poignant and, in the case of Thin Red Line at least, have a lot of things to say about a lot of rough subjects. I don’t totally understand all those things sometimes, but a theme with a lot of my favourite movies is that I’ll be more likely to love something long-term if it raises unanswered questions, or is surreal/esoteric etc. Plus the cinematography is incredible, and I wish there was a way to get Jim Caviezel’s narration from The Thin Red Line as an audiobook because it’s very poetic and soothing.

Let the Bullets Fly (2010) dir. Jiang Wen

This movie is WILD, it’s so much fun. It’s sprawling and intricate and epic and smart and really fucking funny, it! Has! Everything! A gang of very tolerant outlaws!! Jiang Wen’s beautiful broad chest!!! Chow Yun Fat absolutely DECIMATING the scenery, and the two of them outsmarting each other in order to gain control of a small Chinese town!!! Plus it’s long, but it packs so much nonsense and intrigue that it goes by really fast. Wow what a flick

A Field in England (2013) dir. Ben Wheatley

I know I included this in my horror list but aaaaahhh ahhhh Wheatley is one of my favourite directors (he also made Sightseers, and is directing the Tomb Raider sequel which makes me absolutely rabid.) This is a surreal black-and-white psychological horror black comedy set in the English Civil War about some deserters who may or may not meet the Devil in a field. People eat mushrooms. It’s bonkers. I love being blasted in the face with imagery that I don’t understand

Mandy (2018) dir. Panos Cosmatos

Speaking of being blasted in the face!!!!! This movie... I saw it in the cinema and I can’t even begin to explain the experience, but I’ll try. My favourite review site described it like this:

“...somewhere between a prog album cover come to life and a metal album cover come to life, and subscribes to both genre's artistic tendency towards maximalism: what it ends up being is basically naught else but two glorious hours of being pounded by bold colors...”

So, prog and metal are my two favourite genres of music. This movie opens with the quote “When I die, bury me deep, lay two speakers at my feet, put some headphones on my head and rock and roll me when I'm dead.” and then a King Crimson song, it is SURREAL to the nth degree, it’s violent and bizarre and Nic Cage forges a giant silver axe to destroy demonic bikers and there is a CHAINSAW DUEL. A galaxy swirls above a quarry. Multiple animated horror nightmare sequences. At one point a man says “you exude a cosmic darkness” and releases a live tiger. At another point Cage says, in a digitally deepened voice, “The psychotic drowns where the mystic swims. You’re drowning. I’m swimming.” and I haven’t stopped thinking about it for two years

Paper Moon (1973) dir. Peter Bogdanovich

Really fantastic movie set in the Great Depression (and also in black & white) about a conman and a little kid who may or may not be his daughter, running cons across the Midwest. It’s beautifully shot, so sharp and sweet and the progression of their dynamic is really well done because they’re played by an IRL father and daughter. Tatum O’Neal was NINE YEARS OLD and she’s so amazing in this movie she’s actually the youngest person to win a competitive category Oscar. I keep trying to get people to watch this fbdjfjdbf it’s wonderful

Alpha (2018) dir. Albert Hughes

THIS MOVIE IS A VICTIM OF BAD MARKETING ok, the trailers made it look like some twee crappy sentimental Boy And His Dog Adventure, plus it had voiceovers in American-accented english? That’s a total disservice to one of the coolest things about this film; the fact that they got a linguist to construct an entirely original Neolithic language that all the characters speak for the entire runtime. And yes, it is eventually a Boy And His Wolf adventure, but it’s COOL and fairly brutal, and it has some really incredible cinematography. The landscapes are so strange and barren and alien, you really get the sense that this is an ancient world we no longer have any connection to. And it’s also about like, the birth of dog & human companionship sooo it’s perfect.

Free Solo (2018) dir. Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin

The Free Climbing Documentary. I loved climbing as a kid, I love outdoor sports, and I love movies that elicit a physical reaction in me, whether that’s horny, scared, real laughter, overwhelming shivers, or in the case of Free Solo - HORRIBLE SWEATING TENSION. Like, I knew about Alex Honnold beforehand because of this adventure film festival I go to every year and I followed him on IG so obviously I knew he lived, but the actual climb itself was torture. My hands sweat every time I see it!! It’s incredible, such a cool look into generally what the human body can do, and more specifically, why Honnold’s psychology and life means he’s so well suited to free soloing. It’s such an exercise in getting to know an individual and get invested in them, before they attempt something very potentially fatal.

Brokeback Mountain (2005) dir. Ang Lee

I can’t even talk about this. When I was around 13 I snuck downstairs to watch this on TV at 11pm in secret, and my life was forever changed. I wouldn’t be who I am if I hadn’t seen Brokeback at the age I did. I seriously can’t talk about this or I’ll write an even longer essay than this already is

God’s Own Country (2017) dir. Francis Lee

The antidote to Brokeback Mountain, I’m so glad I managed to see this one in the cinema too. It makes me cry every time, as someone who’s spent years working on a cold British farm with sheep it was very realistic, which is expected since Lee grew up on a farm in Yorkshire. I love that this movie isn’t really about being closeted, but about being so emotionally repressed and self-loathing that the main character finds it so hard to accept love. Or that he deserves to be loved. The cinnamontographies.... lordt... but also the intimacy and sex scenes are fucking searing wow who hasn’t seen this movie by now. 10 stars. 20 stars!!!

Tomboy (2011) dir. Céline Sciamma

I saw this years ago but I’ve never forgotten it, it cut so deep. It’s from the director of Portrait of a Lady on Fire and it’s about a gnc kid struggling with gender and misogyny and homophobia in a really raw, scrappy way, it reminded me very much of my own... childhood... ahh the central performance is amazing for such a young age. I haven’t seen Portrait yet but I feel like if you went nuts for that, you should definitely check this out, it’s lovely.

Donnie Darko (2001) dir. Richard Kelly

EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS MOVIE I UNDERSTAND LESS AND LESS and that’s what I love so much about it. I love surreal movies, I love time-fuckery and stuff about altered perception etc etc and Donnie Darko scratches all my itches. I wish I could find a way to figure out an IT AU for it, because I know it would work! Somehow! Plus it’s got the subdued 80s nostalgia and I found it at an age when I was really starting to explore movies and music and the soundtrack FUCKS.

Offside (2006) dir. Jafar Panahi

I wish more people knew about this!!! It’s an Iranian film about a disparate group of women and girls who are football fans and want to watch Iran’s qualifying match for the World Cup, but women aren’t allowed into the stadium, so they all get thrown into the Stadium Jail together? They don’t know each other beforehand, but it’s about their changing relationships with each other and the guards and just, their defiance alongside hearing the match from the outside and WOW it’s so lively. Great dialogue and very funny, and such a different kind of story from anything you usually see from Hollywood.

The Fall (2006) dir. Tarsem Singh

This movie... I guess it’s the ideal. This is the platonic ideal of a film for me, it has fantasy, magical realism, glorious visuals, amazing score and costumes and production design and a really interesting, heartbreaking relationship at the core of it. I don’t know why so many of my favourite films feature incredibly raw performances by child actors but this is another one, Catinca Untaru barely knew any English and improvised so much because of that, and it’s fascinating to watch! Also the dynamic with Lee Pace is one of my favourites, where a kid forms a friendship with a guardian figure who isn’t their parent, but the guardian grows to really care for them by the end. It’s like Paper Moon in that sense. What is there to even say about this movie, it’s pure magic joy tempered and countered by genuine gutwrenching emotional conflict in the real world, it’s also ABOUT old moviemaking, in a way, and it’s stunning to look at!

Mad Max Fury Road (2015) dir. George Miller

I know I included this in my “most rewatched” section but it deserves its own thing. We all know why this movie is fucking incredible. I remember clutching my armrests in the cinema and feeling like my skeleton was being blasted back into the seat behind me and tbh that is the high I’m constantly chasing when I go to see any movie. What a fucking gift this film is

Théo et Hugo dans le Même Bateau (2016) dir. Olivier Ducastel, Jacques Martineau

I only found this movie last year and it became an instant favourite. Initially I was just curious because I’d never seen a movie with unsimulated sex before, but it’s so much more than the 18 minute gay sex club orgy it opens with. No, not more than, AS WELL AS. The orgy is important because this movie is so candid and frank about sex and HIV treatment in the modern day, it was eye-opening. Another thing that really got me is that I’d never seen a real-time film before. It’s literally an hour and a half in the lives of these two men, their intense connection and conversation and conflict in the middle of the night in Paris, with some really nice night photography and just!!! Wow!!! AMAZING CHEMISTRY between the actors. This is such a gem if you’re comfortable with explicit sexual content.

Ok. This is already over 3k but film is obviously one of my ridiculous passions and I can and do talk about it for hours. I’ve been reading magazines about it for years, listening to podcasts and reading review blogs and recently, watching video essays on YouTube because the whole process is so interesting to me and I want to learn more!!

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of valuing form over narrative. The idea that story can often come second to the deeper physical experience and emotional reaction that’s created by using ALL the elements of filmmaking and not just The Story, y’know? Whether that’s editing, shot composition, colour, the sound mix, the actors, how it should all be used to heighten the emotional state the script wants you to feel. And so, I think for a few years now this approach has been influencing the types of films I really, really love.

I think I love surreality and mind-bending magical realism in films specifically because the filmmakers have to use all those different tools to convey things that can be way too metaphysical for just... a script? I’m always chasing that physical response; if a movie can make me stop thinking “I wonder what it was like to set up that shot” and instead overwhelm that suspension of disbelief, if I can be terrified or woozy or crying for whatever reason, that’s what I’m looking for. That’s why I watch so many fuckin movies, and why I’ll always remember nights like seeing IT (2017) for giving me another favourite.

it’s cold, it’s awful weather. it’s been like this for some time now and honestly what the frig mother nature

the rain is beautiful, i love rain sm idk bout y’all

but sometimes when it gets toooooo chilly and there’s been a bad cold and fever outbreak around the place, obviously the rainy weather is a lil irritating

especially because...yay! you’ve been cursed with a cold thanks to someone at school

fuck i get colds all the time ugh

but that’s only because i’m vegetarian and don’t take my iron tablets even though i got bad iron deficiency fwefjwehjhe

anyway

so you’ve had to miss out on school this week because you’re sick as a dog and you kinda feel like you’re on your death bed.

the whole day you finished on some homework that was due and napped and watched tv. literally it’s been pretty boring, and you’ve already gone through a box of tissues because jEsus how much mucas does your body actually have lmfao.

also you’re completely drugged up from the amount of cold and flu tablets you’ve taken.

your mum tried making you drink some of that nasty ass ‘strawberry’ flavoured cough medicine even though it tastes like a burnt chemical that lives within the depths of brutal hell and NOTHING like strawberry. but you cried hard enough that she gave up on trying.

you miss finn because he’s at school and you want to cry.

but you know what? finn being the best boyfriend, he’ll text you every morning that you’ve been sick this week wishing for you to feel better and that he’ll see you after school.

which he always does.

finn would knock on the house door and your mum would let him in, giving him good luck to not get sick as he would make his way to your room

and when you would see him after just blowing your nose, omg the biggest smile would grow upon both of your faces

even though finn kinda scrunches his face up because OBVIOUSLY your body thinks it’s the perfect time to give you a nice coughing fit just after choking out a greeting

“geez you don’t look too good” finn would snicker as he’d sit on the edge of your bed and hand you more homework that was assigned to you by your teachers and chocolate he brought from the store before coming over here. even tho chocolate isn’t the best thing to have when you’re sick, you still gladly take it.

you’ll glare at him as you say, “shut the fUCK up” in a hoarse and dry voice

finn would laugh

so while he’s there, finn likes to make you some soup because ugh we love a boyfriend who can cook

and by cook i mean he just makes two-minute noodles but it’s the thought that c o u n t s

you enjoy snapchatting him when he’s making the soup ( cue the gif from above bois )

he just shakes his head and laughs

finn also refills your glass of water and makes sure you take your tablets at the right time, and as much as you banter him for being a second mum to you

you still love it

and ooooo you sure love the tea finn spills

at this point he’d be cradling you in his arms from behind on your bed

so at least finn isn’t coping your bad sick breath and if you need the box of tissues, he’s able to grab it for you without you moving.

“well, my science teacher said orgasm instead of organism and-”

you choked hard on your water

“WHAT??!?!!”

finn nodded his head, a small chuckle escaping his throat when he heard you laugh

“yeah, it was so funny! he was embarrassed as shit and basically, the whole class paid him out for it for the rest of the lesson”

SOME GUY IN MY SCIENCE CLASS DID THAT AND I’M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW I HAVE NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD

you were giggling as much as you could before you started to go into a coughing fit, but it was still funny. and you muttered a small, “oh poor guy!” before kindly asking for the box of tissues.

for the rest of the time that finn was there, you guys cuddled and watched a movie

finn likes to banter about you being sick

so when you cough, he’ll dramatically gasp and choke

“oH GROSS”

you groan

also when you have to blow your nose finn just scrunches his face up and sighs heavily

“i buy you chocolate and care for you and thIS IS THE THANKS I GET?”

you were so close to deliberately coughing in his face but all you do is just roll your eyes and nudge his stomach with your elbow.

but it’s all for shits and giggles, and honest to god, finn actually loves taking care of you and making sure you’re okay because that’s how great of a boyfriend he is.

and as much as he wants to because he loves affection, you don’t let him kiss you.

sometimes you’ll fall asleep in his arms because you’re so tired from staying up late being sick and such, and finn admires how quiet you are and not blowing snot everywhere lol

also, he may have kissed your forehead a couple of times because he can’t help himself

you never find out tho

when you fall asleep, that’s more of finn’s cue to leave since he sure knows that you won’t be waking up till two hours later. and the boy has to get home before it goes dark - yes, you two live close to one another.

so when you do wake up after a big phat three-hour nap, you’re in awe with how comfortable you are

lmao i literally had a three-hour nap between 3pm-6pm it was amazing

so that’s when you realise that finn literally tucked you into bed, made sure you slept with two pillows, refilled your water one last time and left you a lil note that wrote:

sorry i had to go, i didn’t want to walk home at night and it looked like you really needed to sleep lol. i really hope you get better though because i miss you at school. love you, baby, see you soon. - finnieeee

hellooo!! sorry this is late school killed me today but here you go:

1. true detective! first season. i only watched the first season but it’s really good, they’re all different stories so you can just watch that one and not the others, or all of them

2. black mirror. everyone knows it at this point im pretty sure but it’s really interesting, the effects of technology painted in a dark light

3. breaking bad. again, probably everyone knows this but i highly recommend it -its enjoyable, and very interesting! very tense as well. also highly unpredictable which imo makes a show good, when you can actually worry about the characters

4. chernobyl. highly recommend it if you’re interested in the disaster, i think it’s very very good

5. sherlock. this may be overhyped and very spoken of but i highly recommend it. it’s true, sherlock is very caricatured and it might feel unrealistic, but that’s what makes it good imo. not to mention benedict is PERFECT for the role of sherlock, and has a terrific balance with john watson (martin freeman)

6. over the garden wall. an animation! i highly recommend it, i found it very interesting when i watched it

7. stranger things. yup, another popular one, but i do think it’s worth it! so far, s1 remains the best for me, but i don’t think the quality lowers too much from s1 to s2 and s3. worth it!

8. third rock from the sun. listen if you like comedies this is HILARIOUS. it’s one of my favourite concepts: aliens come to earth and must act as humans, but humans make 0 sense to them so they’re just stumbling w odd phrases and odd costumes of ours lmfao

9. doctor who. ok another popular one! i especially liked the 9th doctor (1st season), and i haven’t finished (i didnt get past 11th for personal reasons) but i recommend it! its very entertaining and interesting

10. the leftovers. i dont have much to say but its an interesting concept, also one of the actors is the actor that plays 9th doctor so ofc i’ll like it lol

11. the terror. very very interesting! i dont have much to say either but it’s definitely worth watching, also just 1 season

12. the chilling adventures of sabrina - honestly, i feel like ppl think this is too hyped up? maybe im wrong, but : it definitely isn’t. it’s very fun and interesting, im in the middle of watching it rn

13. haunting of hill house. if you like horror shows, i think this one was good!

14. haunting of bly manor. made by the same people from haunting of hill house, and its based off on a book ive read! they changed it quite a bit but it’s still pretty enjoyable

It’s Christmas Time!

You spent many nights in bed quite restless lately. Maybe it was your new job keeping you up at night, your diet had changed a little bit, you weren’t as active with all of the things going on—stress probably had a lot to do with it. Often you were up and about, stretching when you couldn’t sleep, grabbing a glass of water, sometimes you went into the living room to read or watch TV, trying not to disturb your loving boyfriend who slept more soundly than a rock, despite all of your movement, usually.

But that didn’t seem to be the case tonight. You were having a bad case of restless leg syndrome, constantly flipping and flopping this way and that, not only unable to get comfortable but for some reason it was much too hot. Frustration was becoming apparent, especially as you huffed, two seconds away from throwing the covers off yourself before a pair of strong arms snaked around your waist.

Your sigh changed to that of contentedness instead of frustration as he snuggled into your back, the heat from his bare chest pressing against your shoulder blades, exposed by your silk nightgown as he exhaled into the crook of your neck. His eyes slowly opened to the dark room, looking towards the blinds that shielded the moonlight from the bedroom.

“You’re so restless,” he muttered to you, voice raspy from sleep, but it made you shiver in a way that caused him to chuckle and tighten his grip on you.

“I’m sorry; I try not to disturb you as much as possible,” you whispered back, lacing your fingers with his over the top of his hand, tucked deep around your middle.

“You never disturb me, baby girl,” he muttered back, kissing you behind the ear.

He couldn’t see the smile on your face, but it was there before you decided to get up. You threw the covers off yourself, even though he protested, and made your way to the bathroom. Even though you’d closed the door, you could hear the shuffling of the sheets and his feet hit the cold wood flooring. You turned the faucet on to splash your face with cold water for a moment and toweled it off before opening the door.

Hyuk stood there in all his basically naked glory in the bathroom light, looking down at you. Tenderly, he reached up to stroke your cheek with the back of his hand. You couldn’t help but look him over—you rarely got to see him this way. With gentle fingers over his skin, you reached out to trail from his collar to his navel, letting the curves and crevices of his body guide your way while his arms slacked to his sides. His intense gaze was on you; that much you could feel.

A quiet hum fell from his lips, pinning your hand against his low abdomen. The clock read nearly three in the morning but Hyuk still had the audacity to suggest, “If you can’t sleep… we could have sex.”

“You’re Satan,” you objected, drawing that wicked grin onto his face as you other hand rose to push against his chest, pushing him out of the doorway to the bathroom and back towards the bed. His chuckle in your ear was a reminder that he was just joking, but even though he was…

“You little shit,” you muttered to him, the bathroom light from the open door illuminating every one of your actions as that damned smirk cross his lips, both your hands against his chest to push him down onto the bed. He merely fell to his butt, looking up at you with that face.

“You know I like it rough,” he told you, growling teasingly as both of your hands made contact with his chest again to push him onto his back for only a moment before he was sitting up again.

“You really are Satan!” you nearly hollered, attempting to turn around to shut the bathroom light off and if Hyuk wasn’t as swift as he was, you probably would have made it. He grabbed your hips, tugging you back to him, and you had no choice but to bend your knees and let him drag you onto his lap.

Straddling him, he coaxed your arms around his neck when you decided you weren’t going to struggle. One of your arms dangled off his shoulder, the other stroking through his chocolate brown hair, pulling it away from his neck and carding through it the way he loved. It was an affectionate moment, even as he hiked your nightgown up to feel the entirety of your bare thighs—you shouldn’t have expected anything else given the subject you two were just bantering about.

He had dragged you so far into his lap, it was hard for your noses not to brush, which he took full advantage of. He nuzzled your nose with his own until he took your chin, tilting your head down just enough for him to collect your lips in a soft and tender kiss. He effortlessly flipped the two of you over, laying you back into bed before his lips pulled away.

“Hyuk,” you protested as he dragged your hand from the back of his neck, kissing the back of it and every single one of your fingers.

“Stay here,” he whispered to you, leaning up to kiss your forehead. Your eyes fluttered closed, the butterflies in your stomach raging, even still after all these years. He pulled the blankets over you and shut the bathroom light off on his way out to the kitchen, emerging a couple minutes later with a cup of tea—a special blend that only he knew how to make that put you to sleep almost instantly after finishing it. He never would tell you the secret, but he always made it for you when you would wake in the middle of the night.

Instead of crawling into bed, he sat on your side as you sat propped up against the headboard. He watched your eyes get heavy with sleep, smiling adoringly at you, unable to help himself from leaning over to kiss your cheek. You tried to lean into his kiss, but it was gone almost the same instant it was there and you could feel him gingerly trying to coax the mug from your hand.

“Sleep tight, my love,” he whispered as you slumped into the covers with a bit of his help. You were out like a light before he could even get back from the kitchen—you never felt the dip of the bed or the warmth of his skin on yours.

First of all, he most definitely LOVES your style, he has a total thing for girls that wear dark/spooky stuff, and especially fishnets he will just go crazy lmaooo.

He's more of a video game guy, but this doesn't mean he doesn't like movies. Since he's normally on technology anyway, he doesn't mind at all just sitting on a couch with you, his arm around your shoulder watching whatever movie you want or suggest for him. He personally has a thing for horror movies and such too, he has a whole collection of cool ass horrors that he's personally not very scared of since yknow, considering his job and the kind of being he is it wouldnt make sense for him to be scared lmfao but he likes seeing your reactions and even when you're not scared or the movie is bad, he loves to make fun of the movie with you and laugh at the mistakes they made or how dumb the characters are. He also thinks action and superheros are cool too especially since the video games he plays have a lot of action in them so he just naturally sees himself controlling the people in the movie lmao.

He loves seeing your art and your writing, its a nice change for him from just constant gaming or staring at a screen, and reading your writing and seeing your skill when drawing gives him more life than he usually has (which is ironic considering he's a ghost lmao).

When you make original characters, he likes to code games to add your characters into them in a creative way and you two just play around with it and just have fun as everything else is in total chaos LMAOO.

He has this weird joke where he makes fun of people that like anime or "lol weeb" kind of humor but deep down he watches anime religiously and when you mention you like watching anime he'll make fun of you at first but will end up slipping up and saying he likes a certain anime, and once you pry him enough after that you see all the anime he has hidden away on his TV and you both can just spend hours and hours talking about anime, talking about the ones you like and don't like and sometimes arguing because one of you likes one the other doesn't and sometimes it annoys the other pastas because you two can be so loud.

He's also very willing to start a conversation with you if you aren't able to start one because he just has so many memes in his head. He's not the best as intelligent conversations but its okay because he's 100% willing to just let you talk on and on about things that interest you or hear you rant about psychology or societal issues, and if he's not feeling brain dead as fuck he will most likely contribute and actually give his 2 cents and trust me, when he does, he's actually very down to earth and understanding about things like that. He just doesn't normally show that because he invests himself in videogames too much to care most of the time but if you bring it up and he's interested he loves to have a conversation with you.

He loves making you laugh, he could just sit with you for hours cracking jokes and never get tired of it since he gets to see the smile on your face and it brightens his day up. He also loves looking through memes and watching dumb videos on youtube with you. And don't you worry, he will give you attention all damn day if you want it. He's just so smitten with you, when you two are around the other pastas he constantly shows you off to them and shows them how your his.

He's mostly a shut-in guy but it's most definitely a breath of fresh air for him to go outside for awhile with you to a Walmart or a mall when he's able to conceal his, ghost-ness. You're one of the only people he's willing to go out in public with, and when you both do he just lives in the moment with you and you two do all kinds of fun stuff together. You're such a nice change for him in his life and he loves you for that.

He also dislikes people to dim the mood mostly because he's a memey guy and hates it when people take a joke too seriously or make the joke unfunny, it just annoys him. He has a bit of dark humor which is kind of given considering he is a serial killer but if it makes you uncomfortable he totally understands and will refrain from using that kind of humor when you're around. You two also share a love for halloween, since he's a ghost and doesn't really have the... human kind of appearance and it's unusual for Slender to let him take on a human form, halloween gives him a chance to go out on the streets with you and not worry about his appearance and he also gets to change into a cosplay with you.

He also doesn't like children lmao, they're so noisy to him and disrupt his videogame time when they're around. He's really not much of a reader but if it's your writing he most definitely will read it, or if you really want to share a book with him he doesn't mind going out of his way to read it. He might end up even enjoying it and coding the actions in the book into a videogame. He likes parties too, mostly because it can be a ground of total pranktime for him. He'll probably throw citrus at you just to be like "Shit, my bad. Bye".

You like bees and seals? Alright, this man will literally kidnap so many bees for you to look at. Oh, whats that weird thing in the background? He totally didn't hack into an aquarium place just to get you a seal or anything...

What’s your favourite flower?

hmmm i’ve said this before but i do love pink lilies! i also love hydrangeas and orange blossoms and i think the skeleton flower is cool as heck (it’s a flower that turns crystal-clear when wet)

i like sunrises bc it’s colder and there are always a lot of bugs around at sunset...not to mention it gets dark really quickly!

yep! plenty hahaha. i have one where Ambiguous Person and i are hiking through the woods, another where we’re trying to ballroom dance and then one where we’re forced to share a bed... you know the one... (SORRY i’m so soft when it comes to romance)

ahhh okay at first my bias was jongin?? bc i usually like the dancers? and i was watching a lot of exo-k so i didn’t even know about jd but like... i watched a couple of lives and his voice just got me... and then of course all those ‘try not to fangirl’ challenges that sucked the life out of me

What’s one song from your bias group that can always make you happy?

i love love love replay! especially the live ver. where they all cried... i cry everytime i hear it too?? and the whole lucifer album also (surprise!! my bias group isn’t exo lmao)

i’ve only been to two :( both of them were incredible though! i saw yanni live & a classical concert by zubin mehta + the australian world orchestra and !!!! mesmerizing experiences! now if i could just see tsfh i’d die happy

like i said i don’t like films much but,,, i do love space movies and historical settings! i can’t recall any besides interstellar which most people have probably watched

i’ve dnf’ed a loooot of books! most recently, a court of thorns and roses (s. j. maas) & caraval (stephanie garber) MAN i really hated those

oh boy considering there’s only a month and a half left... finish my ongoing series, be done with all my school stuff and ready for my exams in january, and organize the trip i want to go on with my friends after graduation!

What is your dream job?

i wanna be a teacher or a professor! maybe go around the world and teach in poorer regions? i actually have this dream to start an organization for volunteer teaching in low-income areas around the world. after i retire, i want to run a cafe/library in a really secluded place.

I just read all of Santis story. Dear god, it is amazing. I cannot begin to describe how much I love it. I have been really sick lately and have such a hard time concentrating on anything for more than one second but I have not been able to look away from this story, not even when I re-read it for the third time. You are an amazing writer and I have fallen in love with every charachter you have introduced. I teared up so many times and my heart began beating fast, it was really an experience.
