Text
Imagine: Obi-Wan’s secretive lover manages to escape Order 66, but he cannot reach out for her. In fact, for the safety of their unborn child, he’s not even aware she’s pregnant. And he doesn’t know that she died in labor. You end up being found by Clone Order 99 and fall in the graces of the Bad Batch. It’s all very good until one day he senses Force in Tatooine, which leads right into…you.
Warnings: drama as usual and fluffy, of course. References to “Clone Wars” and “Bad Batch”, maybe something about “Obi-Wan”, but no spoilers.

Intro
Ashyra was the last jedi trained by Master Yoda a few years after Dooku was corrupted to the dark side. The woman of pink irises was once told by Yoda about it.
“Too old for this I am”, said he. “After Dooku’s fall, start question myself as a master Jedi I did. Somehow hope in you there is.”
Force flew naturally through her. She possessed no signs of ego, no remarkable flaw; a general favorite, was there ever somebody as calm as Ash?
It was how the lady of pink eyes and hair yellow as gold captured the eyes of Obi-Wan Kenobi. It started as merely acquaintances discovering mutual ways of thinking in missions which soon developed to trust and friendship. But there was one day in space this friendship would start to show it’s true colors.
“I think the only way to get ourselves warm is to get rid of these clothes”, she suggested him.
It came out naively, but soon Ash and Kenobi started making out and in the discovery of something new, completely unbeknownst to both, desire sparked.
Because they both had enjoyed that night, they did again. Each time they met. At every opportunity. Until this became more than merely friends with benefits. There were feelings involved.
And all of this right bloomed right towards the end of the Clone Wars. Ash found herself pregnant, but she didn’t want to risk telling Obi-Wan about it when he was under great stress. It didn’t help either that, right after he left, she had to escape somewhere the Order 66 wouldn’t affect her.
However, due to the amount of stress, right somewhere in Corcusant far from the fall of Jedis and distant from the rise of Empire, Ash gave birth to her daughter, her only child. There were two friends she could entrust the care of this girl, whom she named Y/N. But she was also strangely weak as a result of a long and complicated labor. Puerperal fever knocked at her door.
She thus came to die. And for some miracle you survived.
***
Your POV.
You detest that planet. You tell yourself you are not going to last longer there. It’s been two months since Aunt Joyce disappeared under mysterious circumstances and never made it back. You are alone in this world and it’s scary as hell.
Living in the underworld of Corcusant provided you safety and somewhat comfort for some time. Now that you lost your aunt, however, who was meant to look after you?
You are just a girl of reddish locks and pink eyes. Sometimes you thought whoever your parents were to give you such a look—your aunt never made to tell you about who they were, only that they died because of the war.
The topic was sensitive to her so you never brought the matter to the table. Why should you think about it, though? You are now working as a mechanic when this big, huge clone man shows up.
And you know it’s a clone, even though you’ve never been up there to meet one, because you remember your aunt telling you stories about clones who used to be good guys. Until all of a sudden… one snap and they turned bad.
Your eyes are wide open when seeing this large, tall, muscled clone before you.
“Please don’t hurt me, sir”, you say it, your voice coming out in a higher tone than intended.
The clone looks at you, puzzled.
“What is a little girl such as yourself doing here?” But seeing you fears, he kneels to match your height. “Please, calm yourself. I am not going to do you any harm.”
You sense he’s speaking the truth. It’s strange how you can always tell people’s intentions, with you very rarely wrong on it. Nonetheless, you think you offer him resistance by crossing your arms.
“I am calm. But it’s a strange business you are doing here…”
A second voice interrupts the thread.
“Wrecker, what’s taking you so long?”
“Hey I have to deal to with a pretty strong head girl. What can I do?”
The one clone with a red banger over his forehead gives you a look and then back to the stronger one whose face is marked by scars.
“Really, Wrecker?” But when seeing the fear in your eyes, he kneels too. “It’s all right. We are not going to hurt you. We came to discuss business with a woman named Joyce. Do you know her?”
“Uh. Who are you?”
“Hunter. And this is my partner, Wrecker. We are not like the clones you might have heard about. We…are different.”
Wrecker is the one who inquires your name. In a funny contrast of his strength and his sensibility, you cannot help but sympathize with him.
“So, Y/N…” Hunter catches your attention again. “Where’s Mrs Joyce?”
The second you hesitate, he already knows.
“I don’t know. I… It’s been months since she said she was going to the market and never came back. I’m luck I wasn’t bothered so far by potential weirdos”, you tell them.
Hunter doesn’t like the idea of you being alone. Neither does Wrecker, who’s almost brought to tears by an eight year girl alone, looking after abandoned pieces of trash without someone to feed and care for.
“Isn’t it dangerous to stay here? Has no one come out to look for you?” Hunter knows it’s an uncomfortable question to ask, but it must be done. “Where are your parents, child?”
His heart is moved by your answer:
“I don’t know about them. I know my mother died when giving me birth, but my father must’ve died during the clone wars. It’s all I’ve been told.”
“We can’t leave a girl like her alone in a place like this”, Wrecker protests.
And Hunter is forced to agree. As much as he knows little to nothing in regards to children, the world out there is too dangerous for a girl like you to live.
However, to take you with them? A perspective like this is hardly helpful when it comes to preserve your childish innocence. Nonetheless, is there other option for you?
You seem to know the reason why Hunter hesitates. So you endorse Wrecker’s protests with your pledges—as if Hunter needs it.
“Can I come with you, Sir? I have little to hold me here.”
“But, lass, it’s very dangerous for you up there…”
“Not less dangerous than here.” You argue him calmly.
Hunter sighs, he knows it’s true. It’s better for you to be surrounded by a group who can protect you than leave you at yourself.
“Fine. How should I call you, kid?”
You smiled excitedly. Finally, you are going to leave that planet!
“Y/N, Hunter.”
You soon follow them and are introduced to other members of the Bad Batch, also known as Force Clone Order 99. Those are: grumpy Crosshair, the very intelligent Tech, the most recent member Echo and finally Omega.
“You were meant to find a new piece for the ship and you come with a child?!” Crosshair exclaims, displeased.
“She’s an orphan. She can’t be left alone in a place like this”, Hunter explains. “Besides, Mrs Joyce disappeared. A bad sign it is, if you ask me.”
“We should try find about her whereabouts”, suggests Wrecker. “Isn’t what we always do? Not to mention, we might just explode things that stand in our way.”
You chuckle at his way of speaking. Hunter, however, hesitates. It’s out of their league to go out in space in missions where they might not get paid enough credits for that. All the while Tech exposes his view about it, you sneak into the ship, exploring it. You’ve never ever been into one before so your eyes go wide.
“Hey, kid!” You turn your head and it’s the grumpy Crosshair who address you word. “Don’t mess with anything!”
“I was just looking”, you defend yourself.
“Let her be, Crosshair”, Omega intervenes.
Hunter comes right where you are and says:
“You know something, kid? We are going to look for your aunt.”
And that is about to be your first mission on the space.
***
You’ve never seen space before as it is. As you contemplate the vast planets, the different shades of stars and how bright and deep is the universe, you are all impressed.
The vision of innocence captures the heart of the men. Hunter comes to you and he smiles as you, sitting in the co-cap seat, are all mesmerized by the infinite universe that comes before your eyes.
“I guess you never saw it, uh, Y/N?”
“No. It’s my very first time here. It’s amazing!” Then you turn at him. “Where are we going?”
“We are heading to the Planet Y/C, where we have to give this piece of trash we purchased here and after that we are expected in Tatooine.” Hunter tells you. “But don’t go in trouble, all right? It’s dangerous out there.”
You nod eagerly. You promise him that you will be quiet. You just don’t say nothing more because you are too entertained with the enormity of the galaxy. Sparkling lights in different colors give another shade of the universe, whose planets seem so unreal to you.
“What can you tell me about these planets?”
It’s when Tech comes to you, more than happy to put his knowledge to use. You are actually listening to every planet he lists, giving you the characteristics of each that’s recorded in the system.
All the while Wrecker and Omega stare at the both of you, baffled.
“She’s actually listening”, says Wrecker, amazed.
“She likes the thing”, Hunter shrugs his shoulders. “Shouldn’t be surprising.”
Crosshair stares at you. Something about you makes him feel strange and his hand slips to the blaster that rests in his side. Something about you makes him remember the order 66.
Could you actually be a Jedi? Crosshair does not know. The uncertainty is what stops him for turning a good day into a disastrous one.
***
Obi-Wan’s POV.
How weird it is to be inflicted by this strange pain that continuously to hurt him in these eight years. He used to credit it to all the hell he’d been into since he lost Anakin, but when landing like the ghost he is now in Coruscant, his instincts tell him otherwise.
As he decides to look for her, Obi-Wan wonders why it’d take years for Ash to reach out for him. Thinking this is the reason why he’s brought there, to the ruins of what once was, his numb heart is about to bleed when, amidst the ruins, he finds out that the love of his life died.
There’s a monument dedicated to such a sweet woman, the Jedi whose heart had never been corrupted by greed, arrogance, pride or vanity. Obi-Wan falls onto his knees when seeing her tomb in dust.
Time may erase your existence, but not from my heart, my beloved.
A sob breaks the astounding silence that surrounds him. He’s lost so much. Obi-Wan’s spirit is bent by pain, broken by the losses of friends and family. She was his family as well as Anakin.
Another sob comes when realizing that. Must duty be the death of love? Obi-Wan has never been so fragile as he is now. He looks up at the monument one more time. It hardly makes justice to her beauty, to the joy that once habited in her eyes.
But what’s the point of grieving? He stands, his face wet in salty tears. He’s alone.
No. The Force is with me and I am with the Force.
It gives him some consolation. He promises silently to make justice for her. As he stands, however, Obi-Wan is surprised by a voice that tells him the following:
“The Jedis have not been relinquished to the past. Search in your heart and you will know.”
A shiver takes over him. Obi-Wan furrows his eyebrows.
“What does that mean?”
Another voice speaks:
“Search in Tatooine and the truth you shall find.”
At first, Obi-Wan thinks it’s about Padmé and Anakin’s children: the twins have been separated for their security and he knows that Luke is there in Tatooine.
But barely he knows how wrong he is to think that the boy is the reason why the Force is leading him there…
***
Your POV.
It’s in Tatooine where your problems begin. You have been with the Bad Batch for a while now, going into adventures in that planet before heading to that sand planet which you are not very fond of. But it’s there that the Force finally flows with you.
The proof of it is when your friends are in trouble and your desperation is the reason why you manage to destroy the droid that had been giving your group a great headache.
Where others are in bewilderment for your new powers, Crosshair is not.
“How did you do that, little one?” He asks you, seriously.
“I don’t know.” You tell him as if it’s no big deal. “What I know is that I’m happy you are saved.”
“No.” Crosshair says in a dangerous tone. “That’s not it.”
“Come on Crosshair, quit with this shit. She was maybe lucky”, Wrecker interferes because he’s not enjoying how much he’s been treating you. “She’s just a kid. Why are you using this tone with her?”
“Because I think she’s a Jedi.” It’s when he takes his weapon. “And the Jedis should have been destroyed.”
Oh.
“Crosshair, what are you saying? I am not a Jedi!” You shake under the words that reach you. “I was never told I am Jedi. I’m just an orphan!”
Hunter interferes too.
“She’s just a kid, Crosshair. Come on, leave it be.”
Tech and the others try to stop him, but next thing everyone sees is that you are almost shot by Crosshair’s blaster. You are so horrified by this, how could a friend do this to you? There’s little option than running. You don’t think, you just do it.
“Y/N! Don’t do that!”
You can’t tell which of the Bad Batch tells you, but you can sense the blaster so all you do is run. You try not to weep. You try not to think you are by yourself.
All you do is run. And run. And run. And run as fast as you can, climbing here and there, falling on the sand. You stand, despaired. Your brain begins to process the betrayal of those you thought to be your friends.
You want your mother, but she’s dead. You want your aunt, but she might be just as dead. It’s when you come to realize you are alone and about to be killed when you…
…bump into someone.
“AH!” You yell. “Please don’t kill me! Please don’t kill me!”
You try to stand, your heart beating fast. The adult male to whom you bumped into is ginger and with a face marked by sadness. Dressed in strange robes, he looks at you rather puzzled. You don’t care about this as long as he doesn’t kill you.
Fears paralyzes you and you weep uncontrollably.
“Hey, now. I am not going to hurt you.” He goes on one knee to match your height. “Come now, little one. Everything will be fine. You don’t need to fear me.”
You sob, your little frame is still shaking. You cover your face with your hands and little by little you give that man a look.
“How can I trust in you?”
You ask that despite knowing you can. But you have to be sure.
“I suppose that’s a good question.” His small smile is so full of sadness that you cannot help but pity him. “Who are you running from? I think I may help you.”
It’s when you burst into tears again.
“I am alone! I thought they were my friends! But he wanted to shoot me dead because…” it is difficult to speak all the while you sob. “Because he claims I am a…”
You cannot speak the word. The ginger male looks at you with sudden interest.
“What’s your name, little one?”
“Y/N.” You say amidst sobs.
The man takes a seat next to you. He makes sure the two of you are not seen. His eyes linger at your frame with curiosity.
“Can you tell me more about yourself?”
You give him a glance so full of hurt that his heart seems to break.
“Why would you care about that?”
“Now now, anger is not the…” he interrupts himself. “Anger is never the best way to deal with things, little one. I understand you’ve been hurt but, believe me, if angry fixed our problems, we wouldn’t be here, would we?”
He has something familiar to you as you to him, but neither are very sure. Nonetheless, you take a seat next to him and begin to calm yourself.
“I just… I don’t know. I thought we were a family.” You sob again. “I’ve never had a family.”
The man furrows his eyebrows. His gaze never leaves you. It seems as if he’s getting piece by piece.
“What do you mean by that, Y/N? Do you have no parents? Don’t they know you are here? You don’t strike me as one born in Tatooine.”
You look at him. He has to fight the urge to clean your face and wipe the tears of his eyes. But why should he do that? And then you shrug.
“I don’t know. You didn’t tell me your name, though.”
“Wise kid”, the ginger smiles, one for the first time with no sadness in it. “You may call me… Ben.”
You tilt your head.
“Ben.” You repeat. “Well, Ben, I don’t know anything about my parents. My aunt told me they died in the clone wars.”
Ben furrows his eyebrows, looking thoughtful. He is about to say something on the matter when you hear the sound of the voice of Crosshair.
“I have to go.” You don’t wait for him to do something about it. “They are close and I can’t be caught. Be careful, Ben.”
And so you run as fast as you could, leaving that friendly man behind as you do.
***
Obi-Wan’s POV.
He’s shocked. Perplexed to say the least. Obi-Wan cannot ignore what’s in his heart. The moment the two of you bumped… The color of your eyes that reminds him of her, and the color of your hair that is the same shade of his.
But can he be sure about this? Perhaps he’s been too lonely. He’s been caught up in the old days where he and Ash had one day dreamed about having a family together after the war comes to an end.
Which it never did.
The tears in your eyes, the suffering in your heart. He was so astonished to see you and the pain that brought a heavily disillusionment upon you that he could not think straight away.
No child deserves to have a heart broken in such a tender age.
Specially one who, by all accounts, had no family. The moment, however, he sees panic in your eyes is the very one where Obi-Wan feels an urge to protect you. He wants to earn your trust, but you slip from his fingertips and his heart aches because the truth comes too late.
You are his daughter, after all.
Obi-Wan has little time to dwell on the matter. He needs to rescue you. He sees strange troops marching after you—is that the Bad Batch?!—-arguing with each other. As far as he understands, there’s not a common agreement about one of their members coming after you.
Obi-Wan doesn’t like this. He doesn’t like this at all. He cannot waste his time trying to figure out why the Bad Batch is disagreeing itself or how come they seem disassociated from Order 66. Not when he can clearly comprehend that one of their members is after you because you are a Jedi. It’s what you tried to tell him, but your emotions naturally prevented you from doing so because you were scared.
Oh, little one.
Obi-Wan feels his heart weight down his chest, astonished when truth is perceptive crystal clear. Right before his eyes.
However, to amend his mistake he needs to check his emotions. Eyes are closed and Obi-Wan needs to concentrate.
Where are you, my child? Where are you hiding?
He sees through the Force you running as fast as you could, tumbling and somehow using the sand to hid you, a trick that surprises Obi-Wan. He could tell the Force is really strong in you. Uh-oh. He’s seen this movie before.
However, you are his daughter. You’ve grown without a mother and without him—not willingly so because Obi-Wan never knew Ash was carrying his child. Of course, he cannot blame her because of the war—forcing them to follow different paths.
It’s not the time to dwell in atonement, however. Neither to let the conscience torment himself. Once Obi-Wan knows where you are, he follows right after you. He’d not let the Order 66 take you away from him.
***
Your POV.
Eventually you manage to find a place to hide yourself. It’s when, to your surprise, it starts to rain. For now the cave is enough. You sit down and place the hood of your old cape to hide your face. You shake.
You are tired of crying. You hug your knees and stay silent. The rain surely would keep your chaser occupied or at least delay. You begin to fall asleep when you hear steps.
You stand. To your horror, you are found out. Crosshair is right before you.
“Order 66: execute all Jedis. Good soldiers follow orders.”
“Why? Crosshair, please don’t!”
He points the blaster to you and you embrace yourself. You close your eyes, scared. Any moment now you’ll cease to exist. You barely have time to count: the sound of the arm is heard but to your surprise it doesn’t hit you.
That old man you came across that day, Ben, is the one who shot Crosshair. How you wish things wouldn’t end up that way, even though you are mostly thankful for being saved.
“Y/N!” Ben runs to you as you run to him in tears. “Y/N! Are you okay? How are you feeling? I’m so sorry for letting this happen to you…”
He weeps too. There are many things in your mind right now, so many questions, but all you do is hug him tight for a strange reason. He is more than a savior, it’s all you know.
Finally, he reluctantly lets go of you. His eyes are searching for yours and there’s a smile on his face.
“You remind me so much of her…” You watch him confused as he wipes a tear away from his eyes. “We need to talk, my dear child. I… I… I don’t know where to begin.”
But for you it all starts to make sense now. Your face brightens up all of a sudden.
“Are you my father, Ben?”
You don’t want to get yourself disappointed, but the innocence in you comes so naturally that you can’t help yourself.
“Yes, my dear girl. I am your father”, Obi-Wan tells you and once more he involves you in a tender embrace. His voice is marked by tears when he says:
“I’ve never meant to stay away from you all these years. Or from your mother. I wasn’t even aware she was carrying such a precious child in her belly. I know my words might not mean anything to you, but, Maker, I can’t afford to lose you right now.”
You are somewhat surprised by his overwhealming speech. But also sensibly moved by it, you find yourself blinded by tears. It feels like the rain outside reflects them. Yet, because you wanted a family so much to call your own, you don’t feel any need to feed hard feelings. In the innocence that’s so spontaneous in you, part of who you are, you become the light in Ben’s world.
Besides, you could tell he’s been under great misery as much as you. So hesitantly as your gesture might come to be, you press a soft kiss on top of his forehead.
“I forgive you, daddy.” The word is strange to you, but sounds so warming in your ears that makes you smile. As Obi-Wan raises his eyes to look at you, his smile mirrors yours. “Just never leave me again, okay?”
“I swear, I’ll always tend you, my precious child.” He plants tons of kisses around your chubby face which makes you giggle.
Later that day, as both of you wait for the storm to come, he tells you the stories about your mother. Obi-Wan might embellish some particularities of how he and your mother fell in love, but you don’t mind.
Eventually, you fall asleep in his arms and he watches over you. He does not wish to miss any opportunity of looking over you. In fact, when seeing you dream about him and your mother, Obi-Wan feels a tear roll down his cheek.
***
Epilogue.
“What? The legendary Master Kenobi is your father?!” Wrecker exclaims, which makes you laugh.
“Very legendary”, you answer proudly, notwithstanding the fact your father shakes his head, denying every bit of that adjective. “Yes, I’m his daughter. I’m sorry, my friend, but I can’t keep up with you on this journey.”
“Of course not, my daughter. You’re not even ten! By the maker, how would you follow these men around space?” Obi-Wan then turns at Hunter, who’s clearly struggling not to laugh. “I pray that you haven’t given her a blaster.”
“No, sir. What kind of soldier do you take me for?” He pretends to be offended. “We were looking after her, though. I do sincerely apologize for Crosshair. I’ve never thought he’d come this way…”
Obi-Wan presses a hand over his shoulder and gives the man a small smile.
“Difficult times lies ahead of us. It’s a miracle that you and your troop haven’t been corrupted by that order at all.” His eyes go back to his daughter, how charming you are when talking to the men who compose the Bad Batch. Such an amusing scene to watch.
“Thank you for looking after Y/N. I appreciate it. I sense that our paths might cross anytime soon.”
Hunter nods.
“She’s a good kid, sir. You are very lucky to be her father.”
“Indeed.” Obi-Wan smiles. “Indeed so.”
Once you and your father part ways with the Bad Batch, Obi-Wan is told about your small adventures with the good clones. He smiles as you are chatty, and more than ever the former Jedi is pleased for such trait because he does like to listen to what have you been doing all these years.
“So where are we going?” You ask him. “Are you going to train me as a Jedi too?”
Obi-Wan sighs. The question he fears the most is finally posed. As he looks down on you, he is reluctant. But to deny the Force on you would be an unwise move.
“Not yet”, he tells you. “Instead we are going to meet an old friend of your papa.”
He then lifts you because Obi-Wan wants to spoil you. As you take a seat over his shoulders, you beam all the way. It’s a new adventure for you, one that gives you joy.
Your presence irradiates light anywhere you go, which brightens the heavy heart that’s turned into an undesirable burden for Obi-Wan. Until he makes it to their destination, he takes every opportunity to get to know you better so that way you two bond.
It’s when you get to the house where a man named Owen greets the two of you. In the meantime he speaks with your father, you manage to encounter a boy named Luke Skywalker.
As Obi-Wan is about to introduce you as his daughter to Owen, he’s surprised to see you and Luke talking.
“Oh.” He says. “I have a bad feeling about this…”

ROYALTY | Din Djarin x Kenobi/Kryze!Reader
Tumblr media
Request: Could you do a din djarin x reader story? It would be cool if it involved reader being the daughter of Obi-wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze!
and: Hey, girl!!! For your 1k celebration could you do a din djarin and satine kryze daughter reader pairing? I saw that someone went around asking multiple people for something similar to this. I had already been thinking of this for awhile, but I understand if you don’t want to do it now because of that. Still love your writing either way, thanks!
and: Hi! I’m so happy your doing your 1k event! I know your fanfic is similar to this prompt but could you do something shorter about din djarin x former padawan reader? Sorry if that’s not enough to go off of, I’m not very creative. Thanks, girl!

It was supposed to be simple. A common thief, Karga had said when he’d handed him the puck, a little urchin had slipped her hands in too many officers' pockets for them to let her off easy. Whether Mando killed her or not was up to him, but she’d ran such amuck in the streets of Canto Bight with trick cards that a higher bidder had asked for her body stuck in cryo.
He seemed indifferent to take on a thief for a little deck tricking, feeling as if he were almost better than ruining someone's life for the sake of a victimless crime. What was the worst that came of it? A gambler liquored off his head lost more than he should have wagered away in the first place? But things were slow now Karga and Dune had cleared up Nevarro, and he needed the money, the kid needed new clothes, that little potato sack he was in did nothing for him.
The picture had been classified though, he should have known something was wrong from that point. The red lights should have been blaring right from the beginning.
Because the last thing he’d expected when he’d tracked her location was the sheen of Beskar staring back at him.
You’d caught sight of him immediately, despite him being as stealthy as he usually was on these missions. He remembered freezing in his silent tracks, the way you had clocked his position within seconds of him getting close. It hadn’t been difficult, why would it? Not when you’re a trained force user as yourself, not when you hear a constant stream of voices, those from around you, hearing their every thought so clearly as if it were your own.
You used to complain to your father of how loud your head got, but now time had finely tuned your skills, they gave you peace. Calming like white noise.
You could imagine the surprise to hear thoughts nearby, a man’s you quickly deduced, your name blaring in the forefront of his mind. His heartbeat grew in volume by the second when your torso cocked in his direction, the thrumming of it stopping for a moment as you caught sight of him.
“I suggest you be smart about this, Mando, and leave the way you came. I have no interest in sending Karga another body,” You called, head tilting beneath the helm, as he stepped out of the shadows, blade in hand.
“You sound confident,” He said back, biding his time as he weighed up his chances, “You had problems with the guild before?”
He cursed Karga under his breath for leaving out the very crucial information that the bounty was in fact one of his own people, and ofcourse, a trained killer herself.
“Only the ones stupid enough to try it,” You snapped, circling him as he stepped closer, though his body followed your movements to every millimetre, “Are you stupid, or will I need to send Greef another message about tracking me?”
It was then, as you saw the way his fist enclosed tighter around the blade that you reached for your own weapon. Usually the ones dumb enough to even attempt claiming their bounty were scared off by your sabre alone, the others met their own fate not too long after. You just hoped he would fall into the first category.
The electric crackled in the air as you flicked the ignition, a cobalt blue lighting up the small alleyway he had found you in, and you saw him freeze with hesitation.
Turn around. Turn around, and walk away. You put the thoughts in his head, as if whispering like a siren in his ear, and you prayed it was enough to stop any bloodshed before it started.
But this man, whether or not he knew it, had strong mental shields. By the way he shuddered, he had heard your commands clearly, but they had no affect on him other than that.
“Your one of those- jedi,” He hissed, pointing at you with his blade, his knuckles tightening on the hilt, something more than fear in his voice. Fury, you felt it rolling off him, the taste of it sour in your mouth, “You dare wear my people’s armour when you are from an enemy race? Who did you get it from?”
“Your people?” You scoffed, tugging the helm over your face to reveal a royally pissed expression as you took in his frozen figure, “Do you have any idea who I am?”
Maker, you were beautiful. It rubbed salt in the would that you looked so ethereal when he felt the dishonor thrumming in his veins that you had disgraced his peoples armour. He wore his with pride, you paraded it around as a trophy, most likely from the Mandalorian you’d killed to get it.
He felt his lip curve into a sneer as he lunged for you, the long blade barely swiping your neck as you dodged out of the way of his advance, chucking your helmet to the side with little thought on its wear. It was Beskar, a little bump to the pavement would barely touch it.
“Jedi are sorcerers, they are our enemies. Who did you get this from?” Din seethed, his arm coming up to shield his face as you cut through the air, the lightsabre thrumming with resistance as it met his armour.
There was abit of huffing between the two of you as you pushed against one another, the blue light illuminating your furious expression as he glared at your behind his mask.
“I got this armour on my first life day on Mandalore, as a gift from my mother, the Queen,” You snapped, your hand raising towards his chest and sending a wave of force towards him. Din stumbled back, the energy tame in comparison to the pain you could have inflicted on him, falling on his ass as his expression crumpled into confusion. You stood over him with a scowl, eyes narrowing where he struggled to catch his breath, clearly never having felt the force used against him before, “I inherited my powers from my father, the Jedi sworn to protect her and my people, before my home planet was destroyed by Sith,” You snapped, waiting to see if he was ready to lunge for you again, or if he would like to be flung around like a ragdoll some more.
When he didn’t move, his chest rising and falling as he looked up at you, no ounce of lie in your tone, you flicked your sabre off and sheathed it. Then you surprised him even more, if that had even been possible. You extended your hand out to him, offering a lift up from where he was crouched, stunned, speechless as he took your domineering stature in.
“Next time I expect you to have a bit more respect for your Princess, Mando,”

A Padawan's Confession
Pairings: Obi-Wan x padawan!reader
Warnings/Tags: drama, hurt/comfort, age difference, no (further) romantic interaction
Summary: G/N reader! You and your master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, rest by a campfire overnight during a mission. As your thoughts get heavier each second he senses your trouble and you take the opportunity to announce your decision to leave the order. Because feelings far beyond the boundaries of the Jedi slowly turn you insane as your heart craves for the man who's both the furthest and closest to you....
Words: 1.7k
A/n: This short story is inspired by a one shot I've written many years ago. I hope you like it! Also English isn't my first language so there might be spelling and grammar mistakes in this story!
~~~~~~
The quiet camp fire marked tonight's resting place from your stressful mission. You and your master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, sat on broken trunks, your cloaks pulled around you tightly to keep the warmth of the fire around your bodies. But as quiet as the night seemed to be, your mind was the exact opposite. Hundreds of thoughts raced around and kept your pulse high and your tension at a maximum. It was at the time you eventually should be honest with your master and talk to him about your decision to leave the order. Your thoughts have been resolving around this topic for months now and with each day passing you felt more certain to pervade your decision, as the pressure and pain got worse and became almost unbearable.
While you tried to think about the best way to tell him, your master sensed your inner tension. "You seem troubled, Y/N," he observed. "Is there something you'd like to talk about?"
You hesitated for a brief moment before you nodded. "Yes. Kinda..."
"What's wrong?" Obi-Wan asked, his neutral facial expression slowly turning into concern. He didn't want you to feel bad. He in fact despised it when you were sad or troubled and that is why he always wanted to be there for you, support you and help you through bad times. Of course it was also his responsibility to care for you but through all the year's you've been his Padawan you grew to be so much more for him, something similar to the daughter he never had. And that is a fact he never actually said out loud but it was a silent truth between the both of you.
You let out a deep sigh but it didn't release any of the heavy pressure pushing down on you. To leave the order was a life-changing decision that couldn't be undone. It could be a big mistake—or the best decision you'll ever make. But after all it hurt a lot to even think about saying goodbye.
"I-" you started but a heavy lump in your throat interrupted you. "I can no longer do this." You automatically lowered your voice and turned your face towards the darkness behind the trees to avoid his glance. You felt tears form in your eyes, so you closed your lids and held your breath. There was almost nothing else as awkward as crying in front of your master, a Jedi in accordance with the code. 'There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force,' you quoted in your mind realizing you've broken at least half of the five key principles. What a shame it would be if you'd shown your master how much you were guided by your emotions. "I'm sorry master," you said.
Obi-Wan frowned in both confusion and concern. "You're sorry? For what? What is it you can no longer do?" he asked with a calm voice. He was trying hard to hide how much he worried about you right now.
"All of this," you replied. "I made the decision to leave the Jedi order." Out of a sudden, relief flooded your veins as the heavy weight of those words left your soul with every syllable spoken.
Obi-Wan paused. He didn't even realize he forgot to beathe while the shock of your announcement washed over him. "Y/N," he finally managed to press through his lips. "Leaving the Jedi order is a significant decision."
"I know," you replied.
"May I ask why you've come to this conclusion?"
You hesitated. It made you uncomfortable to talk about the reasons. Then again, informing him was the least you could do. You still didn't manage to make eye contact. "I've broken the Jedi principles. Or, to put it better, it gets harder for me to follow them everyday. I can't no longer distract myself from my emotions and act as if I don't feel any affection. My mind starts to think in ways the doctrines of the Jedi dismiss and I'm afraid I'll and up in demise." The tears lingering in your eyes got more but you still managed to hold them back. It was obvious that your master could feel the bunch of emotions cracking through all of these walls you've built up since the beginning of your training. But there was one you could still hide. One particular emotion you hid so well from the outside and the force sensing abilities of the Jedi that you were sure, no matter how many your master could sense, that one particular emotion wasn't one of them.
"Affection, you say?" Your master responded and you nodded. "May I ask what kind of affection troubles you?"
You wish you could say that it was only a deep friendship that guided you to paths different from the force. But it was more. Something way deeper. "It's love," you said.
"Love," Obi-Wan repeated. As he turned his gaze towards the camp fire, you dared to look at him. He was obviously lost in thought. Maybe he was searching for the best response or he was thinking about you, wondering who the person might be that made you struggle this hard you considered to leave the order. "The Force guides us all on unique journeys," he then said. "And there are many that aren't consistent with the Jedi ways. You're correct, affection—especially love—is a bond that leads you on a path in-between dark and light. What could be a strength might at the same time become a weakness. Where love blooms, passion lingers. And where passion lingers, darkness awaits."
You listened to his words. It was the same doctrine you had internalized for years but the way your master chose his words made it sound different this time. You suspected that he hasn't finished his monologue yet so you stood quite, examining his side profile while his attention seemed to be caught be the dancing flames. He in fact hasn't finished yet. "As you should know I won't judge you. It's not your decision if you fall for someone. It's your decision how you deal with it. And if your feelings affect you in a way they could harm you and the Jedi order this might no longer be your journey. So don't be ashamed."
You took a deep breath and turned your gaze to the fire as well. "Thank you," you said and a tear finally released itself from your strong hold and rolled down your cheek.
"For what?"
"For your understanding."
Your master chuckled. "Let me tell you a secret. When I was your age I've been in love as well. Twice. So I know your struggle. But it was my decision to lock those feelings up and stay in the order."
You blinked in shock. Your master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has once been in love? Well, that was something you would've never expected. But at least he's managed to keep his mind straight. And with that thought you replied: "I don't think I'll ever be able to do the same. It's so hard and the person I'm into is almost always around me." You hesitated, afraid you've said too much. But in the end, it wouldn't matter what you've said the day you announced your decision.
Obi-Wan turned his head to look at you. His blue eyes shimmered in the light of the dancing fire that made his gaze seem even warmer than it already was. "Is it your friend Anakin?" he asked in curiosity and you took a deep breath before you shook your head.
"No. It's not Anakin." And with the words spoken out loud you've finally let the last of all the walls you've built to hide your emotions break into pieces. A warm wave of the force rushed over both of you and the campfire, making it dance uncontrollably fast for a brief moment. You noticed Obi-Wan shift but couldn't certainly say what exactly changed as you allowed him to find out about your feelings for him. Your cheeks immediately turned red and you felt shame rush over you. The emotion behind that wall was the exact reason you wanted to leave. Love for your master, the one who would—and should—never return your feelings. The one who was supposed to care for you, to train you, and who played great value on the Jedi principles. He wasn't even just your master, he was a Jedi master and a member of the high council as well.
Obi-Wan didn't turn his gaze away, his blue eyes now filled with a harsh realization.
Another tear ran down your cheek but you tried your hardest to not look away and keep the eye contact. In the perfect world of your fantasy Obi-Wan would've leaned towards you and captured your lips in a passionate kiss. But this wasn't your fantasy, it was reality. And in reality all he did was sit right in front of you, obviously shocked and speechless—but at the same time comprehending many details of your (probably strange) behaviour in the past. Your stares, the way you laughed particularly often in his presence, you distancing yourself from him after you made a mistake... The ways you've tried to impress him when fighting in battles....
"I'm sorry, Y/N", Obi-Wan finally said with a low voice. He was obviously still speechless.
"I know," you replied with a cracking voice. You still watched his face, his expression, the small wrinkles on his skin that were a subtile proof for the big age difference between you and him. You studied his blue eyes that still kept all of the warmth he's met you with during this conversation. His beard, the neatly cut hair... You tried m to memorize his face as best as you could because soon you'd never see it again....
You shook your head. "No. Please don't say that as if it was your fault. It's mine. And I'm gonna leave as soon as our mission's over."
"It is your decision how you want to spend your life. But I can't offer you what you want."
"I know," you replied with a cracking voice. You still watched his face, his expression, the small wrinkles on his skin that were a subtile proof for the big age difference between you and him. You studied his blue eyes that still kept all of the warmth he's met you with during this conversation. His beard, the neatly cut hair... Everything inside of you screamed for his affection, his love, his heart. You wanted him to touch you, pull you to his chest and kiss you gently. Obi-Wan was everything you've ever wanted and the one thing you'll never get. So you tried to memorize his face as best as you could because soon you'll never see it again....
Summary: You never thought you'd see him again. Yet there he was.
Characters: Obi-Wan x gn!reader
Word Count: 1.4k
Warnings: SPOILERS for Kenobi (2022). Reunion fluff. If folks want more of this, let me know...
You had been helping clean up the dishwasher droids when Queen Breha Organa had poked her head in the kitchens. All of you scampered to attention, and she chuckled, waving her hand and telling all the staff to relax.
“No reason to be so flustered, everyone,” she smiled kindly. “Y/N, could we see you for a moment?”
You blinked in surprise, before dropping your oil-stained cloth and apron on your chair and following the Queen from the kitchens.
She walked briskly down the hallway and you hurried to keep up, curious as to what was going on. You had been employed with the Organas for a decade now, had served and cleaned in every nook and cranny of their estate, and had become fast friends with their young daughter, whom you had tutored, cared for, and babysat multiple times.
Breha led you to her personal chambers where a clean, quite fancy-looking outfit was laid out over the bed, with added accessories and shoes even.
“Right then,” she said, clapping her hands. “This is yours. I think the sizing is fine, we based it around your uniform size so it should fit. If you could be ready and be at the doors of the landing platform in about half an hour, that would be fantastic. Just stay inside and wait until you’re told otherwise.”
“My lady?”
“And,” she brushed an oil spot off the side of your cheek. “Do tell me if the kitchen duties are boring you. You know we’d employ you to do anything you’d like around here. After everything you’ve done, it’s the least we could do.”
“Oh, thank you my lady, but there’s help needed in the kitchens, so I really don’t mind cleaning at the moment.”
“Very well,” she sighed, stepping away. “Half an hour, please. Don’t be late.”
“My lady?” you interjected again before she headed out the door. “Is there something going on?”
Breha smiled again, with a strange twinkle in her eyes. “Nothing to worry, dear. Just a surprise.”
-
“We can never repay you.”
“Well, she has already done that,” Obi-Wan sighed, looking over his shoulder at little Leia, giddily playing with Lola. Bail had a wry smile on his face as he followed his gaze to his adoptive daughter,
“I fear for her future, Obi-Wan,” he said. “The empire grows stronger and bolder. Not many can be trusted, and those we did trust… some are disappearing as we speak.”
“Well, if you ever need my help again, you know where to find me.” Obi-Wan clapped Bail on the shoulder. “I won’t be disappearing like that again.”
He turned to Breha, and grasped her hand. “Farewell, my lady.”
He pulled away, but Breha was still holding his hand. He looked up at her, and could sense she was holding something back.
“But before you go,” Breha interjected, shifting her eyes to glance at Bail. “Why not stay for dinner?”
Obi-Wan frowned, incredulity written all over his face. “Dinner? At a time like this?”
“Well, there’s lots to catch up on, isn’t there?”
“I don’t think being in hiding for ten years makes for a pleasant dinner conversation, Lady Breha,” Obi-Wan chuckled dryly. “Besides, it wouldn’t be safe.”
“I think you’ll want to stay for dinner, my friend,” Bail said, a mysterious lilt n his tone. “There’s something… someone for you to see.”
Obi-Wan furrowed his brow, his hand slipping from Breha’s and resting at his lightsaber hilt. “Is it dangerous?”
Bail gave a small smirk and nodded his head towards the entrance at the end of the walkway, where the metal doors slid open.
-
You fiddled with your sleeves, nervous at presenting yourself. You could only imagine some figurehead friend of Bail and Breha wanted to meet you out of all people. Perhaps an old politician friend they thought they could trust from the Old Republic. Maybe Leia wanted her to come for some silly party adventure. Whatever it was, you could take it.
As the doors finally opened, you squinted at the sunlight and looked out to see four figures standing by a small ship. Two were the Organas, one was little Leia, and the fourth…
Obi-Wan felt himself go numb at the sight of you. Still a distance away, but you, alive, and breathing.
He brushed past the Organas without much thought, feet feeling heavy as he thought he was seeing a ghost at first. Perhaps it wasn’t you, perhaps it was a trick of the light, or he really needed sleep. He stopped a few feet in, wind ruffling his hair as he stared.
But then you stepped out onto the walkway in the sunlight, and he saw your familiar beauty and kind eyes light up with disbelief and astoundment. You were wearing simple silver robes – an outfit he’d never seen you in before. Your face was clean, a bit wearier now, but your smile seemed the same. He inhaled sharply as the sun hit you and you suddenly stopped walking, a frown on your face as you looked at him from the distance.
First you thought, no it couldn’t be. Obi-Wan wouldn’t risk appearing like this, surely. What would he be doing here? Your heart was pounding and you felt yourself go numb when you realized, no, it really is him.
Then you broke out into a jog, and then you were sprinting towards him, and then he too began running towards you. Suddenly the only thing that mattered in the whole universe was getting to him, right now.
Your feet hit the stone beneath you as you ran, robes fluttering behind you. Wind rushed past you in a daze. Every second he came closer you couldn’t pry your eyes off him – afraid he’d disappear again.
The gasp of relief as you flung your arms around him sounded like music to his ears. It was hard to think it had been ten years when suddenly it felt like the old days again.
“Obi-Wan,” you breathed, voice breaking already. His arms wrapped around your waist and his own breath was shaky. You held the nape of his neck, caressing through his locks with a tenderness he had missed.
You wanted to breathe him in, remember the touch of his hands, the feeling of his body.
“I never thought I’d see you again,” you muttered into his cloak, eyes watering. “I didn’t know if you were alive… or far away… or…”
You pulled away from him to properly take in the sight of him. He had a rough, rugged beard that was thicker than the last time you saw him, and his hair was straggly and longer with much more greys.
“Oh,” you said softly, hand cupping his face with your eyes tracing the lines along his skin. “Time has not been kind to you, my darling.”
“What a kind way to tell me I’ve aged horribly,” he muttered with a huff of a laugh. His voice had your head swimming in wonderful, soothing molasses. You chuckled. He kept you close to his body, arms securely wrapped around your waist. “You haven’t changed, my dear.”
You threw your head back and scoffed, “it’s been ten years, Obi. Of course I have.”
“Well, to me, you haven’t,” he smiled. Your hand slipped down to rest on his chest, and you felt the throbbing of his heart, fast and nervous. He looked at you with softened, kind eyes, like the eyes that would look at you across from the booth at Dex’s Diner. Like the eyes that glistened when you had that rushed, heartfelt goodbye. Like the eyes that stared at you in the dark of the Jedi Temple when you stole a kiss from him, quickly and sweetly.
“I didn’t know you were on Alderaan,” he muttered. “How long--?”
“Since that day,” you said, looking up at him. The day when everything changed, and everything had gone wrong. “Bail told me he was taking the girl, and suggested I go with him. I had nowhere else to go, not when you…”
“When I told you that you couldn’t come with me and the boy,” his eyes were downcast, shifting away from you with a remorseful voice. “But why didn’t you tell me?”
“How could I? You insisted on the secrecy, and I wanted all of us, you, me, them to be safe. Plus, you were already gone by the time I had made my choice.”
Obi-Wan opened his mouth, desperate to find out more, but then a small girl flung herself around your form and pulled at your robes.
“You know him?!” Leia gasped. You chuckled, returning the hug.
“Yes, Leia. We happen to be very old friends.”
“Emphasis on old,” Obi-Wan added. You shot him a look as Bail and Breha both joined you again, beaming with wide smiles.
“So, old friend,” Bail chuckled. “Now will you stay for dinner?”
Obi-Wan took one glance at you and smiled. “Yes.”
A/N: Back on the star wars bandwagon folks... maybe more to come?? I need to catch up on all my shows 0.0
AND THANK U for the music suggestions so far! Am working on them :3
Once a Mother, Always a Mother
Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader (Platonic)
Leia and Luke Skywalker (Mother!Reader)
Request: Instead of a Jedi, can she have Scarlet Witch’s powers? She was a friend of Padmé and Anakin fell for her when they first met. They still get together, (y/n) used her powers when she saved some young Jedi from Anakin’s genocide? In the end, she still gives birth to Leia, and Luke then got separated. She faked her and their children’s death so that they would be safe. She’s like Wanda from M.o.M with Obi-wan at her side, she wanted to bring her daughter back to a safe place. When Leia first met (y/n) she could immediately see the resemblance but kept it a secret since she could sense that she shouldn’t know about it. They still were able to save Leia and Luke, (y/n) nearly killed Reva when she thought she harmed Luke.
Request sent by: @oyasumimosura - I hope this is what you wanted!! I made some minor changes but I hope you enjoy it :)
A/N: I actually started crying at the end so grab some tissues.
Warnings: Angst and a little bit of gore (if you squint)
“Y/n,” Padme cheered, “I’m so glad you could make it.”
The Senator walked over and gave you a quick hug. You hugged back lightly and smiled softly. You and Padme have been good friends for a while. With your unique powers, you’ve always been an outcast. Padme saw this and took you under her wing. She’s always been your best friend and even, a big sister.
“Hey, you called, said you needed help, I’m here.”
She laughed softly and guided you to the sitting area. You arrived here on Coruscant on the count of someone trying to kill Senator Amidala. She was granted protection with Jedis but she wanted you too.
“The Jedi will be here soon,” Padme explained, “I’ll be talking with Captain Typho.”
Padme walked towards the balcony, overviewing the beautiful city of Coruscant. You, on the other hand, took a seat on one of the nearest couches. You watched as the Gungan, Jar Jar Binks, walked out of the room, towards the elevator.
“Obi? Obi! Mesa so smilen to seein yousa!” You heard Jar Jar yell.
You stood, knowing that the Jedi personnel had arrived. You brushed off the robes you were wearing. You wanted to look professional, even if you weren’t at the Jedi level experience. Sure, you’ve been training at the Temple. But, you had different powers than everyone else. You could use a lightsaber and the Force, but you rather would use your…powers.
“Good to see you again, Jar Jar.”
“Senator Padme! Y/n,” Jar Jar walked in with his two Jedi friends, “Mesa palos here! Lookie, lookie, Senator. Desa Jedi arriven.”
Padme turned around, smiling at the now older Jedi. She hasn’t seen them since the droid's attack on Naboo. She was grateful they had accepted to come back to her aid again, even if she didn’t need protection.
You followed her pursuit, standing next to the Senator.
“It’s a great pleasure to see you again, milady,” the bearded Jedi bowed.
“It has been far too long, Master Kenobi,” Padme shook his head.
Padme looked over the Master’s shoulders to be faced with a surprise.
“Ani? My goodness, you’ve grown.”
You looked to where your dearest friend was looking. It had felt as if your breath was sucked out of your body. That…Ani….he was handsome. He seemed too starstruck over Padme to notice you.
“So have you. Grown more beautiful. I mean. Well, f-for a senator, I mean.”
Padme nodded her head and smiled, “Ani, you’ll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine.”
Ouch, you thought. You knew that would hurt.
Padme turned to look at you, “This is my good friend, Y/n L/n. She has been training at the Temple. She is a wonderful knight.”
The two Jedi turned their attention towards you. You nodded your head at Kenobi and held out your hand.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi. I’ve never heard of you,” the Master added, “who was your Master?”
“I’ve been tossed back and forth,” you explained, shaking his hand.
You held out your hand for the Ani, who was staring at you in awe.
“I’m A-Anakin Skywalker, Master Kenobi’s padawan. As I, have never heard of you and I apologize.”
The Chosen One. You’ve heard stories about the Chosen One and how they would bring balance to the two Forces. You’ve never expected it to be this young, handsome, Padawan.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you,” you smirked, “Anakin.”
You two shared eye contact for a moment and you both knew that this is where the fun would begin.
………………………………………………………………………………………
"And you're sure you'll be safe?" You were worried about Padme going back to Naboo. Sure, Anakin and Captain Typho's crew will be there with her. But, after the bounty hunter almost killed her with estranged worms, you never knew what could happen.
"Yes, Y/n, everything will be alright. I'll be safe while you are with the Jedis. Must I say," Padme looked behind you, "Anakin seems very fond of you."
You turned around to see the Padawan, staring right at you. You gave him a small wave and smiled. He realized he was staring at you and looked at his Master.
"Fond of me? You broke that poor boy's heart when you greeted him and said that 'he'll always be the same boy you met on Tatooine," you laughed.
Padme shared a laugh as well, "Why don't you come with us?"
You pondered on the suggestion. If you went, you could become a closer acquaintance with Anakin. Master Kenobi would be alone, though. You felt bad, for leaving him alone, but you knew he could handle himself.
"What about Master Kenobi?"
"I've already talked to him about it. He said it was okay with him and that you would be the one to keep his Padawan aligned."
You nodded and allowed her to step on the transport. You walked towards Anakin and told him the slight changes. You helped him with Padme's luggage, grabbing onto a small suitcase.
"Knight Y/n, I-"
"Please, just call me Y/n," you looked up at Anakin, smiling.
"Of course, Y/n, but I want to know your story."
You titled your head in confusion, "What about my story?"
You two began walking towards the Senator, who was waiting in the transport.
"Why is it that you've been trained at the Temple, but I've never seen you? When did you come to be a Jedi Knight?"
You shrugged, "It's more complicated than that and it's a very long story."
"Well," Anakin held out his hand for you while getting on the transport, "we have all the time. I'd love to hear it. I-I mean, only if you want to. That's your business and I don't want to-"
"Anakin!" You laughed, interfering with his rambling, "I'd love to share it with you. We have a couple of days to get to know each other."
"Yes," he lowered his head in embarrassment, "of course."
He couldn't help his rambling. His mouth always moved first, while his mind was trailing behind.
"Hey," you noticed his embarrassment, "it's okay. I ramble sometimes too. It's like my mouth-"
"Moves first, right? Then, your brain is a second behind."
You turned your head and faced him, "Yeah, exactly."
The two of you shared a moment of comfort, but then remembered about the Senator. You began walking towards her again, while she smiled sweetly at the two of you. She could tell there would be something between the two of you and she couldn't help but be supportive of you.
..........................................................................................................................
"Goodnight," you brushed your hair off your shoulder, "Padme. I'll be down the hall if anything seems to be a problem."
She nodded, "Don't have too much fun."
You scoffed and shook your head. Leaving the Senator's room, you walked down the Villa's hallway. It was a very beautiful building with delicate architecture. It was accompanied by a lakeside. You walked outside to the terrace. It overviewed the lake. Resting your elbows on the stone railing, you gazed at the stars.
"May I join you?"
Anakin's voice filled the void and you wave your arm towards you, "Of course."
Anakin slowly walked towards you. You quickly glanced over at him. He was in his robes, with no shirt on, and his long brown locks were sticking to his forehead.
"Are you okay?" You asked.
"Hm?" He hummed sleepily, "Oh, yeah. Just bad nightmares."
You nodded your head, understanding what it felt like.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Anakin looked down at you and then back to the view of the lake, "I'd rather not."
You looked back at the stars. You wish you could look at every single one, but you know there are so many more out there. The stars were like stories. Each one had a different story to tell. You loved to gaze upon them. "They're beautiful," you said out loud, in awe.
"Yeah," Anakin agreed, "they are."
What you didn't realize was that Anakin wasn't gazing at the stars. His half-lidded stare was directed towards you. He loved seeing your eyes fill up in awe and your excitement when a star twinkled.
You looked down at your hands and picked at your fingernails, "My connection with the Force, it's one that I can't explain."
"How so?"
You sighed and lifted your palm. A dark red filled your hand. You've never shown anyone this, except for Padme and your Master. You threaded the mystical red around your fingers. You rested your hand back down and looked at Anakin. He was shocked. But, he was awed as well.
"When I was receiving my lightsaber, I needed to connect to a Kyber crystal. I did, and well," you paused, "it turned red. Something that only happens with a Dark Force user. I had and have no intentions of the Dark Side. Alas, the crystal didn't connect to my saber. It connected fully to me. My Master, well, he was shocked. He had never seen anything like it."
"Who's your Master?" Anakin had so many questions but decided to start small.
"Yoda. He kept me a secret, afraid of what the council would think."
You bowed your head in shame, "I've always been shameful of it. I've always been different from the rest. I don't have a lightsaber. I don't have the Force connection as everyone else does. Padme and Master Yoda have been the only people not to be afraid of my powers."
Anakin allowed his thumb to grip your chin, making you look up at him.
"Well, you can add another person to that list. I think...it's really beautiful, Y/n. You shouldn't be ashamed. That's one of the coolest things I have ever kriffing seen!"
You laughed, tearing up. Anakin took notice of this and wrapped his arms around you.
"Did I say something?"
"No," you fell right into his arms, "you said everything perfectly right. I've just never had someone so accepting in my life."
Anakin rested his chin on your head, feeling as if you were the one comforting him from his nightmares.
You fell right into his warmth, feeling a comfort you've never had before. You stayed, wrapped in his arms until he let go.
"You better head to bed," Anakin kept his hands on your shoulders, "I'll be up, watching the Senator."
You raised your hand to rest upon his cheek, "May I try something? It won't hurt. It's for the nightmares."
Anakin hesitated at first but slowly nodded. He leaned into your touch. You lifted your other hand, floating it next to his temple. With the wave of your hand, you slowly let your power connect with his mind. You closed your eyes and saw all the nightmares. Ones about his mom. Ones about the Dark Side. Ones about failing his Master.
Opening your eyes back up, you saw the look of relaxation on Anakin's face. He slowly connected his eyes with your eyes. You let your hand fall on his chest. He let out a shaky breath while leaning forward. You follow his pursuit, leaning in. You met halfway, eyes closed, letting his soft lips connect with yours.
The kiss felt like a missing puzzle piece that's been hiding under a table. The relief to have found the piece flooded your body. You've never felt so alive before.
You slowly let go of the kiss, your eyes still closed. Anakin was smiling. He felt the same way. He felt your power seep throughout his mind, finding all the dark. You filled his mind with light. Something he has been needing for so long.
.......................................................................................................................
Covering your face with a piece of cloth, you blocked off the blowing sand. Anakin's nightmares have been getting worse. The ones you tried to ease just kept coming back. Anakin cried in your arms. The nightmares felt real, and he couldn't rest.
Padme had allowed the two of you to go to Anakin's home planet, Tatooine, to see if his mother was alright. Your heart ached for Anakin.
You walked towards the small dwelling, to be greeted by a droid.
"Oh, uh! Hello! How might I be of service? I am C-"
"3PO?" Anakin finished the droid's sentence.
"Oh, the maker! Oh, Master Ani! I knew you would return. I knew it!" C-3PO looked your way, "I don't believe we have met!"
"I am Y/n L/n. I'm a Jedi Knight, and I-
"She's my partner," Anakin squinted his eyes at 3PO.
"It's lovely to meet your partner, Y/n. Bless my circuits! I'm so pleased to see you again, Anakin."
"I've come to see my mother," Anakin explained.
"Oh. Um, I think perhaps we'd better go indoors," C-3PO guided you to the front door. He walked down the stairs and greeted, "Master Owen, might I present two most important visitors."
"I'm Anakin Skywalker."
The man introduced, "Owen Lars. Uh, this is my girlfriend, Beru."
"Hello," Beru nodded.
"I'm Y/n L/n. Anakin's partner," you smiled at the title. It was much better, and preferred, than Jedi Knight.
"I guess I'm your stepbrother. I had a feeling you might show up someday."
Anakin backed up and looked around, "Is my mother here?"
"No, she's not," a new voice sounded and a man in a wheelchair appeared, "Cliegg Lars. Shmi is my wife."
Anakin shook his hand.
"We should go inside. We have a lot to talk about."
You, Beru, Owen, and Anakin followed Cliegg into a small dining room. Beru fetched a pitcher of tea, while the rest of you sat down.
"It was just before dawn. They came out of nowhere. A hunting party of Tusken Raiders. Your mother had gone out early, like she always did, to pick mushrooms that grow on the vaporators. From the tracks, she was about halfway home when they took her, " Cliegg sighed.
You watched as Anakin looked down. You rested your hand on his knee, getting no reaction from him.
"Those Tuskens walk like men, but they're vicious, mindless monsters. Thirty of us went out after her. Four of us come back. I'd be out there with them, but after I lost my leg, I just couldn't ride anymore un-until I heal."
Anakin nodded, while still looking down. You knew he was trying to be strong, but you also knew that he was a human too. He was trying to hide his emotions. All you wanted to do was say, "It's okay," but you didn't even know that it was going to be.
"I don't want to give up on her, but she's been gone a month. There's little hope she's lasted this long."
Anakin stood abruptly, swallowing his tears.
"Where are you going?" Owen asked.
"To find my mother," the Padawan answered coldly.
"Your mother's dead, son. Accept it," Cliegg argued.
Anakin walked out of the room, needing to catch some air. He knew his mother was still alive. She had to be. If she wasn't, why was he still getting nightmares?
You followed him, thanking the Lars family, and walked outside. He was wrapped in his dark cloak, staring at the two suns. He felt your presence and turned around. You stopped in front of him.
"You're gonna have to stay here. These are good people, Y/n. You'll be safe," he suggested.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, letting him fall into your comfort, "Anakin."
He wrapped his long arms around your torso. His cloak fell around you and breathed in his comforting scent.
"I'm coming with you, I can help."
Anakin backed out of the hug and sighed, "I don't want you getting hurt."
"I can take care of myself."
His shoulders fell in defeat and lead you to his speeder. You sat on the back, wrapping your arms around the young Skywalker. He started the speeder up and you were off to find Shmi Skywalker.
.......................................................................................................................
Anakin wanted you to stay back to keep watch. So you could warn him. You kept watching the tent he had entered. Suddenly, you felt your heart shatter. Oh no, you thought. You felt Anakin's heartbreak from across the land. But, then you felt anger. Revenge. Pain. Suffering. Death.
You watched as Anakin killed the two Tuskens, while the others surrounded him. You saw a look in his eyes that terrified you. It was an anger that you have never seen in somebody before. You used your powers to float down, helping Anakin to stop.
"Anakin!" You shouted, allowing some Raiders to pay attention to you.
You quickly sent them all into a daze with your power, letting them be stuck in their own mind. You ran towards Anakin, who was breathing heavily. He had just slain the last standing Raider. The thing that scared you was that he had no remorse.
"Anakin," you breathed, resting your hand upon your shoulder.
His head snapped towards you. His eyes were dark with rage. They softened when he saw you and your warm eyes. He diminished his lightsaber and looked around. His mouth dropped in shock.
"I-I don't, I killed them, my mom-"
You waved your hand, letting your powers calm him down before he had a panic attack. He broke, letting the tears he has been holding back for a while fall. He fell into your arms, clutching onto you for dear life. You didn't say anything. You let him sob and sob. He knew he had to protect you. He couldn't lose you. You were the only love he had left.
...........................................................................................................................
It had been revealed that Viceroy Gunray was the one behind the assassination attempts on the Senator and that Count Dooku was the one leading this all.
The Battle of Genosis was still going on. You and Anakin had arrived but got captured, trying to save Master Kenobi. You fought with a blaster, knowing you could do so much more. Your Master arrived, saving the Jedi from the arena. The three of you were on a jet, racing out of the arena.
The clones had joined the Jedi in the battle, making it impossible for the Separatists to fight back.
"Look over there," Obi-Wan pointed out. There were three escape speeders trying to, well, escape.
"It's Dooku, shoot him down!" Anakin commanded.
"We're out of rocket fuel," the pilot informed.
"Follow him!"
"We're gonna need some help!" You shouted over the winds and blaster shots.
"There isn't time! Anakin and I can handle this!" Obi-Wan answered.
"No," Anakin argued, "she comes with me. She can help us, she's a talented Jedi knight. She can-"
All of a sudden, the transport you were on got shot, throwing you off the transport. You felt on a sand hill, rolling down. You groaned in pain, stopping yourself from rolling.
"Y/N!" You heard Anakin yell.
You watched as he got farther and farther until he was out of your sight. You rested on your elbows. Kriffing great, you thought. You were stuck in the middle of the desert. You couldn't help but think that Anakin was getting hurt right now. You surpassed the pain in your back and used your powers, making sure no one saw you, traveling the way Anakin's transport went.
.........................................................................................................................
You arrived at the transport only to see Obi-Wan on the floor while Anakin dueled with Count Dooku. You hid behind a pillar while Anakin fought.
You watched as they battled in the dark. You started getting worried for Anakin, as he broke his lightsaber, using his Master's. You looked for any possible option of a weapon, but you couldn't find one.
You felt a burn in your arm, confused that you didn't get shot at. You looked at Anakin, to his right arm severed from his body. He passed out from the sudden pain. You felt the rage take over. The anger. You allowed yourself to be seen by Obi-Wan.
"Y/n! Get out of here!"
Count Dooku turned around to face you.
"Who dares to challenge me?"
"Me," you raised off the ground, your power surrounding you, flowing through your veins, "you snarking son of a bitch."
You used all your might to rip off rocks from the wall, machinery, anything to throw at Dooku. Dooku was caught by surprise, allowing him to fall back in pain. He quickly got off, throwing his electric powers at you. You used your powers to deflect it back to him, resting your feet on the ground. Your eyes glowed a bright red as you began throwing the power at him. He tried throwing the same things you threw, only to be stopped with your other hand.
He quickly swung his red lightsaber at you, hitting you in the arm. You groaned in pain, looking down at your arm. You looked back slowly at Count Dooku. He was astounded. He had never seen anything like you before.
"Who is your Master?" He asked, very curious.
You didn't answer as anger filled your veins. Using your power, you lifted him into the air. He screamed in pain as your power slowly started to rip him apart.
"Y/n! No!"
Your head turned to the sound of your Master's voice. You quickly looked back at Dooku, letting him fall to the ground harshly.
Count Dooku groaned in pain as you stood there, breathing heavily. Your eyes still shining their bright red. You hadn't calmed down from your high yet. You haven't used your powers that heavily before. Blinking, you calmed down, but only a little amount. You couldn't catch your breath and you fell to the ground. Your body was exhausted and you fell into a deep sleep.
..........................................................................................................................
Waking up, your vision was blurred. You checked your surroundings and saw that you were in the medbay at the Temple. You breathed in deeply and groaned. You were in pain. Your back felt like an Eeopie had stepped on it, and your head was pounding. You felt something holding your hand. Looking down, you saw a sleeping Anakin. You looked at his right arm to see a robotic hand there. If he had already been fixed, how long have you been out for?
"Anakin," your voice was hoarse and your throat was dry.
Anakin woke up quickly, looking at you. He knew what you wanted without you even asking him. He grabbed you a small plastic cup of water and you drank it with no hesitation.
"Oh my stars," Anakin brushed your hair with his hand, "I was so scared you weren't going to wake up."
"How long have I been out for?" You asked, scared to hear the answer.
"A couple of weeks."
You sighed in defeat. It wasn't a perfect amount of time, but it wasn't the worst.
"How's your arm?"
Anakin chuckled, showing it to you, "I'm getting used to it. It feels really weird."
You smiled, glad to see him laughing.
"Did Count Dooku escape?"
"Yeah, Master Yoda fought him when you passed out."
You gasped, "Oh stars above. Master Yoda, he-"
"He was concerned for you. He didn't like seeing you use your powers like that, for sure, but he was more concerned for your well-being. He talked with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan knows to keep it a secret. The only thing is is that-"
"Dooku knows," you finished your sentence for him.
He saw the worry flash through your eyes.
"Don't worry," he kissed your knuckles, "no one is going to hurt you under my watch. I'll protect you, just like you did for me."
"You saw me? At the transport?"
"I was up for the last of it. I saw your eyes."
"Are you scared?" You looked anywhere but his face.
"Of course not," Anakin gushed, "your powers don't make you, you. It's your personality. I fell for you before I even knew about your powers."
Anakin realized what he said and started blushing, "Ah-I mean-"
"Y/n!"
Padme's voice alerted you to look at the door.
"Padme!"
She came running through the door, careful to give you a light hug. Anakin stood up and backed up, allowing Padme to have her talk with you.
"I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Yeah, me too," you joked, smiling at the Senator, "I'm sorry we couldn't capture Count Dooku. I tried my best."
"Y/n, they told me what happened. You overworked yourself to save Master Kenobi and Anakin. I'm just glad to see you okay."
You and her talked for a little longer but she retired so she could talk with Chancellor.
"Have you gotten any sleep?" You asked Anakin, noticing the bags under his eyes. He took his spot back, sitting next to you.
"The first time was before you woke up."
"Ani!"
"I wanted to make sure you were okay."
You smiled at his stubbornness.
"Does Master Obi-Wan and Master Yoda know about us?" You asked quietly.
"No," Anakin stated, "but I'm pretty sure my Master has his suspicions."
You looked out the window to be faced with the beautiful Coruscant.
"Speaking of us," you turned your head towards Anakin, who seemed nervous, "I was wondering something."
"What's wrong?" You grabbed his hand and held it in yours.
"I want to protect you. I want to do you right. I want to be able to wake up with you beside me. No matter the consequences with the Council. Maker, I would leave the Order for you. When I first met you, I knew that you were going to be my partner. The one person I could trust and find comfort in. With that being said," his tired eyes looked into your teary-eyed eyes, "would you do me the honor of becoming Y/n Skywalker?"
You gasped in excitement and cheered, "Yes! Of course!"
You leaned up, the best you could, and hugged your newly-to-be husband. The tears were flowing from the both of you and you couldn't be happier to spend the rest of your life with Anakin, the boy who changed your life.
...........................................................................................................................
The ceremony you held was small. The marriage officiant, Padme, and the two of you. You and Anakin had decided to tell Padme since the wedding was held on the terrace of the Villa you had stayed in many moons ago. The terrace where you and Anakin had your first kiss at. You were flooded with emotions on your wedding day and you couldn't be more relieved to spend it with your one true love, Anakin.
...........................................................................................................................
It's been three years since you and Anakin had gotten married. The two of you stayed together during the Clone Wars. He was so happy when the war finally calmed down and he could return home to you. The two of you have kept your relationship a secret, it was only Padme who knew. You continued your study at the Temple, under your Master Yoda. You learned how to do more talents with your power and you learned how to control them.
Anakin had just returned home from rescuing the kidnapped Chancellor. You waited behind a pillar as you watched him and Obi-Wan discuss. You could have sworn you saw Obi-Wan's eyes flicker towards you but you decided to ignore it. Anakin began walking with Bail Organa until he saw you.
He excused himself and ran to you, picking you up and spinning you.
"Oh, Ani," you sighed, "I'm so happy to see you're okay."
"I've missed you, Y/n," Anakin smiled.
"There were rumors that you were killed and I-"
"I'm all right," he rested a hand on the back of your neck, "It feels like we've been apart for a lifetime. And it might have been, if the chancellor hadn't been kidnapped, I don't think they would have ever brought us back from the outer rim sieges."
He bowed his head to kiss you and you happily answered by kissing him back.
"I'm tired of all this deception. I don't care if they know we're married."
"Me too, Anakin," you hugged him again, "me too."
You started shaking in fear and excitement. How were you going to tell him?
"Are you alright? You're shaking," Anakin pulled out of the hug and looked down at you.
"Anakin," you looked down, "I'm pregnant."
Anakin breathed out in excitement, "Wow, that's-that's wonderful."
You smiled slightly, "What are we going to do?"
"We're not going to worry about anything right now. All right? This is a happy moment. The happiest moment of my life."
The two of you shared a kiss and hugged. Your life had finally felt complete, knowing that Anakin was excited to start a family. You were head over heels for him and would do anything for him and the baby.
........................................................................................................................
You were walking peacefully down the hallway. You were looking for Anakin to see if he had returned. Turning your head, you heard blaster shots going off. You walked briskly through the hall and met with a sight that you couldn't watch. You saw the clones killing the Jedi. Covering your mouth, you ran as fast as you could towards your room. The smell of charred flesh and your pregnant stomach were not mixing well together. You slowly passed a youngling learning room and walked in. The younglings were laying on the floor, with no movement.
You started crying at the sight. You saw that they were slashed with lightsaber burns. What monster could have done this?
You heard shuffling to your left and you looked to see a clone about to shoot a small girl youngling.
Using your powers, you pushed the clone back. Throwing your power at him, he was knocked out. You ran over to check on the youngling. "Are you okay?" You asked, kneeling before her.
"Master Skywalker," the youngling explained to you what had happened. You couldn't believe what you were hearing. All this time, it was your husband that was doing this crime.
The youngling was scared, you could tell. Resting a hand on her small shoulder, you comforted him, "Be strong, young one. Trust in the Force. The escape pods are open, I can see them down the hall. Run there and go anywhere. Anywhere but here."
The youngling nodded, "What about you?"
"I'll be okay here. Don't worry about me. May the Force be with you," you nodded your head at the shaking youngling. You made sure she made it to the pod. She gave you a small wave and you smiled, with tears flowing down your eyes.
You hid until you heard nothing left. That's what scared you. You quietly made your way back to your room. You could have sworn you saw Anakin but didn't want to approach him. You closed the door when you heard footsteps approaching. You quickly pressed your back against the door and covered your mouth.
"There is no one here, Lord Vader," a clone spoke.
You listened closely, "Alright. Continuing checking, then we can leave."
You heard the footsteps quietly go farther. You let out a shaky breath and cried.
"Y/n."
You stopped. He knew you were in here.
"Please," his voice sounded like he wanted to burst out in tears, "let me in. I can feel you."
You didn't answer back. You slowly slid down on the floor and started crying again.
"You weren't meant to see th-" he cut himself off, not wanting to bring it up, "I love you. I did this for you. I can protect you with my new powers. We can live a happy life with our baby. If you can understand, please meet me on Mustafar. I'll be waiting."
You heard him walk away, as you sat there crying.
You couldn't help but think that this was your fault. Had you done something to make him turn to the Dark Side? Your thoughts went to Padme. You hadn't seen her in a while and you doubted she survived. You assumed she was dead and that made you cry even harder.
You were torn.
..........................................................................................................................
Resting in your corridor, you heard a knock at the door. Holding your, now, bigger belly, you walked to the door to be greeted by Obi-Wan.
"Master Obi-Wan. What can I do for you?"
Obi-Wan spoke quietly, "May I come in?"
You heard a hint of worry and unsettlement in his voice but decided not to question it.
"Of course," you moved to the side so he could walk in.
"When was the last time you saw Anakin?"
"Yesterday," you walked back towards the couch and sat down slowly. You weren't lying. The last time you did physically see him was before he left. Obi-Wan walked behind you and sat opposite you.
"And do you know where he is now?"
"No," you answered quickly. You did know. But, he trusted you. You couldn't help but feel guilty, for lying to Obi-Wan.
"Y/n, I need your help. He is in grave danger," Obi-Wan begged.
"From who?" You gasped, looking straight at Obi-Wan.
"From himself."
Obi-Wan couldn't maintain eye contact with you so something was up and you could sense it in the air. You knew exactly what he was going to say.
"Y/n," Obi-Wan took your hand and held it, "Anakin has turned to the Dark Side."
You sighed, grasping onto Obi-Wan's hand, "I know."
This was now or never. You were going to tell Obi-Wan the truth. About everything. You couldn't hold back anymore.
Obi-Wan's head turned in confusion as he moved to sit next to you. You told him everything. Your relationship, the marriage, the babies, the incident yesterday.
"And," you started crying, "I can't help but feel like this is all my fault. If I talked to him, maybe I could have stopped him. If he talked to me."
Obi-Wan looked away, trying to obtain this new information.
"He was deceived by a lie. We all were. It appears that the chancellor is behind everything, including the war," Obi-Wan looked back at you, "Palpatine is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. After the death of Count Dooku, Anakin became his new apprentice."
You blinked tears away and you turned your head away, "Are you upset for us lying to you?"
Obi-Wan grabbed your hand again and slightly smiled, "I've known for a long time, Y/n. I could sense there was someone with my Padawan. I knew it was you. He cared for you. I'm sorry you have to be going through this. I understand why the two of you lied."
"Thank you," you hugged Obi-Wan. He was the only person you could talk to right now.
"I need to know where he is," Obi-Wan whispered, looking at you.
You let go of the hug to look at Obi-Wan, "You're going to kill him, aren't you?"
"He has become a very dangerous threat."
You shook your head, "I can't."
Obi-Wan's stare lingered for a while but he stood up, walking towards the landing pad.
"Are you sure you don't know?"
You looked down at your glowing red hands. Tell him, your thoughts were yelling at you. You couldn't. But, the younglings he had slaughtered. You couldn't help but think about the negatives.
"I'm so sorry," Obi-Wan walked off to the Jet but you stopped him. "Obi-Wan!"
He turned around to see you running towards him.
Crying, you admitted, "He is at Mustafar. But, promise me you won't kill him."
Obi-Wan looked down at you and couldn't help but tear up. You were going to be all alone if Anakin was killed.
"I can't promise you anything. I dearly wish I could, Y/n. I promise you that if anything happens," Obi-Wan kissed your forehead to comfort you, "we will keep your baby safe."
You stood there as you watched Obi-Wan fly off.
"Please, come back to me," you whispered, hoping that Anakin could hear you.
..........................................................................................................................
The contraction pains that were rushing through your stomach were terrible. You were transported by Captain Typho to a safe medbay to give birth. You saw your Master and Bail Organa waiting at the medbay. They helped you get escorted to a private room so they could scan and see if the baby was ready to come out.
Laying down in the metal cot, you groaned in pain as you felt the baby pushing to be let out. You turned your head and saw a burnt-out Obi-Wan talking to a medical droid and the two men who were already here.
The only thought you had in your head was, where's Anakin?
"Miss Skywalker," the droid walked in, "you are ready to give birth. Obi-Wan has agreed to accompany you during the birth."
You made eye contact with Obi-Wan and saw the broken look in his eyes. He made his way next to you and held your frail hand.
"Where is he?" You asked, sternly.
"Y/n, he-"
You screamed out in pain as the baby was starting to come out. You grasped tightly onto Obi-Wan, who brushed the hair off your forehead.
You screamed and screamed until the baby came out. You were breathing heavily, tearing up as you saw the crying baby being held in the nurse's arms.
"It's a boy."
Obi-Wan held the small, crying child in his hands, looking at you sweetly.
"Oh, Luke," you brushed Luke's cheek with your finger and smiled.
Suddenly, you felt another baby start to come out. Crying out in pain, you grasped Obi-Wan's arm again. You were confused but excited that you were having twins.
"It's a girl."
You held the baby girl in your arms and smiled, "Leia."
The nurse gave them small blankets to cover up their small bodies.
You let Obi-Wan take the babies out of your arms, the tiredness getting to you.
"Where is he?" You breathed out.
Obi-Wan's blue eyes connected with your stressed ones and you knew exactly what had happened.
"I tried to help him. I failed him, Y/n. I'm sorry."
You silently turned your head to face the ceiling. Your whole body was numb with heartbreak. You knew that Anakin dying had a chance of happening. You just couldn't believe it actually did happen. Your lover, husband, soulmate. He was gone. You closed your eyes as the tears trickled down your cheeks. Obi-Wan let you rest, carrying the babies to rest in their cots.
Before Obi-Wan stepped out, you stopped him.
"I can't take care of the babies alone. With Anakin gone," you cried, "they need to be separated. Away from the Sith. I'll fake my death and go into hiding. We can fake their deaths as well. They can be safe without me."
Obi-Wan nodded, "That's a brave choice. I admire it. But, where shall they go?"
Bail Organa stepped into the conversation, "I'll take the girl. My wife and I always dreamed of adopting a baby girl. She can be safe with us on Alderaan."
You looked at Leia. Her peaceful sleeping. Looking at Luke, you smiled. You could already tell he would be just like his father.
"What about Luke?" You asked, turning your head towards Obi-Wan.
"I'll take him to his family in Tatooine and watch over him. Master Yoda and I already talked about it," he ran a hand over his face.
You hummed in agreement, too exhausted to answer. You let the sleepiness take over and you rested.
Soon, the nightmares that were once fixed, would return. But this time, much worse.
.......................................................................................................................
"I'm looking for a ship. I was tracking its signature," the much older Obi-Wan, who now goes by Ben, asked a bystander.
It has been a couple of years since the downfall of Order 66. You had joined Ben on Tatooine, feeling safer with another person around. The two of you had gotten much closer and he was like your brother.
The two of you had just arrived on Daiyu, trying to find Leia, your daughter. She was 10 years old now. Bail Organa had contacted Ben, informing him that Leia had been captured. As soon as you heard that, you knew you had one mission.
To find your daughter. No matter who or what you had to hurt.
"You're in Daiyu now. All signals in or out are blocked. People like their secrets out here," the bystander explained, walking off.
Ben shrugged at you, walking towards the city. You pulled the cloak hood over your head as you followed the ex-Jedi Master.
Ben was looking at a Clone Veteran while you traversed into your own world. You looked at the environment in Daiyu. It was a very bright, but chaotic planet. You could never imagine someone living here.
"Alright, clear the path," you heard. You didn't look behind your shoulder, knowing that it was Stormtroopers. Knowing they were here meant that some precious cargo was here. To them, Leia was only praise. Praise so they could get a promotion.
"You want some spice?" A young girl came up to you.
"I got Kessel pure, glitterstim, and Felucian. What do you need?"
Your eyes flashed red, "I need information. I'm looking for my daughter. She was taken, and she's on this planet."
The girl scoffed, "Well if she's here, you're never gonna see her again. Nobody leaves this place. I was someone's daughter once, too."
You glared at the girl, your hands shaking with rage. They were flooded with a powerful red while your eyes shared that red.
"Listen, I-"
"Please do excuse my sister," Ben pulled your hand into his, trying to calm you down, "she does miss her daughter."
"Here," the girl dropped a small canister in Ben's pocket," this one is free."
The girl looked at you, "Couple more of those and you'll forget she ever existed."
Breathing heavily, you titled your head in anger.
"Y/n," the accented voice went in one ear and through the other.
"We need to find her," you snarled, "now."
..................................................................................................................
"Hey," a lab worker followed you and Ben into the hallway. You stopped with Obi-Wan as the worker approached you.
"What are you doing back here?" The worker stood in front of you.
"Oh, it seems we have lost our-"
Ben wasn't able to finish his sentence, as you used your power, shooting at the one worker. He got pushed back into a wall, knocking him out cold. Using your power, you surrounded the other worker.
"Where's the girl?" You whispered, pulling the worker to be faced in front of you.
The worker didn't respond.
"We can do this the easy way," you started pulling the man apart, "or the hard way."
"I-It doesn't matter! I'm dead anyway!"
You laughed, as your eyes glowed a dark red, "Just remember, this was me being reasonable."
You wrapped a leg of red around the worker's neck, making him lose air.
"Y/n! Stop!"
You ignored Ben's pleas as you watched the man lose his breath slowly. The man made pleading eye contact with you and whispered where Leia was. You dropped the man on the floor.
"Th-thank you! I-"
The man's body dropped as you snapped his neck.
"Really?" Ben's judging voice startled you, as you forgot where you were.
"Don't act like you weren't about to knock him out."
"Knock him out," he whisper-yelled, "not kill him! For the sake of the stars, you must learn how to control your anger."
You rolled your eyes and you quietly walked towards the cell Leia was held at. Ben stood in front, checking his surroundings.
Ben opened the door to the cell. There was a small body covered in a sheet.
"Leia," you breathed, walking briskly. You uncovered her, to be faced with a dummy.
You gasped when a strong pair of arms slammed you against the metal wall.
A man walked in, facing Ben first. Two creatures held Ben while two held you.
"I didn't know that Jedi could bleed."
While the man did his villainous dialogue, you closed your eyes and focused on the minds next to you. Invading their head, you leaned in and whispered, "Sleep."
The one guard had done what you asked, slumping against the wall. The other guard looked confused. He didn't know what had just happened. He looked at you and he saw that you didn't do anything. Your astral body image floated behind him, warning him, "Run."
The man yelled in fear and darted out of the room. The three that were left faced their attention to you.
"Well, everybody bleeds," Ben smashed the canister he got earlier on the floor, grabbing you, and pushing you out of the room. He closed the door while the fumes closed in on the guards.
"What did you do to that guard?" Obi-Wan pulled his mask down.
"Just gave him a little scare," you smirked.
Ben nodded at you, not wanting to know what that meant.
"Stop," you held out your hand to a cell door, "she's in this one. I can feel her."
Ben stepped towards the door and opened it. You walked in first, not seeing Leia. Suddenly, a small girl ran at you, kicking you in the leg. She tried running away but Ben grabbed her.
"Let go of me!" She yelled.
"Wait!"
"Let go!"
Ben put her back down on the floor and backed up. Your eyes started tearing up. This was your daughter. Your Leia Skywalker.
"Who are you?" She defensively asked.
"Y-Your father sent us. We are here to help you," Obi-Wan had his attention on you, to see how you were holding up.
"Where's the army?"
You kneeled to her level and breathed, "I promise you, Leia, we will get you out of here. We will get you home. You have to trust m-us."
You shakily cried as her brown orbs looked at you. She was a spitting image of you.
Leia looked at you, noticing how she looked so much like you. She decided not to say anything, dealing with the mess of the problem already.
"Come," you held out your hand, "we are gonna get you out of here."
Her small hand grabbed onto yours and you almost broke down. Here you are with your daughter, ten years later, and she had no memory of you. You and Ben led her out of the room. Ben noticed your state and placed a hand on your shoulder. You smiled at him.
Only if you knew that Leia did have a small memory of you. The forehead kiss when you had just named her. Leia held onto it like it was going to slip away.
.........................................................................................................................
Anakin was alive. Leia hadn't figured it out yet, that you were her mother. Reva had been a youngling during Order 66. Tala had sacrificed herself. And now, here Ben was going to face Anakin alone.
"Are you serious?" You yelled at him, on a private part of the ship.
"I have to, Y/n. I need to see him for myself. I need to face him, alone."
"I need to see him too! He was my husband, Ben, he was my best friend."
"He doesn't know that you are alive. It's best to keep it that way. It will keep you safe. Leia safe. Even Luke safe."
Your eyes glowed red as you stepped into Ben's face, "Don't you dare bring up my children. It is not their fault."
Ben saw the hurt in your eyes and wrapped his arms around your shoulders.
"I need to see him, please, I need closure," you didn't mean for it to come out as a beg, but it did.
"Stay here with Leia. She needs you."
You sighed and let go of the hug, "Be safe, Ben. Please. I can't lose anyone anymore."
He smiled softly, "May the Force be with you, Y/n."
"May the Force be with you, Ben."
He walked off to the dropship and waved goodbye.
"Are you okay?" Leia walked behind you.
You wiped off the stained tears, "Yes, I'll be okay."
Leia sighed, knowing it was time to bring it up, "Are you my mother?"
You sighed in defeat, turning around. You faced her and saw that she had your old blaster holster wrapped around her. You knelt as she walked towards you.
"Where did you get this?" You picked up the holster in your hand, smiling at the memories.
"Ben gave it to me before he left to talk to you. He said it was my mother's and judging by your reaction," Leia placed her small hand on top of yours, "it was yours."
You chuckled, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you when you were younger. I've regretted it for the past ten years. You weren't supposed to know."
"It's okay," Leia comforted, "I understand. You wanted to keep me safe."
"I can't make up for the ten years I have missed," you kissed her hand, "but I know I will get you back home."
"I've never felt like that was my home. It never has been. I don't want to be a princess. I want to be a fighter."
"Just like me," you teared up.
"Just like you," Leia smiled, "mom."
You gasped as she called you that. You've longed to have your children in your arms again and here was one of them, calling you mom. You pulled her into a warm embrace.
"Is Ben my dad?"
You laughed, "No. Ben is your...uncle. Ben was there for me when I lost your father. He would make a great father figure."
"Who is my dad?"
You let go of the hug, "That's another story for another time."
Leia looked into your eyes, "Go. Ben needs you."
You blinked, "Are you sure? I don't want to leave you after just getting you again."
"I know you'll come back for me."
You rested her forehead against your own.
"I love you, Leia," you closed your eyes, "don't ever forget that."
"I love you, too."
You kissed her hairline and raced to the escape pod the ship had. You tapped into Ben's presence and headed to him.
...........................................................................................................................
You heard the rumbling of rocks being thrown at something. No, someone. You ran and hid behind a pile of rocks. You peered to see Ben throwing rocks at him. Your Anakin. Darth Vader. You watched as Ben and Anakin battled. It ended with Ben slashing Anakin's mask open. You gasped as you saw him.
"Anakin is gone," his voice was distorted. You could hear a hint of Anakin, but all of Vader, "I am what remains."
You saw Ben start to tear up.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Anakin. For all of it."
"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did," this was Anakin saying this. You heard his voice clearly and loudly. You fell onto your knees, clutching your stomach, sobbing quietly.
"The same way, I will destroy you!" Vader had returned, wanting his revenge.
Ben whispered, "Then my friend is truly dead."
"Goodbye," Ben turned around, "Darth."
Ben walked away but saw you. He ran towards you and whispered, "You can't be here."
"I-please. Let me see him. I can erase his memory of him ever seeing me. Please," you begged, sobbing.
Ben nodded, "I'll be waiting for you."
Ben walked off.
This was it. After all these years, you would be facing him. You knew it wasn't him but you couldn't care less. Calming yourself down, you snuck behind him.
"Obi-Wan!" He yelled, wheezing.
"Anakin," you softly cried.
His six-foot-tall body was hunched over but straightened as soon as you said his name. He turned around and titled his head.
"Y-Y/n?"
You walked towards him, crying as hard as you ever had. You slowly placed a hand on his masked cheek.
"It's me."
You knew it was the last hint of Anakin talking to you when he threw his lightsaber to the ground. He leaned into your touch and collapsed into your arms.
"I thought you were dead. They told me you were dead."
"I know. It was for the best."
He cried. Yeah, the Darth Vader was crying in your arms. But, it wasn't Darth. It was Anakin Skywalker. The scared boy from Tatooine who had fallen in love with you.
"My love," you whispered, "don't cry."
"I failed you. I left you," he looked up at you, "the baby?"
You couldn't resist yourself. He wasn't going to remember anyway.
"Babies. Twins. A boy and a girl. Luke and Leia."
Anakin smiled, "Are they safe?"
"They will be," you backed away from the hug, sobbing, "but, you can't remember this."
"W-What?"
"You can't know I'm alive. You can't know about our babies."
"No," he stood the best he could, gripping onto your arms, "we-we can pretend! Like we did many moons ago. We can sneak around. I won't be with the Dark Side. I'll be with you."
You laughed, while the tears slipped down your cheeks, "We can't, Anakin. It would ruin everything."
Anakin cried, lifting his hands on his mask. He took it off and revealed his look to you.
"I need you to see me," he lifted your hand to his cheek, "before we say goodbye."
You cried even harder at the sight of him, "I love you, Anakin Skywalker. I'll love you even when your Darth Vader. I'll be there for you, even when I'm not. Your bad times. I'll be there. I always will be."
Anakin kissed your forehead, "I love you, Y/n Skywalker. Even when I become him again, I'll remember our forbidden times. The times when I was able to love you. I'll love you always. I love you in every universe."
The two of you were sobbing as you shared the final kiss. Your lips connected and it was the most closure you have ever gotten. His rough lips, which had once been soft, had given you the sense of comfort they had all that time ago on Naboo.
"Close your eyes, please," you pleaded, "this won't hurt."
"I love you."
With those final words, you placed your hand next to his temple and let your power flood his brain. You replaced the memory of your meeting with the memory of him and Ben fighting. Letting go, you watched as his body slumped to the ground. You knelt down to his body and kissed his forehead. You grabbed his broken mask and placed it back on his head.
"Goodbye, my love."
........................................................................................................................
You and Ben had arrived on Tatooine. After everything that has happened, you wanted to see if Luke was okay. You arrived only to hear Beru and Owen calling out for Luke.
"No," you mumbled, the tears still falling from the conversation with Anakin.
"Where is he?" Ben asked, supporting you with his arm.
"He is gone."
"I'll look in the Dune Sea. We search until we find him," Ben grabbed your hand and led you to start walking.
"Ben! Y/n!" Beru called out.
You turned around to see the Inquisitor Reva, carrying Luke's body.
"No!" You shuddered, seeing your son's dead body.
You stood in front of Ben, Beru, and Owen. Your body filled with the emotions you have been feeling for the past years.
"You killed him!" You screamed, floating in the air. Your eyes had glowed a darker red than ever before.
"No, I-"
You lifted Reva, making her yell out in pain. You made sure your power made her body burn and boil. You choked her. And choked her. And choked her. You summoned her lightsaber in your hand and ignited it.
"This is for my-"
"Y/n!"
You snapped your fuming head to see Luke, waking up. You gasped and shot the both of you down. Reva was writhing in pain. Ben ran to check on her as you watched Luke crawl into Beru's arms.
"Luke," you whispered, walking towards him. Beru allowed you to hold his frail body. You whispered your gratitude and held him tightly. You have been watching him for the past ten years. You saw him pretending to pilot. Just like his father.
He still wasn't fully awake, so you decided to place peaceful dreams into his mind.
"Luke Skywalker," you brushed his hair to the side, "you will become one of the greatest pilots and Jedi the galaxy has ever seen. Just like your father. Your father and I are so proud of you. I will always be with you, even when you can't see me. May the Force be with you, Luke."
You kissed his forehead and gave him back to Beru, who smiled at you.
You looked towards Reva and Ben. Walking towards her, you kneeled in front of her.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, looking down shamefully.
"It's okay."
"It's not. I almost killed you, Reva."
"I understand your pain. You thought I killed him. It was okay."
You couldn't control your emotions anymore so you cried and leaned into Ben.
"I wanted to thank you," Reva coughed, "for all those years ago."
"What?" You whispered.
"I was the youngling you saved. During the Genocide. You gave me hope. I've never forgotten about you," Reva explained.
You leaned toward her and hugged her. One that both of you needed.
........................................................................................................................
"You okay?" Ben asked you, he rubbed your shoulder.
"Better than I'll ever be," you slightly smiled.
The transport jet's door opened. It revealed a surprised Leia. Her droid, Lola, floated behind the two of you.
"Lola!" She exclaimed, running towards her droid.
"Who are we to separate a young girl from her droid?" Ben joked.
The two of you walked towards Bail, who welcomed you in a hug.
"Obi-Wan. Y/n."
You accepted the hug and then hugged the Queen.
"We can never repay you two. Thank you," the Queen expressed her gratitude.
"Well," Ben turned around, "she has already done that."
"I fear for her future. The Empire grows stronger and bolder."
"Well, if you ever need our help again," you added, "you know where to find us."
"Let's hope that day never comes," Bail shook yours and Ben's hands.
Ben walked over to Leia to talk to her.
"Bail, I'm sorry but I-"
"We know. She told us," the Queen answered.
"I could erase her memory, if you would like," you suggested, looking at her laughing with Ben.
"Actually," the Queen stepped forward, "we would love it if you could stay with us."
Your eyes widened in shock, "W-What?"
"We can't separate her from her mother, who she wants to know so much about. You can protect her here."
You smiled the widest you have in a long time, "Thank you so much!"
You hugged both of them and ran towards the other two. You watched as they shared a hug.
"Goodbye, Princess. May the Force be with you," Ben finished.
He stood up and waited to the side for you. You faced him, holding Leia's hand.
"Ben, the Queen and the King allowed me to stay here and protect Leia. I hope that is alright."
You felt Leia's hand squeeze your hand in excitement, not knowing about this surprise.
Ben smiled and crossed his arms, "Of course, Y/n. You deserve to live in happiness with your daughter after everything you've been through."
You teared up and let go of Leia's hand, hugging Ben tightly. "Thank you, Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi. For everything you have done for me and Anakin. For my family. You have been the greatest brother I could have ever asked for," you whispered.
Ben started to tear up, as well, "And thank you, Y/n Skywalker. For being the greatest younger sister I could ever ask for. You deserve the world. You will always be, and have always been, a wonderful mother."
You allowed Ben to say his farewell and to board the jet.
"May the Force be with you, Obi-Wan."
"May the Force be with you, Y/n."
You watched as his jet flew away. You knew you were going to miss him. You've been with him for the past ten years.
"He'll always be here, in spirit," Leia grabbed your hand again.
You knelt to her height and clasped her face with your hand, "Leia, I want you to know about your father. He was a passionate, fearless, and forthright boy. You share those qualities with him. He was a wonderful man. A leader. He loved me until the day he died. He still loves me. Us. He is watching us from up there in the stars. I do wish I could tell you more," you looked at the sky.
"It's okay, Mom."
You stood up and clasped her hand. You walked towards the Queen and King, who welcomed you into their palace. You knew that this was your new home. You wished it was your new home with Anakin, Luke, and Leia. But, you couldn't complain. Ben was watching over Luke. You had Leia. You were once their mother, and you were always going to be their mother.
The End.
Character Masterlist:
Requested by: @nev20
Tumblr media
OMG I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT. I got held up with school and other personal matter 🤧
I turned your idea into an x reader story, I hope you don't mind!
Anyway, here is your request, and I hope you enjoy!
Word Count: 2,567 words. (it's kinda long)
Warning(s): Fluffy fluff, some angst, mentions of Order 66 and death, Leia running away, not proof read, lot’s of uncanon stuff (becuz its better that way)
Reader is GN, or at least I tried to keep it that way. Let me know if I missed anything.
Outline: After Anakin defeats Darth Sidious in a gruesome fight, he leaves the Jedi Order to settle down with you. Fourteen years later, you are both blessed with a daughter and son: Luke and Leia. However, because Anakin Skywalker was a famous Jedi, the descendants of him are worth a lot of money to bounty hunters, so you and Anakin live in constant worry of your beloved children being whisked away, far from your reach.
Our Intentions Were Good, I promise
Tumblr media
“Anakin!” You yelled with a hoarse voice over all the chaos that was going on in the Jedi Temple. You could sense his presence nearby, but with all the Clone Troopers storming around the temple killing Jedi in their wake, you could not help but feel worried for your lover.
You, Anakin and the rest of the Jedi Council discovered that the Sith Lord behind all the issues was none other than the Chancellor. It was a big shock to Anakin, and you knew he felt betrayed since he basically considered him as a father. But you had always had your suspicions, and the discovery only made sense to you.
You hear your name get called through the rubble and dust flying around the temple and you spin on your heels to see where the voice originated from. You let out a shaky breath when you noticed it was Anakin, and he was okay.
“Ani!” You whispered and ran over to him and tightly embraced him in a hug. He hugged you back and buried his head into the side of your neck and inhaled your scent.
“You’re okay, I was so worried for you,” Anakin said, biting back a sob.
“And you’re okay,” you giggled when he began to kiss you tenderly on your cheek.
“Of course I’m okay. I am the Chosen One afterall,” he said with a hint of pride in his voice. You rolled your eyes at his banter and gently kissed his cheek.
“Where’s the Sith Lord? Did you arrest him?”
Anakin hummed in acknowledgement before continuing to kiss your cheek passionately.
“Anakin–I’m trying to have a conversation with you,” you giggled in between kisses.
He sighed heavily and stepped back a bit to look you in your eyes.
“We managed to arrest him, however, Master Windu was. . .killed in the process. Which leaves Obi-Wan as the new Head of the Council.”
You gasped at the news and you felt your eyes burn. Master Windu was your own mentor when you were a Padawan, and basically the Father figure you never had. Even though he seemed very distant and cold-hearted, he would once in awhile have his moments that left great memories of the time when you were a Padawan under his authority.
“It’s alright, darling,” Anakin said, kissing your lips gently. “He’s in a better place now.”
You nodded your head slowly, and buried your face into the crook of his neck.
“Let’s go home, Ani.”
+++
Not long after Order 66, you and Anakin officially left the Jedi Order and got married. It was a small but beautiful ceremony; with only a few people invited. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, and Anakin’s old Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.
About a year later, you brought two beautiful children into the world: Leia and Luke Skywalker. Leia looked a lot like you, but had Anakin’s strong will and personality. Meanwhile, your son looked like a spitting image of your husband, but he had more of your quiet and laid back personality.
Now, your twins were nearing the age of thirteen, and you couldn’t believe how fast your small babies were now young adults.
One problem, however, was the constant worry of your children being abducted from you due to them being related to Anakin. You both were aware that both Luke and Leia had a bounty on their head worth thousands of credits. Anakin and Obi-Wan had both tried to investigate who was behind the order of their capture, but they never succeeded. So, you found yourself being incredibly over-protective of your children.
You homeschooled your children because you were scared of them walking by themselves to and from the public school. You didn’t allow Leia to go out with just her friends even if she was accompanied by their parents, and you never allowed Luke to be outside by himself.
Were you taking all precautions a bit too far? Of course you were. You and
Anakin loved your children and were too attached to risk the chances of them being taken away from you.
+++
“Mom, dad, can we ask you something?”
You looked up from the holopad you were scrolling through and noticed Leia and Luke were both standing in front of you with anxious looks on their faces. You raised your brow and beckoned them to walk up closer to you.
“Yes you two?” Anakin said with a small look of concern on his face.
“Umm. . .” Luke started to say, but immediately lost his train of thought and snapped his mouth shut.
“You know how today marks the fourteenth year of peace throughout the whole galaxy, right?” Leia began.
You glanced at Anakin and noticed he was also confused as to where this conversation was going.
You nodded your head at your daughter to continue and she shakily inhaled.
“There is a parade and fair–”
“No” you and Anakin said at the same time sternly, knowing exactly where this was going.
“But why?” Leia pleaded, tears began to form in her crystal eyes.
Luke sighed heavily, and with heavy footsteps headed to the staircase to head to his room.
You pinched the bridge of your nose in annoyance.
“Leia, we have been over this many times. I would have thought you would know by now.” You said.
Leia’s face slowly morphed into one of pure grief and frustration.
“I HATE THIS! You and dad worrying about EVERYTHING!! This whole thing is so stupid!” And like that, she stormed out of the room and slammed her bedroom door when she reached it.
You shook your head and looked at your husband to see his reaction and noticed he was already looking at you.
“She is kind of right, you know?” You began. “Our children are basically secluded from the rest of the world, let alone other kids their age. It wouldn’t hurt to let them go out once, would it?”
Anakin hummed in thought.
“I’ll think about it. I think you might be right.”
“The parade doesn’t start until nightfall, so you just sit there and put your one brain-cell to work, darling.” You teased as you stood up from the couch you were previously relaxing on and began to head to the kitchen.
“At least I have a brain-cell, sweetheart.” Anakin bit back to which you turned around to smack him on the top of his head.
He chuckled and grabbed a hold of your wrist before pulling you down harshly onto his lap.
“You are such a bully, darling.” Anakin shook his head. You huffed at that.
“And you aren’t?”
“No, I am just your teasing husband.” He said, glancing at your lips before pulling you into a long and passionate kiss. You hummed and smiled into the kiss. You reached your hand behind his head, and moved your hands into his hair, before pulling hard on it, causing Anakin to jump and disconnect your lips.
“HEY! You’ll pay for that!” He warned with a slight smile on his face. You rolled your eyes before squirming out of his tight hold.
“Only if you can get me!” You giggled lightly before sprinting out of the room and running up to your joined bedroom.
+++
“Ugh, why is mom and dad so strict?” Leia complained as she dramatically plopped onto her brother's bed. Luke shrugged and continued to tinker with Lola, Leia’s small robotic companion.
“And you are so helpful Mr. I-don’t-dare-disobey-my-parents.” Leia said with venom  laced in her voice.
Luke sighed heavily and ignored the rest of Leia’s banter.
After a stream of censored cursing and complaining about how her life is so miserable, she decided that she was going to take matters into her own hands.
“I am going to sneak out of the house.” Leia said with some excitement in her voice.
Luke just about choked at his sisters ‘revelation”.
“Umm. . .no you aren’t” He said sternly.
Leia chuckled before sliding off his bed and began to walk over to her slightly older brother.
“You aren’t the boss of me Luke. What are you going to even do, cry and tell mommy and daddy? You’re no fun at all. In fact: you’re straight up boring. I don’t need your consent. I’m doing what I want.”
And with that, she stormed out of the room.
Luke sat at his desk quietly, thinking hard.
“She wouldn’t actually do it, will she?” He asked Lola, who was still off and had most of her parts laid out on the table.
He sighed heavily but decided his sister didn’t have the guts to carry out such a dangerous idea.
Or, so he thought.
+++
“Leia?! O.M.G girl, I thought your parents were gonna say no to you turning up!” Leia smiled when she recognised the face of her best friend, a Twi-Lek named Brigade, and her friend, Han Solo.
“Yeah, they did say no. But I came anyway.” Leia said matter-of-factly.
Brigade gasped and squealed with excitement.
“About time you take control of your life! That’s so badass of you!”
Han Solo chuckled at that and patted Leia’s head fondly.
“And if anything happens, don’t forget I’m here.” he winked.
Leia rolled her eyes at his playful banter and noticed that the streets of Coruscant was more packed than she expected.
“Wow, there’s a lot of people here.” She trailed off.
“Yup. But it’s normal for an event like this.” Brigade said casually.
+++
“Luke, what do you mean she left?” I panicked when I entered Leias room and found it empty with her window wide open.
“I-I am so sorry, mother.” Luke stuttered. “I didn’t think she’d actually do it and decided against telling you. I should’ve and I am so sorry.”
Anakin had his arms crossed and he was staring at the ceiling as if it was the most interesting thing in the room. You cleared your throat to gain his attention, to which he obliged.
“Ani? What are we going to do?”
“Well, we need to go find her, first of all. But this event is a planet-wide thing and I don’t even know where to start looking.”
Luke gulped and began to burst into tears.
“I am so sorry! It’s all my fault!”
You reached out to your son and hugged him tightly, kissing him on the top of his head.
“It’s all of our faults. We have been too strict with you children and this behaviour was bound to happen eventually. If anything, it’s our fault.” You said calmly, glancing at Anakin to see him nodding in agreement.
“Now, let’s go find your sister.”
+++
“Umm. . .are you sure this is safe, Brigade?” Leia asked, gulping heavily when Brigade split up from Han Solo and was leading Leia away from the rest of the crowd to an alley-way close by.
“Yup! Totally safe. As long as you're here with me.” Brigade said carelessly.
Leia nodded and tried to take her friend’s advice to heart, but through the force, she could sense something terrible was about to happen.
“Well, well, well. Look-y here! The Twi-Lek actually did it!” Leia heard a voice from behind her and she spun quickly on her heels and noticed there was two masked people in front of her. A man and a woman.
“What are they talking about?” Leia asked cautiously.
Brigade slowly faced Leia with an emotionless expression.
“You should’ve stayed home, Leia. Coming out here by yourself was foolish.”
“What do you mean? What are you on about, Brigade?”
“When I first found out how high the bounty was for you and your brother, I knew I had to get close to you. I’m sorry if it hurts, but my family needed the money.”
Leia felt hot tears fall down her cheek at the news. Her childhood friend had been using her this whole time?
“What the Kriff, Brigade. You traitor. I thought we were friends!” She sobbed.
Brigade continued to stand completely still without showing a pang of regret.
“So sad, but we have no time for theatrics! The big man wants the job to be done A-S-A-P. We have a ship to catch.” The woman said carelessly, as she dug into a satchel that was around her shoulders and pulled out a big sack of credits.
“A thousand credits, just as we promised you.” The man said.
Brigade caught the bag and opened it and looked over her newly-earned loot.
“Thank you, Leia. You just saved my father from a certain death.” Brigade said with a small smile on her face.
Leia felt strong arms grab her by the shoulders and she felt herself get yanked to the ground.
“I got you Leia!” She sat up and noticed Han had rushed into the alley and was now fighting for his life against the two masked people.
“Run! Get out of here!” He yelled at her. Leia quickly scrambled to her feet and rushed out of the alley, searching for the direction home.
But, once again, she felt someone grab onto her, making her let out a bloody sounding scream.
“Leia, it’s okay!”
Leia recognised the voice of her father and latched onto him tightly.
“Dad! I am so glad I found you! You and mom were right! Everything here is dangerous, please take me home!”
“Leia, what happened?” you asked with a calm voice bending over slightly to reach her eye level.
“Alley-way, and Brigade selling me or something and- O.M.G! Han is there all by himself! He needs help!” Leia exclaimed with complete terror and worry laced in her voice. She pointed at the direction she came from and her father nodded and began to rush that way.
When he was out of sight, Leia looked back up at you and could see that you were smiling and looked the complete opposite of how she expected.
“Why are you smiling? I thought you’d be so mad at me.”
“Oh, I am mad at you, Leia.” Your eye twitched in annoyance. “But I am so thankful that you are alright and nothing happened to you.”
Leia sniffled some more and buried her face into your warm body.
“I’m sorry, mum.” Leia cried.
“Shh. . .let’s talk about this when we get home.”
+++
“So, you actually were going to take me and Luke to the event?” Leia asked with complete disbelief in her eyes.
You nodded and looked over at your husband who still was nursing a bruise he had gotten from the fight on his left cheek.
“Yes, your father and I have decided that we can’t make you guys live in solitude for all of your childhood, so we agreed to take you out into the city some more. However, because of your behaviour, you should expect to not be going anywhere for a week.”
Leia nodded in understanding, but she couldn’t help but smile.
“You’ve actually decided that mum?” She asked.
You chuckled and raised your arms to invite your two children into a hug. They both giggled and practically jumped into your arms, making you fall back a bit.
“I love you mom!” They both said at the same time.
“Hey! How about me? I saved your friend and got your ‘attempt captors’ put into custody!” Anakin said with a fake frown on his face.
“Yeah, thank you father.” Leia said with a genuine smile plastered across her face. Anakin also smiled and joined the group hug.
The Skywalker family was happy and safe once again.
p2 of “general Kenobi” idea: obi’s ghost comes in when Luke and reader are kissing(? up to you, they could just be cuddling! whatever you’re comfortable with). And just gives them a pep-talk about attachments / dark side tendencies co-related to relationships. Fluff with angst :)
Careful not to get caught, you grab Luke's hand and drag him with you as soon as the debriefing of another succesful mission is over, leading the way to the meditation chamber which Leia had specifically set up on the rebel base. A place where you can fully surrender and become one with the Force.
It has become a tradition for Luke and you to spend your time there. When he is by your side, you feel the Force so much more intensely.
On the mission you promised each other that you would meditate as soon as you got back, just to calm down and rest for a bit, your minds somehow connecting.
Along the way to the chamber, you keep exchanging little gestures of love, kissing or teasing each other, laughing and enjoying each other's company. The presence of another soul has never felt so good as it does with Luke. From your very first encounter, you sensed that there was a deeper connection between the two of you and, as it turned out later, you were right.
Your love is so strong it can overcome even the darkest of times.
Arriving in front of the meditation chamber, Luke stops abruptly, pulling you closer, and kisses you on the lips another time. As if he just can't let you go. Which he, in fact, can't, because the way you feel about him perfectly mirrors the way he feels about you.
You deepen the innocent kiss with a smile, pushing yourself against him, but immediately pull back, startled, when the door to the chamber suddenly opens and a blue glow greets you. Your father, in all his Force ghost glory, stands in front of you now, one eyebrow raised as he looks between you and Luke.
A little embarrassed, you move away from Luke completely, your hands intertwined for a moment longer before you sever that connection as well.
"Dad, w-what are you doing here?", you ask, puzzled, because he does not usually just appear out of the blue. There is always a reason and the current one is not yet fully clear to you.
"I need to talk to you about something", he says earnestly, and your pulse immediately increases. Luke, not sure how to interpret Obi-Wan's behaviour either, looks at you, probably sensing the change of emotion. When your father turns around, motioning for you to follow him without using words, you do just that. Inside, he sits down on one of the meditation pads, and you follow him suit, now sitting across from him.
"So..?", you urge him on since he does not say anything even after several seconds have passed and his face shows a deep frown, a sign that something is troubling him. And when Obi-Wan Kenobi is worried about something, it is usually not a good sign. Not at all.
"As you know", your father finally begins with a sigh, but does not look at either of you, just rubbing his hands together. "I gave you my blessing. For your- For your relationship, I mean. I know you have a deep connection with each other and your feelings are genuine and I am here to fully support that."
Not knowing where this conversation is headed, you look over at Luke, who looks at your father in both confusion and admiration. Neither of you expected this topic, that much is clear.
"Luke, I have never seen my daughter happier. And for that, and for so much more actually, I am infinitely grateful", Obi-Wan explains, now looking directly at Luke with a forced smile. "But I just can't help thinking about your father, Luke, and what love did to him."
His words struck like lightning and neither of you say anything, your mind too busy processing your father's concern and what he is hinting at. Luke, however, does not need any time.
"What love did to him? Love almost saved him when nothing else could", Luke replies, sadness and anger mixing in his voice.
"Love is what got him to the point that he needed saving in the first place", Obi-Wan adds and you can feel the sorrow that comes with saying the words out loud. "Anakin's love for your mother turned into something far more dangerous: attachment. Because when you are attached to someone, then you are inable to let go of them. All you want to do is possess and control them, but he forgot that, in the end, they have their own fate."
"That is not true! He loved her so much he would have done anything for her to live and when that didn't work out, he changed", Luke replies, his eyes filling with tears, his hand clenched into a fist at his side. Suddenly, your own eyes feel glassy too.
"And that is exactly the problem, Luke. Don't you see it? Your father would have burned the whole galaxy down for her and only that is how the dark side was able to seduce him. Palpatine would never have been able to corrupt him otherwise", your father continues, and if you did not know better, it seems like it pains him just as much as Luke, if not worse. "You can love people and protect them but you have to be able to let them go."
"Did you.. Did you let Mom go back then?", your voice suddenly interrupts, but you do not even know how those words made it out of your mouth. Especially in one piece as a tear finds its way down your cheek, followed by a sob.
Apparently, your father did not expect such a question either, because the pain that you thought you could see on his face when talking about his brother suddenly worsened.
He never liked talking about your mother, let alone her death, but when you see him sitting in front of you right now, his head hung low, completely devastated, you wish he were sitting there in his physical form so you could hold him tight in your arms. You can't even remember how it felt to hug him.
"Yes", is all he gets past the lump in his throat with a heavy heart, and when your eyes meet, you feel a terrible pain in your heart. Although he let her go, he was not able to save her in the end.
But he had you and his love for you dissolved all negativity, all bad thoughts, the dark side.
"All I'm asking of you is to not do the same mistakes", your father says in a slightly clearer voice, turning back to Luke. "Please. When the time comes, let her go."
Obi-Wan, You Are My Father {Obi-Wan Kenobi}
Tumblr media
Plot: When trying to rescue the young Princess Leia, Obi-Wan finds a woman claiming to be his daughter.
Character: Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader
Requested by @gatefleet: I hope you like it! :) x
Your hands found that oh so familiar photograph that you kept tucked in your jacket pocket at all times. It was the only photo you had of your father, a grainy slightly blurred photograph of him and your mother. You barely knew anything about your father, your mother never shared much. She always told you that he was off on a far away planet helping others and that was it. You didn't know his name or what he sounded like, you didn't know what height he was or what his personality was like. It always felt like a part of you was missing, a part of you longing to know where you came from and who your father was. Your thumb brushed over his smile before you pocketed the photo and set about your day.
The day was anything but exciting. It was the normal schedule; go to work, have lunch, finish your shift, come home, make dinner for you and your mother and then sleep. It was a mundane life but it was your life. It started smooth, you arrived to work early getting a head start on the cleaning and tidying when all of a sudden a dark presence burst into your shop.
"Oh sorry, we're not open ye-" Your words got caught in your throat as you saw the Grand Inquisitor striding into your small shop with two of his men, "C-Can I help you?" Nerves bubbled in your stomach, you had nothing to hide but they had a very ominous presence.
The Grand Inquisitor cleared his throat, "We are searching for a highly skilled, highly dangerous Jedi... You don't happen to know of their whereabouts, do you?"
You shook your head, "I didn't know there were any Jedi left so no, I don't."
He eyed you curiously before tutting, "Shame. If you see any strange behaviour, I have my officers posted every few blocks."
They were about to turn to leave when you said, "If you have a photograph or something I might be able to hang it in the window?"
He paused, pulling something from his pocket before sliding it across the table to you face down, "Do get one of my guards if you see anything."
You had been about to lift the paper when they'd left and in walked a customer, "Are you open?" The older woman asked.
"I-" you weren't, you'd be open in twenty five minutes but she was already here so you sighed, "Yeah, sure. Come on in."
It was around an hour later when you'd finished serving a customer that you'd accidentally caused the piece of paper to fall off of the counter, "Oh here you go," the man said, picking it up for you, "Oh that's the missing Jedi. I hear he'd evaded capture for decades."
"Decades, huh?" You asked, raising your eyebrows as you took the paper from him. The man turned and left leaving the shop empty. It was then that you finally looked at it and you gasped. Staring back up at you was a picture of the man your mother swore was your father.
Obi-Wan Kenobi.
You hadn't heard the name before. Your mother told you that his name was a secret which aligned with him evading the Empire, his name would've had to be a secret. He looked older in this picture, of course he did it had been twenty years since they other photo was taken, but in your mind you'd kept him ageless and now here he was, with frown lines and eyebags. It threw you off, making you feel an emotion that you couldn't place. You weren't sad, you weren't scared and you weren't nervous and yet you were all three at the same time.
Did that mean that your father - this Obi-Wan Kenobi - was in your town? You could only presume so. Quickly you gathered your belongings and headed out of the shop, placing a 'BACK SOON' sign on the door before locking it. This was your one chance to see him, to meet him. The city was littered with Stormtroopers. It was unnerving to see so many of them with so many weapons. Your father was a wanted man but you were going to find him first before anyone else did. All you knew about him was that he was a Jedi, did that mean that you had Jedi powers? You weren't sure, you'd surely find out.
If I was a wanted Jedi, where would I hide?
You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. You didn't know what you were doing but you thought that it was worth a try. You focussed, listening to the hustle and bustle of the city, before your head turned to the left and you were staring down a long dark alleyway, "I'd go the back route," you whispered.
Making sure that no one saw you, you slid down the alleyway as quietly as you could. At the end of the alley, it branched in two directions. Something burned inside of you telling you to go left and then up? You found a ladder attached to one of the backs of the buildings and you began to climb. Heights wasn't something you really enjoyed but right now you didn't care.
As you climbed over the last rung of the ladder, a flash of green swung by you and you narrowly avoided it with a squeal, "I just want to talk!" You held your hands up as you stared into the face of your father, "I-I just want to talk, I promise!"
"Who are you?" His voice was cold.
"I'm not the enemy, I swear. I just want to talk to you-"
"How did you find me?"
"I... I don't really know to be honest."
He frowned at you, "Why do you want to talk to me?"
"I-I think that you're my father." Your voice was quiet and your heart hammered in your chest as you said it. He pulled a face, one of 'what on earth is going on'.
"I do not have time for this. Whatever you want, you cannot have. I simply do not have time." He swatted the air with his hand, "Whatever ploy this was is stupid." He went to step down the ladder when you cut him off.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi," your voice was loud, not loud enough to alert any guards or anyone but loud enough to stop him dead in his tracks, "you are my father."
He turned to you, frowning deeply, and was about to dismiss your claim when he noticed you were holding a photo; the photo that had been taken twenty some years ago... The photo of your mother and father. He stepped away from the ladder, frowning at the photo.
"How did you get this?" He asked, hand instinctively moving to his hip where his saber sat, "Did Anakin send you?"
"Who's Anakin?" You asked confused, "I am not the enemy here, I'm just a girl wanting to know where she came from." He eyed you curiously, almost waiting for you to pull out a blaster and shoot him. Life hadn't been kind to him, you could see that his eyes were sad and haunted. He didn't speak so you continued, "I got this photo from my mother. Do you know who that is?" You point to your younger mother.
He nods, "Yes. I do." He stepped closer, hand still hovering over his saber, but he moved closer to peer at the photograph as he drank it in. He'd almost forgotten about those days, they seemed to happen so long ago. It was almost like he was looking at a ghost of himself, he barely recognised that young man in the pictures now.
"That is my mother," you said quietly, tapping next to her face, "and that is you."
"But-" he looked to you, "it cannot be. When I left..."
"You left when she was one month gone, she wouldn't have been showing then. She told me she didn't find out that she was pregnant until she was three months gone and then it was too late to contact you, she had no idea of your real name... of where you were."
He stared at you and then at the photo and then back at you as the cogs in his head turned. Could it really be? He lifted his head to look at you as though trying to scan for similarities between you and him, "You have your mother's eyes," he said softly.
"And my father's smile, she always told me."
Obi-Wan smiles, "How did she know that I am your- that you are my-" he couldn't quite finish the thought, still in disbelief.
"She said that she never loved a man again. It was you, just you, no one else." You smiled sadly, "I always caught her late at night staring out at the stars and I knew that she was searching for you, hoping that you'd return to her someday."
"Your mother, is she..?"
"Passed on a year ago."
"Oh." His eyes were misty, full of tears as he stared at the photo. The memories flooded back to him, her touch, her love... "Had I known- Had I known that she was with child, I would've- I wouldn't have left." He was being sincere, he wouldn't have left her; he would've stayed.
"Why did you leave?" You asked.
"That other bit of paper in your hand," he gestured to your left hand which held the scrunched up missing person poster, "I am an enemy of the Empire. They've searched for decades for me and they are continuing to do so." An explosion was heard from the town centre, "They will continue to destroy the city if they do not find me." He turned to you, hand reaching out to take yours before he thought better and snatched his hand away, "You must leave here. Pack up your things and go far away, head East."
"Where will you go?" You ask, voice concerned, "What kind of life is it to be on the run?"
"A dangerous one," he frowned, "I have to find my friend and then I'm getting her home. You must do as I say, it's not safe here anymore... If they found out that you are my- that you're my daughter, they'd kill you. Flee." He glanced back at the city, "I have to go."
"Take me with you!" It was a desperate sort of plea that came from your mouth. You didn't even think about saying it until it was already out in the air. Obi-Wan's mouth opened and then shut so you continued, "I have no purpose here. My mother is dead," he winced, "I have no ties to this planet I call home."
"It is too dangerous." He shook his head, turning away, "I must go."
"Father please!" Tears well in your eyes as you beg him, "Do not leave me here to die like she did. Teach me how to protect myself, teach me how to help you... Take me with you. You're the only family I have." He closed his eyes and breathed, slow and deep. He was torn; torn between leaving you, his only kin, and taking you and potentially risking your life. You seemed to read his thoughts, "My life is in danger either way. I stay here, they might find out and kill me. I go, they might find me and kill me. Either way there will always be danger."
After a painfully long minute, he turned to you and nodded, "Okay," he sighed, "You can come with me but we have to hurry..." He frowned. He didn't know your name yet, "It just occurred to me that I do not know your name."
"(y/n)," you supplied softly, "My name is (y/n)."
He smiled, "Your mother and I spoke about our favourite names for if we ever had children... Your name is the one I picked." He stuck his hand out, shaking yours, "Well, (y/n), I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi and it appears that I am your father."
Wahoo!! I was so excited for this event (:< Pairing : Cody x Obi-Wan prompts: "I feel your absence in everything that I do alone, in every place I go without you" and "it was inevitable but I regretted it every step of the way" creature: force ghost Obi-Wan here is a little snippet of the fic, but u can read the whole thing over on my ao3 by clicking this link
It was as if time itself had stopped. CC-2224 stood frozen, his eyes fixed on the impossible apparition in front of him. The smile lines on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s face had deepened over the years, a stark contrast to CC-2224’s unchanging face. Once upon a time, he too would have grown old, but the empire had taken many things from him. This had included his ability to die of old age, it seemed. CC-2224 had simply stopped aging, doomed to an eternity of servitude in the Empire.
Hello there, my dear, Obi-Wan’s voice sounded impossibly clear. Despite the blue glow that surrounded him, CC-2224 felt that he could reach out and actually touch the former General. That if he touched him, he would feel the warmth of his skin.
Except Obi-Wan Kenobi was dead. Darth Vader had seen to it himself this time; there would be no room for failure. No room for CC-2224 to kark up and let the traitor go again.
Even then, all those years ago on Utapau, CC-2224 had known that he hadn’t truly killed General Kenobi. He had send a probe droid to check, but they had found no corpse. He had wanted to go down to investigate, search the site for Kenobi’s corpse, but another voice deep inside had stopped him. He had walked away from the planet and had reported that General Kenobi was dead. His programming shouldn’t have allowed such a slip up. He should have told the Emperor that he had carried out the order, but that no confirmation of a body had been found.
That failure, the guilt of not being a good soldier, it had followed CC-2224 wherever he went. It crept up whenever he least expected it. A voice as dark as night gripped him when he slept, whispering that it knew of his failure. The voice whispered that it knew of his treachery. The shame and the fear that dripped down his back hot and wet, it had CC-2224 constantly glancing over his shoulder. Some days CC-2224 was certain that it was written all over his face that he had lied.
The thing in his brain had tried to get CC-2224 to go down to maintenance. To admit that he was faulty. Something else, something much more human than CC-2224 himself could ever be had told him to shut up.
In the end it hadn’t mattered. Obi-Wan Kenobi had refused to hide. When the daughter of imperial senator Bail Organa was taken, Obi-Wan Kenobi rose from the dark. When the news reached Darth Vader, and by extension CC-2224, something had broken deep within him. When they took CC-2224 to maintenance for failing to report he had never truly killed the traitor, they had had to drag him there. He had fought to get free, had bitten off the ear of one of the tech labs. The fighting only worsened the punishment and for his insubordination CC-2224 had one of his limbs taken from him.
Late at night CC-2224 would stare at the ceiling as hot white pain shot through where his arm had once been. Now, in its place, there was a shiny black prosthetic; a robotic arm that did not register pain signals. CC-2224 still felt the pain anyway.
~
Time itself comes to a standstill as we look upon one another but despite the years, despite going to Tatooine to hunt him down... nothing could have prepared me for this.
"You know why I have come," he tells me, his voice the only thing about him I recognise.
"You should be dead," I say, hand wrapped around the hilt of my saber.
"I should be after you left me for dead," he replies and I feel it, the anger, the betrayal that he should have seen coming. "But you never could do it could you?"
"Neither could you," I remind him, and despite every piece of reason in my head screaming otherwise, I feel safe in that security that he could never bring himself to ever truly hurt me, he just stood by as others did. "You don't scare me Boba."
Something in him almost softens, but only for a moment. "It is not fear I want to provoke, not anymore."
His words catch me off guard and leave me almost confused by the change of heart I feel in him, but I ignore it for the sake of self preservation.
"You look older," he says, as if we were meeting under normal circumstances.
"You look like shit," I tell him, trying to bite back the true horror at what I did to him.
"Getting struck down and devoured by a sarlaac does that," he says and gets to business as if we're negotiating in a messy divorce but there is little else that could be used to describe Boba and I. "I want my armour back."
"I want lots of things back, things you took from me," I tell him, Din emerging from cover with his blaster drawn since negotiations have been established. "But life isn't fair, is it?"
I eye the carved wooden weapons he has at his back, weapons I recognise as belonging to the sand people of Tatooine but it is surprisingly not violence he negotiates with.
"I have brought you a peace offering."
"A peace offering?" I repeat and actually laugh, feeling Din's alarm at the sound. "The only peace offering I would accept is Vader's head and unfortunately that is ashes on Endor."
Looking at him now I wonder what he knows if he's lived in isolation on Tatooine because he looks surprised by my revelation. "So you killed the bastard then?"
Now I'm the one in surprise as I scoff "Don't act like you wanted him dead."
"Of course I wanted him dead," he says and takes a step closer, a step that makes Din raise his blaster. "I'm not after you Mandalorian."
"You left me for dead," Din says and I see a look of satisfaction in Boba's eyes that stirs a new type of rage in me.
"Fair is fair," Boba says, ignoring him to speak to me. "I'd call it justice."
"Revenge you mean?"
"One and the same," he says, determined to hit every nerve he knows how. "That's what you said, isn't it princess?"
If this is how he wants to play, I'll play along perfectly.
"Yes." I take a step closer now, looking him dead in the eyes as I tell him. "It was both when I left you for dead."
"I could take revenge," he tells me, but fails to intimidate. "I certainly have enough reason to, but fortunately for you I am a changed man."
I laugh again, the type of unhinged only Boba Fett can make me after he put that madness in my brain and twisted it into what it is now. "Boba Fett? A changed man?"
He isn't amused and looks back towards his ship "I thought you may say that, so here is my peace offering. My armour for yours."
My face falls and I blink at him "What?"
He doesn't repeat himself. "You heard me."
I shake my head "My armour is on-"
"Was on Kalevala," he says and I go cold. "I'm the one who brought you there after Mandalore was destroyed remember? You took my armour from Tatooine, so I returned the favour. Still covered in blood and ashes on board my ship for the taking. You order the Mandalorian to get mine, and Fennec will get yours."
"Fennec?" Din exclaims and I look back at him in confusion until I sense an unfamiliar presence.
"You have a keen ear Mando," a woman says from up on the ridge armed with a rifle, a woman that Din certainly seems to know and I look at him, raising an eyebrow at the panic I feel from him.
"You were dead," he says and my eye goes back to Boba, able to read him in one glance and I should have known he'd never come to face me without an extra gun.
"I believe it is time for introductions," Boba says while I shake my head at him in warning. "Meet Fennec Shand, a sharpshooter I've brought to ensure this transaction goes smoothly."
"Fuck you," I say and order "Din if she moves kill her."
"So it's going to be that way then," Boba says, almost disappointed. "Alright then, your lover pulls that trigger and she'll unload onto that kid she's locked onto."
And there he is, the Boba Fett I know.
"You wouldn't dare," I breathe.
"I think we both know I would," he says but I know the kid is quite safe. "There does not have to be violence."
"Say the word and he's dead," Din says from behind me, both of us knowing the kid is safe behind that shield.
"This is between her and I Mandalorian," Boba says, he knows his targets, he would know damn well the reputation Din has. "You shoot, Fennec shoots." He looks back at me now. "Your little green friend as quite the bounty on his head."
With those words, all decency is off the table.
"If you think you're going to come here to take my son away-"
"He's a little green to be yours," he says and a chill runs through my bones as he dares to say "But a son for a son seems fair to me."
Din reaches for me as I march forward but holds his position with his blaster trained on Fennec as I slap Boba hard, tears of rage burning in my eyes as I whisper "I hate you."
"I know you do princess," he says, his face may be barely recognisable but his eyes... the same damn eyes. "I'm not here to hurt you."
But I know him better than that.
"I don't believe you," I breathe and the moment my saber is at his neck his finger is on the trigger of his blaster. My match. My perfect adversary. "I will never believe a word you say again."
Still he insists "All I want is my armour."
"Liar," I say, searching his eyes. "You've followed me halfway across the galaxy for one thing only."
He entertains me. "And what's that princess?"
I can't bring myself to say it with Din standing so close but Boba knows. He always knows.
"Revenge," I say, if only to stir something else in his heart that is more bearable for me to feel. "For me."
I'm trembling as he touches my cheek with the barrel of his blaster, but not from fear, anything but fear, and I feel pure horror from Din that I haven't killed him for that simple touch alone.
"I did come for you," he tells me and I don't inch away from him as he leans closer as if nobody else is standing here. "On Tatooine I came for you, but not to harm you."
"Liar," I say again, fighting what I know is the truth. "Why else would you come if not for revenge?"
"I came to help you," he says, the coldness of his blaster on my cheek keeping me still as he asks "Do you really think I'd let you face an Imperial attack alone?"
I feel Din watching with a primal anger I've never felt from him and remind Boba "I wasn't alone and you left him there to die."
"If I didn't kill him he would have killed me," he argues, as if leaving him bleeding out for me to find was only a minor complication. "And I wasn't the one with the shiny beskar."
"No, you aren't," I say, finding a sick pleasure in taking from him the one thing he loves. "Because I have yours and once I put you back in the ground where you belong I'll melt it down and add it to my collection of trophies. Right beside Maul's saber on Kalevala."
He ignores my threat to tell me "You're the only one who wants violence little one."
"I don't believe you."
"Kill me then," he says, calling my bluff. "We both know you can't do it."
A darkness settles over me, the same darkness that led to me being charged as a war criminal. "You have no idea what I am capable of."
"Then do it. Kill me. Do what you couldn't do on Tatooine." The heat of my saber at his neck does little to scare him as he taunts "Or have you started calling yourself a Jedi again?" My hand grips the hilt of my saber tight knowing one flick of my wrist is all it would take. "I remember when your daddy came to kill mine, but he couldn't do it either."
I blink at him in bewilderment "What?"
"I remember shooting at your father myself," he tells me, words he never has before, and I go cold as his own memories flash before my eyes. Cold rain and shots fired upon my father only to end in the flash of a purple saber and a beskar helmet rolling on coarse ground. "He was no match for a Mandalorian."
"Then how come he lived while yours lost his head," I hiss and he grabs me by my hair, holding me by the scalp with his blaster to my head. "Too soon?"
"Let her go!" Din orders, firing a warning shot only for Fennec to fire one back at Din and I smirk at the look of unbridled rage in Boba's eyes, living for the thrill of hitting him where it hurts. "Let her go or I drop you and Fennec!"
"This is between us," I tell Din, smiling as I taunt "I should have aimed for your neck, let your head roll in the sand just like your donors."
With those words he bares my throat, my hair in his fist as he brings his blaster from my head down to my stomach, knowing just where to hit me, but nothing can ever hurt me more than he already has. "You've become a cruel woman."
"Do you think I'm still that nineteen year old girl who cried and begged for you Boba?" I ask him and laugh again at the pain shooting through him, wanting him to suffer as I have. "You killed her that day on Cloud City. There's nothing left you can do to hurt me now."
"I can kill the kid," he threatens. "Like you killed our son."
"Our son?" I repeat numbly and feel Din's own horror as I tell him. "You mean the bloody tissue that was left on the floor of that cell after Vader tortured it out of me?" Boba's eyes go utterly cold now, finally realising it was not my doing. "It's for the better because I was never going to have any child of yours after what you did to me."
"Kyra," he begins, the emotion in his voice making me wince but I'm past apologies.
"It's too late for remorse Boba," I tell him, having no pity left for him and dig the knife deeper. "Everything you blamed me for is your own doing. Every betrayal you believed, none of it was ever real. It was all Vader screwing with your head like he did mine."
Finally after all these years I find myself absolved of my own guilt and see the horror in his eyes as he realises I never betrayed him and that the death of our love is his blood to bear.
His voice is uneven now "If I knew-"
"You would have what? Struck Vader down?" I ask as I push him off me and he doesn't try to push me back. "You were too weak."
"Says the one who's too weak to strike me down now," he says, but the fight is gone from his voice and filled with a quiet ache before he resorts to the one thing he can still hate me for. "Just like your father was."
I raise an eyebrow "You think I'm weak because I'm a Jedi?"
"I know you are."
I give a nod and turn my back on him, walking back towards Din as I raise my hand to choke the sniper up on the ridge and watch her reach for her throat as Boba finally panics.
"Stop that!"
"No," I answer before channelling the strength of the force here and throwing her off the ledge into a nearby rockface. Din and Boba both jump back as she groans on the ground and I use the force to pull her rifle to me, handing it to Din as I return to his side.
"Kyra," Din says quietly as he takes the rifle. "I owe Fennec, she is not our enemy."
"Well he is," I reply and turn back to Boba. "I don't care what you've become, I don't care if you're sorry, not when I have to live with the consequences of what you did."
Boba looks at Fennec, finally realising just what his betrayal led me to become. "I thought you were above that."
"I was, but not after what Vader did to me," I say and I see the look of disbelief in his eye before his hand goes to his throat and that cold rage burns as I hold it tight. "Do you think I'm not capable of the things he was?"
"Then do it," he says, my fist closing around his throat. "If it's revenge you want take it, I won't stop you."
"Only one of us is leaving this planet alive," I tell him, even if every moral my father instilled in me screams against killing a man who is not fighting.
"Then why haven't you killed me yet?" he asks but just as I step forward with my saber in hand I feel it and realise the true enemy that's followed me isn't Boba Fett.
It's the Empire.
Slowly I turn my head back towards Boba, the memory of betrayal haunting me now and my saber hand's shaking as he puts his hands up "I didn't-"
Without warning I throw him to the ground and my saber is at his neck as I curse "You fucking traitor."
He knows there is nothing he could say for me to believe him and instead tells me "It's time to put your armour back on princess, we're in for a fight."
I look up at Din who stands there watching the Imperial ships entering the atmosphere "Kyra the kid-"
"The kid is safe," I promise Din and withdraw my saber and abandon Boba on the ground to go to him. "If it's Gideon we have the advantage you hear me?"
"How?" he asks me. "It's the two of us against the Empire."
I look back at Boba on the ground and Fennec getting to her feet, if they didn't bring them here then they'll have no hesitation killing them. "No, it's not." I take his helmet in my hands as I tell him "We fight, the child is as safe as he can be up on that stone. Get your weapons, we aren't running."
"This is the way," he says and a shadow of a smile plays at my lips.
"This is the way."
I let him go with a press of my lips to his beskar cheek knowing damn well Boba's watching and march to his ship to get my armour. I navigate the familiar interior quickly to get to the storage compartment and much to my equal surprise and satisfaction find my biometric fingerprint still logged and draw a sharp breath as the compartment opens.
My armour as promised sits there, painted blood red and still coated in the ashes of Mandalore.
For just a moment I still feel the rubble crushing me, I can still see the bodies of my people turned to dust after the bombing. I can still feel the ash in my lungs as my hand reached out through the rubble, red with radiation burns. I wanted to die and yet I couldn't help but fight for my life as the darkness closed in on me.
I can still feel Boba taking my hand and pulling me out.
The sound of gunshots pulls me back and I take the painted beskar forged for my body, a lightweight unconventional design perfect for a Jedi. It's all muscle memory as I arm myself with it, the slimline armoured top that wraps around my collarbones leaving my arms bare, the red arm bands in substitute of pauldrons for the sake of mobility, my left bearing the symbol of the Jedi and the right my family's crest. The gauntlets attached to my fingerless red sleeves more lightweight than the typical Mandalorian's, the same with the rest of my armour. Boba brought all of it, not just the beskar but the rest of it I couldn't bear to touch after I'd stripped it from my body and so I make quick work of it, discarding my of Jedi styled clothes in favour of my complete armour since I doubt I'll get another chance to retake it.
Finally I hold the helmet in my hand and for the first time since the purge put it on and ready myself, transferring my saber to my armours utility belt that's still armed with my old blaster and make sure to put the kids ball in one of the pockets.
It feels right as I step out of the ship looking through a visor and raise my blaster to take out the nearby stormtroopers and feel Din's head snaps towards me at the sound of the shots and I can feel it, awe, and then I feel the fear of the stormtroopers as I ignite my saber.
They all come to a halt with their guns raised at me, shaking in their armour as I tilt my head to the side and the moment I raise my hand they're running back to their ship, the landing platform still lowered as they try to retreat and with a single hand, feeling the strength of the force more than I have in years, I bring the ship to a halt as they try to lift off. It's as I tap into the true richness of the force here on Tython I realise indeed the stories are true and I throw the ship into a nearby cliff face with a strength I've never wielded before.
The wreckage hits the ground with injured troopers straining for their weapons and I look back to see Boba and Din both standing there in a state of awe.
"Kill them!" I order and they quickly jump into action, gunning down the troopers on board the wreckage and I move past the bodies to get to the remains of the cockpit, still intact enough for me to make contact with their commander and know in my gut who it is.
"This is Kyra Kryze," I say, ready to take him out. "You're troopers are dead Gideon."
"That may be, but not even you and your bounty hunters can save the child from me," he says and I hear Din yelling for me.
"Kyra!"
I emerge to see three more ships lowering onto the planet and just as I raise my hand I hear rockets, but not from the ship. I look back to see Boba standing there in his own armour now and watch as his rocket hits one of the ships which crashes down into the other, both burning wreckage now in the sky.
I feel Din's hand on my arm, tasting the bitterness in my mouth as I look at Boba and know he didn't bring the Empire here.
"See princess, I did tell you," Boba says and I could kill him for the I told you so alone.
"And like I told you, I'm not weak," I spit at him and then realise that was his intention all along, to rile me up.
"You never were," he says and frustrated I look away from him back to Din who stands behind me with a gentle hand holding me in place, maker knows the only thing giving me peace right now.
"What's the plan general?" Din asks me, Boba and Fennec listening as I look at the final ship landing, but my gut tells me there are far more where it came from and we need to take them out.
"Kill them, no matter how many waves come we eliminate them," I decide, knowing the child is safe up on that rock. "If we don't Gideon will just send them after us again."
"Gideon?" Boba repeats, having missed that part when he was attacking Din. "Moff Gideon? I thought he was dead."
"So did we but you'd know that if you were actually helping me on Tatooine instead of stabbing someone," I retort and feel Din squeeze my arm to bring my back, knowing I need to be focused right now, and ask him "On Navarro what type of strength did he have?"
"Enough that he almost killed all of us," he answers and tells me "We aren't making it out unscathed."
"Retreatings no good if he can take us out with his ship, we're better to hold defensive positions until an opportunity presents itself," I say as Fennec reloads her rifle, remembering the Hoth situation. "We don't know what type of resources he's got and I'm not risking putting the kid in his sights."
"Call for backup?" Din asks knowing the connections I've got but none that can get here in time.
"We are the backup," Boba says and reminds me "We've faced worse than a few stormtroopers princess."
"This isn't right," I say, my gut screaming it at me. "It's too easy, if Gideon knows you're here he'd be sending more firepower than this."
It would be why Gideon waited so long to attack, Boba Fett would be one of the few people in this galaxy he would fear and rightfully so, which makes no sense he's sending mere ships of troopers against two of the most capable killers in the galaxy.
"Then let's take them out," Boba says as the ship lands and the four of us stand there ready to fight as the landing platform lowers and I tilt my head at the black of their armour.
Death troopers.
And there it is.
"Take cover," I order before they open fire and each and every movement of my saber is muscle memory led by the force, my father having been relentless in this particular training after the Clones wiped out most of the Jedi in order 66. He wasn't going to let me fall to a group of troopers with blasters.
Their armour is resistant enough the blasts reflected back don't kill them and hear their commander order "Kill the Jedi!"
And so I use the force to leap over head just as they roll grenades my way and cut through three troopers from behind as Din, Boba and Fennec fire on them from defensive positions but it's then as I look up to the stone my blood runs cold realising this is just a distraction.
Troopers unlike any I've ever seen descend towards the stone and just as I run forward I'm thrown to the ground by a missile that blows the Razor Crest to ashes.
My ears ring as I take in the burning wreckage and feel Din pulling me to my feet, covering me from the Death Troopers fire as he pulls me back behind cover, checking me over to make sure I'm alright before quaking "The kid-"
"I've got him, cover me," I tell him and use my jetpack for the first time in years as I take off dodging the heavy fire from the Death Troopers to get to the stone only to begin losing altitude halfway as the broken down fuel runs out and I hit the ground running, reaching the stone at the same moment they do and I'm met with an onslaught from blaster cannons that I fight through only for the force shield to come down.
"No!" I yell out as I'm thrown into one of the pillars with a force I've never felt before by one of the troopers and get to my feet only to be faced with six of them, big hulking forces of metal standing between me and the child who looks at me with fear in his eyes.
They fire upon me, no doubt with programmed orders from Gideon to eliminate me personally. Reflecting the heavy fire I cut through the chest of the one who threw me and cut down the next through the middle only to be grabbed by the throat with a crushing pressure by another and raised up to see the child being taken and kick my feet against the troopers face, severing the hand holding my throat before cutting through its neck along with anothers before driving my saber through the chest of the fifth.
I rebound off the ground as the final trooper lifts off with the child and I swear I can hear Din calling my name, but just as I go to jump from the stone to take down the final trooper I see it far too late, the burning missile locked right onto me, and in the second before it impacts I raise my saber in a pure final instinct and there's a flash of blue.
Then nothing.
~
Din
The moment the missile enters the atmosphere I've abandoned my defensive position to run to her as if I have a chance in hell of making it there, there's flashes of yellow as she cuts through the troopers and I'm screaming her name into an empty void and she looks up the moment before it impacts. There's a flash of blue as the forceshield ignites only for the missile to blow the stone temple to nothing not even a second later.
The explosion causes me to fall back and I'm on my knees as I look up at the smouldering ruins, the world itself coming to a standstill as I grasp my blaster between my fingers, in one single moment my entire world gone.
So many moments I'd accepted my own death and I was never afraid, but that was until her and the child came along and suddenly I had everything to lose.
And now I've lost just that, my child, my riduur, my everything.
That is until I feel Boba Fett pulling me to my feet telling me "She's hard to kill, get up there and I'll follow the bastards."
"Come on," Fennec says pulling me along as if there would even be anything left of her after what that same missile did to the Razor Crest. "He'll follow the trooper, she's a Jedi isn't she?" Numbly I nod as she forces me to walk. "Then there's a chance."
"The kid-"
"He's following the kid," she repeats as we make our way up the mountain. "You can't save him but there's still a chance for her."
I'm sick to my stomach at the thought of what I'll find, her body blown to pieces or nothing at all, but as my weak knees take me up the hill they all but give out at the sight of her red figure face down in the ruins and I run forward, dropping to my knees as I take her in my arms.
"Kyra?" I quake as I hold her limp body, armour blackened from the impact and skin scorched but it's as I pull her helmet off and find blood running from her ears and nose I can't breathe. "Cyar'ika?"
Despite the heat radiating from the burns her body's cold, my thermal imaging unable to get a clear reading with the injuries and I'm cradling her head in my hand as I check her vital signs,  finding a pulse, drawing a shaking breath as I feel it beneath my fingers. She should be ashes, but I've seen the child perform even greater miracles than this.
"Boba's on their tail," Fennec tells me. "He's locked onto the trooper."
"No!" I panic, stammering. "I don't want the child hurt!"
They're both alive, but they won't be for long.
"Abort pursuit, disengage!" Fennec orders. "Do not harm the child."
"Copy, I'll do a loose follow, see where they're headed." There's a pause before he asks "Is she alive?"
"Mando," Fennec says, unable to quite look at us as she asks "Is she alive?" I give a single weak nod and she confirms "She's alive but barely. Burns covering her body from the blast and severe head trauma, unconscious."
I'd never been truly afraid until right now as I hold her limp body in my arms, appearing dead in every way except for the slight pulse beneath my fingers and the slow rise and fall of her chest beneath the beskar but it's not strong enough.
The child is gone, I can't lose her with him.
"I can't do this alone," I tell her in Mando'a. I'd promised that I'd never let the Empire hurt her again and I broke that promise. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I failed you. I failed both of you."
Her red hair is between my fingers, warmth seeping from her skull as I clutch her body to mine, trying to convince myself she's still alive, that she still has a chance.
"They're back," I hear Fett say over the com as I listen for her breath but can barely find it.
"Who?" Fennec asks as she comes over, kneeling down to take a look at her.
"The Empire," he answers, telling her what I already know. "They're back."
"That can't be, the Empire is under the jurisdiction of the New Republic."
"This isn't a spice dream, I can see the Imperial cruiser with my own eyes."
The issue of a few rogue warlords is entirely different to an armed and operational Imperial Cruiser. For a moment I hope that revelation would be enough to wake her up, but she's still out cold in my arms.
"Fennec she needs help," I say quickly, unable to keep my voice from breaking.
"Boba doesn't have any plans on letting her die," Fennec says and I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse as she speaks into the com. "Get back down here, she needs medical treatment."
"I'm coming down."
"Come on," Fennec says and I lift her up, taking care to keep her head still and Fennec takes her helmet as we descend back down the mountain with only one way off this planet.
Despite the desperation I've heard enough to not trust him, knowing he turned her over to the Empire once before and I'll die before letting it happen again and when we approach his ship and he takes a step towards her I draw my blaster on him from beneath her legs "Touch her and you're dead."
"She isn't dead yet but she will be and if you kill me and try to steal my ship you won't get very far without my biometrics," he says, having anticipated this. "Do you want her to die?"
"She'd rather die before being given to the Empire," I say, knowing she'd never forgive me if I let Gideon get his hands on her. "And I'll die before letting them harm her."
"I didn't dig her out of the damn rubble on Mandalore to watch her die now," he mutters and my blaster hand shakes as he marches forward and puts a hand on her head, I only allow it when I see how his shakes as much as mine. "She needs a bacta tank."
"It's the outer rims," Fennec says. "Where-"
"I know a place," Fett says and speaks to me. "Something tells me neither of us are getting past the outer rims without being arrested by the New Republic. I can take her somewhere she'll be safe."
"Where?"
"Cloud city," he says, the name only vague to me. "Run by one of her rebel friends, Calrissian."
I look down at her knowing we don't have any time for questions but I still can't trust Boba Fett "You try anything-"
"Oh trust me she'll beat you to killing me when she wakes up when she realises where I've taken her," he assures me. "But neither of us are letting her die."
"Mando, if you want her to live you have to trust us," Fennec says and with no choice I head on board the ship, hardly even registering as Boba Fett enters with the beskar spear, all that's left of the Razor Crest.
The landing dock closes and they head into the cockpit without another word, leaving me there in the hold alone with her and it's then the chill truly settles into my bones.
Only an hour ago we were in the cockpit of the Razorcrest, watching her holding Grogu as she told us the words we'd never heard before her, that she loves us. Words I'd never heard until she came into my life and made me realise I was something that could be loved. The light of my life, the only thing that truly mattered, her and the child, I had my entire future in the palm of my hand and now it's all gone.
I feel the tears in my eyes as I cradle her head and feel the dry blood in her hair, remembering in horror that she has a family outside of the child and I, that I'll have to tell them how she died while I stood helpless.
"Come on cyar'ika," I plead with her, without her and the child there is nothing left to live for. I don't know how I ever lived without their love, a love that made me feel human for the first time since I was a child, a love I can never live without again. "Wake up, please."
But her body only grows colder, her skin blackened from the blast of the missile, wounds that a bacta tank can heal but I remember too well the head trauma that would have killed me if not for IG-11. My hand rests over her pulse, feeling it only growing weaker, her breathing slowing.
"Stay with me," I whisper, shaking as I hold her body and realise her chest is hardly rising. "Kyra?" The colour is gone from her cheeks, her skin turning a shade of grey and I'm yelling out "How long do we have left!"
Boba Fett comes down, helmetless now and looks upon her with an unreadable face "Less than an hour."
"We don't have that long," I insist. "Is there bacta-"
"The Hutts raided it for medicine and credits while I was in the Sarlacc," he answers and gives what could almost be called an attempt at assurance. "I've seen her in worse shape than this, she's tough, too stubborn to die like this that's for certain."
"Well she is dying!" I snap, slowly losing it with every missed beat of her pulse. "Isn't there anywhere closer?"
"If the Empires back then Cloud City is the only place I know for certain won't be doing business with them," he says and I look down at her. "Calrissian is a good enough man he wouldn't turn her away."
"Can you get a transmission to Leia?" I ask him knowing that she'd want her family to be there if she doesn't make it and he seems surprised by my request.
He scoffs "She's told you about that lot?"
"They're her family," I say and he just shakes his head. "They deserve to be there if she doesn't make it." It's then I remember where I'd heard of Cloud City from, Solo's transmission after we were attacked on Tatooine. "Can you contact Solo on the Millenium Falcon, he should be at Cloud City."
He looks at me more carefully now "You've met Solo and all the rest?"
"I know her family and she'd want them there," I say, unable to understand the questions and having no patience for them. "Can you contact them or not?"
He's silent for a moment in contemplation before saying "It's best I don't or they'll try to shoot me down."
I stare at him now incredulously at how he can be thinking about himself right now "Not if they know she's on board."
"Let's just say Solo and I have some history and they won't believe she let me live long enough to be in this situation," he says and despite my desperation I can't blame them if they know what I do. "We'll be there soon, I don't know what she's told you-"
"She'd told me enough," I say sharply, not caring for conversation right now.
He nods to himself before saying "We both love her Mandalorian, she isn't dying on my watch." He steps forward and I pull her closer to me, not wanting a man who hurt her and is comfortable enough laying hands on her how I just saw to touch her. "She's survived worse than this, if you've spent even a night with her you'd know that."
The mention of her nightmares has me shaking at the thoughts of just what she's endured and the revelation I learned on that damned planet, that she was pregnant with this man's child and lost it in torture due to his betrayal.
"If you loved her you wouldn't have betrayed her," I say knowing the man he is, that we aren't so dissimilar. Knowing the lives men like him and I lead and just what she is in comparison to all that bloodshed. "If you loved her you would have died before letting the Empire lay one hand on her."
"Vader promised me if I got her to become his apprentice he would spare her," he reveals to me. "The moment she landed on that planet she'd sealed her fate, I'd tried to keep her away but the moment her ship was reported I went there to protect her and struck the deal. Her precious family were about to die and I wasn't going to let her suffer the same fate."
"And so you turned her over for torture with a blaster at her back," I say remembering the words she told me and feel my own blaster beside me on the floor within reach, checking her pulse and finding it even weaker.
"I did," he says and eyes me as he says "It's clear you haven't known her very long so let me enlighten you. I'd been by her side since she was nineteen, I watched her take back Mandalore from the Empire and I watched her lose it because she was too damn stubborn to realise her precious rebellion would spit her right back out the moment they were finished with her." I'm silent now, remembering Chandrila. "And from what I've heard that's exactly what they did, charged her as a war criminal and left her to Moff Gideon on Tatooine."
My head snaps back towards him at the mention of that night "You left me for dead after beating Cobb Vanth within an inch of his life trying to find us."
"You would have done the same if you'd seen me first," he dismisses and goes on. "I've been dealing with the aftermath of her decisions for almost a decade now. She's as tough as they come but she's got a weak heart. She's pretty enough to make any man forget themselves but there's only so many times you can stop her from ruining herself in the name of being a hero. Hell I pulled her out of the ruins of Mandalore after she tried killing herself when she had to live with the consequences of her decisions. She's her own worst enemy and I'm warning you now Mandalorian no man escapes from her unscathed."
The length of their history makes me still and I begin to realise there's a reason she didn't kill him on sight and with her dying in her arms the last thing I want is to doubt where her heart lies.
"I know her past," I say stiffly, but it's never scared me until now.
"Do you?" he questions. "Are you aware you've been shacking up with a suicidal sadist who's spent her enter life pretending to be something she's not? Don't let her pretty face fool you, she's a cruel woman who let me spend five years believing she'd rid herself of our child out of pure spite before leaving me for dead."
His words do nothing but make me want to reach for my blaster "Do you love her or hate her, make up your mind."
"Love and hate, it's all the same to her as you'll come to learn," he says and I look down at her face, unable to see anything but the woman I love. "She'll want to kill me when she eventually wakes up but she won't do it. She can't. The last night together before she left me for dead she spent beating me until she turned to words to try to provoke me into hurting her to fulfil whatever sick satisfaction it gave her before pushing me into bed. She's a twisted woman, always has been. Whatever she's told you I did to her it was nothing she didn't allow, hell you saw it. She has a way of bringing out the worst in a man, forcing it to the surface."
"Why are you telling me this?" I stammer, panicking the weaker her breathing grows while he stands there like she's not dying.
"So you can run before it's too late."
I scoff now, realising what his play is "So you can have her?"
"I've loved her through all of these years, and no matter what we always found our way back to one another," he tells me and stops before heading back to the cockpit. "You seem like a good man, you love her, but she isn't the woman you think she is."
With her dying in my arms his words change nothing. "We'll see."
He's almost amused "You will see."
He leaves us and I look down at her, the woman I love, a woman who in so many ways is still as much of a mystery to me as she was when I first laid eyes on her. Whoever she was, I saw glimpses of her today that left me shocked, glimpses I'd never seen before that leave me wondering how much of the truth this man is telling me.
But it doesn't matter, not now, not when I could lose her. I trust her with my life, with the child's life, and that is more important than anything that he could ever tell me, not when I have my own past I try to forget. Not when our child is gone and I need her with me to take him back.
True desperation takes hold of me as her lips turn a shade of blue and I hold her face, afraid to move her without knowing the extent of her head injury, clinging to the faint beat of her pulse that is the only thing keeping the last shred of my sanity from breaking.
"Wake up," I plead with her, if there is one thing Fett is right about it's that she's too stubborn to die like this at the Empire's hands. "We need to protect Grogu, he needs us." Still she lays unconscious and my voice breaks "I need you."
When I was dying I had her and the child by my side, I would have died in peace having felt her lips on mine knowing there was someone to mourn me, to raise the child. I may be here, but she would not die in peace knowing the child is in danger, knowing he was taken by the Empire as she was when she was just a child.
As I died the only regret I had was that I had not had more time with her, I would have died a happy man if she opened her eyes to look upon my face when she kissed me and so with shaking hands I lift my helmet now and put it aside to look upon her with my own eyes. If she were to wake now I would have no regrets if only to feel her warm and alive in my arms.
"I love you," I tell her, knowing I might never get to say them again. "I can't- I can't go back to how it was before you and the kid. I can't." I'm choking back a sob as I fight tears, something I didn't realise I was still capable of. "Please, stay with me. Stay with me cyar'ika."
I kiss her cold head, feeling my tears wet her skin as I once felt hers wet mine. I thought I was gone, but she saved me.
I might not be able to wield the force to bring her back from the brink of death, I may be just a man begging the woman he loves to stay with him but that is enough. It has to be.
I'm not letting her die.
