another day, another emotional breakdown over bkdk
bec mother's day is coming soon and the new bnha chapter is still fresh in my mind, i cannot stop thinking abt what this entire thing must look like in mitsuki and inko's POV.
can you imagine the rollercoaster of emotions they must have suffered throughout all of this? all they wanted for their kids was a normal childhood.
i really wanna explore writing bnha in their pov. the joy of meeting another parent raising a kid the same age as theirs. the comfort of knowing they weren't alone in their struggle of raising a boy. they probably visited each others' houses so often that they got used to cooking for five. they'd probably talk in whispers and giggle at their own inside jokes while the kids ran off to play heroes.
we don't see inko or mitsuki having any other friends aside from each other. they probably confided everything to each other. mitsuki was probably the first person inko told abt izuku being quirkless.
i wanna see their pov when bkg and izk started falling apart. they'd call each other, worry abt what's happened, listen to the other rant about how helpless they feel.
can you imagine what they must've felt throughout their kids' first year of high school? only finding out what's happened to their kid through the news and media articles??
and now, witnessing them go to war, LIVE(?!?), against the most evil supervillain known to man...

a/n This is pretty like the wind series spin offs. This can be read as standalone all you need to know is that Azriel has two adoptive kids with OC - Zofie and Axel. Future stories related to them might include stories specifically decided to Azriel hence why I am taging it as Azriel story too. Don't come at me please. ✨
warning: blood, fighting, injuries, drinking.

Nyx’s pov:
"Again", his voice sounded unfamiliar to him. He had flinched at it after the concept of time had started slipping. For a split moment, Nyx thought that it was his high lord who had spoken. That had caused him a solid punch to the jaw. The boy in front of him looked Nyx over worriedly, as his stance shifted. “You’re in or you're out? I won’t wait forever”, Nyx snarled, leaping forward. Once again, he didn’t remember when they had abandoned their swords. But he preferred it like that. Close and personal. Physical.
Another blow landed against his nose, and Nyx's head flew back. He was well aware that on his good days, the poor chap wouldn’t have landed any of the punches at all. He got close only because Nyx let him. "Enough," an annoyed voice sounded from behind him. A welcome destination for the boy in front of Nyx. It was good enough for princes’s cracked knuckles to meet the target. “Flying fuck," a rough palm gripped Nyx’s shoulder, “You are the most stupid...", a growl. Nyx tried to open his left eye, one that was now too puffed up and throbbed like a bitch. “I suggest you bugger off before I make sure that you’re eating dirt for the rest of the week," Axel’s deep growl echoed, making Nyx chuckle lightly. “Man, he asked for it", the guy lifted his palms in defiance. “And if he told you to jump from the cliff, would you do it?", the boy shrugged, only making Axel let out yet another frustrated sigh, and the other Illyrian took it as his chance to leave.
“You will make a wonderful advisor in the future," Nyx skittered. “I think I will have your ass six feet under before that could even happen," Axel grumbled, pulling at his friend’s arms and trying to help him up. “I left you for a fucking hour, Nyx," he huffed, draping Nyx’s arm over his shoulders. "Yeah, I missed you. I had to settle for a fight with an idiot”. Nyx huffed. “Do I need to remind you that you have an important high-lord party to attend soon?"—that was one of the reads Nyx had let his rails loose. He hoped that if he misbehaved badly enough and looked like a walking corpse when the day chimed, he could wiggle his ass out of it. The thought alone made him want to bend over and vomit. He wasn’t built to be a prince. He didn’t want it. It wasn’t him. Wasn’t the life he envisioned for himself.
“You’ve been acting like an absolute fool ever since we came back from Velaris; what has gotten into you?", Axel kicked the door to their cabin before guiding Nyx toward his bed. Your sister happened to me, he thought, but bit his tongue. “I just wanted to fight," Nyx growled instead. Only now did he feel how badly his body hurt. That fucker had landed more blows than Nyx had initially counted. “I know you, and this ain’t you. You can talk to me. We always talk about it”, Axel shoved Nyx’s hand away from his face before dragging a warm cloth over the swollen eye. And what would he tell him? I can't get your fucking sister out of my head. Do you know why we cannot see each other for a bit? Why is she even pulling away? Nyx grunted, pulling the cloth out of Axel’s hands.
“Why don’t you start by telling me who you’ve been running around with instead?”. It was low. Axel had a right to have a life outside of being Nyx’s right-hand man. And his love life didn’t need to be accounted for. But Nyx was so angry. Angry at everything and everyone. People constantly kept him in the dark. And then threw a bucket of news in his face while expecting him to receive it with open hands. “I ain’t running around with anybody," Axel shook his head, throwing a jar of salve Nyx’s way. But the scowl on the young prince’s face only deepened, “So, Piper doesn’t ring a bell?”. And bingo. Axel’s whole body got ridged. Did Nyx have no right to go and dig into the new arrival papers? Probably. But here they were. “Keep her name out of your fucking mouth," Axel pointed a warning finger at him, clearly not finding this one bit amusing. “And you stand here giving me lectures about sharing things," Nyx chuckled, “So why aren’t you talking, friend?" Axel shook his head, “Clean yourself up and sober up while you’re at it." He moved towards the door, and something in Nyx shifted. Axel never left. Not even when Nyx was in his shittest of moods. He had always been the only one to not leave him. Sit through his temper tantrums. "Axel," Nyx breathed, panic rising in his chest. He didn’t want to be alone right now. His head was too busy. He was too full of things he didn’t want to think of. “I’m only going to grab you some fresh water; lay down you twat," Axel grumbled back, easing the rising tide within Nyx. He nodded simply, slumping back on the mattress. His hand instantly moved beneath his pillow, where he always kept a stitched napkin that Zofie had given him. The crooked moon and stars greeted him like they always did. The stick figures holding hands. The flowers. Even the wonky sun on the far left side was perfect. Always perfect. “I’m thinking about you," Nyx muttered, brushing his fingers over the stick figure that was supposed to represent Zofie, “It’s one never-ending night over here without you, Sunny."
Zofie’s pov:
It’s only been a week, but it felt like forever. She never usually felt so desperate when they left. At least not after the first week. But she had grown restless. The cry that left Nyx’s lips as he shot up to the sky was still ringing loud and clear. Zofie heard it even through her hammering heartbeat. With her back pressed against the door, as she covered her mouth. And now it felt as if she hadn’t seen Nyx in a lifetime. It clawed at her. She knew that Axel would look after him, but... What if something happened, and that’s how they would have separated?
Zofie didn’t know what she was feeling. It all seemed too mushy and jumbled up. Now, instead of seeing a different aura around people, she simply saw black. It was impossible to distinguish between different feelings.
“Zo, do you want more pancakes?", her father’s voice made her almost drop her fork as she nodded. Azriel gave her a concerned look before plopping one of his signature breakfast goods onto her plate. “You excited to see the girls?", he asked, throwing a glance your way, only earning a slight shrug in return. “Yeah, am… It will be nice”, even if she didn’t want to see anyone. Well, maybe Piper. Axel had said that she was one of the nice girls. One Zofie could get to know if only she chose to.
“Ah, yes. You’ll be able to show them around; you can even go down to the market in the city," you chimed in, “and buy something nice or show them the good spots." But Zofie didn’t want to do that. Most spots had been hers and Nyx’s. They felt too personal to just be handed out. The same pinch in her chest made the hallow darkness spread even more. Her brows knitted as she pushed the plate further away from her. “You didn’t like it?", Azriel stopped mid-bite, almost making Zofie feel guilty. Almost. “Just not hungry," she shrugged, getting up from the table. She caught a glimpse of worry in her father’s eyes as she moved towards the stairs. The way you had reached out to squeeze his hand. And while Zofie didn’t want to keep you two in the dark, she didn’t know how to explain the emptiness inside her.
Just the fresh air and change of scenery didn’t help. It was nice to see her aunts and introduce herself to Piper, but socializing was never her thing. Nyx did most of the talking when they were out in public. He was born for that. It baffled her how quickly he managed to come up with a snarky remark as if he stored them all within his brain with special labels for just the right moment. Zofie tried to suffocate thoughts of him. Tried. But failed miserably. Everything she did or thought of was always in one way or another related to him. The thing was that she didn’t want to leave him like that. She didn't want to make him upset, but she also didn’t know how to make everyone happy. So, until she could come up with a solution, it would have to be like that.
“In my opinion, he is so much more attractive," one of the girls giggled into her palms. Attractive? How long has Zofie been out of this conversation? They were talking about the market day the last time she listened. “Well, Piper is the one who got to talk to him," the brow haired girl nudged the poor Piper, who had practically curled into herself by now, “Is he really hot up close?”.
Zofie shook her head. “Who’s hot?", she cut in, making all four sets of eyes dart up to her. And now she realized why she hated speaking in the first place. “Piper here had the prince’s second man carry her boxes”, Lina’s blond curls bobbed as she turned. But that was Axel? Why was Axel even here in the first place? He told her they could... Of course, he had met her. “Well, that’s my brother, so can we not talk weirdly about him?", Zofie scrunched up her nose, making the other two girls roll their eyes. But at least Piper’s shoulders sagged in relief. "Bore," the copycat next to Lina chirped. Zofie just couldn’t remember her name.
“We sure can talk about the prince himself," Lina smirked, and something snapped deep within Zofie, “There’s nothing to talk about." Suddenly, the prospect of having girls her age seemed like the worst idea ever. “As if... I’m determined to meet him," Lina said. The green mist rose in Zofie’s vision. “Gonna swoon him off his feet; heard he’s a proper flirt two," she elbowed her double ganger as they both chuckled.
“He will not fall for your shit," Zofie bit back, not even realizing that her hands were now firmly clenched by angry fists. “And how would you know that?", Lina fluffed her lashes. How did she know? She didn’t. Lina was pretty; you couldn’t take that from her. From the hair to her lean body. She was the embodiment of how any girl wanted to look. While Zofie… “He is my friend," she muttered, biting out the nagging thoughts. Lina chuckled, “Yeah, a friend. So, clearly, if you’re not girlfriend material, I will be."
It felt as if a bomb had exploded all around her. Vision glazing over. She saw nothing. Only Lina. She heard no one. Only Lina. And surprisingly, the girl wasn’t smiling. She looked petrified. Grasping at her throat. It felt static. As if the time had come to a halt. And then someone yanked her back. Pulling Zofie away from the neatly placed picnic blanket.
"Zofie", it sounded muffled, but her eyes did follow the sound. Only to be met with Feyre’s concerned ones. She blinked a couple of times. The fuzzy feeling cleared out. “She’s insane," a shriek sounded from behind her, making Zofie twist back. “You are dangerous, you stupid..." it was Lina, her cheeks still red, eyes wide. “Don’t finish that sentence," Cassian was gripping her shoulder, but he didn’t look too concerned with the girl. His eyes were on Zofie.
Zofie blinks a couple of times, black spots dancing in the corners of her vision. What had she done? Was it even her? Why did she... “Why don’t we go drink some tea, dear?", Feyre wrapped a hand around her shoulders. "I...", Zofie barely muttered before Feyre cut in, “Some tea with lots of honey, yes, yes." A part of Zofie wanted to run. Like she always did. Run away and hide. But Feyre pushed some of hair behind her ear, “We’ll have a nice conversation you and I”, she muttered almost ti herself, “Bake cookies even. Cookies always help”.
Nyx’s pov:
“Give me that," Axel said, snatching the glass out of Nyx’s hand, “You’ve been here for an hour." An hour too long. The hustle of the people was making Nyx sick. It was bad enough that he had to stand for the majority of that hour next to his parents, smiling as if he was thrilled to be there while he was slowly dying inside. Nyx kept dead-eye contact with Axel through it all, even if there was a sea of females who were trying to catch his eyes.
“I still think that you should cover for me so I can sneak out," Nyx grumbled. He had made at least five escape plans; he even planned to fake an allergic reaction, but Axel hadn’t been as thrilled about that. “Midnight. We had a deal”, Axel muttered, scanning the crowd. He was Nyx’s hawk, noting slipped past Axel. And as much as Nyx hated to admit it, Azriel was the one who had taught him all of it. “But you’ll dance with half of the girls in that line," Nyx nodded towards the girls who hadn’t stopped staring at him ever since the night began. “They ain’t her for me, kitten," Axel mused, making Nyx roll his eyes. “I’ll put a good word out for you," the prince said with a tap on his friend’s shoulder.
“Is your family coming?", Nyx scanned the crowd for familiar face. Well, correction. Is Zofie coming? He had tried to sneak back to Velaris before all this. He had to because his brain was going into overdrive. It had been eleven days, eighteen hours, forty-seven minutes, and 45... 46 seconds till he had laid eyes on her. And by now, he was more than okay with just catching a glimpse. He could do with that. He would settle for that. “Papa should," Axel said calmly, “Ma’ wasn’t feeling too well, so she’s back at the cottage." Translation: Zofie didn’t want to go, so Y/N stayed back with her. Nyx clenched his jaw. “Everyone’s healthy and well?", he was fishing for straws here, and he knew it. “Yeah, it’s all well; little one is growing too fast, though. Could have sworn she fit in my palm before we left," Axel muttered, and a part of Nyx was glad that he hadn’t caught onto his real intentions.
“Here you are”, a strong palm landed on Nyx’s shoulder, making the boy look to the side. His smug father stood there, way too happy with himself. “High Lord," Axel said, lowering his head in greeting, even though Nyx had specifically told him to not kiss his father with flatly. “You two are hiding in the back as if this is a funeral," Rhys shook his head with a smile, “Come up to the front tables; quite a couple of people are looking for you." Nyx’s eye twitched. If only he could scream now. He was convinced all the windows would shatter. He wanted out. Why was no one catching onto the fact that he was suffocating? He didn’t want to be a part of his father’s plans. He didn’t want to be a perfect son. A one-day-crowned prince.
Nyx was sure that Rhys could see the malice burning through his eyes, considering that his face went dead serious. Nyx knew that his father would stomp his foot, and he would have to do it. Or that pleading look on his mother’s face would claw at his heart till he gave in. He felt Axel’s hand on his shoulder blade. He was spiraling then. His magic was flaring up and Axel was warning him like he always did. Nyx was about to open his mouth when his eye caught movement behind his father. His eyes narrowed. Vision sharpening, and then it all died down.
The ringing in his ears faded. The choking feeling subsided. “Nyx, I am talking to you," Rhys said, gripping his upper hand, but Nyx shook it off as he stepped forward. Smile tugging at his lips. She was a vision. There might have been hundreds of females here tonight. Wrapped in the most expensive silks and velvet. But he hadn’t given them a second glance. And now she stood there at the top of the staircase. Looking over the hall. Nyx only hoped that she was looking for him.
And then her gaze found his. As if he had brought it right back to him. As if in a sea of bodies, she knew where he would be. And then she smiled. And Nyx was convinced that someone had spiked the wine because she shouldn’t be smiling. He moved faster, his hands gripping the railing as he jogged up the stairs. He missed every other step as he went. Was it appropriate? No. Was he making a spectacle considering that they were right above everyone and had nowhere to blend in? Yes. But did he care? No. Because even with twenty stairs separating them, she was too far away, and at the same time, she was in front of him way too quickly, leaving him no time to pick through his thoughts.
“You came?", Nyx breathed heavily. Zofie crossed her arms over her chest, looking him up and down. "I had a feeling you were struggling to get through this," she said casually, “Axel said that your sassiness has been off lately." Nyx wasn’t sure if he wanted to laugh or cry at this point as he stepped closer to her, shielding her tiny frame from any curious glances. "Sunny," he muttered, ready to watch her fade away the same way she always did in his dreams.
“Your hands are trembling," she breathed, reaching out for his palms, “Why are your hands trembling?" Her worried eyes looked up at him, and he was ready to sink to his knees in front of her. “I… I am nervous”, he muttered like a teenager, looking at his first-ever crush. “You never get nervous around me," Zofie frowned, shaking her head. And then there was one heartbeat. One. Nyx’s left hand reached behind her as he pulled her into his chest, wrapping her up in his embrace.
He was shivering all over. But all the systems in his body that had been flashing red for days now were finally running smoothly. It felt as if he could finally breathe. That lavender sugar scent that she carried drowned him in her. “We need to get out of here," Nyx breathed again, her hair neatly braided with daisies. “I didn’t spend an hour lacing this for nothing," Zofie muttered, pulling back from his embrace. Both of their eyes fall onto the deep purple and black bodice. A vision. Nyx reached for her hand. “I’ll appreciate the hell out of it for you, Zof; I will," he muttered, dragging her towards the double-sided door. He heard gasps as he moved. Pretty sure he even heard his name being called. Pret sure he heard footsteps. But the moment he was out in the cold night air, he wrapped his arms around Zofie once more. Bringing her as close as he possibly could before shooting up at the sky and winnowing halfway through the plush clouds. Now that he had gotten his sun back, not even the devil himself was strong enough to take her away.

Tumblr media
By September of '59, Elvis was used to the army. He was used to the routine, used to the work, used to the people, used to the fans, and used to looking for a good time wherever he could find it. On this particular night, he found it at a party at his own house in Bad Nauheim. All his friends were there, along with a plethora of girls to keep everyone interested. Elvis moved through the party easily, making small talk and keeping everyone stocked on drinks, despite the fact that he didn't have any himself. Sometimes he imbibed, but usually he didn't. Although his beloved mama was gone, what he learned from her still lived in the forefront of his memory. That is, unless he found himself at the Moulin Rouge. But that was different. Here at his own house, he preferred to remain in control.
Despite having a girlfriend back at home, he moves through the house looking for a girl to talk to. That's when he notices her in a corner, her dark hair swept into a low ponytail and blue eyes glancing lazily around the room. She almost seems bored. So much so that she turns to the bookshelf that came with the house and pulls a book down. She opens it and begins to read. Elvis is intrigued by the kind of woman who reads at a party. He begins to walk over to her and realizes that the book is in French. He panics for a second and then remembers that the guys taught him a phrase in French. Surely he can figure out how to communicate with her. Besides, most of these French girls speak a little English.
He swaggers up to her, ready to try out his French. He stands there in front of her for a minute before she looks up at him.
"Bonjour."
"Mhmm." She looks down at her book, but he doesn't leave. He's suddenly nervous, but he decides to risk it. She's pretty enough that it might be worth it.
"Uhh, est-ce que tu aimes le sexe?"
She looks up at him suddenly and laughs.
"What? Did I pronounce it wrong?" She laughs even harder. When she finally catches her breath, she holds up a hand.
"First of all, I speak English. Second of all, please don't ever say that to anyone ever again."
"Oh. Why?"
"You just asked me if I like sex."
"What?! Those motherfu- I mean, those jerks. They told me it meant 'how are you'."
"And you believed them? It literally has the word 'sex' in it."
"Well, I don't know! I don't speak French!"
"Obviously." She looks back down at her book. He's not ready to give up, though.
"Hey, if you speak English, why are you reading in French?"
"My mother was French. I speak and read it because of her." She answers without looking up from the page.
"Was?"
"She's been gone for a while now. I live with my stepdad. He's an officer in the army." He feels the pain of having lost his mother too soon and looks at her with even more softness and affection than he did before.
"I'm Elvis." She looks up at him.
"I know." He nods and she notices the look he's giving her. "You know, I'm actually here with someone."
"Oh?"
"Mhmm." She points across the party to Charlie, who's making his way to her with drinks.
"Charlie?!"
"Yes."
"Well, goddamn." Charlie makes it over to them and hands her one of the drinks. He throws his arm around her casually and looks up at Elvis.
"Hey buddy. I see you met my lady."
"Well, not officially..." She holds her hand out to him.
"Vivian Choquette. Nice to meet you, Elvis Presley." He takes her hand and has the strangest urge to kiss it, but he'd never do such a thing with Charlie right there. He's been a good friend to Elvis, so no matter how much he likes her, he won't risk their friendship. Instead, he shakes her hand like he would if she was a man.
"Yeah, likewise." Elvis nods awkwardly and then turns to go back to the party. It's too bad that she's there with Charlie. He wanders around a little more, before he sees a girl that will change the trajectory of his whole life. Still, he never forgets the girl he met first.
******
The next day, Elvis sits at lunch with Charlie.
"So what did you think of my girl?" Elvis chokes a little on his food and tries to think of how he can answer without letting on that he hasn't stopped thinking about her.
"Oh, she's... she's somethin' else."
"Ain't she? I saw you talking to that cute little thing though. She seemed like somethin' else too."
"Priscilla? Oh, yeah."
"Little young, though."
"Yeah..." Elvis tries to focus on Priscilla, but all he can think about is Vivian. If she wasn't with Charlie, she'd be exactly what he's looking for. He's not sure how he knows that based on the half of a conversation they had, but something about her just draws him to her. Maybe it's the fact that she seems deeper than most of the girls he's encountered. Maybe it's because she didn't fall all over herself to talk to him. Maybe it's because she understands the pain of losing a parent. Whatever the reason, he can't stop wishing that she hadn't met Charlie first.
******
About three weeks later, Elvis is walking around town and he passes a cafe. He doesn't think much of it until he sees someone he recognizes sitting at one of the little tables. His heart jumps a bit at the thought of talking to her again. Then, he remembers Charlie with his arm around her. He decides to keep walking, but as he gets a little closer, he notices her shoulders are shaking. She's got her long, dark hair in her face, so he can't see her eyes, but it looks like she might be crying. He can't let her sit there alone if that's the case.
He cautiously approaches the table and realizes he was right. Her sniffling is quiet, but he can hear it. She's got a lit cigarette in one hand, and it looks like she's forgotten it's there. Her other hand fiddles with her coffee cup on its saucer. When he gets to her, he's not exactly sure what to do. He didn't have much of a plan beyond walking to the table. After hesitating for a second, he pulls the chair across from her out to sit in, but it makes a horrible screeching sound and she looks up startled.
"What the f-"
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry. It's just me."
"God, Elvis, you scared me."
"I'm sorry, honey, can I sit down?" She wipes her face and nods.
"Yeah, sure, I guess so." He sits down across from her and watches as she puts out her cigarette and continues trying to wipe her face clean.
"Are you... are you alright?"
"Ha! Yeah, I'm just fine." She pulls out another cigarette and lights it. They sit in silence for a bit while Elvis tries to think of what to say.
"You sure?" Vivian takes a puff of her cigarette and blows it straight up into the air.
"Do I look alright?" Elvis hesitates. He wants to say that she looks beautiful, but it doesn't feel appropriate.
"You seem upset."
"You're very observant." She responds spitefully. He looks down at his hands in his lap. "I'm sorry; that was rude. You're not the one that cheated on me and abandoned me."
"No... Charlie?" She takes a drag and holds her breath, nodding. Finally, she has to exhale, so she does and then starts to cry again. It's killing Elvis to sit there and watch her cry without doing something about it. He stands up and offers her his hand. "Come on."
"What? Where are we going?"
"My house is only a block from here. You can cry in private." She looks up at him and he can tell she's thinking about saying no. "I won't hurt you. Come on."
She puts her cigarette out and grabs her purse, taking the hand he offered her. They walk in silence to his house, but they continue to hold hands. When he finally gets her settled on the sofa, he sits next to her and leans back, spreading his legs wide. He's trying to indicate that she can relax and sit comfortably too. To his utter shock, she slips her shoes off and tucks her feet up under herself, also getting comfortable.
"So, he cheated on you?"
"Well, I guess that's not exactly fair."
"What do you mean?"
"I was the one he cheated with. Turns out he's been writing letters to another girl for a while."
"Ohhhh... and you found out about it." He thinks about the girl he writes letters to at home. What would she think of him here on the couch with this girl.
"Yes. I didn't want to be the other woman. Besides I thought he... well... it's stupid."
"What did you think?"
"I thought he wanted to marry me." Elvis's eyebrows shoot straight up before he can stop them. He never thought of Charlie as the marrying kind. Then again, he can understand not wanting to let Vivian go. "See, even you think I'm stupid."
"No, I don't. I think you just had hope. There's nothing wrong with that."
"There is if you're me." He sits up and looks into her eyes. The sadness rolling off of her is about to kill him.
"Why do you say that?" She looks up trying to keep herself from crying, but it doesn't work and fat teardrops slide down her cheeks.
"Everybody leaves me. My father left me. Then my mother left me. The first boy I loved. And now Charlie. Why does everyone leave? What's wrong with me?"
He scoots close to her and pulls her into his arms, resting her head on his shoulder. She doesn't object. Instead she lets herself be comforted as she continues to cry. He strokes her hair and kisses the top of her head. The pain of loss is something he's all too familiar with. He takes her face in the palm of his hand and looks into her eyes.
"Viv, this is not your fault. There's nothing wrong with you. I know what it's like to lose people too soon and it hurts. But it's not because of you."
"Why does it feel like no one wants me?" This smashes his heart into a thousand pieces. He wants her so badly it hurts.
"That can't possibly be true." Just tell her. Say it. Say 'I want you.' He wills himself to tell her the truth, but he just can't.
"You're sweet, Elvis." He smiles awkwardly and tries to ignore the fact that she pats his thigh. She leans her head on his shoulder again and snuggles into the side of his body. He knows she's just seeking comfort, so he tries to stay focused on being that. But he is a young man and she is a girl with her hand on his thigh and his imagination is running wild with what would happen if he carried her to his bedroom. He swallows deeply and begs his body not to respond physically to what's in his mind.
Still, there's an electric charge in the air that she has to notice too. Almost at the same time, they pull back and look into each other's eyes. He puts his knuckle under her chin and looks down at her lips. When she closes her eyes, he knows he has the green light, so he leans in and softly presses his lips to hers. Something bubbles up inside him and his hands begin to tremble. He backs up slightly and hovers just above her lips. They both smile and he dives back in for a deeper kiss, dipping his tongue into her mouth to slide against hers. She nibbles on his bottom lip a little and he groans. His hands rest on her hips in an attempt to get them to stop shaking and he eventually lifts her into his lap to straddle him. The intensity of their kissing increases as his hands roam over her body.
Suddenly, she pulls back breathlessly.
"Wait. Elvis, do you have a girlfriend back home?" His mouth pops open. He's not sure how to answer. Yes, he has Anita at home, but for the right girl, for her, he'd end that in a heartbeat. "Answer the question."
"Well... I-I-I..."
"That's all I need to hear." She peels herself off of him and stands up, smoothing her hair.
"No, honey, wait-"
"No. You're basically doing the same thing that Charlie just did. All you G.I.s are the same."
"Hon, please-"
"My name is Vivian!"
"Viv, just, don't leave..." she tries to put her heels back on and stumbles to get the second one on. He uses both hands to steady her as she does.
"Elvis, no. Good luck with Priscilla."
"Wait-?"
"You know she's 14."
"She's 14?!"
"So, you know, have fun with that." Vivian stomps towards the door with him close on her heels. He doesn't know how to make her understand that she's all he wants. Priscilla, Anita, none of them compare to her. But he doesn't know how to say that, so instead he watches as she walks out his front door, catches a cab, and disappears from his life.
******
Or so he thinks. In 1961, Elvis is home from the army and back to his film career. In March, he leaves the continental US to get ready to film Blue Hawaii. He arrives and goes to a cast meeting on set where the director is excited to introduce his costar. His first view of her is from behind and his heart skips. Surely it can't be?
"This is Vivian Choquette. She'll be playing your girlfriend, Maile Duval." She turns to face him and smiles awkwardly. Elvis tries to hide his excitement, hoping his trembling hands won't give him away.
"Hello again..."
******
Until chapter 2. Thoughts so far?

TnK's Trigun Fic Listing
Ok now that I've got 15 fics out for Trigun (so far) and at least a couple of those are upwards of 20K and some of them are sequels and followups and ongoing, I thought maybe I should do a proper list of things, to make it easier for people who want to read in some kind of order. I'm terrible about talking up my own work but this is also for my own reference so that's fine, right? ^^; All fics are Vashwood-centric (I will get to Nai in a minute I have a backlog) and ratings vary from Gen to Explicit, though all are intended for an adult audience. This list is complete as of September '23, I will update it periodically as needed!
NB: I'm lucky enough to have gotten fanart for some of these and sometime when my head is not full of mud I'll go in and add links to those where I can. (Or please drop a link in the replies if you are one of the wonderful artists in question!)
THE BIG THREE STORYLINES:
Someday Out of the Blue & I Believe in the Kingdom Come
Trigun '98 canon. Reincarnation fic. The first one is a story I started writing over 20 years ago and quit after a chapter because I was just too heartbroken (and did not know it, but was also too young). Picked it up and finished it this April (2023) after Stampede clobbered me and I fell off the "we don't talk about wolfwood" wagon. The second story is a direct sequel to tie up some loose ends from the first one, and also to indulge my need for a proper happy ending. (I think a lot of folks don't realize Someday has a sequel but it does!!)
Black is the Color and Mysterious Ways
Trimax Canon. Resurrection/Fix-it/Angstmance with a much shorter, sillier, smuttier epilogue. Three years after the end of Trigun Maximum, Vash is having some trouble laying his ghosts to rest. (You may have seen this incredible artwork which has gotten around a bit and boosts the story better than any summary of mine possibly could.) Weird things happened when I was writing this, I don't mind telling you. Mysterious Ways was mostly an excuse to explore some of the more interesting concepts brought up by the first one, but saying anything more would be spoilery.
Eyes of the Storm
(Mostly) Trimax canon. Cryptid Vash AU, slowburn romance, ongoing. When Nicholas D. Wolfwood gets roped into being the new caretaker for the now-abandoned orphanage where he spent his childhood, he soon finds out that his own hidden memories are not the only thing haunting him. (What the fuck is a Typhoon?) Wolfwood, Vash, Livio, Elendira, et al. This is the one currently in progress at six chapters out of ??. Pretty SFW so far BUT NOT FOR MUCH LONGER CAVEAT LECTOR.
List continues with standalone and shorter fics below the cut!
Honeymoon
Generic Trimax/98 setting. Plant Heat, Wingfic, Tentacle Fic, What the fuck is Hay Fever. Wolfwood offers to help Vash out with a personal problem and gets a little more than he bargained for.
Strange Powers
Generic Trimax/98 setting, comedy/smut/potato jokes/fisting with a loaded prosthetic. What if Vash and Wolfwood (accidentally) got really, really hella high?
Hurricane
Trigun '98 Canon.
Vash: Make money? As a priest?
WW: Well. *mysteriously* Not only that.
Vash: (oh my gosh he's a prostitute)
Shortfic. Wolfwood tries to figure out how to offer his services to someone he doesn't really want to be a paying customer. Short and smutty while also demolishing Wolfwood's professional boundaries.
Skin Tight
Generic Trimax/98 setting. The Infamous Red Dress. PWP, Wolfwood needs to be in the Vash Sensory Deprivation Tank, Vash in high heels, the dress gave its life for this fic you should read it and honor its sacrifice. Look. This is just porn, guys. You want the porny fic? This is the porny fic. (just kidding most of them are porny fics but this one is especially so.)
Secondhand Secrets
Generic Trimax/98 setting. Introspective/Vignette/Wolfwood POV. Vash's artificial arm always moves in his sleep, and Wolfwood wonders what he's looking for.
Personal Jesus
Badlands Rumble canon (post-film), Wolfwood has poor emotional coping strategies, hurt/comfort (Wolfwood provides both), first-time. That red hotel minifridge never stood a chance.
A Fool From Any Direction
Trigun '98 Vash's weird horny schtick is a front, and self-respect doesn't save lives. Which is too bad because when Wolfwood finds out what Vash is planning next he's gonna kill him.
Benediction
Trimax but could also be '98; Sometimes being a hero is not all it's cracked up to be. Or maybe Vash is the one cracking up. Hurt/Comfort, Wound Care & Bible Quotes, Noman's Land is a bitch of a planet. Shortfic, feels, non-explicit/no sex.
A Bit of a Tight Spot
Generic Trimax/98 setting. Costume Porn, PWP, No corsets were harmed in the making of this fic. I feel like this one gets missed a lot which is MADDENING because you guys. WOLFWOOD'S DOUBLE Ds IN A CORSET. And like, in a gender euphoria way, not in a comedy drag kind of way (though comedy drag does make a small appearance). I don't know how the good minister tightlaced in cuban stockings while giving Vash a blowjob in front of a mirror in the attic of a whorehouse can get so often overlooked, maybe my title or summary is lacking, but it's one of the hottest things I've ever written and its engagement is just in the basement? When (emphatic baffled hand motions to Nicholas D. Wolfwood wearing a garter like a thigh-holster). Anyway.
The Quick and the Bed
Trigun '98 Comedy, Romance, First Time. The single bed trope. Drunk Idiocy. Wolfwood's vows are in serious danger. (Wolfwood does not have vows.) Readers have let me know that they find this one amusing. Roommates of readers have sent me threats of bodily harm due to badly-stifled hysterical laughter at 3am.
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW MORE STORIES WILL BE ADDED AS THEY OCCUR!
SMALL DISCLAIMER: I'm a full-time working writer and my fanfic is something I give away for free out of love. Please don't copy, alter, plagiarize, feed to AI in any form, fold, spindle, or mutilate. I'm not in the market for concrit, but if you like my stories please feel free to leave me a comment/kudo, download/print/fanbind for personal use, or let other readers know!

Begin Again - Chapter 1
***thinking about posting my wattpad stuff here too, starting the first chapter of this book.
Six months prior - Mack's POV
I'm getting Riley ready for bed when my phone rings from the other room.
I look at my watch.
She's late again.
"Mommy? Where momma?" Riley asks me sadly.
"She had work, baby. She will see you in the morning."
She leans in and kisses my cheek, "Okay."
I scoop her up and kiss her cheek, "We love you. So much."
I set her in her crib and turn on her sound machine and then hit the light.
"Night night, mommy!"
I sigh, "Night night, baby."
I close her door and walk to the next room, "Max, come here, boy."
Our big yellow lab runs into the room and hops onto the bed.
I grab my phone and see two missed calls.
Ally.
I push her contact and it quickly gets picked up.
"Hello." A man's voice answers.
"Uh, hello? Who is this?" I ask, concerned.
"Is this the spouse of Allison Hughes?" He asks.
I gulp, "Y-yes? What is going on? Where is my wife?"
Silence.
"Mrs. Hughes? My name is Dr. Snyder, I was your wife's trauma doctor today."
My heart drops.
"What? Where is my wife?" I ask and stand up.
"Your wife was in a terrible accident. She came into my trauma bay and we performed CPR for 30 minutes, but her injuries were too extensive."
I stop pacing.
"No. Where is my wife? I want to talk to her! She-she was on her way home, albeit, late, but she was on her way!"
"Mrs. Hughes, your wife passed away about 30 minutes ago. We were unable to save her. I am so sorry." He says.
My brain is unable to compute what is actually happening.
"We have a two-year-old." Is the only phrase I can say.
"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Hughes. We will need you to come down to the hospital. It's a formality."
I stare at the bed and feel tears running down my cheeks.
I see the photo of us on our wedding day and when Riley was born.
"Fuck. Okay. I understand. I'll be there, what hospital?"
"UC San Diego Medical Center."
I hang up and rub my face.
'This can't be fucking real. It just can't be.'
I go to my contacts and click the name.
"Hey dude! What's going on?"
"Lauren?" I sniffle.
"Whoa. What's wrong? You and Ally okay?"
The mention of Ally makes me cry harder.
"Shit. This is bad. I'm coming over."
She hangs up and I sink to the floor.
'What am I going to do?'
Present
"Riley! Don't go too far, okay?" I call out.
"Won't, mommy!"
I look out at the ocean and sigh. I look down at my wedding rings that I can't take off.
'I miss you so much, babe.'
I look back up and try to locate Riley, but can't.
"Riley?" I call.
I feel my heart rate increase and call again, "Riley!"
"Mommy, I'm here!"
I whip around and see Riley run up with another girl.
I kneel down and hug her, "You scared me, baby."
"Right here, mommy." She says.
I pull back, "Who's your friend?"
She smiles, "This is Charlie!"
I smile, "Hi, Charlie."
"Hi! My momma is over here!" She says and bolts away.
I watch as she comes back, pulling a woman.
"Whoa, Charlie!" She says.
"Momma! This is Riley, my new friend! And this is her mommy!"
I smile and stand up, "Hi. I'm Mack."
She smiles and I feel butterflies in my stomach.
"Alex. Nice to meet you. Looks like these two are thick as thieves." She laughs.
I nod, "Looks like it."
"Can we go play?" Charlie asks.
"Yeah mommy, can we?" Riley pleads.
"Sure, but we have to go in 10, yeah?"
She nods and runs off with Charlie.
"She's cute, how old?" Alex asks.
"She's 3. What about Charlie?"
She smiles, "She just turned three too."
I nod, "Nice. We will have to exchange numbers so they can have play dates."
She smiles wider, "Totally."
We continue talking when I look at my phone.
"I'm so sorry, but we have to go. Riley, come on!"
She runs over, "Time to see momma?"
I smile sadly, "Yeah, baby. Just like always."
She nods, "Bye, Charlie! See you soon?"
Charlie nods and hugs her, "Yeah!"
I see a look in Alex's eyes, but it quickly changes, "Here's my number."
I grab it from her and nod, "Thank you. I'll text you."
She bobs her head, "Great. Bye!"
I wave and we walk to the car, getting in.
We pull into the cemetery and I park.
"Mommy?"
I sigh, "Yeah, baby?"
"When can momma come home from the cemetery?"
I feel my eyes fill with tears and sigh, getting out of the car.
I open the back door and get her out of her seat, setting her on the ground and kneeling.
"Ry, momma isn't coming home from the cemetery. She died, remember? Her body stopped working and she went to heaven." I say sadly.
She looks down and nods, "Lots of flowers."
I smile, "So many flowers, just like momma liked."
She sighs, "Go talk to momma, now?"
"Yeah, let's go."
She runs ahead and I look up.
'She misses you so much.'
Alex POV - later that week
"Earth to Alex! I'm telling you a story!"
I turn and see Taylor, "Sorry. Zoned out."
"What about? How your divorce with Serv is almost done with?"
I sigh, "No, but also thanks for the reminder."
She chuckles, "It's a good thing. Then you can be free to do what you want or really who you want."
I smile and shake my head, "You're ridiculous."
"Now that you're like settled on the whole being with a woman thing, we have to find you a lady!" She exclaims.
I sigh, "Oh my god."
"Come on! Let's go to the gay bar." She says, pushing my shoulder.
My eyes widen, "I have a three year old. No one wants my baggage."
She sighs, "Dude, you're a catch. Charlie is adorable. Also helps that you're a ridiculously famous soccer player."
I chuckle, "Maybe. I don't want to date another player though."
"Okay. But we will find you someone." She says.
"Sure."
I stand up and walk out of the locker room.
I get to my car and stare at my phone.
'That woman never texted me. Charlie's been asking about Riley.'
I sigh and head towards Charlie's school.
I pull in the parking lot and Mack crosses my mind again.
I shake my head.
'She had a ring on, Alex. Get a grip.'
Mack POV -
The bell rings and I smile, "Alright guys, that's the bell! I'll see you all next week!"
I watch as my high schoolers quickly clamber to get out of my classroom.
I turn and sit at my desk, starting to grade papers.
I glance up and see the photo of Ally and I with Riley, one month before she died.
I sigh and sit back.
"Knock knock, buddy! Time for the weekend!" Lauren waltzes in.
I look at her and smile, "Yup!"
"Let's go out tonight." She says and leans on my desk.
I stare at her and shake my head, "Riley is still having a hard time during bedtime without Ally."
She sighs, "You need a break. Call your mom, she can come watch Ry."
I look down, "I'm really missing her, Laur."
"I know you are, which is why you need a break. Let's go out, get a few beers, nothing crazy, you'll be home by 11. Ally would want you to take a break." She says.
I look back up at her, "Alright. I'll text my mom."
She pats my back, "It'll get better, I promise."
I bob my head, "Okay. I need to go get Riley."
"See you at 8."
She walks out and I lean back, looking up.
"Send me a sign, babe. I don't want to go on without you, but it's hard."
I close my eyes and sigh.
I gather my stuff and head to my car, going to get Riley.
I pull up to her preschool and smile when I see her running out on the playground.
'She's so much like her.'
I get out and she sees me, "Mommy!"
I jog over and pick her up, kissing her cheek.
"Hi my little love!"
"Hi Mrs. Hughes! Can we chat real quick?" Riley's teacher asks.
I nod, "Go play a little more."
I watch as Riley runs off and turn to her teacher.
"What's going on? Everything okay with Riley?" I ask.
She nods, "Yeah, just she's having a hard time napping and has been acting out a little bit."
"Acting out, how?" I inquire.
She sighs, "She's shoving kids, not sharing, wants to be by herself, which as you know, is not like her."
I shake my head, "It's not. She's been struggling with losing Ally."
She nods sadly, "I agree. I really think it'd be beneficial to have her see a social worker."
My eyes widen.
"I know that sounds scary, but you're an educator, you know the importance of getting the right supports in place." She says gently.
I think about it and let out a breath, "I know you're right. I'm just worried, she sleeps with me every night."
She nods, "We will support you guys just like we have been."
I nod, "Thank you, see you Monday."
"Come on, Ry!"
She skips over and grabs my hand.
We walk to the car and get in, "Okay, baby. Tonight, grandma is going to stay with you for a few hours. I'll tuck you in, but mommy is going to go out for a few hours with Auntie Lauren."
She shakes her head, "No, mommy! What if something happens!"
I sigh, "Nothing will happen. I'll see you in the morning. You'll be safe with grandma. Maybe she will even give you ice cream before sleep."
Her eyes well up and she nods, "Promise you'll come home?"
"Promise."
Alex POV
"Okay, let's get a drink!" Taylor yells.
We walk to the bar and I lean on it.
"Hey. What's your name?"
I turn and see a gorgeous blonde staring at me.
I smile, "Hi, I'm Alex."
"Elise."
"Nice to meet you." I say.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
I nod and am about to speak when someone bumps into me.
"I am so sorry. Jesus, I should really watch where I am-"
"Mack?" I ask.
She looks up at me, "Uh- Alex? Hi! What are- what are you doing here?"
I chuckle, "Same thing as you."
She stares at me and shakes her head, "Can I buy you a drink?"
I smile widely and nod.
"But-" Elise starts.
I turn to her, "I'm so sorry, but i know this one. Thanks for offering though."
She scoffs and walks off.
"Did I interrupt something?" Mack asks.
I shake my head, "No."
"Mack! The hell? You just wander off and now you're with some hot chick!"
My eyes widen.
"Holy. Are you her wife? I am so sorry, but I promise this is not what it looks like."
Her eyes widen, "Am I her- oh no. Just best friend."
Mack sighs and I notice her demeanor change.
"Lauren, what's your name?" The woman asks.
"I'm Alex. Our kids met at the park the other day." I say.
She smiles, "Oh, nice."
Mack is lost in thought and her friend nudges her.
She looks up, "Riley met her daughter at the park."
"We established that, idiot. You know what? I'm going to go find our crew. You'll catch up?"
Mack nods.
Lauren walks away, "So, you promised me a drink."
She smiles, "I did. Let's go out on the patio though."
We grab drinks and walk outside, which is way quieter.
We sit and I stare at her.
'She's so damn cute."
I shake my head.
"So, where's your wife?" I ask.
She looks down at her hand and sighs.
"I know you see these rings and that's why you ask."
I look at her confusedly.
She lets out another breath, "Alex, my wife died six months ago."
'What?'

Stuck Between a Jock and a Metalhead
Summary: Nancy, on a whim, decides to visit Steve at Scoops Ahoy, which leads to her overhearing confessions from Steve that leads her to think about the decisions she's made. A few days later, she decides to come back. She finds him being hit on by the town freak. What's a girl to do? Oh, get stuck in a freezer with the both of them.
Chapter One - Chapter Two - Chapter Three - Chapter Four - Chapter Five - Chapter Six - Chapter Seven - Chapter Eight - Chapter Nine - Chapter Ten
Chapter Eleven
Steve’s POV
" . . . I'm going to rip out your parents' decrepit black hearts and show it to them still beating, letting them watch as I slowly crush them both in my hands. . . "
"Jesus, Robin," Steve scoffed.
It was a couple of days later, and they were both in the apartment above the salon. Steve had wanted to get a jumpstart on cleaning the place up and move out of his parents' house as soon as possible. Robin had protested at first because he was still wounded, but Steve wore her down by telling her of his grandfather's journals, which she was currently pouring through. If Nancy were here, she wouldn't give in so easily. Luckily, she was on lockdown at her house. Her mother hadn't been too pleased to find out that both her children had been in the fire and that Nancy had camped out at the hospital without telling her. Meanwhile, Eddie was at home getting his sister settled into her new life.
"This doesn't bother you?" Robin asked.
"Of course, it bothers me," Steve replied.
"Right, stupid question," she said. "How can you be so casual about all of it?"
"I don't know. I guess it's easier to accept the fact that I'm just not really going to have parents that stick around. They either die, or they just leave. It happens," Steve shrugged.
Robin let out a strangled noise, jumped up, and hugged him tightly.
"I'll be your dad!" Robin exclaimed.
"Robin!"
"Dad."
"Robin!"
"Dad!"
"I am not calling you that! You're younger than me!" Steve exclaimed.
Suddenly, there was a loud thunk that came from outside the apartment. Robin jumped away from Steve, her eyes wide.
"What the hell was that?" Robin asked.
"I don't know, stay behind me," Steve said and grabbed a lamp off the table.
They burst out of the apartment and heard the sound of scurrying feet as whoever it was flew out the curtains. Steve and Robin followed them until they heard the voices. They stopped at the curtain when they heard Dustin and Lucas.
"I'm going to my mom, and I'm going to make Steve my brother!" Dustin hissed at Lucas.
"No, I'm going to make Steve my brother!" Lucas exclaimed.
There was a long pause, so long that Steve thought they had left.
"Should we both just talk to each of our parents and make him brother to both of us?" Dustin asked.
"Yeah, that sounds fair," Lucas said.
They heard them walk out the door, and they peered through the curtain before entering the salon.
"What the hell was that about?" Steve asked.
"I think they want to adopt you, Steve," Robin said with a soft smile.
"Either that or kidnap me," Steve said.
"Probably a bit of both," Robin grinned.
They walked back into the apartment, and Steve set the lamp back onto the table. Robin plopped back on the floor again to continue reading the journals. It didn't take her long to finish.
"Ugh!" Robin exclaimed, clutching the journals to her chest.
"What?" Steve asked.
"Your grandparents! Their story is so beautifully poetic and heartbreaking. . .to have your own kid. . . and Steven! Oh my God! Steven! The love of your grandparents' lives but two different kinds of love. . . And you were named after him!" Robin exclaimed. "I never read anything so beautiful. Your grandfather was a wonderful writer."
"Are you going to keep losing it over my grandfather's journals, or are you actually going to help me clean like you promised?" Steve asked.
"Keep losing it," Robin sighed, and Steve glared at her. "Fine. Let's get to work. Meanwhile, we get to talk about your love life. Have you guys set a date yet?"
"Haven't really had time to talk about that," Steve said. "So, no."
"Okay. Well, once you guys get all settled, you guys need to come together and use your senses to find others like us. . .particularly girls for me. Ooh! Eddie can use his powers!" Robin exclaimed.
"One, that wouldn't be an appropriate use of his powers, and second, that would be an invasion of other people's privacy," Steve said. "Also, that's not how Eddie's powers work."
"Damn, you're right, now what?" Robin asked.
"Well, you could get to know people," Steve said.
"That sounds. . .exhausting," Robin sighed. "But I think it's my only option."
They had gotten pretty busy cleaning the place, dancing and singing to the sound of the radio as they did so. They didn't stop until they heard people coming in from downstairs. Steve turned off the radio and walked downstairs with Robin. He pulled back the curtains to find Dustin with his mom and the Sinclairs.
"Oh, Steve, look at you," Claudia cooed and hugged him carely.
"Like I told you the other day, I'm fine, Claudia," Steve said.
"We'll be the judge of that," Sue said.
"Man, it's been a minute since I've been in here," Charles grinned. "You think of opening it in honor of your grandfather?"
"Thinking about it," Steve said with a nod.
"Well, you're a lot like Otis, so I firmly believe that you're going to be a natural just like him," Sue said.
"Oh, you should have seen how Dusty had his hair for the Snow Ball. It was all, thanks to Steve, that it turned out so cute," Claudia said.
"This is actually pretty cool," Erica said, looking up at the artwork on the wall.
"We actually came to see if you needed any help," Sue said.
"You're Robin, yes?" Claudia asked.
"Yes, ma'am," Robin saluted.
"You wouldn't mind, would you, if you brought the kids upstairs while we talked to Steve?" Claudia asked.
"Of course!" Robin exclaimed. "Alright, kiddos, who wants to mock Steve’s old baby pictures?"
The kids followed Robin up the stairs, leaving Steve alone downstairs with the adults.
"Am I in trouble?" Steve asked.
"No, son, this is a good thing," Charles sighed.
"What's this about then?" He asked.
"Your grandfather was a good man, but, of course, you know that your father isn't," Sue scowled.
"Otis couldn't hide how hurt he was when his son turned against him, and despite the fact that John tried to hide it, he clearly hated his father. No one could understand why," Charles said.
"It wasn't anything that Grandpa did. Dad just couldn't stand who Grandpa really was, even though it did nothing to harm anyone. It was just who he was as a person," Steve said softly. "Dad can't stand anyone who's different."
"That is obvious," Sue sighed.
"We heard you were moving out of the house, and we just want you to know that you're our family just as much as our kids," Claudia said.
"As far as I'm concerned, you're our baby as much as Erica and Lucas," Sue said.
"We also wanted you to know that you do have parents who love you," Claudia said.
"You've done so much for your brothers and sister. Erica won't stop going on about how they wouldn't have made it out of that fire if it hadn't been for you," Sue said.
"And you stood up to Hargrove when he attacked Lucas," Charles said.
"You protected all the kids," Claudia said. "You are a good man, Steve. We're so proud of you. We love you."
"I-I love you too," Steve said in shock.
He didn't expect this to happen today, and he was a little overwhelmed by it all. He hadn't received this much affection from a parent since his grandfather had been alive, and it looked like it was going to be something he was going to have to get used to. Claudia smiled and pulled him into a hug, which caused the dam to break. Steve burst into tears. Claudia hugged him tightly, and he felt Sue run her fingers through his hair. Once he stopped crying, he pulled away from both of them allowing Charles to pull him into a hug as well.
"You have a home with all of us, son," Charles said.
"So, none of this Sue, Charles, and Claudia crap. We're mom and dad now," Sue said sternly.
"Okay. . .mom," Steve said.
It left a weird feeling stomach, and Steve knew it would take time to get used to having parents who actually gave a damn.
"Is he our brother now?!" Dustin's voice carried from down the stairs.
"Sorry! I tried to stop them, but they're slippery!" Robin exclaimed.
"Yeah! He's your brother now! Come on down!" Charles said.
Footsteps thundered down the stairs, and the boys burst through the curtains. Dustin and Lucas threw themselves so hard into Steve’s arms. They nearly knocked him down.
"Careful! He's still healing," Claudia said.
Steve laughed and pushed them off playfully. Erica rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Fine! I guess I'll give you one too," Erica said. "You better not tell anyone."
She wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him a lot more carefully than the boys did. For the complaint that she made, Erica held on a lot longer than Steve thought she would.
"Alright," Sue said. "Let's get started."
"Wait, you were serious about us helping Steve clean up?" Lucas asked.
"You have a problem with helping your brother?" Sue asked, and Lucas quickly shook his head.
"I am allergic to dust," Dustin said. "Hence my name. It's ironic. I can't breathe dust in."
"You are not," Claudia giggled and hit his shoulder.
"Well, I had to try," Dustin said.
Steve laughed, a happy grin on his face as his family helped him clean up his new home and future place together. Despite what happened, things were starting to fall into place for Steve. He had a wonderful boyfriend and a girlfriend, a new best friend, and now, he had wonderful parents who seemed to love him as much as they loved their own flesh and blood children. This was what having a family was supposed to be like: delightfully chaotic. And yet, there was still a part of him that was waiting for the other shoe to drop. . .

Part 9 : Missing In Action
<< Previous ...... Next >>
Disclaimer : This is Y/N x Gojo centered so I didn't write some of the POV from other characters because I'm scared that I'll have another writer's block so I have to keep writing until I get this out. I MAY (not promising) write a side chapter for their POV but that depends if I get the WB. But I have a slight bias towards MiwaMech so….
"So what do we do now?" Utahime asked.
"I know I need to go to the location for all intents & purposes. Muta stay with me, you'll come in handy. :Let's talk on the road, Utahime," Shoko answered as she started to gather all the needed supplies & as if on cue Yaga burst through the door & began to give Shoko orders.
"And put yourself to good use, Mech," Yaga said before he exited the lab.
"The balance of the world will be in ruins if Y/N won't show her ass in case Geto seals Gojo," Utahime rambled as she loaded the van with medical supplies, "Why are strongest ones either in danger or gon' MIA?"
"She must be looking for a way to nullify the prison realm," Muta said as a way to calm Utahime, "We need to get Kyoto Sorcerer's here," he finished.
"Right," Utahime answered, "Let's get them here. I need to get them tickets."
"Do that on your phone, Muta you can get your puppet to talk them through the plan, right?" Shoko said as they all get inside the van.
"Right, I can do that," Muta answered nervously as he found it odd to move without the tubes attached to his body, "I can do that."
"Ijichi, talk to me," Shoko said with the phone on her ear, "Stop rambling. Just talk to me. What is going- Ijichi? Ijichi?" Shoko threw her phone on the seat, her face planted in her palm, "Fuck we need to get there as soon as we can."
"Sorry, I need you all to tone down," Muta gritted his teeth as he activated his ability, "Yuji can you hear me? It's Mechamaru. You need to tell me what's going on… Hold on…" He gave Utahime & Shoko a round thing & asked them to put it on their ears, "Go on, keep talking. You're giving details to Dr. Ieri."
He paused and wiped beads of sweat from his forehead as he connected with his Mechamaru body in Kyoto.
"Miwa," he called the girl beside him, who was watching the news with worry on her face jumped in surprise at his voice, "Miwa, where are the others? Is Todo here?"
"Mech-mechamaru, you scared me. Todo just got here," she answered, her voice laced with worry & curiosity, "Should I call them?"
"No need, Utahime-sensei is already speaking with Kamo-san," Muta exhaled to calm himself, "Listen, you don't have to come, I'd rather have you stay there, but I know you won't. So please once you get to Tokyo, find Dr. Ieri right away. Don't go anywhere, just find Dr. Ieri & you'll understand why. Do you hear me?"
Miwa looked at him through Mechamaru's eyes & he hoped that his concern is reflectling through his puppet's eyes, "Miwa, do you understand what I am saying right now?"
"Mechamaru I-," Miwa spoke, but there's no time for this. He needed Miwa to find Dr. Ieri so that he can see her.
"Miwa, please promise me that you'll find Dr. Ieri the soonest you step foot here in Tokyo," his tone now desperate.
"Wait, you're in Tokyo?" Miwa asked.
"Yes, but I can't explain now. You see the news. Just, find Dr. Ieri & I'll tell you everything & answer anything, I promise," He answered.
"O-okay Mechamaru," She answered.
"Kokichi," Muta said, "That's my real name."
Miwa blushed adorably, but as much as he'd want to stare at her beautiful face, this isn't really the time for that, given Utahime's scolding stare, "Okay, Kokichi. I'll find Dr. Ieri once I get to Tokyo."
"Good girl, now meet up with the rest & they'll fill you in. Your tickets are ready, Kamo-san should have them by now & instructions from Utahime-sensei. Be careful," Muta said before he disconnected from his puppet.
"We're here," Shoko said & she was on her feet, ready for action, "Yuji filled me in. They got Gojo. It seems that Gojo was able to take down one unregistered special grade curse, but it's not Mahito. We need to find Y/N. Muta, can you find Meimei? Maybe Ui Ui can find Y/N."
"Found her," Muta said, as he followed one of the crows, "And she's fighting Geto."
"Fuck," Shoko cursed through her teeth as she lit a cigarette, "Let's do what we can. Here, walk Yuji through," as she handed the Mechamaru ear piece back to him.
"Mechamarus, help Meimei & Ui Ui." Muta commanded before he connected with Yuji Itadori.
It was all chaotic after Satoru Gojo was sealed.
Meanwhile, you got yourself into a problem as you were finding a way to nullify the prison realm & got nowhere. Except, there's a place where you can find answers - The Zenin clan.
But they're not the most hospitable people, are they?
But as soon as you got there, the place was also in shambles.
You can't feel any curse energy, but you saw limp bodies as you walked inside their territory. You were on alert as you tried to find a living soul, anybody who can help you find answers to your current predicament. Actually, the world's predicament because the world's strongest is now in a pickle, thus the balance of the world is now in danger.
"Maki?" you said in shock & saw bruises & scars all over her body, "What happened here? What happened to you?" You rushed to her aid & immediately applied reversed cursed technique to heal her body.
"Thanks, sensei," Maki said in between breaths, "They've been trying to get rid of me. They killed my sister, so I killed them," she said without remorse.
"Oh, Maki," you held her & she broke down in sobs, grieving for the loss of her twin sister, "I thought she's in Tokyo?"
"She was, then she followed me here, knowing that I would get weapons from our arsenal," she dried her tears, "That old man died first at Jogo's hand."
"I know, I know. I saw Nanami's state & was able to heal him. I tried to find Shoko, but I can't find anybody in Shibuya. I only found Inumaki & Nanami, forcefully ordered them to find Shoko to tell them I'm alive & still trying to find a way to burst that damn box open."
"Do you really think you can open the prison realm?" Maki asked.
"I- I don't know. But I have to try," You said, trying not to tear up as you thought of your Satoru, "I have to get him out of there. Does this place have libraries with ancient stuff in it?"
"Yes. Do you think you can find shit in there?" Maki asked.
"Yes, I think this is the one place that has the information that I need."
"Let's go, sensei," Maki stood up & led the way.

The Idol who cant Smile
Minji X Fem! Reader
Description: You are the oldest Member of New Jeans, but Fans Never saw you Smile once. Why don't you Smile? Who's the Person that can bring back a smile to your Face?
Chapter 2:
With a drink in my hand and cheeks already completely flushed, I leaned my head on Lia's shoulder. Somehow, we always ended up in this position when we were drinking together. The only difference now was that Hanni had been watching us the entire time. Yeji was sitting on Ryujin's lap, as often as not. Chaeryeong was dancing enthusiastically to the music.
Yuna and Hanni were engaged in conversation. Occasionally, I heard Hanni gasp in surprise. Apparently, Yuna was filling her in on all the gossip. My eyes opened as I looked at Lia. My hand was in hers. "Y/N, I really missed you. You must have been busy, huh?" she asked. I sat up right away, my leg on the couch as I turned completely toward her.
"Yes, our comeback is coming soon, but what about yours? I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to hear your voice in my ear again," I replied. Lia laughed, and her eyes laughed along, causing my mouth to open. I swallowed and took a deep breath.
Lia took my drink and placed it on the table in front of us. She set her glass next to mine. Her eyes fell on our linked hands before she looked back into my eyes. She smiled much softer now. "Are you... too drunk tonight?" she asked, her eyebrow twitching slightly. My breath almost caught immediately.
I shook my head, which made Lia nod with her head immediately. "I... really missed you, Y/n," she said. The anticipation must have been evident on my face, as she laughed. She stood up and helped me up as well. With a smile, she pulled me along.
I noticed Hanni watching me curiously, but Yuna stopped the younger girl.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hanni's POV
"What? Where are they going?" I asked curiously as I looked at Yuna. Her face immediately twisted in disgust. "Trust me... You don't want to disturb them," she replied, and almost instantly, my mouth dropped open in shock. My eyes widened in astonishment. "Wait. You mean? Oh... So, um, are they... together?" I asked, visibly overwhelmed by this new information.
Was... that why she's often at the JYP building? Is she together with Lia from Itzy?
"Wow. Are they at it again?" Ryujin asked, looking quite surprised. Her eyebrows raised. Yeji laughed softly, "Well, you know, when alcohol's involved—" she shrugged. I blinked repeatedly.
"No, they're not together," Yuna replied when I looked back at her. She laughed a little, "She doesn't talk about herself much, does she?" Yuna asked, and I sighed in annoyance. I nodded as I took a sip of my drink.
"Not at all. Honestly... I don't even know her favorite color or what she actually likes," I said frustratedly, and Yuna nodded her head. Soon after, her forehead furrowed. "I... don't know either. Do you guys?" Yuna asked, looking at the rest of us. Chaeryeong also sat down, breathing heavily, right next to us.
"No, I think we should ask Lia about that," Chaeryeong replied. I sighed again, "Hello?! I... didn't even know she was into women," I said, clearly disappointed in myself. My head hung low, "I mean... we're on the same team, a family... shouldn't she, I don't know, trust us more?" I asked, sighing.
God... it's really frustrating me...
"Well, she's your unnie. The oldest, right? How much of an age difference does she have with the second oldest?" Yeji asked now. Ryujin and Yeji both showed interest in this conversation. I hummed a bit, "2 years with Minji and me. 3 years with Danielle, 4 years with Haerin, and 6 years with Hyein," I immediately replied, and Yeji nodded understandingly.
"So, she doesn't really have anyone her age? She must be the unnie... Maybe that thought is holding her back. I think... if I didn't have Lia, I might be the same," Yeji said, causing Ryujin to now look at her with wide eyes.
"And she's a Taurus. Maybe that's part of it," Yuna added, laughing. But I still looked at Yeji. Was it really because of that? She has to be the oldest, the most serious?
Who even said that?!
Several minutes passed until Lia and Y/n came back into the room. Both of them seemed more cheerful now, and they immediately drank more. Y/n even started dancing at some point.
"She's drunk," Yuna said, laughing. But I furrowed my brow. How did she know that? She looked... okay. She might be squinting a bit, but that's it. "Y/n doesn't like to dance much," Yuna explained when she noticed my look. I nodded in understanding and just continued watching the older girl.
"Hey. Do you like her?" Yuna asked, quite surprised. Confused, I looked at her. Yuna laughed at my expression, "I like her. She really piques my curiosity. But not like that," I answered, causing Yuna and Chaeryeong to nod.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's POV
Drunk, I stumbled into the apartment. Hanni laughed, so I immediately placed my finger on my lips. "Shhh. You have to be quiet," I whispered as quietly as possible. Hanni's eyes widened, and she nodded. She was quite drunk too. I helped her take off her shoes before removing my own.
I then assisted her into her shared bedroom with Minji. She fell right onto her bed, and I tucked her in. I blinked, everything was spinning. Hanni had already fallen asleep, her mouth open.
"Come here," I heard someone mumble sleepily. My eyes widened as I looked at Minji. She had one of her eyes half-open. She looked at me, her stuffed toy now on the floor as she opened her arms for me. Without hesitating for a second, I went to her. I took off my t-shirt and lay down next to her.
Her arms wrapped around me, her chin resting on top of my head. I also had my arm around her, and my eyes closed. After a while, I heard Minji sigh, "Turn around. You smell like alcohol," she said, loosening her grip around me. I mumbled until Minji repeated herself. I did as she asked.
My back now facing her, her leg between mine, and her arms around me. My whole body relaxed as I felt her body close to mine. My eyes closed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hanni came out of the room with a groan. Her eyes fell on me as I lounged comfortably on the couch. Her mouth opened, "How... can you be so fine?" she asked, her hand over her mouth, looking somewhat queasy. I motioned for her to sit down with my finger. I got up immediately and fetched a glass of water for the younger one. I dropped an ACC pill into the glass, and it started dissolving slowly.
"Here," I said as I placed the glass on the table. Hanni looked utterly exhausted. My eyes caught the time, "You must wake up early even when you've been drinking, huh?" I asked, visibly amused. Hanni downed the glass of water in one go. Her eyes widened after just a few minutes.
"Wait, did that... actually work?" she asked, surprised, looking at me. I nodded. Hanni immediately smiled and cuddled up to me, "Do you... like that Lia?" she asked in a much softer tone. My eyes widened, and I hesitated. How much did she remember?
"No," I answered, and Hanni's head lifted. She hesitated as she studied my face, "It's just... fun," I answered her unspoken question. Hanni nodded with her head. She sighed once again, "You should stop... it could really hurt someone," she said mysteriously.
My forehead furrowed in question, "Who-", I began, but I was immediately interrupted by the opening of one of the doors. My attention immediately turned to Minji. The younger one looked at me and then at Hanni. She looked back at me and smiled a bit, "I hope you had fun?" she asked, and I nodded my head.
"Yes, we did. But next time, you should definitely come along. Trust me," Hanni chimed in. Minji looked at Hanni for a while, and it seemed like they were communicating with their eyes. Minji then nodded, "Sure. I'd like to come along next time," the taller one said with a smile on her lips.
I nodded my head too, "Why don't we invite them here next time?" I suggested, and Hanni looked at me as well. Her eyes widened, "Oh yeah, great idea. The others will love her too," Hanni said, and I couldn't help but chuckle. I covered my mouth with my hand.
"You seem to be quite taken with Yuna, huh?" I teased, and Hanni playfully hit my shoulder. Her smile was wide, "But you know who I don't like at all?" she asked, and now I looked curiously at the younger one. Minji had already sat down, "Lia," Hanni said, glancing briefly at Minji.
Confused, I furrowed my brow, "What don't you like about her?" I asked, clearly intrigued. Hanni's mouth opened, but she seemed to struggle to find a reason. She huffed, "I have my reasons," she answered, and I accepted that as an answer. My eyes shifted to Minji, who had been staring at me the entire time.
Nervously, I looked back at Hanni.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What's the first thing you notice about a person?" Danielle said, reading out one of the questions from the streamers. We all pondered for a moment. "Their eyes," Minji chimed in. Haerin answered shortly after, "Their butt." I blinked, looking at the younger woman. Almost immediately, I burst into laughter at her response, covering my mouth with my hand.
Proudly, Haerin looked at me with a wide grin, and the others promptly answered, turning their attention to me, "Um... the smile, I guess," I replied, which made Danielle laugh out loud, "How ironic," she commented. I huffed in response, but she had a point. She was right.
"What makes a person instantly more attractive?" Hyein read aloud. My eyes landed on Minji as she answered instantly, "Dimples," she responded quicker than ever. Hanni hummed thoughtfully, "Patience," she answered, and I nodded in agreement. Haerin was up next, "I don't know. If they're as pretty as Minji unnie?" she answered, her tone questioning.
Minji cringed at that and made a face. Now, everyone's eyes were back on me. I blushed slightly, "A... sweet smile with teeth and also with the eyes," I answered, and almost immediately, Hanni nudged me, "Like this?" she asked, grinning widely at me, showing her teeth clearly.
The rest followed suit, even Minji. But as my gaze briefly landed on Minji, my breath caught. I felt my face completely relax, blinked, and quickly looked away. My gaze turned to the camera. I cleared my throat, "You're all adorable," I said. My hand landed on Hyein's head, who was sitting right in front of me. I stroked her hair gently.
"So, you heard it? Next time you meet Y/n, all you have to do is grin widely, and that's it," Danielle quipped, laughing a bit. Now, the topic shifted to something more mundane. Comments about Hanni and Minji's relationship came up intermittently, and of course, there were discussions about Danielle and Haerin too. All the shippers chimed in immediately.
"Which groups do you like?" Haerin asked, looking at each of us. "Itzy and Mamamoo," I answered promptly, and everyone looked at me with raised eyebrows. I shrugged, "What's wrong? I love Mamamoo because all of them are unbelievably talented, and even in front of the camera, they remain themselves. Honestly... they're my role models. I also don't want to show the bunnies anyone fake, so I stay true to myself," I replied, and I could feel my face brightening a bit.
"And Itzy?" Hyein asked with evident interest, a smile on her lips. I looked at her too, "Well, for starters, I'm friends with them. Beyond that, I simply love their songs. Even songs like 'Sneakers' or 'Boy Like You.' I really don't understand what most people dislike about those songs," I answered, gesturing with my hands a bit.
Danielle leaned forward slightly and read out another comment, "If you had to date someone from Itzy, who would it be?" she read aloud. Surprised by the question, I looked briefly at Danielle, but my face relaxed again. I hummed, "Well, Yuna or Lia," I answered, "Both... have really beautiful smiles," I added thoughtfully.
Hanni looked at me from the side for a while. She glanced at Minji and then back at the camera. Haerin, however, gaped at me. Confused, I furrowed my brow, but I understood her look, "Just because I'm answering the question doesn't mean I actually want to date anyone. Don't get me wrong," I added after a while, raising my hands defensively.

Dean’s POV
Dean doesn’t feel better for the amount of whiskey he drank last night. He feels worse. Much worse. The guilt hasn’t been washed away like he’d hoped it would be; not just guilt that he’d fucked his brother’s widow, but also that he’d left her alone in his bed afterwards. That was not one of his finer moments, and if he could take it back, he’d have stayed there with her wrapped in his arms all night long.
Last night with Y/N was everything he could’ve imagined and more, but he knows not to hope for anything more than that. She’s far too good for him. Too kind. Too caring. Too beautiful. He doesn’t deserve her. Especially after he tricked her into kissing him and then took her to bed. And the hatred he had for himself just kept on coming. How could he do that?
He really fucked things up. He always does. Another reason he doesn’t deserve her – or rather, she doesn’t deserve him. He can feel tears prick at his eyes again, but sniffs them back as he hears movement from upstairs. Y/N will be down soon, and he’ll be damned if she sees him cry like a baby when he knows she’s hurting way more than he is right now.
As soon as she walks through the door, he looks down, feeling far too cowardly to look at her. “Morning, sweetheart. How’d you sleep?” He asks, trying to make himself look busy.
“Fine. Though it looks like you’ve had a rough night,” Y/N replies, and Dean can hear the tremor in her voice. He swears if he could punch himself in the face he’d knock himself out cold for what he’s done to her.
“Couldn’t sleep. You want coffee?” He glances up at her for the first time, but only because he hears her keys jangling.
“I have to go.” Y/N’s voice is monotone, and he squeezes his eyes shut, knowing that all her pain and anger is because of him.
“Sweetheart, I thought we were gonna talk about this? You promised me, good or bad,” he begs. Yes, she did promise him that, but he’s well aware that he shifted the goalposts on that promise when he took her into his bed.
“And we will,” her voice is trembling and her eyes are watering, and Dean would rather face the hounds of hell than see this much pain on her beautiful face. “But I can’t right now, okay?” She avoids eye contact with him as she turns to walk away.
“Y/N, please! Don’t walk away from me on this! It’s too important. You’re too important.” Dean knows he’s losing her, and desperately tries to stop her from walking out that door, because he fears that if she does, he’ll never see her again.
“And I said I can’t right now, Dean!” Her tears fall thick and fast and her words leave her in a sob. “I need some time with all of this, okay? It’s too much. And I’m meeting Jody soon. I’ll call you later, so why don’t you get some sleep now that I’m not in your bed,” she finishes with pure venom in her voice and wipes the tears from her eyes as she turns to walk out the door.
“Y/N! It’s not like that, I swear! You’ve got it all wrong!” Dean shouts, but is met with nothing but the sound of his door slamming.
Running after her and trying to get to her before she drives off, he swings the door open and sprints down the front steps, but he isn’t quick enough. Y/N is already in the car and is driving down the street.
“Son of a bitch!” Dean yells, not caring for his neighbours or the early hour, and goes back inside and slams the door shut. Picking up his cell phone, he calls the only person he trusts with something this big.
“Dad? I messed up with Y/N and I don’t know if I can fix it.”
Tumblr media
“You gonna tell me what happened, son, or are you just gonna sit there and hope it goes away?” John asks, but Dean keeps his eyes fixed on the floor.
With a loud sigh, John sits next to him and also remains silent. Dean had always had a deep, sensitive side – just like his mother, John always told him – and Dean knew his father would sit right there next to him until he was ready to talk about it.
“I slept with Y/N,” Dean eventually murmurs, glancing up only when John lets out a low whistle.
“Didn’t she have a date last night?” he frowns, and Dean can see the cogs turning behind his concerned gaze.
“Yeah. It was the perfect date with the perfect guy,” Dean sighs, and drags his hand over his face.
“I’m not following here,” John chuckles. “If it was the perfect date with the perfect guy, why did she end up in your bed?”
“She came to me upset after the date because Jacob,” Dean scoffs his name, “apparently, was the perfect gentleman and took her on the perfect date and kissed her goodnight. But Y/N didn’t feel anything. She said she felt numb and then got even more upset asking me if Sammy was the only person she was supposed to be with, and if she was broken for not feeling anything with date dude.
“I tried to convince her she was wrong, that he just wasn’t the guy for her, but she was too far inside her head, you know how she gets. She was gonna go home, but I didn’t think she should be alone. I kissed her as a kinda experiment to see if she felt anything with me. I was expecting disgust, honestly, but she started to kiss back and it just…” Dean doesn’t finish his thought. Doesn’t need to, so he lets it hang in the air.
“And it led to you two having sex,” John nods in understanding of his son’s panicked babbling. “What makes you think you’ve fucked things up with her?”
“After, when she was asleep, the guilt I felt that I’d slept with Sammy’s wife and that I took advantage of her… it was killing me and I went downstairs and drank. And I cried,” Dean’s voice was cracking as he tried to keep his emotions in check. “And I begged him to forgive me for falling in love with his girl, and I prayed that she wouldn’t hate me in the morning.”
“You left her alone after sleeping with her? Dean, tell me you went back to bed?” John asks and curses loudly. “How could you do that? Do you know what she must’ve been feeling?”
“Dad–”
“No, you will listen to me!” John barks, and Dean is quick to shut his mouth and slump down in the chair. “You are the first person she’s been with since her husband and you left her alone? You say you felt guilty about it, how do you think she felt, Dean? Do you think she doesn’t feel guilty? Doesn’t feel like she has betrayed her husband by sleeping with his brother? Do you think maybe she woke up in the morning, alone, in a cold, empty bed and thought ‘oh, I’m just another notch on Dean’s bedpost,’ on top of the guilt and the betrayal and the shame, huh? Did you even stop to think about that?”
“I didn’t,” Dean admits sadly. “I got so caught up in thinking about Sammy and that I’d taken advantage of her that I never stopped to consider how she was feeling.”
“Y/N is not one to be taken advantage of, son. If she slept with you, it’s because she wanted to,” John states firmly before the two men share a moment of silence. Dean, at least, is thankful for a break in the interrogation and hopes a break in tension happens soon too.
“Listen, Dean,” John speaks, much calmer than he’d been before. “She’d chop off your balls if you tried something she didn’t want!” he smirks and, with a sad smile Dean nods in agreement with him.
“If you want my opinion, Dean, you need to sit down with her and talk about this and what comes next. And you need to accept how she feels and what she says.” John claps Dean’s shoulder and stands, making his way to the fridge and pulling out two bottles of beer.
“Nah,” Dean shakes his head, refusing the beer. “I think I’ll go to the garage for a few hours. Seems like a good time to bash the frame of that Mustang back into shape. Give me time to think a bit before I call her.”
“Don’t leave it too long, Dean. She needs to know she wasn’t a mistake,” John’s voice is firm and leaves no room for argument.
“Yes, sir,” Dean replies as he stands and puts his jacket on.
“And Dean? If you need it, you have my blessing to be with her. And I’m sure you have Sammy’s too. If you’re in love and will be happy together, then I support you. Sam would want her to be happy and to be with a good man. You’re a good man, Dean, but you need to fix this. I’m not losing both of them,” John warns and Dean nods.
“You won’t,” he promises. “I’ll fix it.”
Tumblr media
Working out all the dents and scratches, and doing the welding work on the body of the beat up old Mustang was somewhat therapeutic to Dean, and he felt like he’d managed to work out most of his frustrations at himself within a few hours. Y/N had mentioned that morning that she was meeting Jody and he didn’t think she’d lie to him about something like that, so he’d give her a little more time before he went over.
The thought that if he called her, she wouldn’t pick up has been at the forefront of his mind, so he decided showing up at her house, knowing she’ll let him in even if it was reluctantly, is the better option. She’s too polite to turn him away, and he knows she wouldn’t make a scene at her doorstep with her nosy neighbours always watching from their windows.
As Dean cleans up the shop and puts away the tools he’s been using, his phone starts to ring. With a heavy dread settling in his stomach, he sees that it’s Jody calling, and he knows she’s going to tear him a new one.
“Hey, Jody,” he answers the call, trying to hide his nerves.
“How are you, Dean?” she asks, concern lacing her voice, and it takes him off guard.
“I’ve been better,” he chuckles sadly.
“I bet,” Jody responds.
“How’s Y/N?” Dean asks before holding his breath for the answer.
“I’d say about as good as you,” Jody laughs softly. “Look, Dean, I’m not calling to burst your balls, but I do need to know one thing.”
“Anything,” Dean agrees quickly.
“Do you regret what happened last night?” Jody asks and Dean’s heart shatters.
“What? No! Of course not,” he insists sincerely.
“She thinks you do, Dean.”
“Shit! She does? Is that why she couldn’t get away from me quick enough this morning?” Dean feels a small bloom of hope in his chest that this won’t end as badly as he thinks it will.
“Alright, I don’t have a lot of time here, Y/N’s in the restroom and will be back any minute, so I’m just gonna say this. You slept with her then left her alone in bed all night while you were drowning your sorrows in a bottle of whiskey. She wakes up to an empty bed, feeling guilty for betraying her husband, and when she comes downstairs she finds an empty liquor bottle and the first man she’s fucked since her husband avoiding eye contact with her. How would you interpret that, Dean?”
“Fuck!” Dean yells, feeling even worse than he did this morning if that was possible.
“You need to talk this out with her,” Jody advises sternly.
“You’re right, I do. And I’m planning on going to the house later. I wanted to make sure she was home from seeing you first,” Dean replies. “Can you do me a favour and text me when she’s on her way?”
“I’ll convince her to order dessert at The Bunker. It shouldn’t be hard, her favourite is on the specials,” Jody says, and Dean can hear the smile in her voice. “I can stall her for about an hour if you want to come by and drive her home.”
“Yes, ma’am, I’ll be waiting outside. Thanks, Jody,” Dean smiles.
“No problem, kiddo. Good luck!”
And with that, Jody ends the call. Smiling for the first time all day, Dean quickly finishes tidying up before hurrying home to shower and change into clean clothes before going to see Y/N. The last thing he needs is to be having a serious conversation and pouring his heart out while covered in grease and sweat.
Dean gets to The Bunker with time to spare, but he wouldn’t have had it any other way. He wants to be waiting for her. He wants her to know that she’s important to him and that he wants to fix things between them.
He parks Baby outside the restaurant and gets out of the car, leaning against her hood and waiting patiently for Y/N. When he sees her walking towards him, his heart skips a beat, and he can’t remember a time when he’d felt more nervous, and it reaffirms just how much she’s come to mean to him these past few months.
Dean watches as she laughs with Jody, but his heart sinks when he sees her stop suddenly, her smile fading as their eyes meet. He keeps his eyes on her and sees Jody lean in and say something to her.
After the brief conversation, the women hug and part ways, and Jody sends a wink and a thumbs up his way. Y/N lowers her gaze and slowly walks towards him. When he opens the passenger door for her, she finally glances up.
“Hey,” she says as she gets in the car.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he smiles, but he isn’t confident it reaches his eyes, because he’s so damn nervous about what comes next.

Falls on Me
Day Four: Afternoon
Rating: Mature (Just in case)
Previous Chapters: Chapter One , Chapter Two , Chapter Three , Chapter Four , Chapter Five
Characters: Gale Dekarios, Karlach, F!Tav: Copper, Wyll Ravengard, Astarion, Lae'zel, and Shadowheart.
Warning: Gale POV, Gale x Female Tav, slight mention of female nudity, sexual innuendos, teasing, bullying, fighting/arguing between many people.
The team is divided about the best way to approach the Goblin Camp. Gale and Karlach look for Copper who was missing from the heated discussion.
---
Day 4- Afternoon
When the scouting team came back, they reported only a minor skirmish at the gate because of a feces incident between a goblin and Astarion. Otherwise, Wyll said they were allowed to waltz right into the ravaged temple where the Goblin Leaders resided. Since all the goblins were easily swayed by the powers of the tadpole.
Hearing the news, Gale thought this would be an easy rescue mission. Walk through the drunken goblin party, find the worg pens, retrieve the druid Halsin, and sneak back out.
Gale didn't want to think too much about the unease he felt in the pit of his stomach at the thought of the poor tieflings trying to survive the road to Baulder's Gate. But their team couldn't agree on the best course of action.
Wyll and Karlach were all for killing the goblin leaders. But Astarion and Shadowheart wanted to be more practical and focus on finding the druid so he could heal them of their tadpoles. Lae'zel wanted to skip the whole goblin camp and head towards the Githyanki Creche in the mountains.
Gale was surprised the young warrior wasn't heading out on her own but she must have had more loyalty to their tadpole troupe than he thought. Or at the very least Lae’zel didn't want more mind flyers floating around if her (forced) companions failed at finding a cure.
Gale notices halfway through the heated discussion that he wasn't hearing Copper chiming in. She surely would side with Wyll and Karlach about protecting the tieflings but the monk was nowhere to be found.
After tempers subsided, everybody agreed to find Halsin first and go from there. Karlach pulls Gale in for a talk. “Hey, I wonder where our soldier went? I wanted her around to help argue our point for protecting the refugees.”
Gale doesn't know why Karlach calls Copper "soldier" but he chalks it up to one of the fiery tiefling’s charming oddities. “It's been over an hour since I last saw Copper. I think we should go find her just in case something foul falls upon our charming monk.”
“Agree!” Karlach says enthusiastically. “We’ll be leaving soon for the goblin camp and we'll need Copper to bash in some heads if we get into a fight.”
“Well, the whole point of that argument just now was that we wouldn't get into an altercation with the goblins.” Gale frowns.
“Come on man!” Karlach huffs out in frustration, “I know you don't feel right leaving those tieflings to fend for themselves on the road if we don’t kill the goblin leaders.”
Gale slows down his pace. He doesn't feel right about this decision. But there's a chance if they rescue Halsin he could stop Kagha from completing the Ritual of Thorns, giving the tieflings more time in the grove, and curing them of their tadpole.
Before he could respond, Karlach put a hand out to fully stop Gale in his tracks.
“Whoa, there,” Karlach says in a hushed tone that still carries over the sound of the waterfall that feeds the stream they camped next to. “We found her.”
Gale looks around and spots Copper sitting under the waterfall, her auburn hair barely visible under the gush of falling water. He could only speculate that the monk was completing some sort of meditation because it didn't make any sense to bathe right before entering a filthy goblin camp.
Karlach walks forward and calls towards Copper to get her attention. The woman must have heard the tiefling because soon she starts to move and wades through the water towards them.
Gale notices right away that the thin white shirt Copper is wearing is soaked through and not leaving anything to the imagination about the state of her, umm… ample chest. Gale feels the heat of embarrassment flood his face and he quickly turns his head away. Trying with all his might to will away the arousal that was spreading through his body.
“Such a silly thing to get excited about. I’ve seen hundreds of breasts before.” Gale internally mocks himself but doesn’t acknowledge his thoughts didn’t go as far as to include most of those breasts were illustrations in books.
“Whoa, that water must have been cold.” Karlach laughs. “You're going to poke somebody's eyes out with those things.” She gestures towards Copper's nipples, peeking through the wet shirt. The monk only gives a quick glance down before letting out a small laugh of her own.
“Hey, they aren't that bad!” Copper grins, water droplets running down her face before the smile falters as she notices Gale’s embarrassment.
“Sorry.” Copper says, fidgeting with the wet neckline of her shirt, hoping for some way to cover herself in front of the wizard but failing. “I’m not used to having much privacy in the barracks, sometimes I forget other people aren't comfortable with nudity.”
“Nooo, it's quite alright!” Gale nervously glances at Copper but tries his hardest to keep his gaze up at her face instead of her chest. “But I do think it's breast. Umm, I mean best if you get dressed. We’ll be heading out shortly for the goblin camp.”
Karlach gives out a loud snort of laughter while Gale just wants to sink into a hole and disappear.
“Urgh!” It always feels like he's fumbling his words around Copper lately and Gale doesn't want to investigate the reason why. Especially not now while the woman is pulling up a pair of pants in front of him.
Besides, the orb in his chest and the tadpole in his head cut short any sort of romantic attraction his body might be feeling for his monk companion.
In his desperate attempt to be a gentleman and ignore the half-naked woman in front of him, Gale almost misses Karlach's question. “Hey soldier, why were you sitting under that waterfall anyway? Feeling too hot in this summer heat?”
Fully dressed and wringing out her hair of excess liquid, Copper looks up, her grey eyes drifting in a far-off direction before focusing back on the tiefling.
“I was…purifying my body for the fight ahead.” Copper answers slowly as if she is deliberating on something before deciding to confide in her companions. “I am getting a strange feeling in my gut that there's something in the goblin camp I have to deal with.”
“While you were ummm, busy purifying yourself.”  Gale fumbles out, still trying to recover from his earlier embarrassment. “The team decided to avoid confrontation with the goblins and go straight to rescuing the druid Halsin.”
“That's a bullshit idea, Gale, and you know it!” Karlach fumes out. “If we don't take out the goblin leaders those tieflings in the grove are as good as dead.”
“Don't mistake my practicality for cold-heartedness,” Gale passionately retorts. “I do not wish any harm to come to those refugees. But there are too many variables for us to consider when charging into an enemy base. Proverbial magic missiles ablazing. For that to happen, all of us need to be on the same page.” Gale pauses before adding. “Which we are not.”
Copper frowns in thought but otherwise stays quiet. Before either of the women could add to the argument. Gale wants to remind them of the bigger picture.
“First and foremost we need to get rid of these little parasites squirming in our heads. Rescuing the druid could be the fastest way to do so and is currently the only plan Astarion, Lae'zel, and Shadowheart agree to.”
“Urgh, wizards!” Karlach mutters, clearly not liking the logical steps Gale outlined for her. While Copper didn’t show any outward signs of disagreeing. Gale had a sneaking suspicion, even without using the tadpole to pry, that the monk also didn’t like this course of action either.
The walk back to the main part of the camp was quiet. Gale felt he already said enough and he didn’t want to further irritate his companions so he just followed after the two women. If he learned one thing from growing up with a household of women (his mother, an occasional aunt, and even Tara) it was how to hold his tongue.
Copper drifts off to hang up her wet clothing while Gale and Karlach finish packing their day bags. Gale does not want to eat or drink anything found in the goblin camp so he packs an extra water bottle, a loaf of bread, and some walnuts he found in an old crate, surprisingly still fresh.
By the time Copper came out of her tent, the whole group was ready to head out.
“Well, let’s get going, shall we?” Astarion calls out to everyone. “The sooner we find that druid, the sooner we’ll be free of these tadpoles and we all can go our merry way.”
“Aye, let’s get this charade done,” Wyll mutters, frustration appearing on his brows as his head dips forward from the weight of his new horns.
Astarion gives him a mischievous glare and is about to take a jab at the warlock when Copper steps in between the two men. “OK, let’s head out. No point in starting a fight when we are trying to avoid one.”
“Oh, darling,” Astarion says mockingly. “You misunderstand me. I was only going to offer to rub Wyll’s back. He still seems sore about our earlier decision...”
“Enough, Astarion!” Wyll growls. “You got your way, so drop it.”
Feeling a bit miffed about the unnecessary teasing, especially with Wyll being the target since he was a good kid. Gale decides to rile up the pale elf in return. “Astarion, how old are you exactly? From your frown lines it looks like you're beyond the age to act like a schoolboy who only knows how to tease a crush.”
Gale smirks at the stunned look the elf gives him. After the initial shock, a blush of embarrassment rises on Astarion’s pale cheeks. He’s about to open his mouth to unleash a string of curses at the wizard when Shadowheart steps in.
“This whole discussion is wasting time!” The Cleric says sternly, clearly getting tired of the boys’ actions. “We could be halfway to saving Halsin right now and getting rid of these damn parasites.”
The other three women agree with the statement and give disapproving stares at the men, daring them to say anything more. Gale for one doesn’t want to irritate the women further so he keeps his mouth closed.
“Fine, fine. I was just trying to have some fun and liven up this party a little.” Astarion complains and swigs his pack onto his shoulders.
Taking that as a cue to push forward, everybody hitches up their day bags and heads out to the enemy stronghold. Pleased they can move forward without another fight.

Wednesday's new court mandated therapist is having her keep a journal of her thoughts and feelings. Wednesday finds this to be a complete waste of time and decides instead to use it to record her observations of her unusual roommate Enid Sinclair. Wednesday POV.

Entry 10
Current Moon Phase: Waxing Crescent 🌒
While the topic of packmates was brought up and it was confirmed that we are indeed packmates, Enid and I have yet to define it's parameters. I plan to discuss the matter with her prior to her accompanying me to my appointment. I shall have to remember to record our agreed upon definition upon my return as I have found my current affliction to cause me to forget things, along with temporarily losing my ability to converse in English.
-YourFavoriteFruitBat is now livestreaming-
"What's up my LGBTs! And by that I mean Lycans, Gorgons, Babes, and Transylvanian Transplants! Today I'm here with an update on Nevermore's hottest slowburn of the century: Wenid Watch! But seriously guys, we need to come up with a better ship name than that. Moving on! What's new with everyone's favorite golden retriever good girl and bad tempered black cat? Let's find out!"
"And while we're on the hunt for our clueless couple, our would-be werelovers, let's check in with chat. Scales_of_Sapphire says 'You're going to get a stake to the heart.' Hey, that's the price of journalism baby. Ston3dGaz3r says 'That's my ex' frowny face. Oof sorry Ajax but the people want what the people want! And it looks like we have time for one more-! Oh shit, my girl just texted me. Give me one minute chat… DIV! You can't send me these kind of pics during a livestream!"
"Chat if only you knew the kind of tail I was getting. Let's just say this fruit bat has a thing for sashimi if you know what I mean. Wait, hold on chat, I think we've spotted one half of our hapless duo. There she is, the one black cat you certainly don't want crossing your path, Wednesday Addams. What's she up to? Let's sneak over while still maintaining a safe distance. Goth girls like these could go off at any moment without the slightest warning and- Shit! Sorry! Almost didn't see you there Enid!"
"What are you doing Yoko?"
"Just showing the lovely people of Nevermore the latest drama around the quad. Isn't that right chat?"
"How do you have so many viewers right now?"
"Ah, well, you know how everyone loves the latest gossip."
"What gossip? Wait. Oh my god-! Did Cario and CC get back together?"
"Girl, who-? Nevermind. Hey, I saw Wednesday sulking off in the corner over-"
"Oh, she's not sulking. She's just waiting for her mate."
"…Her WHAT? Enid! Get back here! Chat, you heard that too, right? What in the-?"
"Hey Willa."
"Enid."
"Oh my god. Chat, are you seeing this!? Did these two actually find a map to navigate themselves out of denial? I don't believe it. I've got to get closer."
"I hope that was an adequate enough greeting."
"More than adequate, silly."
"I see. Dos besos. I shall commit it to memory."
"So what did you want to talk about? Don't you have your appointment soon?"
"Sí, I mean yes, that is precisely why I must discuss this with you. It was my assigned homework and I do not wish to return with it incomplete."
"Okay, so what's up?"
"Our… relationship. I must request your assistance in defining it."
"Oh!"
"What is it that you require of me?"
"Require of you?"
"Yes, what duties shall I be expected to complete?"
"Willa, I don't… I'm not expecting you to do anything other than being yourself. That's what I like most about you."
"…"
"…You want a checklist, don't you?"
"That would be greatly appreciated, yes."
"Okay, well, um, what do you think you need to do in our relationship? Maybe we could go from there?"
"Ah, yes, I assume that is as good a starting point as any. I believe I have a duty to protect you to the best of my abilities."
"Okay and?"
"And I should bring you sustenance, seeing as you have for me."
"Fair."
"And I shall continue to demonstrate my hunting prowess, perhaps with prey larger than the current ones I have been offering."
"Wait, you've been hunting?"
"Yes, I- Have the spiders really been so unsatisfactory?"
"That's why you've been bringing me spiders!?"
"I- I apologize if their size has been too meager, if you do not even consider them prey. I can-"
"Willa, I'm going to stop you right there."
"Yes, of course."
"Okay, so we don't have time to unpack all of that. Maybe that's something you can do at therapy today. Anyway! Wednes, why do you think you need to hunt for me?"
"I… Lo siento- I am deeply sorry for offending you, mi loba- Enid. I understand that you are perfectly capable of hunting greater prey than the pittance I foolishly deemed fit to bring you."
"Willa…"
"How may I make up for this egregious error on my part?"
"You don't."
"Pardon?"
"Wednes, you didn't make a mistake. I mean, you did, but not in a thoughtless or mean way."
"But I have incorrectly assumed-"
"Yeah, you tend to do that a lot without checking."
"Please, help me understand my misstep. I want to know exactly where my misplaced presumption lies so that I do not make it again."
"Okay so, uh, let's see… First of all, you don't have to hunt for me. And not because I think you're bad at it or because the 'prey' isn't big enough because, holy shit Willa, some of those spiders were massive! But that's not the point. I don't need you to hunt for me because I don't need it. I don't hunt."
"But the night of the Hunter's Moon-"
"That was like, uncontrollable instinct. I don't hunt. I don't need to. Everything I need I can just get here."
"I see."
"But I think that it was a very sweet gesture, you hunting for me and everything."
"Than I shall-"
"No more spiders! Willa, please, if you have to hunt for anything please let it be like chocolate or steak tartar or cute plushies."
"Noted. I find it fascinating that you are able to consume chocolate despite your canis lupus genetics."
"Yeah, well, I can't have as much of it the closer it gets to the full moon or I get really bad tummy aches."
"I shall keep that in mind, mon loup."
"Hey Willa? Can I ask you something?"
"But of course."
"Why do you keep doing that?"
"Doing what?"
"Speaking in different languages when you get flustered?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"No, no! Don't get upset! I think it's really cute!"
"Muy linda! Me insultas! Qué he hecho para merecer esto?"
"Willa I have no idea what you're saying but you look adorable."
"Adorable? Je suis tellement en colère que je ne peux même pas parler!"
"Aw, Wednes."
"Cosa fai? Liberami, lupa crudele!"
"Let's get you to your appointment, πουλάκι μο."
"…?"
"Wait."
"…!"
"You don't know Greek?"
"…"
"Really?"
"…"
"Well, maybe I could teach you some Greek words on the way and maybe you could teach me some words in… whatever language you slip into the most?"
"…I find your terms agreeable, mia lupa."
"Holy shit chat! Did you catch all of that? Wait, what do you mean I'm muted? Fuuuuuck!"

Chapter Two
Chris’s POV
After school, the boys and I head over to our spot. Spotting Jamie, I sigh. I can tell Changbin feels my mood because he walks in front of me, meeting face to face with Jamie.
"What the fuck do you want?" Changbin says aggressively, making Jamie chuckle. That druggy shouldn't even be here, he could fuck up the season or worse.
"Oh, daddy didn't tell you? I'm a dealer now and you guys are supposed to add me in your little group. How exciting! So where did you park? We should get to the rink." He says with a stupid smirk on his face.
Of course that bastard went to my dad, now he can get anything he wants. I roll my eyes and start walking to my car. Felix gives me a confused look and I just shrug my shoulders. I can't do anything if someone brought my dad into this. All of us hop into my truck and head to the rink.
Once we get to the rink, Jamie jumps out and pulls out a box. I shake my head before I become a part of this. The boys follow me to the changing room. They have questions and I know it, but I have so many myself. My dad doesn't let me in on all that anymore. I get dressed as fast as I can to hopefully give the boys the hint that I don't want to talk about this, and thankfully they do. When we all finish, we make our way to the bleachers.
"This season is going to be a great one with me as a captain, don't you think? Oh, and I guess with the help of co-captain, Christopher," Minho jokingly says, jabbing at me with his elbow. We arrived earlier than I thought, since the girls were still practicing. Not that I mind, it's a nice view.
"Alex just looks better and better everyday," Hyunjin says sitting down in front of me getting his skates on.
"Damn, yeah, I would tap that," Han says while sitting down next to me. We all look at the rink and he's right, Alex is improving and she looks beautiful as ever she makes you just fall in a trance.
"She has to come here and practice a lot, she is mesmerizing." Grabbing my water and looking around, I see my cousin and wave at her while she smiles back, then goes back to her drawing book.
"I mean, if I had parents like hers I'd always be here practicing too." We all look over and see Tina looking right at me with those heart eyes and I instantly get annoyed. I pray that the girls’ practice hurries up so I can go and practice and get away from her. It seems my prayers were answered because the girls’ coach blew her whistle. As soon as I heard that, I ran to the rink and put my skates on, deciding the boys were taking too long. I start to just skate around with my stick in my hand. I then feel a gentle tap on my shoulder making me turn around. I am faced with the girl who has seemed to be on not only my mind, but my friends’ minds as well.
"Hey umm Chris. Sorry to disturb you," Alex says shyly, looking down at her skates. Her nervousness is adorable and not something I am used to. I like this side of her, cute and sweet, different from her confident, loud self.
"Don't be sorry Alex, you're fine. What's up?" I say with a teasing smile, which makes her blush and look back to her fidgeting hands.
"I was wondering if you'd like… only if you would like too - I mean, you don't have to-" I place my hands on her shoulders to help her relax.
"Hey, relax Alex," I chuckle, rubbing her shoulder with my thumb.  I don't know why she is like this but I like it and think it would be a little fun to tease her a bit.
"If I'd like to, what?" I smile and start to skate around her with a big smile on my face. For a second I forget that there is a rink filled with a bunch of boys and girls.
"Ha, yeah sorry. I was wondering if I could have your phone number for our project of course." She looks over trying to hide her blush but I caught it.
"Oh yeah, that would be a good idea, wouldn't it? ' Nervously, I scratch the back of my neck and we both skate over to her bag and she hands me her phone while she takes off her skates.
"You know, you have some great moves out there. Have you gotten a call from the Olympics yet?" I say giving her phone back, she laughs but then gives me a sweet smile as she puts her shoes on.
"Oh, umm, thanks Chris. You're not bad yourself. With you and Minho as co-captains, we are for sure going to the finals." I smile looking at the rink to see the boys and my cousin looking over at us, giving me confidence.
"Thanks. You should go to our game on Friday and cheer m-"
"Alexa!" I was cut off by her dad yelling for her, making everyone look at us. We make eye contact and I can see the sadness and annoyance in her eyes. We broke contact when her dad called her name again.
"OH! Gosh I'm so sorry. I got to go but I'll text you when we should meet up. Also I'd love to go to your game. Bye Chris." Alex waves, grabbing her bag and telling Chantel ‘bye,’ giving her a hug. Watching her, I smile excited to get a text from her. I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a thump on the back of my head. Turning around to yell at whoever has the balls to hit me, I am met with all the boys giving me weird looks and kissy faces. I look at Alex one last time before I make my way to the boys in the middle of the rink.
"Dude your father would kill you if he sees you with Alexa. You know how he feels about her family," Changbin says, making me roll my eyes. My dad doesn't care anymore, it's more so her dad to worry about. But it's not like we actually will end up together, or that there are feelings to begin with. Right, I don't like her. She's like family, she's my cousin's best friend, that would just be weird. I mean, I know it's not as bad because it's just my cousin. Ugh, I thinking about this too much.
"Yeah man, a Tibbits is a no no." Hyunjin comes out of nowhere standing next to the rest of the boys.
"Well he's going to have to deal with it for a while. We are working on a project together. That's it guys, nothing more." I say before taking a drink of water.
"Sure, we saw the way you guys were looking at each other all googly eyed," Minho says while making kissy faces and noises as the others laugh.
"Hey, look, the rest of the team is here, we should start," I say pointing to our couch and the rest of the team walking out to the rink. I let out a sigh of relief when they all moved their attention to the others making their way to us in the middle of the rink.

Treat you better
Chapter 5: Welcome back
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3rd's POV
Minnie gripped her pen tighter, her eyes closing as the pain in her head became more and more unbearable. She finally put it down and leaned her back against her chair, her hand took a out a bottle of pills from her desk. An annoyed groan left her lips when she noticed it was empty. Fnding her phone as she called Sana's desk.
"Can you bring me my pills? Quick, I don't have time for games"
She rest her hand against her chair again as she waited for her secretary to come. She breathed in and out, the pain she felt was too distracting and she hated missing work hours, especially during such an important time as this. Just when Minnie was about to get up and find the pills herself, Sana ran in with an apologetic smile "I'm sorry for the wait boss, Miss Cho came over to leave something for you and she kept me there" Sana explained as she passed Minnie the bottle of pills and a bag before leaving.
Minnie sighed as she took two pills. Looking over at the bag she opened it and saw different options of food with a note.
Minnie cheer up you moody ass <3
I bought you some food because I thought you might be so focused on your work that you'll forget about it. Also Min just remember to give Sana a raise or I might just steal her away.
Call me later alright? Love you <3
Minnie sighed reading the note. The older girl was too much like always but well it was her own fault for liking her presence a little and keeping her around. Putting the note aside Minnie looked at the food before setting it aside for now and going back to work but before she could do anything, she got a call from Sana "Boss, a new worker is here" Hearing that made Minnie smirk as she answered.
"Send her here"
Around 2 minutes later the door opened and you walked in. You froze in place as you stared at your ex-girlfriend who only smiled mischievously at you.
"Welcome back Y/N"
You stared at her wide eyed as her words rang in your head, memories flashed in your mind reminding you of all the happiness and hurt that the woman in front of you gave you. She walked over to you and pulled you closer to her, her touch made you jump but her grip made it impossible to get away, forcing you to stay closely to her. Her breath panned on your cheek as she observed you, her heart beat speed up when she realized that she finally had you where she wanted to and even if you weren't hers yet, soon you would be.
"I missed you love" She whispered, her hand caressed your arm not even caring about how uncomfortable you were. You just wanted to run away, as far away as possible but you knew you couldn't, you needed money and it would be hard to find a job that pays as good as her company.
She finally noticed how shaken you were and with a sigh she back away a little, disappointment twirled in her eyes as she looked at you. Minnie saw that you weren't too good to talk with right now so she decided to put this conversation for later and excused you.
"You're starting tomorrow morning, don't be late sweetheart"
Nodding you quickly ran out from her office and leaned against a random wall, your heart went crazy because of everything that happened and then the realization dawn upon you.
It's gonna be your everyday now.
writeblr re-intro.
hi friends! this intro is partially because there's a lot of new people around and partially because I wanted to refresh a little bit.
so who am I?
call me splash or ink or some other nickname!
unfortunately, unequivocally both a writer and a gamer
and therefore I run my gaming blog (@splashink-games), where I post reviews, devlogs, and (sometimes) reblog other works
sometimes I'll reblog something from there by accident (or on purpose)
you'll also find me reblogging art or memes here.
I write basically just fantasy, but want to try my hand at sci-fi
tag/ask game/DM friendly! talk to me about stuff!
I'm actually very bad at reading things without a dedicated time to do so, so if I reblog your work with tags like "cool stuff" or something real short or general, I do actually really really love your work
meet my wips below the cut!
Tumblr media
Shining Shadows. (title's a work in progress)
His target was only ever the Hero of Cyreth. The others didn’t matter. And what happened after didn’t matter either.
newest wip. intro coming soon-ish (whenever I get to it)
Progress: first draft
uhhhh. revenge gone wrong. revenge also gone right?
Tumblr media
Memories with the Witch.
"Family... I'm not sure. I know I have one, but it's fuzzy. I don't know if they're even still alive."
you can find the intro here!
Progress: who knows really
(it's actually 46 chapters in progress, 18 to edit, 5 to check, 1 otherwise ready to post but I don't)
originally planned as a non-linear weekly webnovel, it's the most disorganized little thing I've got
if you like D&D, this wip is based on it!
Lyzandir regains his memories with Eryn, then found family vibes.
first-person narration along with diary/journal entries
two POV main characters across generations
Tumblr media
Demons in the Den.
Demons have always run amok. For as long as I can remember and even before then.
the OG, my first wip I posted here.
Progress: second draft of book one, first draft of book two
supposed to be a trilogy but I was bad at planning
so what if the two leads liked each other but one's a demon and triggers bad memories?
and then they're dragged into a continental crisis?
Chapter 9 - Secrets revealed
Tumblr media
Sabaody headcanon, all the supernovas in one palce for the 1st time!
warning: lesbian relationship, kid situationship, law colorful relatiosnship, feelings, confrontation, fight
Kid POV
I still tried to fall asleep but without success, I decided to go take a shower and when I come back I had a tray with a glass of orange juice and a plate of eggs sautéed with bacon and bread.
-KIDDDDD, how's that hangover?
– Killer shouts as he enters the room.
- You want your death sentence, I swear it will happen one day. Doesn't that woman know how to be silent either?! – the bath had helped the headache, but all that screaming made it come back.
-ihihih, job done – Killer closes the door as quickly as he entered.
I hear screams in the hallway, I bet those two are fighting with each other again. I don't care, I mean yes I do, or maybe it would be better not to.
-Kid, are you awake? That idiot Killer doesn't know what a beating he's going to get when he catches him. – Like Killer, she opens the door and suddenly enters the room.
-Eriss, don't even think, enough confusion. Did you get any information? – I take the tray and go sit on the sofa.
-Yes, there will be a human slave auction today. And I heard rumors that some celestial dragons would be present because of a mermaid being captured. Scum. – she leans against the edge of the door and starts playing with the choker pendant.
-Let's investigate, we'll leave in 4 hours, inform the rest.
-Yes captain! – she bows and that makes me roll my eyes, I don't know if I interpret it as respect or just provocation.
Eriss POV
It was the first time that all the supernovas were in the same place, the presence in that place was impressive, and by instinct, I got closer to Kid. I feel his gaze on me, I hope none of Kimi's marks are visible, and it's just because I'm looking for a little protection.
On the other hand, several times my gaze meets Law's, I wish I could talk to him and tell him the news. I guess I'll have to wait until later.
As expected, a battle began between the most talked about trio, Kid, Law, and Luffy, against the navy. Between insults, it was impressive their skills and how strong they had become.
Killer had pulled me to an area hidden from the sailors' view and we were left to absorb that epic battle that was going to start revolutionizing the world. It started as quickly as it ended.
Kid comes towards us - Let's go back and prepare to set sail, the navy will be at our heels soon, it's not safe here anymore.
We started running until I heard a voice calling me.
-Eriss-ya, are you okay? - Law runs up to me and gives me a hug.
-Of course, she's fine! - Kid shouts.
-I wasn't talking to you Eutass-ya, get out.
-You don't give me orders!
-It's better to leave the insults for later, the navy discovered us. - I point behind them.
Not even running, those two were able to stop insulting each other. The navy begins to gain ground and both begin to use their powers to slow them down. We ended up at a dead end, but luckily someone opened a door for us.
We entered a kind of warehouse. I was catching my breath when I felt lips touching mine, it was Kimi, I let myself get involved and forget about the situations I had behind me.
-Eriss!
-Eriss-ya!
I heard them both saying my name in perplexity, but my attention was only focused on her tears.
-Kimi, why are you crying? Did someone hurt you?
- I wipe her tears and hug her against me.
-No, I was worried about you when I found out that you were involved in the mess at the auction. I couldn't let you go without saying goodbye.
I feel Kid's fury flooding the room and a whistle disguised as Killer's laughter. I turn to them and Kimi wraps herself around my arm.
-This is Kimi, a friend. - I say, trying not to blush at the embarrassment and my secret being revealed.
-Eriss-ya talked a lot about you, it's good to know that you're alive. - I look at Law and he smiles slightly. Our looks said everything that needed to be said at that moment and that made me relax.
-Are you able to explain? How does this Dalmatian head know more than me? - the veins on Kid's forehead begin to show.
-She's a friend, didn't you hear it the first time?
-But the kiss? What does that mean? Since when?
-Damn Kid, I'm bisexual, Kimi was the first woman I was with. I thought she had died, but she was able to find me. Happy now?!
Silence settles.
-We can't stay here long, the navy is still looking for us. - Law approaches me and whispers to me - you need to say goodbye.
I look at Kid who looks away, I wanted to explain everything to him but it wasn't the right place or time.
I grab Kimi's hand and pull her to a corner so we have a little more space and privacy. I didn't want to say goodbye to her, not now after we had met again and the night we spent together. Between hugs and tears, we accept reality. One last kiss with my first crush.
I go over to the boys, I touch Law's arm, and whisper to him a thank you. He looks at me deeply, as if reading my soul, he knew what that moment meant for me.
-Kid, I'm ready. - he looks at me sideways and mumbles between his teeth.
