Random ass Akira Otoishi headcanons because I love him. The silly!!!

His hair isnt naturally purple, I imagine him having medium brown hair but he bleaches it blond to dye it

He HATES his natural hair color

has tried multiple colors like green, hot pink, blue, and red but purple is his favorite

Likes doing makeup! The purple streak on his face is makeup.

Also sometimes does black smudged eyeliner and lipstick because it looks cool

Has a absent mother, and his dads a asshole

Uses it as an excuse to steal from him (as he should)

Has a vertical eyebrow piercing, a nostril piercing, and a regular ear piercing.

If he doesnt like his college neighbor he can and will play his guitar loud at night to annoy them

Was considered one of the "weird" band kids in highschool, but out of everyone he was one of the most skilled in playing guitar, due to his intense passion and starting young.

Didnt have alot of friends growing up due to being misunderstood and misjudged.

He is an only child but wishes he had a sibling

Nobody can tell me that akira WOULDNT be a amazing big brother

Is a manga/comic nerd, prefers reading over watching.

"Cats or dogs?" Birds. His favorite animals are birds. I'm no expert on birbs tbh, but I think he would like cockatoos because they have a mohawk.

May act like a cocky bastard at times, but really hes internally freaking out whenever he receives a compliment from someone

he gets alot of compliments about his awesome guitar skills, which are appreciated and does make him feel happy.

But if you compliment him on his appearance, such as calling him "handsome" and "pretty" he turns into a flustered mess.

If I interpreted this right ur referring to the guys we get to see in the movie for like 0.5 seconds. The funny thing, that most people maybe don’t know about(?), is that they actually have semi-canonical names! I think u can find them by playing the somewhat obscure and kind of shit Akira game that came out in 1988 lol. But I will spare you of having to do that lol

Weirdo. Just gives me weirdo vibes (*loving tone*)

You know that one kid in middle school that freaked out all the other kids by turning his eyelids inside out or by doing other kinds of gross stuff in general? Yeah, that’s Mitsuru.

Youngest child vibes

Gets into fights easily, pretty impulsive as a person in general.

A true instigator at heart LMAO. Likes to say out of pocket shit just to start a heated discussion. I don’t even think he believes half the shit he says, he just likes to piss people off.

As a result, it’s really easy to get into random, weird, and petty arguments with him. Like why tf are ya’ll arguing about whether water is wet or not rn

Green is his fave color.

One time he and Kaneda thought it would be a fantastic idea to try and race each other in the dead of Neo-Tokyo’s winter. In the end, Mitsuru fell of his bike and got the nastiest road rash scar ever on his chest and right arm. He still has the scar to this day, but he thinks it looks fucking sick (and it kind of does tbh).

Yuji Takeyama

Chronically cranky.

Looks way meaner than he actually is, tho.

Mitsuru is his 4lyfer, but he would never admit it to anyone. They argue like they hate each other almost every day but they’re always together. Yuji is his one living braincell.

He’s the only one with any living braincells in the entire gang actually, which doesn’t say much anyway…

He’s a hater at his core. Laughs his ass of whenever Tetsuo falls off his bike, makes fun of Yamagata when he mispronounces words, and so on.

Asshole, but he can be nice sometimes. Always pays for his friends whenever they want snacks or drinks from the vending machine. I also feel like he remembers everyone’s birthday.

Was blonde at one point before he shaved his hair, but no one dares speak of that era lmaoo

Eiichi Watanabe

Literally zero thoughts behind this dudes eyes. Just going through life on autopilot atp

Surprisingly sweet and mellow tho, has the whole gentle giant vibe going for him, kind of

Always super relaxed and easy-going, I feel like he’s ideal to have in a stressful situation. But is really lazy and hates doing anything that requires too much effort too, tho

Smokes soooo much. Literally. all the time.

Always laughs at people’s jokes, no matter how bad they are or how awkwardly they’re delivered.

Really strong and is the tallest out of his friends (the gang), so he thinks it’s funny to pick some of them up randomly and put them in air jail

Always keeps forgetting where he put the keys to his motorcycle. Also his wallet, always forgets his fucking wallet. Super forgetful in general.

((Here comes another small batch of Akira hometown headcanons!!)) 

Akira’s father runs a small, independent fishing business in Sumaru City. He established his business back before Akira was born and before he married as well, so he takes his little store very seriously. He’s built it up into what it is today, with trusting customers and workers who’ve been around since the start. 

When Akira was little, his father sometimes took him out on his own boat to go fishing, spot the different fishes swimming in the sea, and enjoy the open ocean. It was also a way for Akira to escape his mother. 

This is why if you happen to go fishing with him in the city, he knows exactly what kind of bait to use and when certain fish can be found in the hatchery. He also likes going there when it’s raining out.

Like in canon he already has a questionable fanbase but just imagine the weirdos that’ll idolise her as the detective princess

Hey, one of my little cutely hurtful ideas here

Do You guys think Akira just does little daily stuff that he never gives and explanation to but anyone close enough to him understands?

Like keeping a chess piece as a keychan with him all the time?

Trhu the rest of highschool, and college, or work, or whatever he goes to do, it's with him, and it's a black one, the Queen to be precise

And as time goes on it gets old, it has scratches here and there, the paint is off in many parts, but no matter how many times people tell him to replace it, he won't do it and the only time he takes it off is when he visits Sojiro, and plays with the old chess table that's missing only one piece

Other odd thing in his life is that in winter he wears a pair of unmatched gloves, they're both black, but if You look for more than a second, you'll realize they're not the same type of glove at all

Another thing, is that he prepares an extra coffee in the mornings, sometimes he drinks it, sometimes it just becomes iced coffee in his fridge, but only at the end of the day, is almost as if he were waiting for someone to come for it till the last second, isn't?

Maybe he just likes to keep some extra just in case

He has a habit of listening to music whenever he cooks or eats, specially if it's coffee, and he tends to hum over the melodies, seemingly never getting tired of them, even if one in particular keeps apearing multiple times in his playlist, maybe he doesn't really realize it considering he keeps looking at the window, as if he was waiting for something to happen

Maybe, whatever he is missing, will return to him one day, and that day, his gloves will match, the piece will return to its place, the coffee will find someone to drink it and he'll look to someone to his side instead of eyeing the window

as a phantom thief, you were already familiar with strange things, so you shouldn't have been so surprised when your boyfriend turned into a cat

after all, you all had turned into mice in shido's palace once and one of the members of your group was a cat! 

but this time the curse had only hit your boyfriend, who had went ahead to check if the next area in the palace was safe

though your boyfriend didn't return again and instead a black cat did! 

it took you a while to realize that ren and the cat were the same person! or the same cat? well, they were the same! 

unlike morgana, ren couldn't talk in his cat state and instead only meowed at you

it was a surprise at first, but after the initial shock slowly faded away, he became quite adorable to look at

you gently picked up ren and couldn't help but pat his little head, immediately hearing him purr in response

honestly, you could've continued cuddling your boyfriend like this, but since you were in a palace, you didn't want to push your luck and get ambushed

the team retreated to the nearest safe room, with you carrying your boyfriend there

once you arrived there, you started to discuss how to handle this new situation, while you kept ren on your lap this entire time, patting him and feeding him little treats that you usually kept around for morgana

you weren't sure if he'd even enjoy them or not, but ren didn't seem to complain, so you continued feeding him with them

ultimately, the team decided to leave the palace for today and hope that this would reverse the effects of the curse ren was under

and sure enough, when you all left the palace again, ren turned back into his human self! 

though now he was complaining about those gross treats you fed him, while also seeming flustered that you cuddled with him so much in his cat form…

((This morning has me thinking about a few things concerning Akira’s Super Smash Bros verse. Before I forget them, I’ll dump off a bit of an introduction to the verse and how Akira finds himself in the world of Smash: 

Akira isn’t notified about his Smash invitation until he is released from prison (after the events leading to Shido’s arrest). Once Sojiro returns him to Leblanc and all his friends disperse for the day, the old man tells him about a bizarre envelope he found in his mailbox a few days after Akira’s arrest. It’s labeled “Joker” for some reason. No addresses are found on the envelope. 

Akira doesn’t open it immediately. The letter gives off suspicious vibes, seeing as it’s labeled with his code name. He even asks the rest of the thieves whether or not they received something similar in their mail. When the others tell him they were never sent anything, Akira decides to dispose of the letter. 

Although Akira tries getting rid of it, the letter always returns into his possession. In the mailbox, on his desk in the attic, on a booth in the café, on the counter, anywhere and any place Akira frequents.

The day of his return home comes, and once Akira packs the very little amount of clothing and other personal belongings of his he decides to open the letter. No one will know where he’s going, other than Sojiro and his friends, so whether it’s blackmail or something else inside the letter won’t matter. As soon as he reads the invitation, Akira finds himself being transported straight into the Smash Manor. 

Galeem is the one to greet Akira at the Smash Manor. While Akira is very confused and frightened being teleported into another world all of a sudden, he still is very curious about Glaeem’s Manor and the tournament they talk about. He asks questions whenever possible. 

The tour ends with Akira being shown his own room inside the manor. It’s quite luxurious, even themed to match some of the elements Akira would find in the Leblanc attic. There’s a wardrobe filled with various outfits of his Metaverse attire in different colors.  

Akira doesn’t accept the offer at first, but he’s polite with Galeem and thanks them for the invitation. Galeem then returns him back to Akira’s world, where the boy uses his time during the train ride home to think about his past year AND this rare chance of a lifetime.

Akira Kurusu x S.E.E.S! Reader Headcannons

Warning: Swearing

Note: The reader doesn't know that Akira is a Phantom Thief but has suspicions.

He doesn't know that you were a persona user, due to him thinking that the only way to summon a persona is ripping off the mask and that the Metaverse is the only place where shadows can exist. So he was essentially clueless even if you two dated for a while.

When you invited him to your house to hang out he was excited, he was excited to see what your room was like and to see your personality shine through it.

And indeed it had your personality and your likes slapped all over it. Posters of your favorite band/game/movie and some of the items you own in your favorite color.

You have to excuse yourself to get something you left downstairs, so Akira was left alone in your room.

Akira just stood there awkwardly, he didn't want to snoop around but something caught his eye.

There was a sliver case peeking out under your bed, the blanket almost covering it.

It caught his interest. He kneels down and takes the case out under your bed. He wanted to respect your privacy but curiosity got the better of him.

He carefully open the case, and he immediately saw something that shook him to the core.

A fucking gun.

A unique-looking gun at that. Another thing that caught his eye was the red armband that was sitting there, waiting to be worn again. He didn't want to touch it in case you noticed that it moved once you opened the case. But he can see the letters S.E being shown while the rest of the letters are hidden.

There was something else that caught his eye, but it was a lot more innocent compare to the gun.

It was a group picture with people, a dog, and a robot? that he doesn't recognize other than you of course. The people in the picture were wearing a school uniform. You looked younger in the picture so Akira can guess that this picture was taken years ago.

"Oh shit I can explain!" You quickly shouted when you saw Akira looking at your Evoker case. You thought that you had hidden the case better.

"...Why do you have a gun?"

"It's not a gun it's an Evoker!" You try to explain but it didn't really help with another. You quickly responded, "Look, let me explain, and hope this won't change your opinion of me." You then explain on how you had gotten this Evoker, S.E.E.S the Dark Hour, the shadows, and a little bit of your teammates. You didn't tell him about the more... sensitive parts when you were part of the S.E.E.S. It took a while for Akira to process the information because he was shocked that there were other Persona users and something similar to the Metaverse. Akira did feel bad that you had to explain this to him which is probably one of the most private parts of your life. So Akira spoke up.

"(Y/N)," Akira said softly, "thank you for telling me this. To make things fair, I want to tell you a secret." Akira then mentally prepared himself for your reaction, "I am the leader of the Phantom Thieves."

Silence fills the room. You sigh as you run your fingers through your hair, "I had my suspicions...and I had a feeling that you were more special than others." You put your hand on his cheek, "You are being careful with being a Phantom Theif right?"

"Yes, I am..." Akira put his hand over yours.

You stay silent and then you spoke, "I want to join you guys." Akira stiffens but then slowly nods. Despite him not wanting you to join, you already have experience with shadows. More than him actually. So he reluctantly let you join.

You Had Join The Phantom Thieves!

Akira let you tell the others what you had told him.

When you all got to the Metaverse and started to fight the shadows, he (and the others) got a heart attack when you put the Evoker to your head. He felt a little better when your Persona came out instead of your brain bits.

It is going to take a while for him to get used to it, maybe never.

Despite you having more experience, he is still a little protective over you.

...and maybe gets a little flustered when you are being a badass.

for all that he does to maintain his ruse to the general public that he’s merely an unassuming person, ren amamiya is a trickster at heart and soul and that translates in his relationships.

ren doesn’t hide the fact that he’s committed to you, but it’s not immediately apparent to the same masses who willingly blind themselves. it’s his confidants, those who know him best, that catch onto the little gestures and glimpses that anyone else would have chalked up to one thing or another. the thieves see the way he looks at you like you’re his whole world he’d do anything to protect it; the way his eyes soften in your presence and linger on you for a few seconds longer. don’t get him wrong, he’s an affectionate person when he wants to be and doesn’t want you to feel as if he’s trying to be sneaky about his relationship. he’s on the down-low about it in public out of habit so please don’t take it personally. when it’s in the company of those he trusts or just the two of you, however, there’s this mischievous twinkle in his eyes that doesn’t go unnoticed.

ren prefers to reveal his adoration and love for you through his actions, but can and will use his words to express that if you’re not someone who’s comfortable or interested in the physical aspects. your comfort and happiness means the world to him, after all. he’s not someone to ramble on, but each and every word of affirmation and confession is so unabashedly genuine and wholehearted that it treads on vulnerable. you’ll get to see the rare flush across his cheeks and the burning of his ears behind shaggy strands of black, rubbing the back of his neck as he tries not to look away and inevitably does. even when he’s (regrettably) unable to be by your side he’ll send you a sweet text message whenever he gets the chance to, and it’s not unusual to find handwritten notes meant for your eyes only in your bag or on your desk delivered by morgana.

ren would prefer not to draw attention to himself, but he can’t help himself from taking your hand in his when the two of you are walking someplace together. it could be down the sidewalk, through shujin academy’s hallways, you name it. at first it’s the back of his fingers brushing against yours that’s a little too frequent to be coincidental, then it’s his fingers wrapped around yours before you know it. he eventually commits to it and smoothly knits his hand together with yours with a practiced elegance, standing a little closer than before so his shoulders brush yours. it’s a bit rare because of how intimate he finds it, but ren will drape an arm around you to keep you close to his side—your shoulders, your waist or hips, wherever you’re comfortable with. he’ll lean some of his weight onto you, head resting on top of yours, and continue on his way.

ren is a pretty evasive person and takes advantage of that, frequently appearing behind you out of seemingly nowhere and pulling you towards him until your back is to his chest. even if you’re taller than him, he’ll still come up from behind and keep you close. he’s kind of a menace in that regard because so long as you turn your back and aren’t trying to focus on anything serious, you’ll never know when he’ll strike next. his arms are snugly wrapped around you and his cheek settles on top of your head until he’s comfortable enough that you’re sure he could fall asleep then and there. ren takes a bit of amusement if he leaves you flustered by the upward twitch of his lips into a grin that teeters on a smirk, but he leaves you questioning if you ever saw it at all by how quickly he conceals it.

regardless of what you have your name set as in the messenger, ren sets your nickname as treasure with the red exclamation heart beside it. captioned with the message “thought of you” and a smiley face, your phantom thief sends photos of things that remind him of you whenever the two of you are apart during his daily travels around the city. sights, cuisine, movies, games, anything and everything. you’ve impacted his life so much that it’s part of his daily life to connect the two dots. ren will text you at the most ungodly hours of of the night / morning after returning from a palace or working on infiltration tools, wishing you sweet dreams and hoping you have a good day later. he’ll always send one wishing you good luck if you have an important or exciting upcoming event to show his support if he can’t make it, which is a rarity in itself.

ren’s kisses are all super sweet and gentle, and it’s a wonder how someone’s lips could be so soft in the first place. he alternates between the playful and quick pecks to the impossibly tender ones that linger against your skin and leaves you breathless. it’s not uncommon that they trail from your face, down your neck, and end at your shoulders. if you’re lucky enough, he’ll sometimes grace your palms, the back of your hand, or cheeks with wet smooches all so he can hear your laughter and see your captivating smile. if he pulls you close (and he will, don’t ever doubt that), you’ll find that it’s just as hard for you to move away as it is for him before he goes in for the kiss. his more intimate kisses are reserved for behind closed doors out of preference, but he’ll happily exchange them before you board the train or he has depart to get to class.

within the metaverse, as dramatic as he may be, it’s not a place the phantom thieves can just mess around in. still, that doesn’t mean ren is a boring and strict leader or he’s just going to toss that playful part of himself behind. he’ll happily help you up if you need the assistance form jumping between platform to platform, a gloved hand curled around yours for just a few seconds longer than necessary before he returns to taking the lead. his showtime with you undoubtedly has some romantic elements to it, such as holding you close or a kiss-tease. and him pulling you to his chest when he uses his grappling hook, his hand lingering on your back to “make sure you can regain your balance” after all of the twirling and spinning. never forget him checking in on you a couple times over while in the safe rooms, especially worried if you were ambushed or hurt in battle.

once he is released from prison and arrived at leblanc, ren is understandably relieved to see everyone again just as they are to see him. he had faith in this plan despite its risks, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t miss everyone and that it was a pleasant time. however, he can’t stop himself from letting his gaze wander to you despite his best intentions of maintain conversation with the others. when they’re all gone and it’s just the two of you upstairs, he pulls you close and leans some of his weight onto you. his breath trembles and so does his hands that keep you pressed against him, fingers bruised and knuckles battered. his skin takes on a grotesque yellow-green, remnants of gnarly bruises that he tries to hide with his clothing and hair but can’t from you. before he falls asleep, ren briefly muses that he’s back home in your arms.
