Finished the 83 issues of Star Wars/Republic👍 Not a lot to say but they do manage to make Order 66 so fucking devastating every single time

It's just- really fucking sad and god I hate it but it's so well written and the betrayal of it all gets me every single time

Anyway, obsessed with how Quinlan looks in this panel specifically. The art on the final issues is soooo nice and clean and aesthetically pleasing they just look really good

I love the little "?" then she gets fucking shot. something so emotionless about the way the scouts look here as they shoot her. What the fuck. I'm gonna cry

So that's how they explained him blowing tf up. Oh. Ok. Absolutely nothing to cry about here. Not even him thinking about Aayla first. And Tholme and T'ra Saa (and Khaleen) and Obi-Wan and oh god he needs a fucking hug

The flashbacks parts were specifically targeted at me they,,,, "As I will keep you in mine" BECAUSE SHE'S DEAD. I'm gonna get violent about them

And like Tholme is not my fav but I always like seeing young Quinlan and their father-son relationship is so,,, too And him apologising to Tholme here? ruined lives

Skipping a bunch bc it's interesting but I have nothing to say about it right to the end and I think I'm gonna have to kill this baby. Korto Vos sleep with one eye open. No particular reason but he pisses me off. Why did he as a baby not stop Order 66 from happening. What is wrong with him. Not to wish death on a baby but he needs to be afraid.

to be honest, i don't see tim and selina as very close, unless im reading a fanfic where that's the specific setup--i do enjoy that trope

i actually like the dynamic i've seen a little of in the comics (i'm thinking of batman: contagion), where tim is willing to work with catwoman but is still wary of her, while selina is fondly contemptuous of the new little robin. i like tim as the annoying but earnest kid who still manages to grow on people. like mold <3

and yes! i'm ok with fanfic based on my drawings as long as you link back to the original piece (and maybe let me know if you're comfortable with that :])

How did all the mutanimals die in your universe, you know, so I can cry more after reading the Idw comics

The Mutanimals in the AU died the same day Splinter got nearly fatally wounded during the peace treaty.

Mikey would not find out about it until after Splinter's health stabilized and Leo recovered Raph's body.

The saddest part about it all wasn't the fact that they were taken by surprise, ambushed and died swarmed by foot soldiers. It was that they actually tried contacting the brothers before perishing, but nobody answered because the brothers and Splinter were getting attacked at the same time and trying not to die.

Mikey didn't even get to say goodbye properly.

One of the things that is just wild to me is the intersection between sexism and homophobia in so many action stories

Like the sexism results in none, or basically none of the female characters being interesting or anything but card board cut outs, these female characters have basically no effect on the story, and as love interests they're frequently the end goal, so MC is always striving to be with them but never gets to be until the end, so what you get is a couple that spends no time together, where one half is the most bland half baked character you could ask for but we are somehow supposed to still be routing for them

In contrast, the male characters are constantly surrounding each other, lifting each other, supportive or at least always there whether that be antagonistic or not, recognising and treating each other as equals because the sexism means that only male characters are valid, yet cause of homophobia they're never gonna let two male characters end up together

And with this cocktail of bland and uninteresting straight love, and intense and passionate male "friendship" people dare to be shocked that the ships are gay

My guy you wrote the sexism, you made the female characters trash and the males ones amazing, you are the reason we don't care for the straight ship, yet you come out and say that the gay ship is wrong
