The Moon to Whom You Belong to

Khonshu x Reader
Summary: Harrow's hatred towards Khonshu was clear, but to hurt you in order to anger the God was a low blow.
You saw him everywhere you went.
He stood on top of buildings, watching you.
He knew what he was doing. He was annoying you.
But you were mad at him.
Who could have possibly thought that dating an ancient Egyptian God would be a bad idea?
Not you. Khonsu was truly magical and even if his last avatar, Arthur, didn't see that, in your eyes, Khonshu never changed.
Arthur hated Khonshu and despised him to the point where he wanted to bring Amit back just to get revenge.
Arthur knew you, he often saw you with Khonshu he knew what you meant to the God. And knowing this, Khonshu was afraid Harrow is going to use you to get back on him.
So, his only logical solution to this problem was to do everything in his power to lock you away.
He found a new avatar, Marc Spector, but you were not allowed to meet him. Khonshu explained to you just how broken Marc was, but never gave you a real reason why he kept you locked in your home.
Of course, you knew it had to do with Arthur and his plan of revenge. Arthur was an easy man to read, and you also overheard many times whenever he was talking to himself about how much he hated Khonshu amongst other things.
So, when you told Khonshu that you didn't need to be locked in a dark place just until Harrow is dead, the God took offence.
He wanted nothing but to protect you, and you knew that, but this was too much.
You decided to go to work, as usual, and carry out your daily things as usual.
And so, Khonshu followed you, every day he watched you, making sure no one would hurt you.
Every time you sat on the bus, as you looked out the window, you saw him, standing there, standing or sitting on buildings.
Just how possessive this bird truly was?
If it was up to him, he would have you in a palace, he often talked about how you need to be treated as a Queen, he would have you wrapped in silks, fed to your liking with no questions asked. He would have you sit on a throne, much like a pharaoh, but he would make sure everyone knew you were more important than anyone else.
And you loved him, you loved even his overprotective and possessive nature. You loved him because he made you feel like no one else ever, he made you feel important, loved and cared for even if he couldn't kiss you, his body language and soft touches proved it all.
You always tried to pay attention, you knew Arthur had many followers. And you were sure you have seen many of them without even knowing.
They could be everywhere, the lady in the store, the new coworker at work, an old coworker at work. Anywhere and anyone could be a follower.
But he didn't have to be so controlling about it. He could have just told you not to go out or just talked with you instead of breaking your door and getting it stuck. He could have sat down and told you to stay safe, you would have called in sick for work. But because of the way he behaved, you behaved just as well.
And here you were now, in the bus stop, waiting while he was watching you from across the street.
"Go home." he would say. But you didn't listen.
And you probably should have.
But he still blamed himself.
You were stubborn as much as he was, but it was still his fault. He didn't protect you, he wasn't there for you.
You had a feeling for a while now that someday something would happen. That one day he will send his people and harm you.
Yet, you weren't prepared.
Khonshu took his eyes off you for a minute. A literal minute and everything went to hell.
You weren't taken, but they sure tried.
If it wasn't for Khonshu and the quickness of his new avatar, you would have been gone. Khonshu would have burned the entire world down to find you, but he didn't have to.
Jake Lockley saved you, and you were back with Khonshu, standing on a tall building. He didn't let go of you. Not even for a second.
"This is all my fault." he said as his finger ran over your wrist, you managed to hurt it when you tried to free yourself, you fell and even fractured the bone. "All my fault that My Little Star is hurt." he said, voice full of guilt and pain.
"I am the one to blame. I should have listened to you and stayed home." you knew it was your fault, your fault for being so stubborn.
You tried to prove to him that you could take care of yourself. You grew up just fine, you didn't need his protection.
But you should have just accepted it, you should have just said thank you and stayed behind. You were weak, and you had to accept that sometimes it was okay to get help from others.
You placed your other hand on his chest and let him pull you close.
"From now on, I will listen to you." you said, promising him to do as he said might not be the best move, but you knew it was the only thing he would accept and calm him.
"Thank you, Stardust. I will also try not to listen that much to my overprotective tendencies. We can find a middle ground I'm sure."
You smiled as he squeezed you against his towering frame.
He used to get smaller when he was with you, still much taller than you but you asked him not to. He didn't need to hide from you.
"I'd like to meet your Knight. I need to thank... them." you looked up at him and he nodded.
"Tomorrow, for now, I need you with me alone. I need your help with a plan. I cannot possibly find what Harrow is looking for, we need to get there before him."
You liked it when he asked your help or opinion on things. But you liked it better that he didn't even let you leave his embrace for the rest of the evening.
You were his Star and he cannot lose you.
He was your Moon to whom you belonged to. Easy as that.

The god of malice
As many of you probably know, "Seth" is the name of the god who symbolizes the evil. (He is also known as the god of war) And "Horus" is the one who killed Seth, in order to avenge his devoted father that Seth has murdered to maintain his rulership in Egypt.
Now things get a bit complicated in evillious here, because Seth and Horus are literally the same person, but something came to my mind after I found about those gods' doings.
In the crime novel Seth was disguised as "Horus". We saw a fake death of "Horus" and Seth stopped his disguise after that. Since the Seth symbolized evil and Horus defeated him according to the myth, but in ec Seth countinues to live while Horus doesn't.  So the evil set free as there was none to defeat it, and even Horus was actually Seth himself. How ironic, isn't it?

Attack of Apophis & the Leak of essence:
A solar eclipse was known as the day time attack of apophis. The time where darkness eclipses is most dangerous for the gods and humanity. In this time the true essence of a almighty god may leak out, giving them a extra bout of strength to protect their sun god, but at the same time may cease the being of who is exposed to this power. Few live to witness the power of the Leaking ones.

Pet peeve: When someone says that the hippo part of Taweret does not fit with the rest of her. Lions and crocodiles are seen as "dangerous" animals, yet the most dangerous to humans... quite possibly the hippopotamus (500-3000 deaths every year).
Have a Taweret as compensation for listening to my rant:

Seeing all your posts makes me wanna just binge Toutotsu no Egypt Kami the second I get home
Honestly? Do it. It's short, it's sweet, it's worth the binge! What's even better is that it's cute and fun and a good way to just decompress after a long day. Don't know if you have watched it before, don't know if my blog was your introduction to it, regardless of what your starting point with this series is, I definitely recommend.
The only catch is that if you're someone who is easily upset over things pertaining to mythology or religion, and are a stickler about it looking at it as this holy thing that shouldn't be tainted, Toutotsu no Egypt Kami/Oh Suddenly Egyptian Gods is definitely a series to skip out on. I will tell you now that if you're going to approach the series with this concept of holiness, where people can't make jokes or giggle about it or even be loose and relaxed with the mythology and the gods depicted, then you aren't going to like it.
The show is silly. It's not afraid to laugh at how goofy the feud between Lord Horus and Lord Set gets (let me tell you it's real goofy sometimes), as well as how petty it can be. It's not afraid to be like 'oh yeah Anubis? He's well respected and all, but he's still really close with all the other gods and is depicted as being very similar to a dog in his personality'. They aren't afraid to be like 'Toth is a nerd and Bastet is a cat'. If you aren't comfortable with representations of the gods in that matter, then this show is definitely 100% not for you -- skip out on other shows like Tutenstein, Moon Knight, and whatnot while you're at it and stick to the raw mythos.
Now, I personally love it, both as a casual anime enjoyer and as a Kemetic Pagan. Since these gods are integral to my spiritual and religious sphere of living, it's safe to assume that they are sensitive to me and with that approaching the concept with care is important to me. There are a ton of movies and shows I avoid because they clearly did not show love or care to the source material(the Mummy for example -- great horror movie, but did we really need to go and demonize mummification and label it a horror movie fad?), nor respect for the still very well and good belief system that exists based around this material.
What I like about Toutotsu no Egypt Kami/Oh Suddenly Egyptian Gods is that it's very clear the writer, Yuka, did their research and cares deeply for the mythology surrounding this culture. They take care to keep in mind the implications and to make something both lighthearted and respectful.
Sure things are glossed over, and the drama of the Gods is mostly a footnote in this slice of life anime, but that's the point. The question asked is 'what are these gods like when outside of the myths and could it be possible that even they can be silly at times?' Sure it's overplayed, but that's just the nature of anime. Emotions are exaggerated to make them easier to read universally (that's why you get the super dramatic gasps, gulps, and 'huh's when you watch, which do not translate over well into english).
The tl;dr that I'm trying to get to here is this is a good show as a whole. It's just genuinely good to watch, it's family friendly, and it's overall just a lot of fun from a consumer perspective. For someone who has no background with Kemetic Paganism, it's a good watch. However it also gets the additional mark of being a show that does Kemet and the gods within it justice. Yes it's super silly, it's a show that pokes fun at things, but it does so in a way that doesn't feel meanspirited or crass. The authors understand things like the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, the Pharaohcy, the situation with Lord Ra and the rest of the gods, the war between Lord Horus and Lord Set. They understand these concepts and seek to make them easy to digest and understand.
I went on a long rant there but I felt the need to really hammer home -- this is a good show. It's good for casual watchers who don't know a lick of mythology, it's good for people who like mythology but don't worship those gods, and it's especially good for those who are Kemetic Pagans or worship the Gods of Kemet in some way/shape/form.
So yeah -- go watch Toutotsu no Egypt Kami/Oh Suddenly Egyptian Gods, you won't regret it. It's on crunchyroll. If you don't have a crunchyroll you know how to get access to it, I don't think I need to tell you.
Additionally, for all my Kemetic Pagans out there, just a reminder, it's okay to meme about mythology and the belief system. It's not morally incorrect. We don't need to approach it like we're going to Sunday School. Laugh a little. The Gods won't hate you for it. I'll probably get a lot of flack for this from witchblr, but I actively make playful jokes about the mythology and the Gods in Their presence, and I've never been cursed for it. So you're good. You'd be surprised the amount of Lettuce jokes I make, if you know, you know.

8 SURPRISING FACTS ABOUT THE LOVE LIFE OF THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS
The ancient Egyptians respected women, used birth control, and practiced premarital sexFor the ancient Egyptians, sex was a natural activity, just like eating and sleeping. Nothing to be avoided or embarrassed of. They had many expressions for sex. For example: ‘to unite oneself with,’ ‘spending a pleasant hour together,’ ‘entering a house,’ ‘to enjoy oneself with,’ or ‘charge towards her…

You Are Meant to be Loved
January, 22nd 2024 I was riding in a car with three girls who kept touching me without my consent and an unknown driver. I got them to stop and asked them “How do I delete a bad memory?”  They pulled me down onto the seats and pinned me down, “Like this!” One said, before pushing me out of the car. I tumbled down a mountainside toward a pond. I recalled a video in which a man survived a shark…

Ceiling and imagery of the Tomb of the Vineyards, burial of Sennefer, Mayor of the Southern City, Thebes, during the 18th dynasty of Egypt.
Photos taken by me, August 2023
It’s hard to tell which way is up and down when walking through the tunnel leading from the surface into the tomb. Before entering the main chamber there is a small antechamber whose ceiling is quite low, and then a shallow arch which leads to the main room depicted in the above photographs. Both chambers contain a good deal of paintings, however the main chamber holds the most numerous and well preserved paintings, of course. Besides the ceiling, everything is encased in glass.
