You know how a pretty obvious majority of kinksters are submissives? You want to know a big part of the reason why it's hard to find a dom that's into the same hard kink you are?
Ask a hardcore masochist what they think of being whipped.
Then ask a hard sadist what they think of whipping someone.
Do you notice that the sadist/dom will often either dance around an answer or try to use soothing language/euphemism not unlike the way how in many places people are still expected to discuss sex if at all. Gentle, calculated language.
The issue is, especially with a new surge of purity culture overtaking so-called "leftist" online circles, is that fantasy becomes a moral judgement.
Sub with a noncon kink: "I want to be raped" (cnc but like. People can talk ab it how they want don't cancel me fr.)
Response from Normies: "well that's weird and kinda dark but ok"
Dom with a noncon kink: "I want to rape"
Response from Normies: "I'm calling the police and you should kys and you're also a sexual abuser and even though you haven't said anything about kids you're also also a pedophile :)"
Not only does the attitude of murderous hatred against doms/tops with hard kinks/fetishes/paraphilias make it difficult for them to practice those kinks (safely and ethically) out of fear of social backlash if it's ever found out even if both they and their partner[s] had a great time and are fine-- but, it actively puts innocent people in danger by equating thoughts and attractions of ANY KIND to the act of hurting others against their will. It equates fantasy, which can oftentimes be played out safely if in a modified way with real harmful actions.
Also, kink is still illegal in many places, so don't "its illegal" me about harder kinks. Law is not morality, none of us are free until all of us are free, etc. You get the gist.
You want to see more doms? Meet someone who can indulge your "scary badwrong" sexy feelings? Then maybe don't actively promote a culture where you put ANY kind of attraction or kink under fire. It doesn't matter if it'd be unethical to act out in real life. Some of the most common kinks worldwide are unethical as fuck to act out irl, including rape. That's why we have cnc, come on, guys.
You know what? In fact, you SHOULD actively shun people who shame others for their sexual feelings. EVEN if you think it's gross. EVEN if it wouldn't be ethical to act on irl. Let these types know that their puritan ideals are NOT accepted here. Let them know that if they want to go to church they can do that but not in your space, not forcing other (non consenting!) people to listen to their hateful and repressive ideology.
Like, hey, I'm not into ABDL, for example. But I will defend to the death other people's right to be into that. To think and feel whatever they think and feel. You think diapers are sexy? Great! I don't personally see the appeal, but you do you boo. There is no Correct Way to be sex/kink negative. Either you believe in thought crime or you don't.
And yes, this post includes "harmful" paraphilias (I put it in quotes because they're only harmful if acted on), sadomasochism, mutilation fetishism, etc etc. Every "gross" or "evil" kink, fetish, para you can possibly imagine. The stuff that makes you horny is just stuff that makes you horny, and being horny is normal. Being "weird horny" is also normal. No one deserves to experience shame, let alone public harassment or hate over feelings they most of the time don't Choose to have. Be mindful of puritan rhetoric and strike it down when you see it.

I’m not sure when exactly this happened, but I think it’s clear that the aro community really is a community, now.
For the longest time I’ve felt like we were still in stasis, not quite there; a proto-community, yes, but not quite a community. But we have more history now to lean back on, more of each other to talk to and laugh with and cry with and learn from. More people that’ll go forward and make a part of modern aro history. More people that believe us, believe in us, will stand with us if we ask them.
I wouldn’t consider myself an aro elder yet, though each year I’m surprised at how long aromanticism has been a part of my life, how long I’ve been free of doubt or insecurity about my aromanticism, how far we’ve come since I was questioning. Then again, when I was questioning, some of the people I looked up to for guidance were probably close to the age I am now, so I might be there sooner than I think.
And, I’m so so hopeful for all aros, young or old, new or not, because we’ve come so far. Day by day, progress is slow (and yes, it’s unfair, it should be so much faster), but looking back it feels fast. We are our own role models, the people we look up to for guidance. We carve our own path through life, making things up as we go. I used to find that terrifying, because I had no idea what the future would bring. But it’s actually amazing, because I can ignore all these silly “rules” and guidelines about what my life should be, and instead ask, “what do I want my life to be?”
Younger me, you have no idea how awesome your future is gonna be. I’m sorry about the pain and hardship you’ll go through first; it won’t be fair and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. But you’ll make it through, and one day you’ll be me. I can’t wait for you to get here.

I'm seeing a influx of people using the wording "aroace spectrum" as opposed to aspec, or using aroace as if it covers all aros and aces, like...
Do I really have to explain why that's not as inclusive a move as you'd think it is?
If someone addressed me, a aro, as "under the aroace spectrum", I would be questioning their allyship even if they themselves are aspec because no where in that's sentence did I say I'm also ace.
Using that wording instead of aspec is as much dismissive and hurtful to non-ace aros as it does when people shove our aromanticism under asexuality without thinking on why it's not helpful or disrespectful.
I feel so strongly on demanding that aroness and aceness is seen as separate, on demanding proper recognition and respect for aroallos and non-SAM aros, on demanding that my aroness is seen as enough on its own because calling me ace or aroace is erasure on my identity; It pushes the wrong narrative and box onto my experiences. It promotes misunderstandings on not just aromanticism but also asexuality. It treats my label something not worthy of taking up space in the aro community, in the aspec community, in the queer community.
Stop using 'aroace' or as the umbrella word to cover the aspec community.

Palestinian children from the family of Al-Hajj were found under the rubble of their home after being killed in the bombing of the Nsairat refugee camp, Central Gaza. 21.11.23
This is haunting. Remember that there are no resources to dig people up from the rubble. So civilians use their own hands to dig if they could, which in this case is impossible. So even if you're alive crushed under the rubble, there is no way to get you out. And if you manage to get out, there are no functioning hospital in Gaza except for one. Demand a ceasefire, this isn't normal and never will be.

the reason so many modern ‘feminist’/’gay’ retellings of classic stories or mythology are shit is because no-one wants to actually engage with a work on its own terms anymore. nobody wants to actually analyse and dig into the themes of a work they just want to plaster over it with what they consider self serving and ‘trendy.’ so instead of actually ANALYSING what a myth could say about women, or gay people, or society at the time in general, it just gets rewritten again and again to say what the author wants it to say. braindead fucking culture

you know how the next US presidential election will take place on november 5th this year? you know how 9-1-1 has already been renewed for a season 8 that will probably air this fall? you know how there’s a very real possibility that buddie could go canon in season 8?
I’m just saying, the abc network and 9-1-1 executives have the possibility to do the funniest thing ever.

I notice posts for Palestine seem to be dwindling. Palestine is not a trend. Don't stop talking about Palestine. Do not normalise genocide.
"200 days, more than 35,000 killed, 70,000+ injured, and more than million people forcibly displaced. This has to stop." from Celebrities 4 Palestine, 23/Apr/2024:

What Saleh aljafarawi had to witness today is beyond comprehension. These children are alive, crushed by the rubble and the dead bodies of their loved ones but they're alive. God, their screams. Civilians have to dig up people from underneath the rubble using their bare hands. Today marks the 46th and every day a massacre is committed by Israel that's worse than the one before. Speak up, don't get bored or used to any of this, it isn't normal and never will be.
The worst horror movie wouldn't start to capture what gaza is going through right now. Trigger warning, if you can't look which I think you should, share it, let the world mark the horrors committed by Israel.

i love how spop has this underlying message of “see, our princesses aren't your typical princesses. they're unique and different”. and then they turned all of the princesses (with the exception of glimmer, scorpia and entrapta) into 2d stereotypical characters who aren't even good role models.
some of the disney princesses may not have been good fighters or physically strong, but they were still good role models. strength isn't just physical, it comes in many forms.
cinderella was an abuse victim who managed to be kind and open-minded, after everything she's been through.
belle teaches kids to focus on inner beauty and not judge a person by their appearance.
jasmine teaches kids to value their own freewill and choose their path for themselves.
ariel teaches kids to be curious about the world around them and pursue their dreams.
tiana teaches kids to be strong-willed and independent, but also to learn how to take things easy every once in a while.
what do the princesses of spop teach kids? to be ableist and uhh.. to constantly complain about their duties and responsibilities.

Tw/ blood
Lance remembers when Veronica used to sit and help him study long before the Garrison and long before a war in space. She would sit next to him and explain all the best ways to do it. All the best ways to remember.
"Remember, you highlight all the important things so that you'll never forget them. If you use a color you like it'll help even more because your brain will remember it easier."
He would smile at her and nod, putting all the keywords in his favorite shade of blue. Over the years that stayed the same, it stayed the same until his color became red.
It was blue until he'd see Keith's jacket and it set his heart aflame. It was blue until Keith's armor, it was blue until he was the new red paladin.
And now it's red, red like his lion, red like Keith Kogane, red like the blood coating his fingers.
"Lance listen to me you have to hold on ok? Just a little longer you can do this, don't you dare close your eyes on me--"
Lances sister always said to highlight the important things and oh how Keith was important to him. That face full of beautiful sharp features was frowning down at him, those strong arms holding him safe and warm. Lance hated to be the reason those eyes looked so sad, so very scared.
So he lifts his hand and touches that face highlighting it red red red.
Keith's hand flies up to grasp his, nearly sobbing in relief that Lance reacted at all "please just hold on a little longer for me sweetheart."
Lance is too weak to speak but he smiles at him, or he hopes he does anyways. Though it doesn't seem to work. Nothing is easing Keiths worry but Lances own is so far gone now he isn't worried anymore.
Veronica always said to highlight what was most important in his favorite color so he wouldn't forget and now Keith was highlighted in his red.
Red red red.
Lance knows he won't ever forget that look on Keith's face, those tears mixed with crimson.
And Keith won't ever forget the way Lance looked either, Highlighted in a color he's now learned to hate.
