To prove to Jason that Bruce replaced him, Talia hacks a CCTV livefeed of Batman with his new Robin. But she mildly fucked up.
Because it's also got audio, and it's very clearly catching Bruce telling the new Robin that he doesn't need a Robin, and that the kid needs to go the fuck home.
It catches the new Robin do something completely unhinged in response to that, along the lines of solving a case right then and there to prove a point, and then jumping through a window into a gunfight before Bruce has even processed what he said.
"I mean," Jason starts tentatively, looking very Concerned, "At least that's one way to make sure the kid doesn't get himself killed, if he's got a minder."
The plan backfires, spectacularly.
Now Jason is concerned about this new Robin, and keeps filling Damian's head with ideas.
Ideas like Damian needs to force Drake to go to bed, Damian should help Jason make sure Drake eats more, Damian should help Batman hide trackers on Drake, Damian should get an adult if it looks like Drake is about to do something stupid.
Basically, instead of clearing the path for Damian to take the mantle of Robin, Damian is instead being taught to care for Drake like one would a domesticated wild animal.

It's really depressing that the only real Jedi centric and Jedi positive show in existence is written for preschoolers, while many of the more "adult" shows are edgy and about morally ambiguous or straight-up evil characters. As if lessons about being kind and selfless are somehow not important or relevant to adults just as much if not more than they are to children.
It feels like characters who are unambiguously good are seen as only enjoyable by the very young and adult viewers will only actually appreciate characters who are cruel and selfish (and the requisite "tragic backstory" that always goes with it to help excuse their cruel and selfish choices).
It's just really sad and disappointing.

when talking about topics like maturity and (self-)infantilisation, it's important to remember that there will always be disabled adults for whom the "normal" benchmarks of adulthood are not attainable or even applicable at all. if you want to be an ally to disabled people, you need to support all of us, not just the ones you find palatable - and that includes people who have "childish" interests, who get very emotional about seemingly trivial things, who aren't able to be independent in the way that adults are expected to be. that doesn't mean that we "need to grow up", or that we're reverting to a childlike state to avoid our responsibilities, or whatever op-ed writers think is wrong with gen z these days. it's just the way we are, and liking plushies or struggling with certain tasks doesn't in fact make us children! disabled adults are still adults, and still deserving of dignity, regardless of whether or not we can live up to the rigid societal norms of what it means to be an adult.

I think hazbin hotel is part of a common trend recently where things call themselves “adult” to mean like saying bad words but still have the themes of and are structured like children’s shows

Stupid post made after a couple mates but people who complain way too much and vaguely about "fanservice in anime" just reveal to me how strict US media is regarding about sexual things. Your average Latin American or European movie has at least two nude or sex scenes (of all kinds, depending on the movie), it's almost expected. Same with sexual jokes or references and the like. Meanwhile, and I'm far from the only one to observe this, violence has little to no barriers in US media, but even the subtlest sexual reference if it makes out the censors gets discussed to no end.
And I'm going to be a bit more controversial here and say that many people complain about fanservice in manga and anime when 1) manga and anime are much like, or more like precisely, comics or animation, they are mediums with several genres in them and 2) people who complain about juvenile fanservice often forget that those works are precisely aimed to an audience who loves juveline fanservice. What do you think "shonen" means?
I was a dumb kid and teen too, and the kind of fanservice or jokes you can find in animu are tame compared to the kind of jokes and talks I had with people my age or older. There's always a debate about sexualization and misoginistic depictions, but let's not pretend that young people aren't aware about that kind of stuff or that it even should remain hidden under locks (if you try, they'll find out anyways). What I mean here is that some people seem scandalized about dirty jokes or someone drawn a little bit too sexy when this is not an uncommon or unknown experience. We all eventually have experiences with that kind of stuff during our lives.
It's also a bit hypocrital to single out Japan about this especially since the real explicit stuff is aimed at adults specifically, because again, manga and anime are mediums, not genres. Especially that, despite what I've said at the beginning, TV and series on Netflix and the like seem very comfortable in portraying live action high-school settings with lots of sexualization lately. In a way, I think showing the kind of "perfect" body types and social expectations in a live-action series is a bit more concerning that fantasy fanservice.
Anyways, this is just a pointless rant, and I'm far from the first person to point this out. I'm just saying that it's very silly when I found out that people were warning about the sexual bits on Chainsaw Man, a series with perhaps some of the most violent gore you can find in mainstream manga today (and neither thing detracts from its quality, or lack of it, I personally think it's a great series)

anti new rome as a concept. like it makes zero sense that there are many adults in the society and yet it’s the children who are conscripted. I don’t care if it’s for the plot it’s a terrible plot. like I’m sorry reyna is 16. 16 and in charge of the whole army. and then the next praetors are frank and hazel which is even worse bc hazel is even younger. do you know how stupid that is. they’re children with adults around!! not like chb where all the adults are dead or luke or half horse. new rome is literally the antithesis of percy choosing the prophecy to protect nico, i.e. someone younger than him. new rome should have been portrayed as the dystopia it is not as some sort of haven for demigods I rest my case.

sometimes you know I'm of the opinion that it can be really healthy to seek out and listen to folks who's opinions contradict some of yours, like for instance theres this one youtuber I would sometimes listen to their videos because it was presented entertainingly even if I disagreed with a majority of their takes, but it really feels like they've taken a nose dive into their own ass and their opinions have shifted ever more extreme into their lil bubble world that i cant even watch their stuff anymore, its like... if you are so unwilling to go outside your comfort zone, to engage critically and in good faith with media that may not be to your specific tastes, you really shouldn't even be critiquing media anymore, you're living in an echo chamber and spouting the right buzzwords to win points that don't exist and i hate that that has been the growing trend of fandom as a whole
biases can exist and they have their place in commentary but also when you're turning that bias to pure vitriol against anything deemed "problematic" (as loose as that term gets thrown about) you just shut yourself off from new experiences and opportunities to grow and learn. art in all its forms exists to engage us, and there are more feelings out there than just the 'good' ones

Not to be the most autistic person of all time, but I think it would be awesome to see Zane (Ninjago) and Data (Star Trek: TNG) interact.
They are both basically polar opposites, so I think it would be cool for them to be friends.
Zane is a ninja with magic ice powers who initially thought he was human and had to accept his robotics. He also deals with a lot of emotions, even if he doesn't always understand them.
Data is a spaceship science officer who wants to be human and doesn't feel emotion at all.
They are both extremely loyal, protective, and intelligent people with identity issues.

Tinkaton will constantly repair and modify their hammers with scrap metal they find, but some are more excessive about it than others. Certain tinkaton have been known to alter their hammers until they are too big and unwieldy to even lift off the ground. Funny as this can be to witness, this behaviour causes a lot of issues, as it leaves them less mobile in combat and more vulnerable to predators. A tinkaton without its hammer is easy prey.
